Do you remember that bad endings AU? Where the Bridgertons lost their loves but then got a chance to redo everything starting with Daphne’s debut? Well, I was thinking what if that was the catalyst for them snapping? They lost their loves once they are not losing them ever again.
Bad endings? Like the isekai au? Guys I'm going to be honest if you are mentioning the isekai au I need you to be real specific in the details, there are so many variants to that au I've lost track of it.
There's the OG villainess isekai au. This is the classic one that basically Portia came from our world into the Bridgerton world where they were books. She takes in all the spouses and becomes best friends with Mary and tries to set them on the right path while avoiding everything Bridgerton.
There's the what if everyone remembers but Violet version. This one builds off the original but the spouses remember their original stories and go we're not doing that again. They still aren't afraid to play dirty but they are trying to be good. The Bridgertons don't remember that timeline but a different one to where the spouses were the second love interests and they are trying to get with them this time around. Violet knows nothing and Lady Danbury
There is isekai and yanderes that's the one where we build of what if everyone rembers but violet but in this one the Bridgertons, including Violet are yanderes who snapped.
There's the what if Edmund lived version which is basically like the others but we threw in Edmund in there too and he's joining his wife in trying to seduce Portia.
Then the most recent addition is the reverse isekai au where the spouses were the orginal heroes and the Bridgertons were the villains. The spouses don't remember anything in this one but the Bridgertons do remember their original timelines and are hellbent on making the spouses there's.

Colin's favorite yellow on Penelope is the one that matches the color of his sheets. Then, when he sees her wrapped up in his sheets for the first time, he decides then and there that he will be the only person to see her in yellow ever again.

I'm unsure how superstitious soccer people are but I grew up doing competitive swimming and know ALL sports are at least a little bit superstitious.
So imagine Colin's teammates take notice that he does his best when a certain red head is in the crowd. Michael, who plays midfield and is the nosiest player on the team, does some digging (reads he goes to Colin's sisters) and finds out about Penelope. Michael drags Phillip along, who is the goalkeeper, and they befriend Penelope. If Colin or his sisters don't extend Penelope an invitation to a game they will.
Penelope unofficially becomes Colin's good luck charm and the team will make sure she's there so Colin has a reason to play his best and show off in front of her.
Polin soccer/football au where colin is like idk chelsea’s best striker and pen is his pining best friend who thinks hes way out of her league and just watches through her tv
Until she got invited by eloise to watch live at the stadium, and when colin noticed shes there, he played the best game of his life

You know I was reading up on inheritance laws for different parts of the world back in older times and this thought kinda got into my head.
So we know the whole "boy moms" things and sons being heavily favored even in more progressive countries to this day. A part of me wonders if that is some sort of leftover survival instinct. (Bad word for it but it's the closest I can think of at this moment) It wasn't that long ago that a women couldn't really do anything or even have a bank account without her husband okaying. And even farther back, when it was extremely difficult for a woman to inheirt anything, if she could at all, they had pray for the mercy of their sons to take care of them after death of their husbands.
Jane Austen wrote about this issue in several of her works. In Sense and Sensibility Henry Dashwood made his son John Dashwood promise to take care of his sisters and stepmother after his death. John does promise this but then easily let's his wife Mrs. Dashwood talk him out of it and basically give his sisters the very bare minimum. The Dashwood sisters actually had to rely on a distant relative because their brother broke his promise. Now Mrs. Dashwood frames it to her husband like hey why would you take this money away from your son. A part of me wonders though if she was also trying to secure herself too for if she outlives her husband.
This issue also comes up again in Pride and Prejudice with Mrs. Bennett worrying for her daughters because Mr. Bennett has greatly shown he does not really care about the future after he's gone, hell he hasnt even bithered to look to who his estate will go to when he passes. He has of age daughters that he should he taking to London or higher populated areas to give them better odds of marrying and marrying well. But he doesn't like the city so they stay in the country and thankfully they got lucky that Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy ended up rolling into town. I also don't remember exactly how this went but Mr. Bennett also was not really setting anything aside for his daughters dowieries and instead was relying on Mrs. Bennett's dowery for that. Mrs. Bennett's dowery wasn't much either when divided among all the girls especially considering she married up when she married Mr. Bennett. Compared to Mr. Darcy who is properly taking care of his female relatives and even Lizzie's. Mr. Darcy did more for the search for Lydia then Mr. Bennett, Lydia's father!
Another example is in Bridgerton. Lord and Lady Featherington are in my opinion Mr and Mrs. Bennett coded except now we are seeing what happens when Mr. Bennett/Lord Featherington dies and have done nothing to help his daughters. The whole Featherington family was stressed about the new lord because they had no idea of what he would do to them. He very easily could have kicked them out onto the street and left them with nothing. Then he turns out to be a scam artist who only cares for himself. I don't blame Portia for getting those fake documents, but back to the son thing even in those documents it is spefically stated that the firstborn grandson would become the new lord. Still putting the Featherington sisters and Portia herself at the mercy of a male relative. Because while women could inheirt, although a difficult process and often if she was married it would fall into her husband's hands until 1870, estates that were tied to a title had to be inherited by a male relative.
So that's kinda why I'm wondering if this is why the whole boy preference still exists because women's survival not too long ago very much relyed on the mercy of their male relatives.

I'm bored so let me tell you about my version of the polin kids!
I do think all of them inherited their mama's smarts and their daddy's appetite. A dangerous combination when they try to negotiate for more biscuits. Penelope isn't sure how they managed to keep in budget while feeding the bottomless pits that is her husband and children.
Agatha: She's a decent mixture of her parents. She comes to about an average height of 5'4-5'5. Her hair more of an auburn brown and her eyes a hazel color. Like her namesake Agatha is a fierce little lady and she likes causing chaos. Out of the four of them she would be the one commanding a room.
Thomas: He's the one to look the most like Colin with his chestnut brown hair and green eyes, coming to the same height as his dad when he becomes an adult. Thomas is a performer, using his charm to put on a show. If Agatha decides to cause mischief, he's right behind her ready to cause a distraction or try to charm their parents for a lesser punishment.
Jane: She's mommy's girl. This is the one I picture to look and act the most like Penelope but she also has some of Colin's height on her side, putting her taller than her mother but still the shortest of her siblings. She's the only child to also have completely red hair. Jane is the sneakiest of her siblings, being able to blend into a crowd and be ignored if she chooses to do so. Very observant and has just enough of her daddy's charm that she can manipulate almost any situation to her advantage if she chooses to do so. Her siblings jokingly call her the heir to Whistledown. Colin prays this isn't true.
George: While his hair did start out as blonde as a baby/toddler it did darken to more of a copper color as he got older. He is on the quiet side. George would rather watch from the side lines with Jane and observe than jump into the chaos like his oldest two siblings. He's on the scholarly side and eventually wants to travel during his university years to learn more on what area he chooses to study.

Ok but can you imagine Felicity with a shotgun trying to scare off Eloise because she’s got the spirit but the wrong idea and while Felicity is trying to scare away Eloise off from romancing Penelope, Colin sneaks in behind Felicity to charm Penelope and Eloise is oblivious like sure Felicity I’ll come look at your watercolors away from Penelope (sends Penelope a confused look)
Omg what if this falls into the Elliot Bridgerton au?
Felicity wakes up in a cold sweat one night because she just had a dream and a realization that a Bridgerton is out to ruin her beloved sister. Her immediate thought that it's Elliot. That bastard is always hanging off her or dragging her off somewhere whenever he's home on break from University and constantly complains how much easier it would be if Penelope lived closer yet he won't marry her?!
Felicity often hears rumors that Elliot is just sowing his wild oats and then he'll properly court Penelope. Felicity huffs and calls bullshit. I mean hell! That family friendly tea party Lady Danbury threw the other day Felicity could feel Bridgerton's eyes on her family.
She would challenge him to a duel, but Penelope forbade it. Apparently, it's illegal, and both Felicity and Elliot are too good of shots. So she does the next best thing. Be a constant pain in the ass and pull Elliot off to somewhere else. He's so competitive like Hyacinth. It's wasy to pull him into games. Maybe Penelope will finally get a proper suitor.
Unknown to Felicity she had the right idea but the wrong Bridgerton. The whole time she's trying to drag Elliot away Colin has more freedom to approach Penelope uninterrupted. This has led to some interesting interactions. One that had Felicity breaking a tea cup when Colin walked in on their family meeting dragging Penelope behind him, requesting permission to marry her from their mother.
When Portia excused Felicity to get her watercolors she really ran to go get sunshine.

I say for the benophie season, if they are bringing in new blood for Sophie's family (we're going to ignore certain theories right now), then they should cast Lucy Punch to play Araminta. Let her graduate from evil stepsister to evil stepmother.
For those curious this is Lucy Punch
Tumblr media
Look familiar? If you're a fan of Cinderella and it's many retellings you might know her from one of these four movies/tv show.
Cinderella (2000)
Tumblr media
Ella Enchanted (2004)
Tumblr media
Into the Woods (2014)
Tumblr media
There was also Fairy Tales (2008), but I couldn't find a good picture of just her. But this woman has played the evil stepsister on four separate occasions, and she loves that role. In my personal opinion she's good at it too. Obviously, now she's aged out of the role, but I would love to see her take on evil stepmother Araminta. Especially if we get Portia and Araminta beefing over maid stealing that season, too.

I just would love to see what Colin is thinking while the rest of his brothers are beating up Phillip
" I left my sexy wife for this"
" how would Eloise feel if I got myself kidnapped on her honeymoon? Why she so rude to me??"
" this is the most time alone I've had with Penelope in ages and Eloise can't even let me honeymoon in peace"
"wait a minute... Dots connected... Kidnapped Eloise = more Penelope for me"
" if Phillip keeps Eloise, then I won't have to share my wife with her"
" New plan, befriend this Phillip guy, convince him Eloise isn't annoying, bribe him to extend Eloise stay at his house, possibly forever, no, no, Anthony's way is better, force them to marry"
"Argh Pen would have better ideas, Pen is so smart, and witty...and sexy"
" I MISS MY WIFE"

Alright- not sure what kind of prompt you want, so "loving you comes easily to me" as a quote/prompt, OR Getting ready together- for a shopping expedition, or a visit to someone, or whatever.
Oh this gives me an idea! Time to bring back the crack ship!
"Ladies rise and shine!"
The two women who were peacefully sleeping moments ago groaned as the curtains were thrown open.
Felicity tried to roll over but the body wrapped around her refused to budge.
"Your lover is awake," Lucy yawned, her voice slightly muffled from being buried in Felicity's chest.
Felicity threw her free arm over her eyes. "Before noon, he's your husband."
"Actually, ladies, you will find I am both," Gregory said as he kissed both of them on the forehead. "And a father to our delightful children, who are very excited about the family picnic today and have requested their mothers to make haste with getting dressed."
Both Lucy and Felicity groaned again but also disentangle themselves from the other. Now sitting up properly Gregory nodded with a smile.
"I'll finish getting the kids ready while you two dress. Don't have too much fun ladies!" Gregory laughed as he ran out the door, narrowly dodging the pillow Felicity threw at him.
"Dork!" Felicity yelled.
"A dork that belongs to both of you!" Gregory yelled back, halfway down the hall. Laughter from the children could be heard as well. Some cheered their father while the some, most notably the older children, groaned.
Lucy shook her head at their antics, a smile on her face. "Shall I ring for a maid?"
"It will probably be faster for us to help each other," Felicity said. Standing up the blanket fully fell away from her naked body.
Lucy stood as well. "You are probably right."
The two women both opted for more casual dresses. It was after all a countryside picnic with their children today, no doubt they'll get plenty of activity. Chemises on they began to lace up the other's stays. Felicity being cheeky, tugged the laces closer to her, bringing Lucy's neck closer to her lips.
"Litty!" Lucy gasped.
Felicity laughed and moved away to grab her petticoat and stockings.
Gowns on the two women also opted for simple hairstyles today, too. Felicity braided back Lucy's hair. Lucy pinned Felicity's hair up into a bun.
Both now fully dressed, the two women made their way downstairs, where their husband and children waited for them.
