See, this is why I have trust issues with goodreads. If you didn't even finish the book, why are you giving it a 3 stars? Who is this for exactly? Who does this rating help? I get that people don't wanna be mean, but you did not finish the book...

Finished An Island Princess Starts a Scandal and it's definitely a book I wish was better. It did start off really promising, but it never truly lived up to its potential... plus, it was weirdly pretentious. I never wanted to learn less about art or the author's views on Greek mythology, but here I am. It think if you go into this book with low expectations and probably a love of instalove AND slowburn (this author couldn't decide what she wanted) WLW, you will enjoy it! I, however, give it a 2/5 for the pacing alone.

Also, the author did this weird thing where she kept repeating certain phrases over and over (so some of her proses are questionable). Including repeating one of the main character's FULL NAME (it's on goodreads lol) and I truly wanted to jump out a window every time it was said.

At some point, I will admit the criticism of this book are mostly because I don't like it. But there are valid reasons why it's bad that you compare people to foods lol
