There is something about writing for Astarion that scratches an itch that the game doesn't quite reach.

Obviously a big part of it is putting him in situations he doesn't experience in the game, fleshing out his reactions to things, the like, but just... imagining him in all five senses? Not just the way he looks and sounds.

Imagining his skin, how cold it would be to the touch. How his fingers would warm over time entwined in yours. How his touch would leave shivering trails in its wake.

Imagining his scent, how it would waft from him. How it would surround you like his embrace. How it would slowly seep into you and begin to feel like a secondary home.

Imagining his taste, how unexpected it is the first time your lips part to welcome it in. How easily you find your tongue exploring for more. How every single flavor of his body is yours to try.

Just ahhhhhhhhhh, everyone should write for this man because he's like pure imagination fuel.

saw a post that said "haunting of hill house is about family" and like yes sure but i would argue

that it is about grief? and how never talking about that grief - which they say repeatedly in the show "DAD NEVER TALKED" - is what causes it to fester and harm.

that post also said that Bly was about love and like YES but what if it is actually!!! about regret?! and how never saying things or a dream that cannot happen will haunt you?

i think midnight mass is about faith like that post says yes but.. isn't it also about betrayal? betrayed by your faith, betrayed by your community, betrayed by the deity you thought could save you?

Reading long Ghoap fics is so wild because you know, know, that something is going to go horribly wrong in a mission and you're going to feel like hell because of course it would. But also, it's something I greatly enjoy reading, how writers use that plot point to progress the story & the relationship. Makes me brain go brrrrr.

What do I love about Spideypool?

I love how their characters - one anxious, analytical, out of touch with his feelings, the other deranged but in touch with his emotions and soft side in unexpected ways - play off each other, and the capacity they have to heal and support one-another.

I love good identity shenanigans where Peter thinks the world is about to come crashing down and Wade could care less and you know it but it still seems like all the stakes are riding on it. Dramatic irony, yum.

I love the opportunity to explore identity with an openly pansexual and a closeted bisexual character. (Honestly, Marvel does Wade dirty by just making his sexuality a running joke and having all of his relationships be with women. Wtf, Marvel.)

I love the physicality of both of them, their fighting skill and contrasting/complementary styles as well as the exploration of the relationship between bodily injury/pain/discomfort and mental/emotional pain.

I love the capacity this ship has for puns, wordplay, and incredibly witty banter. I also love mildly unhinged stream-of-conciousness writing (ala the likes of Tom Robbins and Dave Eggers.) Deadpool's inner monologue is excellent in that regard. I'm constantly striving to improve my Deadpool voice.

But, most importantly, this is the crucial element: they sexy boys who fight.

Can we just imagine for a sec...

A Saturday where you don't have to be anywhere, have no plans other than spending time with your boyfriend Eddie Munson. You just laying on his bed after a fuck session. Naked with wild hair. Giving Eddie a kiss before rolling over to retrieve the book you had discarded the night before. Eddie slaps your ass before getting up to put on his boxers, plays one of his tapes, then grabs what he needs to roll a joint. Sitting in the chair close to you, in the corner of your eye you see him bobbing his head to the music while simultaneously rolling two joints and asking about your book.

Once he is finished and you know that because he's stopped humming and just watching you, you look up from your book and stare right back at him. The smile on his face kills you every time you see it, so contagious. "Here babe", he offers you the joint first but when you reach out to grab it he pulls back, you look at him confused. "open"

You open your mouth slightly, just enough for Eddie to place the practically perfect joint between your lips. Once secure, he grabs his lighter and sparks it for you. And what a sight you are to him, his wet dream come to life. The person he loves lying naked in his bed with a book, a joint, and his music in the background. Best Saturday Ever.

You take a few hits and exhale the smoke, offering the joint back to him with a smile. He happily takes his hits as well, blowing the smoke away from you as you begin to read again. but he can't help himself...

Eddie places his hand under your chin to pry your eyes from your book and leans forward, kissing you like he doesn't need air.

You are his oxygen. All he needs.

Trapped in a snow storm

Truth or dare (bonus if camping for some reason)

Fake dating for Christmas

High school AU (alt: Magic school au)

Groundhogs day, but they are BOTH stuck in the loop

Roommates to lovers

One character is a vampire all of a sudden

Murder mystery cop drama

One character is Royal/famous (the other is not enthused)

Arranged marriage setup (dystopian and/or royal)

Only one bed (can be used at any time)

Two person love triangle (falling for their online persona while the other falls for them in person)

Fairy tale re-telling (Cinderella, Beauty and the beast etc.)

Married in Vegas and fall in love trying to peice together your drunken last 24 hours

Some version of the classic straight romance novel (big city person returns home for holiday, and falls for hot apple farmer while saving the harvest festival, and finds out he's secretly a millionaire)

Fix it fics: a) the final obstacle that keeps them apart can be taken on by another, freeing up love interest, b) the final obstacle can be completed, and then the love interest can do something to find them when it's over

omegaverse but it's bird-based

ok so basically i had this idea where it's the omegaverse trope but instead of being based off of wolves, it's based off of birds.

the alphas are called peacocks. peacocks are stereotypically very flamboyant and egotistical. during "mating season," peacocks tend to wear extremely garish, showy outfits to get noticed by someone. whenever someone challenges a peacock, they have to be prepared to either engage in an insult war, or a dance battle.

the omegas are called sparrows. sparrows are stereotypically bland and unemotional. during "mating season," sparrows usually stay at home in order to not encounter 92 peacocks pretending to be boy bands on their way to the grocery store. sparrows aren't confrontational, tending to ignore conflict and walking away from unpleasant situations.

betas...well, betas don't really have a collective name. in some areas, betas are called pigeons, while in others they are called hawks or ravens. it really depends on where you are in the world. betas don't have a mating season and their behavior varies on each individual person.
