episode five: dig dug
“You like Y/N?” Dustin asks at the same time as you ask, “You like me?” Steve rolls his eyes. “Yeah, barely. She’s on thin ice. But you, little Henderson? You just stole the flowers meant for my girlfriend, so backseat you go.” “Yes!” You cheer, pumping your fist in the air as you flash Steve a smile. “Thanks, Harrington.” He rounds the front of his car and opens the driver's side door. “Yeah, don’t get used to it. Like I said, you’re still on thin ice.”
Summary: you and dustin bury a body and con your mother into fleeing town, great sibling bonding time ! you play hockey with a monster, dustin gets ghosted by his friends, and now it's your turn to kidnap steve (technically dustin does, but you don't stop him) who later gives you some terrifying realizations.
Rating: general, swearing and slight violence

Before you swing in: hello ! late chapter update, but here ya go lovelies !! lots has happened recently, i got a sick ass job and im super excited and :))) so updates will definitely slow down again some more, but i promise i will update whenever possible. for now, please enjoy !
“Remember how angry I was at you about hiding El from me last year?”
“Yeah?”
“Visualize the anger, multiply it by ten, and then take three steps back from me.”
Dustin trips over his feet to scramble away from you.
You’re currently in your own room, the door locked, with Dustin standing several feet away now as he heeds your warning. Never in your life have you felt such rage before, such blinding fury, and you thought you knew what anger was when your dad left.
But this? This is a new type of anger, one you know that only the older sister to Dustin Henderson could ever feel.
As soon as Dart had lifted its head up at you and screeched, you’d immediately snatched your brother’s hand into yours and ran out the door, door slamming behind you. Now, you’re hiding out in your room with no fucking clue what to do.
“You killed our cat.”
“Technically Dart did.” You glare at Dustin. You had actually liked Mews, she was the sweetest cat in the world and a gift for your fifth birthday. Your brother, sensing he’s only digging a deeper hole for himself, coughs. “I mean… Yeah. I killed our cat.”
Stepping back, you find your desk chair against your legs and fall into the seat. Exhaustion sweeps over you. There’s no time to grieve the loss of your cat. Not when there’s a baby demogorgon in Dustin’s room eating said cat’s corpse still. “What do we even do in this situation?”
“Not tell mom?” Again, you glare at Dustin and he squeaks in fear. “Well I mean, that’s all I can think of right now!”
A headache forms. “I should’ve gone with Jonathan and Nancy.”
Dustin thinks for a moment. “Where did they go, anyways?”
“No. You don’t get to ask any questions right now.”
“Yes ma’am.”
You sigh, a vague idea forming in your mind. “Okay, first we need get Mews out of the room. She was mom’s favorite child, we can’t just leave her in there to be diminished to bones.”
Dustin nods. “Obviously. We can do that… right?”
“We have to. Once she’s out of there, we just… leave Dart in there. At least for now. It’s already late in the afternoon and we need so much help from the party.”
“We can’t tell the party–”
“You’re right. We can’t,” Dustin sighs with relief, but you give him an evil smile. “But you can tell the party. You’ll radio everyone tomorrow, clean the house, and make a plan from there.”
Dustin tries to argue, but you hold a hand up. “You brought a baby demogorgon into our house. You lost every arguing privilege there is to lose.”
He groans, knowing you’re right. Next time, he’ll be better at hiding things from you because you’re a total buzzkill whenever you inevitably find out.
Together, the two of you hatch a plan. You’ll walk into Dustin’s room first, knives out and ready just in case, and Dustin will follow once the coast is clear. Then, he’ll lure Dart away from Mews’ body with chocolate (you don’t want to ask why), and once he’s gone you’ll snatch your cat’s body and flee the room immediately afterwards.
It’s a good plan.
That is, if it works.
“Ready?” You’re standing in front of Dustin’s door, your knives flicked open in your hand, ready for possible war with a foot long little demon.
Your brother pats your shoulder. “Don’t die, sis.”
“I’m holding knives as we speak. Touch me again and die.”
“I hope Dart eats your face.”
You smile. “There’s my brother. Okay, as soon as I’m inside the room, close the door. Then, when I knock three times, open it again and enter.”
“Wait for two knocks–”
“Three.”
“Three knocks. Right.”
You steady your breathing. Around the corner, you can hear your mom humming to herself as she makes dinner. She has no clue what’s going on, and you envy her for it. Your hand on Dustin’s door knob twists slowly, then, before you can psych yourself out, you turn the knob and throw yourself inside.
Quickly the door slams behind you, so at least Dustin did something right.
Your eyes, which had previously been squeezed shut, open slowly. When you don’t see any sign of Dart, you exhale. So far, so good. You walk towards the couch and find the creature still eating away at your dead cat, which you gag at.
Poor Mews.
You rap your knuckles against the door three times, alerting Dustin to come inside.
He opens the door and walks in, his hands fisted against his face as if that would do anything to keep him safe. You roll your eyes and flick his head, which he whines at. “Grab the chocolate and distract Dart, please.”
Dustin runs over to his desk and grabs a Musketeers bar. When you see the candy’s name, you want to slam your head against the wall. You know exactly why the monster’s name is Dart.
“Let me guess,” you say, your tone mocking. “D’Artagnan?”
“Don’t you have a corpse to collect?”
You scoff at him but step aside so that he can dangle the chocolate in Dart’s face. You watch, alert for any signs of danger in case you need to step in, but the monster seems to be pretty friendly with Dustin. You guess they really did create a bond.
Once Dart is far enough away from Mews, you run over and snatch up her body. You try not to think about the possible cat guts now all over your sweater. That will be a later issue. Like a lot of things in your life recently.
“Go, go, go!” You push Dustin towards the door.
He doesn’t need to be told twice, throwing the last piece of the candy bar at Dart’s face and running out the door right behind you. Once you’re both out the room with the door closed, you both lean against the wall and exhale deeply.
“Good job. Now onto phase two.”
Dustin makes a face. “Why do I have to distract mom?”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” you hold up Mews’ bloody body. “Do you want to be the one to hold our dead cat?”
“Good point, I’ll go distract mom.” Dustin leaves, rounding the corner to go hopefully distract your poor mother in a sane way. With your luck, Dustin will spew some weird bullshit that will only make her more worried than she already is.
Right on cue, you hear Dustin say from the kitchen. “Mom, I think I broke my arm.”
The scream of fear your mom lets out would’ve been comedic had you not been holding her beloved dead cat.
Your mother runs around the kitchen, fretting over your brother, and the second she isn’t looking, you slip out the front door and quickly throw Mews’ body into your bush. You feel a bit bad about that, but there’s nowhere else to hide her body in broad daylight.
When you walk back inside, Dustin is being swaddled by your mother. “What did I miss?”
“Oh, Y/N!” Your mom sighs. “Dusty said he thought he broke his arm, but the silly boy seems to be okay.”
Dustin pats her back. “Ha, right. Silly me!”
Your mom looks up and then squints a bit, eying your sweater. You look down and your heart drops. It’s covered in Mews’ blood.
Fuck.
“Y/N, what’s that all over your sweater?”
“Paint!” You say while Dustin sputters, “Ketchup!”
“We… Were painting with ketchup.” You lie, sending a quick glare your brother’s way. Out of everything red, why ketchup?
“Oh, alright.” Your mom looks uncertain, but doesn’t say anything else about it. “Well, dinner is almost ready. Why don’t you go wash up, honey?”
The second you’re dismissed, you run into your room and yank the sweater off. You’ll burn it tomorrow. First chance you get.
A few seconds later, there’s a knock on your door before Dustin’s head pokes inside. “Dinner’s done.”
“Great. Holding your dead cat definitely works up an appetite.”
“Look, I’m sorry, okay?” Dustin tries to play it off, but you see the genuine upset in his eyes. He hadn’t meant to hurt anyone, and you know he loved Mews too.
You sigh and walk over to him and kiss his curls. “It’s okay. Next time, let’s not hide a monster from the Upside Down, yeah?”
“Deal.”
Dustin spends the night in your room, which you explain to your mom as needing some “serious bonding time”. She tears up at this, unaware of the fact that you’ll be making your brother sleep on the floor as punishment.
The next morning you and Dustin hatch yet another plan: get mom out of the house. Before you two can do anything else, you both agree that your mom cannot be anywhere near Dart. Plus, she’s already noticed Mews’ absence, so it’s only a matter of time before she finds the body in the bush.
“Alright, you’ll fake the phone call while I start gathering the supplies.” You tell Dustin while your mom calls for Mews outside. She’s at the bottom of the driveway, Mews’ favorite toy in her hand, shaking it around, unaware that the cat’s dead body is in the bush next to her.
“Got it. You remember where my old hockey suit is?” You nod at Dustin’s question, and he’s about to say something else before he sees your mom start walking back towards the house. “Shit! Game time, go!”
Dustin fumbles for the phone and you run to the living room closet. Just as you’ve entered your positions, your mom walks through the front door.
“Mewsy! Dusty, Y/N, sweethearts, you’re sure she’s not in your rooms?”
“No, mom.” You shake your head at her.
Holding up a finger, Dustin presses the phone to his ear and motions for the woman to remain quiet. “Uh-huh. Thank you so much, Mr. McCorkle. Thank you so much, you are a true lifesaver.”
You can’t help but roll your eyes. He’s laying it on pretty thick.
“Alright, this was great. Thank you, have a good one. Bye-bye now, all right. You too.” Dustin pretends to hang up the phone and smiles at your mom. “Alright, great news!”
“They found her?” Tears of joy lace your mother’s voice. You have to turn away, you know she’d notice the discomfort on your face. It feels horrible to be lying to your mother like this.
Dustin seems to be thinking the same thing, because he lowers his voice and gently approaches her. “No, but they saw her wandering around Loch Nora.”
More tears flow down your mom’s face. “How did the poor baby get all the way over there?”
“I don’t know, lost I guess. But they’re gonna look for her, and–and Y/N and I will stay here, just in case they call again. Right, Y/N?”
“Right!” You call from the closet, now quickly grabbing everything you can think of. Would a hammer be necessary?
“And you’re gonna go help look. Yeah?” Dustin’s only response is a relieved hug from your crying mother. “Yeah, give me a hug. Go get her!”
Your mom quickly composes herself and grabs her glasses. She presses a kiss to your forehead and seems to be in better spirits. “We’ll find her!”
“Mews will be home soon, mom!” You cheer, and your mom blows you another kiss.
“I love you,” Dustin sends her a thumbs up.
“I love you, kids.” And with that, your mom clutches her purse to her chest and sends one final kiss your way before shutting the door behind her.
As soon as the door shuts, you and Dustin scramble. Dustin heads to the backyard to open your cellar doors and you grab the remaining hockey gear from the closet. While you drag the uniform out to the living room, your brother begins to look through the fridge for any possible bait.
“Think Dart would like bologna?” Dustin calls over his shoulder as he digs around.
You groan, dropping the heavy goalie pads. “Last I checked, he wasn’t my secret Upside Down pet.”
“Touche.”
Dustin grabs the bologna and starts making a trail from his room towards the front door. While he does that, you start sorting through your own pile of gear, soccer to be specific. Dustin liked hockey, you preferred warmer sports. As you’ve finished lacing up your cleats and shin pads, Dustin returns.
“Okay, the bait is all set up. Got my hockey stick?”
You hand him what he needs. “Here, and your helmet is on the couch.”
Dustin gets ready and you retrieve some oven mitts from the kitchen. When you hand them to the boy, he looks at you like you’re insane. “What? Extra protection. Can’t hurt.”
He sighs and swipes them from your hand, putting them on. Once he’s ready, you help him stand up. He looks ridiculous in his old hockey gear, but you suppose you don’t look any better with your shin pads and Dustin’s spare shoulder pads.
“Alright. We all set?”
Dustin pats his helmet. “Ready.”
You walk towards his room, and once you’re there, Dustin pushes past you and bends down a bit so he can speak through his keyhole. “Alright, Dart. Breakfast time.”
“Do we have to mention breakfast right before we set him free?" You mumble, but your brother ignores you.
Slowly, he reaches towards the door handle and then flings it open. As soon as the door has been moved, Dustin practically knocks you to the ground in his haste to escape. “Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!”
His mantra reminds you of Steve’s from last year at Jonathan’s. Seems like the two boys have something in common: they’re idiots.
You follow quickly behind Dustin, terrified but at least trying to hide it, while your brother just repeats “oh my god”, and “shit” over and over again as he stumbles over the bait and out towards the front door.
If the situation wasn’t so grave, you’d be giggling at how dumb Dustin looks waddling over bologna on the floor. However, Dart could very well be right behind you, so you run after the kid equally as terrified.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit–”
By this point, you’re nearing the tool shed outside.
“I will push you down these stairs Dustin Henderson.”
Dustin shuts up and, as soon as you’re inside the shed as well, locks it behind him. Once he’s sure you’re all cleared, he lets out a breath of relief. “Okay, now we wait.”
You walk towards the wood panels, squinting as you peek through a gap to see outside. “I don’t see anything.”
Dustin does the same. “Come on, I know you’re hungry…”
Everything remains still outside, and you’re starting to worry that maybe Dart doesn’t like bologna after all, until you see his scaly body walk out the door. He gobbles down the bologna pieces one by one, which you cringe at.
“Yeah. He likes bologna, alright.”
Dustin silently cheers. “Yes! Yes, yes, yes!”
Dart makes his way down the trail, eating every piece he finds, and soon he scampers down the steps and hovers over the cellar doors. In an odd way, the little guy is kinda cute if you forget about the fact that he killed your cat.
“Yes, yes, yes!” Dustin continues to chant as you watch Dart. The creature just has one more piece of bologna left, he just needs to take a few more steps inside before you can slam the doors shut.
But, because nothing can ever be easy for you, Dart suddenly turns and looks straight at you and Dustin. “Shit!”
You flinch back, knocking into a bucket of nails that spill everywhere. “Shit again!”
Dustin tries to shush you but you grab him by his shoulders and force him behind you. Your knives are out, their blades gleaming in the sunlight that creeps through the wood panels. You peek through them to find Dart slowly approaching the shed, his mouth almost watering.
“Well, this isn’t good.” You take a breath to lessen your fear. “Stay here, I’ll try to distract him–”
“AHHH!” Dustin shoves you against the opposite wall, your body flinging back with a harsh crash, and breaks through the shed’s door. With one solid wack from his hockey stick, he flings Dart into the cellar.
“What the–Dustin!” By the time you make it out the shed, your brother has flung himself on top of the cellar doors, panting.
“Got him,” he informs you, as if it isn’t obvious enough. Dart begins to screech with anger, and Dustin sighs. “I’m sorry, you ate my cat.”
“You’re an idiot, Dustin.”
“Yeah, yeah. Just give me five seconds to catch my breath, please.”
With Dart safely locked away, you and Dustin are able to finally bury your cat.
It doesn’t take long, but the early November heat is just warm enough to make you annoyed as you dig through the soil in your backyard. Dustin has his walkie with him, trying to find the right frequency so he can call the party and inform them of what’s going on.
“Guys, this is Dustin again. Does anyone copy?” You stab at the ground with your shovel and your brother groans when he gets no response. “This is a code red. I repeat, a code red!”
Sweat trickles down your brow and honestly it should be Dustin burying the cat, but you’ve never learned how to radio the party so you just sigh and throw more dirt upon your dead cat. Dustin tries a few more times to contact the party, but no one responds.
“Damn it!” He shouts, frustrated.
“Language,” you huff out, more sweat forming.
It goes on like this for a while, Dustin trying and failing to reach anyone, as you two begin to clean the house of any blood and Mews guts. He tries again while you guys grab the cleaning supplies, then again while you’re on your hands and knees scrubbing his carpet in his room.
“Alright, it’s Dustin again. Seriously, I have a code red.”
“Maybe they don’t know what code red means?” You offer, your nose scrunched up due to the bleach fumes.
Dustin scoffs, “sure, and they also don’t know who Luke Skywalker’s father is–”
Suddenly Erica’s voice comes through the walkie. “Can you please shut up?”
“Erica?” Dustin stops scrubbing and straightens up. “Erica, is Lucas there? Where is he?”
“Don’t know. Don’t care.” Erica has always been such a lovely girl.
“Is he with Mike?”
“Like I said, I don’t know and I don’t care.”
You and Dustin share a look. It worries you that Mike hasn’t been responding all day. From what you’ve heard and seen, he’s spent every day this year camped out in his fort in the basement trying to contact El with the radio frequencies.
It’s not like to Mike to just disappear.
“Listen, Erica.” You speak up, trying to sweet talk to the girl. You’ve babysat her a few times and you’ve even managed to convince her you’re kinda cool, so maybe she’ll respond better to you. “Did Lucas mention anything else? Maybe… Maybe like a girl he went to see?”
Dustin frowns. “A girl? What–” You shush him and wait for a response.
Erica snorts. “A girl? Please, as if. He’s been gone all day. That’s all I can tell you.”
Your brother closes his eyes and sighs. “Please tell him it’s super important. Please tell him that I have a code–”
“Code red?” Erica interrupts.
“Yep, code red. Exactly.” Dustin smiles, then covers his mike to whisper to you, “seems like she likes me more than you–”
“I got a code for you instead. It’s called code shut-your-mouth.” Then, Erica switches off the walkie.
Dustin stares at nothing, dumbfounded. You go back to scrubbing the carpet, a pleased smile on your face. “So, you were saying?”
He’s quiet for a few seconds, processing the fact that clearly no one in the party will answer, before letting out an obnoxious groan. “Damn it!”
“Are you gonna help me clean, or–?”
“Can’t you just call Jonathan?” Dustin asks, grasping at straws. “Maybe he can be useful for once and help.”
You shake your head. “No, he’s out of town right now with Nancy.”
“And you’re okay with this because…?”
“Because,” you roll your eyes, “they’re on a secret mission to take down Hawkin’s Lab. They’re at some detective’s house right now, so I have zero way of contacting them.”
Dustin rubs at his eyes tiredly. “How did we get stuck with a cat eating baby demogorgon while Jonathan and Nancy get cool spy work?”
You pinch his leg, causing him to wince and move away from you. “Because you purposefully hid the baby demogorgon. Any other stupid questions?”
“Sure,” Dustin throws his hands up in defeat, obviously joking when he asks, “got any other friend we could call for help?”
A sarcastic laugh escapes your lips and you’re about to tell him that he has more friends than you’ve ever had, but then a thought occurs to you.
Steve.
Technically speaking, you’re friends. Well, sort of. Sure, he had wanted space yesterday in the lunchroom, and yeah he’s still mad at you and things are awkward at best between the two of you, but still…
He’d been at Jonathan’s house last year, he had fought by your side and saved your life and even bought you a vending machine full of snacks. If anyone else could understand the situation you’re in right now, it’s Steve.
You hesitate though. He still seemed really hurt at lunch, but you also saw the way he lingered even after dismissing himself. He doesn’t hate you, at least not really, and without Jonathan or Nancy to call, he’s the only person you have left right now.
It can’t hurt to try, at least.
“Actually, yeah.” You respond after a minute or so. “Be right back.”
Dustin asks questions as you head towards the living room, but you don’t respond. If Steve doesn’t answer, then you can make up some lie about the phone being broken or something to save yourself the embarrassment.
Your fingers press Steve’s long remembered number. He had given it to you his first week of visiting you at Bookstrordinary, assuring you that you could call him whenever. After a while, you took his word on it and started calling the boy every time you were bored and alone at work.
The line rings for a few seconds, and you bite your lip in anticipation.
This is a horrible idea, and yet your heart flutters when Steve answers with a groggy, “hello?”
“Hey, Steve.”
“Y/N?” He sounds surprised.
You can’t blame him, he did quite literally yesterday tell you he’s still upset with you and that he needs space. And yet here you are: calling him early on a Saturday afternoon. “Yeah, it’s me. Listen, I really need your help–”
A sigh. “Normally I’d love to, but I’m kinda in the middle of getting ready to go to Nancy’s.”
“Nancy’s? Steve, she’s not even home–”
“Can we talk later? I… I’d really like to talk, if that’s alright with you.”
This throws you, and for a second you forget about the reason you called. “Of course we can talk, Steve.”
“Great,” you can hear a smile in his voice, which warms you. “I’ll see you later, then.”
Then you remember Dart and the blood on Dustin’s carpet and you frantically try to stop Steve from hanging up. “Wait, no! Steve, Nancy isn’t home and I really need you to–”
The line goes dead, and you slam the phone down. “Damn it!”
Dustin, hearing the commotion, wanders into the kitchen. “Take it the call didn’t go well?”
“No, it did.” Sure, Steve didn’t necessarily offer his help, but he did tell you where he’s going to be in about twenty minutes. You’ll ambush him there and demand he listen to you and help. As a bonding exercise, of course. “We’re going to the Wheeler’s.”
“Why?”
“Steve’s heading there.”
Dustin trips over his shoelaces. “Steve Harrington?”
“Long story,” you sigh, dreading that you’ll have to explain all of this eventually. “C’mon, let's get our bikes.”
You and Dustin get to the Wheeler’s before Steve does, which makes no sense to you but whatever. He’ll be here soon enough and you’ll ambush him with all your charm and maybe a bit of groveling. You’re not beneath it, if you’re being honest.
Dustin goes up to the front door while you stay behind, keeping an eye out for Steve. Ted opens the front door and while you can’t hear what he says to Dustin, you know he’s unamused by his presence. The father has never been your favorite parent within the group, honestly.
You watch as they exchange a few more words before you see Dustin sigh and angrily march back towards you. Then, right as he’s grabbed his bike, a familiar red BMW pulls up. Just seeing his car makes your heart skip a beat.
The car parks and a frazzled Steve steps out, carrying flowers and mumbling to himself. You aren’t able to hear everything he’s saying, but you can hear the words “what the hell am I sorry for?” and your stomach twists.
So clearly he’s not in a good mood. Still.
The flowers, which you now can see are roses, hang by Steve’s side as he fixes his hair. He hasn’t noticed you yet, and it takes everything within you to pull your eyes away. He looks good today, too good.
There’s a monster currently locked in your cellar.
“Steve!” You rush over to his side.
He does a double take when he sees you. “Y/N? What are you doing here?”
“Well–”
“Are those for Mr. or Mrs. Wheeler?” Dustin now joins you two, pointing at the roses in the boy’s hand.
Steve looks between the two of you. “No…? You’re Dustin, right? Y/N’s brother?”
Dustin snatches the roses out of his hand. “Good, and yeah, I am.”
“Hey, what the hell?” Steve looks at you for help, but you know there’s no use trying to reason with your brother. He’s in a mood, similar to Steve, and you just sigh and follow Dustin. “Hey!”
“Nancy isn’t home.” Your brother informs Steve.
“Where is she?” Steve asks, and you hit his shoulder.
“I tried telling you over the phone!”
Dustin claps his hands at you to get your guys’ attention again. “It doesn’t matter where she is or if you tried to warn him, Y/N. We have bigger problems than your love lives.”
He’s at Steve’s car now and opens the passenger side door. “Do you still have that bat?”
Steve whips his head towards you. “Bat? What the hell is he talking about? Y/N, what are you guys doing here–”
“The one with the nails!” Dustin interrupts, exasperated.
Again Steve looks at you. “Why?”
“You’re not gonna like it,” you confess, and this only makes Steve feel worse.
“We’ll explain it on the way.” Dustin goes to sit in the passenger seat but he’s quickly stopped when you grab his hood and yank him out.
“No, absolutely not. I deserve the passenger seat, not you.”
Dustin slaps you away. “I got here first.”
“I was born first–”
“But I was literally about to sit down–”
“Hey!” Steve shouts, effectively shutting you and Dustin up. “It’s my car, and right now I currently only like Y/N, so she gets the passenger seat.”
“You like Y/N?” Dustin asks at the same time as you ask, “You like me?”
Steve rolls his eyes. “Yeah, barely. She’s on thin ice. But you, little Henderson? You just stole the flowers meant for my girlfriend, so backseat you go.”
“Yes!” You cheer, pumping your fist in the air as you flash Steve a smile. “Thanks, Harrington.”
He rounds the front of his car and opens the driver's side door. “Yeah, don’t get used to it. Like I said, you’re still on thin ice.”
He says it with annoyance in his voice, but you can see the smile he’s trying hard not to let slip, and you feel giddy. Steve obviously can’t be too mad at you if he wanted to talk later and is willingly letting himself be kidnapped by your brother.
Dustin, on the other hand, can’t believe any of this is happening. As soon as you’re all in the car he asks, “Since when did you two become friends?”
“I have a life outside of you and the boys, you know,” you tell him, but you avoid Steve’s gaze. It’s not like you intentionally hid this aspect of your life from Dustin, but… It also never came up, either.
“Sure ya do, but… Wait,” Dustin remembers something. “Oh my god, you have Steve Harrington’s number memorized?”
Your face heats up and Steve hides a smirk, but you see it anyway. You ignore his smugness and respond to your brother. “Like I said, I have a life outside of you.”
Dustin gapes at you. “I have so many questions–”
“I have an even better one: where am I taking you guys?” Steve asks, and suddenly you remember everything at stake.
“My house,” you tell him as you buckle up. He nods, although with some confusion, and then starts the engine. “You know how I called you earlier?”
“Yeah…?”
“Dustin, why don’t you tell Steve here what you found.”
Your brother sighs from the backseat. “A few days ago I found this… lizard of sorts.”
“A lizard.” Steve says, unimpressed.
“Oh, just wait,” you quip.
Dustin turns his head to glare at you and you give him a thumbs up. He scoffs at you before carrying on, “Yes, a lizard. I named him Dart and he was super cool, okay? I thought I had discovered a new species and that I would be super famous and better than everyone else.”
Steve glances at you next to him, raising his eyebrows and whistling low. “Wow, does humbleness run in your family, Y/N?”
“I’d say so, yeah.”
“Anyways,” Dustin interrupts, ignoring Steve’s laugh at your response. “Turns out, Dart is from the Upside Down.”
“The Upside Down?” Steve asks, extremely confused. He looks at you again in the mirror and it hits you that no one explained to him the events from last year. You assumed that Nancy would’ve, seeing as how they’ve been together for a while now and Steve had been with you guys at the hospital the night you brought Will back.
However, from his disbelief and confusion it’s clear that she hasn’t. If you had to guess, Steve probably went home that night and blocked out everything that had gone down with no questions asked.
You respect his repressing skills, honestly.
Dustin groans, beginning to grow impatient with Steve. “Yes, the Upside Down. If you have the bat still, how could you not know–”
“Do you remember that… thing we killed at Jonathan’s last year?” You cut your brother off before he can get too mean. You love the kid, you do, but he isn’t the kindest person when others aren't understanding him.
A dark look passes over Steve’s face and his fingers tighten around the steering wheel. It’s night now, and the atmosphere in the car becomes tense. “I remember.”
You clear your throat, “Well, this creature–”
“Demodog.” Dustin corrects from the backseat.
“Demodog?” You turn in your seat to face him. “That’s what we’re calling it now? Seriously?”
He shrugs. “It’s a baby demogorgon, it looks like a dog, so… Demodog.”
You pinch the bridge of your nose. “Alright. Okay. Whatever, this demodog is from the Upside Down. It’s this parallel universe, basically. Creepy shit happens there, and last year a monster–”
“The Demogorgon.” Dustin once more interrupts.
“Dustin, if you want to catch Steve up then for the love of god, please shut up.”
“Sorry,” he mumbles, embarrassed.
A smile tugs at Steve’s lips and you take a deep breath to calm yourself before continuing. “Look, I don’t know how much Nancy told you about that night at Jonathan’s, but all that you need to know is that the Demogorgon took Will last year and we had to fight it in order to save him.”
Steve nods slightly as he follows along, “Nancy mentioned something about a monster at the hospital… she told me it’s what killed Barb, but never told me it had a name.”
Another silence falls between you guys in the car. The mention of Barb brings back bad memories for you both. You had liked Barb, she had always been nice to you, you guess. Hawkins is a small town. Everyone knows everyone, and in the end the smallness of the town is what makes the Upside Down so hard. You lose people close to you, one way or another.
And as for Steve… The roses he bought for Nancy lay wilted in his backseat.
Dustin shifts uncomfortably in his seat, and your heart pangs in understanding. He misses El, and you do too. The closer it gets to the anniversary of her disappearance, the more you miss the sweet and caring girl; but you know that the boys, Mike especially, haven’t given up hope for her.
“So…” Steve motions for you guys to continue explaining, and Dustin sits up in his seat to begin again.
“So flash forward to now: I didn’t realize Dart was a demodog until he grew like three damn sizes bigger than when I found him. Y/N and I almost died trying to lock him in our cellar.”
“Wait, you guys have a cellar?”
Dustin rubs his face, “That’s what you focus on, Steve?”
“It’s a valid question–”
“Guys!” You lurch yourself forward and wave your hands around wildly to break up their bickering. “We really don’t have time for this. Can we please just focus on the task at hand? Dart has probably grown even more during the course of this stupid conversation.”
Your brother’s hand pushes your shoulder back so that you’re now once again sitting, and you swat him away with annoyance. “Y/N, I’m trying! Blame Steve, he’s the one asking stupid questions–”
Steve speaks up, “What the hell? They aren’t stupid questions–”
“Well…”
Steve shoots you an offended look, “Y/N, I thought you were on my side.”
Dustin scoffs, hurt. “She’s my sister, you idiot!”
“Again, we seriously don’t have time for this because, once more: Dart is getting really big.” Your voice is louder this time, and thankfully it shuts everyone up. Then, just because you can, you add, “and I’m on Steve’s side right now. He’s the one with the car, plus… Well, I owe him.”
Steve fist pumps the air. “Suck it, little Henderson.”
“Do not call me that,” Dustin threatens him, then turns his attention to you. “First Jonathan, now Steve? Can’t you befriend anyone I like?”
The mention of Jonathan gets Steve attention. “Wait a sec, where is the guy? You never actually told me where he and Nancy went, Y/N.”
You sigh, knowing there’s no use keeping anything else from him. He’s already driving you and Dustin home to help with Dart, and you did promise to tell him where they were later, but life seemingly got in the way. “They’re playing detective right now.”
“Detective?”
“Yeah, the guy Barb’s parents hired… They’re currently at his place, exposing Hawkin’s Lab.”
A tense silence follows. Steve stares straight ahead, eyes on the road, as his expressions morph from hurt, to reluctance, to eventual acceptance. “Nance didn’t think to ask me to join?”
His voice wavers, just a bit, but you hear it. Knowing that Dustin is watching from the back, you decide to forget any possible boundaries for once and grab Steve’s hand. He’s hurting. The car smells of roses and there’s no girl to give them to. “She tried, Steve.”
He swallows. There’s hurt in his eyes and you want to reach out and stroke his cheek and tell him that it isn’t his fault. “I know…”
“Ahem,” Dustin coughs, clearly uncomfortable with whatever is going on. “So… Back to Dart.”
You clear your own throat, but your hand remains wrapped around Steve’s, who nods. “Wait a sec, how big are we talking?”
Without meaning to, you close your eyes and brace for Dustin’s witty remarks, but he surprises you by answering with a demonstration and zero mockery. “First it was like that,” he opens his fingers a few inches before using both hands to show about a foot in length. “Now he’s like this.”
Steve still looks doubtful. “And you’re sure it isn’t some weird lizard?”
A headache begins to form and you pinch the bridge of your nose again. “It’s not a lizard, Steve.”
“Well how do you know?”
“Because his face opened up and he ate our cat.” Dustin says bluntly.
This seems to shut Steve up and he nods his head in defeat. It’s silent in the car for the remainder of the drive, and just before Steve parks in your driveway, he looks over at you and sees your eyes closed in pain, and before he knows it he squeezes your hand and says, “sorry about your cat, by the way.”
Despite the pounding in your head and your utter exhaustion, his words make you laugh. “Just park, Steve.”
He smiles, feeling proud for getting you to laugh, and does as he’s told. Before you know it you’re standing at his trunk, staring at the baseball bat that saved your life last year. Dustin has already gone over to the cellar, waiting for you and Steve to follow.
The bat stares back at you, and you shiver as the memories come back. Though you had tried your best to forget that night, that entire week, honestly, it’s been useless. The nightmares still haunt you. You obsessively research trauma in children now to compensate for your own guilt from last year.
“Why’d you keep the bat?” You ask as Steve grabs it, giving it a practice swing. Your own blades are out again and he eyes their gleam.
“It’s kinda sick, don’t ya think?” He swings it again. “I look badass with it.”
He’s dodging, but you sense that he kept the bat for the same reason as why you kept the switchblade. You’ve been waiting in fear for something else to happen. “You don’t look too bad with it.”
Steve blushes a bit, which your stomach flutters seeing. “I, uh… Guess we can’t have that talk tonight?”
“No, not unless we somehow manage to deal with Dart in a timely manner. However, if I recall, nothing ever goes our way.”
“Nope!” He closes the trunk and tosses you a flashlight. Then, he sticks his hand out for you to shake. “But for now… Truce?”
You giggle. “Truce.”
His hand is warm, and even though you had just been holding it in the car moments earlier, his touch still fills you with a gooey warmth that you’ve come to associate with him. As soon as you and him are alone, away from Dustin’s nosy ears, you’ll really apologize to Steve. He may be being nice to you now, but he’s still guarding himself from you.
You hate it. You miss how open he used to be with you.
“Ready to go re-live my nightmares?” Steve asks.
You give him a thumbs up as you start heading towards Dustin. “Always, let’s go.”
“Took you guys long enough.” Your brother mutters when you and Steve arrive at the cellar, weapons in hand. You flash him an apologetic smile while Steve simply ignores him.
Steve approaches the door and listens for a second, “I don’t hear shit.”
You frown and listen as well. He’s right, it’s eerily silent. You shoot Dustin a questioning look and he shrugs as well, “He’s in there.”
“Duh, I know that much, You almost knocked me out when you shoved past me to get Dart in there.” you remark, before softly adding “he’s gotta be in there.”
Your words don’t reassure Steve, who begins to use the tip of his bat to bang against the locked doors. When nothing happens, he bangs harder against them before sighing in annoyance.
“All right, listen kid.” Steve begins, and you start to rub small circles into your scalp in a vain attempt to lessen your headache, because you already know that the next words out of his mouth will start yet another fight. “I swear, if this is some sort of Halloween prank, you’re dead.”
“Steve…” He ignores you and stares down your brother, shining the flashlight directly at his face in what you assume is meant to be a threatening manner.
“It's not a prank,” Dustin tiredly replies, squinting his eyes against the light. “Get it out of my face.”
Steve complies, still hesitant about the situation at hand, and turns to face you. “You got a key to this thing?”
You nod and fish the keys from out of your pocket and unlock the cellar doors. Steve bends down to investigate, and without him having to ask, you hand him the flashlight and step forward so that you’re next to him.
He flashes the light down the stairs and all that the three of you can see is darkness. An uneasy feeling creeps over you. Something isn’t right, but you really hope that you’re wrong.
“He has to be further down,” you say, more so to reassure yourself than the others.
Dustin shuffles his feet next to you and says, with an extremely unconvincingly “brave” voice, “I’ll stay up here in case he tries to… escape.”
Both you and Steve look at him in disbelief. Dustin stands his ground, however, and looks at the two of you expectantly. Steve shakes his head while you sigh in defeat. Your brother is such a pain sometimes.
“You do realize that if Dart eats me, you’ll have to deal with mom all by yourself, right?” You ask him.
The boy shrugs at you. “That’s a risk I’m willing to take, Y/N.”
“Yeah, love you too.” You mumble, before you begin to follow Steve down the steps.
“I’ll be thinking of you!” Dustin calls out, his voice echoing against the cellar walls.
You trail behind Steve, and the flashlight he brought does nothing to illuminate the dark area, so it’s a relief when he reaches above his head to turn the light on. As your eyes adjust to the light change, you scan the room to find the missing demodog. However, all your eyes land on is a long, thin sheet of film on the ground that you can only assume is molted skin.
“Oh, shit…” you breathe out. “This isn’t good.”
Steve picks the skin up with the tip of his bat and examines it and shakes his head. “Please tell me this isn’t Dart.”
“Actually, it’d be easier if it was him.”
Steve doesn’t laugh at your joke; he continues to look around the room before his eyes widen. You turn your head to see what’s caught his attention, and when you spot the problem, your knees weaken.
There’s a giant, Dart-sized hole in your cellar wall.
“Steve? Y/N? What’s going on down there?” Dustin’s voice carries down to you guys, and you and Steve share a nervous glance.
“Dustin…” You call up to him, your voice weaker than you’d prefer. You wish you could be braver for him at the moment, but right now it takes everything within you not to crawl into bed and shut the world out. Why did it always have to be giant monsters?
While you’re reeling, Steve walks over to the bottom of the steps and flashes his light at Dustin, instructing him to come down. Once the boy has joined you guys, Steve guides the light to his bat so that Dustin can see the skin.
“Oh, shit.”
“Funnily enough, that’s what your sister said, too.”
Then Steve shines the light to where the hole in the wall is, and you watch Dustin’s face go from concerned to horrified. “Oh, shit!”
The three of you crouch closer to the hole, and when Steve shines the flashlight through it, your heart stops and you gasp, “It’s a tunnel.”
“No way… Dustin says in awe.
It’s hard to see exactly how deep the tunnel goes, but something tells you that there’s more to it than meets the eye. This wouldn’t be some simple fix like you had desperately hoped it would be.
Now you really, really wish Jonathan were here. And Nancy. Definitely Nancy.
But they aren’t. This time, you’re on your own with only Steve and Dustin by your side. No one else in the party is available, you don’t even know where they are or if they’re even safe, but right now that doesn’t matter.
What matters is that Dart has escaped.
And it’s happening again.
Everything you’ve tried so hard for the last year to ignore, to move on and pretend never happened to you, has come crashing back into your life.
Steve, seeing your apprehension, grabs your hand and pulls you in close. “Hey, we’ll figure it out. I’ll be here, okay?”
Even though you don’t deserve his kindness, his sincerity, you believe him.

"The Tell-Tale Heart"
Okay so I want to preface this that I have not read much Edgar Allen Poe so I will be missing those layers in my perspective, but anyways something that really struck me in "The Tell-Tale Heart" episode of The Fall of The House of Usher was the moments after Victorine throws the book end at Ali.
Before this, we're presented with this version of Victorine who may be stressed and pressured but ultimately does not actively appear to be amoral. She's just being put in a bad position by her shit father; she wants to do good and develop a life-saving medical device, and she just has to cut corners to stay afloat. It's only Camille who seems convinced Victorine is some awful person.
Tumblr media
Then, the bookend. Another cut corner. Instead of talking things out with Ali or being patient, she acts impulsively and immediately to stop the problem. It's just like the first time she dosed the chimpanzee with epinephrine during surgery in a panic when she realized the device wasn't working. She hits Ali in the head and, on realizing the severity of her actions, runs over to her.
Ali is bleeding out on the floor, her body writhing horribly and she lets out these awful choked noises. Victorine goes to her and seems immediately horrified and brokenhearted. Then, the security guard checks in through the door. The guard is concerned over the scuffling noises overheard.
And Victorine fucking says to him, "Have you never heard a woman getting eaten out before?"
Her girlfriend is dying by her hand, and she pretends the sounds of her dying are the noises of sexual pleasure. This to me is the reveal, this is when the audience truly sees that Victorine does not have and never had a heart. The love she's shown, for her passion, her girlfriend, her device, is nothing more than mistaken greed. It's a mechanical heartbeat, it sounds almost like a heartbeat, but it's a pale imitation to anyone who pays attention. And like with Ali's corpse, the mechanical heart of Victorine is just keeping a soulless body alive.
The Fall of the House of Usher structurally represents the family itself: it begins with the announcement of the deaths of all the children. The children are dead from the beginning of the show. And as Annabel points out, the children in the story were dead from the start, killed by greed and wealth. And then we learn that they were literally dead, as Roderick and Madeline had already sold their lives for wealth before they were even born. We're not seeing the family die, we're seeing the final moments of corpses decomposing. We're seeing the dilapidated house finally collapse. The Fall of the House of Usher is not about death, it's about the walking dead, like the visions of Roderick. A family kept alive with a mechanical device just going through the motions.

(I didn’t find any info if your askbox is closed or not, if you are not taking up requests you can ignore this!)
But hi :) how are you? how you are doing well
this is a bit personal, but would you mind doing either a Headcanon or scenario with reader x turtles (romantic/crush stage) with a…Hopeless reader? Kinda someone who had to tell themselves that love isn’t on their life journey and that seriously bother them? Lol
this weekend I’m gonna attend a friends wedding, while meeting with some shared friends before the wedding, one of them quoted corpse bride’s scene “to Emily, always the bridesmaid, never the bride” for me (most of my friends are married or dating long term), usually I handle the lack of a love life fairly well (by not thinking about it or just making jokes about it lol) but tonight it kinda really bothered me, a lot.) a lot of my friends treat me being single as something I don’t out efforts in it? But holy shit I do, and it really hurts to see them saying or acting like I’m not doing enough? Anyways. I guess the request would be how the turtles would react to a reader who kinda just lost hope, who agrees with the quote even if it makes her very sad? Kinda trying to wing the night lowkey but turtles can sense it hurt her (maybe Vern said the quote lol, or something similar… that’s something stupid enough for the falcon to do 😅)
I hope makes sense, if not I apologize for the messy ask. Have a good day / night
I'm sorry that happened. Your friends definitely need to stfu about that lol dating and relationships are fun, but nobody NEEDS them. If they need a RELATIONSHIP to feel fulfilled, they have shit to figure out.
Definitely been there tho. And being single can be horrible. I see you
Scene: Your turtle has been secretly pining for you for a while now. Hasn't got the guts to say anything yet.
TMNT x Lonely Reader
Leo
- He could sense your reaction instantly, despite how well you hid it.
- Your micro expressions, the slight but sudden shift of your bodyweight away from Vern- Leo almost didn't catch that you had smiled and laughed at the comment.
- His own reaction was visceral and overwhelming, at least it was to him.
-He remained still by your side, but the urge to...he didn't even know. Hide you. Push hard at Verns shoulder- something.
-Geez. He hadn't felt like this since he was a child. Like he could protect his little brothers or you from judgment or cruelty.
-He couldn't.
-He sucked in a breath through his nose, scrambling for self-control; watching you handle the interaction like an adult. Forcing himself to as well.
-But it did satisfy him to see that Vern physically felt his animosity. The guy took once glance at Leo before he instantly stuttered an excuse to walk to another conversation.
-"Vern is an idiot." Leo scratched out, desperate to keep what he really wanted to say to you at a minimum. "There's absolutely nothing wrong with you."
-You seemed surprised at that, glancing up at him. But your quite, sincere smile made it it worth it.
Raph
- "Always the brides maid, never the bride, huh?"
- "What?" It was a reactive response. Before you could even register what he had said, or the sudden amount of hurt- or embarrassment you felt.
- Raph had turned wide, expectant eyes on Vern as well, something Vern noticed instantly.
- "Well, yunno." Vern stutteres, trying to stay focused on you. "I've seen ya at these events a lot but you never bring a guy around...or-"
-"See that girl over there?" Raph suddenly said, leaning down a little to point your gaze in the right direction.
- "Yeah." You said quietly.
-"Who's that girl, Vern?"
-Vern looked back at you guys, shrugging and putting his hands back in his pockets with an air of pride. "She's my girlfriend."
-Raph smirked, his voice somehow both condescending and unusually soft. "Vern met her a week ago. That makes her..." Raph trailed off, looming back into his full height, towering over Vern. "The sixth one this year, right. Makin' you real good at givin' advice to pretty girls, Falcon boy. Careful with that."
-"Jesus. I'm just- I'll be over there." Vern sighed, awkwardly stepping aside then walking out of sight.
- Raph said nothing, instead turning to you. "You alright?"
-You were desperate not to say everything you wanted to. "Much better." You said instead, looking up at him. Hoping the softness you saw there was a reflection of what you felt for him too.
Donnie
- Donnie couldn't even react or register the words before you were handling it. Shrugging and waving Vern off.
-He was horrified. His eyes were glued to Vern, completely confused that the guy had missed how rude of a statement that was.
-The conversation came and went, and while he had a wonderful time, he was entirety focused on you.
-While you didn't seem MISERABLE, you were different. Something had obviously changed. And it was Verns fault.
-You had no reason to feel pressure of that kind. You were perfect the way you were! No one should ever, ever, ever make you feel anything less.
-The thought that you did made him physically sick to his stomach.
-He might not have caught it in time to say anything in the moment.
-But Verns apartment locks, car, computer, and bathroom pipes all giving him a hard time all in the next 24 hours?
-A complete and utter mystery...
Mikey
-"Yeah you should listen to him." Mikey said.
-Shock coursed through you. "What?" You looked at him, wide eyed, heart in your throat- "W- I should-"
-"You should listen to him." Mikey repeated, noding solumley, starting to confidently strole around Vern. "This guy has fantastic dating advise. You don't even know, girl. Look at him!" Mikey's smile was as bright as the sun, gesturing to Vern as if he was a plater he was showing off to you.
-"He's been on this earth so long, his life experience exceeds our very comprehension, girl."
-Vern made a sudden puzzled expression while yours melted quickly into a smile.
-"He's got recipes too. Qualifications, evidence, the whole nine yards. Guy has like- twelve grand kids-"
-"I- C'mon, Mike-" Vern was catching on.
-"Ohhh.. yeah, that's right. No grandkids. But he does have a wife. They just had their fiftieth anniversary-!"
-"I'm not that o- He's joking with you." Vern tried to explain. "I'm not married."
-Mikey snapped his fingers as he had remembered something, suddenly getting much, MUCH closer in Verns personal space.
-"Oh yeah, that's right. You're not married. I forget that your on, like, your sixth girlfriend this month. Maybe actual advise sounds like..."
-Mikey stepped away from Vern, standing infront of you. "Keep those standards up, girl. Pretty face like yours? You could have anyone you want."
-You couldn't stop smiling.

You poured the salt on the corpse. You cracked a match and threw it on the body. Flames engulfed the bones. You stood there for a little while longer. The poor girl had not stood a chance. Her family had been horrible to her. Put her through torture. And that was decades ago. She had no reasons to remain amongst the living, no reasons to haunt them. They weren’t the one who had hurt her and yet, she still wanted revenge. Blinded by her rage, the spirit had killed the people that had lived in her mansion over the years. Some were classified as natural deaths, and others as freak accidents. With so many deaths in one mansion over the years. All happening at a specific time of the years, you had to check it out.
It was a run of the mill hunt. Quite easy. You threw your bags in the trunk of your car, and climbed in the driver’s seat. Your goal was to get out of town as quick as possible, to disappear. You drove through the night. You wanted to get to your small flat as quick as possible.
Your two bedrooms apartment was your refuge. You could go there and recuperate for a few days. You loved hunting, you really did but you sometimes needed a break from it. Adding to the dangerous nature of the job, and the constant near death experiences, it was also draining. And rarely, was it ever rewarding. But that was not why you were doing it. You truly believed that everyone in this life was born with a purpose. There were people born to be doctors, or cops, or even firemen. And some were born to be hunters. That was you.
One fateful night, you found out that monsters were real. Everything that went bumping into the night, the monsters under the bed, the witches, vampires, werewolves, they were all real. That fateful night was also the start of your aversion for woods, camping and wendigos. You hated all three of those things, and you avoided them at all cost. But it had not deterred you from getting into the life. After finding out about them being real, you could not just ignore it. You could not keep living your life as though nothing had happened. As though you knew nothing of monsters and of the people that hunted them.
So, you became one yourself.
The sounds of gunfire welcomed you as you pushed your door open. And the voice of your youngest brother swearing at the television followed. You pushed your door closed behind you with a tired sigh. Sure, you had texted him to let him know that you would soon be back. But you had not expected him to be there still.
“That’s not why I left you a key, you know?” You said dropping your bags by the door, after you locked it.
He put down the controller on the coffee table. “Your plant is taken care of.” He shrugged turning to you. “You look awful.”
“Thanks.” You answered dryly. You dropped your keys on your dinner table, and moved to your kitchen. “Want a beer?”
“Yeah,” He got up and followed you into your kitchen. “So, how was it?”
“Matt—”
“Come on, you can tell me.” He leaned on the counter behind him.
“I don’t want to tell you.” You shook your head. “I’m not talking about it with you or anyone else.”
“Why not?”
“Because—we are talking about hunting monsters. And I don’t want any of you into the life.” You moved back into your living room. “And what the hell are you still doing here anyway? Don’t you have a girlfriend to go back to?”
“Just wanted to make sure, you were alright before I left.” He shrugged.
You smiled fondly at him. “That’s so sweet.” You cooed at him, pinching his cheek. He swatted it away.
“Stop.”
You snorted. “I’m alright, not injured. So, you can go back to your girlfriend.” You slapped his shoulder.
“you’re sure?”
“I’m sure.” You nodded. “Go.”
“Alright, call if you need anything.”
“I won’t.” You called after him. “And don’t call me for the next few days, please.”
“I will.” He walked and locked behind him.
You spent the next few days locked up in your apartment. True to his words, your brother called you. But you really did not mind. Your youngest brother only wanted to make sure that you were taken care off. After all, you were living alone while he and your two other siblings had people to come home to.
Building relationships with anyone had never been easy for you. Especially romantic ones. Something always went wrong. You felt as though you were giving more than you were receiving. You always thought that you were not understood as you did them. And instead of expressing those things, you kept quiet. You let things go, hoping they would solve themselves. And ultimately, it would lead to break-up.
You never stayed home too long. You gave yourself a few days off, away from hunting and monsters, before going back into the fray. It wasn’t surprising to find you back on the road within days. And you always let your brother know when you did.
Out of all your siblings, he was the closest to you. The one that truly worried about you and made sure you were alright and taken care of, when you were home. And to think both of you hated each other growing up, was just laughable now. You knew you had failed him when you were younger. Always siding with your parents, trying your best to keep peace within your family. It had put a strain on your relationship with your siblings over the years.
Tumblr media
“Agent Prentiss, FBI.” You flashed your fake FBI badge to the officer on the scene.
“Officer Davis.” He introduced himself. His eyes inevitably landed on your cleavage area.
Your white buttoned-down shirt was a little tight around your breast, you had left a couples of buttons undone. Which was giving him a glimpse of it
“What brings the FBI into this neck of the wood?” Davis said, clearing his throat.
You smirked as you caught him ogling at your cleavage. “The bureau has taken an interest into the recent strings of death that has been happening lately.”
“There’s nothing interesting in a couple of animal attacks.” Davis scoffed.
“True but these are quite unusual.” You pointed out. "Hearts missing. And nothing else. Doesn't really sound like an animal to me."
“Look, it’s better if people think it’s an animal.” Davis said quietly to you. “We don’t want them to panic while there’s a killer on the loose.”
“I completely understand your situation, trust me.” You told him. “I’m only here to help you. Maybe, a set of fresh eyes may help you see things a little clearer.” He seemed to hesitate. “I don’t want to step on your toes, here. I really do want to stop the killings. So, let me help you.”
You looked up at him. He ran a hand on the back of his neck. Hesitating on letting you in the investigation.  He looked around you, the crowd at the edge of the crime scenes, the journalist looking for sensational news. Clearly, he was at a loss. He needed to provide answers to the victims’ family.
The killing spree had started a few days ago. It was pretty gruesome. Dead bodies had been found recently; their hearts had been ripped out. For you, it was quite an easy hunt. It was clearly werewolves. The deaths started with the full moon, and their hearts were missing.
“What can you tell me about the victim?”
“Young woman, early twenties,” He cleared his throat. He started to lead you toward the victim, where the Medical Examiner was getting a look at the victim. “She was found by a couple of joggers.”
You raised a skeptical eyebrow to him. “People jog in this area?”
“Yeah, there’s a short trail that go into the woods for a few miles, before it cuts back into the park over there.” He gestured over your shoulder.
You looked over your shoulders briefly, and did a double take when you recognized a couple of familiar faces. “You have got to be kidding me.” You said under your breath.
“What was that?” Officer Davis asked you.
“It seems there was a mix up at the bureau.” You smiled tightly at Davis. “Anyway—” You turned to the M.E. “Anything you can tell me on the cause of death?”
The M.E. looked to the leading officer for approval. The latter nodded at her. “Same as the others.” She said, moving the head of the young woman to the side. “No apparent defensive wounds, she was hit over the head. Same spot as the others,” her hands left her head and went to victim’s wrists. “Ligature marks, and of course her heart’s missing.”
It looked like a werewolf kill alright. Although, the ligatures marks did not make much sense to you. Neither did the head trauma. Werewolves were pretty strong creatures and this seemed to indicate that they needed to restrain the victim before the kill, but why?
You turned around to see Dean and Sam Winchester were walking up to you. You excused yourself and met the brothers halfway. Dean looked a little peeved by your presence there. You approached them under his glare. You really did not get why he was mad about you being there. And you didn’t care.
“Winchesters, we meet again.” You said as a form of greeting.
Sam smiled down at you. “It’s good to see you.” Dean scoffed at that.
“Not everybody agrees.” Your eyes drifted to Dean briefly before you returned your attention on Sam.
“You’re not working the case.” Dean said and you glanced up at him confused.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means you’re not working the case.” Dean then gestured between him and Sam. “We are.”
You scoffed in disbelief. “I already have an in with the officers. I got this under control. You can sit this one out. You do look like you need some rest, you look tired.” You patted his shoulder; and he recoiled from your touch.
“I don’t need rest.” He pointed an angry finger under your nose. “And really?!” Dean’s eyebrows went up into his hairline. “You got this under control?”
“Yeah, I do.” You nodded.
“So, you have it all figured out already?” Dean questioned, clearly hostile.
“I mean, yeah.” You shrugged. “Dead bodies, heart’s missing. I’d say—werewolves.”
“You don’t know that for sure.”
“And you do?”
“How can you be so sure it’s werewolves?” He questioned.
“Because it makes sense.” You argued back. “What else could it be?”
“Skinwalker.” He shrugged smugly.
“Please.” You scoffed. “You’re just pulling something out of your ass.”
“Dean’s right.” Sam sighed. “It could be a skinwalker. We don’t know that for sure.”
“We do.” You retorted. “It’s a full moon.”
“It won’t matter if it’s a skinwalker.” Dean shook his head.
“Alright.” You snapped at him. “I’ll take that in consideration. Thank you for your help. Go home.”
You turned away from Dean and stomped to your car. You were angry with him, now. He was talking to you as though you didn’t know how to do your job.
Dean grabbed your arm, stopping you on your way to your car. “Listen, kid—“ You looked between him and the grip he had on your arm. “You could barely handle a vampire hunt on your own and now you want to take on werewolves?” You ripped your arm out of his grip. “You should really leave this one to us.”
“First, not a kid. Never was.” You replied. “Second, I called for help because I had never hunted vampires before.” You walked closer to him and jabbed a finger in his chest. “I know how to handle myself on a hunt. Not that’s any of your business, Winchester. I don’t need you or your brother, I can take care of this.”
You turned around and ripped the door to the driver’s seat open, before slamming it shut. And peeled out of there. How dared he? He treated you as though you were an amateur. This wasn’t your first rodeo; you knew how to hunt. You weren't new to this job. You should have reminded him that you saved his life on this vampire hunt. Had he forgotten?
You couldn’t care less if he stayed in town or if he left. You would just proceed with the hunt. Whether it was a werewolf or Skinwalker; as they suggested; you’d kill it and be out of town. After all, it was an easy enough hunt.
Tumblr media
As you’d soon find out, they, in fact, did not leave town. You crossed path with them at the diner. You sent a glare Dean’s way as you walked up to one of the empty booths. You were determined to ignore Dean Winchester and his brother. You were determined to show them that you could handle yourself, and take care of it all on your own.
You didn’t need them. You had never needed anyone.
You sat alone in your booth and ate your lunch while reviewing the victims’ files. They all had been found by the trail near the small wooded area. Heart’s missing, ligatures marks, slight head trauma. The heart being ripped out, indicated a werewolf kill but the ligatures marks and the head trauma suggested something different. You didn’t understand why they were there. Why did they tie up the victims?
There was only one way to find out but you did not like it. You had an aversion for the wooded areas by night. More than anything. However you were a hunter and sometimes, you had to do what you had to do. So, you traded your FBI pantsuit for dark jeans that hugged your large hips and thick thighs perfectly. You traded your dress shirt for a tie-dye crop top that showed a sliver of your skin, and the stretchmarks that peeked out of your waistband. Scars that you had gained over the years as your body changed. It had grown and suffered. It wasn’t slim or thin, it was curvy and big. You had large hips, thick and plushy thighs, a large breast. You loved your body and you had learned to flaunt it.
Flaunting your assets was not what you were going to do tonight. Anyone who knew you, would tell you it was the worst idea you’d ever had. Especially knowing your aversion for the woods at night time. Garth would advise you to ask the Winchesters, since they were in town, to accompany you. And in retrospect, you probably should have. But he didn’t need to know about that.
Tumblr media
“Son of a gun!” You breathed out shakily. You tightened your dark green flannel and your thick jacket around your torso.
You were too stubborn to ask for help when you should. But asking for help was like admitting weakness. And you refused to appear weak in front of Dean Winchester. He already thought you were incapable. You didn’t want him to think of you as weak. You were not going to give him the satisfaction.
Your fingers were tight around your lamp torch. Your heart beating wildly beneath your ribcage. Every breath you took was shaky. Everything in you was screaming at you to run. To go to safety. But you were a hunter. You needed to put an end to the killings. You needed to take care of the werewolf. Or the skinwalker.
Crunch. You froze. Crunch. You pulled out your gun. Crunch. A snort. You knew it wasn’t human. You took another shaky breath. A failed attempt to steady yourself. Your feet remained rooted to the ground. As the sounds were coming closer to your position. You needed to move. And fast.
When your body finally obeyed your brain, it was already too late. You had barely moved when the beast pounced on you. You let out a scream as you landed on your back. The wind got knocked out of you. Your gun flew away from you.
There you were, defenseless. And alone.
Yellow eyes staring into yours. Bared fangs as it snarled at you. Its breath was hot on your face. You did not wish to die here. Alone. Away from your family. This seemed much too familiar to you. A feeling of déjà-vu. You hated it. You hated the woods. You hated that monster breathing down on your face.
A shot rang. Its head snapped up to the sound. Two tall figures were rushing to your aid. You could have sobbed with relief at seeing them. But you weren’t out of the woods yet. No pun intended.
Its snarled at them. They fired their guns again.  The creature fled as fast as they could. Sam rushed to your aid while Dean pursued the monster.
“Hey,” He helped you up. “You okay?”
You nodded quickly. You were still shaken up. This was too close. You could have died tonight. All of that because you weren’t prepared. Because you wanted to prove something. You screwed up. You clenched your fists repeatedly. You just wanted for your hands to stop shaking. If they could only stop shaking.
“What the hell do you think you were doing?” Dean snapped at you, once he came back.
“What?”
“We were tracking it down and now it’s gone.” He continued. “You screwed it all up.”
“Dean.” Sam put a hand on his brother’s chest.
“Excuse you!” You snapped back at him. “I screwed up? I was being attacked.”
“Yeah, and whose fault is that?”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means you don’t know what you’re doing, princess.” Dean stepped closer to you, glaring down at you. “I don’t know how you survived this long on your own, but it won’t last much longer if you keep pulling stupid stunts like that. Leave this to us before you get yourself killed.”
What he said wasn’t untrue. You could have gotten yourself killed tonight. It was reckless to go in before truly knowing what was behind the attacks. Although, that was unfair of him to say. You didn’t set out to be attacked or get yourself killed. You were only trying to do your job. You were a hunter and this was what hunters do. This was what they were doing. So, why was it okay for them to do but not for you?
No one believed in you. No matter how hard you tried they still thought you were uncapable. You had met hunters like him before. Doubting you and your skills. You were too soft, they said. You scared too easy, they said. However, you had proven to them that you knew what you were doing. You had proven to them that you got the job done.
You glared back at him. “Like you care.” You wanted to sound harsh, angry. You wanted him to know that you won’t let him get to you. But that wasn’t how it sounded coming out of your mouth.
You sounded tired and defeated. No one would care if you did die. Not the Winchesters. Not even your own family. Those words had always been floating in your brain for years. After all, you had done so many things for so many people. So many things that went unnoticed. Of course, if you were to disappear. No one would notice the difference. They didn’t need you. Not as much as you needed them. You felt the tears pressed against your eyes.
You would not give him the satisfaction to see you cry, on top of everything else. So, you turned around and walked away from the Winchesters. You heard Sam called you but you ignored him.
You needed to get away from the woods. You needed to get away from Dean.

REASONS — HAITANI RINDŌ
content: fem!reader, established relationship, tenjiku arc spoilers. word count: 1,5k.
summary: rindō teaches his girlfriend to fight.
Tumblr media
You’re going to kill him.
“C’mon! That's the best you’ve got?”
You're certainly going to kill him, spit on his corpse and leave him to the mercy of the crows.
“I’m trying!” You spat trying to free yourself from his grip, you knew he wasn't using his full strength to keep from hurting you, but you were so tired that you couldn't find the energy to even really try. “Don’t piss me off, I can bite your ass from here, you know?”
Surprisingly he burst out laughing, “Don’t do that, feels weird.”
“Somebody did it before?”
“Don’t ask.”
“You know what? Let me go.”
He chuckled before releasing your poor arm, you closed your eyes and remained lying on the floor trying to catch your breath.
“You were supposed to take me down, doll.”
It was the twelfth time you tried to 'take him down', but failed, he always managed to dodge you and it was you who ended up with an awkward lock of your limbs—which was ten times softer than he would do to a real opponent, by the way—.
“Sometimes I really hate you, you know?” You managed to say between your gasps.
“You love me.”
You couldn't help but smile, “Unfortunately.”
Rindou had been insisting for weeks on teaching you jiujitsu, you had refused because you knew how passionate he could be when it came to training. But after many pleas and bambi eyes you agreed only after making him promise to go easy on you.
If this was going easy, what was serious training like?
Morning runs. Goodbye greasy food. Hello two hours at the gym. Set after set of exercises you never knew existed. The damn burpees. You insist, how was that going easy?
You remember complaining to him that you had agreed only to learn to fight and not to full training, but he replied that to fight you needed the physical condition. God have mercy.
However, he seemed so excited that you didn’t have the heart to give up. You tried to look on the bright side and think that maybe it wasn't so bad, you were learning a martial art, exercising and eating healthy; but at times like this, with your body sweaty and sore plus the frustration of not being able to beat him, you just wanted to put an end to this kind of modern torture.
“Doll, you still alive?” Rindou asked and you opened your eyes to find your boyfriend standing with his legs beside your hips and his hands stretched out towards you.
“Sadly.” You sighed and took his hands accepting his help to stand up. “I think you forget that I don't have the same stamina as you.”
“But you did amazing.” He said handing you your water bottle which you instantly opened to drink what was left in it. “Keep it up and before you know you'll be breaking my bones.”
“That sounds tempting.”
“Right?” He took the bottle from your hands when you finished and put it back in its place, “Wanna do one last try?”
You quickly shook your head, resting your hands on your knees to catch your breath, “I think I gave my all for today.”
Your boyfriend clicked his tongue and squeezed your cheeks with both hands, forming a pout on your face, “Just once.”
“Rindou, I’m tired—”
“I’ll let you drive.”
“Okay, but just once.” You said as you straightened up.
You ignored his triumphant smile as you took up position in front of him, mentally preparing yourself to meet the ground again.
But— surprisingly, when you ran and wrapped your arms around him to knock him down, the ease with which you succeeded puzzled you, forgetting the next step to lock his joints, so you just ended up falling on top of his body.
“Oh fuck, you okay?” You asked looking at his face, which had a smile on it.
“I’m okay.” Your boyfriend cupped your cheeks again as he did before, “Well, this deserves a prize, you made me fall, doll.”
“Not as planned.”
“But you succeeded anyway.”
You frowned straight into his eyes for a moment before sighing with realization, “You let me win.”
Rindou snorted, “Of course not.”
“You’re a terrible liar.” You stated earnestly and your boyfriend rolled his eyes playfully, “But thanks, I guess.”
Maybe he didn’t want you to feel bad, or maybe he felt some guilt about how hard you had trained today and he hadn’t given you a chance to win, who knows, but you couldn’t deny that his action filled you with tenderness. You had a soft spot for your boyfriend, you had to admit.
But that doesn’t change the fact that you’re going to punish him for putting you through such a hell in this gym today. How? You don’t know, maybe not giving him head for a week or two will be enough.
His hands moved down from your cheeks to your hips as you sat on his lap.
“You look good in these shorts, you know?”
You rolled your eyes and grabbed him by the wrists to push away his hands that were beginning to caress you inappropriately. “We’re in public, perv.”
You weren’t surprised when he laughed. His laughter was somewhat contagious, so you had to stifle your smile to stand your ground.
“I know, sorry, sorry.” He said taking your hips hard to push himself forward and sit up, stealing a kiss on your lips in the process. “Let’s go.”
After you changed in the locker room, Rindou put his arm around your shoulders as he said goodbye to the gym owner before leaving. You had to walk a bit since his motorcycle was parked two blocks away because there was no parking nearby when you arrived.
“I still don’t know why this is necessary.” You suddenly said in the middle of the comfortable silence. You crossed your arms and looked at him with a half smile waiting for his response.
“What?” He asked while spinning the keys with his finger.
“Teaching me how to fight.”
He withdrew his arm over your shoulders to intertwine his hand with yours, “It never hurts to know how to defend yourself, doll.”
“Well, you have a point.” You admitted caressing his knuckles. “What I mean is— you were very insistent about teaching me. Why?”
“I don’t need a reason.”
“But you look like you have one more specific than seeing me in athletic shorts or spending time together.” He let out a chuckle, squeezing your hand tighter as you crossed the street. “Be honest.”
He flicked your forehead, “You can really see through me, huh?”
“It’s my job as your girlfriend.” You saw him lick his lips and focus his gaze on the ground, you knew he was hesitating, so you encouraged him, “C’mon tell me.”
“It’s really corny.”
“Rin…”
“Well— a few months ago I was thinking, what if someone wants to hurt you and I’m not around to protect you? The streets aren’t that safe, someone could mug you or try to take advantage of you.”
Your heart was melting, could you love him any more? The answer is yes.
“But then I thought of something worse.” You watched as he clenched his jaw, “What if someone tries to hurt you because of me?”
“Why would anyone try that?”
“You know why. You’re dating the Rindou Haitani.” He said cockily, pointing his finger at himself.
“Rindou, you are a gang member, not a yakuza.” You joked, stopping your steps when you were in front of the motorcycle.
“We don’t know what the future has in store for us.” Well, he’s not wrong. “And gang members can be cruel too.”
“You right.” You remembered what happened to Izana and Muto, and with that in mind, Rindou’s words made a lot of sense.
“If anyone dares to lay a finger on you, I’ll break every single bone in their body.” In fact, he did it before, not to that extreme, but he did break the arm of a guy who tried to take a picture under your skirt— so you knew he wasn’t kidding. “But I know I can’t always be with you, the least I can do is teach you how to fight.”
“Well, he would have to be someone very stupid if he wants to hurt the girlfriend of the Rindou Haitani.” You mimicked his gesture by pointing to yourself before kissing his cheek. “Thanks for telling me, I’ll train hard to break the bones of anyone who crosses my path.”
Although you were already imagining that the level of torture would increase, you were willing to make the effort for the sake of your boyfriend's intentions. However, he won’t be getting any head for two weeks. That's a fact.
Rindou squeezed your cheek before saying, “That’s my girl.”
You smiled and stretched out your hand, “Now give me the keys, I’ll drive.”
He seemed to have forgotten your previous agreement since he widened his eyes, you knew he wasn’t a big fan of the idea of letting you drive, but too late— you had already snatched the keys from him and got on the bike.
Your boyfriend sighed in defeat before sitting behind you, “Just don’t run a red light again, please.”

I've always loved how committed Timmy was to finding Tecna and thinking about it sent me on a long path of thoughts and I landed on this: how do you think the specialists +Nabu would react if they thought their girlfriend was killed?
Not well!!! Thank you for the Ask :D
Sky: idk if Sky or Brandon would be able to sense Bloom and Stella like Timmy was able to do for Tecna so I'm just gonna assume no bc everyone below them can. I feel like he wouldn't believe it???? Bloom was killed? No she wasn't. Shut up. Like it's half denial and half "have you seen the bullshit magic she's capable of??" It would take Bloom's actual corpse to convince him she was actually dead or a REALLY convincing illusion he could touch. Then he's all fucking sad. Sky is a mom friend so he's going in between extreme sadness and trying to end the person who did this
Brandon: Anyone else except me and Jester notice how Brandon was the most calm at Nabu's funeral???? I feel like he'd have the least worse reaction, not in the sense that he's not upset but in the sense that he has the best handle on his emotions. Like he still gets VERY upset and wants revenge but he's not gonna fucking go berserk and cause problems like Helia and Riven would. He IS still going to try and stab whoever did that to Stella though, he's just going to be slightly smarter about it. I feel like he'd also try and get everyone else to be more careful, around the threat, not himself tho. My Brandon has magic but idk if he'd b able to sense Stella bc his Erakylon tutors wouldn't focus on stuff like that
Timmy: I won't type on this one long because well we know he can't be convinced Tecna's dead unless she's actually dead bc magic, but if he actually thought she was killed he wouldn't try to attack the thing that killed her, he'd try to retrieve and protect her body. Timmy is one of the few people who can keep a level head when upset, including Brandon, and is willing to let the magic people do the magic fighting and stay out of their way (Brandon is also smart enough to know he's not much of a help but is confident in his skills enough that he knows he CAN still help tho)
Riven: Timmy knows Tecna is alive bc it's sorta implied that he can kinda sense her magic?? Like he says he can still feel her, and I'm assuming that means her magic. Anyways you know how Riven could still sense Darcy in s2 after they broke up???? Riven couldn't be convinced Musa was dead unless she actually was dead. He can feel very a lot more strongly than Timmy can feel Tecna I imagine bc he could still sense Darcy's presence after they broke up, so it would be stupid hard to convince him she was dead. If you did somehow manage this he'd attempt to get revenge and then immediately collapse with depression since revenge was gotten. He doesn't handle things well in general, and that's like. The light of his life. His person. He'd literally stop functioning if she was dead
Helia: You'd think bc Helia actually has magic his ability to sense Flora would be stronger, but like it's not terrible but it would be as vague as Timmy's is in canon bc he never uses it. In my hcs it would be better bc he goes to CT and actually uses his magic more often, but he'd still be doing worse than like Nabu, who is a lot better at magic. Helia has a tendency to lash out when Flora is in danger so I think if he genuinely thought she was dead for any amount of time he would be going full war path until he realizes she's alive. When he does realize, bc it will take him a second, he immediately calms down and starts putting together a plan to help Flora
Nabu: he would not think Aisha was dead unless she was actually dead, same reasons as everyone else but his magic is stronger so he'd be the hardest to convince. But like, let's pretend he did actually think she was dead, I feel like he would go full Dungeon Meshi lesbians. He will go any length to revive her if she's dead, and bc she's not dead he's using magic to divine her location and go and get her. Nabu is very into writing spells and runes and arcane magic and there is nothing magical he wouldn't try to get Aisha back. Mans was already so dedicated to getting to know her, combine that with him being in love with her and there is nothing he wouldn't do

The Lady and the Lord
Chapter 1
Eddie Munson x fem!reader
This is a repost since the old blog doesn't work anymore. 🥰
Chapter summary: pretty much the firstt episode from the reader perspective, also the first interaction with Eddie.
Chapter warnings: harassment, jocks.
Tumblr media
Here I am, looking at my reflection in the mirror: last day before spring break begins. Thank goodness some peace at last.
I check one last time my appearance before hearing Steve honking right outside so I grab my bag and head out.
"Hey" I greet both him and Robin on the passenger sit.
"Hey Y/n"
"Hi" Robin sends me a big smile as I get in the car with them.
As always Steve is driving us to school.
"How's it going?" Steve asks immediately.
"Oh since today is last day, all fucking good" I say.
"I know right!" Robin "Hey, quick question and please be honest" she turn to look at me from her seat.
"Yeah?"
"Do I look like a corpse?" She asks.
Her question catching me completely off guard.
"What? No, why do you ask? Or, most importantly... since when do you even care?" I answer.
"Exactly" Steve agrees "thank you, honey"
"Stop calling her that. She's not your girlfriend" Robin scolds him.
"It's fine, I'm used to it" I laugh.
Steve's been my closest friend since... ever, basically. He always called me 'honey' as the most playful thing ever.
We grew apart after he started hanging out with Tommy and the rest of those 'lovely' people... anyway after the events involving the Upside Down we found each other again.
"See? She gets me." Steve says as a matter of fact.
"Whatever" Robin says as she starts to fix her look in the small mirror.
"How was your date with... uhm... Brenda..?" I hesitate a bit, I can't remember the name of each girl he goes out with.
"Stella" he corrects "Yeah.. Good, but not my type."
"Right.." I nod. "So who's Brenda?"
"Brenda is Tonight. Then there's Heidi tomorrow night, but the problem with Heidi is that she's going out of state for collage. Do I wanna start another relationship that has no point other than sex? I mean, I don't know. Does that make sense to you?" He then asks us, but Robin is definitely not paying attention and I lost track of the names long time ago.
"Are you two listening?" He asks.
"Yes"
"Yeah"
We both say quickly.
"What did I just say?" He tests us.
"Something about sex with... uhm" Robin starts turning to seek help.
"With Linda..?" I try.
"No, I'm talking about Heidi." He exclaims with an exasperated laugh.
"Cut me some slack, please. Your love life is one of labyrinthine complexity. It is 7 in the morning, we have the stupid pep rally, and I woke up looking like a total corpse!" Robin snaps.
"You don't look like a corpse, Robin, stop" I assure her again.
"You're worried about a pep rally? Expect us to believe that?" Steve says.
"Yeah? So?"
"So, we all know what this is about. I'm not buying that, Y/n is not buying that. This is about Vickie." He states.
"Absolutely not" Robin tries to defend herself.
"Yes it is, Robin, c'mon" I tell her.
"Oh so you're on his side now?" Robins accuses me.
"And you know what else I think?"
"I don't care-"
"You gotta stop pretending to be someone else when you're around her." Steve's using his motherly tone.
"You're literally quoting me to me. You do realise that." She replies.
"Well, then try to listen to yourself. How about that?" I tell her.
"Yeah, exactly. I listened. Look at me. Boom. Back on business." Steve says proudly.
"A little too much, but whatever works with you Stevie" I tease him.
"Yeah, but it's not the same thing. Okay? You ask a girl out and she says no. Big deal. Nothing happens. Maybe your ego is a little bruised. I ask out the wrong girl and bam, I'm a town pariah" she explains.
"I'd buy that, except Vicki's is definitely not the wrong girl." Steve tries to reassure her.
"We just don't know that, do we?" She says back.
"She returned 'fast times' paused at 53 minutes, 5 seconds. Do you know who pauses 'fast times' at 53 minutes, 5 seconds?" He asks looking at us "people who like boobies, Robin."
Oh god.
"Ew, gross don't say boobies" Robin replies not so sligly disgusted.
"Yeah, please Harrington" I say.
"Boobies! It's not a big deal, okay? I like boobies. You like boobies. Vickie likes boobies. Definitely... it's boobies."
His supporting ways are... peculiar, to say the least.
"Can we talk about something else? Thank you" she basically order us.
"Fine fine! So I got a date, Robin got her band thing, what about our lovely Y/n?" Steve asks.
"I gotta help Nancy at the game. I'll be taking pictures" I answer him simply.
"You know.. we gotta find someone for you." Steve simply says, like it was the most amazing idea ever.
"What do you mean?" I ask confused.
"Well.. Robin and I can't be the only two with love problems" he answers. "Some solidarity, honey"
"I'm fine, thank you very much" I say laughing.
"Oh please! Nancy and Robin are the only ones you talk to at school, beside some 14 years old-" he starts.
"And I'm okay with it, Steve. Plus the perspective of having to talk to someone I don't know... scares me. So.. appreciate the thought, but no" I smile at him.
"Well you talked to me" Robin intervenes.
"That was different, our lives were at risk, russians, mind flayer, possessed people everywhere... that was deadly necessary" I chuckle, even if the events of last summer, and everything before that, don't have anything to chuckle about.
"Yeah well... think about it as deadly necessary too" Robin suggests.
"I don't have that imagination" I laugh.
"We'll find a way" Steve says to Robin quietly, to not make me hear, but I do.
"Don't you dare" I warn.
"Okay okay"
"Yeah sorry"
They say at the same time.
I don't want a relationship now, too much trouble. I need to focus on finishing this damn school, then I will have time to experiment and all that.
The day goes on pretty well, nothing major happening. A pretty normal day.
As I'm going to throw away the leftover of my lunch, in the cafeteria, I spot Mike and Dustin, nervously looking at their table.
I stop with them.
"You guys good?" I ask with a small chuckle "you look like you're about to get shot"
"That would be more gentle I'm sure" Dustin is the one to answer.
"What's wrong?"
"Well... Lucas decided to betray us and won't be present at tonight's campaign" Mike finally speaks.
"And... is that a tragedy because...?"
"It's the end of Eddie's campaign." Dustin answers.
"Can't you.. postpone?" I ask.
"That's our plan.. the problem is.. telling him" Dustin replies, swallowing hard.
"Oh c'mon. He's not that scary." I tell them.
"You say that only because you find him cute" Mike says.
"What?" I ask, feeling my face heat up at that.
"Anyway, why don't you sit with us and... protect us" Dustin asks.
"Oh no no no. No can do, little genius. Not a chance" I say.
"You'll have our lives on your conscience" He replies, raking a deep breath.
"After all those times I saved you asses from demo-things, I think I can leave you to him for this once" I answer walking away.
After I threw away the food I take out my notes, to see what I need before going to Nancy.
I'm a bit lost in my thoughts as I walk near the wall when my attention is caught my Eddie Munson himself standing on the table, making faces at Jason and then turning around.
"It's forced conforming" I hear him say as he walks back on the table.
"That's what's killing the kids!" He says the last part shouting and jumping of the table, scaring a few people that walk by, not me though. I just chuckle as I keep walking.
He sees me and simply takes a theatrical step back to let me pass.
"After you, m'lady" he says as I walk past him sending him a small smile.
"C'mon, man, stop staring" one of his friends says, making me turn around to make eye contact with Eddie who was already looking at me.
He just winks at me with a smile, my face got warmer than before so I quickly turn my head around and just keep walking.
Did he actually just winked at me?
Nah... yeah?
Nah.
"Fucking hell.." I mutter as I walk to the gym.
Nancy needs more pictures of the basketball team for the school paper. So here I fucking am, on my way to the gym full of dickheads.
I enter and tell the coach I had to take pictures as the boys practice for the game.
As soon as he gives me permission I move around a bit to take as many pictures as possible so Nancy won't send me here again... hopefully.
As I stop near the benches to prepare the camera for another set of shots, one of the players come sit close to where I was standing, I feel him staring at me, but I pay him no mind though, focusing all my attention to the camera. Maybe if he sees that I'm busy he won't start a conversation.
"Hey there"
Boy, I was wrong...
I don't answer, pretending to not hear him might help.
"Hey, baby"
Nope. No help. At. All.
I just turn my head to face him and mutter a small "hi" before getting back to the camera.
"How are the pictures going?"
I can tell he's not really interested.
"Good" I simply say.
"Not so many words, uh? It's cool, actually better, you know" he comments.
I roll my eyes and keep fixing the object in my hand.
All of a sudden I feel him standing up.
Oh great he's finally going away...
"You look like you know what you're doing"
No...He stands right next to me, watching closely what I'm doing, making me go completely rigid.
"Yeah" I say quietly.
"Good with you hands too" he comments again, now he's basically attached to me.
"I guess" I say, moving away in a poor attempt to put some distance, but he's quick to follow.
"You're the quiet one, aren't you?" I can hear the teasing, mocking tone very clearly.
I obviously don't say anything, I just look around hoping someone catches on what's going on, but no one seems to notice.
"But I bet I can make you scream" he whispers directly in my ear, making me jump, but he quickly put his hands on my hips, preventing me to move too far. "I want to make you scream so loud everyone will know what a little whore you actually are"
"Get off" I tell him.
"Aah! She speaks" he fakes surprise. "You won't say those words tonight, trust me, you'll be all mine." He jokingly say, even if the 'joke' seems more like a threat.
Thankfully the bell rings and he just walks to the showers with the other, not before yelling "hope to see you tonight!" And laughs.
I quickly gather my things as soon as he disappeared into the showers, when Lucas' figure catches my eyes.
"Hey.." he timidly say.
"Hey" I say, trying to act like nothing happened.
"I... I'm sorry a-about Andy" he tries.
"Nothing happened" I say, still getting my things to avoid any eye contact with the boy.
"Y/n, I saw" he calmly says.
I take a deep breath and look at him.
"It's okay.. I mean, could you have stopped him? Not with the whole team here at least. Don't worry, kiddo" I say giving him a quick hug before stepping back. "Please... go shower, you smell" I playfully shove him towards the bathroom and then I walk out of the gym as quickly as possible.
I walk quickly while I put my things in the bag paying no attention to whatever's around me, in fact I run into someone, dropping some paper.
"I'm so sorry" I say kneeling down to grab the fallen paper.
"No worries, m'lady"
Eddie?
I look up and as I lock eyes with the metalhead, I look back down just as quickly.
"Here" he says kneeling down with me to help me gather my paperwork.
"Thanks" I say quietly standing back up, Eddie does too.
"No problem... hey, you okay? You look a bit.. shaken. Do those pricks give you trouble too?" he asks, concern hidden by a nervous chuckle.
"No, uhm.. he was just-" I cut myself off, seeing how he frowns, visibly concerned, trying to understand what happened, I shake my head "I'm fine. Don't worry" I finally say standing up, putting the paper back in my bag.
"Are you sure?" He asks again, eyeing the gym doors suspiciously.
"Yeah yeah. Thanks. I.. I gotta go" I say, but I stay put staring into his eyes.
When he nods with a small smile, I shake my head again and I quickly walk away.
"I got the pictures" I say walking back into the room to Nancy.
"Oh great, if they win tonight we need more pictures from them 'practicing the victory', thanks" she says handing the camera to another girl to have the movie developed.
"You okay?" She asks looking at me.
"Yeah, why?" I say, as calmly as possible.
"You look.. tense"
"Nah, I'm okay, just can't wait for this day to be over" I lie.
"Mh" she looks at me sceptically, but leave it alone. "You remember, I need you tonight at the championship game, for the picture of the game"
Fuck. I forgot about that...
"Yeah, yeah, no I... remember" I reply with a nervous chuckle.
Everyone is so excited about this game, everyone is cheering and clapping for the team to finally win.
The band is playing as always, I see Robin next to Vickie, hoping she's not feeling that nervous now.
The team enters the gym and the cheerleading squad, obviously, cheers louder and I take pictures next to Nancy and Fred who's ready to take notes.
I see Steve entering the gym too, with... oh shit.. Stacy.. no.. Carol... no, Brenda! Yes.
"Does it bother you that, like, we might win a championship right after you graduated?" I hear her asking Steve.
"Yeah, that's an interesting point. Thank you so much for bringing that up, Brenda" he answers looking around, to not show how her words slightly affected him. He locks eyes with me and I sarcastically pull my thumbs up for him, he just rolls his eyes and follow the blond girl to their seat.
"Everyone now please rise for our national anthem" Everybody stands up "singing for us tonight, we have a very special guest. All the way from Nashville, our very own Tammy Thomson!" He announces and leave the court.
Holy shit.
I hold back a laugh.
I'm gonna tease the hell put of Robin later, since Steve is already doing that now apparently. I see him mouthing something on the line of "muppet" at her after Tammy started to 'sing'.
Then the game begins and I just focus on taking pictures.
And they actually won... unbelievable.
Lucas finally got to show he can really play. I'm so proud of him.
I'm gonna congratulate him tomorrow, now he's enjoying his well-deserved glory, so I just walk out after saying goodbye to Nancy.
I hear someone yelling something, but I keep walking out of the school.
"Hey baby"
I still keep walking, when a sweaty, breathless Andy runs in front of me blocking my way.
"Hi baby" he repeats.
"Hi" I say and try to walk past him, but he moves to prevent me from going any further.
"Trying to run away from me?" He playfully asks.
"I just want to go home" I honestly say.
"Oh c'mon, come celebrate the win" he tries to convince me.
" I..." I start.
"I'll make it worth your while" he smirks.
He then moves closer, holding out a hand to try to touch my cheek but I instantly step back avoiding his hand.
"I'm tired... thanks, but I do have-"
"I told you you'll be mine tonight" he says, trying to sound seductive, but he just makes my blood run cold.
"I'm not interested" I say quietly.
"What was that?" He mockingly asks getting closer.
"She said she's not interested, man." Steve's voice catches both attention.
Thank goodness.
"We're having a moment here, Harrington" Andy says, annoyed.
"I think you're having a moment, she isn't. So be a gentleman and back the fuck off, man." Steve tells him. "Or I could just tell everyone you can't get a girl"
"Whatever man." Andy then turns to me "I'll see you around, baby"
When Andy walks away, Steve shouts "no you won't"
"You okay?" He turns to me.
"Yeah.. thank you Steve" I tell him.
"Don't mention it. Let's get your ass home" he says wrapping an arm around my shoulders.
"And your date?" I ask with a small chuckle.
"Oh... not my type. Again. Just my luck" he says defeated.
"Oh don't worry, you'll find your true love" I assure him patting his back.
"If you liked me enough I wouldn't have this problem" he jokes.
"As well as Robin" I joke back.
"Yeah.. surrounded by amazing girls... who just don't like me" he dramatically says.
"We do like you, just not in the way you want" I tell him with a smile.
"Yeah yeah, don't rub it in, uh" He says.
"Righ. Better get your bruised ego home" I joke.
"Are you gonna be okay there all alone?" Steve asks after I climbed out of his car.
"Yeah, as always" I answer.
"Mh... call if you need anything." He tells me. "Or I could stay"
"Yes, Steve, stop worrying. I'll just make some beads rings to calm down and not think about that dick, I'm gonna be sooooo fine" I reassure him.
"Fine fine" he chuckles, "you coming tomorrow right?"
"As always" I say. "Night Steve"
"Night honey" he says starting his car.
I walk to my house and get in.
Then I walk to my room, take out some beads and start to make a flower ring.
I love living on my own, I really do. Sometimes I just think it would be nice to enter and shout "mom I'm home!" And hearing her asking about the evening and the game, talk about everything.
Unfortunately my parents died long time ago, I lived with my grandmother, who left me the house when she died about.. 5 years ago.
I shouldn't have lived alone, but I was so scared to leave Hawkins and this place that Hopper pulled some strings and let me stay here on my own since that young age.
Hopper... why do my thoughts lead me to him now... he was like the father I literally never head. We bickered all the time, but I cared about him and he cared about me.
My mind runs to that day at Starcourt.
We were catching our breath after the fight with a possessed Billy, we planned how to end that. Joyce, Murray and Hopper were supposed to get into the Russian base and close the gate to the Upside Down.
Hopper was giving El a motivational speech, I just stood there watching them, feeling a bit envious, I have to admit. They definitely looked like father and daughter. They both tried to let me in, asking me to join them on their Miami Vice nights, but I never accepted... to scared to know what if feels to have a real family, I think.
I remember calling for him before he and the rest went to the base.
"Hop!" I called him.
"Yeah? What is it?" He asks.
"I... I'm sorry.." I stuttered out shaking my head.
"About what?" He replied with a small chuckle.
"I just... do you think... uhm.. I mean.. you and El have any plans for.. for.. Friday night? I heard there's this show, that seems kinda cool... I'd like to check it out.." I timidly said, my eyes focusing on playing with my rings instead of him.
I kept my eyes down, getting more nervous as the seconds went on without an answer from him, so I worked up the courage to look up at him and to find him smiling. A warm, proud smile.
"Only if you buy the snacks" he said before hugging me.
I hugged him back tightly.
That was the last time I saw him...
I shake my head, trying to get rid of those thoughts.
I put away the beads and head to bed.
I definitely need to sleep all these thoughts away.

Maybe Kouyou teaching gn!reader manners in her unique way? 😌
Sakura Kisses
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ pairing: Kouyou Ozaki x gn!Reader
♡ synopsis: Your girlfriend Kouyou teaches you Port Mafia etiquette after you become a new member under her supervision.
♡ wc: 1.1k
♡ cw: Mentions of mafia business including murder, basically just one long conversation between you and Kouyou, reader is a bit of a silly (self-insert much?? I am so silly)
note: I took a couple creative liberties with this one, so...hopefully it's alright lol. This is one of my OLDEST reqs and I'm only now finishing it, I'm so sorry nonnie I love you so much babe and I fucking love Kouyou too man, she's not my favourite girl (LUCY DEFENDER TILL I DIE) but she's amazing nonetheless. When she appeared in Stormbringer I think I screamed. Anyways, apologies for errors and I hope you enjoy x
Tumblr media
"Are you gonna teach me how to differentiate between all those salad forks that princesses use?" You sighed. "I don't wanna do all that. I wanna use ONE fork when I eat."
You really didn't know what to expect when Kouyou had suggested sitting down and giving you an informal lecture on 'mafia etiquette'. As far as you were concerned, those sorts of words were reserved for high-class individuals, and people from before the 20th century. You'd expected your induction into the mafia to involve a lot more active bloodshed; full of action, and littered with corpses of faceless enemies- something like what Chuuya Nakahara had experienced when he first joined, or so you'd heard.
Apparently not. Not when your girlfriend is an executive, anyway.
"No, nothing like that," Kouyou chuckled. "Mafia and monarchy aren't synonyms."
"Well, they're pretty damn fancy though, right? I can only guess by you, at least..."
"You'd be surprised," she replied. "I'm perhaps one of the most...'fancy' individuals in the organisation."
"Is that right?" You raised your eyebrows, curiously. "I dunno...I just assumed organised crime would be organised, like how it is in those old gangster movies."
"Of course, those films aren't based in reality. The Mafia is much more brutal than any screen could display, though I understand you're already aware of it." Kouyou locked eyes with you, her gaze firm. "Yes?"
"...I mean, sure..." you answered, before adjusting in your seat. "Right then. What's the first thing I should know? Like, gimmie the basics."
Kouyou cleared her throat. "There is a rule of transaction here in the Port Mafia. You don't want to be indebted to anyone else here."
"But I'm indebted to you, Kou!" You said. Kouyou chuckled.
"Not me, dear. Nobody else, though. I'm sure if I talk to him I can grant you some mild immunity with Chuuya." She explained. You inhaled, never having met the executive before but having heard stories. He certainly sounded like someone you would want immunity from.
"You and him are close, right?" You asked her.
"Indeed. I did help oversee him when he first joined the mafia, as I'm doing for you now."
"How long ago was that?"
"Seven years ago," Kouyou answered quietly, seemingly remembering the time fondly. "He was rather plucky at that age. He found his rhythm here rather easily, nonetheless."
"Good for him. Bet he was better at it than I am, eh?" You chuckled. Kouyou tilted her head, before bowing her head.
"Don't fret about it, dear. You'll feel more comfortable here in no time, though...you can't be too comfortable. This is the Mafia, after all." She shifted in her seat to better face you. "Now, I'm going to ask you some questions which you'll need to know the answers to in order to...survive here."
"...'survive'?" You slowly repeat the word, as if foreign to your tongue.
"Many lower ranking members, such as assassins and those who run errands for the higher-ups, are rather disposable. Many in my position would have no problem killing you if you were to upset them at all," She explained, her voice calm as if this were completely normal. You hadn't been a part of Kouyou's world for an extremely long time, but you decided to start expecting a lot more death very soon. You knew she was desensitised to it and you were fine with that, but...
"God, that's frightening. I thought you said you could get me some kind of immunity, though."
"I said I'll see what I can do with Chuuya. In all honesty, I believe you two have the capacity to be good friends, so long as you don't anger him."
"Well then, bring on the questions, I guess..." you muttered in reply, before perking up after what you felt to be a brilliant idea popped into your head. "Will you kiss me when I get a question right?"
Kouyou blinked in surprise. "Why, that's..." she partially covered her now-red face with her sleeve. You gave her a smile.
"Please? How else will I motivate myself to do well?" You begged, giving her a slight mock-pout. "Come on, you wanna kiss me, Kouyou. You wanna kiss me sooooo bad, I can tell."
"Fine, fine," she nodded quickly, waving her arm slightly. "I agree to these terms. Are you satisfied?"
"Sure am!" You grinned. "So, go on!"
"Alright..." Kouyou straightened her posture and softly cleared her throat. "If I were to approach you and ask your name, what do you tell me?"
"...my name?" You answered, confused. "You know my name."
"Regardless, you would tell me anyway. When an executive asks a question, they are demanding an answer."
"Right, okay..." You nodded, "Then, my name is Y/F/N."
"If you're asked who you work for, what do you tell them?" She asked. You pursed your lips for a moment.
"...uh, you? Miss Ozaki Kouyou?"
Kouyou shook her head. "You work for the organisation."
"The Port Mafia?"
"Yes. That's your reply. In this line of work you don't answer just to me, you also answer to Ougai."
"Who?"
"The boss of the Port Mafia," she clarified, "the kingpin of the organisation. You must have already seen Mr. Mori with Elise, yes?"
You frowned, confused. "...Elise?"
"The young blonde girl who accompanies him."
"Oh, yeah, her! She's adorable," you said, with a smile. "She's his daughter, right? I mean, I just assumed, but I didn't know if it'd be rude to bring it up at all. They don't look alike, so maybe...adoption? I don't know."
"...no, that's not quite it..." she began, tentatively. "You shouldn't ask about her, though. Don't bring it up in front of them, or anybody for that fact. Perish the thought, now. Simply do not ever think about it."
"...I don't..." you began with a shake of your head, utterly confused. "Okay...sure. Is that another rule?"
"Consider it most crucial," she answered, stone faced. Despite having such a graceful face painted with fine, expensive makeup, her expression was no less unnerving. You could only blink at her.
"...alright. Anything else?"
"'Anything else?'" Kouyou repeated, before releasing an airy giggle. "Certainly- we may be here for some time, my dear."
"Oh, I'll be getting a lot of kisses then," you grinned, and she laughed once more. "Am I right?"
"...you are, yes. In which case..." Kouyou slowly leaned over and brushed her soft red lips against your own. When she drew back, she gave you a small smile. "Well done, my darling."

Prompt: Skloom and Stellatrix accidentally or on purpose go on double date. Sibling rivalry ensues
"What do you mean we're kicked out the house?" Beatrix wailed pitifully, calculated to get Andreas to relent.
"I put my foot down and we're going to have a romantic night in so you two can't be here," Saul cut in before Andreas could change his mind.
The boyfriend was onto her, and she wasn't pleased at how quickly he was learning. If he worked her out much more she'd have to admit he was her second dad. It was entirely unreasonable of him. Even worse than him caring enough to learn her was that she was starting to like him.
"I get throwing Sky out, but I can be quiet up in my room with a soundproofing spell on!" Beatrix tried one last time.
"Hey!" Sky looked up from where he was undoubtedly already texting Bloom to arrange a date. He really didn't love Andreas as much as she did.
"Little Storm, you are going out because I'm going to fuck Saul against every flat surface of this house," Andreas broke the bad news gently. Beatrix gave him her most heartbroken look.
"Not in my room!" Sky looked up again alarmed.
"Or mine." Beatrix crossed her arms over her chest and sulked.
"Agreed. Now go out." Saul shooed them out of the house and closed the door firmly behind them.
"Thrown out of my own house!" Beatrix wailed and flopped down on the front step in mild overdramatic despair.
"Come on, Bloom and Stella have agreed to have a double date out bowling with us." Sky pulled Beatrix to her feet and threw her over his shoulder while she did her best impression of a corpse. "You'll have fun."
"I wont." Beatrix decided.
"You will if you win or Stella kisses you, now stop being dramatic." Skey deposited her on the backseat where she only just managed to pull her legs in in time for them not to get shut in the door.
"Don't want to," Beatrix pouted and pulled her seatbelt on as Sky got in the driver's seat.
+
They met up with Stella who seemed surprised that Beatrix was in the backseat instead of the passenger's but opened the door anyway to help her girlfriend out as if she was an important dignitary and Stella her guard. Beatrix beamed.
"She acted like I was her taxi driver the whole way." Sky rolled his eyes and accepted a hug from Stella.
"You're not getting a tip with that attitude," Beatrix told him.
"I'm never explaining something to you again! Stella, Stella save me. She didn't know what a tip was yesterday and ever since she's been threatening not to tip me. That's not even an insult." Sky rested his head on Stella's shoulder while Stella patted his back grinning.
Beatrix dragged Sky off her girlfriend with a little growl and Stella used her ring to open a portal that would open near the closest bowling alley to Bloom's house.
As soon as the three of them stepped through Sky was tackled by an excitable Bloom. The two of them insisted on being so cute that Beatrix made a gagging noise and turned away. Before she could go anywhere Stella wrapped her arms around Beatrix's waist and pulled her back against her chest.
"Is my girl being a pest?" Stella whispered in her ear.
"I'm being very well behaved," Beatrix told her innocently. "Now what's so good about bowling?"
"Come on, let me show you." Stella kissed her cheek and led the way inside.
"You won't me to put on those?!" Beatrix exclaimed after Stella had paid and she was shown the shoes. Sky, the bastard, had turned up at the moment already filming her horror at the footwear. "This is a trick!"
"They're bowling shoes," Bloom explained trying not to giggle. She was failing. "It's to stop you scratching the floor which would mean the balls can't roll as well."
"This is the most evil idea for a date ever," Beatrix sulked but when everyone else had put on the shoes (and Sky had stopped filming) she did too. "Stella, please, glamour them. Just make them black instead of red and white," Beatrix whimpered pathetically. This whole afternoon was the worst she'd had since Rosalind had been killed and her magic returned. Even recovering with 14 stitches in her head had been better.
"Alright." Stella kissed her hair, pulled one of her bunches and turned their shoes black with a flick of her wrist.
"We'll get hotdogs and loaded fries and slushies after the first game," Bloom promised as she walked up to the screen to set their game up.
"I might not last that long, I've got a big appetite." Sky chucked his jacket down and went to examine the bowling balls. "You probably want to use one of these ones, Beatrix, they're the lightest."
"I'm strong!" Beatrix hissed like a fluffed kitten. She knew she'd done it because Stella was desperately trying to hide a giggle. "Wait, what's a slushie?"
"I'll get us some, you're getting blue raspberry, Beatrix, welcome to artificial flavourings - what the first world does best!" Sky darted off to join a small line as what looked like a brightly lit and brightly coloured bar.
"I'd better put him last in the turn order then," Bloom said watching him. "Do we want barriers up? It's been a while since I last played but I think my aim was pretty good."
"I have great aim," Beatrix asserted.
"Beatrix hasn't played before, and I am not getting 5 gutterballs like the last time I played. Put them up," Stella decreed.
Beatrix quickly discovered a few things about bowling, firstly that hotdogs, loaded fries and slushies were the best thing she'd ever tasted. It was so much better than what she'd grown up eating, because Andreas could cook -he'd had to learn how isolated as they were away from the world - but they never had junk food delivered. She was in heaven! It was like when she'd had a burger for the first time at Alfea and her delight at it filled her with love for everyone in the room. Then Sky had entered the cafeteria and she'd returned to normal.
The second thing she'd learnt, is that the balls were a lot heavier than they looked, Sky was very good at this game and Beatrix wanted to grind him into the dust with her victory. She also wanted to sneak a bowling ball out the building to use as a missile should Rosalind or any other nasty return from the dead or whatever pit they'd been tossed in.
The third thing was that the only thing better than getting a strike was Stella getting a strike because her firmly prim and proper girlfriend got goofy over the success. She would rush to Beatrix and kiss her in a way that made Beatrix feel like the other person who mattered.
Beatrix flopped back on the strange plastic sofas and sighed happily. Sky leaned over and booped her on the nose, but Beatrix was too comfortable to even threaten him over it.
"Bloom wants another game, and then we're all going on the arcade machines," Sky said. "I've texted Saul to make sure they'll be done by then."
"What'd they say?" Beatrix asked.
"They want to know we haven't killed each other, oh and Andreas says there's no curfew, find something else to do instead of coming back until late." Sky rolled his eyes.
"Tell them I've buried you in a shallow grave and timing how long it takes you to get out," Beatrix yawned.
Sky shorted and sent the text.
Beatrix's turn came around again and her phone rang, she frowned at it. Calling was not allo- oh it was Andreas. She should answer that.
"You normally text," Beatrix said as she answered the phone.
"Tell me you aren't burying Sky alive," Andreas grunted out. "I love you Little Storm, but if I have to come out there and dig him up you're grounded for a year."
"Oh no he was definitely dead when I buried him." Beatrix selected her ball, aimed and took her shot.
Saul squawked in horror at Beatrix's words and there was the sound of Sky's phone ringing. Beatrix shorted.
"Please play nice," Andreas said tiredly.
"Don't shag yourself to death, old man," Beatrix replied, then after a moment. "Love you too."
She hung up and turned to where Sky was promising Saul that yes he was alive, no he hadn't been buried and that yes he was having a good time." He didn't say 'love you' as he hung up because men are idiots and those two especially.
"Are you and Saul good now?" Bloom asked gently.
"Yeah, we're...finding a new normal. He's stopped staring out the kitchen window as if waiting for Andreas to return now too which is nice." Sky sniffed and looked away. "I think his heart's mending and I might finally have a proper place in it."
"Urgh, you're so dramatic!" Beatrix took the second part of her turn. A spare! "Go read his diary. He literally never shuts up about how much he loves you and how proud of you he is."
"He does?" Sky asked. "Wait you've read it?!"
"Yeah? I've read yours, Bloom's, Terra's - didn't understand most of it, too many plant things - and I'd have read Stella's too but I don't think she has one."
"You little," Bloom hissed. Her eyes sparked for a second went out and then she stood up. "That's it. You're going down." Bloom picked up a bowling ball and took her shot.
Beatrix grinned and snuggled against her long-suffering girlfriend.
"You are being a pest," Stella said fondly.
"Possibly, yes." Beatrix grinned. "I was badly socialised as a child."
"Your dad is Andreas, you never stood a chance." Stella dropped a kiss on Beatrix's lips. "Next week we're going to a family dinner and your job is to find uncle Arthur's diary. I've been dying to know what's in it since I was six."
"Easy," Beatrix smirked.

The Lady and the Lord
Part 1
This is the beginnig of my Eddie Munson series, let me know what you think, if you want to be tagged and all that jazz.
⚠️ SPOILER SEASON 4 ⚠️
Chapter summary: pretty much the first episode from the Reader perspective, also the first small interactions with Eddie.
Chapter warning: harassment, one of the football team being a dick.
I'm not buying that, Y/n is mot buying that.
Okay? You ask a girl put and she says no.
"Ypu remember, I need you tonight at the championship game, for the picture of the game"
"Yeah.. surrounded by amazing girls... who just doesn't like me" he dramatically says.
We were catching pur breath after the fight with a possessed Billy, we planned how to end that.
I hugged him back tightly...That was the last time I saw him...
I shake my head, trying to get rid of those thoughts.
I put away the beads and head to bed.
I definitely need to sleep all these thoughts away.

oh dude i watched reanimator the other day bc of all your posts about it and there was something specific i wanted to say but forgot but anyway
damn you werent joking. about any of it
it kills me that all the climactic bad shit happened because herbert west may be a genius but hes also a fucking idiot who injected a body with reagent and then promptly forgot he did that and turned his back on it
DFLJSADS im so glad i could convince someone to watch it because those movies are. a fucking ride. i love campy 80s gorey horror movies like these they're so fun
THAT WAS MY EXACT FUCKING REACTION i went in like "yeah people talk about how gay it is but people tend to exaggerate so im assuming its like. Saw 1 levels of queer coded" AND NO. NO THEY WERENT LYING. THAT SHIT GAY. and like its even WORSE in the sequel somehow. like holy SHIT how do you make the plot of them making a fucking build-a-girlfriend and its gayer than the original
herbert west is simultaneously the smartest guy and also a fucking idiot. he managed to create something that can restart your brain but decides its a good idea to 1. use it on the guy he just decapitated and who hates his guts 2. injects both the body and the head with reagent and proceeds to only focus on the head. dude repeatedly reanimates corpses that has been only violent and hostile towards him in particular and he is somehow surprised every time
and its even funnier cause like. hes alive in the sequel and its never explained how he got out of that shit alive. last we saw him he was getting choked to death by some guy's insides and then he's. just here. this is how its gonna be and we're just moving on. no time to waste on things like "plot holes" and "on screen character deaths being undone" we've got places to be! bodies to reanimate! women to be sexist to!

WHO'S READY TO HEAR A NEW AU?? FROM ME????? WOOHOOOOO
Anyway remember a post i made about assigning hermits superpowers. No worries if you didn't see it btw. Basically, i talked about how i looove coming up with superpowers, but usually have no idea how to tie the plot together... The last concept i had was pretty boring (hermits get isekai'd into the real world. Blegh), but i think i got something here. Take my hand and let's go.... Into the read more
Bdubs comes home from work to find his girlfriend, who he lives with, Cleo, murdered. And the murderer, still at the scene! The murderer disappears right before Bdubs's eyes, and leaves shards of glass behind. The investigation obviously takes place, and, after long questioning and everything, Bdubs is forced to spend the night at a hotel, exhausted. Strange things continue to happen, as everything becomes strangely quiet, as though the entire world had stopped. There is knocking on the door, but no answer; until a tall woman, mysterious but strangely normal looking, enters the room. She introduces herself as Pearl and gives Bdubs a clock, saying he lost it. Bdubs doesn't recognize it, until Pearl shows that his name is engraved on the backside. That's when Bdubs remembers that it was his former friend, Etho, who made this clock for him. They haven't talked in such a long time, but Bdubs was still devastated that he lost such as precious item. Pearl doesn't even hint at where she found it or how she has it, but she says that it's been away, quietly collecting magical power. Turns out, the clock can stop time - Pearl shows him how, and after Bdubs puts the palm of his hand on the face of the clock, the time resumes, the ambient noises are back and Pearl just... Disappears, with no answers.
As if Bdubs wasn't stressed enough already, Cleo's body also goes missing. One of those days, Bdubs walks by his house and sees a familiar silhouette... It speaks with a familiar voice, though horribly distorted. The person is Cleo, a walking corpse. She calms Bdubs down to the best of her ability and they try to catch up on what's going on. Turns out, Cleo woke up with a strange woman looking at her; it was the same woman that Bdubs met, Pearl! Cleo thinks she probably was given a little time to finish her business, and decides that the last thing she has to do in this world... Is to take revenge on her killer. Bdubs thinks it's uncharacteristic of them; he thought they'd say something like, "to spend my last days doing what i love, with someone i love". But Cleo says they have a specific reason why they want to take revenge. It's because they know the killer! They don't tell Bdubs who it is though.
Now, i haven't figured out what happens next yet. Here's some miscellaneous stuff ig
Some people may have guessed that "person disappears before your eyes and leaves glass shards behind" sounds like a specific power i have for a specific someone... It's Etho, actually. But also, writing this, i thought how cool would that be... If they meet Etho and find out about his power, and think oh it's so obviously him. But he swears it's not. And plot twist it's actually someone else who framed him ghhhhgghh do i wanna say who i have in mind. Do i wanna say. Um. I was thinking Lizzie. Idk. Idk. I think it's cool tho
There's gonna be other peepos in this AU too!! I'm thinking it's gonna be groups of people who start off seeming unconnected, but gradually your realize they're all part of one story (i love this sort of thing!!). The other group will be the Magic Mountains bros (or whatever they're called). So far I have thought of powers for Scar and Joel, and i have ideas but am undecided on Gem, Grian and Skizz, and haven't even began thinking about Impulse.. And mumbo (i keep forgetting he exists)
I thought it'd be funny if Grian had to throw a dice for everything he does and let luck decide if he succeeds or fails. No particular reason for it, other than sort of? adapting a curse i had for him in another AU but for a different setting. In that other AU, he had a curse where, when he would involve himself in someone else's business, the result of his involvement would be the opposite of what he intended. Here, i adapted the basic idea of this, which is: Grian's actions are not under his control, and are independent from his intentions. The only thing is... The rest of them have actual powers, but Grian is stuck with a curse again LMAO i will keep thinking about this.
For Scar, it's a power that i talked about and, in fact, also headcanon for his Hermitcraft character. It's that he has (pretty limited) shapeshifting abilities. Essentially, he can change a few basic things about himself, but he can't, like, turn into a tiger or into a rock. So he has to remain human basically. I think.
For Joel i wanted something crazy. I remembered an AU i had for another fandom, so i gave him a power based on that. Whenever Joel has a bleeding open wound, he goes berserk.. he has increased strength, but can hardly control himself. He ends up being covered in scars, poor boy.
For Gem, i initially had nature powers in mind. Her talent and love for building organics could translate very well into something like controlling plants. But then i remembered, if I'm (sort of) basing this group on season 10, should i give her water powers instead? Hm.
For Skizz, uh, I'm like. I REALLY want something that's kind of like... It SCREAMS that it's Skizz's power, or maybe it enhances his already present character traits. But so far the only thing i came up with is... Super duper eyesight. He can see ridiculously far, with all the detail, but also ridiculously close. What do you think. I think it's a cool power but I'm not sure it fits.
As for Pearl, i think she's kind of like... Not the "mastermind", but something like an outside force who has more powers and information than everybody else. Perhaps she isn't even human. I thought it'd be neat if she only appeared during a full moon.
Oh, and on Etho, of course. His power is to go fully non-existent for short times, but he leaves glass shards behind. In addition to that, he needs to keep a strong grip on his consciousness in this state, or it will disappear as well and he will forever remain this weird type of ghost.
That is all i have for now (i think)! I just like thinking, guys. I guess i should really get into a habit of finishing stuff though... It definitely won't be this time lmao sorry. Please do talk to me about this though UwU

Hi, @bunnycat70, I don't accept messages from blogs with no age because I don't wish to be dm-ing with potential kids. Not saying you're a child, it's a blanket statement. Hence the 18+ at the top of the blog. Replies and asks are fine since 99% ofbthe time they're related to my posted content, messages not so much. Just my boundaries.
But Gray Wing has, many many times in canon, worried more about how people see his extremely dangerous, abusive brother, than the people said brother has hurt. This is enabling behavior. Along with trying to peacefully tall with him and reason with him. Clear Sky is a proto-dictator, you can't reason with those types. When Bumble is dying and it is very clearly Clear Sky's fault, all Gray can think about is that people are going to hate his brother. Not the woman bleeding out in front of him.
He is also horrible towards every female character he meets. They're either attractive and he wants them immediately, or if they aren't, they're ambitious and threatening despite everyone being logically on edge due to Clear Sky's threat. Clear Sky's "redemption arc" doesn't work due to his previous actions the writers of the next book forget or don't bother to remember or don't or are maybe having some kind of power trip fantasy, and Gray Wing's excusing of them means he is enabling Clear Sky to commit more atrocious acts. This cat slaughtered a mother with 2 kittens and literally left her body to rot for like... Weeks. He killed Bumble, who did nothing wrong, murdered Rainswept Flower for offending him (despite the next book trying to say "oh he wasn't in his right mind anyways remember this event that didn't happen?")
You don't get to make excuses for those peoplenbut not others just because you have connection with the first and foreigners are evil. You do not get to be possessive over the girlfriend you treated like shit before you started being attracted to for wanting to take shelter during winter and accuse her friend of "stealing" her when you pushed her away until all the prettier girls got fridged. You don't get to be eager to throw out a domestic abuse victim for being fat and 'too traumatized to be useful'. You do not tell a mother who just lost her child that "Maybe it's better only the strongest kits survive" when that baby's corpse IS STILL WARM and CLEARLY SUFFERED in his last moments. (All while Clear Sky kicks cats out for being "too weak", hmmmm). Later after his death he effectively says that cats can't change and rather than try and help and accept that they can change after their death, he takes the lovely excuse "Well you shouldn't be bad in the first place".
Tumblr media
Fucking RICH coming from you, I bet your brother was really scared when he murdered countless cats, smacked, emotionally abused, and endangered children, and left "useless" cats out to die while piles of tiny animal corpses rotted in his camp. I bet he was totally terrified of cats starving to death while those tiny bones bleached in the sun.
And you know the writers still think this is a good thing, because they constantly claim he is full of "love and compassion" and actively pushed back his death because they like him so much.
So yeah, with all that in mind, Gray Wing is the very first villain protagonist for WCR, and he's a shitty cat in canon.

jaune the wizard au) cinder fall is the greatest of all necromancers she's also the most beautiful and intelligent. soon all the world will know how awesome she is and then she'll get a handsome boyfriend and-
NO SHUT UP MASTER IT'S NOT A PHASE THIS IS WHO SHE IS NOW! YOU'RE JUST UPSET THAT I'M GROWING UP AND THAT MY GIRLFRIEND EMERALD HAS A PHAT ASS!
she lost her cool there, where was she? ah damn she forgot. anyways it's time for her to hang out in a graveyard with her girlfriend and be cool! (cinder is a teenager going through her rebellious phase and is doing necromancy to impress her new girlfriend emerald. salem just wants to do what's best for her little girl)
Necromancy was often classified in other kingdoms as Black, or Evil magic, due to the often dubious intent behind using it. Among other such magics was blood manipulation, soul captures, mind control, and sleeping curses. Also on the list, for whatever reason, was illusions.
And Emerald hated that.
Growing up, her mother often called her gifted. In their hovel, she would attempt to cheer up her mother by creating beautiful flowers, or grackles on the window. Her mother loved grackles.
The only illusions her mother forbade were "pleasants," things that they didn't have, such as food or water or clean floors. She said it was wishful thinking that served only to disappoint.
Illusions also served to distract herself from her mother's work, as she was forced to... "entertain" guests while Emerald was sent out playing. It was one night when a man wasn't satisfied with her mother and came for her as well.
It was both the worst and greatest night of her life, as it was the night she met-
"DAMN IT ALL!" A reanimated corpse was smashed to pieces as Cinder Fall, Emerald's savior and girlfriend, brought her foot down on it's bowing skull. "Even the simple ones aren't enough to satisfy."
"You're almost there, Cinder." Emerald smiled. "I, uh, think that one said lemon."
"It said nothing." Cinder growled, turning away after twisting her heel. "Necromancy shouldn't be this hard. I was already practicing when I met you, and that was almost a year ago."
"You'll get there." Emerald replied. "If there's one person I know who can make the dead look alive, it's Cinder Fall."
"And my mother." Cinder turned her gaze away.
"Right, uh..." Emerald scratched her cheek, then perked up at an idea. Focusing her mind, sunlight bent and curved as shapes formed in mid-air before being pigmented by many shades of colors until a bright blue skull with yellow cavities appeared at Cinder's feet.
Cinder looked down at the colorful corpse, whose green tongue lolled out it's side, making her cover her mouth to withhold a laugh. The skull rolled around until landed on it's back. The skull's eyes, black-outlined blue spheres with red irises, popped out in surprise, causing Cinder to let out her withheld laughter, holding her stomach from how hard it was. Emerald blinked and the colorful cadaver cranium collapsed into nothingness. She smiled at her girlfriend, who approached her and held her cheek.
"Oh, Emerald," she cooed, leaning closer, "what would I do without you?"
"You would actually be an accomplished necromancer, for one." Cinder flinched as her mother's words cut her out of her joy. "And for two, you would have caught these trespassers."
"Last I checked," Cinder turned, looking at the overbearing witch of a mother as she held the blond, foolish intruder, "I was your daughter, not your hound."
"I am aware, Cinder," Salem tossed the knight to the ground, bound by magic manacles of bone and rotted sinew, "because a dog would have actually caught them."
"And yet I was never allowed a puppy." Emerald giggled at Cinder's quip.
Salem sighed. "In any case, I have captured him because I thought you would benefit to learn this boy is the same age as you," Salem leaned closer, "and has accomplished far more than you ever have."
Cinder flinched.
"Tell me, Cinder; what do you know of Shadow Lions?" Salem asked.
"Magical beasts from the Black planes. Ten times the size of a normal lion."
"A normal lion?"
Cinder sighed. "A mortal lion."
"Yes, and this boy, trained by Ozpin himself, has slain two. A lioness and a lion."
Cinder became stiff at that. A lioness was one thing, but a lion was twice that size and much more vicious, to say nothing of their magical abilities. Could this boy be that much stronger.
"Liar!" Cinder screeched. "There is no way this fool could have slain those beasts alone!"
"I didn't." The prisoner weakly groaned. Cinder beamed until her opened his mouth again. "I had help from the divines, and from Neo, and from Dame Nikos of Atlas."
"The divines, a pixie, and knight." Salem counted. "Such strange company you keep, dog of Ozpin."
"Can you just let us go?" He asked. "We're only here because Ozpin wanted his stupid mug back!"
"Ugh, of course he did."
"Wait, 'we'?" Emerald asked.
"Yes," Salem answered, reaching into her robe, "him, and his companion." A small, red light shook at her fingertips.
"Let me go!" The light shouted. "And your pocket smells like mint!"
"It's called 'carrying ingredients'." Salem growled. Her focus returned to Cinder. "Do you understand why I brought them here, Cinder?"
"A hero... and a fairy..." Cinder nodded. "Yes, mother." She drew the knife from her boot. "Emerald, look away, please." She did as she was asked.
"Wait, wait, wait!" The blond protested. "All of this for a stupid mug?! Argh! Damn you, Ozpin! You and your stupid, sexy, demon familiar!"
"Wait!" Salem ordered. Skeletal hands and arms pushed Jaune to his feet, forcing him face to face with Salem. Her eyes seemed alight with rage. "What? Familiar?"
"Uh, G-Glynda?" Jaune answered. "She's been at his side for... as long as I've known him."
"So, you're telling me..." Salem grew taller, her fingers longer, allowing Ruby to escape to his side, and her eyes brighter with burning hatred. "Ozma... RE.... MARRIED?!"
"Uh, I, uh, wouldn't say remarried," Jaune nervously chuckled, "more like he entered a binding contract with another being based on trust and bonding and by the divines, I married Neo."
"OZMA!" Salem screeched, her powers wildly fluctuating. The binds around his wrists shattered, prompting him to flee. Skeletons and corpses clambered from the soft earth. They scampered about in their new life, attacking stones and trees, even taking their headstones to smash against the ground. "I WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU HOLD DEAR!"
"Oh, don't be such a drama queen!" Salem looked down to see a tiny Cinder scowling at her, rolling her eyes as Salem snarled. "Even I didn't react like this when Winter broke up with me."
"Oh?" Salem returned to normal. "So I must have imagined you moping about, writing sad poetry about, 'How I'll never love again'?"
"No, you didn't, but I never caused the dead to rise up and smash everything!"
"Because you couldn't!"
"You know what?!"
"HEY!" The two snapped their attention to Emerald, who had her hands on her hips, jerking her head back behind her. "They're getting away."
"Oh, just let them go." Salem waved them off, then snapped her fingers, causing the bodies to fall to inanimate states once more. "And Cinder, as you were so kind to... assist me in my emotional outburst, I will oversee your training myself today."
"Oh... Uh, thank you, Sa-" Cinder cleared her throat. "Thanks, Mom."
Emerald smiled, playing with the address script Jaune wrote out for her. It would be good for Cinder to have a friend. Especially someone who knew exactly what she was going through.
