(All ask prompt lists are in my pinned posts, and sorry for any mistakes, most of this was copied and pasted from photos of notebook paper, and it does not like my handwriting lmao)
TW: throwing up
Tumblr media
Ozzy only liked to eat if someone was watching him. Steve said it was because he wanted to feel safe and protected, but Eddie knew it was because he was an attention whore.
He was currently perched on top of the table, his black tail swiping impatiently as he meowed at Eddie—not pawing the open laptop closed yet, but it looked like he was thinking about it.
“M'doing work, babe,” Eddie muttered gently, reaching out to pet the cat but he ducked away. He rifled through his notes again, trying to remember what name he and Steve had decided for the elven lord. Steve didn’t normally help with Eddie's novel—said he didn't know enough about fantasy and the like, and he didn't want to ruin it—but he had sat down with Eddie on the couch and looked through lists of Welsh names until he found one he thought sounded fit for an elven lord.
And Eddie had agreed, it was a name fit for an elven lord, but he couldn't remember, and he just needed to find the stupid paper with the character names—
Meow!
Eddie's eyes moved back to the cat, and that added on top of the stress of writing made something inside of him snap. “Ozzy, babe. I’m working.”
The cat shied away, his ears flattening and his eyes widening. Eddie ran a hand down his face. This wasn't worth yelling at his cat over.
“Oz…” he closed the laptop and picked up the cat, carrying him to the laundry room. They kept his food on top of the dryer, because when he and Steve had moved in (what... three years ago?) Ozzy had decided that the laundry room was his room, and that people could only actually do the laundry if he liked them.
Eddie set Ozzy down in front of the food dish and pressed a kiss to his side before going to get the hampers from his and Steve's (and Wayne’s) room.
Wayne had been living with them since they had bought the house, and he had lived with them in their apartment before that. he was in charge of doing the “adult things”, even though Eddie and Steve were nearing (thirty twenty-seven for Steve and twenty-eight for Eddie, although Eddie was almost twenty-nine), because Steve's memory couldn't be trusted for things he wasn't one hundred percent in on, and Eddie just couldn't be trusted to do most things on his own. He would much rather be writing.
Wayne still worked as a mechanic, downtown, but this time he liked his job. He'd never leave if he  could, but that meant that he wouldn't get to watch baseball with Steve.
Eddie swore that sometimes it felt like Wayne loved Steve more than him.
Steve was working as a teacher—middle schoolers—and he hadn't been doing it for all that long, but the kids loved him. And he loved them back. Especially one girl named Hayden, because he said she reminded him of Max (Max worked with Gareth at a bookstore a little while away. They shared an apartment, and Max didn't really "work" at the store, seeing how her eyesight fluctuated, but Gareth didn’t mind the company)
And then there was Eddie. Who wrote. The whole rockstar thing hadn't really worked out for him, but he and the guys still got together to play whenever Grant and Jeff were in town.
He was working on his hovel, and he hated every second of it. Sure, he loved writing, but writing an entire-ass-novel was hard.
"It's basically a Lord Of The Rings fanfiction!" He had sobbed to steve one night in bed after he had finally (after six months) finished the rough draft for the outline. “I hate it.”
Steve had just hummed in acknowledgment for a moment, half-curled around Eddie with the messy papers in his hands. "Isn't everything based off of something?"
Eddie had shrugged, keeping his face tucked into Steve’s neck.
“I like Ophelia.” Steve had whispered, pressing a kiss to the side of Eddie's head. "Isn't she the one that stabs the guy with the horns?"
Eddie tried to hum an “mhm” of confirmation, but it came as more of a whine of despair.
“The drawings you did of her for El were pretty,” Steve had continued, his voice gentle and patient in a way that Eddie adored as he nudged his nose into Eddie's hair a bit more. "You should show her these on Sunday when she and her friend Maya come to visit." Eddie had. And honestly? Aside from Steve and Wayne, El was the only reason the novel was even being made. He wouldn't be able to even open his laptop without her nagging and consistent support over the phone.
She lived up north near Jonathan and Argyle, somewhere near New York, and she drove out with her roommate to visit him and Steve occasionally.
Eddie blinked when Ozzy meowed again, rubbing against his flannel pajama pants he hadn't changed out of yet. "All done, bud?" Ozzy didn't answer.
Sometimes Eddie felt like he was going insane, talking to his cat.
He put in the detergent and made sure the clothes were spiraled so that they would wash better, before turning it on, the clear lid closed. He didn’t know what buttons to press, but he knew what noise they were supposed to make and in what order. Steve was normally in charge of laundry, but most of the kids had presentations to do, and the other half were doing theirs tomorrow. He’d probably be too tired to do the laundry when he got home.
Tumblr media
Eddie heard the door open and close, and he assumed it was Steve, because Wayne wasn't supposed to be home for another hour or two.
"Stevie?" Eddie called out, and he kept talking when he didn't get an answer, because sometimes Steve got home and had what Eddie called Quiet Time, where he would just stay silent and listen to Eddie talk for a while before taking a shower and maybe having a nap." You want any apple? I had one just before you got here, but I left the peels on a bowl on the table, because I love you and things you like, even though it's weird. There’s seltzer too, but it's probably still warm because I only put them in the fridge like…fifteen minutes ago. Might be fine if you put ice in it, though.”
Eddie knew something was wrong even before Steve shuffled into the kitchen—all hunched over, his eyes rimmed red and his cheeks wet, glasses perched low on his nose, nearly slipping off of his face—because there were no arms wrapped around his waist, no face pressed into his neck, and no Robin Buckley perched on his counter.
She had been driving Steve to and from... basically everywhere since he had gotten his license taken away. The doctors—and anyone—didn't trust him to drive with his seizures. It had taken Steve a while to get used to not being everyone's personal chauffeur anymore.
"You okay, babes?" Eddie asked softly, concern seeping into his tone as Steve leaned against the doorframe.
"I feel like I'm gonna be sick,” Steve choked out, his voice strained.
“Oh, sweetheart...did one of your kids get you sick? "Eddie asked, taking Steve’s glasses off and setting them onto the kitchen counter before cupping his elbow and helping him over to the bathroom.
He gently pushed Steve down to kneel in front of the toilet, tugging his hair up and out of his face. It wouldn't have gotten in the way, but it looked adorable when all of the fringe that would normally sweep over his forehead in its coif was gathered up in a little ponytail on top of his head.
As much as Eddie would always be there for Steve, he still made a face and cringed away slightly when Steve threw up, smoothing his hand up and down Steve's spine and shoulders as Steve gagged and sobbed between painful-sounding heaves.
Eddie slipped off Steve's jacket when he went limp in his arms, reaching over to flush the toilet. “Shower?”
Steve shook his head, his face contorting into something pathetic that made Eddie’s heart tug.
"What's the matter, baby? "Eddie murmured, wrapping his arms around Steve's waist, his chin tucked over Steve's shoulder. He'd make Steve get up and brush his teeth in a bit after he had sat and rested. He was still shaking, so Eddie doubted he would be able to stand okay right then.
“I’ll have to call in sick tomorrow,” Steve gasped, shaking his head. “I won’t be able to go in.”
“You don’t want to stay home and rest? Darling, I love you and you are so beautiful, but you look like death right now. You’re more pale than me.”
“Liam has his presentation tomorrow. I have to be there! H-he has a hard time speaking, and—a-and I don’t want him to be nervous. I promised him I’d be there for him,” Steve said, his voice broken and desperate, and God, Eddie was so in love with man that it physically hurt.
Steve was so kind, and caring, and sweet, and compassionate, and the list just went on, and on, and on.
“Look at me,” Eddie whispered, his fingers brushing over Steve’s stomach. “Just breathe, okay? Liam will be okay.”
Steve shook his head again, his breath shaky and his hands gripping at Eddie’s arms like he was scared to let go. He looked like he was going to throw up again if he didn’t calm down, and didn’t want him to have to go through that anymore.
“Liam will be okay,” Eddie repeated, his voice a bit more firm as he pressed a hand gently to Steve’s chest. “Breathe.”
Steve did breathe, but his voice was still shaking, and Eddie’s hand went up and down with each movement. “I promised him…”
“I know you promised him,” Eddie whispered, pressing a kiss to Steve’s forehead. “But you can’t control these things. He’ll be alright, baby, he’s a good kid.”
Eventually, Steve’s hands loosened and slid up to Eddie’s shoulders. He pushed himself to stand, and Eddie followed after him. “I’m…I’m okay now.”
“You’re okay,” Eddie parroted back, rubbing Steve’s arm up and down as Steve got his toothbrush out of the mug Wayne had put in the bathroom shelf. It was for some fishing company in the Adirondacks that Eddie had never heard of.
The door creaked open just a bit more than it already was and in strolled Ozzy, meowing lightly. Eddie picked him up when he stood to paw at his thigh, cooing, “Aw, there’s my baby…”
He pressed a kiss to the top of Ozzy’s head, and the cat meowed in protest, now seeing it be a bit against his original plan of being cradled and snug in Eddie’s arms if it meant he had to be kissed.
The poor thing lived a very hard life.
“M’thought I was your baby,” Steve muttered around his toothbrush, and Eddie rolled his eyes, gently knocking his hip into Steve’s, kissing Ozzy’s head again as he squirmed and tried to escape the confines of Eddie’s arms.
“I can have more than one baby,” he said, and then his voice turned more serious. “Oh, shit, I have to call Nance and tell her that we can’t have Megan over tomorrow afternoon.”
Megan was Nancy’s three year old daughter, and she was lovely, but she was stubborn.
Steve’s face crumpled slightly as he washed the toothbrush off, and Eddie watched him try to hide it by pinching at his nose and sighing. “I’m so sorry, Eds, this is ruining all of our plans…”
“Hey, no,” Eddie set Ozzy down when he started to kick at his arm, biting at the sleeve of his t-shirt. “Steve, honey…”
Steve’s eyes were glassy again when Eddie finally got him to look at him. “I hate being sick,” he practically whimpered, his expression pleading, and fuck—if Eddie could make him feel better he would, but that wasn’t really an option.
“I know, sweet thing,” Eddie murmured sympathetically, pressing a kiss to Steve’s knuckles. “You wanna go and lay down? I’ll get you some Tylenol?”
Steve nodded and Eddie helped him to bed, getting him changed even though he could do it himself. He got Steve the pill and some water and told him that if he wanted to shower when he woke up he could, but the water couldn’t be hot in case he passed out again, like he had the last time he was sick. Head injuries with Steve were no joke.
He got Steve’s bag from where he had left it by the front door when he had come in, then switched the laundry over and when he was just sitting down to work again, Wayne got home.
“You’re early.”
Wayne shrugged, picking up one of the apple peels out of the bowl and popping it into his mouth. “Katie forced me to come back before I started workin’ on another car.”
“Hm,” Eddie hummed, opening the laptop. “Steve got home sick, so be nice.”
“M’always nice.”
Eddie sighed, shaking his head slightly with a smile before getting back to work.
Tumblr media
Steve hadn’t wanted Eddie to sleep with him in case he got sick, too—offering to sleep on the couch instead so that Eddie could have the bed, but Eddie had very lovingly said “fuck no” to that. He was curled around Steve, nose pressed into the sweaty hair on the back of Steve’s neck.
Wayne was out on their neighbor’s porch smoking, and Ozzy was put away in the laundry room (his cat house had been moved there before Eddie crawled into bed, he wasn’t evil) so that he wouldn’t wake everyone up at four in the morning.
There was a trash can by the bed, because Steve had thrown up again after dinner, even though he had barely eaten anything.
“How much did you write today?” Steve whispered, voice scratchy and hoarse
“You’re supposed to be sleeping, babes,” Eddie muttered, pressing a kiss to Steve’s shoulder.
“But how much?”
“Three thousand, maybe. Maybe a bit less.”
“That’s a lot.”
“Debatable.”
Steve laughed, then coughed, wincing.
“Go to sleep,” Eddie whispered, his lips brushing against Steve’s skin.
Steve still had that ridiculous ponytail on top of his head. Either he didn’t know it was there still, or he had finally come around to realizing how adorable it was.

A story where R is really self conscious about their mobility aid (a cane if possible). Maybe one of the middle schoolers says something rude. And mostly a lot of comfort from Mel
i hope this is good enough because i wrote it in between teaching a bunch of first graders and babysitting two little gremlins

You had finally decided to bite the bullet and get your knee replaced after months of agonizing pain with a little nudge from your wonderful wife. You had hoped it would be replaced and healed by the time the school year started up again, but unfortunately that was not the case. You weren’t able to get it replaced until the end of July, and with class being back in session at the end of August, you’re still using the cane and you’re under pretty strict restrictions.
“Maybe I should just take a month’s leave until I can walk without this damned thing,” you mutter to yourself as you’re sitting in Melissa’s classroom while she finishes prepping her room for this year’s upcoming little eagles. “I don’t want the kids to see me with this.” You lazily gesture to the cane that’s next to you.
“That’s up to you, my love,” Melissa tells you as she passes you by to hang a new Eagles sign. “But I do think that you’ll be incredibly bored while you’re recovering and no one is around.”
She’s right. You’ll be bored out of your mind if you decide to take off for a month- especially without her to keep you entertained. And you know that you hate having subs; if the principal would even be able to find a substitute for you this late into the game. So you decide that you’ll just have to tough it out despite the fact that you’re incredibly self-conscious of having to use the mobility aid at such a young age. You get stares while you’re just in the grocery store and hobbling around with your wife (she tries to insist that you stay home and rest, but you tell her that you like spending the time with her and that you need to stay at least somewhat active).
Development days come and go, most of your staff and team doing everything they can to make life easy for you- Ava even going as far as spray painting your parking spot in the front so that she knows not to rent out the space during the Eagles barbecue that she holds every year (both you and Melissa thank her for that). Janine and Jacob help you to set up your classroom while Gregory finds different workouts that are supposed to help it heal faster on top of the rigorous physical therapy that you’ve been attending. And Barbara is there to make sure that both you and your wife were well-rested and eating- offering moral support in any way she possible can.
And so, the first day of school is upon you. The redhead insists on carrying your things to your room, and she sets a chair outside of the door for you to be able to greet your students when they come in. As your old students run past you to get to their new teachers, they give you the biggest and warmest hugs, telling you that they hope you feel better. You see Melissa standing outside of her door, greeting her new students with the same gusto that she always does, and then she looks over to you. She gives you a questioning look, and you nod and smile in her direction- quietly raising your mug filled with coffee in a toast. She reciprocates your action and blows you a kiss subtly.
You hobble your way back into the classroom and take a seat at your desk while the kids settle in and do the morning work that is on their desk. After morning announcements, you have them all gather on the carpet and explain to them how this year is going to work. One of them raises a shy hand.
“What’s up, hun?” you ask one of the girls.
She asks you hesitantly, “Why do you have a cane? I thought only old people have a cane.”
You smile at her gently. “Thank you for asking, sweetheart. Mrs. Schemmenti had a knee surgery over the summer, and I’m still recovering. I’ll only need it for another month, maybe a little longer. But while I have it, everybody needs to be careful and gentle. I can’t walk around much either, so I’ll be teaching from my desk for the time being.”
Your class is overwhelmingly supportive of this, and they are so sweet about asking if you ever need anything or if they can help pass out papers for the entirety of the morning. This group is a bunch of love bugs who make you get well cards when you give them a bit of free time while you’re waiting to be called down to the gymnasium for the beginning of the year assembly.
You’re incredibly thankful that Ava calls your grade first so that you can make your way down slowly and find a seat before anybody else can swoop in- the last thing you need is to have to stand in the back because all of the chairs are taken. You’re pretty sure if that happened, your wife would riot for you, but that isn’t necessary.
You have your kids take a seat, Melissa slides in next to you and takes your cane to prop it up against the wall, and then you settle in for whatever ridiculous first day of school assembly will present itself this year.
Because you were the first ones in, you’re also the last ones out. It gives you time to get yourself and your kids ready to head back to the classroom for the small break they have before they head to lunch.
But when lunchtime comes, you get swept up in the sheer chaos of trying to get your students to the cafeteria in time so that you have your full lunch break. There are the little ones who are walking through the halls with their eyes wide and full of wonder, your kids who are walking at a fast pace that you’re having a hard time keeping up with, and then there are the older ones who couldn’t care less that you’re attempting to make your way through the halls without bumping into anyone. It doesn’t help that half of the middle schoolers now tower over you.
In a rush, one of them knocks the cane out of your hand with their lunch bag and snorts with laughter. “I thought canes were for old heads!”
Another one of them shouts that you’ve really let yourself go, and maybe it’s time for you to go into early retirement if you can’t walk around without the help of your mobility aid.
You stumble without the crutch there to lean on, and you nearly fall until Melissa has looped an arm around your waist and is helping to hold you up. You lean against her heavily as you try to steady yourself again. She turns to shout at the two who were making fun of you, but they’re already swept up in the sea of children that are all wearing the same uniform. She doesn’t know who to yell at, so she quickly turns back to you.
The student that is standing next to you looks absolutely appalled and picks up your cane immediately. She hands it to you gently. “Are you okay?”
You nod and gesture for her to continue walking. Your students do as they keep their eyes trained on you to make sure that you’re okay.
Once all of your kids are in the cafeteria and you see that they are all seated and eating or in line to get a school lunch, you turn. Melissa is still right at your side, her arm still looped around you.
“Go enjoy your lunch, babe,” you tell her gently as you take her hand away. “I’m just gonna sit in my room for lunch if you wouldn’t mind bringing my kids back down with you when the period is over?”
“You don’t want to have lunch with us?” the redhead asks you quietly.
“I don’t know if I can make it down to the staffroom, and then the lunchroom, and back today,” you admit softly. “My knee is really hurting from physical therapy yesterday.”
“I’ll be down with your lunch,” Melissa promises. She squeezes your hand gently before turning on her heel.
You settle at your desk, and despite yourself willing the tears not to spring to your eyes they do. You wipe at them furiously. The comments from the older kids really shouldn’t be affecting you the way that they are. And you really would rather not have your wife see you shedding tears over their idiotic comments- you know she’ll be roping Ava into a manhunt to see who it was anyway, and it’ll only be that much worse for the students if she catches you crying.
Your wife comes in with both of your lunches and an icepack for you- not that you requested one. You quickly wipe your tears as you hear her heels hitting the tile underneath of her, but she still sees it.
“Hun, does it hurt that bad?”
You turn to her with a sad smile. “No. I’m fine,” you lie through your teeth, but your voice betrays you and it cracks ever so slightly.
She sets your lunch in front of you and pulls up two chairs. She gestures for you to set your leg up on the second chair as she sits int he one next to you.
“Mel, you really can go enjoy lunch with he crew,” you tell her gently. “I’ll be okay by myself.”
“Ice,” is all she says as she takes a bite of lunch. She sets the pack on your knee, and you flinch slightly as the cool sensation ripples through your body, sending a shiver down your back.
You sit there, and she watches worriedly as you don’t make a move for your lunch at all.
“Babe, you have to eat,” she says softly.
You shrug and wrap your arms around yourself. “I’m not that hungry.”
“My girl? Not hungry?” the redhead teases you. “C’mon.”
You don’t know what happens, but something within you snaps. “When I’m not burning nearly as many calories as I used to because of this fucking knee, I don’t get as hungry!” You burst into tears again. “God, I never should’ve gotten it done, and then I wouldn’t need this damn cane!” You throw it across the room in anger before curling in on yourself.
Your wife is up and retrieving it in seconds, only for you to throw it past her again.
“Babe,” she warns as she picks it up again.
“I don’t fucking want it! I’m sick of everyone staring at the young woman who has to depend on a god damn cane to walk!” you cry.
“Is this because of-” she starts to ask you, but you cut her off.
“I’m sick of being stared at in the grocery store, or when we decided to go to Hershey and I had to use one of the wheelchairs! I don’t want the kids to go home and tell their parents that I’m some poor, crippled woman who can’t teach standing up!” you choke out. “I- I just want to be normal again!”
“So help those kids who pushed past you,” she grumbles before taking her seat back and wrapping her arms around you. She kisses you gently. “It’s all part of the healing process. You’ll be back to running around in no time, and you aren’t going to be in as much pain.”
“It’s going to be at least another month before I can walk without the cane,” you yell, frustrated tears falling down your cheeks.
“And you know I’ll always be here to lean on, your kids will clearly do everything they can to help you, and you know the staff here has your back,” she tries to comfort you.
“I couldn’t even properly take my kids to lunch,” you sigh, and you hate how whiny you sound.
“So I’ll take them and bring them back for you with my kids,” your wife tells you. “That way all you have to worry about is getting to and from the staffroom.”
You close your eyes and take a deep breath. “You already do so much for me.”
“And I will continue to do everything I can for you for the rest of my life,” she tells you with confidence. “When I said for better or for worse, I was serious.”
“I love you,” you whisper as the first genuine smile appears on your lips since the lunch incident.
“I love you too,” she mumbles as she leans in to kiss you. Then she pulls away and pushes your lunch towards you. “Now eat. I know you’re hungry.”
You pick up the fork and shovel some food in your mouth. So maybe you lied to Melissa when you said you weren’t hungry.
Come the end of the day, your wonderful wife picks up your kids and takes them out for dismissal while you ice your knee again. You see the kids off with a wave and a smile as they tell you that they hope you feel better soon. You’re given quite a few hugs, and a few drawings of you with the students are mixed in.
When you expect her to come back in once the kids are gone though, she doesn’t. And you can’t really leave without her because you can’t carry everything and navigate the halls with your cane just yet. You shoot her a text.
Did you forget about your crippled wife?
I’ll be down in a few, she responds quickly. Just chatting with Ava.
She’s telling the truth because the next thing you know, she’s in your room and grabbing your bags along with all of hers, and you’re heading out for the night.
“Why were you chatting with Ava?”
“Just had a few questions for her about this school year,” is all the redhead says. “Now let’s get going- you have physical therapy at 4:30, and then it’s an early night for the Schemmentis. I am wiped.”
The next morning, you and your wife are sitting and standing outside your classrooms getting ready to greet your students when two of the older kids come up to you. They hand you apology notes and hazard a glance at Melissa- they look terrified of her. She just folds her arms over her chest and smirks.
“Mel,” you sigh once they walk away. “I appreciate you defending my honor, but do not make two middle school boys look about ready to sh… their pants on the second day of school.”
“Nobody makes fun of my wife,” she shrugs. “Especially when it’s about something she’s already insecure about.”
“Is that why you were with Ava? You were looking at the security footage?”
Again, she shrugs. “Let’s just say, we’re having a school wide assembly next week about how we shouldn’t make fun of people who have mobility issues or any other sort of disabilities.”

“Can I have a ride to school?” Dustin asked as you slid into the seat next to him running a bit behind this morning. You’d taken a little extra time to make sure you looked a little bit nicer than normal. Steve was around. He was always around. And you’d be lying if you didn’t say you had a little crush on him. You and every girl in Hawkins that was.
You quirked your eyes up to him while pouring the remaining orange juice into your glass, “No Harrington this morning?” Asking inquisitively. Steve had been picking Dustin up early the last few days throwing you out of your normal rhythm with the middle schooler.
He shook his head quickly, “No, we finished that project.” He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Rolling your eyes, you put the bacon and eggs your mom had made up onto your plate in a hurry, “Yeah, sure. Not like I have to go anywhere else.” You snickered knowing Dustin had to walk down the hill to the middle school, you couldn’t be bothered to drop him off then park.
Your mom sighed gathering the attention of both you and your brother, “I’m glad you’re driving him again, Y/N.” She smiled at you giving your hand a pat.
You frowned almost immediately at that comment, “Why? Steve’s perfectly fine at driving him.”
She gave you a tight-lipped smile knowing how you were. You weren’t going to back down from a fight, you never did, “Well, you know what they say.” She chuckled looking at Dustin who simply gave her the same look of confusion.
Shaking your head quickly you deadpanned at her, “I actually don’t mom. Enlighten me, will you?” You snapped back feeling all the irritation bubbling to the surface. Of course, you knew what they said about Steve. He was dumb. He was irresponsible. He would never get out of Hawkins. Blah blah blah. You might’ve believed that in the past but no longer was that the case. After you saw how he treated your younger brother you saw him in an entirely new light. Steve was kind. Steve was sweet. Steve was beyond thoughtful. You were crushing hard on the boy. And you’d done a pretty damn good job at hiding it. Right up until now. You were definitely giving it away now. Dustin’s eyes burning into the side of your head told you so.
She gave another quick, nervous laugh before clearing Dustin’s plate, “He’s just trouble sweetheart.”
“Typical.” You grumbled feeling annoyed as hell by your mother’s dismissal of the sweet man you’d observed over the last few months.
Dustin looked over at you giving you a curious look. You were usually mouthy with your parents but never pushed it too far. This was pushing it beyond what he was used to. And for Steve? He thought that was odd. Especially for you. He’d learned almost everything from you. You were analytical. Smart. Only spoke up when you knew you were right. Why were you defending Steve Harrington so boldly?
“What’s that honey?” She asked turning back to the two of you.
“You of all people shouldn’t believe the gossip. Thought you told us not to judge a book by its cover mother?” Refusing to look at either of them you decided on staring at the plate in front of you.
Her nervous smile gave it all away, “Sure. Now, off you go. Don’t want to be late to school now do we kids?”
You frowned annoyed as hell by the utter dismissal of the conversation. Oh, so typical. Rolling your eyes, you stood not even attempting to clear your plate, “Come on Dusty. We’ve got some learning to do.” You didn’t wait before grabbing your backpack and keys and walking out the front door without so much as a goodbye. Dustin followed quickly yelling a goodbye leaving a very quiet house for a very mouthy woman to deal with.
When Dustin jumped into the passenger seat of your old sedan you looked over at him. He was giving you the weirdest look. Studying you, “What?” You asked deciding to do your seatbelt instead of looking at him. You couldn’t look at him. No, that’d actually give you away.
“What was that about?” He asked not deciding to hold it back.
“What was what about?” You played dumb. It was so much easier. So, so much easier than explaining a stupid little crush that’d go absolutely nowhere.
He shook his head leaning back into the seat, “Steve? You’ve never mentioned his name before. Now you’re yelling at mom over breakfast about him? Thanks for that by the way.” He smiled knowing you’d always have his back.
You shrugged while backing out of the driveway, “I don’t know… You like him. He fills a gap I can’t fill. So why shouldn’t I defend him?” Trying to play it off you were thankful you had a reason to keep your eyes forward and on the road.
He nodded his head not fully believing you as his eyes narrowed in on you, observing you, “Sure, Y/N. That’s all.”
You nod quickly not daring to look over at your overly observant brother. Weren’t boys supposed to be clueless? Why was every single one of them clueless except Dustin? Of course, your brother wasn’t defective like a majority of the male population, “Yup. That’s all Dustin.”
The rest of the ride was nearly silent as Dustin sat there staring at you. He wasn’t going to give it up and neither were you. So, silence it was. When you parked the car in the lot you turned to him, “Not a word is mentioned of this morning to him. Do you need a ride home?”
Dustin smirked. The little fucker smirked. He unbuckled his seat belt and gave you the biggest grin, “Can’t guarantee that and nope. Steve is driving me home. We’re doing some investigating after school.”
You shook your head, “For once. Keep your big mouth shut. What are you even investigating? It’s Hawkins.” Giving him a curious glance, you stepped out of the worn-down vehicle trying not to be too late to class.
He jumped out of the car mimicking your actions, “Again, can’t guarantee that dear sister. And exactly. It’s Hawkins, there’s lots to investigate.” He grabbed his backpack before turning off to head down towards the middle school, “I’ll be back late, let mom know.” He waved knowing it was best to not give you the last word. Whatever. You’d cover for him like you always did. Steve was good for him. Just like Mike, Lucas and Will. It was never lost on you how you were always a touch jealous of your younger brothers ability to make true friendships. You’d only had one true friend. Thankfully, she was in most of your classes. You’d have gone insane have to deal with this whole high school thing alone.
As Steve got to know Dustin more you got to know him a little better too. It got under your skin how everybody so casually called him dumb or stupid. He was neither. He just played a part. A part you were easily able to see behind. He was his true authentic self around your brother, at your house. You’d caught him talking nerdy with your brother and asking questions somebody dumb would never. Steve was a master at his craft. An illusionist who needed to be the center of attention. For the life of you, you couldn’t figure that part of him out. For that you’d have to have a real-life conversation. One you often shied away from. Little did you know Steve was determined to get that conversation out of you, Dustin’s far too shy older sister. The girl he’d been crushing on since his split with Nancy.
He knew he was a goner the first time he really saw the real you. You were arguing with your mom, something he’d learned was commonplace in your household. He was amazed by your ability to express your words. You so flawlessly got your point across in a way he’d never seen. You were in his classes, but he’d never really seen you before. You were beautiful. Especially once your younger brother talked you up without even realizing it. He’d started to fall for you without even having a proper conversation. He wasn’t going to give up though. He wasn’t planning on going to Dustin, but he was starting to run through all his options. Every time he tried to dive in a little bit deeper you gave him that deer in headlights look. A look of knowing he was pushing the boundaries a little too hard. He’d back off. But then he got absolutely nowhere with you. Until you started coming to him for little things. You’d ask him a math question, one you’d obviously know the answer too, but one you knew he knew the answer to as well. Something to boost his confidence. For even you knew he heard the snide remarks about his intelligence. He was human too.
In English you’d ask him a silly grammar rule. In Phys Ed you asked him how to correctly shoot the basketball even though you’d been taught a thousand times over by Dustin and his know-it-all friends. In Spanish you’d ask him a simple question, beaming with pride when he answered back correctly. Little by little you tried to help him in the smallest of ways.
He was doomed, doomed from your sweetness. You’d taken his heart without the simplest of clues to doing so. He was trying to give you all the signs, the signs that showed he was incredibly interested in everything you had to offer. But you were clueless. Absolutely clueless to it all. For as smart as you are you were oblivious to him right in front of you. If he couldn’t figure it out soon he’d have to go to Dustin to get to you. He’d gotten the sense that only Dustin could talk some reason into you.
You’d been a pro at avoiding Steve at school that day. He hadn’t a clue as to why you were being so elusive. You were far too aware of your feelings to even try and approach a semi-normal conversation with the man. Avoiding him was your best option.
“You’re acting weird Y/N.” Kelly, your best friend, said as she spotted your eyes darting the cafeteria at lunch, “Been acting weird all day.”
“No, I haven’t Kel.” Speaking back in an instant you turned your full attention back to her.
A smirk that was eerily similar to Dustin’s danced on her lips as she watched you. Everybody seemed keen on your actions today, “In fact, you’ve been acting a little off ever since a certain Harrington has become friends with your very own brother. Peculiar.”
You rolled your eyes rather dramatically at your friend, “Look at you, jumping to conclusions.”
“You’ve been avoiding him all day Y/N.” She said matter of factly.
Shaking your head, “No…”
“You literally made Mandy trade seats with you in Chemistry today. I don’t want to hear it.” She cut you off.
“You’re annoying.” You sighed.
“And you’re being avoidant. The usual hey?” She grinned knowing she had you there. This was totally your style.
“Whatever Kelly.” Looking away your eyes went wide seeing Steve and his very own best friend, Robin, walking your way, “Gotta go talk to Mrs. Pace about my grade. I’ll see you later?” You stood quickly and ran off before she could even reply. When you turned back you saw the three of them conversing, talking about who knows what. You. They were talking about you.
Tumblr media
When you heard the front door open and close you’d assumed Dustin was alone. Your parents were out for a dinner date with another couple they’d been friends for years with. Being miserably bored you were thrilled when you’d heard him come home. Having somebody to annoy made you far too giddy.
“There you are!” Yelling from the top of the stairs you skidded to a complete stop seeing not only your brother but his much taller and much more handsome friend standing in the kitchen with him.
All too pleased with himself he gave you a head nod, “Y/N. Steve’s going to stay for dinner.” He didn’t ask, he stated.
“Sure, I’ll just be up in my room…”
He cut you off grabbing at your arm, “No, I know you haven’t eaten. Sit.” He sounded weirdly like your father.
“I already…” You tried but again he cut you off.
“No, you haven’t. The plate is untouched. Your water is still at the table. Sit.” He pointed to your usual chair. He had you there. He was too damn observant. Only Dustin.
You glared at him but sat down next to Steve who looked all too happy to be sitting there with the two of you. Not even you could lie, he was damn adorable sitting there kicking his feet watching the two siblings bicker back and forth.
Dustin set down two plates in front of you and Steve, “I just remembered. I was supposed to call Mike at 7! We’re supposed to be doing Mr. Ryan’s homework.” He rambled before running off upstairs.
“Dustin?” You called feeling a growing irritation for your meddling younger brother. The little shit just left you to fend for yourself with Steve fucking Harrington? What the fuck?
“Kids a trip.” Steve smiled over at you hoping it’d calm your nerves a bit. He knew you were nervous for some reason. He was anything but intimidating, or so he thought.
Your face broke into a grin knowing his motives. He was a trip, that one was for sure, “You could say that again.” Defeated, you grabbed at your fork knowing you couldn’t really just leave him sitting in your kitchen. Dustin would quite literally kick your ass if you did that.
He nodded his head in agreement, “Your brother is pretty great too. Never thought I’d enjoy spending so much time with a literal kid.” He snickered knowing the optics of the situation were less than stellar.
Finally, you looked at him. And Jesus, was he stunning. It wasn’t fair. He was so damn attractive and then he was so damn kind? Dustin was setting you up, “He get it from somewhere.” You agreed with him while nodding your head.
Steve’s smile grew even wider as he let out a hearty laugh, “He told me you were funny.”
Eyebrows raised you replied, “He did?”
“Yup.” He scooted a tad closer to you. All too thrilled you were finally entertaining a conversation with him, “He says a lot of good things about you.”
Without even realizing it you bit your lip slightly. A little habit Steve had noticed in school as he watched you a bit closer this year. It happened when you were thinking. When your mind was reeling, “Dusty’s the sweetest younger brother. I’m lucky.”
“Well, he’s got a pretty great older sister he watches all the time.” Steve said so casually you weren’t positive if you were hearing
Your eyes snapped back over to his suddenly very aware of why you avoided these conversations. Your cheeks were absolutely ablaze feeling like you could cook an egg off your face it was so hot, “
He smirked, “What? No comeback? He says your infamous for those. And I’d tend to agree. You schooled Mr. Clark the other day.”
Biting back a smile you rolled your eyes, “Dustin has a lot of opinions about me, hmm?”
He leaned forward feeling brazen, “You’re right. Enough about him. More about you.” His chair scooted just a bit closer. He was bold, you gave him that.
“Me?” Your face had to be as red as a tomato now.
“You heard me.”
Trying to be just a bit brave you continued, “Well, what about me?”
His chair inched ever so much closer. Your heart was racing at an uncomfortable pace as he opened his mouth, “Tell me something about you sweetheart.”
Sweetheart? Sweetheart. Damn, that made your already racing heart explode, “What do you wanna know?” It was a whisper. God, you were pathetic. He made you pathetic. A pathetic bumbling mess, “I hate chicken nuggets. I think they’re disgusting.” You said the first thing that came to your thoughtless mind.
He didn’t give you any time to be embarrassed though. He let out a snort before full on laughing, “Chicken nuggets? Really?”
You nodded quickly defending yourself, “I just… I just don’t think chicken should come that way. Not natural.”
He snickered shaking his head but moving his chair even closer. He was almost on top of you now. Surly, he could hear your racing heart, “You’re a trip too, Henderson.”
“Hopefully you mean that in a good way.”
His smile should’ve given you the hint. But you were clueless. Absolutely clueless, “In the best way.”
The two of you were so into the moment you didn’t hear the younger version of you walk down the stairs. To be fair, it had been twenty minutes. He’d just been sitting in his room bored to death and couldn’t take it anymore. So, he walked down the steps. When he walked into the kitchen he’d expected to find the two of you bickering. Just like he and Steve did. But he found the opposite. The two of you… enamored with each other?
He couldn’t hide the small smile creeping up on his lips. He’d all but gotten a confession out of Steve that he liked you. And he wasn’t dumb, you liked him. So, this was meant to happen, right? Plus, if the two of you were together then Steve would be over all the time. A win, win.
But he was bored, your love could blossom another time, “What’d I miss?” He spoke up. You nearly jumped from your seat. Steve scooted away in a hurry.
“Dustin!” You whisper shouted, startled by his sudden presence.
“Son of a…” Steve muttered while glaring at the younger boy.
Dustin gave him a devious smirk, “What was that Steve?”
Tumblr media
“He likes you; you know.” Robin set her bag down next to yours on the ground. She plopped down in the seat next to you in the wide-open library.
You looked up from the homework you were working on, “Hmm?”
“Steve. He likes you. Hard.”
Shaking your head, you decided on giving her your full attention, “No, no he doesn’t. I think I’d notice if he liked me.”
She snorted lightly, “You’re adorable. Adorably clueless. He likes you Henderson.”
“Then he’ll tell me himself.” You said so assuredly you weren’t expecting her reply.
“You’re right. He will.” And before you could reply Robin was off as soon as she had sat down.
Before you could focus back on your homework and ignore the weird interaction with the girl you’d come to adore from afar somebody else was in the seat she had just occupied.
When you looked up and spotted him your weak little heart started racing once more, “Steve, what’re you doing here?”
“Here to tell you something.” He smiled leaning back in the chair.
Robin? Robin was written all over this. He couldn’t actually like you. It was more of a thing to say to get her to shut the hell up. But now… now Steve might actually admit something.
“What’s that?”
He kept quiet until you looked up at him. He smiled gently at you. Trying his darndest not to freak you out, “That I like you.”
“You like me?” You asked back so quickly he was sure you hadn’t really processed it.
“Yes,” He nodded quickly, “I like you. A lot.”
“Me?”
He grabbed at your hand, “You.”
“You’re sure?” You couldn’t believe him. No. Not until he confirmed it at least twenty times.
“Positive.” He gave your hand a squeeze trying his best to keep you grounded in reality. Not stuck in that pretty little head of yours.
“Oh.” You’d finally processed his words. He liked you. Damn, he liked you?
“Hopefully that’s a good, oh.” He mirrored your words from earlier on in the week.
A small smile came to your lips, “Yeah, it is… but…” You paused not sure how to ask the question that was itching at the back of your head.
“But?”
“But you’ve never seemed interested.”
He let out a quiet laugh, “Robin was right, you are adorably clueless.”
You gave him a fake pout, “Hey now.”
He shook his head, “I didn’t say it wasn’t cute. It’s adorable. You’re adorable sweetheart.” He grabbed at your other hand, holding both of your much smaller hands in his.
“Hey Steve?” You said after a moment of silence.
“Yeah?”
“I like you too. I like you a lot.” You bobbed your head up and down.
“Tell me then, what do you say? We’ve got a problem and I’ve got a solution. I’m taking you out Friday evening. On a proper date.” Steve proposed looking all too hopefully at you.
You grinned, “I think that sounds like a great plan.”
He let out a small sigh of relief, “Finally, it’s a date my dear.”

the scenic route
i saw this post by @henderdads yesterday and started CACKLING at the image of eddie trying to hide from steve only to stumble across the rest of his stalkers fan club, so here it is
Ao3 link
--
Eddie was pretty sure he was supposed to be better than this.
He'd had more than his fair share of ill advised crushes over the years. His middle school science teacher, the entirely too-nice-for-the-popular-crowd head cheerleader, the bartender at the Hideout that he sold coke to on more than one occasion. And yet, here he was. Leering after Steve Harrington.
(Crush was maybe too strong of a word - that would imply he felt any positive emotions towards the man other than carnal lust.)
Every day at work, Eddie told himself he would take the shortest path outside for his smoke break, and every day he ended up taking the scenic route.
It was like he couldn't help himself. He'd shove his hands into his pockets, and meander his way passed the food court, trying his hardest to seem natural as his eyes strayed over to the Scoops Ahoy.
And there he was, Harrington in all his post-popularity glory. Eddie wasn't sure whose bright idea it was to put the Scoops employees in sailor suits, but he wanted to shake their hand. Or slash their tires.
The shorts clung to Harrington's thighs, somehow even thicker than they were when he was still playing sports regularly. The little hat was less flattering, causing his signature hair to fall limp beneath it, but that was fine. Eddie had seen his hair in all its glory more than enough to fill in the blanks.
As he got closer, he could see that Harrington was chatting up a female patron - typical of the high school heartthrob. It sent a pulse of jealousy and disgust through him. Harrington looked up at the girl from under his eyelashes, pulling his pink, glossy lips into a smirk.
The things Eddie would do to that mouth with half a chance.
The girl let out a laugh, turning in a whirl of curls as she giggled with her friends. He would've thought that response was a positive one if Harrington hadn't immediately let his head fall forward with a groan. Robin Buckley, the mousy band geek Gareth was infatuated with last year, popped up from the back room with a white board that seemed to be a record of all of his strikeouts.
Harsh.
Seemed even pretty privileged popular kids had trouble wooing fair maidens sometimes. Who would've thought. A feeling of satisfaction curled in his stomach - both at watching Harrington get put in his place and knowing that he was still painfully single.
He didn't let himself examine why that was.
While watching the interaction, Eddie hadn't realized he had been slowing to a stop. Until Buckley looked his way. Panic surged through him and he dove to the left, towards a gathering of potted ferns that should be leafy enough to hide him and his hair.
There was a snag in that plan - someone was already hiding there.
Eddie stumbled, arms pinwheeling as he tried to stop himself from running over three middle schoolers. Several little hands snagged the front of his shirt, keeping him from pitching backwards and falling on his ass.
"Jesus fuckin' Christ-" he cursed as he wobbled to a stop. He clamped his mouth shut, taking in the three children in front of him.
The two nearest to him were barely holding back giggles, one a boy with an unfortunate bowl cut and the other a redheaded girl who looked like she was trying to judge him but couldn't smother her mirth. Another boy with dark skin and a bandana tied around his head was looking embarrassed, crouching as close as possible to the girl as he could.
"What the hell are you guys doing?" Eddie asked, unable to help himself.
"Same thing you are," Red replied with a smirk playing at her lips. He blanched.
"What."
"Eye candy," she said. It was clear what - or rather who she was referring to.
Bandana groaned softly, the embarrassment on his face deepening. Bowl Cut started giggling again. A fern was tickling Eddie's ear, and he desperately wanted to melt into the floor like the ice cream on a Scoops Ahoy cone.
Eddie didn't even bother to deny it. "You're like, 10. Aren't you a bit young for crushes?"
Red gave him an unimpressed stare.
"We're about to start high school, man," Bandana said as he wrinkled his nose. Judgment colored his tone.
"You don't look like the type to normally go for preps. So do you really have a leg to stand on?" she added.
Sheesh, the attitude on these kids.
Eddie refused to give her any ground.
"Also, I don't have a crush - I was dragged here against my will," Bandana continued.
"I can't believe my boyfriend is lying to my face like this."
"Steve's basically our babysitter, that's weird."
"I don't know," Bowl Cut piped up for the first time, "I think crushing on your babysitter is pretty normal."
Eddie's head was spinning as he tried to keep up with the back and forth. Steve Harrington was their babysitter? He pinched the inside of his wrist, convinced this whole situation was a bad trip or a surreal weed dream. It made more sense than a couple of toddlers claiming that Harrington babysat them regularly.
"I don't have a crush on him!"
"Then why do you keep asking him to 'shoot hoops' with you?" Red asked, turning her judgmental haze onto her sweating boyfriend.
"You know I'm thinking about trying out for basketball next year," Bandana said with an almost pretentious air. "I need all the practice I can get!"
"I didn't know getting smacked in the face with the ball when Steve takes off his shirt counted as practice," Bowl Cut said, a deceptively sweet smile on his face as he drove a dagger into his friend's back.
"DUDE!"
Bowl Cut and Red shushed him, tiny hands flying to cover Bandana's mouth. Eddie reflexively peeked through the fronds, checking to make sure the object of their well - their object hadn't noticed them.
(He hesitated to call him the object of their lust because the three in front of him were literally babies, but he refused to use the word affection in the same sentence as Harrington. Even if this entire conversation was throwing his carefully crafted view of the man through a loop.)
It was fine, though. Harrington and Buckley were wrapped up in their own world, chatting back and forth. If he had a heart he might even say they looked good together. Eddie's eyes strayed towards Harrington's fingers as he twirled his scooper in his hand.
He wanted to shove them in his mouth-
Not the time.
By the time he tuned back into the infants' conversation, Bandana was sulking. Clearly, he had lost, especially with how smug both Red and Bowl Cut looked. Red had even pulled out a little snack packet that she was triumphantly munching on.
"You brought snacks?" Eddie sputtered out, not sure if he was impressed or put out by the sheer balls on this little girl.
"Uh, yeah? Food court food is expensive," she said like it was a no brainer.
The balls, man.
He kinda wanted to be her when he grew up.
"Let me get this straight, you brought snacks along while you stalk your babysitter?" he asked anyway.
"I get hungry," Red said. After a moment, she rolled her eyes and pulled out another snack pack, throwing it at him. It smacked him in the face, but he managed to catch it before it hit the ground. "You're welcome."
"Thanks?" he replied automatically.
This may as well happen.
She distributed two more snack packs to her friend and her boyfriend, and the three returned to peering at Harrington through the ferns. Eddie just stared at them, once again feeling like he must have fallen into a different universe.
This whole thing was getting to be too much for him. His knees and thighs were starting to ache, and not for any particularly pleasant reason. He didn't want to know how long he had been crouched back here.
He needed to get out of here before he reached his limit. His boss may give him a lot of leeway, but he didn't want to keep pushing his luck hanging out in the food court for the rest of the day, babysitting Steve fucking Harrington's children.
Even if the view was pretty good.
"Well, this has been fun, but I need a smoke," he said finally. The three barely spared him a glance. Figuring that they were done with him, and because he didn't know how to leave well enough alone. "I'll leave you to your... stalking."
"Same time tomorrow?" Bowl Cut asked, turning that shy but cheeky grin onto him, revealing that not only had they done this before, but that they had seen Eddie here before.
Fuck. His face was turning red.
"Don't plan on it," he scoffed. The trio spared him disbelieving glances, but let him rock to his feet and start walking away without another word.
They all knew he'd be taking the scenic route again tomorrow.

truck
pairing: vada cavell x reader
summary: in which vada shows you her newest purchase
warnings: none
word count: 700+
author's note: a silly, tiny little thing while i work on getting rid of my writer's block
Tumblr media
Vads <3 (4:37pm): come outside!!!
Vads <3 (4:37pm): got a surprise!!!!!
You furrowed your eyebrows as the texts from your girlfriend popped up on your phone. She had made no prior mention of hanging out; in fact, she had told you that she would be busy for most of the day. Still, it was an easy decision as you pushed yourself out of your bed and bounded down the staircase, excited to see the girl.
When you pulled the front door open and stepped out onto the porch, you felt your eyes go comically wide at the sight in your driveway. There stood Vada, a proud grin on her face, standing beside--
“I got a truck!” she exclaimed, throwing her arms up in glee. She rushed forward, jumped up the porch steps, and wrapped you in a bear-hug. You could practically feel the happiness radiating from her, and you just barely managed to press a kiss to the top of her head before she pulled away, bouncing on the balls of her feet. “Come see!”
She grabbed your wrist and dragged you toward the truck, skipping the whole way over. You simply let her, too shocked to do anything other than stare at the behemoth vehicle in front of you, the one that towered over your tiny girlfriend.
“Isn’t she a beauty?” Vada asked as the two of you stood in front of the truck. She sighed dreamily, like a middle-schooler talking about their crush, and when you glanced at her, you swore she was drooling. “She looks so pretty in the sun.”
You nodded. “It’s nice, baby.” You tilted your head, biting the inside of your cheek. “But…why did you get a truck?”
“Because trucks are cool!” In her excitement, she started shaking your arm around like it was made of jell-o. “I’m gonna look so cool driving this thing! Watch; look how cool I look in the driver’s seat!”
She sprinted to the door, and you struggled to hold back a giggle as you watched her climb inside, standing on her tip-toes to make it onto the seat. When she slammed the door shut, you couldn’t help the laugh that escaped.
Through the windshield, you could see only her forehead, her eyebrows raising just enough to be visible. Her arms started to move, which was a tell-tale sign that she was rambling, yet you couldn’t make out anything she was saying, because you literally could not see her mouth.
After a few moments, the door swung open again and Vada hopped out, stumbling slightly before hurrying right back to your side.
“Did I look cool?” she asked excitedly. “Did I? Did I? I did, didn’t I?”
“I--” You giggled. “Vada, can you even see out of that thing?”
She frowned, huffing as she crossed her arms. “Of course I can. What, did I not look cool?”
You tilted your head before leaning down and kissing the frown off her lips. “No, you looked very cool,” you lied. She immediately started beaming again, her dimples showing. “I have the coolest girlfriend in the world.”
She blushed, the pink tinting her cheeks and making her freckles stand out, before her eyes widened and she gasped. “Let me take you for a drive! Please? Pretty please?”
You hesitated. On one hand, you wanted nothing more than to make Vada happy. On the other, you were slightly scared for your life, considering how little she was truly able to see behind the wheel. However, when her bottom lip jutted out and she started giving you puppy-dog-eyes, you sighed and nodded your head.
“Yay!” she squealed, racing to open the passenger door for you. “After you, pretty lady.”
You climbed into the truck and Vada shut the door. You watched as she rounded the hood of the car before appearing at the driver’s side, where she clambered in once more and grinned at you.
“You’re gonna love this,” she promised. She settled herself into her seat, turned the car on, shifted the gear into reverse, and then stretched herself to see out the back windshield.
It was only three, maybe four, seconds before you were jolted forward and you heard a loud thud come from the back of the truck. You whipped your head toward Vada, who glanced back at you sheepishly.
“...I think you’re gonna need a new mailbox…”

ANAGAPESIS — nakamura kazuha x f!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you never would have thought of losing feelings for someone you love. but when the transfer student causes a rift, you start to entertain the possibility.
TAGS — angst, slight yunjinxreader, best friends, unrequited pining(?), jealousy

Tumblr media
anagapesis, your literature teacher had said once. it meant to no longer feel affection for someone you loved. the japanese was unable to pronounce it and you had simply corrected her. it took about 10 minutes until she could say it. within those 10 minutes, you two became best friends. or, as best friends middle schoolers could be— exchanging snacks during break time, taking turns to push each other at the swings and standing up for each other when sunwoo from the class next door bullied you two.
anagapesis.
was it fate when you met kazuha? maybe it was. every single decision that a 10 year old y/n made led up to your meeting with her. kazuha was your best friend. forever and ever, you had stated to her one day.
“pinky promise?”
“of course!”
you reach no further than the first year of high school when you realise your true feelings. (and coming to terms with the fact that, yes, you were madly in love with your best friend.)
“first period’s chemistry,” kazuha sighs, “new class but i think yujin’s still there. can’t forget the last time she spilled iodine on my uniform, i hope mr lee doesn't put us together.”
you hum in acknowledgment.
“i hope you’re my partner.” you turn to kazuha, a mocking smirk on your face, “i’m like, last in class for chemistry. pretty sure i would spill acid and not iodine on you.”
kazuha rolls her eyes playfully. “you’re like second last, not last.”
you hesitate for a second before asking, “second last in chemistry but first place in your heart?” the japanese girl giggles.
fuck, you think.
“yeah. first place in my heart,” she says and you can’t help but think of the glimmer in her eyes and her gummy smile. and in your heart, you pray that mr lee doesn’t put the two of you as partners. you’re not sure how long more you could survive if kazuha looks as pretty as aphrodite every day.
liar, your head says, you would jump for joy if you could spend every second with her.
you ignore that thought and the bell rings with kazuha’s resounding groan.
Tumblr media
your eyes dart to the teacher who was currently peering over his laptop screen.
“everyone ready? i’ve sent the spreadsheet of partners for this semester. please check it and get into your pairs,” he instructs. you take in a sharp breathe as you read over the list of students’ names.
you’re paired up with huh yunjin, a rather enthusiastic girl from the states. it was a relief that you weren’t partnered up with a weirdo. yunjin was nice and helpful. thank god. you take a glance at kazuha, whose eyebrows are furrowed and you wonder if she’s paired up with ahn yujin again.
“rei? naoi rei?” you stare at kazuha curiously. she repeats the girl’s name like a mantra and you wonder, is your best friend okay?
“y/n, is naoi rei from japan? is she a transfer student? do you know if she’s from tokushima? does she have bangs with black hair?” kazuha suddenly asks and it’s the most korean you’ve heard her speak.
“uhm,” you mumble, “i’m not… sure?”
your best friend is wide eyed, a look of surprise and awe on her face as students flurry by to find their partner. it’s easy to spot yunjin. her height makes her stand out but kazuha has a harder time finding her partner. rei. her name sounds awfully familiar, maybe kazuha has spoken about a friend called rei before.
“zuha-chan, is that you?” a voice speaks out in japanese. you whip your head and the cutest girl you’ve ever seen is standing right before kazuha.
“are you… do you remember me?” rei blurts out, “you were from the same school as me right? back in japan?” now, you and yunjin were standing awkwardly by the side as the two japanese conversed in their mother tongue. a gasp of exhilaration is heard and you feel a pang of envy when kazuha squeals and runs into rei’s arms.
yunjin nudges you slightly.
“you okay?”
you nod wordlessly and you two walk away from the childhood friends. despite being a few tables away from kazuha and rei, you can still hear their conversation clear as day. you try not to listen in, but is it really eavesdropping if they’re not being quiet?
“i never thought i would meet you again! i’ve missed you so much!” kazuha exclaims.
“me neither… wow,” you can hear the affection in rei’s tone and it makes you want to throw up, “you’re still super pretty and cute.”
you pray she means it in a, ‘gals being pals’ way.
“how long has it been? a decade? how’s your parents doing?”
“they miss you, said they preferred you over me,” rei laughs and you hate how kazuha chuckles back.
at this point, yunjin has given up trying to get your attention and she’s more focused on how your expression sours everytime kazuha giggles at one of rei’s jokes.
“hey,” she snaps her fingers in front of your face which finally works, “are you jealous? in the gay way? or the best friend way?”
you roll your eyes at her and clench your fists tightly.
“both.” while you weren’t the closest to yunjin, you were pretty comfortable telling her your worries and troubles. after all, you bonded before in detention by annoying the fuck out of the teacher in charge.
“yeah, childhood friends meeting again years later. that’s a fanfiction trope right there and you can’t do anything about that.” you stare at her, confused.
yunjin grins, “maybe it’s fate.”
fate. maybe it’s fate. you swallow a lump in your throat. maybe it’s fate that brought kazuha and rei together. maybe it’s like yunjin said, i can't do anything about it.
and if this were a movie, you would be the second lead standing in between the main couple, portrayed as the jealous and insecure best friend who has loved the main lead secretly all these years, only for them to be swept away by a childhood friend.
and fuck. the realisation hits you like a truck.
“i don’t mean to make you upset,” yunjin says, twirling a pen while staring right at kazuha and rei, “but i think rei might just replace you soon if that is any indication.”
kazuha’s warm hand is intertwined with rei’s and you hate it. you hate everything about it. the fact that you envy rei’s position right now. the fact that you know kazuha isn’t one to cosy up to someone so easily. the very fact that it took you more than a year for kazuha to finally be comfortable with hugs.
and rei did it all in an hour. yunjin sends a comforting smile your way. your heart breaks, at the sight of rei and kazuha together and how yunjin’s gaze is full of pity and sympathy.
Tumblr media
out of the corner of your eye, you see kazuha’s grin, wider than it ever was when she was with you. you grip the edge of your seat in distraught as rei yells out a string of encouragement. kazuha stops on court and sends her a thumbs up.
everytime you did that, she would just smile nervously without looking at you.
it hurts so much you turn away from the court entirely.
“hey!” you look up from your feet. yunjin’s leaning against the railing separating the seats and the basketball court. “are you here for me?” she jokes and it’s so obvious that she had seen what had happened.
“no,” you giggle, appreciating her distraction, “i’m here for the enemy.” yunjin pouts.
“aw, then who would be my biggest supporter?”
you nod towards the fan club watching both of you intently. a bunch of girls holding up a large sign reading, ‘fighting huh yunjin!’
before yunjin speaks again, a figure slides up to the railing beside her.
“hi, y/n.” your eyes darts to yunjin for help. the american stifles her laughter at your distress.
“uhm,” you mutter unintelligently, not expecting to get kazuha’s attention.
“y/n’s here as my supporter! shoo, don’t take her away,” yunjin swats at kazuha like she’s a fly.
the japanese girl mumbles something but you can barely hear her. suddenly, yunjin’s demeanour changes.
“what? we were always friends,” yunjin replies back defensively.
kazuha frowns. “since when?”
yunjin looks like she’s about to snap at kazuha and you plead with your eyes for her to remain civil. the whistle blows and the basketball game has to start. you can see the angry red blush spreading over kazuha’s neck while yunjin stomps grumpily to her spot. the sight would be funny if you weren’t caught in the middle of their argument.
when kazuha goes to rei after the match, you feel your heart splitting into two. she chose rei, over you.
Tumblr media
your best friend, the same one that had promised to protect you from harm, had broken your heart a total of two times. and all in one year, surely record-breaking for the sweetest girl you’ve ever befriended. little did you know she was about to hit a new high.
“you could just confess after prom. or before, so that if she reciprocates you guys can go together,” yunjin explains, her mouth full of a bite of ice cream.
kazuha had decidedly stopped going home with you after school and yunjin took up the role of your closest friend.
“maybe,” you would never confess in this lifetime, but you say it just to placate yunjin, “I’m never gonna do it face to face though. only if she corners me about it.”
“coward,” yunjin laughs.
you shrug. “most i’ll do is write a letter then move to america where she can’t find me.”
yunjin halts in her steps and turns to look at you.
“america? you wanna go to america?”
“yeah? why not. i mean, i’m fluent in english and it would be fun, wouldn’t it? i could apply for a scholarship,” you smile. yunjin’s gaze is full of contemplation and curiosity.
she continues licking her ice cream.
“y/n, i’m being completely serious now, if i were to, hypothetically, invite you to move into my family’s apartment in new york, would you be keen?” you’ve never seen yunjin so serious before that it unnerves you ever so slightly.
“well,” you say, a light tone accompanied with your words, “if, hypothetically, all my expenses would be covered by the huh yunjin, i would be keen.”
“i’m serious, y/n!”
you giggle. “yes, yunjin. let’s go to america together after graduation.”
yunjin’s face brightens up and it’s like her whole world is complete. you can’t stop the laughter that bubbles out when she lifts your body up and spins you around like a doll.
your hold on her is tight and comforting, but you can’t help but feel the kazuha sized hole in your heart ache.
leaving korea would mean leaving kazuha. and were you okay with that? your head is swarmed with thoughts on the trek back home.
Tumblr media
“so,” kazuha says cautiously, “what are you planning to do after high school?” it’s been a few days since your conversation with yunjin and after many, many sleepless nights full of research and convincing your parents, you were finally granted permission to go out of the country.
you’re not sure whether to lie or tell the truth. you decide to do the latter.
“i have a scholarship for america— new york university,” you reply casually, and it’s the one time you’re hoping kazuha doesn’t pay attention to you.
the japanese girl falls silent. and it’s deafening.
“oh,” she says after a while, “are you going with yunjin?”
your eyes widen. “how’d you know?”
kazuha grimaces. “it’s all she can talk about during practice.”
“oh, then why’d you ask me?” you question. there’s a flash of exasperation on kazuha’s face as she mutters harshly, “i wanted to hear it from you first.”
you tilt your head.
“aren’t you and rei going back to japan?” rei’s name leaves a bitter taste on your tongue.
“hm? yeah.”
you feel your stomach tighten and your chest squeezes uncomfortably.
“that’s great,” you grit your teeth, “have fun with her.” kazuha stares at you and you feel naked with her gaze. for a moment, it reminds you of way back before rei, before yunjin, and when it was just you and kazuha.
Tumblr media
the next time you see your best friend (or ex-best friend), it’s during another basketball match, but today, they were going against one of the rival schools. you head into the gymnasium, seats already filled up with supporters from both schools and the players getting ready on court. you sweep your eyes over the players, smiling when yunjin spots you.
‘come here,’ she mouths. you shake your head but yunjin pouts. her pleading eyes are too much for you to resist, so you walk to the railings, eyebrow raised.
“aren’t you meant to be warming up, jen?” you ask quietly. her teammates pause their activity when they see yunjin hanging around the railings. unbeknownst to you two, anger radiates from one of her teammates.
“yeah, but i wanted to give you something first.” yunjin grins and takes off the necklace hanging on her neck. she gestures for you to lean forward, and as you do, the necklace carrying a snake charm is attached on your neck now.
yunjin sighs contentedly, “it’s my most prized possession from my grandma. but i think, i want you to wear it.”
your eyes widen.
“yunjin, seriously?”
the basketballer only winks, “yeah, so now i have two good luck charms.”
just like before, your bubble bursts when someone approaches you.
“y/n.”
yunjin straightens up and you wave shyly at kazuha.
“hi, kazuha.”
the japanese’s eyes dart to the necklace not so discreetly and a disapproving frown takes over her face.
“can i talk to you alone?” she mutters to you. the american girl chuckles and pats kazuha on the back, “c’mon, talk to her later, kay. we have a game now.”
after a few seconds, kazuha glares at yunjin and then storms away. you sigh guiltily while yunjin just yawns.
they lose the game and you can tell kazuha is fuming when she finally gets the chance to talk to you.
her eyes are gleaming with rage and her knuckles are bruised. she definitely tried to hit her locker in the changing room, you thought.
“so, uhm, what’s up?” you say awkwardly.
kazuha stays silent for a while, which isn’t unusual, but in a setting like this, it makes you incredibly nervous.
“i’m pissed.”
“okay?”
“i don’t like yunjin,” she hisses, “stop being so close to her. she’s not good for you. and why do you keep flirting with her? are you dating her?”
you’re taken aback. your best friend, kazuha, was always calm, quiet and friendly. the kazuha standing in front of you, jealous and angry. you don’t like it.
“who i’m dating is none of your concern.”
“so you are dating her,” kazuha states. if she didn’t look like she was one second from punching someone, you would laugh, because it was so far away from the truth.
“no, i’m not. please stop assuming things.”
“how can i not assume things when you never tell me stuff anymore?” she hisses out.
you sigh, “zuha, i do try to tell you things. but you’re always busy.” with rei.
“so it’s my fault now?”
“i never said that. yunjin’s waiting for me, and you’re being childish right now. text me when you want to talk again.”
anagapesis. you go through it with every passing second kazuha isn’t by your side.
“fine. i’ll text you later. get home safe.”
and the realisation strikes here. the once fluttering words of care and concern no longer make you feel exhilaration. you aren’t losing kazuha. she’s losing you.
Tumblr media
prom approaches and you don’t make a move to ask out kazuha. you already assume she’s going with rei and you had decided to go with yunjin in light of this.
you go dress shopping and yunjin’s presence helps to fill the emptiness of kazuha. yunjin skims the shops and ends up with an emerald green dress that you definitely approve of, while you end up deciding between a matching blue one or a purple one.
midway through your dilemma, your phone beeps.
zuha 🤍 [1.27pm]:
get the blue one
you swerve around, eyes darting for kazuha but she’s nowhere to be seen.
“you’re getting which one?” yunjin asks from around the corner and your gaze falls back to the two dresses.
your heart clenches as you eye the blue flowy dress. blue, kazuha’s favourite colour. ironically, that was exactly how she made you feel. blue, the colour for sadness and everything dull. you furrow your eyebrows and turn to yunjin, a soft smile on your face.
“probably the purple one.”
you show up in the purple dress, face decorated in a light layer of makeup with yunjin attached to your arm. your heart is beating out of your chest and your cheek muscles start to hurt at how long you’ve been smiling at others. some of your friends come up to you, eyes glimmering with mischief and they bombard questions about yunjin’s presence as she goes to get drinks.
“no kazuha tonight?” wonyoung asks.
you search around before shrugging. “she’s going with rei, not even sure if they’re turning up.”
the chain around your heart tightens.
“that’s too bad then,” wonyoung smiles widely, “you look great tonight! let’s take some photos later, okay?”
you nod absentmindedly as wonyoung and your friends gravitate to another group.
yunjin returns soon to your side, eyes gleaming and a hand snaking around your waist.
“i got you a fruit punch, darling,” she passes you the drink, “they had this weird looking juice but i think you would get food poisoning.”
“yeah, thanks. i don’t trust this school.”
yunjin smirks but it quickly disappears when she hears her name being called again.
“ugh, i can’t get five minutes with you alone.”
you laugh and push her shoulder slightly. “go find your friends, celebrity. i’ll wait for you here.”
yunjin pouts slightly but walks away, leaving you to be alone. as the hall gets filled up, you wander towards an unoccupied corner where no one would disturb you.
and of course, someone finds you.
“y/n.”
“zuha.”
you rake your eyes across her appearance, it’s the same as usual, but the butterflies in your stomach are missing. even though she’s dressed handsomely, you feel nothing.
“what are you doing here? aren’t you meant to be with,” kazuha flicks her tongue, “yunjin?”
“hm? her friends were calling for her.”
“and she left you here, alone?”
“yeah? i was just about to go find wonyoung. needed a breather from the crowd,” you quickly make up an excuse before kazuha could start badmouthing yunjin again.
the Japanese’s reflexes are quicker than yours, so she catches your wrist in a grip when you try to walk away.
“let’s talk properly this time,” she states. you look at the hand on your wrist and nod. you had no way of getting out of it this time.
“you’ve been avoiding me.”
you look away from her. “no.”
“you have. so what’s the deal? are you jealous that i have another friend now? rei, is that the problem here?” kazuha spits out.
“what are you talking about?”
“y/n—”
“listen, kazuha. you’re the one telling me that my friend is bad for me. i have never said anything bad about rei. i don’t care about her, and if you want me to be honest, sure. i loved you. i loved you ever since we became friends and it was ruining me to see you be so affectionate with someone else. so i’m sorry if you don’t like yunjin, but she was there for me when you weren’t,” you finally say. it’s like a heavy weight was lifted off your chest and the shell shocked expression on kazuha’s face is enough closure for you.
“you love me?”
“i used to. and i’m grateful that i don’t anymore.”
kazuha’s eyes welled up with tears, “y/n, i didn’t… i didn’t know, i…”
“if you knew, what difference would it have made?”
you watch as the japanese girl clenches her fists tightly, eyes closed before opening them and staring at you with determination you didn’t even know she had.
“y/n, you no longer love me?” you nod, exasperated. “how could you fall out of love so easily? i love you too! and now you no longer love me?”
kazuha chuckles dryly.
“don’t you know how fucking painful it was to see you wearing that damn necklace every day? i was hurt too, why couldn’t you have just said something,” she takes a step closer to you, “y/n, i just wanted to reconnect with my old friend— i never wanted things to change between us! but yunjin came along and ruined it all.”
your eyes narrow. “don’t blame this on yunjin. if you wanted to reconnect with rei, you should have balanced your time between us.”
“i know that now! stop reminding me. just please, don’t go with her, stay with me. i would do anything for you. I’m in love with you, y/n!” kazuha pleads.
“stop it,” you say, “you hurt me. a lot.”
“but i still love you.”
the crowd behind kazuha goes silent, all the lights dim down and it’s like time is paused. the only thing you see is your best friend, eyes full of desperation and hope, a silhouette of your lost affection.
you can’t do this. how could kazuha say that when you’re finally done with her? it wasn’t like you were still in love with your best friend, so why did your stomach drop when you heard those words? was it guilt? sadness? or regret, that you could have had something with kazuha, if only one of you spoke up.
“it’ll be hard for me to love and trust you again, zuha. and maybe in another universe, things would be different. but I’m sorry, this isn’t the right time.”
kazuha’s face falls.
“you’re… really heading to america? with her?”
you wince at her venomous tone, “yes.”
her eyes are red and teary, her cheeks are flushed and wet with tears. yet, you still think she looks beautiful. maybe one day, you would truly be over her.
“i hope you have a safe trip.”
“thank you. i hope you stay happy, always.” kazuha gives you one final look, and then nods, before disappearing into the crowd in her pristine white dress. you couldn’t help but think that the blue dress matched hers perfectly.
when yunjin finds you again, she asks, “i saw you talking to kazuha. did anything happen?”
you shake your head, “no, nothing happened.”
she raises an eyebrow.
“seriously? she seemed like she was crying.”
you roll your eyes, “seriously. we talked about stuff and got emotional. she was too late with expressing her feelings.”
“huh. so she really did like you back.”
“yeah. but i think, in this universe, i’m gonna be okay without her.”
(in an alternate universe, none of this would have happened. in an alternate universe, kazuha and you would have been happily together, no rei or yunjin intervening with your relationship. in an alternate universe, you would never have gone through anagapesis.)

If Your Love is in Trouble (Part One)
Tumblr media
"If you're asking yourself, "How do you know?" Then that's your answer" Lana Del Rey, Margaret
Playlist here.
Authors Note: Yes, I am starting another series. Maybe I'll actually finish this one. This was born after playing Spider-Man 2, and I have no explanation for it, I just really wanted an excuse to write this. I know many people aren't into love triangles and that's cool. I still hope you guys read and enjoy because it will predominantly be Peter/Reader.
Pairing: Peter Parker x Fem!Reader x Harry Osborn
Content Warning: Slight mentions of suicidal ideation, couple swear words, pretty tame for the most part right now. Few mentions of a old hair color reader had.
Please reblog, and throw a comment in if you'd like!
Tumblr media
“I can’t believe he’s really gone.” Peter muttered as he sat crisscrossed on the pillows scattered on his bedroom floor turning his best friend's game boy over in his hands. (Y/N) frowned at her friend, her cheeks stained red and swollen from crying, the insides of her cheeks sore from being bitten.
“I know..it’s not fair.”
She rested her head on Peter’s shoulder, her arms wrapping around his torso.
“Norman is fucking evil.” Peter mumbled out, a glance at his open door making sure May didn’t hear the swear fall from his lips. “..and a terrible father, he never deserved to have Harry. But that didn’t mean he had to ship him off. He could have lived here, May and Ben would have taken him in. That’s like their whole thing!”
(Y/N) listened, she knew the hurt Peter was feeling, but she also knew he knew how Harry was feeling. The three of them had been inseparable since they were six, did everything together and went everywhere. But now Harry has gone to some fancy boarding school in the English countryside, not knowing when they’d ever see him again.
“We still have each other.”
Peter laughed sadly, his hand engulfing hers a childlike smile on his face the blue color on his braces catching her eye. “Yeah. And I’m not letting you go anywhere.” Peter wrapped his arm around her neck, pulling her down ruffling her hair. (Y/N) screamed out, thrashing around laughing, trying to fight Peter off.
“Okay you two, okay. Dinner is ready c’mon.” Ben says from Peter’s doorway looking at the middle schoolers. Peter let go of the girl, holding his hand out for her to take helping her up. Ben stood back as the two bursted out of the door, racing one another down the stairs into the warmth of the kitchen. The smell of May’s cooking filling the homey kitchen, a news anchor talking excitedly on the small TV on the counter.
Though the kitchen hadn’t changed in those seven years it was no longer warm, it no longer felt like a second home. The same new anchor talked on the TV, his voice no longer excited but now aged and filled with professionalism. (Y/N) looked around the once familiar area, now feeling like a vampire who’d crossed the threshold uninvited. But she had been invited, May stood in front of her two mismatching coffee cups in hand.
“Take off your coat for a while.”
She coaxed, motioning at the spring jacket on her shoulders. (Y/N) smiled at May’s motherly nature, she hadn’t changed a bit since the last time she’d seen her. Her head had a few more grays on it, and she was wearing her reading glasses more but other than physical she was the same old May.
“I’m so glad I caught you walking, I was gonna call and have these sent to you but..I’ve been wanting to see you anyways.”
“I know May, I’ve missed you. Sorry, I just..I've been..so busy.”
May squinted her eyes, her crows feet becoming prominent. It was never an easy task to lie to May, she saw through everything.
“I bet.” But, she always let the lie continue. May sat at the bar stool, the small photo book in hand as she opened it. (Y/N) settled next to her drinking out of the homemade Spider-Man cup, looking at the first set of photos. Three kids smiled in front of a carousel of horses, two boys and a girl standing in the middle. (Y/N) smiled, her mind flashing to the blonde boy in the photo, thinking about the last time they’d talk. Her eyes followed their muscle memory and looked at the scrawny brunette boy in the photo, his head resting on hers as he held up a peace sign.
“Ben and I basically had to drag you three out of that park when that silly little carousel popped up. It was your favorite part.”
“We used to spend hours there. I used to steal money out of my dad’s wallet to get us rides for the whole week.”
May laughed, nodding her head. (Y/N) smiled at the memory of her thumb rubbing over the slightly aged photo, it felt like her heart shook with grief for what they once were.
“Now this..this is my favorite.”
May held up a photo of two ghosts.
One clad in an awkward fitting sports coat and slacks, the other in a deep blue dress and poorly dyed red hair. In Peter’s scratchy handwriting ‘Junior year winter formal’ was written on the back. (Y/N) swallowed harshly, but smiled at the image.
“You two looked so cute. Your red hair really was something.”
“Mhm, I forgot the last time you saw me I was still a redhead!” (Y/N) hummed softly, sliding the photo back into its slot in the photo album. May hummed, putting her hand against her cheek.
“When was the last time?”
“It was ..I dunno, senior year we just got on christmas break, I had come by because I hadn’t heard from Peter in a couple weeks and I was worried. He’d gone upstate with Gwen’s family, and you gave me that knitted scarf and beanie set.”
“Oh that’s right!” May smiled, grabbing onto (Y/N)’s forearm. “Have you two talked at all?”
(Y/N) laughed awkwardly, her hand coming up to push her hair out of her face. She shook her head rapidly. “No, I'm pretty much on the outskirts of his life now. I think we both go out of the way to avoid one another.”
May shook her head, her nephew's behavior never failing to amaze her. “Whatever happened, have you two tried to fix it?”
“I dunno May, we just…grew apart. He had Gwen, photography and science club…and his other extra activities.” (Y/N) shrugged her shoulders, her hand patting May’s that rested on her forearm. “We grew up I guess.”
May looked at her and it felt like she saw right through her, saw her heart and how Peter had smashed it into a million pieces. (Y/N) pulled her arm gently from May grabbing the coffee cup and taking a long sip. “Oh my god! Is this you and Ben?” It was a quick and easy subject change that May would allow.
The front door opened and May turned her head. “Peter, why don’t you come into the kitchen? I have something I want to show you. I finally pulled those photos down from the attic!”
(Y/N) looked around the kitchen like an animal being caged in, she looked for a quick escape but she could never move that quietly. So she settled with tucking her face away behind May’s figure and maybe if she willed enough she’d turn invisible.
Peter's footsteps turned into a quick jog throughout the house. “May why would you..I told you I’d..” Suddenly all sound stopped. Time felt like it’d stopped with it.
Peter had grown a couple inches since the last time they’d seen one another, she thought he’d looked taller in his birthday post on instagram but maybe she’d just started forgetting what he looked like. He’d finally cut his hair, and started dressing in more fitting clothes. He had become a full adult in the time they’d been apart, it felt like just yesterday they were eighteen year olds hanging out at the skatepark.
“Hey.” He spoke softly, shock in his voice.
“I caught her walking home- thought she’d like a trip down memory lane.”
“Hey Pete.” (Y/N) spoke finally, her eyes following him as he walked to the fridge grabbing out the creamer and making his own cup of coffee. May had opened her mouth to speak before being cut off by the house phone. May grabbed (Y/N)’s shoulder as she stood.
“I’ll be right back.”
Silence, that was once comfortable and knowing, filled the room awkwardly. (Y/N)’s eyes locked to Peter’s back watching his movements.
“Happy belated birthday.”
Peter turned to look at her after the words left his mouth. She could laugh, at least he remembered one thing.
“Yeah, yeah you too. We’re twenty, pretty odd huh?’
“Yeah..I feel like I’ve lived six times that.”
(Y/N) nodded awkwardly, dropping her eyes from him and looking at the winter formal photo in her hands. Her phone vibrating from the counter, both of their eyes immediately looking at it.
‘Harry - Hey, sorry we got cut short last night’
‘Harry - I’m actually grabbing a flight right now, I should be there tomorrow afternoon.’
She clicked the power button flipping it over. “How’s huh Gwen?”
Peter nodded and leaned on the counter, his finger tapping a couple of the scattered photos. “Uh..well. Good, I think. We..broke up.” He spoke quickly, rolling his hand in a circle motion as he spoke. He looked up at her, for what felt like the first time in forever. She nodded, a frown on her lips.
“I’m..really sorry to hear that Pete. I thought for sure you guys would..be together forever.”
“Yeah me too..” He slumped his shoulders and shook his head. “Sometimes things just don’t work out.”
“Tell me about it.” She laughs, it came out more bitter than she intended. Peter nodded, his lips pulling down at the notion. Maybe he knew he owed her a slew of apologies, maybe he was oblivious. She’d rather he be the latter. Clearing her throat she slipped out of the bar stool, grabbing her jacket off the back of the chair.
“I should go. I have an assignment due at six I should get started on.”
“Oh yeah, yeah.” Peter sniffled, his thumb rubbing against his nose. He pressed his fists into the countertop, his fingers popping as he did so. “Let me walk you home.” He offered up, rushing to get his coat from the living room. (Y/N) panicked, her mind moving at a million miles a second. Her brain refuses to process any type of response other than a small yes that she doesn’t even think he heard.
Taking the couple seconds alone she had she messaged Harry back: ‘So excited to see you! Miss your face :)’
“Ready?” Peter asked, he returned with a denim jacket on his shoulders, hands shoved into his pockets. (Y/N) pocketed her phone nodding at him, Peter reached around her holding the back door open for her as they stepped out into the slight chill of the spring weather. The two rounded the side of the house heading down the block. Peter fell into his previous routine, he always took the side of the sidewalk closest to the road, keeping (Y/N) on his inside. She smiled at him, dropping her gaze to her feet.
“I’ve been a terrible friend.”
It wasn’t what she expected to fill the silence. Her mouth fell open, before closing again quickly trying to think of a response.
“I like..totally left you hanging and I just..I’m really sorry that was so fucked up. There was just.” Peters fumbling through his words, it’s not an apology, but she’ll take it.
“Hey Pete, it’s all good. We were kids, and hey what can you do it happened. I played a part in it too. We had a lot going on.”
“You were always trying to excuse my bad behavior, I was a bad friend. I can admit that now, I should have admitted that two years ago.”
(Y/N) shakes her head, a laugh falling out of her lips, her hand coming up to wave it off.
“We were hormonal teenagers Peter, and that got in the way. I’m not mad, I missed you a lot. But maybe it was what we needed to grow.”
“I know but I should have said something. I left you on a fucking rooftop, I..”
“I love you Peter, and I just need to know if you love me.” She screamed over the flow of the traffic below them. Sirens sounding off in the background felt like she was being laughed at by everyone. Peter’s face was numb, filled with shock as he held his mask in one hand, his bruised eyes searching her face. “I’m so confused. I don’t know what to think.”
“I don’t..I don’t know. I dunno, either.”
He shook his head, the sound of the city around him felt like an icepick being stabbed into the back of skull. (Y/N) took a step back, wind blowing against her face whipping the dyed red hair around across her face. She turned and looked over the edge, before looking at him. Jumping from the 20th something floor felt like a better option than hearing whatever Peter had to say.
“I just..is there a chance or is this all for..nothing? Am I holding out for nothing?”
The sirens got louder, and Peter looked between the red head and the flashing sirens below them.
“I’m sorry, we can talk later!” Peter swore as he slid the mask on his face, in a flash he’d thrown
himself over the side of the building a flash of red swinging off into the sky.
The memory crawled into the forefront of her mind and for once it didn’t make her want to claw herself out of her skin. Peter’s hand had creeped out of his jacket pocket and into hers, his hand interlocking with hers. (Y/N)’s lips pulled down in a bittersweet smile, her thumb rubbing across his. For a moment she’s convinced herself nothing changed, for a moment she’s in school sneaking kisses with Peter in the darkroom of the photography club. Waiting for him by his locker ready to trade lunches for the day with silly notes written on the inside.
“It hasn’t changed a bit.”
Peter laughed as they reached the front stoop of her home, his hand still in hers. It was comforting, both having a sneaking feeling of home that they hadn’t felt in almost two years. However, the moment died quickly. Peter let go of her hand, stepping in front of her slightly as he looked around. (Y/N) furrowed her brow as she opened her mouth to talk, the scrapping of a chair drew her attention to the corner of the porch, a figure standing up.
“Mhm that’s what I said. I gotta say though I don’t remember the glass in the window being pink”
The deep voice drew the friend's head towards the sound, (Y/N)’s jaw dropping as she grabbed a tense Peter’s shoulder.
“Harry!”
They both yelled. The sandy blond started down the steps, (Y/N) took off meeting him half way engulfing him in a hug. Peter stood back in shock, looking at his lost friend as if a ghost had just crawled out of its grave in front of him. A small vibration of alert hanging in the back of his skull as the two embrace.

Note
I love the one you did for Steve, could you do a best friends to lovers for Johnny too?
Johnny Cade x Reader - Childhood Friends
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Authors Note - Why are there so many requests for childhood friends?? Not complaining though, keep requesting Enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
▪︎ I think Johnny was pretty shy as a kid
▪︎ Didn't raise his hand, rarely spoke, the one kid teachers would say to 'talk louder' when he read to the class
▪︎ You met whenever the teacher rearranged the seating chart in 3rd grade
▪︎ You were either
A) Super social
Or
B) Just like him
▪︎ If you're super social it worked out flawlessly
▪︎ You answered questions for Johnny
"Can you answer this one, Johnny?"
"..27.5..?"
"What was that?"
"Oh, he said 27.5. He's right."
▪︎ Probably got you in trouble a few times
▪︎ "I'm the teacher of this class!"
▪︎ "Let him talk for himself!"
▪︎ He was eternally grateful for it, though
▪︎ You helped him come out of his shell
▪︎ If you were quiet you two would have an unspoken bond
▪︎ Like you barely talk but you're best friends
▪︎ You have the same problems as him so he relates to you
▪︎ Either way, you two bonded
▪︎ By middle school you were still helping him out
▪︎ I think by now he had the gang
▪︎ But say the gang was off doing their own thing, you'd bring him into your friend group
▪︎ Again, eternally grateful
▪︎ Another thing he's grateful for, you always stood up for him to the socs
▪︎ Whether you're a soc or a grease, you always told them to fuck off
▪︎ You beat some girls ass some time because she called Johnny a pathetic quiet kid with no friends
▪︎ She had to get nose surgery
▪︎ 💀
▪︎ You tell him all the gossip (if you're into that)
▪︎ Like he has blackmail on everyone because of you
▪︎ By high-school he still looks like a middle schooler
▪︎ He's kind of jealous of how you matured so fast
▪︎ Like here he is looking like a 13 year old
▪︎ You're over here looking like you could be on the cover of vogue
▪︎ You helped him see he's lucky, though
"Johnny, when we're 70 years old, I'm gonna look like a pile of ashes and you're gonna like 20."
▪︎ You would've said 'plus you look cute', but you didn't want to ruin the friendship
▪︎ He comes to your house instead of the lot
▪︎ Sometthing about you comforts him
▪︎ Maybe because you're the only one in his life who can calm him down
▪︎ Remember that one time he got jumped?
▪︎ Once he got found by the gang he immediately wanted you
▪︎ He knows the gang couldn't comfort him
▪︎ Sure they'd try, but you could help him
▪︎ Two-Bit hauled him on over to your place
"Heyy, Tw-.. Johnny, what the fuck..?"
▪︎ Even though the gang was really worried they couldn't help but give each other the look
▪︎ The 'ooh she likes him too' look
▪︎ Only for a second though, the next they were helping you patch him up
▪︎ You were holding him, trying to calm him down
▪︎ Which surprisingly somewhat worked
▪︎ He wasn't trembling anymore, just a bit shaky
▪︎ Now that he looks back on it that's the moment he fell head over heels for you
▪︎ Nobody's ever cared for him like that
▪︎ Not Dal, not the gang, not his parents
▪︎ Nobody could calm him down like that
▪︎ He was way more grateful than he was in 3rd grade
▪︎ Now that the jumping has passed
▪︎ He's a bit more awkward around you
▪︎ Just a bit
▪︎ Cause he's literally in love with you
▪︎ And you're like
'Shit, was I too clingy? God, he hates me'
▪︎ Completely clueless he's liked you since you first stood up for him in elementary
▪︎ I don't think Johnny would ever tell you
▪︎ He can't do feelings, he's been hurt too much
▪︎ Eventually Dal has had enough of it
▪︎ Sometime he finally remembers to talk to you
"Listin', ya gawta tell Johnny cake 'bout you crush. Neither of ya' are slick, get it ova' wit."
▪︎ Accurate New York accent right there
▪︎ I think, I don't know
▪︎ Anyways, back on topic
▪︎ I'm going with the social character here
▪︎ Sorry introverts
▪︎ Eventually you finally get the guts to tell him
▪︎ It's one of the nights you're in your room together, casually sitting together, talking
▪︎ He's mid sentence, but if you wait you'll loose your sudden burst of confidence
"Hey, Johnnycake?"
"So-... Yeah?"
"Yknow I care for you a lot, yeah?"
▪︎ He's already blushing
"Uh.. yeah"
"What if I said I like you?"
▪︎ Pure silence
▪︎ He's blushing his ass off
▪︎ Eventually he gets out the words stuck in his throat
"Like.. like like?"
"Yeah.. like that."
▪︎ Couldn't even speak
▪︎ He's too flustered
▪︎ But at the same time he's super happy
▪︎ But it's still awkward
".. I like ya' too."
"Yeah?"
"..Yeah."
▪︎ It didn't end with some romantic kiss, he's not ready for that
▪︎ You both just smiled at each other
"Mkay.. so, what were you saying about Steve?"
▪︎ He's still blushing, processing
▪︎ Smiling.
"I got no idea."

“Do you wanna have sex with me?” Isn’t what you ever expected to ask Billy Hargrove. Especially by the public pools that he was supposed to be guarding.
He’d been sitting high up in his lifeguard chair, smacking his chewing gum enticingly with his eyes alert on every kid in and around the pools and opening his mouth to bark at the occasional running kid. You’d been watching him from afar, sitting up in your chaise lounge with your book half forgotten in your lap as you half-listened to your friends close by.
It wasn’t that surprising that sex was the topic of conversation, as it had been for the most part these past few weeks of the summer. Two of your friend group consisting of five had lost their virginities, and the other’s had somehow managed to score boyfriends. It wasn’t unusual or even weird, seeing as you were all on the cheerleading squad and more popular than you’d like to think about.
It irked you a little bit though, because sex had never been a big issue in your life until this summer. You had focused all you had on your grades and your team seeing as you were the head cheerleader at school. Boys weren’t an issue, you’d had exactly one boyfriend (minus Josh from middle school) and you’d broken up with him after four months when you’d caught him cheating on you with another girl. He had been your first everything, but not your first orgasm.
The guys that did try to ask you out always got shot down, and you tried not to think too hard about why that was your first instinct. Maybe you were still feeling the after effects of being cheated on, or maybe dating in general didn’t excite you as the average high schooler. Your friends called you a prude, and somehow that was the reputation you’d gained in school. The pristine, virginal and sweet cheerleader whom could not be conquered.
They weren’t too far off.
The girls were still chattering as you zoned out, and you caught some words that definitely weren’t meant to be said out loud where kids could hear. Your eyes scanned the pool, eyes squinting in the harsh sunlight until they landed on the lifeguard chair. Or more specifically, Billy.
You didn’t know why your brain conjured the outrageous idea up so fast. Maybe it was because your friends were discussing their boyfriend’s lengthy dicks or maybe you were feeling fed up with being excluded from those conversations. But you found your legs standing and moving before you could think twice of it, throwing a mumbled be right back over your shoulder.
Billy and you had exchanged maybe a full on sentence in your entire lives. You’d see each other at school and you’d once caught him smoking a joint in the girls bathroom. It had flustered you so much so that you’d backed out with a whispered sorry, not even wondering twice about why he was even in the girls bathroom to begin with.
Maybe that’s why Billy had the reaction he did when you stopped right below him. His eyebrows jumped on his forehead as you looked at each other, and you couldn’t read his face more than that thanks to his sunglasses sitting on the bridge of his nose. But you imagined that he was quite surprised and a little lost.
“Hey, gorgeous.” He greeted you, voice like molten lava. It wasn’t hard to figure out why every girl and occasional boy were falling over their feet to get in his bed. He had quite the reputation.
You fought off the feeling of oh my god what in the world am I doing, raising your head to look him in the eye with more bravery than you felt.
“Can we talk?” You asked, sounding more nervous than you would’ve liked.
His interest was piqued though and you took a step back when he began climbing down the chair. You blinked slowly when he faced you, suddenly feeling tongue tied and ten times more jittery. He was a lot taller than you expected, smelling strongly of cologne and cigarette smoke as he pushed his hair back from his forehead. It was damp with perspiration, skin a little sun kissed from spending so many hours under the sun.
“So?” He trailed off, dragging out the vowel.
You let out a shuddered sigh, giving him a nervous smile that he returned with bewilderment. You didn’t blame him, the two of you had absolutely nothing to talk about. You ran in different circles and it was hard to believe you had anything in common.
“I know this is weird, it kinda is. I mean, we don’t know each other and —“ your rambling got cut off with a noise of thinly veiled annoyance.
Billy yanked his sunglasses off and you shut your mouth because holy shit. His eyes were strikingly blue up close, framed by long eyelashes that you couldn’t help but deeply admire. The sudden eye contact almost had your knees knocking together.
“Is there a reason you’re here?” He asked, not rudely. But it was clear he was losing patience. Or maybe he was losing interest.
So, you decided to bite the bullet and just come out with it, “Do you wanna have sex with me?”
The silence was deafening and the rest of the world fell off as your eyes darted between his. He didn’t give you anything, no twitch on his face nor did he laugh or scoff. You didn’t know what to expect, but the silence had you wishing the ground would open up and swallow you whole.
“Oh god,” you whispered, bringing your hands up to your face in mortification as the quiet dragged on for a beat too long and you’d gotten a moment to realise what you’d said. “I’m so sorry, I don’t— I don’t know why I asked that.”
You contemplated walking back and grabbing your things, just so you could get out and never set foot here again. It would be difficult to avoid him in the hallways and in classes, but your ego was too bruised to even care about the logistics. Hell, you had half a mind to drive straight back home and beg your parents to move to a different state.
“I’m gonna go,” you huffed out a laugh that sounded a lot like shame and tacked on, for good measure, “sorry.”
Before you could turn around and do your walk of shame, Billy had reached out and circled his fingers around your wrist. You looked down at his grip, too afraid to look at his face or any other part of him.
“Hold on,” Billy sounded neutral, voice a tad bit strained as he rocked back on his feet in contemplation. “Why are you asking me this?”
Not only did you just embarrass yourself, now he wanted an explanation. The thought of it made you screw your face up in a grimace, closing your eyes as if you could close them from the wave of shame you felt crashing into you like violent waves.
“I don’t know.” You replied finally, voice small. “I guess I’m tired of feeling like an outcast.”
Billy’s startled laugh had you whipping your head up, glaring at him and he reached both hands up to his side in apology. He didn’t look very apologetic though, just amused.
“Sorry, I just— outcast, you said? You’re the head cheerleader.”
You crossed your arms over your chest in defence, ignoring his eyes jumping to the movement before he glanced back at your face. “So? That doesn’t mean I jump into bed with everyone.”
His lips stretched into a slow smirk that almost made you squirm, but you stood your ground and tried to look as harsh as possible. It didn’t seem to work, judging by Billy’s face, but you didn’t let it deter you.
“Nah,” his tongue poked the inner side of his cheek. “I’ve heard the opposite. You’re quite a hard catch, sweetheart.”
It made you cringe, the apples of your cheeks burning and you tried to tell yourself it was because of the way he was indirectly calling you a prude and not because he’d just called you sweetheart. Who gave him the right to be so smooth and confident?
“My friends have all… gained more experience. And I feel a little left out.” You wrung your hands together as you offered your explanation, glancing around to check that no one was listening.
It didn’t seem like it, thankfully. Kids were still swimming and dunking each other under water. You imagined that if Billy had been paying more attention, he would’ve cussed them out. But alas...
Billy sighed, clearly a little agitated as he ran his fingers through his tousled hair. His eyes glanced around, settling on something over your shoulder and you didn’t have to look behind you to see that he was looking at your friends. You cringed internally at the thought of them, knowing they’d have a million questions as to why you were speaking to Billy Hargrove of all people. You were as different as two people possibly could be. At least in social status.
“Sorry, sweetheart. I don’t fuck virgins.” His words jarred you, and you took a step back in shock.
The way he said it so bluntly almost made you recoil entirely. This entire situation was starting to seem so laughable.
“What? No!” You frowned. “I’m not a virgin.”
Billy looked confused now, “Then what the fuck are you asking me?”
The absurdity of it all almost made you laugh.
“I just need…” you trailed off. “Experience, I guess.”
Billy looked around, eyes faraway as he contemplated what you were asking of him. You didn’t blame him, it was a bizarre thing to ask of someone you barely knew.
“Alright,” his eyes looked you up and down, smirk crawling onto his face. “I get off in thirty minutes, meet me in the lobby by then.”
That had you pausing, eyebrows almost touching your hairline as you opened your mouth and closed it. You hadn’t expected him to say yes, but you certainly didn’t expect him to also want to do it today. Now? You weren’t ready, had hardly thought it through when you propositioned him. And what were you going to tell your friends?
“Wait, you want to do it now?” You hated how inexperienced and innocent you sounded, but your nerves were alight.
Billy squinted his eyes, the blue of his eyes almost disappearing behind his lids as he sucked his pink bottom lip into his mouth before releasing it. “I’m sorry, did you wanna schedule a session?”
You felt heat crawl up your neck, managing a shake of the head as you took a step back.
“Thirty minutes.” You said breathlessly.
The walk back to your friends was on autopilot, but your mind was running a mile a minute and you were sure your legs were gonna collapse from underneath you. You didn’t know what to expect, or how to feel about it all.
“What the hell?” One of your friends exclaimed when you plopped down on your lounge chair. You almost nodded because, yeah, what the hell?
The thirty minutes felt like days, as you sat in your chair. Your legs were crossed, book open in your lap but you were too anxious to really read. The words were all jumbled and your eyes were flicking over to the other side of the pool area. Billy was in his usual element and if he felt even half of the anxiety you were feeling, then he was a damn good actor. His posture was too relaxed, and he looked calmer than you felt.
You pretended not to look as another lifeguard padded out to where Billy was climbing down the ladder. They exchanged a few words and then Billy was walking away. You couldn’t look away as he passed you, and when your eyes briefly met, you quickly averted your gaze with warmth creeping up your face.
He disappeared into the building, and you gave it exactly two minutes before you told your friends you’d hit the restrooms. You didn’t give them a chance to say anything, getting out of your chair and walking briskly the way Billy had gone.
It was empty in the lobby area, everyone outside basking in the sun instead of sitting indoors. Heather was manning the reception, head down as she scribbled in a notepad. She looked bored and you sidestepped out of her field of view in fear that she’d spot you and strike up a conversation.
You felt his presence before you saw him.
“Come with me.” Billy grabbed your hand, pulling you along as he began walking down a narrow hallway.
You silently followed him, trying not to think too hard about how warm his hand was as it engulfed yours or how nicely his back muscles moved beneath his black top. His hair was curly and frizzy, looking a little dry from all the chlorine water and sunshine. He smelled like chlorine too, but it was more pleasant than one would expect.
It took you a moment to realise that he had stopped outside a door the furthest away from the lobby and you felt your eyebrows scrunch in a frown when he unlocked the door and pushed it open; Revealing a supply closet. It was big, cluttered and smelt weird.
Billy didn’t seem to mind much though, pulling you inside and closing the door behind you. The darkness blanketed the room for a second before the boy flicked the switch. You blinked to get used to the dim light, turning around to look at Billy. Your heart was racing and the small sense of bravado you were feeling earlier had been extinguished as you stood in front of the unruly haired boy. He seemed to be contemplating you, eyes roaming your figure before he took a step forward.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked, voice low enough that you felt it in the pit of your abdomen.
You almost shook your head, because kissing was romantic and intimate and this was anything but that. But you looked in his eyes, gaze dropping to his lips and you found yourself nodding your consent because they looked too inviting not to taste.
He didn’t waste time, fingers sliding over the sides of your throat and into your hair as he crowded your space. You stepped with him when he walked you backwards, pushing your body into a shelf. The impact had your mouth open in a gasp, but he swooped forward to swallow the sound. You moaned in surprise, eyes fluttering closed at the taste of minty gum and cigarette smoke.
Billy was a lot of things, and a good kisser was one of them. Sure, you didn’t have much experience but it didn’t take a genius to recognise a person who knew what he was doing. His lips moved with purpose, tilting your head with the help of his hands as he slowly explored your mouth. His nose pressed into your cheek, little puffs of breath escaping him. He pulled at your hair a little too hard and you unexpectedly moaned into his mouth at the pleasurable pain.
Your stomach was clenching and turning, heart beating so fast that you were afraid he’d be able to feel it when he pressed his chest against yours. If he did, he said nothing of it as he instead pried your mouth open wider for him to taste your tongue. He licked and sucked, his hands leaving your hair to explore your body. You were thankful to still be in your bikini, because it allowed you to feel the heat of his hands as they grabbed and pinched at the skin of your body.
“Good?” He asked breathlessly against your lips, pulling away a bit to look into your eyes.
He grinned wickedly at what he saw on your face; Eyes dazed and blown with lust, lips kissed raw. Billy didn’t know you, but it was clear that you were inexperienced and he intended to have your knees trembling and your voice hoarse before he let you walk out of the supply closet.
“Good.” You echoed, lips touching his when you nodded.
He couldn’t help but feel a small pang of endearment at the sight of you, hurrying to catch your lips in another filthy kiss before his mind strayed too far into unknown territory.
Your chest burned at the lack of oxygen you were getting, but you had no intention of slowing down because your bikini bottoms were getting damp with your slick and that was something new. A person had never had that effect on you. You didn’t even know it was possible to orgasm without the help of your hands and here you were now, turned on beyond belief just because someone was kissing you.
“Fuck, such a good girl,” Billy dragged his lips to your jaw, sucking and licking down your neck and between your tits. He paused a moment to pull back and reach his hands out to grab a handful of them. The action had you gasping, arching into his hold as he swiped his thumbs over your puckered nipples. “Oh baby, someone’s been neglecting you, hm?”
Your face burned at his words, a small whimper tumbling out of your mouth when he grabbed the flimsy material of your cups and pulled them down. Your hands automatically went up to hide your chest from him, but Billy tutted and grabbed both of your hands with a laugh.
“Billy—“ you turned your head up to stare at the ceiling in embarrassment.
“They’re so pretty, sweetheart, look at you.”
His voice had you squirming, pressing your thighs together and Billy almost groaned at the sight. His hands kneaded at your tits, sucking your right nipple into your mouth with a wet noise. His eyes were trained on your face, silently willing you to look back down so you could see how fucking starved he was for you.
The idea of fucking you was something that had passed his mind many times before. At those silly pep rallies, when you walked down the hallway with your friends in your uniform. Hell, he’d fantasise about bending you over and pulling at your ponytail in the classes he did attend. But those were fantasies, nothing more.
He could hardly believe that you were here, tits on display and his mouth suckling on you like a depraved man. He was quick to switch buds, giving it the same treatment before he kissed his way down your stomach. It was heaving, a clear indication that you were turned on beyond belief and something about that had Billy feeling absolutely feral. Fuck, he could smell you from where he was crouched in front of you.
His hands stroked your calves, up your legs before they stopped on your thighs. You whined into the room, bucking your hips a little when he stopped moving.
“Hey,” his voice broke the tense silence. “Look at me.”
You closed your mouth, swallowing as you glanced down at him. He was on his knees, pupils blown wide with lust and lips looking extra pink in the dim light. His cheeks were flushed, a light smattering of red and it looked way better on him than you wanted to admit.
“Tell me, sweetheart,” his voice was teasing, deliciously seductive. “Has anyone ever made you come?”
You rolled your hips at his words, feeling way too turned on to keep yourself together as you whined. It felt like you’d actually die if he didn’t touch you soon. Billy didn’t care though, he expected an answer and he pinched your thighs harshly in retaliation
“Answer me, pretty girl.” He coaxed. “Has anyone ever eaten this little pussy out?”
You felt like you were burning up from the inside when you looked down at him, shaking your head bashfully. “No.”
Billy frowned then, because fuck what a shame. And he voiced that out loud. “That’s a damn shame. You look so pretty like this, and you haven’t even come on my mouth yet.”
That got a moan out of you.
“Please, please,” your voice was small, needy. You were beyond caring about shame or anything other than his hands on you.
Billy danced his fingers up your thighs, touching your pussy over the material of your bikini bottoms. He felt a zap of arousal down his spine when he felt the bump of your swollen clit beneath his finger. You shuddered violently when he pressed the pad of his finger down against your nub, grin forming on his lips.
“Please, what?” He whispered, leaning forward to kiss your hip.
“Please, touch me.”
He didn’t waste anymore time, hooking his fingers into your bottoms and yanking them down your legs. He tapped your calf, urging you to step out of them and you were quick to obey. Billy grinned at your eagerness, fingers finding your center and spreading your lips open. You gasped at the sudden cool air on your slick pussy, rearing your hips back.
He grunted and grabbed a hold of your hip with one hand to pull you forward. You went willingly, mouth dropping open in a silent moan when he leaned forward and sealed his mouth on your cunt.
It was a new feeling, having someone’s mouth on you like this. Your ex-boyfriend had only ever fingered you before he fucked you, and you’d never managed to orgasm with him. Yet here you were, Billy’s mouth licking and sucking on your most sensitive area and your legs were trembling.
It felt like you were falling into the abyss, mind far away and mouth gapping open in silent moans and harsh intakes of breath. You tried to keep eye contact with the boy between your legs, but then he’d suck on or flick your clit with his tongue and you’d throw your head back.
The noises he was making were absolutely obscene, and it lit your nerves up like never before. He was moaning like a starved man, tongue digging into your hole and nose touching your clit so deliciously that you felt the telltale signs of an orgasm incoming.
You let go of the shelf with one hand to grip Billy’s hair, the softness of it grounding you for exactly two seconds before you were starting to make these needy, high pitched noises at the back of your throat. Billy loved it, but you were still in public and you were getting a little too loud. He pulled his mouth away from you, sliding a finger into you instead to keep you skating right on the edge of your orgasm.
“You need to be quiet sweetheart,” he whispered, mirroring your movement when you looked back down to nod at him. He wasn’t even sure you were fully listening to him, judging by the fucked out expression on your face. “Can you do that? Be quiet for me?”
You hummed, a dragged out mmm sound that went up in pitch when he crooked his finger up into the spongy spot, returning his mouth to solely focus on your clit. He ate you out eagerly, listening for sound cues and upping his speed when you bucked your hips into him. His scalp was on fire with how you were pulling at his hair, trying to get him as close to you as humanly possible, but he loved it. Billy was so hard in his shorts that he was sure he’d bust if he got a hand around himself.
He clasped a hand on one of your butt cheeks to pull you into him, and you don’t know why that did it for you. But your mouth opened into a silent scream as you shuddered through your orgasm; Pushing yourself into him as your vision blacked out.
Billy was humming into you, creating little vibrations against your clit that was rapidly growing more sensitive the longer he stayed licking on it. You moaned weakly, head lolling forward to find him staring at you.
“Mmm, hurts,” you rasped, jerking when he sucked on your sensitive bud. “Billy—“
“One more, sweetheart. Give me one more.” He begged you, sliding a second finger into your dripping core.
You almost buckled, grabbing the shelf behind you with both hands to keep yourself upright. The aftershocks faded the longer Billy licked and fucked you on his fingers, a familiar tingling returning as he started pickling up speed.
“Oh Billy,” you moaned, a touch too loud but you didn’t seem to care all to much as you started humping forwards.
Billy flushed, pleased with himself as he leaned back. His jaw was killing him so he replaced his tongue with his calloused thumb, rolling your clit underneath the pad of it like an expert.
“C’mon baby, let me see that pretty face.” He urged you on, fucking you harder and deeper with his fingers.
He didn’t expect you to buck your hips forward, throwing your head back and wail your orgasm out as you came on his hand. You were dripping, body trembling as it tilted forward as if to chase his relentless hand on your pussy. He was in awe, eyes not straying from your sweaty face as you came down from your high, slowing his fingers down before he eventually pulled them out.
You gave away a small hitched moan at the emptiness, and Billy couldn’t help but reach forward to give your clit a little kiss. Your hips jumped at the small touch to your sensitive bud, and you heaved a weak moan.
“Good?” He asked, feeling and sounding quite pleased with himself.
You didn’t reply, still a little lost in your recovery. But that was answer enough for the boy as he slowly reached for your bikini bottoms, pulling them up your legs and mournfully covering your pussy once again. He got to his feet, knees protesting and back aching.
You looked sinfully good, your tits still on display and sweaty all over. Your hands were still grasping onto the shelf as you struggled to hold your weight up, and Billy grinned at that. He silently pulled your cups up over your chest, covering it before he stroked a stray of sweaty hair from your face.
You blinked your eyes open then, and Billy almost lost his breath when they focused on him. You’d been so disarmed during the whole session, relaxed and shameless. So, it was almost endearing to watch how you came back to the present, stumbling upright on shaky legs and face morphing into that shy expression you often donned.
“I can—“ you trailed off weakly, reaching a hand out to grab at his shorts. Billy gathered all the strength in the world to stop you, fingers once again circling your wrist. You blinked up at him, confusion written all over your face.
Billy was still hard, aching to come, but you were in absolutely no shape to reciprocate and he was fine with that. He’d just wait until he got home to rub one out, probably.
“No need,” he gave you a smile when you frowned. “We’ll save that for next time.”
He had expected you to scoff, to roll your pretty little eyes and say that there was no next time. But all you did was give him a slow, shy smile. “Okay.”
Next time. You could work with that.

Scoops Troop dnd post
When Steve started dating Eddie, he was sure that meant everything would be out in the open. What secrets did they have left after that? Eddie already knew about the monsters and the Upside Down. Now he knew that Steve liked guys and was attracted to him specifically. There wasn’t much after all that.
“So you’re gonna tell your boyfriend about your secret hobby too?”, Erica asked one day when he picked her up from school.
“Dammit.”
Because that was a secret privy to only three other people. After the entire ordeal with the Russians in the mall, Dustin had officially sucked them into Dungeons and Dragons. First Erica, and then, somehow he and Robin. Steve still wasn’t sure if the drugs had been entirely out of his system then.
But the fact remained. Steve Harrington played DnD. And he did so with a band geek, a known nerd, and a middle schooler. So sue him if he wanted to keep that on the down low. Even as he came around to his feelings for Eddie, he didn’t want to bring it up. If Eddie knew, one of two things would happen. One, he’d accept Steve into nerdom with only the minimal amount of smugness and then invite him to the Hellfire campaigns. The problem with that was that Steve liked the little low stakes campaigns he did with Dustin, Erica, and Robin. He didn’t have to impress his expert boyfriend or the club members who would be scrutinizing every move he made. Or Mike. Not dealing with Mike was also a plus.
Or two, Eddie would absolutely be offended that Steve kept this from him and would rather have a little girl for his DM. Eddie had come to respect Erica’s style of play and rebellious attitude, but only when it wasn’t directed at him.
The more Steve thought about it, the more he convinced himself it was better Eddie didn’t know. It helped that never in a million years did Eddie think he’d be into it. Certainly not enough to sneak off and do it.
But while Eddie would never suspect a tabletop game, he would come to suspect other things.
When Steve gave sketchy answers about where he was going or where he’d been. When he woke up early after a night spent at Eddie’s and said he absolutely had to go. Something to do with his parents. But later on Nancy had confirmed that said parents were still out of town.
Eddie didn’t like assuming. But this whole relationship thing was still new. And he knew this type was new for Steve too. So could he be judged for having some suspicions?
Things came to a head when Steve called, saying he was going to be late for their date.
“Are you still at home?”, Eddie had asked. “Primping takin’ you that long, Stevie?”
“Haha, funny. But actually, Iiiii’m helping Dustin with his homework. So it’s gonna be at least another....”, he paused, like he was waiting for something. “Another half hour. Sorry, babe.”
“No need for apologies. Academics first, that’s what I always say.” Eddie commended how even his voice was. It wasn’t until the call ended that he began gesturing wildly and ranting while searching for his keys.
Helping Dustin with homework?! He couldn’t come up with a better excuse than that?! Steve was fucking someone behind his back and he was going to find out who.
“Helping me with my homework? Really Steve?”, Dustin derided from the kitchen table.
“I know, it was stupid. So let’s finish this up before he gets suspicious.”
Erica snorted. “If you roll for that perception, you’re at a loss.”
“Yeah, you’d think you’dve gotten better at lying at this point”, Robin added on.
“Game is continuing now. You guys have already made me late”, Steve said as he sat down.
They started again and even though they meant to close it, it kept going on and on until the sound of wheels parking was heard. Steve went to the front window and cussed under his breath.
“It’s Eddie!”, he hissed.
The rest of them did a mad dash to clean up the table while making the least noise possible. Steve put on his best ‘innocent face’ when he heard the pounding of the front door.
“Eddie! I thought I was coming to pick you up? Couldn’t be patient for me, huh?”
“Cut the bullcrap, Harrington. Where are they?”, Eddie asked.
“They? They who?”, Steve asked as his boyfriend pushed his way into the house.
“Whoever it is you’ve got here. Did you think I was an idiot?”
“No, Eddie listen. I-”
“Was it funny? Pulling the wool over my eyes for this long?”
“Eddie this wasn’t about tricking you. This was about, just, you know, blowing off some steam.”
For a moment, Eddie didn’t speak, just made faces and gestures as he tried to process this. “Is it Nancy? Huh? Or Jonathan? Or is it someone you pulled off the street?”
Steve raised a brow. “Nancy wouldn’t really go for it, I don’t think. And Jonathan...I don’t really know. I never thought about it.”
“It’s typically not the kind of thing you think about Steve.”
“So you’ve never thought of doing something like this with Wayne?”
“WITH WAYNE?!?”
There was the sound of movement in the kitchen. A breath and a clattering. Eddie was moving before Steve could speak, determined to find the hussy, only to nearly trip on some dice and come face to face with the three hideaways under the table.
Moving slowly, Eddie picked up the dice and examined it. Then his eyes went over to the notes that hadn’t been moved from the table. Then he slowly turned towards Steve.
“It appears I’ve made an ass of myself.”
“Huh?”
“But I’m not the only one. Because while I thought you were cheating on me, it turns out you were doing something even more scandalous.”
“Eddie I-wait, you thought I was cheating on you?!”
“Can we get from under the table now that the jig is up?”, Erica complained.
The three of them removed themselves with a groan while Eddie was looking at his boyfriend with new eyes.
“You play?”
Steve nodded.
“And you kept it from me?”
Steve nodded again.
“I think I made the right assumptions, given the information I had”, Eddie said. “Because you were in fact cheating on me. Just not sexually.”
“Eddie, I’m sorry. I didn’t know how to tell you.”
“You can’t just be mad at him”, Dustin said. “We kept it from you too.”
Robin balked. “Speak for yourself. I’ve been saying the whole time that Eddie should know.”
“I think all can be forgiven one one condition”, Eddie said, holding up his index finger. “And that is that my baby comes to Hellfire for an entire month.”
Steve let out a small breath of relief. That wasn’t so bad. Barely even a punishment really. But then Eddie sauntered over to him and whispered into his ear.
“And you’ll be in my lap the whole time.”
Because even if Eddie had gotten the wrong notion, it wasn’t a bad idea to remind Steve who he belonged to.

Don't mind me just venting, after reading some JJK x readers and it's also past 1 AM so I am questioning my life pretty much. Pretty angsty, insecure, self confidence lacking vent.
🩵Randomly recommended song🩵
----------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
Being single since the day you were born wasn't so great. Sure, until your late teenage years you thought you might be too young to date anyone. It wouldn't be real love after all. Just the typical young love that middle and high schoolers go through. You know, those relationships which end in a short period of time. However, as proud as you were that you were never included in these things... it was saddening being surrounded by people who were either in a relationship or had one.
You wanted to feel loved, also developed attachment issues, making it harder to make a difference between liking or loving someone, but it wasn't your fault anyways. Even if this issue gave you a hard time, making you desperate to be in a relationship finally, you had a type, you had standards which you never planned giving up on, right? You wanted to be happy with someone who hit these requirements, you weren't asking for much, were you?
Then why are you telling yourself that it is fine if they are not your type at all, they hit a few things you like in someone, that must be enough too, right?
Oh...
Maybe you do ask for a lot, no? After all, who are you to have the audacity to even think of having standards? Huh? Look at yourself...
What do you have to offer?
Have you ever thought of if these kind of people would even love you back? Oh please... Do you really think you hit their standards?
Don't be so self centered, you are not the only one who thinks the way you do.
Now go and lose some weight so you would have the ideal body.
Put some make up on to hide your ugly face, or at least make something else be the center of attention when they look you in the eye.
Have you looked at your nails? They look like you have never ever taken care of them. Maybe some press ons might help that.
I hope you remember that your face isn't the only thing ugly here. What a shame, look at that hip, those thighs and breast covered in white stretch marks. You know those are permanent, right?
Uhm... look at your grades... You can try telling yourself that "those don't reflect your real knowledge", but do you really believe it? You're so stupid. You really think you would have a chance with anyone this way?
Your looks changed so much. Almost looking completely like those annoying girls.
You are one of them, aren't you?
Well, not really. Fortunately.
However, even those kind of people you dislike, your current classmates, your ex-lassmates, even your bullies, one who is also known as your toxic ex-friend, has a partner.
Maybe, just maybe...
...you are the issue.
Tumblr media
----------------------------------------------
Don't misunderstand me, I don't have problem with people who do make up, do their nails or do anything to make themselves feel prettier. Then I was talking about the annoying girl who do these, I meant I hate their personality. Their personality is what's rotten.
LOVE Y'ALL, MWAH!
I just go, continue listening to my vent playlist while crying, no sleep needed this night.
Geto x reader hurt/comfort coming soon, where again, I will just list my insecurities but he comes to the rescue and comforts the reader<33

It’s been made pretty clear by the fandom, not just Buddie Shippers, that we aren’t really fans of who Buck and Eddie end up with in the finale.
The biggest issue I have with the pairings is that they weren’t worked up, they kind of just showed up and we have no reason to care about them.
If these women are supposed to be endgame, at least give us ample reason to support the choice.
Tumblr media
Natalia: They really screwed up her character because there was so much potential in making her interesting and someone we would like to get to know. She’s a death dula and Buck died. Instead of having her tell Buck that it’s so “cool” that he died they could of had her play an active role in having him process his death. I mean they still have the opportunity to do that but after they gave us a cringe date, a recycled story line, but with less depth, they gave us too many reasons to dislike her as a character for me to even see that play out.
They made the same mistake they made with Lucy. Instead of having Natalia be a friend to Buck they force her to be a love interest which adds nothing new to bucks character.
But imagine Buck’s character development if Natalia was a friend. He would have gone from Buck 1.0 ( The guy who only does hook ups), to Buck 2.0 (the guy who just ends up in relationships) to Buck 3.0 (the guy who chooses himself and is able to be friends with a woman).
We can also address the fact that there is a lack of chemistry between Buck and Natalia. The kiss in the finale was awkward and not in a cute endearing way. I will say, I love that she doesn’t look like she could be related to Buck. I’m willing to see their relationship play out during season 7, but I just can’t see it being the end game.
Tumblr media
Marisol: Where did she come from. What do you mean this is the girl that has Eddie acting like a middle schooler. She came out of nowhere and we know almost nothing about her, besides the fact that she fixes her brother’s mistakes.
I rewatched Season 6, Episode 5: Home Invasion, where we are first introduced to Marisol and after watching the episode, I believe the fan theory that her brother’s rescue was originally written as a boyfriend being rescued. But after the scenes where already filmed, the writers decided she’d be the love interest so they re-recorded the audio of the scene. I’m serious go back and watch her emergency, there is something off about it.
Marisol to me feels like another Ana. No substance, no reason for me to care about her. They both barely interacted, so their phone call makes less sense the more you think about it.
The same episode where Eddie is told he can’t look for love, he finds what he’s “been looking for”. This feels like Eddie is again only doing what he thinks he is supposed to do. Instead of processing his feelings of loneliness, he’s doing what he thinks the world expects him to do and date someone. He married Shannon because he felt like he had to. He stayed with Ana because he thought it was best for Christopher. And he’s settling for Marisol because he doesn’t want to be alone. None of those reasons are good reasons to pursue someone for a serious relationship.
It’s one thing to have Eddie date because he wants to be outside his comfort zone, meet people, and have fun. It’s a completely other thing to have him date because he feels like he needs to.
The only way to make Marisol a good character is by having her be a person that helps Eddie figure that out. She helps him realize that it’s not just about the end game, but his ability to just enjoy her company and not so worried about what the end result. She can just be someone he dates because she was fun to date. A relationship that shows him that you can have someone be an important part of your journey, but not your end game. Like a summer fling.
Given the fact that the actress who plays Marisol recently reposted a transphobic meme and couldn’t even attempt a sincere apology, I hope we don’t get to see her at all in season 7. She can be explained away by Eddie mentioning her once and just saying it felt promising but she just wasn’t the one. I have no interest in see their relationship play out.
Tumblr media
Buddie: In my opinion, the best match for Buck and Eddie will always be each other. The writers have their relationship set up as the perfect slow burn, friends to lover scenario. And even though they screwed up the finale a bit, they can easily correct their wrongs. Buck and Eddie’s chemistry is undeniable and having them end up together would play into their individual story lines so perfectly.
I need this relationship that has developed organically to flourish in Season 7.
I will continue to manifest Buddie and let me use this moment to state couch theory is not dead. Buck will just need to get rid of another couch.

A Familiar Face
Literally so fun to write this. I think it’s so cute. Also a rushed ending so sorry about that. and possibly mitsuya being a little OOC sorryyyyy.
Summary: (Y/N), being the quiet girl in class, never expected to meet the popular boy from school on her way home, in a…not so handsome way. And well, she didn’t expect to drag him home so she could care for his injuries either.
Relationship: Takashi Mitsuya x Female Reader
Fandom: Tokyo Revengers
Warnings: Fight aftermath, blood, bruises, slight scarring, hurt/comfort, care, fluff :), injury care
Random Prompt used: She barely recognized him for the bruises when he lifted his head.

— — —
It was bad. She could hear it. Just around the corner, hidden in an alleyway, is a middle school fight she knew she shouldn’t be involved in. But when she peaked around the corner, she saw a familiar face she couldn’t miss.
Now, (Y/N) has never been through a situation like this before. So, of course, she backed away so the big high schoolers wouldn’t see her. And, to her dismay, her heart was set on helping the poor guy.
“I’d never forgive myself if I just walked by…” (Y/N) whispered to herself, flinching at every pained grunt her classmate made from the alleyway. Somehow, the sounds of punches and kicking, high school boys laughing maniacally, and the victim crying out in pain are the only sounds to be heard on the street. Was no one else hearing this? She could see adults walking on the other side of the street, minding their own business.
(Y/N) was taught not to mettle into others' business. But somehow, this situation didn’t call for that particular rule. Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) cups her hands around her mouth, screaming at the top of her lungs.
“Police! They’re over here! Beating on some kid!”
The high school boys poke their heads out one by one, cursing at such a false predicament. Not that they knew it was false news. (Y/N) pushed herself against the wall as close as she could, trying to avoid catching their eyesight. Luckily, the boys ran away in fear, leaving the victim left on the dirty alleyway ground.
(Y/N) ran up to the alleyway, checking on the boy who lay beaten on the ground, but her eyes glanced back up at the retreating boys. “Holy shit…they actually believed it?”
Shaking her head, she jogs up to her classmate, softly calling out to see if he is still alive. She could see the blood soaking through his white school uniform; the black outer layer was thrown somewhere further down the alleyway.
“H-Hey…Mitsuya…? Please tell me you’re awake.” She was too scared to touch him, thinking it’d hurt him somehow.
Surprisingly, she barely recognized him for the bruises when he lifted his head. She gasped in horror at the purple, blue, and green splotches of color covering his face. It was so swollen she could feel her own face aching just by looking at him.
“It's…you…” He mumbles out.
“I-I’m so sorry, but we need to get you up, okay?” She had to admit, being so close to him was like a dream come true. She had always dreamed of talking to him again since she last spoke to him at the beginning of the year with a school project. Every girl in school loved his caring personality and the joy of creating clothes and other craft materials. From what she was told, he was so easy to talk to.
(Y/N) was the quiet girl in class. When she wanted to talk to someone, it was very difficult for her to fulfill that task, much less to a boy. She would get nervous and feel embarrassed that she’d say something wrong. Now that she’s thinking about it, she’s starting to feel that embarrassment in her system from her struggle to pick him up.
Finally, after a few long minutes, she gets him as comfortable as he can be against her side, holding him up by holding his waist with one arm and holding his arm on her shoulders with the other. With a tired grunt, (Y/N) makes her way down the street.
He’s so close! She couldn’t help but blush at him being so close to her, not that he wanted to. Shaking her head, (Y/N) focuses back on the problem at hand.
“I hope it’s okay, but my house is just down the block. I can clean your wounds there,” she says softly.
The silver-haired boy nods slowly. “You’re…(Y/N), right? Why did you,” a painful cough from his injured body interrupts his words, “...help me?” He finishes.
(Y/N) paused for a second, thinking about this whole situation. Why was she helping him? “I told myself earlier that I'd never forgive myself if I just walked by, leaving you be. I mean…you could have died.”
Thinking back to his words, something catches her attention, “Wait…you remember me?”
A small crooked smile graces his lips, “I’m pretty good at remembering faces. You always sit in the corner of the class, alone.”
She chuckles nervously, “H-how embarrassing…”
Soon, the duo makes it to her home, and she carefully sets him on the sofa. She set his uniform jacket on the edge, close to him, so that he wouldn’t forget it. (Y/N) quickly got to work by grabbing the first aid and sitting close to him to reach the cuts on his face.
Your beautiful face is all messed up… she says silently to herself.
“You think I have a beautiful face?”
(Y/N) froze, seeing that she didn’t say it silently like she thought she did. “I-I’m sorry! I didn’t-” She immediately looks away, pulling the alcohol-soaked cotton swab away from his face.
He chuckles a little, coughing a bit from the pain. “It’s okay…it sounds nice.”
Returning to her first aid, she wonders, “Why were they…hurting you? If you don’t mind me asking…”
Takashi took his time thinking about the answer, humming in thought. “I’m in a gang. Those guys were from another gang that hates my gang.”
“Oh…I wouldn’t have guessed you were in a gang. I promise I won’t tell anyone.”
She hears his angelic laugh once more, making her smile. “Don’t worry about it. Our gang is well known.”
Once she was finished, she cleaned up her small station of injury cleaning products. “Alright, I’m done. You look a lot better.”
“Do I have my beautiful face back?”
(Y/N) couldn’t help but laugh, Takashi joining in. “Yes, it’s back.”
Takashi carefully stands up, putting his jacket on with the help of (Y/N). “(Y/N),” he calls her name, surprising her a bit, “Thank you…for helping me.”
She nervously holds the door open, pushing a lock of her hair behind her ear, “O-of course! Um…if you need anything…I’ll be happy to help.”
He smiles at her, gently patting her head. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
(Y/N) has never felt such excitement with words. He was going to see her tomorrow? She held back her screech of happiness when she shut the door. She couldn’t wait for tomorrow.

Love On The Brain 2
⚠️: swearing, violence, unwanted touching by a stranger
I hope yall like this series so far as much as I do❤️❤️ And thank you so much once again to @spark2flame they are gonna help me so much with this series!!
Tumblr media
“Move nerd!” A shoulder slammed into yours causing you to stumble forward in the busy hallway. You glared at the blonde and met his crimson gaze.
“Nerd? I prefer just being called more intelligent.” Bakugo stopped in his tracks and turned to face you. “Don’t be rude just because you couldn’t solve a math problem and I could.” A small crowd had gathered around the two of you, wondering if a fight was going to break out. A smirk grows on Bakugo’s face.
“So you think you’re so intelligent huh? Then what about this?” He pulls a crumpled piece of paper from his pocket and throws it, hitting your nose. You picked the ball up and unfurled the paper, a long math problem presented itself at the top. To be fair this was a harder problem than the teachers should be giving middle schoolers. Running through the multiple processes in your mind you smiled and looked up at Bakugo.
“145, if you think I’m wrong go have the teacher check it.” With that you walked away, but not before crumpling up and throwing the paper back at him.
—————
You were sitting on the bench waiting for the bus when someone huffed and plopped down next to you. “You were right, nerd.” Shifting your gaze Bakugo had his arms crossed and his jaw clenched. “Do ya think you could start helping me in that class?” A smirk covered your features as you looked at him.
“Of course I can, on one condition.” He raised an eyebrow at you waiting for your answer. “Stop calling me nerd.”
•••••
“Hey, nerd.” The nickname stuck, but now there was no malice behind it. A large hand ruffled your hair as Bakugo leaned against the lockers.
“Bakugo!” You groaned hurriedly fixing your hair. After tutoring him in middle school you two quickly became best friends. You were the first person who had stood up to him and he had respected that.
“Kirishima is having a party tonight, you going?”
“Obviously. When have you known me to miss a Halloween party? What’s your costume?”
“Ghostface.”
You hummed, “Simple but hot, you’ll have all the girls swooning I’m sure.”
“Maybe but I’m only looking for a certain one”
You closed your locker and picked up your bag, “Well I’m sure you’ll get her Kacchan.”
————
Memories flooded back as you got ready. You and Bakugo were invited to Kirishima’s annual Halloween party as always, except now Bakugo has to have more elaborate costumes to maintain a low profile. You had on some torn black fishnets, a short black dress and a pair of chunky black boots. You didn’t have time to plan a costume so this would have to work. Walking back to the living room you caught a glimpse of Bakugo. Ripped black jeans and combat boots are all he had on at the moment, you could feel your cheeks turn pink. “Have you seen my long sleeve?” He asked.
“Did you look in the dryer?” He gave you a deadpan look, “I’ll take that as a yes. If it’s not there or in your closet then I don’t know what to tell you.”
“Fuck it then I’ll wear this.” He pulled a form fitting white t shirt on. “You ready?”
“No costume?”
“Nah, I told Eiji I’d do a couple songs so there’s no use in hiding this year.” He spun his key ring around his finger while he waited for you.
Bakugo parked the car and helped you out due to the loose gravel and the boots you chose to wear. “How the fuck are you walking in those?”
You chuckled, “it’s not hard, just takes practice.” You two arrived at the front door and Kirishima greeted you.
“There’s my two favorite pals!” Eiji’s eyes looked over you and he gave a low whistle, “You’re looking good sweetheart.” A huff came from beside you and Bakugo’s face was contorted into a scowl.
“Where’s the set up?” With that Eiji led you through the massive house and the whole time Bakugo’s hand was on your back, helping you weave through the crowds of people. When you got to the makeshift stage Bakugo turned to you, “Hey be careful while we’re here okay?” You nodded. As he was getting ready you somehow found your way to the kitchen to pour you and Bakugo a drink. You got back to the stage and handed him the cup of beer. He downed it in one go and brought the microphone up to his lips, “How’s everybody doing tonight?” The cheers from everyone echoed. The music started and you smiled to yourself, of course this should be the song he starts off with.
“I've been searching for an answer, but I ain't found one. I've been known to tear shit up and go off like a gun. I've been drinking way too much, but now I think I'm done.” The music drops and a smirk is plastered on Bakugo’s face, “Fuck that shit let’s start a riot!”
You were in the front of the crowd, swaying your hips to the music and sipping on your drink. You were the designated driver for tonight but that didn’t mean you couldn’t have a little bit to loosen up.
The night continued on, Bakugo finished performing a while ago and he and Kirishima were getting shit faced. You were still nursing your second cup since it would be your last for the night. There was some rock music playing over the speakers and you’d be damned if you sat down now. You continued to dance, the alcohol helping out a bit. The sound drowning out your thoughts. You felt an arm snake around you waist and someone brush up against your backside, “Well don’t you look lovely tonight.” You glanced behind you and saw a handsome man with long white hair, he was dressed in all black with bright red shoes.
“You don’t look so bad yourself.” You hummed. You continued dancing with the man, grinding up on him. You saw Bakugo round the corner and send a frown your way, but you didn’t pay any mind. Probably mad about something he and Eiji were talking about. Your mystery man’s hands started tracing up your body, stopping right below your breasts before lightly squeezing them. “Hey there watch-“
“Alright that’s enough!” The man’s hands were ripped away from you and you whipped around to see Bakugo shoving the guy back. “Keep your hands off her!”
“Bakugo!” You yelled but the music was so loud you don’t know if he heard you. You saw the man you were dancing with say something you couldn’t hear, then suddenly Bakugo’s fist made contact. The two men were on the ground pummeling each other before Bakugo got the advantage and pinned the other man. Over and over his fist landed blows, finally you were able to snap out of your trance and run over.
“Katsuki! Quit, get off of him!” Bakugo looked up at you, a crazed, jealous look in his eyes. He stood up and wiped the blood from his nose.
“Let’s go.” He grabbed your arm and dragged you out to the car. You could smell the alcohol on his breath.
When you got to the car you dug your heels into the gravel, “What the fuck Bakugo? Why did you do that?” You ripped the keys from his hand and marched around to the drivers side. You were fired up right now and not wanting to listen to any excuses from him. “Get in the fucking car.” You barked. The ride home was silent. No talking, no radio, nothing. You pulled into the garage and killed the engine. “I could’ve handled that.”
“Really? Because it seems like you were just taking it.” Bakugo huffed and gave you a pissed off look.
“Who says I didn’t want him to do that?” You yelled.
“Oh yeah, because you wanted some random pervert to come feel up on you. Whatever.” He got out of the car and slammed the door. You did the same and stormed up to him.
“Katsuki Bakugo! Look at me!” The blonde spun around fiery red eyes boring into you. “First off I could’ve fucking handled that, I was saying something before you interrupted. Second off what if that guy fucking sues you? This isn’t like that one punch fiasco last month, you beat the ever loving shit out of that guy! That could kill your career and-“
“Would you shut the fuck up already!” He yelled. You flinched from how loud his voice was, Bakugo has never yelled at you in the many years you’ve known him. “I don’t care about that right now! He had been messing with other women all night long, harassing them to no end. So when I saw him with you,” He paused and looked at you. His eyes had already softened from the sharp, hateful gaze they were just a moment ago. “All night I watched him to make sure he didn’t go near you. The one time I looked away he was all over you and I couldn’t stand it!”
“Kats-“
“You have no clue do you?” You gave him a confused look. He shook his head, “Nevermind.” He began walking away but you reached out and grabbed his hand.
“Katsuki,” you said softly, “Let me patch you up please. Your knuckles are busted.” He let out a sigh and nodded. You took the lead and kept a hold of his hand until you got to the kitchen. He sat in the chair while you got the first aid kit from under the sink. You sank to your knees in front of him and started wiping his knuckles with the alcohol wipes. He hisses at the stinging but doesn’t flinch away. You begin wrapping the bandage when he says something that shocks you.
“This isn’t how I pictured you on your knees for me.”

Reignited Flame-Steddie
TW: Violence, brief mention of Homophobia, swearing
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eddie fell hard, he knew that. He watched as the man he loved went after the girls at his school, getting whoever he pleased. Eddie knew, deep down, that these girls were just flings. Steve Harrington had girlfriends, but they were never serious, never permanent. He thought that maybe he still had a chance.
Steve had just gotten out of a relationship, immediately he was shrugging it off, laughing happily with his friends.
Eddie knew he was being naïve but how could he care when he was so damn excited? He wore his uncle’s old leather jacket for confidence, put on his jeans with the least holes, and even straightened his shoulder-length curls, all in the hope of Steve, King Steve, finally taking an interest.
He asked his uncle for help, all the questions he could think of. “What’d you like most when someone approached you?” “Did you ever get uncomfortable by things they did?” “What did you avoid?” “What should I be prepared for?"
Wayne truly loved the kid but sometimes he just needed to calm down. He explained that Eddie didn’t need advice, because if this guy was worth it, he could be himself.
With this advice, Eddie practiced guitar to cool off and left for school.
His uncle’s jacket made him feel invincible. He was prepared to finally, finally, talk to Steve.
He walked through the doors, putting on his best smile, optimistic and prepared for anything, except when he rounded that corner where he knew Steve would be, he froze.
There leaning against the wall was Steve with Nancy Wheeler on his arm.
He could feel his body go ridged, his heart breaking in his chest because this time Steve was looking at her like she was the only person in the entire world.
Eddie left school.
Sure, his dad was an asshole, and his mom was dead, but he thought that there was still good in the world. He thought that he had a chance at happiness.
The year passed in a blur, pot and booze his only comfort. He kept the jacket, eventually getting an awesome denim vest. He grew his hair, embraced his curls, and finally gave up on hiding his interests.
Steve and Nancy broke up and for a second, he thought that maybe, maybe, that little hope of love was flickering alive, he quickly decided to stomp out that flame.
Eddie almost felt bad for the fallen king of Hawkins High, after the new king (some dude named Billy) came into the role. Steve seemed lost, lonely even, but Eddie was not going to let “King Steve” hurt him again.
Billy had a thing against freaks, everyone knew he didn’t like different. Eddie basically had a target on his back.
The hit came unexpectedly, A mix between metal and flesh. A man and a locker. He puts his hands up to guard his face as best as he can but it’s really no use. The slurs hit his face and hands dig through his pockets.
He felt disgusting, refusing to cry, but he felt his breaking point approaching quickly as Billy brought his fist up.
Eddie shut his eyes, prepared to accept his fate, but suddenly the weight of the man was off him and he was being pulled away.
He opened his eyes to see Steve, his Steve, dragging him out of the building as fast as he could.
Steve practically threw him into the passenger seat of his BMW as he ran to the other side.
Eddie was in shock as they sped away.
“You ok? He didn’t hit you, did he?” Steve asks.
Eddie shakes his head.
“No, No I’m ok. Thanks for…for saving my ass back there,” he replies.
Steve nods.
“Well, if there’s one thing, I hate more than anything, it’s Billy. He’s…He is a prick so just stay away from him, alright?” Steve says.
“Alright, yeah. Thanks again.” Eddie says quickly.
They rode in silence for a while, Steve taking the long way back to the school just in case.
“You run the D&D group, Hellfire? It’s Eddie, right?” Steve asks.
Eddie smiles and nods, “That’s me!”
Steve smiles, “I got this middle schooler who’s a friend of mine, if you happen to still be there next year you should talk to him, the kid loves that stuff!”
Eddie chuckles, “I might just take you up on that Mr. King.”
Steve shakes his head, “Don’t call me that, I’m not that guy anymore.”
Eddie nods.
They drive for hours; Eddie can feel that familiar flame of an old crush burning in his chest. He’s surprised that Steve hadn’t dropped him off sooner, but as Eddie drives himself home in his rickety old van, his cheeks heat up at the thought of Steve Harrington.
