Johnny: Why do you have a child?
Kung Lao: I don't know, but-
Johnny: Please tell me I don't need to have The Talk with you
Kung Lao: No, he's my nephew, dipshit, I just don't know why I got custody
Johnny: Oh
I have had an idea!!!!!!
Kung Lao, freshly human again thanks to magic shenanigans, gets custody of his 8 year old nephew Kung Jin, and has to teach himself how to parent as Jin makes every effort to make his life as chaotic as possible

Oh my god, imagine that like a handful were away that day and survived but they all thought they were the only ones to do so and they don't find out the truth until Hanzo refounds the clan
Then imagine them showing up at the compound and seeing Hanzo, whom they all knew from the time he was a teen (when he joined) and who they saw get married, and whose kid they baby sat, being the Grandmaster of their clan and trying So Hard to uphold their traditions
Imagine him seeing them and realizing that he isn't actually alone, that he didn't lose everyone that terrible day
That people who knew his wife and son, who remember them, are alive and in front of him
Another shower thought
In the first timeline, did Quan Chi really kill all Shirai Ryu? Like, seriously, all the Shirai Ryu were on clan grounds that day, on that specific day for some reason? Like, there was no warrior out on a mission? It would also depend on how Quan Chi killed them, if it was some kinda spell that would kill everyone linked to the clan, it makes sense that they all died without necessarily being in the clan that day but all versions that demonstrate the Shirai Ryu massacre is always something physical, Quan Chi is almost always present in the form of Sub-Zero killing the Shirai Ryu, so how can we be sure he killed them all?
Also, it's Quan Chi! It's not like he's the most trustworthy person in the world

I love these so much, and if you don't mind an addition?
Frost regularly has nightmares about waking up back in the fighting pits somehow to find that she never did escape, and the only person who can convince her that she is awake and the nightmare wasn't real is Takeda bc his telepathy is the only proof she trusts
Frost and Takeda help each other hide the fact that neither has a proper/complete formal education bc they hate the pity they get from anyone who finds out.
Kuai Liang and Hanzo know and are putting both kids through remedial lessons to help them catch up. Takeda doesn't mind, bc it's useful information, but Frost would gnaw off her own foot to get out of it.
Kung Lao has taken it upon himself to act as Jin's guardian now that they have been reunited, which Jin pretends to hate but secretly is very touched by
Jacqui refuses to eat anything Takeda cooks bc of how much spice he uses, and she has the best spice tolerance after him
Takeda's cooking once literally put Cassie in the hospital from how much spice he used and Frost refuses to let her live it down
Fox actually likes doing paperwork and is the only one who can get the rest of them to finish theirs
Back on my Kombat Kid BS. Hop in kiddos! Frost is here too!
Cassie uses the default browser and Jacqui and Takeda hate her for it. When Frost found out she also questioned Cassie’s intelligence.
Takeda is practically immune to spicy foods. He spent the first eight years of his life in Thailand and was then raised by a pyromancer, a little heat means nothing to him.
Cyber Frost makes the dial up tone when confused.
Cassie is a heathen that puts milk before the cereal.
Takeda can pole dance. The guy fights like an acrobatic gymnast. He can 100% pole dance.
Jin is a fan of Dolly Parton.
Jin used to brake into libraries after closing hours and would spend the whole night reading only to be discovered the next morning by opening staff asleep, surrounded by books. After doing this a few dozen times at one particular library, the staff just gave him an extra key and the alarm codes.
Takeda is the type of person that if he’s walking down a trail and sees a snail trying to cross it, he’ll pick it up and move it so it won’t get crushed.
Jacqui absolutely adores how much of a dork and goofball Takeda is. It’s hard to portray herself as serious with him constantly making her laugh, but she honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.
Kung Jin and Jacqui had a sort of rivalry going over who could win and keep Takeda’s affection born from Jacqui’s mild jealousy and Jin’s need to be a troll. It was never anything malicious and the whole thing actually brought the two closer together as friends. He’s the number one supporter of their relationship and she insists that he gets full guardianship of any future kids should anything happen to her or Takeda.
Jacqui owns a motorcycle and likes to go on rides on the weekends to help clear her head. Jax does not approve of the bike as he views it as being too dangerous for his baby girl.
Out of everyone in the SF, Takeda has had the least amount of formal education, having only completed the second grade before dropping out entirely.
Frost doesn’t know what school is.
Sonya, Kuai Liang, and Hanzo have started a tradition where they meet up every few months and talk about all the stupid things their kids get up to over drinks. Kung Lao also joins in on occasion.
Takeda’s biggest fear is being left alone/abandoned by the people he loves.
Cassie’s biggest fear is that she’s not good enough and that she’ll fail everyone.
Jin’s biggest fear is that everyone secretly hates him.
Jacqui’s biggest fear is everyone dying and her not being able to protect them.
Frost’s biggest fear is that none of this is real. That she actually died in those fighting pits and all the friends and happy moments are just her brain hallucinating in her final moments all the things that could have been.

I love all of this and I will add
Kuai Liang starts going to the coffee shop to pick Frost up after study sessions (She can't drive) and flirts with Hanzo the entire time, much to her horror and Hanzo's delight
Kuai Liang also refuses to tell Hanzo his coffee order, letting Hanzo guess and buying whatever he suggests (he secretly hates coffee and is wondering how long it will take Hanzo to figure it out)
Hanzo eventually shows up at the dojo as their closing one night to return something else Frost left behind, and reveals that he actually used to do mma and Kuai Liang offers to spar with him to see how much of it stuck (This leads to Tension)
Hey Honey Bunny! Good to see you back in action. Got a Subscorp au for ya. The classic coffee shop.
The Shirai Ry-Brew is a coffeehouse/roasters that Hanzo and his adopted sons run that is just down the street from the Lin Kuei dojo and gym. Kuai Liang is back in town to help his brother run the place after their dad’s passing and because his daughter, Frost, is going to start at the local college soon along with the rest of the kombat kids. The two single fathers meet and slowly begin to fall for one another.
Also Bi-Han and Hanzo have hated each other for years and for extremely petty reasons.
Hanzo and Bi-Han hate each other bc Bi-Han thinks Hanzo messed up his coffee order on purpose and Hanzo maintains that Bi-Han took a coffee that wasn't his.
Kuai Liang thinks this feud is stupid and Shirai Ryu-Brew is the only place that hasn't banned Frost for her ludicrously elaborate sugary concoction she invented when she was five
Having them be college age is awesome, but there's also another au in there where all the kids are under ten

Since Lin Kuei Hanzo wouldn’t have met Harumi and had Satoshi (yet) maybe the source of his infamous anger could be the belief that his father abandoned him. Hell, maybe enough so that Quan Chi barely lifts a finger if he’s still involved
ooooo that's a good idea.
Maybe the Lin Kuei tell him that his father made a deal with them, they'll call a truce with the Shirai Ryu in exchange for getting Hanzo. It's a lie of course, but it pisses him off.
AND, for the anger,
I hc that the Lin Kuei uses any attachments their clan members form (bc you can't completely stop that) to discipline them, so they won't hurt Hanzo when he acts out, they'll hurt Kuai Liang once their relationship is discovered and vice versa.
So Kuai Liang nearly dies bc of one of those punishments and Hanzo loses his shit, which Quan Chi takes advantage of to make a deal, promising safety for Kuai Liang if Hanzo serves him in Hell and at the tournament (he is also lying)

For your AU with kabal and Erron leaving black dragon
Erron:(sitting with Kabal) you realize once Kano realizes we left, he'll try and have our heads.
Kabal: Yeah? I know, it's Kano.
Erron; well I'm just making sure. I mean I know how the black dragon is all you-
Kabal: Drop it. Now. I'm not getting into this right now.
Erron; All I'm saying is I know it's not easy kabal. That's all.
That's when General Blade came in with Raiden along with Subzero and Scorpion.
Raiden; this is concerning news indeed. But are we sure Kano is working to bring him back?
General Blade: The information seems credible.
Sorry English isn't my first language
Jax: Should we tell Stryker? He'd want to know
Sonya: Let's hold off for now, I'm not sure they parted on the best of terms
Raiden: What relevance does that have?
Sonya: Stryker might not be a cop anymore but he still has a gun, putting him in a room with his ex who may or may not have betrayed him to Kano seems like a bad idea
Jax: Kabal did WHAT?
Sonya: Might have, Stryker never gave me a clear answer

Lil Satoshi:(hiding so he doesn't have to do homework)
Hanzo:(found him)
Satoshis' hiding spot was under a couch except for his feet sticking out
Hanzo: (playing along) where oh where is satoshi... hmmm guess he won't be getting any sweets after dinner tonight if I can't find him
Satoshi, leaping out from under the couch: No!
Hanzo, grinning and lifting him up to spin him around: Gotcha!

Bi-Han: Whoa, seriously, what happened?
Kuai Liang: I had a nightmare that you died, I just....needed to know you were still here.
Bi-Han: I am, I'm okay, I promise

You know what would make Lin Kuei Hanzo Au more sad: If Hanzo's father immediately learns that Hanzo was taken by the Lin Kuei. He tires to find him but fails and just believes that Hanzo is dead and spent years wallowing in regret
OR
Has no idea what happened and just assumed Hanzo joined the Shirai Ryu. Then some years later he sees Hanzo, who (angrily) lays out what he had gone through in the years since being forced into the Lin Kuei's service. The beatings, the belittling, and how they constantly told him that no one loved him (which Hanzo believed because of the disownment vow). Papa is horrified by the details and puts intense blame on himself
ooooo angsty, I love it
I see your angst and I raise you:
Kaede (Hanzo's dad) thinks that Hanzo joined the Lin Kuei willingly just to spite him and berates Hanzo for that. Hanzo, who was holding out at least some hope that his father would help him escape if they ever crossed paths again, breaks inside.
Kuai Liang has to be held back from killing the old man

Okay but imagine Hanzo in the Adopted Satoshi AU getting that nagging feeling of 'there's no way this Satoshi is the one I lost' but then it goes 'But what if it is...?' He's conflicted on what to do and hiding to long he confides in Kuai Liang about his dilemma
Hanzo: But he can't be! I saw his corpse!
Kuai Liang, gently: Could that not have been another of Quan Chi's tricks?
Hanzo: But then....that means I abandoned him
Kuai Liang: No you didn't
Hanzo: I didn't even look for him!
Kuai Liang: You had every reason to think he was dead, it wasn't your fault
Hanzo breaks down into tears and Kuai Liang holds him, whispering reassurances

Welcome back, Tundra!! May we have some more bottom!Hanzo incorrect quotes for the bottom!Hanzo believers? 🙏🧎
absolutely you can!
NSFW Y'all!
Hanzo, eyes rolling back into his head as he gets railed within an inch of his life: Is that- oh fuck- Is that all you've got?
Kuai Liang, huffing a laugh: Is this not good enough for you?
Hanzo: You could stand to put some effort into it
Kuai Liang, kissing him: Your wish is my command
Hanzo: Then get on with- oh~! Oh fuck!
Kuai Liang, grinning and smug: That's better, you should sound like that all the time
---
The two of them are sitting in the office and doing paperwork
Hanzo, shifting uncomfortably as he flicks his eyes up to Kuai Liang:.....
Kuai Liang: Can I help you?
Hanzo, not wanting to bother Kuai Liang: No, I'm fine
Kuai Liang eyes him suspiciously and gets up to walk over to him
Kuai Liang: Now, why don't you tell me the truth
Hanzo, swallowing thickly as Kuai Liang looms over him: I promise, I'm fine, we can finish the paperwork first
Kuai Liang hums thoughtfully before tugging Hanzo's legs open and teasing the bulge he finds there
Kuai Liang: Are you sure about that? Because this seems much more important than a grain report
Hanzo, trying not to whimper: Well, far be it for me to question your priorities
---
The two waking up in bed after sleeping in
Hanzo shifts back against Kuai Liang as the cryomancer spoons him.
Hanzo: Good morning
Kuai Liang, kissing him on the neck: Morning
Hanzo, shifting again to pull a moan from Kuai Liang's throat: Shall we make it a really good one?
Kuai Liang: A delightful idea

ok angst mk11 au idea:
during the time fuckery, frost is very seriously injured protecting the lin kuei from sektor in kuai liang's absence and sektor chooses to 'save' her by cyberizing her (sorta like kano and kabal in mk9). ofc the cyberization involves the mental/emotional inhibitor (whatever it's called) and frost is made to fight kuai. bonus angst points for:
1) trying to shut down the cyber lin kuei would kill frost (like with what happened w/ cyrax in canon)
2) after it all, kuai liang learns of the injuries frost sustained and it turns out she could have survived them/recovered w/o cyberization being necessary. sektor just saw the chance and he took it
oh that hurts, that hurts so bad
Frost would be horrified once her inhibitors were removed and Kuai Liang would break down sobbing the moment he saw her.
Sektor would die a terrible death and Kuai Liang would kill literally anyone who stood between him and the hourglass, not bc he wants to reset time but bc he's convinced he could use the time powers to undo her cyberization without reset the timeline (Which he does)
Frost would struggle with it so much and be so angry, like the only person who understands her level of sheer fucking rage is Hanzo, and he and Kuai Liang are the only people who can calm her down
