When you walked into work this afternoon, Jisung was sitting in your section. You hadn't seen him since last week and you hadn't talked to him since your small argument last night. You had gotten so pissed off that you blocked his number and the numbers of the rest of the kids just in case. You were glad that he didn't camp outside of your apartment all night. You would have actually felt sorry for him.

You walk right past him and head straight into the backroom to get ready for your shift at the restaurant. Why did he have to come to your job? Everyone knows him, not only as Han from Stray Kids, but as your friend. No doubt one of your coworkers saw him walk in and immediately sat him in your section, you didn't have time to warn them that you wanted nothing to do with him.

"Please give me a different section. I'll do anything." You beg your manager when she walks into the back room.

"No," He doesn't even face you as he rejects your request.

"But--"

"If this is about your friend, he's been here since opening and has been ordering nothing but water waiting for you. I want him out too but I can't kick him out, the last thing we need is bad press from kicking out an idol. He promised to make a scene if I did." He explains, handing you the list from the waitress you were taking over for.

You scoff at the idea of Jisung's socially anxious ass being that bold. You roll your eyes and force yourself out on the floor. You first make your rounds to the tables in your sections that were already in the process of being served by your coworker to introduce yourself. You help customers as you make your rounds by grabbing them utensils or anything else they ask for before you have no choice to go to Jisung's table, your manager saw that you were avoiding him and threatened to fire you.

"Hi, welcome to Happy Star, I'm your waitress Y/N, can I start you off with something to drink?" You avoid eye contact, focusing on your notepad instead.

"Y/N--"

"Yes, sir."

"That's hot, but--"

"Would you like another glass of water sir? To cool you off, perhaps?" You offer him a fake smile, still avoiding eye contact.

"I'll have a cola." He hesitates, debating if you would actually pour water on him in a crowded restaurant.

"Perfect, I'll bring that right out. Were you ready to order or did you still need a few minutes?" Your tone is dead. You want to get this over with and have him leave.

"I ordered a cola, is that not enough? I really need to talk to you."

"I'll ask you again when I bring your drink out." You fake smile at him one more time before putting his order in and attending your other tables.

Jisung attempts to flag you down multiple times as you worked around your other tables. The contrast in how you treated your other patrons compared to Jisung was laughable. Any onlooker would be appalled by your hospitality towards him.

The busyness finally dying down again, you finally grab Jisung's drink and bring it to his table. You wish you could slam it down so he could get the message, but you know that'll only cause a mess that you'll have to clean up. Instead, you place the cup as far away from him as possible. You place a straw on the table and pull out your notepad again.

"I know what I want," Jisung states before you could say anything.

"Perfect, sir. What can I get you started with?" You sigh.

"You,"

"Excuse me?"

"I said I want you."

"I am not on the menu. Let me give you a few more minutes to look again." He grabs your to stop you from leaving, forcing you to finally look at him.

"Y/N, I figured my shit out and I want you. I want to be with you." Your breath catches in your throat and your heart starts pounding hard in your chest. Hope, he's giving me hope.

"Ji, I want to have this conversation with you. I really do, but I'm at work right now and my boss is already upset with you. So just order something and leave. We'll talk after my shift."

"Why not during your break?" He whines, wide-eyed like a puppy whose been scolded.

"Something tells me that we might need more than the 45 minutes I'm allowed."

"What time are you off?"

"I get off at 8 today."

"Okay, I can wait 8 hours. I made you wait for almost 2 months." He chuckles, now being able to laugh at the situation.

"So, what do you want to eat?" You ask softly.

"Just get me a lunch combo B, please."

It's easier.

Those words play in your head over and over again as you think about your last conversation with Felix. It was over text message but you could clearly hear his voice saying it to you, with a pained look on his face.

It was not easier. Nothing about this was easier. You liked Felix and her liked you. You both knew it--hell, everyone knew it. You two acted like a couple. You were often found in the same bed, sleeping together. You were the unofficial roommate in the Stray Kids dorm, you even had a key. You celebrated any and every special holiday together. All of your free time is spent together and know each other's innermost thoughts. You've kissed. Your friends would jokingly refer to you as boyfriend and girlfriend, despite the fact that they knew that you weren't actually together. You just didn't understand why you weren't. Nothing would change about your relationship now besides adding a label.

“I can’t stand this anymore.” You say, letting yourself into Felix's room. You knew he was home. His schedule was clear and you knew he would be moping around after your conversation.

“Y/N, hi?” Felix was laying in his bed, on his phone, probably playing a game.

“Felix, we need to talk. Like right now, because I am genuinely losing my fucking mind.” You turn his desk chair to face the bed and sit down. He sits up and faces you.

“Is this about the other day because I really don’t want to get into it right now.” Felix tosses his phone aside and rubs his face. I can tell by the dark circles that he hasn’t been sleeping.

“We can’t just ignore it until if goes away. We like each other—fuck, it might even be love at this point. Why can’t we be together?” You rub you hands on your pant legs. Confrontation really isn’t your thing and Felix knows that.

“We are together! We’re together right now.”

“Don’t be funny right now, I’m serious.”

“Sorry,”

“Are you scared? You said you like the way things are right now. The only thing that would change is our relationship status.” You lean forward, elbows on your thighs.

“Yeah but what happens next?”

“What?”

“What happens if we realize that we don’t want to be in a relationship.”

“Lix, we’re basically already in a relationship, I don’t—“

“What if you want up one day and you realize that you like the idea of me. The idea of us. Like what if our relationship is this sort of codependent nightmare and we developed a version of Stockholm syndrome? We spend so much time together that we might have just Pavloved each other into thinking we’re soulmates.” You can't help but stare at your best friend and blink.

“Is that what you think? That I conditioned you into liking me?” You were dumbfounded, completely confused by what is going on.

“I didn’t say that.”

“But you implied it.”

“This is what I meant by it’s easier to just let us be.”

“You think we actually manipulated our relationship into codependency, how is that easier?”

“Because you’re getting upset!”

"I have every right to be upset, Felix! You just told me that you think we only like each other because it's convenient and you don't want to be in a relationship with me because our feelings might not be real. How the fuck do you think people get into relationships? They like being around someone and want to be around them forever. Do you not want to be with me forever?"

"I do! Trust me, Y/N, I do. It's been killing me the past few days not talking to you and knowing you were upset because of me."

"Then why can't we be together?" You choke. You had been holding back tears, knowing that if Felix saw you cry, he would too.

"What if we do get together and breakup?"

"You're risking our entire relationship, our friendship, on a 'what if?'"

"What? What do you mean ruin our friendship?" Felix sits up straighter and swings his legs over the bed. You sit up and lean back into the chair.

"Do you honestly think that we can just go back to the way we were after today? Knowing what we know? Tell me this, Felix, how are you going to feel is I start dating someone else? Are you going to be able to sit idly by as my best friend? Genuinely, because I know you'll bottle up those emotions until you inevitably explode. Because I know I couldn't. Felix, we either pull the trigger and start dating or we cut all contact because I cannot keep doing this to myself."

"Please don't make me choose." Felix's eyes are full of tears threatening to fall. He's trying not to cry for my sake.

"I guess I have my answer." You wipe your eyes and stand up.

"What?"

"It shouldn't be a hard answer. And the fact that you're hesitating let's me know everything I need to know." You turn towards the door ready to leave.

"Y/N, wait, let's talk about it." He stands up quickly and grabs your wrist.

"Goodbye, Felix." You can't look Felix in the eyes as you shake your hand out of his grip and leave his dorm. If you turned around, you might have actually stayed after seeing Felix's distressed look.

It started off with you avoiding Seungmin for over a week. It's not like he was going out of his way to see you either. A week turned into two which turned into a month and has now spiraled into almost two months. Two months without speaking to you best friend. You were miserable, understandably so. And you know that Seungmin could be stubborn, but so could you.

Which is how you found yourself alone at a bar on a Tuesday night knee deep in your 5th Long Island iced tea. You were beyond drunk, nursing the void that was left by Seungmin with gin, vodka, tequila, rum, triple sec, and a splash of cola. You weren't a heavy drinker normally, but something about the vibes and being heartbroken made you not care.

"What's a pretty girl like you doing all alone over here?" A man comes up next to you in your booth. Out of habit, you sat at the table that you and Seungmin normally sit in when you hang out.

"Reflecting," You hum. You were definitely drunk. Or maybe you were just lonely. Normally, you wouldn't entertain the idea of talking to a stranger. You didn't need to, you had Seungmin.

Seungmin

No longer in control of your limbs, your hand slides your phone out of your bag and automatically dialed Seungmin's number. He's the only number you have memorized other than your own number and your parents. How you managed to type it in perfectly while shit-faced? Who knows. You set your phone on the table and take another sip of your drink.

"Reflecting on what, baby girl?" Another guy, probably the first one's friend, slides into the booth from the other side trapping you in between them. Instinctually, you grab your cup and pull it on your lap, taking one hand to cover the top.

"Oh, I think I know... It's about a guy huh? Who took you for granted? Clearly he doesn't know what he's missing." The guy on your left says, getting dangerously close to your ear.

"Oh he knows, he's just too much of an dumbass to admit it." You chuckle to yourself, taking another sip of your drink through the straw. The hand of the guy on you let finds your thigh and rests there.

"Oh he's for sure a dumbass. If I were him, I wouldn't let a catch like you out of my sight." He squeezes his hand and you jump. Suddenly sobering up, you take one of your hands, still covering your drink, and pull his hand off. You regret wearing shorts and a crop top out now.

"Can you please not touch me? In fact, can you two back up?" They both throw their hands up.

"We're not going to do anything you don't want us to, baby. But if you don't mind, we're going to hang here for a bit. There's nowhere else to sit."

"I do mind, actually."

"If it makes you feel better, well scoot back a bit." both of them move an inch away. Still too close, I can still smell their craft beer and cheap cologne.

It's been 15 minutes and the boys haven't left you alone. You switched to water, a waiter came to your table a few minutes after the boys came to the table asking if you needed anything. Not wanting to cause a scene, you just asked for water.

"Y/N, let's go," Your heartaches at Seungmin's familiar voice calling your name. You instantly looked up and meet Seungmin's worried eyes.

"Who are you?" The guy on your left asked.

"Oh, bro I think I know! It's probably that guy who made our girl upset." The guy on your right pipes up.

"She's not your girl, you fucking creep."

"What am I, Min?" You lean back into the booth and cross your arms.

"Yeah, Min? What is she?" The guy on your left, who has been comfortably handsy with you all night, draps his arm around your shoulder.

"Get your hands off my girlfriend." His jaw clenches and he balls his fist. He's been working out the last couple of months, he could probably actually be the daylights about of both of these men if he wanted.

Girlfriend? The combination of hearing Seungmin call you his girlfriend and the amount of alcohol in your body makes your head swirl. You haven't talked for two months and you're suddenly his girlfriend?

"If she was my girlfriend, I simply wouldn't let her out of the house alone. Especially dressed like this." This time, the guy on your right places his hand on your thigh and grabs your face, forcing a kiss before you could protest.

You push him off of you and slap him. You're mostly sober now. The shock of the past few minutes seeming to force the alcohol out of your system. You climbed over the table, finally tired of being stuck between those two creeps. You grab their drinks and throw them in your faces before storming out of the bar.

"Y/N, wait up!" You hear Seungmin call out after you. You don't turn around.

"Did you see that, Seungmin? I don't need you!" You shout, not caring who would hear you.

"Y/N, can you just give me a minute?"

"Why are you even here?" You don't live far from the bar, which is why it was your normal hang out spot. It was between the JYP building and Seungmin's dorm. He could hangout with you after work and crash at your place. All that's over now.

"You called me--"

"And you heard that I was in danger so you rushed to my rescue? How courageous,"

"Y/N, fuck, hold on," You do stop. Not because he told you to, but because you're in front of your apartment.

"You really shouldn't talk to your girlfriend like that. Since you're suddenly uncomplicating things by putting labels on us." You were angry, rightfully so. He strung you along for months after you two slept together and then abandoned you the second anything real could happen.

"I only called you my girlfriend so they would leave you alone without things getting physical."

"So I'm only your girlfriend when it's convenient? Good to know." You laugh.

"Let's just get you inside and go to bed. We can talk about this tomorrow when you're not drunk." Seungmin tries to close the gap between you two, but you take a step back.

"Right, because nothing I'll say will matter because alcohol is involved. Just like when you fucked me?"

"Y/N, keep your voice down."

"If I remember correctly, it was a night like this. Both of us celebrating your comeback. We only had two drinks max. Not enough to actually be plastered, but enough for our lips to be loose and the truth to spill out. And you kissed me too, except, I didn't push you away. I wanted to kiss you. And you wanted to kiss me too. And then we came back here-- and well, you know what happened, you were there. And I know you remember because you always changed the subject when I tried to talk about it."

"Please, let's just talk about it inside--"

"Why? Because you don't want people to know that Kim Seungmin from Stray Kids is outside right now talking to his friend with benefits?" He quickly closes the gap and grabs your wrist so you can't walk away.

"Please?" You shake your hand a couple of times to wiggle out of his grip.

“Last chance, Seungmin. I'm going to give you one last chance, because God knows I gave you several of them. I'm going to go into my apartment building and if I make it inside, and you don't tell me what we are--what you want, then we're done--”

"You know I don't want to label anything, that isn't fair." He brushes your hair out of your face.

"Fair? You want to talk about fair? What's not fair is waiting for months for the man you love to make a first. Because I know how you are and I didn't want to push you. You made me believe that there is something there. That we could be something. And that went on for months. And then when I finally try to take matters into my own hands, you freak and ignore me for two fucking months. That's not fair."

"Why does having a even label matter?"

"Because a label means that I'm not some place holder. That you're not going to drop me the second you find someone you actually want to be with. That you truly want to be with me and only me. A label gives me stability. It gives me hope that you really love me as much as I love you."

"I really don't want to talk about this right now."

"Too bad, because I want to-- No, I need to. If I make it inside that building, we are done. Do you understand me, Kim Seungmin? Done. We will be nothing. Not a couple, or best friends, or even acquaintances. Nothing." You bite the inside of your cheek to keep from crying. The last thing you would want is for Seungmin to confess his feelings to you because you were crying and he felt bad. You wanted him to want you, genuinely want you.

You looked into his distressed eyes before slowly walking to the doors of your apartment building. You could feel the panic radiating off of him as you walked further away from him. He wouldn't just let you walk out of his life like that. Just throw away years of friendship like it was nothing. He couldn't.

After what feels like years, you finally reach the front door and pause with your hand on the doorknob, waiting--hoping that he'll say something, anything.

You take a deep breath and finally pull the door open, before freezing again, holding out for hope. You slowly walk in until you're fully inside the building. You turn around and watch the door close slowly as Seungmin's horrified face is eventually gone from your sight before you break down and let out the tears you've been holding in for months.

"Figure your shit out?" You ask as you open the door to find your best friend standing on the other side of it.

You were still pissed at the whole situation. It's been 2 weeks since Jeongin kissed you and then acted like it didn't happen and it's been 1 week since you confronted him about it. You told him to text you when he figured his shit out, and honestly? You were surprised to find standing outside your apartment at 3 am on a Tuesday.

"Can I come in?" He questions. You can't remember the last time Jeongin had to ask to come in. He had his own key to your place and he let himself in most of the time, only occasionally needing you to open the door for him and even then he would just walk in.

"Did. You. Figure. Your. Shit. Out." You refuse to move, annoyed that he woke you up and annoyed at everything in general.

"Y/N, please, it's cold." You quickly glance at his body. He's wearing pjs and some random pair of sandals you bought him as a joke.

"You're a man and I have no idea what intentions you have with me at 3 in the fucking morning, so no." You snap. You know that it must be serious if he came to talk to you right now, but you want him to suffer a bit like you have for the past couple of weeks.

Innie digs his hands out of his pockets and cups your face before slowly pressing his lips into yours. Shocked, you push him off and stare at him in bewilderment.

"Does that answer your question?" He asks innocently.

"No the fuck it doesn't! Especially after last time." Despite the cool night air, you were suddenly hot. You're not sure if it's from anger or the surprise kiss.

"Damn it, I knew I shouldn't have listen to Changbin hyung." He mutters under his breath.

"What does Changbin have to do with this?" Your heart is pounding in your ears, not so loud that you couldn't hear him.

"I...we...look, let's just talk inside. Please?" He pleads. You bite your tongue and move to the side, finally letting Innie into your apartment. Your hand touches your bottom lip as you watch him walk straight to the couch.

He sits on the edge of the spot on the couch that he has long claimed as his own. You join him, sitting in the spot furthest away from him. A flash of hurt shines in his eyes before he blinks it away.

"Talk," You spit, crossing your arms.

"Give me a second," He pleads quietly.

"I gave you two weeks." You quickly fire back. He sighs and runs his hands through his already messy hair.

"I lied," He blurts out.

"You lied?" You ask, confused where this could be going.

"Last week, when I said I'd like us to still be best friends. That was a lie."

"So you don't want to be friends anymore?"

"No,"

"No?"

"Can you please just stop parroting me, this is already hard enough."

"In, I am tired, I have work in the morning, and you woke me up. Just spit it out." You lean back in your chair and watch as Jeongin fidgets in his seat.

"When I kissed you the first time, I knew what I wanted, that's why I kissed you. But then I panicked and needed to think about it. And when you confronted me last week, I panicked again. I'm not sure why. Chan hyung thinks I'm scared of being in a relationship with you and messing it up. And I think he's right."

"I'm scared of that too, you know. Which is why I haven't said anything."

"Minho hyung and Felix hyung said that too. And then I decided that I was going to fix this because the idea of not having you in my life because of my stupidity was unbearable. I just wasn't sure how."

"So you come to my home in the middle of the night and kiss me?" You sit forward watching as Jeongin blushes.

"Hyunjin hyung said I should do some sort of grand gesture. Hannie hyung said I should write you a song. Seungmin hyung said I should just tell you everything and Changbin hyung said I should just kiss you." He explains, face getting redder by the second.

"You know, Seungmin's suggestion, at a decent hour, would have been fine." You laugh. It's cute that he went to his brothers to get advice about all of this.

"I get that now. Honestly, I haven't been getting much sleep since we last talked and I couldn't take it anymore. I came here with the intention with following Seungmin, but I think the lack of sleep is catching up with me." He sighs. You stand up from your position and walk in front of the red faced man, sticking your hand out.

"C'mon boyfie, let's get you some sleep." You smile.

"Boyfie?" He questions, taking your hand.

"Nope, too late, you confessed and I accept. You can't take it back, you're my boyfriend now. Now, let's go to bed." You kiss his cheek and drag him to your room.

Note :: this is either going to be a two parter or a three parter, im leaning toward a three parter but just to let everyone know, updating might be a struggle this week because i have classes for this one week from 8am-2pm EST and tuesday, my family is dragging me along to watch the barbie movie with them, AND friday is my last class but i work that day AND the next day, saturday. I’m also going to be so drained because we have a test at the end of every class day. sooo yippee but i shall try my best :) !!

out of all of you, it’s hard to tell who’s most excited.

except for kaia. she’s still kind of embarrassed about the thing with jay. it shows.

“aaaaah! i can’t believe i get to film with jake!” eun giggles, as kaia walks into the room with a stack of scripts for you guys.

you weren’t told a lot about the specifics, but you all know the plot of the m/v. still, you cant help but wonder what exactly you and riki – eun screamed when you first used his actual name, for some unbeknownst reason – were meant to be doing in the video.

although you were in the same room, you all flicked through them separately. eun was still loud as always, though, screeching from across the room whenever she got to a scene she thought was cute. kaia was more reserved, studying it silently. ria seemed to be a mix between the two, furrowing her eyebrows or grinning, accompanied with the occasional giggle or gasp.

you, on the other hand…

oh. that was certainly… interesting.
