God I know Zoro is commonly understood as gay, but there is such a strong energy in me for Zoro/fem!Sanji with nigh-identical dynamics to canon, equally as bitchy and rivals and all that, just with an added risk of having to go to Chopper with a bun in the wrong kind of oven.

(Though tbf, manga Zoro is just really demi/gray-ace and could be bi, and also it's a possibility for trans man Sanji, so it doesn't even need to be a genderbend, fem!Sanji just the conversation that the groupchat was having when I started Thinknig…)

An (Allegedly) Easy Guide to my Kid AU Universes

I had the bright idea of making a short reference post for each of the various kids I've created across my Parenthood AUs. Then I worked out that I actually have six Stranger Things Parenthood AUs and I realised it would take forever to do a bunch of different posts, so here's a helpful reference to all the kids I mention in my fics and posts.

First up, of course, is Josieverse:

Not-so-secretly my favourite child. The parenthood AU I developed the most and the one I've spent the most time developing.

Next up is what I affectionately refer to as "Canonverse".

As of today (26/03/24) only Teddy and Lizzie have been featured in a fic out of the six of them.

This is the universe I consider the closest to the canon up until the end of season 4, with some minor changes: namely, Eddie's alive (and trans). In this AU, Steddie and Ronance settle down and eventually decide to have kids after unofficially marrying. It's the least chaotic universe.

Damienverse is probably one of the more chaotic kid AUs.

I haven't written any fics for them yet, but my co-creator Percy and I have talked about them more over on my twitter.

It's centric on Damien, who is Robin and Nancy's son, born in 1986. It's a canon rewrite overall with a focus on Nancy as a trans woman and follows their lives through and after the Upside Down.

The One Night Stand AU, also referred to as the Accidental Pregnancy AU, just has the one kid:

This one is a no Upside Down AU where Nancy and Robin have a one night stand and lose contact. When they bump into one another again, Nancy learns that she has a son, Daniel. (Nancy's a trans woman in this one too. So is Stevie!)

The QPR Stobin AU also has just the one kid:

Evie is the biological daughter of Steve and Robin via IVF. They're platonic life partners with a kick-ass kid. Evie comes out as trans in her teens and her story revolves around her and Steve and Robin following it, with Steve and Robin figuring out how to be the best trans allies they can be for her.

Finally, my Kid with Powers AU is another chaotic one.

In this one, Robin has a daughter, Katherine, who shows signs of having powers. It's theorised that the exposure to the Upside Down the older teens went through affected them, though it's also plausible that it was the drugs Robin and Steve were drugged with underneath Starcourt.

Robin and Steve are aware that the remains of the lab are keeping tabs on them, but they slip up. Robin flees with her daughter, intending to take her to Dustin's mom, but is chased off the road. She manages to hide her in the boathouse before fleeing again to take the lab members' attention.

Holly Wheeler and her friends find Kat crying in the boathouse and sneak her home to the Wheeler basement. When Holly realises Kat has powers, she takes her to Wayne. Robin believes her daughter to be dead or kidnapped when she returns to find her missing.

Wayne raises Kat. When she reaches twelve, she uses her powers to track down her mother after learning El did the same. When she finds Robin and Steve again, she learns that they have another child: Steve's son Zach. Robin's overjoyed, unable to believe she's alive. Kat ends up living with them again and adjusting to this new dynamic between the four of them.

That's all of them -- that I can remember, anyway! Apparently, kid AUs have a habit of running away from me. They're just so fun.

The roughest? Damn that's a hard one.

One of the most awkward has to be Childhood Friends/Imaginary Friend Phillip au because the Bridgertons all legit thought this man was fake. They thought Penelope made him up to get Portia off her back.

Accidental pregnancy and accidental marriage have to be just as awkward, too. Eloise probably doesn't help in that regard. Though Eloise probably added fuel to the fire with those because she goes off the radar and then pops back up pregnant or married.

The Peneleus au has Colin and Phillip fist fighting in Romney Hall's front yard upon first meeting.

I might have to dig back to see.

Accidental Baby Mama

The night before was a rarity for Stiles. He’d only been a Director of Photography on a few projects before getting this film, and most of them were small-scale enough that could not do proper wrap parties the way bigger productions could. He’d met one Lydia Martin during this shoot and taken a fancy to her almost immediately. One thing led to another and the previous several hours were spent with the result.

He didn’t wake until she was gone for a good ten minutes and by then he is more concerned with making sure there was as little light streaming into his bedroom as possible. Should he call her? Make sure she got home alright? It seems like the gentlemanly sort of thing to do, but he didn’t want to speak to her whilst nursing a blazing hangover that anyone else might mistake for a particularly bad migraine. That does not seem like a very gentlemanly thing to do, not one bit. Still, he resolves to do after he’s downed a few good bottles of cold water.

Lydia couldn’t believe she’d done this. She’d gotten drunk clearly and just had reckless sex with the Director of Photography. She was absolutely fucking insane. Was she trying to cover her first role as a true leading lady in scandal? Was she really trying to ruin this before the movie ever came out? If she covered this movie in scandal no director was going to want to work with her. How could she be so stupid? There’s no reason why she could trust him to not go to the press with this. Sure, Stiles seemed nice enough. However, they hardly knew each other and everyone could be bought in her experience.

She gets home and makes sure all of her blinds are shut before she gets herself into a shower. She puts on leggings, a slouchy sweater, and braids her hair before she heads down to the kitchen. She pours herself a bottle of water and pops two ibuprofen. She was going to pretend this never happened and hope that she didn’t have to see Stiles for awhile. She was going to be away for press so there was that. She just hoped that he wouldn’t sell what happened to the press and the press tour wouldn’t get ruined by it.

Several weeks later finds Lydia back in LA and more than a little frenzied, standing on Stiles’ doorstep. She’s never left her house looking this much of an unkempt mess in her life. Certainly not since she made her break into Hollywood. She was going to be mortified if pictures of her like this ended up in the press. She reaches up and bangs none too gently on the front door. She couldn’t believe this was happening. How could she be such a fucking idiot? She was generally pretty smart. She’d been accepted to prestigious universities before she’d broken back into Hollywood after her child star days. She shifts on the front step and waits impatiently. When he doesn’t answer the first time, she bangs even more heavily on the door before she rings the doorbell three or four times. This was insane. She couldn’t believe that she was going to have to do this.
