netflix’s defenders high school AU is coming so soon you guys 👁️ it’s more or less a breakdown of every possible dynamic / pairing in a high school setting but if enough people like it i’d be so game to specifically write fics while referencing lore.
i’ll say right now that matt foggy and karen DID become friends in a way similar to how they did in daredevil .. just without the dead man. i’ll also say underrated friendships like colleen and claire + colleen and jess have a lot of coverage because this fandom doesn’t talk about them enough. ironwing is also very canon ANDNANDAND kastle slowburn + frank and amy do in fact meet and maintain a similar bond:)
okay that’s all i’ll say for now. if you have any requests for duos you’d maybe wanna see featured, requests are so open.

Always an Angel - Paul Lahote
Ok, I've been obsessed with the lyric “Always an angel, never a god for a few days now. I don't know why all of a sudden but it's been all I can think about. I know there are a bunch of literal interpretations but I look at it as a version of “always the bridesmaid, never the bride”, always the side character, never the main character. So I hope this comes across how I want it to lol.
Also, the timeline is kinda messed up in this, just live in ignorant bliss and ignore it pls, and thank you!
---------
Always the option, never the priority.
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
Always the lover, never the loved.
Always the fighter, never the fought for.
Always an angel, never a god.
------------
You were used to being sidelined, looked right through.
No matter what you were doing, or who you were with, you were never the main focus.
Growing up boys never spared you a glance, your best friends being the main targets for their glances and flirty remarks. You were never the one asked to dance, always the one asked to hold a friend's purse or bag. If the car was full on the way to get ice cream, you were always the one that was going to be left out. You never learned inside jokes and standing alone at parties, you didn't even know why you went, it's not like anyone would notice if you left anyway.
At night when you would break and confide in the one person you knew truly loved you she would always question why you remained friends with the people that caused you so much pain. And through your blubbering, you would look at her like she was crazy. Explain to your mother that it must have been too long since she was a teenager. Because that's not how it works. Living in a small town the pool of potential friends is small, and having friends that treat you horribly is better than having no friends at all.
You would apologize to her years later, after maturing, and realizing that the remarks you directed towards her were uncalled for. The anger you threw her way was misguided and unfair. She didn't deserve the way that you treated her.
When Bella Swan moved to town you thought everything was going to change. She was from a big city, you didn't know much about Phoenix but you knew they probably didn't harbor the same small-town mindset that Forks did.
She had no clue who you were. She didn't know the unspoken reputation that hung above your head like a storm cloud.
And at first, you were right.
The two of you became friends quickly, Bella taking a liking to your quiet demeanor, such a drastic change from Jessica and her goons.
Your friendship appeared surface-level, to everyone but the two of you. In school, you both kept to yourselves and didn't talk much, even to each other. You would drag her along with you when you gathered the strength to hang out with your old friends. But you didn't do that often, seeing as they saw her as a shiny new toy and didn't treat her as a second-class citizen.
But after school the two of you would talk, your friendship would come alive in the comfort of your own homes, and you two would look like actual teenage girls and not two seventeen-year-olds who should be on the highest dose of Lexapro.
She was the first person that you saw as a true friend, that was until she committed, in your opinion, a cardinal sin.
Bella had gone off the deep end and you hadn't seen her in days. But that was normal, she would spiral, skip school, and then show up as if nothing happened. So you weren't concerned, sent her a few texts checking up on her and getting one-word responses back. Then the following Monday came around. You were waiting by your truck, lazily twirling your hair, eyes glazed over as you dissociated waiting for the bell to ring.
But amid your dissociation, you were pulled back to reality when a shiny black Volvo came to a screeching halt a row over. You knew who drove the expensive car so you tried to be as nonchalant as possible as you peered over your shoulder to get a good look at the owner.
You wished you hadn't.
Because getting out of the passenger seat was the person that you considered your best friend. Your best friend was sitting in the passenger seat of the car of the guy you had a crush on since he arrived at Forks High School.
She knew about your long-standing crush on Edward, she was the only person other than your mother who you had told. It came tumbling off your tongue one late night about a month after she had arrived in town. And you had sworn her to secrecy, begging her to never tell another soul.
But now it seemed to not matter, she had broken your trust and your heart.
------------------
The next year drug on. With Bella being completely infatuated with Edward you were left to crawl back to your old friends. They accepted you with barely open arms, reluctantly saving you a seat at the lunch table, sometimes sending you the location for Friday night activities.
When the Cullen clan abruptly left Forks Bella did to you exactly what you had done to your friends months earlier. Part of you didn't know why, but you let her back in, although this time keeping her at an arm's length away, never fully trusting her,
Eventually, however, Edward came back. First making his appearance walking hand in hand with Bella in the dreadful hallways of Forks High School after she had disappeared yet again for a few days with not even a courtesy text.
This time seeing them together didn't feel like a hot knife was piercing your skin. How could it, you no longer felt the same that you had for Edward. Because he had proven himself to be just like everyone else. He made you feel invisible.
------------
The heat of late spring had arrived and you took in all the warmth that you could as you walked down the small rocky path to the mailbox. Graduation had come and gone and you found yourself in isolation. The people you had forced yourself to be friends with in high school no longer mattered. You didn't have to play the uncertain game of high school politics anymore. Starting university was on the horizon and while you dreaded leaving the comfort of home you were excited, this was going to be your chance to reinvent yourself. You were no longer going to be the person no one cared to look towards.
Pulling out the various envelopes you felt your heart stop beating when the light lilac envelope was pulled to the front. You knew what it was, you didn't even have to open it. But you did, ripping it open, praying that you hadn't torn apart the coveted invitation. Sure enough in bold letters, you read “Edward Anthony Masen Cullen and Isabella Marie Swan request your presence…”.
The phone call with Bella that night was awkward. You haven't talked much since graduation but she assured you that she wanted you to be at the wedding. You had wanted to push and ask her why she was rushing to get married. I mean you along with everyone else knew that they had only known each other for a year and hadn't been dating for the entirety of said year. But she sounded happy, the happiest she had ever seemed. So you didn't say anything, instead prying for details about the impending nuptials.
-------------
Thousands of flowers cascaded down creating a custom perfume in the air. Your eyes darted between the bunches of wisteria and sweet peas and you were in awe. The wedding had snuck up on you. So much had happened over the summer leaving you feeling unprepared to start school in the fall. Leaving you to make one of the hardest choices that you had ever made, deferring your acceptance into your top school to the following fall quarter.
So when you got a reminder on your phone that read “Bella and Edward wedding tmr” you were at a loss for words. I mean you had everything you physically needed, a dress, a present, the right pair of shoes. But you had forgotten one important thing, a date.
It wasn't going to be the first time you had shown up to an event without one, but it was probably going to feel the most embarrassing.
So here you were, standing next to your group of “friends'' from high school as they gossiped about the possibility of Bella being pregnant. “What do you think?”Erik asked you, giving your arm a soft nudge with his. “I don't know guys '. Jessica of course had a counter, pointing out that out of the group you were the closest with her. Luckily before you had to come up with an excuse of why you didn't know for certain the music began, signaling that it was time for everyone to turn their attention to the altar.
A few tears managed to slip down your cheeks as you watched your sometimes best friend say “I do”. In that moment all the turbulent times the two of you experienced didn't matter. You were just happy to be in the presence of two people who were madly in love and confessing it to each other, permanently sealing their love with a dramatic kiss.
The reception area was decorated equally as beautiful. You were grateful that Bella, or more likely Alice had set you close to the dance floor. That way you could watch people without feeling like a total loser, hanging out in the corner by yourself. At least this way you could still enjoy the happiness of the other guests without feeling the gross amount of body heat from the dancing bodies.
The ice was melting quickly in your lemonade, the night had not been rewarded with a cool late summer breeze so you were appreciative of the cool drink. The night had seemingly been going according to plan. Your ‘friends’ had migrated to another table across the dance floor with the excuse of wanting to talk to some of the other guests, but they had not returned in almost two hours so you were holding your breath.
Mentally you were planning your escape plan, glancing at your watch. Waiting for an acceptable time to leave, not too early into the night but not too late that you were leaving only minutes before the bride and groom's big exit. As you granted yourself yet another glance at the heirloom watch you wore and looked back up a gasp unwillingly left your lips.
The mystery man, who looked almost familiar, chuckled at your surprised look. Confidently he took the empty seat next to yours, turning his body to give you his full attention. “May I help you”, you didn't recognize your own words, your tone was a bit rude and you didn't even give him a second to introduce himself after she sat.
“I’m Paul Lahote”.
Once he gave his name to you your eyes moved up to meet him and the electric shock that you felt in your veins almost felt real. There was no doubt blush forming on every inch of your face and you were praying that the low light of the Edison bulbs did a good job at protecting some of your dignity. You gave him your name, barely squeaking out your last name.
Things like this didn't happen to you. A man that looked like him didn't talk to you. A part of you wondered if Jessica or someone like her had already turned him down, because let's face it, you were always the option but never the priority.
“I think you should share a dance with me, no pretty girl like you should be sitting alone at a wedding”. The flare in your cheeks was visible now, you were sure of it. No matter how low the light was you could have sworn a red glow was emitting from your body, like an accusing halo.
“Paul…you don't have to dance with me, I was just getting ready to leave”. Gathering your belongings as you begin to stand up. “No!”. He said, eyebrows raising to the top of his forehead once he realized how loud he exclaimed. Sheepishly he looked around offering small smiles as an apology to a few of the guests who looked at him like he had three heads.
“Please, I noticed you when I walked in before the ceremony and I haven't been able to shake you from my eyeline all night. I don’t think I can take no for an answer”.
The fact that your heart was still caged behind your chest was an act of god. Because at this point it should have flown away due to how hard it was beating. You were at a loss for words. The thought that someone was putting you first, taking interest in you was unbearable. And you were crumbling at his gaze.
His outstretched hand found yours that you slowly had begun to uncurl from against your body. Swiftly he whisked you out onto the dance floor, pulling your body flush to his.
Clumsily your feat matched his falling into routine with his steps, your body swaying in unison to the light melody. He hummed along softly to the quiet music as he kept a firm grip on you, almost like he was afraid to let you go.
The song ended and awkwardly you looked around not knowing what to do. Paul however looked happy as can be, letting go of your hand but keeping the one on your lower back in place. He led you back to the table where you had spent most of the night, pulling out your chair before you could even react. You thanked him as you sunk into the back of the chair trying to ground yourself.
“Man, I feel like the luckiest guy here at this whole damn wedding I got to dance with the prettiest guest of them all”. He said matter-of-factly triumphantly, taking a sip out of the glass he abandoned when he first approached your table. You scoffed, there was no way he was being for real, the alcohol had to have been getting to him now if he was saying such an untrue statement.
“I think you've had enough”. Your voice was shy and your eyes barely peeked through your almost closed eyelids. The embarrassment you hadn't felt earlier had returned and you were suddenly hyper-conscious of everything happening around you.
“Doll this stuff doesn't make me feel anything, you, however, are making me feel alive for the first time”. His drink was abandoned yet again as he scooted his chair closer, invading your bubble, and causing you to squirm under his gaze yet again.
“Paul, I'm flattered but again I think your choices are impaired. There's no way you feel anything like that for me”.
Paul was out of his chair before you could continue your babbling, cutting you off by capturing your lips in his.
After he pulled back for air his forehead rested against yours, the two of you matching your breathing. You were yet again at a loss for words, kissing the hottest boy at your best friend's wedding was not on this year's bingo card. But as per usual it seems Paul had the perfect thing to say, “My angel forgive me if this is forward, but l you need to let me love you, I have a feeling that you're gonna be stuck with me for a long time”.

Pairing: Wednesday Addams x asthmatic!fem!reader
Summary: A sudden run in with the Hyde induces an asthma attack. Luckily, Wednesday is there to help you.
Warnings: asthma attack(?), this is kinda rushed and not proofread lol, author does not have asthma but tried their best to research, this also makes no sense with the timeline of the show...ignore that<3
Word count: 2.8k
Notes: late post lol but this was a request from two weeks ago. sorry for the wait anon, but i still hope you enjoy!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Having a partner in her investigation was something Wednesday never planned on.
She had started it alone because she was the only one to see Rowan’s death, and apparently, the only one to believe it actually happened.
Besides you.
The first time you approached Wednesday about what happened that night, she simply walked away. But you kept coming back, kept insisting that your knowledge of outcasts and creatures could help her.
After a week of your attempts, she did spill some of the details to you, only because she was desperate for you to just shut up.
But you surprised her. Greatly.
Once she showed you one of Xavier’s paintings she stole, you were the one that correctly identified the monster as a Hyde. You confirmed that the Hyde was indeed a person and that Hydes always acted on the whims of their masters.
Despite her initial impression of you, you had provided crucial information to the case and made yourself an imperative part of it moving forward.
Before she knew it, she was spending more and more time with you.
When she found a new lead, you were informed as soon as possible. Your opinions and insight became important to her, though if you asked her she would vehemently deny that. And your presence in her dorm became so normal, that Enid and Thing would inquire about your whereabouts when you weren’t there.
Though she’d love to say otherwise, the two of you had grown somewhat close. Which is why she wasn’t entirely surprised to find out that you were asthmatic.
The time you spent together allowed her to notice many things about you and she noticed the ways your condition manifested itself in your behaviors within weeks of properly partnering with you.
You tended to avoid strenuous exercise, something she never thought twice about because she too had no love for exercise or physical sports of any kind. But that combined with the rather persistent cough you had some days and the vague panic she saw in your eyes whenever that cough got particularly heavy made her aware that something was off.
Your reasoning for not telling her about it upfront was some ridiculous fear that she would kick you off the investigation if she found out about your asthma.
But she didn’t, she only demanded you give her one of your spare inhalers.
Not because she personally cared about your well-being, that would be ludicrous. She simply wouldn’t allow you to die because of something as pathetic as your own forgetfulness.
You were her partner, after all, and you dying would significantly affect her investigation. Which is the same thought process she followed from that point on when she found herself studying you.
Wednesday would observe you throughout the day, taking note of how clear your breathing was or how much you coughed, and if you were having issues, she would try to deduce why.
Weather conditions, she found, had a particularly damning effect on you. Things like air temperature and density affected your asthma greatly, and the moment she realized this, she began making adjustments to her investigation to better suit your health.
During stormy days when the humidity in the air was almost stifling, she would ask you to help put together a crime board in her dorm.
She would insist on doing research in the library on colder days since the frigid air could be a trigger for you.
The spare inhaler you gave her gained permanent residence in her bag, going everywhere that she did in case there was an emergency of some kind.
And this ended up paying off greatly when the two of you journeyed into the forest to find the cave in one of Xavier’s drawings.
Wednesday was very hesitant to let you come along in the first place.
There was a myriad of factors that fed into her reasoning, your asthma being one of the largest. But your arguments were not without their merit.
The weather was clear, the sun shining bright without a cloud in the sky to impede it, and the Hyde hadn’t made an appearance in weeks. And while that was true, there was still an inherent danger in the situation.
You absolutely refused to take no for an answer, following her around and bothering her (more so than usual) all day.
Part of her still wanted to refuse while another wanted to give up and accept your company. Your guidance and knowledge weren’t necessary for this, especially given your lack of knowledge about the layout of Jericho’s forests.
But as much as she wished it was, Wednesday couldn’t deny that the idea of spending more time with you wasn’t entirely unappealing.
So she gave in and allowed you to join her, on the condition that you both brought along an inhaler for you. You agreed with some light grumbling, and you both set off into the woods.
The two of you had been roaming through the forest for about twenty minutes—Wednesday closely reading Eugene’s directions while you leisurely followed, offering the occasional (bad) joke to fill the silence.
You were in the middle of one of those jokes when a sound in the distance made you both freeze.
Wednesday turned, met your wide eyes, and looked in the direction of the sound. She waited, watching closely for any type of movement.
There was a moment of stillness then a twig snapped, the sound closer than the last. More silence ensued and Wednesday quietly inched toward you, positioning herself in front of you. A beat. Then a long scratching sound cut through the air, like something sharp—a claw perhaps was carving through the bark of a nearby tree.
Wednesday’s hand found your wrist, and she barely had the time to properly look at you before a thunderous roar tore through the forest and she was taking off in the opposite direction, pulling you with her.
Trees whizzed past in a blur as she, and in turn, you raced through the forest. Wednesday wasted no time trying to identify the creature following them. She knew that roar. She heard it the night Rowan died.
It was the Hyde, finally reappeared after weeks of inactivity to antagonize you two. Intentionally? Possibly. But she wasn’t going to fully delve into her theories until both of you were safe.
She didn’t dare look back and risk losing her footing on an unseen tree root or rock, but she could hear the monster giving chase behind her, leading her to increase her pace and tighten her grip on your wrist. The two of you ran at a steady pace for minutes on end, only slowing slightly when Wednesday felt you stumble behind her.
Finally, the sounds of the Hyde’s pursual faded but Wednesday only brought you both to a stop once they had long since stopped and she was sure it wasn’t there anymore.
She ignored the fire coursing through her legs in favor of taking in her surroundings, both watching and listening keenly for any sign of the monster and finding none.
“Alright, I think it’s gone, we should…” Her words faded when she saw you stagger in her peripheral.
Confused, she turned to you and finally took in your state. You were unsurprisingly sweaty and short of breath, but the redness of your face was beginning to give way to an unnatural paleness. Again, you stumbled, your pants turning to choked coughs, and only when she saw your chest stutter did she realize what was happening.
Her confusion morphed into horror, and she was by your side in a second.
She guided you to sit against a nearby tree, and you all but collapsed against the raised roots, harsh wheezes escaping you as your hands fumbled toward your pocket. Wednesday watched, puzzled, as you froze, your eyes widening.
The realization hit her a moment later. Your inhaler was in your right pocket, she knew because she watched you put it there and she was just noticing how flat that pocket now was.
“It isn’t there?”
You started to speak but your chest constricted, swallowing your words, so you instead shook your head violently. The tears in your eyes made Wednesday’s own chest ache, and that pushed her into action.
Tearing her bag off her back, she dug around its contents for your spare inhaler, desperately tossing her things out of the way. She struggled for about twenty seconds before finally finding it.
Like you showed her, she flipped the inhaler upright, shook it firmly, then brought it up to your mouth, her other hand moving to gently cup your cheek.
You breathed in as best you could as she gave a puff, weakly gripping her wrist as you watched her mentally count to thirty. Once she reached thirty, she shook the inhaler again and gave you another puff.
She repeated this process three more times before you shook your head, grip on her wrist tightening. Reluctantly, she dropped her hand and examined you.
Your breath was coming in short, deep gasps, but you were breathing again and that’s all she cared about at the moment. Intent eyes watched as your chest fell and rose from her knees in front of you, refusing to move until she knew for certain it was over.
Eventually, your hand released her wrist, and she hesitantly brought her hand back to her side. You looked up at her, the tears from before gone.
“I-I guess you could say…that you took my breath away,” you gasped out, a smile beginning to form on your face again.
Wednesday rolled her eyes so hard it hurt.
You were fine. She ignored the rush of relief she felt at the fact.
A few minutes passed and, slowly but surely, your breathing began to return to its normal pace. Wednesday observed you closely, eyes still focused on the increasingly steady rise and fall of your chest while her own heart rate decreased.
Shakily, you brought a hand to rest on your stomach, a groan falling from your lips. Wednesday inhaled sharply.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, eyes scanning you hurriedly.
You sighed, tired and heavy.
“I’m hungry.”
Wednesday rolled her eyes again, swallowing a quiet scoff. Of course, you were hungry. When weren’t you?
Shaking her head, she dropped the inhaler back into her bag and slipped it back onto her back. She reached over to grab your arm and stood, pulling you to your feet with her. “Fine, then we’ll get you food when we return to campus.”
“Oh? ‘We’ will?” you drawled, and Wednesday could practically hear the infuriating smirk you had on your face. With a sadistic smile of her own, she turned to you.
“I could always just leave you here. I’m sure you know the way back to Nevermore from here, right?”
Pride surged through her at the way you stammered. She didn’t bother giving you the chance to properly respond, snatching your sleeve and pulling you forward with her. “Let’s go, it’ll be dark soon.”
Knowing you were still a bit shaky on your feet, Wednesday walked slower than usual. It would take longer to get back to school, but there were still a few hours of daylight left so it didn’t matter much.
The walk was quiet. You were less talkative than normal, but she supposed that wasn’t surprising given the circumstances. Every so often she’d peer over at you to make sure you weren’t overexerting yourself in any way and find you just admiring the forest around you. She blamed the warmth in her chest on fatigue.
Throughout the journey, she kept a firm grip on your sleeve, valiantly ignoring the way her heartbeat accelerated whenever her fingers brushed your wrist.
Around an hour later, Nevermore came into view and, as promised, the cafeteria was your first stop upon your return to the school. Dinner was in an hour, so the kitchen staff initially refused to give you anything until dinner.
Wednesday just glared until they gave in.
You ate your food in silence. Wednesday watched your every move only looking away to glare again at the kitchen staff whenever they looked in your direction.
The moment you were finished, she took your sleeve captive again and dragged you to Ophelia Hall. She was bringing you to rest in her dorm, only so she could monitor your state and make sure you didn’t die in her sleep.
When you arrived, she all but yanked you inside, locking the door behind her. She ventured to her desk and set her bag down while you kicked your shoes off and looked around, eyes settling on the other, uglier side of the room.
“Where’s Enid?”
“Doing god knows what with Yoko,” she answered, striding up to you and tugging your blazer off. You sputtered, the beginnings of a question on your tongue but she silenced you with a glare. She hung your blazer on the headboard and pushed you onto her bed.
“Rest.”
You blinked owlishly. “What?”
Jaw clenched, Wednesday grabbed your shoulder and shoved you onto your back. “Lay down and rest. You’re exhausted, I can see it.”
And she could. She easily saw it in the hunch of your shoulders and the way your eyes drooped the moment your head hit her pillow. You looked like you wanted to put up a fight but after another moment of her glaring, you sighed.
“Fine. But only for a bit, I’m not stealing your bed for the night.”
She nodded. “Good.”
Wednesday promptly returned to her desk and sat down, loading a piece of paper into the carriage of her typewriter so she could begin writing. She was already behind because of your voraciousness, she refused to waste any more time.
While she typed her first few sentences, she could feel your eyes on her. She paid it no mind, her focus entirely on her story. Until your voice reached her ears.
“Hey, Wednesday?”
She didn’t even bother to pause her work, addressing you while her fingers moved swiftly across the keys. “What?”
“Do you think you would let me read your novels?”
Wednesday paused her typing, giving you a sideways glance. Her answer should be no. She had never let anyone read her novels (besides incompetent publishers) but the thought of you reading them didn’t fill her with disgust.
She thought about it for another moment, then answered. “Perhaps.”
A soft laugh came from your direction. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see you smiling widely, and it took all of her innate self-control to not turn and look.
She redirected her thoughts to Viper and her current mystery. Thoughts of your laugh were slowly replaced with the bloody crime scene Viper was investigating and just when she was getting back into her rhythm, you spoke up again.
“Wednesday?”
With a sigh, she once again turned away from her typewriter to face you. “Yes?”
“Thank you,” you whispered, sending a sickeningly tender smile in her direction.
Her words caught in her throat, face getting oddly warm at the soft look in your eyes. She forced a nod, taking another moment to just look at you before returning her gaze forward.
Silence overtook the room again, the soft clacking of the typewriter the only sound to be heard. When Wednesday finally gave in and allowed her eyes to drift to you, she found you finally asleep.
You looked relaxed, even the minuscule tension she saw on you throughout the day was absent in your dreamless sleep. The smile you had before you drifted off waned as your muscles relaxed, but the shadow of it remained and Wednesday was still as captivated with it as she was before.
Once again summoning all of her self-control, Wednesday tore her eyes off of you and set them back on her typewriter, still intent on finishing her dedicated hour for her novel.
By the end of her writing hour, she had only managed to finish five pages. Meager compared to her usual daily output, but she couldn’t bring herself to be upset when you were feet away from her, sleeping in her bed without a worry in the world.
She didn’t look at you directly but she did push her chair back a bit and turn it in your direction, quietly grabbing a book she was in the middle of and flipping it open on her lap.
Wednesday placidly skimmed the pages while taking small, occasional glances at you over the book. Just to make sure you were still breathing, of course.
As she read, her mind constantly went back to your question from earlier. Should she grace you with the opportunity to read her work? A brief internal debate gave her the answer she was searching for.
Turning, Wednesday opened a drawer in her desk and pulled out the manuscript for her first novel, setting it on her desk beside her. When you woke up, she would give it to you along with a gruesome threat to your life if you made any stupid comments or told anyone about her letting you read it.
(Begrudgingly, she looked forward to hearing your thoughts on her story.)
Until then, she would keep watch and continue to make sure that nothing brought your demise before she did.

Figuring Out Lonnie’s Whole Deal
(Or, assembling a timeline of pre-show events inspired by a culmination of theories centering around one Lonnie Byers)
After spending much time deliberating and theorizing, I’ve come to what I believe is a solid timeline of events relating to Lonnie Byers grounded in evidence from the show.
Now I don’t have all of the pieces, but also if I had all of the pieces then I wouldn’t need to be theorizing in the first place. Still, I’m fairly confident in my assessment. Maybe it would be wise of me to wait for The First Shadow to come out to give me more information, but for all intents and purposes of this I will only be looking at evidence within the text of the show. So no cast or crew comments, no supplemental materials, and as much as I love it, no speculation regarding TFS. Still, I think the show has enough evidence to support my assertion.
Things to establish:
A lot of what I’m about to talk about comes from a basis of these three things—
1. Will and El’s storylines mirror each other, which I charted out here. Their stories share a lot of differences, and a lot of similarities.
2. Powers are being used in this show to explore themes of sexuality through a sci-fi/supernatural lens. I talk about this in length here, but tl;dr El’s powers are used to explore the exploitation and reclamation of female sexuality, and Will’s powers are being used to show the demonization and repression of homosexuality.
3. Oh yeah, and Will has powers, by the way.
Surface Level Information We Are Given About Lonnie Byers:
It might be best to have a refresher of what we know about Lonnie Byers. Most of this comes from season one and all of it is displayed directly to the audience—
Lonnie is the absentee father of Jonathan and Will and ex-husband of Joyce
He left his family at an unspecified date that led Jonathan and Will to build Castle Byers the night of
He currently lives in Indianapolis
He used to call Will homophobic slurs
Joyce once argued with him about not showing up to a visitation with Will
Jonathan and Joyce do not speak of him fondly. Will’s feelings are unclear but seem positive “It’s fun to go with him sometimes”
Expressed interest in wanting to see Jonathan more
Referred to Joyce as “babe” despite being apart and having another girlfriend
Did not take Joyce’s calls to his house
Doubted Joyce, took down her Christmas lights and tried to repair the hole in the wall
Has unspecified debts
Likes to fix cars
Doesn’t like cops
Tried to use his “dead” son for lawsuit money
Was kicked out by Joyce and hasn’t been seen on screen since
Things to glean from just below the surface:
The following are things that are not stated directly, but can be easily inferred from clues given in show—
Lonnie is likely an alcoholic, shown through an abundance of beer bottles littering his house. Even if he splits it between him and his tiny girlfriend, it’s still an absurd amount of beer for two people. It’s possible he may have other addictions as well.
Lonnie was likely physically abusive towards Jonathan given his “You’ve gotten stronger” comment in the house. It’s possible that the extent of his abuse could stretch far beyond that for both Jon and Will.
Will likely used to hide from his dad. Jonathan and Will built Castle Byers the night he left, which Jonathan remarks that Will likes to hide in. Not to mention the “he’s good at hiding” comment.
Tumblr media
The rest of this post is going to be much more speculative, but it’s all speculation that is grounded in what we see on and just below the surface.
Theory #1) Lonnie was involved with MK-ULTRA
This was an idea that I tossed around a while ago, that after spending time with and finding new evidence I’ve now grown more confident in.
Most of this confidence comes from this conversation between Becky and Jopper. Becky tells Hop that him and Terry would have gotten along, as Terry didn’t like authority or the government— “The Man , with a big capital M.” (which is ironic given Hopper is a cop)
Tumblr media
When discussing who was involved with MK-ULTRA, Becky mentions “people like [Terry]”
Tumblr media
So people like Terry, who maybe don’t like authority as was just mentioned?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It seems as though the Byers have always been down on their luck in terms of finance. Would it be hard to believe that, especially given the close proximity of the lab to the Byers house and Lonnie's willingness to get money in the show, Lonnie might have partaken in a paid study in the past? ("You were in it for the money!")
Above I mentioned the implication that Lonnie is an alcoholic. If he was involved with a study involving hard drugs, could he have developed addiction problems through the program? Furthermore, wouldn't it also make sense for Lonnie to gain a mistrust of authority after being taken advantage of by the government?
In my initial post about it I discuss how this could be foreshadowed through Hopper’s past as well. Hopper was involved with something government related that required chemicals, something that ended up affecting his child.
Tumblr media
Theory #2) Lonnie was working with the lab during season one
Another part of proving Lonnie’s MK-ULTRA involvement is his connection with the lab. Everything that I’m about to list could align perfectly with Lonnie simply just being a shitty ex and father, but everything that I’m about to list could also align perfectly with the idea that Lonnie was working with the lab against Joyce the entire season.
1) Lonnie’s fishiness with Joyce’s phone call
I’ve already made an entire post about this here but I’ll recap all of the important bits.
Right before we see Joyce call Lonnie in the first episode, we are shown the lab spying on her conversation explicitly. Joyce is then sent to voicemail, which given the ordering of scenes makes me wonder if the lab purposefully intercepted her call.
Joyce also never actually talks to Lonnie on the phone. Cynthia picks up until their call is disconnected, which could have been Cynthia but also could have been the lab interfering again.
When Jonathan confronts Lonnie about not returning Joyce’s call, he kind of shrugs off his answer.
Tumblr media
Why the hesitancy at first, Lonnie?
Lonnie tells Jonathan that he’s talked to police, which is likely, but then adds a comment that makes me question if he talked to any Hawkins cops at all.
Tumblr media
Why do you need to ask if Hopper is chief, if Hawkins police came to question you, Lonnie?
2) The timing of Lonnie showing up in Hawkins
Even after being told this his own son is missing, Lonnie does not show up in town until after—
Will’s “body” is found in the quarry
Joyce refuses to sign off on the fake body
Joyce actually speaks to and is able to see Will through the hole in the wall
The next time we see Joyce is when Lonnie pulls up that night at the Byers house. Here is what Lonnie does while he’s there:
Tells Joyce that Will is in her head
Tell Jonathan not to feed into Joyce’s “delusions”
Takes down the Xmas lights that Joyce was using to talk to Will
Covers the hole in the wall that Joyce saw Will through
Unsuccessfully tries to convince Joyce to use Will’s "death" for money
All of these actions align perfectly with Lonnie’s character, do you also see how it also aligns perfectly with Lonnie trying to purposefully cover up the truth?
We don’t see Joyce call Lonnie to come over and I highly doubt that Jonathan asked him to come. Granted, Lonnie was most likely notified by police of Will’s death, why not come right away? Why wait until after Joyce refuses to believe that it’s Will’s body and after she actually sees Will alive in her walls?
Remember that the lab had likely bugged her house as well, given the scene where Hop finds a bug in his cabin.
Think about the timing of when the lab decided to place Will’s body in the quarry and have it found, something that we know for a fact was their doing. This comes after Joyce had discovered the ability to talk to Will through the lights and right after the writing on the wall scene, when Joyce was coming closer to the truth.
If a lab personnel showed up at the Byers, took down the lights and hammered over the wall, that would obviously draw a lot of suspicion towards them. But if the lab could get someone on the inside to do it, perhaps an ex-spouse that can be easily manipulated with cash and already had connections to them, that wouldn’t raise an eyebrow.
That’s also where the lawsuit comes in. If the lab is paying off Lonnie and his family, they can’t just give them the a ton of cash directly, it would likely have to go through a third party under the guise of something else, like a legal suit. I’m willing to bet all my money that the suit Lonnie wanted to file on the Sattlers was just another cover from the lab.
Theory #3) Lonnie was trying to hand Will over to the lab
Another note about Terry, if Will and El are mirrors then Lonnie and Terry may possibly be mirrors, too. If Terry was desperate to get El out of the lab then maybe Lonnie was desperate to get Will into the lab. Also the difference between Terry's daughter being taken from her/Lonnie voluntarily leaving his own son.
Something we know about Lonnie Byers— he was homophobic towards Will and did not want to visit him after he had left.
Something else we know about Lonnie Byers— he likes to fix cars.
Tumblr media
We have confirmation that Lonnie was trying to “fix” Will, at least in a less aggressive manner, by taking him to baseball games. Jonathan says explicitly, “He’s trying to force you to like normal things.” This line is so incredibly loaded, what Jonathan is saying below the surface is "He's trying to force you to like girls."
Tumblr media
The above scene is in the same episode where Jonathan goes to Lonnie’s Indianapolis house, and we get a line from Lonnie about him fixing up a car.
Yes, Will is being compared to a car. Lonnie wants to fix him.
And remember, Will has powers, and powers are being used as a way to explore sexuality.
So given Lonnie’s connection with the lab from MK-ULTRA as expressed before, along with Lonnie’s hatred of Will and homophobia, along along with powers as a metaphor for Will's queerness, it leads me to believe that Lonnie was trying to cure Will of his powers through the lab. This would essentially be the supernatural version of gay conversion therapy.
I want to talk about the word “mistake”
Tumblr media
This word is so potent and really sticks out because we haven’t really seen it used in this way on the show before. The writers could have had Will say “monster” to relate to El's arc, or they could have had him say “freak” which would not only relate to Eddie but is something that Will has called himself in the past. But instead they decide to give him a new word that is different from the labels other characters give themselves.
The word mistake is unique to Will.
What do you do with mistakes? You fix them.
I have a lot of fun with Will-being-a-lab-kid theories, and nothing but absolute love to those who make them, but after doing a lot of my own thinking I’ve since come to the conclusion that Will didn’t grow up in the lab at all, but Lonnie was making an unsuccessful effort to ship Will to the lab. Part of El and Will’s narrative mirroring is Will coming from a normal background while El does not.
Which isn’t to say that the lab didn’t want Will, I think they very much did. I’ve seen the take that Lonnie tried to hand Will to the lab but he didn’t display powers at the time so they wouldn’t take him. But do you really think that that would stop them from wanting him anyway, especially if the boys father was giving him to them willingly? Do you really think that Martin “you wouldn’t stop” Brenner was gonna turn down another child? That someone was willing to give to him?
So then, if Lonnie was willing to give Will to the lab and the lab was willing to take him, what was stopping them?
For starters, I’m guessing that the process involved in receiving a new test subject, especially one that wasn’t born into the lab, would take patience. They can’t just nab Will off the street. They would probably have to surveil things for a while, gain intel from Lonnie, and come up with a strategy.
A strategy that may involve falsifying an accident, a fake body, and the funneling of money via fake lawsuit?
I’m not saying that the lab was the ones behind Will’s disappearance, at least initially. I think the mothergate opening was completely unpredictable from their end and instead necessitated the plan to be accelerated due to sudden unforeseen circumstances, as well as taking advantage of Will’s presence in the Upside Down to try and take him for themselves.
So why wait until now? If they had an airtight plan, why not act sooner?
Could there have been an incident, perhaps, with the lab, which happened prior to Will’s disappearance, that may have delayed this process?
Tumblr media
I’m willing to bet that a mass death event of majority of the test subjects and personnel from the place that Lonnie was trying to send Will to, might be enough to put the brakes on this operation, if not on delay for a few years so they can regroup.
While we’re here, I wanna talk about Will’s similarities to Henry Creel
The comparisons between Henry and Will aren’t something hidden under the layers for only die hard theorists to find, this is something that everyone and their mothers were discussing on twitter. The similarities were noticeable even from casual viewing.
Tumblr media
Image via Reddit
We know from his monologue that Henry’s mother knew he had powers and wanted to send him away to a doctor, a doctor that we later learn was actual Papa Brenner.
Tumblr media
If Will and Henry are similar, is it possible that their parents wanted similar things? The main difference being that Will actually did evade Dr. Brenner.
Furthermore, is it possible that Will has powers similar to One’s and that the lab could have been knowledgeable of this? If that is the case, it may stand to reason that they might be hesitant to bring in someone with similar abilities to the guy who just killed a bunch of people.
I used to think that Will and Henry had to have completely different sets of powers, and while I do think that Will may have abilities unique to himself, given how they are compared I do think that Will may have similar powers to him. In fact, we may have already seen Will display a traveling into the mind ability in season one.
Tumblr media
Theory #3.5) Lonnie’s departure correlates with the Hawkins Lab massacre
If Lonnie was desperate to get rid of the son he hates, and then was told that there was an unexpected delay, it would make sense for him to give up and leave town.
There’s been comments from cast and crew in the past regarding when exactly Lonnie left, but it’s never been confirmed in show.
Evidence for why I think it coincides with the massacre actually comes from the shed scene.
Joyce first mentions Will’s eighth birthday, which would have been in March of 1979. The massacre was in September of 1979.
Tumblr media
Mentioning his eighth birthday specifically places emphasis on that age. Jonathan then follows Joyce by talking about the night dad left.
Tumblr media
We don’t get an exact timeframe or age, but the fact that this follows the story if Will’s eighth birthday does create a correlation with that age. We then switch timeframes when Mike brings up kindergarten.
Think about it, if their dad had left when Will was eight, bringing up his age again would be redundant because Joyce just mentioned it. Mike mentions kindergarten to let us know that this is a different time and age that we’re talking about.
Let’s talk about Lonnie’s debts
Tumblr media
What exactly these debts are that Joyce brings up is never specified. And it could be anything. Maybe a loan he took out, drug or gambling debts, since nothing is stated it’s all possible. But here’s my take:
Will is Lonnie’s debt. That’s what he owes.
Remember that the exact way that Lonnie was going to pay back these debts was with Will. He is linked with this debt conversation.
It is Joyce who brings up the debt, but since she doesn’t specify there’s a reasonable doubt that she herself doesn’t know the specifics. She could know that Lonnie is indebted to someone but not know what/could have been lied to.
I’m imagining the lab giving Lonnie some kind of advanced payment for Will, with the promise that they’ll eventually have him. It would be a way for the lab to control Lonnie. He now owes them, and the lab expects to collect their debts. Despite the lab and Lonnie having similar goals, there is definitely a power imbalance.
Lonnie does want a family, just not one with Will in it
More thorough post here, but in season one we get indications in Lonnie's dialogue that he does want to be around his family, like expressing interest in seeing Jonathan more and calling Joyce "babe," which seems to contradict him living in another town, or hell even leaving his family at all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Joyce gets mad with Lonnie over the phone about not coming to visit, it was specifically a Will visitation day. It's seeming more and more that Lonnie's departure is centered on Will. (Which doesn't take away from any of the potential abuse he hurled at Jonathan or Joyce. He doesn't care about their interests, only his. Furthermore, I'm not placing blame onto Will for Lonnie's absence. That is all Lonnie's doing)
Am I saying that Lonnie has powers?
Well, maybe.
That is something that I’ve been wondering if Lonnie had powers, which granted is something that relied heavily on speculation regarding TFS which I said I wanted to stay away from for this post. Since I don’t have all the pieces yet, I want to consider as many options as possible.
Option A) Lonnie was born with powers, and MK-ULTRA was simply how he became acquainted with the lab/his powers were repressed and MK-ULTRA activated them
Option B) Lonnie received powers from MK-ULTRA and passed it on to Will
Option C) Lonnie was not born with powers nor received powers from MK-ULTRA but it did give him super-powered sperm
May I remind you of Lonnie's comparison to Terry from earlier in the post, and the fact that Terry herself does have powers.
Tumblr media
I oftentimes see the theory that Joyce herself has powers, and I myself even theorized that her Aunt Darlene may have had powers. However I'm more inclined to believe that Joyce is a carrier of this gene rather than having powers herself. Most of the evidence used to suggest that she has powers comes from Joyce reacting to what Will is showing her. There's also no indication that Jonathan has any powers.
If Lonnie participated in MK-ULTRA after Jonathan was born, then it could explain why Will would have powers and not Jonathan. Moreover, having both a mother who is a carrier and a father with powers/nuked balls would likely have a higher chance of having a powered child. (That's how genetics work, right? Please forgive me if my science is wrong.)
Notes on Lonnie's character
You'll note that there are multiple times in this post where I acknowledge that I lot of Lonnie's actions are explainable because of his identity as a shitty guy, and maybe that's all this is. However, I want to explain why having this type of character is actually perfect for a reveal like this.
In order to pull off a successful reveal, you have to hide the truth while also giving enough information so it doesn't come out of nowhere. Lonnie's personality allows for the truth to be hidden in plain sight.
Let's say that Lonnie was actually an upstanding man. Jonathan and Joyce both had fond memories of him, but he left in the past for some unknown reason. Lonnie was always a great husband, but for some reason he's doubting Joyce and taking down her Christmas lights even when she asks him not to.
Do you see how that would create a huge plot hole? How season one would feel incomplete? How it would create a giant unanswered question that needs answering?
Why didn't Joyce know about any of this?
Unfortunately we are told pretty explicitly in season one as to why something like this could have been happening under Joyce's nose. We are told in the first episode that Joyce works long hours, leaving early in the morning and not coming home until later in the night. Jonathan is expected to get Will up, make breakfast, and take him to school. My guess is that Lonnie may have been in charge of such tasks when he was still home.
Tumblr media
If Lonnie was, say, taking Will to the lab for some preliminary tests or meetings, he could have easily done this while Joyce was at work or while Jonathan was in school.
We even hear from Joyce herself that she hasn't been keeping up with Jonathan, she isn't in the know how with her sons. (This is not me calling Joyce a bad mother btw, this is definitely a symptom of capitalism rather than bad parenting.)
Tumblr media
Why doesn't Will say anything?
If Will was being taken to the lab for appointments in the past, wouldn't he say something about it? Especially to El, who grew up in the lab?
Well, there's a chance that Will doesn't remember this.
Longer post here, but we are given a scene in season four where Will expresses not remembering something from his childhood very well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which I could write off as Will being too little to remember this small detail, but this is also coming from the same season where we just got an entire plot line about memories from El's past being erased. (El who, as I stated in the beginning, has a storyline that mirrors Will's)
The Final Timeline
Tl;dr, or, the timeline written out chronologically:
Lonnie marries Joyce and has Jonathan. Jonathan is born without powers
Lonnie becomes involved with MK-ULTRA sometime prior to Will's birth as a way to make money
Joyce and Lonnie have Will, who was born with powers
When Will is very young Lonnie knows that he has powers
Lonnie begins taking Will to the lab in hopes of curing him
Lonnie and the lab strike a deal that involve taking Will in exchange for money
There is a plan to take Will involving a fake accident. Lonnie will file a fake lawsuit in order to exchange the money and avoid suspicion
The Hawkins Lab massacre happens and the plan is delayed
Lonnie leaves
Mothergate is opened by El and Will is taken
Upon realizing that Will is in the Upside Down, the plan moves forward with Lonnie in on it
Things don't go as expected and Joyce is on to Will being alive, so the lab asks Lonnie to come home in order to help with coverup
Joyce is infuriated about the lawsuit and kicks Lonnie out
The rest of the season follows as we see on screen and the labs plan unravels, some of the personnel is killed by El and the demogorgon in the school

Tokyo Revengers: Family Matter
Hey dust bunnies, I’m not active I know it, but it takes a lot of time writing and studying for residency school, I disfrute this inspiration to say you something, I really really missed the interaction we used to have for this fandom, most of my absence is caused because of this, so please if you decide to read this stories please pass by my inbox, write me, interact with me, reblog, I really need to vibe with you again, I love you and your support! And thanks for letting me reach 2.5 followers despite everything 💜
Characthers: Hajime Kokonoi, Takashi Mitsuya, Ran Haitani
Plot: They react to s/o who can’t have children
Warnings:  Angst to Fluff, Reset Timeline, Mention of Depression, Endometriosis, Infertility, Chronic Disease, Mentions of Sex (In Mitsuya), Breeding Kink (Only Mitsuya), Adoption
A.N: This is most of all a self indulgent story since I suffer endometriosis, so y/n works as a doctor. While this scenario is minor interact, if you’re under 18 skip Mitsuya’s part since there’s a smut!
Tumblr media
“Koko I’m going to work…” you say while you stand on your feet after the doctor comes out from the ambulatory, your husband looks into your lucid eyes and takes your wrist blocking you, “Love this isn’t the right time to work” he says while you stare into the void of the hospital ward, nurses wave at you and you give them a little smile knowing them for a long time, “My shift isn’t finished, I gotta-” arms takes you and turn you over to his chest giving you the privacy to shed my tears without feeling judged, a doctor can’t cry in front of patients and colleagues, he knows you don’t like showing vulnerability, that’s why he waits that your tears stop to stream while rubbing your back and reassuring that everything is going to be fine.
You and Koko devoted yourself to your works, many of the reasons you get to work perfectly as a couple were your drive to success and beside that the love for shopping and expensive items. You knew you suffered endometriosis but back then, none of the doctors told you to be worried about your fertility, but once you started to get sick again you scheduled a visit and knew for a fact that there was few to none possibilities to bear a child.
Afraid to be rejected from your husband because of this you started to cry but that’s where your husband console you and say “We can always try alternative-'' he says thinking you want to a have a child, “No Koko - I don’t want to try, unless you tell me that’s what you want…”, Koko’s snake eyes wide “y/n it’s your body and it’s your life, I don’t want to force you to do anything against your will, do you understand me lullamy?”. The nick he gave you puts a smile on your face, “I understand, I’m sorry Haji, I thought you wouldn’t want to be with me in a situation like this”, a pout appears on his face “Is this why you were crying? I couldn’t never do something like this, I love you, I love your personality and that won’t change even if it will be just the two of us” you nod kissing his cheek and taking his hand you go towards your ward announcing that you’re going to take a break because you need time with your husband.
How does it end up? You never actively tried for a pregnancy and that didn’t change after discovering your condition, but during a visit to Shimoda where you were treating some kids you got to know an orphan, that’s how Hiname entered your lives and you couldn’t be happier to be parents finally.
Tumblr media
The successful career you and Mitsuya got to strive for, gave you a lot of stress, sex was the best recipe you could have on your days off.
“Just like that my love, I’m gonna cum” Mitsuya says taking your hips and meeting your thrust to arrive deeper in your pussy, his lips give you hickeys on your shoulder and back neck and a hand can’t help but reach a nipple while rubbing a clit from behind, you arch your back by going up and down finally coming undown you feel his seed shooting deep inside your womb.
“Taka, do you want to have children?” you say all sweaty while caressing his abs and looking at him in aftersex glow, the pants alters and Mitsuya smiles while turning to look at you and kisses your forehead, “Why do you ask that?” he says with his charming smile while caressing your cheek, “It’s just that you always cum inside me” you say with tinted cheeks avoiding his gaze, “I mean I never thought about it, I just love to finish inside you, is this a problem?” he asks, tilting his head and taking you to your bathroom.
“I mean no, I can’t get pregnant anyway” you say making him falter, “Taka?” you say looking at him who seems deep in thought, you seem calm but something tells him you’re feeling quite anxious about it, “Love, I’m sure we can live happy even without having children, plus Draken and all the others will be having theirs, I think we could the perfect cool aunt and uncle who spoils the kids everytime we see them” he says while gently placing you in the hot tub and caressing your lower belly, “Never feel ashamed about your condition, you’re perfect the way you are” turning and kissing him on his lips you deepen as soon as you whisper “So are you Takashi Mitsuya” and you resume what you finished minute before.
How does it end up? You and Mitsuya became the cool uncles, everytime the parents and previous Toman members need free time you support them by taking care of the kids, who love you. You adopted two cats as time passed by and you got a little bit more free time. Both of you go to volunteer at the kindergarten and help the teacher with the kids. You became one of the philanthropists for the Endometriosis Association and Mitsuya often goes on tv to make awareness of the illness, despite that you’re happy with your work and you still have a lot of sex!
Tumblr media
“Is something the matter, pretty?” Ran asks you as soon as you hop into the car and stare at Rindou and his son waving goodbye with his chubby hand, “Rindou’s baby is so cute” you say now turning your gaze in front of you avoiding purple inquisitorial eyes, “Do you want to have kids with me? Get you knocked up?” Ran says with a smirk caressing you while the other hand occupies the steering wheel and turns on the left, “Not that you would make it” you say lowering your gaze. Ran noticed the sudden change of humor and it brings to his mind that you always replied that you didn’t want children, so why are you acting like this? “You wanna tell me what you’re thinking? I’m serious now” he says, parking in front of your house and exhaling a breath as you get out, “There’s nothing to talk about!” you continue taking the keys and opening the door. Ran follows you lazily and takes his coat off, he looks for you and finds you in your bedroom taking off your dress and staring at your surgery’s scars, they’re small and no one would notice them unless they stare close enough.
TIME BACK 4 YEARS
“What's these, pretty?” Ran says caressing your naked body and longing his eyes to the mini scars in your lower stomach “Endometriosis” you simply say as if it's nothing important, “Did it hurt?” he continues while touching the scars softly and feeling as he wants to know more, “It still does, but I’m used to it now” you say while caressing his purple hair and looking at him with voidly eyes, “You’re even stronger than I thought you would be” he says before getting close to your lips and kissing you as to reassure you.
PRESENT
“Do you remember the second time we had sex I noticed them” he says while hugging you from behind and caressing them just like he did that time, “I know for a fact that it’s difficult to handle the disease, I can see it with my own eyes but what I miss is why you would feel like that after seeing babies” he states calmly while putting your hair to the side and kiss your neck, “I don’t want children, I’m happy with what I achieved until now, it’s just that I don’t like judging stares from families at work, and I don’t like that even if I would want to try I don’t have the possibility to conceive” you say with a frown as a child unsatisfied with what she has. It’s greedy and egoistic what you say but Ran can’t help but smirk, he feels like falling in love all over again with the young girl that despite the difficulties she could take everything she wants, in his own eyes your greediness is what makes you move forward and achieve all that you want. “My love, there’s something else that you miss despite being the most powerful girl out there” he says while taking something out of his pocket and showing a diamond and continues “That’s to marry me and become even more powerful” with a smile you give him your hand and he puts the ring on your finger “I would gladly become a Haitani if this means I get to enjoy our lives until death tears us apart” you say before kissing him and thanking him to be your rock in difficult times.
How does it end up? You and Ran are the classic rich couple who goes every weekend on holiday if you aren’t working. Everyone still judges you but as time passes by you learnt that most of them are just jealous and that your nephews love you almost like Rindou and their mother. You enjoy your mundane life and despite sometimes you would think how it would be your life with a blonde girl in it, you and Ran always have a smile even after years of marriage and most of your years spent together behind you.

Hi you’re not rude at all! It makes me so happy when people tell me they are interested in my ocs 💖 their timeline is pretty simple!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They met when they were in high school, were best friends but Rohan always had a crush sentiment on Hana —> then they both went to Britechester! Rohan and Hana graduated with a culinary & an art degree. They both tried to move on by briefly separating & dating other people (which I didn’t show, I had other things in mind 😞) but eventually he asked her out which lead to the recent posts. He left because he’s an ambitious, adventurous sim that was offered a better career opportunity & Hana was tired because they I moved around so damn much. So they broke up.

Transformers au- I had this idea a bit ago of a bumblebee au it’s essentially all the bumblebees are the same bumblebee it starts with g1 bumblebee dying and waking up in cybertron recently coming from the allspark (either idw or bay verse first ) I thought about making in Optimus….but I feel like having g1 bumblebee slowly relive his life in different universes leaves more room for character growth. As bumblebee is more childish and kind….while the way this would go Optimus would already went through a lot of character growth. by the war for cybertron trilogy he’s just done and wants to stay as far away from the war as possible…what makes this funny is that after idw ,idw star screams ghost follows him between universes and now there’s two starscreams… I just love their dynamic and couldn’t keep it to just idw series and starscream will often make snarky comments about his other selves….mostly prime starscream in season three. He also talks smack about alot of the other Autobots particularly animated Sentinal whom is paying for bayverse Sentinal and idw Sentinal’s actions in the form of a ghost and a mini bot bullying him.
G1 goes pretty much the same , idw is bumblebee trying to figure out what the heck happened while slowly becoming wary of humans (why are these ones so mean?! The ones from my original timeline were nice ) becoming a ghost and being seen by only starscream will be explored more as I feel like in this he will be the first to find out. And unfortunately will still become a ghost :(.
Bayverse is bumblebee waking up in the middle of a war with starscream screaming at him to figure what the heck happened to which when bumblebee learns how to talk as he was just found as a sparkling in some rubble (I love the idea of bayverse Optimus finding Bumblebee in some rubble and adopting him really adorable) just looks at him like “yes I can see you and two this isn’t the first time this happened which just has ghostscream shouting “what do you mean?!” They still friends and the autobots just think bumblebee made an imaginary friend this arc is pretty much just Starscream or now dubbed ghostscream adjusting to being dragged along on bumblebees adventures….even though his best friend is now a sparkling heck he’s in the body of a sparkling. Yeah…the whole voice box either getting ripped out or damaged beyond repair trend has got him screaming out in fear but always to late to warn bumblebee. Magic changes to this is bumblebee being absolutely done.in the second movie he be thinking when Sam tries to convince him to go back to Optimus is ‘no please I don’t want to be dragged back into that shit again.’ He and ghostscream do eventually learn to use sign language in this. Ghostscream be seeing these decepticons just being evil for no reason and is like “atleast we had a reason what the heck?!” Ghostscream also hates the humans and will absolutely shout “Finally! We can show them a thing or to for constantly picking fight with autobots who knew if you pushed hard enough they’d fight back-oh wait I did!”
Animated has the most changes just from bumblebees personality alone. Bumblebee in this would be quiet calm, kind and diplomatic….but also an absolute menace when it comes to Sari. He would be more adept in the boot camp (which I feel in he would be dragged into) and would leave with Bulkhead when he was kicked out of the boot camp. He wouldn’t suspect Wasp for being a Decepticon spy because in IDW he was a part of spec ops. Leaving because he wanted a break from all the drama (which ghostscream wholeheartedly agrees with after the whole Bayverse drama ) only to be screaming in his head when he finds out he’s apart of Optimus’s team he now knows things will end up going to sh*t soon but he decides to enjoy a break while he can. Him being more calm despite his young age changes most of the character dynamics. (I feel like the older bot’s would think something bad happened in his sparklinghood that made him the way he is ) This would also have a heavy hit on the plot as one of the Allspark shards makes ghost scream semi-visible and able to be heard but still not able to be touched. Yea…that will be alot of explaining to do. You know that black stuff that shows Bumblebee didn’t leave his prison dimension fine and dandy that most likely killed Omega Suprime yea that shows up when he’s angry and longarm/shockwave notices that won't be good…
Primverse has ghostscream hating on Megatron even more (he followed his other self to the nemesis only to see Megatron jab a Chrystal into his spark chamber with no care on how it would effect him he is screeching his head off at how unsafe that was to bumblebee later whom started using sign language again. Cue more bullying and Unicon stating something about bumblebees weird death touch thing. I also feel during out of his head Meagtron finds out about Ghost scream. Due to Ghostscream telling him to get out of bee’s f*king head. He then reveals the other being that resides around bumblebee which then in turn allows the rest of the team to figure it out.. The kids end up asking ghostscream a lot of questions and bumblebee would translate for star scream and Raf will translate for bee. Will also cover robt and the games when I come up for ideas for this
The war for cybertron trilogy is just a bunch of misadventurss of bee and ghost scream avoiding the factions and attempting to stay neutral (then the alpha trion protocol happens and bee has another voice in his head telling him to go be Optimus’s friend which is another time of Ghostscream screaming in the background )
Cyber verse is a trip because bee losing his voice but also because wind blade is there. And bumblebee loses his memorys which the first arc of this would be ghostscream desperately trying to find out how to help him. I think it would be funny if Starscream got dragged into bees he's as well during those sections, just for the giggles of wind blades reaction. Starscream would also find out about ghost him hilarity ensues. Bumblebee probably tried a lot for the revolution to still happen but not the war. Cheetor also knows cause he can weirdly sense ghost screams spark
The new movie verse also is. a trip because bumblebees Coma Sector 7 is horrible to Bee and ghost scream knowing his ‘friend’ is alive but in a coma….he likes Charlie because they were kind and weren't like…most of the other humans. Bee has to get used to the name change till he can find a valid way to change it with weird looks on what the heck a bumblebee is. Rotb is a trip due to Mirage ( they aren't used to middle-child Mirage) and Bumblebee dying..again. This universe is going to give Ghostscream a panic attack
Earth spark is just. Bumblebee doesn't care anymore eye just wants to live with his new family in peace so whenever a Decepticon shows up around him it's more of a “you can stay at my place but if you do anything to harm my kids I will end you” :) He’s…… just indifferent at this point There's probably going to be a bit which is just Bee and the kids (and ghoatscream) hiding the Decepticons from Megs and Optimus when asked why he's doing this he just says “I agreed with a lot of the stuff the Decepticons said at the start of the war but a lot of stuff happened and I ended up siding with the Autobots and being on earth has taught me the difference between nice organisations and shady and most likely are evil ones and Ghost isas shady as they come”. He seen how most organizations treat their kind and he sees the signs in ghost. Surprisingly this makes him a lot of new friends and the kids just look at bee and find themselves agreeing with him. They eventually meet ghostscream via science experiments and ghostscream is like “you kids are cool” because he is also indifferent at this point
Might make this story to help get rid of my writers block :)

@more-than-a-princess
In the days following the hospital incident with Togami, Shinobu had been deeply sure that Sonia Nevermind would want little more to do with her. It had been been their own selfish, short-sighted actions that had led to her stay on Jabberwock Island, for however long that would be, becoming less pleasant and more difficult, after all. And yet, despite that regrettable day, things had settled into a kind of routine. In the mornings, Shinobu made tea for Sonia and Miss Tsumiki, and spent some time in Sonia's room. In the afternoons, she worked as usual, assisting where she could, and in the evenings, she worked on cleaning and fixing up Sonia's cabin.
There were worse routines, and even after Sonia had been discharged, there was a sense of rhythm and structure to her day that hadn't always been there. That Sonia didn't find her presence loathsome was a welcome surprise, and one that Shinobu hoped not to take for granted. At the same time, it seemed Future Foundation had tried to forget Sonia, given how she'd be leaving on an accelerated timeline, and her classmates were often busy or working their own traumas out. Shinobu knew, intimately, that she was not the person who Sonia Nevermind most wished to spend time with, of course. If there was any comfort, peace, or companionship to be offered, though, she'd endeavor to offer it.
She imagined that the sun was close to setting, if it hadn't already, though the oppressive grey of the sky filled with dark, ominous clouds made it hard to tell. The weather had been awful - by the standards of people who judged rain as 'awful' - all day, and seemed to show no signs of letting up. It was a rarity, apparently, on an island like this, so out of the way of the typical storm paths, and yet even the walk to Sonia's cabin some hours earlier had been accompanied by cool, stinging rain, howling winds, and the distant, angry rumblings of thunder.
Her blazer hung over the shower curtain beside a towel that she'd used to dry off, while the patter of rain against the windows had only intensified since she'd come inside. Were they sensible, Shinobu would have moved to leave some while ago, but their blazer hadn't dried, and they'd yet to finish their tea, and they imagined that the golf cart drove poorly in wet sand, and thus Sonia likely hadn't left the house, and so perhaps she was lonely, and a host of other reasons compelled her to recalculate her schedule to allow for only a few minutes more, again and again.
"Mm," Shinobu murmured to herself, taking her blazer and inspecting it as though it would stay dry for even a moment outside. "Well that's good, at least." Holding it beneath her arm, she looked to Sonia, seated on her bed, crutches laid against the wall. "I enjoyed our evening, so I regret cutting it short, Miss Nevermind, but it doesn't appear as though the storm is going to end anytime soon. It's for the best that I leave for my lodgings now, rather than face the possibility that it might get worse." Indeed, with her diminished constitution, too much time in the cold would fare poorly for her health regardless, but if the wind picked up any further, it might be enough to topple her over.
Not that she intended, of course, to leave Sonia empty-handed. "Some of the engineers gave me their assurances about the island's generators, so hopefully there won't be any loss of power even on this side of the island." With a gentle hand, they gestured to the backpack they'd brought, laid near Sonia's bed for easy access without needing to stand. "If any lights go out, though, there are extra light bulbs, as well as a flashlight and spare batteries if the worst does come to pass."
Truthfully, she would like to impose upon Sonia a little while longer, but that wasn't her place, and Anzu would likely shatter her eardrums if she did. Thunder boomed outside, prompting from the archer a hum as she thought. Yes, she'd already stayed far too long, and would pay for it one way or another. Sonia would be quite alright, she thought, red eyes giving one last glance across the cabin's interior. There were books upon her nightstand from the previous day's trip to the library, and a stack of DVDs beside the widescreen television standing atop a table across from the bed. It didn't compare, they imagined, to the nicer one that had been sent over for her, but surely even the more-modest installations from the Future Foundation hotel were better than nothing.
Yes, Sonia would be fine, so there was no reason to demand more of her time when they're already been lucky enough to receive any of it. "There are snacks in the bag as well, should you get hungry. Nothing that requires any amount of cooking or preparation, since I imagined you'd not want to be on your feet." Or, potentially burn the cabin down, though Shinobu kept quiet about Sonia's kitchen inadequacies, unsure of if that was something she was supposed not to know. "And there's a first aid kit, as well." A number of things, really, perhaps too many.
The sound of rain crashing against glass had only gotten louder in the time she'd spoke. This truly was a wretched storm. "Hopefully you should have no need of my bag, but it's there in the event you require it." Working in the cabin while Sonia had been in the hospital had exacerbated the chipping of the black polish that Sonia applied for her - the point at which Shinobu had decided to take it off - but her hands looked so bare now, she noticed, as she picked up her small bag of tools and personal effects. She must have become used to them, even in such a short time. "Before I go, though, Miss Nevermind," she said, turning to look at Sonia as she lingered by the door, "is there anything else I can do for you before I leave?"

[1.8k words]
Happiness was a tricky thing. Celebration of one life, ignorance of the other. The next few days that followed felt unnatural to you. Having memories of two separate lives was starting to take its toll. Constantly on edge, nervous around your parents who raised you, overcome with happiness for the return of friends you didn’t even know you had lost, and sadness with knowing there was still one life you could never return to. The biggest downfall of it all was being stuck in the 1980s; knowing exactly what was to come in the future.
You tried your best to ignore it, to not link fact from fiction. The only issue was that now ‘fictional’ Hawkins from Stranger Things WAS your new reality. Which meant that all future events weren’t even certain to happen in this reality.
You felt a sense of anxiety over knowing all the possibilities, but it wasn’t your job to help. You have already done your purpose, and saved thousands in the meantime. Yet you couldn’t play off the guilt that you HAD to help. Just, with what exactly?
One thing was for certain though, having already graduated in the future meant passing your ‘senior’ year in 1985 was proving to be a breeze. If anything you were a valuable tool to the rest of the older gang, a personal fact machine if they ever got stuck. The study group consisted of Robin, Steve, Nancy, Johnathan, Barb, Eddie and You.
Eddie didn’t want to admit it, but having the companion and study group to help was making it easier for him. You were just the encouragement he needed, besides… he was very easily persuaded when it came to you. One quick smile, bat of the eyelashes, kisses with promises of more for later…. You had him in the palm of your hand. You knew Eddie was destined for more than what Hawkins had to offer, more than the ‘senior year repeater’ name he got for himself. And so if he needed a little help you would give it to him.
Life after Vecna was strange. Not wanting to keep your parents out of the loop, with El—Jane’s help, the two of you showed and explained to them of the horrors that should have unfolded. Ever since getting your memories back you suddenly had a better control of your powers and they could notice something different about you.
“You're saying we— we died?” Your mother said, gloomy as she accepted the cup of coffee Joyce offered.
“Yes, but technically so did a lot of people. If it weren’t for the kids, life would have been uh… rather difficult.” Jim said.
“So our then three year old killed this….Vecna person because of her memories in another timeline…. Where she, along with the rest of you, also killed him.” Your father said, rubbing at the pressure point between his eyes.
“I know it’s strange— but for a few weeks— no, a few years… these people were my family. It’s hard for me to explain but that’s why I was so drawn to Hawkins,” you spoke softly, your mind clouding with memories of life with and without them. “This is where I’m meant to be.”
“Years?” Your mother cried.
You nodded, “It’s ah… I was alone a lot and found comfort with them. When everything happened and I found myself living with them, I’d never felt any care or kindness like it. They trusted me, they protected me… the two of you will always be my parents, I still have all my memories of THIS life…. But I can’t forget who I was in the other. That’s why I wanted to share it with you.”
It was hard for them to fully understand. Even after learning everything, they looked at you with new eyes. You were part their daughter, part stranger. Occasionally you’d spew fun facts about what life was like in the 21st century, or how you befriend monsters in the Upside Down.
The one thing that eased their worries was seeing how easily you connected with El. The two of you shared a unique bond. ‘Sisters by choice’ as Eddie liked to put it, just as Dustin was the closest thing to a little brother he had.
Then came the time of breaking the news to them about Eddie. Your boyfriend. That was probably the most unsettling for them; seeing how quick the two of you formed such a tight relationship. After all, you had loved Eddie a year before meeting him in person, just as he loved you during the three years of waiting. Hence, the relationship wasn’t new for the two of you, but it was a lot for your parents to handle.
The two of you were inseparable, Eddie rather enjoyed the feeling of being the one to know everything for once. You had missed three years of his life, and he was taking his sweet time filling in the details.
You sat folded on his bed with popcorn in your lap, letting the entertainment of his storytelling play out.
“The spray paint was only the tip of the iceberg, we had to carefully move his truck back into his driveway so he couldn’t tell we took it for a joyride. I swear the entire town could hear his high pitched scream when he saw it in the morning,” he exclaimed, walking from one side of his room to the other.
“And why did you do that to Tommy?”
He paused in his tracks, “he teased Will. It was horrible— the poor kid was traumatized. Called him a fa— I can’t even say it.”
“He called him that in front of everyone?”
“Yep, I could see it in his eyes he was trying so hard not to cry. Steve and Johnathan decked him straight away, but Robin and I planned something much more permanent.” Eddie said proud of himself.
You smiled, “I’m glad the kids have you guys. Sure makes them less of a target. I still can’t believe how weird school is. No jock bullies, no teasing of the nerds… I gotta say, Steve did well at bringing down the structure.”
“Steve!?” He screamed, making his way over your body on the bed. “Why does he get all the credit?”
You giggled under him, ignoring the mess from the popcorn spilling. “Oh so you’re saying it was you who did it?!”
He tickled at your sides.
“Say it.”
You pressed your lips together, holding in the laughter.
“Say it!”
Deep inside you, you enjoyed him bossing you like this. Making a mental note to encourage him to be more in charge the next time you two were tangled inside the sheets.
“Fine! It was you.” You broke, “Eddie the Wondered charmed his way out of the social hierarchy and successfully saved the nerds of Hawkins high. There, you happy?”
He smirked at you, taking advantage of the position the two of you found yourselves in. You flat against the bed, him hovering above you with his hands holding your waist.
“Almost. Keep going.” He teased.
Rather than toying with you, you kissed him. Thereby forgoing any other conversations for the rest of the night. All there was were kisses between the two of you, finally enjoying the universe keeping you together.
When the school break came around, you and Eddie were curious. You brought along with you only the best precautions to let the plan unfold. A replica of his makeshift shield, and the legendary spiked bat in hand. Somehow you managed to convince Robin, Steve and Nancy to join the two of you. With Vecna gone and you in full control of your powers, they figured it would be the best for everyone in Hawkins to check for yourselves. Before anything bad can happen.
You branded yourselves as Hawkins’ secret heros.
Sneaking into the woods, the only things that could be heard were Steve and Eddie swearing. Cursing at ever having been convinced that this was a good idea.
“She’s mad. I told you back when she went to ride the fucking dragon, and here we are… trying to get BACK there. Fucking crazy.” Steve muttered.
“Hey!” Eddie said defending you, but the look Steve gave him made him realize that you did have a bit of a danger seeker vibes. “Okay maybe a little, but don’t you think it’ll be good to know if there is anything down there?”
“Oi!” Robin called out, “Scooby and Shaggy! Come toughen up and join us, Y/n thinks she can make an opening.
Eddie laughed at the remark but Steve was personally offended.
“Oh no, we all know I’m Fred!” He screamed back.
“Nah man, I think Nancy is more like Fred.”
“Wha— why are we even discussing this? Let’s just go follow your girlfriend down the goddamn rabbit hole.”
You sat in silence and focused; you could sense the Upside Down and it was just out of reach. It felt different. Holding out your hand, your fingers waved through the air and it was as if imaginary strings were being pulled.
And there in the darkness of night, the first opening to the alternative dimension. The light coming from the opening wasn’t what you expected, there were no red hues and floating particles. It was bright yet translucent.
“Hey guys?” You called out, “You all seeing this?”
The four of them crowded behind you, peering into the opening near your hand. In the small crack was only lights.
“Okay, looks less evil. Let’s leave it at that.” Steve said, trying to get everyone to leave the scary supernatural world alone.
“Perhaps you are right.” You huffed, “it’ll be fun to see what it is like there now. If my little babies are okay.”
Eddie smirked at you, but Steve still refused to test it any further. “Did you just refer to the dragon and baby demogorgon as your babies?!”
“Awww, you know… the little one was kinda cute.” Robin added.
“You wanna know what else will be cute?” You said softly, “Everyone in their graduation caps tomorrow! Come on, let’s go.”
And so the supernatural world was left just like that. The opening was tightly secured but the memories were never forgotten. Together the group, along with their friends, walked that graduation stage. Everyone alive and happy.
As everyone threw their caps up into the air, Eddie pulled you in for a kiss.
“Here’s to the rest of our lives.” You said, linking your arms around his neck.
“Let’s hope it’s a very uneventful and long one.”
“I have a good feeling about it,” you smiled at him. Kissing him once more and whispering against his lips, “I love you.”
He returned the smile, “I love you, thank you for saving my life.”
You’ve told him off before about saying that to you, since technically he’s saved yours just as much as you have his. But you thought it’ll be best to let it slide this one time. Besides, he still had to flip off the Principal before he excited the ceremony.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————-
This is it 😭 the final chapter. I wanted to take the time to thank everyone for the support, love and interest in my little story. It’s crazy to think that I originally only had 10 chapters planned and it just exploded into all of this. I love you all, and even though this story has ended, I hope you all stick around to see what else I have planned.
- love Nikki xx
Ps. For those of you who know me best, should know that I don’t do well with fully closed endings.
Missing this series? Check out my new Steve Harrington x Munson!reader thriller romance fic here! Chapter 1 out now.

GIF Tutorial
Someone asked me how I made my gifs so HD so I decided to write a full step-by-step uuuh babyyy 🎶 tutorial + useful tips on every part of the process.
It is explained in detail, so people with 0% experience can try it for the first time, and the more experienced gif makers can focus on the parts they are interested in 👍 (click on the images to see them bigger)
Disclaimers: I am not a professional, I have learned by trial and error and by watching other amazing creators. I use photoshop CC 2019 in Spanish so some of the names may vary but I tried to use the more accurate English names and used colors as references so even in other languages you can still follow this tutorial.
GIF TUTORIAL STEP BY STEP:
1.-  Open photoshop and create a new project. Then go to “files” 🠲 “import” 🠲 “convert video to frames” 🠲 this will send you to your video folder, and from there select the one you want. TIP 1: try always to download it in the best quality possible (1080p or 720p) so you will end up with “cleaner” HD gifs.
Tumblr media
2.-  When you select your video, then you will have to choose the specific moment or scene you want (you do this by selecting and moving the arrows at the bottom of the image) TIP 2: I usually limit every 2 frames, but if your scene is too short (less than 20 - 25 frames) then I suggest not clicking the limit and leaving it at 0, likewise if your scene has too many frames (over 70) then limit every 3 frames 👍 to make it smaller.
Tumblr media
3.- Sometimes when you select your scene, a few extra frames will show up in your timeline, it’s ok, you can delete them by selecting the frames and clicking the trashcan icon at the bottom. Next, don’t forget to change the speed, you do this by selecting all the frames (click the first one then press SHIFT and click the last one, this will select everything), and then click one of the numbers below the image and select “Other”. TIP 3: Usually I use between 0,07 - 0,08 (my fav) - 0,09 from faster to slower. The speed will depend on the gif you are making. TIP 4: If you have PSDs colorings, now it’s time to add them, just click and drag your PSD on top of the image, and remember to make sure it is on top of all the frames and layers ( the ones on the side).  Personally, I do it now, because when I do it later in the process there is always a few frames that won't color.
Tumblr media
4.- Now that we have our desired frames, speed, and PSD coloring  (optional), we need to make it easier to keep editing. So we need to click on the little icon with stripes at the top right corner on top of the timeline (the orange square) 🠲 “Convert timeline into video” 🠲 and now you should have one long frame instead of many single ones.
Tumblr media
Now let’s do the same with the layers that are on the right (purple circle), once again click the first layer then shift-click on the last one to select everything 🠲 right click on one of the layers 🠲 “convert into a smart object”  🠲 and now all the layers also become one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
5.- What I like to do next is to cut and then resize (you can do it the other way around if you’d like) select the cutting tool on the left side (light blue circle) and then it is up to you to choose which shape do you want (in the purple circle) there are some basic proportions but you can also make your own.
Tumblr media
6.- Now is where all the fun begins. Let’s resize our image so we won’t end up with a giant gif. to do this go to the  “Image” tab on top of the screen 🠲 “image size”
Tumblr media
TIP 5: To choose a good size, please keep in mind the standard sizes on Tumblr or other social media. If you are using one gif per row then the size should range between 540px - 560px - or 580px / If you are using 2 gifs per row then the size should be around 268px / and if you have 3 per row then the size should be around 177px. Once you select the appropriate size… this is where it gets tricky. Depending on the gif you are making you will have to select a different option ex: if your gif is too blurry or has lots of movement or grains if they are too dark or too light if the colors are too different, all these factors will determine what you need to use. TIP 6: I usually use only 3: bilineal - bicubic reduction or keep details 2.0 (the names may change in English but look for something along those lines or in the same place as the ones in the image with the green ticks)
Tumblr media
7.-  SHARPENING TIME!: go to “Filter” 🠲 “sharpen” 🠲  “smart sharpen”
Tumblr media
As I have mentioned before, the amount will depend on the gif you are making, there is no perfect formula for all the gifs, so you need to play around a bit to find the perfect setting for your specific gif. TIP 7: This is what I normally use: amount: between 250 and 300 / Radius: 0,3px - 0,4px or 0,5 (but never over 0,5) / noise: anything between 0 and 50, now if you have a very blurry scene you can go up to 100 👍 and finally select the option “Grussian blur”.
Tbh I never change the “shadows” and “lighting” settings (they are always 50 -50 -1) If you know how to use them or want to play around, then go for it…. I have no idea how to 🤣 oops.
Tumblr media
8.- BLUR: sometimes the gifs look TOO sharp so we need to add a blur filter. so go to “filter” 🠲 “blur” 🠲 “surface blur”
Tumblr media
then once again, depending on your needs, you can play around with the settings. TIP 8: I normally use 10-6 / 9-4 / 7-4 or 3 / etc. but I never go over 10.
Also if you are noticing that your gif is still looking a bit blurry or with imperfections, due to the quality of the video, the scene is too complicated, etc. then I recommend adding noise on purpose 🤣 hey! if you can’t fight against the noise then put it on purpose and make the gif with a bit of texture and colors, it will look nice too 👍 go to “filter” 🠲 “noise” and then add the amount you want.
Tumblr media
9.- Now we are almost done, you can leave it like that if you want or you can add some extra steps and play around with the brightness, exposure, color balance, gradients, filters, etc. you can find everything on your right (the yellow circle). Here is up to you to explore and experiment, I never use the same, it changes every gifset I make.
Tumblr media
10.- You can add your watermark, images, texts, paint with the brushes, or do anything else with your gif. but this time I will skip these steps, but if you need extra information about something, please feel free to ask, and I will gladly help you 😊.
TIP 9: Before you save your gif, please make sure all the things you added are in line with your gif “video frame 🠲 move the little arrow so it will end perfectly with your gif, if the others are longer, it doesn’t matter, you can move them or you can leave them there, the important thing is that the line is perfectly in line with your gif.
Tumblr media
11.- Now there is nothing left to do, it’s finally time to save it for the web. Go to “files” 🠲 “export” 🠲 “save for the web”
Tumblr media
TIP 10: Now you have two options: you can view your gif in the “optimized version” tab where it will show you one option that you can edit. If you select this option then these are the settings I always use, the only option that changes is: using pattern (the gif will have a small invisible “net” that will make the gifs look more uniform, use this especially when the lights or shadows and colors look grainy) or you can use Diffusion (to make it smoother and move flowy)  you can try both and see which one suits your gif best 👍
Tumblr media
and then the easier second option is to click the “4 copies” tab on top of the gif, and it will show you 4 different options, then you just select the one you like the best and it’s ready!
Tumblr media
12 .- THE LAST STEP!!!  TIP 11: make sure your final gif is smaller than 10MB (Tumblr's limit) and hit SAVE! and you are ready!! ヾ(≧▽≦*)o
This is our final result: A sexy Gojo 💙
Tumblr media
Thank you for reading, I hope this helped you, and I can wait to see all of your creations! ✨
Feel free to tag me in your gifsets or to ask me any other question in case you need extra information or need me to explain something better 💖
Also, if you are an expert and would like to comment, change or suggest better steps and/or settings, please let me know! so we can all learn and grow 👍

You’d been waiting all day. The hours seemed to drag forever, which was strange compared to fact your day usually went by too quick when you had an afternoon shift at Family Video. In fact, you couldn’t remember a time when you were actually excited to go to work. You’d cleaned your whole house twice, finished a weeks worth of laundry you’d been putting off and even submitted your final essay for your last college class of the year. Yet every time you looked at the clock, it felt like mere minutes had passed.
You tried to keep yourself distracted so the time would go quicker, but your mind was constantly running with memories of what happened the night before. It was like nothing you’d ever experienced. Steve made you feel things you never thought you’d feel. Turns out it was just like the movies. Those cheesy movies you and Steve used to watch where the guy gets the girl. The romantic, ultimate end scene with the magic make out session. Steve had essentially confessed his love for you, and then, well. He showed you he loved you. It was almost too good to be true. King Steve. You giggled to yourself, remembering how he felt, touching you in ways you’d only dreamed of. Now you sat at your kitchen table eating mac n cheese, remembering every detail back to yourself and you were sure it must’ve been a dream. You’d heard he was good, all those rumours from girls who had lined up to date Steve Harrington. Yet none of it had ever really occurred to you until now. He actually was good.
———
With the sound of the car doors locking, Steve had a longing you’d never felt from him before. And just as much as he wanted you, you wanted him back. You’d turned from the car door and looked him right in his eyes, burning with need growing inside you. “I want you more.” You’d finally told him. “Do you trust me?” He held your head in his hands again, searching your eyes for any doubt. “I’m still your best friend Steve. Of course I trust you.” He smiled and in sweeping move, he shuffled himself into the back of the car, pulling you quickly after him. “Steve!” he laughed as you squeezed your way over the middle console between the two front seats. “You’ve obviously had some practice at that.” He chuckled, “I was preparing myself for this, I just didn’t know it yet.” You punched his shoulder playfully and scoffed at him, “I’m sure that’s what it was. Preparation.” He winked at you, “All for you, baby.”
And just like that you were both sitting across from each other. Breathing in the hot tension that engulfed the back seat of Steve’s BMW. You had buried the need for Steve inside you for so many years, but now, you could admit that you would do anything for this man. “You’re sure this, or that I’m, what you want?”
He leaned forward, placing his forehead on yours and his eyes closed, breathing you in. “I’ve never been more sure of anything.” And he brought his lips to yours.
It was like you’d never been kissed before. He was holding your face, and you could feel the urgency with his every movement. Your hands rested on his chest, as his brushed your cheeks and flowed into your hair. This couldn’t be real, it was too perfect. Suddenly you felt so light, like you were swimming in sheer bliss, elevated in his warmth. He explored every part of your mouth, brushing his tongue against yours softly, becoming more intense with every second. “I’ve always wondered what you tasted like. Even better than I’d imagined.” You groaned as your mouth moved with his, letting him lead.
“So now…. you’re mine…. right?” He whispered to you as he pulled away from your lips to your neck, burying kisses inbetween every word. The sound of his voice, so dark and determined, sent you over the edge. Slight moans left your throat as you felt the touch of his lips to your skin. “I’m yours.”
You wrapped your fingers in his hair, desperate to find something to relieve the pressure you could feel building inside you. He kissed your cheeks, “these are mine.” And moved his kisses to your eyelids making you giggle “Mine.” He moved back down your face, softly nibbling your lower lip. “These lips are all mine.” He continued to claim every part of you while his hands smoothed their way down your chest and stomach over your clothes, finding his way to the waistband of your skirt. “So perfect.” He was unraveling you with every word. He continued to lower his hands, and now his mouth followed, planting sweet warm kisses on your skin, drawing invisible lines from your jawline to your neck. “This neck, it’s mine?” You didn’t think you’d get the words out. “Yours.” You could feel his smile against the nape of your neck. He traced over your knee highs with his fingers, moving up towards the gap between the end of the sock and the hem of your skirt, gripping the bare skin of your thighs. “these thighs?” You could hear the dark groans surrounding his words. “just yours” you whined as his fingers kneaded into the flesh. He brought his hands under your skirt, feeling the wet cotton of your panties beneath it. You whimpered at the feeling of his fingertips caressing you, circling the soaking fabric. “This pussy?.” He spoke with such certainty, and it was so fucking hot. “Mhmm” was all you could get out between the soft moans. “Mhmm what?” he teased wanting you to say it “it’s yours Steve, everything is yours.” He gently tugged at the cotton, relieving you of the heat you felt mounting. He was whispering to you now, while leaving soft kisses along your earlobe. “Should I feel this pussy, my pussy, y/n?” Holy fuck. “Please Steve. I need to feel you.” You’d never needed anything more.
He released his grip of you and you could’ve cried out for him if you weren’t biting your lips to suppress it. He put his hands on your shoulders, turning your body so you faced away from him. He had sprawled his right leg across the backseats, and his left hanging off the side into the footwell.  “Lay back for me, baby.” You did exactly as he said, following his every instruction. With you lay back like this, your head settled perfectly inside the crevice of his shoulder. You could feel him hard beneath your back, turning you on even more. You desperately wanted to feel his cock fill you in every way.
He wrapped his arms around you, undoing the buttons of your shirt, revealing your breasts. He let his hands trace the outline of your body laying against him, moving his hands lower until he was gripping your thighs again. “God I’ve waited so long to feel these thighs. Always walking around in these knee high socks. You don’t even know what you do to me.” You whimpered at his words, his grasp getting tighter and more ferocious. He felt so fierce against your skin but so soft at the same time, like his hands were created for your body. You lifted your head so you could lay soft kisses along his neck, moaning his name into his ear as he felt you. “Steve..this is.. fuck.” He smiled and turned his head towards your face and kissed you back. “You are so perfect, y/n”. He pulled your cotton panties down around your thighs, and teased the skin surrounding your pussy. “Tell me what you want.” He was going to make you beg for it. “Touch me, please, right there Steve.” Your voice was breaking between gasps of pleasure, trying to form coherent sentences, and Steve was melting at the sound of your struggling. He trailed his fingers over your wetness, feeling you raising your hips against him, aching to feel his fingers inside you. “I will never get enough of this.” He was in awe of every part of you.
Suddenly you could feel his fingers inside you, stretching you out. You whimpered at the relief and felt the weight of your back lay into him. You couldn’t contain the moans escaping your lips as they caressed his neck. He was slowly exploring every inch of you with his fingers, discovering your favourite spots with every twitch and pull of your hips as your body responded to him. “So wet for me, baby. All mine.” His words had you spiralling, you could feel small pools of fires burning inside you. You forced your hips further into his hands, grinding into him, and you could feel the fires merging with his hands. “You sound so pretty, y/n. I want to feel you cum for me.” Fuck fuck fuck. You collapsed around his words and he could feel you squeezing his fingers as you climaxed around him. “God damn you feel so nice.” As you came down from your high, he released his fingers from you, bringing them up to his mouth. He slowly licked his fingertips, tasting every piece of you. You lifted your neck up to kiss him, tasting your warmth on his tongue.
You could feel he was so hard beneath you, you turned to face him on your knees and leaned over to kiss him again. “Now, Is it *my* turn to make *you* mine?” you smiled through your kiss as you reached for his belt buckle. “I’m already yours.” Leaning backwards he was watching you undo his belt, releasing him from his jeans. You had heard the rumours but you did not expect them to actually be true. You moved your hand along his cock, rubbing in the precum already dripping from his tip. Your hair was messy around your face, lips raw from kissing him. You already looked fucked drunk. “Look at you like this.” He raised his hand to your face and filled your mouth with two fingers, “so fucking pretty.” You lowered yourself down to him, kissing the tip of his cock before taking him entirely in your mouth. He groaned in response, feeling your hands working in tandem with your tongue, “So good y/n, so fucking pretty with my cock in your mouth.” You would never get tired of Steve’s praises. He leaned his head back against the window, pushing your mouth deeper, filling you with more of him. You weren’t even sure how you could fit anymore of Steve in your mouth, but you wanted every bit. You could feel him pulsating under you, fuelling his collapse with every movement. “You’re so fucking amazing y/n. Going to fill your pretty little mouth with my cum?” You moaned at the sound of his enjoyment as his hand clasped the back of your head and his half thrusts got sloppy as he came, “Fuck, y/n”, and you could feel his warm liquid trickle down your throat.
———
You weren’t sure how much time had passed, but you and Steve hadn’t moved much if at all. You both laid there in the back of his BMW, warm and sticky under the euphoria you shared with one another. He traced along your back, tickling you in all the right places, whispering soft praises in your ears. You could lay there like that with him forever. Suddenly you heard a loud bang hit the roof of Steve’s car that rudely interrupted you from your bliss. “What the fuck was that?” You we’re kind of freaked out, and Steve was too though he wouldn’t admit it. “Shhh. Stay still.” Steve reached in his trunk over the backseat headrest and pulled out a bat. “Why the fuck do you have a bat?” He held it upright, and lowered the window using lever next to him. “Long story.” He pulled his body outside the window so his head was parallel with the top of the car. You could hear him quietly laughing. “It’s fine. It’s a cat.” You giggled as he pulled back into the car. “Mr Knowles really needs to start closing his cat flap. Now put that bat away before you turn me on again.” Steve smirked, “Bats are hot? Okay, I gotta remember that for next time.” You laughed with him as he kissed you on the forehead before tossing the bat behind him. “You are an idiot Steve Harrington.”
“Your idiot, y/n/l/n.”
He then slid back into the front seat of the car. “Cmon, time for you to get to bed and me to get home, we both have work tomorrow don’t forget.” You groaned. “The joys of Family Video.”
———
The beep of a horn disrupted your daydream of last night, and you jumped out of your seat. Butterflies filled your stomach as you rushed to grab your bag and head for the door, shoes already in place from where you’d put them on in anticipation 20 minutes prior. Steve was outside of his car waiting, holding the passenger side door open for you. “Wow Harrington, does every girl that lets you finger fuck them in the back of your BMW get this kind of treatment?” He rolled his eyes, laughing and shutting the door behind you. “You might wanna be careful or the neighbours will hear you again.” You gasped in shock and punched his arm, “They never heard me!” He chuckled in amusement and roughed his hair through his fingers, turning the car engine on. “I’m pretty sure Mr Knowles cat did.”
———
The drive to work was a stark contrast to the drive home the night before. You and Steve were obsessed with each other, you kissing his neck, hands in his hair, his hand on your thigh and on on the steering wheel. “I could seriously get used to this, but if you kiss my neck anymore I will have to pull over and take you here and now.” You melted at his words, revelling in the sound of Steve’s need for you. Robin was already there when the car entered the parking lot. She had been covering Steve’s morning shift. He’d called her once he got home, begging her to cover for him so he could sleep in after a date. Really, Steve just wanted an excuse to get you in his car again, and he knew doing the afternoon shift with you would be a great excuse.
One look at you both as you walked in through the doors of Family Video and Robin knew. You both walked towards the front counter, flirty and wrapped up in your own world you’d created not even 24 hours before. “No way.” She gasped. “What?” Steve asked, putting on his green vest. “Your date was with y/n? You both banged?!” Your cheeks flushed red. “Hi to you too Rob. And technically, we didn’t bang-“, you trailed off as you were walking to the back where your locker was. You blew Steve a kiss from behind Robin’s back before heading into the back room. He grinned from ear to ear watching you. Robin glared at Steve. She knew she would get it out of him. “Okay, spill. Right now lover boy.” Steve shrugged, playing cool. “I just did what you said Buckley. I told her how I felt.” Robin was giddy. She’d always wanted you both to be a thing, especially after what happened when you confessed your love to Steve and got rejected. She always reminded him how stupid he was for doing that. “And then what? You went to her house and got it on?” Steve was smug, leaning over the front counter, trying not to involve all of the store in last nights events. “Actually, we didn’t even make it out of the driveway.” He was overtly proud of himself. Robin squealed, loving every juicy detail. “So I guess the King Steve really does live up to his name eh? Maybe you don’t suck after all!” Steve shrugged her off laughing, walking round to the back counter. “I think this time it’s different with her. This isn’t some random girl. It’s y/n. I can’t fuck this up again.” She could tell he was being sincere too. “Well you better not fuck it up otherwise I’ll have to kick your ass. Especially after you ruined her date with Eddie Munson, who knows what could’ve happened if she’d-“ Her voice turned into a whisper, “well this is gonna be awkward.” Suddenly the sound of the bell was ringing throughout the store. Steve turned to see what Robin was talking about, and in walked Eddie Munson. “Seriously?” Steve groaned.
He smiled at them as he casually strolled in, wearing his usual Hellfire Club shirt and high tops. “Harrington, Buckley.” He didn’t even look at them at first, instead he scanned the room, looking for you. Robin politely grinned back and Steve just glared at him like he was ready to launch over the counter at his throat. “Either of you seen y/n? We had a thing last night and she never showed. Haven’t heard from her since.” Robin looked at Eddie wide eyed, shaking her head with speed. Steve shrugged and spoke for them both, “Nope haven’t seen her.” Robin gawked at Steve, having absolutely no clue where he was going with this. “I think she’s got the stomach flu or something, real bad hot dog last-.” Steve elbowed Robin in the ribs. “Ouch!” Eddie narrowed his eyes at them. “Look, I’m not the type to worry, but you know how it can be around Hawkins when someone goes missing.” Robin nodded her head as she tried not to drown in this entire awkward exchange. “I’m just gonna go finish stocking, um, movies”. Steve was dumbfounded as he watched her practically running to the back to hide behind the curtains of the adult movie section. He would rip into her later for bailing on him. “You sure you haven’t seen her around, Harrington?” Eddie was pretty sure Steve was lying. Just as Steve opened his mouth to respond, you walked out of the break room, staring down at the clipboard in your hands while you called out to him. “Hey Steve did you want to change the theatrical posters for this week with me lat-“, you stopped in your tracks as you looked up from the clipboard to see Eddie Munson, standing there at the front desk with Steve. Both of them staring right at you. Fuck.
“Glad you’re alive.” Disappointment clouded his tone. “Hey Eddie. I’m-“ He cut you off as he was walking towards you, trying to avoid Steve’s hearing range. “Can I talk to you, outside?”

Hi!! I was wondering if you could please write a Jason Dean x child reader?
Like has a baby sister that he takes care of and tries his best to protect her from their dad. Nobody else knows about her but he is the classic big brother takes the role of father and he is super protective and treats her how a father would treat a daughter.
Thank you and sorry if it is confusing

An: I have written this like five times, each with a different idea. I hope you enjoy this. Also, I kinda mess around with the timeline of when Jd’s mom died. Reader is 10 years old, and was a baby when their mother died
Warnings: talk of suicide, mention of murder, a gun is seen but not used. This was my first time writing a Jd x child reader, so I Hope this was ok.
Jd could only think of three people he ever gave a shit about. There was his mom, but he didn’t want to think about that. There was Veronica, which was a dangerous ‘rip your hair out’ kind of love. And finally, there was his sister, y/n.
A baby when he watched his mom died, he felt like he had to protect you. Simply so your dad didn’t cause you to go down a similar path.
So he did anything to keep your life running smoothly. He kept you fed, clean, clothed, and made sure the name ‘Dean’ was as far from you as possible. Last thing he needed was his reputation to follow you around.
“Get up.” He flipped the light on to your room, his patience running out. He tried twice now to be nice and yet here you were, still in bed. When you didn’t move he walked over to your bed and yanked the blanket off.
“Hey!” You sat up straight, glaring at your brother. “What the fucks wrong with you?”
“Don’t fucking swear at me. And I told you to get up almost an hour ago.” He reached down, grabbing the book and flashlight that had been under your blanket. “And if your going to stay up all night, at least do something interesting.”
He started walking out, and you stuck your tongue out at his back. “Kitchen in 10.”
“Kitchen in 10..” you mocked before getting up.
While waiting for you, jd stood in the kitchen smoking a cigarette. He knew it would piss you off, you hated the smell of them.
“You’re gonna kill yourself with those.” You spoke while dragging yourself into the kitchen.
“You aren’t even dressed.”
“It’s Saturday,” you simply stated. “Why did I have to get up again?”
“I’ve got places to be.”
“You mean you want to fuck your girlfriend?”
“What the hell made you think you could talk like that?”
“You.” He simply glared at you, and you glared right back.
“There’s food in the fridge, and don’t fucking leave.” He started to walk away, but stoped when he saw your disappointed face. “How about this, movie night tonight. Then you have an excuse to stay up.”
“Bring me home a slushy and you have a deal.” He shook your hand to make it official before walking away, leaving you alone in the house.
——————
He hurried back into the house, cursing himself. It was almost midnight, and he genuinely hadn’t planed to be out that late. But sex had led to sleeping, then another ‘suicide’. Which of course led to an argument with Veronica and her kicking him out of her house. It wasn’t until the adrenaline wore off that he realized how late it was.
He could hear the tv on, and he prepared himself for the guilt trip the moment he walked in.
“Listen kid, I got a little caught up with something. How about tomorrow we do something like-“ he stoped when he didn’t see you in the living room. Instead his dad was passed out on the couch. Great. He was going to leave, but paused when he saw your book on the couch. Might as well take it up to you, it could be a peace offering.
He grabbed it before going upstairs, keeping it hooked under his arm. He stuck his head into your room, not seeing your form in bed. He continued down the hall to his room, and he found you there. You were wrapped up in one of his blankets, laying on his bed.
“Hey, grabbed your book,” he held it up to show you. He elected to leave the light off and pulled his shoes off before walking towards the bed. Once closer, he noticed you were staring up at nothing. He rolled into bed, laying next to you. “What are we looking at?”
“You won’t ever kill yourself, right?” He hated that the question didn’t surprise him. You asked the same things every time Bud made you watch those damn videos. They sent you into a sort of spiral.
“Na, I’d have to kill you too.”
“That’s not funny,” you snapped. Clearly you weren’t looking for jokes.
“Y/n, I will never leave you alone with that asshole. I don’t care how much I want to die. Got it?” You were quiet, but decided to cuddle next to him. Most of the time he’d push you off, making some stupid joke, but this time he let you.
“You didn’t bring me a slushy.” You finally said, making him chuckle.
“I’ll take you to get one tomorrow,” he promised.
“Not now?”
“Go to sleep.” He ignored your question, letting his own arm wrap around your body.
“Your gun is poking me,” you mumbled. He reached into his jacket to pull it out and threw it on the nightstand.
“If you complain about anything else I’ll send you back to bed.”
“I love you Jason.”
“I love you too y/n.” He didn’t say it often, but you took it any time he did.

Author Note: Hello!! This is my first time writing fanfic for anything since 2015, so please bare with me. I appreciate any feedback. This story will be extended. Feel free to let me know what you think about anything in the future. I also want to mention that this story won't 100% align with the actual show, but it will follow the same timeline, I hope you enjoy
Chapter One: The Beginning
When it started, no one had any idea what was happening. My dad was just shot, and I had no time to process what happened to him before all hell broke loose.
I was a senior in High-School. I had just turned 18 this year. And the first thing I did when everything went down was grab carl from his school a block from mine and find mom.
After running back home, we found our mom and my dad's best friend, Shane, whom we call our Uncle. He told us he would protect us and that we would be safe with him.
"what about dad?" I ask in panic as Shane is filling the car with our clothes and other belongings (as well as food). "your dad died, Emma... I tried to save him, I really did, but I had no time; I needed to find you guys for him." I looked at Shane in shock; not knowing what to say, I grabbed my mp3 player from my backpack and hurried into the car. Tears escape from my eyes now, knowing my dad, my best friend, is gone, and I didn't even get to say goodbye.
After a couple hours, we found ourselves on a highway of some sort, a bunch of families wondering when we could start driving again. The whole thing was such a blur to me. The next thing I remember was everyone dying, screaming. It was a nightmare.
We had to set up camp with a group of others. We spent the next two months hunting for food and supplies, simply surviving on whatever we could find or already had. I was initially scared, but knowing my family and I weren't alone made it much easier and less scary. It seemed that my mom sure was not nervous or afraid anymore. There was no wait time between finding out dad died and her fucking dad's best friend.
I wouldn't have been able to know if they were better at hiding it. They make it so obvious. And sharing a tent with carl next to moms tent? I'm surprised carl can sleep through all their moaning and groaning every night.
For some time, I kept my mouth shut, making food for everyone and whatnot to keep my mind off it. But it was no use; my mom ended up finding out.
I walked out of my tent after a nap during the day, wanting some fresh air. Putting my combat boots back on my feet, I walk towards the forest to sit under a tree when I hear voices. I pull my pocket knife out "who's there?!" "Emma??!" I turn to my left to see my mom and Shane embracing. Shane manages to slip away, and it's just my mom and me.
"so I see you didn't wait to jump into his arms" I cross my arms. "Emma, my love life is none of your business." "it is my business when I can hear you and your little rebound fucking next to mine and Carl's tent." after I said that, I guess it struck a chord with mom because she ran away.
Sighing, I sit down under a large tree and rest my head back on it. After thinking, I hear footsteps and open my eyes, "it's just me, girl" I close my eyes again, knowing it's Daryl. "whatcha doin' out here anyway?" "Well, I wanted to get some fresh air, but I found my mom and Shane making out and told her upfront that I knew and could hear them having sex." "sounds bout right, saw her stormin' back to 'er tent cryin', was wonderin' what happened"
I sigh again, "I just wish my dad was here... that's all" "well, based on what I heard, I don't think he's dead. or at least, don't sound like anyone should be assumin'." I nod in agreement and sit closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder. he doesn't pay any mind and continues to clean his arrows.
We sit for a bit under the tree in comfortable silence until we hear an engine revving really loud. "what's happening ?" "I don't know, but let's find out" Daryl and I get up from the ground and jog over to where the noise is coming from.
Glenn had just gotten back from his run and stopped the noise. He mentioned why he and the others he went with took so long, because of this new guy. They called out for him, and a car door opened.
It was my dad.
'Dad?!" I ran as fast as possible to my dad; Carl and I jumped into his arms. "I missed you so much," I said into his shoulder. "I missed you too, sunshine, and you too, Carl" dad kissed us both on the head and gets up to bring our mom into an embrace. I shake my head, turn to Shane, and shake my head at him, walking away from everyone.
While I was out sulking in the woods, my dad had handcuffed Merle to a pipe on a roof somewhere in the city, leaving him to die. Merle wasn't a good guy, but I don't think he deserved that.
Daryl was yelling at everyone who went out, including my dad, trying to fight and demanding they return and try to find him. Only a few people wanted to tag along. "I'll go with you to look for him, Daryl" "oh no, you're not, young lady", my dad walks up to me, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"yes, I am. It's the least I can do for a new friend. I want everyone to be as safe and alive as everyone else. And I'm going to help Daryl get his brother." my dad gave me a softer look, "fine, but I'm coming with you and make sure you're safe" I rolled my eyes. Carl runs up to dad, "can I come too?" I crouch at eye level with Carl. "no, buddy, you can't; we need you here and safe; you can play with Sophia and mom. I promise we will be back very soon, and I can play with you too" Carl gives me a smile "okay",.
Carl runs back over to Sophia. My mom holds dads hand. "honey, you just got back, and now you want to leave? We haven't even gotten to sit down and spend time with you" "Lori, as much as I want to after having just gotten back, it's the least I can do, seeing as I am the one who handcuffed a guy to a pipe on a roof." my mom sighs, kissing him on the cheek "okay. Still, please be safe; I don't want to lose you again after just getting you back" "I will, I promise" after we say our goodbyes, we head off to the city to find merle.

Chapter One: Welcome to Hawkins
Summary: It’s your senior year at Hawkins High in November 1984, and you can’t help but think about all of the missed opportunities you’ve had to get to know Eddie Munson over the years. (6.5k words)
Author Note: This is mainly a Fem!reader x Eddie Munson fanfic that will have many parts, but (spoiler alert!) this one’s also for those of us that can’t choose between Eddie Munson and Steve Harrington... The series will also include the reader’s relationships to some of the other characters in-depth (Max Mayfield features heavily at the end of this one. The reader has a Dustin/Steve-esque friendship with her). I’ll be following the timeline of Stranger Things canon as closely as possible, starting with season 2 and going beyond season 4. I cannot stress this enough, this is going to be a literal novel. Like, 200 pages at least that I have already written. (Really proud of this, not gonna lie. I put my heart and soul into it. Literally did nothing but write this series for the past two months and I don’t care that no one is gonna read it lmao.)
Warnings: Mentions of abuse and racism from Billy (this is a Billy hate fic sorry not sorry, he is the worst). The reader has quite a few specific attributes mentioned about her life, but none really about her appearance. She’s an outcast and socially awkward and has controlling parents. Mild bullying. Reader used to be friends with Tommy and Carol when they were kids (YUCK).

November 2nd, 1984
Eddie Munson was difficult not to notice.
The first time you saw him was your first day of your freshman year in 1981. You were sitting alone in the cafeteria listening to music on your Walkman when a blur of motion captured your attention out of the corner of your eye. It was Eddie, going on a first of many tirades you would witness, putting on a show. Most of the people in the room didn’t seem to notice or care, but you couldn’t stop staring.
Who did this kid think he was? Why didn’t he care what people thought of him? What was he even speaking so passionately about?
You lowered your headphones to listen.
“There is no way that The Empire Strikes Back is better than A New Hope. No. Way.”
He was standing up, slamming his fists on the table as he argued with his friends. You agreed with him, but you didn’t understand why this was something to get so riled up about.
You listened to him and his friends go back and forth as you sipped your milk through a straw. Then his eyes shifted over towards you and the milk almost came out of your nose as you choked and scrambled to pretend that you hadn’t been eavesdropping. You set your drink down and looked out the window, but you couldn’t help turning your gaze back to him to see if you had successfully fooled him. You hadn’t. His eyes were still on you, and a smirk appeared on his face. Then he winked and you could feel your face begin to burn. Without thinking, you put your headphones back on, gathered up your things, and got up to leave.
The last thing you wanted to do on your first day of high school was draw attention to yourself. Middle school had been miserable, and you were determined to make it through the next four years unscathed. Whoever this kid was, he seemed kinda like trouble, and trouble was not something you needed more of.
Although you tried your best not to, you kept your eye on him for the rest of the school year. He was entertaining to watch, and something about him intrigued you. He seemed to be the complete opposite of you. He didn’t give a shit what anybody thought of him and you admired him for it, no matter how ridiculously he acted.
You learned his name when he was in one of your classes during your sophomore year. It turned out that he was a grade above you, but had failed most of his classes. The more you noticed him, the more evident the reasons he was failing became. He was disruptive. He didn’t even try to pay attention. Sometimes, he even took a nap in the back of the room.
One day, he sat beside you as he sketched in his notebook. He was focusing so hard, a pen in his mouth as he was shading. Sketching was something you enjoyed, too, and for some reason seeing that you had this in common gave you butterflies. You tried to nonchalantly stretch your neck to get a better look, and discovered that he was actually spelling something out in big, sharp letters: CORRODED COFFIN. You raised an eyebrow, curious about what it could mean. Then you snapped out of it when he shuffled some papers around to cover it up. You looked at him before you could stop yourself, and he was staring right back at you with a bashful look on his face.
“Just brainstorming,” He explained with a shrug. “Band stuff.”
You gave him a weak smile, feeling ashamed for being so nosy, and returned your eyes to the front of the classroom again. If you weren’t so shy and embarrassed, you probably would have said something. You would have apologized for snooping, or told him what a great band name you thought that was. But instead you slumped back into your seat and pretended to listen to your teacher.
Later that year after you turned sixteen, you got a job at Melvald’s General Store. During one of your first shifts, you were sketching absentmindedly in your notebook when the store quieted down a little. The familiar sound of the bell over the door chimed away and you barely gave it any thought, but still looked up and said your usual greeting. You did a double take when you saw Eddie standing at the front of the store, his hand shoved into the pockets of his leather jacket. He was with someone you didn’t recognize, someone older. You had overheard once that his parents weren’t in the picture anymore. You wondered if he was his uncle. The man smiled and said hello to you as he picked up a basket, and Eddie stared back at you.
You tried not to watch them as they collected their groceries, busying yourself with your doodles, but you couldn’t help looking up every now and then. You prayed that from their perspective, it just seemed like you were doing your job and keeping an eye on all the customers.
“Hold this, please” you heard his uncle say as he pushed the basket into Eddie’s arms. You looked up and made eye contact with him as he nearly fumbled it and gave you a sheepish smile. You smiled back, stifling a giggle, and quickly went back to drawing. Had he been watching you, too?
When they came over to check out, you went over your usual ‘did you find everything okay?’ speech and rang them up. His uncle asked you for a pack of Camel cigarettes, and Eddie perked up at this.
“Make it two,” he chimed in with a smirk, and you both raised an eyebrow at him.
“In your dreams, kid,” his uncle scoffed, then turned back to you. “Just the one, please.”
Eddie scowled at him and looked at you for help. You shrugged and smirked back. He wouldn’t get any sympathy from you. You were on his uncle’s side. Smoking was not a hobby you were keen on, even if the idea of him smoking a cigarette sort of gave you butterflies.
After they left, you felt equal parts relieved and empty. You went back to drawing and figured that would be the end of the day’s excitement, but a few minutes later, the bell rang again more frantically and Eddie was standing in front of you before you even had a chance to register it.
“One pack of Camels, please,” he muttered, clearly out of breath.
You stared at him, bewildered, and didn’t move.
“Please hurry,” he urged, frustrated by your hesitation. “My uncle is next door at the pharmacy and I may have lied and said you miscounted our change. Sorry about that, by the way.”
You raised an eyebrow and turned to grab another pack of cigarettes, then slid it across the counter towards him as he eyed the door nervously. He studied your lack of an expression as you waited for him to fish change out of his jacket pockets.
“You disapprove?” He asked.
“Just not a big fan of lung cancer,” You teased. He wasn’t expecting that response, and grinned at your repartee as he handed over his money.
“Okay, sure. But, how cool would they make me look, though?”
It was like he could read your thoughts. You didn’t reply to this, but he could probably guess your answer by the red flush that was painted on your cheeks. He put the pack of cigarettes in his pocket and patted it, then gave you a smirk.
“Can I trust you to keep this our little secret?”
“Sure, Eddie,” You snorted. “You can trust me.”
He seemed pleasantly surprised that you knew his name. Maybe even flustered. He was peeking up at you through his mop of hair shyly.
“Thanks. I owe you one. See you around.”
He turned to leave and took one last look at you before disappearing through the door. You watched him reunite with his uncle, who was grinning at him and reached up to mess with his hair. Eddie wrinkled his nose and pushed him away so he could fix it. You smiled to yourself as you wondered what he was teasing him about.
This interaction was enough to keep you hooked for another year.
The first time you realized your feelings for Eddie were more intense than you initially realized was during your junior year.
When you came back from summer break and saw him again in the cafeteria, you began to notice things about his appearance that you hadn’t before. He had let his hair grow longer, and you thought you saw the dark outlines of new tattoos on his arms. You had the sudden urge to go over and study them. You wanted to run your fingers over them, to know why he got them and what they meant to him. Your face burned red with shame at these thoughts. There was no way you could let yourself fall for him. You learned early on in your life that nothing good could ever come from those kinds of feelings. Only shame and heartache.
Later that year, he was pinning a flyer to the bulletin board near your locker. You recognized the name printed on it. It was the same big, bold letters he had sketched into his notebook a year prior: Corroded Coffin. You smiled a little as you realized that he had the courage to make his dreams a reality. Even though you had no right, you couldn’t help but feel slightly proud of him for it. He caught you looking once again, and smiled back at you.
You let your eyes linger on his face before you turned back to your locker to pull out a textbook. This time, he didn’t let it slide. He leaned against the wall, facing you, and crossed his arms.
“You should come, if you want to,” He said.
“Wh-what?” You asked in shock, nearly fumbling your books.
He nodded towards the flyer.
“To see my band. We’re not very good, but it could be fun.”
You stared back at him, your brain screaming at you to say something, but the words didn’t come. You were too busy noticing how big and dark brown his eyes were for the first time.
He shook his head as if he felt stupid for offering, but handed you a flyer anyways.
“Here. Just in case. You can totally tear it up and throw it out if you want. Just do me a favor and wait until I turn my back?”
He chuckled at himself. You still didn’t know what to say.
Did you want to go? Absolutely, yes. Would you go? No. Never.
First of all, the idea of showing up at The Hideout by yourself made your stomach churn. What would you even do alone at a bar? Secondly - and most importantly - your parents would never let you go in a million years and you were too bad at hiding things from them to sneak out. It was an impossible dream, but you didn’t want him to know it.
Your mouth opened and closed like a fish as you gawped at him. Eventually, he gave up on waiting for you to say something and gave a little wave before he strode away. You watched him go, hating yourself for missing yet another opportunity to get to know him.
When another year ended without you gathering up the courage to speak to Eddie, you thought that you had missed your chance for good. He was due to graduate, and Hawkins would probably be in his rearview mirror the second after he walked across the stage. He was too good for this town, and you knew it. You were devastated. But you were pleasantly surprised when you saw his familiar mop of curls at his usual table in the cafeteria on your first day of your senior year in 1984. You silently thanked god for his academic failings. You felt a little guilty for being so happy about it, but couldn’t help yourself.
After Halloween, you were at your locker getting your books when you saw Tommy Hagan and Carol Perkins approaching you. Your breath caught in your throat. Any time they locked eyes on you, you knew a painful interaction was about to ensue. No matter how hard you tried to keep your head down, they still managed to find you.
Once upon a time, the three of you had been friends. Your parents ran in the same circle and you had spent many weekends at each others’ houses. But in middle school, they realized that your meekness and occasional awkwardness was a major flaw and began to tear you down for it, just because they knew they could. That’s when you decided that having friends probably wasn’t worth the trouble.
“Hey, Y/N… Didn’t see you at Tina’s party. Were you too busy handing out candy with your mommy and daddy?” Carol sneered.
You pretended not to notice or care that they were speaking to you as you slammed your locker shut. They knew that your parents had always been controlling and overbearing, that you spent more time with them than anyone else whether you liked it or not, and enjoyed using this against you.
“Nah. Pretty sure she just wasn’t invited,” Tommy added.
“What makes you think I would have wanted to go anyways?” You snapped. Your eyes widened. Defending yourself was out of character for you.
“So you admit you weren’t invited? Ouch,” He said with a laugh.
You rolled your eyes and tried to push past them, but they weren’t ready to give up.
“It’s too bad. I heard Steve was saving a dance for you,” Carol said, cocking her head to the side as she feigned sympathy for you.
You wanted to ask them how they would even know this since you heard that Steve had finally come to his senses and dropped them last year after he began dating Nancy Wheeler, but thought better of it.
This was their second favorite bit of material to use against you. While you and Carol were still friends, you shared who the two of you had crushes on at a sleepover. She admitted that she had a crush on Tommy, and lucky for her, it worked out. But you had a crush on Steve Harrington. He was part of your friend group, too, and at the time she had nothing but kind things to say about it. But soon it turned into a cruel joke. It had been a long time since you had feelings for Steve, but for some reason the idea of the two of you together was so hilarious to them that they just couldn’t let it go. It didn’t matter if it was true anymore or not. You were still ashamed about it, and they knew it. You were just glad Steve wouldn’t be around to hear about it anymore.
“Aren’t we a little too old for this, guys?” You asked. It was a genuine, pleading question.
“That’s rich coming from you, Virgin Mary,” Carol scoffed.
Your complete lack of romantic experience was always her most reliable comeback. Tommy laughed and wrapped an arm around her proudly.
“Aren’t you the one who likes to hang out with little kids? That’s pretty weird, even for you.”
He was talking about Will Byers and Max Mayfield.
Ever since you had gotten a job at Melvald’s, Joyce Byers had been a confidant for you, and you did her the occasional favor of watching Will when she and Jonathan were both busy. After everything that had happened with his disappearance and the bizarre faking of his death, there was no question why she had trouble leaving him on his own. You were more than happy to help out. Besides, he was a sweet kid, and you had more in common with him than most people your age. You were a lot like him when you were his age. He was quiet and an outcast like you, and you had an unspoken understanding between the two of you. Mostly, you enjoyed sharing your drawings with each other.
Max, on the other hand, was new to town, and her brother, Billy, had recruited you to be her caretaker earlier that week. He had quickly taken stock of the social hierarchies of the school and made nice with Tommy and Carol, and consequently learned that you were an easy target. He also found out all about your desire to distance yourself from your parents, and knew that you had been trying to save up a little nest egg for when you graduated. Your parents had no idea that you weren’t planning to go to college, that your biggest dream was to leave town and try to make it as an artist. College meant four more years of misery and a degree that you didn’t want or need. Sure, your parents would pay for it, but only if you majored in something that they would approve of. Only if they could still control you. You couldn’t have that.
So, yeah, you agreed to look after Max for some extra cash, and you actually had a decent time hanging out with her. She was everything you wished you could have been at her age. Strong, confident, witty. She was cool. You were five years older than her, and still somehow completely intimidated by her. But she seemed to enjoy your company, too. She even let you borrow a couple of her comic books.
It didn’t take you long to recognize that familiar game of control in Max and Billy’s relationship, but at a much more sinister level. You couldn’t let him abuse Max the way he did. You decided not to accept Billy’s money, and made it a personal mission to be around for Max whenever she might need you. It was the very least you could do for her. The day before, Billy abandoned her after school and you offered her a ride home and let her know that you would be more than happy to be her chauffeur anytime. You didn’t want to make more trouble for her, but you also couldn’t stand the idea of her having to rely on Billy like that. You knew she could handle him. She had been handling him most of her life. But you wanted her to know that she didn’t have to be alone in it anymore.
You saw a lot of yourself in Max, but the most distinct difference was her bravery and ferocity. You were planning to run away from your problems, but she had been facing hers head-on her entire life. Somehow, she was able to take all of the shit she had been given in her life and used it to harden herself instead of letting it break her. It was devastating to recognize, but admirable all the same. If it were you in her shoes, you were certain that you would have crumbled.
You blinked at Tommy, unsure how to respond. Then you realized you wouldn’t have to when a voice spoke up behind you.
“Hey, needle-dick!”
You turned around to see none other than Eddie Munson, his arms crossed and a shit-eating smirk on his face. Your mouth hung open at the sight of him.
“You talking to me, freak?” Tommy scoffed back at him.
“Yeah. Don’t see anybody else that fits that description in this general vicinity. Do you? Do you, Carol? You would know.”
Carol rolled her eyes and Tommy removed his arm from her shoulders to lurch forward towards Eddie. He was less than an inch from his face, but Eddie looked completely unfazed by it. Amused, even.
“You better watch your fucking mouth, Munson. You looking to get your ass kicked or something?”
“I’m sorry, I just don’t see why you would waste your energy trying to tear down some sweet, unsuspecting girl when you’ve got this treasure trove of good material standing right in front of you. I’m actually kind of offended that you overlooked me.”
Tommy chortled at this, equal parts amused and aggravated by this response. He was pissed that he wasn’t able to scare Eddie the way he could other people, but was enjoying the challenge.
“I’ll take that as a yes, then,” He sneered, and grabbed him by the collar of his jacket to slam him up against the row of lockers.
You yelped in horror, but Eddie remained inhumanly cool. He bursted out laughing as Tommy tried to stare him down.
“You’re cute,” Eddie mocked him and made a kissy face at him, which immediately made Tommy draw his fist back in preparation to hit him. You jolted forward and pleaded for him to stop at the exact same moment that Principal Higgins appeared from behind the growing audience of students.
“Boys! Break it up, now!”
Tommy immediately released his grip from Eddie’s jacket and took a step away from him. The only thing he was afraid of was authority. Eddie, on the other hand, only rolled his eyes in response.
“Munson, how many times have we had this conversation? Why do you insist on seeking out trouble?”
“Guess I just can’t help myself,” He said with a shrug.
“My office. Now,” Principal Higgins responded with a disappointed shake of his head, pointing towards his office door.
Eddie didn’t try to argue with this even though it was complete bullshit. He just slung his bag over his shoulder and gave you a proud smirk before he walked away from you. Tommy and Carol glared at you as they linked arms and headed in the opposite direction. The crowd began to disperse, but you were still standing in front of your locker in shock, staring into space.
Did that really just happen?
You had been observing Eddie long enough to know that he also struggled with the occasional cruel comments from classmates. It was another one of the reasons you felt a ridiculous connection to him. The fact that he would willingly throw himself into the line of fire for you was something you certainly did not take lightly. It meant the world to you.
You couldn’t take it anymore. You had to speak to him, for real this time.
Did you really have anything to lose? Soon, high school would be over. You had spent the past three years hiding from everyone, trying to get by without making a sound. Without doing much of anything besides sitting in your room alone. The very least you could do was open your mouth to let Eddie know how much his act of kindness meant to you.
At the end of the day, you paced back in forth by Eddie’s van in the parking lot as you waited for him. You bit your nails and went over the speech you prepared for him in your head. Then you heard a familiar laugh approaching you and snapped your head up towards the sound. It was Eddie walking with some of his friends.
His eyes locked on yours as he said goodbye to them, then he pulled a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and stuck one between his lips as he approached you.
You smiled as warmly as you could at him even though you felt like throwing up.
“Hi,” You said meekly.
He grinned at this, showing all of his teeth as he lit the cigarette between them.
“Hi,” He repeated. “Y/N, right?”
You nodded as you watched him take a drag and turn his head away from you to let the smoke billow out of his mouth. He didn’t take his eyes off of you for even a second.
“Did you need something?” He asked.
This kind of question would have normally shut you down, but he said it with so much kindness in his tone that it soothed you instead.
“I… I wanted to thank you. For what you did earlier today. You really didn’t have to do that for me.”
He shrugged and kicked a broken bit of pavement with the toe of his sneaker.
“I just don’t like when someone goes out of their way to be an asshole to people who don’t deserve it.”
Your cheeks flushed. How did he know that you didn’t deserve it? You had barely uttered more than a single sentence to him. For all he knew, you could be an asshole, too.
“Well, it really meant a lot to me. So, thank you.”
“It’s no big deal. You could have handled him yourself. I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Did… did you get in a lot of trouble?”
“No more than usual,” He chuckled, but this admission made you wince.
“I’m so sorry. It’s not fair that you took all of the heat for it.”
“Really, it’s okay. Don’t feel bad. I’m used to it. Besides, I owed you. Remember?”
He flicked his cigarette then held it up to help jog your memory. You had almost forgotten about your exchange at the general store nearly two years ago. You were stunned that he even remembered.
He returned the cigarette to his lips as you searched your brain for something more to say to him. You were coming up empty.
“Okay. Well, thank you again. I’ll let you go,” You sighed and wrapped your arms around yourself as you began to walk away.
“Wait,” He called to you and put a hand on your shoulder to stop you. Your eyes widened at his touch and he pulled it away quickly. He exhaled loudly and threw his cigarette to the ground to stomp it out, then rubbed his lower lip with his thumb as he tried to choose his words carefully.
“Look, I know this is probably a long shot, but I have this thing tonight. We call ourselves The Hellfire Club. We play, uh… D&D. You ever heard of it?” He squinted like it was painful to admit this to you, and awaited your response.
“Sure. The kid I watch sometimes, Will Byers, plays it with his friends. He explained it a little to me. Sounds kind of fun.”
He let out a breath so deep that you could see it in his chest. He was fully expecting you to make fun of him, and was relieved when you didn’t.
“Awesome. Great. Well, we’re always looking for new members. So, if you wanted to come hang out tonight, that would be cool. I mean, it’s fine if you can’t. I know it’s last minute.”
“I’d love to,” You replied so quickly that it surprised yourself as well as him.
“Okay. Cool. We meet in the drama prop room - super fancy, I know. We usually start at eight.”
“Sounds good. Thank you for the invite.”
Your pulse was buzzing loudly in your ears as your heart raced, but you were trying to stay as visibly calm and collected as humanly possible. He was looking straight at you now, eyeing you up and down unabashedly, and you wanted to melt into the pavement.
“See you there,” He said with a grin and turned on his heel to get into his van. You waved at him lamely and watched him drive away as your stomach churned with instant regret. You hadn’t really thought through the consequences of agreeing to go.
What if the other members of the club wouldn’t want you there? What if you couldn’t figure out how to play and everyone got annoyed with you? What would you tell your parents you were doing instead?
When you brought D&D up to your mother one night after you had hung out with Will, she was horrified. She knew you had a penchant for fairy tales and make believe, especially as a kid, and was constantly worried that if she let you delve into those fantasies that you would lose your ability to function in the real world. Maybe she was right, but her incessant pushing for you to choose practical goals and hobbies didn’t stop you from falling into your daydreams. If anything, it probably pushed you towards them more as an escape.
All you would have to do is tell your mother that you would be at some sporting event. Was it basketball season? No. It was football season. You would tell her you would be at a football game. She would buy that, right?
You let out a deep breath as you continued to reassure yourself that everything would be okay.
Eddie Munson had asked you, specifically, to come hang out with him on a Friday night after all of these years. Maybe it wasn’t too late to get to know him, after all.
Surely, that was cause for celebration.
Later that evening, just before dinnertime, you got a phone call from Max. As soon as she started speaking, you could tell that something was wrong.
“Max? What happened?” You asked her, panicked. You could hear her breathing getting shallower as she was trying to fight back tears.
“Can you just come get me? Please?”
You agreed right away and told your parents that you were going to the football game like you had planned, but that you were leaving a little earlier so you could find good seats and have time to get concessions. You were impressed by how easily you could lie in a crisis. They bought it and handed you the keys to their car.
Why they would believe that you of all people would go to a football game by yourself, you would never know. Maybe because they were hoping that you were finally fitting in with your peers the way they wished you would. Whatever it was, you were grateful for the miracle.
As soon as you pulled up to Max’s house, she was already swinging open her front door and marching towards your car.
“Are you okay?” You asked as you watched her get in and buckle her seatbelt.
“Just drive,” She muttered.
“Where do you want me to-”
“Doesn’t matter. Just anywhere but here.”
You didn’t push any further. You just put the car in reverse and backed out of her driveway, heading nowhere in particular.
Since you hadn’t eaten dinner, you eventually decided to pull into McDonald’s and get the two of you a couple of Big Macs and fries to share. Max must have been hungry, too, because she didn’t object to this. You pulled into a parking spot and reached into the bag to hand one of them to her. She took it and immediately started eating.
You watched her for a moment and then decided to try to talk to her again.
“So, are you going to tell me what’s going on, or are we just going to eat here in silence until I take you home again? Because if so, that’s fine, but I would still like to know.”
She finished her last bite and crumpled up the wrapper in her fist.
“It’s just school. It sucks. And Billy’s a total asshole,” She mumbled as she chewed.
“Right. I’m sorry. Did something specific happen though? You sounded pretty upset on the phone.”
She swallowed and averted her eyes from you.
“He said something really awful to me. About my friend, Lucas.”
“What did he say?”
“He told me to stay away from him. He said, ‘Max, there are certain types of people you stay away from, and that kid is one of them.’”
You were stunned. You were aware that Billy was a piece of shit, but you didn’t know that he was also a racist piece of shit. You knew who Lucas Sinclair was, and he was one of the sweetest, kindest kids you had ever met. There was no other reason why Billy would make Max stay away from him. Your stomach churned.
“Jesus Christ,” Was all you could bring yourself to say.
“He threatened me, too. Grabbed my wrist really hard. It just freaked me out, I guess.”
You squeezed your eyes shut. You had never hated somebody more than you hated Billy Hargrove.
“Of course it did. I’m so sorry, Max. Maybe I could talk to your mom? Let her know how bad it really is?”
“My mom knows how he is. How he treats me. She doesn’t give a shit. His asshole dad is the exact same. She just lets him push her around, and Billy, too.”
You shook your head.
“Well, if there’s anything I can do at all, please let me know.”
“You can pass me the fries.”
You smiled and happily handed them over. You felt so powerless. If you could have kicked Billy’s ass, you would have gladly driven over to her house and did it right then and there. But you hoped that giving her a safe space to vent was helpful, too. It was all you could really offer her. Well, that, and comfort food.
“What about school? What happened there? Maybe I could help you with that.”
“I don’t think so. It’s just these boys I’ve been hanging out with. They treat me like shit. One second they want me in their party and the next they’re keeping secrets from me.”
“Their ‘party?’” You asked with an eyebrow raised. “Are you talking about Will Byers and his friends?”
“Yeah. Will, Lucas, Mike, and Dustin. They keep talking about this girl El and all of this mysterious shit that happened to Will. But they won’t actually let me in on any of it.”
“El? Who’s El?”
“I don’t know. But they had a meeting at school today and Mike wouldn’t even let me join. Dustin found this weird slug-thing and ever since they’ve been acting so weird. I’m so over it.”
Okay… So maybe you couldn’t help her with her school problems, either. All of that sounded pretty complicated and odd to you, but you did have a little bit of insight on what happened to Will. Not the whole story, obviously, but bits and pieces you had picked up from Joyce and Jonathan.
“Well, do you know anything about what happened to Will?” You asked.
“Yeah, kind of. Lucas told me he went missing and they thought he was dead. That some other kid drowned at the quarry and the police thought it was Will. He told me not to ask Will about it, though, because he’s having a hard time dealing with it.”
That last part was true. Will had pretty much stopped talking to you whenever you went over to watch him. The light he had inside of him seemed to have gone out. He didn’t want to share his drawings with you or talk about D&D or his friends. All he wanted to do was sit alone in his room. But you supposed this was an expected response after going through something so traumatic. You sighed.
“Maybe they’re all just trying to help him out and keep his business private. I know it’s not fun being on the outside, believe me, but sometimes people just need their space to deal with things. I’m sure they do want to be your friend, they just don’t know how much to tell you yet.”
“How much to tell me? So you think there’s more we don’t know?”
You blew a puff of air out of your lips. You hadn’t intended to peak her interest more. You had heard some pretty bizarre things from Joyce at the store and in her home, but you weren’t sure you should give any of that information out.
“I don’t know, Max. Maybe. It was a pretty wild ordeal. Lots of stuff about it didn’t make sense. I mean, I’ve never even heard about whoever this El person is before now.”
“What didn’t make sense?”
“Max, I really don’t think this is any of our business…”
“Come on. If you know something, you have to tell me. You said you wanted to help me. This is how you can help me.”
You rubbed your eyes and took a deep breath, full of regret for opening your mouth. But she was looking at you with puppy-dog eyes, silently begging to be let in on whatever secrets you knew, desperate for any scrap you could give her. At least this would serve as a distraction from her problems at home, right? How much could it really hurt?
“Okay, okay, fine. All I know is that the other kid that supposedly drowned was… completely made up somehow. There’s a laboratory on the edge of town, government-owned, that had something to do with it. They’re covering something up.”
Her mouth fell open in awe. She was clearly excited by this new bit of information, but it had always disturbed you since the moment you overheard Joyce talking to Chief Hopper about it. Max opened her mouth to pepper you with questions, but you put your hand up and tried your best to beat her to it.
“I don’t know why they did it, and I don’t want to know, okay? You’ll have to figure that out yourself if you’re really that interested. But do NOT, bring it up to Will, alright? Or Mike either, for that matter. They don’t need to worry about it right now. Promise me?”
She pressed her lips shut and nodded in agreement.
“Okay. I promise.”
You snatched a fry from her and chewed it as you stared out the windshield and she processed this new information. Then she looked at you out of the corner of her eyes.
“Wait, you’re not messing with me, are you?”
You thought about lying and telling her that it was actually a prank to spare her, but decided against it. She would probably find out the truth eventually, anyways, if she really was friends with the boys.
“No. I wish I was, but no.”
“Shit,” She muttered, shaking her head with a giant smile on her face. Her grin looked out of place next to your weary scowl.
“Yeah. ‘Shit’ is right. Welcome to Hawkins.”
After a couple of hours, you dropped Max back off at her house. You stayed parked on the street for a while to make sure she was safe, then pulled away when the house remained quiet.
It wasn’t until you were on your way home that you let yourself remember your plans to join The Hellfire Club that night. There was no question in your mind that agreeing to be there for Max was the correct choice, but a pit of anxiety and devastation grew in your stomach nonetheless. Hopefully, you would be able to gather the courage to explain the situation to Eddie on Monday and he would understand, but you couldn’t ignore the gnawing feeling that you had blown your final chance with him.  To be continued...

How often did Jaina go back to Kul Tiras while she was a studying in Dalaran?
At least once a year, possibly twice.
So the Warcraft timeline is infamously bad, and I haven't sat down and hammered it out yet. That means I may throw any or all of this out later.
But at any rate, Jaina goes home during the summer (and there is a summer break) for a couple of reasons:
Warcraft in general runs on "if it's not specified it's American" so of course schools take a summer break
Americans take a summer break because at the time public schooling got started, so many of the students were farm kids that if they tried to teach through summer, most of their students would not show. They had work to do. And despite Blizzard's aversion to specifying where food comes from, Dalaran has to have an agriculture (esp pre-Third War, which this is), and at any rate is surrounded by other countries that absolutely do have agricultures and they will all take summer off for farming reasons.
Piracy goes up when trade goes up. Trade goes up when the weather is decent. The weather is best for sailing in the summer. Jaina goes home because she is needed at home, even though she's still young.
My current (extremely likely to change) timeline has Derek killed when Jaina is 8 and Stratholme when she's 23. My suspicion is she goes to Dalaran around 10-12:
She's a horrible gremlin prodigy and everyone wants her to figure out what the hell she's doing ASAP
Apprentices historically started between 10-15
The goal for Royal Navy prospective lieutenants was to take the exam at 17, following 3 years as a midshipman which in turn followed at least 2 years at sea. In other words, Derek probably started on a ship at around 12.
She's then effectively 'graduated' by 23, probably a year or so earlier.
During that time, we knowwwwwww she went and hung out at Lordaeron, and it's reasonable to conclude that the Kul Tiran heir, engaged to the heir of Lordaeron, visited Silvermoon as part of an effort to keep the quel'dorei from leaving the Alliance. These were probably during shorter breaks.
But over the summer? When pirates are active, when both her parents need to work and at least one needs to be on a ship, when she's going to lead at least one and maybe two countries and Dalaran in no way is preparing her for that? She comes home, for a month or so, and plays sailor.

How to make a Chapter Cover
Righty'O!
I'll do my best to keep everything spoiler free/ minor, however that won't really be possible for anyone who hasn't ready Lost Children so... you've been warned?
(Aka. This is your chance to leave and go read it)
Alrighty, today I'll be walking you guys through my process of making Ch.11, 12 & 13's cover!
Normally I make different covers for each chapter, however since these chapters are more strategic divides to give the reader a chance to breathe (, one big chapter chopped into 3 parts), I felt one cover for the lot would work.
IDEAS
I had no ideas going into this, so my first thinking was to re-work the original Rocket Launch cover. Swap out Wilhelm & Ahnoldt for someone else, since that scene they're drawn from has been scrapped. In general, the idea was to use my improvement skills in composition/ design & character anatomy to produce a higher quality cover.
Tumblr media
For doing my idea, I make pen thumbnails, to experiment with composition & posing. This way I can try out different ideas without feeling too committed to them, or spending a long time on it.
I tried my re-work idea, but I didn't really feel it.
Instead, I started by writing down the important/ relevant characters in these chapters. I do this to make sure I, A) don't miss anyone, & B) select the most important ones as you can't fit EVERYONE on a cover without making it crowded.
Another thing I'll do is make a note (if I don't remember half-way through, like I did here,) of other things or characters which I want to show a visual image of. I'll do this to tease or hint at something which I feel may not come across well in writing, or I want to reinforce for the reader to notice. It's like another level of foreshadowing.
Eg. The cover for Part 1:
Take notice that the Triple Threat ending isn't glowing. This could either be interpreted as the past that led Henry to his current path, or the fact that him changing the timeline has broken the Triple Threat ending, creating a new one in it's place.
A bit more of a spoilery example, but the cover for the Checkmate Part 2 & 3. Notice the character's have a blue glow to their eyes. Anyone who's read the chapters after, what do you think this blue glow is suggesting about what they're seeing?
Another question I would hope the reader would ask from seeing this is, what other character is shown with a light blue? Could there be a relationship between that character and what is happening?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANYWAY
Usually, the process of making thumbnails can be anything from 1 to 10, but I found and settled on an idea quite quick today.
Tumblr media
I sketched out one other idea first, playing with the idea of Sven's storyline, but quickly scrapped it feeling it was A) Spoiler heavy, B) These chapters aren't written in his POV & C) his segment only effected one of the three chapters.
I felt I needed something more generalized which lead me to this layout:
Tumblr media
A design which incorporates elements of all three chapters, but done so in a fashion which gives little away. I think the only thing this cover spoilers is that no, Ahnoldt isn't dead following the end of Ch.10.
With my idea thumbnailed, I start on the sketch.
Tumblr media
I'm no good with digital line art and my sketches are... meh, so for me, it's easiest to draw my sketches traditionally and use them to make clean digital line art from later.
This is as far as I've got in progress, so I'll return once I'm ready to start the digital part :D
In the meantime, have these re-designs of Ellie & Henry, and what is a re-design for Katie, but I think your first look at her...?
