I’m now hoping that the fair that brings the hot air balloon to London in Season 3, brings a fortune teller who tells Colin & Penelope that they’re soulmates.🦋💕🐝

I just love the idea of Polin having their first kiss in episode two because it creates an opportunity for a slower build-up in intimacy than we've seen in past seasons. Simon and Daphne's first kiss is in episode 4 and their first time is in episode 5. Kate and Anthony have a longer slow burn and build-up in tension, but when they have their first kiss in episode 6, it escalates quickly to their first time in episode 7. Even Charlotte and George kiss in episode 1 and have sex at the end of episode 2.
Having Pen and Colin kiss in episode two gives the show a bit of breathing room and could freshen up the structure of the show. They have their first kiss in episode two, which leads to sexual tension in episode 3 that then gets released in a more passionate make-out session (episode 4, carriage scene), which shifts their relationship dynamic and then builds to their first time in episode 6 or 7 when they confess their love to each other (mirror scene). And this kind of structure where the moments are more spread out adds to the themes of growing individually and with your partner.

The Female Lead's Female Gaze moments (This post if mostly for the ladies out there)
In Bridgerton the female lead of the season has had a moment where they gaze well...rather thirsty at their male leads.
Season 1
We had Daphne getting all hot and bothered by Simon below.
Season 2
We had Kate getting very caught in her feels over a very wet Anthony below.
Season 3
So finally, I give you what I think could be the potential scene where our dear Penelope will get her moment in seeing her Colin with his rippling muscles of his arms and legs while holding back the balloon ropes below.
I believe this moment in action is going to potentially give us ladies major vapors as some would call it. I picture some close ups of his arms and legs working hard to hold back that balloon and some desire filled gazing from Penelope. It's going to be moving and Inspiring for Pen.
Now I think something must happen after this that will be comical overall, but a little more frightening for Pen. She may really get worried for Colin's well-being based off the picture we got earlier of her and Debling on the blanket, Pen looking very concerned. Her love for Colin would do that.

The treatment that Luke and Nicola are receiving from some “fans” is horrendous. Y’all hated Anthony in season one but worshipped him in season two - and I get that you want him and Kate to have more screen time (I want that as well), but saying they deserve more screen time than Colin and Penelope is just disappointing. We don’t even know anything about season 3 yet or have an idea about what it’s going to be like because we haven’t received one of those “first look scenes” or even a teaser trailer. When people say they have no “chemistry” - they don’t have many scenes together in the first two seasons, and for what it’s worth Luke and Nicola are both incredible actors and deserve respect.
I am very excited for season three and am impatiently waiting for some sort of release date announcement or “first look scene” like we had for Queen Charlotte and season 2. Lord and Lady Whistledown are about to run the ton.

Even when they are oblivious to the love in their heart, it bleeds all over the floor.”, said Kate as she turned and smiled at Penelope. “It can be daunting, especially when it is something you never expected for yourself. And I think maybe you and I are similar in that we created a life which made it difficult to allow for such expectations.”
Today it's been 2 years since the publication of The Path Forward heralded my return to fanfiction. Since then, over 900 kind souls have left kudos and comments, making my heart soar and spirits fly. I cannot thank you all enough for the inspiration that propelled me to continue writing, rediscovering my long lost love of the craft.
I am currently on hiatus for personal reasons, but I wanted to put this up today as a show of gratitude to all readers and writers out there. I also want to take the chance to bid the events of The Path Forward farewell, now that the third season is almost upon us with a plot that does not make room for my hopeful speculations in that particular piece.
Like all of you, I cannot wait to see how Colin's and Penelope's beautiful friends-to-lovers story unfolds, and will ride all the emotions with you come May 16th.
In the meantime, if you're bored or just curious, feel free to give The Path Forward a little love before it officially transforms from speculation to alternate take for season 3.

You know what if they reverse the what is love conversation on us.
Instead of Colin asking what love is from either kathony, Violet, or Daphne, we have a scene between him and Francesca with her asking him. She's nervous because even though her courtship with John Stirling is going well, fantastic even, and most likely heading towards marriage, there's still that small voice of doubt in her head.
So maybe she seeks out different family members with the question. While they all give her good advice, there's still that voice in her head, so she goes to the one person she knows about who had a failed engagement. Maybe Francesca feels like she needs to hear what love doesn't feel like. Or maybe by this point, polin is already engaged, and Francesca wants to know the difference of Colin's feelings between his relationship with Marina and with Penelope. Or possibly Colin just so happens to stumble upon her, and she asks her question.
Wanting to comfort his sister, Colin attempts to answer her question, and we slowly see him come to the realization that he's in love with Penelope.
I think it be cute. If they are planning to pair them up as the next sibling pair, I could see this being a potential route they could take. It would also leave a nice potential pathway come Francesca's season when she's struggling with her feelings towards Michael. Maybe she'll go to Colin once more, and his can also lead to him telling Michael to just marry Francesca already.

Everyone keeps talking about Pen's dress here, but it was Eloise's dress that really stood out to me. In previous seasons Eloise typically wears dresses that are inspired in someway by meanswear. She wears heavier fabrics, avoids lace, and in season 2 specifically, she is ocasionally seen wearing stripes or plaid. The most noticable and perhaps most iconic part of her day dresses are the chemisette she wears underneath to appear more buttoned up and to avoid being sexualized. We never see her without a chemisette accept for balls or special occasions.
In this shot Eloise is wearing much lighter fabrics, the sleeves are sheer, she's holding a shaw which is something we've almost never seen her wear (She wears one at the theatre in 1x07 and Daphne's ball in 1x08 as a part of her "soft launch debut"), and for the first time with one of her day dresses, she is not wearing a chemisette
Now, to be fair, the neckline on both Pen and El's actual dress is significantly higher than what we've seen in previous seasons, so a chemisette may not be necessary here. But the entire look feels very different for El. It's not the same huge contrast that we see with Pen, but it indicates that El is likely going through her own evolution this season and I'm intrigued to see what that is.

Its possible this is one of those insane 2am thoughts that will go nowhere, BUT: I really want to see Colin in season 3 find out that Penelope is Lady Whistledown in the middle of rejection hell trying to publish his journals. Like, I want him ten rejection letters deep and questioning everything from his talent to his self worth when he finds put that Pen is the author of the runaway influential column. The hissy fit (and subsequent groveling when he pulls himself together and apologizes for said hissy fit) would be LEGENDARY.
Stack that on top of the helping her find a husband thing and we have a recipe for an angsty, jealous on multiple levels, completely feral Colin Bridgerton

In season 3 of Bridgerton I would like there to be a scene where Colin walks into the drawing room and tells his family he and Penelope are engaged and then show everyone’s reactions. I can’t remember if that’s in the books or not but I think it’d be hilarious and wholesome. I think it could go a bit like this:
Anthony: “Why would someone as sweet and gentle as Penelope Featherington want to marry you?”
Violet: “Anthony! Colin dearest I am so very pleased for the two of you.”
Eloise: “Don’t get excited mother I’m sure this is one of Colin’s many jests, right?”
Colin: “...”
Eloise: “Colin Bridgerton look me in the eyes and tell me you do not plan on marrying my best friend.”
Hyacinth: “I think Penelope is absolutely beautiful and will make a wonderful bride.”
Benedict: “Well he finally got his head out of his ass.”
Colin: “Why does our youngest brother look like he’s planning a murder?”
Gregory: *glares at Colin from the corner of the room*
(I feel like at some point Gregory had a crush on Penelope and would say to Colin “If you will not marry her than I shall.”)
