boyfriend!steve harrington loves wrapping his hand around your throat; loves that you trust him to do that, want him to do that. he also loves feeling the chain of the necklace he gave you with an ‘s’ pendant when he chokes you. squeezes your cheeks together with one hand when he wants you to speak up, mocking your cute little pout— that’s bordering on bratty, your eyes teary, going all shy before he wipes your eyes. your stevie knows you have a hand kink for his hand only. and uses it to his advantage. but when you reach for his hand, press a soft kiss to his knuckles or his palm, and then guides his hand to your throat? not even always in a sexual setting, sometimes just as a comfort. just to know he’s got you, you’re his, he’s here. he’s yours too. yeah, then it’s his turn to melt.

“Can I have a ride to school?” Dustin asked as you slid into the seat next to him running a bit behind this morning. You’d taken a little extra time to make sure you looked a little bit nicer than normal. Steve was around. He was always around. And you’d be lying if you didn’t say you had a little crush on him. You and every girl in Hawkins that was.
You quirked your eyes up to him while pouring the remaining orange juice into your glass, “No Harrington this morning?” Asking inquisitively. Steve had been picking Dustin up early the last few days throwing you out of your normal rhythm with the middle schooler.
He shook his head quickly, “No, we finished that project.” He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Rolling your eyes, you put the bacon and eggs your mom had made up onto your plate in a hurry, “Yeah, sure. Not like I have to go anywhere else.” You snickered knowing Dustin had to walk down the hill to the middle school, you couldn’t be bothered to drop him off then park.
Your mom sighed gathering the attention of both you and your brother, “I’m glad you’re driving him again, Y/N.” She smiled at you giving your hand a pat.
You frowned almost immediately at that comment, “Why? Steve’s perfectly fine at driving him.”
She gave you a tight-lipped smile knowing how you were. You weren’t going to back down from a fight, you never did, “Well, you know what they say.” She chuckled looking at Dustin who simply gave her the same look of confusion.
Shaking your head quickly you deadpanned at her, “I actually don’t mom. Enlighten me, will you?” You snapped back feeling all the irritation bubbling to the surface. Of course, you knew what they said about Steve. He was dumb. He was irresponsible. He would never get out of Hawkins. Blah blah blah. You might’ve believed that in the past but no longer was that the case. After you saw how he treated your younger brother you saw him in an entirely new light. Steve was kind. Steve was sweet. Steve was beyond thoughtful. You were crushing hard on the boy. And you’d done a pretty damn good job at hiding it. Right up until now. You were definitely giving it away now. Dustin’s eyes burning into the side of your head told you so.
She gave another quick, nervous laugh before clearing Dustin’s plate, “He’s just trouble sweetheart.”
“Typical.” You grumbled feeling annoyed as hell by your mother’s dismissal of the sweet man you’d observed over the last few months.
Dustin looked over at you giving you a curious look. You were usually mouthy with your parents but never pushed it too far. This was pushing it beyond what he was used to. And for Steve? He thought that was odd. Especially for you. He’d learned almost everything from you. You were analytical. Smart. Only spoke up when you knew you were right. Why were you defending Steve Harrington so boldly?
“What’s that honey?” She asked turning back to the two of you.
“You of all people shouldn’t believe the gossip. Thought you told us not to judge a book by its cover mother?” Refusing to look at either of them you decided on staring at the plate in front of you.
Her nervous smile gave it all away, “Sure. Now, off you go. Don’t want to be late to school now do we kids?”
You frowned annoyed as hell by the utter dismissal of the conversation. Oh, so typical. Rolling your eyes, you stood not even attempting to clear your plate, “Come on Dusty. We’ve got some learning to do.” You didn’t wait before grabbing your backpack and keys and walking out the front door without so much as a goodbye. Dustin followed quickly yelling a goodbye leaving a very quiet house for a very mouthy woman to deal with.
When Dustin jumped into the passenger seat of your old sedan you looked over at him. He was giving you the weirdest look. Studying you, “What?” You asked deciding to do your seatbelt instead of looking at him. You couldn’t look at him. No, that’d actually give you away.
“What was that about?” He asked not deciding to hold it back.
“What was what about?” You played dumb. It was so much easier. So, so much easier than explaining a stupid little crush that’d go absolutely nowhere.
He shook his head leaning back into the seat, “Steve? You’ve never mentioned his name before. Now you’re yelling at mom over breakfast about him? Thanks for that by the way.” He smiled knowing you’d always have his back.
You shrugged while backing out of the driveway, “I don’t know… You like him. He fills a gap I can’t fill. So why shouldn’t I defend him?” Trying to play it off you were thankful you had a reason to keep your eyes forward and on the road.
He nodded his head not fully believing you as his eyes narrowed in on you, observing you, “Sure, Y/N. That’s all.”
You nod quickly not daring to look over at your overly observant brother. Weren’t boys supposed to be clueless? Why was every single one of them clueless except Dustin? Of course, your brother wasn’t defective like a majority of the male population, “Yup. That’s all Dustin.”
The rest of the ride was nearly silent as Dustin sat there staring at you. He wasn’t going to give it up and neither were you. So, silence it was. When you parked the car in the lot you turned to him, “Not a word is mentioned of this morning to him. Do you need a ride home?”
Dustin smirked. The little fucker smirked. He unbuckled his seat belt and gave you the biggest grin, “Can’t guarantee that and nope. Steve is driving me home. We’re doing some investigating after school.”
You shook your head, “For once. Keep your big mouth shut. What are you even investigating? It’s Hawkins.” Giving him a curious glance, you stepped out of the worn-down vehicle trying not to be too late to class.
He jumped out of the car mimicking your actions, “Again, can’t guarantee that dear sister. And exactly. It’s Hawkins, there’s lots to investigate.” He grabbed his backpack before turning off to head down towards the middle school, “I’ll be back late, let mom know.” He waved knowing it was best to not give you the last word. Whatever. You’d cover for him like you always did. Steve was good for him. Just like Mike, Lucas and Will. It was never lost on you how you were always a touch jealous of your younger brothers ability to make true friendships. You’d only had one true friend. Thankfully, she was in most of your classes. You’d have gone insane have to deal with this whole high school thing alone.
As Steve got to know Dustin more you got to know him a little better too. It got under your skin how everybody so casually called him dumb or stupid. He was neither. He just played a part. A part you were easily able to see behind. He was his true authentic self around your brother, at your house. You’d caught him talking nerdy with your brother and asking questions somebody dumb would never. Steve was a master at his craft. An illusionist who needed to be the center of attention. For the life of you, you couldn’t figure that part of him out. For that you’d have to have a real-life conversation. One you often shied away from. Little did you know Steve was determined to get that conversation out of you, Dustin’s far too shy older sister. The girl he’d been crushing on since his split with Nancy.
He knew he was a goner the first time he really saw the real you. You were arguing with your mom, something he’d learned was commonplace in your household. He was amazed by your ability to express your words. You so flawlessly got your point across in a way he’d never seen. You were in his classes, but he’d never really seen you before. You were beautiful. Especially once your younger brother talked you up without even realizing it. He’d started to fall for you without even having a proper conversation. He wasn’t going to give up though. He wasn’t planning on going to Dustin, but he was starting to run through all his options. Every time he tried to dive in a little bit deeper you gave him that deer in headlights look. A look of knowing he was pushing the boundaries a little too hard. He’d back off. But then he got absolutely nowhere with you. Until you started coming to him for little things. You’d ask him a math question, one you’d obviously know the answer too, but one you knew he knew the answer to as well. Something to boost his confidence. For even you knew he heard the snide remarks about his intelligence. He was human too.
In English you’d ask him a silly grammar rule. In Phys Ed you asked him how to correctly shoot the basketball even though you’d been taught a thousand times over by Dustin and his know-it-all friends. In Spanish you’d ask him a simple question, beaming with pride when he answered back correctly. Little by little you tried to help him in the smallest of ways.
He was doomed, doomed from your sweetness. You’d taken his heart without the simplest of clues to doing so. He was trying to give you all the signs, the signs that showed he was incredibly interested in everything you had to offer. But you were clueless. Absolutely clueless to it all. For as smart as you are you were oblivious to him right in front of you. If he couldn’t figure it out soon he’d have to go to Dustin to get to you. He’d gotten the sense that only Dustin could talk some reason into you.
You’d been a pro at avoiding Steve at school that day. He hadn’t a clue as to why you were being so elusive. You were far too aware of your feelings to even try and approach a semi-normal conversation with the man. Avoiding him was your best option.
“You’re acting weird Y/N.” Kelly, your best friend, said as she spotted your eyes darting the cafeteria at lunch, “Been acting weird all day.”
“No, I haven’t Kel.” Speaking back in an instant you turned your full attention back to her.
A smirk that was eerily similar to Dustin’s danced on her lips as she watched you. Everybody seemed keen on your actions today, “In fact, you’ve been acting a little off ever since a certain Harrington has become friends with your very own brother. Peculiar.”
You rolled your eyes rather dramatically at your friend, “Look at you, jumping to conclusions.”
“You’ve been avoiding him all day Y/N.” She said matter of factly.
Shaking your head, “No…”
“You literally made Mandy trade seats with you in Chemistry today. I don’t want to hear it.” She cut you off.
“You’re annoying.” You sighed.
“And you’re being avoidant. The usual hey?” She grinned knowing she had you there. This was totally your style.
“Whatever Kelly.” Looking away your eyes went wide seeing Steve and his very own best friend, Robin, walking your way, “Gotta go talk to Mrs. Pace about my grade. I’ll see you later?” You stood quickly and ran off before she could even reply. When you turned back you saw the three of them conversing, talking about who knows what. You. They were talking about you.
Tumblr media
When you heard the front door open and close you’d assumed Dustin was alone. Your parents were out for a dinner date with another couple they’d been friends for years with. Being miserably bored you were thrilled when you’d heard him come home. Having somebody to annoy made you far too giddy.
“There you are!” Yelling from the top of the stairs you skidded to a complete stop seeing not only your brother but his much taller and much more handsome friend standing in the kitchen with him.
All too pleased with himself he gave you a head nod, “Y/N. Steve’s going to stay for dinner.” He didn’t ask, he stated.
“Sure, I’ll just be up in my room…”
He cut you off grabbing at your arm, “No, I know you haven’t eaten. Sit.” He sounded weirdly like your father.
“I already…” You tried but again he cut you off.
“No, you haven’t. The plate is untouched. Your water is still at the table. Sit.” He pointed to your usual chair. He had you there. He was too damn observant. Only Dustin.
You glared at him but sat down next to Steve who looked all too happy to be sitting there with the two of you. Not even you could lie, he was damn adorable sitting there kicking his feet watching the two siblings bicker back and forth.
Dustin set down two plates in front of you and Steve, “I just remembered. I was supposed to call Mike at 7! We’re supposed to be doing Mr. Ryan’s homework.” He rambled before running off upstairs.
“Dustin?” You called feeling a growing irritation for your meddling younger brother. The little shit just left you to fend for yourself with Steve fucking Harrington? What the fuck?
“Kids a trip.” Steve smiled over at you hoping it’d calm your nerves a bit. He knew you were nervous for some reason. He was anything but intimidating, or so he thought.
Your face broke into a grin knowing his motives. He was a trip, that one was for sure, “You could say that again.” Defeated, you grabbed at your fork knowing you couldn’t really just leave him sitting in your kitchen. Dustin would quite literally kick your ass if you did that.
He nodded his head in agreement, “Your brother is pretty great too. Never thought I’d enjoy spending so much time with a literal kid.” He snickered knowing the optics of the situation were less than stellar.
Finally, you looked at him. And Jesus, was he stunning. It wasn’t fair. He was so damn attractive and then he was so damn kind? Dustin was setting you up, “He get it from somewhere.” You agreed with him while nodding your head.
Steve’s smile grew even wider as he let out a hearty laugh, “He told me you were funny.”
Eyebrows raised you replied, “He did?”
“Yup.” He scooted a tad closer to you. All too thrilled you were finally entertaining a conversation with him, “He says a lot of good things about you.”
Without even realizing it you bit your lip slightly. A little habit Steve had noticed in school as he watched you a bit closer this year. It happened when you were thinking. When your mind was reeling, “Dusty’s the sweetest younger brother. I’m lucky.”
“Well, he’s got a pretty great older sister he watches all the time.” Steve said so casually you weren’t positive if you were hearing
Your eyes snapped back over to his suddenly very aware of why you avoided these conversations. Your cheeks were absolutely ablaze feeling like you could cook an egg off your face it was so hot, “
He smirked, “What? No comeback? He says your infamous for those. And I’d tend to agree. You schooled Mr. Clark the other day.”
Biting back a smile you rolled your eyes, “Dustin has a lot of opinions about me, hmm?”
He leaned forward feeling brazen, “You’re right. Enough about him. More about you.” His chair scooted just a bit closer. He was bold, you gave him that.
“Me?” Your face had to be as red as a tomato now.
“You heard me.”
Trying to be just a bit brave you continued, “Well, what about me?”
His chair inched ever so much closer. Your heart was racing at an uncomfortable pace as he opened his mouth, “Tell me something about you sweetheart.”
Sweetheart? Sweetheart. Damn, that made your already racing heart explode, “What do you wanna know?” It was a whisper. God, you were pathetic. He made you pathetic. A pathetic bumbling mess, “I hate chicken nuggets. I think they’re disgusting.” You said the first thing that came to your thoughtless mind.
He didn’t give you any time to be embarrassed though. He let out a snort before full on laughing, “Chicken nuggets? Really?”
You nodded quickly defending yourself, “I just… I just don’t think chicken should come that way. Not natural.”
He snickered shaking his head but moving his chair even closer. He was almost on top of you now. Surly, he could hear your racing heart, “You’re a trip too, Henderson.”
“Hopefully you mean that in a good way.”
His smile should’ve given you the hint. But you were clueless. Absolutely clueless, “In the best way.”
The two of you were so into the moment you didn’t hear the younger version of you walk down the stairs. To be fair, it had been twenty minutes. He’d just been sitting in his room bored to death and couldn’t take it anymore. So, he walked down the steps. When he walked into the kitchen he’d expected to find the two of you bickering. Just like he and Steve did. But he found the opposite. The two of you… enamored with each other?
He couldn’t hide the small smile creeping up on his lips. He’d all but gotten a confession out of Steve that he liked you. And he wasn’t dumb, you liked him. So, this was meant to happen, right? Plus, if the two of you were together then Steve would be over all the time. A win, win.
But he was bored, your love could blossom another time, “What’d I miss?” He spoke up. You nearly jumped from your seat. Steve scooted away in a hurry.
“Dustin!” You whisper shouted, startled by his sudden presence.
“Son of a…” Steve muttered while glaring at the younger boy.
Dustin gave him a devious smirk, “What was that Steve?”
Tumblr media
“He likes you; you know.” Robin set her bag down next to yours on the ground. She plopped down in the seat next to you in the wide-open library.
You looked up from the homework you were working on, “Hmm?”
“Steve. He likes you. Hard.”
Shaking your head, you decided on giving her your full attention, “No, no he doesn’t. I think I’d notice if he liked me.”
She snorted lightly, “You’re adorable. Adorably clueless. He likes you Henderson.”
“Then he’ll tell me himself.” You said so assuredly you weren’t expecting her reply.
“You’re right. He will.” And before you could reply Robin was off as soon as she had sat down.
Before you could focus back on your homework and ignore the weird interaction with the girl you’d come to adore from afar somebody else was in the seat she had just occupied.
When you looked up and spotted him your weak little heart started racing once more, “Steve, what’re you doing here?”
“Here to tell you something.” He smiled leaning back in the chair.
Robin? Robin was written all over this. He couldn’t actually like you. It was more of a thing to say to get her to shut the hell up. But now… now Steve might actually admit something.
“What’s that?”
He kept quiet until you looked up at him. He smiled gently at you. Trying his darndest not to freak you out, “That I like you.”
“You like me?” You asked back so quickly he was sure you hadn’t really processed it.
“Yes,” He nodded quickly, “I like you. A lot.”
“Me?”
He grabbed at your hand, “You.”
“You’re sure?” You couldn’t believe him. No. Not until he confirmed it at least twenty times.
“Positive.” He gave your hand a squeeze trying his best to keep you grounded in reality. Not stuck in that pretty little head of yours.
“Oh.” You’d finally processed his words. He liked you. Damn, he liked you?
“Hopefully that’s a good, oh.” He mirrored your words from earlier on in the week.
A small smile came to your lips, “Yeah, it is… but…” You paused not sure how to ask the question that was itching at the back of your head.
“But?”
“But you’ve never seemed interested.”
He let out a quiet laugh, “Robin was right, you are adorably clueless.”
You gave him a fake pout, “Hey now.”
He shook his head, “I didn’t say it wasn’t cute. It’s adorable. You’re adorable sweetheart.” He grabbed at your other hand, holding both of your much smaller hands in his.
“Hey Steve?” You said after a moment of silence.
“Yeah?”
“I like you too. I like you a lot.” You bobbed your head up and down.
“Tell me then, what do you say? We’ve got a problem and I’ve got a solution. I’m taking you out Friday evening. On a proper date.” Steve proposed looking all too hopefully at you.
You grinned, “I think that sounds like a great plan.”
He let out a small sigh of relief, “Finally, it’s a date my dear.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down.” You heard Nancy as you looked up from where you were helping to paddle the dingy. “Slow down guys—” the compass in her hand franticly searching for north and south baring’s. Ever so surely losing its mind. It was Steve taking his shoes and socks off beside you that brought you out of the trance like state you’d fallen into watching Dustin’s compass go haywire.
“Somebody’s gotta go down and check this out—” Steve sent you a firm but loving look. “Unless one of you four can top being a Hawkins High swim co-captain and a certified lifeguard for three years, then, it’s gotta be me.” Steve looked back at you with a sure of himself smile that had your heart threatening to burst inside your chest. “No complaints, all right?”
“Hey, I’m not complaining, I did not wanna go down there—” you shot a look at Eddie as if to say shut up man, now’s not the time.
You and Steve were friendly, a little too friendly to be just friends. You’d met him around the time scoops opened at the stair court mall. You worked at Waldenbooks and scoops was a perfect treat, for more than just the ice-cream.
Steve and you quickly sparked a friendship, a friendship that slowly but surely turned into something more with stolen kisses and lingering hands that brought goosebumps to the surface of your skin. But instead for spending the night wrapped in Steve’s warm embrace here you were, watching the man you loved endlessly dive headfirst into Lovers Lake. It could be worse you reminded yourself—it could be the Russians.
“You gotta cool it sister, chin up or you’ll catch flies.” Robin caught your gaze lingering on Steve, she saw the way the light reflected off every muscle, for once Steve looked like a Greek god who walked amongst then men of gods green earth. It wasn’t hard to understand the physical attraction you had to Steve, nor was it hard to understand the attraction to his kindness. You chuckled slightly as you bumped into her side, releasing a sigh—you couldn’t remember the last time you’d taken a breath of fresh air. “it’s Steve, he’ll be fine.”
“Here, good luck.” You watched as Eddie passed Steve the flashlight wrapped in a plastic bag.
“Hey Steve.” You reached out foe Steve’s hand, catching his attention. “Please be careful.” You pleaded. It was the soft kiss that came down against your forehead and the softness of his fingertips that brushed against your cheek that that your heat beating just a little faster than it already was. Closing your eyes to savour the feeling of his beloved touch. Simple and fleeting. With a quick glance your way, a soft smirk of reassurance, Steve was gone with a splash that lapped away at the sides of the dingy.
“I didn’t know you and Harrington where a thing.” Eddie smirked as you tried to settle the heat that pooled at your cheeks.
“We aren’t, I mean, I don’t know what we are, I guess its complicated.” You shrugged as Eddie tried to light a cigarette. Robin grabbing it from between his lips before he could.
“there’s nothing complicated about what I just bore witness to.” Eddie teased, easing a chuckle from you that echoed of the sides of the dingy.
“Where we at Wheeler?” Robin asked as she watched the water for Steve’s return.
“Closing in on a minute.” As you nodded softly with panic rising in your chest and Eddie cleared his throat, water gushed loudly a Steve burst to the surface with a gasp for much needed oxygen.
“Oh Christ Steve!” you hissed, jumping to the side of the dingy where Steve had latched on to the side. Your hands cupping his as you leaned over to smooth the hair from his face. “don’t do that you—”
“I found it!” he interrupted you.
“You found it?” Nancy asked, just to be sure she heard Steve right. Nodding as his thumb played nonchalantly with yours, Steve repeated himself.
“Uh-Huh, I found it, it’s pretty wild, it’s more of a snack size gate then the mama gate but still, it’s pretty dam big.” You felt Steve’s grip slip from the side for the dingy before he caught himself. Fear rose quickly once again in the back of your throat. Locking eyes with Steve as he tried to reassure you he was okay, but before he could speak, he was gone, dragged under the water as screamed echoed around you from Nancy, Robin and Eddie.
“Steve?” if felt like broken glass scratching down your throat. The tears that instantly welled in your eyes as you dug into the water searching for any sign of Steve. “Steve? Steve, Steve—” with Eddie, Nancy and Robin all clambering around behind you, it was only a matter of time before you through caution to the wind and leapt in behind Steve. Removing items of clothing as you stood, your coat, your shoes, your soaks.
“What the hell was that man!?” Eddie hissed.
“Nancy, really, what happened?” Robin cried.
“Jesus—” Eddie proclaimed as he tried to regulate the panic in his chest. You remained silent, undressing the unwanted weight you didn’t want to hold you back. Every second that passed was a second too long you didn’t have Steve here. Climbing back over to the edge of the dingy, Eddie’s hand wrapped tightly around your wrist. “Wait, whoa, you’re not going in there, are you?”
“Just wait here—” you assured him to remain in the dingy. Don’t be stupid like you, like Steve.
“NO!—” Robin screamed as you dived over the edge, digging deep as you held your breath and kicked with all your might. You could just see Steve being sucked into the water gate. The bright red of its entrance all but inviting. Casted away amongst the decaying ecosystem of Lover’s Lake. Maybe Steve was right though, maybe he was the only one who could do this, because as you swam deeper and deeper into what felt like the Mariana trench, your lung began to burn. The water itself cold as ice, with every inch of strength you had you kept swimming towards the water gate, the red glow only growing stronger as you paused to figure out how in the world you even got through, but it was the screams of Steve in pain that had you swimming headfirst into the unknown. Pushing past a thin layer of goop before you were falling upside down and onto your back with a thud.
At first you couldn’t quite make out what exactly it was attacking Steve, but soon enough you realised. Bats. Scrambling to your feet you screamed as you ran, picking up a stick along the way.
“Get off him!” you hissed as you took the stick to the bats that gnawed away at the flesh along Steve’s torso. “Get off him!” you repeated as you swung in every direction possible. Shooshing the possible rabies infested bats away from Steve as he flayed about in what could only be described as agony. Teeth marks littering his torso with no rhyme or reason. Blood oozing as his airways became almost too constricted for him to breathe at all as you drove your stick into the bat that had its tail wrapped around his throat. “I said, GET OFF!” with one final blow, the bat that had Steve by the throat released him as you dropped to your knees beside him. “Steve!”
“Fuck! I’m okay, I’m okay—” Steve coughed as he sat up. Catching his breath as he drew you in close for a hug. His head falling to your shoulder like a perfect puzzle piece. “I’m okay—” his arm wrapping around your waist.
“Are you sure you’re okay--?” you looked Steve over as you helped him to his feet, stammering slightly from the pain radiating from his torso. Assessing the damage, Steve signed.
“Well, they only took about a pound of flesh, but other than that, yeah never better.” Steve smirked softly as he reached out to dust the dirt from your cheek with his thumb, caressing your check as you shared the small moment. “What are you doing following me down here—” Steve cooed. “I don’t want you getting hurt.”
“Someone had to, I don’t think Eddie was going anywhere anytime soon.” You chuckled, looking into Steve’s eyes as you leaned in the ghost his bloodied lips. “No complains though, right?” you teased. Feeling Steve trail his fingertips up your spine as he leaned in to kiss the bridge of your nose.
“Well, let’s figure a way out of here before—” it had to have been a jynx. Before Steve could finish his sentence you felt an immense around of pressure wrap around your throat and drag you down towards the ground. Smacking you harshly against the dirt and away from Steve as it dragged you mercilessly. Clawing and scrapping at the tail only tightened its grip as your croaked out a pained cry for help.
“Steve!!”
“I’m coming!” Steve shouted as the others dropped into the upside down, first Nancy, then Robin shortly after, and by the timing you could tell Eddie had hesitated the most. Go figure. “Shit—” Steve hissed as he grabbed a nearby ore, doing the same as what you did for him. “Don’t do this to me c’mon—” as more and more bats descended around you and Steve, the others found their way to you to help. Trying their best to help you as bats dug their way into your flesh. All over your arms, your torso, your legs.
“Steve this isn’t working!” Robin screamed as she watched you almost disappear under a sea of bats. “This isn’t working!” As Steve’s tried everything, he could to get you out from the bats grasp, he swore he’d replay your screaming forever. The way you looked at him for help knowing he could only do his best and in this very moment knowing that wasn’t enough would haunt him. Almost loosing you.
“This isn’t how I lose you—” Steve mumbled as he smashed the ore into bat after bat after bat. “This isn’t how I lose you—” he kept repeated to himself as the ground shook violently underneath you, the bats lifting you high into the sky in fear of what was coming before subsequently dropping you, fear overcoming them as they flew away in their group. It was the way Steve cried your name out as you hit the ground with a thud and a grown.
“Hey, hey hey hey hey—stay with me hu? You’re alright yeah? Hey—answer me.” Steve begged as he watched over you, right by your side as he looked over your wounds, 10 times worse than his own.
“I’m—I’m okay.” You coughed through blood. Slowly but surely sitting up as Steve cupped your face. Your cheeks hot to the touch. “I’m o—“
“You’re bleeding, badly.” Steve sighed. Nancy had been working to make bandages out of her shirt, handing down the strips to Steve as you groaned in agony. “Here, don’t move.” Steve gestured that he had to stop the bleeding, lifting your half eaten shirt over your head Steve held back tears that the true extent of your injuries. “Holy shit—“
“No complaints right?” You tried to laugh the pain off but laughing only made it worse.
“We gotta  get you out here, you need a doctor, now.” Steve scrambled to his feet, helping you stand as you stumbled back down. Too weak, too exhausted to stand let alone walk. “Okay new plan.” Steve sighed, groaning as he picked you up, your legs wrapping around his waste as your arms flung around his shoulders. Screaming in pain as Steve cupped the back of your head.
“I’m gonna get you outta where okay—“
“We can’t go back the way we came, look.” Robin grabbed everyone’s attention. Turning to see the bats coming back towards you.
“The forest. Nancy began to run, Steve looked at Eddie for reassurance before taking off. Your head lulling as you fort off unconsciousness from the lack of blood circulating your body.
“I got you, okay?” Steve cooed. “I got you, you’re okay, I got you.” Steve had never been so afraid in his life. Loosing you would mean losing himself. He should have kept you safe. “I’ve got you.”
“I love you—“ three simple yet powerful words escaped your bloodied mouth, echoing in Steve’s ear as he carried you to a safer place. He didn’t say it back though, not sure if it was delusion or reality.
“She’s not doing too well is she dude.” Eddie asked as you all worked through the upside-down forest. “How are we gonna get outta here.”
“I dunno but we have to, I never should have let her into this mess, it’s too dangerous.” Steve’s sighed.
“Which is exactly why I never would have jumped in that lake to save your ass.” Eddie explained. “Not under any, uh, normal circumstances.” Listening to branches snap as you slumped over Steve’s shoulder half unconscious half there, half-awake enough to hear Eddie and Steve’s conversation. “Nope, outside of D&D I am no hero, I see danger and I just turn heel and run.” Eddie turned to look at the blood that soaked through the makeshift bandages Steve had wrapped your torso in to match his own. Drip by Nancy. “Or at least that’s what I’ve learned about myself this week—”
“Give yourself a break man—” Steve interrupted as Eddie stopped him in his tracks.
“See, the only reason I came in here was cause of those ladies, more specifically Y/n.” Eddie couldn’t help the monologue pouring out of him as he watched your head lull into Steve’s neck. “She came in straight after you, now I was too ashamed to be the one who stayed behind, but Y/n? she didn’t waste a second. Not one second Harrington, she just dove right in.” Eddie paused as he watched Steve shift you slightly. His arms weak from the bat bites. Eddie gesturing for Steve to hand you over so he could have a moment of reprieve, to regain his strength. But he wouldn’t dare let you go, no.
“I’m good man, thanks.” Steve signed as he kissed your cheek, yep, still warm.
“Look, I don’t know what’s going on between you two or for how long it’s been going on for, but if I were you, I would do whatever I could to make It know that you love her just as much as she loves you, cause that? What Y/L/N did? Was as unambiguous a sign of true love that these cynical eyes have ever seen.”
Steve felt you’re entire weight bare down on him, sending him to his knees with what little strength he had left not enough to hold you. Your eyes closed softly as your head lulled every which way gravity would allow it.
“No god no please no—hey, Y/n, you gotta stay with me yeah?” Steve gently tapped your cheeks as he laid you down in between his legs. “C’mon baby don’t do this to me, I love you.” To broke Steve to see you like this, in such a state. “Too much, way too much to let you go, stay with me.” It was as if the light had faded, turning you back the way you came at the sound of Steve’s voice. “Please—“
“We need to get out of here.” You mumbled, shivering as you coughed. Trying your best to sit up.
“If you promise to stay awake, I’ll get you outta here, I promise.” Steve kissed your lips softly, scared he wouldn’t get another chance to. He knew the risks. “I’ll get you outta here.”
“Deal.” Knowing the odds of your survival, you pitted yourself, nodding slowly as Steve’s helped you to your feet and once again, only this time—Eddie offered to carry you, allowing Steve to regain his strength beside you. “Deal, Harrington.”

steve doing everything he can to get you ready for him, being completely entranced by the pleasure on your face, making you cum on his mouth at least twice before he even thinks about the bulge in his boxers, and he gets addicted to your taste. imagine him trying to keep his whines and whimpers to himself, ‘cause he wants to hear yours instead and he doesn’t want to give away just how affected by you he already is. he always is. but once he gets his cock in you, just the tip even, he breaks. gods, that boy is unable to stay quiet— dirty talks like it’s his job, he moans and groans and grips you so tight. finger-shaped bruises on your hips for sure. steve’s weight presses you down, his massive frame absolutely fucking covers you, he gives you hickeys all over. you bite him. his shoulders, and his biceps, and his jaw, and his neck, and his fingers that are intertwined with your left hand. both of you just lose yourselves in the other. steve’s big, so he doesn’t give you every inch though you beg him to, and hearing that makes his arms shake and he just has to press his entire body to yours, fucking you into the fucking mattress, wrapping his other hand around your hair, around your throat, your perfectly sweet noises getting him closer to the edge a lot quicker than he’d like.
and he knows he’s never getting enough of you.

Summary: Request - Steve Harrington x Reader based on Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes😩 I used to LOVE that song when i was younger, and now it just reminds me of my boy stevee💙
A/N: Loved writing these even though men suck (sometimes!!). Thank you for the request @marennnx. This is a 3x1 - or the three times your boyfriend treated you like crap and the one time he did something about it!
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Female Reader
Word Count: 3.7k +
T/W: Dismissive boyfriend, absent boyfriend, gaslighting
Tumblr media
Steve Harrington had been a constant in your life as you grew up in the small town of Hawkins. You’d moved in next to the Harrington’s when you were just six and became fast friends with the neighbor boy, Steve. The two of you became fast friends as there was no other six- or seven-years old’s in the neighborhood close to you. You’d quite literally been there for each and every single first for the other. You’d learned and grew through life with Steve right by your side.
For the first time in your lives things got a little strained when he started dating Nancy. Not that you didn’t like her, she was lovely. It’s that Steve did that stereotypical thing and kind of forgot about you for a while. Tired of being bored around your house you too started going out and doing things with your other friends. It was fun, you enjoyed yourself. You still wished you were doing it all with Steve though.
Then you met Derek. You’d seen him around Hawkins High but never actually met. Not until the summer Steve had ditched you. That was almost a year ago now. Steve and Nancy had long since broken up. You and Derek were still hanging on, albeit by a thread, as all of you were heading into your junior year. It dawned on you that you were going to have to start looking at school soon if you really wanted to get the hell out of Hawkins like you and Steve always talked about.
Things never really got back to normal between you and Steve after it was all settled. The two of you talked and hung out more but you attention usually went towards trying to save the failing relationship between you and Derek. You were truly miserable, but you didn’t let a soul know, not even you mom who you usually told everything. It was almost embarrassing admitting it at this point with how much you’d been faking your happiness. Derek also didn’t like you hanging around with Steve. He was jealous of course so you tried to keep it to a minimum or as hush hush as you could.
That was how you got to the semi-awkward place between you and your best friend. The two of you stealing longing glances but neither having the courage to broach the growing tension between the two of you.
Tumblr media
The Bonfire
It was the Friday before school started the next Monday. You’d arrived with Derek, pulling him along to find some seats. It was the annual class tradition since you’d been in eighth grade to have a class wide bonfire before school actually began again. You, of course, had to drag your reluctant boyfriend along with you to the event. That should’ve given you the wherewithal to understand where his attitude would be for the night.
But you ignored it as best as you could. Press on and have fun. Don’t let the stupid boy ruin your fun night. You knew you were pushing it when you found some seats next to Steve. When you stopped in front of him your boyfriend groaned in annoyance. Ignoring him you turned to Steve, “These seats taken?”
He shook his head quickly with a small smile on his face. It wasn’t usual for you to come around let alone with your shit head of a boyfriend in tow. He was missing you more than you even knew. He knew he messed up by nearly dropping you for Nancy completely a year ago. This was his karma, and he was taking it.
He shook his head, “Nope.”
“Come on babe, let’s go get some drinks.” He tried tugging at your hand this time, but you just shook your head instead.
“I’m going to stay here and catch up with Steve. I’ll take a drink though when you make it back over.” You gave him a sweet smile though you knew it was no use. He was already pissed, and you surely pissed him off even further by not doing what he wanted. Steve just looked between the two of you before he grumbled something incoherent and walked off.
“He’s a real charmer, that one is.” Steve knew he probably shouldn’t have said that, but he was growing tired of your boyfriends attitude. He didn’t understand how you could put up with it. You were such a light, happy
You gave your friend a soft smile, “He just didn’t feel like coming out tonight. Cut him some slack.” You knew Steve was at his wits end with him. Your family was too. Nobody seemed to like him but you. And you didn’t even really like him all that well. The solution seemed all too clear, but you still didn’t want to give it up just yet. Derek was your first real relationship. The first guy you said ‘I love you’ too even if he wasn’t the first guy you loved.
“You cut him a lot of that, Y/N.” He spoke freely seeing that Derek was still far away at the drinks table. Even though you asked for a drink you had a feeling he wouldn’t make you one. He’d forget or just not do it as some sort of punishment. That wasn’t love. That was manipulation. You felt that all too familiar sinking feeling growing in your stomach as you thought about your situation.
You looked down feeling the weight of his eyes on you, “I know.
He waited a moment seeing the despondent look on your face, “Hey,” He waited to continue until you looked back up to him. When you finally found the courage he continued, “You just deserve so much more than that. Somebody who wants to be with you…”
You shook your head stopping him, “That person doesn’t exist here. So, I’ll just enjoy what I can. Alright?” Your voice snapped at his ever so slightly telling him you were done talking about it.
He knew he shouldn’t have pressed, but you were his very best friend. He cared for you. Wanted the best for you. Loved you so dearly. He hated to see you treated less than how you deserved, “That’s just not true Y/N.”
“Steve.” Your eyes told him to drop it. There was a reason you didn’t tell or show your friends or family about that side of him. It made it pretty obvious how shitty he actually was.
He gave you a quick nod before leaning back in his seat, “Just think about it. Please?” There was a pleading look in his eyes that made you nod in agreement.
“Yeah, I will.”
He stood up from his seat seeing your boyfriend walk back without a drink for you, “I’ll see you around. Remember what I said.” He gave your boyfriend a sharp look before heading to the drink table deciding to get you a drink since your boyfriend had no interest. Steve decided he would show you that somebody did in fact want to treat you right.

The Football Game
You’d messed up and forgot to swap your light jacket for your heavier coat before heading out for the game. It was fine at first, but the temperature was dropping quick. As soon as the sun set behind the bleachers and the Hawking High football game started you began shivering. You tried cozying up to your boyfriend who was none the wiser of your chilly predicament. But he just shrugged you off.
“Babe.” You whined feeling another shiver ripple down your spine. It was getting cold, cold and you were not prepared.
“Shh, Y/N. I told you not to interrupt when they’re playing. I’ve got to watch Josh.” He grumbled pushing you off him. His brother, Josh, was the star wide receiver of the team and he had to watch everything live to report back to his brother. It made you roll your eyes week in and week out. Derek wasn’t good enough to play varsity, but his older brother was. You’d found it a little weird how much he lived through his older brother when it came to football.
Your mouth clamored back and forth, “But I’m cold Der.” It came out whinier than you intended which surely irritated the man further. How dare you inconvenience him when he needed to pay attention.
He sighed, “I told you to put a coat on. Go get a hot chocolate or something.” He didn’t take his eyes off the game and his voice was audibly annoyed with your presence.
“Whatever.” You rolled your eyes in return before heading off to the concession stands. Walking was good. It got your blood flowing. You needed to move to warm up anyway. It’s not like Derek would even throw and arm around you to warm you up.
You were so focused on walking to get your blood flowing you hadn’t even seen that you zoomed right past Steve who decided to follow you out of curiosity. When he saw you shivering and rubbing your hands back and forth to get some heat to them he had enough, “What are you doing out here in just a jacket?” He shrugged off his overly warm coat and handed it to you.
You shook your head in a hurry, “You’ll get cold Steve.”
“I’m fine. You’re not. Take the damn coat.” He shoved it further into your hands not giving you another chance to argue. When you slipped it on the audible sigh that left your mouth made him crack a small smile even though he was awfully worried about you being out in nearly freezing temperatures with a jacket made for the fall.
“Thank you.” You nodded up to him, “I forgot my coat. Derek told me to get a hot chocolate to warm up.” You laughed it off knowing how bad it sounded. Because it was bad. He was terrible. Derek might not have even liked you. Why were you even with him at this point?
Steve’s smile downturned at your comment. He’d made it quite evident how much he didn’t enjoy your boyfriend or his presence, “Some boyfriend he is.” He grumbled knowing it was likely going to set you off. You’d been more than defensive about your relationship. You’d always been like this, but it broke him seeing you so seemingly stuck in a loop. You wanted everything to look perfect, but it wasn’t. But you couldn’t admit it because then you’d have to admit it wasn’t perfect. A loop that he couldn’t pull you out of.
“Steve.” You sighed but knew it was a lost cause, especially because you were wrapped up in his coat. You couldn’t really defend the guy that much anymore. It felt so insulting because the entire relationship seemingly fell apart so quickly, right under your nose. Things were fun in the beginning. The two of you got along well and laughed at a lot of different things. But then it turned sour a few months ago, right after Nancy and Steve broke up. It’s not like anything changed for you. But apparently it did for him. It’s like he was pushing you right into Steve’s arms and you were pretty sure you’d be just fine with that.
He put his hands up in defense, “You know what I’m going to tell you.”
You sighed, “I know. I’m thinking about it. I promise.”
He nodded, “Keep the coat tonight. Drop it off whenever. Take care of yourself okay? Anytime you want to talk I’m all ears. I miss you.”
The floor was suddenly far more interesting than his face. You felt bad that you had in fact been avoiding him like he had you early on in his relationship, “Yeah, I miss you too. I’ll stop by more often. Promise.”
He grinned seeing you look back up to him, “That’s two promises I’m going to hold you too.”
You laughed for the first time that night. Curious it came at the mouth of Steve rather than your boyfriend. Your heart tugged as the two of you joked around like old times without your know-it-all boyfriend there to ruin the moment. You knew the relationship with Derek was doomed when you wanted to follow Steve back to his seat rather than head back to your boyfriend. But you had appearances to keep up. So back to Derek you walked.
Tumblr media
Biology Class
“Alright class settle down. Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for. We’ll be dissecting pig hearts!” Your overenthusiastic Biology teacher stood in front of the curious junior class who had a big mix of emotions. Some were thrilled, that was Derek sitting next to you and Steve a row in front of you with his lab partner. Some were not so thrilled, you.
When the teacher set the heart down in front of you, you let out a big breath moving your chair away. Derek just started laughing like a little kid seeing your reaction to the dead pigs heart in front of you. Shooting him daggers you simply covered your mouth and nose with your hand trying your best not to throw up all over the desk in front of you.
When Derek started cutting you thought you might actually puke. The smell alone was starting to send you over the edge, “I don’t think I can do this.” You mumbled scooting even further away. Taking a quick peak around the room you were surprised almost everyone seemed just fine. Seemingly you only had the weak stomach in this class. You didn’t notice Steve’s eyes watching you with caution. He knew you well and knew this would be a unique kind of challenge for you.
“Ahh, grow up would you Y/N?” Derek rolled his eyes before returning to cut away, “Just plug your nose up if it’s that big of a deal.”
You huffed in annoyance at his complete lack of care, “I’m already doing that Derek.” It was sharper than you intended which of course set him off.
“You’re being a baby about it. Grow up.” He snapped back full out ignoring the look on your face. It was becoming harder and harder to fake your happiness. Especially when he treated you like you were nothing but a nuisance to him. Did he even like you? Why did he want to spend time with you if all he did was get annoyed with you? When was the last time you’d genuinely been happy with him? It’d been months. Months since the last time you giggled with him or smiled from a conversation.
You stood from you seat, “I’m getting some air.”
He just continued on, “Suit yourself.”
You stood quickly before letting the teacher know you needed to get some water. You walked to the water fountain down the hall trying your best not to break down right then and there. How did all this happen? How could you have let it all happen so quickly? When did he start to dip out on the relationship? Why wouldn’t he just breakup with you if he was this unhappy?
“Hey,” Steve’s sweet voice pulled you back into the present, “You okay?”
You nodded quickly trying your best to come off as cool as possible, “Yeah, was thirsty.”
He smiled, “It’s just me. You don’t have to lie.”
A frown formed from that. It was just Steve. Why did this all feel so weird and awkward and so far out of your control all the sudden? All you wanted to do was scream and beat on the wall in frustration of how you felt at the state of your life. But you knew better than that. Especially at school.
“I couldn’t take the smell.” You admitted to the boy who cared more to check up on you than the one who supposedly loved you sitting in the classroom. The more you thought of it the more Steve seemed to be the one who cared for you. And you knew he did. But with all that he had done for you and the lack thereof what Derek had made you realize how backwards it all was. You were meant to be with Steve not Derek. Steve cared. Steve loved you. Steve wanted you and put in the effort to be with you. And for some reason you still called Derek your boyfriend.
He grinned, “I knew it. I thought you looked squirrely in there.”
“You were watching?” You asked curiously.
“I’m always watching you.” His grin dropped as he realized how creepy that had sounded, “In a not weird way I promise!”
You laughed at his attempted recovery, “Thanks for checking in Steve.”
“I’m just keeping true to my promises. Speaking of which. How are yours coming along?” His smile grew into a smirk as he knew you were stalling. But that was his job as your best friend to keep pushing. That and he loved you. So, he’d decided it was his time to be selfish. He knew he could treat you better. So much better than that shit head you called a boyfriend.
“I’ve thought about what you said.”
You answer surprised him, “You have? And?”
“You’ll see. Soon.” You gave him a quick nod and smile before leading the two of you back to class. As much as Steve wanted to decipher that with you he knew better than to push too hard. That was more than you’d ever given him, so he was rolling with it for now.
Tumblr media
After School The Next Day
You sat down on the bench in front of the High School in utter defeat. He had forgotten you. This truly was the last straw. Derek had promised he’d take you home knowing your car was in the shop this week and he forgot you. Steve was right. He didn’t give a rats ass about you. He only cared about himself. He only cared about you when it was convenient for himself. How had things unraveled so quickly? You couldn’t keep up this charade anymore. Not when he was up and leaving you places now.
When you heard the soft honk of the car in front of you your heart dropped seeing Steve’s car idling there. Fuck. Why him? He’d seen first-hand how shitty Derek had been treating you these last few weeks and this might actually set him off. Slowly, you walked over to his car. You slid into the front seat not daring to look at him. You just knew he was giving you that disappointed Steve look that only came to his face when Derek did something that should have been a red flag for you.
“You alright?” He asked after a moment of silence.
Closing your eyes you leaned back into the seat, “You’re right.”
“What about?” Steve asked as he pulled out of the school parking lot.
“About Derek. The whole thing. I deserve more.” A tear slipped out as you said it out loud for the first time. Sure, you’d thought about it in your head, but it was different spoken out and for Steve to hang onto.
He pulled over onto the side of the road, “Hey, it’s okay. I’m so glad you’ve realized it. He hadn’t been treating you well.” Steve hesitantly reached out and brushed away the stray tear which brought on an entirely new set of waterworks from his lighter than a feather touch.
He let you cry it out in the passenger’s seat of his car not uttering a word until he thought you could actually hear him, “I’m here for you. It’s okay. You’re okay.” He didn’t know his words only made you cry even further for you were mourning a relationship you never had. One where you thought you were in love, but it was just stupid teenage hormones. The one you loved was sitting right here comforting you beyond your wildest imagination.
You hiccupped after a moment of you unexpected breakdown. A wave of embarrassment washed over you as you realized how you had quite literally cried like a baby in front of Steve, “I’m so sorry Stevie.” You whispered breaking out the nickname only he let you use.
“Don’t apologize sweetheart.” He’d never called you that before. Shoot, he’d never really looked at you like this before. He looked at you like how you felt about him. Like he loved you.
“I didn’t mean too… I didn’t…”
He shook his head before pushing up the arm rest separating the two of you. He maneuvered his legs so you could slide over, “Shh, come here. It’s okay. I promise you that. I don’t break my promises, remember?”
You nodded before launching yourself into your best friend arms. You let him wrap you right on up as the car idled with the two of you suctioned together. He squeezed as he held you letting you know that he had no plans or intentions of letting you walk away again.
“Y/N?” He asked after minutes of the two of you just wrapped in the others embrace.
“Yeah?”
He took another second before letting out a long breath, “You remember how I said that somebody wants to treat you better? Somebody out there wants to be that person for you?” He asked with an unusual shakiness in his voice. Uncommon for the usually so confident Steve Harrington.
You hummed just enjoying being wrapped up in his arms. This didn’t happen that often anymore no matter how much you wanted to. You were with Derek. You couldn’t do that. But now? All bets were off, “Yeah, thank you for that.”
He nodded, “I can be that person. I can treat you better. If you’d let me that is.”
You sucked in a breath at his words, “You can?” Was this really happening?
“I can.”
You turned your eyes up to his with a bigger than life smile, “Okay.”
His scared eyes turned hopeful at the simplest of statements, “Okay?”
A quick nod before you turned your head into his chest, “Let’s do it. I love you already so?”
“You do?” His hopeful eyes turned from that of hope to shock right back to those lovey dovey ones he had on you days prior.
“I do.” You grinned feeling better than you had in a long time admitting that to him so freely. It shouldn’t be hard. This was about to be the best thing that you could’ve done for yourself. Who would’ve thought two crappy relationships was all the two of you needed to finally open your eyes to what was right in front of you.

Loopy Confessions - Steve Harrington
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Steve Harrington x Reader
Requested: Yes
Warnings: swearing, loopy steve, re-confessing one's feelings, FLUFF
Word Count: 859
Summary: While helping Steve clean up after getting drugged and beat up by Russians under the Starcourt Mall, he re-confesses his love for you unaware that you're already dating.
Tumblr media
Knowing Steve, he was a bit dumb when it comes to love that's why he's always had dates and not girlfriends. That was odd to him but to you it wasn't because you knew how much of a dork he was and for that, women weren't as interested as you were. You had fallen head over heels for your friend, unaware that he likes you back but thought the same thing you thought.
Having a crush on each other was hard because you both wanted to confess but had the idea that if you or Steve confessed to each other one would simply decide that they don't want to date him/her, so you kept it a secret around him but Nancy and Robin knew something was up between you and Steve.
Finally, you thought it was a good idea to confess and little did you know, Steve liked you back. You started dating fairly quickly, and that made you happy. Things took a turn when Steve, Robin, you, Erica and Dustin broke into underground Russian head quarters beneath Starcourt Mall. It annoyed you to go with them but you went anyway because you wanted to protect you little brother, not notching Steve trying to protect you.
The three of you managed to get out alive but Steve and Robin risked their lives to protect you and the kids as you dragged Steve towards a bench in the mall, you ran and grabbed some medical supplies from the back in the first aid kit, prying it open and grabbing something, anything that can help Steve and his open sores.
"Steve, hey," You say as Steve looks at you, staring into your eyes. "I'm gonna give you some meds to ease the pain, OK? Then I'm gonna clean you up."
He nods, trying to process everything you just said as he gets distracted by your leg, noticing a large cut on it. He tries to get you to look at it, but you are more focused on Steve's injuries more than your own. you grab your hoodie and rip some fabric off it and grabbing a bottle of liquid medicine and reading the label to see if its safe for face wounds. Since it is, you drip some onto the cloth before dabbing Steve's wounds as he pulls away from you and winces at it.
"Ow, that hurts," He complains.
"I'm sorry, babe. I'm trying to be as gentle as I can be, but it is kinda hard to clean a wound when you're moving away."
He nods, moving closer to you as he tries to kiss you. You now pull away, eying Steve as he becomes sad as you grab some meds, pouring two out from the bottle. You hand him the two pills as he swallows them, waiting for the effects to hit. Once when the medicine kicks in, Steve becomes a little giggly as he plays with your hair as you focus cleaning his wounds.
"You're so pretty, I wish you were my girlfriend. That would be great if you were."
You chuckle at him while setting the cloth down and grabbing some bandages and covering Steve's open wounds. You finish up, tossing the bloody cloth and other stuff away before coming back and grabbing something for your leg sore, wrapping it up then packing up the first aid kit and setting it to the side, looking towards Steve as he grabs your hand.
"I love you, Y/N Y/L/N. I've always been in love with you and tired of thinking of you and around you but not physically. Will you be my girlfriend/boyfriend, Y/N?"
You giggle at your boyfriend, stopping almost immediately when he furrows his brows and complains that you're giggling. "Yes, Steve Harrington. I'll be your girlfriend." Bursting out laughing at him before stopping.
For the next few minutes, Steve is still drugged a bit before finally coming back together and acting like his normal self. You both rise to your feet, bringing him into a hug and telling him how scared you were when you saw how badly his open sores were. He holds you close before pulling away as you smile, beginning to tease him.
"I love you, Y/N Y/L/N. I've always been in love with you," You tease, imitating him.
"Okay, okay. You can stop."
"Thinking of you and around you but not physically," You continue teasing him more as he becomes slightly irritated.
"Okay, Okay. I hear you. You can stop now."
You begin making smooching sounds, holding your hands to your heart and smiling cutesy at him as he rolls his eyes. You slowly take it down and giggling causing him to pick up you, holding you close as you shout for him to stop. He playfully puts you on your feet as your bandage falls off, causing him to see it as he decides to help you.
