Disgustingly messy and crusty sketch dump but I couldn't get my own terrible theory out of my head and ended up making a bunch of sketches about it. Also at the end a bonus dickbats and Damian doodle bc I was reading an issue of their Batman and Robin run (IDs in Alt)
#dc comics#dc#batfamily#batman#damian wayne#stephanie brown#tim drake#dick grayson#cassandra cain#duke thomas#anyway. zdarsky run sure is something huh?#its still so funny to me that half of 148 was leaked a few days before like someone has it OUT for that book over at bleeding cool ig#i don't necessarily think this theory will come true I'm just imagining how stupid it would be if it did#I'm not super happy with the dialogue in the cass+duke+dick comic but i felt my og dialogue might've read too fanon#mainly just bc cass' last sentence was originally shorter/just ellipses and duke said smthin like ''wait? villain arc?''#which you could easily find in wayne family adventures. even tho it would've been appropriate for this situation 😭#now the dialogue just sounds kind of generic (esp cass') and it's BOTHERING ME AUGHH. this is the comic book fandom panopticon /j#anyway Bruce is in the retirement home in this scenario /j#me n my friends were talking over discord and came up w the cursed scenario that jason is tims robin in this (apart of the 'redemption' arc#-that he's been nail gunned with in this run. god this run is so weird when it comes to jason. like it doesn't outright dislike him-#-like it clearly does damian and (more obviously) cass steph and duke) but the tone of everything w jason is still bizarre#god. anyway yeah i didn't draw him but please picture grown man tank Jason in the robin undies (ala tt 03 but dare i say better)#also the dick being silly sketch was bc the issue i was reading had damian refer to dick as 'jolly'#specifically like ''unreasonably jolly'' or something like that (god i love when ppl find dicks cheerfulness deeply unsettling hehehe)#and i thought it was so funny. bc damian met dick when we has going through his ''bruce is dead'' depression-#-and STILL thought that dick was extremely unserious. he sees happy dick and is like ''what is wrong w you. genuinely''#but at the same time he loves it#i need to stop reading their batman and robin run so scatteredly (or i can just reread nightwing must die...always a possibility)#anyway yeah 👍 bad sketches be upon you#mine

Oh cute! Sure thing!

Content under the cut!
Arms wrapped around you into a snug embrace. Slowly, the body behind begins to lead you into a slow sway, even though you're trying to continue mixing the bowl, precariously balanced on the edge of the counter.
"What are you making?" He whispers by the shell of your ear. The subtle vibrations make your shiver. The delightfully pleasant sensations travels down your body, nearly making you drop the bowl in the process.
You pause and set the bowl further back. Turning in his arms, you poke his chest. "Link, what you trying to start?"
"Nothing." Legend grins back playfully. His smile is is a façade and you know it. It's to lead you into a false sense of security. But god, does it make him looks handsome.
You have to bite the inside of your cheek to keep from making anything that would imply shattered defenses. "Liar."
His smile grows.
"I'm making cookies." You answer him and gets an adorably boyish look on his face.
"Can I help?"
You should say no. He's no good in the kitchen. You're bound to make a mess as it is.
"Of course."
You step aside and allow him to mix the bowl while you go get more ingredients.
Legend curses under his breath from behind you. You turn and can't help it. You laugh. You snort. You giggle. Legend has somehow, in the very short seconds that you've turned your back on him, managed to get some of the flour on tunic with enough to make it looked stained beyond repair.
Legend wants to be annoyed.... But you're so cute. "Yeah, yeah- laugh it up. I know."
"I can't take you anywhere." You come back with the chocolate you were searching for and pick up a towel in the process. You set the chocolate on the counter and begin to clean up the flour on his chest. "I swear it's like you do this on purpose.
"I assure you I don't." A beat passes and Legend gets that same mischievous smile on his face.
You know what that means. "Don't you dar-!"
You're pulled into his arms and spun around, leaving the bowl of cookie batter where it was abandoned. You get flour on your own shirt as well. "Link!"
He laughs. "Now we match!"
You don't think you have it in you to be mad either. His smile and boyish amusement is too infectious.
"Fine, fine. Now we match."

One Piece x Reader
Just a random thought on situations involving these characters. No taking em seriously though .
One Piece characters x femreader.
_________________________________________
Luffy
Sometimes you questionhow the hell you allowed this man to make you join his crew. How the hell did you fall in love with him too?
1. You gotta fight for the food on your plate like it wasn't served to you specifically.
Tumblr media
2. Your captain be up to some dumb shit half the time. He legit sees the most dangerous looking island and wants to explore it. Like. No. I do not consent.
3. Though you both love each other and would do anything to keep each other safe and happy , ain't no way you about to make me pay that much money for the restaurant bill, I'm in enough debt with Nami. I'll still try to pay a little though. Just because I love you.
Sometimes Luffy be ready do the most outrageous things and all it takes is one look for him to back down. Sometimes he takes it as a challenge. This leads tothe most catastrophic day for the whole crew.
But the one thing is for sure, when this man sees you rocking the battlefield he be that guy who's cheering you on in the corner.
Tumblr media
Zoro
Two words. Nap buddies. Y'all be sleeping everywhere. Bed, deck, aquarium, crow's nest, random persons house, anywhere. That's when you're tired though.
Most times it's Zoro training and you watching every muscle tense, sweat dripping down slowly over delicious abs and the sound of grunts accompanying that. But your eyes wouldn't be fixed on that.
"How the hell are your boobs bigger than mine?" You randomly say one day as he's training.
Man dropped the weight he was lifting just too look at you like:
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
The moment he's done training you push him towards the bathroom for a good bath cause ain't no way you sleeping next to a sweaty man during the hottest days sailing across the Grandline. Throwing in that soap and water with love of course. Maybe even join, you never know.
When he gets lost he always finds you somehow. No one knows but everyone accepted it and knew that if they can't find him now he'll be by your side later on. If y'all leave him on an island by accident that's another issue.
Tumblr media
Though he doesn't act romantic most of the time he tries. He's so babygurl. He'll get you anything you like. Does little things to show he does care. Man would even carry you for a while across a desert just because you were a bit tired. Gets flustered at the attention you give him .
Would have a proud smirk whenever you mopped the floor with someone in a fight. In fact he'd feel sorry for the person you were gonna fight with.
If you were normally someone who didn't prefer fighting or couldn't fight at a high level of skill then he'd do his best to protect your ass. Maybe even teach you how to sword fight.
Law
The workaholic x the carefree
Funnily enough sometimes y'all would have a workload that might be just as the same amount but while he's stressing about it and completing his work you're out exploring the joys of life and appreciating nature.
And at the end of the day you come back to do the work and you're done within an hour or so. Which leaves this man looking at you like
Tumblr media
Sometimes you just randomly say something that pops up in your mind. It just happens. At first he was irritated with that habit until he noticed you don't do it unless you're with people you're comfortable with. Still doesn't stop the fact that he's ready to throw you off the Polar Tang.
"Why are you sitting like that?" He asked as you guys are in the middle of a town's shopping district.
"I'm trying to assert dominance." Said that with a serious face. Guess how you were sitting...
Tumblr media
I feel as though many would tell him to his face that he looks like a drug dealer.
"But he's a doctor."
It's the same thing just legal.
All in all y'all don't need to help each other in a fight. You need distance.
1. You don't wanna end up in some rando's body.
2. It would be a mess if y'all fought in the same place.
Nami
I feel like it would start off as flirty friendship.
Y'all just randomly complimenting each other. Hyping each other up. Defendimg each other.
May or not be based of my friendship with someone but she'd probably wack your butt atleast once, just because it's there and it was right in front of her.
People may think the both of you are in a relationship even.
Like average convo would be like
You: Why's it so hot all of a sudden, it was raining seconds ago.
Nami: Cause you graced the Grandline with your presence gurl.
You: Nah it's cause it can't handle how gorgeous you are.
Tumblr media
On a more serious-ish note, y'all would be a crazy fun trio with Ussop. Literally the first people to run out of dangerous situations.
Luckily you were atleast able to fight on the chance of someone really strong going after you guys. Ussop would be defence. Nami would be a bit of both.
Sometimes you, Robin, Nami, Ussop and maybe even Chopper would sit in the women's quarters and talk about anything and everything. Literally gossip, latest news over the transponder snail, anything.
But overtime that would change a bit between y'all. Not too much though.
If anyone came close to flirting with you besides her she would either;
1. If they owed her money she'd triple the interest.
2. Pull you away smoothly
Sometimes she'd even make your debt go up just by talking about someone you find attractive. Like...gurl why, I'm broke enough.
Tumblr media
When she finally confesses it's almost like...was there ever a difference? Because the both of you loved each other since you got to know one another. Both you are queens when it comes to ruling people's heart's with just a glance. But all you need is each other, maybe some cash too.
Robin
Can't say you guys got along in the first place with her working with Crocodile but once she had joined the crew you began to warm up around each other.
Most times you'd read together. Or you would ask about what she read about and all the things she knows about history.
Other times she'd want to hear what's on your mind be it you talking for a little or spilling out word vomit about everything and anything on your mind and she'd only look on with a gentle, loving smile.
Sometimes you worked together to scare your crewmates. Either her saying something like "We could actually die here." in the worst moment possibele, much to Ussop's dismay and you would add to that. Eyebags and everything and be like," what if we already are and we don't realise it."
Which leads to a small debate since the crew had gone through so much and all.
One thing I would definitely know for a fact is that the moment Robin was free and the moment you caught sight of Spandam, death would have been merciful compared to what you two did to that man.
Tumblr media
All in all, you and Robin would be like a love as calm as sitting together reading one book in the same blankets while there's a storm outside

"Why did you call me?"
"Why did you come?"
There isn't a good answer to his question, so you choose to ignore it in favor of keeping your eyes on the road, your fingers holding tightly onto the steering wheel. You don't know what to tell him. You yourself aren't even sure why you came to that bar, why Seungmin is sitting in your passenger seat right now just because he was drunk and he wouldn't let anyone take him home but you.
"I asked you first," you say. It takes an effort to keep your voice even, an effort not to look over at him.
"Don't know," he sounds like he couldn't care less, but that's always been Seungmin for you. "Old habits die hard, I guess. You were the only one I used to call."
You round a corner without even having to look at the GPS. The route to his place is still ingrained in your brain even after all this time. On some nights when you feel too stuffy indoors, you would go on a walk by yourself. Directionless for an hour or two, you just want to feel the wind wrap around your body and solid ground beneath your feet.
On these same nights, you would find yourself at Seungmin's door.
It's always unintentional, the way your feet would carry you to his home without your permission.
"Used to," you reiterate. "Past tense. You don't get to call me anymore. I'm not your chauffeur."
You feel his eyes on the side of your face. Then his voice, ever so calm and collected, "You came anyway, didn't you?"
His words irritate you for some reason, even though he means nothing bad. No malice in his voice; he's just simply stating a fact. You did come when he called, and perhaps the person that you're really annoyed with is only yourself, because why did you come?
He should be a stranger to you by now, and yet, you're here.
Maybe you know the answer. Maybe it's not a hard question at all.
You let the both of you wallow in silence for the rest of the drive. When you pull up to Seungmin's building about ten minutes later, you finally turn to cast your gaze upon him with your eyebrow slightly raised, a polite Get out if there ever was one.
Instead of taking the hint like a normal person and going on his merry way, he just stares at you with his big eyes and his hair still styled to perfection even after a night of celebrating and drinking. Seungmin loves to be difficult, this you can't ever forget.
"Well?" you press. "You're home."
He blinks, then swallows thickly. He looks around your car for a few seconds, unsure of himself. If he wasn't intoxicated, you would think he's trying to stall.
"I... I can't go up by myself," he says.
"Are you serious?"
He just nods, something expectant in his gaze.
"You're a grown man."
"Help me up." He doesn't sound all too drunk, but maybe he's just got a way of masking it because Seungmin would never outright ask for help. He's stubborn, and he thinks it makes him look weak. Incapable.
In the end, you give in to his request. You let him lean on you in the elevator on the way up to his floor, the scent of his cologne still overpowering the bourbon he had all night and it makes you just a little nostalgic.
At his door, you hold onto his waist and look away when he punches in the passcode. The door unlocks and this should be it for the two of you, your unexpected reunion should be ending the moment Seungmin crosses over to the other side of the threshold, but he just turns around and looks at you, his body against the frame of the door this time.
"There, you're home safely," you say. "I've done my part. Goodnight."
"Come in."
"Why?"
"I'm tired. Come in." And with that, Seungmin retreats into the apartment, leaving the door open for you to follow without any further explanation at all. For a moment, you stand there by yourself, not really sure of what to do. You hear him shuffling inside, before the sound of his body plopping onto the couch carries over to your ears.
What business do you have here? What business did you have with Seungmin in the first place today?
And yet, you find yourself trailing inside, closing the door behind you until the lock clicks into place. Maybe you're curious to see what the place looks like since the last time that you were here. The two of you never lived together - you weren't foolish enough to agree even though he did ask - but you were over often enough to consider this your second home.
Not much has changed. It's still the same minimalist four walls that you were used to. Same light gray paint, same black couch. Same framed signature of his favorite baseball player and same tiny crack in the decorative bowl on the coffee table. There's a photo on the credenza lying face down seemingly on purpose, but you don't say anything about it.
"What am I doing here?" you ask.
"Why did you come?" he shoots you the question for the second time tonight.
You blink at him. He only stares back.
"Why did you call me?" you repeat. "Why did you really call me?"
Questions thrown out but no answers received, like you're both running in circles, with neither of you knowing why you're even running in the first place.
Seungmin purses his lips before he stands up, the suddenness of the movement leaves him unsteady on his feet, makes him hold onto the couch's armrest for support. "Do you want some water?"
You bite the inside of your cheek. "Okay."
"Give me a second. Have a seat."
You watch as he pads into the kitchen a little wobbly, then returns a few minutes later with two glasses of water. He sits back down on the couch next to you, some distance dividing the two of you. He takes a sip, you do the same.
"Called you because I missed you," he says, casually admitting it like he was merely discussing the weather. The place hasn't changed, but maybe he has.
The last time you spoke to Seungmin was about six months ago, when he dropped off your things two weeks after you broke up. You haven't had any contact since, and that's exactly the way it should be for you and him now. You went your separate ways and that was it. A mutual agreement that hurts, but it was mutual nonetheless. For the past half a year, all he's been to you is a stranger. You know why it had to happen. You agreed to it.
But, just because you haven't talked, doesn't mean that you haven't thought of him. You wish he only crossed your mind in passing, wish your brain only conjured up the image of him whenever you saw something that he would like, or whenever you caught a glimpse of him on the TV or radio. In reality, it's been much more pathetic. You think of him almost every day, despite your best efforts to cleanse yourself of everything that's remotely related to the name Kim Seungmin. His absence carries itself with you all the time, a hollowness that seeps into every crevice of your life.
You know he means it. Seungmin doesn't lie, least of all to you. His honesty twists inside of you like a knife. Salt, meet wound.
You have no words to offer him, no response you can think of that would make sense to say out loud so you don't say anything. The only sound that falls from your lips is his name, like a warning, a plea, a consolation all at once.
But he doesn't seem to mind. Not his sudden vulnerability, not your reluctance to entertain that split second of honesty.
"I answered your question. Now you have to answer mine," he says. "Why did you come?"
"What do you want me to tell you?"
He doesn't respond right away. Instead, he takes a moment like he's mulling it over in his head. "Thought maybe you missed me too," he says eventually, ending the sentence with a bitter chuckle. "Just a little bit."
You tongue your cheek, stall with another sip of water before you place the glass on the table. On a coaster of course, Seungmin hates cup rings on his fancy table.
You lean back to rest on the couch, staring up at his boring ceiling. There are memories of you on this very couch, ones of you lying with your head on his lap as he plays with your hair, the two of you winding down after a long day. Or ones that are far too inappropriate to bring up ever again, of nights where you were both too desperate and impatient to take it to the bedroom. Those gentle reminders are still here somewhere, tucked between the cushions perhaps.
"Sure." You hum, nodding along. "Let's go with that."
Another chuckle, humorless. Though, you think he's pleased enough with that non-answer but you're not sure. He mirrors your position, falling into the couch with a sigh. From your peripheral vision, you think he's scooched closer to you, just by a few centimeters, in the process of settling into the sofa.
"My turn," you say. "Why do you want me here?"
"What is this, 21 questions?"
You shrug simply. "You asked me to come in. I'm just curious."
When Seungmin stays silent for a beat too long, you turn your head to watch him, thinking maybe he's knocked out because of the alcohol in his system. But you find him wide awake, his eyes staring ahead, looking like he's already sober.
His face is unreadable when he says, "Wanted to see something."
"See what?"
"See if something is still there."
It's your turn to remain quiet as you process his words, and it's Seungmin who has to turn to gauge your reaction.
"And? Is anything still there?" you ask.
"I don't know, you tell me. You're the one that stayed."
"Does it matter? If I say there is?"
"Of course it does."
"What would you do about it?"
He goes still once more. You know he doesn't have an answer to your question. What would he do? What could he even do? Patch things up only for them to fall apart again in a couple months? Once upon a time, you were naive enough to think that you could find a way to make it work. You had enough blind faith to think that it would all work out in the end; that if you wanted it enough, maybe the universe would let you have this one thing.
You return your gaze to the ceiling. He's shown you his cards, maybe it's only fair that you show him some of yours too.
An uncertain inhale, then the realization that this is the only time you would be able to have an honest conversation with him about this.
"Wanna hear something funny?" you ask.
"I have a feeling you're gonna tell me anyway."
It's anything but funny, and Seungmin is certain that you're not building up to a punchline. Sure, it's a little tragic that nothing matters, but there's some freedom, some comfort in that too. You can tell him everything that's plagued your mind for the past couple hundred days or so without having to worry about the repercussions. Even though not all is said, everything is already done.
"You know, you were mine before you were anyone else's," you say. You feel his eyes on the side of your face. The silence persists, and you aren't sure if you can take it as a sign to continue, but you do so anyway because at least he's not pumping the brakes on it, right? "I used to be jealous of your life. Toward the end, I mean."
"Jealous of what?"
"I don't know. Just your life, your dream. All of it."
Seungmin blinks. "You were jealous that I got to live my dream?"
"I said I was jealous of your life, not you," you correct him. "Because you always seemed to want everything else more than you wanted me."
"You make it sound like I was the bad guy." He turns a little defensive all of a sudden, an edge in his voice when he says, "That's not true."
You still remember him well enough to know that it is.
And it's not such a terrible thing; it's simply the truth. You can't fault him for having a dream and for having enough courage to see it through, even if it means unintentionally leaving you behind in the process. You could foresee the end even from the beginning. If you wanted to blame someone, you would have to blame yourself too.
You swerve around his metaphorical walls, his make-believe suit of armor. If you'd been nervous around Seungmin tonight, then that anxiety is now chipping away brick by brick the more you internalize the fact that nothing matters anymore.
"Remember your last show before we broke up? You were so happy, I was so proud of you. You belong on stage and I never wanted to take that away from you. But then I noticed the crowd, the thousands of people out there cheering your name and I realized that I would never compare to them. Their praise meant more to you than mine, and it was only a matter of time before you outgrew me to look for bigger and better spotlights.
"I'm not saying you were wrong for any of it. I don't blame you. You were always going to outgrow me. It's sad, but it's okay. I always knew that you'd have to leave me behind at some point. It's on me too; I just fell too hard too fast for someone who could never stay. It's your dream, you can't help it. But that night... that was the nail in the coffin for me, knowing that one day, to you, I would be just one of the faces in a crowd that you can't even tell apart."
It doesn't hurt as much as you thought it would. In fact, it's even a little cathartic to pour out the words that have been sitting heavy on your chest. Although it's not until a single tear spills over that you realize your eyes have welled up somewhere along the way. You quickly wipe it away with your thumb, then you feel his hand reach for yours after a few beats.
Seungmin calls your name, and you can hear the regret in his voice. When you look at him, his eyes have softened, no longer on the defense now that you've beat him to the offense. "I'm not drunk enough to forget about this in the morning, you know," he says.
"Does it matter? What are you going to do about it in the morning?" you ask. "We're already broken up. It's not like we can go anywhere from here. But at least now you know what it was like for me."
It seems to be a common theme tonight - stretches of silence in between admissions of truth so that one of you can gauge the other's reaction, trying to assess what path would be worth it to take at this crossroad you find yourselves unable to move on from.
Then he's tugging on your hand, pulling you to him until you're in each other's orbit again. Close enough for him to wrap his arm around you. Close enough that you're weak, not that you were ever that strong to begin with. It doesn't really come as a surprise that you let him.
"I..." Seungmin starts, full of uncertainty as he tries to string together a sentence. "We could go back."
This isn't a surprise either, that you're considering his words.
"What happens when it ends again?"
You can practically taste the residual bourbon on his breath when he leans into you, his lips brushing your cheek just slightly. "Then it ends again," he says, a little pained, all too selfish. "But it'll be worth it. It's worth it to me."
"What if it's not what I want? What if it's not worth it to me?"
He pulls back, putting some distance between your faces so he could see you better, the deep brown of his eyes searching for something that you're both aware of.
"You came tonight," he murmurs, as if that in and of itself is a sufficient enough explanation. "You stayed."
Not all is said, but everything is already done.
You had chance after chance after chance to leave, to shut this down - whatever this is - but you didn't, not even once. You're still a willing participant even though you've lived through this ending before. You know he loved you, know he loves you even if the way he goes about it is selfish.
Because you do know the answer to his questions. It's clear as day; anyone can see it from a mile away.
When your world eventually comes crashing down again some time from now, you won't blame Seungmin. You won't blame yourself either, despite having option to walk away from all of this right now.
Because maybe some pains are worth enduring twice, aren't they?
Why did you come? Why did you stay?
Is anything still there?

It sounded like you needed a distraction and based in your comments section, for chaotic mini Garp.
How much trouble do you think a Luffy raised by Dragon and Crocodile would be?
Not significantly less trouble than a Luffy that grew up how we does in the manga I think!
Would he be even more trouble? Maybe? He could have connections in the Grand Line, but I don't really see him making use of that, since he just wants to adventure and see the world. He'll make these connections based on his own merit, never stopping to say "hey, by the way. The guy you say is trying to take over your country? That's my dad." X'D
In the Stinky Child AU he does still end up spending a lot of time with Ace and Sabo since both of his parents have "jobs" that take them away from home for long stretches of time. I imagine that Dragon and Crocodile are trying their best to coordinate so that Luffy's never without either of them, but it gets trickier when Crocodile relocates to Alabasta. So that means his brothers, Garp, Dadan and Makino - and later Shanks - are his points of reference.
He just has more parental supervision and parents who adore him and want the best for him (and also try to communicate that, somewhat successfully) but how normal can his childhood really be? Let's be honest, how much do Dragon and Crocodile know about a normal childhood?
Dragon might say Garp's unreasonable training is fine and Crocodile (if we also go for Kuja Crocodile) grew up on an island with no shortness of dangers (and a culture based in fighting and strength). Garp can take him to the mountain, after Luffy has done his homework though.
(I'm exaggerating, I don't think they'd want for him to be in danger, be scared or hurt. Garp has to go over his training methods.)
The values that they might instill in Luffy would generally still be the same he ends up having now. Luffy's a silly guy, but can be insightful and smart, even though he's just a teenager.
His parents probably tried to make him (and Ace and Sabo) go to school, maybe both with different hopes for the kid's future, but if your dads are clearly spending a lot of time on sea having adventures (he doesn't know what they do) AND then you meet Shanks, who's having a lot of fun and could take you to the Grand Line where your parents are... Well... The island isn't going to keep him forever.
The whole reason Dragon and Crocodile raised him the way they did was to give him the freedom to forge his own path in life. And he will do that, unerringly. They just hoped that he might be a bit smarter going about it... X3

Inviting Dan Feng to a Starskiff cruise around the fleet for a leisure outing was a bold move by yours truly. You just thought he needed some break for working hours tiredly between a High Cloud Quintet and being a High Elder at the same time.
Surely, this would give him the opportunity to relax and unwind from his demanding responsibilities. As a close friend of his, you knew that Dan deserved a chance to escape the pressure of his busy life and enjoy some well-deserved time off.
If it means having your back ache from all dragging him to the designated location, whether he likes it or not...
The Starskiff cruise promised breathtaking views and luxurious amenities, making it the perfect setting to rejuvenate from a hectic schedule. So this opportunity cannot be missed.
Behind you, you heard a sigh as the two of you strolled toward in silence. It wasn't an uncomfortable feeling, but rather a shared understanding of the need for this getaway.
"Was this necessary?" Dan Feng inquired frankly. "You, out of all people, know how much I value my time on duty rather than these shenanigans of yours."
"If your work is really that important, you wouldn't be here now, would it?" You teased, raising an eyebrow. "Besides, everyone needs a break once in a while, even the most dedicated workaholics like you."
"I'm not a workaholic."
"Your eyebags said otherwise."
The high elder could only grumble in response, but the corners of his mouth twitched slightly, betraying a hint of amusement.
The tension between them seemed to dissipate as the two of you continued your walk, with the sound of the wind rustling through the atlas providing a calming backdrop to your conversation.
"So..." You paused, glancing over at the high elder. "What's really been bothering you lately?"
The high elder's expression softened slightly at your question, and he let out a weary sigh. He seemed hesitant for a moment, as if he were reluctant to admit the truth.
"I suppose I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately," he admitted, his voice tinged with fatigue. "There are numerous responsibilities on my shoulders, and it's beginning to weigh me down a bit."
He took a deep breath, letting the wind and the resonance of the atlas soothe his weary mind. You nodded, understanding his words. Although you never know what the burdening pressure of leadership truly felt like, you could empathize with the toll it was taking on him.
"I can only imagine," you said sympathetically. "But you always seem to handle everything so well. How do you do it?"
The high elder chuckled softly, his eyes crinkling at the corners.
"I wouldn't say I handle everything well," he said with a wry smile. "I have my moments of doubt and frustration just like everyone else. I just try to stay level-headed and prioritize what needs to be done first."
He paused, looking out at the landscape before continuing, "But it does get lonely at times, having all this responsibility on my shoulders. It can be a heavy burden to carry."
Sighing, his turquoise eyes then glint toward you. Despite the midnight vignette that surrounds you, his eyes often shine under the moonlight's soft glow, conveying a sense of vulnerability hidden beneath his usual stoicism. You could see a flicker of sentiment like nostalgia and yearning flash across his face.
"I often wish..." His voice came out soft and wistful. "Prior to this day, I longed for those days where we often indulged ourselves together, carefree and without a worry in the world. Those memories are what keep me going in the darkest of times."
For a brief moment, it was as if he was lost in thought, his expression uncharacteristically open and vulnerable.
You couldn't help but notice the change in his demeanor. You felt a sudden rush of heat to your face, your heart skipping a beat. The realization that he might be missing your presence made you feel both surprised and a little flustered.
'Get it together! RAHFHWEBNEHFHC⏤'
"I too missed our moments together." You felt your lips twitching upward. Your thoughts whirls like a turbulent hurricane yet you stayed composed.
Tender moments like these, where emotions were raw and unguarded, were rare but cherished.
The unspoken connection between you both was perceptible—a silent understanding that transcended words.
Not before long, the Starskiff ship you had rented for both you and Dan Feng was ready to set sail across the vast expanse of the Xianzhou Luofu. The sail unfurled with a gentle whoosh, carrying you both into the unknown trip that awaited.
Stars illuminated the midnight atlas, adding a touch of romance to the journey ahead. The cool night air wrapped around you like a comforting blanket as you leaned against the railing and let yourself be carried away by the gentle sway of the ship.
You enjoyed the stillness of the night while your companion relished the scene before him. He silently spectated your every move with lingering affection. You look so peaceful, staring upon the expanse of the universe above the both of you.
His heart swelled with endearment as he watched you enjoying this evening rendezvous with a set of merriment⏤ feeling grateful for this moment of tranquility together. The soft glow of the starlight seemed to reflect the warmth of his feelings for you.
He doesn't normally indulge himself in the subject of romance, believing that it would add to his sense of obligation which already brimmed with his responsibilities of his current status.
But alas, you are an exception. Oh, how fortunate you are~ In this very moment, he couldn't help but feel flooded by the depth of his emotions.
As the ship continued its journey through the night, he made a silent vow to cherish these moments with you for as long as he could.
'I wonder if our future aligns with the stars.' He thought to himself, uncertain for the forthcoming events that would inevitably change the very course of your lives.
The gentle hum of the ship's engines seemed to echo his sentiment, creating a sense of harmony between the two of you and the vast universe surrounding you.
"Welcome to the Starskiff Jetty. A port for all Starskiff ships lands and takes off. I'm certain you are aware that this is the official entrance to the Xianzhou Luofu." The tour guide optimistically gestured towards the bustling crowd of travelers.
After the big event that transpired, you and Dan Heng thought to take a stroll through the bustling streets of his home planet. Why not? Take it as a reward for all the assistance that the Astral Express has provided.
You tugged at the ens of his sleeves and suggested, "Dan Heng, let's ride a starskiff!"
Stream of jaded nostalgia seem to caress his mind for a second.
Like a child filled with wonders and curiosity, the said man only sighed at your enthusiasm and replied, "I suppose we could, but let's make sure to be back in time for the departure of the Astral Express."
And with that, you both set off towards the Starskiff rental station, taking a Starskiff cruise around the bustling town.
Oh, the faded memories are soon to resurface.

Well... I think I've kind of had enough of participating in the loa community here on Tumblr. It has just become an echo chamber of certain beliefs due to people getting all their information solely from Neville and this platform, and also there are increasingly more posts telling people "you don't need to do anything to use the Law! You don't need to persist in assumptions, you don't need to visualize, you don't need to affirm, you don't need to believe, you don't need to..." ad infinitum. I'm reading one post after another listing all the things related to the Law, which then go on to say, "And you don't need to do any of these things to make use of it!" How are you going to literally define the Law and then say that you don't need to apply it to make use of it? It makes zero sense.
The Law is already so simple. The only thing required is to properly focus your mind and imagination on what you want, and to hold the correct mindset. This game of fervent make-believe is so simple that children are able to do it with ease. And here we have a lot of adults who are asked to do so little to achieve their dreams, and now are annoyed at the thought that they have to do 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. I'm all for finding alternative ways to manifest, but so much of this sounds like people who simply don't like rules or structure of any kind and therefore want to tell everyone that none of that is needed. They don't like feeling that they have to be even the 𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘴𝘵 bit disciplined, such as in persisting in an assumption, so they're trying now to act as if what you assume about yourself and the world doesn't matter. And it absolutely does. What you continue to assume manifests, what you think about and give your attention to manifests, and choosing to pretend otherwise won't change the result. And Neville said the same thing.
It seems that this "anything goes" attitude is watering down the community into something that is very much not loa, and I really don't think this lack of discipline is going to help anyone, but people will just have to figure that out for themselves. Good luck to everyone.

"Do you even intend to quit – not really" 🧐
After reading Chapter 58 I thought about this exchange between Yashiro and Kage for a bit:
Tumblr media
At first sight this might suggest that Yashiro actually considers staying in the Yakuza. I think based on what we know and how this statement is framed though, I come to the conclusion that this suggests the exact opposite in fact; Yashiro’s reluctance to stay in the Yakuza shines through yet again.
Granted, in the above scene Yashiro does in fact say that he doesn’t really want to quit BUT what he said before that stood out to me. Confronted by Kage about how he’s still affiliated with the Yakuza he first diverts his question by saying „don’t say things as if you’re an ordinary person“; I think this points out that Yashiro doesn’t like to think of himself as that different from Kage (or „civilian“ people in general, probably), he’s sorta putting the two of them onto the same level… outwardly he appears to lower Kage’s „status“ as a law-abiding citizen to his own, but, objectively speaking they both know that Kage is not in fact a shady person (at least from what I can tell, after all, he doesn’t appear to be affiliated with any „shady“ people apart from Yashiro and Kage always complains about Yashiro dragging him into these affairs). So, what this ends up doing is lifting Yashiro’s status up (I hope I’m phrasing this in a way that makes sense). Anyway, I think what this conveys is that Yashiro still looks down on Yakuza members (he’s definitely not proud of being one) and that he’s still not fully comfortable with people viewing him as a member or even acknowledging his Yakuza-status himself. He then goes on to say that it’s not easy to leave. Now, this could suggest a) that it has been on his mind (which we already know to be true) and b) that he feels the need to justify the fact that he’s still affiliated with them. Only when Kage questions him again Yashiro finally says that he doesn’t REALLY want to leave. His way of phrasing it doesn’t sound super convincing and he probably says that to get Kageyama off his case and also because, if he is honest with himself, he still can’t see himself actually taking that step after all. I know I might be reading too much into this but it stood out to me that Yashiro didn’t just throw Kage a snarky comment like „why the hell wouldn’t I still be a member?“, in the same vein as his first comment „what kind of upstanding guy runs a shady illegal casino?“ Instead he is somewhat opening up to Kage in his own way.
Anyway, this conversation is yet another puzzle piece that plays into the theory I’ve had from the beginning, that Yashiro will leave the Yakuza eventually. From all we know so far, Yashiro has never really come to terms with being a Yakuza and has generally a very negative opinion of them. The topic of Yashiro struggling to accept this role and the re-occurring questioning of what makes a Yakuza, who’s a good Yakuza, who’s not fit to be one, etc. strongly suggests to me that this is an integral part of this story as a whole and is most probably gonna be relevant to the conclusion of the story. It’s made clear that Yashiro never wanted to be Yakuza in the first place and he’s still reluctant, like… some 20 long years later 😯. I don't want to include too many quotes here because there are far too many instances that could be mentioned and this post is already getting too loooong, as you'll see 🫣, but there are some I'd like to mention. First I'd like to point to one quote from Yashiro that leads me to believe that to him being a Yakuza is not in fact his real identity but rather a role he is playing. He says to Ryuuzaki in Chapter 5:
Tumblr media
He sees himself more as an actor rather than a real Yakuza and interestingly enough, that’s what he had aspired to become as a teenager: (aspire might be too strong of a word here but I think in a way he really did):
Tumblr media
Now, I know that I'm arguing that Yashiro is talking about himself here ,even though, he's not just referring to himself in his comment to Ryuuzaki but the fact that he talks about Yakuza being just like actors in general and then further generalizing his statement to „people spend their lives acting“ still plays nicely into Yashiro's perception of his own life which will become relevant in a bit *bear with me*; it suggests that he thinks that people are not really free to be themselves because they have to play their role which emphasizes his passive approach to life in general „I have lived my life accepting it all“ (I reference this quote further down).
Every time Misumi tries to drag him in deeper, Yashiro is acting completely reluctant. We first saw this in the very beginning of the story when Misumi and Yashiro talk about the succession and Misumi says to Yashiro „be mine once more“ (Yashiro doesn’t want to give him an answer), when we learn through Hirata’s secret recordings about the details of another conversation between Misumi and Yashiro in Chapter 14 (Yashiro still doesn’t give a straight answer) and we see it again in Chapter 36 when Misumi basically says to Yashiro „don’t forget what you are“ after the time-skip (Yashiro distracts Misumi from the conversation by provoking him). He doesn't agree to anything but he never outright refuses either (he's completely passive).
His reluctance is further demonstrated by the fact that after the time-skip Yashiro’s not really a full member anymore. He used what happened after Hirata’s attack on him to the best of his abilities in a way to distance himself from the group but he couldn’t take the last step. But this clearly points to Yashiro wanting to get out for good.
I think it’s noteworthy that the only time he completely rejects the idea of quitting (as far as I remember), is in Chapter 27 when he speaks to Ryuuzaki in the back of the police car:
Tumblr media
This stands out to me because he says this after he’d made up his mind that he was gonna die. So why keep fighting it at this point? (I’m so glad our cute boy is not in such a dark place anymore 😭)
Yashiro has also tried to keep Doumeki out of this world because he cares so much about him. Unfortunately, he wasn’t successful but the statement Yashiro made about the Yakuza in Chapter 22 becomes relevant again, now that Doumeki got a back tattoo (which as we all know made Yashiro furious beyond belief). Yashiro said something along the lines of „do you have any idea how many upright citizens walk around out there with full body tattoos? And how many Yakuza wear normal business suits?“( I hope this translation is somewhat accurate . I had to take it from the official German translation which is not the most exact at times but the only English translation I could find, didn’t seem to be correct 😅) Basically he’s saying, it’s never too late to quit. This was some unfortunate foreshadowing if you ask me but it gives me hope that Doumeki’s status as a full-fledged member and him getting a tattoo won’t prevent them from leaving the Yakuza world behind.
I just cannot imagine Yoneda-sensei making this aspect such an integral part of Yashiro’s character and bringing this topic up again and again if it isn’t gonna be relevant in the end… I know it might be a red herring but I really doubt it at this point. I read the manga as a story of a traumatized survivor of SA finding happiness in life (yes, I’m very hopeful that both Doumeki and Yashiro are gonna make it out alive because anything else would be too cruel🫣). For Yashiro the Yakuza is a hindrance to his freedom and happiness because it’s not who he truly is as a person and as long as he stays he’s going to be under Misumi’s control and Misumi is gonna try to use him, just like his stepfather and all the other men who SAed him when he was a teenager used him. In a way he’s still this powerless child getting used by others. He was an easy target for Misumi because Yashiro was „completely indifferent about himself“ as Misumi put it. This indifference stems from the abuse he suffered. When Yashiro got shot he remembered the SA and he says: „I have lived my life accepting it all. I’ve felt no sorrow. I’ve blamed no one. My life can’t be said to be anyone else’s fault.“ This expresses exactly what Misumi saw in Yashiro: He’s so broken that he doesn't even feel anger, he is beyond caring about himself, his well-being, his future. Putting it differently; he doesn’t love himself and he doesn’t think that he deserves love or a different, better life. This is why he doesn’t really put up a fight against this fate. He’s still passively accepting everything.
To sum this up, it’s mainly his trauma that prevents him from quitting, just like it keeps him from being able to accept Doumeki’s love. Since I believe this story is about Yashiro overcoming his trauma and finding happiness, I think it would only be fitting that once he’ll be able to accept that he is deserving of love, hope and happiness, he’d finally find the courage to take control of his own fate and break away from the path that he felt forced to follow.
And yes, I'm aware that quitting won't be that easy because of Misumi's obsession over Yashiro BUT even though I don't like Misumi too much and I think he's a creep, he's in his own way quite lenient when it comes to Yashiro, I have to give him that. So, I have high hopes that he actually meant what he said about "caring about Yashiro as a person" and will let him leave without too much trouble.
Of course we don’t know much about Doumeki’s plans for his future but if Yashiro and him end up together (which is what I’m hoping for) he’ll most likely go along with Yashiro’s wishes, I guess 😉 And I know, sweet Nanahara would be disappointed but I bet Yashiro and Doumeki would still find a way to adopt their big baby boy into their little family 😜
maybe they’re gonna open up a beach bar in Hawai’i and Nanahara would flirt with the guests and give away all the drinks for free 🤣
On a more serious note, I hope I didn’t get any of the quotes completely wrong. Nuances tend to get lost in translation so it’s kinda "risky" to base a theory like this solely on translations but most of it comes down to my personal interpretation of the story anyways. And I’m sorry if most of this seemed too obvious but I got the impression that I seem to feel more strongly about the fact that Yashiro might gonna leave his days as a Yakuza behind than others in the fandom and I felt the need to present my case 😉
If you actually made it through my ramblings to down here, you deserve some 🍪🍪🍪 😘

We have all seen the edits and drawings of Dutch with "I'm your man" by Mitiski, more specifically with the lyrics "you believe me like a god, I betray you like a man," but it is not just those lyrics that fits Dutch and practically the entirety of the gang.
(Warning I am not a huge Mitiski fan so I will just take the lyrics as they are without any deeper meaning and compare them to red dead to give them a deeper meaning)
While the whole "you believe me like a god" might make it sound like the "me" also sees themselves as a god as well or at least superior to the other party, that is not the case.
"You're an angel, I'm a dog
Or you're a dog and I'm your man."
This part hints at confusion between standing of the two parties. The "I" isn't sure about what their position is with the other party, either the "you" is an angel and themselves a dog, someone lesser, something lesser, or the "I" is a man and the "you" a dog. The "I" never put themselves as something eternal, they never claim to be unworldly or godly, instead they willingly put themselves underneath the "you" and only above them in the same way a man would an animal, a dynamic that while it might hold love also is clear on who is in control.
Dutch and Arthur's dynamic is constantly changing. On one hand, Arthur is a workhorse, the one Dutch sends our for his dirty work, the one Dutch knows he can control and make him do anything, on the other hand we have their family dynamic of Dutch saying that Arthur means more to him than what a son would and acting as if he is the best thing ever.
"You believe me like a god
I'll destroy you like I am."
While the "I" never sees themselves superior, the "you" puts the "I" on a pedestal, making them their god and the "I" takes advantage of that and destroys the "you." This is similar to Dutch and Arthur. Dutch was not a good man ever, while he and the others did do their Robinhood act, they were never good men, they killed, they robbed and they ruined, but Arthur saw Dutch as a god or a father more than a mere mentor and Dutch ruined Arthur for that in the end.
"I'm sorry I'm the one you love
No one will ever love me like you again."
The "I" knows they are bad, they know they are ruining the other and they know that they will never get the loyalty that the "you" gave them again. While this might not seem like Dutch and Arthur, it very much is in the end.
Dutch in the end when Arthur is dying seems angry, frustrated and conflicted, because while he is seeing his son dying, he knows there is something he does not know. While he feels angry that Arthur did what he did, he never did think Arthur was a "betrayer", he thought John was, he thought John was talking to the Pinkertons and had convinced Arthur that Dutch was bad. He felt sad that Arthur was dying because of John and his manipulation and he knows he will never find the loyalty Arthur gave him again from anyone, and he is right, even in 1911, he has yet to find someone like Arthur.
"So when you leave me, I should die
I deserve it, don't I?"
I am of the firm belief that Dutch spent a long while alone after Arthur's death because the newspapers while talking of him, do not mention another gang, only the old one, and in red dead one they speak as if Dutch's gang is fairly new which would also explain why the Agents were suddenly able to locate him, because he became active again.
This could be to lay low, or it could be because he was thinking over what he had done and what had happened, and considering how much Arthur meant to him it wouldnt be strange to say he might have spent some years in self hatred or pity.
"I can feel it gettin' near
Like flashlights comin' down the way
One day you'll figure me out
I'll meet judgment by the hounds."
This is where it gets a bit more tricky because I believe the "you" changes here, where "you" were Arthur before, it can now be seen as John.
In 1911 John is hunting down Javier and Bill, something Dutch no doubt knew and heard about, while he might have hoped to be able to defeat John, he would have known that John would come for him and he would be able to "see him come near" as he kills off the two others. Dutch knows one day John will be his end, one day John will figure him out and he will have to face the consequences of his actions.
"People always gave me love
Others were never to blame after all."
This is quite obvious how it comes to Dutch, they gave Dutch everything, they gave him their lives to lay if he so wish and in the end it was not their fault that the gang split up. No it was not Micah's fault, while Micah did manipulate, he never forced Dutch's hand, even without Micah Dutch would have lost himself down the road, it was in the end Dutch's fault.
"You believe me like a god
I'll betray you like a man."
John loved Dutch, maybe even more than Arthur, after all John is often seen as Dutch's son while Arthur is seen as Hosea's, not just by the fandom but the characters as well. We see characters call John Dutch's golden boy and his pet. It was also Arthur who had to convince John and truly let him see what Dutch was doing, to let him know that the concerns he had were true.
Dutch removed the noose from John's neck when John was twelve, saving him like a miracle, yet Dutch shot at John in the end like he was no one special, just another man to be put in the ground.

The Gaunt Brothers🐍
A somewhat deep conversation
Ominis: *enters the Den basement to find Marvolo* Urgh. I was hoping you'd be in your office, so I didn't have to come down here.
Marvolo: *turns from what he was doing to look at Ominis* What are you doing here?
Ominis: Here for the logs, on fathers behalf, again. I HATE it when he sends me here.
Marvolo: Go back to the office, third drawer down on my desk.
Ominis: *nods and goes to leave*
Marvolo: Actually, wait. Before you go, I have a question.
Ominis: Sure.
Marvolo: To my left is a prisoner. Currently under a sleeping spell while I tied him up..I'm going to kill him.
Ominis: Of course you are.. And what has he done to deserve death?
Marvolo: Terrible things..
Ominis: What terrible things? Besides crossing you, clearly.
Marvolo: ..I suppose the SAME terrible things that I also indulge in..But my question is, if some folk hero killed him, why would it be celebrated? Yet if I were to do it, it's bloody murder, and morally wrong?
Ominis: *thinks for a moment* ..I would say a folk hero would do it for the protection of the people. Whereas you do it for your own personal gain.
Marvolo: *chuckles* Are you telling me a folk hero doesn't kill those who need killing for personal gain?
Ominis: What are they gaining?
Marvolo: Love of the people? Trust? A name for themselves?
Ominis: There's a difference though.
Marvolo: Which is?
Ominis: Well..Folk heros aren't corrupt. You are. Folk heros work alongside the people..You work the underground scene, brutally, viciously, for your OWN reasons.
Marvolo: Fair point.
Ominis: Do you WANT to be a folk hero?
Marvolo: God no *chuckles* I was just curious about your opinion, that's all.
Ominis: ....
Marvolo: So, does he deserve death?
Ominis: *shrugs* ...Most likely, yes.
Marvolo: Do I deserve death?
Ominis: ...I believe we both know the answer to that, Marvolo.
Marvolo: But I want to hear you say it.
Ominis: *sigh* ...Probably...There, happy?
Marvolo: *chuckles* Would YOU kill me, given the chance? If it made you a hero among the people?
Ominis: ..No.
Marvolo: Interesting..Why?
Ominis: Because you're my blood. I don't think I could kill my blood. If I could, I'd have probably killed Father a LONG time ago.
Marvolo: Fascinating.
Ominis: *narrows his eyes* Would YOU kill your blood?
Marvolo: My answer is the same as yours..
Ominis: ..Are you trying to test my loyalty or something?
Marvolo: No, simply asking you some questions that I was curious about. I don't need to test your loyalty, Ominis..
Ominis: You sound very confident that you have it.
Marvolo: Do I not?
Ominis: *sigh* As much as I hate to admit, Brother, yes, you do.
Marvolo: Likewise, Brother.
Ominis: Now, I should probably go and get those logs.
Marvolo: I should probably kill this filth.
Ominis: Marvolo Gaunt "Protector of the people..Local folk hero" *chuckles*
Marvolo: *clicks his tongue but chuckles* Shut up.

just curious though what johnnys punishments include?🤔 NEED to know ‘cause i know that man spanks like no other and denies us orgasms on the regular🫣possibly puts some form of chastity belt on, likely made by hitchhiker or nancy…why does a bone chastity belt sound so fashion forward😭
but i would put that man’s needs before mine always…AND HE DEFINITELY IS INTO CHOKING-🎀
the way I got this ask from you twice,, I'M SORRY!! I'm a reblog addict but my posting has gone downnnn😅
Anywho--punishment headcanons!
~~~
I'm going to start with general acts then move on to objects.
His hands. His hands could honest be something entirely on their own because they're so multi-faceted. Spanking, choking, general roughness. All of them vary on intensity based on how much he thinks we deserve it. Part of me thinks that they would be done on the regular for fun, so the choking would leave bruises and be genuinely painful for the recipient. Same for spanking, he just goes harder, not letting himself hold back as much as he normally would. He would also not hesitate to hone in on general slapping on the face and body. Anywhere he can leave a mark.
Asking to masturbate in front of him while he's fully clothed and you're in nothing, seems like a good punishment for him.
Dare I say the silent treatment from him could be hot? His cold stare, the burning feeling you'd get from never knowing what he could do if left alone in a room with you. From dangerous to somewhat pleasurable, it's unpredictable. Just passing him during the day and wondering if he'll pin you against the nearest wall. The only thing you can read is what he exudes. To top it all off, he only speaks when he's going to say something rude or demeaning until he's no longer upset at you. Until then, it's all grunts and heaving breathing during sex, grunts for commands in his shack.
Now for objects! (Under the cut cause the bone chastity belt got a little graphic!)
Okay, so as you said, the homemade chastity belt would be the first punishment. Johnny having a significant other that isn't into biting or marking? Well, this is the next best option! Now, it depends on how brutal you want it to be. Nubbins and Nancy seem to have a common theme of barbed wire being their main use of damage in their traps, with Nubbin's using bone's collected for some extra tagging on his victim's feet. So, the "belt" part of it could be bones strung together with barbed wire, or the part that loops around the waist/hips could simply be barbed wire. One is very stiff with little snags on the skin and the other is more flexible, but will leave scars and requires the person to be very careful about their movements. This is sounding like a saw trap! The component blocking someone from having sex varies depending on what they're packing of course. For someone with a dick, I'm picturing some kind of small animal ribcage that's chipped to size and strung to the other bones. For someone with a pussy, I'd think that some long flat bone-shaped piece could go there. Maybe the piece of an antler? This sounds really illogical but I'm like 3d printing the image in my head lmao. The main point is that it's uncomfortable for the wearer and prevents sex, and any iteration of a bone chastity belt, less or more extreme than this, would work.
Obviously, I'd be remissed if I didn't mention his belt too! Him using that to achieve harder spanking against your ass, using it for choking when his hands are occupied holding your hips, tying your hands or legs together.
Kind of a weird one to add, but I headcanon that Nancy has vibrators since they've been around for a long time and she hasn't had a husband to satisfy her in ages... So, Johnny occasionally busts them out since I know he wouldn't know where to get them to use on you.
Lastly, his beer bottles! This ties into the whole silent treatment thing with Johnny, where he deprives you of his dick and instead makes you pleasure yourself with a freshly finished off glass bottle. Still slick around the rim with his saliva, so it's not too bad, but it's not him.
The problem about wanting to to infodump about SVSSS is it includes wanting to talk about fanfics that I'm really in love with and the only person usually willing to listen is my 15 year old who then infodumps about the Percy Jackson fanfic they are obsessed with
Which so fine but it does mean I'll be gushing about a hurt/comfort sick fic and the Teenager will say something like "That does sound cute but how is he going to get cured" and I freeze for a moment and have to say "we won't talk about that" and my kid Judges Me™
To be clear my kid knows that the setting of SVSSS is a fictional novel that was "Toxic Masculinity! The Novel!" set in Porn Trope Land. We just don't discuss what that means
Just like we don't discuss the time we were watching a YouTube video and a Omegaverse reference was made and we both made the same face and then locked eyes and mentally agreed "I know you know what this means and you know I know and we will never speak of this again".
My kid knows about sex and they are a sex repulsed ace and even if they weren't I'm not going to tell my kid about the fuck or die elements of the fic I'm reading
Not because I'm worried about traumatising them but because I know they're going to fucking judge me
Not because they're ace but because they are 15 and I'm their cringe fail parent
THE CYCLE OF TRAUMA
In this post I'll try to explain how Sun is trapped in a cycle of trauma and I'll try to answer the question whether he can escape it or not and how he can escape it if it's possible.
I think that I know the answer to why Sun is often pushed aside and doesn't even feel like MC in Sun and Moon Show sometimes.. it's because the show is telling two stories.
One story is the one that we see. The one which follows mostly what happens with Moon because Moon does more things than Sun. Sun is doing his own things in the background. Or he's a gag character in most of funny lore episodes. This story is the surface level of watching it and seeing the obvious parallels between events.
It's not a bad way to engage with the show but it's more like watching MCU - easy story to follow with foreshadowing, payoffs and parallels.
But there's also a second story.. a story hidden in details and subtle hints and lines which are echoes of the past events.. and the main character of this story is Sun who is a traumatised victim of abuse.
This is more deep reading of events in the show - we could say it's meta interpretation of it.
I'm not going to lie to you that I found it weird and a bit repulsive how awfully Sun is treated as a victim of abuse.. because his trauma was never addressed properly - Sun could never talk openly about what happened to him and no one even helped him with that.. sometimes they didn't even want to listen to him..
I didn't want to accept that Sun healed off-screen or just even got better off-screen because of how much he went through and things like that just don't magically disappear.. all this trauma couldn't just disappear.. especially if Sun never had a break. His life is traumatising event after traumatising event after traumatising event..
"Stop! How can you say that Sun didn't have a break when he literally did while Solar and Moon took care of everything?" you're probably asking this right now. And my answer is: yes, you're right, Sun literally had a break. Literally - a surface level of watching show.. a story that we see..? You probably don't know what I'm trying to say. But this is exactly why I'm making this post.
Today's episode helped me realize that what's happening right now is just another face of Sun's trauma.
Moon is not only acting similarly to Old Moon but he even tried to guilt-trip Sun and he minimized his trauma by mocking it which was the exact same thing Old Moon was doing during their fights.
Moon even said that only after two years Sun was able to grow a spine to stand up to Moon.. doesn't it sound familiar?
Old Moon said during one of their fights that Sun shouldn't apologize for yelling at him because he shouldn't apologize for having a spine.. hmm.. it's obvious parallel yet it's a reverse one.
Old Moon was trying to make Sun stand up for himself in abusive way.
Now Moon is trying to squash Sun's confidence by laughing at Sun's efforts of trying to stand up for himself which essentially mocks Sun's trauma.
And later when I was watching mgafs episode it dawned on me. Sun went to Monty for help when Moon is dangerous.. doesn't it sound familiar?
The last time Sun went to Monty for help was when kill code reactivated in Old Moon.. but before that Sun went to Monty for help when Lunar was pretending to be Old Moon and they couldn't switch places.
But who told Sun to go to Monty for help if situation with Moon would be too much to handle for Sun? Old Moon.
It seems that Old Moon's words still have an impact on Sun.
But there's more.. Sun locked Moon in a cell just like Old Moon did to him a year ago. Sun decided to use shocks to keep Moon from doing something stupid and harming himself.
It really seems that Sun was influenced by Old Moon's actions.
But also the only helpful thing that Sun knows is talking to Earth because Earth was the one who helped him back then.. so if Earth's words didn't help Moon what else can?
Old Moon never listened to Sun and now Moon also doesn't listen to him. So what left?
He went to Monty for help but it turned out that Monty can't help. Monty's words don't work anymore with Moon like they used to with Old Moon. Monty and Foxy's only solution is to forcefully snap Moon out of it by endangering Sun at expense of Bloodmoon's life cause who cares about Bloodmoon..
So the only answer is violence. But if you think about it Sun's life is filled with violence to the brim. Old Moon used to solve their every problem with violence. New Moon also tried to solve their every problem by killing whoever he deemed an enemy.
Sun tried to talk with Eclipse but it didn't work. The only thing that left was to expell him from his head which was a death of OG Eclipse.
He tried to warn Bloodmoon. It didn't work and he killed them in self-defence.
He tried to listen to V2 Eclipse (Eclipse with the star) but Eclipse could only threaten them and told them to kill Lunar. So the only thing that left was to push Eclipse through the portal and Moon killed him.
He tried to talk to New Bloodmoon but it didn't work either and the only thing that left once again was violence.
He convinced Moon to help Ruin which turned out to be Solar's and trillions of others' lives doom. So what left? They had to lock Ruin but it created more problems - Molten trying to kill him and now Ruin is once again working with Bloodmoon and we can only imagine that they're up to no good. So they'd most definitely have to use violence.
Sun tried to resolve things differently. He tried to help. But none of this worked. His help only made things worse. And everyone's answer seem to be only violence.. violence violence violence violence violence violence violence..
So it's not surprising at all that Sun is doing what Old Moon taught him. Even if it isn't what Sun wants. And the worse thing is that now others are trying to force him to make a decision that will have an impact on everything. It'll either work and things will get better or it won't and everything will get worse.
You may say that Sun has Earth and Lunar as a support. But while it is true that he still has them they already expressed that they don't want to help. And let's be honest, neither Earth nor Lunar did much to help Sun with his trauma. They aknowledged it but that's it. Lunar never talked about it with Sun. And the only thing Earth did was apologizing to Sun for making him sad by mentioning Old Moon's death because she knows how hard it is for him.
But it isn't what Sun needs. He needs help. You may say "why he doesn't talk to them about his trauma?" The thing is he tried. But when he needed help the most - after Old Moon's death - they told him to move on or Moon straight up yelled at him for just simply mentioning Old Moon.
So it's not surprising that Sun doesn't try to open up about it anymore. Because he learned that it's better not to do that. And that's why he thinks that his issues are less important than others' problems. Because no one cared to help him. But because Sun knows that they love him so there's only one reason why they didn't help him. And this reason is that his issues aren't that much of a big deal. Why should he bother others with his issues when others don't seem to care that much? They probably don't care that much because these issues aren't real problems.. I bet that this is what Sun thinks about that.
Let's get back to the main topic of this post. Sun is trapped in a cycle of trauma. From the beginning of his existence the only thing he knows is trauma. First with Old Moon who abused him physically, mentally and emotionally. Later Old Moon promised to change yet he left Eclipse in Sun's head which created another trauma for Sun and Old Moon didn't stop being abusive. Later when they thought that they defeated Eclipse another problem appeared - Bloodmoon. But it wasn't enough because it turned out that there's new Eclipse who activated Old Moon's kill code reopening Sun's trauma.
Eventually Sun's already poor mental state worsened even more and he experienced psychotic episode. And what others did at that time? They abandoned Sun and because he was too detached from reality he wasn't able to stop himself. And in such state he did things that he regrets. But even if he regrets them he can't do anything about it. He has to live with consequences of his actions even if he wasn't at fault for neither Old Moon's nor Lunar's death. But it only deepened his trauma.
At that point Sun thought that the only solution is to die hoping for fresh start like Moon had. Hence why he decided to be conduit for star's power and tried to sacrifice himself. Thankfully he survived and Eclipse was gone. Things seemed to get better. Unfortunately Sun's family didn't help him with his trauma at that time. Even if it was the best time to adress his issues considering that he was still suicidal back then.
Though Ruin already was a threat. After all he kidnapped Sun and the way Moon dealt with it wasn't the best - reminding Sun of his trauma once again. Yet back then Ruin's threat seemed so distant. Until he decided to bring Bloodmoon back. And also Solar's appearing disrupted dynamics in the family regardless of this being unintentional. Then Ruin blew up the Daycare and Sun and Moon were sent to Ruin's dimension.
And even if later things seemed to get better once again it wasn't long before Bloodmoon completely mauled Earth's body and they had to deal with them and also Stitchwraith threatened that if they'll try to interfere he will do worse things then simply kidnapping Earth.
At that time Sun seemed very distanced from everyone. He had serious memory issues and he wasn't answering any messages and calls. It didn't seem good.
And then Eclipse returned once again. And we all of a sudden found out that Sun was feeling great until Eclipse's return.. it doesn't add up.
And later Sun decided to leave everything to Moon and Solar to deal with while he was spending time alone in their house, drinking wine and relaxing with his cats.. and he seemingly got better. He just needed a break.
It doesn't make much sense when you consider everything Sun went through. Yes, on surface level Sun seems to be doing much better and break helped him.. but is it actually true?
If we look at it deeper through lense of a story of very traumatised victim of abuse.. it seems that this was Sun's another attempt at breaking the cycle of trauma. The first attempt was sacrificing himself. Second was to try and avoid getting engaged with anything. After all when he tried to help everything got worse. So he naturally tried to do the opposite.. which turned out even worse.
Solar died because of Ruin's plan and he wouldn't be able to do it if it wasn't for Sun convincing Moon to help him. Moon is now losing his mind because of Solar's death and like Sun said he wishes that he said more to Moon when he had mental breakdown. And now Moon is acting worse than Old Moon and Sun is basically reliving his trauma. Sun is trying his best to keep his family together but is he actually able to do that?
You may think that he is.. but when you consider Sun's mental state - depressive psychosis and delusions centered around guilt and unworthiness making Sun feel like he's the one who is bad.. it doesn't seem likely.
You can disagree with me but there's plenty of evidence that support my claim. Also Moon told Sun that he has a little bit of Eclipse in him still.. and not so long ago Eclipse told Sun that he would make a good Eclipse when this is exactly what Sun was afraid of a year ago. And Lunar back then told him that he's acting exactly like Eclipse.
I'm pretty sure that it's affecting Sun. As much as he tries to say otherwise. That Moon's words doesn't have any impact on him anymore. It's not true. After all, we can still see how much Old Moon's words affected him.
Having all of this in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if Sun ended up blaming himself for what happened. Also considering that things will get worse soon. After all, Taurus is after Lunar and he'll either execute them immediately or put them to test.. which probably won't be anything nice. And Earth is hiding that she's friends with Eclipse and she trusts him more than her family because she tells Eclipse things that she wouldn't say to them. And who knows what Ruin and BM will do. And lastly.. Sun will find out soon that Dazzle is victim of July 16th incident. It doesn't look too good for him.
Even if Sun keeps going for his family. Will he be able to take more of this?
I don't think so. Because why then showrunners didn't let things to get better even if a bit? Why everything seems to get worse?
But is there a way for Sun to escape the cycle of trauma? He tried to sacrifice himself which even if it'd ended with him being dead he still would do something good, right? He'd protect his family. He tried to distance himself from everything to not make things worse with his help. But it ended up making everything even worse. So is there any option left for Sun to break the cycle?
Yes, the help of others. Unfortunately it doesn't seem likely. Even now when Sun is clearly suffering he still chose not to talk about his own feelings but focused on Moon. Even when he's hurting so much that Monty and Foxy found Sun crouching outside Monty's house. Yet he didn't say anything. And what they did to help him? They told him that he needs to make a decision that he isn't capable to make in the state he is right now.
But what about Earth and Lunar? Like I said Lunar will have a much more concerning problem soon enough. And when Sun will find out about Earth's secret.. I doubt he'll trust her to talk about his own issues. You may say that he can change his mind about Eclipse. Maybe normally he could but not now. Not when he's reliving his trauma and his mental state is threatening to worsen. Sun isn't in any condition to deal with his own issues with Eclipse unless Eclipse will surprisingly not insult Sun and will be able to convince him that he wants to help. But Sun isn't in the right state of mind to deal with it, to rethink everything between the two of them and try to forget about trauma Eclipse caused him and his family.
And when Sun will learn the truth about Dazzle.. I wouldn't be surprised if it'll be a final straw for him.
So what else left? How can break the cycle? The answer is he can't. He could with a help of his family but it really seems not to be an option.
Though there's one thing that will stop the cycle of trauma once and for all. And it's death. You may say that Sun already tried to do that. Yes but also no. Back then Sun thought that he'll be lucky if he get reset and if not he'll at least sacrifice himself to protect his family.
But what about now? There's a plan to put Sun in dangerous situation that will cause Sun harm in order to snap Moon out of the state he's in. But if it won't work Moon will kill Bloodmoon and then I doubt that he'll stop at that. And then what?
This plan is messed up because no one can be sure if it'll work and there are very high chances that Moon's mental state will worsen either way. I bet that Sun will try to help no matter what.
Edit: I forgot to mention that Foxy wanted Sun to decide when he'll say enough is enough and he let them kill Moon which isn't an option for Sun - imagine keep going with this in mind that the life of your brother depends on your decision.
But when things will get worse will he be able to keep going? After all he wasn't able to help anyone, to stop anyone, to comfort anyone.. he tried everything yet things only got worse. And because of Sun's mental issues I'm pretty sure that he'll blame himself for everything. So even if Sun will still have Earth and Lunar (maybe).. can he be sure that his decisions won't end up harming the rest of his family?
I wouldn't be surprised if Sun will consider taking his own life as an answer to how stop this madness. If he thinks that all of this is his fault and he even expressed that himself that he was wondering if it'd be better if Moon and him never separated.. and even if Sun went to dimension where they separated but Eclipse never happened and they seem to have happy lives. That Moon didn't help Sun that much and even if he said that deep down Moon still cares.. now Sun learned that it isn't true. Sun can't handle this anymore.
Sun's mental state seems to be not good but considering what is about to happen it'll only get worse. I doubt that Sun will be able to think it through and stop himself from doing it while everything around him is collapsing and he thinks that it's all because of him..
I won't say that he'll succeed because there's high chance that someone will stop him or even if he'll attempt it he may end up heavily injured or in a coma and not dead dead.
But seeing how showrunners keep making things harder and worse for Sun and knowing that Davis wanted to include topic of suicide but previously received backlash for that though it seems that the issue either got resolved or they decided to implement it anyway it seems highly likely that Sun may try to kill himself.
I'm not saying that he'll do that but this is just my hypothesis based on the analysis of events in the show and meta analysis of Sun's character and that his character represents a story of traumatised victim of abuse. I'd rather have them addressing it even if it'd mean that Sun will attempt suicide then them completely ignoring it showing viewers that "screw victims of abuse".
We may argue about whether VAs are doing good job with portraying this things in the show but I don't want to immediately say that there's no hope and that they just don't care about the fact that they made Sun to be a victim of abuse.
I'm trying to be positive about this and I hope that Sun's trauma eventually will be addressed. I'm trying to trust the process. Maybe I'm a fool for doing so but whatever. I don't care about it.
GIRLFRIEND
reader x art donaldson x patrick zweig
I'm thinking of Patrick & Art being approached by the reader to try to escape some loser who is following them around. Do you pretend that you recognize one of them from somewhere? Or, does one of the boys jump in ready to become your boyfriend? Is it pretend? 🤷🏻‍♀️ - @imblushingrn
warnings: harresment? mentions of threesome
Patrick and Art both lay back on the pastel coloured arm chairs. They are currently sat at Tashis party, waiting to gain her attention as they share a pack of cigarettes - the crumbled box thrown on the concrete causing a few to spill out.
Though I was on the other side of the house, the hidden sister. I have always played tennis alongside Tashi, but because she became better quicker she had all of the parents and friends and relatives attention whereas I was forgotten about. Living in a house, not a home, with a name from strangers.
I wandered mindlessly through the kitchen, glancing around at all the people in the house, wondering who they were as they conversed. Once again the same shiver ran down my spine as a firm hand gripped onto my shoulder, the same distant cousin - who wasn’t really a cousin - who has been pestering me all night.
“May I pour you a drink?” His nasal voice strung out, it sounded like he needed a tissue. Though politely I shake my head.
I feel the hand gripping my shoulder wander down, caressing my waist and hips - though it wasn’t endearing. I struggle to move as he grips me so tight, thinking of any idea.
He moves closer to me and I feel his disgusting smelling breath on my neck, slowly biting at my skin. Not in the sexy, attractive way - more like a rat biting at scraps.
I manage to pull away and dash out of the kitchen arch way, and through the back doors of the house - somehow his harsh footsteps echo in my ears as he follows me outside. I look around desperately, spotting two boys who appear to be my age or a little older. I skip over and try to relax my breathing.
In through the nose, out through the mouth. In through the nose, out through the mouth.
I approach the two of them, using my hands to move the blondes feet out of the way so I can sit at the end of the arm chair. They both give me curious looks, as to why a stranger has disrupted their smoking session.
“A guy won’t leave me alone can you just get him off my back? Please.” I whisper, my eyes glancing up as I see the cousin stroll over casually.
He places both arms on his hips, tutting at me. “Well look where you ran off, come on darling I don’t have all day!” he snapped, the pet name didn’t even sound nice and definitely didn’t give me butterflies.
“Back off man she’s mine.”
“She’s my girlfriend pal, fuck off.”
Both the strangers let out at the same time, glancing at each other worriedly. I bit my lip and scrunch my eyes. Though the cousin doesn’t say a word for a good long passing seconds. “So- So you guys are like…” he stumbles, pointing between the three of us, and I still don’t know their names “A threesome?”
We all stay quiet for at least a minute, or thats what it felt like, all glancing at each other. Yet the dark haired boy spoke “Yeah, exactly what we are now fuck off.”
And that’s all the cousin needed to pry off of me, raising his arms in mock surrender and carrying on with his night. I exhale in relief, turning to the two boys who are both slightly flustered. “Thank you so much you don’t understand! Thank you…” They both smile and nod before releasing.
“Oh! I’m Art and he’s Patrick!” the blonde, Art, says with a smile, sticking his hand out.
I shake it with a laugh, looking at the both of them. “Sorry for getting you… both involved.” I blushed as they shook their heads and waved it off
The brunette smirked lightly, watching me. “What’s your name, I wanna find your facebook later?”
I blushed and relayed my name to him, watching their eyes widen at the last name ‘Duncan’, “Why do you want my facebook?”
“He’s asking for your number, and so am I.” Art replied, taking in a breath of his cigarette.
I laughed in disbelief, glancing at the both of them who continued to casually smoke, letting the light breeze take the smoke anywhere. Two boys… who both want my number?
so David the Demon, we've all seen him, right?
except- not really. that douchey guy has been faceclaiming some English dude(well, assuming they're male? I mean, they represent David sooo??) and using his body the whole time we've seen him! In the role rink scene, that kid even asks where he is.
So that means that after being exorcized from Crystal, David *sought out* that same guy, possessed him, and got him to Port Townsend. There's GOT to be a simpler way to do that.
Even in Crystal's own mind, David looks like the person he's possessing! I'm the first scene of the mindscape, David says "we've seen eachother naked" to Crystal, and it sounds like he was alluding to (bad) demon sex, right? He probably was, but I think he also means that Crystal knows what he actually looks like.
If you look at the possession scene, it looks like his demon arm is literally going from Human Guy's mouth into Crystal's mouth, like David is climbing in.
If y'all have seen The Sandman on Netflix, there is a demonic possession scene in which the demon tears apart the human he's inaktiv, and his wholeass giant demon body was inside there, not just his demon soul or something. I'm other words, he was "wearing" a human body.
Considering that David went straight from inside another person to inside Crystal, I have to wonder,
when has Crystal actually seen him?
why does he appear as the possessed person in the mindscape, even while possessing Jenny?
“Jordie,” he says, slowly so Jordie can hear and understand. “This is a dream.” Jordie tilts his head, laughs boisterously, but there is no sound. Kaz cannot remember his brother’s laugh. He cannot remember his voice. The details are wrong because Kaz does not know enough to correct them. It is the same mistake every night. “No, it’s not,” Jordie corrects. He uses Kaz’s captured pawn to wave to the poppies. “Look at the flowers, Kaz.”
"He holes up in his room, blocks the window so he can hear if Inej tries to sneak in. He doesn't want her to see, to think he's actually taking this seriously. It turns out the book can’t tell him more than Inej already had. Flowers grew in a person’s lungs, and eventually they grew too large and numerous they choked you to death from the inside out. They only stopped if the feelings were confessed. Absurd. "He rewraps the book and shoves it in a coat pocket to lose later. The concept is ridiculous, implausible, and wouldn’t it be just like Kaz to get flowers mistaken for knives anyway? Beautiful and dangerous but in all the wrong ways. Something new broken inside of him."
With Inej...there was a lot he couldn't control, a fact that he still wasn't comfortable coming to grips with. But he could control the shaking; he could focus on his breathing, and square his shoulders, and even out his footing so his weight wouldn't crush his leg too bad. He could walk to her and talk to her; touch her sleeve, maybe even slide down his fingers to the pulse in her wrist. Seven months she'd been gone. He could - he had to do this.
