Under Love’s Heavy Burden Do I Sink
Nick Sturniolo x Male reader oneshot
Tumblr media
Summary: For the past three years, Nick would fall head over heels for a guy, they’d be together for a year, and then he would get dumped. Like fucking clockwork. Hardened and jaded, Nick promises himself to never fall in love again, but you came into his life like radiant sunrise, and well, Nick’s only human.
WC: 3631
Contains: nick pov focused, angst, slightly suggestive, drinking, drug use, mention of minor character death, slight use of y/n
a/n: was planning to make this nick x oc bc i wanna write in nick’s pov but im too lazy to think of a new oc so yeah hope the fact that it’s nick pov won’t be too confusing😭
——————————————————————————
Nick hated Madi.
Okay, no. He didn’t, but he did. Just a little.
For the past three years, his ever-loyal best friend had been setting him up on blind dates. For the past three years, every single one of them would go perfectly. Nick would fall head over heels for the guy, they’d be together for a year, and then he would get dumped. Like fucking clockwork. First with Julian, then Shaun, then Adrian.
Adrian.
Nick shoulders slumped just at the name alone. It still burned, deep in his chest. He knew why; Nick was too loud, too clingy, too boring. Nick had found, through his lovely failed relationships, that he was a homebody. If there was something in his life that made it feel worthwhile, he didn’t need to go out. He didn’t need to party. He didn’t need to do anything but lay in bed with them and watch Netflix.
Adrian had hated that. He’d wanted adventure, he wanted excitement. He wanted to experience things with someone fun and Nick? He wanted to cuddle and sleep and hide his face in Adrian’s neck. Nick wanted…
Fuck, he didn’t even know what. To be happy, he supposed.
But that was just too bad, right? Adrian had dumped him. It had been six months and Madi had set him up on another date, probably with a perfect guy like she usually did. Probably with someone wonderful who would make Nick laugh and smile and kiss till they get drunk from it. Probably with someone who would make him feel special and make him the happiest he’s ever been. Someone who would be able to tape up his heart and make him forget about Adrian.
Someone who, Nick knew, would dump him eventually because every single one of them did.
He knew Madi probably picked a perfect guy, because she knew Nick so well, but that didn’t matter. He wasn’t going to do it again. He wasn’t going to let down his guard. He wasn’t going to fall in love. He wasn’t going to do it. He wasn’t.
And then you sat down.
“Hey.”
Nick blinked, mouth falling open. You were gorgeous. You were tall — taller than Nick, and your smile was blinding. Nick couldn’t see your eyes because they were nearly closed with how wide your grin was, but he was sure they were beautiful. He was sure every inch of you was fucking perfect.
“Hi,” he finally croaked out.
Nick wasn’t going to do it.
“I’m (y/n),” you told him, sitting down and leaning forward with your elbows on the table. “Nick, right?”
“Uh, yeah.”
Your smile got impossibly bigger. Jesus. “Madi told me about you. I’m excited.”
Nick leaned back in his seat, mostly just to catch his breath. He needed distance to think, to remind himself of his goal. To remember he wasn’t fucking doing this again. He wasn’t. “Oh? She didn’t tell me about you.”
“No?” You didn’t seem phased.
“No.” Nick shrugged. “She never tells me about the guys.”
You raised your brows. That threw you off. “Guys?”
Nick nodded. “She sets me up.”
“Often?” The smile disappeared, replaced by an expression that looked almost nervous. Almost scared.
Nick wanted the smile back. “No, just… Just sometimes.”
You hummed. “And how do they usually go?”
It was the way you said it, the way your head turned. It was adorable and Nick immediately wanted to lean in and capture your lips in a kiss. He wanted to pull your hair, he wanted to forget his own name — Since Adrian’s had been forgotten the second you sat down. He wanted more. He always wanted more.
But not this time.
No.
“They usually date me for a year and then they get bored,” Nick told him, summoning all of the coldness he once had. When he was a teenager, he’d been perfect at playing that game. The aloof game. The ‘I don’t care’ game. It had melted away over time, but he could bring it back just as quickly. It was like muscle memory.
Especially when he thought of how much it would hurt if you broke up with him. If you and him fell in love and Nick got to sleep on your chest and feel what it was like to kiss you and hold you. Especially if he knew what it felt like to get familiar with your smile, to get to wake up to it every day, to get to feel it against his neck and thighs and —
Nick knew. He knew it would be stolen from him; you would find something wrong with him and you’d get bored and Nick would be left feeling broken. He’d be left all alone and he couldn’t do that. Not anymore. He couldn’t handle one more crack in his stupid, fragile heart.
You would shatter him.
“How could anyone get bored of you?”
Nick rolled his eyes, flushing. “Shut up.”
“I’m serious,” you insisted, cocking your head to the side. “I don’t think I’d ever get bored of you.”
“You say that now, but—“
“Can I help you two?” The waitress came up to the table, interrupting you two. She was smiley and perky and seemed to find you just as beautiful as he did. Her name was Sarah and she talked fast and took their orders quickly and left Nick feeling a little pathetic. You had smiled at her too, had been nice to her too.
Nick had been imagining a whole life, a whole story, but that didn’t matter because you would probably end up cheating on him with that waitress eventually. That’s the kind of painful irony he got in life, right?
God, maybe that’s why everyone dumped him. He’d practically fallen in love with you the second he saw your face. Nick was a stupid romantic and people got bored with romantics.
“You’re overthinking,” you told him, warm.
“You don’t know that,” Nick mumbled, avoiding your gaze.
You hummed, pressing both your knees together under the table. “It’s all over your face,” You told him. “Madi told me you got out of a break up a while ago. I get it if you’re not ready to move on.”
Nick sighed. “I’m fine. It’s the… I don’t want to date ever again.”
“Then why did you come tonight?”
“I don’t know.” Nick groaned, trying to pull his knees away. They were both too tall and he just ended up banging them together again.
You stayed quiet for a few minutes. Nick wondered if you were just going to just get up and leave. If you were going to tell Nick he was a dick for getting your hopes up and walk away. If you were going to tell Madi what an asshole he’d been. It hurt, but Nick would take this hurt over a breakup a year down the line.
“I think you came tonight because you do want to fall in love,” you told him finally. “I think you came tonight because you do want to meet someone new.”
Nick looked up, swallowing thickly. “Love? Come on.”
“You don’t think we’re going to fall in love?” You grinned, flicking your eyebrows up in a way that made Nick’s stomach clench. “We’re totally falling in love.”
“Jesus, you’re something else.” Nick looked away, trying to hide his smile.
“You’ll see, Nick.” Your smile morphed into one more sincere — more tender. “I won’t hurt you.”
***
That was a total lie. You did hurt him.
You hurt him when you talked about movies; Your eyes lit up and your hands moved wildly as you spoke about how important a Japanese movie called Monster was to cinema. You hurt Nick when you laughed, head cocking to the side and eyes fond. You hurt Nick when you talked about your best friend, an ever-present, fond grin on his face.
You were so fucking sweet and Nick was only human.
“What do you like to do for fun?” You asked him.
Nick shrugged.
“Are you into music?”
Nick shrugged.
“What do you do?”
Nick shrugged.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to answer, he had to force himself not to. If he engaged, Nick would fall. Hard. Fast. Break-your-ankles kind of fall. So, he kept his mouth shut and picked at his food while you did the talking. Until —
“I have an idea,” you mumbled, pulling out your phone.
“Hm?”
You smiled. “36 Questions.”
“Okay?” Nick frowned. “I don’t want to do that.”
“Why not?” You asked, still smiling. Always smiling. Did this dude ever get sad?
“Because it’s to make you fall in love.” He pointed out, sinking into his seat a little.
You raised your eyebrows, comically. “Exactly.” You looked back down at your phone. “Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?”
“You!” Nick groaned.
“I’m already here.” You grinned.
“No, I mean — I’m not doing this.” Nick insisted.
You sighed. “At least give me a chance? Please?”
And then you pouted and that was just obscene. Nick was a human being, he couldn’t deny you a goddamn thing when you looked like that.
“My mom.” Nick blurted.
Whoa. Honest. Really honest. Stupidly honest.
You blinked at him before nodding and handing him the phone. “Mine’s Hirozaku Kore-Eda.”
“The director of the movie you talked about?” Nick made a face.
“So you were listening.” You grinned. “Ask the next question.”
Nick’s eyes flitted over your handsome face for a long moment before he sighed and read the question: “Would you like to be famous? In what way?”
You hummed. “I would. I’d like be famous for directing.” You explained. “Or maybe if I’d painted something. I like all sorts of art, but I’d prefer to be known for directing. You?”
Nick shook his head. “I don’t want to be famous at all.”
“No?”
“No.”
You leaned in. “Would you date a famous person?”
Nick bit the inside of his cheek. “That’s not the question,” he mumbled, handing the phone back.
They went on for awhile and it was fine, it was normal. Nick hid a laugh and a flush behind his hands, you continued being charming. But then the questions got harder. They got more… invasive.
“What is your happiest memory?” You asked, putting down the phone.
Nick tensed. He knew the memory, he knew the exact moment in time that meant the most to him. And as much as he liked you, as smitten as he was, he wasn’t ready for that. He’d barely scraped the surface of that with Adrian. “I think I gotta get home.”
“Wait, what?” You frowned, standing up as Nick did. “We don’t have to play anymore if you don’t want.”
“I just need to get home. It’s late. I have a shift early morning tomorrow,” Nick mumbled, ducking his head and refusing to meet your eyes. He knew he was being cowardly — and probably really rude — but he said he wasn’t going to do it, so he wasn’t.
“Nick.”
“Bye.”
***
Nick was only two blocks away and was ready to order an Uber home when his phone started vibrating in his pocket. He sighed, tugging of his glove at pulled it out. “What, Madi?”
“Go back.”
“Madi, no.” Nick shook his head.
“He’s a good guy. He’s nice. He likes you. Just stop thinking so much and go back.”
Nick stopped and leaned against a wall. “I can't do it again.”
“Don’t be dramatic.”
“I’m serious!”
“Nick.” Madi sighed on the other end of the phone. “He’s perfect for you. He’s smart, he’s funny, he’s sweet. He’s been through some pretty rough shit too.”
“Like what?”
“Go back and find out. I’m serious. I won’t talk to you for a month if you don’t.”
Nick scoffed. “A month? Come on!”
“Bye, Nick!”
So, he went back. You were standing outside of the restaurant, head bowed and looking sad. You were smoking a cigarette, hand slightly trembling.
“You’re still here.” Nick mumbled, surprised.
You looked up, dropping the cigarette and stomping it out. “Uh, yeah.”
Unlike before, his smile wasn’t blinding. It was still handsome, still irresistible, but hesitant. It was scared. It was the smile of someone who felt rejected and maybe judged and a little bad about themselves. It was a smile of someone who, as Madi had said, had been through some shit too.
“My most treasured memory is my mom taking me shopping to the mall when I was eight.” Nick told him, a lump rising in his throat. “It was before she… She got sick and passed.”
“I’m sorry,” you replied, guiltily.
Nick met your gaze, wincing. “It’s fine.”
“... Mine is meeting Steven Spielberg in an airport.” You admitted softly.
“You met him?” Nick gasped.
You grinned and Nick found himself melting again. “I can tell you about it over wine?”
Nick bit his lip. “Sounds good.”
***
It took Nick three glasses. Three glasses and a lot of your face for him to lean in, let their knees touch, cock his head to the side and grin. “Why do you think Madi wanted us to meet?” He asked.
His best friend was perfect; Madi always chose the most perfect guys. Guys that Nick always fell for instantly, guys who usually liked him too. Guys who thought he was attractive and smart and funny. Guys who were the subject of Nick’s damn dreams.
Nick didn’t know how she found them, but he did.
“I asked her about you,” you admitted, taking a sip from your water. You had one glass and stopped. Nick had noticed, but had decided against saying anything. “I’ve seen you at parties.”
“You have?” Nick asked, cheeks going pink.
You nodded, glancing away like you were embarrassed. “Well, with your ex and then… On your own. Figured I’d ask—“
“You had a crush on me?” Nick gasped, grabbing a your shoulder to keep his balance when someone bumped into him from behind. “Me?”
You chuckled, placing a hand on his waist and Nick would let him keep it there for the rest of his life if he wanted. “Of course I did.”
Nick blinked a couple times, shaking his head. “Have you seen yourself?”
“What does that mean?”
“You’re gorgeous,” Nick told you, like it was obvious. “You’re the prettiest person—“
He caught himself off by slapping a hand over his stupid, half-drunken mouth. He had been trying not to completely fall for you, to hold back a little, but the alcohol loosened his tongue.
“The prettiest person?” You grinned, looking positively pleased with yourself. You squeezed Nick’s hip, pulling him closer. “You think I’m gorgeous and pretty?”
Nick rolled his eyes. “As if you don’t know.”
You threw your head back and laughed, shoulders shaking and eyes disappearing and neck fully exposed in the most sinful way. Nick couldn’t help but lean forward and pressing his face into the crook of your neck, inhaling. Your breath hitched, your grip on Nick’s hip tightening in an almost painful way.
“Nick.”
“Hmm?”
“You smell good.” You whispered into his hairline, hand sliding from his hip, up his side before fisting in Nick’s hair.
Nick whined. “I’m so drunk.”
You froze, breathing against his ear. “Want me to take you home?”
“Mhm.”
***
“Matt!” Nick whined, banging the door to his house. He’d evidently forgotten his keys, like an idiot, and no one was answering their phone. “Chris!”
You stood next to him, leaning against the wall with an amused smile. Like you thought Nick’s annoyance was adorable. Like you thought Nick’s shouting at 01:56 AM was endearing.
Suddenly the door swung open and Chris stood there, shirtless and in his boxers. “Honestly, Nick, again?”
“Oh, like you ever brought your own keys,” Nick muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Are you drunk?” Chris asked, surprised.
Nick rolled his eyes. “Barely.” He grabbed your wrist and dragged you inside, pushing past his brother.
“Wait, who’s—“
“Good night, Chris!”
“Is this the—“
“Good night, Chris!”
Nick pulled them into his room and slammed the door shut behind him. The room wasn’t the dirtiest it had ever been, but it wasn’t clean either. He had clothes all over the floor, his gaming controllers tangled on the floor, and it probably didn’t smell good either.
He rushed to the bedside table, trying to unwrap a scented candle. “I— I don’t usually have people in here,” Nick mumbled, blushing brightly as he struggled with the plastic.
You took it from his hands and opened it easily. “My room’s an absolute disaster in comparison. I have way too much shit.”
Nick nodded, lighting the candle. “I don’t have enough, I think.”
They stood in an uncomfortable silence for a moment before speaking at once.
“So, what music do you like?”
“I don’t fuck on the first date.”
Nicks mouth dropped open in surprise. “Wait, what?”
Your eyes widened then. “Oh, I thought—“
“I’m not—“ Nick bit the inside of his cheek. “I’m not like that.”
“Like what?”
Nick winced. “I don’t know.”
“Are you slut-shaming?” You teased, your smile back.
“Oh, fuck off,” Nick grumbled, clearing his things from his bed. “You can go, if you want.”
“Is there any invitation to stay?” You asked, eyebrows raising when Nick turned back to face him. “Without sex?”
Nick sat back on his bed, biting back his own smile. “Maybe.”
“Maybe,” you echoed, sitting down next to him. “I had a good time tonight.”
Nick smiled up at him, head cocking to the side. “Yeah… Oh!” He jumped up from the bed, and grabbed a makeshift bong he had under his bed. “Do you wanna?”
“Oh, I just usually roll,” you explained.
“I don’t have papers.”
“I do.” You shrugged.
That’s how you both ended up on the windowsill with the window open and smoking two joints. You were facing one another with your hands lingering in the space between. Nick was aching to touch, but didn’t dare. He didn’t know why, either.
You liked him, he liked you. At this point, Nick had accepted that. He’d barely thought of Adrian all night and Madi had told him to try. He was trying, but still. He held back. He was always holding back.
“Do you believe it?” Nick whispered.
“Believe what?” You hummed.
“What you said earlier.”
You raised his eyebrows. “I said a lot earlier.”
Nick laughed, shoving your shoulder. “Fuck off. ”
“What part?” You laughed, too. “About what?”
“That we’ll fall in love.” Nick answered, biting his lip and searching your eyes for a lie. For a reason not to.
You smiled fondly, reaching over to gently push a hair behind his ear. “Absolutely.”
***
Two weeks later, Matt and Chris had cornered you in the kitchen with cold eyes. “If you hurt him, in any way, I will break your goddamn face. He is the best person you’ll ever meet, and I swear—“
“Fuck off, both of you!” Nick had groaned when he found you three.
You along with Matt and Chris wrote up and signed a contract. Nick thought it was the most dramatic thing he’s ever witnessed but he’d be lying if he said he didn’t love every second of it.
***
The next month, Nick was being pressed into someone’s bed with your mouth wrapped around him. They were at a party for someone, Nick couldn’t remember who at that point. He had his hands shoved in your hair and had been moaning wantonly when Madi opened the door with a scream.
“I regret this already,” he had groaned, hiding his face in Matt’s shoulder.
***
Four months down the line and Nick was blushing while he met your parents. He had worn a scarf to try to hide all the marks his boyfriend had made on his neck, but it hadn’t helped. Your father high fived you and Nick overheard your mother whispering:
“He really loves you, sweetie.”
“Yeah, I know, Mom.”
“Be good to him.”
You had gasped. “Aren’t you supposed to be on my side? Threatening him?”
“Have you seen that face? He wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
Nick was never seen as soft. Always too loud, too dramatic, too much. He found that he liked being soft.
***
Seven months into it, on the anniversary of Nick’s mom’s death, you were caught up with work. Nick’s convinced you were lying. You thought he was paranoid and doesn’t trust you enough.
Both of you broke up for a full six hours before you met one another at Nick’s front door steps, Nick already fully dressed.
“I was coming to—“
“Me too.”
“Please, Nick, I—“
“I know, me too. I’m—“
“So sorry and—“
“God, baby, I love you.”
“Please don’t leave me.”
“Please don’t leave me.”
***
Around a year in, Nick started to get on edge. He watched you with careful eyes. He never argued with you, he did whatever you wanted or whatever Nick thought you’d like constantly. Nick was tiptoeing. Molding himself to be the best boyfriend possible.
“Babe.” You frowned one day when Nick changed his shirt because you thought he was going to wear a different one. “Nick.”
“Yeah?” Nick asked.
“... I’m not going to break up with you,” you whispered slowly, pulling him in and kissing him slowly. You bit Nick’s lower lip, fucking his mouth with your tongue until your boyfriend was a whining mess in your arms. “I’m in love with you. Okay? I’m so in love with you.”
Nick cried into your shirt the entire night, arms locked around you.
***
Five years in and your fiancé threw an empty milk carton towards your head because you forgot to buy more. You then apologized for a full thirty minutes while trying to stop laughing.
“Why are you always so grumpy?” You grinned.
Nick pouted. “Fuck you.”
***
Madi never set Nick up ever again.

Grumpy (rottmnt)
Tumblr media
Have some PB & J fluff bc I wrote this in class today out of pure boredom and that I missed them. I love this duo so much 🧡💜
Warning: pure and sweet tooth rotting fluff
Summery: Donnie is in a bad mood. It’s up to Mikey to cheer him up.
Mikey could sense people’s emotions. Especially when it’s negative. So when Donnie came into the kitchen that morning, he could tell immediately that he was in a bad mood.
“Morning Don!” Leo cheered. Donnie grunted slightly in reply as he sat down in front of the plate of breakfast Mikey had made.
“You ok Donnie?” Mikey asked tentatively. “Yea m’fine..” he mumbled, forking eggs into his mouth a bit forcefully.
Mikey shot him a worried look but decided to give it a rest.
Later on that day, Donnie’s mood persisted. He was sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone, glaring at the screen.
“Donnie, are you ok?”
“Yes, Angelo, I’m fine.” He told his younger brother, not once looking up from the small screen.
“No you aren’t!” Mikey protested. “You’ve been grumpy all day!”
Donnie merely ignored him. He almost never did that to Mikey because he had such a soft spot for his youngest brother and never wanted to make him sad or upset. But today just wasn’t it.
“Ok. If you won’t be happy, I’ll make you be happy!!!”
Donnie looked up just in time to watch Mikey tackle the him down to the couch. Donnie attempted to fight him off, but admittedly, Mikey was the most skilled fighter of all of them.
“M-Mikey! Nows not the time for this!!!” Donnie protested. Mikey had settled on his legs, keeping him in place, and was now wrestling his arms down.
“No! Not until you’re feeling better again!”
With a surge of determination and a moment of pure strength, he had Donnie’s arms pinned above his head.
“M-Mikey!!” Donnie yelled out, trying to yank his arms out of Mikey’s grip.
“You’ll thank me later.” Mikey told him with a wink, and then began digging his free fingers into his side.
Donnie arched his back slightly, and sealed his lips shut, trying not to let any laughter out. As much as he despised it, for as long as he could remember, he’d been devastatingly ticklish.
“Cmonnn Donnieee you knowww you waanna laugh!!!” Mikey teased.
Donnie could feel the laughter bubbling in his chest.
“Fine.” Mikey said. “You won’t laugh? I’ll just up my.. GAME!!” At the word “game” Mikey used his free hand and went straight for either side of his armpits.
Donnie gasped and finally erupted into loud cackles. Mikey alternated his hand one side to the other rapidly.
“Awwww.. finally! There’s that adorable laugh!!!” Mikey teased. Donnie’s face flushed red, “SHUHUHUT UHUHUPPP!!!”
“But why? It’s true! Your laugh is adorable! Whether you admit it or not.”
“MIHIHIKEYHEY STOHOHOPP!!” Donnie begged again.
“Not until you admit your laugh is adorable.” Mikey told him.
“NOHOHO WAHAHAYY!!”
Man Donnie was stubborn. But that’s ok. Mikey was stubborn also.
“Fine! Then I get to do this for as long as I want, you cant stop me, unless you admit it.”
It wasn’t until Mikey put more force in digging into his underarms that Donnie finally broke.
“AHHHAHA OHOHKAHAHY OHOHKAHAY IHI HAHAHAVE AHAN AHAHDORABLE LAHAHAUGH!!!” Donnie shrieked. He couldn’t help it. The sensations became too maddening to bear.
“Now was that so hard?” Mikey asked with a smirk, releasing his arms and getting off him.
“Ihi… hahate… yohohu… sohoho muhuch…” Donnie said through excess giggles, trying to catch his breath and curling in on himself.
“That’s fair,” Mikey said, “but how do you feel now? Are you still grumpy?”
Donnie sat up and caught the last of his breaths. “No, I guess not…”
As much as he hated the fact that he was just tortured half to death, he had to admit he DID feel a bit better. He shot a small smile a Mikey “Thanks little brother.”
“Anytime!” Mikey said, grinning widely back at him.
Just as Mikey began to get up, Donnie stopped him in his tracks. “And where do you think you’re going? I still haven’t gotten my revenge.”
“W-Wait! Wait, Donnie! N-No!!! AHAHAHA!!”
Donnie had pounced on him and began his attack.
The room was soon filled to the brim with Mikey’s loud and child like laughter.

overview: spencer has a wonderful idea after finding out that reader had never gone to her senior prom
genre: fluff fluff fluff
a/n: i mixed two ideas that have been sitting in my notes app for this lol but i think its sweet!! i wrote it a little rushed and definitely not bc im not getting a prom this year due to miss rona👀 LMAO but as always please lmk what yall think ab it :)
masterlist
-
the idea had fully occupied his thoughts the second after the words left your mouth.
it was "the buttcrack of dawn" as you had called it, though spirits were high on the late jet ride home. it was a rare but much needed positive end to the case, and everyone was happily chatting with each other. since the case was involving high schoolers, the subject fell on prom. everyone went around sharing their prom stories one by one, recalling awful dresses and questionable dates til the questions turned to spencer.
"what ab you, pretty boy, what was your prom like?" morgan asked, still smiling widely from recalling his own.
you watched spencer shift uncomfortably for a second.
"i uh..i never went to prom." he stammered, a tight lipped smile on his face.
"no! you just dont wanna tell us!" prentiss cried, throwing her hands in the air.
"i graduated high school when i was 12! why would i have gone to prom?" he reasoned.
"you had to have gone when you were older or something! everyone has!" jj countered.
"thats not true, i never went to prom either," you defended, subconsciously inching closer to spencer.
before anyone could even ask you to explain why, spencer got the idea. he mentally left the conversation after you gave your answer. he spent the whole rest of the ride home and the next couple of weeks brain storming and planning.
and casually after work one day, as he was walking you to your car, he asked you if you wanted to hang out with him that weekend; at his house.
you and Spencer had hung out before, but mostly at your house or at coffee shops; he didn't invite people over very often.
of course you agreed but you grew confused when he told you to dress fancy.
you raced home afterwards to raid your closet, looking for any fancy dresses you may have stuffed in there.
spencer spent the whole day preparing his apartment. he put up streamers and balloons. he made a playlist of all your favorite songs. and then he rushed to get his clothes from the cleaners.
and when you knocked at his door the breath that left your lungs struggled to come back after he opened the door.
he stood in a gorgeous suit, different than he had ever worn to work. he rubbed the back of his neck and gestured to the living room, revealing the adorable (albeit poorly made but its the thought that counts) decorations.
"um.. welcome to prom," he said, turning back to you, revealing a blushy smile.
he tried not to stare too much at you, but it was difficult. your eyes sparkled as you stepped inside and looked around. and the dress you were wearing fit you so gorgeously he truly couldnt take his eyes off of you.
"spencer, i..." you trailed off, enchanted by what he had done.
"sorry if it looks bad. or if you think its weird that i did this. i just thought cause neither of us went to prom maybe you wanted to have a little one with me? yeah now that i say it out loud maybe you hate it im sorr-" he rambled behind you.
you turned quickly to him as he got lost in his words, eyes glued to the floor. cutting him off by wrapping your arms around his neck and hugging him as tight as you could. you could feel the tension leave his body as he melted into the embrace, returning it gladly. he doesn't like to be touched by anyone really, except for you.
"i love it. thank you," you whispered, giving him one last squeeze before letting go.
he has a spread of snacks lying out on the coffee table which he has mooved to the corner of the room to make space for a makeshift dancefloor.
he turns on the music and you two start talking and dancing and laughing. two fools with four left feet completely and obliviously in love. well, oblivious the the other anyway.
a slower song came on, an old one that you had wanted to slow dance to ever since you were a little girl. and somehow naturally you two came together, his hand dropped to your waist, the other delicately cradling your own. your other hand found its way up to his shoulder, feeling as though a magnet was pulling you two closer. and closer.
he looked absolutely stunning. the soft lights he had strung around the apartment sparkled like stars in his eyes; its was...dizzying, in the most incredible way.
unbeknownst to you, as you stared at the stars in his eyes he was looking at his whole world that he had been somehow lucky enough to hold in his arms.
he held his arm out, allowing you to spin and when he pulled you back both of your arms ended up wrapped around his neck, and his around your waist. you were less dancing now and more...hugging. with your head pressed to his chest, he hoped with all his might that you wouldn't be able to hear his hammering heart. you most definitely could, but it was calming to know he was as nervous as you were. you smiled, listening more to his heart than the music he had played for you.
you were both sure that you could burst from pure bliss. the song ended a little too quickly for either of your liking and reluctantly you let go of each other. and suddenly Spencer was hit with the realization that he forgot something.
"oh my gosh," his eyes widened as he looked around the room.
"what?" you asked, mirroring him and looking as well.
"i can't remember where i left your corsage! i was gonna give it to you at the door but i forgot!" he exclaimed, running around the room checking shelves.
you smiled to yourself. he got you a corsage!
"ill help you look" you decided.
"please do," he chuckled.
"i thought you had an eidetic memory, shouldn't you know where you left it?" you joked, shooting him a smug smile.
"y/n, my brain was all jumbled to day and it wasn't just from being around you," he realized what he had said and quickly turned back to the shelf he was looking at, "could you check in my room please?"
his heart was racing at his own stupidity; how could he just say that so nonchalantly? he had been planning to tell you that he liked you for the longest time he cant afford slipping up and having it be anything less than perfect.
you slipped into his room, your cheeks warm from the idea that you make his big brain all jumbled. he probably didn't mean it like that, you were just looking too much into it.
you sighed as you crouched to look under his bed for it. you found a small wooden box that you slid out from underneath. it had your name on it.
is it normal to keep a corsage in a wooden box? you wouldn't know, you never went to prom.
you shrugged your shoulders, "i found it spence!"
with out thinking you opened the box, except instead of a band of flowers you were greeted with letters, all addressed to you. there were annotations written in the margins with purple ink. you furrowed your eyebrows as you scanned the various letters.
dear y/n,
today you complimented my glasses and my heart skipped a beat. thats dumb spencer dont start like that
dear y/n,
im in love with you. too forward
dear y/n,
you make life worth living. shes gonna think youre a creep
you felt a rush of euphoria fill your chest. did he really feel these things for you? your thoughts swirled in the most wonderful way. a wide smile broke across your face, butterflies running rampage through your stomach as you reread his words. his words addressed to you.
"oh thank God i really thought i lost-oh. oh no." spencer started as he walked through the door of his room immediately walking back out. you followed, blinking your watery eyes at him. "i can explain.
"i think youve explained enough, theres like 20 letters in here!" you chuckled, flipping through them.
"i didnt know how to tell you and i dont want to ruin what we already have and i-"
"it wasnt too forward." you stated, grabbing one of the letters.
"what?" he asked, dumbfounded.
"in this one," you held up the letter, "you wrote dear y/n, im in love with you. and then you crossed it out and wrote that it was too forward but i dont think it was."
"youre not mad?"
"mad? spencer ive been trying to admit the fact that im in love with you since i realized it myself, why would i be mad?"
"youre..you feel the same way?" he looked back up at you, a hesitant smile pulling on the corners of his lips.
"more so," you beamed, stepping closer.
he wrapped his arms around you, "thats good or else the rest of this prom would have sucked."
you chuckled, pulling him impossibly closer to you as another perfect song played.

WORD COUNT: 2.2K
You stood frozen as he stepped out of the elevator, his eyes soft as he met yours, waking towards you.
“Get away from me.” you whisper, attempting to push past him and get into the elevator, pressing the door closed button before even pressing a floor, not wanting him to get any closer.
“Y/N, wait!” he rushed, sticking his hand between the doors and stopping it, his tall frame standing before you that you quickly push past, going back to lock yourself in your apartment, and lock him out, “Please, let me explai-“
“No!” you stopped, voice firm as you turned to face him, “you can’t keep doing this! you can’t keep showing up like this! So just leave me alone.”
You kept walking, ignoring his pleas as he came after you, successfully unlocking your apartment door rapidly, but you catch a glimpse of rings as he hand stops the door.
“Please.” He whispered, not pushing the door open and you saw a flicker of his eyes and you could almost see the sincerity in them, “I know I don’t deserve it, I really don’t, but I would just love to talk to you for real this time, anything you want to know.”
“and you’re not gonna be an asshole this time?” you asked, leaning against the doorframe, peaking at him, “because if you are, I swear to god Styles I will give you 5 seconds to get the fuck out.”
“Promise.” He nodded and your heart believed him, so you opened the door.
You watched as he shoved his hands deep in his pockets, slowly entering your apartment and you didn’t miss how his eyes scanned you quickly, before bouncing around the apartment, looking around the space he used to be so familiar with.
You watched how he headed to the couch about to sit but stutter stepped a bit, scratching the back of his neck and looking at you, almost asking you if it’s okay if he sits down.
You gave him a soft smile and nod, tucking a loose hair behind your ear and sitting on one side of the couch, thankful he sat on the other, giving you each plenty of space as your eyes met. The tension was slowly rising, looking at each other as you sat, wondering who was going to break the silence.
“I never meant for anything to happen.” he whispered, his head falling as a shameful look covered his face, avoiding your eyes, “After the breakup… I- I was just lost. I was messing up at work and I just was doing shit. Then, it was like only like a month ago, I was getting drunk all the time and she just came into my trailer and we were talking and then she kissed me.”
You just nodded, biting your bottom lip and picking at your nails, peaking up and looking at him, your glossy eyes meeting his bloodshot ones, not really having anything to say in response.
“And I just…” he started, “I wanted to feel better, feel anything. So, we just started hanging out more and I just really wanted to feel something, feel a connection. So we took a trip to Italy because… It’s always been a place that made me feel better and then…”
“Yeah.” you chuckled, “and then… Why did you bring her to our house? I know we haven’t talked about that kind of stuff, but it’s mine too Harry and… just seeing you two there? I never felt more replaceable than I did when I saw you two.”
“Oh love, no.” He whispered, scooting closer to you, a hand coming up to cup your face to help your eyes meet, but he retracted it back before he made contact with your skin, “I’m so, so sorry. I’m so sorry and I will never be able to prove to you, but that was never my intention to ever hurt you. The breakup was a mistake.”
“I… How am I supposed to believe that?” you squeaked, voice cracking as the barrier breaks, tears falling on your cheeks as you looked up at him, “We we’re together for years and you just- I mean fuck Harry! I haven’t even thought about even starting to flirt with someone and you’re…”
“We’ve never had sex,” He quietly added cheeks turning a bit red, “or done anything like that. At all, I just… couldn’t.”
Your eyes widen a bit at the confession, watching as he looked at his hands, a slight twinge of embarrassment on his features.
“Oh.” you whispered, “I know I shouldn’t be mad, we… we aren’t together and you have have the right to do whatever you want but it’s just… hard. Especially when I wasn’t expecting it. I went to Italy to try and get away, everything in the city makes me think of you, I don’t know why I thought staying at the house would be any better but, I just wanted to get away.”
“Sorry I ruined your trip.”
“Sorry I ruined your hookups.”
He let out a laugh, the smile staying a bit longer when he noticed you had subconsciously scooted a bit closer to him.
“It’s not like I ever really wanted to… Even little Harry only wants you.” he flirted and an instant, loud laugh leaves your lips, leaning forward and your brace yourself on his shoulder, a simple thing you had done over the years countless times, but still made his heart skip a beat.
“Oh my god,” you said between breathless laughs, your bodies now less then a foot apart as you smiled up at him, “please do not call it little Harry!”
“What do you prefer?” He smirked, “rather I call it bi-“
“What the fuck?” a voice spoke suddenly, both of your red eyes going to your front door and seeing your best friend standing their, her eyes wide in a mix of confusion and anger. Your hand retracted from his body quickly, your best friend looking at you with soft eyes, her eyes darting over to Harry’s and you see the fiery anger behind them, “Y/N, please tell me he was getting whatever shit he left behind and is leaving.”
“We were just talking.” You started, glancing over at Harry, seeing a bit of fear behind his eyes and your lips quirked up in a smile that quickly faded seeing the anger in y/bff/n eyes.
“What do you want to talk to him about? How he broke your heart again?” She asked, confusion and concern laced in her voice, “I’m sorry, y/n, I just… I can’t watch you go through all of it all over again and again.”
You opened your mouth to protest, but he quickly stood up beside you giving you a quick nod as he glanced over at y/bff/n the back at you, “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have just showed up. It was so good to see you, y/n, I’ll get out of your way.”
“Harry, wait!” you stood up, hating the softening in your voice, “I want to talk more… are you staying or do you have to go back to L.A?”
“I’ll be here as long as you need me. And if you want me gone, I’ll book my flight. Okay? It’s up to you, whatever you want.”
“Okay… Can I call you later?”
“You can call me anytime, I’ll pick up.”
***
Y/bff/n definitely wasn’t thrilled with you.
“I just feel like this is a bad idea, y/n!” She had exclaimed once Harry had left your apartment, “He’s gonna hurt you again! What could he possibly want?”
“I dont know, I just… I dont know.” You sighed, sitting across from her on your couch just like you did with him, “I love him and I don’t know what’s going to happen but I don’t want to end up hating him.”
She nodded, looking at you as your eyes glazed over again, “Hey, okay, I’m sorry. I just don’t want you upset. Do you still wanna go try this new place or just hang out here? Let’s get your mind off of everything, you need a break, yeah? Especially if you’re going to talk to him later.”
“Do you think I should?"
“If that’s what you think, I think you should. You know him.” She nods, “but I swear to god if he makes you cry again he’ll have to deal with me.”
So now, here you were, waiting on him to come back to finish your talk from earlier. It was helpful hanging out with y/bff/n, listening to her advice as she gave you a bit of the reality check that you needed, making sure he won’t sweep you off your feet with his familiar charm.
Your heart rate never fully calmed down as you waited for him to come back to your apartment after y/bff/n dropped you back off after your afternoon together and you were glad for the few hours of a distraction, but now your mind was fully occupied with him once again as you sat on your couch.
The knock on your door caused you to jump, hoping up and checking your appearance in your hall mirror before swinging open the door, seeing Harry standing their with a bouquet of flowers, a small smile on his face.
“Got these for you,” he began, “shoulda showed up with them when I kinda crashed into you earlier… but I was so nervous I didn’t think about it, honestly.”
“Thank you.” You softly replied, eyeing up at him and taking them from his grip, letting out a shaky breath as you welcome him in and turn on your heel, going to your kitchen to place them into a vase quickly before going back to him, seeing him in the same spot you two were sitting in earlier.
“I just wanted to say I’m sorry again… and thank you for letting me come back and talk to you at all, really don’t deserve your time, but I’m thankful for it.” He began, eyes glued onto yours as he scooted closer to you when you sat down, his fingers tentatively trailing on your arm before laying his hand on your own, “I… I want you back, y/n. I want to be with you, I never stopped wanting just you.”
“Harry, I… I don’t know what to say.” You started, “I just… there’s so much still up in the air and it’s all happening so fast. Are you still with Olivia?”
“No, of course not.” He instantly answered, “we were never anything real, I left Italy when I went to the house and you were gone. I came back here and I just… I would sit outside your building in my car and just try and get the nerve to walk in to talk to you, but I was so scared of you telling me to leave again.” Harry started deep into your eyes as he continued, his own welling up with tears, “I love you so much and I was such an idiot and fuck baby… I’ll do anything to prove it you.”
Now, you two were just inches apart, his hand cupping your cheek as you leaned into it, eyes glued onto his eyes as both of your gazes were glassy, sets of eyes wandering down to one another’s lips. Your eyes fluttered up and looked at him, his nose nudging into yours, seeming to test the boundary and you simply nodded, causing him to connect your lips in an instant.
Your lips met softly, gaining speed as the passion overflowed you both as the familiar move came back easier than either of you could have imagined. You both moaned into one another’s mouths, his tongue quickly sliding past your lips as your crawled onto his lap, fingers gripping the soft material of his shirt.
Things escalated quickly as he carried you into your bedroom, body hovering over yours as his body pressed against yours, the articles of clothing disappearing piece by piece, lips never separating a second longer than they had to you as you refamilarized yourselves with one another.
His fingers dug their way into your waist as he kissed you harder, singular pieces of thin material being the only things separating you and as Harrys fingers slipped down, pulling back and looking up at you for permission, your breath caught in your throat, reality hitting you like a wave.
“I can’t do this.” You whispered, fingers removing themselves from his hair as you covered your face, voice wavering as tears welled up in your eyes once again, “I-it’s all too much, too fast- I-I, I don’t think I can do this, Harry- I can’t.”
“Fuck, it’s okay.” He whispered, crawling off from on top of you, scrambling to pick his t shirt off the floor and handing to you, quickly covering your body with it, “Fuck, I’m sorry, did I hurt you?”
You nodded quickly, knees tucking into your chest as you let out soft cries, flinching as his arm came around you, going to comfort you with the soft stroke of his arm and retracted it quickly after seeing your reaction.
“I-I… I just keep seeing you and her in my head.” You whispered, “…I don’t know if I can do this.”

Car Sick P1 ~ Dominic Calvert-Lewin
A/N: This is sort of carried on from this blurb I wrote a while ago, bc I loved the idea and wanted to write more for it, you should probs read that first to catch the vibes. This is for @footballffbarbiex writing challenge based on tv and film. I used this storyline from Modern Family with Gloria and Jay. Once again, no real timeline with this, just made up scenarios. I struggled with the next bit of this so I asked you how you wanted it and you chose 2 parts, here's the 1st. Enjoy :)
Warnings: pregnancy, kids, step parents, injury mention - reader is female
Summary: You thought you were just feeling car sick, turns out it's something else...
Tumblr media Tumblr media

You were dropping your daughter off at Dele's for a long weekend since he didn't have a match or training to attend. After she had squeezed the biggest hug out of her dad and trudged dirt in his hallway, she perched on the sofa with her ipad and juicebox, leaving you and Dele to catch up.
Dele had been showing you how he redecorated his kitchen so you accepted a drink and decided to stay a little while. Plus you figured the news you had for him should rather be said in person than over the phone.
"Hey, Del, I have something to tell you." You said nervously, leaning your hands on the kitchen island. He turned around and took a sip of the drink he just poured as he walked closer to the other side of the island opposite you. "Go ahead." He replied, his eyebrows knitted in concern at your worried tone.
"Well, remember when we stopped by last Friday since you were playing on her birthday?" you recollected and he nodded along. "And I had one of those herbal teas and a tablet because I was feeling car sick?" "Yeah..." he trailed off quietly, putting his drink on the counter between you. "Turns out I wasn't car sick," he frowned in confusion and looked even more lost than he did a moment ago.
You fiddled your fingers together and took a deep breath, steadying yourself. You knew you could trust Dele with absolutely anything. You'd been close since you were teenagers, grew closer when you started dating and left nothing in the way when you had a baby. Being so young when it happened meant a lot of things turned against you, a lot of people with a lot of opinions trying to dictate your lives and yet you stuck it through. You haven't been together romantically for a while, however your relationship with him never faultered, your connection of trust staying strong.
But it didn't make this any easier to say. It wasn't hard to see when Dele got hit by moments of gloom at the sight of the mini family you were creating with Dominic. While your split years ago was amicable, and neither of you would rekindle that flame again, more than happy with your close friendship, Dele couldn't stop that jealous bubble rising in him when he saw your daughter enjoy spending time with Dom as much as she does with him. Blame his stubbornness but facing change wasn't his strongest suit. This news was going to be a big step away from that picturesque life you both once envisioned together and you desperately didn't want it to drive a wedge between you nor push Dele away. You had settled into a good rhythmic system with him that suited your daughter and your schedules, you'd hate to tarnish that in any way.
So, yes, you hesitated to tell him.
You sighed and picked at your nails, needing to just get it out before it drove you crazy.
"I'm pregnant."
Dele's eyes went wide and his mouth opened a little from shock, the frown lines that creased his forehead disappearing. His breath was taken away. Nothing prepared him to hear those words come from your mouth and know that he wasn't involved. It was bound to happen but it still took him by surprise.
He tilted his head as he looked at you, nervously twiddling your thumbs like you always did, and it only took a few seconds for a smile to slowly grow on his face. "That," he cleared his throat and met your eyes with sincerity, "that's great. Congratulations."
He scuffed his socked feet along the floor as he walked round the counter to wrap you in a warm hug. He squeezed your shoulder and gave your cheek a quick kiss when he pulled away, a genuine smile on his face. No, he wasn't involved this time, but he knew how amazing it was to experience pregnancy and he was certain Dominic would take to it greatly.
"What did Dom say?" He asked, leaning over to grab his glass and take another drink. Your breath caught in your throat and that made Dele side-eye you mid sip. "You haven't told him, have you?" He questioned gently, and you shook your head.
Now it was his turn to sigh.
The glass clinked loudly in the quiet room when he put it back down, and he had a ton of questions he could have asked you and a ton of things he could have told you to do that he thought was right, but it wasn't his place. Not anymore. So he took a moment to think whilst you rubbed your hands down your front to straighten out your t-shirt again.
"Are you going to?" You tutted and looked back up at him incredulously. "Of course I am Del, think it'll be pretty hard to miss when I'll be bursting through my clothes!" You joked and he held his hands up in defence as he chuckled, realising it was a stupid question.
"Are you nervous, then?" He tried again, this time opting for something more reasonable. "More nervous than when I told you for the first time." You admitted. Dele whistled lowly and shook his head with a laugh.
The state you were in a bit under 7 years ago now when you told him you were going to have his child, it was something else. He still insists he hasn't seen someone so frantic, before or since. He could only imagine what was coming Dominic's way.
---
There were plenty of reasons for you to believe Dom would be happy to be a dad. He adored his young brother and truly enjoyed spending time with him when he was back home. He was thoughtful and attentive with all the people he knew so you know he'd be the same, multiplied by a million, when it came to a child that depended on him.
But the way he cared for your daughter above anyone else proved to you, without a doubt, how good he would be. Dom wasn't her biological father, but that never once stopped him loving her the way she deserved. Dom made sacrifices when he needed to and even when he didn't. He'd stay awake if she couldn't sleep, he'd ask to see her on facetime when he was travelling and he always asked her about school, he even did the afternoon pick up with you when he got the chance. If Dom would be such an amazing figure in the life of a little girl he had no obligation to be a part of, just imagine what he'd be like with his own child.
You wouldn't question his want or excitement to have kids with you at any time, having spoken about it before.
Any time except now.
Dom hadn't been himself the last week, and justifiably so. He picked up a knee injury in the Merseyside derby last Saturday that resulted in him hopelessly limping off the pitch with the physio under his arm to hold him up. A torn ACL was the conclusion after a couple hours in the hospital. While an injury was never welcome, a minimum six months out was tough to take. But with the upcoming England tournament he'd been called up for that he will now have to miss, alongside the rest of the Premier League season, it shattered him. His club and his country had important matches this year and it killed him to not be able to help secure some much needed wins for them.
Most of Sunday was spent doting on him, helping him relax and alleviating both his physical and mental pain, offering comfort through his favourite meals and hours of cuddles, something your daughter happily assisted with.
However, by the time Monday rolled around, his rest was stifled by your daughter's birthday party.
Despite how often you'd sat him back down, Dom wasn't used to sitting all day and had helped you decorate the house whilst your girl was at school. The balloons were littered in the front room, the buffet snacks laid out on the dining table, and the banners Dom had pinned on the ceiling blew from the gentle breeze coming in through the back door.
So by the time you pulled into the drive with a car full of young girls eager for sugar, Dom was working on half a bar of energy already. Yet he played along with the party activities and managed to dance, or more shuffle, to some Disney songs on his crutches inbetween sneaking mini sausage rolls and chocolate biscuits.
You could see him getting more tired as each kid left, but "she only turns 6 once, right?", so he persisted on keeping the party lively until your daughter was knocked out in bed, out of her party dress but still wearing the new bracelet she got from Grandma.
You trailed behind Dom with two cups of tea as he hobbled toward the sofa, barely managing to keep himself up despite it only being 9pm. He dropped heavily on the cushions in the corner and let his crutches fall on the carpet, not caring where they landed as long as they stayed within reach. The sigh that left him could have knocked down a tree.
Before you got comfortable, you put his mug on the table and put a random sitcom on the TV. Dom's eyes were closed and his legs were stretched out as best as they could be, his injured knee up on the couch in front of him with a cushion underneath and an ice pack held on top.
"I'm telling you, I feel way too old for this." He muttered just loud enough to hear. "You're only 24." You chuckled a little into your tea at his complaint.
"Yeah," he rolled his head your way, hair falling on his face, "but running after her makes me feel 70, she knocks me out," he spoke quietly but with the last tints of energy in his tone, "and with this peg leg too you gotta change that to 80."
You smiled at him sympathetically and loosely linked your fingers with his, rubbing your thumb on the back of his hand as let his eyes close again.
He was joking, it was obvious. But a niggling part of your brain told you that he wasn't just being dramatic.
Admittedly it was a tiring evening with your daughter's friends running around, but with the lack of energy left in Dom, how could a baby be added to that scenario and it not be an issue? Maybe it was the wrong time. Maybe, no definitely, getting pregnant when Dom wasn't shrouded by an injury, when he didn't have frustration on top of frustration on his shoulders, when there wasn't a hyperactive 6 year old that needed attention too - that would definitely be a better time to have a baby. But that wasn't what life had handed you. Life was a little more complicated in its ways than to give you an easy run, you knew that well enough by now.
What concerned you most was how Dom would handle it. Whilst he had picked up parenting duties well over the past couple years, he hadn't been there when your daughter was a baby, nor had he seen how tough it was on you at the time. The thought of raising another was scaring you, so it would surely terrify Dom, doing it for the first time.
Even before the time came to hold them in your arms, being pregnant was no easy deal. So how could he possibly handle the stress of an upcoming baby, the stress of having to look after 2 kids in the future, the stress of a cranky pregnant girlfriend, the stress of prepping the house and himself, all whilst he's hobbling on crutches and having to watch his teammates from the sidelines too?
You sipped your tea and let the TV fill the room as your brain ran overdrive with questioning thoughts, sitting silent next to your boyfriend who's head seemed full of only the sleep he was dreaming of, oblivious to the changes that were coming his way.

-Hinata Shoyo-
Light shone into the car with each person that drove by as they left the parking lot you had been sitting in for nearly an hour now. Practice had ended over an hour ago, yet Hinata hadn’t come out of the gym yet.
It was normal for him to run late, but this was getting out of hand. He hadn’t even sent a single text to let you know what was going on.
Reading the last one you sent asking when he was coming out, a sigh left your lips when you noticed. He’d left you on read.
A part of you wanted to leave him at the gym, for him to find his own way back to your shared apartment; but you couldn’t. As badly as he deserved it, you had other plans for him.
This wasn’t the first time Hinata had done this either, sometimes he’d get so caught up in whatever he was doing he’d forget to even check his phone, let alone look at the time. You wanted to cut him some slack, but you had warned him once before.
Glancing at the doors once more, you took a slow breath in. Waiting for him to come out for one more minute. When there was no sign of him still, you turned the car off, heading towards the gym.
Hunting down your boyfriend was the last thing that you wanted to do, you were exhausted already. Your entire day had been draining, and you only wanted to go home and relax. But there you were, pushing the doors open, only to find the gym empty.
“Hello?”
Your voice bounced off the walls, echoing back to you loudly. Looking around, there was nothing showing anyone was still there, except for Hinata’s bag sitting alone across the room.
Just as you were crossing the gym toward the bag he slipped through a door, eyes wide when he noticed you. It took you a second to process that he was in front of you now, you weren’t exactly sure what to say, but you weren’t happy, and he could tell.
“Shoyo.” You narrowed your eyes slightly, crossing your arms over your chest. The simple movement made him drop his eyes as if he were trying to hide from your intense glare.
“Hi, y/n.” His voice was quiet, much quieter than his normal self. Shifting his weight as he spoke, eyes fixed on his bag.
You didn’t say anything else for a moment, not sure if you should even talk. You couldn’t tell if you were more upset at the fact he knew what he did or not. It was one thing to simply forget to send a message, but him purposefully ignoring your texts pissed you off.
“Are you, um.. are you okay?” He asked, slowly looking you in the eyes, a small look of concern sitting on features.
“I think I should be asking you that, Sho.” Tilting your head slightly, you stared at him waiting for him to explain why he took so long.
“I’m okay. I was just about to come meet you.”
That answer made your blood hot, you could barely hold back what you wanted to say in response. Closing your eyes for a moment, you tried calming yourself, even if was only a little.
“Oh, so you did know I was here.” You spoke lowly, holding him in your stare once more. He stiffened when you started walking toward him, eyes wide as your gripped the collar of his shirt, pulling him to look up at you.
“Are you mad-“
“Don’t pretend to be innocent, Sho. I know you read my text I sent nearly an hour ago.” Your lips pulled back into a sneer when he dropped his eyes from yours once more. Letting go of his shirt you took a step back, reading the label on the door from where he came, it was the showers.
Stepping around him he didn’t take his eyes off the floor as you walked to the door and pulled it open.
“Remember what I said last time you did this?” You didn’t even have to say anything else as you stepped into the hallway, he followed behind you quietly. You knew he remembered, but he probably wouldn’t answer on his own.
Hinata usually got quiet when you were upset, not wanting to make anything worse. He really did try to be good; it was just sometimes he got a little distracted.
“I hope none of your teammates are here, Sho, or they’re going to hear you whining like a little bitch soon.” Your voice dripped with the anger you felt, but it was steady, scarily calm.
Once you were in the showers, you spun on your heels slowly. In an instant his back was pressed against the cold tile, a small shiver running down his back as your hot breath fanned over his lips.
He didn’t want to look at you, but for some reason he couldn’t tear his eyes from yours. Even as you swiftly pushed down his gym shorts, a venom-soaked saccharine smile pulling at your lips.
He wasn’t sure what to do, or where to put his hands. Was he allowed to touch you? He probably didn’t deserve it, but he wanted to. Especially as your fingers wrapped around his slowly hardening length.
If the look in your eyes wasn’t on the forefront of his thoughts, he would’ve felt the burn of his cheeks at your touch, and gaze.
“You’re already pretty hard, Sho. What were you thinking about that got you so worked up?” You asked sweetly, the tone of your voice harshly contrasting your actions as you gripped his jaw, pulling him closer to your face. “Answer me.”
“Um, I don’t know, you’re just so… I can’t explain it.”
You nearly laughed at his answer, it was almost pathetic how he couldn’t resist you when he disobeyed you. It was like he did it on purpose, just so he could have you like this.
“You don’t know.. well if that’s the case, why don’t you get yourself off, hm? A little slut like you doesn’t even deserve me to touch them. Not after you made me wait as long as I did.” You leaned closer to him, your hand tightening on his neck as you did. Letting your grip on his cock go, raising an eyebrow as you waited for him to listen to you.
Slowly, after shutting his eyes for a moment, he gripped himself. Stroking his cock loosely, the blush deepening on his cheeks as he did. He hated this, he knew he didn’t deserve it but he wanted it to be your hand, desperately wanted to feel your touch again. He listened though, saying anything back to you would only make it worse.
“Awe, look how cute you are. Is it embarrassing touching yourself in front of me?” He whined softly when you pushed closer to him, barely brushing against his length as he sped up his hand. Trying to mimic your expert movements, how you seemed to always make him melt as you touched him.
It was nothing like how you did it though, nothing close to the pleasure he felt when your pretty fingers were wrapped around his aching cock, pumping him just right. His eyes fluttered shut, not being able to look into yours anymore.
“No, no shutting your eyes. I want you to see me watch you pathetically touch yourself, I thought you could do it better, or am I the only one who can make you feel good like that, hm?” You pulled away from him when he opened his eyes again, watching as he changed his pace slowing down once more. Trying to find something that felt similar to what he was searching for.
Tears of frustration were starting to prick his eyes mixing with the embarrassment pooling in his chest. You weren’t surprised when they spilled over, slipping down his cheeks. The satisfied grin on your face only pushing his embarrassed crying further, needy whines slipping from his throat, but he kept stroking himself. Eyes screwing shut once more as he tried to stop the tears from coming.
You were about to say something else, maybe let him stop when you were interrupted. The loud creaking of the door opening sounded once more, followed by loud heavy footsteps.
Hinata’s eyes flew open, and he looked to you with wide eyes, you only smiled and moved closer to him, enough to shield him if needed.
“Hinata! You in here?” A loud voice called out, and you recognized it almost immediately. Not even giving him a chance to respond, Bokuto stepped around the corner. You moved away from Hinata again, giving Bokuto a clear view of him.
“Hey, Bo.” You smiled at the larger man as if there was nothing going on, his wide eyes flicked between you and Hinata several times, trying hard to not look at the redhead’s hand.
“Y/n, what are you doing in here?” Bokuto’s voice was quiet, nearly a whisper when he asked it.
“Teaching Hinata a lesson. You wouldn’t happen to know why he was here so late, would you?” You asked slowly, raising an eyebrow when Bokuto shook his head rapidly, you definitely didn’t believe him. Especially with the blush that spread across his cheeks. “Hm, well you’re free to stay if you want. I’m sure Hinata wouldn’t mind, would you baby?”
Hinata let out a shaky breath, like he had been holding it in since Bokuto arrived. Forcing himself to look at the tall man, barely meeting his eyes. Shaking his head, he didn’t quite trust his voice yet, not with the obvious tent growing in Bokuto’s shorts.
Seeing Hinata with his head tilted against the tile, tears spilling down his cheeks as he gripped his cock, it was something he thought he’d never see. Bokuto could hardly look at you now, there was an edge in the tone of your voice he’d never heard before, it scared him slightly.
Raking your eyes down Hinata’s form, you shook your head slightly, catching his attention once more.
“I didn’t tell you to stop, Shoyo. Show Bokuto just how much of a slut you are, and maybe I’ll think about touching you myself, okay?”

Come Inside, It’s Ok
Desc: Hop realizes that Billy is a lot like him when he was a teen- based on the song Thirteen by Big Star (bc that’s a Jopper AND a Harringrove anthem, tell me i’m wrong)
TW: referenced past child abuse, referenced homophobia, every dad in Hawkins sounds like an abusive asshole in this fic i didn’t mean it 😞
you can also read this on AO3 right here!! ♥
~*~
James Hopper hated his father more than anyone else hated the man. More than his uncle who had to grow up with the jerk. More than his mother who threatened to divorce the deadbeat seven times. More than anyone.
Hopper’s father was abrasive and loud. He joined the army because he wanted to. He gave up his individuality willingly. He shaved his head and licked the boot of The Man and acted superior for it. He looked down on a young Jimmy Hopper and barked in his face and ordered that he become a man. Quicker. Jim was only 7. He had just broken an arm at football practice. He needed reassurance and comfort. He got condescension and a mother threatening to leave. Loudly.
James Hopper was sure he was the only son in the world who hated his own father. He felt sure as hell about it when he stuck his jaw out and looked past his nose at his father who always seemed to tower over him. Even when the man only had an inch on him, he was larger- always looming. He felt sure as hell about it when he’d narrow his eyes and refuse to listen. He felt sure as hell about it when he talked back to him, and got into yelling matches with him, and slammed the door on him.
He felt even more sure the one night he got hit.
He was more than certain he was the only one. Standing there, staring this horrible bulk of a man down, Jimmy knew no one else had ever felt such a thing before. This wasn’t TV or the movies. This wasn’t a family love you cherish by the fire on a cold Christmas night. This wasn’t a father with kind eyes and a stern voice who comes into the house in the evening with his suit on and his briefcase in hand, kissing his kids and smiling brightly. This was different and he knew it.
And all of that anger and stress and feeling of certainty made him take too long to realize something crucial. Because he didn’t realize you can know something and yet still be so wrong.
That is, until Phil didn’t come to school one day.
Jimmy figured he was sick. A couple days later he figured it was that nasty stomach bug. A week later and he figured his family took a trip. A week and a few days had him itching with worry. He asked his best friend as calmly as he could. That friend looked at him like he was nuts.
“You didn’t hear?”
“Hear what?”
“He moved away. His mom took him out of the state last weekend. They just left.”
Jim couldn’t understand the words for a second.
“Why?”
“You didn’t know? His dad has been roughing him up for years now. He got the mom too, I think. Why do you think he was always wearing sweaters all year long?”
Jim’s heart stopped.
“His mom finally got him out. They left.”
“Why did no one say anything about it?”
“Because you don’t talk about that stuff.” Jim’s friend said, hushed and knowing, eyes turned solemn and hiding a world Jim didn’t know lived in there. In his most outspoken, lively friend. In his friend he’d known since they were toddlers.
You don’t talk about that stuff he said like he had a whole world of pain to tell. Jim knew his friends were like him- dads who were tough as nails and grunted more than spoke. It was why they all got along so well. But they never mentioned their fathers being… Jim was so sure he was the only one. Everyone else did things with their family. Everyone else seemed so perfect. At the very least they seemed better. Jim was sure.
Why did no one say anything about it? quickly morphed into Why did I never even ask?
Starting there, Jim kept a critical eye out. He watched his friends and what they were wearing. The way they moved and the changes in those movements. The words they spoke about their parents. He noticed differences and fluctuating emotions. But stil, he was only a young teenager- he never knew what to do. His mouth couldn’t form around the words he felt he should say. His brain could barely provide them. So he did for them what he would have liked- just took them out to empty fields and deep into the woods. He provided them beer and music. Sometimes, when they were splitting at the seams, he’d fight them a bit. He’d egg them on so they could fight it out. Get the anger out. Help, somehow. Inadvertently. Lord knew Jimmy sometimes just needed to punch shit. Turns out, his friends felt the same way, and often.
When his daughter Sarah came, he handled her gently and spoke to her even softer. He got into fights with his now ex-wife over his not being strict enough but Hop couldn’t find it in himself to have any kind of gruffness toward someone so soft and so innocent and so pure. She was the light of his life. She left so quickly. Even his softness and kindness couldn’t save her, and he couldn’t very well beat the shit out of her enemies like he had wished to.
And when he met Billy Hargrove on the side of the road that one dark night, having pulled him over for speeding drunkenly down the lonely streets on the outskirts of town, every red flag flew up. Every worry and fear he found within himself when he was a teen found its place once again inside of him for this boy. For his bruised face and exhausted eyes. For his lightly cut chin and short breath. Hop became young Jimmy yet again, analyzing and fearing for a world of pain he couldn’t see and couldn’t ask about. He searched hard for words this time and found all the wrong ones. He exhausted the poor boy with his inability to articulate his fears and was successful in taking him in only because he had worn him out so badly.
Still, since then, he’s been here. He’s family now. He’s out of there. In all his fumbling Hop did something right.
And yet, things still feel wrong. Billy still walks tentatively around him, like the cabin is going to crash down above him and any relationship they’ve built up is going to shatter.
Hop thinks about it so often. He thinks about Billy and sees his own friends from high school. He sees parts of himself, but sadder, angrier… more helpless. He thinks endlessly on what he can do to fix it.
~Won’t you let me walk you home from school~
A song starts playing through his record player and he’s lost again in the world of Jimmy vs. Billy. He thinks of how life used to feel simple.
This song always whisks him away to high school. The early days when life was confused and wandering and he was just coming into his own with football, not nearly a “star” yet and Joyce… Joyce was young and wide eyed and wandering just the same. By that point she hadn’t even met Lonnie yet. She was awkward and yet still so beautiful. So quiet and so stunning. Her laughter rang through the hallways and he swears he can still hear it.
This song feels like it’s for them. When he first heard it, he saw her face back when they were freshmen and then sophomores, when he used to walk her home. He always used to walk her home, before he got his car and before she got Lonnie. They’d walk so slow, wandering through the streets, lazily strolling past stores and getting slightly distracted by the people zooming past on their bikes.
He sits forward on the couch and he looks down at the tattered carpet and he hears himself as Jimmy.
”C’mon Joyce… we can hit the pool this weekend.”
“I’m busy.”
“Then… then maybe Friday I can get a couple tickets for that dance.”
“What?”
He gave her his biggest, brightest grin, knowing he caught her off guard. He smiles a little now at the thought.
”Yeah, c’mon, Joyce. I’ll take ya. I’ll get a monkey suit and you can wear a dress-”
She had laughed that bright, ringing laugh. It made him smile every time.
“Yeah, I think I’ll pass.”
“You’re gonna pass up a chance to dance with me?”
“Don’t tell me, you’re the best dancer in Hawkins?”
“You’ll never know if you don’t come find out.”
“You’re really full of yourself, aren’t you?”
Hop has a hard time thinking of himself back then. He felt so sure of everything. Of himself and what he was doing, even if he knew he didn’t know anything at all. Still, he chuckles now as he sits here, thinking about Joyce’s smile and her little nod. Thinking about him buying those tickets. Thinking about the night they had together, awkward and fumbling but bright still. His first real kiss that had real feelings to go along with it. The way Joyce walked so quickly as they headed to her home because she was so nervous. The way she never let him walk her up to her house because she was so scared her parents would ground her.
Lord does he remember the fights. The stress and the struggle of dealing with Joyce’s parents. When they came to an after-school event and Jimmy said hi to her and her dad gave her hell for it and her mom worried herself sick for a bit. She got grounded and started avoiding him. He got angry and figured fine because Gloria from his History class had been eyeing him up lately and helping him with a pretty friendly smile so it didn’t even matter.
It wasn’t more than a week that had passed before he cornered her after school and convinced her to let him walk her home again.
They wandered downtown and he guided her behind a store building, the store she now works for if he remembers correctly, and asked about that night. Asked about what he said wrong. Asked about what he did wrong.
She shook her head, said it was just her parents being “crazy, I don’t know”. He couldn’t find it in him to worry that much. When they kissed, it was still with so many feelings attached. Hop can’t remember when those feelings faded.
It wasn’t until a couple years later when a rumor started going around about Joyce’s dad being a grade A asshole like Phil’s was all those years ago that made Jim take her aside very seriously and ask her if she was okay- those couple of years ago and that day. By that point she was with Lonnie and he was getting serious about Diane. He and Joyce hadn’t talked for over a year. Still, he was worried. She insisted that her dad just liked to huff and puff and yell enough to shake her ears, but he never touched her. It wasn’t until years and years later that Hop realized that really isn’t any better. Nowadays she insists she was and is fine and he’s just found it in himself to believe her.
When Hop finally got a car, they would sit in it and listen to the radio and talk music. She was the only person who’d sit with him and actually think about lyrics and feelings and words. She was always so headstrong about… well everything but especially human rights. She wanted equal rights for everyone. She fought so hard it made Jim tired. Maybe it started with her father but it truly never seemed to end. They used to sit and theorize about meanings behind words and the messages of songs.
”Tell your old man what we say about Paint It, Black. That’ll mess him up.”
Joyce hit him with a chuckle. That was the last time in high school they really laughed together. He can still remember her laugh back then- light and free from any weight these years have brought to it.
But now Jimmy is Hopper, and life isn’t the same. It doesn’t wander and linger and hide behind stores for extra kisses that feel electric. He knows life just doesn’t work that way anymore. He feels like life has only continued with all of the bad parts and none of the good.
In the slow guitar interlude of the song, he hears voices where they shouldn’t be- distant and slightly muffled and outside the window that’s opened a bit to let some air in.
“Yeah, he’s home. The cruiser is there.”
“Then I should go-”
“No, wait-”
It’s Billy and another voice Hop thinks he can recognize. Sounds like the same cocky, lilted tone of Steve Harrington. He knows they’ve been fighting for months now. They always seem to be fighting. Hop used to get called into the school because Billy was always shoving him around that one year. Since then there’s been whispers of them causing a ruckus all over the place but Hop never gets called to check it out. He doesn’t like to ask too much about it. He’s still trying to handle Billy gently and there’s so many more things to worry about. He doesn’t have the words to ask about that.
He doesn’t have the words to explain why they’d be here, together and clearly not at each other’s throats. Why bring a fight all the way back home?
“You uh… got anything planned this weekend?”
“Nope, nothing planned.”
A pause.
“There’s uh… a stupid dance or something-”
“Billy-”
“Look I just… we can’t go, obviously but maybe… we can do something on our own?”
There’s another pause. Longer this time. Hop used to be so sure and suddenly he’s realizing yet again maybe things are the same as they were when he was young- because yet again, he doesn’t know anything.
~Won’t you tell me what you’re thinking of~
“C’mon Harrington….” there’s the confirmation Hop didn’t need. “Say something at least. Don’t just stand there thinking.”
“Billy we can’t keep running around and hiding.”
“Why not?”
~Would you be an outlaw for my love?~
“What if people find out, that’s why not! What if my dad-”
“Tell your dad to fuck off.”
“And Hop?”
Hop’s heart stops. Everything comes crashing to a halt because suddenly he’s being made to face the very harsh fact that he’s not Jimmy anymore. He hasn’t been for a long while. He’s Chief Hopper and Chief Hopper belongs to the “other” part of these young kids’ minds. Billy’s and Steve’s and El’s and Mike’s. He’s the man they’re meant to rebel against. He’s the one that doesn’t “get it” like they do.
And apparently he’s the one that Steve is worried about.
He doesn’t blame him. He doesn’t even know what to think. He knows people like that exist. He thinks he used to go to school with a few guys who were… well, into other things. He never had much to say or even think about it. Joyce was friends with them. She went out to a protest or something once in their senior year. He saw her in a car with them while he was taking Diane to the movies.
It’s not the fact that they like each other or that they want to spend time together. That’s better than them beating the snot out of each other and getting his guys called on them. It’s the fact that they’re worried about him and the fact that they have every reason to be. Hop is part of “The Man” now, and people around here don’t exactly like differences.
“I’ll figure it out.” Billy says, but Hop almost misses it, it’s so quiet.
“Billy-”
“Are you gonna fight for this, or what? Or is this just a one time thing for you to find yourself or some bullshit?”
Hop hears Jimmy in Billy’s words
”Are you not gonna fight for me?”
“Fight for you?!” Joyce had yelled. Oh, how she yelled. ”Are you serious? I… I pick and choose my fights Jim, okay? I have to.”
“That’s not very fair to me.”
“Not fair? No shit it’s not fair, it’s not fair for me either! And you… you’re not being fair to me, y’know!”
And that was it. They went separate ways. It’s so vivid in Jim’s mind- the way she stormed away and Jim drove himself home. He doesn’t remember how long it took until Lonnie joined Joyce’s picture, but it felt too soon in Hop’s ever bitter mind. He couldn’t look at her for weeks. He shoved Lonnie in the hallway any chance he got. The kid would snarl and sneer at him, but he was as scrappy as a dog and scrawnier than a toothpick- no way did he ever pick a fight. He spat words and Jimmy lunged and that was that. Hop doesn’t remember when the feelings faded, but he knows he never stopped hating Lonnie’s stupid face.
Then he started to date Diane and things were just… over.
“Alright Steve, I see-”
“It’s not that easy for me, Billy.”
“And you think this shit is easy for me?”
Hop feels bad for sitting here, still listening, but he can’t get his muscles or limbs to move him. He feels stuck, somewhere between here and the past, picturing all the ways he’s still the same and yet so wildly different.
“Well it is different for you.”
“Just because my shit’s different doesn’t mean my shit’s better. Shit is still shit, Steve.”
All the times Hop thought he had it the worst anyone could ever possibly have it.
“You don’t know what it’s like.”
“Try me, Harrington! Just try me.”
All the times Hop thought maybe his friends were exaggerating about Phil’s past. Maybe Joyce was being dramatic about things at home. There was no way a kid could feel so threatened. Not a kid as big as Phil. Not a kid as headstrong as Joyce.
There’s a longer pause from the two outside the window. The voice that comes is quieter now.
“It’s scary Billy.”
“I know it is! I… fuck I know it is.”
Not a kid as big and headstrong as Billy. It took years for Hop to believe it could happen and still, with an example living in his own house, it’s still hard to understand.
“Don’t you think it could be worth it?” That’s Billy’s voice. Hop feels his heart sink even deeper. They’re talking like they’re going to die if they’re caught. How many more times can he tell this boy he’s safe here? What does he have to do to convince him? To convince them both?
“Maybe… I think so.”
“Look, I can’t make you do anything, Steve. But if you wanna try… then let me know, alright?”
Billy sounds so tired. Hop wants to tell him to lay down and take a nap. There’s such a long pause that follows and fills the space between them.
And then suddenly there’s something blocking the sun from the window. Jim gets the wherewithal to turn and see that the two boys have got their hands tangled in the front of each other’s shirts, just like they would if they were gearing for a fight, but instead of fists flying it’s their lips locked- worlds of frustration still heavy on their brows.
Jim wants to protect these kids until the day he dies. They’re here and they’re wandering too, but their walk home is covered in speed bumps and potholes and hell maybe even spikes that he and Joyce never knew. Whatever he can do to give these kids the time and place to wander like the kids they are, he’ll do it.
Then they separate, their breathing clearly labored and mingling. Then they turn and see Jim in the window, caught like two deer in big bright headlights.
A split second later, Steve is running for the hills and Billy is left with his fists grasping at the air. Hop can’t help but laugh.

Much to everyone’s dismay, Jungkook’s spring break in Vegas with the boys is cut three days short when Jimin’s dog sitter suddenly cancels, citing a case of homesickness as enough cause to abruptly go home. When you first hear news of this, you’re preparing yourself for the return of a mopey, useless Jungkook, too drained from four glorious days in Las Vegas to carry on. What you’re not expecting is the mysterious text he sends you before boarding a five hour flight with no service (he was cheap).
kook still on vegas lockdown. Have that pussy ready when i get home
“The fuck does that mean?” Chaeyoung is the first to see the message, your screen lighting up on the kitchen counter beside you as you scrub through a mountainous pile of dishes. You try to play it off, after all, Chaeyoung had seen parts of you you hadn’t even seen, but there was no worse embarrassment than having your homegirls see your clown of a boyfriend’s ridiculousness. “He’s so romantic,” she swoons, and you shoo her away from the offending device as you wipe your hands down on your t-shirt.
you for what?? One 20 second round 🤥
Chaeyoung suddenly cackles from over your shoulder, and you swear your soul leaves your body.
You don’t get a response until exactly five hours and thirteen minutes later, your phone vibrating like crazy on the edge of your bathtub, and if you hadn’t given it a hearty kick and sent it flying across the room, front screen shattering into the most intricate spider web of glass shards, it would have fallen into the water. The terror.
kook pls pick me up
kook also haha. U r soooo funny 😑
You’re halfway to the airport, idly sitting in traffic and giving the public a free, Beyonce-like experience of The Script’s Breakeven, when you realize you’re not wearing any pants. You’re not exactly sure which part of Jungkook’s long t-shirt had tricked you into believing you were decently dressed, but you’re not too mad. After all, Jungkook’s trip with the boys had been a last minute decision that did not take into consideration your never-ending thirst for your boyfriend, so a little payback never hurt anybody.
He’s sitting on top of his suitcase outside the airport when you get there, cute Birkenstock-clad feet swinging back and forth as he waits for you like the good boy he is. He crouches down by the passenger window, “Uh, yeah, is this the Uber?”
You can’t even bother hiding the smile that consumes your face, and it only grows tenfold when he finally gets in and immediately leans over the center console to kiss you. “Look who’s finally back from their little bachelor party,” you murmur, eyes lidded dangerously low when he breaks away.
“Oh, the party where I accidentally sleep away my life-savings to a stripper named Aries and then have to go home and beg for my wife’s forgiveness?” He responds immediately, devious pink tongue swiping out to lick at your bottom lip.
You snort. “Joke’s on you, because our hot pool boy kept me company and treated me better in four days than my husband had in six years,” you mumble, finger looping into the silver chain around his neck to pull him close again.
“Not our hot pool boy,” he whines, smile pressed adorably to your lips.
You almost retort, but a ten-second horn blast from the car behind you has the two of you jumping three feet from each other, like teenagers caught making out in the school parking lot.
-
Just as you’d predicted via text, Jungkook barely has the energy to walk up the steps to your apartment, much less fuck you like he’d promised. “Fuck, stop being healthy and let us take the elevator,” he grunts, pushing his suitcase onto the final platform leading to your floor.
“Nope,” you concede. “The stairs give me a good view of your ass going up.”
He shoots you a scandalized look, like you’re an old man who’d just catcalled him on the street. “Pretty sure that’s my line.”
It’s when you’re unlocking the front door, sending out a little prayer to the heavens (Chaeyoung) for the blessing of an empty apartment, that he notices your lack of proper clothing. “Oh, hell no,” he groans, immediately crowding you against the armchair nearest the door.
You laugh, struggling to turn to face him as he nuzzles his face into your neck. “What seems to be the problem?”
He sighs against the shell of your ear, and you’d be a liar to say it didn’t send a gush of wetness to your core. Jesus, just a single puff of air from Jungkook was enough to turn your coochie into a Fruit Gusher. “Not your sexy legs again,” he whines, and you giggle when he presses those pouty lips to yours.
“Thought I was supposed to have this pussy ready for you,” you tease, tilting your head up until your noses brush against each other. Jungkook lets a soft huff of a sigh go, eyes fluttering shut at your close proximity.
There’s a hand that creeps along the back of your thigh, fingers pressing into the soft skin until he finally guides it upwards, hitched over his hip. The new position has your body curving backwards, tilted over the edge of the couch as he continues crowding closer and closer to you. “Baby,” he whines, and the tone and sudden usage of your favorite nickname wipes the teasing smile off your face. “I missed you so much,” he purrs, in that tone that says he knows he has you under his complete control, all he has to do is take care of you.
Still, you try to put up some sort of a fight. “I’m sure your eyes were kept entertained in Vegas,” you retort weakly, not even bothering to hide the jealousy in your tone.
Jungkook laughs, before puckering his lips and smothering you. Instantly, you throw your arms around his broad shoulders to pull him closer. His hair tickles your face from how long it’s gotten, and when you brush it back, collecting it into a makeshift baby ponytail, you can’t even enjoy the sight because Jungkook is pressing his rock hard member against your inner thigh.
“You think I’m a cheater?” He muses when he finally pulls away, a little entranced by the saliva that coats your lips in a thin sheen. “Couldn’t be even if I wanted to.” Before you can ask what that even means, he’s hauling you into his arms, your legs wrapping around his tiny waist, his cock now cradled between your thighs, right where you want him most. You moan immediately, head lolling backwards at the touch you’d craved for days. “Feel that? No one gets my dick hard like you do, baby.”
Even though his adrenaline is on one hundred, and he’s clearly blinded by his lust, Jungkook still sets you down on the bed like you’re made of glass. Any comments you may have made are smothered by his lips on yours, fingers gripping your waist like it’s the first time he’s ever touched you. When he pulls away, his eyes are dark and his breath is a little heavy where it fans against the lower half of your face.
“So pretty,” he huffs, rolling his hips against yours. You groan, eyes rolling back as the familiar feeling of your boyfriend between your legs consumes you. Jungkook presses his mouth against the skin of your neck, where the faintest sheen of sweat had begun to form the moment you unlocked the front door.
If you thought you were loud, the sounds leaving Jungkook’s throat are teetering on the edge between a pornstar and a yodelling-enthusiast. You can’t help the smirk crossing your features. “Are you really gonna come?”
Jungkook was many things, and drama queen was definitely very high on that list. He gives you the most scandalized expression, stopping the movement of his hips to scoff. “As if,” he snorts, but you know that little eyebrow furrow a little too well.
You snort, reaching down to his sides as you try to discreetly urge him to start up again. “Baby, your jaw is twitching,” you point out, a soft whine leaving your lips when he shifts your leg up. It’s this same sound that has him finally moving again.
“Yeah, well,” he groans, one hand deathly gripping into your hip now, pressing you down onto the bed so hard you feel the comforter will swallow you up any minute now. “I just got my wisdom teeth removed, ‘member?”
Your retort is briefly cut off by the cry you let out when he ducks down to suck a mark beneath your jaw. “M-Months ago,” you weakly respond,
Jungkook ignores you in favor of using his Hulk strength to fold you in half, groans borderline animalistic as he grinds his cock into your soaked panties. His jaw is tight like you’d said, but you can tell he’s holding himself back. He hated coming before you, seldom doing it unless it was one of those rare days where he wanted you to pamper him.
“Fuck,” he grunts, swallowing your pitiful whines before pushing his tongue down your throat. There was something sexy about your boyfriend being so turned on that his saliva production was off the charts. “You’re gonna ask me to do that thing again, aren’t you?” He predicts.
All you can do is nod, and Jungkook smirks. “Ah,” he says, much like a doctor would, and you comply, mouth wide. You see the muscles beneath his jaw twitch, and a moment later he’s leaning over you with puckered lips, a glob of saliva begging to drip down.
The moan that catches in your throat has him smiling, tongue peeking out to cut the bridge of saliva that connected the two of you, and you want to tell him you love him, but then he’s raising his eyebrows at you, motioning for you to swallow, so you do. “Absolutely filthy,” he grins, and then returns to thrusting against you.
As much as you liked to tease him, he’s good at fulfilling the sexual aspects of his boyfriend role, and he guides you to your orgasm moments later. Of course, he does so by toying with your tits just the way you like, lips pressed firmly to yours as you become a boneless heap beneath him. “That’s it, pretty baby,” he murmurs, pressing one final kiss to your lips before he’s shifting back onto his haunches, tugging you closer until the backs of your knees are cradled carefully in his elbows.
Despite your transcended state, you love watching Jungkook get himself off, and your eyes flutter as you watch him thrust sloppily against your soiled panties. They’re soaked by your own arousal, and had Jungkook’s sweats not been as dark as they were, you’re almost certain you’d see how they stained.
He comes a moment later, body twitching and fingers tightening against your skin. His chest heaves, head lolling back as he tries to regain his senses. Silence envelopes the room.
“Do you wanna talk about it?” You blurt, no longer able to pretend like something isn’t completely wrong.
Jungkook rolls his neck out, a satisfying crack resounding, as he angles to look at you again. His tongue is poking against his cheek in that cocky way it does sometimes, and he furrows his brows at you. “What?”
You shuffle up onto your elbows, motioning towards him with the vaguest wave possible. He blinks. You groan.
“What did you do?” You question, and immediately his eyes go wide and shiny in that way they do when you’re reprimanding him and he doesn’t see the wrong in his ways.
Cute little lips forming a pout he remains as confused. “Nothing? We really just went to fuck around and get drunk—“
“Kook.”
“You don’t actually think I cheated, I thought we were just joking? Unless…” he trails off, doe eyes suddenly filled with fear. “You weren’t?”
“Jungkook—“
He intercepts you, “did you do something while I was gone? Who was he? Or she? Wow,” he huffs to himself in disbelief. “I don’t even know you well enough to know if you’re into more than just men.” The frown on his face is getting deeper with each word he utters and you almost can’t believe how dumb he could be. “No wonder… am I a terrible boyfriend?” He asks, voice louder and more concerned than it’s been all night.
“What the fuck are you even talking about?” You say, and Jungkook looks just as lost by your response as you are with his. “Because I’m talking about whatever this is,” you explain, reaching up to drag a hand through his dual-colored locks.
They’d been carefully tucked under his bucket hat when you’d picked him up, a tuft of blonde peeking out from in front of his ear. It wasn’t until he’d tipped you over the side of the couch that it had tumbled off. Of course, at the time, there had been other pressing matters at hand than wondering why your Hannah Montana blonde boyfriend had returned as Todoroki, which is why you’d waited until now to revisit the topic.
Jungkook doesn’t move for a solid ten seconds. Then, as if processing the emotional episode he’d just given you, he gives you a sheepish smile. It’s one of those smiles where his lips press together thinly and cutely and the apples of his cheeks seem like the squishiest things in the world. “Oh…” he says, voice soft and nothing like the man that spit in your mouth five minutes ago. “You like it?”

series masterlist
It had been a week since the Boneyard kegger and you couldn’t get Rafe out of your head. You hadn’t seen him since that night, at least not in real life. Your dreams, however, were plagued with him. The way his hands had gripped your hips, his lips on your lips, your neck, imagining how they would feel on other parts of your body.
Part of you had been tempted to drive down to Figure 8 and “run into him” somewhere. One morning, after an especially steamy dream, you almost asked Sarah for his number. But then you thought of the questions that would come with that request and decided against it. You felt pathetic, pining after a guy you’d spent a couple hours with. A guy who, by all accounts was an asshole and hated people like you. Why would he want a Pogue like you?
Still, you wanted to see him. At least once. Just look in his eyes and see if that same spark was there. You had even tagged along with JJ during the day more often than usual, hoping Rafe and his Kook friends would appear to antagonize one of your best friends. But he was nowhere to be seen. As the week came to a close, you resigned yourself to experiencing his touch in your dreams only.
You were laying in the hammock at the Chateau listening to music with Kie, who laid beside you lazily braiding your hair, when Sarah suddenly appeared. She practically jumped onto you and Kie’s laps, a grin on her face.
“Let’s have a girls night!” She proclaimed, “Ward and Rose are taking Wheezie and her friend on a mini vacation on the mainland, so I have Tannyhill all to myself!”
“What about Rafe?” You asked, trying to fill your voice with disdain rather than hope. Sarah scoffed and rolled her eyes.
“Don’t worry about him, I’ll make sure he doesn’t bother us. So?”
You and Kie looked at each other. Kie raised her eyebrows, a smirk on her face. You smiled back and nodded. Both of you looked back at Sarah.
“We’re in!” Kie said.
“Yay!” Sarah pulled both of you into a hug, already unleashing all of her plans for the night. After telling you to be there at 6, she left to prepare for the night.
“It’s been so long since we’ve had a night just us girls. I mean, I love the boys, but I could use a break from them,” Kie said, finishing the braid in your hair.
“Yeah, fuck the boys,” You giggled, though in your head, you were much more focused on one particular boy than the girls night ahead of you.
Kie drove you to Sarah’s house, arriving at 6:30. Kie complained about how long it took you to get ready for a sleep over. You just laughed and told her you needed to look good for your girls. If she had know the truth, her head might have exploded. You had worn your cutest pair of pajamas, a large shirt with short shorts that left little to the imagination. You’d even done your make up. Not much, keeping it natural. After all, it was a sleep over, you didn’t need to go all out.
You were disappointed when you didn’t see Rafe as you walked in, but assumed Sarah had probably threatened him with violence if he came anywhere near her friends. You tried not to let thoughts of Rafe distract you, actually wanting to enjoy the night with your best girl friends. Sarah had stolen a couple bottles of wine from her dad’s wine cellar, passing around wine glasses before heading up to her room.
The three of you quickly became tipsy on the wine, giggling at little things. You all were laying on Sarah’s large bed, giggling at Sarah’s sexual mishap with John B in the Twinkie.
“I thought my nipple was going to come off! Like I’m sorry, I know it probably hurt when I kneed your dick, but who bites a nipple that hard? So, moral of the story, never have sex in the back of the van.”
You and Kie burst into laughter, while Sarah contained her giggles, trying her best to look annoyed.
“What about you two? Any sexy stories to share? Y/N, what about that Touron from the kegger?”
Your laughter quickly faded as Rafe was brought to the forefront of your mind. You bit your lip, trying to hide a smile.
“Nothing happened, I haven’t seen him since that night.”
“Well, you need to track him down!” Kie exclaimed, sitting up on her elbow to look down at you. You just shrugged, not meeting your friend’s eyes.
“Y/N, you should have seen the look on your face when we were leaving. You had literal stars in your eyes.”
You shrugged and downed the rest of you wine, sitting up on the bed.
“I don’t know. If I run into him again, we’ll see what happens. I’m gonna go get some water.”
Sarah started asking Kie about the girl she had been talking to as you padded out of the room and down the stairs.
You made your way to the kitchen, where a happy surprise waited for you. Rafe stood cooking something at the stove. He was shirtless, wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants. His back was facing you, giving you a moment to take in his form. Your eyes wandered his body, tracing his biceps and the curve on his shoulder blade.
“Hi, Rafe,” You finally said, just loud enough for him to hear. He turned suddenly, surprised expression quickly turning to a smirk. You looked into his green eyes and felt your heart jump when you saw it. That spark you’d been hoping for for the past week.
“Hey,” he replied. You slowly made your way to the cupboard, making sure to brush up against him as you passed.
“How’ve you been?” He asked. You shrugged, filling up your glass at the fridge.
“I’ve been better. I’ve been a little lonely, especially at night, you know? My mind starts to wander to certain places,” You moved back over to Rafe. Your chests were almost touching as he smirked down at you. His breath fanned across your cheek, sending a shiver down your spine.
“Maybe you need a little company,” He whispered, his low tone going straight to your core. You smiled at him innocently, moving so your lips were inches apart.
“Yeah I do.”
You noticed him start to lean in and quickly pulled away, skipping towards the stairs.
“That’s why I’m having girls night,” You called, keeping the innocent look on you face. His light eyes had grown dark, watching as you moved away. They followed the curve of you ass, very evident in the shorts you were wearing. You inwardly smirked at the effect you had and started up the stairs.
“Your grilled cheese is burning, by the way,” You called. You giggled at the quiet shit he let out and made your way back to Sarah’s room.
You, Kie, and Sarah spent the next several hours having as much fun as you could. After a few dance parties, a couple rounds of truth or dare, and intense argument about whether Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus was better that almost turned violent, you all collapsed on to the bed, turning on a random movie. Sarah and Kie fell asleep quickly, but you were wide awake, replaying the moment with Rafe in the kitchen.
You rubbed your thighs together, wanting nothing more than for Rafe to touch you. With a groan, you hopped out the bed and quietly escaped Sarah’s room. You had been to Sarah’s house several times before, but your knowledge of the layout was reduced to the path from the kitchen to Sarah’s room. You tiptoed down the hallway, trying to figure out which room was his. You a few doors down from Sarah’s, you could see a faint light from beneath the door frame. You knocked a couple times, then stood, waiting. It didn’t take long for Rafe to open the door. He was still shirtless, but had removed his sweatpants, leaving him in just his boxers. He smirked down at you, a hand coming up to cup the back of your head.
“You fucking tease,” He said before crashing his lips onto yours. You were almost knocked off your feet by the force of it. You placed your hands on his chest to stabilize yourself. His other arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you flush against his chest. Without breaking the kiss, he moved you into his room, kicking the door closed behind him. His hand moved down to your ass, gripping hard as he lightly slammed you against the wall. He broke the kiss, brushing your hair out of your face as his eyes examined your flustered face. The same hand slowly moved down your cheek until it was gripping your jaw, forcing you to look at him.
“Fuck, you’re beautiful. Do you have any idea what you do to me? I haven’t stopped thinking about you all week, how I wanted to fuck you while you screamed my name.”
You let out a whimper at his words, breathing uneven. You could feel your panties become more and more soaked as his hand moved from your ass to your hip, playing with the waist band of your shorts.
“Then you come into my kitchen wearing this, getting me all worked up.” He laughed humorlessly, his hand diving below your waistband. His fingers ghosted across the soaked fabric that covered your center.
“Got yourself all worked up too, didn’t you?”
Your panties were pushed to the side, giving him space to run his fingers through your folds. You let out a moan as you nodded. His finger came up to his lips, sucking your wetness from them.
“Don’t worry, baby, I’ll take care of you,” He said before going on his knees in front of you. His breath fanned against your inner thighs as he slowly slid your shorts down your thighs. When they landed on the floor, you stepped out of them and kicked them across the floor. Rafe placed gentle kisses across your thighs and stomach, avoiding the spot you needed him most. You whimpered as his mouth hovered over your clothed clit.
“What do you want, baby?” Rafe said.
“Touch me, Rafe, please, I need you!” You moaned out. He was quick to respond, fingers deftly moving your underwear aside, giving him space to wrap his lips around your sensitive bundle, lightly sucking. You moaned so loudly it was almost a scream. Rafe gave a hard slap to your ass in response, looking up at you.
“Uh uh, not too loud, angel. Don’t want your friends to hear, do you?”
You shook your head quickly, hand reaching down to push him closer to your pussy. He chuckled before compiling, licking a strip up your center, thumb moving to rub circles against your clit. Your head fell back against the wall as he continued his movements. His tongue delved into you, flicking in and out. One of his arms wrapped around your thigh, holding you up while spreading you wider. You were already a mess of pleasure when he slowly pushed two fingers into you, tongue moving up to you clit. You bit your lip to surpress your moans, but it was difficult as his fingers started to move faster. It became too much and a single, long moan escaped your mouth. Rafe’s movements ceased. He removed his fingers from you and stood up, hand gripping your hair, pulling it to where there was more pleasure than pain,
“What the fuck did I say?” He asked. Your tried to rub your thighs together, trying to regain the friction you had lost, but he moved his leg between your own.
“I’m sorry, Rafe. Please, I’ll be quiet, I promise,” You whimpered.
He smirked at you.
“Yes you will.”
He kissed you again, tongue dominating your own as he explored your mouth. He dragged you to the bed, throwing you down on your back before returning to his knees, pulling you to the edge of the mattress. He nearly ripped your panties off, mouth diving back to taste your dripping center. His hand reached up, clasping over your mouth, while the other returned to your entrance, fingers fucking you roughly. It didn’t take long before you felt the coil in your stomach tighten. Your screams were muffled behind Rafe’s hand as he continued to lick and suck on your clit, fingers pounding into you. Your fingers tangled in his hair as you came on his fingers. You felt him smirk as you clenched around him, but his movement didn’t let up. He moved his hand up under your shirt to massage your breast while his tongue moved down to fuck your entrance. He went back an forth between your entrance and you clit, hand moving between both your breasts to roughly massage them. Your second orgasm came fast and hard, leaving you with stars behind your eyes as he lapped up your juices.
He moved up your body, biting and sucking across your torso, leaving bright red and purple marks like constellations. He reached your face and removed his hand, kissing you hard and allowing you to taste yourself on his tongue. He broke away, pulling your shirt over head and throwing it to the side before standing up, pulling his boxers off. You bit your lip as you stared at his cock, wanting nothing more than to wrap your lips around it. He stroked himself a few times, taking in your fuck out look and the hungry look in your eyes.
“Don’t worry, baby, you’ll get to taste my cock later. Right now, I want to feel you.”
He reached into his bedside table and pulled out a condom. He ripped it open and rolled it over his dick, stroking it a few for times. He stood over you, eyes once again raking over your body.
“God, look at you. You’re gonna take me so good.” He leaned over you, hand coming up to grip your throat. A moan started to escape your lips at the pressure, but he caught it with a kiss. He pushed himself into you as he kissed you, giving you little time to adjust to his size before he started pounding into you. He broke the kiss, holding himself up on his forearm as he thrusted into you. His hand tightened around your throat, muffling your loud moans slightly, leaving the only other sound in the room to be the slapping of skin and the dirty words Rafe whispered in your ear.
“Fuck, you’re so tight.”
“I’ve been wanting to fuck you like this for days.”
“Feel so much better than in my dreams, baby.”
“Taking that cock so well.”
After several minutes, his hand moved from your throat down to you clit, rubbing fast circles into it. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head as his thrusts became harder, hitting that spot inside of you. You were so close. His thrusts were becoming sloppy, you could tell he was close too. He leaned down again, fingers still working your clit, and whispered, “Cum all over my dick, angel.”
You did as you were told, coming with a scream of his name, for a moment not caring if Kie and Sarah heard. Rafe wasn’t far behind you. He suddenly pulled out, making you whimper at the sudden emptiness. He removed the condom from himself and gave a few short stroked before coming across your chest and stomach.
“Fuck,” He whispered, more to himself than you. You heard him walk to the joining bathroom, but didn’t pay much attention. Your eyes were shut tight, trying to catch you breath and come to terms with what just happened. You just fucked Rafe Cameron. Hard. And, if you’re being honest with yourself, it was the best sex you’ve ever had.
Rafe returned with a wet towel, cleaning his cum off of you before collapsing beside you. He pulled back the covers and pulled you into his side under them. You rested your head on his chest, listening to his heart beat in his chest. His hand gently played with your hair, a stark contrast to his actions before.
You laid their in silence, neither of you knowing what to say. Eventually, you heard Rafe’s breath even out, quiet snores vibrating through his chest that you found adorable. You untangled yourself from his arm, slipping off the bed to gather your clothes and redress. Sneaking back to Sarah’s room, you hoped neither of the girls had noticed your absence, or heard you screaming Rafe’s name a few rooms down.
The next morning, Rafe woke feeling cold. He turned over to where you had been lying, the nights events running through his head and he hoped that it wasn’t just a dream. But he smiled when he noticed a yellow sticky note on the pillow beside him with a series of numbers and a note in your unique handwriting.

By Your Side
Hello i wanted these two to smooch bc i think theyre very cute alsdjaldjasl
Arthur Morgan/Kieran Duffy Rating: T | No Warnings Word Count: ~2100
It was weeks before Arthur was on his feet again. Abigail said the wound in his shoulder must have gotten infected, that his body was overworked enough as it was. She threatened to tie him to the bed.
He was never alone for too long. The girls took shifts, sitting with him, reading to him, feeding him. Lenny, Hosea, even John. They were all there for him.
Marston, damn him. Sat there for hours, arms crossed and brows pinched. Hardly said a word, just groused and grumbled and looked at Arthur like he couldn't decide if he wanted to hit him or kiss him.
Arthur had felt the same way after John nearly got eaten by wolves. The bonds of brotherhood or something like that, he figured.
And then there was Kieran. Duffy boy. Not an O'Driscoll. Skittish and quiet, only ever coming around when no one else was nearby.
Even though Arthur was laid up with a bum shoulder and battered ribs, Kieran was afraid of him. Always looked ready to bolt at a moment's notice.
But he kept coming around. There was something pushing him to fight that meekness.
Arthur finally found out late one night. It was dark, and all he could see of the boy was the silhouette of his unkempt hair. But he was there.
"I know how Colm can be," Kieran said. Quiet. Apologetic. "No one deserves that. Especially not you."
Arthur was quiet for a moment. So that was it.
 "You don't deserve it either."
Kieran's breath hitched, like no one ever told him that before. Arthur's heart ached. He had been cruel to the boy, and he regretted it.
"You hear me, boy?" Arthur asked. "You're too good for this. You deserve better."
Kieran sniffled and was gone in an instant.
He didn't stop coming around. Continued to spend his nights sitting quietly near Arthur. It was nice, not being alone.
 "Duffy," Arthur hissed one night.
 "Yea?"
"How's my horse? I want to see her."
"She's just fine Mr. Morgan. I've been spoiling her these past few weeks for you."
Arthur huffed. At least the beast was in good hands. Arthur preferred the company of his horse to most everyone, and he hated being away from her for so long. But he trusted that Kieran was taking good care of her.
"How far can you walk?" Kieran asked.
"I dunno, Abigail never lets me get very far." Arthur had been confined to a very small radius the past several weeks. Every time he tried to sneak away from his bed, someone caught him and turned him back around.
"Well," Kieran said slowly. "She's asleep right now. Grimshaw too."
Arthur was already pushing himself up, groaning in pain. Kieran was at his side in an instant. "Here, Mr. Morgan. Lean on me."
Arthur was heavier than Kieran anticipated, even after his infection had weakened him. Still, the two of them stumbled and staggered towards the horses. It was slow going, but Arthur was determined.
The horse looked fine -- cleaner than ever before. Kieran must have brushed her every single day. As soon as she saw Arthur, she stomped her hooves and tossed her head.
"Hey there, Old Girl," Arthur reached for her with his good arm. "I've missed you."
Kieran huffed and wheezed as he shouldered Arthur's weight, but it was worth it to see the way his eyes crinkled. Arthur looked happier than he had in a long time. They made their way back to Arthur's bunk, laughing as Kieran nearly toppled them both.
 -
Abigail gave him hell for walking, but Arthur didn’t mind too much. He shot a wink at Kieran while she ranted and raved about “rest” and “saving his energy.”
And damn if Kieran didn’t blush bright red, nearly tripping over himself. It made Arthur’s heart swell.
 -
Teasing Kieran was far too satisfying. The poor boy wore his heart on his sleeve. Arthur constantly ribbed him.
“You’re too young to be drinking that, boy.” Arthur snatched a bottle of shine from his hand. Was Abigail going to chew him out for getting drunk? Probably. Was it worth it to see the way Kieran’s eyes widened as Arthur licked a stray drop from the lip of the bottle? Definitely.
 -
Finally, finally finally -- Arthur was strong enough to get back to work.
There was no chance of him going out. He could hardly walk the length of camp without needing to sit down for a while, but he itched to work, to be useful. The girls enjoyed the company, teasing Arthur for his shoddy sewing skills and unevenly cut vegetables. As long as he didn’t have to spend another minute trapped in that damn bed he would take as much criticism as Susan could dish out.
His strength came back, and he could carry crates and bags of feed and bales of hay. So he took to working with the horses alongside Duffy boy. He was easy company, and even easier to tease. They were both quiet, good with the horses, content to spend long afternoons sitting in the sun, Arthur sketching quietly in his journal and Kieran sprawled out in the grass letting his mind wander. Arthur often wondered what went through the boy’s head. He was too sweet for his own good, foolish. Not terribly bright but certainly filled with plenty of ideas under his ratty old hat.
“You’re awful kind for a killer, Mr. Morgan,” he remarked one day out of the blue.
Arthur bit back the first words that flew to his tongue, an empty threat that would send the boy running with his tail between his legs. Instead he chewed his lip for a moment, considering.
“I don’t just kill anybody. I tend to try to leave more alive than I do dead -- when I get the chance that is.” Arthur shrugged.
“Like me?” The boy was looking at him with those wide, pleading eyes. Arthur could never quite figure out if the kid wanted something from him or if he just looked like that.
Again, he had to hold himself back. He no longer took pleasure in scaring the boy shitless, and he had to fight the reflex in him that always wanted to growl and threaten. It was okay to let his guard down. As much as he hated to say it, he trusted the boy.
“Yeah, like you,” Arthur shook his head. “Who else would humor me like this? Certainly not Bill.”
“You think I’m funny?” Kieran’s head cocked to the side. He looked puzzled.
 “Yeah,” Arthur said flatly. “Hilarious.
The boy pouted. Arthur had to admit it was effective. “You’re teasing me again,” he whined.
“You make it too easy.” Arthur reached out and ruffled his hair. Kieran practically melted under the touch. He flushed bright pink, a dopey grin spreading across his face before he ducked away, skittering off like he always did.
 -
The boy cowered and ran under any kind of attention, so Arthur had to hide his staring. He didn’t care who else saw him as long as Kieran didn’t know he was being watched.
He liked watching Kieran. He was sweet and eager and gentle. From what little he had gathered of Kieran’s past, he had every excuse to be just as bitter and angry as the rest of them. Arthur was a selfish fool, he knew, but he wanted as much of that sweetness as he could get.
“What’s with you and the O’Driscoll?” Marston asked, sitting down directly in Arthur’s line of vision and effectively blocking his view of Kieran and Mary-Beth sitting together with a book
“He’s not an O’Driscoll,” Arthur grumbled.
John’s grin turned sly. “You’re too easy to read, Morgan.”
Arthur took another drink from his beer. Since he couldn’t watch Kieran, he enjoyed the way the afternoon sun played off of the surface of the water. “I will drown you in the lake,” he said coolly.
“Then you’d have to deal with Abigail bein’ sore with you. I’m pretty sure she wants the privilege of drowning me.” John looked far too pleased with himself. He thought he was so damn clever.
 “We’ll do it together then.”
Marston let out a loud, raspy laugh, banging the table with his fist. Arthur almost wished he would go back to sulking and whining about his scratches.
“I’ll leave you to your staring then,” John shook his head, still chuckling, and wandered off.
 -
Arthur felt like he was stumbling. Unsure of himself and out of his depth. There were many things he could do: kill, rob, steal, ride, shoot. He did not know how to be sweet. But he wanted to. He wanted to show Kieran the same kindness and consideration that he had shown Arthur. He wanted to make up for how cruel he had been to the boy.
When was finally feeling well enough to ride into town, he stopped by the general store to refill his satchel with supplies. The barrels of taffy would normally have never caught his eye, but he remembered how excited Kieran had been when Mary-Beth broke off a piece of her chocolate for him. Kieran liked sweet.
 Arthur bought two bags.
Jack was thrilled to get a bag of candy. Abigail thanked Arthur for his thoughtfulness and eyed the second bag with a gleaming curiosity. It felt like everyone in camp was conspiring against him.
Kieran smiled so brightly when he noticed Arthur heading his way. He hadn’t even given him the damn candies and he was already beaming. Arthur did his best not to fumble his words.
“Finally managed to get to the store, and I picked these up for you. I noticed you liked sweets and I was already getting some for the boy-” Arthur cut himself off with a shrug, awkwardly holding out the bag of candies.
They were both blushing fools. Kieran took the bag, holding it delicately as if it were the most valuable thing in the world. “I can’t wait to share them with you, Mr. Morgan.”
And Arthur knew he was done for.
 -
Kieran was filthy. Covered in mud and dust, hair unkempt and unwashed. It had stormed recently, and everyone was covered in dirt to some degree. Somehow Kieran had attracted the worst of it.
Arthur frowned at the boy. One of the mares hadn’t taken too well to the weather, and Kieran hadn’t left the horse’s side since. He was breaking of small pieces of oatcake and waiting patiently for the horse to eat. He lit up with a smile every time, and Arthur wanted to kiss him so badly.
But the boy was covered in mud.
Arthur waited until the horse had finished eating before striding over and hauling Kieran up by the scruff. “Come on, Duffy. We’ve got to get you clean.”
Kieran was taken by surprise, tripping over his own feet as Arthur dragged him along. “It’s no trouble Mr. Morgan. I’d just wind up dirty again tomorrow anyways. The ground’s not dry yet.”
“Then we can wash you again tomorrow,” Arthur said. He led them through the trees towards a nice stretch of creek, running water, about waist deep. It was a nice spot to bathe when he couldn’t make it back into town.
“Strip,” Arthur was already tugging his own boots off, digging a bar of soap out of his satchel. Kieran only hesitated a moment before shrugging out of his clothes. Those would need to be washed too, but Arthur was too busy dragging the boy into the water with him to care.
Kieran didn’t protest as Arthur lathered up the soap and began scrubbing mud and dirt off the both of them. He had always craved Arthur’s touch, and the scrape of the callouses of his palm against bare skin was almost more than he could handle.
He hadn’t expected Arthur to dig his fingers into Kieran’s side, causing him to yelp and jump away. Arthur was grinning, looking far too pleased with himself. Kieran smiled back and splashed half-heartedly at Arthur.
They wrestled in the creek. Arthur easily overpowered Kieran, dunking him under the water a few times and tackling him into the silt. Kieran howled with laughter and clung to Arthur for dear life.
And then Arthur kissed him. Already breathless and panting, he dragged Kieran in and pressed their lips together. It was clumsy and awkward for a few moments as Kieran froze in shock, but he kissed back eagerly once he found himself again.
Arthur pulled away with a contented sigh, shaking water out of his hair and chuckling to himself. “Been wanting to do that, but you’ve been sleeping in the damn mud for three days now.”
Kieran turned pink and then red, clearly overwhelmed. Arthur pulled back a little to give him some space.
“What if-” Kieran started and then lost his courage. It took him a few tries to get through his words. “What if I slept by you instead?”
 Arthur wanted nothing more.

(click on the title for the fic)
you know you're on my mind
bibliosexual
Summary:
If there’s one thing Derek’s learned in life, it’s that crushing on someone who lives on an entire other fucking continent is probably a bad idea.
(hs!au + texting!au + childhood friends to lovers the ULTIMATE fluff fic)
i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)   (series)
yodasyoyo
Summary:
Stiles is six years old when he first hears Derek's voice in his head.
Or what happens if you have a soulmate bond, in a universe where soulmate bonds don't exist?
Up Down Lock Unlock
isthatbloodonhisshirt (wasterella)
Summary:
“Why are you going into grandma Ito’s apartment?” he asked.
Derek turned to him, key sliding into the lock. “What do you mean?” He tried to turn it, but the key wasn’t budging. Maybe the lock was sticking again, it’d been doing that the past few days.
Stiles was staring at him like Derek was stupid.
Derek did not appreciate sass from a ten year old.
“That’s grandma Ito’s place.”
“No,” Derek said calmly, pulling the key out and then shoving it back in, wiggling it a little when it continued to refuse to unlock the door. “This is my place.”
“I think you’re on the wrong floor then, because that apartment belongs to grandma Ito.”
(time travel counts as childhood friends right?)
the difference between going back and going home
thepsychicclam
Summary:
Stiles and Derek were inseparable growing up, but then college, jobs, and life happened. When Stiles comes back to Beacon Hills a decade later, he doesn't expect to reconnect with Derek, and he sure doesn't expect to fall in love with him.
It's Such a Gas When You Bring Up the Past
orphan_account
Summary:
Stiles finds a box of old photo albums that dredge up the sweet, the funny, the adorable, and the mildly heartwrenching parts of his and Derek's past.
(mainly a friends fic but its too cute to not include)
It's Always Been You
charlesdk
Summary:
Stiles' love life was practically non-existing, always had been. He was always terrible at picking up clues when people hit on him (it had happened, Erica had been witness to it and had been the one to let him know it was happening in the first place) because he never expected anyone to do so.
He wasn't the most desirable guy around, he knew that. He was loud, extremely nerdy, never knew when to stop talking, not exactly much of a looker if you asked him, the list was endless.
Point was, he never did know when someone was flirting with him. Which was probably how he ended up in the fight that would change his life for the better.
Lead You Home Again
GotTheSilver
Summary:
The first time Derek meets Stiles, the kid’s brown eyes are wide, and he’s staring up at him with a mischievous grin as he tugs at the arm of Derek’s first ever Batman figure like he’s trying to separate it from Batman’s body.
An alternate take on Teen Wolf, wherein Stiles and Derek are childhood friends, and things unfold from there.
Kingdom By The Sea
kilaem
Summary:
Lydia grabs his arm and pulls him down in the seat next to her. “When the hell did you find time to bag a guy like Hale?”
“We’re friends,” Stiles feels his face heat up, and then the team are running out and Derek sees him and smiles. His blush gets worse.
“Oh really?”
“Our moms were friends, okay? We’ve been in diapers together.”
“I thought you two hated each other.”
Those That Bump In The Night
bleep0bleep
Summary:
A boy’s head appears upside down, hanging off the bed. “Is anyone there?” he calls out curiously, looking right at Derek’s eyes. Caught, then. The protocol for being deliberately seen by a child is just to look as strange and fearsome as possible. No one would believe them, anyways. But Derek is tired, and he’s been running and scared, and now he just kind of flickers, curling out a tendril of dark smoke, hoping that he’s a little bit scary. No such luck. The boy’s eyes widen. “Oooh, are you the bogeyman?” “Bogeyperson,” Derek says, before he can help himself.
~
When Stiles was a boy, he had an imaginary friend named Derek. Ten years later, Derek comes back, and is very, very real.
Five Times Derek and Stiles Kissed For Practice (And One Time They Didn't)
mikkimouse
Summary:
In which Derek and Stiles grow up together and practice kissing, roughly in that order.
216 + 1: Words To Say Instead of I Love You
briggs
Summary:
Derek and Stiles have been best friends for fourteen years. They have their differences, sure, but it's never been a question for them. Their friendship has been the most solid thing in their lives -- until suddenly it isn't anymore.
Funny how just a few choice words can throw fourteen years of friendship off-balance.
OR
a collection of "Bro, That's Gay" one-shots that actually ended up turning into a concrete storyline.
hope is the thing with feathers (part of a series)
ShanaStoryteller
Summary:
Stiles is ten when he saves the Hales from their burning home and Derek from a wolfsbane bullet, and this establishes a pattern that seem to continue indefinitely.
"Then he's facing a burning home, and he wraps the hood of his sweatshirt around his mouth before he pushes the door open and steps inside. There's Mr. Hale asleep - he hopes asleep - on the couch, next to - Stiles thinks that's his brother but there are so many Hales, who can keep track. He rushes over and starts shaking him, can see the rise and fall of the man's chest so he knows he's alive, but he's not waking up. He shoves away his hood so he can shout, "Mr. Hale! You have to get up, there's a fire! Mr. Hale, get up!" Nothing, he's not even twitching, both of them taking in deep even breaths like they're having the most peaceful of rests, and Stiles is going to cry. "Wake up, wake up, wake up!" There's a moment, where all Stiles can hear is the blood rushing in his ears and not the roar of the flames or the creak of wood, then with a violent, silent pop it's all back and both of the men are gasping awake, eyes open and jumping to their feet. "
(one of my favourite fics like EVER)
it came from the trees
whatshouldntbe
Summary:
“Don’t worry, Scott caught me up on everything,” Kira assures with a bubbly smile via video-chat. “You and Derek, huh? I probably should have seen that coming. I always thought it might be Cora, but Derek was the one that looked at you how I used to look at you.”
Stiles goes a little pink. “It’s still kinda new but, yeah. I really like him. He’s...” Beautiful. Patient. Smart. Painfully honest. Sweet.“...a total dork.”
Kira laughs and laughs. When she gets herself together, she replies, “Yeah, those little hearts and stars in your eyes definitely say different."
or
Stiles moves from the shiny, fast-paced lifestyle of Los Angeles to the foggy, sleepy town of Beacon Hills so his dad can become the new sheriff. Newly fifteen, he does his best to finish out his freshman year of high school (by staying under the radar) when he suddenly becomes the Beyoncé of the Supernatural community. And, without much prompting on his part, he ends up catching the eye of one of the most prominent Werewolf families in all of North America. It literally all starts with a stuffed animal(s).
(oh god this fic is the literal best even though its abandoned it ends at okay-ish place. this is one of the best hale family characterisations ive ever read. if you squint it can be a childhood friends to lovers fic but im including it anyway bc its amazing)
Promises aren't Meant to be Broken
paradis
Summary:
“Thanks for saving me,” Stiles blurts out, staring up at Laura, wide eyed.
Laura grins. “I like you,” she says, “we’ll be friends.”
(more laura and stiles besties centric but totally worth a read)
The Things We See
MelodramaticSalad
Summary:
Stiles grew up in the life of knowing that there was always more to life than what others saw with a first glance. Even as a child he saw things that no one else seemed to and always had a fascination with the unusual.
Some considered him an unusual child, but Claudia welcomed every single quirk her son displayed. His mother had a few special talents of her own and thrilled her to see it in her son as well. She'd raised Stiles to always keep his mind open and as grew and started to display his powers, she began to teach him how to use them. She even taught Stiles about werewolves at a young age, his infatuation with them growing once he had learned the truth about her closest friend.
Stiles spent nearly every possible moment that he could roaming the Hale house, following after the middle child most of the time. Derek was three years older than Stiles, but the bond they developed with each other was something their mothers considered out of a story book. Like Derek, Stiles was sensitive to his emotions, but unlike Derek, Stiles didn't need a scent to figure it out. He could feel it.
take me back
matildajones
Summary:
“I dare you to kiss me,” Stiles taunts, and he’s not expecting the way Derek says a naughty word under his breath and then leans forward.
Stiles yelps. He just dodges Derek’s mouth before he’s laughing wildly and running through the trees, calling out a series of ew ew ew as Derek chases him back home.

Just for it to be a fluffy ending? Thank you so much if you take it💗💗
Babe I hope you enjoy this one. 💜🥰

You didn’t get to see your boyfriend Angel that much during the past couple of weeks. Him being busy with the club and you with work so you’re quite happy when Angel came home early and told you to get ready.
This is what you’re doing right now! After you took shower and finished your makeup you’re now standing in front of your wardrobe not sure what to wear. You look around and finally see something that catches your eye. The dress Angel loves to see you in the most. You decide to go for it and grab the matching heels. You try to zip it up but it won’t work. You actually wanted to surprise him with your outfit but plans chance. Your only hope now is Angel.
’’Angel?’’ you yell his name frustrated.
’’Angel’’
’’I’m here querida what’s wrong?’’ he asks you and wraps his arms around your shoulders while resting his head on your head. He watches your appearance in the mirror closely. You look at him with a pout on your face and grab onto his strong arms.
’’Can you help me with the zipper? It’s kinda stuck.’’ you ask him and he nods.
’’Anything for you.’’ he kisses your head and shorty after he’s done and places a kiss on your neck. You turn around and wrap your arms around his neck before kissing him.
’’Thank you Angel.’’
’’No need to thank me baby. You look absolutely breathtaking.’’ he says and you blush. No matter how long you’ve been together he still manages to make you blush.
’’You look quite handsome Mr. Reyes. I’m one lucky girl. C’mon’’ you say and grab his hand.
’’we gotta go’’.
About 20 minutes later you and Angel reach your favorite restaurant. The waiter bring you to your table and the both of you sit down.
’’Thank you baby for taking me out’’ you say and smile at him.
’’No need to thank me mi dulce. It’s the least I can do after being busy with the club and not being able to send much time with you lately.’’ he replies and grabs your hand brining it to his lips kissing the back of it softly.
’’I love you!’’
’’I love you too so much’’
Shorty after the waiter returns with the menus and hands one to Angel before he turn to you handing it to you with the words.
’’And one for the beautiful lady’’ and winks at you. You take it not giving him a second thought and look through it which is why you missed Angels glare.
’’Baby what are you getting?’’ you ask him and look up.
’’Not sure yet. What about you?’’ he asks you.
’’Same as always I don’t even know why I went through it. I mean I eat the same thing each time we are here.’’ you laugh and he gives you a smile. Soon the waiter returns and takes your order. Once he left you see frown on Angels face.
’’What’s wrong Angel?’’ you ask and grab his hand.
’’Nothing Y/n.’’ he reassures you and squeezes your hand. You are totally wrapped up in your conversation when the food arrives not giving the waiter any attention the two of you keep talking. After you’re done eating and the waiter comes back you see Angels facial expression change once again and he gets more and more quiet the longer you are at the restaurant.
The waiter takes the plates and winks at you before he leaves. You roll your eyes and look at your man again.
’’You*re awfully quiet now my love’’
’’Nobody plans a murder out loud.’’ he says shortly before taking a sip of his beer continuing to stare at the table. You watch him with a smile.
’’Keep planning I’m using the restroom.’’ you grab your purse and get up. Your destination the manager. Once you find her she pulls you in her arms.
’’Hey darling.’’ she greets you.
’’Hey Momma G’’ you say. Momma G happens to be your best friends mother.
’’I didn’t know you’re here.’’ she says.
’’Yeah date night. Angel took me out.’’ you say smiling.
’’Ah the handsome Reyes boy. I hope he still treats you well?’’
’’Yes more than well Momma G. He’s the best.’’
’’I’m glad to hear that.’’ she smiles.
’’Why I’m here Momma G. The waiter over there’’ you say and point at him.
’’He can’t take a hint. He keeps staring at me and and flirting I felt kinda uncomfortable. So does Angel I think. He got more and more quiet the longer we’re here. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I wanted to talk to you in private.’’ you end your speech giving her a sad smile.
’’I’m so sorry darling. I’ll talk to him. You go and get your man. Dinner is on me tonight. Wait here I’ll be back.’’ she says and leaves. When she returns she’s holding a bottle of wine in her hands.
’’This one is for you and Angel. The best wine I have here. Pretty expensive too. I’m going to charge w/n with it for making you and Angel uncomfortable. I hope it’s teaching him a lesson. Oh and our cook is wrapping up some chocolate cake for you.’’ she says handing you the bottle.
’’Thanks Momma G’’ you say and kiss her cheek.
’’No need to thank me Y/n. It’s the least I can do.’’ she replies and the door opens. In comes the cook Antonio with the cake.
’’There you go.’’ he says.
’’Thank you Toni’’ you say.
’’Enjoy your night Y/n’’ she says.
’’You too and thanks again for spoiling us like this.’’ you leave and return to your man.
’’I thought you wanted to use the restroom and not raid the kitchen’’ he says and you laugh.
’’I thought you were planning a murder and not trying to become a comedian.’’
’’1:0 for you baby. Why are you still standing?’’
’’Because you and I are leaving now. Come on’’ you nod with your head into the direction of the entrance. He gets up and follows you. Once you reach your car you put the stuff inside while Angel lights up a cigarette sitting hood of your car. You close the door and sit next to him.
’’You know I hate it when I take you out and you decide to pay.’’ he says.
’’Yes I know. Good thing then that I’m a good girl and listen to my man from time to time.’’ you laugh and nudge his side.
’’Great now my girlfriend decides to do a runner. I didn’t know you had that kind of criminal energy inside of you! Girl you’re a bad influence on me.’’ he says laughing. You get up and stand in front of him.
’’I’m full of surprises. Jokes aside babe. Momma G invited us. Let’s go home Angel. I love these heels but they aren’t made to walk in them.’’
Half an hour later you’re home Angel unlocks the door and you head straight to the living room. Angel get 2 wine glasses and forks for the cake. When he returns you sit on the couch in nothing but your underwear. Angel stares at you with wide eyes.
’’Like what you see Reyes’’ you say and he only nods.
’’Don’t get your hopes up. I’m not trying to have sex with you. At least not yet and now gimme my cake’’ you practically demand.
’’Why are you sitting here like this. Not that I’m complaining mi dulce.’’ he says and sits down next to you.
’’Didn’t want so spill anything on the dress and ruin it. I know how much you love seeing me in it and I love the way you look at me when I’m wearing it.
’’Yeah so do other men’’ he says thinking you didn’t hear him but you did.
’’Angel? I know the waiter bothered you. His behavior bothered me too - Made me feel uncomfortable because I saw the change in your eyes. I know you were upset and I hate to see you like this. That’s why I went to Momma G instead of the restroom like I told you. She apologized for the waiters behavior and charged him with the bottle of wine. That thing is hella expensive. And she packed us up some cake so we can continue our date at home. Btw I’m happy you didn’t murder him. I’d hate to see you locked up. I want you to know that I love you. You’re the only one for me - my ride or die. I don’t really pay attention to other men because I have only eyes for you. You treat me so well Angel better than anyone has before - better than I could have imagined like ever. I love you with all the rough edges and flaws. You may not be perfect but that’s okay on one is - but what is important you’re perfect for me. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. You’re my kind of perfect. Don’t ever doubt yourself. You and Me that’s all that matters you hear me. You and me always. I’m not letting go of you like ever. I love you and no-one else. I love you so much it scares me sometimes. I’m done speaking now incase you’d like to say something.’’ you say ending your monologue. He doesn’t say anything. Instead he gets up form the couch and leaves you sitting there. You’re confused hoping you didn’t overwhelm him with your speech. He soon returns to you and sits down on the coffee table in front of you. He takes your hand in his and plays with your fingers.
’’You know I usually don’t talk about my feelings but with you it seems so simple. You’re the best thing that happened to me Y/n never for get that. I wasn’t looking for a relationship but then you came into my life and swept me off my feet. I couldn’t be more thankful to have you in my life. You treat me well, you love me and take care of me. You gave me a home I’m happy to return to every night. You changed me. You make me want to be a better version of myself everyday. Y/n I want you to know that I feel the same there is no-one else but you on my mind. I don’t give a fuck about the girls hanging around the clubhouse. You’re the one I want - the one I crave. I couldn’t be more happy to have such an intelligent and beautiful, kindhearted and also badass woman by my side. I’m so thankful I was blessed with a woman like you. I love you mi dulce more than anything in this world.’’ he drops down on one knee and pulls out a beautiful ring holding it in his hand. You can’t believe it’s happening.
’’Y/n, my sweet sweet Y/n would you want to spent the rest of your life with me?
Will you become my Mrs. Reyes - my wife?
Will you marry me?’’
’’A thousand times yes Angel’’ you say and he and he takes the ring slipping it on your finger before for kissing you passionately.
’’Shit Angel. I can’t believe it.’’
’’Well you better do my fiancée’’ he says with a smile.
’’Fuck the cake Reyes I need you more than that take me to bed.’’ you say laughing.
He shakes his head laughing
’’Your wish is my command my fair lady.’’ and with that you stand up and he throws you over his shoulder taking you there.

Hey, sorry about your shitty day :/ I hope this hc soothe you a little bit. I believe when Bucky stayed in the Wilson's household, he once went to Sarah to ask her about how to cheer Sam up, bc it's "his job" to know as his "partner" and it's only for profesional reasons. And Sarah looks at him with that "You're full of shit, Barnes" look that apparently runs in the family, but helps him anyway. And next time Sam is having a hard time, he's in awe to find Bucky just know what to do to help him
Thank you. You’re sweet. I love this headcanon. Here’s the tiny fic:
Sarah Wilson gave Bucky Barnes a dubious stare.
“What?” he replied, growing nervous.
“You’re full of shit,” she said crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes. Gosh, she looked like Sam when he was unimpressed.
“I just wanna know what to do for Sam when he’s havin’ a hard time. Y’know, as a good partner and friend.”
“Right,” said Sarah. “A friend. Got it.”
“You don’t think we’re friends?”
“I think you are, I just think you wanna be more than friends,” she said, eyes softening when she saw the look on Bucky’s face.
“Yeah, maybe I do. No, actually, I do. I want Sam to be my best guy, but if that’s not what he wants, then I’m gonna be the best friend he’s had. So please, Sarah, tell me what to do to help him.”
Sam was dealing with being snubbed for the Captain America mantle by the US government. Sure, it had left him feel shitty, but he was getting by. He was lounging on the sofa reading when the opening skit and sounds of Janet Jackson’s “What Have You Done for Me Lately” came on.
Bucky stood close, smiling down at Sam, before saying, “Dance with me Sam-Sam.”
Sam narrowed his eyes and gave Barnes a questioning look before getting to his feet, stretching a little, and asking, “What you know about Miss Jackson?”
A few days later, after watching news reports about US Agent being sworn in as Cap, Sam was feeling down again. He let out a sigh and was about to change the channel, when Bucky turned off the TV, picked up a small cushion on the armchair, and whacked Sam about the head without much force.
“Pillow fight!” yelled Bucky as he took up a defensive stance.
“Oh, you are on,” said Sam, grabbing a larger cushion before swinging it at Bucky. “I’m gonna kick your ass, Barnes!”
A few weeks later, news came through that Bucky was being called back to the action as Helmut Zemo had escaped. Sam was quiet for a few days; he wore a forlorn expression on his handsome face. Bucky hated seeing him upset. He thought back to what Sarah had told him.
“What’s going on, Sam-Sam?” asked Bucky as he flopped down beside him on the porch.
“Hey, Buck. You good?”
“Yeah, I just remembered I had these stashed away,” said Bucky as he handed a bag of gummy bears over to Sam. Was the same brand he, Sarah, and their brother Gideon loved as children. He took the bag from Barnes and offered him a sad smile.
“Thank you,” he whispered, before placing the bag next to him.
“Sammy? What’s wrong?”
Sam let out a loud sigh and said, “Everything. These past few weeks haven’t been great. But you. God. You’ve been so great, Buck. And now you have to go. But I get it. It’s part of the job. I just — I’m gonna miss you.”
Bucky felt his heart clench in his chest.
“It ain’t gonna be forever, Sammy,” he replied. “And I’m gonna miss you, too.”
“Not how I’ll miss you,” said Sam, as he glanced sideways at Barnes. “And these last couple of weeks have really made me realize something. You don’t feel the same about me as I feel about you.”
“Sam —“
“No, Bucky. It’s okay. You’ve been amazing. You’ve helped me get outta my own head. Done things that made me feel better, instantly. Like I don’t know how you knew I love old school Janet Jackson; or how pillow fights always made me feel better; or how gummy bears were my favorite candies when I was a kid. You’ve been an amazing friend, more like a sibling.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah, like even calling me Sam-Sam instead of Wilson or Sammy. It’s sweet, but it put things in perspective for me,” said Sam as he took another breath. “You see me as a friend, right? More like a brother or something. And I don’t see you like that.”
“Sam, I — I don’t. How do you see me?”
“It doesn’t matter,” said Sam with a plaintive little chuckle. “You see me as a sibling. You do everything my own siblings do to cheer me up. And that’s great. But it means you’ll never see me how I see you.”
“Sammy, please,” said Bucky as he placed a hand to Sam’s arm. “How do you see me?”
“You’re leaving. It doesn’t matter.”
“It does, because I don’t see you as a brother or anything like that,” said Bucky, finding his courage. “I look at you and I swear my heart’s gonna jump outta my chest. You’re the most gorgeous guy I’ve ever seen. I just wanna make you happy. I wanna give you the world. I can’t even put it into words how I see you, Sam. But it’s somethin’ else. You’re somethin’ else. You’re everything. And I know I don’t have a chance with you; a chance at bein’ your man. But if you just wanna be friends, that’s more than I could ask for.”
Sam looked at Bucky with wide eyes and a racing heart.
“What?” asked Sam. “What’re you saying?”
“The things I did for you, I asked Sarah what she did to make you feel better when you were down,” Bucky explained. “I wanted to make you feel better. I didn’t want it to come across as me trying to be a sibling to you. I wanted to be a good friend to you, because I care about you, Sammy. So much. I want to be more than a friend to you, it’s why I wanted to do nice things.”
“So, hold up. You like me, like me?”
“Yeah, I’m sweet on you, Sammy. Are you sayin’ you’re sweet on me, too?”
Sam took another deep breath, closed his eyes a beat, and then said, “Yes, Bucky. Yes.”
“Oh, thank God,” said Bucky with a laugh and a wide smile.
The pair laughed and looked at one another shyly, before Bucky took hold of Sam’s hand.
“I want to be with you,” he said softly. “I want you to be my best guy.”
Sam bit his lip and nodded his head before saying, “I want that, too.”
They shared a chaste kiss before pulling apart and smiling once more.
“You’re leaving soon.”
Bucky cupped Sam’s face and said, “Yeah, but I’ll come back to you. Promise you’ll be here and save me some gummy bears.”
They kissed again and then Sam smiled and said, “I will and I promise.”

A Long Day of Saving Your Ass
Tumblr media
(gif isn’t mine, creds to the owner!)
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Avenger!Reader
Plot: “Hi darlin! If you’re still taking requests could you do a Bucky x reader where she gets her ass saved from literal death by Bucky during a mission and she refuses to leave his side on the way back or at the tower? And he gives her a back/foot massage to make her nerves calm down aaand they may or may not share a kiss bc they like each other? I hope that makes sense, tysm! 💞” - requested by anon
W/C: 2.3k
Warnings: mentions of fights/blood/kinda ptsd but not really? she’s pretty much just really shaken up and Bucky’s cute and protective as hell about it. also kinda sexual themes towards the end, no smut or anything though it’s all fluff!
(A/N: first of all, thank you so much for all of the love on my last fic, it really really does mean the world and that was just totally insane. okay, so, this request only came in yesterday, but I was so in love with the concept and had this wave of ideas for what I could write, and so here it is! thank you so much for this one, bby! as always, requests are open for any marvel boy you want, plus any of the stranger things boys. i do smut too hehe. any feedback is so welcome and appreciated, it really helps! please like and reblog!)

The quinjet was ready to take off, engine on, Steve behind the wheel. But Y/N wasn't there yet. They'd been holding off on leaving, giving her time to get out and the opportunity to do it without help, but Bucky had been antsy since he'd gotten on the vehicle and realised that she wasn't there.
It wasn't exactly a secret that he liked her, in a way that he hadn't really liked anyone in over seventy years. He'd never admitted it to anyone, not even to himself out loud, but you have to have a certain level of intelligence and basic sight to join the Avengers in the first place, and it wasn't hard to figure out.
Y/N was oblivious to it, rolling her eyes whenever Natasha teased her about 'Bucky's little crush', never taking it seriously. If she'd known that they were really serious about it, she wouldn't have hesitated to make a move. She was inherently forward, had no sense of shame whatsoever, it was common knowledge that she would've said something, at the very least.
"Hey, Y/N, where are you right now?" Bucky spoke into the intercoms, earning wide eyed glances from the rest of the team. They knew that she hated being rushed, hated being babied even more, and the fact that Bucky was doing both was probably about to blow up in all of their faces.
There were obvious sounds of struggle on her end as she answered back with a grunt, "South side, got ten guys on my case. Think I can handle it, though."
"We're ready to leave, Y/N." Bucky grunted, leaning forward in his seat and chewing at his lip. He was met back with a crash and a strangled groan from the assassin, making him shoot up and towards the exit of the ship.
"Bucky, where are you going? She'll kill you if you try to help her-" Tony was standing now, too, worried about his teammate, but figuring that she'd find some way out. Bucky shook his head and pressed the button to open the escape hatch.
"She's going to die if I don't help her, Stark. Keep the engine running, we'll be back in a second." And he was gone with that. Steve closed the hatch, radioing to Bucky to 'keep in touch' as he did so.
Bucky pulled his machine gun from the holster on his back, shooting two guards that were stationed at the front entrance of the Hydra base that they'd sneakily infiltrated, managing to only cause a few minor scenes. He was inside and backed against a wall, scoping out his route to the south side of the building, without wasting a second.
His feet pounded on the metal stairs as he made his way down to where they'd been earlier, where he knew that Y/N still was, and he looked around himself cautiously, gears in his arm turning.
He could hear the fight before he could see it, and he could tell from the noises that Y/N wasn't doing so well. A lot of crashing, thuds, groans mostly from her. The sight wasn't exactly easy to look at either, she was covered in blood, slumped against a wall and kicking her legs wildly while one of the agents held a gun to her temple.
Bucky knew that he had to act fast, and so he shot the agent with the gun without giving away his position, and then proceeded to open fire on the rest of them, trusting in the fact that Y/N knew how to dodge a bullet.
When he was sure that the agents were dead, each one of them crumpled in heaps on the floor, he slung his gun back over his shoulder and ran for Y/N, who let out a relieved sigh upon seeing Bucky. "Oh my God, Buck." She whispered. She wasn't sure what she meant by the words, what she wanted to convey in them, but he seemed to pick up just fine as he wrapped his arms around her shaking and compacted body.
"You're okay, I've got you." He rested his head on top of hers for a second, breathing heavy, just allowing himself to enjoy how it felt to have his body draped over hers. "We've gotta go, okay?"
"I can't run." She said assertively, knowing that there was no way that she'd be able to get up and run like hell, like Bucky seemingly wanted her to. He nodded once, gave her an apologetic smile, and then scooped her up into his arms without another word.
She scrambled to grip onto his black jacket, a gasp leaving her mouth as he picked her up from the floor, flesh arm supporting the backs of her knees and the metal one around her shoulders. He chuckled at her reaction, the way that she white-knuckled the leather of his combat jacket. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna drop you."
"How do you expect me to believe that?" She croaked, trying her hardest to be her usual, sardonic self, but failing miserably as she realised just how fast and hard her heart was beating.
"Because I just saved you from at least ten guys who wanted to kill you within a minute, I'm not dropping you." Bucky replied as he ascended the stairs and she buried her face in his chest, the smell of his cologne relaxing her. He allowed a soft smile to cross his face, bringing his metal hand to her head and almost rocking her like an infant or a small child who had a nightmare.
For Tony saying that she hated being 'babied', she seemed to enjoy it when it was coming from Bucky.
They were back at the ship within a few minutes. Steve had taken off, and Bucky had gone to sit in the back of the ship on his own. Or at least, he'd wanted to sit in the back of the ship on his own, but Y/N was so shaken up and had looked at him like she was a lost puppy when he'd tried to leave her alone, and so he smiled and told her to come with him.
Everyone else had looked between themselves, grinning like mad. "He really likes her." Steve commented and Natasha nodded.
"She really likes him, I'm well aware of that fact." She said.
"I've never seen The Winter Soldier so caring. And, was that - sorry if this seems outlandish - a smile? On Bucky Barnes' face? Surely not." Tony pitched in, leaning back in his chair while his friends laughed.
Meanwhile, Y/N was curled up in a chair, chewing at her fingernails and dabbing at her bloody face with a wet cloth that Bruce had given her the second that she'd gotten on the ship. Bucky watched her, his heart breaking at the way that her hands shook as she brought them to her face, at the way that her entire body shook.
"Hey." He placed a tender and soothing hand on her back, rubbing gentle circles there. "It's okay, you're safe now."
She gave him a wobbly smile that didn't quite reach her eyes and placed her hand over his, allowing him to interlock their fingers. "Yeah. Safe now."
————
She still hadn't left his side, apart from briefly so that she could take a shower. He'd offered to come back to her room with her when she'd hovered around the lounge while everyone else had already dispersed, reminding her that no one was going to hurt her.
She was laying on her bed, hair wet and wearing nothing but a big shirt, while Bucky sat awkwardly on the edge of it, twisting the sheets between his fingers. "You don't have to sit there, you know. I have a sofa, or you can sit back."
Bucky shook his head and looked round at her, she was still visibly shaking, eyes darting around to show just how on edge she was. "It's fine, darlin'. M'fine." His voice was more ragged than he'd expected it to be. "I'm just here to make sure that you're okay."
"Well," She held her arms out, "Come here, that'd make me feel okay." It was a bold move, one that told of her feelings towards Bucky, but she didn't mind much, figuring that he probably wouldn't decline her.
He chuckled, shaking his head at her, but still, kicked his boots off and lay down next to her, allowing her to wrap her arms tightly around his torso and press her cheek over his heart. "Hey, you're okay, sweetheart." He stroked her hair. "There's nothing to be on edge about, yeah? I've got you."
"Yeah. Yeah, I know. Sorry, I don't know why I'm so freaked out." Her breathing was picking back up again, so Bucky shushed her and pressed a soft kiss to the top of her head, something that drove the butterflies in her stomach wild.
"It's okay, baby." The nickname just added to the way that her stomach fluttered, and she swallowed hard to try to forget about it. "Hey, how about I do something that'll relax you, yeah?"
"And what would that be, Barnes?" She smirked mischievously and he laughed at her.
"Lay on your stomach." He removed his arm from around her shoulders, and she looked at him with one eyebrow raised, obviously thinking that he was implying something way more forward than what he was actually implying. "Woah, no, no, no. I give good back massages, metal arm and all."
She laughed, throwing her head back into the pillows at the headboard of her bed. "Oh my God, Bucky. I hate you so much." She breathed out, flipping over so that she was laying on her stomach, back exposed to him.
"Can I pull your shirt up, or?" Bucky whispered, running his hands up and down the back of her t-shirt, and she nodded.
His breath hitched in his throat and he found himself struggling to think straight when he lifted the hem of her large shirt, to show that she was only wearing a pair of black panties underneath. She didn't seem to mind, so he didn't mention it, even though his breathing was hindered as he trailed his hands from the small of her back to her shoulders, thumbs rubbing circles as he did so.
She sighed and could've sworn that her eyes rolled back into her head as she relaxed into his touch, one hand cold and the other warm. She understood what he meant when he said that he was good at giving back massages.
"Feel okay?" He asked softly, swallowing hard. She nodded again.
"My God, Bucky, feels fucking amazing." She moaned, and he hated himself when his stomach flipped upon hearing her. "You're so good at that."
He had to stop when she said that, hands still on her shoulders but unmoving, just sitting still. He couldn't think about anything else other than sex when she was moaning like that, something that he wanted to punch himself for. It was such a tender moment, she was scared and so vulnerable, and all that was going through his brain were those thoughts.
"You okay?" She asked, and when he didn't answer she flipped back over, sitting in front of him. He looked like he'd seen a ghost as his tongue darted out to lick over his bottom lip. She reached a hand out, caressing his cheek gently to bring him back to reality. "Bucky?"
"Can I kiss you?" The words were leaving his mouth before he even knew what to do with them, what they meant and how she'd react. As soon as he realised what he'd said, he had his face in his hands, shaking his head. "Shit, sorry."
"No. No, Bucky, don't apologise. Look at me." She wrapped her fingers around his wrist, prying his hands away from his face. "Yes. Of course you can kiss me."
He furrowed his eyebrows, wondering if what she'd just said was real. She was looking into his eyes so intently, staring at the light blue rings around his pupils, realising how pretty they really were now that she was this close. "Kiss me." She whispered, and Bucky took no hesitation in complying to what she was asking of him.
His lips were on hers, and they were so gentle and soft, gliding against hers effortlessly. He pulled her closer to him with a hand on her back, the other cupping her cheek lovingly. His tongue had soon slipped between her lips, earning a soft little whine from her, as his tongue met hers and they worked out how to move them together in harmony.
She eventually pulled back, breathless, and simply grinned at him before laying back and pulling him with her. They resumed their earlier position, her arms wrapped firmly around his waist, his arm around her shoulders, her head on his chest while his hand stroked her hair. "Relaxed?" He laughed and she smiled and nodded.
"I'll get goin', it's late and you look tired, princess." Another nickname, another flourish from the butterflies in the pit of her stomach. Just as Bucky was getting up to leave, she grabbed onto his shirt and pulled him back to her, snuggling back up to his chest.
"Stay. Please."

Jonathan was sitting on the counter, Nancy leaning on his legs when Billy walked in.
He smiled sheepishly at them, heading towards where Steve was behind the counter, chatting as he rewound tapes. He ducked over into the horror section, re-emerging quickly, obviously knew what he was comin’ in for.
“Oh, Exorcist. I haven’t seen this one. Steve was all smiles as he stood up to help Billy.
“It’s pretty good. Lots a’ gore, and stuff.” Billy side eyed Jon and Nancy, leaning a little further over the counter. “We could watch it together, if you wanted.”
Billy had gotten a nice studio apartment in downtown Hawkins with the government cash out he had gotten from the whole Starcourt ordeal. Steve had helped him move in, hadn’t been back since.
“Sorry, man. Don’t really like horror movies.”
Nancy noted how dejected Billy looked when Steve looked down to punch in the amount on the register. Billy left with a small wave and Nancy reached over to whack Steve in the arm.
“What the hell was that for?” He was pouting at her, rubbing his arm.
“You’re an idiot, Steve Harrington.”
“What’d I do this time?”
“Billy just asked you out!” Steve’s eyes were wide.
“No?”
“Yes.”
“No, he just invited me over. He does that a lot. usually he rents movies I don’t think I would like, though.”
“He wants you to come over and get scared so he can protect you, or whatever.”
“N-no.”
“Yes. He wants to sit on the couch, and put his arm over you, and he wants you to hide your face in his chest when you’re scared literally all guys use that move.” She considered Jonathan for a moment. “Current company excluded.”
“I still don’t think he was asking me out.”
-
“Billy!” Nancy just so happened to be loitering near his apartment building as Billy was returning from his weekend job at the garage near family video.  Billy started when she called his name.
“Uh, hey Nancy.” He was fidgeting with the buttons on his coveralls.
“Look, Steve is sweet, but he’s the most oblivious person on the planet.” Billy tightened his jaw, a shadow of his rough self, his rough pre-Starcourt self.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He tried to push past her, but she just followed him up the stairs.
“I know you were trying to ask him out yesterday.”
“Wasn’t tryna do shit.”
“I don’t care that you’re into him. I want to help you.” She rolled her eyes.
“Help me?” He raised one eyebrow as they crossed into his little apartment, appraising her. “Help me do what?” She turned to him, grinning wide.
“I’m going to help you get him.”
-
“He likes movies with a lot of adventure. A steady rise and fall of events. So, Indiana Jones, or Conan, or James Bond, all of those. And he loves westerns. He made me watch so many fucking westerns.”
“Sounds like he just likes hot guys.” Nancy rolled her eyes.
“He likes Barbarella, too. He doesn’t have much in the way of an attention span, so things need to be constantly happening. He took me to see Gremlins three times when it came to the Hawk.”
“Okay, so action adventure. Easy enough.”
“Well, he’s also got a big soft spot for sappy romances. And I’m talking the real sappy ones, not like Sixteen Candles, I mean Gone with the Wind, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Cleopatra. He’s a big mushball, and he loves love.” Billy kinda felt like he should be taking notes at this point. “He has all these Italian films from the forties, and he says that’s what he grew up watching, and they’re all very romantic. He loves watching those, because then he’ll translate the whole time, and I think that makes him feel romantic, it’s a whole thing.”
“Wait, he speaks Italian?”
“His mother was born in Italy somewhere. It’s his first language.”
“Shit, I didn’t know that.”
“He’s quite proud of it. He was raised by his grandmother, his nonna, and still knows all of her recipes.”
“That’s cute.” Billy thought for a second. “So, I should invite him over for a movie he’d like, and if I conveniently had all the ingredients for some complicated Italian dish, just like, around, he could be into that?”
Nancy stared at him.
“Wow. You’re just as mushy as he is.”
“Don’t hate.”
-
“You need to help me.”
“Nance, I just don’t feel like we should get-”
“Of course we should get in the middle of this! Our friends have a chance to be happy, together.” Jonathan huffed.
“Nancy, be honest with me. Are you just trying to do this because you genuinely want Billy and Steve to be happy, or because you still feel guilty about everything that happened with Steve?” Her mouth dropped open.
“I, I don’t-no.” She shook her head. “Of course not.” Jonathan raised an eyebrow at her. “No, Jon. I want them to be happy.”
“Okay, but I still don’t think we should interfere.”
“Of course we should. You saw them the other day, they cannot do this themselves. I’ve already talked to Billy.”
“You already-Nancy.” He gave her a look.
“What? I’m helping.” He rolled his eyes.
-
“Nancy’s making me talk to you.” Jonathan kept his voice monotone.
“Um, about what?” Steve was reshelving tapes, Jonathan following behind him with the box full.
“About Billy.”
“What about Billy?”
“She wants to help you two get together.” Steve laughed.
“I know she means well, but he does not like me like that.”
“She seems to think he does. Apparently, she’s already talked to Billy. They’ve got a whole plan.”
“A plan? What do you mean?”
“She told him all of your favorite movies and they’re idea is that you’ll go to his place and you’ll cook dinner together and watch a movie.”
Steve’s eyes were big when he looked up at Jonathan.
“Wait he, there’s actually a plan?” He was picking at the peeling sticker on a Cinderella tape. “What are we gonna cook?”
“I don’t know. Billy said he’s just gonna get a bunch of vague Italian shit, his words, and he’s hoping you’ll take over from there.” Steve smiled to himself.
“Um, you think you could get him a list? So he doesn’t just have to buy stuff.” Jonathan furrowed his brows.
“Wait so, you’re good with this?”
“I mean, it’s kinda, it’s kinda sweet.”
“So, her plan worked?”
“Well, I still gotta go on the date.” Steve returned to shelving tapes.
“But, you’re going?”
“Yeah. If he asks.”
“Get me a grocery list. And believe me, he’ll ask.”
-
Steve had picked one of his favorite recipes, giving Jonathan a list to casually slip to Billy.
He had been waiting all week for Billy to come back, rent some movie he loves, and ask him over.
But it had been days since he had spoken with Jonathan.
And he was losing hope.
“What’s up, Mopey?” Robin was fake pouting at him.
“Billy hasn’t been in in a while. Is all.” Steve shrugged, tried to act all casual.
Robin rolled her eyes.
“Missing your boyfriend?”
“Shut up.” His face was red as he mumbled. “Nancy and Jonathan kinda, they kinda made a plan, and I think he’s just, I think Billy’s not actually gonna go through with it.” She sighed.
“Look, I told Nancy I was not gonna get mixed up in this, but, he likes you, Dingus. He’s not backing out, he’s not blowing you off. Take a breath.”
“I’m just, I care about him, you know? He’s been through a lot. I don’t wanna fuck it up.” Steve was scuffing his foot against the ground, watching it intently. “I always fuck it up.”
“Hey, it’s just one date. And maybe there’ll be a next, and a next, but for now, take the date. Have a good night.”
-
Jonathan was back on the counter, watching Billy psych himself up outside.
He was hoping from foot to foot, obviously practicing everything he was gonna say.
Steve was being very good at not making eye contact with everyone.
The bell above the door made a loud sound as Billy shoved it open.
He stared at his feet as he hid himself in one of the aisles.
Steve gave Nancy a panicked look.
“Breathe,” She hissed at him. He took a few deep breaths in and out of his mouth, his eyebrows scrunched together.
A few minutes later, just as Steve had calmed himself down, Billy came back out of the aisle, a few different tapes in his hands.
He set the tapes down, giving Steve a nice smile, a real smile.
“Hey, Bill.” Steve wasn’t even looking at the tapes.
“Hi, Pretty Boy.” Steve flushed. “What’re you up to tonight?”
It was painful, watching the two of them dance around one another. Billy didn’t know Steve was in on the plan, didn’t know Steve was fucking vibrating and the speed of sound for Billy to ask him out.
“Um, nothing much. Just gonna go home.”
Nancy slapped Jonathan’s leg, pulling him into one of the aisles, spying on the two from around the shelf. Robin stayed sitting behind Steve, snapping her gum.
“You could come over, if you want. Watch one a’ these.” Steve finally looked down at the tapes, brightening up right away.
“I love Barbarella.”
“That’s ‘cause you’re a human.” Steve laughed as he punched in the amount. There were beginning to fall into a rhythm, Steve picking up the next tape.
“Oh shit.” He was holding the Sound of Music tape like it was made of gold. “I used to really love this movie.”
“We can watch it, if you want. I’ve never seen it.” Steve looked at him like he had an extra head.
“You’ve never seen it? Billy, what the fuck? We’re so watching this tonight.” He picked up the last tape.
“That one I got for me.”
“I uh, I didn’t even know this movie existed.” He was staring wearily at the mutant on the front, tracing the font spelling out Forbidden World.
“Oh Pretty Boy, you’d hate it.” Steve laughed. He took Billy’s neat bills, practiced hands made quick change.
Their hands brushed as Steve passed over the coins.
“You want me to bring anything? Tonight?”
“Just yourself.”
“Nothing for dinner?”
“I mean, I got some stuff. If you wanna, like, make something.” Billy was fidgeting with the tapes.
“Yeah, I, uh, I really like cooking. We could, like, cook together.”
“I’d like that.” Steve gave Billy one of his sunshiniest smiles. Made Billy melt a little. “What time you get off?”
“Five.”
“Be over as soon as you can, then.”
“Okay. Yeah, I’ll be there.”
“It’s a date then, Stevie.” Steve was grinning like he had won the fucking lottery. Billy gave him a stupid little two finger salute, nearly ramming into the glass door on this way out.
Steve waited until Billy was safely out of view of the storefront windows before he lost his shit.
He was wiggling around like the happiest little worm, Nancy coming out of hiding to give him a hug.
Robin snapped her gum at him when he tried to get near her, so he hugged Nancy again.
“Hey, thank you guys. For, for everything.” Jonathan clapped him on the back.
“No problem, man. Just do us all a favor, and get laid.”
