A part me mourns that we won't have Felicity on the show. Could you imagine the chaos that 12 year old would bring trying to captain the polin ship meanwhile trying to outplan her older sister and future brother in law?
Colin and Penelope: *makes plans to help wingman and catch Penelope a husband*
Felicity: *internally screaming*

"I have that Lady Whistledown figured out," Lady Danbury said.
"You do?" Felicity asked.
"She's soft at heart," the old lady continued. "You see that one"---she poked her cane in the direction of the cellist, nearly piercing Eloise's ear in the process---"right over there?"
"Yes," Eloise said, rubbing her ear, "although I don't think I'm going to be able to hear her."
"Probably a blessing," Lady Danbury said before turning back to the subject at hand. "You can thank me later."
"You were saying something about the cellist?" Penelope said swiftly, before Eloise said something entirely inappropriate.
"Of course I was. Look at her," Lady Danbury said. "She's miserable. And well she should be. She's clearly the only one who has a clue as to how dreadful they are. The other three don't have musical sense of a gnat."
Penelope have her younger sister a rather smug glance.
"You mark my words," Lady Danbury said. "Lady Whistledown won't have a thing to say about this musical. She won't want to hurt that one's feelings. The rest of them---"
Felicity, Penelope, and Eloise all ducked as the cane came swinging by.
"Bah. She couldn't care less about the rest of them."
"It's an interesting theory," Penelope said.
Lady Danbury sat back contentedly in her chair. "Yes, it is. Isn't it?"
Penelope nodded. "I think you're right."
"Hmmph. I usually am."

This except its just Hyacinth explaining that this is her best friend Felicity and Felicity’s sister Penelope, who’s Hyacinth’s sister Eloise’s best friend but also their sister in law because she married their brother Colin, which technically makes Colin Felicity’s brother too.

You know, I love Bridgerton, and season 2 is literally my favourite, but sometimes I’m still pissed at how they handled everything with lady whistledown and the Colin-Penloise storyline.
The fact that the Featheringtons had such a big portion of screen time, to the point that we know very little about the Sharmas, is very disappointing. To build Pen’s storyline they effed up Kate’s, and most of all Benedict’s future one. The order of storylines would’ve been so much better for so many characters if the Featherington family had less but consistent screentime throughout more seasons.
To me, the season 1 finale shouldn’t have revealed that Pen was LW. It should’ve stayed a mystery for that moment, to give the watchers the time to speculate and everything.
That way in season 2 we would’ve had more space for other storylines. Yes, the Featherington would still have screen time, but not as much as they did in canon. They could’ve added Felicity and a storyline tied to that, leaving the majority of space to the Sharma family backstory and storyline. And, we could’ve had the grounds to introduce Sophie and set up Benedict’s season. In the finale we would’ve got the LW reveal.
Then it would’ve been Benedict’s turn to have a storyline with Sophie in “season 3”. In parallel, the LW and Featherington storyline of S2 would’ve unfolded later, with Penloise’s fall out at the end of “season 3”.
At that point Pen would be in the marriage market for 4 years, and season 3’s previously set storyline would have unfolded. Not only that, but it would directly tie to Eloise’s story the following season.
I don’t know, I just think this order of things would’ve been so much better for so many characters. More of Kate and her backstory during her season, a nice season for Ben and Sophie, an organic amount of Featherington in all seasons without overshadowing the LI’s own storylines, and then a back to back continuation of the Pen-Eloise drama.
You see, in the books, Pen’s marriage is what makes El desire to marry as well. They will surely change that for Show!Eloise because of the different characterization, but it still could’ve made sense. Based on how things are set now, either Benedict’s story will be pushed further back to season 5 to keep the continuation of the Penloise storyline, or season 4 will be centered on Benedict but once again overshadowed by the LW drama.
I love Bridgerton, I do, it’s one of my fav series at the moment. But as a writer, I also think that consistency is important in the grand scheme of things, especially in a series like this. The urge to unmask LW for the watcher effed up multiple characters’ storylines. Especially since the Queen Charlotte spinoff happened even without LW and the Queen’s storyline drama. QC’s few present-set moments didn’t even acknowledge all the beef between Charlotte and LW. It could’ve been a nice set up for the “season 3” beef tho, since Pen talked so much about George and Princess Charlotte’s death.
So yeah, sorry for the rant, but this back and forth in storylines just rubs me the wrong way.

I Should Be So Lucky (Lucky, Lucky, Lucky)
Tumblr media
Pairings: Colin Bridgerton + Penelope Featherington
Summary: Penelope sings little Augie Basset to sleep in the Bridgerton's drawing room, as Colin beings to realise what is in front of him. Song: I Should Be So Lucky by Kylie Minogue.
Tumblr media
Penelope was on her weekly visit to Number 5 when Daphne came in carrying her wailing son. She looked exhausted, Violet knew that poor Daphne and Simon had been up all night trying to soothe their son (making sure their nurse had at least one night to herself).
"Oh, my darling," Violet said, reaching over to take her daughter and grandson tightly in her arms.
"We don't know what to do anymore, mama," Daphne sighs, looking down at her son as she sways and pats his back repeatedly.
Violet sighed, knowing how distressing it can be for both parent and child - as both Colin and Daphne did this as babies. She reaches over and takes Augie from her arms, and Daphne collapsed in the most ungraceful way Violet has ever seen her.
Violet looked between her exhausted daughter and her crying grandson, as she didn't know who to comfort first.
But her saviour came in the form of Penelope Featherington.
"I remember when Felicity was like this, I can remember some of the things our nurse did to soothe her," Penelope said, pulling Augie out of Violet's arms. "Come to Auntie Pen, shhh."
Violet watched as Penelope bounced gently on the balls of her feet, and patted his back.
Francesca had been tinkling with the pianoforte, the third youngest Bridgerton kept looking over at Penelope and Augie.
Penelope was humming to herself, which caught the attention of Francesca who turned to the pianoforte and went along with her humming and found the song it seemed like Penelope was going to sing to Augie.
"In my imagination, there is no complication. I dream about you all the time, in my mind, a celebration, the sweetest of sensation. Thinking you could be mine," Penelope started, capturing the attention of all of the Bridgertons. "In my imagination, there is no hesitation. We walk together hand in hand, I'm dreaming. You fell in love with me, like I'm in love with you. But dreaming's all I do if only they'd come true."
Violet looked over at Penelope, she was one of the first people to realise that the third Featherington daughter loved her third son.
Eloise noticed at this moment that her best friend loved someone with her whole heart, and there was no moving on from whoever this is.
Benedict, the resident flirt in the Bridgerton household, looked over at his younger brother and could see something twinkling in Colin's eyes. He looked over at his mother and knew that Colin would never realise his feelings for Penelope unless something got in the way and he would nearly lose Penelope.
"I should be so lucky. Lucky, lucky, lucky. I should be so lucky in love. I should be so lucky. Lucky, lucky, lucky. I should be so lucky in love," Penelope sang as the three 'lucky's were being joined in by Francesca.
Hyacinth was sitting at the smaller table, with her younger brother Gregory and the youngest Featherington, Felicity. The three of them were watching Colin who continued to gaze at Penelope unashamedly.
Anthony and Kate were also watching Colin, as Kate was sitting in her husband's lap with her arms wrapped around his neck.
"How stupid is your brother?" Kate asked, taking her eyes away from Colin and looking at Anthony.
The eldest Bridgerton child looked at his wife, with a smirk growing on his face. "Which one?"
"It's a crazy situation, you always keep me waiting, because it's only make-believe. And I would come a-running, to give you all my loving. If one day, you would notice me," Penelope sang, her hand patting Augie's back, almost as if she was expecting him to pass some form of gas."My heart is close to breaking, and I can't go on faking. The fantasy that you'll be mine, I'm dreaming. That you're in love with me, like I'm in love with you. But dreaming's all I do if only they'd come true."
Colin's heart stopped when Penelope sang about a fantasy, remembering the Whistledown that Eloise had slammed in front of him.
Mr Colin Bridgerton has made it very clear that he would never court Penelope Featherington, as she continues to look like a sour lemon, in his wildest fantasies. It won't be long before Penelope Featherington will take him off the pedestal she put him on.
As the words of Lady Whistledown echoed around his head, that is when it hit him - the love his mother had described with his father, how she always hoped her children would have a love matched rather than having a marriage of convenience. The love match he had been searching for was in front of him the whole time. Penelope Featherington. His Pen.
Penelope and Francesca sang the chorus twice and then it came around to the pre-chorus again. "In my imagination, there is no hesitation. We walk together hand in hand, I'm dreaming. You fell in love with me, like I'm in love with you. But dreaming's all I do if only they'd come true."
As Penelope and Francesca sang the final two lines five times('I should be so lucky. Lucky, lucky, lucky. I should be so lucky in love'), I should, Benedict wrapped his arms around Penelope, smiling over at Colin.
Colin could feel his nose twitching, along with his knuckles. He never expected to be jealous of his older brother and watched as Penelope pulled herself away from Benedict and set Augie in the cradle that had been purposely set there for him
"That was amazing," Daphne smiled, resting her entire body in Violet's arms.
Penelope shrugged, running a thumb along the top of Augie's head and then made her way over and sat next to Eloise.
"Benedict, can I speak to you? Outside?" Colin nearly growled at his brother, pointing to the door. "Now?"
Anthony looked between Benedict and Colin and then looked at his wife. "I think I should supervise these two."

if the featheringtons live in modern era, i'm 1000% convinced that portia would join "the housewives of mayfair" before make her own spin-offs "keeping up with the featheringtons". imagine the chaotic comedy this family could bring 🤣

Wait in the book when Colin came to propose to Penelope, Mrs. Featherington assumed he was there for Felicity. But the character of Felicity doesn't exist in the Netflix show, and even if she did she'd be too young because they didn't do the time skip. Which means if that still scene happens, the person that Portia is likely to push on Colin, the only other daughter she has left at home other than Penelope, is Prudence.

What do we think will happen with Prudence this season?
In the novel she’s already married off, but the novel also has some not so insignificant scenes with the missing-from-the-show younger sister Felicity Featherington. Personally, I think that they may have Prudence fill in during those moments, which will be absolutely hilarious because Felicity, much like Pen, is quite sharp and in those moments of her mother meddling she was embarrassed and did her best to redirect. Prudence, however, I think would be quite clueless and absolutely go along with it, leading to a whole different level of shenanigans.
Anyway, I just hope they include the Featherington Family Meeting™️

I just had an idea. So we know Felicity is supposed to be a talented little artist right? What if she just paints all her family members around the house. Like little snapshots. It's not odd to see Felicity in a random corner of the house painting whatever or whoever is in the room.
She has a portrait of Portia at teatime, and one of Penelope at her writing desk. There's one of Prudence doing needlework, and one of Philippa brushing her hair out for bed. Of course, she has one of her bestie Hyacinth surrounded by her named flower.
She currently has an ongoing series that she dubs The Love Language of Food. She has a completed portrait of her sister Philippa and her husband, Albion Finch, lovingly sharing a plate of cheese. It was sickenly gross. She also has a portrait of that funny time where Prudence was hand feeding her new husband, Harry Dankworth, some grapes. He looked so silly, with that silly smile on his face.
Penelope technically has a portrait Felicity painted for this collection, but also technically it isn't. The person she's with isn't her partner, and Felicity supposed if everything worked out she soon could add an official portrait to this collection should Penelope marry Lord Debling.
Felicity made a face at the thought, her nose scrunched up and her lips pouted. She rather her sister didn't marry Lord Debling. Sure, the man had a love for vegetables, or rather an abhorrence for any meat, but he didn't really fit with the theme of this series. At least in Felicity's opinion.
Felicity looked over at the portrait she's unofficially dubbed as Penelope's. The portrait itself was from a tea time that got a little wild. Felicity and Hyacinth had ganged up on Hyacinth's brother Gregory, pelting him with the scones. He had tried to get them back with some jam but as always Gregory's aim was terrible and ended up hitting one of his older sisters. As there was no proper adult supervision a full on food fight broke out between the Bridgerton siblings and the two Featherington sister.
At one point during the food fight Felicity happened to look over at her sister, who was covered in food, next to her laughing was Colin Bridgerton, who was also covered in food. They were both laughing, and at one point Penelope pulled some sort of frosting out of her hair to lob it against Colin. The image stuck with Felicity and she added it to her snapshot collection.
Maybe Felicity could officially accept this portrait for Penelope's? After all isn't friendship another type of love? Felicity liked to think so. At the very least they looked fond of one another, as they always did in her portraits.
At the very least, if Felicity kept this portrait in, she wouldn't have to add Lord Debling. There's no way he beats Colin's love of food.

We’ve had a scandalous Featherington cousin in the two first seasons.
Tumblr media
I’m wondering if we’re going to meet another Featherington cousin in season 3 and if they too will be led into questionable behavior by Portia.
Tumblr media
Maybe the show will introduce Felicity Featherington as a cousin since in the book she’s the 4th (youngest) Featherington sister.

Okokokokokokokok I'm definitely not into period drama or anything and the ONLY REASON I WATCH THEM IS TO POINT OUT HISTORICAL INCONSISTENCIES
So what do I do
I watch Bridgerton
And fuck me it's actually pretty good (not excatly historically) but like I was enjoying it
And the only thing I'm confused by is normally I can figure out most of the plot by fandom content
So what I knew before watching the show was
Anthony is a boob
Eloise likes books and is queer coded
Benedict had two lines and is also queer coded
Colin existed
Dapphne is pretty
The Duke is a slut
Penelopy doesn't like yellow
Her sisters and mother are like the evil step family in Cinderella
Edwina has no personality
Kate hates Anthony (but does she???)
NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I SEEN SUCH AN INJUSTICE TO ITS ACTUAL SOURCE MATERIAL!!!!!
Now what I said before is mostly true but let's makes some edits (spoilers)
Anthony is a boob but only because my man is traumatised af "i wont rather everyone hate me then love me because if they love me then if i die itll cause them pain so to make sure they never feel pain im going to make sure they dont love me"
Eloise likes books and is also a feminist ICON and I think they threw away her queer coding
Benedict has like 4 lines but they're all amazing and he's probably by favourite character also i think they threw away is queer coding
Colin actually stays pretty true both ways they only thing is that he's actually the kindest character in the whole show
Dapphne knows what she wants and if her beauty is going to help her get it then she'll fucking use it (traumatised older sibling vibes too)
The Duke is a slut but only because he promised not to feel love (marriage and children and shit) (no wonder him and Anthony are besties)because he wants to spite his dead abusive father that didn't want him to feel love so I think it kinda back fires but I get it ig
Penelopy doesn't like yellow because it significance of her mother's oppressive clutch on her life and also feminist icon too nobody really acknowledges that just bc she's not as radical as Eloise
Her sisters and mother are actually the funniest characters on the show but the Cinderella metaphor still applies
Edwina has no personality for most of s2 and then they decided to give her some and then pretended it was there all along
Kate hates EVERYONE not just Anthony

STAW can you give us a snippet of hyacinth-felicity best friendism 😤
BTF, YES, because you asked nicely 😚
This is a long-standing WIP ("A bad boy piece of information") going through the years of Hyacinth and Felicity's friendship.
“No, sorry, I cannot tell you,” Hyacinth interrupted, firmly shaking her head. Though the expression on her face was solemn and slightly pinched, the tone in her voice made it sound as though she were trying not to laugh. “It’s secret Bridgerton business.”
“And since when do you not tell me Bridgerton business?” Felicity asked, looking offended. She rather had a point- history certainly supported her side of the argument.
But Hyacinth just shrugged, a tiny smirk on her lips. “I think you might just have to make yourself a Bridgerton to learn any more.”
Felicity gave her an immense roll of her eyes, crossing her arms just to immediately uncross them (her mother had started adding more ruffles to her sleeves whenever she caught her arms across her chest). ‘Well, then, I-”
And then she abruptly stopped, clamped her mouth shut, and shrugged, turning to look down at her embroidery instead.
Hyacinth’s eyes narrowed as they sat there in silence, foot tapping the ground impatiently.
Silent treatment was not going to work, not on her.
She had three sisters, for goodness’s sake. She could do silent treatment.
She was not going to be Eloise in this situation, she was going to be Francesca. Calm, stoic, enragingly unbothered.
