DS // high fantasy donkeyskin retelling

The widower king has the last surviving dragon, which sheds its beautiful scales every year and provides the nation with wealth and prosperity. However, he promised to only remarry if he could find a wife who was dragon-touched like his first wife. When all the new queens mysteriously fall ill and die, the last dragon-touched person in all of the islands is Hana, his daughter. She must uncover the truth of the dragons' disappearance, the mysterious illness, and how the last dragon is connected—or else succumb to an incestuous marriage.

I finally got around to reading Convergence and I was honestly rather disappointed with how they characterised Viktor. I know that Convergence is an AU, but still. Comparing it to his characterisation in "House on Emberflit Alley", Convergence Viktor is much more emotional - to the point that all of his major character beats are driven by emotion, he cares less about the lives of people he is supposedly trying to help with his augmentations (even being fine with them being used as cannon fodder). I couldn't see the Viktor written in Convergence helping Naph. I could see Convergence Viktor actually replacing Naph's head with a metal one, instead of shrugging off the wild imaginations of people who fear change. Convergence Viktor is simultaneously less true to who the Machine Herald is meant to be, and truer to the horror stories that Fisher folk tell their kids to make them behave. It's sad seeing him get done like that.

Oh, you’re not alone there. I don’t think any of us were real happy about how dirty they did Viktor in Convergence. Just kinda seemed like they needed a completely morally bankrupt villain, and they molded Viktor to fit the bill. It just kinda… gave us all whiplash. Like, since his LoL release, they’ve retconned him to be less of a villain and more of a tragic victim. At the base of all of his stories, he wants to help the people of Zaun—to help make their lives and their jobs easier, to make living there safer. And while yes, he does go about it wrong sometimes, gets blinders on and gets into a pattern of thinking “my way is the best way, and they will come to see that whether they like it or not.” But generally speaking, Riot has done the work of creating depth in his character. Are there holes, sometimes massive ones? Yes. It’s Riot. But he’s come a long way from the generic mad scientist they released.

And then to go and do this? Completely strip him of his motivations, his goals, and just slap him back into the role of mad scientist. It was like… ten steps backward. (And I’m not saying I didn’t like Convergence. I was honestly happy to have new Viktor content and some of the panels were memeable as FECK.) I was also glad to see the Jayce and Viktor rivalry getting new content as well (although on that front they did Jayce kinda dirty too… like, he spoke several times to Ekko about how he’d “killed” Viktor, and he just… didn’t seem to care all that much. I know comics are a different medium, and you can’t jam pack all the micro expressions into every frame like you can with animation. But still… Jayce talked about killing Viktor like it was just another banal task on a Tuesday. Come on… these two were partners for a long time. I know there’s contention now, and perhaps the care is even gone. But there are people I’ve had falling outs with that I wouldn’t give the time of fucking day to… but I don’t want them to die. I don’t want to kill them as easily as swatting a fly on the wall.)

In the end Convergence was about Ekko coming to grips with the consequences of time travel. They needed something scary, something that Ekko’s family and friends could get involved in without compromising their characters. And they chose body augments. I just feel like this story could have been told just slightly differently, and it wouldn’t have thrown both Viktor and Jayce under the bus. Like… make it Van Klegg who wanted the mind-controlling tech put into all the augments. Maybe even Viktor doesn’t know about it. And of course misunderstandings arise, conflict happens, Viktor is still painted as the villain, but he’s not, he didn’t know, but no one believes that. This route could have at least maintained a semblance of the growth Viktor’s character has made.

IDK. I don’t hate Convergence, I’m just kinda indifferent. It’s an AU, and I’m gunna treat it that way—he’s not the Viktor we know and love. Same with Jayce. So I’ll enjoy it for what it is—amazing art of my favs I can ogle when I’m starved for content between now and S2 of Arcane.

Victor, my boy. He is trapped in that town since he was a kid, but it is also his home. He lost his mom, his sister, but he is trying, he is trying as he did but failed all those years ago. And people think that he has something wrong with him but he is trapped in his memories- but he forgets and so he draws and it is all so heartbreaking.

Randall can go fuck himself.

Jade is an asshole, selfish fucking prick, but I love him and he screams at haunted dolls and wears kitty t-shirts and has hallucinations of soldiers and dead men :3

Sara is the tortured oracle but she did pull a knife on a kid, following the instructions of those voices and I know being trapped in a town that won't let you leave will make you desperate but yeah...i haven't been able to look past that.

(She is desperately trying to make up for it and she feels so guilty and so much pain...maybe next season I will warm up to her again)

Yeah totally, season 1 was more structured. I think in trying to mount horrors upon horrors, they over did it. It could have been the night creatures + something about the dream dimension. Or night creatures + the mystery of the forest. But they went creatures + lighthouse+ radio + dreams + ballerina + dolls and + and + and + and +....

It didn't really settle. Hoping season 3 would be better.

I can talk a lot about how influential Live and Learn was for me in childhood or how Sonic Heroes' (my most fav game of this franchise) What I'm made of... was my most fav song for a VERY long time, but I'll spare the rant, lol.

Red Stars - The Birthday Massacre - Not particularly favorite song from this band (that'd probably be Kill The Lights or Happy Birthday ) but oh the RAW... They're also were my first, like, Gothic band I really got into in my teen years.

Scary Love - The Neighborhood - I love The Neighborhood, a lot of their songs are in my playlist, this one (with Crybaby and Daddy Issues) is my top favs tho. They're like a epitome of my edgy cringy almost-emo teen age era with their songs. I also cant believe they got THE Tommy Wiseau to play in this vid, that's WILD.

Gooey - Glass Animals - Glass Animals are THE band to play on bground while getting absolutely stoned out of your mind bwahaha. I mostly listen to them because I like the... vibes? of their music. Very relaxing.

Sedated - Hozier - Ohhh, Hozier.... DONT turn their songs when I'm around ESPECIALLY when we're drinking together, I WILL cry my eyes out due to some issues and associations they bring to my mind :"З8

I’ve just finished volume two of stranger things and let me tell you…..

SPOILERS BELOW. DONT READ IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN THE LAST TWO EPISODES

I had a list of theories and I was either super spot on or absolutely and totally wrong

I knew Eddie would die the hero but it didn’t make it any less sad and when I tell you I sobbed. I SOBBED. Like full body shaking sobbing my eyes out for this man. He deserved better

Dustin’s limp made me cry so hard. And the way he talk to Mr. Munson at then end was utterly heartbreaking.

Steve and Nancy have to be together in season 5. I will riot. He deserves to be happy. Nancy and Jonathan are already lying to each other unlike her and Steve are now sooo……

I wasn’t sure about Vicky’s character but I really liked her at the end so I hope her and robin are endgame. (Only if she doesn’t end up with Nancy;) )

Loved Hoppers return but I felt the Russian storyline was boring to me. I love Enzo tho and Yuri’s comeback 😁

I love Baylee so freaking much. One of my fav ships but when will was sobbing broke my heart.his coming out to Jonathan was amazing.it was written so well. it showed support without overshadowing will.

Lucas and max are adorable and I’m heartbroken they can’t be together. Also why hasn’t el talked about how she saved her. Did she give her powers? I didn’t know if anyone thought that but I kinda do.

I also have this idea that will is going to die in season five just bc with the new gate and shadow monster it makes sense to me.

I. Also think whoever Nancy doesn’t go out with or "pick” will die by sacrificing themselves next season. Or everyone will die and that’s how it ends

okay yes!! not sure if i can make it 17 exactly but here’s a list of reasons why the boiling rock is great:

that moment where mai and ty lee both betray azula. the tension. the shock. the romance!!! one of my fav scenes in the entire show tbh

zuzu risking it all for a guy who doesn’t even care whether he lives or dies. honestly sokka just has that effect on people

the riot scene being the height of comedy, and the scene that immediately follows of suki capturing the warden just being.... iconic beyond belief

chit sang hates gay people and that’s so fucking valid of him

he also hates bad grammar (seriously. this is such an underrated joke)

zuko is honestly at his best in this episode. just very adorably awkward and earnest and supportive!!! even once he joins the gaang, he’s still quite grumpy and quick to anger and insensitive to other’s feelings, but not in this episode. he respects sokka and supports him and even gives him really good advice! a good zuko episode

also a very good suki episode, in which her mental + emotional fortitude is really showcased. we see some of the conditions in which she was placed for the past 4+ months, and the fact that she refuses to leave without sokka is incredible. he wouldn’t blame her for it in the slightest, but she tells him that she’s not leaving without him as if it’s obvious. she’s so selfless and loving and strong

the scene where katara reunites with hakoda is so moving!! i love that scene!!!

that entire fight scene on the gondola is amazing, but my favorite part is when sokka has the chance to kill azula, and that moment of recognition when they all realize he could end it right there, but then he deliberately pulls back. i bet that moment haunts azula forever

the fact that the moment between sokka and zuko in the cooler is so charged and FOR WHAT . TO WHAT ENDS

oh and have i mentioned sokka

the way that this episode allows for sokka to be vulnerable and fail and rely on others to support him is so important. sokka and azula are very similar in the fact that theyve both internalized these mindsets that vulnerability is weakness is failure, and relying on anyone else is failure, anything other than perfection is, you guessed it, failure.....and failure is DEATH. sokka, stewing in his regret and shame over losing the invasion actively goes on a suicide mission with the full knowledge that he might die or never return, because he thinks that’s the price he ought to pay for losing, especially losing a battle he planned for so long, invented entirely new technology to accommodate, and truly believed was foolproof. it was his plan, and it failed. and he believes that the only way to redeem himself is to save his dad or die trying. but zuko comes with him. and he’s not exactly the most useful person sokka could’ve taken. he can’t metalbend. he’s not the avatar. he’s not even a waterbender. but crucially, he’s sokka’s peer. he’s not someone sokka feels the need to look after or take care of (mostly because up until this point, sokka hated him), so instead, zuko takes care of him. supports sokka and trusts him unconditionally and does whatever sokka thinks is best and tells sokka exactly what he needs to hear. and suki does too. and so does his dad. people who have shown sokka that they can handle themselves, that sokka doesn’t need to protect them. they show sokka that he can be vulnerable. and that’s why this episode is so crucial to sokka’s character development.

in this episode, sokka and azula are both struggling with their failures on the day of black sun. yes, azula technically won the battle, but zuko left her to deal with the consequences of having lied to ozai to protect him, and as we see, that loses her any credibility she had with him or any esteem he may have held her in. she is desperately trying to fix her error, and who gets in her way here but sokka her nemesis. but while sokka is shown throughout this episode that he is loved and supported, azula is betrayed by her only friends, further proving to her that failure is unacceptable, a self-fulfilling prophecy bringing about her own ruination.

Bristlefrost’s crush continues to feel unnatural to me. It’s like she’s grasping at straws romanticizing the most generic things.....wow....I love how ur just so...bare minimum competent....being polite to the loner we came all this way to ask for help like any somewhat reasonable person would....How admirable...I love the way you just *clenches fist* exhibit some basic traits of loyalty and skill that literally every warrior has (I s2g I’m this close to head canon-ing Bristle as a clueless aromantic who doesn't understand what romance is actually suppose to feel like so she just looks at feelings of low-bar admiration and assumes “oh I guess this is that “romantic attraction” everyone’s always talking about? guess I must be in love???” because both her crushes have felt out of nowhere and like. Idk fake/forced sounding like she’s just telling me that that she’s In Love Now while I continue to not actually feel it at all from her end. I know it’s just that I hate the way Erin’s write female characters in love but this head-canon makes me laugh)

Got scared because I thought they were going to villainize Spotfur for not wanting kits for a minute, but also excited at the concept of maybe exploring a female character that doesn’t want to be a mother, but it turns out she was just pulling a Sparkpelt and actually DID want the kits all along and was only hesitant because she’s sad. Shrug oh well. (the only female character in warriors that was distinctly upset about pregnancy and motherhood was Lizardstripe and as we all know she was eeeeeevil and abusive and “overly ambitious” because why else would you not come around to being happy about motherhood?? *On Mothwing, I don’t think her behavior struck me as “CHARACTER BUTCHERING” as much as it did for other people? I mean.....Warriors fans will say that literally any time a character does ANYTHING less then perfectly nice I think her actions just seemed that much harsher because we are reading from Shadowsight’s POV, and Shadowsight is taking everything 10x more personally right now (understandably so, but Mothwing isn’t inside his head) she wasn’t trying to hurt him. Also... like... Shadowsight DID get his name too early. It’s not Mothwing’s job to put his feelings above everything else, she’s not even his mentor, Puddleshine on the other hand, as his main mentor, I don’t understand what his deal is ignoring Shadowsight, that’s not how you help an apprentice but I suppose I chalk many of his mistakes up to also not being the most experienced medicine cat (he barely even had his own mentor.) Maybe he’s distant because he feels guilty and actually blames himself for not guiding Shadowsight better?? the two of them haven’t communicated about it yet so idk

any way I give Mothwing a pass to be a little short tempered right now as a cat who has had her abilities periodically questioned all her life no matter how hard she works or how much experience she has, just because she doesn’t vibe with the spiritual cult side of the clans, I can understand why she’s a bit defensive of being questioned and frustrated watching so much hurt happen Yet Again due to reliance on StarClan visions over common sense, and I for one still stan her for slandering StarClan and refusing to accept Mistystar’s bullshit banishing like everyone else. Sometimes a character is at the end of their rope and can’t manage to be 100% nice 24/7 and that’s maybe not inherently bad writing? idk just my hot take. At a certain point we all gotta reckon with the fact that our perception of most popular supporting characters in heavily colored by fanon and we can’t always get mad at the authors for not adhering to it

*The sisters magic shit is my fav worldbuilding warriors has had in AGES, I love the way it’s described and it actually feels like it adds something to this world. I love this horror imagery with the ghosts, very excited for that.

*still won’t be thrilled if Ashfur is working alone, because his motive doesn’t make sense right now. I mean the trying to get Squilf thing, sure, whatever, but the “I will make everyone pay for what they did to me”???? cause like?? Who??? they didn’t do anything to him?? Ashfur’s grievance was very specifically JUST Squilf. He has no other cause for revenge, he had no other beef or complaints about the clans to my knowledge? The cat that killed him is dead, and she’s like, the only other one that I could see as having “wronged” him?? I guess he also didn’t like Firestar much according to Graystripe’s Vow (and on account of how willing he was to kill him w/ Hawkfrost) but Firestar is ALSO dead. I don’t understand his angle. Will have to see last 2 books to judge i suppose.

*All in all I am interested to see where this is going!! but also the pacing as I feared is becoming a major issue. It’s better then ending the main conflict on book 3 like Vision of Shadows did, but omg. Hardly anything happened in all these pages. I realized I was over half way through and nothing about the situation had actually CHANGED or advanced at all in all that time. Similar to the past 2 books which I believe could have been combined, this plot felt like it should have been the first half of a book. Discussing whether or not to kill the imposter isn’t much of a standalone plot, it’s just the set up to a plot. Finding the sisters didn’t need to be a whole long thing, the debates about the Imposters fate didn’t need to be repeated 10 times, all those chapters illustrating that “Shadowsight is sad” were also drawn out, repetitive, and interchangeable, we probably only needed 2 or so chapters showing his struggles to get the necessary information across. It felt like a lot of padding, it was really slow and I did a lot of skimming. I am still very interested in the overarching plot and mystery behind the ghosts so that kept me reading but man this “will they won’t they kill him” plot did not justify it’s own whole book. Alas this is a persisting issue that will never be resolved while they continue to force 6 books into 1 series that doesn’t need 6 books. I’m sure the writers are doing the best they can with these unfortunate constraints but still, it’s a wonder this slow padding isn’t more of a detriment to their younger readers that the books are supposed to be marketed to.

Any recommendation for good German movies ?

Hi there!

This is such a difficult question, because it depends on what you would like to see. Also there is the problem that some German films are German in such a particular way that it is hard to understand them, if you don’t already have an understanding of Germany and German culture.

I would recommend anything by Fatih Akin and Dominik Graf (although they are very different) and Graf’s SO Caroline Link.

My favs by Link are: ‘Jenseits der Stille’ and ‘Der Junge muss an die frische Luft’

By Fatih Akin: ‘Im Juli’ and ‘Auf der anderen Seite’

By Dominik Graf: ‘Die Sieger’ (highly underrated) and ‘Die geliebten Schwestern’

Maybe I can explain why it is difficult to recommend German movies with the last one: ‘Die geliebten Schwestern’ is a movie about the famous German author Friedrich Schiller and his rather complicated relationship with the sisters Charlotte and Caroline von Lengefeld. I absolutely love this movie, not only because I love Schiller but also because I think it is heart-breaking and complex and has wonderful actors.

But I am not sure, if you can understand it. When the movie came out it was shown at a French festival and apparently the French critics had no idea why the German nobility in ‘Die geliebten Schwestern’ speaks French and faulty French on top. And they made fun of it.

Well, they do so, because Graf wanted to be accurate and before Napoleon and the ‘liberation wars’ the nobility in Germany spoke French. So, there is a reason for that (and it is even a minor plot point so to say, because Schiller promoted the use of the German language).

Then there is German comedy. Everyone and their mother knows that Germans can’t do comedy (which is not entirely true, it is just that our humour is not very universal).

There is the movie ‘Good bye, Lenin’ for example: It’s about a mother who gets a concussion during the riots in East Germany in 1989. She falls in a coma and wakes up in 1990 after the German reunification. And since the doctor tells her son, that she mustn’t get excited, he tries to ‘re-enact’ the East German Communist state, at least within the walls of her tiny flat. This involves the filming of fake news broadcast, finding a very special brand of cucumbers and as a high point a false news broadcast about the fall of the wall and West German refugees in East Berlin. It is absolutely and completely hilarious (and a touch sad, like all good comedies), but I honestly don’t know if anyone not German could laugh about it.

One of my fav German series is a crime series ‘Mord mit Aussicht’ which takes place pretty close to where I live. I think it is comedy gold. But when I picture myself showing this to some of my friends from other countries I always have this picture in my head: Me, sitting on the sofa, laughing tears and everyone else around me: “He is just eating a sandwich, why the heck is that funny?”

You might give the movie ‘Die Känguru-Chroniken’ a try. I love, love, love the books and I think the movie is pretty funny. It’s not the best German movie ever made, but it’s nice.

Anyway, just some of what is at the top of my head. Thinking about it, I’m glad I didn’t answer just with: Good German movies, there is no such thing. Haha.

Stranded Together

Written for the Arrowverse Under Quarantine exchange for one of my fav people in the fandom.

It had been a freak accident. One minute they were working on a mission to retrieve an artifact causing time anomalies and the next they were stuck.

Stuck outside of time.

Suffice to say Len wasn’t very happy with the world right now. There existed multiple areas similar to the Time Master’s base where time didn’t exist. Ones where existence itself is questionable. As philosophically interesting as that was, all Len wanted to do was get back to the ship and do something that wasn’t playing cards.

“Go fish.”

Len drew another card and glowered at it. This was their 29th round of play Go Fish. They had already exhausted numerous other card games and Len was sick of it. Or maybe he was just sick of losing at Go Fish.

“I am done!” He announced and threw his cards down onto the table in annoyance. Rip looked up at him with just as much annoyance.

“Well if you have a better idea about what we should do to pass the time, I am all ears.”

“Tell me a story.”

“What?” Rip squinted at the man in confusion. “What do you mean tell you a story? What kind of story?”

“One about your life. One that you made up. Just tell me a story and then I will tell you one.”

Rip narrowed his eyes in thought. He thought of his many time adventures, the fairy tales he would tell his son, the thousands of years of history he had learned. His mind caught on a very particular story though. One that he was sure Len would be interested in.

“Alright. Once upon a time, there was this thief. At this point in his life, he was pretty off the rails. Just really out there and he was on a very special mission. One that would change the entire course of history. One that most people had told him was impossible.”

Len huffed lightly. “I think I already know this one Rip.”

“Yes, but you only know your side of it. You don’t know mine. Besides, what else do we have to do?”

Len shrugged and gestured for him to continue.

“This thief knew that he couldn’t do it alone. That he was going to need help if he were to defeat the tyrant he sought to kill. So, he went and found 8 people who were all special in their own right but not necessary to history. He thought that would make it easier if any of them were to die. See he was an arrogant pain in the ass that didn’t know the real value of human life.” Rips words trailed off a little and Len raised an eyebrow. He moved so he was sitting next to Rip and offered him his hand.

Rip took it gently and ran his thumb over the callused skin, then he continued.

“These 9 people set out on a mission to stop the tyrant from ever gaining power. The thief discovered along the way that maybe he wasn’t as cold to the people that he had taken on his ship has he had thought. That perhaps they might become his family, something he believed he had lost entirely. Even more than that he found that for the first time since his wife had died that maybe he was falling in love. Only a few months after he met these people.”

Len’s eyebrows raised. “A few months after we met? You didn’t tell me you loved me until well after the Oculus.”

“Are you going to actually listen to this story or endlessly interrupt?”

“Why, you got a hot date you’re trying to get to?”

“Yeah, actually I do. With you back on the Waverider involving a bottle of scotch and my quarters in privacy mode.”

Len blushed just a little but gestured for Rip to continue. “Then, by all means, keep going.”

“Right, so this thief begins to develop feelings for one of the people on his crew. He is still so wrapped up in getting his wife and son back though that he won’t admit them. To himself or the man that’s in love with. He just focuses more on the impossible. To the point where it eclipses anything and everything else in his life. That is until the worst thing that could’ve happened did.”

“Oh, what’s that?”

“The man he was in love allowed himself to die so that the rest of the crew and his best friend could live. I have to say, it nearly broke the thief. To do everything in his power. To go to all those lengths, to shut everything out and then have the one person in the world he had left die? If it wasn’t for the rest of his team, he would’ve just given up right then and there. Allowed himself to wallow in misery and pain.”

“So why did he decide to keep going?”

“Well, the man’s best friend told the idiot that if he loved the dead man that he wouldn’t allow his murderers to get away with it. That he would stand up and kill the bastard before he could take anyone else away from the people who loved them. So, he did. He and his team that helped him recover from it killed the immortal tyrant, prevented him from every rising from power.”

“Mm, then what happened? Did this thief get a happy ending?”

Rip leveled Len with a look. “As a matter of fact, he did. As it turns out the man that he was in love with was a hell of a lot harder to kill than anyone would have originally thought. That or time just really wanted to give him a happy ending. Because he was spat out on his ship with all of the people who loved and cared about him right there to interrogate him on his identity.”

“Yes, I imagine the man was very amused by his loved ones all believing that he wasn’t really who he said he was.”

“Oh yes, he found it an absolute riot. The words “absolute morons” being grumbled a lot and lots of glaring. Truly he took it incredibly well.”

“He sounds like a stand-up sort of person,” Len said with a little crinkle to his nose. Rip let out a hearty laugh.

“Oh, my dear, he truly is. You know what else he is,” Rip said jumping to his feet.

“What, oh great thief?”

“A fantastic dancer.” Rip pulled Len to his feet and took his waist and hand. Len scowled a bit but let himself be guided into a waltz.

“You are being absolutely ridiculous, you know that? We are in the middle of nowhere waiting to be rescued and you want to dance. I don’t know why I love you.”

Rip spun him around letting Len spin gently around and using their momentum to make the movement smoother. “Yes, it’s ridiculous to want to dance with the man I love. Absolutely insane. How dare I pass the time with an activity that I love. One that I could do until I dropped from sheer exhaustion. You should lock me up.”

Len huffed and avoided eye contact. Rip wouldn’t let him though. He took the hand that had been on his shoulder and nudged Len’s face until he was looking him in the eye. “I didn’t tell you the end of the story.”

“Oh? I thought the bit where they end up together was the end. Is there more?”

“More than I could ever possibly hope for, but I’m going to anyway.” He stopped dancing for a moment. “I was going to save this for a more romantic time, but I don’t think I’m going to find that perfect moment.”

Rip got one knee and Len choked a little on his breath.

“Leonard Snart, the day that you came into my life I started to live again. When I thought I had lost you there was nothing that I regretted more than not being with you. I felt at that moment with my wife and son gone forever and having lost the chance I had at new love, that I would simply never love again. I was wrong though. You came back to me. The first person in my life to ever really do so. I’ll never be able to forget the feeling of having another chance with you. I never want to. Will you, Leonard Snart, marry me?”

Len gaped at him for a moment astonished at this. He hadn’t even considered marriage. Regular people's events seemed so distant when they were in the Waverider. A million miles and 100 centuries away. Here it was though, his partner proposing to him. He looked up at Rip in astonishment and then gave a soft smile.

“Of course, I will marry you. What other choice do I have? You might leave me here if I don’t say yes.”

Rip scoffed and pulled out the ring, sliding it up Len’s fingers gently.

“I’m never leaving you behind again.”

seeing you after one year as you enter UA high two days before the school fest mADE hiM LoSE HiS sHiT. he had asked his mum to parcel the costume he needed for his performance perhaps?? instead, you brought it as a sweet surprise.

considerin’ the recent events, you began inquiring about his well being, but all he emitted was honesty, kindness and optimism,, seeing this ball of joy made you go cheerful as well

he almost forgot to introduce you, as he practically pulled you to his room to show you his Crimson Riot action figures,, that he had hidden somewhere???

you liked his friends,, except the one with violet balls on his head. you chuckled at the girls’ remarks as he goes on with his pervert comments. tbh, they didn’t expect him to have a girl friend, ya there’s a gap, but on recognizing you, Ashido practically pounced at you for a tight hug, even though you guys weren’t close in school, she was glad to have met an old pal as well.

secrets started unfolding that night during the sleepover, as you both talked till dawn, sharing memories, recent incidents and his cool ass quirk developments; including the recent mission/study program but we ain’t getting into that.

one thing that for sure amazed you was his long ass training menu. Let’s not forget about the kanji signs saying, ‘fired up!’ and ‘manly spirit!’ you were a bit overwhelmed by them, huh,,

midst the exchange of meaningless insults, you vocalized his stupidly oblivious nature when it came to your obvious crush on him. his face lost colour as he heard that.

you clarified yourself by saying that it was a long ass one year ago,, but it didn’t ease the awkwardness. the heavy air almost crushed you, it was unfamiliar and then,, you go to sleep,,, ofc in your seperate dorm room. ya, it needs to be specified uk

you woke up pretty late the next day, and found no one in their dorm rooms. prolly went for preparations?? you just sigh and go off to have a bath and grab some snacks

shit lotta self doubt came your way as you basically slugged in the bed, scrolling through tumblr and basically chomping on any food in vicinity,

you lowkey start feeling that it was a bad idea to meet kirishima, and how he was better off himself. after refusing to get outta the dorm room, by evening, the guilt consumed your mind and you decided to leave without letting him know.

hun’ gotta pack her stuff now,, jk. you were in tears, cuz’ ofc, you were fucked. confessing was a legit bad idea, and staying there killed you inside,, but

kirishima walked in. he was there standing in his manly demeanour with a rose bouquet in his hand. t’was from class 1-A as a welcome gift. you could see how much he was taken a back as he saw you in tears, packing up you stuff.

you half expected him to just stand there and be his casual oblivious self, but he came forward and hugged you. he knew that you were a mess, cuz’ of that sudden confession. which reminded you of how intense and straightforward he can be at times. you close your eyes, and let the time pass.

he suddenly grabs you shoulder and moves away, as you keep you eyes on the ground.

“look over here Y/N,” Kirishima wispered.

“no, I-I, I don’t know what to say- I mean this wasn’t supposed to happen, you love surprises and I-” sniff, “I co- meat.-”

“meat?” he asks with genuine curiosity.

“Oh- ohh shit! I forgot to give you meat balls.” You instantly look up as he starts laughing, “Shut up Eijiro, damn. I hope thay are-” but as you are about to walk towards your duffle, he pulls you towards him and-

“I like you too,” Kirishima said immediately, seemed as if it was an accidental blurt. you took a rapid spin only to find that he was stern, dead serious. He walks forward and says as he closed the door, “I-I can’t keep this inside anymore. It wasn’t manly of me last night, to simply abandon your words. well, I like you Y/N.”

“ah,, wasn’t expecting that. that too in present tense.” you replied.

“yes, same he- I mean- I’ve been meaning to say this but- it was kinda hard.”

“Harder than fighting villans?” you chuckle.

“nope, i’m a hero, i got to do it to save people, as a symbol of peace and strength in society. but as a person. i decided to let my feelings die as i had to leave for UA high, if something would happen to me, it would only cause you pain. but I was wrong, you’re courageous and you had always inspired me to be strong and kind as a kid.I can’t keep avoiding this anymore.” yup those words, fuck that shit was the final nail to the coffin.

next thing you know is that you run to him and hug him tight,, he kinda stumbled a bit but then held you back and submerged into the intimate moment.

you guys talk for a while, but then you reminded him that you gotta leave. he attempted multiple times for you to stay but u refuse, with the reason that you already told you mum that you’ll be arriving home by night. of course that was a lie.

now you think of all this in the bus as you travel back home,, i’m glad, you think. he finally knows. nothing is specified between you two, you know he isn’t looking forward to a relationship and you, you’re obviously hurt, but you aren’t unknown to the fact that you might only be an hindrance in the path to his goal.though kirishima and you have left this story on an unfinished note, you hope for a future together.
