Wouldn’t it be neat if Nightheart is kicked out of all the clans? Like, he tries to join Shadowclan but really overstepped Sunbeam’s boundaries so then he goes to Riverclan and pretends to be the leader and gets the boot, Skyclan and Windclan turn him away without giving him a chance.

So Nightheart leaves the clans and pulls a reverse Firestar and becomes a kittypet for a bit, then begins to simply wander. He ends up back at the old territories where he meets a super old Smudge who upon seeing him says “you know, you remind me of someone…” and Smudge tells Nightheart of everything he knows of the clan cats.

Nightheart even gets to meet Warriorclan and learns what it really means to be part of a clan. He returns home to Thunderclan a changed cat and grows to be a wise old warrior.

I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone make this point before but leafpools wish and squirrelflights hope… yellowfangs dead kits were hopekit and wishkit. The connection between yellow and leaf is obvious. This is a detail I like :)

nightheart acting like a big brother to frostpaw is super cute and funny. when hes like "hey dont do that??" and then she does it and he just Helps Her Anyway and Doesn't Fuss To Her about it. thats so adorable and I do believe it is because he doesn't want to hurt her feelings. hed literally be like "frostpaw dont walk out in the road?" and shed be like "ok!" and then walk out in the road. and hed grab her by the tail and drag her back and lick her ears and be so nice about how God Damn Stupid she is

When they said Frostpaw was spayed and it mentioned her flank was where she was spayed, it's because she basically had the surgery on her side like this-

That is what it's talking about!! My two female cats got spayed like this. It's basically very common in the UK, where the books have been known to be based

They basically go in from this smaller incision. They vets near me put stitches in that basically dissolved(?) So they eventually came out on their own- with a smaller incision, it allows quicker healing because there is less to heal this way

So yes, this is where she was spayed at, not midline like in a lot of other countries
