Absolutely love that in Loki season 2 they blatantly make fun of Norse culture and say that the wooden Norse Odin, Baldr and Thor statue carvings are "dramatizations" and "highly insulting" and "glorified dioramas"
Real nice Disney real fucking nice/s /neg

the little mermaid trailer is making me feel a lot of things, like wow halle’s voice is so beautiful she brought me to tears in like 4 seconds. and obviously tlm is a classic disney movie that has some absolutely fantastic music and i bet the entire film is going to be absolutely gorgeous
but it also brings up all those feelings i have about beauty and the beast (which is my favorite animated disney movie) because they didn’t give belle the same care by hiring someone who is a good singer. emma watson is a great actor and she is quite beautiful and i absolutely cannot discount that - but her singing voice is not good. and certainly not good enough to carry a musical as the female lead. and it just disappointed me so much because i thought that if any studio would try to avoid the “cast a famous person even if they’re not great at singing” trope, it’d be disney.
which also brings me to the rant about casting people who really are not singers in musicals. renee zellweger and richard gere in chicago? dude why. and russell crowe in les mis? like i think he did okay, but javert’s voice needs to be more powerful and crowe just didn’t sell it for me. (you can’t put russell crowe against philip quast. you just can’t. there is zero comparison.) some may also put madonna as evita in this rant but i personally think she did a pretty damn good job, and you can tell the work she put in to not sound so pop-singer-ish. (would an actual broadway-style singer have been better? probably, but at least watching evita i don’t get mad about madonna’s singing. whereas with the others i mentioned, i do get mad about the singing and it takes me out of the story.)
just. if your film is good and everything about it is great then you don’t need the big name actors. you can cast a relative unknown and it will be magical and fantastic and bring you into the story and people will go watch it and then you get to show it off for a new generation of fans.
anyway. the little mermaid is going to be great. please cast singers in singing roles. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Dear Hollywood,
Why don’t you stop, sit down and take, like, a month to study Studio Ghibli, a studio that’s massively successful WITHOUT cut-out “female characters” and no constant conflict, some actual quiet moments and deep characters, female and male.
We’re tired and you’re losing money.
Drop the pandering and you’ll have work that’s got actual heart (and also not wind up supporting mysogony, phobias, etc), and art that has rewatch worth and can be passed down to our children and continue to inspire thousands like the classic movies are.
Jasmine and Snow White are strong characters, just not in the patriachatyped way the west seems to think is The Way TM female characters can be strong (i.e. Laura Croft and Captain Marvel because they can run with the boys TM, but in that aspiration, forgot they need to be actual characters.) Hell, a majority of the Marvel characters have become an “I cope too hard with humor like Deadpool to cater to the grossly immature members of the audience, but really I’m just ensuring nothing about this film stays serious and profound” characature. Essentially, Marvel no longer has characters; even the old ones who’ve survived this long have been mutilated by writer/director ignorance of the previous works of which they, somehow, became a part of.
Continuity and good characterisations are not too much to ask for. It’s the basic principles in story telling.
You want more live actions? Fuck Snow White and the talking animal movies; no one wants to see it live/another live action of it and they can’t be improved with live action and CGI (unless ingenuitively reimagined), give us Atlantis and Treasure Planet. Revive the works you sent out to die but are tremendously wonderful stories.
DO support inclusivity, but don’t do it in transparent pandering, it’s obvious and heartless, and we deserve more than that. Take risks, damnit, you’re essentially too big to lose badly anyway, right now, and you’re dying slowly now either way. (Hmm, gee, I wonder why Spiderverse and Nimona are sooooo good!)
PS: treat your writers and CGI techs like actual people. Also, NOT supporting a genocide would really get you back into the good graces of most of my generation. And people (see: companies) would listen to you if you so much as tried to pave the way in green energy and planet conservation (like your work likes to make it seem you care about).
*The news is too depressing and heavy for me to watch, so I learn bits and pieces of what’s happening mainly from discourse I come across online, so if I got something wrong, what’s why it’s wrong. Let me know what’s right and everyone will go on with their days.

‘it’s just trendy to hate on marvel’ no. marvel has done this to themselves. they overwork underpaid and non unionized vfx artists, they don’t allow actors to have access to the full scripts, they gloat about continuity but don’t have consistency, very few of the writers care even slightly about the characters or the source material, and they have gone for quantity over quality / are overproducing their product to the point of consumer exhaust. they are a multi billion dollar creative monopoly that should be held accountable

honestly some of the wish hate i'm seeing is valid and some of it is the most insane opinions you've ever seen in your life. once again i am saying to ppl like "this is the worst disney movie" go watch beauty and the beast 3: belle's magical world and come back to me on that ok. watch the live-action mulan. if you didn't like the plot of wish at least it looked fucking spectacular. have you seen hunchback of notre dame 2?? you cannot tell me that wish is irredeemable garbage until you have watched hunchback of notre dame 2. "well that wasn't made for theatres–" chicken little. ralph breaks the internet. pocahontas has been spitting on the memory of a dead indigenous girl since 1995. it's okay if you went in expecting something as good as encanto and didn't get it but the absolutely insane takes of "the entire thing was just bad references" "magnifico was right and asha and amaya were the villains" "it was ugly and disrespectful" like shut UP and sit through mulan 2.

Disney, releasing Wish: "so it's all about legacy--the new generation surpassing the old, overcoming the evils perpetuated by them, relinquishing singular power... and there's an old man in a tower, uh... animal sidekick, i guess..., ah... magic...?

My honest opinion on the Percy Jackson show from a neurodivergent PJO stan who has loved the series since childhood, because it doesn't feel like the opinions I'm seeing are actually honest:
How the hell did Disney fumble this show so badly? They had everything. A great cast with loveable characters. Good set design. A book series that spells everything out for them. Rick Riordan himself. Where did they go wrong? The dialogue is janky and jarring. The fight scenes are terrible, and even the part where Clarisse tries to dunk Percy's head in the toilet is just boring. Medusa was good. The acting, whilst it could be more expressive, is good. There's just no energy. I was laughing like an idiot reading the books, but watching the show its like... mild amusement. I say "oh that's funny" and smile and that's it.
Man. It's quiet. It's long. The CGI being bad is something i can live with, but the lighting and colour grading feels offensive. Pacing is miserable and the scenes are arranged badly. It doesn't feel like a story is being told, but things are just happening.
I'm still going to continue to watch it. I'm loving Annabeth. It's definitely a whole lot better than the movies. But man. Going from the amazing adaptation that was The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes to this is jarring as hell. This is the best show a billion dollar company could make?
5/10. Not actively terrible, just frustrating. My disappointment in this is similiar to that I had of The Marvels, but The Marvels had the absurdity, energy and comedy that this show is just lacking. Where's the weirdness? Where's the fun?
Overall, I'm watching this because I'm a Percy Jackson fan, not because of the quality of the show. I hope it gets better.

Friendly reminder that Loki is an agent of chaos and the TVA is the antithesis of everything that he stands for as a character. Making him a simp for these fascists is the most insulting thing the MCU could have possibly done to this character

So Marvel’s out here ripping off smaller artists now
https://twitter.com/midiankai/status/1580902267460366336
Tumblr media
They edited it just enough that it isn’t immediately obvious, especially to non-artists, so here’s some replies pointing out the proof:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honestly, I’m glad I stopped watching their shows and films months ago, becuase between this and how they treat their CGI artists, it’s pretty clear that they don’t value artists in any way, shape or form whatsoever. Incredibly disappointing.

Your problem is Thor stripped in L&T but do you remember Thor's stripped in your glorious TDW? ;-)
Hello 🙂 Yes, that's my huge problem with Love and Thunder and definitely not the only one (and definitely not just mine). Of course that I remember shirtless Thor in TDW. And in Thor (2011) too (ta-da!). I remember all from these movies (like every fan, I guess). Yes, TDW is indeed glorious.
Ok. Dear Anon, I will just tell you what I see. Let's start with Thor (2011):
Tumblr media
Shirtless? Shirtless. But that scene is ok. You know why, dear Anon? Because Thor is shirtless because, because he is on Earth at that moment, he hasn't got his powers (and his robes, his cape etc.). He fell from Asgard, he was injured (more than one time), he was at the hospital (where nurse gave him hospital gown). And now he is at Jane's and Darcy's place and girls are trying to help him. Jane gives him clothes because Thor has literally nothing - just that hospital gown. He needs clothes, he can't walk with naked ass. Yes, Darcy is Darcy and sometimes she's too much "aww your muscles" but she sees that Thor seems to be like "I don't like such a comments" and that he is a bit shy. But Darcy wants to help him - just like Jane. They give him a room where he can put on new clothes. They give him a mirror so he can see himself in these new clothes. Jane is even like "I'm sorry, I know that it's not your Asgardian style but...". When you put on a T-shirt, well, it's rather normal that you are shirtless for a while, right? And Thor is ok with being (only) shirtless for a while. And he's ok with girls being there - cause they are kind, they help him and they can behave.
Ah, hospital scene. We saw Thor's naked ass (it was a very tiny fragment of upper butt, honestly):
Tumblr media
source: GetYarn
But that scene is ok too. Why? Because when doctor has to inject you to calm you and it has to be that part of your body, well, that part of body/skin should be uncovered, right?
Ok. Now that scene from TDW, dear Anon:
Tumblr media
Shirtless? Shirtless. But again: Thor is shirtless here because. Because he is after battle. Because he needs to clean his body. He is tired too and he needs to relax a bit. And nobody is looking. He's alone, with himself and with his thoughts. His body is his.
Now something from Chris Hemsworth:
Hemsworth told MTV he had to be convinced by Marvel supremo Joss Whedon that the segue, which recalls Daniel Craig's musclebound "Speedo moment" in James Bond movie Casino Royale, made sense in the context of the superhero's need to clean off the bloodstains of a recent battle.
"That [scene] kind of came from Joss*** actually", revealed the Australian actor. "He just said that there needed to be something romantic in there. Then he said, 'Chris, get your shirt off.' "I said, 'Well, I don't know. What's the why? What are we doing?' The justification was that it was him coming home from battle, washing blood off his hands. It is what it is.
*** Joss Whedon was helping Alan Taylor with TDW (Btw can you imagine Taika calling to f.e. Ken Branagh "help me, man"? I can't)
Source: Ben Child, The Guardian.com
That's about TDW scene. And what about Thor (2011)? The same. Chris is ok with that. The director cares about Chris. There is a sense for such a scene.
Ken Branagh came up to me on the first film and said, 'Oh look, I've got this shirt off scene, how do you feel.' I was like, 'Oh man, I've been working out for eight months; I'm ready, let's go.'
Source: Jessica Rawden, Cinemablend.com
How do you feel, Chris? That's ok. Chris, listen, that scene would be great because this and because that... I understand and let's do it. Do you see that, dear Anon? Oh, Selvig? Selvig was naked too and you think that naked Selvig was naked just for make us laugh? I can't agree. Selvig was still in shock. Selvig was healing after being mind-controled (and no, it's not Loki's fault - it's Other's fault, it's Thanos' fault). His mind wasn't completely fine at that time. And that naked scene is rather sad, don't you think? That's sad when all people around him are like "WTF" and don't know well about his emotions at that time. And Stellan? Stellan is very ok with naked scenes and yeah, he was asked too.
But Taika? Ah, Taika. There is no "How do you feel" in his case. There is no "that scene's got sense because...". When you read Taika's words you see that Thor has to be shirtless or fully naked because Chris' body is so big, sexy and everybody should watch it. Should stare. Should be horny. Thor is naked because Taika wants it. Because it will be fun. It will be sexy. It will be great. And Chris? Taika says Chris is a piece of meat. He's a piece of meat and everybody should see. Muscles are worthy. Ass is worthy. Porn is worthy. Horny ladies watching Thor's dick are worthy. Sense of the scene? Sense? What is it? Meaning? What is it? Sexualization, showing man as a sexual object, giving man an uncomfortable situation just for dirty jokes, stripping man against his will, "that is out of character for Thor"? (not to mention that awful mocking midgardian-in-style tattoo) Taika doesn't understand. He will say "Sexualization? What sexualization?" and of course we will hear again that Taika is "just joking". I don't want to talk much about that disgusting scene in Love and Thunder, dear Anon. Because it's so awful. So painful. And it hurts, it hurts that this scene has so many fans. This scene should have never happened. You shouldn't make such a scene without important reason, without hidden meaning, just for laughs, just for Chris' body.
And Chris? Just read this, please, dear Anon. Read this interview about Chris' feelings and being "a meat":
You want more? Ok, Chris about shirtless Thor in Ragnarok (in the same interview when he was talking about Ken Branagh):
And this time around, there wasn't one [shirtless scene] in the script, which I was really happy about, and then Taika said, 'No, I think we need a shirt off scene.' I was like, 'Ugh, no we've done that. Don't make me do it again!'
Why does Taika need shirtless Thor in Ragnarok? For Chris' body. Oh, because he likes Chris' body and because Chris was working hard to have such a body. Taika's words to Chris:
Be proud of that Chris, be proud of what you've achieved.
Please. Don't even try to tell me that this man's "just joking" again 🙄
Shirtless Thor in Ragnarok? Ok. You can say that it's ok because he is after battle with Hulk and he is injured, ok.
Tumblr media
It's ok, really. But why...
Tumblr media
Why does a one guy need so many ahem... nurses? Ok, maybe he needs. Another question: do these ahem... nurses really have to touch his body, his muscles, so much? Ok, maybe they do. But that's a patient, right? They should be here and stay here to cure him, right? So why do they escape when he's awakened? Why do they escape and look like... Why it looks like "oh no, he's not sleeping now, bye bye sweet skin, bye bye sweet touching, let's go girls"? I know that Grandmaster's house is shitty but... oh, "medical staff" is shitty too?
That scene is ok, you may say. But I'm not sure. And you know what? Taika's words are definitely not ok for me. It's not ok to treat a man (well, Thor created by Branagh is still a very young man, "a boy" like Odin and Laufey said) like an object. It's not ok to treat people, all creatures, like that. If people want themselves to be sexy or horny and/or want others to watch their naked parts of body (I don't mean striptease in the park or something more punishable, ok?) - ok, it's their will. But it's not ok when a person that doesn't want this is stripped, is called a meat, is showed naked (yes, I mean all that fucking situation and both Chris and Thor - Chris is not a meat, Taika, Chris is a person). And it's definitely not fucking funny. And about Thor: it's not ok to make Thor out of his character. And without reasons.
Love and Thunder and Naked Dick? Anon, please. Yes, there are many movies with such a scenes, I suppose. But where is the sense, the meaning in Taika's movie? Does he show that such thing is bad? Do his heroes try to help Thor? No. I've got impression that he really thinks that all is ok. All is good. Does Taika see that sexualization? I don't think so. For him it's just fun. For him it's really funny. It's not toxic in his eyes. He shows "look, children, look everybody, that man is a meat, look at his dick, at his ass, look and smile - easy, children, it's ok, he can't be hurt, he should like it, look: people around him are having fun". And what does that scene show idk about Thor? About his character? Nothing. What does that scene mean? Nothing. What does that scene add to the plot? Nothing. Ah, sorry. It adds more cringe, more shit, more ooc-ness, more toxic air. And more toxic humour. Scene for dirty jokes. Scene for someone's naked body. Scene because director is a boss and fucks the sense, fucks the feelings, fucks everything. Who is worthy for Taika? What. What is worthy? Fun is worthy. Taika's own fun.
Tumblr media
Dear Anon. Sorry. Taika's Thor (I should say Thor Goofyson) movies are tasteless and toxic. And I definitely see the difference between canon!Thor scenes and retcon!Thor scenes. And between Taika's behaviour and behaviour of the previous directors (and believe me, I know how shitty can be Joss - but in that case he said WHY and WHAT FOR and Chris was ok, and Alan was ok and Thor was treated ok too). You can't change my mind. You love them? Ok. You were just asking? Ok. I hope that my answer is rather kind (I may hate Disney, may hate Feige's decisions but I never want to hurt - it's my opinion, my little rant, my emotions). I hope that my answer is clear.
And friendly reminder because some people don't understand: only words and deeds matter for me (I don't care if skin is white, black, green etc. - when I see people I see people, just people, ok?).
And yeah, LOKI series and stripped Loki are awful (for sure for me) too but Anon asked about Thor so let's stay around Thor.

Tom Hiddleston always gets the short end of the stick when it comes to ‘Loki.’
- His show didn’t have showrunners that actually knew about or cared about his character
- The original script he was given was blacklisted in 2018
- Michael Waldron the show ‘creator’ is a ‘phile’ and a sicko overall.
- Kate Herron said that they ‘made things up as they went along.’
- They wanted to ‘knock Tom down a notch’ in order to let Sylvie shine. I recall Taika saying a similar thing in relation to Ragnarok and even Feige removed him from Age of Ultron due to his ‘insane acting skills.’ 🙄
- Apparently Chris Hemsworth is ‘sick of Loki’ and said that he’s like a “clingy ex-girlfriend who can’t take the hint that it’s done, it’s over.”
- Taika Waititi said that Loki outshined Thor before so he wanted to stop that from happening.
- Taika wanted to put Loki in a porta potty:
Tumblr media
- Taika wanted Tom to get pregnant with a horse implying bestial r*pe!!
Tumblr media
- Most of his scenes from the movies were deleted
- Michael Waldron and Kate Herron said that they wanted to ‘knock Tom down a few pegs’ in order to give Sylvie a chance to shine
- He had to film the show during COVID which stuffed a lot of things
- He couldn’t promote the second season due to the SAG AFTRA strikes.
- He’s never featured in the Marvel opening title sequence
- He is still one of the ‘lowest paid Marvel actors.’
- He goes out of his way to promote Infinity War even though he’s only in it for 2 minutes!
- His series didn’t get the ‘spotlight treatment’ or have and show runners who KNEW anything about Marvel or Loki! Tom spent FOUR days showing them PowerPoint presentations showing them all about aloki and the MCU at the infamous ‘Loki Lectures’ but “SCREW YOU TOM AND YOUR CHARACTER! WE CARE MORE ABOUT KANG AND THE TVA, YOUR ‘CHARACTER’ IS JUST A PLACE HOLDER NOW!”
- They made him look older and less appealing in the show than he does irl. Look at him in some shots in the show then see him behind the scenes! The makeup, lighting and angles were unflattering at times! They even managed to remove that sparkle in his eye in the show but it was there behind the scenes!
- The director of S1, Kate Herron said that it was wanted Sophia/Sylvie to ‘knock Tom Hiddleston down a notch.’
Tumblr media
The director of S2, Aaron Moorhead said ‘Why don’t you just go away?’
Tumblr media
What we could have had… 😪 Poor guy. I wonder how he feels being bullied, exploited and sidelined all the time. 😢💔

Inside Out 2 slogan is THE WORST movie slogan i've seen. it's not even """just"""offensive it's LITERALLY harmful
Tumblr media Tumblr media
all the disney and all the pixar and all of the employees who made this didn't know that people hearing voices in their head is real thing? they didn't know about intrusive thoughts?
they knew. they knew, and still they thought "saying to people, and children, that voices in the head knows them well, is a good idea!". (it's not). and don't say to me that they didn't think about real people with voices/intrusive thoughts at all. because it's even worse
it's not good idea to say this kind of sh it. the worst thing you can say to person who is hearing voices or having intrusive thoughts is that their thoughts is somehow depict who they truly are.
here is the link to the post about intrusive thoughts - link
it is really good post which can help you if you struggling with intrusive thoughts, i don't know about voices in the head, but i think it's a little similar thing
i can't say better than the picture from that post which is
Tumblr media
The level of ignorance and ableism in that action of disney pixar or who the f is responsible for this is unbelievable. Imagine someone who is hearing voices/having intrusive thoughts but doesn't have access to medic help seeing this. Imagine a kid with this problem seeing this. It's just wild.
i was trying to find the word for discrimination of people who has mental disorders or symptoms and i didn't even found the word which people use in conversations (have you heard of sanism? i am mentally ill person and i didn't). This problem has that level of discourse. Thanks for f kcing help, disney.
I fkcin hate Disney why it's still here can this mammoth shit just d iе already
