The writing process(for me):

-Have an interesting idea

-With minimal mental planning, just wing a chapter or two

-out of that, a million new ideas have formed, proper in depth planning and research required

-Stagnate???

After I've spent 5 hours writing fanfic.

Me: I’m going to take a little break from writing and watch my favorite tv show

Also Me: I want to make a complex fic based on the show I tried to take a break with

Also also me: internal screaming

Me, trying to unlearn shame and stop being a perfectionist:

respect your fellow fan fiction writers. They are the firefighters to the burning nightmares that our published works are. They fix all the merciless terror that we never bothered to. Putting bandaids on everybody. Embracing the side characters with barely any screen time. And they also write those nasty unhinged sex scenes that we never dared to because we knew our families would be reading our work. Say thank you bitch

i love the process of learning who my characters are as i write them

addison started out as just a smart, analytical person but now i have learnt that she is also someone who actively ranks conversations with her new coworker in her head based off of if she thinks she did well at social interaction. she's very well adjusted :)

can't wait to get into Dahlia's pov and discover what sort of weirdo she is in her internal monologue too

the problem with reading and writing leading to a strong vocabulary is that you tend to know the vibe of words instead of their meanings.

if I used this word in a sentence, would it make sense? absolutely. if you asked me what it meant, could I tell you? absolutely not.
