You had been at the Hotel for a few months now, working on those trust exercises that Charlie persuaded — forced — you to join in. You loved the girl, but you found her methods to be a bit too idealistic at times. Especially since during your time as a human, you saw just how cruel life could actually be.
Still, you joined in because you came to love the girl. You came to love the rest of the staff and visitors too.
Whenever you came back to the Hotel after a long day of doing whatever, there Husker was with your favourite cocktail or Angel would be there to crack his stupid jokes and innuendos that would always make you huff out a laugh no matter how tired you were. Vaggie was a fun person to be around. There was quite a bit of anger in her, but you couldn't help but like how assertive she could be. You honestly admired her for being such a strong woman, something you thought you could never be. Charlie was just a ray of sunshine and though Nifty was weird, you found her almost endearing, just like Sir Pentious and his nerdy displays.
There was one person you could never calm yourself around though and it was the host of the Hotel.
Alastor, the Radio Demon.
Perhaps it was his reputation that made you feel so uncomfortable around him, but you refrained from speaking to him as much as you could. Those eyes and that never-ending smile seemed to follow you wherever you went, though, and you found that wherever you went, he was there just waiting.

The Hotel was practically empty by the time afternoon hit. Husk was out getting more things for the bar alongside Nifty, who needed to buy more materials for cleaning. Angel Dust was at work. Charlie and Vaggie seemed to be on a date, of some sorts, encouraged by you as they seemed to be rather stressed these few days because of the upcoming Extermination.
As for Alastor... probably up in his radio tower.
And for you? You were lounging on the couch in the lobby of the hotel, scrolling through various television channels and hoping to find one that would entertain you for long enough.
"Hello, my dear!" The static-filled voice almost made you fall off the couch as you looked up to see the Radio Demon standing over you. "What are you doing?" Alastor inquired, looking at you before his gaze shifted to the TV in front of you, his eyes narrowing in what appeared to be annoyance. "Oh, you're watching a picture box, how quaint." He attempted to remain cordial in his speech, but it was clear he wanted to wreck that television.
He reached for the remote and pressed a few buttons. "What are you doing?" This time, it was your turn to question him.
"Turning off this pesky little thing, dear! You know, too much of this," he pointed his cane at the TV, "rots your brain!" He chuckled as he finally pressed the correct button to turn it off.
"You should get off the couch and get some exercise. Today is far too nice of a day to be wasted on such idle activities." He grinned wider as he his clawed hands grabbed yours and dragged you up.
"H-hey!" You yelled, shocked by the sudden touch. Despite the fact Alastor hated someone invading his personal space, he seemed to love to invade others.
"I know you don't like to exercise, so I have come up with a rather fun activity for us to partake in." Your eyes widened at his words. What in Hell's name did he mean by that? You had seen what Alastor viewed as 'fun' and you were now worried. He snapped his fingers as he dragged you to the middle of the lobby, a radio materialising on the bar desk as it began to loudly play some jazz music. "Some dancing ought to do the trick." He smiled.
"Um, Alastor." You peeped, "I'm glad you want to do an... activity with me. But I don't know how to dance. Let alone dance for some jazz music." You grinned awkwardly up at him as he looked down at you and tutted his lips.
"Ah, no worries." He grinned as he snapped his fingers again, causing the music on the radio to shift from jazz to classical. "We can start slow, of course. I could never force a lady to do something she didn't like." Well, that was ironic, considering what he was doing now.
"Hold on." He grinned as he grabbed your waist, using his other hand to guide yours to his shoulders. Without being able to respond, he dragged you across the floor.
"One, and a two. One and a two." He demonstrated how his feet moved about the floor, forcing you to follow against his steps as he swirled you about the hall. "See, you're already getting a hang of it." You couldn't help but smile at his words.
"Heh, yeah I guess I am." You grew more relaxed as you looked up at Alastor and his toothy grin and ash face.
He grinned wider. "I'm so glad that you are starting to feel comfortable around me, my darling." He expressed as he spun you around. "I was simply so hurt when I saw you interacting with the others but not me." He pulled you closer to his chest, "Might I ask why?" Alastor asked, the static filter on his voice disappearing slightly to reveal his human voice.
"I guess we just have personality clashes?" You tried to lie, not wanting to admit that you were intimidated and scared witless thanks to this demon, especially with the way he stalked you in the shadows at times.
"Haha!" He laughed comically. "My, what an intriguing assumption, my dear Belle!" He exclaimed as he spun you around and dipped you down. "I think we have more in common than you think."
"Like what?" You gasped out as he held you down, your hair brushing against the floor as you gazed up at him.
"Well, we're both sinners."
You deadpanned at his explanation. "That's it?"
"Well, there's certainly more, but why not leave it up for us to discover?" He suggested with a grin before pulling you up, slamming your face into his chest. Alastor gripped your chin in his sharp hands, his smile growing more sinister.
"I would certainly love to know more about you." His smile grew brighter, his eyes glimmering with a hint of intrigue and desire.
Shit, somehow that was the only thought running through your mind.

CHALLENGE:
Nov. 1st-30th push the excuses aside and start making those positive personal changes you’ve been giving yourself excuses not to start. Keep yourself accountable through regular postings and check ins and be part of an encouraging group helping each other stay on track.
HOW TO JOIN:
Start following the tag #noexcusenovember to keep related posts appearing in your feed! Next, write up your short term goal or goals for the month of November and post them on your blog or send them to @m0tiv8me. These can be as simple or elaborate as you wish but it should be challenging for you or something you’ve been wanting to work toward but have kept making excuses about. Simple examples include 15 min of any type of exercise each day. Or do X number of push-ups daily. Cutting back on certain junk foods or toxic habits. Drinking more water, going for a daily walk. Working on building a more positive mental perspective and so on. Or you can get very detailed with a very strict specific workout routine or diet plan. Giving up a bad habit or working toward setting a new personal best in something. Or maybe each week or day is something different to keep it fun and fresh for you. Don’t feel strictly tied to exercise or diet based goals only. Think of things you'd like to improve upon but always seem to make excuses about and then focus on trying to actively do away with those excuses for the whole month and make that thing or things happen each day.
This is meant to be self directed so you can tailor it to your own skill and ability levels without feeling too over or underwhelmed. REMEMBER, make it challenging but realistic to your own ability level. Don’t be afraid to stack multiple goals if your wish. For example my own personal goals will include: Drink 1 gallon of water each day. Do at least a 30 minutes workout each day. Which I’m purposely leaving general because I travel a lot and a gym is not always an option so it may include a broad spectrum of exercise types or varieties to fit my situation. And also getting up at 6:00am each day. To me this has been a challenge lately that I’ve been trying to work on and keep making excuses to myself. I know I can do this, it will be challenging but I don’t feel like I’m setting myself up for failure with unrealistic or unattainable goals.
HOW TO REMAIN ACCOUNTABLE:
This is the important part of this challenge. To help keep us honest and engaged accountability is key. I’m offering numerous ways the group can stay accountable during this challenge to hopefully fit various preferences.
Preferred Option: I’ll be scheduling a daily accountability post titled “No Excuse November” Day x/30” each day at 12:00am. I’ll tag all participants in this post so they don’t miss it. I encourage everyone to reblog and add their own content to it at any point in the day. The idea is to get an accountability chain going that’s easy to follow, view and partake in for the whole group. If you prefer to not reblog you can opt to just add a comment with a brief update on your efforts that day to still remain accountable.
Personal Option: Make a daily post on your own blog with pics or a write up or both highlighting how or what you did that day to work toward your goal(s) This can be as brief or as detailed as you like. Please use the tag #noexcusenovember in all posts related to this challenge so that others can more easily find them. Also tagging fellow participants is great to bolster accountability and help encourage and celebrate each others victories. I HIGHLY encourage anyone posting on their own to tag me @m0tiv8me to stay accountable so I don’t miss posts and can cheer you on.
Private Option: For anyone who may wish to remain private or not post or comment publicly I will have the submissions option enabled on my blog if you want to share there. Or feel free to provide updates to me through DM. I will briefly respond with some encouraging words to reinforce the accountability aspect. Submissions will NOT be shared unless requested to protect your privacy.
WHAT YOU WIN?:
Ultimately the hope is everyone wins by ditching their excuses for a month and kicking off healthier or positive habits. However as added incentive I’ll be doing my best to keep track of who’s staying most active, posting or sharing daily and remaining accountable. At the end of the month I’ll be giving some shoutouts and promos to the top 3 I felt were the most engaged and accountable and really crushed their excuses and made prominent progress towards their goal(s).

Dick Grayson was damned the day he intellectualized his feelings for Yn. It had made his life nearly impossible and it was driving him insane. Seeing as he had been benched, his time spent around Yn increased even if she had asked for the opposite. Kory would go down to the cave but would stay quiet for the most part. Alfred would keep an eye on her making sure she wouldn't intervene with anything. For the most part, she would be found staring daggers at Yn, who in return would ignore her childishness. Dick had been in quite the predicament and the rest knew. They would see how his eyes followed Yn's figure everywhere and how Kory would storm off fuming. Everyone wondered why they hadn't broken up yet. They could hear the arguments coming from Dick's room every other night. Kory would always bring Yn to the topic but Dick would deny it. In his mind, he found it difficult to grasp how much he loved the girl. He feared that if he spoke word of it, all he had stood for ever since he was a child would crumble. In a world full of instability, his relationship with Yn was strangely comforting because it never changed. The cycle of joking to fighting to space then all over again was something he was used to. Now, that he sort of acknowledged his feelings internally (boy would rather be dead than say them out loud), memories resurfaced and his behavior in them was clearer. He didn't scare that boy that had asked for help for confessing to Yn away just to prove he had more admirers than her, he had done it cause he didn't want someone stealing her attention from him. The time he overly criticized one of Yn's first boyfriends wasn't because she had a horrible taste in men, it was because he wanted to be the one with her. Little by little, collections of his past came to bite him in the ass. All this time, I have been trying to search for you in other people and it took you finally telling me to leave for me to notice...it took you being in the same room as Kory and seeing the comparison of the woman he fell in love and the woman he wanted to fall for. Dick was a mess and a fucking idiot.
Your scent when you walked past him made him dizzy, your laugh whenever you talked with Babs was intoxicating, your slight touch whenever you changed his bandages left him almost begging for more, the soft sway of your hips, your eyes, your lips, God those lips he wanted to kiss and get lost in for all eternity, you just you, all of you. You were his weakness and he didn't want to accept it. Finally, he was off rest, the wound already healed. Yn had advised that he'd train on one of the simulations so that she could conduct one last check and he followed accordingly. The problem is that Kory followed as well, never wanting to leave Dick alone with Yn. The simulation began and all went swimmingly. Yn hummed and was about to leave before Kory spoke up, "Would I be able to partake in some training exercises as well? Maybe sparring?" Yn looked at her and shrugged, "Sure, knock yourself out. Although I have to change the simulation so that you get the best of the best." She looked down at her iPad ready to tap the new code when Kory interrupted her, "How about sparring?" She said and sent a wink his way. He noticed those didn't have an effect on him anymore but smiled anyways. "Well, Richard is in optimal condition so I guess" Yn answered and was about to leave when Kory called out to her. "Actually, I was thinking of you. Seeing as you do have your own powers, the match can be more equal" Dick let out a little "hey!" but looked between them, unsure of what could happen. Yn had been fed up by her constant shit and done being polite, "Alright, then. Suit up" you said coldly and walked away to get your suit.
Kory and Dick walked towards the cave, both in suits. There they found the rest gearing up for patrol. "I thought Starfire wasn't allowed in," said Damian as he placed his hands on his waist. "She isn't. She just wants to spar a little" said Yn walking towards them all suited up. Jason, who had half a protein bar in his mouth as he was loading his guns, choked and Duke patted his back. You walked towards the ring and turned to Kory, "I don't have all day." She flew towards you and you both stood in position. "3...2...1...GO!" and o it began
Kory and you circled each other, waiting for the other to begin. Kory got tired of waiting and threw a punch with her left, one that you swiftly avoided. She began attacking constantly and you stayed in defense. Left hook. missed. Right kick. miss. Jump left quick, not a chance. She began to taunt you whilst hitting, "Scared?" and you smirked at her just as she threw another left hook, you caught it, pulled it, and elbowed her stomach, leaving her out of breath for a second. She regained her composure rather quickly and began to fight harder. You were taunting her by not letting her hit you. "Stop avoiding and fight like an actual warrior DAMN IT," She said through clenched teeth. "Ok" you answer and quickly start to use the fact that she had used her initial strength against her. She goes to kick you but you slide under her raised leg, stand up and kick her in the back, successfully knocking her balance off. When she turns around, she is met by a mean right hook to the jaw. She stumbles back a little and looks positively enraged. She turns to hit you with her right but you catch it and hit her with your right knee. Star was livid. She had managed to hit your shoulder, making you stumble a little, and once she threw another punch, you used her momentum to grab her arm, jump up, place your thighs on her shoulders, and flip her, successfully throwing her on her back whilst you stood over her. You let out a soft whistle and smirk back at her as she gets up "One". Finally, Star had had it, she began to use her entire force and you did the same. Fed up with the fact she was losing, Star begins to throw more punches and kicks. Block the majority of them. She sends a kick your way and you grab her leg, kicking her other one, making her fall again. "Two," you say again and Star gets up, enraged. She started to punch again but you avoided it by doing two backflips in order to get away. Blinded by anger, Starfire raised her hands and shot one of her green light beams at you. Thankfully, quick as ever, you cross your forearms, using your Amazonian bracelets as a shield and you deflect them back to her, successfully throwing her back again. "Three" you finish and smile. Dick runs over to her, whilst Jason and Steph whoop at you in cheers. Damian has a smug smirk as he crosses his arms and nods, walking away to look for his swords.
Barbara comes up to you and claps your back, "You not doing yourself any favors if you ever wanted that girl to be cordial with you" and you laugh, "I don't care for pleasantries, I demand respect and she better remember that." Barbara laughs and follows you to the changing rooms. You come out, having changed out of your suit, and don't see Kory anywhere. That will teach her that if you fuck around, you most definitely find out.
After Yn and Babs left, Kory left for her room, embarrassed by what had happened. Dick was about follow her when Bruce arrived and told them that it was time for patrol. Once patrol was done, he had come back and wanted to talk with Kory, and see how she was but found her fast asleep. Tomorrow was going to be one long ass day and Dick just KNEW it was definitely going to bite him in the ass. Why you ask? Because tomorrow was the day of the gala. Dick took a shower and slid into his bed. He sighed deeply and closed his eyes, "I'm fucked" he said before slipping into a dreamless slumber.

About: Academically smart! Otherwise? Not so much. Spent so much time doing extracurricular activities that they barely had time for any social media. Sparks works just fine, anyways. Eyes are a deep yellow-orange, with short down-and-outwards markings along the bottom of her eye mask. The feminine look is just another outfit, since their birth gender has never been told either. You will occasionally catch them looking a bit more masculine.
