I have a question for the fanfic writers among you: How do you treat your work in progress when a very similar story is put out there? Do you go on writing - in the spirit that everything is unique in its own way - or do you abandon the piece - in the spirit of preventing 'superfluous' contributions?

Let's add a further wrench into the process by saying the recently published work by another author, so similar to your own, seems so much better written than your own (granted we are always our own worst critics). Where do you go with that?

Maybe this is a question for readers, too. Do you mind reading similar works/story lines?

Dude it is SO FUN and EXCITING to see a reoccurring reader. If you've commented a handful of times on an author's work, I guarantee that they recognize you. You can't imagine how many times I've excitedly informed my friends "the person with the funny cat image commented!" "- anon is back!!!!" and the friends've recognized who I was talking about because I talk about my commenters so often LOL. We love you all!!!

i only have a few so far and they're all quite short but i'm refreshing the buck/tommy tag on ao3 every damn hour so i'll definitely be back with more soon! here's what i have so far

right in front of you by princessfbi - a soft and sweet speculation of 7x05, tommy shows up at the loft after buck cancels a date and fluff ensues.

and my heart and my hat by anonymous - tommys pov of the last few episodes with a little extra kinley fluff at the end.

hard to say by wakeupnew - another speculation fic for 7x05, awkward date included.

the skin that binds you by tiltingheartand - a cute little fic where buck wakes up with a migraine and tommy takes care of him (buck is obviously shocked by this).

you're my future, baby by wikiangela - this was so fucking cute, it's literally just really deep pillow talk about their future and i actually couldn't stop smiling. happy buck is my favourite buck.
