I go back to Twitter to follow Critical Role, and I find out more updated news on the horrid last year of Pre Pandemic Life. I wonder what it will take for me to have my broken heart to find the healing that it needs.

I know Weird Al Yankovic has already spoofed off of Backstreet Boys’ song, “I Want It That Way”. But my stubborn habit of enjoying my own Happy Reality Bubble needs it again.

I love you, trans people with intellectual disabilities. You deserve to have the same opportunities as everybody else, and that's because you are a person. You deserve to be happy. Intellectually disabled trans people deserve the exact same respect, recognition, and love that (should be) afforded to everybody else.

Intellectually disabled trans people, you deserve to make your own decisions about your transness. You are allowed to want for transition or to change your name, clothes, hair, pronouns, or anything else. You deserve support and understanding. I hope you are able to receive that. You belong in this world as your true self. Your transness and your disability/disabilities are not bad things - they are good, and they are important.

i hope choosing hope and kindness pays dividends. i hope the soft traits that made other characters continually disparage and underestimate him and his intelligence turn out to be his greatest assets bc i kinda don’t give a shit about a “toughen up it’s the only way everyone else knows better” life lesson for this character

(which like honestly a lot of the rhetoric is dismissive of the fact that persistent goodness in the face of an existence of disparagement takes great strength and that at the end of the day aziraphale has always been able to stand up in his own way)

everyone always talks about That One panel of Trigun: Multiple Bullets, but i havent seen anyone talk about how fucking BATSHIT INSANE the surrounding fight is

like

Vash & Wolfwood fighting back-to-back, both using the punisher as a shield

(the rest under a readmore bc this accidentally got LONG...)

Vash seeing the shots coming from behind & purposefully not moving bc he knows if he does, Wolfwood would get hit

Wolfwood getting injured too, but not moving from Vash's back. the way he's stanced, it looks Protective. he's doing what he can to keep Vash out of the direct line of fire.

even when he's getting shot up for it, he Doesn't Move. (this also seems to be the moment he got hurt, which leads into the panel later)

& throughout this whole scene, we are only seeing Wolfwood's reactions.

until the girls give them an opening, and they burst out with THIS:

Wolfwood injured, so he can't properly aim the punisher... and he gets around this by sticking one of the leather straps in his Mouth

and then we FINALLY get to see Vash's face again as he grabs the punisher (with a "GAN" sound effect, so he fuckin SLAPPED that metal hand on the punisher).

Wolfwood trusts him enough to just do what he says in the thick of battle, so we FINALLY get to the iconic panel:

which brings us to the aboslute insanity of what Vash is actually Doing.

"DON DON" -> two shots fired for two missiles launched. he literally manages to TURN THEM AROUND MID-FLIGHT (interesting to note that they seem to have internal propulsion, rather than simply being fired by Wolfwood. how many of these does Wolfwood have? they seem heavy.)

he manages to avert the third missile from hitting the dude directly, and instead makes it land Behind him. then the other two missiles, he rests his arm on Wolfwood's shoulders to hit them and direct them behind the other two enemies

Boom.

killing no-one, but showing an INSANE level of fine control AND teamwork.

and in the end, Wolfwood's arm is in a cast, Vash seems either unhurt or hurt but unbothered by it (typical Vash). And Life Goes On.

It's important to note:

'Fighting Antisemitism' and 'Protecting Jewish Lives' has to include all Jews, even the ones that you disagree with or dislike (Yes, even that one), or you aren't doing either.

Once you start sorting Jews into "Good Jew" (worthy of humanity unless they fall out of line) and "Bad Jews" (irredeemable and not worthy of humanity) for any reason, you're not an ally, you are antisemitic.

His client had just finished filling his stomach, and they were already squirming around in either displeasure or panic. "Easy, easy..." He patted at the squirming bulge in his stomach in an effort to soothe them. "I'm here to keep you safe, remember? You'll be escorted just as I promised, sorry about swallowing you so suddenly like that...but nobody should bother you if you're hidden. Just sit tight and relax, alright bud?"

Although his methods were a little...unorthodox, he enjoyed getting escort jobs. In general he loved working as a sort of bodyguard, protecting people made him feel happy and fulfilled. Though eating his clients wasn't exactly a part of the job...their motto was "Your Shield," and what better way to do that than to shield someone with your whole body? Anything that wanted to hurt them would literally have to go through him, and he wasn't about to make it easy for anyone.

Resting his hand on his stomach, he felt his charge finally start to settle down. Good, now he could start moving. The other good thing about this is that he didn't have to worry about eating on the job like this...though he might take a few breaks along the way. Working on a full stomach did feel pretty nice.

Artists creating specifically to sell and trading off (some of) their own style to do it, activists begging for attention and shares and media coverage because they aren't being paid enough attention, UNWRA desperate for donations, the percentage of people who don't mask in 2024 compared to deaths and disabilities, ppl who need to be convinced to vote with principles that save lives and that genocide is unacceptable, how a living wage or UBI is believed to be "unrealistic" despite the trillions in shareholder investment accounts.

....I'm starting to think Mainstream People™ fucking suck, ngl. In fact, dare I say that Mainstream People are the biggest obstacle to progress now.

Malcolm X said it was the white liberal as did a lot of other revolutionaries and thinkers.

I, however, think anyone who can hold their own comfort over someone else's suffering is the problem.

Why are the rest of us constantly begging and shouting and changing ourselves and our bodies in an effort to make them care about us? To make them see us? To give us rights? To bless us with the support needed to make a living?

Same shit, different generations. And idk about y'all, but I would love to be the last generations who ever had to hate themselves to survive.

problems with beast world aside im loving the JLA/titans parallels to the Titans protecting Gar/Vic at all costs.

I think its a super interesting way to bring the titans in their first crisis, a callback to arguable their first crisis that involved the whole dc universe and to really dig into what it means to be the Titans.

#vashwood #vash the stampede #nicholas d. wolfwood #trigun #trigun maximum #nicolas d wolfwood #my spin on how they started to really fall for each other tbh..... i mean #my hc is that vash fell first --> hence ch 21 -- which is kind of funny bc they had a lot of back and forths and conflict between one anothe #but i Cannot be convinced otherwise that when vash woke up and saw wolfwood bedridden next to him #that expression alone was filled with so much worry and care and i think that feeling of gratitude and knowing wolfwood had survived pushed #the level of affection.... also those few chapters where theyre just hanging out in the ship honestly feels so domestic amongst everything #which is the kind of atmosphere where i think vash thrives upon the most and is able to feel #comfortable and open to relieve any inner buried feelings...#for wolfwood id like to think he always felt a little drawn to vash due to not only his mission but also bc vash Forces him to be worried #all the time so-- he's just always on the mind and coupled with their initial opposing ideologies #i think ultimately in ch 35 is when he stopped having any feelings of doubt in vash and caved to realizing that he /wants/ to protect him #and also just loves him. a lot!#anyway this is so gushy but i love them so much #these thoughts plague me #ruporas art
