gimme more bitemark headcanons I BEG
EHEHEHE thank you for asking! Here you are:
I think a core function of Bitemark just at its baseline is that there has to be an element of denial. Of course, they both think that they're better than the other, and they both think they're the one coming out on top, but there also has to be an element of 'you think I like THEM?? Yeah right!' even though they've made out on many occasions.
I know I've discussed this before but them being T4T is key to my reading of their dynamic. But that's also just me projecting.
I think a lot of their fascination with one another comes from them truly being fairly similar people–– though of course they don't recognize that in each other, and if asked they would obviously deny any similarities.
Chamber obviously finds way too much joy in annoying the others, and that extends tenfold to Viper because of a level of comfort. Not that either of them will notice.
The others despise them. They think they're being so coy and secretive but they absolutely are not.
On that note, Cypher is being sooooo nice to not release the blackmail. It's mostly just because he's a little scared of Viper and doesn't feel like dealing with her wrath but he's being sooo forgiving.
In any case, they haven't exactly told anyone of their situation. That's primarily because they haven't admitted it to themselves nor defined their relationship to each other, but also because they think they're being sneaky. They're not.
The others are tired of the bullshit. They're not exactly sure if Viper and Chamber aren't talking about it because they're trying to keep it a secret or because they're genuinely that dense (hint: it's both)
They're just so unbearable. I don't know how else to say this. They flirt nonstop in the most annoying way. They bicker. They threaten each other.
It is, also, for those who aren't easily annoyed, funny as fuck to watch them try to deny it all.
On a more angsty note: for all the lying they do (both to one another and just in general), they're able to be far more honest to one another than anyone else. This doesn't solely extend to secrets, per se, but also just Who They Are. Neither of them are under the impression that the other is anything but a terrible person, and that provides a kind of release because there's far fewer pretenses.
As such, they understand each other far more than they would admit, and to a certain extent far more than they would like to (... sort of.)
There's also a sense of comfort in their relationship because there's an understanding that it's temporary. You can be a lot more open when you know it won't last.
In conclusion:

In which Human-Grim has to take care of our NRC-Boys-As-Animals, and has a time of it.
This was a lot of fun to do, a lot of the characters already had animal motifs, others where very hard to come up with an animal equivalent. Still not particularly happy with some of my choices, but c’est la vie. Also been a hot minute since I've spent this long on a drawing. Twisted Wonderland has me in an absolute vice grip, consumes most of my waking thoughts, clears my skin, waters my crops ... I'm tired and starting to not make sense. I shall end my inane ramblings here.
