i can't be the only one who's noticed just how fucked up the concept of loki joining the tva is, right? i personally haven't seen anyone talk about this but it's one of the main things that makes me so uncomfortable about the show.
like, let me describe this without using any of the language that the series does;
a secret police dedicated to killing entire groups of people "for the greater good," one day picks up a man from one of these groups and tells him that if he doesn't help them catch the person who is trying to take them down, they will straight up kill him.
he is then given a coat to wear, branded with the secret police's logo, as well as clarification in huge red letters that he is NOT one of the secret police— he is part of the group the secret police kills.
this secret police is marketed as morally gray, and the company who makes the show releases merch for you to dress up as the secret police (or as the group that they kill) for fun because they want you to think this is cute and aesthetic.
and also the secret police uses gas chambers.
oh and also also, people draw cutesy ship art of this man and the "good cop" cuddling, while the man is clearly labeled and wearing a bland jumpsuit that the secret police forces him to wear.

It's such a shame that loki never made an appearance after the dark world:/

Absolutely love that in Loki season 2 they blatantly make fun of Norse culture and say that the wooden Norse Odin, Baldr and Thor statue carvings are "dramatizations" and "highly insulting" and "glorified dioramas"
Real nice Disney real fucking nice/s /neg

Before I go on this rant, I'd like to remind you all that Loki is now the best version of himself. I don't like the way there, I don't like what they did with the character, but it is what it is. So, I gotta ask,
What About Thor?
Tumblr media
Loki sacrificed his entire life to sitting at the end of time. Wouldn't he be sad to know he'll never get a chance to see Thor, ever? Thor will never know he's alive, that he's the reason his timeline isn't spaghetti? And Loki will never get a chance to say goodbye.
Last time he saw Thor was this:
Tumblr media
Is this where this relationship is left off? As opposed to what the show would have you believe, Thor is one of, if not the most significant relationship Loki has. And that's where you're abandoning it? You're not gonna give it a passing nod before Loki's going to spend the rest of his life alone?

I like how the Loki writers seemingly just forgot about the people in the Void (or whatever the fuck that big ass field with all the pruned variants was called).
Like wtf happened to those Loki variants? Did they escape? Were they just eaten by the smoke monster? Did the writers just think that we wouldn't question these things or did they actually answer them and I'm just remembering things wrong?

Abuse in the Loki Show
* Physical and sexual abuse: The main male character was stripped without his consent after being violently subdued, kidnapped and imprisoned. He got bent over a table by a physically stronger female character (B-15) making it look like he was about to be sexually assaulted. He was repeatedly kicked whilst already down, thrown around into things, knocked around and strangled by a much larger and stronger male. There was also a scene where a female character stood over his unconscious body looking like she was going to take advantage of him (Sylvie) who also bit, kneed and elbowed him causing him to clutch himself in pain. He was repeatedly hit, punched and kicked in the balls by another female character (Sif) and lastly he was kissed without giving consent (Sylvie). Another male character (Mobius) was pushed violently onto the ground by his female ‘superior’ (Ravonna.) There was also blatant violence against women such as B-15 punching Sylvie into the ground making her clutch herself and gasp in extreme pain. In the second season, Sylvie blasts the main male character into the ground quite brutally in the third episode. She also brutally hits another female character (Ravonna) in the stomach and kicks her through a time door in the same episode. Sylvie physically assaults the main male character in the final episode of season 2, two of the main male characters exploit a female character Sylvie in the final episode of season 2.
* Bullying, mental and psychological abuse: The main male character (Loki) is shown traumatising footage of events that happened in his life while his captor (Mobius) tells him how bad he is and brings up MORE abusive events and tells him how unimportant he is.
* He was put into a ‘torture time loop’ by his captor (Mobius) where he repeatedly got physically and verbally abused (kicking in the balls, hitting, punching and bullying about ‘deserving to be alone’) by not ‘staying in line’ by the organisation. A female character (Sylvie) leads on the main male character and manipulates him, sexually abuses him, blames and bullies him for all the issues that SHE created and stops him from trying to do the right thing!
* Nazi Symbolism:
- Stripped prisoners without consent.
- Force them to work for you or kill and torture them. Some of the torture methods include being ‘subdued’ and ‘gassed’ inside of a cube.
- Subdue, abuse, restrain, strip and beat them into submission in order to brainwash them, erase their memories and give them ‘Stockholm syndrome’ and ‘befriend’ their abusers (Mobius, B-15)

your not as in the minority about sylvie as you think. i think a lot of us dont like the people who love her coming for us, you know?
Yeah. Fandom can be messy af on all side of the issue, yeah? Accusing others of being hateful merely for the negative-to-your-view opinion they have on one topic is an argument older than humanity.
I do think we're on the minority side, if only because it's clear she had enough support to warrant literally and entirely usurping Loki's show and STILL have it be the highest-rated, most-watched MCU show yet. Sylvie has love and support, you can't deny it.
I DO think the antis are bigger and more united than the pros think, however. And what we have that they don't is the solid argument that Loki's character progression is PAST the point where he needs a rude awakening and to get his ass kicked every time he speaks. Sylvie was written to be both of those things for him.
Whether or not you hate her for taking the place of a more worthy character like Amora or Sigyn, or because it fucks up the show and takes away from Loki time, the one common thread we have is we care way more about Loki as a character that has been over a decade in the making and progressing. Pretty much every anti-sylki argument I've seen goes back to the abusive dynamic they have.
You try following and loving a character, watching him grow and change while still being authoritative and charming, then, after being told you're finally getting the spinoff of your dreams starring him, watching him get the character development beaten out of him and shown to him on a projector, after which he literally accepts his abuse and turns everything immediately over to someone else who happens to be hot and have a vagina.
Sylvie turned the bloody fucking Trickster Prince of Asgard, true heir of Jotunheim, into a buttmonkey. Pardon us for being disillusioned.

Ok not to talk about that series, but i just gotta say that i can’t help but be… i don’t know, i guess grateful? that marvel decided to let this mischaracterization happen to the variant™️ instead of to our loki. (since we all know that it would happen eventually because they don’t care about his character or anything he’s been through. hence his characterization in ragnarok too.) but i do mourn what our loki could’ve been everyday. and how much he deserved a solo project or even just another thor movie that would’ve dived into LITERALLY ANYTHING about him. there was so much potential, but instead they killed him off because they needed someone to open up the doors to the multiverse or literally whatever tf.
the series could’ve been about literally anyone. that’s just how non loki centered it is despite it literally being called LOKI. i hate that they’re trying to push this variant as the “new loki”, and that our loki is “irrelevant” and “flawed” now when he literally was perfect before he was killed off (and before ragnarok.) if this was what new “loki” content would consist of, they should’ve just let him go since clearly no one at marvel understands anything about him anymore.
(oh and not to mention that they originally wanted to kill loki off in the dark world, which actually explains a lot.)
also this is sort of unrelated to the original rant but i just gotta say that i really and truly wish that lokius/mobius fans would stop acting as if they’re so much more morally superior than sylki/sylvie fans. neither of them actually understand loki or care about him, and they both need to stop claiming that they are loki fans. because in reality, they’re just fans of the variant and who they can ship him with. if they actually understood loki, they would dislike the series as much as the rest of us do. it’s written by people who don’t get anything about loki besides…
“haha he’s thor’s younger brother who’s jealous and so evil… he commits evil acts JUST for the fun of it and without any true reasoning. oh and he’s such a narcissist guys… it’s not like he’s been trying to prove himself (mind you this is something an actual narcissist wouldn’t feel they have to do btw. but since the writers couldn’t see through the Very Obvious facade that loki puts up in response to the way he’s been ignored, belittled, neglected, etc… they think he’s a narcissist.) to not only odin, but to everyone else around him in the first two movies he was in. and since he’s privileged, it must mean he can’t have any kind of struggles and is overreacting. yass put him in a time loop where he continuously gets physically assaulted 😍 that’ll show him for sure.”
and then sylki/sylvie fans, and lokius/mobius fans will ignore how bad this writing is, just because loki was dumbed down enough to be shipped with their mediocre ass characters. if you can ignore the VERY OBVIOUS mischaracterization of loki’s character, then you are not a loki fan. you’re just a fan of the series and the characters in it. both lokius and sylki shippers are Um… not that great to put it kindly, but lokius shippers specifically have this weird superiority complex over sylki shippers/sylvie fans in general even though they ALSO don’t really know one thing about loki’s character outside of the mischaracterization from the series, and from fanon.
anyway putting this gif here because it’s cute and one of my faves ^_^

i know i've talked so much about it today, but i seriously cannot get loki season 2 out of my head. everything i have learned about it has been against my will
it's genuinely messed up that so much of the dialogue in the loki series is spent talking about how loki is a bad person and a murderer and etc. when the loki show itself is the one that cut his redemption arc short.
a redemption arc, btw, which was for things he was likely either forced or manipulated into doing— and don't come to me saying the thanos torture is a headcanon. rewatch Avengers 1. he is harmed and threatened on screen. thanos canonically tortures his own daughters. and him harming LOKI is a stretch? come on, now.
"itS nOt CAnOn" shut up. curse of allspeak:

new idea i just had
so sylvie will inevitably find out that loki can see her from his point of view. and she’s also working customer service. so do you think whenever something outrageous is going on, she looks off into the distance like jim from the office, knowing that loki can see what she’s going through?

Wtf did the Loki series spend all of S1 trying to prove that Sylvie is so fucking important and so much better than Loki only to do nothing with her in S2?
They said that she has a bunch of trauma from living in apocalypses her whole life but they never you know explore how she is traumatized. They don't acknowledge her life on Asgard at all. As far as I remember her enchantment powers which they acted like made her so different in S1 are pretty much never used in s2. They made it a big fucking deal that she wanted to live her life on that one timeline only to have that timeline be destroyed and her show practically no emotion towards it being destroyed. They don't even fucking confirm her Nexus Event which they very blatantly left open in season one as if that was something important.
Like omg she was literally only there so they could advertise fucking McDonald's for God's sake.

All the writers care about is who Loki is going to kiss. Mobius or Sylvie! 🙄 He’s just a toy for them to play with and pass around! 😣😖
