★ RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS

He invited you and Grim to the next unbirthday party as the guests of honor. So when he arrives everybody has their eyes on both of you and Riddle approaches to where you're seated and greets you, what he wasn't expecting was you getting out of your seat and greeting him with a kiss on the cheek.

Is flabbergasted pt.1 and he gets as red as a tomato. Inmediately begins screaming "Off with your head" and is only stopped when Ace and Deuce run towards you both and try to explain the situation.

He gets more relaxed now knowing that's just how people back in your world greet eachother, but please, don't do it in front of everyone again, or at least without warning him, Cater took a picture and posted it on magicam and Trey teased him for it. Apparently both of them knew and were eager to see his reaction.

Low-key really embarassed the rest of the unbirthday party, he can't stop thinking about it. Riddle makes a mental reminder to ask more about your culture now, just in case you surprise him out of nowhere again.

Also finds out about the hugging aspect when you two were studying for finals, when you hugged him excitedly when you passed a test thanks to his tutoring. He gets red again, but doesn't do anything to stop you from hugging him. Riddle can get used to it, but he won't probably ask for hugs unless you both are in a relationship, so ask him out already.

★ LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

Leona, for once, decided to eat at the cafeteria since Ruggie was sick that day and couldn't bring him his lunch. He sat alone on one table and nobody dared to approach him because if looks could kill, everbody that dared look at the housewarden would drop dead. That was until you spotted him and went to greet him. The whole cafeteria got dead silent when they saw you giving him a kiss on the cheek. THE Leona Kingschoalr being KISSED by the magicless human.

"Oi herbivore, you're really bold, aren't you? Daring to kiss me in front of everyone?" Leona looked at you with a grin, if it was another person that dared to do it and not you, he wouldn't have let it go, but it was you, so he is going to let it slide. Are you interested in him then?

Disappointed but not surprised when you explain that is a way of greeting people back in your world, but hey, at least he is in a better mood now, so you better sit and eat lunch with him (in silence).

When he overhears a first year Savanaclaw student, that doesn't like Leona, make fun of him, for going "soft", and you, for being "shameless" for that kiss, he's furious. The next day that student had to run an extra kilometer at morning training.

Regarding being hugged a lot, he doesn't mind, but he won't say that. He calls you "bold" and "fearless" for doing it, but doesn't stop you. Ruggie even saw you both asleep in the botanical garden while hugging. Maybe he has developed a soft spot for you after all.

★ AZUL ASHENGROTTO

I know I made headcanons of Azul being chilean, but Yana Toboso hasn't made it canon (smh octavinelle being latino in canon when) so I'll go with how he would react in canon.

Azul invited you to Mostro Lounge to taste the new menu he carefully planned as a way of raising the daily income. He greeted you at the entrance with Floyd and Jade behind him, when you suddenly gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"..."

"Shrimpy! I want a kiss on the cheek too! Why is only Azul getting one?"

Flabbergasted pt.2, give him a moment, he needs to sort out his thoughts. What just happened. Did the prefect just kiss him on the cheek out of nowhere? This wasn't part of the plan.

Jade interrupts his thoughts when he starts laughing at him, and Azul goes back to the real world and demands at explanation at you over what you just did.

He is still flustered even after you explain that's just a custom back in your world, but has to compose himself for the sake of the rest of the customers that are staring at him. He won't mention it again the rest of his life, unless you greet him like that the next time. Needless to say, Azul got teased by the tweels after who just wouldn't let it go.

Azul is also very flustered when you hug him out of nowhere when he helps you out with an assigment "on the house". Is this also a custom of your country? It is? Oh, he's a little dissapointed you "don't mean it" in a romantic way, since he's been interested in you for a while. Just don't hug him in front of Jade and Floyd, because: (1) They will make fun of him (2) Floyd will squeeze you.

★ KALIM AL-ASIM

Kalim organized a huge party celebrating that he passed his finals exams and every dorm was invited, which meant you were invited too. While Jamil was running around Scarabia trying to make sure everything was in the right place and making sure there was enough food, Kalim was waiting excitedly near the entrance for you to arrive.

When you arrived and gave him a kiss on the cheek, he stood there shocked for a second while Jamil had a heart attack right then and there. After like 5 seconds of Kalim thinking about what just happened, he gave you a kiss back and greeted you with the biggest smile you've ever seen. You didn't even explain what it meant, he just ran with it, excited that you gave him a kiss.

Kalim doesn't care whether it's a greeting or a romantic gesture, he's just happy you're here. He's whipped for you and will accept anything you give him. Jamil agressively disagrees, he is the heir of a wealthy family, someone could see this and misinterpret the situation, but Kalim doesn't care either way and will now greet you with a kiss on the cheek, if this makes you feel more at home then he will gladly do it!

He eagerly accepts your hugs, his love language is physical touch, so he's sooo happy when you hug him, even if it's out of nowhere. Give him all the hugs you want, no need to warn him. Kalim will make it an habit to surprise you with a hug from behind, be free to do it too!

★ IDIA SHROUD

The only one that isn't getting kissed in public. He invited you to his room to play this new videogame that just dropped. Idia had bought some snacks and brought some blankets so you wouldn't be cold when you suddenly arrived and kissed him. Idia.exe has stopped working.

Flabbergasted pt.3, he couldn't even utter the word "hello" he was going to say. He's literally that "what happened to hello? how are you? my name is?" audio on tiktok. He stands there looking at the wall behind you for around 2 minutes, in total silence. So you're both standing there in silence, even after you explain to him that it's a way of greeting someone where you come from.

Idia's soul probably left his body and had to come back because he just couldn't throw you out of his room to have a minute of self-reflection and to think about the meaning of the universe and why we're all here and-

His whole hair is pink and he just fiddles with his videogame controller the whole afternoon, only replying with short words. If you apologize to him he will get even MORE flustered and start panicking over what to do.

It's the same thing regarding hugs, his hair will turn pink and he will scream internally, give him 5 business days to recover, please. It's not that he hates you or doesn't respect your culture, it's just that Idia isn't used to physical affection by other than his brother and ocassionally, his parents. But he low-key likes it, just give him a few weeks to get used to it.

★ MALLEUS DRACONIA

He visits Ramshackle's garden every night, it's his favorite part of the day since you're the only one that doesn't care much about him being "royalty" and isn't walking around eggshells with him. But he's surely surprised when you greet him with a kiss on the cheek.

"You're certainly bold, child of man. You surprise me every day"

Were you trying to court him? Was this your way of telling him his feelings were mutual? No? It's just a human way to greet each other? He needs to cancel the wedding he was already planning then, a shame. What a disappointment, and you can see he's upset over it because you catch him pouting when he thought you weren't looking.

Sebek almost has a heart attack when he sees you greeting Malleus with a kiss on the cheek when you arrive to Diasomnia. He has never screamed so loud, the glass on the windows almost broke, people in Heartslabyul say they even heard it. Lilia stops him from separating you from Malleus, thankfully.

Malleus enjoys your hugs, they are warm and it makes him feel fuzzy. He even asked Lilia what was this feeling was. Please give him more hugs, he deeply enjoys it. He just assumes it's another human custom, and he's eager to learn more about your culture, please do tell him more. Now you have another topic to talk about in your night walks.

Is Guren a narcissist?

Lately I dislike Kagami's portrayal of Guren as much as the next person and tbh there's absolutely no way you can make me think he's an innocent victim or a tragic hero we should root for (though I still do root for him cause he's just pathetic and gay I love him). However, the amount of times i've seen both the hispanic and english fandom call him a narcissist is kinda surprising 👀 Now the question is...

So since I'm petty and I like analysing useless stuff, let's take a look at Guren's behavior and at what makes a narcissist to try to give a more elaborate answer. I'll give as a disclaimer that I don't intend to attack anyone or force anyone to like Guren with this post, I'm just a psychology student currently investigating personality disorders and I thought this take would be fun to share.

Also, english is not my main language so do feel free to point out if you see I make any mistake so I can correct it, please ;u;

So for starts, if we're talking about the reasons for why people use to call him a narcissist I believe that pointing out his behavior towards Yuu is a very fair argument, especially his behavior towards Yuu at the beginning of the manga. Guren expresses himself with superiority, these airs and graces and apparent laziness and lack of thoughtfulness. However I believe that if you know how the story in the light novels go and even more if you've read them, you'll realize that all this "I'm your saviour, your god, you owe me your life, blah, blah, blah" crap that Guren tells to Yuu is a way of imposing authority and exerting some kind of control over him.

Guren needed to exert this control and authority as a way to protect himself, his subordinates and his investigations from the JIDA higher-ups, but also to keep Yuu at bay, not only because he was a part of Guren's experiments but also because Yuu used to be a very asocial and volatile kid when Guren took him under his wing. Having an angry kid acting impulsively at his leisure all around the JIDA was not convenient for Guren or for anyone, honestly.

And yes, I'm not gonna deny that Guren is kind of a jerk, but that has more to do with his personality and his sense of humor than with being a narcissist. He's sarcastic, super hard-headed, quite blunt and may come off as conceited, but he's actually extremely aware of all of his mistakes and shortcomings. He recognizes that he is not the smartest or the strongest out there, he knows how powerless he is in the grand scheme of things and most importantly, he recognizes his mistakes and is absolutely willing to take his share of the blame for it.

Sure, he knows that he is a strong individual but that's because he's worked towards the objective of "being strong" his entire life, he's cultivated perseverance and done sacrifices in order to achieve that strength, and while he does like to show off sometimes, recognizing one's merits and being aware of your capacities is hardly the same as having delusions of grandeur. Plus, his motivations are very much oriented to help others, protect others; and although Guren used to have a very strong sense of self-preservation, after the catastrophe he decides to let go of it if it means that it will help him to achieve those goals of keeping his loved ones safe. He starts doing what he 'has' to do rather than whe he wants to do.

After Nagoya's Arc, the shameless and overbearing side of Guren's behavior gets toned down. He becomes more serious, he doesn't play and makes jokes as often and he also stops trying to impose himself to Yuu in the same way as before. There's no need of that superiority facade anymore after all the things that came to light and now that the JIDA poses less of a threat and that Yuu has become less of a subordinate and more of a collaborator, exerting the same authority as before is just not necessary.

And now that we're referring to Yuu, we also gotta point out that a narcissist lacks empathy and doesn't go out of his way to try to help or benefit other people, but Guren does feel affection towards Yuu. When Yuu came to him as a child full of rage, resentment, guilt and lust for revenge, Guren genuinely empathized with him, he took care of Yuu, tried to teach him what he knew and he pushed him to build a support network with his classmates when he didn't really had to do all that. He could've simply taken advantage of Yuu's grief and solitude to control everything about him and force him to collaborate, but he didn't. Even when doing that would've been the best and most practical option for Guren's purposes, he still decided against isolating Yuu. Plus a narcissist wouldn't be capable of the affection and compassion that Guren feels for Yuu. And it is also made clear that Guren does not enjoy using Yuu or hurting him, but Shinya and his squad are Guren's priority, putting his options in a balance, he knows that he has no choice but to keep using Yuu to make his plan work. And it IS selfish and cruel and abusive, we're not going to deny that, but arguing that he doesn't care about Yuu or anyone else but himself is a pretty reductionist (and tbh also incorrect) statement.

Now, let's take a look at Shinya's opinion about Guren, taking into account that Shinya is probably the person who knows Guren the best out of all of the Catastrophe at 16 cast and probably all of OnS.

First of all we have this scene during the Nagoya Arc in which Shinya shows concern about Guren cause he knows that Guren suffers when people die and that he's not good at handling that.

Guren cares about his subordinates, he is saddened by the death of his soldiers and during this arc, he even makes the rather emotional choice of going straight into a trap in order to save other soldiers that Crowley is holding as hostages, even when Mito and Shinya warn him that they shouldn't do it cause it is clearly a trap.

I know there's a lot of material that I'm not covering, but for the sake of not making this post longer than it already is, let's go ahead and just check some of the behavioural criteria that a person has to meet to be diagnosed/classified as a Narcissist; of course, taking into consideration that meeting one or two criteria isn't enough cause it is very likely that everyone will present some of these criteria some times throughout our lives. For a person to be considered a narcissist they must meet various criteria which manifest constantly in various different contexts of their life for most of the time. Some of the criteria include:

•A grandiose sense of self-importance, being it fantasies or behaviors and the expectation to be recognized as superior without real reasons.

In Guren's case, he's not really the type that brags about his deeds or that goes about life expecting people to praise him, specially when there's no reason. The only times one could say that he sort of acts this way is in his interactions with Yuu in the early chapters.

•A narcissist is very often preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love.

Although Guren, does desire power and recognition, he is aware of all he's lacking and beats himself up because of all these things that he knows he isn't good enough to achieve. We can also notice that ultimately, his desire for power originates from his desire to keep his loved ones safe.

•A narcissist believes that they are “special” and unique and they only want to associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions).

In Guren's case, he knows that he kinda sucks. A lot of the people around him belong to a higher status, have a higher military position or are better than him in one way or the other. What Guren does is working towards his betterment. He doesn't believe he's special, in the novels, he even seems to be a bit ashamed about the subordinates in the Ichinose manor thinking that he is a prodigy. We also have that although it is obvious that Guren regards his squad as the most important people to him, and is willing to commit atrocities and become very self-sacrificial for them it is not because 'they are the best' or because they have a high status that Guren's ego can feed on, but just because he loves them.

•A narcissist has an excessive need for admiration

Guren is indeed an admired character, however he doesn't "need" to be admired. Even before the apocalypse, the motive behind his goal was not to be admired but bring respect and dignity to his beaten up clan. He's had plenty of chances to show off, but he just doesn't really needs to be admired for that.

•A narcissist exploits their interpersonal relationships for their own benefit.

This point is a bit tricky cause Guren is undeniably using Yuu and he had the same intentions with Kimizuki and Yoichi to achieve his goals. However, besides from knowing that Guren would not be doing this if there was another way, when we take a look at the rest of his interpersonal relationships, specially with his squad, being exploitative of their relationship for his own benefit is just not there.

Some other criteria include an excessive sense of entitlement, a lack of empathy, constant envy and the belief that others are envious of them, and haughty behaviors, all of which we already tackled before.

So, taking everything in consideration, we come to the conclusion that although Guren has displayed some narcissistic attitudes, overall he does not fit the profile, therefore, Guren is not a narcissist.

This of course doesn't mean that we have to condone all the bad things he's done, but rather may help us gain a bit more insight into Guren's character. Exploring his relationship's dynamics, and other mental health conditions which's profiles he may fit would be fun as well. He is indeed a very flawed character, and maybe that's what makes him interesting.

imagine a hispanic yuu. imagine them speaking spanish just to confuse ace and deuce, i feel like azul would be able to speak spanish and idk why. like imagine yuu talking shit in spanish thinking no one knows what their saying and then azul responding in spanish to it. yuu would say smth like “El burro sabe mas que tu” to crowley or smth and crowley’s just like “what.” i feel like if yuu was hispanic and happened to speak spanish as well would be funny and they’d probably teach grim spanish bc he wanted to. they’d also probably wash grim in the sink or smth as well.

🦑: I’ve been WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!! i hc Azul to be hispanic(esp cuz of his name)so Juvia calls him Azulejo, which is literally a blue ceramic tile so she says it to mess with him 😭😭 She’d rather die than admit it but she looks up to Azul and is noticeably more energetic around him. Juvia and Azul became closer after the events of chapter 3 bcs of their similar backgrounds and tbh she would’ve went feral too!! Since I headcanon Nishinoya, Tanaka, and Yamaguchi all as Hispanic (Noya and Tanaka as Mexican, Yamaguchi as Panamanian) I cant help but imagine them all wreaking havoc in the club room by only speaking in Spanish (with the occasional misunderstanding as there’s a few word differences between the regions). But like just imagine. They pretend they’re talking about their teammates but really they’re talking about the most mundane things.

[extra and disclaimer] azul has the most serious songs, and then there's floyd, who's just, there. i also want to add, floyd's songs that he listens to aren't meant to be implying i'm trying to write suggestive/+18 content of him, what i'm trying to say it's that he listens to that particular genre of music (it's pretty popular among teenagers here in south america)

* . ° Me gustas tu by Manu Chao is a song that reminds me of him

"I like airplanes, I like you, I like to travel, I like you, I like the morning, I like you, I like the wind, I like you, I like to dream, I like you, I like the sea, I like you."

The song is about an enumeration of the things that he likes in life and how each one of them brings him to his lover.

* . ° Goma de mascar by Paty Cantú is a song that reminds me of him

"Insufferable love, how could I fall in love? I can't stand you it's the truth, because you bother and stick like chewing gum in my shoe when walking. We are an non-ideal case. But I love you, I love you [...] You are so vulnerable, so tender, so kissable. I'll always love you..."

The song is about a girl that hates the fact that she's so hopelessly in love with her lover. It reminds me of Ruggie because falling in love wasn't in his plans, but he's just so whipped for you.

* . ° O sol e a Lua by Pequeno Cidadão is a song that he would listen to

"The sun asked the moon to marry him, and the moon said 'I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, give me some time.'"

The song is about the sun's love for the moon and his desire to marry her, but the moon rejects him. The moon is firm on her decision, and he goes ask the wind, who can't help either. At the end, the sun has to accept his feelings aren't mutual and that one day, he will found somebody who loves him too.

* . ° Mangalenha by Sergio Mendes is a song he would listen to

"Come Magalenha Rojão, bring wood for the stove, come to set the stage. Today is a sunny day. Our happiness, is enjoying summer."

The song is about brazilians enjoying themselves and celebrating. And Ruggie is brazilian (in my headcanon) so it makes sense, trust me.

★ AZUL ASHENGROTTO

* . ° La gata bajo la lluvia by Rocío Dúrcal is a song that reminds me of him

"Love, I know, don't say anything, really. If you see any tears, sorry, I know you didn't want to make an injured cat cry [...] You see, life is like that. You go and I stay here, it will rain, and I will no longer be yours, i'll be the cat under the rain. And I will meow for you."

The song is about a woman realizing their love couldn't be, and as her lover leaves her, she is left heartbroken, like a cat under the rain calling for their owner. It fits Azul if you imagine Yuu leaving him to go back to their world, him being left alone and heartbroken.

* . ° Él me mintió by Amanda Miguel is a song that reminds me of him

"He lied to me. He told me he loved me, and it wasn't true, he lied to me. He didn't love me, he never loved me, he let me adore him. He lied to me, he lied to me. It was a game, and nothing more, it was just a cruel game of his vanity. He lied to me, of all the love that I swore was there, there was never anything. I was just another one that loved him."

The song is about a woman finding out her lover didn't love her and played with her feelings. 'He lied to me, he lied to me' being the only thing she can think about. This could easily be a good angst scenario for Azul, realizing he was never truly loved and Yuu toyed with his feelings.

* . ° Maquillaje by Mecano is a song that reminds me of him

"Don't look at me, don't look at me. Don't, don't, don't look at me. Don't look at me, don't look at me, leave it like that. Today I haven't had my hair styled, and I have an image too normal for you to like me [...] You can look now, look now, you can look, I've already put on my makeup. And if you look at my image you're going to be surprised, and you'll want to kiss me."

This song is about a woman who doesn't want her lover to see her without makeup, because they could find her unattractive. This relates to Azul because, even if he doesn't use makeup, this could be interpreted like Azul not wanting to be seen as weak, keeping an perfect image like a mask.

* . ° A quién le importa by Thalia is a song that reminds me of him and that he would listen to

"I know that they criticize me. I know they hate me. Envy corrodes them, my life overwhelms them. Why will it be? It's not my fault. My circumstances insult them. My destiny is what I decide, the one that I choose for myself. Who cares about what I do? Who cares about what I say? I am like this, I will continue like this. I will never change."

This is literally how Azul felt in that scene of book 3 where the Octavinelle student insults him. And I totally didn't add this because I felt bad for Azul for having the saddest songs here. This is also Azul's anthem, trust me.

★ JADE LEECH

* . ° Frente a frente by Jeanette is a song that reminds me of him

"Only the desire to cry remains, seeing that our love goes away. Face to face, we look down. Well, there's nothing left to talk about, nothing, only the desire to cry remains, seeing that our love goes away."

The song is about heartbreak after a breakup, because of the relationship crumbling. Another one that could be angst material about breaking up with Jade.

* . ° Livin' la vida loca by Ricky Martin is a song that reminds me of him

The song is about an irresistible, particularly sinister wild woman who lives on the edge and makes men fall in love with her. I am aware that this isn't a song in spanish, and that there's also a spanish version, but: (1) Jade doesn't fit the lyrics of the spanish version and I also don't like it. (2) This version is just too good, and at least "la vida loca" is in spanish. I choose this one for Jade and not Floyd because it talks about someone who's particularly good at being charming and can also be sinister.

"She'll make you take your clothes off and go dancing in the rain. She'll make you live her crazy life, but she'll take away your pain. Like a bullet to your brain. Come on! Upside, inside out, she's livin' la vida loca (the crazy life)."

* . ° Te espero by Ede is a song that he would listen to

"Tell me, what do you want from me. I only have these hands, their strength blinds my subtle grief. While I stay to see you dance, sometimes I still wonder if I never should have stayed to be the one who waits. And I wait for you, even so I wait for you. I wait for you everywhere. I wait for you even though it hurts more."

The song is about a woman, her unrequited love and the emotional struggle that comes with waiting for someone who may never return those feelings. I wrote back then in the latino headcanons I made that Jade likes listening to those sad songs about heartbreak and suffering so he can clean the lounge dramatically."

* . ° Te vas by Grupo 5 is a song that he would listen to

"And today you leave, you leave, you leave, you leave. But I know that you have to remember me for something. Maybe with him you have compared me. I don't think I'm better, I was just different, nothing more."

A song about a man asking his ex-lover if they still remember him, and if they treat her as well as he used to. Another dramatic song that Jade probably listens to.

★ FLOYD LEECH

* . ° Torero by Chayanne is a song that reminds me of him

The song is not about being a literal bullfigher that kills, but to be somebody brave, like those that have the courage to go against bulls. It's about being capable of that to be deserving of their lover's affection. This song fits Floyd because of how passionate he could be to earn Yuu's love.

* . ° Con calma by Daddy Yankee is a song that he would listen to

"What's your name, baby? Since I saw you, I knew you were for me, tell your friends that we are ready, we follow this at the afterparty, come on! What's your name, baby? Since I saw you, I knew you were for me, tell your friends that we are ready. With your hand up, follow him! (at the after party)."

The song is literally just about adults flirting and twerking and that. Floyd listens to it because, like the majority of latino teenagers, he likes reggaeton.

* . ° Gasolina by Daddy Yankee is a song he would listen to

"She likes gasoline (whatcha saying?), give me more gasoline (hey, hey, hey). She loves gasoline (whatcha saying?), give me more gasoline (hey)."

The song uses the words "likes gasoline", that's well known in Puerto Rico, and it can be translated as "she likes to go out and have a good time". Once again, he just likes reggaeton, and it's literally impossible to have lived here in latin america without haven't heard this song at least once, it was EVERYWHERE.

I really wanted him to win then turtore Mika like how he asked his demons to do its first step on 101 and 102.

I really wanted to see him sacrificing Yuu like a scapegoat in front of everyone's eyes.

I really wanted to see how he kills all the remaining humanity and creat a dark dark devilish world and everybody being his slaves on it.

And why would I like that? Easy, because I really wanted to see people's reactions after that like they would be like this:
