As you read this, Coastal GasLink drills beneath the sacred headwaters of the Wedzin Kwa. The ground shakes in Wet’suwet’en territories. For every tremor of the earth as they drive their borehead and blast their explosives through riverbed and rock, right beneath schools of spawning salmon, tremors of pain and rage reverberate through the hearts of those who still have space to feel it.
Death surrounds us. Salmon die en masse as creeks run dry. Massive areas of once-flourishing rainforest burn. A billion snow crabs disappear and die in Alaska. Climate chaos runs rampant while mega projects churn the living world into a living nightmare. So many people pass out of this world too soon. Maybe it gets called suicide. Or overdose. Or stroke. Maybe it is a police bullet that rips through flesh and organs. All of this is the manifestation of the unbearable pain, suffering and violence brought on by colonialism and the state.
In “british columbia” it is the RCMP who defend and enforce this violence. And where extractive industries meet indigenous resistance the RCMP employ a specialized division called Community-Industry Response Group. It is C-IRG cops who volunteer to raid, surveil, harass, and brutalize land defenders on behalf of their corporate masters.
Early on October 26th four C-IRG vehicles in Smithers were set ablaze while C-IRG officers slept just meters away. The fires damaged or destroyed all four trucks and spread to several industry vehicles and an ambulance in the parking lot. The CGL and BC Hydro trucks burned are hardly regrettable. The damaged ambulance was unfortunate and unintended. No one was injured in this action because steps were taken to ensure no one would be. Vehicles were only lit where it was certain fire would not spread to structures or endanger life.
The violence enacted by industry and enforced by the police damns an entire planet to a fiery desertified future. Recognizing the fact that each of us has a stake in this struggle means recognizing the importance of acting with our own agency, autonomy, and urgency. We must all sharpen our pain into the determination necessary to act against those responsible for our suffering.
There are no words to be shared with government or industry that can change the core of their nature. These institutions are not people. They have no soul, no ethics, and no conscience. Their driving force is profit at any cost, and they cannot be negotiated or reasoned with.
Liberals and centrists want politics to be neat and tidy, within the bounds of respectability. The labeling of actions outside of these bounds as a ‘false flag’ operation severely limits our ability to broaden the scope of struggle and directly challenge the state’s violence. Successful movements utilize a broad set of tactics to achieve their goals. False flag accusations only serve to isolate those who choose to engage in more confrontational actions from broader support, which is dangerous and limiting. If there is a conspiracy here, it is the overt collusion between corporations and state forces to continue the legacy of genocidal violence on indigenous peoples and land.
Burning cop cars is easy. Taking the steps to prevent arrests is less so. Research methods that work; warriorup.noblogs.org is a good place to start. Use security oriented and open source tech tools on public WiFi for this, or better yet, go old-school and get books. Test your methods. Think carefully about how fire can spread to make sure you will not unintentionally burn down a building or cause injury. Know how to avoid leaving evidence. Think critically about the consequences of action as well as inaction. Trust your rebellious instincts and move with courage.
It has always been the time to fight. It still is.

Emergency! Need $75 by November 30th!
This is my cat Marcus:
Tumblr media
Marcus has an appointment on November 30th to be neutered. The lowball estimate (bare bones, just the surgery and the cone of shame) is $258. I want to get his nails trimmed and get Gabapentin for the after-surgery pain, which bumps it up to $290. Currently I have $215 after reluctantly spending some of the money on groceries. I need to raise the rest by noon on November 30th. Please help?

Today is #GivingTuesday!
As most of you know I am fundraising to receive life saving ketamine infusions at a clinic in Florida to treat my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I cannot tell you how blessed and grateful I am to have this opportunity. There is so little research on CRPS that for years I had no hope of any treatment or symptom management. This disease ate up my life, a life which I now have the chance to get back.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To celebrate Giving Tuesday I want to share 5 things I'm excited to do after treatment:
5. Make more art - This is something that I already do, but with great difficulty. Sculpting and painting are my two favourite forms of visual art but are especially exhausting. I want to pursue my inspiration uninhibited and be able to fully express my creative vision!
4. Interact with nature - Nature has been a huge part of my mental, physical and spiritual healing. I feel most myself when I am deep in nature, but this is difficult for me because forests aren’t very wheelchair accessible. I dream of hiking, swimming, climbing, gardening, exploring this beautiful earth in every way I can.
3. Go back to school - I had to drop out of school in grade 12 because I was too sick to keep up, even with alternate education. I loved school and I love to learn. I want to finish high school and go to university to study film, visual art and writing.
2. Make movies - I am a filmmaker and have been since I first watched a movie. My love for film is my most consistent passion and driving force. I am an artist and a storyteller and I have so much to share with the world!
1. Be myself! - I want to figure out who I am and be that person with my whole heart. I got sick so young that I never had the opportunity to explore myself as an individual human being. I’ve learned so much about myself over the last year and I know there is so much of me left to discover once I am given the chance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
By supporting my fundraiser, whether through donation or sharing, you are helping me live the life I have only dreamed of. For that I am endlessly thankful.

We aren't doomed. Not yet.
So whenever y'all are done crying and are ready to get back up and keep going:
Nobody is going to save us except for us.
Companies won't stop making plastic as long as someone is buying
Ag farming will continue to be destructive as long as it's supported, start growing local and buying from local farmers instead if you can (some will even deliver to your door)
Corporations won't stop laying oil pipelines unless we start Immediately demanding ALL infrastructure to switch to resuable/sustainable energy. (cars, businesses, government buildings, private homes, etc)
Profits will always come before people as long we keep accepting "it's too expensive" & "it's too complicated to fix" as excuses for pausing progress
The best way to make a difference is by starting in your own community. Ex: Clean up your local parks & rivers, garden with plants native to your area to help (& bring back) your local pollinators & ecosystems
Look at your local native community and back their movements. For example the local tribe here is the Umatilla and they're trying to get the dam removed as it's affected the salmon runs which has negatively impacted the salmon, the Umatilla people, and the local fauna that have relied on a free running river for millenia.
Settling for less is unacceptable. Our futures are not to bargained with.
Caring about your survival is not an extremist belief, do not be gaslit into believing it is. Do not be gaslit into believing better isn't possible.
Caring about your future is not radical. Caring about the planet is not radical. Caring about natural disasters is not radical.
This is us trying to meet our most basic needs for survival: a healthy planet that isn't trying to kill us.
All of these needs have to be normalized even in social circles, not just in political circles. Talk about it in friend groups. Bring it up on posts about climate change, bring it up with influencers/celebs/orgs/politicians who pride themselves on #GoingGreen & #ZeroWaste. Argue for these points when someone starts to settle for less. We can not continue settling.
Things will get better and can be better if we just put in the work for it, I promise
There is still time and there is still hope

If you really want to help indigenous people, now is your time.
Ngati Paoa and other protestors have been occupying Putiki Bay after resource consent was given to develop it without consent from the local iwi. Today, they are blocked by police as developers being to destroy Little Blue Penguin habitat, a species on the decline with climate change and habitat destruction.
Public outrage and eyes on Putiki may be the only thing that can save Putiki now after every route has failed. Spread information about Putiki every where you can - Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, your local group chat, whatever. Please please please help save Putiki Bay, Aotearoa NZ!

I know the news is in the pocket of the ruling class and everything but I can't fucking believe ppl in philly created an entire fucking les-mis style blockade around a city block to stop cops from evicting houseless folks and that wasn't major breaking news.
Like CHAZ was in the news for fucking weeks meanwhile philly had a colossal group of homeless people set up a tent city, a bunch of black bloc folks erected a barricade by breaking into construction sites and stealing supplies, then used that barricade as a bargaining chip to negotiate the city into giving 100 homes to public housing, and nobody fucking knows about that except for a few of my friends irl. What the fuck.

Maybe unpopular take, but it will never NOT be satisfying to see a man whose career stems from making jokes about slapping women to “show them their place” get slapped just like he jokes about. The fact that it was in defense of a woman that he had just mocked in front of the people she had to work with & over (and international television) for the second time... why that just makes it even better.
Jada Pinkett Smith turned the other cheek before, y’all. Will Smith let it go before. This time, Will Smith didn’t. He drew a line in the sand and enforced it in the only language that Chris Rock seemed to understand.
Maybe like that politician who stopped going out in public after he got a milkshake thrown on him, Chris Rock will learn to keep his fucking mouth shut.

Please Help A Queer Disabled Single Mother This Holiday Season?
Hi! I had another help post going around but my mom recently made a Fundrazr for her cataract surgery so I figured I'd update it.
The first sitch: My son, Trace, is disabled. He's not currently on SSI/SSDI, though, so technically he's not supposed to live with us in our senior/disabled apartment complex. We were supposed to move out on October 21st, but we got two extra months from management since he's got a lawyer and is in the process of applying, but we have a month left and the furthest he's gotten in the process is getting the self-assessment/third party assessment filed. We're trying to get him seen by a rheumatologist because we think he has psoriatic arthritis like me but the soonest appointment is January 3rd, so we doubt we'll get an approval before January 1st. Therefor we need to raise $2000 to get movers to pack/move our belonging and get ready to live in the car for a bit while we look for new housing that will take all three of us and our three cats.
The second sitch: About two months ago my mom had her annual diabetic eye exam and they discovered cataracts in both eyes. She was scheduled to have surgery last month, but when she went in for the pre-op appointment they told her she would have to pay for the surgery out of pocket since her insurance wouldn't cover it. Why? Because she had Lasik surgery in the 90s. She and I are both on disability and thanks to loan payments and the like we usually have to beg and borrow to cover rent and all our bills. The surgery itself will range from $1000 to $1500, depending on if the surgeon is still willing to do the surgery at a cheaper price, and the rest is for transportation to and from surgery and check-up appointments for me and her.
So that's what's up at the moment. I have links below for my [email protected] (I also have Venm0 and [email protected], just ask for them) for help with moving, my mother's Fundrazr and our family Christmas wishlist since we have barely anything to give each other this year.
Any help on any of these fronts is muchly appreciated, and may you have a blessed day if you help or share.

seeing a lot of discourse within the british media about these strikes, most notably the fact that several pundits and politicians are claiming that raising wages will "increase inflation".
to be completely blunt, this claim is absolute bullshit. wages haven't kept up with inflation since the 2007 financial crisis, and yet corporations (e.g. private rail companies) have reported record profits. so how the fuck is it acceptable for corporations to enjoy massive profits, but when workers demand pay rises to be able to afford to live, its somehow wrong?
and yes, i know strikes are disruptive, but that's kind of the fucking point. direct action, whether industrial or social only works when disruptive.
so yeah, support the strikes, support workers, and fuck the companies who refuse to pay them properly.

"Do everything in your power to support dropping the charges against water protectors. For any charges not dropped, we specifically call on the Walz-Flanagan Administration, under Minn. Stat. § 8.01, to appoint Attorney General Ellison as special prosecutor for the most egregious cases, including those in which the State is extending inconsistent plea offers to water protectors."

Over 800 people were arrested – some of them multiple times – and hit with thousands of criminal charges during the peaceful resistance to the Line 3 tar sands pipeline in 2021. Some were also hit with rubber bullets, pepper balls, and hands-on “pain compliance” – human rights abuses that were addressed by two UN agencies, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders.
