A/N 2 ▸ This story is like a lot of crossover with Jeongwoo’s story but I hope I was able to bring justice to Haruto’s character and bring his story to life. :P ok now enjoy for real realz.
You were the prettiest girl Haruto had ever known in his life. But to him, you were also his rival. You always managed to score just a few points higher than him on each exam, each quiz, each assignment. To him it always felt like the teachers liked you more, so he made sure your classmates liked him more. The thing that made him really mad was that you were so unbothered. You were ambivalent to him and you didn’t even know his name. If you really were strangers and never sat in the same class he could understand. But you had been in the same classes for years. Each time you spoke to him, you politely asked for his name. As if you were strangers.
When his parents told him that his family was going to move to another city, far enough that he would have to transfer schools, he had mixed feelings. This was his last chance to confront you. To understand why you’d never bothered to remember his name, but each time he approached you he found you furiously scribbling in a notebook. Although he resented you for not knowing his name, he could never get himself to disturb you when you looked so stressed scribbling whatever it was in your notebook.
What Haruto didn’t know is that you did notice him. You noticed the handsome, tall, skinny boy that was always in the corner of your line of sight. But you had no idea what to say to him. So you never approached him. He was a stranger.
Haruto wished he could forget you. He was a bit uncomfortable transferring to a new school at first but thankfully, three other boys had transferred with him. Asahi, Mashiho, and Yoshi had become literal brothers to him. The school also had a transfer students program and he made a new friend, Hanbyul. She was a chatterbox and sometimes she could literally chat his ear off, but she was also sweet and helpful. But she wasn’t you.
But that didn’t matter because Hanbyul had another guy on her mind all the time anyway. “You know we’ve just been friends for such a long time and lately, I’ve started to...I don’t know. I feel different. Nervous. Is it normal to feel nervous around your best friend?”
“I don’t know. Is it?” Haruto responded.
“No, I suppose it isn’t. But he probably doesn’t feel the same way. I doubt he’s ever even thought about me in that way.”
Haruto felt someone nudge him, he turned to see that it was Asahi. Haruto leaned over to hear what he was going to say. “Is she talking about Jaehyuk’s brother?”
Haruto nodded.
“Jaehyuk talks about his little brother and this chick all the time. She’s so off the mark. The little brother definitely has feelings for her if Jaehyuk is anywhere near the mark.” So both parties had feelings for one another but both parties were too chicken to say anything to each other. And for no good reason.
In a way that reminded Haruto of himself and it pissed him off. He knew that spending so much time with his new friend would raise suspicions but he didn’t care. He knew that spending so much time with her pissed Jeongwoo off. It didn’t take a genius to recognize it when they went to the Big Bang Concert together.
Haruto thought he was going crazy when he spotted you a few spaces over at the concert. He rubbed his eyes and blinked a few times to make sure it was really you. Haruto stormed over to you once he decided that it was in fact you. He had spent months thinking about what to say to you if he ever saw you again, he wasn’t going to miss this opportunity. Haruto didn’t even think to tell his new friends where he had gone.
You saw a tall, handsome figure approaching your direction. You took a second to check him out, but then turned back to the performers and continued to enjoy yourself. Your parents were reluctant to let you go out to this concert on your own but it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you wanted so badly. You smiled sadly at what might happen when you woke up tomorrow.
“I didn’t know you were a fan of Big Bang.” You heard a voice from behind speak into your ear. You jumped in surprise and turned around to see that it was the handsome stranger you saw sauntering your way earlier.
“Hi, what’s your name?” You asked with a polite smile on your face. This is probably exactly what your parents were worried about, creepy men that would try to approach you. You started to think about the best way to remove yourself from the situation safely. The now unamused expression on his face alarmed you.
“When are you gonna cut the shit. You know who I am.”
You looked at him puzzled. “I do? How? From where?”
Haruto felt something in his chest crack. “I used to go to school with you. You’re Y/N right?”
“Oh, yeah. That’s me.” You furiously racked your mind trying to remember what you had read but your memory came up blank. You couldn’t help but cringe and turn away. This is why you tried your best to keep to yourself and away from people. You looked up to see Haruto staring down at you with a curious expression. “I’m sorry I don’t remember you. You said you used to go to school with me? You don’t go to school with me anymore? Can I get your name again? I’m really sorry. I’ll try and remember.”
“My name is Haruto. I don’t go to school with you anymore. I transferred to a new school a few months ago.”
“Oh, I see.”
Haruto wasn’t sure how to feel when he realized you actually had zero recollection of him. For some reason seeing you up close and seeing you really trying to remember him made him feel a bit sympathetic. He couldn’t understand why. It still totally irked him that you didn’t know his name. But something told him to sit down with you and get to know you.
“Well, do you like your new school?” You asked, looking up at Haruto. Your heart was beating hard and fast. You prayed that your face wasn’t flushing.
“Why don’t we just enjoy the rest of the concert for now and we can grab a late night meal after the concert?” Haruto proposed. His own palms were sweaty and his heart was beating fast.
You thought about it for a second, then nodded and smiled. Haruto felt like the world had a glittery filter for a second. He’d always acknowledged that you were attractive, but up close smiling at him, you were drop dead gorgeous.
“Awesome.”
After the concert, the two of you walked side by side as you left the crowded venue. You noticed Haruto took a second to text someone on his phone. He caught you snooping and laughed as you turned away. “It’s fine. I was just letting the friends I came with know that I was gonna head out with you.”
“Oh, if you need to get back with them it’s fine.” You said, maybe hanging out with Haruto was a bad idea after all.
“Not a chance, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you. I’m honestly curious to know how you are and how things are back home.”
Your face flushed at his words. You couldn’t remember the last time you had spent time with a guy like this. Was this a date?
“Alright. Then what are you in the mood for?” You asked, pulling up a list of restaurants that were still open at this hour.
“What’s available now? What are you in the mood for right now?” Haruto looked over your shoulder at the menu as he asked.
“Um, what about McDonald’s? I’m not that picky and there’s not that much open right now.” you said.
Haruto stared at you with wide eyes, were you always this cool? So the two of you made your way to the closest McDonald’s and debated which was better, Coke or Sprite. To Haruto, Coca-Cola was non-negotiable.
“How is your new school?” You asked Haruto, munching on a few of your fries. “Do you like it?”
“What are you doing here?” Haruto interjected.
“What do you mean?”
“We’re not in Japan. This is far from home. Why are you in America?”
“Oh, I’m uh- I’m visiting family. I’ve actually transferred to a school around here for the time-being as well.” You jumped in surprise when Haruto shrieked.
“You’re here now? Like for good? Like you go to school here? Where?”
You giggled at the questions he rained down on you. The way he asked you with his cheeks full and eyes wide was rather endearing. “Yes I’m here now. I’m actually, uh, home schooled for the time being.”
“Oh, interesting. Why are you homeschooled? I remember you were always really good at school.” Haruto said before he shoved another chicken nugget into his mouth. The irritating thought that you were always better than him at school, just by a little popped up in his mind but he pushed it away. That didn’t matter anymore. He had your attention now.
You felt your face flush. Even with your condition it was true that you maintained your good grades. So Haruto must have actually known you back in Japan. You eyed him again, when he caught you staring at him you turned away. Haruto smirked.
“Enough about me. Tell me about your friends. You said you came with friends from your new school right?”
“Well I’d say one of them is actually who I’d consider a friend. The other one is a mutual friend. A childhood friend that has feelings for her.”
“Her?” it slipped out of your mouth. Haruto’s smirk reappeared and his eyebrow jumped up when he looked at you. You looked away, what was this funny feeling in your chest? It was weird.
“Our school had this transfer student program and she just happened to be assigned to me. She’s really cool, I’m not into her like that and she’s not really into me like that. She likes her friend.”
“How do you know?”
“She told me.”
“Oh. That feels like something important. Like a secret.”
“Well, I told her a secret as well.”
You stared at him. He didn’t indulge in the secret. Haruto was wholly focused on sipping the last of his Coca-Cola before putting it down on the table and letting out a sigh.
“Well so what’s going on with them now?” You asked.
“Hopefully, they both pull their heads out of their asses tonight. I gave them time alone so the best case scenario is that they just talk it out. The dude, Jeongwoo, I actually met him for the first time tonight and he’s a cool dude. It would be nice to have more dude friends around here.”
“You don’t have any guy friends?”
“I do. There are 3 other transfer students from Japan and they’re all dudes and I’m friends with them. Actually, Americans like to play this sport. Lacrosse? My friend told me to try out for the team and I think I might. Mashi, Asahi, and Yoshi agreed to try-out as well so it’ll be fun.”
You nodded, you had no idea what lacrosse was and you didn’t think you would be that interested to learn either. “I should get home.”
“Right of course.” Haruto said, getting up. “Where are you headed? Let me call you an Uber.”
“No, it’s okay. I can actually walk back home from here.”
“Oh really? Well, at least let me walk you back.”
You hesitated for a second. Would it be smart to show this guy where you lived? But then you shook it off, he seemed pretty harmless throughout the night and you trusted that he knew you from school in Japan. So you agreed.
“Do you have to be home-schooled?” Haruto asked.
“No, I don’t think so.” you answered.
“Would you be interested in attending school in person again?” Haruto could feel the devil on his shoulder kicking him. What was he doing? He had already gone to school with you before and the fact that you always did just a smidge better than him drove him nuts.
“Um, I haven’t really thought about it. Why?”
“You should consider transferring to my school?”
Your eyebrows shot up. “What?”
Haruto stepped back a bit and raised his hands. “It was just a suggestion. Honestly, I struggled a bit when I first came here. I can’t imagine how lonely it must be to be here and just be home-schooled so I figured it might be nice to have some sense of community.”
“Um, I’ll think about it.” You weren’t going to think about it. You looked up and breathed a sigh of relief when you saw the familiar apartment complex. “This is me. You don’t have to walk in with me. I’m gonna go now.”
“Wait.” Haruto said. You turned around to look at him, a thin smile on your face. “I, uh, I had fun.”
“Yeah, this was nice.” You said truthfully.
“We should do it again sometime.” Haruto said. You stared at him, he looked perfectly composed to you. But his heart was practically beating so hard he thought it might fall out of his chest.
“Honestly, I’m not so sure that’s a good idea.”
Haruto felt a heat and anger flare up in his chest. But he did his best to tamp it down and get it under control. This was literally the first time you had acknowledged his presence. He put a smile on his face. “Well, then maybe we’ll just run into each other again sometime.”
“Maybe, it’s all up to fate now. Good night Haruto.”
“Good night Y/N.”
The second you made it back into your room you pulled out your diary. You scribbled the notes you had logged into your phone throughout the day as quickly as possible. Briefly reliving each moment as you wrote them down. By the time you had gotten to the end of the list and began to recount the concert you could feel your eyelids getting heavier and heavier and your hands writing more and more frantically until suddenly, you crashed.
The next morning you woke up and read your notes. You squinted at the last thing you had written. Your handwriting became illegible near the end. ‘Haruto?’
The next morning Haruto woke up and smiled at the memory of you. Asahi and Mashiho eyed their roommate as he pranced around the living room and kitchen smiling and singing. But nothing could bring Haruto down. Well until he saw his friend looking depressed as hell.
“Dude what’s up?” Haruto asked. “Did you and Jeongwoo figure your shit out?”
“Uh, about that. Well, no.”
“No? What do you mean no?”
“Well what about you? Did you run into her?”
“Nuh uh, this isn’t about me. You literally had the perfect opportunity to make something of it. To make a moment! Did you guys have a moment?”
“Yes, I think we did. But I got scared. I don’t want to lose Jeongwoo as a friend, but at the same time I don’t think he has any feelings for me like that. I just, I think I need space. Maybe if I just distance myself from him a bit then I can get over my feelings and…”
“No offense, but that’s the stupidest thing I think I’ve ever heard in my life.”
“Well I don’t care if you think it’s stupid. This is my decision and my decision is that I don’t want to see Jeongwoo for awhile. Ok? I’m not ready for the conversation. So you better get used to seeing me more often!”
Haruto sighed as he watched his friend storm out of the room. He turned around and exchanged looks with Asahi. “Did I say something wrong?”
Asahi shrugged. “Honestly, I think you’re valid. I think her logic in avoiding Jeongwoo is pretty dumb. The dude’s in my gym class. Honestly, he’s chill. I don’t think he’d react badly to her if she confesses regardless of how he feels.”
“I should probably find her and apologize anyway.” Haruto said, exiting the room. Eventually he found his friend and they sat together in the cafeteria.
“Sorry about what I said earlier. I’ll admit it was kind of harsh. But honestly I can’t say I understand your logic at all.”
“It’s fine Haruto. You seemed extra happy when you walked in this morning. Who was the friend that you saw at the concert?”
“It was her. Y/N.”
“No way! Isn’t she in Japan?”
“That’s what I thought too. I was so shocked to see her.”
“What did you say to her? What did you guys talk about? Did she recognize you?”
“That’s the thing. The best part of it all was that I actually had her attention. You remember I told you about how she never acknowledged anybody right? She was always reading her notebook in the hallway. In the past when I spoke to her she never even knew my name! She had to ask me every single time. But this time, there’s no way she wouldn’t remember me!”
“Your relationship is weird. But I guess that’s sweet. What does she write about in her notebook?”
“I don’t know. Why does it matter? She knows my name now!”
“That’s another thing. You went to school together for years and she never remembered your name? Why?”
“I don’t know.” Haruto said. Now he was grouchy. All the questions that had been brought up to him were valid, but these weren’t things he wanted to think about.
A few weeks before the lacrosse tryouts in the spring Haruto went to the hospital to get a physical done.
Once he was done he stumbled into a small cafe right next to the hospital. When he saw who was manning the cash register he rubbed his eyes and looked away and looked back a few times to make sure he wasn’t being deluded. When he was confident that he wasn’t going crazy he stood up and walked over to the register.
You saw a tall, handsome, and skinny guy walk up to the cash register. You cleared your throat and stood up straight. “Hello, what can I get you?”
“Y/N! It’s fate. We ran into each other again!”
“Again?” You put a smile on your face and thought of a response. “Hey, it’s so good to see you! How have you been? What’ll you have?”
“Do you...remember my name?”
You felt your heart picking up speed and your palms beginning to sweat. But you kept your composure. “Of course, let me take your order and we can chat for a second.”
Haruto beamed. “Okay, then I’ll just have an Iced Americano.”
“Okay, that’ll be $3.30. The ice machine is in the back so I’ll be right out in a second. You rushed to the back of the cafe and pulled out your diary and flipped through the pages, reading the entries as quickly as possible. Out of the corner of your eye you noticed a torn piece of paper that had slipped out of your bag. You picked it up, it matched the paper in your diary. You flipped it over to see that it had a name written on it. Haruto.
Was that this guy’s name? Who was he to you? Darn it, why hadn’t you written more?
You quickly filled the cup with ice and walked out filling the cup with cold brew. You grabbed the marker and scribbled Haruto on it. You walked back over to the cash register. This guy’s eyes were practically glittering in anticipation. Was it normal for someone to get this excited over a coffee?
“I’ve got one iced americano for Haruto?” you said.
If his eyes were glittering before, they were practically flashing light strobe lights at a nightclub now. A matching beaming grin on his face. “Yes! Y/N it’s fate. We ran into each other again!”
“Right. Yeah, of course. What are the odds.”
“Do you have a minute?”
“Um, I’m working right now. I’d rather not get in trouble. Maybe another time?”
Haruto swiveled around, eying the cafe. “It looks pretty empty to me. I don’t think you’d get in trouble if you came out for a second just to keep me company.”
“Still…”
“Is your manager even here right now?”
“No.”
“Then come on. Just come out for a second.”
You looked around the cafe, cursing at how vacant it was. You tugged at your sleeves for a second before answering. “Fine.”
You followed Haruto out from behind the counter. He walked over to a table and pulled a seat out from underneath the table. He smiled as he waited for you to sit down. You walked over to the table and turned around. Haruto slid the chair underneath you as you moved to sit down. Once you were seated Haruto ran around to the other side of the table and sat down.
“How are you? How have you been?” Haruto asked.
You stared at the boy sitting in front of you. He was so handsome. “I’m doing well. How about you?”
“I’m good. I was in the area because I needed to go to the hospital.”
Your ears perked up. “Why were you at the hospital?”
“Why do you wanna know? Are you worried about me?”
You didn’t say anything. You just stared at Haruto. Haruto cleared his throat and looked away for a second. “I’m just playing with you. I went to get a physical.”
You nodded, tracing the patterns on the tablecloth.
“I needed one for lacrosse tryouts.”
“Lacrosse? What is that?” you asked. Haruto thought the way your nose scrunched in confusion was adorable.
“I told you about it last time! Remember? It’s this sport that Americans like to play. I had never heard of it in Japan either.”
You didn’t remember. “Right.”
Haruto couldn’t understand the dynamics of the conversation. He watched as you avoided eye contact with him and intensely focused on tracing the pattern of the table cloth. Then you would stare out the window of the cafe, it almost appeared as if your eyes were glazed over. “What are you always writing about in your notebook?”
Your head spun over to look at him so fast, you thought you might have gotten whiplash. “What?”
“Your notebook. I remember in school back in Japan I always saw you either writing things down in a notebook or reading the same notebook. What’s in it?”
“Um, nothing. Don’t worry about it.”
“Why? It can’t be that bad. I promise I won’t laugh no matter how embarrassing it might be.” Haruto said. Leaning forward over the table so that he was in your face.
“Forget it.” You said, leaning back and looking away. You glanced over at your bag that was perched far back behind the counter and breathed a sigh of relief. “Look. I gotta go. I’m supposed to be working right now. I think you should go now as well.”
You stood up from the table so quickly that the chair you were sitting on toppled over. You didn’t bother to turn around and pick it up. You walked back towards the counter without looking back.
Haruto watched you as you walked away. He narrowed his eyes when he saw you grab your bag and walk to the back of the cafe. There was only one thing on his mind as he walked out of the cafe. Your notebook. What was in the notebook?
You frantically flipped to today’s page in your notebook. In all caps with your boldest, darkest black marker you wrote at the top of your notebook. ‘Beware of Haruto. Tall, Handsome. Asked about notebook.’
Then you shut the notebook and exited the back room, breathing a sigh of relief when you noticed that the cafe was vacant once again. You walked over to the cafe table where you had previously sat and picked up the chair that had fallen over when you had left the conversation.
The next day at school Haruto was deep in thought. What could possibly be so important about a notebook? When Hanbyul shoved him, Haruto shrieked as he fell out of his chair. “Dude, what the hell is your problem?”
“What are you thinking about? You look like you’re thinking so hard that your brain might break.”
“Do you have an important notebook? Is that like something girls do?”
“You mean like a diary?”
Haruto snapped his fingers and looked up. “Yes! Exactly like one of those. Do you have one of those?”
“I did when I was younger. I don’t keep one anymore though. Why do you ask?”
“My friend. The one from home, Y/N? I think she has one. I asked her about it yesterday and she got all dodgy and weird.”
“Ah, well. Back when I did keep a diary it held all my dirtiest secrets. I don’t think I would want to share it with anybody or for anybody to know about it. Not even now, and as an elementary schooler I really don’t think I had any secrets worth keeping.”
“It was so weird. She got so defensive over it. I didn’t realize bringing it up would be such a touchy subject.”
Hanbyul shrugged. “Different things matter to different people. Are you ready for tryouts? They’re coming up soon aren’t they?”
Haruto nodded. “Asahi, Mashiho, Yoshi, and I have started going to that gym that you recommended. Lacrosse is actually pretty fun. Mashiho is the best though. Are you coming to tryouts?”
“Of course I am. I’m practically making you go so it’s only fair that I be there to see how you do. I reserve the right to totally make fun of you if you embarrass yourself though.”
Haruto rolled his eyes. “Yeah, whatever.”
Soon enough it was the first day of lacrosse tryouts. Haruto had frequented the cafe that you worked at in hopes of getting the chance to speak to you again. Unfortunately, what he didn’t know was that you had quit the job and diligently stayed home and studied.
Haruto was agitated at the thought of not being able to speak to you again. When he tried to sit down and rationalize it himself he couldn’t make sense of it. A year ago he despised you for not knowing his name. You know his name now, right? What more did he want from you?
“Haruto? Haruto! Hello? Are you even listening to me?”
Haruto turned to look at Hanbyul. “Honestly no, sorry. What’s up?”
“I feel bad for how I treated Jeongwoo. You were right, avoiding him was not the right thing to do. But why hasn’t he said anything to me?”
“Look I can’t tell you what’s going on between the two of you any better than you can. My assumption is that he’s a bit hurt and confused at the moment by how you’re acting and he doesn’t want to make things any worse than they are.”
“Can’t you say something to him?”
“Me?” Haruto looked up from his stick that he was re-taping. “What do you want me to say to him?”
“I don’t know. Just...just get him to react.”
Haruto scoffed. “If you want me to do that I can but again I feel like it’s not going to produce the results that you want. Like I think if I say anything things are gonna go really sour so I think you should think long and hard about this.”
“Haruto!”
“Look, I gotta go. Tryouts are starting.” Haruto said, turning away and walking onto the field. He didn’t miss the hard stare coming his way from Jeongwoo. Haruto ignored them and focused on his gameplay. Lacrosse had actually become really cathartic for him and he found that he really wanted to make the team.
Haruto noticed that the coaches seemed to be reacting favorably to how he was playing. He also realized that Jeongwoo was also really good but he played really aggressively, like he had something to lose. At the end of practice Haruto figured his hunches must have been correct because the coaches called him over to speak with him.
“I’m sure you know Varsity tryouts were this morning, all of your friends from Japan did great as did you and so we’re thinking about pulling you up to varsity. So tomorrow I want you to come early and try out with the varsity team, alright?”
Haruto beamed and nodded.
“Good work son.” The coach slapped Haruto on the shoulder. He did his best not to fall over. Thankfully the coach didn’t notice.
Haruto walked off the field and headed towards the school parking lot. Just as he pulled his phone out to call someone for a ride home his phone pinged, he tapped on the notification to see that it was a message from Mashiho.
Mashiho: Haruto have JV tryouts ended?
Haruto: Yes, I just finished
Mashiho: Cool. Have you found a ride home yet?
Haruto: No, do you know anyone who can come get me?
Mashiho: Ya, a lot of the guys on varsity can drive. Junkyu is over now but he offered to come pick you up.
Haruto: Junkyu?
Mashiho: He’s trying out for the varsity team. He’s cool. Kinda goofy but cool. I’ll come by with him.
Haruto: Alright, thanks dude.
Mashiho: Np.
Haruto checked the time on his phone before putting it back into his pocket. 6 P.M. Would you be at the cafe? The last few times he had gone by he hadn’t seen you. He put the thought away when a car appeared in front of him. The window rolled down and Mashiho cheered when he saw Haruto. “Get in the car! You smell!”
“Shut up and unlock the door Mashi.” The car door clicked open and Haruto hopped into the backseat. There was a large dude sitting in the driver’s seat who kept fidgeting with a bunch of random controls.
The guy turned around with a giant grin on his face. “Hello! I’m Junkyu. You must be Haruto! Nice to meet you!”
Haruto bowed. “Hello. Yes, I am Haruto. Nice to meet you as well.”
“Ruto! How were tryouts?”
“They were really good. Coach pulled me over at the end of tryouts and told me to come early tomorrow morning and try out with the varsity team.”
“Damn! You must be so good!” Junkyu said from the driver’s seat. Haruto tried not to be concerned by the way Junkyu was driving. His head kept swiveling from left to right. “Did you guys play sports back in Japan? All of you were insane at tryouts today!”
“We all played football. I think Mashi and Yoshi played basketball as well.”
“Football? Do you mean football football or soccer football?”
“Eh?”
“Do you kick a ball or do you carry a ball?”
“You kick it. Duh. Why would you carry a ball? That’s just dumb.”
“Americans call a totally different sport football. Don’t worry about it too much. But it’s awesome that you guys are so good.”
“Well to be fair, we were told about that Lacrosse Club and we had a few training sessions every week leading up to try outs.” Mashiho said.
“Ahh! How’d you hear about that? A few of us have been playing on their club teams for a while.”
“My friend told me about it. She’s the person responsible for me in the foreign exchange students program. Hanbyul?”
“Oh! I know who you’re talking about. Her brother was a legend at this school. He was a top recruit since his sophomore year here. But right before the most important game of his senior year he tested positive on a drug test and he couldn’t play. It totally turned him, his team, and the school around. He got dropped by the college that was recruiting him. But I heard he struck a deal with a pro-team and I guess he’s been training with them. The dude was in a league of his own.”
“Damn. That’s insane.”
“Yeah, our school takes lacrosse pretty seriously. The best players at our school get recruited to some of the best schools so it’s a great opportunity.”
Haruto knew there were probably more important things to be thinking about in this conversation but he couldn’t help but wonder if he could get you to come to one of his games.
The second day of tryouts Haruto was absolutely on fire. His shorts were shart, his passes were quick, and his steps were light. The varsity team was definitely of a different caliber but Haruto found the challenge fun. It was nice to be able to play with the rest of the Japanese boys as well.
At the end of varsity tryouts the coach pulled him over, “you were great out there today. How are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling alright coach.”
“Up for a few more hours?”
Haruto paused, but then nodded. He wasn’t in a place to argue with his coaches. “Sure.”
“Great. Then I want you to continue through JV tryouts. Grab some water and then head back out onto the field.”
“Alright coach.”
Haruto jogged out to the edge of the field. He was surprised to see Hanbyul sitting at the edge of the bleachers. “What’s up?”
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“What do you mean what am I doing here? I came to watch your second day of tryouts.”
“Are you sure you’re here to watch me?”
“Shut up. Why are you all sweaty already?”
“Coach had me try out with the varsity team today.”
Hanbyul’s eyes widened. “Dang, you must be awesome. The last two boys that made it onto the varsity team as sophomores were my brother and his best friend Bobby.”
Haruto shrugged. “The game is fun. It would be awesome to play on varsity.”
The coach blew his whistle, signalling all the players to come back out onto the field. Haruto turned around and gathered around. Every so often throughout the day Haruto ran back to the bleachers where Hanbyul sat. His bag was stowed away there as was his secret stash of Coca-Cola. It probably wasn’t smart to be drinking Coke in the middle of tryouts but every so often he needed a pick-me-up.
“You need to quash that habit.”
“Yeah yeah.”
At the end of the day the coach told Haruto to wait for him inside his office. So Haruto did just that.
“So what’d you think about tryouts today?” Coach asked.
“It was intense.”
“Yeah, what did you think of the way the varsity team played?”
“They were quicker, sharper, and more nimble.”
“Good observation. Do you think you were good enough to play on their level?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, then answer me another question. If you had to pick another player from the JV tryouts today to pull up to Varsity who would you pick?”
Haruto thought about it for a second. The answer was obvious. The only other person who seemed to put up a fight with him was “Jeongwoo.”
“Good guess.” The coach laughed. “I don’t know what they feed you kids in Japan. But all four of you are good.”
There was a knock on the door. Haruto turned around to see Jeongwoo. He smirked when he saw the sour expression on Jeongwoo’s face. But it was gone once he had walked into the room and stood adjacent to Haruto.
“The two of you have demonstrated amazing capabilities and I am considering pulling one of you up to the varsity team. Take this opportunity seriously. Tomorrow is the last day of tryouts.”
The last place Haruto expected to run into you was at the hospital. The last thing you were expecting at the hospital was for a dude to come up behind you and scare you. It was horrible, you can’t remember the last time you screamed so loudly, let alone at a public place.
“What are you doing here Y/N?”
“Uh, I’m-” you hesitated, trying to craft an answer that was vague enough that you wouldn’t have to tell the whole truth but not vague enough that he wouldn’t continue to ask questions. But thankfully Haruto seemed to take it upon himself to fill the silence.
“Look, I just wanted to say I’m sorry that I totally misjudged you when I first met you? In fact, I thought I hated you.”
Alarm bells went off in your head. Was it normal for a person to come to you and tell you they hated you? “Uh, thanks?”
But Haruto continued. “But I wanted to say I totally read you wrong. You’re actually really cool. And I wanted to say thank you. For remembering my name.”
That was the first time someone had ever said that to you. You stared at him blankly unsure of how to respond.
“Haruto! Haruto! Haruto! Please report to waiting room 105, the doctor is ready for you now.” The voice over the loudspeaker belted.
“Well, that’s me.” Haruto said with a soft smile on his face. He got up and waved goodbye to you before heading to the back of the office.
Once he was safely out of sight you pulled out your notebook. Your face paled once you flipped through it a few times. You thought about what to do. What did this guy want? You wrote out all these questions in your notebook. Then you came to a conclusion of what to do and wrote that down in your notebook as well.
You ripped out a piece of paper from your notebook and scribbled your number on it. Then got up to the receptionist desk. “Hi, I don’t know if you’re allowed to do this. But when that guy Haruto comes out. Would you mind giving him this?”
You handed the sheet of paper over to her, the receptionist gave you a look and then a wink before accepting the sheet of paper. You figured that meant she accepted, so you waved goodbye and left the hospital.
“Excuse me sir!” The receptionist lady called out to Haruto as he was about to head out of the doctor’s office. What felt and looked like a nasty possible sprain on the lacrosse field just turned out to be a measly bruise.
Haruto approached the reception desk. “There was a young lady earlier. She asked me to give this to you before you leave.”
Haruto looked at the slip of paper. His eyes widened into the size of large gumballs when he realized what was on it. He felt like his heart would explode. But then his mind pumped the brakes, he wasn’t ungrateful, but why did you give him your number?
On the way back home you second guessed your decision at least 30 times. Why did you give him your number? The only reason you could think of was that you didn’t want to not know the guy. Contrary to what your mind and your diary told you. Your heart didn’t want to give him up. Maybe it was selfish and confusing, who knew? But who cared?
Haruto’s excitement was cut short when he finished punching your number into his contacts. Before he could even send a message to you, his phone rang. Hanbyul.
“Hey Hanbyul, what’s up?”
Haruto became alarmed when he heard a sniff and a muffled sob. “Haruto, I miss him.”
Haruto sighed. “He’ll come around soon.”
“Is there nothing you can do to make him come around sooner?”
“Hanbyul. If all goes well he’s going to be my teammate. Plus, what could I possibly say to change things?”
“I don’t know. He probably thinks there’s something going on between us.”
Haruto paused. “Is that why you’re friends with me?”
“No, no I swear it’s not. You’re an amazing person and you’ve been an amazing friend.”
“Hanbyul.”
“I know, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said anything. I’m sorry.”
“I don’t like what you’re asking me to do. But you are my friend. If you’re really sure this is the way you want to go about it.”
“I’m- I’m not sure. I just need things to change.”
On the third day of tryouts Haruto was in a funk. And it showed. The events of yesterday night haunted him, he was happy to see you but he was sorry for Hanbyul. Haruto didn’t really like to fight with anybody, but he found her requests unreasonable and the questions she asked about you probing and uncomfortable.
It seemed as if Jeongwoo was the same way. Haruto gave into the niggling voice inside his head and said probably he shouldn’t have said. “You’re gonna lose your girl to me and now you’re gonna lose your spot on the team to me?”
It pushed Jeongwoo off the edge and the two of them went at it. Haruto played ferociously and aggressively. As did Jeongwoo. The game ended when Jeongwoo illegally body checked Haruto.
“Dude what the hell is your problem?”
“No, what’s your problem? Your comment back there? Absolutely uncalled for.”
Valid. But Haruto wasn’t going to admit that. “Please. Pull your head out of your ass. You’re hurting your friend. Talk to her.”
Haruto stood by as he and Jeongwoo got scolded for their behavior. Eventually, tryouts ended with neither one ending up on the varsity team. Haruto knew he probably should have been more bothered but he wasn’t. He had other things on his mind.
When Haruto exited the office he saw Hanbyul waiting outside. She turned to look away from Jeongwoo back to Haruto. Tired and hopeful that their saga would end, Haruto smiled and jutted his chin out towards Jeongwoo. Hanbyul smiled and ran after Jeongwoo.
Since the fateful day you have Haruto your number. Whenever he had a free moment he would ask to see you. After each time you saw him, you thoroughly wrote down everything that had happened in the day. You didn’t want to forget.
A few Mondays ago, you went to get ice cream together. “What’s your favorite food, Haruto?”
“Me? Anything unhealthy.”
You whacked him on the arm for that.
“Ow! What was that for?”
“For being a stupid teenage boy. And because I’m jealous of your metabolism.”
A couple Thursdays ago, Haruto asked you if you wanted to go watch a movie with him. The Uber and the weather didn’t quite work out. “Sorry we missed the movie by 45 minutes. But on the bright side, it’s not raining anymore!”
You laughed. “I guess you’re right. What should we do instead now that we’re here?”
Haruto looked around. He pointed at the grassy meadow. “We should just lay down on the grass and look at the stars.”
“The grass is wet.”
“Look, they're selling plastic tarps over at that convenience store. Let’s just buy one.”
“Okay.”
Haruto paid for a plastic tarp and spread it down out on the grassy meadow. The two of you laid on the ground parallel to one another. Until Haruto turned to you “can I hold you?”
You felt your face flush and you looked away. You hesitated for a few moments but eventually Haruto smiled when he heard a soft “yeah.”
So he moved his arm as you lifted your head to rest on top of it. You curled into him as his arm wrapped around your upper body. Haruto’s stomach exploded in butterflies. Your face was on fire. But the two of you were happy, blissful.
Last Friday night Haruto asked you to come to one of his lacrosse games. “Y/N, this is my friend Hanbyul. Hanbyul, this is Y/N.”
“Y/N?” Hanbyul stared at you eyes wide. Like she knew something. She looked like she wanted to say something but she held it in. You wondered what it was, but decided not to think too much about it.
Hanbyul was sweet. She kept you company throughout the game. But she was an aggressive cheer-er. Most of her attention was spent yelling at the field. Her energy was contagious and by the end of the game you were standing on the bleachers cheering “Go Haruto!”
Now it was Saturday and the two of you had finally gone to see the movie that you had meant to see a couple Thursdays ago. You clasped onto the arm that Haruto had held out for you as you exited the movie theater. “That movie was so good! It was so crazy!”
Haruto laughed. “Yeah it was okay.”
“Just okay? You didn’t like it?”
“No, I liked it. It wasn’t bad. But I feel like there were better movies from this cinematic universe you know?”
“Yeah I guess.”
“Which one was your favorite?” Haruto asked.
“Huh?” You looked up at Haruto to see him looking down at you. You turned away. “Um. Would you wanna come back to my place?”
“Huh?” Haruto wasn’t normally caught off guard but this time he was.
“I mean. Not like that. I just, I don’t know I’m not ready for the night to end and I figured since my place is close by we could just go back and chat.”
Haruto smiled. “Yeah, that sounds nice. Let’s go.”
Soon after the two of you arrived at your place, Haruto got situated on the couch and after making sure he was properly settled in. You had gotten up to go fetch your drinks. Haruto spotted your notebook sitting on the edge of the coffee table. He glanced over to see that your attention was fully occupied on making your drinks. Haruto turned back to stare at the notebook. No. The notebook was staring at him. Haruto knew it was wrong. He knew he shouldn’t peek.
But he couldn’t help it. Every time he saw you he either saw the notebook with you or he saw you writing the notebook and every time he even remotely looked in its direction you guarded it with your life. This could be his only chance.
And so, Haruto grabbed the notebook. He flipped through it and saw that it was very meticulously dated. Upon closer inspection he noticed that each entry was timed as well and every timed entry had extensive details about what you saw, what you talked about. Then he flipped backwards and found one page not like the others.
This page wasn’t dated. Instead, it was titled. Haruto. Haruto’s eyes widened. Every line of his designated page was filled. There were things about him on there that even he hadn’t realized he had said. Why had you written all these things down? All these details didn’t seem that important to him. They were like things that were probably easily remembered. Or things you could ask him about, he’d answer if you ever asked him about.
Just as he was about to continue flipping through the pages of the notebook. “What do you think you’re doing?”
An index card fluttered out of the notebook right at Haruto’s feet. Haruto bent down to pick it up. But in a panic you kicked his shin and as he howled and grabbed onto his leg you snatched the card. “What the hell Y/N?”
“No. I should be asking you that. I’ve made it abundantly clear that this notebook is not to be touched. It’s incredibly private to me.”
“What is it? Why is it so important? I asked Hanbyul what it might be and she just said it was probably a diary. What is so special about yours?”
“What is so special about mine?” you were so angry you felt like your head was about to pop. While your head didn’t pop. Your mouth certainly did. “What is so special about mine? This notebook? This notebook. Is my memory. I don’t have a memory.”
You tossed the card at Haruto. He picked it up and read the words on the card as you spoke.
“At age 13 you were involved in a very traumatic car accident. The accident left you in a coma for two weeks. After you recovered from your coma you were diagnosed with anterograde amnesia. From that day on, you no longer have the ability to make memories. The memories you make within a day will only last until you fall asleep wherein your memories of the previous day will be wiped. Use your notebooks to keep track of your days. Use these notebooks to help you remember.”
You could hear your voice waver as you finished reciting the contents on the index card.
“Y/N, I-” Haruto said. The world seemed grayer and grimmer. Everything made so much sense now. Why every time he spoke to you in school you had to ask for his name. Why sometimes you looked confused or blank when he mentioned something or attempted to crack a joke.
“So now you know.” You whispered. You could feel your body start to heave, your breathing became heavy. The gravity of what you had just exposed started to weigh down on you. “You need to leave. You need to leave and never come back.”
“Y/N. I wish you would have told me.”
“Why?” You snarled. “Why would I tell you that? Each day I wake up I can’t even remember who you are. Why would I have told you anything? Just so you could go around pitying me? Telling everyone else about me? Absolutely not.”
Haruto started to feel tears well up in his own eyes. He felt trapped in his own body as he watched your body fail yours. When he saw you collapse something snapped in his head and he got up and picked you up. One arm held you under your shoulder blades and the other below your knees.
“Get. Out.” you said in between wheezes.
“No. Y/N. I’m sorry. I don’t want to. Let me help you.”
“Get. Out.” you said, barely conscious.
“Y/N. You’re scaring me. What do I do? How do I help you? Let me help you and I’ll leave you alone.”
Your eyelids were getting heavier and heavier. Honestly, you weren’t even sure what exactly was going on. Maybe it would be smart to have Haruto call your doctor before he left. “Emergency Numbers. Notebook.”
Haruto placed you down on your bed just as you had passed out. Haruto immediately ran back to the living room and grabbed your notebook that had fallen onto the ground. He flipped through it frantically. What page were the emergency numbers on? He saw them scribbled on the inside of the back cover. He grabbed his phone and dialed the first number listed at the top.
“Hello? Is this Y/N’s doctor? She’s just passed out and I don’t know what to do. I’m in her apartment right now. Someone please come help me.” Haruto hadn’t even realized that tears had been streaming down his face until he saw wet splotches appear on the notebook. He wiped them quickly and sniffed. “This is scaring me.”
“Yes, this is Y/N’s doctor. I’m on my way over. Who is this?”
“Haruto. I’m a friend of hers.”
“Haruto. You did good, son. Just wait. I’ll be there in a second.”
“Doctor. Is she gonna be okay?”
“Honestly I can’t tell you right now. I have to check up on her. Right now I’m in front of her door so you can let me in.” The call ended and Haruto opened the door.
“Is she in her room?” The stout man asked.
Haruto nodded and followed him back into your room. He tried to help the doctor but eventually the doctor turned to him and said “son, just relax. Give me some space. She should be fine. She had a panic attack, something must have worked her up. But she’ll wake up. But, it might be better if you aren’t here by the time she wakes up.
“I understand, doctor.”
The doctor took a good look at him. Then nodded grimly before turning his attention back to you. Before Haruto could leave though he saw a stack of index cards, a roll of washi tape, and a pen sitting on your desk. He was still holding your notebook from earlier. He grabbed the materials and headed back out to the living room.
Before he left he scribbled out a note. Then pulled something out of his wallet and taped it to the back of the index card. He then taped the index card to the inside of the front cover before shutting the notebook and leaving it in the middle of your coffee table. He held in a sob as he got up. How had things gone so sour so quickly?
Haruto walked back over to your room and peeked in. Your doctor was still busy doting on you. So he turned around and exited your apartment. He pulled his phone out of his pocket and called Junkyu. “Hey, can you pick me up?”
“Yeah of course. Send me the address.” Junkyu said, trying not to be too alarmed by the tone of Haruto’s voice.
Eventually, you woke up. After reading the note that your doctor had taped to your hand explaining the situation you took a deep sigh. What a shit show. You needed to find the notebook your doctor had mentioned in his note.
It was sitting in the very middle of your coffee table. You flipped through the last few pages to read your entries. Your eyes started to water and you felt yourself get emotional. You could sense that you had grown close to someone. You read about yourself and how you felt about Haruto, but who was Haruto? For the most part you had made peace with your situation but for the first time in a long time, you began to feel frustrated. Angry. Cheated of a normal life that other 16 year old girls got to live.
Just as you were about to shut the notebook you noticed there were two index cards taped to the inside cover. The first one explained your situation. It was more or less what your doctor had just explained to you. But the second one was new. You lifted it up to your face and began to read it aloud.
Y/N,
If you’re reading this, I want you to know that you are the love of my life. My name is Haruto Watanabe and I am 16 years old. I met you for the first time in our freshman year of high school back then when we lived in Japan. We were only 14 years old. I used to be jealous of you, how you beat me in school every time even if just by a little bit. I also resented you because I thought you never bothered to remember my name.
By some stroke of fate, we both ended up in America. Whether by fate or not we saw each other a few more times and met up with each other and I really began to fall for you. You are the kindest, most beautiful, and genuine person I have ever met in my life.
I want you to know that even with your condition. My opinion and my feelings towards you have not changed. I want to be honest with you and tell you what I did and I hope in time you can read this and not feel angry.
Y/N, I did something bad. I invaded your privacy. You see, every time I saw you you fiercely guarded this notebook. Everytime I asked about it or possibly glimpsed at it you would react so strongly so eventually the curiosity of needing to know what was in the notebook killed me. And one day when your attention was occupied elsewhere, I read it.
It seemed like a regular diary to me but you caught me in the act and got upset with me. You explained to me your condition and I want you to know I’m sorry. I’m so so sorry I behaved so insensitively. If I were a more selfless man I would have left your life for good. But I am not. I’ve attached my school I.D. to the back of this card. On it has my name, my picture, and my phone number.
If you ever find it in yourself to forgive me. Please give me a call. I will always love you.
Love,
Haruto Watanabe
You flipped the back of the card over. Sure enough there was a school I.D. taped to the back. You pulled the card off and stared at it. The boy in the picture was handsome. He was tall. His height was 6’2”. You scoffed, at least you had good taste.
You saw his phone number at the bottom. You pondered over whether or not to call him, what would you even say to him? Where would he even fit in your life?
These were the questions that ran through your mind as you pulled your phone out and dialed his number. You stared at the numbers as you recited them aloud again. Your thumb hovering above the green button.

“How do you like it?” Sam asked.
You turned to the mirror, eyes wide and mouth agape, admiring your new suit.
“This is awesome!” You squealed.
Sam, Tony, and Nat had deisgned a new suit for you. After your last battle, your suit had been torn to shreds. It had been months since you were able to go out in the field and you’d be anxious to fight crime. Now that you had your new suit, you were now able to fight crime.
You were named Fox. You were sly, witty, and and charming. Not just in your moves, but your personality, too. You had been working alongside your dad, Iron Man, for 7 years. You were 10 when you started, obviously too young to actually be fighting, but you were his right hand woman at all times. You helped him with his suit, team, and plans on how to deal with missions.
Your suit was a dark orange body suit, much like Nat’s. You had fingerless gloves, black combat boots, and an orange mask that went around your eyes. You had a black stripe down your suit’s back, much like a fox’s. You also had a utility belt with a grapling hook, taser, and pepper spray — you could never be too careful in the city. You and Tony tried hard to keep your identity safe, especially since you were still in high school.
“Do you think we need to add anything?” Tony asked.
“Can I get rockets on the bottoms on my shoes like you?” You asked.
Tony chuckled, “We’d have to change the whole material of your suit, cupcake. You don’t like metal, remember?”
You grumbled, “Yeah, yeah. Well, I love it! Thank you guys so much.” You turned to them with a big smile.
“No problem, babe,” Nat smiled. “You have training with me today at five.”
You nodded, “Noted.”
“There will be someone else joining you in trianing today,” Tony said.
“Who? Is it Bucky?” You asked. “No, he’s new,” Tony said.
“Wow, that gives me a lot. Who is it?” You pressed.
“You’ll see. He’s actually pretty good for just starting out,” Sam smirked.
You sighed, knowing they were gonna make it a surprise.
“Well, I can’t wait!” You faked enthusiasm. You didn’t like surprises.
You went off and up to your room, changing out of your suit and into running shorts and a t-shirt. You decided to take a nap before your training.
You woke up 2 hours later, still as exhausted as before. You filled up your water bottle before going into the gym. You saw Nat and a brunette boy. He wasn’t too much taller and by the back of his head, he didn’t look too much older.
“Hey, Nat,” you greeted as you walked in and set your water bottle near the mat.
“Hey, Y/n! This is our new recruit, Peter Parker. You probably know him as Spider-Man,” Nat smiled. Peter turned around and his eyes widened.
His heart started to race and his face turned red as he looked over you. Your eyes were bright and lively, your smile being the most gorgeous smile he’d ever seen. Your skin flawless and you had no makeup on, but you still looked beautiful.
“Hi,” you smiled. “I’m Y/n Stark,” you held out your hand.
Peter opened his mouth to speak, but the only sound that came out was a squeak. Nat and you chuckled at his shock.
“H-hi. I’m Parker. No, Pe-Peter,” he stuttered and shook your hand.
“Not used to meeting important people, huh?” You smirked.
“Ye-yeah, but also pretty people,” he blurted. His face turned a darker shade of red and he slapped his mad over his mouth.
The action made Nat giggle and his words made flustered as well.
“Thank you, Peter,” you said shyly and looked down at your shoes.
“Ready to get to work, love birds?” Nat teased.
You rolled your eyes and nodded. You took a long sip of water.
“We are gonna start on the treadmill, do some weights, and I’m gonna teach you some combat moves,” Nat instructed.
You and Peter nodded and got up on the treadmills.
“One mile today. Remember to pace yourself. If you get tired, don’t be afraid to slow down a little,” Nat said.
You started the treadmill at 3.5 so you can warm up for a few minutes before running. You took a small sip of your water as you sped-walked. You looked over and saw Peter already running his mile. Your brows cocked upwards as you saw him running at 6.0 speed.
You worked your way up to 6.0 speed, finishing your mile in 6 minutes. Peter, however, finished 3 minutes after you.
“I said pace yourself, kid,” Nat said.
Peter blushed again and nodded.
“Next time, follow Y/n’s lead. She paces herself nicely,” Nat said while you took a drink of water.
“Thanks, Nat. I have been doing this for a long time,” you smiled.
“How long? Are you a superhero?” Peter asked.
“Mhm,” you hummed. “I’ve been helping my dad since I was 10. I’ve been a superhero for 3 years.”
“What’s your superhero name?” Peter asked.
“Fox.”
“Oh, my God! Really? I-I am such a big fan. You were what actually inspired me to become Spider-Man. I think it’s so cool how you save people and fight off bad guys without any superpowers,” Peter gushed.
“Thank you, Pete,” you giggled at his excitement.
“You’re welcome. Wow, this is so cool. I am working with Fox, Iron Man, Black Widow,” Peter smiled.
“You’re lucky, kid,” Nat smiled and patted his back. “Okay, why don’t you all stretch. Peter, have you ever benched before?”
Peter shook his head while stretching his hamstrings.
“Okay, we’ll start you out with 45 pounds. If that’s too light, we’ll bump it up to 50,” Nat said and put the weights on the bar. “Y/n, what do you wanna do today?”
“Uh, I’ll do a leg and glute day today. My arms need a break,” you said.
“Rock and roll, then. I’ll spot you, Parker,” Nat said. Peter went to bench press while you went to the kickback machine.
You and Peter worked in weights for about an hour. You did a variety of workouts while Peter mainly focused on how to use each machine and which would be most beneficial for him.
“Okay. Grab a drink, use the bathroom, whatever you need before we do some fighting,” Nat said.
You both went to do your things before you were going to fight. You came back in the gym, stretching your arms while walking in.
“Ready to work, Pete?” You asked the boy and patted his back. He nodded and choked on his water when he looked up at you
You changed our of your shorts and t-shirt to black biker shorts and a grey sports bra. The biker shorts hugged your body perfectly and the top of your breats showed, making Peter stare.
You noticed and smirked. “My eyes are up here, kid.”
His eyes immediately shot up and his face blushed for what seemed like the 100th time today.
“I am so sorry. I just don’t see girls in bras, like, ever. In gym class we all wear t-shirts, which makes sense. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, I swear I’m not a prevert or anything, you just look really uh... nice? I—”
Nat and you turned to each other, amusement played on your faces. You turned back to the rambling boy.
“It’s okay, Peter. I get it, boobs are nice to look at. Especially when you’re a hormonal, almost always horny, teenage boy,” you teased.
“I’m not horny!” He claimed, embarrassing himself more.
“Don’t worry, I never assumed you were. I was just speaking generally,” you smiled.
“Oh,” he said and he looked down sheepishly.
“No worries. Now, let’s get goin’,” you said.
Peter nodded and followed you to the mat.
“So, we are going to practice some basic moves. Y/n, I know you already know them, but there is nothing wrong with reviewing,” Nat said.
You both nodded, waiting for further instruction.
“So, the first one is simple, yet very dangerous. It’s also fairly easy, in my opinion. It’s called the rear neck choke,” Nat said. “Peter, you’re gonna stand behind Y/n and put your arm around her neck.”
Peter nodded and awkwardly stood behind you. Your butt brushed against his crotch, making him cough awkwardly. He put his arm around your neck. The skin-to-skin contact made your heart flutter. You cleared your throat, too, breathing deeply to try and slow your heart rate.
“Good. Now, you basically just squeeze until the person passes out. Y/n, why don’t you demenstrate the next move,” Nat said.
You smiled and took ahold of Peter’s arm. You then crouched down and pulled him over your head. You flipped him over on the mat.
“Ow,” he whined as he fell. He looked up at you and couldn’t help but smile. You stood tall, hands on your hips and a smile on your face.
“Now, Peter, what you can do when she does that is hook your legs on her ankles and pull so she looses balance. You then can reach for her ankle and throw her across the room. But, we arent going to do that. What you can do, though, is do the ankle bit I told you. Then you can pin her down,” Nat explained.
Peter looked at you two hesitantly. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
Y/n chuckled, “It’s all right. You won’t hurt me that bad, I promise.”
Peter nodded and did as he was told. He hooked his feet over your ankle and jerked you so your feet gave out beneth you. He then got up quickly to pin you down, but you were quicker.
You rolled over and pinned him down instead. Your left hand held his wrists above his head while your right held down his shoulder. Your legs went around his waist and squeezed slightly to make sure he wouldn’t move. Your head leaned down to his, a triumphant smile resting on your lips.
“W-wha-” Peter was at a loss for words. Not just because you beat him, but how close you two were.
He breathed in deeply, catching a whiff of your scent. You smelled like cherries and vanilla. Your skin was smooth, clear, and glowing from the sheer film of sweat on your face. You looked like an angel to him, nonetheless.
“And that is why you gotta be faster, Parker. But you’ll learn in time. You’re already pretty good on the field by yourself,” Nat said.
Peter nodded. You got up off of him and helped him up.
“Wanna try that again? I promise I won’t do that again,” you suggested.
“Sure,” Peter nodded and laid back on the mat.
He hooked onto your ankle again. As you promised, you let him pin you down. You watched the way he moved. He was swift and fast. The way his muscles flexed when he grabbed your wrist made your stomach flip.
He got on top of you, pinning both your wrists like you did to him. His free hand went to the side of your face, helping him support himself so he wouldn’t be laying directly on top of you.
Your heart rate quickened once more and you felt like it was hard to breathe. A few strands of his hair were hanging down from his head and he had sweat glistening on his forehead. His honey-brown eyes was something you found yourself getting lost in quickly. He was so handsome.
“Uh... Y/n?” Peter muttered, catching your attention.
You blinked rapidly and looked away in embarrassment. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” he gave you a friendly smile and got off of you.
“Okay, water break. You two practice those few moves a few more times,” Nat said.
You got up and took a big sip of your water bottle. You then got back to training with Peter. He was a fast learner and almost every time pinned you down. You, however, were slightly faster.
Each time you got on top of him, Peter couldn’t help the butterflies in his stomach. He’d never been this close to a girl before.
Thirty minutes later and the session was over.
“Good job, you two. Next time we’ll get into more moves involving punching and such. See you later, kiddos,” Nat smiled at you two. She left the gym and you turned to Peter.
“It was nice meeting you, Pete. Maybe we can hang out outside of training?” You suggested.
Peter’s eyes lit up and he nodded excitedly.
“Y-yeah. I’d like that.”
“Great. Give me your number next time. See you, Spidey,” you waved and left the gym.
Peter jumped up and down. He couldn’t wait to tell Ned.

ENERGY CHECKUP: YOONGI (again)
Now, I know I've already done an energy check up on yoon but I wanted to see how he was doing now that he's gotten his shoulder surgery!
Disclaimer time: tarot is not to be takes as fact and is my interpretation if the cards :) entertainment purposes only~
SHIT IS STRANGE (it is Yoongi though so I'm not too shocked)
Tumblr media
So. For starters, his energy is pretty calm and chill. He's also a bit more quiet?
I wrote a note that tomorrow is exciting... idk I wrote it down and I'm not sure if its exciting for him or for us? Maybe its just a general like, "tomorrow is a good day" type thing.
Now. 11... I wrote this down and I'm not sure why though I believe that he might be seeing 11:11 on the clock or possibly that something exciting is happening for him at 11:11 (I just checked and thats in like an hour and a half from when I'm writing this down(( update i just finished writing the whole post and it is about 11 minutes away)) idk. I make no promises but I wrote it down so there you go.
I also kept seeing plants and I'm not sure if people got him flowers or plants as a "get well" type thing or maybe he's stressing bc someone has to water his plants lol
Okay. Okay. Hear me out. Black bean noodles. It popped into my head and I was told to write it down but I'm also really hungry so take that with a grain of fucking salt. (I even pictured a nice elaborate bowl that was red as well as the take out container. Yum. Send me noodles)
MOVING ON
Here's the actual reading lol. He is bored.
Thats all. Thank you for coming.
Jk
I joke. The cards give me a kind of frazzled feeling? Its the struggle of knowing hes done something good but it comes at a cost. Yoongi works. A lot. All the goddamn time. So what now? He's having this shake up thats forcing him to deal with stuff. Him having this surgery also may have brought back some less than favorable memories/ feelings that hes being forced to deal with now. Over all though he feels like its good. The 6 of wands makes me think that he's thinking of our response when he comes back. Its like he's gonna be so much more confident in himself and his dancing and he can finally move on from the car accident? It happed so long ago but he literally carried this burden with him. Its good. The wheel of fortune and is about a change and the 8 of swords is about self imposed restriction, imprisonment and over all bad/ negative feelings. I pulled the wheel of fortune first and asked what was changing and that was the 8 of swords. This surgery is helping to free him from this restricting, painful thing that may have been reminding him of the past! YES HEALING
Now. For this section I just kinda asked "whats up?" And got, easy does it, divine life purpose l, balancing masculine and feminine energies and uplift your thoughts. He may be resting but he's got his mind working on 3,000 my dude. Its the regular "yoongi is woke af" bullshit but damn. The cards say what they say. He's preparing. I'll come back to this.
Now the 7 of cups and the 3 of swords. I asked how he felt about missing out on promoting. He's heart broken with the 3 of swords. It genuinely pains him. And with the 7 of cups he might feel like there's a lot of ways this can play out and he's considered a lot of options.
I was curious how he felt about me coming into his energy so I asked him what he thought of me. Lol. These each came out separately. We got, 2 of cups, four of wands, the empress, justice, the magician, the sun and the lovers. Ha
So. To add to the mood setting my guide said "he's a drama queen" lol yeah he is.
So so so so so. I was confused? Still am a little confused but I'm like 80.9% sure that he isn't bothered by me poking around in his energy n shit. In fact my theory is that he's using this connection to his advantage? Lol sounds dumb but my best guess is that home boy sees my energy/ what I'm doing as a way to figure out his own shit? Idk maybe he thinks I'm his energetic therapist. Maybe even a matchmaker (I mean... I have been putting a lot of energy and work into finding/ connecting with his soulmate so maybe he's letting me do all the dirty work) I really don't understand but I got no further explanation.
Oki oki oki. Now. I was drawn to 2 books. The kybalion and the prophet. I asked yoon if there was any messages that we wanted to point out through the books and I got a number for each book so I took it as page numbers. 28 for the prophet and 54 for the kybalion
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Take what you will from these if it calls to you. I haven't read these since I was around 13? The sentiments for each felt important to me so I'm curious what you all might think/ feel when reading these? ( I also get the feeling that Yoongi has read the prophet idk why)
Okay. At this point I was like cool, let's wrap this up but I need to talk about his pjs? Green/grey? Plaid pj bottoms don't ask me don't ask me don't ask me I don't know but It wouldn't go away so I had write it down? Help.
I had written yoongis brother down too. Theres something about him? I'm not sure what but thats all I got lol
I was very strongly told that I needed to remember 7, that its important. Got it. Worth it down.
Oki. As I was going back to the platform blah blah blah the string turned blue too. The cord is usually white or silver but it was blue so that was a fun thing and then I was like "nice. Cool. Thanks. This was awesome, get healthy blah blah" and go to leave/ end the connection but the cord wouldn't go away.
???
What.
Then the string (idk if I said but that string shit is like on the third eye? Its connected to my forehead and his too.) Kind tightens.
I'm like, "oh shit."
Listen. Usually everything is smooth and nice and I just leave.
All is well though bc my guide is like, "stop being a little bitch" so I just let it happen.
Yoon shoves me back off the edge of the platform. Why he gotta be like that?
Now. This is strange. I had dropped down into a library.
Y'ALL
I almost shit my fucking pants. Dear god.
THE AKASHIC RECORDS MY DUDE
He started walking me around until he found a blue book. His mother fucking book.
Home boy brought me to his fucking Akashic fucking blue fucking book.
I was big mad. "YOU LITTLE FUCKER! YOUVE KNOWN ABIUT THIS SHIT?" And he was like, "duh"
I've never felt more disrespect lol
Also the way the library was presented was way way way different from how it looks to me. So thats an interesting note. Looking at his book, on the base of the spine is a number 7...
Oki. Cool. I asked if I could look and he said, "Sure, when you can find your way back."
This mother fucker threw me out of a meditative state. Have you ever woken up just before you hit the ground in one of those falling dreams? THAT WAS THE FEELING.
?? I'm not sure what the fuck just happened or if it holds actual significance.
Anyway. After cursing the fuck out of yoobi I started thinking what else 7 ment.
I was specifically told to remember 7 and it was on his book. Then It popped into my head (I want to say its because I'm smart and thought of it all by myself but I think that was my guide wanting me to keep my last brain cell safe). What is yoongis life path number?
Now I don't know shot about life path numbers but imma read up on them tonight. I used a life path calculator on Google. HIS LIFE PATH NUMBER IS 7 Y'ALL.
Tumblr media
Maybe I'm dumb as fuck but yoobi never disappoints.
Conclusion: Yoon is fine. Hes just being a yoongi and a yoongi does.

3 am Talks - hq pt 3
a/n: almost done, two more left!! i’m not sure why, but these ones were really fun for me to do and i had to cut myself off before i wrote whole fics for each one. also thank you to my wifey for helping me with akaashi, idk why his was so hard for me to do ): pairings: bokuto x reader, akaashi x reader, ushijima x reader, tendou x reader, semi x reader warnings: some spoilers for post timeskip, minor cussing, a bit suggestive (ushi) taglist: @babydabi, @suckersuki, @bakugoustanaccount, @animoozies part 2 | part 4
‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾ *:・゚✧*:・゚✧✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙
Tumblr media
⇾ definitely someone who talks about the first things that just pop into his mind ⇾ would literally change topics in the middle of his sentence ⇾ “did you see my last spread, I was centerfold Tsum-Tsum was not happy but when I offered to trade places with him, it made him even more mad - I just got an email saying my new knee pads have been shipped YES - babe are you hungry? Let’s go to the convenience store and get some snacks” ⇾ all over the place ⇾ but the second sleep starts to hit him, he become even softer than he already is ⇾ this baby would def be asking for validation without outright asking for it - we all know he lives to be praised but as he gets older, he stops asking for it directly ⇾ i feel like he just becomes more self-conscious after he realizes that being on a national team means that now the entire WORLD is scrutinizing him ⇾ i could keep going on about him imma stop
“I couldn’t help it, I started laughing.” Even hours later, Bokuto was trying to hold in laughter from the memory of the event. “I think that’s why he’s mad at you Kou.” Bokuto pouted. “I offered to help him up.” “Yeah, but you were also red from laughing so hard and wiping the tears from your eyes. I don’t think he appreciated that.” Bokuto got quiet and you knew what that meant. “But at the end of the day, the pictures came out amazing. You look amazing.” His smile, although soft compared to his usual grin, came back. “You think so?” You hummed. “If volleyball doesn’t work out, you could be a model. I already know one of my friends has a shrine dedicated to you. Which honestly feels weird, but hey, if it’s harmless why should I care?” you said, going off on a tangent. Bokuto brushed off the compliment that normally would’ve stroked his ego. “Nah, I don’t think I could handle the pressure.” You cocked an eyebrow. “People constantly judging you and criticizing you. You know me, I thrive with praise and…” “Become emo with criticism?” He let out a dry chuckle. “Yeah. I’m trying to change.” You reached over and caressed his cheek. “There’s a difference between growing up and mellowing out and changing who you are. You’ve done the growing up part and you’re slowly mellowing out as much as you can. But please don’t change.” “But people keep saying -” “Forget what they say. I love you the way you are now.” Bokuto’s full grin returned to his face. “I love you more.”
.・゜-: ✧ :- -: ✧ :-゜・.
Tumblr media
⇾ more of a listener he learned his ways from babysitting bo ⇾ he would just enjoy listening to whatever you had on your mind ⇾ one to add his own commentary and thoughts to whatever you were saying ⇾ if he were to talk though, he would reminisce  ⇾ talks of bokuto and his old team, things he misses ⇾ but speaking of bokuto, he would go off on how proud he is seeing his former ace doing so well for himself now - even if he still isn’t a normal player ⇾ depending on how open he’s feeling, he might even wander into his insecurities and childhood, things he doesn’t really open up about unless he feels really close to you
“And then I booked it out of there,” you finished your story. Akaashi hummed. “What about the other girl who was still working?” “Look, she never sticks around to help me when I have extra work, I wasn’t going to stick around to help her.” He cracked a smile at your pettiness. “Wait, didn’t you have lunch with Bokuto today?” “Yes. It was nice.” You waited a moment thinking that Akaashi would add more. “That’s it? It was nice?” “Well, you know how he is. But it was nice to see him trying to change himself. Well, improve himself.” You rolled over from your back onto his chest and reached up to play with his hair. “We talked a lot about playing during high school and what the others are doing these days. Everyone is so busy now, it’s hard to keep up. I’m proud of them.” You didn’t let the smile on Akaashi’s face go unnoticed, commenting on how it always seemed to be there whenever he talked about his former ace. “Leave me alone, I’m happy with how far he’s come on his own. I can’t but smile when I think about the people I love.” “Do you smile when you think about me?” “Of course I do, you idiot,” he replied before kissing your forehead.
.・゜-: ✧ :- -: ✧ :-゜・.
Tumblr media
⇾ i very strongly believe he would talk about parallel universes ⇾ he would go into the existence of them but also like ‘what if there was a way for people in a parallel universe who could watch me as if my life was a movie’ ⇾ if he was in a more serious mood, like if he had a big match coming up or sum, he would talk more about his goals ⇾ the things he hopes to accomplish in the future, the outcomes he wants in life ⇾ if he was tired, it would be more like akaashi - more listening, less talking ⇾ i feel like he would always want to know what’s happening in your mind so he would ask you the most random questions or just want to listen to you talk as he drifts off to sleep
“Do you think they saw me when I tripped over Leo and dropped the dishes?” You remembered when he tripped over the cat the two of you were raising and ended up breaking a few plates. As annoyed as you were that the plates you like broke, it gave you a reason to go domestic shopping with your boyfriend. You sighed. “No Toshi. If they were watching you, it would be when you’re playing volleyball or taking a shower.” “But you’re in the shower with me sometimes. You think they saw what we were doing?” “If they did,” you started with your eyebrows raised, “I hope they enjoy it as much I do.” He chuckled. “Why when I’m playing volleyball?” “Because that’s your job now. What else would they watch you do? Play with Leo?” He didn’t reply as he looked down to the cat in his lap. Petting it, the two of you sat in silence for a while. You finally thought he dropped the topic as you started to drift to sleep. “I wonder if the people watching like me. Or what if they think I’m the villain?” You sat up in bed. “Why would you think you would be a villain in a show about volleyball?” “I don’t know. I could be a side character that no one likes.” His voice got quieter the more he talked. “Aw, Toshi. I’m sure you have many, many fans in this parallel universe who all wish to be dating you. You never intentionally hurt anyone. You tried, in your own way, to work with Oikawa, but it’s not like you sabotaged him or anything.” He nodded. “He should’ve come to Shiratorizawa. We could’ve been that impressive first year duo instead of Hinata and Kageyama.” You rubbed his shoulder. “I know, baby. You remind me of that at least once a month.”
.・゜-: ✧ :- -: ✧ :-゜・.
Tumblr media
⇾ he would get deep ⇾ talks about his childhood where he was bullied to where he is now ⇾ while he has his insecurities, he would still be very proud of himself and how far he’s come and everything he accomplished ⇾ on the topic of being proud, he would never pass up the opportunity to talk up his bff ushi and he would hype him up even though it’s just the two of you ⇾ he wouldn’t forget about the other third years aka his other ‘best friends’ (i use quotes bc he only has eyes for ushi lezbehonest) ⇾ the talk would shift over to you and how lucky he feels to have found you ⇾ half of the things he would say would just to get you all embarrassed and shy so he could tease you about it
You woke up an hour ago because when you went to snuggle with your boyfriend, his body was missing from bed. For the last hour, he talked to you about how much he’s grown over the years, not once stopping to let you say anything. You finally had enough of this monologue. “Satori, how much more can you possibly say? It’s been a whole ass hour. Get your ass to bed so I can snuggle with you and lemme sleep.” Sighing, he walked away from the window where he was using the light from the moon to set the mood of his speech. Getting into bed, he waited until you were satisfied and closed your eyes. “But also, Wakatoshi has gotten so far on his own. I couldn’t be more proud of my best friend.” “Satori, please. For the love of God.” “Babe, you gotta let me air this out. Good communication and all that.” “We don’t have a single problem that needs to be ‘aired out’ right now. I got work in the morning and you like the sound of your own voice.” That still didn’t stop him. “And Semi, I gotta hand it to him, the man finally learned how to dress properly. And his music isn’t that bad either so I gotta find something new to annoy him with now. Reon is still keeping his fighting spirit alive and playing volleyball too. My friends, all doing so well.” Tendou glanced down at you who had fallen asleep to his heart beats. “But you. I’m the most proud of you. I’m so lucky to have found you. Not that I needed someone in my life at the time, but all the happiness you’ve given me on top of the great things in my life. You’re an amazing person, and I appreciate the impact you’ve made in my life.”
.・゜-: ✧ :- -: ✧ :-゜・.
Tumblr media
⇾ before we start with semisemi, he plays bass and sings in his band but he also plays the piano and guitar (these are MY OWN hcs, none of this is canon) ⇾ that being said, he would stay up late at night playing his guitar, working on songs and quietly singing lyrics to himself ⇾ his talks would be about purpose - like why he’s on this earth similar to hinata ⇾ aha ha ha so if yall read kuroo’s, you know how i feel about scorpios ⇾ semi babe is not safe from that either ⇾ while he is bad at opening up, he also has a short temper so expect apologies for his random outbursts from him ⇾ imma touch on this more in my semi relationship hcs so i shall stop here
You had been on your computer, finishing up some work of yours that you had been procrastinating on with Semi sitting on the couch, strumming his guitar as he worked on a new song. You hadn’t been paying attention the entire time, not until you closed your laptop and sat back in your chair. “Eita, what’s that song?” Your sudden question caused him to jump a little. “Oh, uh, I didn’t realize you were listening.” “I just heard you singing. What is that?” He rubbed the nape of his neck. “I was hoping to hold out until it was finished.” You walked over to him, draping your arms around his shoulders and leaning your weight on him. You read the lyrics he had so far, your eyes growing bigger with each line. “What… is this?” “An apology.” You pulled away from him. “I know I’m not the easiest boyfriend and that when I have a problem, I should say something rather than exploding on you over the littlest thing. I didn’t really know how else to express this without messing it all up.” “I’ve known you for a long time, I wouldn’t be with you if I didn’t figure that much out.” “But still, it doesn’t mean that I should just stay this way. I should be growing with you as a person, not stuck how I am. I really do need to learn to express myself better.” You let out a small chuckle. “Like I haven’t heard that one before.” You had. Four times already. “And this will be the last. Thank you for putting up with me.” Your arms wrapped around him once again. “Next time, I expect an entire album with love songs dedicated to me. Got it?” “Well fuck, I better not mess up. I don’t have enough material for an entire love album.” You shoved him. “Hey! Maybe I will leave your sorry ass.” “I’m just kidding! Babe! Where are you going?!”

Treasure vs A Bad Day
Tumblr media
🐷 Hyunsuk
"Hello?"
A chuckle comes out of the phone, "Did you just wake up?"
You yawn into the phone prompting another chuckle to come from Hyunsuk, "Yeah. I was tired after class so I came home and went right to sleep."
"How was class?"
"So boring. I forgot my laptop so I had to take paper notes. I even had to tap the guy in front of me to ask. It was embarrassing," you groan.
"Sounds so dreadful," he replies, voice coming out with a hint of teasing.
"It was," you say, shifting you look around the room to look at the clock on the wall, "When are you coming back?"
"That's why I called. Do you want to go get food?"
"What are we going to get?" You question.
"You can pick might cheer you up," he replies. That night you settle for pasta which you'll both admit was overpriced, but it made you happy.
🐼 Jihoon
"Frowning causes wrinkles," Jihoon says walking into my bedroom.
"Does it look like I care," you respond, shrinking further into your blanket.
He signs making his way to the windows opening the curtains letting in the sunlight, "Get up right now."
"No, leave me alone."
"You know I can't do that," he replies sitting down on the side of my bed, "What happened?"
"Nothing happened. Just everything today is irritating."
He nods, "Okay, I understand that, but that doesn't mean you can't make today a good day. Let's go on a walk."
"That's the last thing I want to do right now."
"Come on trust me."
You look up at him. You can see that he is trying so you groan sitting up, "Fine now get out I need to change."
🐯 Yoshi
"Hey come to the kitchen!" Yoshi shouts.
"Okay," you yell back. Shuffling over to the kitchen you are met with a smiling Yoshi holding a plate of cookies.
"Did you make these?"
"I attempted to yes. Here, try one. I hope they taste good."
Reaching for a cookie you look over the plate. They look like regular chocolate chip cookies with caramel drizzled on top. The color is golden brown so he cooked them at the right temperature. Grabbing a cookie you take a bite.
"Is it good?"
"They are delicious," you reply, taking another bite it melts in your mouth right away.
His eyes widened like he's shocked to hear the answer, "Really?"
"Yeah. What did you make cookies though I have some in the pantry?"
He sets down the plate wiping his hands on your apron he has on, "You looked a little bit down today so I thought I would cheer you up."
"That's so sweet. Thank you." You reply before giving him a hug. Honestly, you had no idea Yoshi was paying so much attention to you. This sudden gift makes you love him a bit more.
🐨 Junkyu
"It's okay you're okay," Junkyu comforts rubbing small circles into your back.
"I messed everything up. I won't graduate,  then I'll have to go back home and I already have a life here."
"No, you can just take a summer course."
"Then I'll miss out on our summer," you say pushing your head farther into your knees, "I don't want you stuck at the library with me."
Sighing he runs his fingers through his head, "It won't matter as long as you get to stay here. We can study at some pretty cafes around Seoul and outside as well. The summer won't be a bummer as long as your here."
Slowly you lift your head out of your knees facing him, pout still hanging strong on your lips, "Are you sure? What are you gonna do while I'm studying?"
He thinks for a second the thought never came across his mind before he proposed the idea, "I don't know but there is no way I'm letting you go back home. You are here to stay."
🐹 Mashiho
"On a scale from 1 to 10, how sad are you?"
"Ten," you reply.
"That bad?" He questions.
"Yeah, migraine, and I have math homework."
"I can't help you with your math homework, but I can get you some ibuprofen."
Nodding in agreement you smile sadly, "That would be great."
Mashiho is already making his way to the door, "I'll be right back then. You're getting cuddles when I get back!" He adds on at the end before he's out the door.
🦁 Jaehyuk
"Come on one smile."
"I'm smiling see," you reply, smiling but it doesn't reach the eyes.
"That is a fake smile. I want a real smile," he says.
"Jae I'm not in the mood," you reply.
"Why not," he questions.
You look down at the table, "I just don't feel happy today."
"Ahh okay well is there a reason?"
You shake your head, "Not really I just woke up and it felt like it was a bad day."
He reaches for your hand holding it, "Why did you tell me?"
"You were so happy this morning I didn't want to ruin your day."
"No matter what I'm feeling you should be able to tell me how you are feeling," he tells you, he starts playing with one of the rings on your finger, "I'm your boyfriend. I want you to talk to me."
You nod knowing he is right, "Yeah, I'm sorry. I guess I just didn't know how to tell you."
Smiling he says, "You can always tell me."
Giving him a little smile back you reply, "I will."
🤖 Asahi
Mindlessly you click through the TV channels. Nothing good is on or well at least anything you currently want to watch. Groaning, you toss the remote down and reach your phone. There are a bunch of missed calls and messages from your friends. The thought of responding to them runs through your mind, but instead, you just swipe away the notifications.
One of them catches your eye though actually, two new messages do. Both are from your boyfriend so you skin over them.
Asahi
I'm coming over with food.
I'll be there in 10 minutes.
The messages were sent 10 minutes ago which means he'll be here any second. Just as you get up to look out the window to see if he's outside the bell to the door is already buzzing. Asahi doesn't even say hello as he walks in just walking to the table and setting down the food.
"Are you hungry?" He questions already opening up what looks like Bibimbap.
"Not feeling that hungry right now actually," you reply taking a seat across from him.
He stops adding the bean sprouts to his bowl, "If you're feeling down you should eat still."
"How did you know I wasn't in a good mood," you ask, surprised he was able to randomly guess how you were feeling.
He mixes up his bowl and without looking up replies, "I had a feeling so I brought you some comfort food and now I'm here to listen," he grabs a bit of food onto his spoon leaning over to bring it to you, "Now eat and tell me everything you have on your mind."
🦊 Yedam
Notes have to be the most boring thing in the world. You write them for hours only to study them and then take the quiz and nothing you wrote to be on the quiz. It's boring yet primitive to get through school.
Currently, you're at cram school, it's already 7 pm. Which isn't that late, but now you have a hand cramp from writing all day. Yedam wasn't able to join you today so here you sit face timing him instead.
"Korea is trying to kill me," you complain, placing your pencil down. You rub your eyes to stop from feeling sleepy.
"You only have 2 more pages to study," he says back.
"2 pages too many," you reply glaring at the textbook. The font is the size of an ant and it's history. Not even Korean history, world history about America, nothing fun at all.
"If you're like this I wonder how you studied back home."
"Back home I studied, but I only studied a few hours. Most of the time we had study guides so we knew what was on the test."
"Just think of this as a longer one than. It's just a self-written one with probably way more words."
You pout at the screen, "It still sucks. How am I supposed to remember all of this?"
"I'll help you study."
"No, you already have so much going on," you refuse.
"We can study together. It might actually help us. You can tutor me and vice versa," he suggests.
"Are you sure?"
"Why not. What could go so wrong?"
🐰 Doyoung
"Hot chocolate, coffee, or water?"
"What about a Vanilla Bean Frappe made with almond milk and a little caramel drizzle."
"I don't believe this is a Starbucks," he laughs.
"Then what is the point? It's either that or I'm going back to bed."
"Okay so you've decided to be grumpy today," he responds walking back into the living room.
"I've been grumpy all day. Which you would know if you weren't late today."
"Oh, so this is why you're mad," he replies, eyebrows raised.
"Not mad, 'grumpy'. I'm also extremely tired from staying up waiting for you," you say with a yawn following.
"Do you just want to go lay down?" He suggests.
You nod, "I want to take a nap while listening to sad music."
"Okay," he replies walking over to the couch to sit. He taps his lap, "Lay down here."
So you lay your hard down on his lap, "Where is my music?"
"Right away your majesty," he teases, pulling out his phone.
"Majesty?" You question, then you smirk, "I could get used to that."
🐏 Haruto
"I'm here."
You sit up wiping the tears from your face. You call back to the voice, "Bedroom."
A few shuffles are heard before your door opens. A concerned Haruto appears walking over to you, "Awee babe," He says so more tears come down your face. Arms wrap around you pulling you into a hug, "Are you okay?"
Shaking your head you place your head in his neck. Giving him a small reply of 'no' which has him holding you tighter.
"I'm here okay?" He comforts. Weakly you nod your head back.
"I'm getting you all wet."
"It's fine," he laughs lightly, "I wonder how bad today was for you to be this shaken up."
Burying your head deeper into his neck you sigh, "It was terrible."
"I bet. Look, we don't have to talk about it until you're ready."
"Okay."
🐺 Jeongwoo
"Why is she so annoying?" You groan.
"I don't even know who you are talking about."
"I told you that one girl at lunch, she keeps rolling her eyes at me. I haven't even talked to her before. I don't even know her name," you continue on.
"Okay slow down. When did she start this?"
You shrug, "It was so random. I was walking in line with some friends getting food and we made eye contact. Jeongwoo I've never seen this girl before yet she's so rude to me."
"Why does it matter then?"
"What do you mean?"
He sighs, "Well it's like you said, you don't know her. People are mean for no reason sometimes. Don't let it get to you."
You think it through knowing that he is right, "Still makes me mad."
"How about we go get some ice cream so you cool off?" He suggests.
"From the convenience store or Baskin Robbins?"
"Which one do you want?"
"Baskin Robbins. I'll pay, let's go!"
🐮 Junghwan
"I don't want to go."
Junghwan pouts, confused at the sudden change in your mood, "Why not? You've been wanting to go for weeks."
"I know just now I'm not interested anymore," you respond, crossing your arms.
Junghwan stops walking to pull you aside. He looks you up and down before asking, "You've been waiting for this shop to open up for months and now you don't wanna go. So can you tell me what's wrong?"
"It's nothing serious," you reply, uncrossing your arms. It doesn't seem to convince him because his eyebrows are still raised, "Fine there is a reason, but I don't wanna tell you."
"Why not?"
You shrug, "I don't wanna talk about it right now. We are in the middle of the street Junghwan."
"We are in a park," he points out, so you send him a small glare. He seems to get the message, "But I understand. Look we will do whatever you want today."
"Really?"
"Yeah, anything to make you happy again."

“How’s Danneel?” Jensen asked.
“Look boss, there’s no easy way to tell you this.” Benny says.
Misha enters to conversation, having finished with Y/N. “Dee’s fever keeps getting worse, though we keep lowering it as best we could, but it just keeps going up.” He explains.
“It’s odd, if the kids and her had the same shit, and the kids bounced back just fine. They’re with Gen by the way.” He explains, quickly adding. “But she just gets worse. And keeps getting worse no matter how hard we fight against it. And I’m running out of supplies.” He says.
“We got to find out quick, I’m not losing her either.” Jensen urges.
When Y/N woke up, Danneel was still fighting a fever.
She walked out of the infirmary feeling achy but better. She heads to the camp entrance to find Benny and Jensen standing watch.
“How long was I out?” she asks, startling them.
“Chic’s a silent walker.” Benny says, placing a hand over his own chest.
“Yeah she is.” Jensen says, walking over to her. Engulfing her in a hug.
“Thank god you’re okay.” He whispers.
“You were worried about me?” she asked.
“Of course, I am, you’re my friend. You had my back, saved me countless times.” He says.
Countless times? She wondered.
“How’s your wife?” she asked.
“She’s still fighting a fever. Her immune system is overrun by a virus. And they’re trying to find the right meds to fight it.” He says.
“Let me look at my map for check points, I have all kinds of markers on my map.” She says.
“Now, why do you have a special map and we don’t?” Benny asked.
“Because it’s where I’ve been. I’ve walked all the way up here from the states.” She says. “Been across my share of military base camps, medic camps, you name it, I’ve seen it.” she adds. As she digs in her pack to pull out a stack of maps. Labeling them as such, military, medical, food and shelters.
And she took Jensen’s map, being a map of the Vancouver area, mostly just the British Columbia territory.
She does the math, considering her maps are in states, and towns from where she’s visited. She needs to map out how far the trek would be.
She was doing the math in a cabin used for security. She comes out, looking not too happy, yet not too sure either.
“How bad?” Jensen asks.
“Well, do you want good news first or bad news?” she asked.
“Do they go hand in hand?” he asks. She nods. “Good news then.” Jensen says.
“Okay, I found a camp that is labeled to have meds, and supplies for CDC officials. They have camps all over the US.” She says.
“Bad news is, it’s far.” Jensen says. She nods, closing her eyes with a sigh.
“Yes, it’s about a week’s walk or more. But if I have a horse, or a car, I could get there faster.” She says.
“You’re not going alone.” Jensen says.
Considering walkers, raiders and cannibals, she needs someone to watch her back.
“Fine, but do we have that mode of transportation or not?” she asked.
“We kept the Impala, but there’s too high of a risk of it either attracting the wrong attention or attention period. Or it breaking down. It’s been acting up.” Benny says.
“I bet; you guys must have put some miles on it.” Y/N says.
“That we did.” Jensen says.
“There’s a Jeep in back, it’s new. One of the kids hijacked it and brought it here. You could use that.” Benny says.
“Okay, we need to pack and leave. Now. My wife can’t wait any longer.” Jensen urges.
“Already packed, let’s hit it.” Y/N says.
With the occasional off roading, she sped the whole way to the camp on the map.
The camp was, just outside of Seattle Washington. She made it within a day.
The camp came into view as they screeched to a halt.
“Grab all that you can, we’ll haul it in the Jeep.” Jensen says. Y/N nods.
They ran in the abandoned camp, going from tent to tent, building to building, grabbing jars of medicine, bandages, antiseptics, surgical supplies, even gowns and gloves. They made multiple trips, carrying arms full of loot.
They heard a hiss of a walker nearby.
Once they thing they got everything, the got in the Jeep and drove back to Vancouver.
The engine showing signs of overheating caused them to stop. They were still miles from the camp, but they weren’t about to carry all the medical supplies they looted.
Jensen parks the Jeep on the side of the road, turning off the lights so as to not draw attention to them. And prepares to keep watch as Y/N works at getting comfortable.
She kept tossing, not finding that sweet spot she could tolerate sleeping in.
“Sorry, this isn’t comfortable of place to stay.” Jensen says.
“It’s okay, it’ll still do. I’ll just wait a bit. Try to relax before I try to sleep.” She says.
“I just hope that this is enough to help her fight.” Jensen says.
“It is, I was grabbing some very wordy, and lengthy names of medicines, for some reason that told me it’ll help her. Just got to have faith Jensen. She’ll make it.” She says. “Besides…We pretty much cleared the camp and emptied it of everything.” She added. Jensen nods.
Lifting the center console to reveal a middle seat, he sits closer. She didn’t question it, she embraced him. She can feel him tremble at the thought of losing his wife. He just needed the assurance that she’ll be okay.
Jensen buried his face in the crook of her neck as they hugged, taking in her comfort.
When he pulls away slowly, his hand still by the nape of her neck, she sees him look at her lips. Then leans in slowly, hesitantly. And lightly brushes his lips along hers in a gentle kiss.
It took her a minute to register before she kissed him back.
They’re lips moved together in the kiss, as they poured out their love into it.
They were letting in breaths in through their noses as they continued, and deepening the kiss.
Jensen’s tongue brushing along her lip, asking for permission. She parts her lips, allowing him access.
He works her down onto her back, laying in the front seat of the Jeep. As their moment begins to build into something more.
The sun was about to rise when they decided it was time to hit the road.
Despite the pleasurable night, neither one got any shut eye. But felt rested and content. As they drove, Y/N sitting in the middle seat leaning into Jensen’s side as he drove.
Entering the complex with the supplies, they rushed to get Danneel the meds she desperately needs, and it quickly became a waiting game after the first few doses.
She just had sex with Jensen Ackles, how will Danneel react if she wakes up? Or was that just a heated moment? Her mind reeled at the thoughts and scenarios. But all she can do, is wait.
As the days passed, Danneel slowly improved.
And when she finally got the okay to go home she was eager to see Jensen again.
She saw him at his post, like always.
“Jensen?” she goes.
“Baby?” Jensen says, looking extremely happy she’s alive, healthy and awake.
He rushes to her and engulfs her in a big, tight hug.
“Jay, babe, I need to breathe.” Danneel says, after a while in his arms.
“Sorry, it’s just, I’ve come so close to losing you.” He says. “If it weren’t for Y/N, who drove me to keep looking for meds, you wouldn’t be awake right now.” He adds.
“Well then let me thank her too. She not only helped save me, but she kept my man sane.” She says.
“Think Misha has her out on a hunt, she should be back soon.” Jensen says. “She took Jared’s place.” He adds.
“Oh, where is he?” Danneel asked.
“On our trip back, he was scratched by a walker. He…died.” Jensen says, feeling remorseful looking back on that day.
“How’d Gen take it?” She asked.
“Not well, but she’s doing better. Y/N and I have been keeping an eye on her. Y/N’s been looking after the kids when she can.” Jensen says.
“This Y/N, she sounds quiet the character.” Danneel says.
“We’re back!” They heard from the trail. “And we got the good stuff in the way of food and clothes.” Y/N says leading her pack back.
“I’ll take the food over at Mass Hall.” Rob says, carrying a few of the boxes as he lead a few guys carrying food to said Mass Hall.
“And Benny and Jensen, weapons.” Y/N says, pointing to the Jeep, loaded to the brim with ammo crates, boxes of all kinds of weapon goodness.
“We’d be lost without her and her map.” Benny says as he checks in the weapons.
“And medical?” Jensen asked.
“Of course medical, I already brought it to the medical supply camp back there.” She says.
“Hi Danneel.” Y/N says, noticing she’s up and at them. “Nice to see you awake. Jensen wouldn’t stop worrying, I kept telling him you were fine.” She says.
“I’m glad you’ve been keeping him sane for the time being.” She says.
“Any word from Gen?” Y/N asks Jensen.
“She’s fine today, maybe watch our kids for Danneel. I don’t get off till late.” Jensen says.
“Will do.” Y/N says.
“I’ll walk you to the cabin.” Danneel says. Leading the way.
That night, Y/N and Danneel just talked and talked as they watched the kids play and be kids from the front porch of their cabin, sitting on an outdoor couch. Danneel learned of what they did on their ventures. And how close Jensen came to dying due to the gun shot injury.
Even their moment on the drive back.
“I didn’t want to say anything, but, I’m not all for keeping secrets. It’s worse if you’ve kept it and they are just now discovering it in the most wrong way possible or worse if it’s years in the future.” Y/N explained.
“It’s okay, I’m not mad.” Danneel says.
“Y-…You’re not?” Y/N asked, confused. “Most women when they find out their man did that, they’d be pissed.” She adds.
“For some reason I’m not.” She says. “And the more I hang out with you the more comfortable I am with you, it’s like…It’s like I’m falling for a girl, which hardly ever happens. Last girl I had a crush on tried to use me.” She adds.
“Oh, well I’m not all about that. And I’m flattered you like me. I like you too actually.” Y/N says.
Danneel smiles, and rests her head on Y/N’s shoulder.
“If we continued this, would it be weird if…a married couple, such as ourselves, ever loved someone else. Like, make it a poly-relationship?” Danneel asked.
“Maybe to some. But I’m not weirded out by it, oddly enough. I guess as long as it’s something all three of us would want.” Y/N says. “And if all three of us, really loved each other.” She adds.
“My guts saying to do it.” Danneel says.
“Then lets. I mean, I feel like Jensen, like, I know his feelings toward me. I mean a few nights ago, that told me a lot. And if you want to try it, and I want to try it. Then I say let’s do it.” Y/N explains.
Danneel looks up at Y/N from where she sat, resting her head on her shoulder. Y/N returns the soft and content look. And Danneel takes that chance and delivers a gentle kiss.
Y/N quickly returns the kiss and the girls sat there, kissing sweetly until they hear a groan near them.
Jensen had quietly walked up the stairs to their porch, off duty, expressing how turned on he was with the dark expression in his eyes.
“That was so hot.” Jensen moans. As he takes two easy strides to his girls, kissing both sweetly on the lips.
“Something tells me, daddy’s wanting some.” Danneel says, with a devilish grin.
“And daddy want’s doubles.” Jensen says, turning to Y/N.
“Let’s get the kids in, it’s getting late.” Y/N says with a smile as Jensen kisses her neck. Giggling when his lips gently suck on her pulse point. Only to turn into a moan when he doesn’t stop sucking and biting the patch of skin.
“And inside we go.” Danneel goes, break them up and guiding them inside.

DOS: Caught in a Storm (Dragoness X Dragoness/Reader) {100k special)
Chapter summary: You are a snow furdrake living in the North Pole. It’s almost time for you to hibernate and so you must catch your last meal before winter. While travelling to the hunting grounds, you get caught in a blizzard with an arrogant ice dragon.
Requested on Wattpad
Pt. 1 of 100k special, Pt. 2 (Wings of Fire)
I trotted through the white landscape, cold air whipping at my white fur. Hibernation was right around the corner for me, and I needed to find some food. So I made the most of what sunlight the North Pole is getting at the moment and went hunting.
I lowered my head to the ground, sniffing for any trails. Nothing.
I looked up. Looming in the horizon was a dark open sea and several icebergs, but directly ahead of me was a snowy valley with a drop so deep I’d have to climb down the walls of ice. I walked over to the edge of the cliff and looked down.
The snow far below blended in with the snow beneath my claws, looking like I could walk right onto it without falling hundreds of metres.
But I knew otherwise.
I looked at my claw and flexed it, watching my sharp talons clink together. I nodded approvingly and bent over, my front claws gripping the ice. Shimming my legs closer to the edge, I gripped the ice. I edged my way down the wall, my claws gripping the ice easily; as every snow furdrake’s should. The problem was keeping my balance, so I didn’t fall forward and injure myself.
I had grown used to this climb to the icebergs; I did it at least twice a month when the fishing hole is frozen over. But it was still inconvenient.
Above me, I heard heavy wingbeats. I looked up. An ice dragon flew above me, gliding effortlessly over the valley while I climbed.
I followed them as they flew, a pang of jealousy running through me.
“Why couldn’t the Creators give us wings as well?” I muttered to myself as I continued my descent. Snow furdrakes have always been jealous of ice dragons because of this. The dragons never had to hibernate, they lived in groups—or clans as they called them, and they had the mighty wings so they could soar over these mighty valleys and swoop down into the ocean to catch prey we would spend hours hunting and wounding. And what really got under our fur was how easy it was for them to do it.
On the upside, at least we can swim well in water, we can hold our breaths for hours at a time, we can see in the dark and our paws are wide so we don’t sink into the snow, unlike certain dragons.
It was a long climb, but I eventually my head was right above the valley floor. I detached from the wall and stood on the snow. The wind had gotten stronger since I had been on top of the wall, and the sky had gotten darker.
“Great,” I spat. I huffed and ran to the other side of the valley. There was a small cave at the base of the cliff. Usually, other furdrakes are there, but today it was empty. I shivered as the strong wind carried snow into the frozen cave.
In the middle of the snow was a blue, enchanted flame that would never go out to keep any visitors warm and so the cave wouldn’t freeze over. There was a small cranny to the side with a small enchanted chest. Anytime a furdrake went hunting, they’d grab something extra to leave in the chest so others could eat if they were stranded here. And the chest was enchanted to keep the food as fresh as possible.
I settled down beside the fire, curling up and watching the flames flicker as the wind grew stronger. A blizzard was whipping up.
I dropped my ears and looked in frightened awe. “That better have passed by morning.” I knew I shouldn’t have left my last hunt of the season so close to hibernation. I thumped my tail against the snow in frustration before wrapping it close to me.
Then a yelp sounded.
I jolted up. “Hello!” I called. I scanned through the lashing snow. If another furdrake was stuck in this frozen valley and during a storm, I’d have to help them.
As if to answer my call, a dragon fell from the sky. She had snow-white scales, blue-green underbelly and wings, turquoise horns, blue-green-dipped tail and black-dipped spikes on her back. The dragoness rose to her feet and kept her wings close to herself, shaking the snow off her scales.
I edged towards her; she hadn’t noticed me yet. She crouched and opened her wings, about to take off.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” I warned from the mouth of the cave.
She glanced at me and stood up, walking closer. She looked at me, disgusted. “And what would you know, Furry Lizard?” she spat, looming over me; another thing I hated about ice dragons.
I ignored her insult. “I’ve seen enough of ice dragons get thrown around in a blizzard to know that you, miss, will not make it out without having a wing and your gorgeous spikes broken.”
She clenched her jaw and thought. She snorted, dusting my fur with frost. “Of course. I knew that, Furry Lizard.”
“My name’s, (Y/N),” I informed, shaking the frost from my snout.
“Neige,” she replied, sitting by the fire.
I shuffled over to my spot and sat neatly, watching my talons reflect the fire. “Were you flying to or from the sea, Neige?”
Neige made a snobby noise and sat down. “To the sea, to catch a nice, fat walrus.” she tended to her scales, shining them up after her crash-landing.
“So am I. I might catch a seal or two and some fish. Then I’ll be going home to hibernate,” I said, watching as her scales gleamed and glow in the fire.
She hummed. She wasn’t listening.
“So, where do you live?”
“West,” she replied, pausing from her bath, “in the mountain by the fishing hole.”
I didn’t live far from there, in the side of another mountain near the fishing hole, but I was sure she lived right beside it. “Guess we’re neighbours then,” I said flatly, lying down. I thought back to all the times I’d lost fish and seals to an ice dragon. I wondered if she was ever one of them.
“Small world, I guess. My sire’s the alpha of the clan. And I’m(i) his eldest dragonet.”
“Good for you,” I said sincerely. I curled my tail close to me. I could feel myself growing tired as the wind howled. “Well, goodnight, Neige.” I yawned and curled up,
*-*-*-*
I was oddly warm when I woke up and all was black. I slowly shifted, feeling something heavy on top of me.
I poked at it. It was thin but weighty.
I rolled onto my belly and crouched before jumping up, throwing whatever it was off me. Turquoise and white flashed as I jumped.
It was Neige’s wing!
“What is it?” she said, jolting up into a defensive crouch.
I sat on my hind legs. “Why were you around me?”
“I wasn’t!” Neige said defensively. “You—you must have moved close to me—Yes! You must have cuddled up to me because you were cold during the night.” She sat down and thumped her tail as if to add “and that’s final”.
I couldn’t help but smile. I looked at where I had woken you; exactly where I had fallen asleep the night before. “How would I have been cold? I’m covered in fur, I don’t feel the cold,” I sat neatly, my tail around my talons. “Besides, I haven’t moved all night.” I pointed to the indentation in the snow. “Unless you were cold and moved over beside me,” I smirked at her.
Neige scowled at me.
I shrugged. “But as neither of us remembers how this happened, I guess we’ll leave the talon pointing and get some food.” I looked out of the cave. The snow had stopped falling, but the wind was still whipping through the valley. I sighed and walked over to the chest.
Inside were several fish and cuts of seal meat.
“Are you hungry?” I asked Neige.
“I guess so,” she replied, edging towards me.
I picked up a fish and left the chest open for her. She took out a piece of seal meat and we sat by the fire.
It was a long day in the cave with Neige, watching the storm die down. She wasn’t very talkative, but when she talked, it was about herself, and her clan, and how great ice dragons were. I smiled and nodded, agreeing with her and making tiny inputs about snow furdrakes; it was best not to argue with her arrogance and pride.
We were stuck in the cave until the next day. It was still dark when I woke up, as I expected it to be with it being winter.
I unfurled myself and looked out at the still snow.
“Neige,” I hissed, getting up. “Neige, look!”
Neige groaned, her head under her wing. She was lying beside me again. For a species so ‘great’, they got cold easily.
“Neige!” I poked her shoulder. “The blizzard is over!”
She sighed and raised her head. She got to her feet. “Finally!” she breathed. “Well, it’s been nice, Furry Lizard, but I’ve gotta go.” She bound out of the cave and leapt into the sky.
I walked out of the cave, watching her leave. “Bye,” I said, but I was sure she wouldn’t hear. I sighed sadly; she was so pretty, and the company was nice. “Maybe I’ll see her again,” I mused. But I was lying to myself.
I looked at the wall of ice in front of me and climbed it. Climbing up was easier than climbing down, as less care is needed to hold my balance. It wasn’t long before I reached the top. And all that was ahead was flat, downhill terrain.
I sprinted ahead towards the dark sea and icebergs. I could see Neige’s silhouette flying ahead. Far ahead.
Eventually, I reached the edge of the icy and I was looking down at my darkened reflection. I stood there panting after my long run. When I was ready, I crouched, drew in a long draught of air and—.
“Damnit!” a dragoness roared.
I looked to where the roar came from. It was Neige. she was wet and clinging to the side of an iceberg. She spat a chunk of ice at the water and leaped off the iceberg and into the sky.
I sighed. She would catch nothing that way. I wanted to help her, but she was too mad and impatient to even listen to me. So I crouched again, took a deep breath and hopped into the water. Everything was quiet as the water surrounded me and my night vision kicked in.
It wasn’t long until I was swimming after two seals. Neige interrupted me twice, but in the end, I succeeded and dragged them both onto an iceberg.
I sat proudly by my catch, eyeing Neige as she continued to dive into the water to catch something. Each time she was unsuccessful.
I concluded that was too busy to notice me and so I dived back into the water. I caught two eelpouts and three Arctic cods.
When I came back to my iceberg, I saw Neige sitting on the edge of the iceberg. I hopped up onto the ice and dropped my fish by my seals. I growled at her. “Don’t even think about it,” I warned, standing above my meal. I needed this so I could sleep all winter long.
Neige stood up. “I’m not here for your food. But I need to bring back something. So... can you help me?” She looked at her claws, ashamed. “Please.”
This was the nicest I had ever seen her. “What exactly do you want me to find? I haven’t seen any walrus’ today.”
“Anything. Something big. A seal or a...” Neige looked to my catch, “that yellow and brown one. The big fish.”
“Eelpout,” I informed. I looked off into the distance, towards my home. I could see another storm gathering. “OK. but if you eat any of my catch—,” my stomach growled, finishing my sentence.
“I won’t, I promise.” She bowed.
I nodded and drew in another breath before diving back into the water. I tracked down a seal and eelpout, but I could only get the fish. I dragged it back to the iceberg, dropped it by her claws.
“Wow, that was quick,” Neige said with a hint of amazement. “Thank you.”
I sat down and picked up a fish. “You’re welcome.”
“Will you give me some pointers?”
*-*-*-*
I tore at my last seal as I lay on my cave floor. I had dragged most of my catch home, so it’d be easier to fall asleep after. The cods I had left in the ice cave in the valley and carried the seals in my mouth and the fish in my claw.
But now I was quite comfortable, tearing away at my feast before my long, long sleep.
And then there was Neige. She was much too pretty to forget about. I knew she’d be OK after I taught her some techniques to catch food, but she still plagued my mind. In a good way.
I missed her broody, arrogant voice, her sparkling scales and the warmth of her wings.
the wind howled outside, and a yell echoed into my cave.
I licked my bloody lips and stood up, my talons clinking against the ice floor. I peered out; the wind yanking my head off to one direction. Below me I saw blue-green flash between a mass of snow.
“Up here!” I yelled. I crouched and ran down to the dragon—only ice dragons had colourful hides. “Over here!” I shouted as I got closer, at the base of the mountain.
They looked to me, their dark horns facing me.
“Get low! and follow my voice!”
I saw their horns and wings lower, and I guided them up to my cave.
“Thank you,” she panted, sitting by the mouth of my cave.
“Neige?” I asked, looking back at her.
“Hey, (Y/N),” Neige breathed. she looked at my cave. “Nice home you’ve got. Humble.”
“You remember my name!” I beamed.
“Yes, I did,” she chuckled.
I looked over to what I left of the seal. “Do you want some?”
“Please,” Neige breathed.
I sat back and let her eat, watching the blizzard pick up outside. It made me dizzy seeing it fall at such a rate.
I walked over to my bed of bison and polar bear fur and curled up.
“You’re falling asleep now?” Neige asked, sounding mystified.
“Uh-huh,” I yawned. “I’ve had my feast, so it’s time to sleep.” I licked off my fur, making sure it was clean. I yawned again.
“But,”—she looked out at the storm—“what am I supposed to do?”
I shrugged. “Leave when the blizzard passes, I guess.” My eyelids were getting heavy. “Neige?”
“Yeah, (Y/N)?”
“Will you visit me after winter?”
“Can I visit you while you hibernate?”
I smiled. “I won’t be much company. But sure, if you want.”
Neige came over to me as I closed my eyes. “Sleep well, (Y/N).” She nuzzled me.
I moaned softly and fell sound asleep.
*-*-*-*
I felt warm and hungry, and my cave was quiet.
Until I heard breathing.
I opened my eyes slowly, spring sunlight pouring into my cave. Water dripped around the cave as the winter ice and frost melted.
I lifted my head, feeling something heavy on my back shift. Looking over my shoulder, I saw a blue-green-scaled wing and the glimmer of white scales. I looked beside me, seeing Neige’s snoozing body beside me. It was a surprise, but a nice one.
My stomach growled loudly, stirring Neige from her sleep.
I nuzzled her, cooing.
Neige opened her eyes and looked to me. “You’re awake!” she beamed. She looked away and dropped her excited tone. “I mean, it’s good to see you... awake, I mean.”
I smiled shyly. “Have you been staying in my cave, keeping me warm?” I asked flirtatiously.
Neige snorted. “No! I was just making sure no one bothered you while you slept,” she said assertively.
“And why would an ice dragon bother a sleeping snow furdrake?”
She looked down at me, thinking of a response.
I smiled cheekily. “But I’m glad you stayed.” I lifted my head as high as I could and kissed her cheek. “I like your company.”

A movie night part 5  - J. Maddison
Sorry for the long wait, totally forgot I had written this already! 💙
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4
@chilly-me-softly @silvastar9 @cam-blog98 @footballffbarbiex @footballdaydream
“No, mummy don’t go.” Your little boy starts crying hugging your legs. “Ohh baby.” You sigh moving your hands through his hair, your heart breaking by the sight in front of you. “I want to stay with you.” The little one says not letting go of you. “James, a little bit of help here.” You say loud enough for him to hear as he was talking with his mother. “Little on, mummy and I will be with you again very soon.” James says kneeling down moving his hand up and down the little ones back. “No.” The little one says shaking his head. “Hey, this is not how we want you to behave now that you will become a big brother.” James says looking up at you for a second, the little boy moving away from your legs. “I want to come.” He says silently wrapping his arms around James when he picks him up.
“Baby, you can’t.” You say looking at him. “Daddy and I don’t know exactly when your little sister will come.” You try to explain why he has to stay with James parents already. “What if she wants to come in the middle of the night? And we can’t bring you here anymore, you will be all alone in the hospital, waiting.” You add and the little one looks at you all interesting. “I don’t want you to be alone, that makes me sad.” You smile wiping the tears from his cheeks. “I want you to be here, and have fun, play as much as you can.”
“And when your little sister is born you will be the first one we call.” James says smiling to you for a second as the little boy stopped crying. “Exactly.” You smile kissing the boys cheek a couple of times, the little boy giggling from it. “Can you put me to bed?” He asks silently. “Yes I can.” You smile taking him from James, even if James had insisted you not to carry the boy anymore ever since your bump grew bigger. “Goodnight daddy.” The little boy smiles waving to him as you carried him to the guest room.
“Okay, he is asleep, we can leave.” You say once entering the livingroom again after an hour. “Thank you again for keeping him.” You smile to James parents as they tell you it wasn’t that big of a deal, hoping your baby girl will be arriving very soon. After you all said your goodbyes you and James got back in the car, James mood not as happy as he was before.
“What did I do this time?” You ask looking at him for a second. “I have told you so many times, do you even care?” He just asks looking at the streets. “What? Are you mad because I carried my son to bed?” You ask surprised, not believing the question you just asked. “Yes, actually I am.” He simply nods. “Well, I am sorry that it breaks my heart whenever I have to tell him no, I haven’t put him to bed in weeks.” You sigh still looking at him as he just parks the car and gets out. “James.” You say walking after him inside of the house.
...
You didn’t expect your little girl coming this soon but exactly two days after you brought your little boy away, your little girl was ready to be born. The drive to the hospital was quick since the road wasn’t busy in the middle of the night, your little girl choosing to be born at the exact time as your little boy. The moment your little girl was layed down in James arms, you fell asleep immediatly. The birth tiring you completely and since James told you to have some sleep, you decided to finally listen to him for once. James spending the rest of the night taking care of the little girl, only waking you up whenever a nurse came to check on you and the new born.
The morning came pretty quickly after as you woke up because of a nurse entering the room. “Morning.” A cheerful smile filled the room and you smiled yourself looking over at the little girl sleeping in her hospita crib. “Morning.” You say with a smile, soft snoring coming from James who was sleeping in the chair that stood next to your hospital bed. “Ohh the daddy had night watch?” The nurse smiles as you nod with a laugh, the little girl being put in your arms by the nurse, a heated bottle of milk handed to you as well. “I will bring breakfast for the both of you then.” She adds leaving you to feed the little girl. “Thank you.” You say with a smile, the little girl being held close against you while she was drinking from the bottle.
You and James had the breakfast together, the little girl sleeping again in her crib. “My mum is coming today, she said that our son hasn’t shut up about his sister since she told him.” James says sipping from his coffee. “Ohh, I missed that little one so much, really.” You say with a huge smile. “I sometimes wonder who I love the most, you or your mini version.” You say with a giggle, a kiss shared between you and James. “Believe me, I will always love you, my daughter and my son evenly as much.” James smiles. “My little family.” He adds looking at the door once he heard a knock on it. “Come in.” He says loud enough for the people to hear, silent enough not to wake up the little girl.
“Mummy, daddy.” A very recognising voice echoes through the room, your little boy running towards you. “Hi little one.” You smile widely, wrapping the boy in your arms when James helped him onto the bed. “I have missed you mummy.” The boy says leaning close against you. “I missed you too.” You whisper kissing his head, a smile on your face as James parents were congratulating him. “Mummy, where is your bump?” He asks surprised looking at your stomach. “It’s gone baby, because your sister is here now.” You explain the little boy looking around the room.
“Do you want to meet your little sister?” James asks, the little girl already in his arms as he walks closer to the bed. The little boy was smiling, leaning against you as he sat on your legs, James taking a seat on the edge, moving closer towards you. “She’s small.” The boy says looking at the little girl in his daddies arms. “And beautiful.” He adds, a huge smile on yours and James face as the little girl wrapped her tiny fingers around the little boys finger.
James mum had snapped some pictures of the cute scenario happening in front of her. One picture eventually posted on yours and James Instagram, the same caption announcing the birth of your daughter:
Our family is complete now 💙

Chapter 50 : His chapter
NIALL
I heard her wake up all night and every single time, I waited until she was asleep again to do the same. She was not sick often, except for migraines, but this time, it was bad enough for her to beg me to stay with her the next day. She turned around in bed and wrapped one of her arms around my waist, making me smile as she groaned.
"Please don't leave me alone here all day."
I brought my hand to her face, caressing her cheek gently before pushing a lock of hair behind her ear.
"You want me to stay here with you and watch you snore all day?" I joked, smiling more when I saw her nose raise up in a grimace.
"Yes." she let out firmly with a baby voice, making me chuckle this time.
"You're such a child, I swear!"
I felt her grip tighten around my waist and I rolled my eyes with a smile. I had no idea why but I actually enjoyed the fact that she needed me so bad. Our relationship was just getting better and I didn't want things to change. She was still insecure and I was still not totally good at not making her jealous but we managed and we were both making efforts, which was the best we could expect from each other.
I never thought it would be so tough to date my best friend. I didn't regret it, but I was still unsure of so many things that sometimes, I ended up backing away from her and hurting her. That's when she'd become even more insecure and we would just end up being trapped in a vicious circle. The fact that I was so busy was an obstacle to our relationship too. Every free moment I had, I would spend with her and I couldn't hide the fact that I missed hanging out with my friends, spending a day playing golf or just having some time for myself.
"Please, Nee."
"You're warm... you clearly have fever." I pointed out, pressing my palm on her cheek. "You need to get in the shower, darling. Stay under the lukewarm stream for about minute and come back in bed.”
"Mm no, it's too cold."
"You may feel cold but you're burning." I explained. "Come on, do that and i'll make you some tea."
"And stay here today?"
Her eyes were now half opened and she was looking up at me through her eyelashes. She was pretty and endearing and it brought an other smile to my lips.
"And stay here today."
Her lips curled and I bent down to kiss the top of her head before pulling the covers away from her. She groaned but finally let go of me to get up slowly. She took her shirt off, her back facing me, and I stared at her as she did the same with her panties. I knew she was sick but that didn't mean I couldn't enjoy the view.
"Hurry up." I said, smacking her bum playfully and making her jump a bit.
"Be nice! I'm siiiick!" she complained again before walking to the bathroom.
When I heard the shower, I got up but stopped myself and sighed, picking up her dirty clothes and throwing them in the laundry basket. I searched through my things and put one of my shirts on the bed along with a pair of boxers and finally walked out of the room to reach the kitchen.
As I waited for the water to boil, I grabbed my phone and sent a text message saying I was taking a day off and just turned it off to be sure not to be disturbed. I walked upstairs with her tea and put it on the bedside table right before going to the bathroom. I rolled my eyes when I saw her soaked towel laying on the floor and cleaned the shower a bit before doing the same with the sink.
"You left your towel on the floor, Liv. Again." I complained before realizing she was already asleep.
I sighed and closed my eyes, knowing she was sick and it was wrong of me to be mad for that, but it was not only on that day, it was all the time. I never thought it would be so tough for someone as clean as me to live with someone as messy as she was. Sometimes, it was driving me insane.
I let her sleep for a while and ate toasts and eggs for breakfast before washing the dishes and going to sit on the couch to watch the golf channel. Staying home got me slightly bored and after a while, I grabbed my notebook and started scribbling a few words, feeling suddenly inspired for a new song. I didn't know how much time passed since I was concentrated on my writing but she finally appeared from the hall. Her hair was a mess and she was yawning but despite all this, my lips curled at her sight.
"Come here, are you hungry?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.
She walked up to me, her feet brushing against the carpet, and let herself fall on the couch next to me. As soon as her ass hit the couch, she cuddled me, curling up against me, her leg over my thigh and her head leaning on my shoulder.
"Have you ever heard of personal space?" I joked with a chuckle.
"I'm part of your personal space, Horan."
I laughed at her words, knowing she was going say those exact words since it's always what she answered me. I liked the degree of intimacy we had reached but I realized we had it even before we started dating.
"Oh yea?"
"Oh yea."
I laughed and kissed the top of her head again, pushing my notebook away and sitting better on the couch so we could be more comfortable. We remained in silence for a while until I sighed low.
"Are you hungry, do you want something to eat?"
She grimaced and groaned, shaking her head.
"You're gonna have to eat, you know." I pointed out, wrapping my arm around her shoulders and pulling her close.
"But i'm siiiiiick!"
"Told ya not to go out without a sweater. It's getting colder, especially at night."
She groaned again and buried her face in my neck.
"You're such a mom." she mumbled against my skin, making me laugh.
"And you're such a child." I replied for the second time that day.
I felt her lips brush against my neck and it made goosebumps appear on my skin. I brought my hand to her back and caressed her over her shirt to soothe her and after a while, she let out a low whimper that made me smile. She was still a bit warm, probably a sign that the fever was slowly coming back, and I finally got up quickly.
"Okay, enough." I let out, looking down at her as she sent me puppy eyes. "Soup for you, and meds, and then you rest."
"Nooo no no no!" she argued in a begging voice.
I pretended I didn't hear and just laughed as I walked to the kitchen to make some soup. When I came back, I noticed she was playing a video game on the tv and rolled my eyes with a smile. She had been a bit obsessed with Mario Kart recently and I just put the soup on the coffee table before going to the bathroom, looking through my stuff to find something against the flu. I got back with pills and a water bottle and she put her remote down to swallow the pills I gave her. I glanced at the tv and smiled.
"You know if I play with you, you won't be first in any of the races?" I pointed out with a laugh as she started eating.
She looked up at me and chuckled before grabbing an other remote and handing it to me, staring in my eyes with a small smirk.
"Don't hold back and cry."
"Challenge accepted."
We started playing and I tried hitting her gently with my elbow from time to time to distract her. She kept laughing whether she was winning or losing and that was something I loved about her. She didn't care if she won or not, she just wanted to have fun. We joked a lot about who was the best but in the end, It never really mattered to us as long as we had a good time together.
"Ex eaquo." she let out, putting the remote on the coffee table before turning to me and crossing her legs on the couch.
"Fair enough." I laughed a bit but it faded away quick enough.
She tilted her head while staring at me and I could swear her eyes fluttered. She sent me a warm and fond smile and it made me smile back. There was always something in the way she looked at me... something that made me wonder how I missed all the love in her eyes for all these years.
"Thank you for staying home today." she started, making the left corner of my lips raise up again. "Thank you for taking care of me."
"You don't have to thank me, I knew I was staying home with you the first time you woke up in the middle of the night. You didn't even have to do all that begging this morning."
She chuckled and raised her shoulders up and bit her bottom lip.
"Are you gonna take care of me like that when we'll be old? When our kids are out of the house, when there will be only us two again, when I can barely walk?"
My smile fell slightly and it hit me suddenly that she had thought about our future when It never really crossed my mind. It's not that I didn't want to, I just didn't know what I wanted. I preferred to live one day at a time instead to plan years ahead. I stared at her a few seconds, blinking a few times and trying to hide the fact that my heart was beating harder and faster suddenly. I didn't want to hurt her, I've hurt her enough for a few lifetimes already, so I just sent her a smile.
"Come here." I whispered, opening my arms.
Immediately, she moved closer and I wrapped my arms around her, holding her tight against me. I felt her lips travel again on my neck and up to my jaw.
"Will you?" she insisted in a murmur, making me press my lips together.
I turned my head her way and looked down, my eyes roaming on her face. I brought my hand to her cheek and let my fingers graze her skin softly. I picked my words carefully and licked my lips.
"I promise i'll always be there for you."
                                                           ----
"Are you sure you don't want me to stay?" I asked, raising my eyebrows as I looked at her.
I wanted to go out, I wanted to go for a few pints with my friends, and I didn't want to stay between these damn four walls tonight, but I still asked her.
"No, of course not, i'm fine!" she argued with a smile, grabbing her tissue box and bringing it on her lap. "I'll watch a few movies and go to bed so stay as late as you want."
"If you need me just call or text okay?" I proposed, putting my phone in my pocket. "It's on vibe, i'll feel it."
"Then I may just text you a lot." she joked with a laugh, making me chuckle too.
The discussion we had had in the afternoon had left me with a bittersweet feeling. For some reason, it made me want to run away so when my cousin called for an evening at the pub, I couldn't say no. I loved Olivia, I knew I did, but this whole thing was a bit too much for me and I didn't know what to think and how to feel anymore. She told me herself after all, didn't she? Love is not all you need, no matter what we've been told.
Apparently, a bunch of people I knew and didn't know were invited and I took a seat next to Louis who pushed a pint in front of me. I grabbed it and after a few seconds, I had swallowed half of it.
"Mate, you alright?"
I glanced at him and shrugged, focusing on the glass in my hands as I turned it slowly. I didn't want to share my feelings and thoughts with him if only because he was so close to my girlfriend now that it would make things awkward. It's not that I didn't trust him but I didn't want to put him in a position where he'd have to keep secrets from her or feel bad to be around her.
"Just tired." I lied with a shrug.
"Liv's still sick?"
"Yea, t'was worse this morning but she wasn't really in the mood to come."
"Legit."
I felt someone sit next to me and without thinking, I turned my head only to face one of the most gorgeous girls I had ever seen. She smiled more, maybe because of the way I was looking at her, and extended her hand to me after pushing a lock of her dark hair behind her shoulder.
"Hey, i'm Gia."
"Niall." I replied, shaking her hand slightly.
"I know."
I sent her a smile and my eyes moved down to check her out until I felt Louis nudge me on the side to get my attention. My eyes lingered for an other second on the pretty girl and I finally turned back to my friend who was raising his eyebrows at me.
"You're drooling." he pointed out in a low tone.
I could hear a hint of blame in his voice and groaned low. I knew I shouldn't be flirting but it seemed like I hadn't done something like this in years. I was not used to hold back, I was not used to stop myself from doing what I wanted... I was not used to be in a real relationship, or at least not for that long. Louis stared at me for a few more seconds before moving closer to me.
"Don't do that, Niall." he let out in a sad tone. "I promise it's not worth it."
I sighed low and nodded slowly before he sent me a small smile and got up. I watched him leave and was ready to do the same when I felt a hand on my arm and stopped moving completely. I felt a shiver run up my spine but it was more because of the thrill than because of her touch.
"Are you leaving already?"
I stared at her for a few seconds before sitting back down. I should leave, every fiber of my body was telling me to run away and go back to Olivia, but I couldn't. Instead, I remained quiet for a few seconds and finally smiled more.
"No, i'm staying."
We talked for a while and the way she looked at me made me believe I could bring her home if I wanted. I kept thinking about Liv but tried to push the thought away when a feeling of guilt would invade me. I was not really doing anything, and I didn't plan to do anything, but I couldn't pretend it didn't bother me that I couldn't enjoy this a bit more. I swallowed my third beer and chuckled at something moderately funny she said.
"Look, Gia, I need to tell you something." I let out, licking my lips. "I already have a girlfriend."
"Oh I know, and I don't care." she admitted with a shrug as she laughed again. "Heidi told me it was not serious."
"Heidi?" I asked with a frown, looking around the table to finally meet her eyes.
She sent me a smirk and I felt suddenly totally stupid. Did Heidi do that on purpose? Was I just fooled like a fucking loser? I turned back to Gia and sent her a smile, shaking my head.
"Was nice meeting you, but I need to go now."
I pushed my chair and got up but she grabbed my wrist and it felt wrong. I could feel the way Olivia wrapped her fingers gently around my wrist sometimes and my heart skipped a beat as I took my hand back, feeling Gia's fingers slide on my skin and making me grimace. It was ridiculous. I was ridiculous and no matter what excuses came to my mind, I was the only one to blame.
"Don't leave, I really don't care that you have a girlfriend."
I sighed again but louder this time and bent down to look in her eyes.
"I do."
I walked away in the direction of the door and glared at Heidi for a few seconds. Quickly, she jumped off her chair and followed me.
"Niall." she said, making an annoying noise with her heels on the wood floor. "Niall!"
She grabbed my arm and made me stop walking. I turned around and shook my head at her, talking before she could say anything.
"You set this up?" I asked, a bit mad. "You asked this girl to come and flirt with me to see if i'd cheat on my girlfriend? What kind of fucking sicko are you?"
"No!" she frowned, shaking her head a bit too quickly. "She said she thought you were sexy and I said you were taken but it wasn't anything serious, that's it!"
"Heidi, I've literally been dating Olivia for almost a year, how can this not be serious?"
She stared at me and raised her eyebrows, taking a lock of her hair and twisting it around one of her fingers. I remembered she always did that whenever she wanted us to have sex and took a step back without realizing it.
"Didn't seem serious when your eyes were literally glued to Gia's cleavage."
I closed my eyes, knowing she was right and swallowed hard.
"You got me there, i'm human." I let out, pressing my lips together as I felt anger invade my insides. I just wasn't sure if I was mad at Heidi or at myself. Maybe a bit of both. "A sad, poor excuse of one, but a human being nonetheless."
"Oh please, Niall." she added, rolling her eyes. "You're 23, it's not like you were going to spend your life with her. I mean okay, she's your best friend so this little masquerade you're doing lasts a little longer. I know you don't want to hurt her but seriously? Can you imagine having sex only with her for the rest of your life? Get married? Have kids? You're not ready for that, Niall."
She looked at me in an amused way and chuckled meanly, putting her hands on her waist. I hated her words and felt something burn inside me. I hated it because every single word she said seemed so true it made me want to puke. I was not ready, no matter what I tried to make myself or even Olivia believe. Clearly, my girlfriend was a step ahead in our relationship and it was scaring me. I was not going to let Heidi know, though, simply because it was none of her business.
"You have no idea what you're talking about." I just said rudly, walking past her and reaching the door.
She followed me quickly but remained close to the door as I walked out.
"I'm right and you know it, Niall!"
I stopped and turned around, walking back quickly to her suddenly angrier than ever.
"I love her! I'm in love with her!" I could feel my hands shake and I placed them into fists as I tried not to let anger consume me.
"Oh sure you do. But you two started dating too fast. You clearly got a lot left to live and you're too young to settle forever." she explained with a small shrug.
The fact that she remained so calm annoyed me and I groaned low, raising my nose up. Why was I even listening to her anyway? I should go back to Olivia and make sure she was okay. I should get a cab and go back home to join her in bed and cuddle her. But what I shouldn’t do is stay there, in the cold, listening to a girl I thought was my friend tell me that the relationship I have with my girlfriend was a mistake.
"And if you need me to help you relax, she let out, taking a step closer and running her hand on my chest. "I'm always here, whether you're still dating her or not.”
A bit roughly, I pushed her hand away and took a step back. I watched her, her arms around herself, shivering because of the cold, and I realized that I didn't want any of this.
"October's a cold month at night." I just pointed out a bit meanly. "You should wear a sweater."
Without an other word, I turned on my heels and left quickly. I heard her yell behind me and held my breath.
"You'll call me back sooner than you think!"
I started running for a reason I ignored and when my throat was burning and I couldn't seem to breathe anymore, I stopped and held myself on my knees, panting. Perhaps I hated this and everything Heidi had mentioned because I knew, deep down, that she was right. I felt the few beers I drank make me want to puke and turned to my right, vomiting slightly in the grass. I closed my eyes and breathed slowly and deeply, trying to get my heartbeats back to a normal pace but It wasn't due to my run but more because of all the guilt running inside me. I loved Olivia, I loved her more than I had ever loved anyone. It was scary and troubling and I was not really sure what to do with those feelings.
I kept walking around slowly, knowing that I should get a taxi but not really sure I wanted to. I didn't feel ready to go home and see my girlfriend after everything that happened, even if she wasn't aware of anything. I couldn't stop thinking about what Heidi told me and about how Liv said that love was not all that was needed in a relationship. I loved her and she loved me, shouldn't it be enough?
Before I realized it, I stood in front of my house and sighed, taking one of my hands out of my pocket to look at the time on my watch. It was already 2am and I just stood there a few more minutes before walking in. All the lights were off and I blinked a few times until my eyes got used to the dark. I walked to my room and quickly undressed before getting under the covers with my girlfriend. She didn't move and I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her to me until her back pressed on my chest. I loved her, I couldn't see my life without her, and I had to stop letting doubts get the best of me.
"I love you, Olivia." I whispered, burring my nose in her hair and closing my eyes. "I'm in love with you."

“Not to freak you out but I’m a cuddler” Taron Egerton x reader
A/N: this came to me on a dream after a long time of me not being able to write anything decent, I still have some requests to do, and if you want to request anything you can, also maybe I’ll do a part 2 of this I’m not sure yet. I hope you like this I really spend time editing this.
Pd: it’s slow burn I think
Warning: some cursing, mention of sex
W/C: long enough
“You’re going, end discussion” your friend says as you two walk down the busy streets of the city, it was a chilly day and you were on your way to eat lunch “why do I have to? haven’t seen any of the guys in a long time” you try to make her understand your point of view but you know deep down that is useless, she was going to convince you anyway, It’s not like you don’t want to see your old friends but you feel like it’s been so long. “first of all Harry is going to be there and I need emotional support in case I do something dumb, like getting back together... and second T is going to be there, you know, your friend the one you have a huge crush on that you’ve been ignoring for the past 6 months or more,... and guess what the guy is single again so you don’t need to avoid him” you look at her as you took a seat on the table “I wasn’t avoiding him” you say looking at the menu, memories flood your mind about the things you used to do all together, movie nights, karaoke, going out to dance but as you grow older, most of your friends found jobs and were working so finding time to spend together was getting harder but you kept in touch. The only ones you saw almost every week was y/f/n, Harry and Taron, so it was normal for you to text every day with Taron, friends do that, right?, you never read much into that, texting all day and talk about your days or a movie you watched, him calling you when got a new role for a movie or you being there for him when he didn’t get the part, in the end, all of your talks end up in you going to bed smiling and your heart beating faster, but that wasn't the only thing you did, sometimes you went out to catch up over a coffee or your favorites, when you had your Netflix marathons. You used to do a lot of things together till one day he came to your house and told you that he had a girlfriend at first it took you by surprise but every second that passed of him talking about her your heart broke a little more. It was hard to keep a smile that evening and pretend that it didn’t affect you, but what else could you do?.
That night you went to bed crying, you weren't aware of your feelings towards him till that day, as weeks passed it was getting harder to spend time with him, and knowing that by the end of the day he was going to be with someone else, so instead of telling him how you felt and make things awkward you focus on your job and work your ass off.
You sigh “okay, I’ll go” after the waitress took your order you add “and I don’t have a crush on him” “yeah right” your friend says rolling her eyes.
By Friday noon you were already halfway to your weekend getaway you tried to keep your mind on the road, your friend was asleep next to you and you still have 3 hours to get to the cabin, let's face it you were bored so you decided to pull a little prank on y/f/n.
“y/f/n Oh god we are gonna die!!!!! watch out ahhhhh!!!!!” you scream turning the steering wheel to the sides, your friend wakes up screaming and you burst out laughing “I can’t believe you!!!!” she screams mad at you “you are the worst, you know that?” she adds slapping your arm “ouch” you said keeping your eyes on the road “you know, you are the worst, you are supposed to keep me awake” you tell her “you could have woke me up calling my name, not by giving me a fucking heart attack”, “but I was bored” you turn to her pouting “fuck you y/l/n” then she turns on the radio and Lizzo starts to sound you both look at each other smiling and start singing and dancing to the song.
Why men great 'til they gotta be great? Woo!
I just took a DNA test, turns out I'm 100% that bitch
Even when I'm crying crazy
Yeah, I got boy problems, that's the human in me
Bling bling, then I solve 'em, that's the goddess in me
You coulda had a bad bitch, non-committal
Help you with your career just a little
You're 'posed to hold me down, but you're holding me back
And that's the sound of me not calling you back
After that, the trip went fast and now you were parking your car outside the cabin, your friend rushed out to knock on the door because she had to pee but you stay a little longer taking a deep breath to calm down, then you got out the car, someone finally opens the door and your friend almost kicks the guy down “sorry got to pee” you hear her screaming, you stopped in your tracks when you notice who is at the door “Hi” Taron says smiling at you “Hi” you answered “I thought you weren’t going to come” he said scratching the back of his neck as you entered the house “someone has to take care of y/f/n” you say quickly and with that you run inside not looking at him, yup, up to a good start, not awkward at all.
You greet your friends they were happy to see you after a long time, there was a new couple between them "I can't believe you are finally together" you say excited "well, it took us a little but I couldn't resist that cute little face" she says squeezing the guy’s cheek "aww, I'm so happy for you guys" you add hugging them, turning around you see y/f/n talking with Taron and another guy that looks very familiar, she sees you and motions for you to get close, you walk to them "y/n do you remember the bodyguard" you friend says looking at you "which one?" You knew which one she was referring to but you just like to mess with her "the one on Netflix" she answered "I'm sure there is more than one" you said "the one with the really hot guy, with the accent and nice butt" she said quickly and you hear Taron and the guy laugh, then she notices what she just said to the guy beside her and you see her face getting 20 different shades of red, you smile at her, fuck she is going to kill me you think "oh, the serie, yes, I remember" you say "well this is the guy" your friend whispers clearly embarrassed "I'm Richard" he says with his Scottish accent and extends his hand to you smiling "y/n" you shake his hand "what she said is true though, you have a really nice ass" you add smiling teasingly, all of you start laughing and you feel Taron eyes on you, you look at him and he had a smile but honestly he looks a bit mad, you continue your talk with Richard he is a really nice guy (and really handsome) but you know your friend likes him so you started to turn the conversation to her and help her with him, they start talking and you are left to the side with Taron, you get nervous again, you were about to walk out of there but y/f/n stops you "wait, T is going to show us our room" she tells you "okay" you sigh and keep your eyes anywhere but him.
After Taron shows you the room you will be sharing with y/f/n, you left your bags in the room and all of you go to the Woods to explore the surrounding areas, it was breathtaking. You let the smell of grass fill your nostrils and let yourself relax at the nice feeling, it was a much need it change of air. No one was running late to work or the loud sounds of the busy city. Just the sound of the birds chirping and little creatures that live in the woods.
Walking down the path there was a river close to the house, walking a bit farther there was a tree house that had a view of the mountains. You stopped at a meadow to run around and play, suddenly, starts to rain and everyone runs back to the cabin to seek refuge from the water but you take your time, you always loved the rain, find it so relaxing when pours down, the sound that makes when hits the ground so you zip up your jacket and slowly made your way back. "I knew you were going to take your time" Taron startled you from behind "god, you scared me" you almost fall and he laughs at your reaction and helps you to steady yourself "it's not funny" you said fighting the smile making its way on your face, you walk silently together, you are so close that your shoulders bump into each other "I'm happy that you came" Taron says breaking the silence "I am too, I really miss all (mostly you) but I was busy with work and stuff" you said. Neither of you said anything else, close to the house Taron stops walking making you turn to look back at him "something wrong?" You asked, he kept silence for a while debating if he should ask "are you avoiding me?" He asks dead serious "what!! No...not at all, wha… why!? You stutter and he steps close to you "that's how it feels, we used to talk all the time but then we stopped, did I do something wrong?" He inquiries "No...we just...I don't know" you say fidgeting with your fingers not looking at him in the eyes. “We just fell apart” you finally say lifting your gaze, you couldn’t tell what he was thinking, the rain started to pour down heavily “We should get inside before we catch a cold” he says breaking the silence and you walk back to the house.
It was late at night and all of you were on the living room around the coffee table playing games as the fire of the chimney kept you warm or it was the amount of alcohol you were drinking? at this point, it didn’t matter, after a round of drinko and truth or dare, Sophie suggested playing fuck, marry and kiss with an empty bottle of beer, y/f/n was in front of you and it was her turn to spin the bottle, she turned the bottle and stopped pointing right at you, you sip your drink “y/n, fuck, marry and kill” she slurred “wait no fuck, marry and kiss mhm Hugh Jackman, Taron or Richard” she finished looking at you smiling “it’s not fair two of my options are here” you tell her “it’s your turn babe answer or drink 3 shots of tequila” she says, you were a little tipsy but didn’t want to get drunk “fuck Richard, marry Ta..no wait marry Hugh and kiss Taron” you answer, she looks at you satisfied with your answer “good answer, I would marry Hugh too” Richard whispers on your ear and you laugh, you ask the same to the next person that the bottle landed on and the game kept going again you feel Taron observing you but you didn’t let that affect you, now you were playing never have I ever, quickly turning into a nsfw game, you drink at the most boring ones but you didn’t mind as all of your friends were definitely drunk, your friend somehow got closer to Richard and ended sitting on his lap the game came to and end as most of the players passed out, you help some of them to their rooms others lay on the couch and y/f/n disappeared with Richard a while ago.
“that was fun” Taron says sitting next to you on the floor “yup” you say remarking the p “why marry Hugh and not me?” he asks taking the bottle of beer from your hand and sip from it, you looked at him in disbelieve “are you really asking me that? c’mon you know the man, he can do it all and he is funny and handsome” you say counting the things with your fingers “true” he agrees and you took the bottle back to drink “how’s been life treating you?” you nervously ask “can’t complain...just finished press tour of Rocketman now I’m back at home to spend time with my family and friends some of them I haven’t seen in a long time” he smiles down at you “looking forward to catch up with them and finally rest” he adds without noticing you start playing with his hand that was close to you drawing circles on his palm “I think you deserve it, It was a really good movie” you whisper “did you watch it?” he ask not believing you “Of course I did, I didn’t know you could sing” you stop playing with his hand and put yours in your knee and look at him “I do apparently, I used to sing but nothing serious, like in the shower type of thing” you laugh “fuck, you even got to know Elton, I hate you” you two talk for a while till you couldn’t keep your eyes open and after you yawn for the fifth time “I think you should go to sleep, love” you feel your chest flutter at the nickname, it felt so natural, and you die a little on the inside “good night” you say as you got up from the floor.
You made your way to your room but you hear the moans coming from it on the hallway “fuck” you mutter out loud, now what? you think, maybe you can squeeze yourself on the sofa?, walking back to the living you bump into Taron “is everything alright?” he asks “my roommate is kinda busy fucking Richard so I’m going to sleep here” you say looking at the already crowded couch “I don’t think that’s a good idea, there is no space here... maybe….since your roommate is fucking my roommate...we can share my bed?” Taron asks nervously “oh...I don’t want to bother you, I’ll manage something” you say quickly “nonsense you are certainly not bothering, and there is no space here, c’mon let’s go” he practically orders making you walk with him, you were lucky that it was far from the room were your friend was so you couldn’t hear a thing, getting inside the room and looking at the bed all your fears are left behind and crawl into the bed right away feeling exhausted “you are not sleeping with that right?” he asks “well all my things are in my room and I’m not going there anytime soon” you turn yourself onto your back and gaze at the ceiling crossing your arms over your chest, you hear Taron shuffling in his bag and throws a t-shirt at you “you can use that” “thanks” you mutter and went to the bathroom and change, taking off your jeans and shirt, you put his t-shirt and you smile like a teenage girl at the smell that came from it, you were short so it fits like a dress but it did lift up a little on your ass, perks of having a big booty, trying to get the t-shirt as down as possible, it didn’t, well it’s not getting any down than this you finally say, you let your hair fall freely from your ponytail, back to the room Taron was looking for something and he was shirtless, fuck that man is so hot, not wanting to get caught staring you walk to the bed and get inside humming contently with your eyes closed feeling the soft bed sheets hugging you, opening your eyes you see Taron smiling at you and got into the bed too, keeping a prudent space between you “g night” you say turning over and he turns off the light “night” you hear him “wait” he said, "before you fall asleep" you turn around and he says  “... not to freak you out but I’m a cuddler” you see his cheeks getting red even when the light was off and you laugh at his confession “good” you said turning around again, not knowing from where this kick of confidence came, you pressed your back to his chest and grab his hand to pull it around your waist and put your hand over his arm you feel his hot breath against the back of your neck as he nuzzled his head in the crock of your neck, you tangled your legs together “good night Taron” you finally say and fell sleep right away. Being held by him it was far better from anything that you ever imagined.

Epilogue
With our successes, the Hamlet grew. What used to be ruined buildings had since been rebuilt. With the roads cleared of danger, trade returned to the Hamlet. For the first time ever, I could recall walking the streets and hearing laughter and music outside of the tavern. I could recall seeing smiles on the faces of those that lived in my dear Hamlet. My work was bearing fruit.
We were beginning to fall into a comfortable lull. My mornings were often spent with Barristan, Reynauld, or Baldwin to further my training. Once Baldwin heard of what I was trying to accomplish, he decided to add his knowledge into the mix as well. I cannot say I was expecting it. While he is a kind man, he is often aloof and rarely spoke with anyone for long, and yet here he was, spending hours with me trading blows and discussing what it meant to be a leader. Seeing as he was once in charge a region like I am, I valued his opinion.
The midday was spent combing through reports, both from the heroes of the Hamlet as well as from my people. They often would write to me about what supplies they needed in order to thrive, and I would pull on any string I could find to make it happen. It was tiring work as often there were more failures than successes at first, but with each request, I improved until I had a reliable network of merchants and messengers at my beck and call.
This network also secured us two new faces. One was a man by the name of Tardif. Though he is a bounty hunter by trade, he heard stories of my Hamlet and the strange occurrences that surrounded it and became curious. He came and offered his services both as a survivalist and as an experienced warrior. He also intended to join in case he saw someone worth money to turn in. His resume of men he had caught and killed was too impressive to say no. He found himself a comfortable place within our scouts before the week was out.
The other was a court jester who found himself out of work. He never showed his face and insisted upon the name “Jingles”. Jingles, despite being a suspicious figure, proved himself to be an excellent entertainer. I could watch the worries of the warriors melt around him as he started to play and joke with them. I hired him after a night at the tavern since this skill was invaluable. We needed anything that could calm everyone and make them forget about the horrors they faced, if only for a little while.
Evenings were often spent in the taverns. I found myself playing games with Barristan, Boudica, and Dismas often. Reynauld would occasionally join our games and I would often find myself losing money to the lot of them. I can’t say I minded, however. I was happy for the company. The stories from their lives were certainly entertaining and they often had a knack for telling me whatever I needed to hear after a long day.
Nights were spent within the Estate with Paracelsus and Alhazred. We found that the three of us worked best in the dead of the night. It was the strangest mix of arcane and scientific studies as we tried to understand the enemies that surrounded the Hamlet. We attempted to find any weaknesses we could exploit or any explanation as to how they came to be. Often we found nothing of interest, so we put out requests for other scholars who were interested in studying all that we found as our duties meant we could not devote as much time as we would have liked to unlocking the mysteries of these corpses.
We did get a response from that call, but it was not one we expected at all. It was not a scientist or another occultist that answered, but a man wrapped in chains and bearing the most curious scars. He said he knew something about the occult as he was a victim of someone experimenting with the occult. He offered his knowledge in exchange for sanctuary. I granted him this, despite how on edge Damian acted around this man. He seemed genuinely relieved and agreed to start his work with us that evening. Turns out his claims were the truth. Someone did indeed do something so awful to him that he was capable of turning into a strange demonic beast. I try not to ask too much about it as it seems to be a subject he didn’t wish to speak on. In fact, it tended to put him on edge, and I did not want to risk angering someone like him.
It his arrival that caused me to have a tense conversation with Damian. One night, after my study group had decided we worked long enough and tried to turn it in for the night, Damian approached me and asked why I granted “that abomination” safety within the Hamlet. I had to think for a second. True, I wanted his knowledge, but I knew there was more it to it than that.
However, I felt that I was not ready to tell him of what the Hag and the Prophet told me. Part of me feared what his response would be. Would he attempt to lecture me about the Light and how I simply needed to pray in order to keep myself on the right path? Or would he grow angry and attempt to turn me in? The Church would certainly intervene if I thought something beyond me was controlling my actions, wouldn’t they?
No, I couldn’t risk that. I wasn’t about to let them undo all the work I had done so far by tearing me away from the Hamlet. If I had started something by entering this place, I doubt me leaving would changing anything, plus I did not enjoy the idea of being interrogated about the Church about the possibility of possession, especially if I didn’t know if that was truly what was happening. It could still be that I was always in control of my actions and I was twisting into something awful.
So, I lied to Damian. I said that his knowledge was too valuable. How many folks went through the same things he did? How many folks know the occult so personally? Damian didn’t seem thrilled with this answer, but he didn’t press any further. He simply said he hoped the knowledge was worth it before turning it in for the night. It was not my proudest moment, but I felt I had done the right thing at the time, despite the heavy guilt I felt.
Despite my tense relationship with the man living in my estate, it seemed the Hamlet was recovering. As we become comfortable with our successes, I forgot to look outwards. Our success was plain to see from the tall, flourishing buildings and the caravans of merchants coming to and from my Hamlet. Success that others less fortunate could see, success that they wanted a part of. In my ignorance, I had not fully utilized our numbers to establish a more effective guard and for this mistake, my Hamlet burned.
They came in the dead of the night. The rumble of thunder and pouring rain obscured them from even Dismas’ sharp eyes and ears. They broke in and all he and Baldwin could do was fall back and warn the others as they began to ransack and set flame to house and business alike. Even then, I was not awake. No, I woke up to smoke as it stung my eyes.
I feared my own estate had caught fire. Had I not put out the fireplace properly? Did the logs in my own room roll out? No, there was no glow within my room and the smoke was coming in from outside. I looked out my window and could only scream in horror as I saw my Hamlet burning. I grabbed what clothes I could and headed for the stairs to rush to the aid of my people.
When I arrived at the landing, I noticed the door was already open. Someone had let themselves in, but I did not see them anywhere in the foyer. I saw no reason to worry about this when the lives of my people were on the line. My fortunes meant nothing if the Hamlet I was trying to save burned to the ground. I was unaware of the knife aimed for my back, but I was fortunate that Damian was.
I felt a rush behind me and I heard the sound of blood hitting the ground. As I turned around, I saw my savior with his arms outstretched, his chest was red, but he did not flinch. Instead, he gave a laugh. My assailant was taken aback by this display and attempted to take a step back, intending to run into a different room, but Damian was faster as he clasped his hand onto the man’s shoulder, holding him. In his hand was his cruel flail. He said that the man must know that what he done was a terrible sin that could only be answered with blood before he lashed the man with that flail.
I do not think I need to detail the scene, but after a few more lashes, the man collapsed upon the floor. Damian then turned to me and goaded me into action. The Hamlet was still burning and there more people like this Bandit likely tormenting the inhabitants of my Hamlet. He was, of course, right, and so the two of us dashed for the door and into the Hamlet proper to aid the heroes that were rousing from their barracks and were rushing to either put out the fires or to strike down the bandits.
We found Barristan and Tardif on the way. They joined our ranks as we pressed further into the madness. We followed the sounds to where the fighting appeared to be the heaviest and found a part of the Hamlet that had been absolutely ravaged. A man with a wolf’s head over his shoulder like a cape lobbed another grenade and delighted in the carnage as a building buckled with the following explosion. Tardif paused for a moment before he announced the man’s name. He said that the man was a famous brigand known as Vvulf and that he was a wanted man that would certainly bring Tardif enough money tor retire, if he so chose.
Vvulf turned to us, a wide grin on his face. It seemed Tardif’s bold statements humored the man. He confirmed that yes, that is indeed who he was, but the bounty hunter was fooling himself if he thought he had what it took to take an experienced warrior like him down. Well, I can confirm that he certainly was that difficult to kill. For each time we tried to advance, the bastard would use his barrel of bombs to push us back. By the time any of us were close enough to hit, we were a bleeding mess from the shrapnel that flew back with each blow. I never knew even mud could cut if it moved fast enough, and from those blasts, it certainly stung.
It was one of the longest battles of my life, but eventually we managed to push in and do damage to the Brigand. In the end, he fell bleeding from his wounds. The bandits nearby watched their leader fall, and, in their panic, they fled. We did our best to capture them, but we were too injured to do much. Those that were caught were put to death without my permission, but I hardly found the energy to care much in that moment.
Instead, I found myself walking the streets of my once again ruined Hamlet. Gold storages were broken into and depleted, buildings that took months of work and resources were now rubble once more. I felt nothing but despair and rage as I fell to my knees in the Town Square and I wept, wondering if anything I did mattered.
Eventually Baldwin approached and knelt before me. He offered me a hand that I took and helped me onto my feet once again. He said that he understood my grief and my frustration, but it was unlikely that those bandits would stay away. Now that the town was vulnerable, they would likely come back and take what was left as there was little to stand in their way. I needed to focus on that. He was right, I had an enemy that I needed to vanquish.
I would see those bandits hang for what they had done.

The first thing [Yn] noticed as she woke up is the movement of the world around her, like she’s on a swaying ship. It had been so long since [Yn] had seen or heard any water that wasn’t from a faucet, so she eagerly worked her way through her muddled mind to listen for the slaps of water, only to find...silence. Then footsteps, loud and reverberating, like the sound was echoing through a large space. ‘Oh, right’, [Yn] thought to herself, ‘I’m in jail’.
Her mind quickly caught her up on her past in flashes playing behind her eyelids; Needles held by people with impassive faces, clinical and uncaring. Then explosions, blinding and confusing, men and women with guns, dragging her out of hell into the unknown. Concern and...fear. That’s what was hiding in the eyes of the people that found her. Not fear for her, but of her. Not that she blames them. For all they know, [Yn]’s a ticking time bomb of terror.
The world is slowly coming back into focus as a new voice joins the mix, low and pleasant...comforting, even though the words themselves aren’t anything [Yn] should take comfort in.
“Hunnigan.” The man said, clearly in greeting, “I was told you had an assignment for me, but why are we meeting here?”
“Because,” a woman’s voice, ringing with authority spoke nearby, startling [Yn], or as close as she could get to startled through her foggy mind. [Yn] had only heard one set of footsteps approaching, so this Hunnigan must have already been here, waiting outside [Yn]’s cell. That knowledge was a bit unnerving, to have a silent watcher with [Yn] being none the wiser. The voice continued, “This is where your assignment is.”
“What, am I stuck on guard duty?” The man was clearly joking, not expecting the response.
“Essentially yes, but not in the jail. Meet [Yn] [Ln].” The voices came closer, coupled with the echo of footsteps, “She was taken from an Umbrella facility a few days ago. I don’t have much information about the raid on the lab, or about Miss [Ln] here, but from what I understand our scientists were keeping her here to make sure she wasn’t infected with anything from the lab that would start an outbreak. She’s been cleared, and they need someone to watch her while they run more tests.”
“You have got to be kidding me Hunnigan. I’m supposed to babysit for a bunch of scientists while the assholes from that facility are still fugitives?! What the hell?!”
“They requested a seasoned operative to protect her. And besides that...Leon, I’m worried about you. Maybe this will be a good change of pace for you”
“Is this about last week? I told you, I’m fine. Nothing to worry about.” The man’s voice, Leon, was clearly displeased, and thinly veiled anger was boiling beneath the surface.
“Leon, the orders didn’t come from me, so don’t get snippy.” Hunnigan snapped back. Leon sighed.
“So is this some sort of weird form of punishment from the higher ups? The mission went smoothly, I was hardly a liability.” Leon was clearly still annoyed, but calmed down at the woman’s words.
“You are here to protect a key witness, according to the orders, nothing more to it. I didn’t even put your incident in the report.” Hunnigan’s voice was also more subdued. “The concern is mine, not DSO’s. I’m worried about my friend.” She said with emphasis, and Leon sighed again.
“I’m sorry. I guess I’m a little on edge. I shouldn’t have snapped at you.”
“It’s alright. I’m used to your abuse.”
“Abuse? That seems a little harsh.” [Yn] could hear the smile in the man’s voice. These two were obviously close. They laughed before getting back to business. “What else can you tell be about the situation. You said I’m not guarding the subject in here, so do we have a safehouse set up?”
“Well...You’re not going to like this, but we don’t have any safehouses to spare at the moment. Several were compromised and the few we have left are already taken.”
“So where am I supposed to take her?” There was an awkward pause.
“Your place is safe. Off the radar. Only a few people actually know where it is. That’s as secure as you can get.” Hunnigan’s voice was dripping with false cheer. Leon groaned loudly.
“I keep it secret for a reason Hunnigan. So that it stays safe and secure. You know I don’t bring work home with me.”
“Exactly!” Hunnigan continues, ignoring that last part, “So it’s clearly the best place to go. Glad we agree.” Leon groans again. “Or would you rather stay here?”
“Fine,” Leon sounded grumpy, but resigned, “What else you got?”
“That’s really it. You’re orders are to take [Yn] to a secure location and protect her until further notice.”
“That’s really all the information you have? What about the file on [Yn]?”
“There isn’t much in it. Most of it is restricted information. Our scientists...haven’t been very forthcoming.”
“Fine,” Leon growled again, “Do you at least know why she’s locked up? Couldn’t the lab technicians kept her with them if they had to run so many tests?”
“I really don’t know." Her voice softens, "But Leon, be nice to her ok? From the little I know and have seen...she’s been through a lot.”
“Be nice? As opposed to what? I’m nice.” There was a long silence, and [Yn] could practically hear the glare. “Whatever." His voice echoed back down the hall, "Open on twelve!” The clanking and grating of metal startled [Yn], and for the first time in who knows how long, she opened her eyes. She blinked several times, her eyes dry and not used to the light. A figure walked through the cell door, then paused. “What’s wrong with her?”
“For some reason the guards decided to sedate her.” [Yn]’s bleary vision tracked to the figure still outside the cell, to a woman in a suit jacket and matching pencil skirt, rectangular glasses perched on her nose. A quiet growl emanated from the figure in front of her, attracting [Yn]’s attention again.
The man before her wore a dark gray sweater beneath a brown leather jacket, jeans and hefty looking boots, but [Yn]’s gaze nervously stayed on the gun strapped to his thigh as he walked closer. He crouched down in front of the cot [Yn] was laying on, eyes taking in her form. She curled in on herself when she noticed the hidden anger on his face.
“I want the names of those guards, and whoever was in charge of them.” He rumbled.
“Already on it. I’ll send the list to your phone. Let me know if you need any help bashing skulls.” Leon smiled at that, throwing an amused glance over his shoulder, before turning his attention back to [Yn]. Leaning a little closer.
“Your name is [Yn] [Ln], right? I’m Agent Leon Kennedy, I’ll be in charge of keeping you safe for a while. Can you stand?”
[Yn] furrowed her brow and concentrated on her muscles, attempting to push herself off the mattress. She didn’t get very far before her arms gave out and she landed back to the pillow with a sigh of frustration, shaking her head. She looked up to see the displeasure return to Leon’s expression, eyes glittering with anger. [Yn] flinched back from the intense look.
“Hey, it’s ok,” Leon’s voice was muted and soft, his face clearing to a comforting smile, “I’m not mad at you.” He stood slowly and walked back out the cell door. “Hey, you!” He called, and a shuffle was heard down the hall, then quick steps approaching.
“Yes sir?” The man looked young, like he could still be a teenager, and had an odd look on his face that [Yn] could only describe as admiration, star struck gazing at Leon.
“Do you have a wheelchair or something I can use to get [Yn] to my car?” The boy, as he could hardly be called a man by his obvious youth, looked to [Yn] then back to Leon.
“Uh, I-I could go check. But I don’t remember seeing one.” Leon sighed in frustration.
“No, nevermind. I’ll handle it. Just be ready to open the doors when I come through.”
“Yes sir!” The boy ran back to his station, and Leon looked to Hunnigan.
“Add the current guard roster to that list of names.”
“You got it.”
Leon walked back to [Yn], kneeling on one knee by the bed. “I’m going to have to carry you, alright?” [Yn] gulped and nodded nervously, but when Leon reached toward her she involuntarily flinched away from him, and she couldn’t keep the sudden fear from her eyes. Leon looked damn near distraught. “Hey, I’m not going to hurt you, ok? I’m here to keep you safe. Here, can you take my hands?” Leon held out his hands, waiting for [Yn], who cautiously reached for him and put her hands in his. His hands were big and warm, and despite her apprehension, [Yn] felt her fears waning.
“Alright, good. Now I’m going to help you sit up.” Leon pulled gently, helping [Yn] slowly sit up until she was upright with her legs still stretched out on the bed. “Good, now put your hands on my shoulders.” His hands were still holding hers, but he waited for [Yn] to move, letting go only when she made contact with the smooth, cool leather. “You’re doing great [Yn], now I’m going to reach this arm around you, ok?” Once [Yn] nodded he moved his hand, keeping it brushing against her so she knew where it was at all times. As his fingers swept across her lower back, [Yn] couldn’t hold back a shiver, and Leon looked like he was holding back a grin. “Now this hand is going under your knees, alright?” [Yn] nodded again, and Leon trailed his fingers down her leg before reaching under her knees, placing his hand on her thigh so her legs were resting on his arm, and he leaned in, gently pulling her close. “Now I’m going to lift you. Ready?” At [Yn]’s nod Leon slowly lifted her from the bed onto his knee. “There, not so bad is it?”
For the first time [Yn] took a long look at his face. He had dark golden hair parted on the side, framing his face, cascading down just past his cheekbones, a bit of his fringe obscuring part of his face, falling over one eye. His cheekbones were well defined and his lips were full and curved into a warm smile that sparkled in his eyes. And his eyes, oh god his eyes, were like pools of ocean water, a shock of light blue that glittered with hidden humor. His breath was fanning [Yn]’s face with how close he was holding her, and her already hazy mind nearly shut down, overwhelmed by the beautiful man before her.
“You’re really pretty.” The words spilled out in a whisper past [Yn]’s absent thought filter. In wasn’t until a flush spread across Leon’s cheeks and his quiet, embarrassed laughter surrounded her that she realized she had said the words out loud.
“Um, thanks…” Leon looked thrown off by the unexpected compliment, the pink dusted on his cheeks creating an even more adorable picture. He cleared his throat and shook his head smiling. “Let’s get you to the car. I’m going to stand up, alright?” [Yn], feeling her own cheeks growing warm, nodded again and averted her eyes in embarrassment. Leon stood easily, shifting [Yn]’s weight so she was resting comfortably in his arms.
Leon carried [Yn] out of the cell, careful to avoid the hard metal bars. He said a quick goodbye to Hunnigan before walking down the hall towards the exit. The guard, upon seeing Leon approaching, hastily stood and fumbled with the controls in the guard booth. He got the door open and threw an awkward salute, which Leon returned with a nod.
The medicine was finally clearing [Yn]’s system, but the swaying motion of Leon’s step were reminding her of the woozy feeling she had woken up to, and bringing up flashes of the concerned guard that had slipped the needle into her arm hours, maybe days before, for all she knew. The memory had her anxiety flaring up again and in an attempt to flee them, [Yn] buried her face in Leon’s shoulder, hugging him closer with her arms around his neck. His breathing stopped for a moment, and she felt his head turn to look at her, but she stayed hidden, face pressed against the cool fabric of his jacket and breathing in his spicy scent.
Before long they reached the entrance of the building, a member of the staff, maybe another guard, jumping up to open the front door for them, following to help Leon open up the passenger door of his car parked out front. Leon muttered his thanks and [Yn] heard the footsteps quickly retreat before she was gently lowered to the seat. Leon carefully pried [Yn]’s hands from his jacket and buckled her in. He closed the door as lightly as possible before rounding the vehicle and sliding in behind the wheel. The car was cold, especially after being pressed close to Leon’s warm body, and the leather seats were unforgivingly chilly. [Yn] shivered, and as soon as Leon started the car he cranked the heat up.
“It will get warm in a second.” He stopped to look at his phone, his brows furrowed in concentration as he read whatever words were displayed. “It looks like we have a drop to pick up with clothes and supplies for you. Good, you can finally get out of those awful scrubs.” [Yn] looked down at herself, noticing for the first time that she was wearing generic hospital scrubs, luckily with a white, long sleeved shirt underneath to keep the worst of the chill out. She tried to remember when she had been changed out of her other clothes, but when no memory was forthcoming, she let it go. Leon put his phone in a cradle on the dashboard, buckling his seatbelt and looking over to [Yn].
“After when get the drop, how about we pick up something to eat. I’m starving, and I don’t know what kind of bland crackers and water diet you’ve been on, but I’m sure you’re ready for some real food.” [Yn] smiled brightly at the thought, and Leon’s answering grin was dazzling. “I’ll take that as a yes.” He said with a chuckle, before driving away from the abysmal building, leaving another hell far behind.

Chuseok || Mu Jun
Summary: On Chuseok, the Baes and Moons gather as is tradition and a secret is revealed...
@baenxietydad
JUN:
Chuseok.
Normally, Jun loved Chuseok. It was the one holiday that Jun could always afford to come home for with no guilt, to enjoy Eomma’s cooking and play games with his siblings. Last year’s Chuseok he had to spend it with Tiffany’s family and missed his own in the very fibre of his bones. He called Eomma and talked to her for two hours, nearly crying a few times, but of course, holding it all in. He had been looking forward to this Chuseok, then. Even though Abeoji would not be here...there would still be food and games and the Baes would come over like they always did--and Korean would flow, and the house would smell like egg batter, and he’d be...home.
But this year Chuseok came on the heel of Jun’s greatest shame. All the rich, delicious delicacies of Chuseok, the gifts, he didn’t deserve any of it. He woke up and wanted to walk out into the fields-- banish himself if Eomma wouldn’t.
He couldn’t, though. Tradition was tradition, town scandal or not. Eomma found him feeding the chickens and gave him his to-do list for the day, mentioning the Baes would be over before noon.
So here he was in the kitchen, chopping vegetables. Onions actually. They burned his eyes, making him sniffle and  turn bright red. He looked up from the cutting board as he tried furiously to blink the onion-stench from his eyes when he heard a knock.
Ah, it was Mu-yeol hyung, sent in here by Eomma no doubt.
“It’s the onions!” Jun declared instead of hello, sensitive about the tear that rolled down his cheek. “Aiya, come here and take over, I need a break.”
 MARLIN:
Mu-yeol clicked his tongue like he was admonishing Jun and quickly took over chopping the onions. Aiya, you’d think humans would evolve and immunity to the gasses onions give off considering they use them in cooking regularly.
“Fun fact-” the ‘about fairies’ bit was silent  “-onions don’t bother us. Evolution was kinder to us.”
He gestured to the counter with some shavings of veggie peels on it. “Scoop those into the trashcan before noonim yells at us both.”
Yells was used liberally here, as Eun-jung was more likely to go ‘omo, boys what a mess!’  and quietly do the spot cleaning herself while Jun insisted they were ‘about to do it, eomma!’
“Yah, you really took something out on the onions, didn’t you?”
 JUN:
Jun rolled his eyes at his hyung, though it was a good-natured kind of gesture (for Jun, at least). Of course fairies were unaffected by onions. You know, sometimes he wouldn’t mind so much being something like a fairy. It seemed idyllic from where he stood-- a kind community, lots of holding hands, one specific thing to do, even if that was, eh...garbage-talent! Or something. But anyway.
He obeyed his hyung and put the food waste into the food waste bucket, since he would add it to the Moon’s compost pile later. Then he moved to the drawer to pull out another knife. He’d go for the mushrooms, eh.
“Ah, just getting warmed up, hyung,” Jun said almost cheerfully. With a snort he took his place next to Mu-yeol and put the mushroom’s on another cutting board. “It’s election season. Plenty to be upset about, eh.” He began his furious chopping again.
Yes, the election was what got Jun worked up. Nothing else!
 MARLIN:
“The election? Oh.” Mu-yeol nodded slowly.
He almost forgot about that seeing as he never cared enough before last year. His son of course had only been going to human school for a year so it was just last year he cared enough to vote. If he recalled correctly he’d voted for Hades Acheron.
This year? He didn’t even know what seats were going to be open or who all was running yet. Of course that had yet to be announced but he imagined townsfolk had heard gossip of who may run.
“Are you looking to run?” He asked Jun, an eyebrow quirking up.
JUN:
“Ha!” Jun barked at his hyung’s ridiculous question.
Honestly, he could laugh even harder than that.
Jun, see, never had political aspirations. Politics were a bastard’s business-- necessary evil, yes, but not for him. Before his market was attacked though, he had hoped to help Al McWiggin with a campaign. Now? He wasn’t sure. It might be too dangerous. His store was targeted already. What if Swynlake went after his family next? What if Tae-yah was harassed at school? Jun fretted over these questions, and cursed himself for even caring in the first place--for ever wanting to make Swynlake better.
Why did he care about Swynlake when Swynlake did not care about him?
“Please, don’t you know we’re public enemy number one right now?” Jun said bitterly as he swept his mushrooms into the boiling pot. He reached for the carrots next. “I run, I get chased out of town with pitchforks.”
 MARLIN:
“No? No, I didn’t hear. Who could be mad at your mother?” Mu-yeol wrinkled his nose in disbelief. Eun-jung was the kindest, most loving person. “Or is it you? You can be...abrasive.”
As Jun’s hyung, he can say something so brutally honest.
“Of course, part of that is our culture. We're blunt people. What makes you think people are so angry with you?”
Being in the Hollow, he hadn’t heard of the vandalism.
JUN:
He scoffed again.
Was it a good thing that his hyung was clueless? Maybe, maybe not. Mu-yeol didn’t really count when it came to Swynlake. He avoided the town unless he was 1. Working; 2. Watching his son dance; or 3. Picking up Korean-specific groceries from the Moon Market. He had not come by recently and so he did not see the RACIST accusation nor did he go on Twitter or read the newspaper. Maybe it was a good thing talk did not reach the noisy dance halls of Pixie’s then? Or Jun should not count his luck.
He began to furiously chop the carrots.
“The store was attacked, hyung. A girl--she hated my petitions against vampires--against vampires, you know, the one many people signed! And so she vandalized the Market!” Jun brandished the knife very unsafely as his anger grew. “She said I was racist! I’m not racist, eh, I just don’t like vampires. You don’t like vampires!” Jabbed the knife toward Mu-yeol. “But I’m not racist. But no, now everyone is saying that we are unfriendly to Magicks and some are saying they won’t shop at our store-- but we are not, eh, we’ve never--we serve anyone who comes in, vampire, werewolf, fairy, sorcerer, we have never turned away a customer--all because I just wanted to make Swynlake safe against dark magic, dark magic, not all magic-- so I’ve ruined my entire fami--ah!”
He hissed and his hand jerked away. He’d sliced into his skin with the knife as tears had blurred into his eyes once more. At least now he could blame such tears on the pain. Jun spat a very explicit Korean curse as he made to move over to the sink.
 MARLIN:
Now, Mu-yeol was about to tell Jun it would be okay but then he had to go and damn near slice his hand off and that kicked him right into healing fairy mode. Jun swore and Mu-yeol followed him to the sink and turned it on so the water would rinse the cut.
“Hey, hey, sh it’s okay. Don’t think about it.” Mu-yeol said gently. “I’ll fix it, give me your hand.
With her bare hand - which was not human medical practice - Mu-yeol took Jun’s hand in his and waved his other hand over the cut which in one motion stopped the bleeding. To seal the cut however he had to rest his other hand on top of Jun’s until it felt like they held sunbeams in their hands, complete with a little golden glimmer.
He pulled his hands away, still covered in Jun’s blood, and nodded to the hand. “Good as new.”
And with a flick of his wrists so that his palms faced up Jun’s blood disappeared from his hands. “And clean.”
 JUN:
“Daebak.”
Jun did not say this.
He’d grumbled the entire time Mu-yeol tended his gash, tears stinging in his eyes. He had not heard the kitchen door open. He did not see Eomma enter. Only now he heard her soft exclamation. Jun jerked his head to see her holding freshly picked cucumbers from Appa’s garden. She had obviously brought them for Mu-yeol and Jun.
She had also, obviously, seen Mu-yeol perform magic.
“Eomma,” Jun blurted and instinctively stepped in front of Mu-yeol as if he could hide--
Eun-jung blinked several times and then scurried toward them. “Aiya, already using both our cutting boards! Where am I supposed to cut these, hmm?”
Jun blinked. He glanced at Mu-yeol--
Eun-jung pushed her way between them. “Junnie, the gim please.”
“Eomma…”
“Stop standing there with your mouth open, you’ll eat a fly,” Eomma huffed. She looked at Mu-yeol. “Does this kid have rice stuffed in his ears? What?” A pause. “Are we still pretending I don’t know?”
 MARLIN:
Mu-yeol stood there frozen like an ice block as his eyes flitted between Jun and Eun-jung. He used magic. He used magic on Jun (to help him!) and she didn’t even flinch. Apart from a soft exclamation of sur— no, not even surprise. She’d sounded impressed. Amazed? But not surprised.
And most importantly she didn’t seem angry.
“I— what. Wait, what.” Mu-yeol finally stammered, looking at Jun as if to ask if he knew she knew.
“You knew?” He asked quietly, barely above a whisper. “And you don’t care? For how long?”
 JUN:
Jun watched his mother sigh, then smile gently at Mu-yeol.
They had a rule in their household, very vague as to apply to many things. The rule was this: don’t talk about it. It could mean the recurring billywig blight that kept attacking their lettuce. It had meant Abeoji’s cancer. It definitely meant the many strange clients the Moon Market served, ‘strange’ applying to couples like Simba and Berlioz and to fairies like Mu-yeol. While these things were not altogether strange to Jun, he understood his parents’ stubborn silence as a conditional acceptance, for Swynlake had been what Abeoji could afford, and now that they were here-- it was home, flaws and all. They must respect those flaws.
At least, that’s what Jun thought. Now? He felt like he’d just sliced his whole thumb off, even though the pain had vanished. What the hell was going on, eh?!
“Oh, I don’t know!” Eun-jung said as she shrugged and laughed, though something in her sweet eyes remained sad. “Nam-minnie would always lose his hats, running around the store! You two aren’t so clever as you think. But you never said anything; I didn’t think you wanted us to know. It isn’t our business.” She shrugged a second time as she skinned the cucumber down.
“You’re okay with it?!” Jun blurted.
Eun-jung shot him a glare. “Eh, why wouldn’t I be?”
“Because!”
“They’re the Baes! What was I going to do, stop talking to them?” And though Jun knew she did not mean to, his Eomma blushed and looked back at her cucumbers, sucking her teeth as though Jun was ridiculous.
But--he understood at once. It was like he had always thought, the same reason why Jun had never said anything, following the rule of the Moon household to the strictest letter. The last thing he had wanted to do was take away one of Eomma’s friends. She hadn’t wanted to lose Mu-yeol, either.
“Didn’t I tell you to get the gim?”
Jun made a face. “Eommmaaaaaa.”
 MARLIN:
Eun-jung knew.
Either she’d always known or she came to know and it didn’t matter to her, because she still invited them over for Chuseok; she still let Nemo sleep over with Tae; she still gently scolded Mu-yeol for telling Nemo to always help with dishes when he sleeps over.
Had it not been for his being well-versed in Korean human culture, where showing the emotions he wanted to display now was frowned upon, he might have burst into tears and hugged her. He still almost did.
“Tae eomma…” he said quietly — of course getting back to chopping onions because Chuseok meals waited for no touching revelation — “And you...don’t have any questions? It’s okay if you do. I owe you that much for intending to lie.”
 JUN:
Eomma went quiet for a moment, but her hands didn’t stop. The knife banged against the cutting board as she sliced up the cucumbers, her movements quick and even. Jun watched, but those hands did not hesitate. Eomma did not seem to be uncomfortable either-- just focused on her task. Though he would be the first to admit that there was more he didn’t know about his parents. After all, he hadn’t known this! He’d foolishly kept a secret he didn’t need to keep. All this time, thinking he was protecting the Moons-- yah, what good was his gesture now?
Though he wondered. About Abeoji. What about Abeoji?
Eomma glanced at Jun first, probably sensing the loudness of such thoughts, but then smiled at Mu-yeol.
“Eh, only if you want to share. I’ve lived in this town too long, I know such things are sensitive. It’s best to be polite.”
Jun’s cheeks heated, hearing the lecture for him in it.
“Though--” she paused again, dropping her eyes. She tried to sound casual. “Can all fairies do that? What you did for Junnie? Is that why you look so young?”
MARLIN:
That was the one thing about Korean human culture that really, truly, clashed with fairy culture. The whole ‘don’t ask about anything’ thing. He gave her permission, with his previous statement, and was incredibly thankful she did bite the bait, if only nibbled at it.
He chuckled low in his throat and got back to cutting vegetables, albeit slowly, before Eun-jung scolded him for just being a decoration in her kitchen.
“Not all fairies, only fairies like me. We’re all born with what we call Talents, and that’s our magic. Mine is healing, just like my youngest brother and one of my grandfathers. My parents were - are, they’re still alive - a Scout talent and Pixie Dust talent. Which means my father helps protect the Hollow, and my mother harvests and maintains the pixie dust supply for the whole Hollow. I look so young because once we hit about twenty-five we age slower than humans; a fairy’s lifespan is generally 150-200 years. Our Hollow Queen or King lives for centuries. My father is 103 and my mother is 75.”
Mu-yeol awkwardly cleared his throat. “Sorry. That was probably a lot.”
 JUN:
Yah, talk about overexplaining. Though Jun only thought that because he was so used to underexplaining-- to excuses and hand-waving and looking the other direction. All such things became habits and habits were hard to break, even when there was no reason to keep them now. He saw the same behavior in his Eomma-- as she blinked and looked uncertain as to react to any of that.
He wondered if she was thinking about Abeoji.
Jun was thinking about Abeoji.
Jun was thinking about how he had begged Mu-yeol to do something, and Mu-yeol said that he could not. It was hopeless, of course it was, and it was not Mu-yeol’s fault, but bitterness filled Jun anyway as his hyung spoke of living so long after healing Jun’s hand like it was nothing. Why did some creatures get such blessings when humans were forced to labor for the mere handful of years? Abeoji had only been sixty-one. Sixty-one. And he was gone.
After a brief pause, Eomma nodded as though no such pause occurred. “Ahhh, I know about talents, of course. I did not know they weren’t all-- I though it was all in nature and we could get you to help our tomatoes grow.” Her eyes twinkled, all in jest. “But healing, yah, that’s very important. You must be so respected.”
MARLIN:
Mu-yeol had already unloaded on Jun how very much not respected the Baes were in the Hollow, so he wasn’t sure how to answer Eun-jung.
“At the clinic I am.” He didn’t lie because that was true.
This was Eun-jung’s first Chuseok without her husband. He wouldn’t depress her by telling her about why outside of the clinic he and Nemo were a little...not everyone’s favorite.
“Talents are unpredictable. None of my siblings have the same as my parents. But, Nemo is the same as his mother was. It just depends. On what, I’m not sure.”
JUN:
Jun was still watching his eomma as if she might transform in a moment-- turn from the sweet woman he knew that she was into the woman who ripped the covers off the bed and started shouting at her children if they stayed asleep for too long.
But of course Eomma didn’t. Why would she yell at Mu-yeol? There was no reason to yell at Mu-yeol. They were very different people, his eomma and his hyung, and yet it seemed there was enough similar between them that they both wanted-- to be kind to each other, to forgive each other for the things they might disagree on.
It made Jun’s heart felt so soft and tender. He rubbed at his chest. Maybe it was just heartburn.
“Ooooooh, I see. Well, that’s children for you anyway. Junnie takes after Appa, doesn’t he?” she smiled at Jun and turned Jun’s whole face red.
Jun sucked his teeth as if he were disagreeing.
“Who knows why they do? Eh, Junnie, start rolling these.”
Jun had no choice to come forward to arrange the gimbap.
Eomma turned to face Mu-yeol then-- and her face looked much more serious. “Mu-yeol ssi, I do hope… I think-- I am sorry,” she finally settled on. She bowed her head slightly. “If you felt that our family would not welcome yours if we knew about your heritage. I think, when we were younger… Yoon-seok and I, there was a lot we didn’t know how to talk about. There’s still so much. But I hope you will still feel safe here.”

Loathing....Right? Ch. 2
Read Chapter Two Here
Harry woke with a start, immediately sitting up and looking around, he let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding when he remembered the previous night. After casting a quick tempus he realized it was still early, breakfast didn't start for another hour and there was no way Ron was awake, Hermione maybe, but Ron slept like the dead until at least 8, usually giving them an hour to get ready, eat, and go to class. Harry knew he wouldn’t be able to sleep again so he decided to get ready and see who was in the common room.
It was just after 6:30 so Harry tried to be quiet, no one needed to be awake yet, he showered and got dressed then made his way down the stairs. As he looked around Harry saw an unusual sight: Hermione was sitting with Parkinson, and they were laughing.
“Uh hey ‘Mione.” Harry recoiled, he heard the questioning in his voice, he didn’t want to sound rude.
“Oh! Harry, you’re up early, Pansy and I were just talking!”
“Hey, Potter.”
“Oh yeah, hi, sorry I'm still a little tired. So, I see you guys are getting along.” He glanced at Hermione and hoped to convey a well-meaning ‘what's happening?’ and it seemed to work.
“Harry, last night Pansy and I stayed up talking, trying to make sure this year wasn't weird, neither of us expected to get along this well!”
“Yeah, Hermione here is unexpectedly funny.”
Harry could only stare, he just heard Parkinson call her Hermione and not Granger or anything unsavory. He quickly regained some composure and responded.
“That's good, I guess. What have you guys been talking about, I can’t imagine you having much in common.” He trusted Hermione’s judgment, he might not start calling her Pansy but he could at least try to be nice.
“Well, we both realized quickly that there is one thing we have in common that is entertaining and quite hilarious.” The girls glanced at each other and giggled, that didn’t seem right coming from Hermione but Harry decided not to mention it.
“And this funny thing is…..?” Curiosity got the better of him.
“Both of our best friends have a very unhealthy fixation on one another.” A small laugh escaped, Hermione was trying to keep it together and was failing.
“Wait what do you mean? I don’t get it?” He was Hermione’s best friend, what was she talking about an ‘unhealthy fixation.’
“Don’t worry about it Harry, I’m sure it will stop soon enough.”
The girls in front of him were laughing again, and Harry still didn’t know why. He was too tired to think about it and resolved to ask Hermione later.
“Well anyway, it's nice you guys are getting along, unlike me and my roommate.” The girls shared a look.
“What do you mean Potter? Has my Draco been entirely too rude to you? I’m sure I could get him to play nice.” Another glance passed between Hermione and Parkinson.
“He didn’t have time to be rude. He barely said two sentences to me, but it doesn’t really matter, I can't imagine we'll all be giggling together after one night like you two.” He hoped his voice didn’t sound disappointed because he wasn’t.
“Oh don’t worry Potter I’m sure everything will be giggles and sunshine in no time.” The girls shared yet another look.
“That wasn’t the point, and plus he hates me so I won't hold my breath for that sunshine.” Harry could hear the disappointment in his own voice and didn’t know why.
“Oh Harry, don’t worry it’s only been one day. Also, why are you up so early?”
Harry was grateful for the subject change, he was starting to get uncomfortable, like the women next to him knew something he didn’t, and knowing Hermione, he wouldn't be surprised if they did.
“Oh, I just woke up and knew I wouldn’t be able to fall back asleep, new surroundings and all, y’know?”
“Yeah I get it, just remember you do need to sleep at some point, ok?”
“Yeah ok. So why are you guys up early?” Harry turned his focus to Parkinson’s face, she didn’t look tired and neither did Hermione.
“Last night I agreed to let Pansy put some makeup on me and so we got up early just in case neither of us liked it the first time!”
Hermione didn’t look like she was wearing makeup, but looking at her now, after it was mentioned, Harry did notice a shimmer on her eyes and a suspiciously even skin tone. Hermione was always a little flushed, according to Ron, so now Harry could see it, a little.
“Wow, you two had a slumber party did you? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, Hermione here is way too friendly to everyone, so I guess that would apply tenfold to her new roommate.” Hermione didn’t miss the teasing tone in his voice.
“There is no such thing as being too friendly Harry, we were both just happy to have a girl around, being best friends with two guys can be tiring, another thing we both related to.”
Hermione’s comment brought Harry’s attention back to the giggling he heard earlier, he still didn’t know what they were talking about.
“Plus it’s way more fun to do Hermione’s makeup than my own, I already know what it's like to do my own makeup but Hermione’s is way different. We have completely different facial structures!” Pansy couldn’t help but get excited, she finally had a friend that didn’t just want her for the status, not that she had much of one anymore.
“Hey, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, I’m actually happy about this.”
“Yeah well try and rub some of that off on Ron, I don’t know what to expect from him, I wonder what his night was like with Zabini.”
“Well, you do remember what I told you about Blaise last night right? Do you think Weasley would go for it? I mean of course not right away but, eventually?” Harry didn’t even try to decipher Parkinson’s words, they already had their own little code and he knew it would take way too much energy, more than he had, to figure it out.
“Well just based on this whole summer I’d say there’s about a fifty-fifty shot maybe even a little more if he plays his cards right. But I’d say there is an even better chance for the OTHER thing we talked about, I just think it will take longer, stubbornness is a bitch and they both won't get over it.”
Even more cryptic than the first, Harry decided to just ask.
“What does that even mean, how do either of you understand what just came out of Hermione’s mouth? It's kind of scary that you guys are in sync already.”
“Harry you don’t need to worry about it, leave that to us.”
“I’m not even going to unpack that, so Parkinson, tell me about yourself. I trust Hermione’s judgment so you must be pretty decent to get her as a friend.”
“Well, what do you want to know?”
“I don’t know, I was hoping you would have a place to start, maybe start with um, I don’t know your other friends? Your type of humour? Just give me something that won’t make my head hurt.”
Her and Hermione shared a glance and a nod.
“Well I can tell you about my friends, why don’t I start with Draco hmm?”
Both girls noticed Harry subconsciously perk up at the mention of his name, it brought a chuckle to their lips.
“Uh, I mean if that’s where you want to start I won’t say no.”
“Well ok, Draco and I have known each other since we were little, our parents stupidly promised us to each other, tough luck on that one cause neither of us is the right gender for the other. We tried for a while but after hand-holding, everything else was just wayyy too weird. We couldn’t look each other in the eyes for days after we knocked noses while trying to kiss. It was actually quite funny, two repressed teenagers trying their best to be straight, it didn’t work. Obviously.”
Harry’s eyes were wide, but he quickly corrected himself.
“Oh, so you’re gay then?” He hoped to come off as nonchalant, he wasn't sure if it worked.
“Yeah. Why is that a problem for you? Because if it is then you are going to have a much bigger problem really soon.” Pansy was defensive and that just confirmed his fear, it wasn’t nonchalance, it came off as snobby.
“If it was a problem for me then I would be knee-deep in dealing with a lot of self-hate right now, seeing as I am a gay man.” Harry looked smug as if that was his plan, it wasn’t.
“Oh, ok just making sure, I would have had a fit if Draco had to room with a homophobe. He would have been miserable and knowing him he would only make it worse for himself by bringing random guys back to the dorm to get a rise.”
“Oh, should I be wary of that? Random guys in the dorm?”
“Oh, I don’t think you will have to worry about random guys in your room. Draco has been pining for far too long to give up now, even if he doesn’t know it.”
“Oh, he is pining after someone? Would it be anyone I know?” He quickly rushed to add “Not that I care or anything, actually, you know what, forget I asked, it doesn’t matter anyway.”
Harry’s face was red, and he wasn’t really sure why.
“Well I’ll answer anyway, yes you know them, or I would at least hope you do, and I’m starting to think he has a good chance.”
“Oh.”
“Hey, are you alright Harry?”
“Yeah, of course, why wouldn’t I be? I’m just getting hungry ‘s all.” There was no reason for him to react to this new information, he was just hungry like he told Hermione.
“Well we still have like fifteen till breakfast, do you want to walk down?”
“Yeah, why don’t we all walk down, we can see the table McGonagall set up for us, but Potter, before we go, can you wake up Draco? He’ll be mad if I ‘abandoned’ him for breakfast, the absolute drama queen.”
“Um, why don’t you go. I don’t really want to wake up a sleeping Malfoy, in fact, the school motto warns directly against it. I don’t quite fancy being hexed for trying to wake him up.”
Pansy laughed “Don’t worry Potter, the sleeping Dragon won’t hurt you.”
“Ok, but if I come back out badly injured it's on you.”
Harry made his way back to his dorm room, as he opened the door Malfoy was already awake, and he looked to be ready.
“Oh, Malfoy. You’re awake. Good, anyway Parkinson wanted me to tell you that we’re about to go to the Great Hall for breakfast.”
Malfoy looked shocked. “You have been talking to Pansy?”
“Oh yeah, her and Hermione are roommates and they seem to be getting along well, I spent the morning talking with them, and now we’re going to breakfast.”
“Oh, ok. I’ll be down in a minute.”
“I’ll let her know I guess.”
“He said he’ll be down in a minute.”
“Oh good, so he was already awake?”
“Yeah how’d you know?”
“It takes him a while to get ready, if he said he’ll be down soon, he would have had to be awake already.”
“Oh.” Parkinson seemed to make him say that a lot.
“Speak of the Dragon.”
“Don’t call me that Pansy, you know how I feel about it.”
“Well Mr. grumpy why don’t we all head to breakfast.”
“Have I walked into the wrong universe? Are you suggesting that we, two Slytherins, and them, two Gryffindors, go to breakfast, together?”
“My my Draco, you need to get caught up quickly, basically Hermione is great and she let me do her makeup and everything. And, well, Potter here comes well recommended.”
“Well it's weird.”
“No one said it wasn’t dear, we have all just decided to ignore the weird, you should too.”
“Fine, let's go. I’m hungry.”
The unlikely group walked together fueled by the sounds of Hermione and Pansy’s banter, they really adapted quickly.
“Look we are right on time, how lovely, Draco why don’t you come sit next to me so Hermione and I can sit across from each other, she’s more entertaining than you are in the morning.”
“What’s next? A seating chart?” Malfoy complained, even though he fell into the spot next to Pansy.
Not wanting to make it weird Harry sat next to Hermione, across from Draco. The four quietly started to put their plates together, Pansy broke the momentary silence.
“Alright, Hermione and I are on a first-name basis so, Harry, why don’t you start calling me Pansy, this whole last name thing will get stale very quickly.”
“Uh, sure Pansy, I guess.”
“I’m still calling you Potter and Granger, the last name thing won’t get stale to me.”
“I would expect more from you Draco, why not at least call her Hermione?”
“Fine Potter and Hermione at least in the presence of Pansy.”
“It’s better than nothing and I didn’t expect you to concede so quickly if I would have known I would have thrown Weasely into the mix as well.”
“Why do you get to call him Weasely, but I don’t get to call her by her last name?”
“I have yet to talk with him so we aren’t on a first-name basis yet, please get over yourself, your behavior is unbecoming.”
“Whatever, it's too early for this.”
The table fell into a casual conversation, mostly about classes and professors until they heard familiar voices come through the door.
“There is no way you actually believed that! It is a children’s story! Meant for little kids!”
“Oh stop! Look, Ginny was still young enough for it so my parents never stopped. How was I supposed to know there were no floo powder worms?”
“That is ridiculous, you are supposed to know because of a little thing called common sense! And to think I was beginning to think you were smart!”
“Hey! Look it’s not like I still believe it!”
The loud pair got closer to the table where their friends were sitting and Blaise spoke up,
“Draco, Pansy, can you believe that Weasley thought Floo Powder worms were a real thing until he was twelve. Twelve! Hilarious right!”
“Oh my gosh Weasley, that is a children’s story meant to keep them away from traveling by Floo without an adult, how could you possibly believe something would eat your hands if you touched Floo Powder without an adult!” Pansy laughed between sentences, she couldn't help it, she was amused.
Ron’s face nearly matched his hair as he slid in next to Harry, across from Blaise. It took the two a moment to realize how everyone was sitting.
“Wait am I in the right place, were you guys sitting with the Slytherins?” Ron askes as if he wasn’t just laughing with one, as an old friend.
“Yep, the same place where you come in cracking up with Zabini, Ron” Harry spoke, teasing his friend, who was finally returning to normal color.
“Does that mean everyone is getting along with their roommates? Maybe McGonagall knows what she's doing after all.” At Ron’s words, Harry snuck a peek at Draco and immediately looked down, he wouldn’t call whatever was between them ‘getting along.’
“Well Weasley, I’d say so, Hermione and I have had a wonderful time, and even Harry here has been welcome.”
“Wait a second Hermione and Harry, since when is everyone so chummy?”
“Well, Weasley, since there are no more evil men looming over our shoulders and we all got assigned to live with basically strangers, is when.” Pansy was witty, and she knew it too.
“Well I don't want to be left out, call me Ron.” He said it with such ease as if they all hadn’t spent the better part of the last seven years at each other's throats but, it seemed, a war will do that. It puts things into perspective and sometimes a childish rivalry that never went anywhere will dissipate.
“Nope, I'm still calling you Weasley and him Potter, Hermione is the only one I agreed to”
“Well, I’ll call you Ron, Harry, and Hermione, as long as I am Blaise.”
“Alright then, I don’t care, I’m calling everyone by their given names whether you use mine or not.” Ron directed a pointed look at Draco.
“Are we done deciding on names to call each other? This has gotten old, quick.”
“Yes yes, Mr. grumpy we’re done.”

Authors Note:
I-am-so-damn-sorry-this-took-so-long.
I have no excuse, nothing was coming and then last night and today…BOOM it hit. This is a slightly angsty filler chapter. I hope you like it.
It was 8 am and Adelaide was timidly walking into the Rocketman production office at Bray Studios, dragging her 2 make-up suitcases with her. It had been a few days since her fight with Taron. She had written at least 50 texts to him in hopes of somehow explaining herself, but nothing sounded right so they all went unsent. How could she even begin to explain herself?
She needed to give Taron time.
Today though, she was going to have to fight off her urge to stay hidden because today she would have to face him…literally. Filming was to start next week, and David, Dexter, and Matthew wanted to see a run-through of the first few looks and to do some blocking. Adelaide was also going to be shown around the lot, shown her make-up and hair trailer, meet her team and get situated.
Taron was already there when she walked in, he and David Furnish were in hushed conversation. They stopped abruptly when they realized they were no longer alone.
“Hi” Adelaide awkwardly waved.
Taron gave a tight smile but turned back to David.
“David, this is Adelaide DeFay, she is the new head of make-up that just signed on.” He explained. “Adelaide, this is David Furnish, he is one of the executive producers on Rocketman and also as you know Elton’s husband”
“Yes, Adelaide! It is so nice to finally meet you” David had such a warm and welcoming smile. He made his way over to her, kissing both her cheeks “I am so happy you were able to sign on and join our little family so quick. Tilly and Taron have spoken so highly of you and your work. Always great to have old friends working together.” He paused as his phone began to ring.
“Hold on a second darling, it is the boss man. I will be right back” He began walking out of the room “Hello my love, are you on your way?- Taron why don’t you start the tour for us, show Adelaide around and where the make-up trailer is, I believe the core make-up team is here today- okay love I am back” David walked out of the room, leaving the two in awkward silence.
Neither of them knew what to say, but the building tension could be felt. Something needed to be said, they can fight all they want outside of work but the two of them were going to have to learn to be adults and put their feelings aside for the film.
“Thank you for-”
“I’m sorry about-”
They couldn’t help the small laugh that bubbled up.
“Go ahead” Taron gestured.
“Oh um, thank you for putting in a good word for me. You didn’t have to but it means a lot”
Taron waved it off “Well it’s true. I have always told you how talented you are” He flashed a small smile her way. She never knew she could miss a smile so much.
“And you?” she asked
“Oh right, yeah” he paused, running his hand over the back of his neck “I am sorry for the other night”
“Don’t be. I deserved it” She shrugged her shoulders.
“No, you didn’t. No one deserves to be talked to like that.” He paused, trying to find his wording
“I talked to mum about it the other day. After I left Grans I kind of drove straight to Aberystwyth and stayed a couple of nights. I just needed to clear my head”
Adelaide nodded in understanding but stayed quiet.
“She’s not mad at you by the way. She wants to see you. She feels hurt but she said from the single mom perspective and what runs through a person’s mind when that stick says positive, she said she can understand the fear.” Adelaide let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding when Taron finished.
“I want to see her too” She couldn’t help the watery smile.
“Well, let’s get this tour started.” Taron clapped his hands together, taking ahold of one of the suitcases already knowing what was in them, Adelaide took them on every gig. He moved toward a back door in the corner of the room, it led out onto a spacious back porch that overlooked the lot.
“It’s not too big but the sound stage is huge, there is an open lot next door too, we’re doing the carnival scene in there in a few weeks.”
The two made their way around the lot, Taron showed her the sound stage, the crew was in working on what looked to be the Troubadour. He showed her where craft services was, both of them grabbing a quick snack to take with them as they walked. The tour concluded outside the make-up trailer.
Tilly was sitting on the steps leading up to the trailer.
“And this is your palace, it comes with your very own Tilly” Taron jokes, giving his best Vanna White impersonation as they stood outside the trailer, Tilly throwing up her best jazz hand to add to it.
“I am going to see if Dex or any of the guys are here. You get settled and we’ll be back to run through looks. Tilly can show you around inside and the wardrobe trailer” He leaned in, leaving a kiss on Adelaide’s cheek, awkwardly stalling for a second when he realized what he was doing.
“Right” He cleared his throat “See you soon” And he was off.
Tilly made her way over to Adelaide when she didn’t move right away.
“Looks like you two are trying to bury the hatchet?” Tilly questioned.
Adelaide shrugged “I have no idea. This is the first we talked since the fight the other night”
“Oh yeah, the fight that happened when Taron came over at 3 am the other morning. Not booty call hours or anything” Tilly teased; Adelaide rolled her eyes.
“How many times do I have to tell you, nothing happened, He came over, we talked fo-”
“Yeah yeah, you talked for a little bit, nothing too detailed, then you went to sleep, the two of you in your bed and then woke up sometime later and fought. You already plead your case and since I have no other evidence or witnesses to go off, I will just have to take your word for it” Tilly looked at her accusingly. Adelaide rolled her eyes.
“Can we just get in the trailer? I want to get my stuff set up before they come in for the run through” Adelaide gave Tilly an annoyed look and started making her way inside.
Adelaide had just finished rolling out her makeup brushes when there was a knock on her trailer door, a second later Taron walked in with Jamie and Richard, followed by Dexter, Matthew, David, and lastly Elton himself. In all the commotion of the last week, with emphasis on the last few days, Adelaide hadn’t even put any thought into meeting Sir Elton John and yet here she stood just feet away from a man that had been an idol of hers for as long as she can remember.
“Adelaide!” Dexter tossed his hands in the air before making his way over to her for a hug.
“Have you had a chance to meet your team?” Adelaide nodded at the question.
Tilly had introduced her to her team of 10 amazing make-up artists and hairstylist, a few she had meet at the mixer a few nights before. There was a much larger team that would come in for the dancers and extras make-up but these core people would be working on the main cast.
“Good, let’s get the rest of the introductions done” With a small wave to Jamie and Richard,  Dexter introduced Adelaide to the 3 men she hasn’t met yet, she smiled politely, said ‘Hello, nice to meet you” and shook their hand, that is until they got to Elton.
“And lastly, Adelaide, this is Elton. Elton, this is Adelaide” instead of being a normal person and shaking his hand, her body instantly went into a curtsy without any help from her. She instantly stood straight up, eyes wide and face as red as could be.
“Oh my god, did I just curtsy?” She covered her mouth with her hand as she started to laugh “I am so sorry” Everyone laughed with her.
“Darling, I have been greeted in far stranger ways, I can promise you” Elton reached out and shook her hand. She smiled, still red-faced.
“Well let’s get started, shall we?” Dexter clapped his hands together.
An hour later and the group was standing around staring at Taron as he stood on a slightly raised platform in white coveralls over a tight navy blue, three-quarter sleeve shirt and 4-inch platform heels.
“I don’t think that flipper is going to work, I think it is going to hinder his singing” Dexter commented in reference to the false teeth Adelaide just had Taron put in “Everything else looks great but that flipper needs to go”
“But Dex I think we need to have that gap, it’s apart of the look. It’s apart of Elton” Taron tried to argue but he was only proving Dex right when he struggled around a few of the vowels and make Elton sound like Oton. After Dex gave Taron a ‘see what I am talking about’ look, he turned to Adelaide.
“Any other ideas for the gap?” Adelaide thought or a moment.
“Give me some time, we’ll figure it out”
They moved on, Taron went in to change into the next costume and Jamie in a pair of bellbottom jeans over a pair of brown cowboy boots, a brown leather belt with an oval buckle and a green plaid shirt tucked in.
“We need a different shirt color” Tilly commented from next to Adelaide.
“Agreed” Dex nodded.
“Maybe lighter?” David added “something blue”
Tilly walked over to one of the many racks of clothes, this one labeled ‘Jamie’ and flipped through the selection, as she did Richard made his way out of the dressing room in a coal colored pinstriped suit. A slight heel in the black boots, a tie, and handkerchief. He was struggling to do up the gold watch, Adelaide walked over and helped him fasten the watch before stepping back to take in the look. His hair was very full and dark brown.
“Dex” Adelaide called his attention as she walked back up to Richard, she had him step off the platform as she stood upon it and began messing with his curly locks, “I think we need to go darker on the hair” she looked over to the John Reid imageboard “His brown is too light, I think we need to do black” She looked at Richard who was still taller than her without the platform.
“Would you want me to dye it or talk with the wig-master?” Adelaide asked her friend.
“I would rather dye it then deal with wigs each day this summer, already gonna be sweatin’ my bloody balls off in the suits” he joked.
The day continued on like that for a few hours, only breaking for a much-needed lunch. The boys tried on their first few outfits, only a few alterations needed to be made. Adelaide had made plans with Richard to get his hair dyed in a couple of days. Right now, she found herself in almost the same position she had this morning. Just her and Taron, the rest of the group had calls they needed to make about the production, lines they needed to run and alterations they claimed they were going to start tonight, the last one running out of the make-up trailer at a suspicious speed.
Adelaide currently had her fingers deep in Taron’s locks, Taron giving an overexaggerated groan each time she pulled a little hard.
“Oh hush, the wig glue does not hurt that bad coming off” she commented after a particularly loud groan.
“It does when it’s pulling baby hairs” he hissed, she shook her head at him.
They found themselves falling back into a comfortable silence. They were good at being quiet together, they would sit for hours sometimes, the two of them reading, Adelaide would be painting while Taron memorized lines, they like the silence.
A sudden giggle from Taron ended that.
“What?” She questioned.
“You curtsied for Elton” the sentence didn’t even get fully out before he was doubling over with laughter.
“Like-” laughing “like full-on-“ laughing “oh god, full-on curtsy”
Adelaide stared daggers at the back of his head before giving one last hard tug that may have had some hair attached to it. Taron yelped but continued laughing.
“Oh god, and your face when you realized. Oh Doll, I wish I had been filming.” He had actual tears in his eyes at this point. “Oh it made my whole day so thank you” he wheezed out another laugh before he began to calm down.
“I really don’t like you right now” she pinned the wig to the mannequin and pulled the nude-colored cap off Taron’s head.
As she throws face soap and a make-up remover towel at him her phone began to ring on the counter. She quicked a look at it and saw a picture of her mom and Elea flash on the screen alerting an incoming facetime.
She quickly grabbed the phone, hoping Taron didn’t notice but seeing as how the phone was directly in front of him, she knew it wasn’t missed once she felt the tension come flooding back.
“Um, wash your face. I’ll be back in just a second” she excused herself to the other room. She clicked accept and a way to close-up view of Eleanor’s teeth came into view.
“Hi mommy!” She smiled wide.
“Hi Little Bird!” Adelaide laughed “why don’t you pull the phone away a bit so mommy can see all of your pretty face?” Eleanor did just that.
“There’s my pretty girl”
Taron stood for a second, looking at the door Adelaide just disappeared behind, he wanted so badly to be apart of that conversation. He shifted uncomfortably before he went to the sink in the corner and began washing off the lite make-up that had been put on. His eyes kept looking to the door when he would hear what sounded to be a child’s laugh or excited voice.
As he dried his face he slowly walked toward the door.
“Mama, Grandma said we get to come be with you in 3 weeks” a tiny voice said excitedly. The voice sounded just like his little sister Rosie.
“That is right Little Bird” he couldn’t help the smile that pulled at his lips when he heard Adelaide use the nickname she had hoped to pass on to her child one day.
Her child...their child.
He needed fresh air.
The large make-up trailer suddenly felt like it was shrinking in on him. He grabbed his messenger bag off the couch, made sure he had his phone, wallet, and keys. He had changed back into his clothes after they had finished pinning what needed to be altered. Once he was ready he hastily made his way out of the trailer, taking a deep breath as he walked out into the late-afternoon sun.
He knew he needed to get a hold on himself before he went back in. His anger was starting to bubble over again and he refused to let himself explode like he did the other night. The intruding smell of cigarettes caught his attention. He looked up to see Richard walking his way, a smoke hanging from his lips as he walked, his fingers free to type away on his phone.
“Hey, Dicky!” Taron called out “Bum a smoke off you?” he asked when Richard looked up.
“Course, thought you quit though?” he asked as he handed the cigarette over.
“Yeah, just need to calm my nerves” he explained as he lit the smoke.
“Yeah, been meaning to ask you, just didn’t want to ruffle anything up. You good mate?”
At that moment both boys looked up at the sound of a trailer door opening, Adelaide took a step out, she looked around the lot, her eyes stopping on the boys as they stood in a small plume of smoke.
“Got time for a pint?” Taron asked, his eyes still locked with Adelaide’s.
“Yeah Mate, where you thinking?”
“Anywhere, just need a drink and an ear” He nodded to Adelaide but followed Richard to the main office to get their stuff before they left.
