tbh the awkward phase doesn’t necessarily seem awkward it’s just, a lot of your time is spent in silence or quiet chit chatting

although shoto is kinda to himself so you had to help out some people but that’s okay

some people set things up, others wrap gifts, another making a card, ironing his outfit, etc! Bright and early on his big day!

first you planned the amazing breakfast momo made for him, it was delicious

next you guys went rolled skating

then you all went out for lunch

after you guys came home and opened gifts, along with a party you invited friends to, such as class 1B, shiketsu, etc everyone! 💓

lastly you all eat dinner (soba) & party til midnight before hitting the hay ♥︎

and man I summed it up a lot bc it was epic!!

there were so many funny moments and you can bet Mina recorded every second of it!!

She sent it to the group chat and shoto saved it

he looks at it quite often

It was a ”brings tears to my eyes” experience for him 💖💖

He’s so happy about it, and he tells you all about how happy it made him, opening up to you even more as you cuddle in bed late that night

CHAZ/TOBOR BRO HEADCANONS

omg. so I realised that after I drew Chaz/TOBOR content one time that i haven’t actually shared how important they are to me. erm. so I have made a silly little document of background/headcanons that could have been pages long but I didn’t want to be TOO insane.

also BIG DISCLAIMER the TOBOR headcanons and art at the bottom belong to Chiptoons on Insta/Chipt00ns on Twitter. SHE IS AMAZING and helped me to edit this doc so thank u for ur service chippy. thank you for inventing tobor mysims

They became friends because we were friends and it was like dragging our children along to a function and being like “ok now go play w the other kids” lol. lmao.

We both have OCs x canon with the robots so that's pretty much where it all started from- I probably won’t do a whole timeline at least for now but basically Makoto, Naomi (Louie’s OC) and Vivian (Chippy’s OC) would all spend time together regularly until they started inviting the bohs along

TOBOR was. a bit suspicious of Chaz at first since he had some pretty bad trust issues when it came to humans, and also because that’s usually the normal reaction to meeting Chaz, but he honestly wasn’t super phased by it. Chaz was used to people being kinda cold towards him yet also had a tendency to latch onto them anyway. Even though he spent hours actively trying to annoy him and talk about bike mechanics, which was pretty much just his attempt at being friendly and having fun- the biggest thing for TOBOR was that Chaz would never use the fact that he was a robot against him. Like he would never treat him like any less of a person, to Chaz he literally was just Some cool dude with a green head

Even when they become like Friend friends they still are surprisingly careful around eachothers’ boundaries. Tbh a lot of their relationship is built off things most people wouldn’t expect from them, as in the two scary bitch boys are actually very respectful of eachother and keep secretz and look out for the other n their bffs. It’s not OOC if we make the chars. IDGAF

They actually didn’t think they’d get as close as they did: TOBOR and Chaz essentially see eachother as brothers at this point, since they (mostly through accident) found out they had a surprising amount in common, with the way people kinda assumed stuff about them beforehand and were not the nicest . Chaz considers him one of his best friends bc he is CRINGE and is still constantly out to annoy him but at this point TOBOR just effortlessly shows him up. Chaz also likes to bully him on account of he hearts Vivian and you know what who doesn’t. They both got parental issues too which they also kinda relate to each other with; sometimes there will be stuff between them that they tease eachother for RELENTLESSLY, but if anyone else were to bring it up at all they would be killed within the second. TOBOR tends to stick up for Chaz a lot since he is more naïve and struggles to see when people are actually trying to upset him instead of just being Chaz Haterz for fun. Defending people and having their backs is his love language.

There is also a whole thing in the future with him/Makoto being more closely associated with the Delarosarenas but I don’t want to overshare or b cringe but Kerry literally adores TOBOR and the fact he loves cooking :> he simply IS her new son and she displays interest in hiring him one day. If the lab thing doesn’t work out. Which it is not. Again they r like BROTHERS make no mistake we do not ship them.

Chaz likes to attempt to tackle TOBOR every time he sees him and it always ends in an injury.

TOBOR is secretly very good w Chaz’s younger family members.

TOBOR attempted to teach Travis how to cook for Chaz romantic style. After it all went to shit he informed the Englishman the only way to save it would be to fake his own death.

Chaz’s favourite name for TOBOR is “Flat Head Ass”, closely followed by “Toby”. His bro name for them is “Chobor”. TOBOR is repulsed by every single thing that comes out of his mouth.

TOBOR considers Naomi a little sister. Not super relevant but when Chippy said he probably did I wept. oh how I wept

Toborviv bridal party at Chavis wedding. I may be cringe but I am free.

TOBOR succumbs to the fact he is in love with Vivian. Instead of confessing, he panics and asks Chaz, who has NO electronic experience, to program it out of him. They both damn near die, bro style

I don’t think anyone understands just how much I want origin stories of everyone else in Mystreet like they all have really interesting backgrounds that are just tossed to the side of the main plot points (lol abt to be a really long threat again sorry)

Aaron- Didn’t actually get character lore OR a personality until S3 but like I want MORE because tbh I feel like his parents gave him a lot more trauma than what’s shown in the series, and even the stuff IN the actual seasons (the emotional neglect, his military schooling, the tense relationship w/Melissa etc;) are fixed and shoved off like no he might ACTUALLY need therapy bruh PLEASE

Katelyn- I think she was (?) in therapy in the beginning for her anger issues and the loss of her mother but like it was kind of forgotten about tbh. I think she needs more positive moments in the series honestly bc in the later seasons we’re shown she’s partially abusive towards Travis the first time they went out, and ends up being written off as prejudice towards werewolves bc of past experiences??? Naw the Katelyn I know would never do that. AND HER DREAMS OF WORKING IN THEATRE TOO HELLO??? Also, her mom quite literally used her in the Forever Potion experiments as a child?? I feel like that’s important to her character too :/

The Ro’meave Brothers- I don’t actually know where to start tbh because I feel like ALL THREE of them could use some kind of character depth aside from Dumb Blonde, Emo One, and the Forgotten One. Especially Vylad, probably having to witness this entire Lycan situation grow from an outsiders perspective with no contact from his family in forever. It’s shown that Zane is immensely interested in the family business too like hello??? Garroth himself is kind of just written off as a comedic effect most of the time, but he quite literally has no other goals (possibly because he KNOWS he’s going to inherit the business one day whether he cares to or not).

Laurance- He’s not really a character anymore, but from what we’ve actually SEEN in Mystreet he had enough development to become something outside of a potential love interest for Aphmau. He has a fondness for cooking and was seen to be EXCEPTIONAL at it, and I think he still carried an interest in baseball (or idk it was SOME sport asdfghjk the point is he was good). And he was also shown to still help out his family here and there (babysitting Caleb, his baby brother, in numerous episodes). Idk, I feel like there were so many pieces of Laurance that could’ve been explored and touched upon and we hardly got anything. Also… Garrance. Quite literally hate to be that person but it was literally the biggest piece of queerbaiting I’ve ever seen fr I wish it was explored as much as Aarmau was :( (willing to bet the popularity had something to do with what I call the ‘Heartstopper’ treatment but that’s just me tho)

Nana (KC)- The most under appreciated character in-universe I actually had to go and make a separate post about this LOLOL expect it in like five minutes from now bc I just save everything in my drafts.

Travis- Lol no surprise here but him too dude honestly I have no idea where to start with him atm, his entire family’s lore needs a full in depth analysis on themselves because Aphmau’s series just BARELY touches the surface of Travis’s character

Dante/Gene- Honestly BOTH of them were done so dirty I find it funny how no one ever talks abt it because they’re so beautiful to me. Gene already had his redemption arc so I can kind of see why they just tossed him aside but Dante literally had nothing tbh. He had a messy relationship with KC in PDH and then made that same mistake in LLP. Okay, cool, give us more of that. Let him learn from his mistakes and be self aware now. Or better yet let him grow without tossing love interests into the formula in order for it to happen!! Seems like his family life is pretty good though, worst thing abt him was the peanut allergy.

Lucinda- Queen actually has very little to no background that actually centers around her. We know she had a really bad relationship with Ivan but like I’m pretty sure that’s it.

i believe your gripes are completely valid because i have the same gripes. it feels like their storytelling (for the entire game) is all over the place. the high cloud quintet is literally something i’ve never chanced upon in the game. i only know it via fandom. this is similar to how that pyro butterfly lady is the crimson witch. only those who dig deep enough into the game will find out about it, and just like genshin, such “information” spreads quickly in the community.

HOWEVER, what genshin does better than star rail is that its main story DOES NOT rely on these snippets to tell its story. do i need to know she was the crimson witch when what happened to her happened? no. not at all. she was there for X purpose in the main storyline and therefore she did what she had to do and left. her being crimson witch was to add depth to her character which the main story had no space to do so.

stair rail, on the other hand, EXPECTS you to find out all these little tidbits, which to me is too time consuming and annoying. why split the story into its separate segments if i need to know them in order to understand the main story?? that’s just poor storytelling imho.

i think you’ll like this video. i agree with it. i get that the funeral for fox character was supposed to be emotional, but this video is right that we know NOTHING about this character. from my own personal experience, the funeral was so boring and honestly irritating because i. don’t. care. in fact, i didn’t even know she was with us throughout the quest so when she had her background voicelines i was always so confused????

i feel the hype around the characters is because the designs of each character have given people a desire to seek more about said characters, and there is abundance information. but this shouldn’t be something to expect of the players.

give me a reason to care that’s not just aesthetics, please.

ok thank you for validating me LMAO i was constantly wondering "where is the ancient dead people lore" (hcq) during the entire quest chain, which unfortunately contained very little of what fandom promised me (character depth). apparently i've not be reading enough books and pamphlets you can collect since the lore is concentrated there and in limited character's character stories

tbh I think the reveal that La Signora was the Crimson Witch was also really bad lol, for the same reason that the video argues DH IL's transformation is unimpactful. like "omg wow alternate identity revealed!" but it doesn't really have any impact on the conflict of the story we're currently looking at. they could've just switched it, or not even given her a transformation, instead just showing an extended duel with us and making it visible that she was tired and out of power before she dies, and I don't really know if anything would've changed. same with dan heng IL, I'd probably get more out of it if I read the hcq book from that one opera performer, but ehh there wasn't enough visibly shown leadup, like you said.

I guess the difference between genshin world lore (things in artifacts, weapons, books, world quests etc) and star rail lore is that genshin's is either about the past or future, but not necessarily about the present characters? thinking about the pale flame lore, which gave everyone the fatui crumbs before scara and la signora's stories were introducted in the main storyline, the enkanomiya quests about the vishaps and ancient history of teyvat, and the narzissenkreuz quests that also connect to that + khaenriah + a host of other world lore things. I guess it's nice that reading through all the materials isn't "mandatory" because it's either about the ancient past, dead npcs (so many of the artifact sets) or foreshadowing for important elements in the future that will still get introduced in the main story. I will be biased and agree w you, star rail's lore crumbs are rather :\ storytelling. like I would be fine if the hidden nuggets of lore were about >npcs >lore that happened but is not directly relevant to a character's main arc >foreshadowing for future events/story. but instead it's more like mandatory background reading that is crucial to understand a character's stories, instead of enriching your knowledge of them? anyways yeah

now abt tingyun. I agree that the funeral was really ???????????? i agree w you and the video lol. playing it, I was mostly in disbelief that we're assuming tingyun is legitimately dead even though she's still playable (no dead playables in genshin moment). I also think the thing with the 3 npcs we had to talk to was bullshit because. like the video said, we could've spent time with tingyun (maybe visiting the npcs we collected things from) BEFORE she died and maybe it would have given us more emotional impact. the way they retroactively show how kind and generous she was really put me off, we could've seen this all in person instead of hearing it from other people...... bruh also the way everyone got together in that cutscene when i dont think any of them were really shown to have a deep connection w her is so ..... >_> the emotional impact did not hit whatsoever

but I'm gonna level with you I think they made her role as our guide pretty clear and the implication that she was traveling with us was also pretty clear. no shade though

about the rest of the video: oh he put things into words that I could not articulate JSDKLFJDSKL. not really any thoughts but i agree that a lot of the characters (qingque, xueyi especially) could have just been cut T_T i like both of their designs and personalities based on other material in game but their main quest participation was Not It rip. also agree about the characters being vehicles for exposition and not having their personalities shine through. I'd argue maybe you can tell somewhat of what they're like (jing yuan, fu xuan, yanqing to some extent) but man there's just too much lore explaining for them to really show what they do on a normal schedule it's so .......... also because fanart and fanfic makes them seem so fun im standing here looking at the main plot like >_> <_< what was that. i'm sure it gets better inside their own companion quests, which I haven't done, but that shouldn't be the only place the character gets to really shine lmao

I agree that their design makes people more willing to invest but god I'm so sorry hsr designs really aren't my thing, the color palettes are just incredibly bad JDKSFLJDSKLGHKDJ the only thing holding up the story are the plot and personalities of chars and neither of those were delivered ...

good evening~~ here’s my very cursed(!!!) top 10 list on the most redundant [redacted] anime features off the top of my head~~

debates and disagreements welcome~

10- lxl and basketball

pointless inclusion that was pretty much just an excuse to get chiz to openly thirst over aizo. and to emphasise on just how much better aizo is at sports as compared to his poor sidekick yujiro. just male leads being male leads, ig

i mean, sure, it gave us that beautiful ball e mv, but lxl’s sporty [redacted] anime-induced hobby wasn’t worth much in general.

9- the inclusion of ⅘ of gen 2 tbh

they were pretty much just background extras for the most part, except for ken, who gets bonus moments thanks to being the male lead’s brother. heck, poor kodai doesn’t get much time to shine, despite being the adoring bf of one of the three heroines of the show. mans got more screentime either behind his camera, or as juri love flashbacks during her conversations with the jk trio.

as for the others, arisa got like 5 seconds of screentime (and 4 of them occurred in the sports fest ep, romeo ed included), and kotahina were nerfed to heck and back. they were written to be competitive and stubborn characters, so why were they portrayed to be nothing more than your average caring senpai towards hiyoko? a nd cultural festival w h e r e ? helloooooooooo~~~?

sure, the sports fest ep did give gen 2 in general a chance to show their stuff, but it was clearly more of viewer fanservice for pre-[redacted] anime fans who know and love these characters for who they truly are.

8- aizo’s “trauma reveal”

idk about you, but hiyoko does not need to know about aizo’s trauma. i mean, yeah, i totally get where ken’s coming from. as a scumbag older sibling myself, i, too, get the urge to dump lots of info about my brother to complete strangers. but. it’s just that. hiyori… really didn’t need to go “oh thank god it wasn’t real trauma. now. how can i fix him?”.

she really didn’t need to say that mans. all forms of trauma are valid forms of trauma… if that makes sense. she can’t just decide that someone’s trauma “isn’t real trauma” and then go ahead and liken it to her dislike for squid. and that includes aizo’s trauma with ladies. not cool.

on the bright side, at least aizo’s local idol boo yujiro took his trauma seriously and stood by him even as their manager had a trauma minimising session with his brother. and speaking of yujiro…

7- that someya ‘scandal’

what the heck was that ep 4 someya scandal lmao. it’s never brought up again????? not even by koichiro and tamagoro in the later episodes??? do they even know that there was a scandal about them??? bruh. what was it even there for lol. the gayze???

i mean, yeah, he’s totally the shame of the someya family for going ahead to be the less popular member of a popular idol duo, with said idol-ling being something he had received the head of said someya family’s permission for. but he had debuted without his family’s name anyway so??? does it even matter???

it would’ve actually made sense if it had a call back in a later episode, with, like, the reveal that maybe chizuru or one of the 100000 aizo stans there apparently are had leaked yujiro’s last name online in an attempt to take him down so that aizo can have a solo idol career or something. but no. it’s just never brought up again.

but before we drop the topic of yujiro like how his in-universe popularity dropped to 0 in the adaptations…

6- yujiro arrest reason

this. made. no. sense. either.

did the [redacted] anime throw darts at a dartboard of possible plot ideas to decide how the someya family side plot was going to go?? or was it decided with an online prompt generator?? or was it the result of a game of mad libs with the office crew????

like? lol? who smuggled koichiro into the bar??? and wh o let baby face yujiro into the bar??? and how did none of the staff at the bar question it?

though. wait. how the heck did hiyoko even see enough distinctive features of yujiro’s during the night that she witnessed his police encounter to identify him when they next crossed paths in the classroom? she was looking at him from above from her spot on a flight of stairs in dim lighting. just how good is her eyesight? hello?

5- repurposed yumefan

yeah yeah i k n o w the [redacted] anime staff justified their choice to use yumefan as a song to encourage hiyoko bc “it’s a song about encouraging others” and stuff. but still. yappa saikyou would probably have worked too, since it’s about not wanting to lose to your rivals and aiming to surpass the rest and stuff like that. or they could’ve just. y’know. kept nonfan in their setlist anyway if they wanted to dedicate a song to their friend(?) slash manager, since that song’s mv was the first mv that hiyoko had worked on, and thus, ✨memories✨ are there, y’know?

either way, the [redacted] anime staff saw yumefan, decided “ok it’s for women now” and had it dedicated to hiyoko and got the narumi sisters to cover it as a special ed. much wow. aizo would be proud. and speaking of aizo…

4- yuko in the countdown live

she moved to france in the lxl movie, so what is she doing here in the first place? to watch her estranged son hxld hxnds with some rando onstage? go back to france, yuko.

3- nagisa arc

the main problem i have with nagisa’s arc is how forced it felt tbh. it kinda felt like it was just. shoehorned into the plot? it just. didn’t flow well. like… especially how nagisa was completely written out of the plot after he hopped on that train. lxl had been teasing hiyoko relentlessly about nagisa till he left. then it was just like. he never existed?? excuse???

i mean. i love nagihiyo. don’t get me wrong. it’s just… the way the [redacted] anime staff plotted it into the story felt… off.

look, you see, i think the nagisa plot would’ve worked better as a season closer. like, after all that friendship drama and scandals and stuff, we get a breather in the form of the nagisa visit. he could be visiting for the countdown live, or for a christmas or new year’s visit for all i care, but it’d give the lxl + hiyoko trio, with newly strengthened bonds of friendship after all they’ve been through (thanks chiz), a chance to show off their cooperative skills with the hiyoko makeover sequence and subsequent nagisa encounter. heck, it’d even give nagisa another reason to be wary of lxl, since “aren’t these the dudes from that relationship scandal you were in? you should be more careful around them fr” could be a legit point of concern. plus! it could lead into a post-series uni timeskip or something for that sweet, sweet nagihiyo uni arc crumbs!!

hmmm. well. in the end, i still hate how nagisa’s existence was all but retconned after his episodes. poor lad. he deserves better!!! and speaking of deserving better…

2- the narumi sisters’ appearance

for sena, as she has co-starred with lxl in the past, and since she is still in the industry, it’s no surprise that she’d make an appearance or two. however, the r e a l problem is how she was handled. she was only abruptly thrown into ep 6 to fit in yet another “uwu woe is me im not cute uwu” hiyoko moment in the 24 minutes of terror. plus, those sena-mona moments make no sense whatsoever if you’re a [redacted] anime-only who doesn’t know how lxl and the narumis know each other. viewer fanservice at its finest, ig.

they are 15. we don’t need that extended shower scene. we don’t need to know that hiyoko has no qualms about barging into the showers for the opposite gender, with said members of the opposite gender being completely nude and uncomfortable when she did so. we just. didn’t need to see any of that.

who was that scene even made for? help???? just how bad did they think their own show was that they felt the need to put in an out of place scene of teen boys showering to pad the runtime?? excuse???

My tier list!! I wouldn’t say it’s set in stone for some of the movies but I’d say overall accurate especially my top faves :3

I won’t say stuff about every film or placement but I can’t help say some stuff -

Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid are so high for similar reasons, they’re so charming and the music is gorgeous and catchy and fun! The style is lovely and I especially adore how The Little Mermaid has that late 80s Disney movie look to it, it’s hard to explain but it feels so organic to look at and I adore that <3 overall tho they’re beautiful love stories with amazing characters and visuals and music and I think it’s ‘nuff said :3

I mentioned this movie in my other answer to you but Cinderella 3 is SO GOOD like genuinely one of my fave Disney movies and everyone needs to see it now. It’s really good looking for a direct to dvd, and the way it builds tension is genuinely fantastic! Not to mention it’s a hilarious movie and is a great addition to the OG film in my opinion ^w^

Sleeping Beauty is fucking GORGEOUS. Have you seen those backgrounds, the character designs, the flair it all has?? There’s a reason they spent way too fucking much on this film that Disney almost had to file for bankrupt, this movie is beautiful and they really went all in and it in my opinion was totally worth it! (Plus, 101 Dalmatians saved their hides so it worked out in the end) plus I love the protagonists, the three fairies, Maleficent is an iconic lesbo dragon furry and it’s worth the time. I hate the Prince in the movie but it’s okay he doesn’t ruin it not at all XD

When it comes to Cinderella, Mulan, and Princess and the Frog, they’re all excellent in their own rights!! Just not in my top faves but definitely ones I enjoy to watch :3 yes this also includes LM2 it’s cheesy and stuff but I honestly enjoy it a lot and I have good memories seeing it with Luma :3 plus the climax scene is SO TENSE it actually makes me wanna hold my breath it’s genuinely terrifying imo

The middle tier with Moana, Tangled, Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Frozen 2 are ones I enjoy for one reason or another I just don’t watch them a lot or wouldn’t lift them up higher ya know! Aladdin imo doesn’t really feel like a Disney princess movie but Jasmine counts so shrugs, I do enjoy her but she deserves better. These films are all great tho I just prefer others, but I still recommend these :3 notably I think Frozen 2 is better than 1, Frozen 1 I do not feel low about because of marketing (not saying that doesn’t play a part) but I just also think it’s too on the nose at times making fun of old Disney when, it’s like, it feels so tone deaf and hollow with those jokes and jabs. Also I think Olaf and Kristoff are annoying in both movies XD

Enchanted is good I just prefer animated films x3 Cinderella 2 is only in that tier too cause of the Baker and Anastasia tbh, their love makes my heart melt ;w; Brave is one I know you love and I prommy I don’t hate it!! I shut think it coulda been even better and it makes me sad how meddled it was in writing, but I can see why it could be a fave of someone’s!! Same with Frozen but eh..

Pocahontas my beloathed. Not only racist as hell but I just never liked it. Even if it somehow wasn’t racist or whatever I still find it boring. I like some of the music and I like the pug and the raccoon but that’s it, it’s a slog and it’s aged super bad and I didn’t even like it as a kid XD

i dont draw her with any primarily due to laziness and it would be too much to remember to put on given i forget to draw her with clothes 80% of the time in my notes. but in my mind i do like some of the tattoos from the game but like only parts of them. i like this part of a body tattoo from the game

but only this part and itd probably be on her upper back/lower back. or this one i like but only the back/shoulder parts of this body tattoo i do not like the blackout chunks from the front of this one

itd be one or the other in this case. ive contemplated my v getting a type of tattoo that interconnects/plays with scars on the body in a more story related way but i can't quite think of what she would chose to do with that yet, if at all. piercing wise probably not, maybe a brow piercing.

the more mundane things ive not thought about alot tbh. growing up in heywood and also me taking a smthn from the dlc files ive seen so far i think shed enjoy casual sports/street sports like basketball or soccer or smthn else. given a line v can say to takemura about hopping across buildings maybe even parkour in a not merc work focused way. as for something shed want to do but never had the time probably playing an instrument which like thats fun material for her n johnny but maybe seeing street players there was always a background 'oh i wish'/'that seems cool' but life in nc and all that entails isnt much conducive to that. maybe more wanting to play or sing stuff for/with judy too. and dancing maybe. not necesarrily like club dancing but cheesy old school like ballroom/partner dancing.

𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝗶 〜 does your oc speak any other language(s)? if they didn’t learn to speak the language(s) when they were growing up, when and why did they learn it?

i think the game kinda mishandled/misunderstood how multilingual a southern central californian city would be in the year 2077 and maybe thats a consequence of the game being made in poland, but like anyone who grows up there if they werent fully bilingual in spanish/english would at least be passibly conversible in either language. translation sofware aside. so i imagine my v would be, even if its a case of understanding more than one can speak, or able to hold conversations with storeowners but not necesarrily have a philosophical convo w/ someone in the 2nd language. id imagine people growing up there would know/understand beyond just hello/thank you stuff from japanese or even mandarin given city wide announcements happen in game in those languages.

Second of all—lmfao I was wondering when I’d get this ask or comment 😭😭😭😭😭 I just knew there’d be some poor phd student or some professor reading this fic who’d be like “hang on… what’s that?” and the answer I’ve got for you is let’s have a healthy dose of suspension of complete disbelief because it was the only way I could make this work 🤓

I wanted it to be an age gap because I wanted to write an age gap but I didn’t want there to be too horrible of a power imbalance that would definitely come with it being a student/professor relationship. That was just too far for me to personally go, even though with the ages I have them at, it would be the most realistic thing. Idk making them student/professor made me feel icky. I suppose I could’ve made her work some admin job within the university but I really liked the idea of them both teaching, and I originally planned on having him sort of rediscover his own love of teaching thanks to her enthusiasm. For some background (this didn’t make it into the fic, but I did hint at it); Anthony specializes in teaching a lot of western lit canon/comp lit things and Kates specializes in post-colonial lit/Asian American lit, and I liked the idea of her challenging his perspectives and changing up some of the ways he approaches his work and the things he assigns, and that all helping him rediscover his love of teaching as well. There’s a repeated theme in this oneshot of rebirth; how love can find us at unexpected times and make the world feel brand new again. I kinda heavy-handedly drove the theme home when he says I love you and I write that it washes over Kate like rainwater in spring—a sort of nod to baptism/rebirth imagery, a nod to rain being necessary for renewal even though she’s afraid of storms but the storm scene is a huge turning point for them, and rain and springtime and rebirth etc lol. ANYWAYS—all this to say, I really do try and make things as realistic as possible, because that matters to me and I like world building and tbh I do get paranoid that someone might read my fic and go “oh well that’s wrong, a mechanic would never say that” or something lol, but it is fanfiction land and I do have to make some concessions to make the story work in the way I want it to work, and I sort of ended up here lol! Trust me, though, I totally hear you; I was an English major myself (if you couldn’t tell) with a concentration in post-colonial lit and a minor in poli-sci and for a while I thought I’d get my masters or a PhD in the humanities and then teach, before a professor discouraged me from it bc ya know this is the US and that usually means a lot of debt and no teaching positions lol. But all that to say—I totally hear you! It’s not realistic and it’s icky if you work/study in it and know exactly what the dark and ugly side of academia looks like! But most folks probably didn’t catch that bc no one really knows what it’s like until you’re in it tbh. I tried to sort of make it work by having her have these two masters degrees (again, insane) and be some sort of wunderkind and exciting new voice in the post-colonial lit field that Agatha just had to bring on lmao. Basically it’s not perfect and it doesn’t totally work irl, but it’s not too big of a plot point besides getting them in the same place, and it’s not a huge focus, just in the background as they’re grading things or walking around campus, and I hope it doesn’t totally impede your ability to read it, but I totally understand if it does 😭

been watching markiplier, etc. as background noise, as stuff to watch when i’m not feeling good physically or mentally

and one vid i watched (“watched” as in it’s horror so i just listen to it lol)--at dead of night--has a lot of characters that are morally grey and stuff like that

and the premise is there’s this guy named jimmy (evil alter ego named hugo) who does all these horrible things but we later find out it’s bc he’s literally being possessed by the ghost of his abusive father (or the ghost of like a centuries long abuse cycle situation?)

and while the morally grey characters who were slandered and murdered by jimmy (hugo) in the past are still justified imo? bc they’re being injured and threatened by someone, they just don’t know it’s bc he’s possessed? some youtube comments were a bit funny to me (like genuinely kinda funny to read)

*game content mentions an accusation of sexual assault, murder, harm to animals, etc. and my post mentions sexual assault, medical malpractice, some outdated terms or ableist language BUT the last two paragraphs are generally free from that/highlight what’s interesting to me abt the youtube comments if u wanna skip the text

one dude (harvey) was really violent towards jimmy and threatened him with a gun (not with the intention to shoot, just to scare him out of the hotel) but that was after jimmy almost killed him by electrocution, shot a crossbow bolt through his leg, etc so like. yeah he was violent but after jimmy was violent towards him

i do not fault him for choosing violence or reacting that way. some people were weird abt him and were like “oh but he’s being violent too!” but like. yeah?? i would be if all this shit was happening plus other guest deaths due to jimmy??

but when it comes to dr. bose like. i get being wary of his character because drs can exert control over their patients. i get wanting to look more into jimmy’s accusation of sexual assault. but not only was the scrapbook of news articles mentioned about both accusations (that he was being beaten and that he was being assaulted), meaning both accusations seemed to be word-for-word what was in the newspapers,

when harvey confronted jimmy about making up that story about dr. bose beating him with a paddle to take the medicine AND THEN that he molested him, jimmy’s response was to laugh? so like. if we wanna be skeptical of harvey bc he already doesn’t like jimmy then ok but i dunno, jimmy’s response didn’t seem in line with the kind of response someone would have if they were telling the truth

BUT ALSO in regards to how drs work--

this is in a time period where force was regularly exerted on patients and he never did so in the way that we’d expect--and tbh force is still regularly exerted on patients? it never went away, it just changed in some aspects?

people still restrain patients, forcefully medicate them etc. so while i get being skeeved out by dr. bose chasing jimmy around with a syringe and (rightfully) being of the opinion that you can’t force meds on a patient (which i don’t think dr. bose did? he tried to enforce it in a strange way but might not’ve even administered it?)--

i feel like that’s when you’d be like. ok can some other character call the police. can dr. bose call other doctors in here for a second opinion LIKE my issue wouldn’t entirely be with his methods bc he never resorted to the kind of force we usually see for this time period?

like yeah i’d think chasing someone around a hotel w a syringe is bad, even if he didn’t go further w it, but ppl aren’t really mentioning that part so like? we’re not even neutral on this man for the right reason???

but i think for me, the funny comment was abt ppl going “um diazepam is a sedative, it’s not made for what dr. bose assumed was jimmy’s condition, it wasn’t the right drug, he must’ve been trying to sedate him to assault him--” and i’m like. babes.

tell me you’ve never gone to the doctor IN MODERN DAY NO LESS with symptoms and had them say smtn to the effect of huh that’s weird?? try this i guess?

like not only can drs not necessarily prescribe the correct thing all the time--

ex. a past dr who sort of listened to my issues, prescribed me a med, the med worked for some symptoms but gave me such an increase in anxiety that we had to stop--but we didn’t try anything else which was the weird part

yeah she wasn’t great in the first place BUT i wasn’t sure if i had adhd? and she was maybe treating me for depression or anxiety? and then the anxiety got worse and we just dropped it, rather than seeking out answers as to what actually was happening??

so like i got a med, don’t remember what we were trying to treat, it sort of worked in a way and didn’t in another, ??? like drs don’t necessarily get it right every time--

but sometimes u get prescribed stuff bc they don’t know what you need or because it might actually work for something not listed

yeah diazepam is listed as an anti-seizure med and/or an anxiety med but who knows if dr. bose thought an anxiety med would help--even if only we know as the viewers that jimmy actually has anxiety/depression and it’s ghost related/dr. bose doesn’t necessarily know or expect that. just bc it lists anti-seizure doesn’t mean he’s giving him a random med

i take clonazepam for anxiety--specifically severe agoraphobia at one point--and it’s listed as an anti-seizure med and an anxiety med. not only does it not specifically mention agoraphobia (although it solved that issue in a way my everyday anxiety med doesn’t, despite it also being an anxiety med), just bc it says it’s for seizures doesn’t mean that’s what i’m taking it for

plus like, only we know narratively that these issues are being caused by a haunting/possession. no med would be likely to work anyways but i can’t blame dr. bose for being like let’s try a sedative at the moment to see if that stops him from putting glass in ppls sandwiches and killing animals and harming other guests while we figure out the root of his issue and try and prescribe something else later

it feels like the difference between “let’s try this for the moment to see if it eases certain behaviors” (okay, open to changing meds, not a permanent decision) versus like “we gotta sedate this kid” (not okay, implies the patient is like. “lol fucked up,” not likely to be taken back and switched for something else)

PLUS, given the time period, even dr. bose with the best intentions is probably reliant on sedatives for patients. like i don’t want to imply that’s all they have without prior research but it’s like the long lists of why ppl were in asylums and it ranges from like. incorrectly diagnosed issues/outdated terms for actual problems to like. she acts inappropriately

and that still happens! my sister went to an outpatient place once and they

A. gave her meds without telling her the risks/side-effects (for example, if u miss a dose YOU CANNOT TAKE THE SAME DOSE THE NEXT DAY U HAVE TO START FROM THE LOWEST DOSE) + seemed to just? give her meds???

B. grouped literally anyone in there and did not give specialized care to anyone. it literally was like. here are people who are having very different issues that cannot benefit from this bc it’s just? not catering to anyone’s specific problems? you had someone who was forced to get an abortion, someone who had anger issues, someone like my sister who was having mental health issues due to ppl ignoring her physical health issues

like i’m not suprised that for the time period in the game, a doctor, even with the best intentions, would immediately prescribe a sedative. that doesn’t implicate dr. bose in anything else and while it’s definitely an issue with the time period, i don’t think we can blame him in particular for that + he does seem to genuinely try to help jimmy and i don’t think a lot of the

and like in no way are any of these yt comments ableist, it’s not that serious, but it is funny to me as someone who’s like yeah sometimes u trial meds, sometimes something could work although it’s not specifically for that thing, a lot of the time, without specialist intervention, u just test stuff out and hope it works or names what’s not being resolved, at worst ppl prescribe things too generally and medical services can be extremely abusive, which isn’t even necessarily showcased in the game--

like what do u mean ur surprised that got prescribed or that u assume it’s for SA reasons not like. The Med Of The Time/over-reliance on sedatives in general or bc medicine as a practice is like damn that’s weird, try this i guess

Kurt Glee Rewatch: The Power of Madonna

I know it’s not a major Kurt ep, but I just love him and Mercedes here omg. Lowkey one of my fav Glee songs...

Lowkey the first time is hype about the assignment and Will didn’t even come up with it... classic.

Also I need to convey how much I love his hoodie (esp with the hat, prob so hood doesn’t fall down). I wish we got to see it again! Kurt has some pieces he wears a lot (black boots, white pants, this grey shirt w a white collar), but then there are outfits that appear once and then... never again.

Love that he dances along, the only one truly appreciating the performance. This is why Kurt hangs out with the girls, gosh. Like dudes, even with your prejudice, can’t you appreciate an absolute bop???

But also bc Kurt in same hoodie... this is the same day. When did the girls do the costume change and practice? I love glee logic lol.

Another great look, lowkey love him in turtlenecks. And I love Kurtcedes s1! Do we ever see Kurt do film ever again? Bc this talent came outta nowhere? I guess there’s sorta the music video at Vogue when he gives Rachel a makeover? Would be fun if we saw more of it.

And yay, the start of Kurt and Sue’s super weird friendship. I find it sweet that even after everything, Kurtcedes still has sympathy for her. Even though she then goes to throw students around... and Kurtcedes is unfazed... what is this school.

He’s so hurt that Sue couldn’t keep up with fashion trends... a true travesty.

“Mercedes is black, I’m gay. We make culture” I love it.

I legit love the Kurt and Sue dynamic. I’m sure part of this was them wanting the Cheerios for their video, but he also wants to help. I think Kurt respects Sue, but doesn’t agree with her methods. And he def sees the humanity in her, here and in Funeral.

And Sue def has sympathy for Kurt and I think she does respect him on some level. He has that more snarky side and like. He also has no affection for Schue.

First off, Chris Colfer looks so good in vintage style/black and white. You can often see Kurt’s influence of old Hollywood and it just fits. It’s why I get so annoyed when there are jokes/comments of Kurt wearing ridiculous/girly stuff bc it seems like the other characters treat him like a more camp-y gay and that’s not really his style? He’s so into fashion and he prefers a more sophisticated look.

But anyway, I’m so curious about the behind the scenes of this vid. I’m assuming Sue paid for it bc it looks v extra. But also just... how they styled everything etc. I can’t imagine that Sue is easy to work with.

Ooh, another vintage-y look. Very detective-vibes.

Also, even tho the Kurt-Sue friendship is starting, she still keeps him on the list she gives to Figgins lol. She wants all them glee kids gone. Or maybe she thinks that Kurt would actually mange to make it in a new city with 5 bucks lol.

And then.... then we get... Cheerio!Kurt!!!

First I need to point out a rare Quinn/Kurt interaction! And if you watch them in the background, you can see Kurt (but really Chris tbh) playing with the hat, puts it on Quinn’s head for a second. I love it. Wish we had more of them in canon.

I will gush forever about cheerio!Kurt. I loved football!Kurt too and wish we got more eps, but omg him as a cheerio is everything. I’m happy he was a cheerio for a while (tho I wish we got to see another performance, esp the Celine Dion medley). ANd omg why wasn’t he on the team longer?? I guess tricky s2 with his transfer, but s3?? When he needs stuff for his application? And ugh, I just wanted more.

And I’m so happy he and Mercedes joined bc they prob felt so useless in glee. At least Mercedes gets some of the belt-notes? But Kurt is just background. This is his first song since Wheels (second in the season) and he’s already improved so much? I love when they let him sing in his lower tones, he sounds so good. And he’s such a performer, all the energy.

I wish we got more Kurtcedes duets. I just... they’re so great. And the only other one is in s5 and tbh not a fan of that one. This is just.. I love it! Esp as Mercedes’ voice is amazing, but in Glee they don’t always have her perform so much? Like, she had Bust Your WIndows but after that they have her as the ‘park and bark’ character? But pair her with Kurt, who was a born performer, and it’s amazing. Plus their chemistry, and they hype each other up, it’s so great.

Esp compared to Wheels! And his audition! That awk kid standing still and singing? Gone. He’s having so much fun and you can see that here is where he is truly confident as a performer. And this song is just so fun, esp with everyone’s reactions in the crowd (I love how happy Quinn is for them).

Tbh Will has no reason to be mad. He has other cheerios in glee. And they aren’t leaving the club. Plus, even after they do this and have repeatedly voiced their opinions on wanting to perform, he still never gives them a real chance to perform. I just- Ugh he angers me so much.

A/N: This personally is sort of what I feel like sex would be for Yelena. I think it would be very much a one-sided top type of deal, and I don't really think it would happen very often either tbh.

This doesn't follow anything where Yelena is asexual in the sense that's she's aggressively against sex. In my world she's asexual but is mostly sexual neutral and is okay with touching others once in a while. Especially someone who makes her feel safe and able to be vulnerable.

Laying out on the couch, the sun rays were hitting you just right to keep you warm as the evening dragged on. You loved having days off but you wished your girlfriend would be home with you too. Your thoughts are interrupted by your love herself as she enters the house, dropping all of her equipment messily in the foyer and begins her trek to find you. It doesn’t take long and she’s jumping over the back of the couch to land next to you. She just smirks at you as you stare at her, reaching into one of the many pockets of the vest she’s wearing and pulling out a small box. You smile fondly as you open the box; revealing a thin gold bracelet. “El…you didn’t have to.”

She chuckles grabbing the bracelet and starts putting it on your wrist, “I know but I had to. I saw it while I was fighting one of Kazi’s guys and had to go back afterwards.” She gives a gentle kiss to your wrist before she turns the tv on. There’s a smile on her face as she settles into what you consider her most relaxed state.

Some time passes as you both just watch tv and relax, “Y/N have you ever had sex?”

The question isn’t out of bounds but coming from your girlfriend of two years is surprising. She’s never been one for physical touch or anything sexual, and that was okay with you. Yelena’s past made things difficult in that area, and you never wanted to push. While you wanted to treasure her, you knew that it most likely would never happen. She never even asked about sex, or made any strides towards more than a heavy kiss. After two years with her your heart still trembled every time she even was vulnerable enough to touch you softly, you didn’t need sex to love her.

Lost in thought, you answered slowly unsure of where this conversation was going. “Uh-yea, technically I have. Before we were dating of course. You were watching her face, soft and concentrated. Thoughts seemed to swirl in her eyes and you couldn’t help but fall even more in love with her. “Did you ever want to sex with me Y/N?”

You don’t like to admit it but she shocked you. “Of course I do.” It sounds terrible since you think back knowing you never really tried to have sex with her, just assumed based off of her body language. What if you were wrong this whole time? What if you just don’t know how to read someone’s body language? “W-where um why do you ask babe?”

The two of you sit in silence for a long time, the tv playing some random comedy in the background quietly. Fanny woke up soon after you asked your question, trotting into the living room. She was licking up the water from where she had just flipped her bowl when Yelena sighs loudly. “We should have sex. Right now.” The blunt statement shook you again, and you sort of just stare at her. “What? Do you not think we need to? Is that not what American couples do to take the next step in their romantic relationship? Would you not want to take the next step with me? Is our relationship not ready? Do we need another dog first?” She looks a little offended but also adorably confused.

You sigh, not knowing how to answer this without coming off like a horny teenager. “Els, I would love to have sex with you but we don’t need have sex to make our relationship better. I absolutely love you and our relationship. If you think you want to have sex, ok. We can but..I never wanted you to think you had to have sex with me for me to stay with you. Honestly just the fact that you want me in your life is enough for me to stay with you.” The nerves were making your voice shaky, but you just loved Yelena. Through and though, with her past and her faults. You loved her and only wanted her to be happy and comfortable.

She’s nodding slowly, “And if I want to try it?”

anyways, he def wakes up first bc mans has to go on his morning run

but he wakes up, sees you- your head a hair away from his and your arms wrapped around him ... he just .... can’t leave

so for the First time he decides to skip the run

instead, he smiles and pulls you closer before drifting back to sleep

okay but tbh id be surprised if you could get him to sleep next to you

he’s def comfortable with you, seeing as though you always take the proper precautions to make him as comfortable as he can be

that’s why he fell in love with you in the first place

but to make him even more comfortable, y’all do that thing where you sleep under the comforter and he sleeps on top

but the problem is that he got super cold during the night

he shook you awake at like 3 in the morning with a “hey, are you awake?”

and ur like “no tf”

“okay what do u want me to do abt it”

he gives u the :(( face & you ask if he wants to get under the covers too

he obv agrees but you make sure to stay as far apart as possible

sakusa wakes up first and wow

he’s never slept that well in his entire life

he looks over at you, drool and all, and decides it’s because of you

he kisses your cheek before pulling you impossibly closer to him

you wake up a could minutes after and are greeted with him just kinda staring at you

you enjoy the warmth he gives off but then realize

“oh my god kiyoomi, i’m so sorry” you panic while trying to move away

he doesn’t let you, obv and is like

“i don’t mind, in fact, i never mind when it’s you”

you’re kinda stunned because did he just confess ???
