Hear me out: We stick Darry in a time loop where worse and worse things happen, before it gets to the point he no longer cares about the fact he’s in a time loop, so when he accidentally breaks it he has to relearn how to live not knowing everybody’s next move or words.
Gang thinks he’s a little too mentally unstable and then they all slowly start to piece it together, because they can see small fractures in their own reality, where they can see the loop, but not to a great extent, just small moments.
Then cocoa and blankets and a shitty cheesy movie so they can collectively panic in a somewhat normal way.

-but kinda gets used to it after a while and finds it endearing

-and you make him read to you in the voices if he wants them back

-he looks forward to bedtime stories at the end of the day
