identify your triggers
what causes you to procrastinate? is it fear of failure, perfectionism, boredom, or overwhelm? recognize your triggers so you can address them head-on.
2. break it down
big tasks can feel overwhelming, leading to procrastination. break them down into smaller, manageable steps and tackle them one at a time. progress, no matter how small, is still progress!
3. set clear goals
define specific, achievable goals for yourself and set deadlines. having a clear target to work towards will keep you focused and motivated.
4. create a game plan
plan your day ahead of time and schedule dedicated blocks for tasks. set realistic timelines and hold yourself accountable to them.
5. eliminate distractions
identify distractions in your environment and take steps to minimize them. whether it's turning off notifications, finding a quiet workspace, or using website blockers, create a conducive environment for productivity.
6. use the pomodoro technique
break your work into intervals, typically 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5 minute break. this technique can help increase focus and productivity while preventing burnout. (this really helps me personally!)
7. practice self-compassion
be kind to yourself when you slip up. we're all human, and occasional bouts of procrastination are normal. instead of dwelling on past procrastination, focus on what you can do right now to move forward.
8. find accountability
share your goals with a friend, family member, or coworker who can help keep you accountable. having someone to check in with can provide an extra boost of motivation.
9. reward yourself
celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small. treat yourself to something you enjoy after completing a task or reaching a milestone. positive reinforcement can help reinforce productive habits.

Accountability isn’t “my feelings don’t matter”. Accountability is “I recognize this hurts my feelings, what do I need to change to not continue to put myself in this position.”

Both Nick (James’s co-writer) and Kat (Harry’s producer) seem to have confirmed James is fine.
Now, I get a lot of people are pissed that James seems to have used suicide threats against the people trying to hold him to account for the second time. But tbh I don’t see the point of rage anymore.
This whole thing has become ridiculously distorted. Some people have decided Harry is responsible for everything that happens to James, despite their attempts to stop him from doing more damage.
Some people have fully rewritten history and now everything James has done is small beans compared to Harry repeatedly telling people not to harass James and them doing so anyway.
The only thing that matters now is that James does not do this again. It’s going to be tough, but he will have to accept his content creator career has been irreparably damaged and he will need to find work outside the spotlight. As for this drama, I think all the wrong lessons will be learned. This will teach a lot of people healthy online accountability is impossible. Even if you try to hold people to account rigorously and fairly, people will still jump to harassment and then claim that was the plan the whole time. People that genuinely want to hold people accountable will keep silent for fear of people starting harassment campaigns and then blaming them. And a lot of cynical ghouls will see this and salivate at the drama clicks they might get from replicating this.
The internet is irredeemably mired in cruelty and grifters and any attempt to right a wrong can result in people abusing the situation to settle old scores or just to get off on cruelty.
Well done, everyone. We wasted another opportunity for growth and learning.

Being accountable for your mistakes and the things you've allowed in your life is important and crucial for success. At the same time, we don't live life in a vacuum and we cannot absolve other people of the responsibility in causing suffering or aiding in our pain.
Accountability is important, extreme accountability is toxic. The latter could be considered a form of gaslighting that makes us question if our reactions to others wrongdoings towards us by placing an adequate level of blame to them is rational.
You can still learn from the past experiences of hurt others have caused towards you to try to act accordingly in liue of your wellbeing in the future, and heal from it, without internalizing a toxic sense of accountability that should be attributed to others and not yourself.
Taking in the blame for other people's actions isn't "taking control over your life", it's suppressing the pain and assuming ownership for the wrong doings of others.
