i can't be the only one who's noticed just how fucked up the concept of loki joining the tva is, right? i personally haven't seen anyone talk about this but it's one of the main things that makes me so uncomfortable about the show.

like, let me describe this without using any of the language that the series does;

a secret police dedicated to killing entire groups of people "for the greater good," one day picks up a man from one of these groups and tells him that if he doesn't help them catch the person who is trying to take them down, they will straight up kill him.

he is then given a coat to wear, branded with the secret police's logo, as well as clarification in huge red letters that he is NOT one of the secret police— he is part of the group the secret police kills.

this secret police is marketed as morally gray, and the company who makes the show releases merch for you to dress up as the secret police (or as the group that they kill) for fun because they want you to think this is cute and aesthetic.

and also the secret police uses gas chambers.

oh and also also, people draw cutesy ship art of this man and the "good cop" cuddling, while the man is clearly labeled and wearing a bland jumpsuit that the secret police forces him to wear.

That whole ending with Loki holding all of the timelines together for eternity... I read another post where someone said that ending didn't feel right because Loki didn't cause any of this shit, he shouldn't be the one who has to sacrifice himself to solve these problems that aren't even his fault.

And yeah honestly they should've had He Who Remains be forced to hold these timelines together as punishment or something or maybe have Mobius or any one of the TVA workers do this as a way to make up for all the horrible shit they did.

But nope we get this ending that's supposed to be "tragic" and serve as a form of "redemption" but doesn't because the writers have made it very clear that they have no understanding of Loki's character or how to write a decent story in general.

Edit: I see y'all mentioning Sylvie and I think I must've purged my memory of her when writing this post. Hell yeah she should be the one fixing this shit considering it was her recklessness that started it in the first place. But no I guess Loki lOvEs her now even though she's been nothing but an asshole for this entire fucking show.

Absolutely love that in Loki season 2 they blatantly make fun of Norse culture and say that the wooden Norse Odin, Baldr and Thor statue carvings are "dramatizations" and "highly insulting" and "glorified dioramas"

Before I go on this rant, I'd like to remind you all that Loki is now the best version of himself. I don't like the way there, I don't like what they did with the character, but it is what it is. So, I gotta ask,

What About Thor?

Loki sacrificed his entire life to sitting at the end of time. Wouldn't he be sad to know he'll never get a chance to see Thor, ever? Thor will never know he's alive, that he's the reason his timeline isn't spaghetti? And Loki will never get a chance to say goodbye.

Last time he saw Thor was this:

Is this where this relationship is left off? As opposed to what the show would have you believe, Thor is one of, if not the most significant relationship Loki has. And that's where you're abandoning it? You're not gonna give it a passing nod before Loki's going to spend the rest of his life alone?

So, apparently, B-15 is supposed to be Verity Willis, and I've seen so many posts loving and praising this. Well, I gotta say that this...doesn't deserve any praise and love. In fact, this was a stupid decision.

Verity in the comics is Loki's best friend who was there for him when he was going through an identity crisis. She had a cool look and powers that could detect lies. Her MCU version is nothing like her. She's a time cop who's not even Loki's friend, doesn't have her abilities, her personality, nothing except the name.

Now, I was cool with B-15 as her own character. But, now that Verity's name is slapped onto her, she's gonna be compared to the actual comic character and see how vastly different the two are. Yet again, an original character taking the place of a comic character in the MCU, which sucks cause again, I was cool with B-15.

So, I don't get why this reveal and choice is getting so much praise when it shouldn't. I know that fans of the character would want better than this, so why?

‘Loki’ is supposed to albeit rumoured to turn up in Deadpool 3, Doctor Strange 3, Thor 5, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty & Avengers: Secret Wars.

Once upon a time, every little snippet we got of the ‘real’ Loki was a treat no matter how brief. Now that there is more of this ‘Husk-Loki’ it just leaves me feel empty on the inside. While I like that ‘he’s more powerful than ever and has more fans than ever,’ It’s NOT ‘Loki!’ It’s literally just Tom doing whatever Disney wants him to do (No offence Tom but it’s true. Deep down you know this too.)

I would rather have ‘no “Loki”’ than any more ‘Husk-Loki.’ As a die-hard fan I can say that. Just let him rest in peace if you can’t bring him back properly. Now I fully blame Disney for this. Any of you that thinks that Tom likes the direction the show went in just because he’s ‘Executive producer,’ Why would he want his own character to be sidelined for Sylvie, Kang, the multiverse and the TVA let alone them utterly RUINING him in the process?! The show treated the character like absolute SHIT in more ways than one and stripped him of everything that made him HIM! There is hardly ANYTHING ‘Loki’ about this show except for the fact that Tom is IN it!

No offence to you at all Tom, I’m a HUGE fan and admirer of you and the REAL version of the character that you loved playing so much but I (and many other fans alike) would rather have ‘no Loki’ than THAT ‘Loki.’ He became a messenger boy in order to set up the ‘next Avengers movie’ and ‘Kang’s puppet.’ It makes me SICK! 🤢🤮

I feel bad for NOT wanting him to get an Emmy for ‘THAT’ version of ‘Loki’ that wasn’t true to him or us REAL fans! He said in the latest ‘Assembled: Making of Loki Season 2’ while crying mind you, that he ‘Didn’t want to break him (Loki) and that he wanted to play him truthfully.’ It’s not you who ‘broke him’ Tom, it was Disney. 😓😪💔❤️‍🩹 I want him to get an award for playing the REAL LOKI!! Not for that ‘shell!’ 😤 Just like I’m genuinely happy for him that the series is ‘so popular’ and highly rated and praised even though it ISN’T good but he DESERVES the praise!

Just like I’m happy that he’s had so much screen time now. Most of that ISN’T the REAL LOKI! What made him extra special was that he had SO much impact in the LITTLE (2 hours) screen time that he DID have!! 😤 At least he may FINALLY get his rightful and PERMANENT place in the opening title sequence though. 🤷‍♀️💚

Waldron writing is like if cake fails were a movie. You see one person take all this stuff and make something beautiful and then you see Waldron take the same stuff and make a mess and wonder how someone could fail so hard.

Ngl, that analogy made me giggle. You're not wrong. Just sprinkle in some "didn't care about how it was put together as long as the shape and color is right" and you nailed it. Cuz he doesn't care, the only difference I've noticed between him and Waititi is that Waititi hates Loki, so he could still mock-mimick Loki enough to cover up his lack, whereas Waldron truly does not care, and that's why it barely even looks like a Loki. His focus is on his self-insert and his mary-sue-best-gurl-in-the-universes. They even admitted such tweeting about how much they were upset they couldn't make the Loki show into the Sylvie show.

Ok so I just saw the Loki season 2 set photos with Sylvie working at a McDonalds in the 70s and Loki in his drab TVA suit (but hey at least he got a new shirt) following her around looking forlorn and so yeah s2 is gonna be the same bullshit and I’m depressed as fuck. Anyone else?

i know i've talked so much about it today, but i seriously cannot get loki season 2 out of my head. everything i have learned about it has been against my will

it's genuinely messed up that so much of the dialogue in the loki series is spent talking about how loki is a bad person and a murderer and etc. when the loki show itself is the one that cut his redemption arc short.

a redemption arc, btw, which was for things he was likely either forced or manipulated into doing— and don't come to me saying the thanos torture is a headcanon. rewatch Avengers 1. he is harmed and threatened on screen. thanos canonically tortures his own daughters. and him harming LOKI is a stretch? come on, now.

It's simple, I see Mobius as none other than someone complicit in a genocidal dictatorship, willing to psychologically and physically torture someone (I mean, come on, it has been seen on screen in S1) who EVEN WHEN SEEING HE WAS WRONG, he just justified himself and never apologized. I see the way he acts towards Loki as full on projection (was raised by two abusive parents, so the whole "projecting your issues/insecurities" is something I'm very aware of.)

Like, shaming Loki for killing people when Mobius was participant in the murder of millions (Not justifying Loki's actions, just pointing out the hypocrisy). Blaming him for his mother's death when :

1- He hasn't done that

2- It was what the TVA wanted

and then have the BALLS to say "you can be a good person"? BRO. THAT FEELS LIKE PROJECTION TO ME. Feel free to say I'm wrong, but I said what I said.

Over all, he didn't even have a decent conversation with Loki asking him to talk about his feelings or thoughts.

I like how the Loki writers seemingly just forgot about the people in the Void (or whatever the fuck that big ass field with all the pruned variants was called).

Like wtf happened to those Loki variants? Did they escape? Were they just eaten by the smoke monster? Did the writers just think that we wouldn't question these things or did they actually answer them and I'm just remembering things wrong?

loki acting “goofy” and “carefree” in the loki show is NOT somehow some portrayal of him breaking out of the chains of tragedy and society and unleashing his inner child, its just bad fucking writing. im tired of you guys. lokis personality IS LACED with dignity and poise. his mild tempered self control and icy wit isnt some kind of fucking mask to hide from society, HE JUST ACTS LIKE THAT. obviously there are vulnerable sides to loki that he prefers not to show, but one can exist simultaneously with the other. YES, loki hides behind his displays of apathy of superiority, YES loki is a genuinely intelligent, skilled, sarcastic bookworm of a man that was literally shunned in his society for not having a hair-trigger temper and inclination to run around like an idiot. The man literally used the tesseract to go mongolia in the first five minutes of the show. The same tesseract that can take you to any part of the universe of your own choosing and he chose to go to a random place on earth where everyone knows who he is. As though he didn’t just try to take over the planet with an out-of-space army and his face wasn’t all over the news. Extremely loki-like to go and try to hide out on a planet on which everyone knows him instead of going to some remote private hide out only he knows about. Also very loki-like to just open up the tesseract portal in the air, like hundreds of meters above the ground for no reason at all lol.
