WHY I DON'T LIKE TECH x PHEE: An unintentional essay

Alright, yall, I've figured it out on my end. I think. I just need to get some of this out so that I can move past it. I'm not even gonna tag it under tech x phee, cause you know what, I don't want to harsh the mellow over in that space, I'm just voicing what I've discovered.

This is long.

Wanda Sykes: I LOOOOOVE Wanda Sykes, love her - love her so much that I can't see anyone else with her voice. A 60 year old lesbian comedian... and you want to make her a 20 something pirate captain flirting with a male cl- no. No. Capital N. O. Like, I thought she and Rhea Perlman were going to be a fun comedic, older duo playing off of each other. Or that they'd have some sort of sassy relationship. But instead she's a coy, fun adventurer who starts to join in TBB family? Nope. No. Didn't sell it for me. Gimme someone else, might have worked. Try Anika Noni Rose, or if you need that star factor, Halle Barry or Beyonce or, for fucks sake LIZZO (can you imagine her beautiful voice as Phee? OOOO I just shivered. Loved her as the Duchess, but her as Phee! Instantly WAAAAY more excited about that character.) Not Wanda Fucking Sykes (like I said, LOVE her. But no. Choices.)

The Build Up: You guys. We are all literally writers. Where were the beats? Where were the moments? You naturally want there to be a moment the audience goes 'ooooooh yeah ok I see it'. IT HAPPENED WITH HUNTER. The next day I remember quite a few of us going 'OMG YES!!! Yes, totally ship that, saw the chemistry with Phee and Hunter! Into iiiiit.' I resisted that one too, cause of the Wanda Sykes thing, but you know what? IT. WORKED. I went with it cause it worked. Was actually kind of excited. Was looking forward to the fics. Did not happen once with Tech, never saw anyone go 'oh look at that chemistry between pirate and genius'. NOPE BTW SUDDENLY THEY'RE ALL TEASING TECH AND TECH AND PHEE ARE IN A SCENE AND THIS IS ALL ABOUT THESE TWO TAH DAAAAH! No. Nope. Not how it works. Feels like my favorite is getting the shitty end of the romance arc stick. Fuck off, no. We have all written better.

Toxic Matchup: The way Phee (see dude, I almost wrote Wanda. Thats how much I can't not see her in this character) treats Tech. One of my mutuals on here, @shadestepping, put it perfectly - "It’s because instead of understanding who tech is as a person and being respectful of how his mind works, she tries to force him to mask because it’s what she wants/it makes communicating with him easier". The example that keeps popping into my head is when Phee sarcastically says "when two people are talking its called a conversation". My eyebrows shot UP, like, this is one of the FIRST THINGS YOU LEARN about Tech- his face is in his datapad. Treating him like an idiot (which is what it sounds like in Wanda voice) because he is doing what he is always doing is not ok (seriously, WTF, dude?). Another mutual, @dumfanting agreed and shared how that hit them: "As someone whose been forced to mask for her entire life, that is wrong and damaging and perpetuates the idea that we as austitics are only worthy of love if we continue to suppress ourselves." And it really doesn't have to be that way. I can rewrite every scene they are in together, still have her be sassy, have her show interest and respect for who he is, and still move him out of his comfort zone. I will do it, if I need to, just to prove it. If the writers are trying to give her some growth too, cool, then TAKE THE TIME TO DO THAT - instead we only hear how HE's being taken out of his comfort zone. How about HER? You want to be with him? Maybe you have to meet him half way, honey

Ultimately, I could have gotten behind this if it was done another way - but the way they went about it missed so many marks. And for my man, that's unacceptable to me. He deserves the best, not something thrown together.

peter parker

(going off the tom holland vr! this is going to be a very long ramble about the character) i cant get over how genuinely hauntingly sad peter parker is, when the idea of peter parker was created, (to be different incomparsion of other characters), because you have a teenager superhero - it's such a good concept mind you - but god? having somebody so young have such a large role on their shoulders is insane, and it's so interesting because just the change in age literally completely fundamentally changes his characters actions and future, he'll have more impulsive decisions, extreme mental issues (which is unavoidable in his situation), and simply a very difficult time trying to navigate.

his level of severe childhood trauma (which quite literally gives you a form of brain damage) will ultimately affect his entire future and actions, he saw his uncle die at what 14? maybe younger? that itself even without the spider-man part is horrid, he never had the chance to even grieve because he was thrown into the most life changing event of his life, he also had no parents either, he has a very significant lack of figures in his life that is so hard to change how they impacted him. what happened in homecoming was the least terrifying experience he probably went through which says alot when a whole warehouse fell upon him and he was just /inches/ way from dying near the end from the vulture.

then infinity war happens next, his fight's and experiences horribly scary situations that nobody could probably even digest at such an age, or even older. and when he 'dusted' its obvious it takes a toll on him before it even happens, he could feel it, and god isn't that scary to think of? the unstoppable force of death? then fucking endgame happens, which i honestly can't even believe the fact that if i said it wasn't the worst thing that happened to him i'd be right, even though he saw somebody who he considered a 'father' figure die in his hands.

excluding that even if tony never died peter would have never recovered mentally so normally, seeing how he was beat up to hell holding that gauntlet was so fucking terrifying. he was tossed around so much and he quite literally held the most dangerous and world altering item in his hands, and if he lost it he'd have the entire world's blame on him. thats so much responsibility a newly(?) sixteen year old should never have, you cannot possibly tell me that it wouldnt literally alter his brain from the terror.

far from home is one of my favorite movie's ever but never fails to make me cry. he didn't even get the time to grieve tony, or the fact that his entire world changed in the matter of days, or the experience it was to endure the endgame fight, how can you casually go back to school after witnessing and /participating/ in the fight that could have possibly entered in the doom of the world again or bring it all back. then mysterio happens, which in my opinion is one of the absolute worst villains that peter's fought, because he was just so human. he ruined peters life completely, and he was just another human. wouldn't that make somebody so bitter? that no your life wasn't completely thrown away to shit by the big evil purple alien, but by another full human. absolutely nothing special to him power wise, not possessed, no weird voices, he did it with pure manipulation and thats one of the worst possible things i could have imagined somebody doing to him.

because peter at the end of the day was just a complete kid, mysterio made him believe he could trust him and peter did, he just lost so much in his life that somebody who could finally understand him was all he needed to feel assured, its why the significance of that one talk they both had after fury was being a dick to peter was so important, mysterio decided to go for such an emotionally devastating route it's unbelievable. but seemingly manipulating his trust wasn't enough, he just had to fuck him up so bad with that illusion scene, putting everything he loved against him and god the stark part was so fucking cruel, but after it all the part that hurt so much to watch was when happy got to him, peter questioning if he was real is so cruel. making this poor kid unable to trust his surroundings (after also being hit by a fucking train!), when he already had so much psychological issues going on is literally the cruelest fate he could have given him at the time.

and lastly no way home, and his future at that. mysterio exposing peters identity was such an irreversible decision that i honestly believe no matter what peter did, there was nothing that could give him or his loved ones the life he wanted unless if he did try to make everybody forget him. like if he originally went to the lady to re-persuade her to let his friends in it wouldnt have worked, and it also showed that much before peter ended up saving the lady in the car, all their fates were fucked and frankly there was no good way to get out of it, he was so absolutely doomed.

may parkers death was the worst of it all i think, i believe from everything that's happened to him, that absolutely nothing would affect him the way she died did. every other death of a loved one that had happened he couldn't truly take the blame for, but knowing how everything lead up to him is the most excruciatingly important detail. he canonically blames himself and i dont believe that feeling will ever end up going away. there's just no way it could, the fact he was the last person who ever saw her alive, the last person she spoke too, he quite literally saw the life drain out of her, there's no way to recover after seeing the person who's been with you for longer than you can remember die in your hands, and in the hands of your accidental actions.

i dont think there was a world were he could have escaped that death coming, peters identity being out as spider-man would have definitely done something in the future, and the problem is everything in no-way home happened in the smallest time stamp ever, i could be wrong but i believe it all went down in a few days at most, there was no way to even comprehend the absolute mental load and overwhelming amount of information being handed to him, nor do i think he'll manage to get over it easily later on either. the idea of different versions of him existing is so much to chew on, the idea of other versions of him living the happier life he could have, ones that never have the people he loves in them, ones where the people he loved are still alive, or some of them even. he even directly saw worlds where their peter parkers arent forced to be forgotten.

this version of peter lost so much that its impossible to cope with, all the peters lost alot already, like all of them didn't have parents iirc, all lost uncle ben, but the tobey and andrew spider-man had a living aunt may, then tobey's lost harry (?), and andrew lost gwen.

this version of peter parker lost both uncle and aunts, parents (of course), and tony stark. this is all just by death, he also lost his best friends, and girlfriend. they stay forever out of reach which is so tauntingly cruel. because he starts at 13/15 (pre homecoming) and by 17 (nwh) he's at the same point of all the other spider-man's started where theyre practically completely alone, or just experienced such a stark change to their lives.

my boy....... he deserves better..... sorry this is so long i had alot to say and i dont get the chance to talk about peter much and ive been recently hyperfixated on him since early feb and i love him so much and cant stop thinking or crying about him . also do tell me if i got any info wrong cause' ive only watched the tom holland trilogy, so im a bit uninformed there but did try to do some research!

🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?

honestly? lack of fanfiction in the dragon prince fandom. anyone who's stuck with my blog for a while knows that thats where i primarily started off writing and that was my overall gateway into the fanfic world. i've always enjoyed writing and using writing skills i've cultivated over years of creative writing to write for characters and media i enjoy is definitely something im proud of. back the dragon prince is a pretty small fandom and ig i wanted to see fics that weren't made yet, so i sat down and decided to make them. look where it got me!!! i had been reading fanfics for a long time before i started writing them though.

🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings

i'm going to do this one for guitarspear! ok so the basics for the hc is this- adam is a physically pretty strong guy, and is definitely very tall and powerful. needless to say, like a giant puppy, he doesn't realize his own strength and pulls people into ridiculously tight hugs. most people get irritated with him or think he's just being annoying when he's genuinely trying to hug them (but not realizing he's hurting them). over time he pretty much stopped giving people hugs. however, the first time he hugged lute, it was incredibly spontaneous and he immediately expected her to be irritated at him. so much so that he started babbling an apology. he was shocked to find that she not only didn't mind, but after some slight nagging on his part, admitted to actually enjoying the hug! needless to say he's much more clingy with her than anyone else.

🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity

gosh this is a tough question. i was in a huge writing slump very recently, about 2-3 months ago before i started writing for hazbin i actually hadn't written or felt motivated to write in quite a while. i was overworked and tired and struggling with writers block, and writing had become less of a fun activity for myself and moreso a chore to fulfill my followers requests. the best advice i can give when it comes to any form of creativity block, whether it be art block or writing block or music block or anything of the sorr is to remind yourself why you're creating art. you should be writing for yourself and creating content that, at the end of the day, ultimately makes you feel good. don't force yourself to write for fandoms you aren't interested in anymore and don't write things you're uncomfortable with- overall, just do what makes you happy and write for yourself, not for notes, not for others approval, but to create the content and fanfiction you want to see in the world. the best way to deal with writers block is to open your notes app and write the shittiest, fluffiest fanfic of your fav character comforting you about writers block. trust me, it works.

Wyrm: *whimpering softly and holding onto Ancanos arm trying to pull him away from his mouth so he can scream for his father. Utterly helpless as the high elf easily man handles the younger mer back into his bedroom, locking and warding the door with ease before forcing him into the chair by his desk* Right then, you’re going to sit there and we’re going to tal-

Wyrm: *tries to scream and gets his glove back over his mouth again, now looking up at him as he starts to cry, visibly afraid and upset, shocked that someone would assault him like this in his own home no less* m-mmph-

Ancano: Oh dear, shhh don’t cry now. I’m sorry I frightened you, but you haven’t been the most, open, to talking to me. So I figured perhaps a fair exchange would change your mind~ *holds up the gauntlets placing them on the young mers desk* You, get these. And in exchange, you talk to me, whenever, and wherever I want to talk. Deal~? *removes his hand*

Wyrm: *still frightened as he stares up at the much larger and physically stronger elf, but strangely calms down as he looks at the gauntlets, like a memory he can’t quite place has distracted his mind* j-just talk?…th-thats it?

Ancano: *suddenly takes his chin in his hand, making him turn his head and look at him* speak up, let me hear you…

Wyrm: *face flushing as fear begins to give way to confusion and a sudden shyness overcomes him* I-I- *tries to look away but can’t, the high elfs now seemingly charming presence too close to escape* y-you j-just want me to talk to y-you? And y-you’ll give me them? *closes his eyes tight, little tears pricking at the corner of his living one*

Ancano: my, what happened to that snappy little prince I spoke to a few days ago~ *gently thumbs the droplet away, swearing it had almost a rainbow sheen against his skin as he did so, like an oil slick over water*

Wyrm: *sniffles and pouts pulling away a little* th-that ‘snappy little prince’ w-wasn’t rudely awoken before sunrise and a-a-ac-c-costed in his own h-home b-before being man handled and cornered like a chi- child… *goes quiet as Ancano locks eyes with him again, his hand sliding up his cheek making him stare back at him*

Ancano: *smiles down at him, gently stroking his skin with his thumb as he takes in his features. The soft freckles on his nose, the slightly pink tint to his dark grey lips and cheeks, how his hair drapes over his quite literally delicate, and weak frame… How his sleeve slides off where his missing shoulder should be, showing off his swan like neck ever so slightly… and of course, his enchanted and enchanting Pearl eye… he was as beautiful as he was interesting. An enigma amongst all in skyrim… But ultimately he was still just a young, and naive elf. While nearing his 86th year to his naming day, he was mentally only a teenager in his 18th year by dunmeri standards. Young, coddled, careless, and easy to manipulate* I take it that’s a no, to my trade offer then?…

Wyrm: *so transfixed by his gaze and touch he didn’t even realise he’d spoken for a moment* I- what?… *looks at the gauntlets and audibly gasps as ancano turns his face back to his* I- I didn’t say no I just-

Ancano: *leans down slightly getting in closer to his face* need a bit more convincing?

Wyrm: f-for how long u-until the exchange is complete?…

Ancano: *smirks a little, holding back from his plan to kiss him immediately and overwhelm his poor little brain by overriding his emotions* Smart little Pearl aren’t you~? It seems nobody can get one over on you. Hmm… *lets him go and stands up fixing his posture as he adjusts his gloves* until my placement here is complete. They were rather expensive after all but, when I noticed how upset you were leaving Enthirs quarters, I felt it’d be worth the investment to make you smile again~

Wyrm: *visibly blushing at the compliment to his intelligence, falling for it easily and yet still skeptical about his wants to see him smile* see me smile again?…

Ancano: of course. You may only scowl when you see me, but I’ve seen you smile from afar plenty. I thought perhaps these might change that. It’s my job to ensure I interview everyone here for my reports and well. No judgment of course to the other occupants of this collage but, you are the most fascinating person within these walls. And I think it’ll take me quite a bit of time to get to know you~ so I felt these might help sway you a little.

Wyrm: *looks up at him then back at the gauntlets, just wanting to have them so badly and having no idea why* j-just talking. N-nothing else. *huffs* and n-no more scaring me like that! *pouts hugging his side*

Ancano: *chuckles and holds out his hand to him* I promise, so, we have a deal then~?

Wyrm: … *looks at the gloves one more time, then his hand before nervously taking it* deal…

Ancano: *smirks* Splendid. *brings his hand up to his lips giving it a soft kiss* I suppose I should leave before your father wakes. I doubt he��d be pleased seeing me in your room, alone, with you~ *winks playfully at him as he releases his hand from his grasp before walking to the door* I’ll come find you later on, little prince. *smiles and disarms the ward before stepping from the room, leaving the Pearl of the sea of ghosts sitting there, flustered and so confused*

Wyrm: *just staring at the door in silence, trying to process what just happened and not knowing what to think* … *looks to his newly acquired gauntlets, the want to put them on still there, but his mind now too occupied remembering the high elfs hands on him* … *gets up and walks to his bed, just flopping down onto it and hugging his pillow as he curls up into a ball, hiding his face*

Thinking about Trigun again and how well it does portraying an abusive sibling relationship. Though if I was Vash I would never forgive Knives, but Vash’s whole thing is kinda how he forgives regardless of what an offending party has done to him [that is a problem and he should be in therapy so i will put him in brain therapy, there is where i take him to therapy in my brain and rotate him in my mind like he is my oc.]

But like as someone who grew up with an abusive older brother, who did not necessarily know what he was doing was abusive, but hurt me badly regardless. I have a lot of feelings about it.

so iunno ramblings from a childhood sibling abuse survivor about how fucked it is the way Nai treats his brother.

In Nai’s own mind he loves Vash, cares about him and wants to protect him, but he also in a way does not see Vash as an individual that is separate from himself. He has an internalized entitlement to Vash, to his time, his thoughts, his mind and body. He wants complete ownership and control of him, because in his mind this is the only way to keep him safe, but in doing so he would erase literally everything that makes Vash who he is.

TLDR: Nai says no one is allowed to hurt my brother, except for me i get to hurt him as much as i want but its for his own good so its ok [its not its really fucking not]

Nai is so utterly convinced he knows whats best for him, how best to look after him, that he crashed an entire armada of ships, ultimately dooming them both to a horrible 150 years on a planet that cannot support them. We could also go into Nai’s fear and how that drove him, but thats for another post I think.

Nai’s plans regarding Vash always end in failure for two reasons.

1. Nai is horrifically short sighted and narrow minded, almost hilariously so.

2. He does not know Vash as well as he thinks he does, and what he does know he disregards.

Nai crashes the SEEDS ships to protect Vash and make a paradise for plants. He does not actually know at this point HOW he’s going to do that, just that he wants too. He also didn’t know the planet he crashed them all on would be horrifically ill suited to his kind, or he did, and ultimately didn’t care. He did not think that Vash would leave him. He disregarded Vash’s emotions and when Vash reacts badly he berates him, taunts him with being his accomplice. Though we the viewer know that this is patently untrue. You cannot be an accomplice to murder if you lend someone a knife to cut a cord with and they go on to use it to stab someone[Vash did not hand Nai the codes, so much as Nai saw him enter them and memorized it and then used it for his own purposes.]

Guilt tripping in order to force someone to stay by your side is kind of textbook 101 for abuse. And then he does it again, and again, and again. It never works, but he keeps doing it! He keeps trying to break Vash down into little pieces he can put back together in the shape of what he thinks his brother should be.

Nai’s plans at July fail because once again he disregards Vash’s emotions and his connections with people as insignificant. They may be twins, but they are both individual, independent plants. Vash’s relationships quite literally ground him in reality and allow him to build a place for himself in the world.

Millions Knives does not have connections with people outside of Vash. He has what I’d call Business Deals. He is not grounded in reality, he doesn’t even want to keep his feet on the ground. He wants the access to the Higher Dimension that Vash can get him. He wants to tear it open, crawl inside it and never leave, even if it means a gaping bleeding wound in his brothers soul leaking out across the planet, turning him into a literal husk of himself.

This plan of course fails, because Vash is not beholden to Nai’s views on how the world should be, and his connections with people allow him to hang on even while being literally re-written from the inside out.

I think it’s telling, at the end of the final episode, how Millions Knives claims Vash killed Nai. Even with his plan blowing up literally in his face, he has to take on last low blow at Vash, one more guilt trip for the road. “you made me like this” standard fair for an abuser.

I watched Crimson Peak recently and saw another post here asking you about it, so since I'm new to this, I'm also going to do the same if thats ok.

I had almost no clue about what i was going to watch, except for the fact that Thomas (aka Tom Hiddleston) is in a relationship with his weird sister, so that didn't really come as a surprise. The way the movie escalated had so many contradictions, Edith's pureness versus the sickening situation that grew in Thomas' family. It bothered me a whole evening how I couldn't make out a satisfying explanation or message this movie wanted to express. I mean other than discovering the truth behind the mystery and empathising with Tom Hiddleston's character. Was that really it? A horror movie having fun with how much a human's boundaries can be stretched? I mean, I liked the movie, at least i thought it was horrifyingly beautiful before it started being violent. That kind of left me with a bitter feeling.

So my question is, could the actual plot twist of the movie be that the WHOLE movie from the moment Thomas appeared was just Edith's imagination? Edith wanted to write a ghost novel, but got rejected because of the lack of romance in it. The existence of the ghosts wasn't really explained in the movie and i know the house in England is supposed to be cursed, but the ghost Edith sees in her own house in the US didn't really make sense. In a love scene, Edith mentions how her characters talk to her or something, she says how personal writing is to her anyway. So could she have come up with everything? And what we're seeing is her imagination, the improved version of her turned down novel? Because for a horror movie there was quite a lot of complicated relationships going on. I don't know, does that idea sound alright? Btw i had expected Thomas wouldn't make it alive through the end, but his death scene was so shocking, i had to pause to process it, it was so sad what he was made to do and how he ended up punished for trying to do the good thing even under such conditions.

Personally, I don't think it has a moral or message- not all stories do. It's sort of, to be meme-y about it, "Wouldn't This Be Fucked Up? with Guillermo Del Toro." I think there are a lot of interesting themes to consider, though, including:

Love as a constructive vs. destructive force (Thomas and Lucille- yes, both of them, her by action and him by willful inaction -did horrible things for love of each other. Thomas loves Edith, and both drags her nearly to her death AND ultimately saves her because of it. Edith and Alan love each other platonically, and save/fight for each other- even as loving Edith gets Alan serious injured. Carter loves Edith, but his decision to shelter her dooms him and almost her too. Etc.)

Generational trauma (the Sharpes became Like This because of their parents' abuse, but have now turned abusers themselves even as they try to make their lives better)

Not trusting appearances (on a pretty basic level- the ghosts look scary but are mostly helpful; Edith looks sweet and delicate but will not hesitate to Shovel A Bitch if necessary)

Changing roles of women and feminine ideals at the turn of the 20th century. this I really want to write an essay about, so I'll leave it at that

Conventions of Gothic storytelling

Why Are We So Inclined To Forgive Thomas More Readily Than Lucille When, All Things Considered, He's Really Not That Much Better? (Sure, he saved Edith and Alan, but he's never bestirred himself for the other innocents they've slaughtered. And why did he bring a woman he at least liked into all this, anyway? Not to mention making and serving the first pot of poisoned tea Edith drank.)

(seriously if you get into the character bios Del Toro wrote for the actors during filming and later posted on his Twitter, Thomas' Certified Rancidness shines even more. He gave no kind of damn about his first three wives' deaths, found and lured Enola himself with no input from Lucille, and was overjoyed when he got Lucille pregnant. I love the man but he is a poor little meow meow in every sense)

Is The Fate Of Each Sharpe's Ghost ~Divine Justice~ Or Simply Their Own Willingness/Inability To Move On? Which Would Be More Emotionally Affecting?

so i've seen a lot of "bruce is a good dad", "no bruce is a bad dad!", "no THIS version is good for THESE reasons", "but THIS version is BAD for these other reasons" kind of stuff and ,honestly, what im getting from all this is that we've all collectively identified A Problem but haven't quite figured out the root cause yet.

well, i think i've gotten a little closer. to be fair tho i wouldn't have if there weren't so many amazing people spouting excellent meta theories and writing advice and whatnot here on the tumbles.

so here is my opinion on this that literally no one asked for but you're gonna get anyway:

the root problem is a narrative perspective incongruence

let me explain: so superheros are, at their core, a power fantasy (at least the dudes are, anyway) and what fantasy they are about differs between characters. in batman's case the fantasy is...complex, but basically boils down to staring at the uncaring void of the universe and making it blink first. its a fantasy of getting to grow up to become the thing that would have saved you. of being such a badass that you can drag the world even that tiny bit closer to being fair, even if you have to use force to get it there. its about making it so no one else has to go through what you had to. its about being someone who CARES in a way it felt like not enough people did when you needed it most.

and thats a powerful fantasy. very appealing to a LOT of people for a LOT of reasons. but its ultimately a fantasy told from an adult perspective. we don't see little 8-12 year old bruce dress up and go out fucking shit up in the night. we see, at the youngest, 19-20 year old bruce dressing up as a bat and starting his whole thing. and usually its more like 22-24 when he gets started. and that means he has an adult's idea of what is right and wrong, what is good and bad, what is fair an what is not baked into it. which is absolutely fine, its just also deeply incompatible with a child's perspective of the same things. because to an adult, a good adult, children are a thing to be protected, not endangered. and to a child an adult is a threat at worst and an obstacle at best.

which means the problem... is ROBIN

because robin is ALSO a power fantasy, but one for children. robin is about a little 8-12 year old kid dressing up to menace the kind of people who hurt them or those they care about. its a fantasy about getting justice NOW, of getting an adult that treats you like an equal ["partner, not sidekick" anyone?], an adult that understands and validates your feelings and wants and trauma and HELPS you in the exact ways you want them to help you at the time, even if its something other adults would be mad about.

which is also a powerful fantasy, but because its being told from the perspective of a child it has a VERY different set of requirements for the setting than something told from an adult perspective.

see, for a child (or children, or teens, or any other not-adult) to be able to be the hero or protagonist of a story it NECESSITATES that the adults in that setting are all some form of terrible. usually in one of the three following ways: dangerous, absent, or useless.

dangerous adults are ones who want to kill, maim, or otherwise assault the kid protags. they're usually the more dangerous bad guys of a story or even the 'final boss'

absent adults are usually the mechanism that allows for all this adventure and why a kid is the one all this responsibility falls on. this can mean anything from "all the adults magically disappeared one day and now its just us kids in the world", to "all the adults are off at war", to "none of the adults care to check in on us so we're left on our own to do what we want", to "all the (relevant) adults are dead" [insert "you're not my real dad" jokes here]

useless adults are, i think, what trips so many people up. because these are the adults that try to help, that try to take responsibility, that try to do the right thing. but because this is a story about kids they can't actually SUCCEED without making it all about the adults instead. and this is, unfortunately, where the vast majority of "good" adults in a child-perspective story have to be. and that't not even getting into how a 'good' adult from a kid's perspective is a very different thing from a 'good' adult from an adult's perspective.

because, no, a kid is not 'an equal' to an adult in all things. an equal person? yes. an equal in basic human rights? yeah they should be. an equal in power? in responsibility? no, by the very nature of kids being kids they are NOT ready for that. an infant is literally unable to care for themselves and will die without that care, a toddler is not ready to work or pay taxes, an older child/younger teen is not ready to be wholly responsible for themselves much less parent someone else. and that means there is gonna be a power imbalance. a 'good' adult is one who is capable of balancing the independence of a whole-ass separate person with the power-over and responsibility-for someone who isn't able to be as independent as they want yet.

a 'bad' adult is one who doesn't do that. either because they can't or because they intentionally won't. a 'bad' adult puts a kid in danger, is sexually inappropriate with them, or slacks off on their responsibility towards a child under their power. a 'bad' adult will give a child what they want even if it is dangerous or otherwise a bad idea in a way that child isn't prepared to understand yet. either because of negligence or manipulation.

so if we bring all this back to batman what we get is a story that is trying to be told from an adult's perspective AND a child's perspective at the same time. one where batman HAS to be good to be batman but he can't actually be good the way an adult would view it.

which is how you get robins having to be the co-dependant emotional support for a grown-ass adult. of having to parent the parent. of having to parent the other kids while they still are one. of being 'allowed' to fight murderers and rapists and pedophiles and traffickers while being a prime target for ALL of that because even the 'good' adults don't seem to know what appropriate boundaries and limits for kids are. and all that is in the "better" versions of batman. don't even get me started on the horrors lurking in the bad ones.

so as long as robin is under 16-18, batman is REQUIRED by the narrative perspective to be some kind of terrible adult, because an actual good one WOULDN'T LET SOMEONE YOUNGER THAN THAT DO SO MUCH DANGEROUS SHIT. hell even that age range is pushing it a bit.

and before someone jumps in with the inevitable "lol, what makes you think bruce could stop [insert robin here]": alfred somehow kept tiny bruce from running off to fuck shit up. you think he can't still do that with the younger kids? that him AND bruce at the height of his power couldn't do that combined? that a bruce who has made friends with fucking SUPERMAN and WONDER WOMAN couldn't get a literal demigoddess and overpowered godlike alien to help him wrangle his kids? that a good-parent bruce wouldn't sacrifice his pride/territoriality over gotham if it meant saving/protecting his kids? that the most paranoid man in the world with terrifying stalker/invasion of privacy tendencies wouldn't be capable of having multiple trackers on each of his kids (including ones they don't know about) that set off a bazillion alarms and failsafe protocols the MOMENT they went off schedule or pattern?

i will absolutely grant you that the grown-up versions of the robins are all terrifyingly hyper-competent even in comparison to bruce (or at least they SHOULD be) but thats their GROWN UP versions. while they're still kids, still ROBIN, they are VULNERABLE and, like any other kid, deserve to be protected and as safe as reasonably possible.

going out at night to kick people in the head in spandex and booty shorts ain't it

so your options are:

bruce is a good dad and all robins are at least 16 before they start actually going out to fuck shit up. and aren't running off on their own to 'fight crime' until at least 18. they might or might not be involved in the background stuff like research or 'guy in the chair' duties but they ain't physically in danger until around mid-late teens. OR,

bruce is a typical useless adult of child-narrative stories that has no idea how to care for a child and lets them do shit that is inappropriate as hell but the kids think that makes him a 'cool' adult at the time so the narrative labels him a 'good' dad and not the textbook definition of 'reckless endangerment of a minor'. [and leads to the grown up kids having Complaints about their upbringing that never get addressed]

and i think it's pretty obvious which one the multiple iterations of canon consistently go for

so yeah: doylist take is batman is a bad dad (who is usually at least trying) but he's literally written that way by poorly thought out narrative choices trying to have it both ways that have been going on so long its beyond baked into the narrative and has progressed to burnt-in.

and that sucks because by all rights he SHOULD be a good dad if you keep to his "platonic ideal of batman" characterization. like this man should have spent like a year doing almost nothing but teaching himself how to parent when he got the first one. this is the dude that goes out and finds experts until he himself is an expert. why on earth would he do that for his 'mission' and not his kids when the WHOLE POINT OF BATMAN IS TO HELP TRAUMATIZED KIDS LIKE THEM.

Are you anti plastic surgery. As in every form to be specific

to preface we’re all just doing what we can to live happy lives in our society. i acknowledge people get plastic surgery for many reasons, be it for wanting to be seen as beautiful or because they were in some kind of freak accident and want a semblance of normalcy again, but i do not have to agree with some of those reasons. more under the cut because this is a long one!

i think there should not even be a system that encourages plastic surgery for vanity in the first place, yet there is. and people can make their choice at the end of the day, and learn from it if it affects them both positively or negatively. bella (gigi?) hadid herself has gone on record to say that she wishes she still had her old nose, which is so important for women and girls like me who grew up with a nose that wasnt considered traditionally feminine… it is a removal of diversity so that people can fit the cookie cutter mold of this western idea of beauty, and, dare i say, exaggerated gender stereotypes. and because of this i would argue that many forms of plastic surgery for vanity’s sake has white supremacist or at the very least colorist roots.

plastic surgery for this group of people serve as a solution to the problem of insecurity, but it isnt a very good one. what is good is the abolishment of systems that prey on existing insecurities of women and girls and even come up with new ones they can profit off of. women and girls need to know that they can be above all of this, and be happy, or at the very least content with how they look and that there is nothing wrong with it, lest they become *addicted* to plastic surgery (a very real phenomenon). i would go deeper into the dissociative separation of the mind and body that permits and justifies this type of plastic surgery, but i am not quite yet confidently versed in the ins and outs of that philosophy; or at least, not confident to talk about it with my full chest. but ultimately, we are all affected by the beauty industry whether we like it or not, and to progress and become better for yourself, we must feel uncomfortable and work through that discomfort. radical feminism has allowed me to finally be at peace in this regard.

i had a friend that had nose surgery because of breathing problems, and it completely changed the shape of her nose, and while she wanted it both for breathing problems and vanity, the health problems definitely trump anything else i would say. and even then, im not going to go up to people that have had minor work done and tell them i disagree with their actions. thats just not going to happen lol.

as for victims of accidents, i have much less to say about that because what happened to them was just that: an accident, the result of an outside force be it a force of nature or someone else. as someone who has had horrible burns before i sympathize with burn victims who go through specialized surgeries to recreate their faces as accurately as possible. such a jarring shift in ones life, god, i cannot imagine. same for acid attack victims, who are often attacked in the first place because they rejected a man, or who dared to commit the crime of simply being a woman.

my opinions on this have been formed by the values that i hold very dear to myself: self discipline, personal growth and development, and nonconformity. so i wont say anyone who disagrees with me is wrong, just that we have different experiences that have informed our views over time. i should also add that im an older sister, so i have a few little shits looking up to me for guidance and support. i have to be a good role model for them and, despite wanting plastic surgery when i was younger, show my deeply insecure sister that things can and will change for her. that she is not alone, that we’re all going through it… that no matter what, makeup and plastic surgery isnt necessary for her to be beautiful, and eventually beauty isnt necessary to be happy at all.

yes, some people’s quality of life improve because of plastic surgery but the entire concept, i think, is abysmal and dystopian. how cruel that we must cut ourselves up to be happy, when we could just be, or learn to be. but again, everyone genuinely considering plastic surgery are probably grown adults that can make their own decisions, im not going to manually approve or disprove every minute reason someone has for wanting to get surgery. so go crazy because i cant stop anyone from doing what they really want to, i can just post my opinions on my silly womanblog and hope it resonates with the few that read this.

First off, I’m so happy you loved the smut! It was something I was quite nervous about, so much so that I sent it to my two best friends to see if it was good enough before posting!! And all the things you’ve said about it is exactly what I was aiming for!! I didn’t want to write what I call “mindless smut”, which is just filthy, hot smut. And don’t get me wrong, I do love those too, but I just feel a lot of fanfics these days are just ALL about that with not much story (this is an obvious sore spot for me that I don’t want to delve too much into). I wanted my smut to be something nice, between two people who love each other and want to express it. So thank you for appreciating what I was trying to do :)

Now, I don’t want to get too much into saying what was right and wrong about how and why everything happened the way it did in their relationship. It's hard to show people, especially yourself, that you can say no and have boundaries, but we all start somewhere. Maybe your start is telling that guy to fuck off in a way you're comfortable with. I also want to say that nothing is set in stone when it comes to who you are as a person. You aren't just a push over, you aren't just weak, you aren't what your past actions have boxed you in as. i really dont like home school

it's a good thing blacklist sucks more because thats the only thing keeping home school from becoming my least favourite "this high school is fucked up" show. but ever since i found out what blacklist's source material is like (romance centric NOT mystery centric like the series tries to be) i gave up on that one. ANYWAYS

home school is bad. it's themes are all over the place, the execution is meh and i don't even like the messages themselves (this might be a personal thing). i would say 2/3 of the characters are not well developed despite there being 18 episodes.

erm. spoilers ahead (i will try to be vague if i can). also quite a bit of discussion of child abuse yknow typical home school things. phrasing not really the best but hopefully i get my point across

the themes and messages

this isn't clear from the start but home school is ultimately about healing from abuse/trauma and how things with good intent behind them can end up... bad. this is fine on it's own but the details of it within home school itself is....... erm...........

one of the key points of the ending is that violence/murder should never be the solution even to things like abuse because it turns you into a monster as well. i don't like this i think it's stupid personally but it fails at executing this well either way. you cannot tell me violence turns you into a monster and love is the solution when one of your characters is forced to kill or at least seriously injure her abusive dad in a previous episode (WHICH IS THE ENTIRE REASON SHE HASN'T FLED THE COUNTRY BY NOW).

you could say it's never confirmed he died! but he's not there in the final episodes with all the other parents and instead her (equally shitty) mom is there which seems to imply that she killed him! or put him in a coma! home school never brings this up and if i think too hard about it my head will burst open.

there's also how home school (the building that would become home school later) has always been.... abusive. i don't talk about this ever because i don't know how to phrase it well but we're shown that even before the orphanage became home school the children under it's care were mistreated. run and maki's abusive stepdad who becomes a cofounder of home school being one of them and it seems like a set up for a story about the cycles of abuse and violence, and (this is my personal reading) that very building is used as a metaphor for this.

but also it isn't. home school was founded as a place for unwanted (rich) children, meant as a safe haven but later turns into a terrible terrible one because the 2 people who run it are scummy. this is fine. until the twist that amin was actually good all along! he was just brainwashed and after the brainwashing was undone he's normal. this is... okay.... but thematically i think it's awful and comes a bit too close to abuse apologism (run saying that he knew something was wrong because the amin HE met in childhood wouldn't abuse students and lock him up in a room for years!!! and run being RIGHT? because amin was brainwashed???)

the ending is also (cringes)(disgusted) because the 2 masterminds who brainwashed amin are arrested, amin dies of old age and run becomes the new headmaster of home school and everything is fine! the kids have each other and home school is no longer a scummy institution. it's like a kids show in the absolute worst way and even then i know shows aimed at kids with more nuance and thought put into them than home school. you cannot write a story LIKE THIS and conclude it with "these 2 people were the problem the whole time" ????????????? it's like they want me to pull my hair out.

wow this is horribly disorganised. there's also the framing of home school as trying to teach good lessons to the children through tough methods. methods such as locking up and retraumatising a student they KNOW is innocent until the real culprits confess (?????), punishing students who are on time because they couldn't get the latecomers to wake up on time (????????), starving the students and pitting them against each other (????????????????) to build cooperation and teamwork and love. the end of episode quotes (like the ones in some other shows) also support this and treat it like a good thing, the masters were right for traumatising kids to get them to love one another! (i remember some speculation that this was intentional and they were going to subvert it. this did not happen).

at least they don't do go the typical thai series route of sloppy reconciliation with parents. i've had enough of that (happy birthday is directed by the same person and i felt like the reconciliation between tonmai and his family was done pretty well so! thank you p'fon).

the characters

i didn't expect every character to be given a crazy amount of depth because it's a large cast but they couldn't even hit the bare minimum for some of them so you could say i was Very Disappointed. i ended up only caring about white out of the main 4 (don't even get me started on how much i dislike that there is a Main 4 in the first place) and my favourite character ended up being jingjai.

pennueng, phleng and biu are painfully underutilised. phleng and pennueng had potential to be very interesting but got pretty much dropped after the first few episodes (i was especially disappointed with phleng lol i love myself a flawed girl who acts out and lies as a trauma response. if only she didn't immediately change after one of them talked her down). it seemed like they didn't have a full idea of what to do with biu, her and phleng's reconciliation was also pretty meh. did not care enough.

they forgot about jean. he's the one that got done the worst by the show sorry he shows up does nothing and becomes biu's love interest. nothing4nothing i guess.

the rest of the cast are fine but this show is allergic to depth and nuance. there was a lot that could've been said about children who grow up unloved and how it manifests (particularly with jingjai, hugo, fuji and phleng) then the show just does not do that. we skip right past jingjai and hugo's bullying but then again i guess they needed plot to plot so there wasn't much time.

while it was airing i saw a post comparing maki to akk from the eclipse, saying they could have similar arcs, with maki being the class president that sticks closely to the rules (waking up on time even without an alarm). she ends up being... nothing like akk! i had my own problems with the eclipse but one is obviously better than the other.

i really liked the twins though. most shows (cough the gifted cough) forget about them but mek and mork had a very interesting storyline even if they got reduced to comic relief with pennueng after. absolute Twin Misery on display.

why did every single character get into a romantic relationship? ALL of them were paired in "expected" duos (as a prsk fan this makes me cringe) and they just put fuji with the twins i guess. some of these characters had ONE conversation or notable scene and suddenly they're dating i guess (???) i liked jingjai and hugo i think about them once every few weeks, and i can kinda see why tibetmaki and naiwhite ended up together but i don't think anything else was necessary. if anything i think biuphleng should've kisse-

damn. this ended up long. thank you for reading. if i had to say anything good about home school is that most of the cast were fantastic with their roles (to be expected) and the styling is good if you overlook how unrealistic it is for everyone to just have perfect hair and makeup all the time. prigkhing's hair looks good here (low bar but many shows cannot style her hair well) and the twins looking more distinct over time (someone said it was things you couldn't do with the other's face but i'm not good with faces so i can't confirm this) is a nice touch.

this is the main thing bringing down my expectations for high school frenemy tbh. p'fon has good shows (i enjoyed happy birthday/my precious, heard 10 years ticket is good and i expect 23.5 to be simple but good) but this type of show is.... hm........ it's probably going to be delayed too i'm not expecting it before the 2nd half 2024 (unlike the gmmtv2024 pt 1 shows) seeing how her shows just do not seem to come out on time LMAO

dmbj newbie here with a bronze gate question. so as i understand it, the only place the bronze gate episode takes place on film/in an adaptation is the ultimate note harper's bazaar issue bts (this is me being funny)—but does the ten years get mentioned in any of the adaptations? you have it sometimes in your gif sets is why i ask, but it's usually on b&w frames so i guess that's just reboot wu xie thinking about it? reboot would be after the 10 years, and there's the wu xie war widow movie right before? i'm just trying to understand for fic writing purposes, but as you know the adaptation timelines are so bonkers ahaha. anyway thank you and your tumblr is AMAZING—

Oh yeah I've seen some in fics confusing 10 years separation with his first time going behind the broze gates (aka heavenly palace one, after which ultimate note is set up). These are not the same. First time he left, in book 4 it did left Wu Xie shook and scared but at that time it was just the beginning of their relationship and Xiaoge didn't leave for long, he just went to see what was there and soon returned. But it has nothing to do with major tragedy in book 8, where Xaoge is already fully admitted to himself that he doesn't want to ever leave his Wu Xie but has no other choice, and their 10 years long separation.

Tbh adaptations timelines are all accurate (its just the actors age who play Wu Xie I think confuse ppl when it comes to Sand Sea, Reboot and now Tibetan Sea Flower, bc Zhu Yilong looks younger even tho it's set after the other two). But its all accurate. Heavenly palace is the first time Xiaoge goes behind the gates, by that time his feelings for Wu Xie hasn't established yet (bc as NPSS said it is hard for him due his past to feel that way and it took a long time for Wu Xie to break through even tho he surprised him from the very beginning) so when he leaves, he doesn't quite understand yet why he wanted to look at Wu Xie before he left. He comes back pretty soon after and thats where UN starts aka the time their feelings for each other develop, Wu Xie after the first bronze gates first time feels scared that he might not see him ever again so after that it changes their dynamics a lot and Xiaoge starts to realise that Wu Xie is his home but is still confused about such foreign feeling bc he never ever wanted to stay, which finally in book 8 leads to him finally admitting it and the "it's just you" infamous confession. He realizes that doesn't want to leave Wu Xie anymore, but sadly and cruelly its also the time they're forced to separate not at his own will. He then finds out the whole thing about Wu Xie being the next one who has to go behind the gates and takes him place instead.

So thats the book that goes after UN, there's no adaptation for this one yet, but I think everyone waits for this one the most xD. Then will be "Tibetan Sea Flower" (the one that's gonna be released soon), its set 5 years after Xiaoge leaving. This one is gonna be very angsty bc in this time period he's just very uncontrollably angry and quite chaotic. He has a hard time dealing with all the pain so first years out of these 10 are the most intense. After that goes the "Sand Sea" series (thats only half of it), it's the last of these 10 years, aka my least fav part, bc at that time he's colder, his soul seems dead and he's mostly just depressed and tired af and its all well.. depressing.

Then goes "10 years later" and all the extras. Also the most anticipating part we all want to see, but still don't have the adaptation. Aka them reuniting and Wu Xie saying "fuck ya all", taking Xiaoge to the village and iron triangle enjoying peace and quiet.

And then goes Reunion the Sound of the Providence, which is first 2 books of the Reboot series.

As for mentioning, I'm not sure what do you mean its not mentioned? In "Sand Sea" series it's mentioned all throughout the series. When grandma shows Wu Xie's 10 years calendar and at the end when Pangzi tells Wu Xie that Xiaoge might not recognize him and that they'll reunite soon specifically, but I mean.. the whole series is about that xD I don't get what you mean…? The piece of bronze gate at the end to terrorize him also counts as a direct mention I think.

As for Reboot, also there were scenes like this one, where Pangzi tells Wu Xie not to panic and that "if Xiaoge could survive behind the gates for 10 years he's gonna be okay" and Wu Xie almost starts crying and his sickness worsens bc he couldn't breathe:

But in general just for the record, in the books after they reunite, they literally fucking NOT ONCE FUCKING TALKED ABOUT IT! And that's fucking pissing everyone off. Like I understand why, bc I recently came to a conclusion that they both know everything already (Wu Xie figured everything out during these 10 years and Xiaoge knows what he was doing from Hei Xiazi I'm sure). So all that is mentioned is that Wu Xie hid his scars bc he didn't want Xiaoge to see them first time he sees him again. We also know that Wu Xie is mad about Xiaoge taking his place and that Xiaoge is mad bc he did it to keep Wu Xie happy and innocent and instead everything went the opposite way. But they both never mention it to each other bc there's no point really, I guess. I think they both know that being mad about the fact that they both did same thing is pointless. And they won't apologize too, bc they don't feel sorry for what they did. Its like saying "you had no right to blah blah" when you did the same thing xD. So no one speaks about the "thing", only very subtly bc its a very sensitive matter. It was pretty clear that they wanted to forget and just be with each other as much as possible right now. Like when Xiao Hua was like "I get why you want to shelter yourself alone with him here in the village after that and just be near each other".

But then again in Reboot 10 years PTSD shines all throughout the SOP part heavily. Bc with Wu Xie getting sick thing.. its just all that pain resurface and war flashbacks just linger heavily in the air in the first two books. Bc its the first time since that that they have to separate again unwillingly and Wu Xie just doesn't handle it well even with the fact that he knows that its "not like that" and that he promised to return to him as soon as possible. And Xiaoge has troubles with controlling his anger there, bc he has his own PTSD aka "wanted to protect my treasure so he'd live a long carefree life" and now that he's back he found out that not only it's not carefree but it also might end. So after too short of a period of happiness the trauma comes back and there are lots of parts like "the thought of him leaving again made my heart sink" (in the book he was crying next to the window in the village when he found out that Xiaoge has to leave, in the series he cried in bed). So when it comes to Reboot it might not be directly mentioned, but its always there. And all of these emotions were in my opinion transferred very well by both sides in the series. Like it was the hard part to play in my opinion bc it was the first time they had to deal with their ptsds after short happy times and it all came back like a tsunami, but they both were very stoic about and the only way you could get how Wu Xie felt is by reading his thoughts directly, not bc he showed anything. So they had to somehow transfer it to the screen, which is real hard considering that in that part they're both emotionally constipated and Wu Xie also learned how to hide his pain.

So in this aspect adaptations are all accurate.

P.S. Not really that related to the question, but to me the most upsetting thing about this is that the only thing that can help them at the moment with this is not currently possible.

Bc if you think about it... talking about these cursed times won't help really, bc there's not much to talk about it. I mean what are they gonna say "sorry not sorry"? lolz. And it's like not the usual chinese bl stuff where one has no idea what other did, so someone has to tell them. Here they both know what they did and for whom, they also both by now know about their own feelings and aren't in any denial. The only problem is that they both think that they're trash compared to each other, bc they both see one another as their whole world without whom they can't live.

So the only thing that can help them rn is getting together. I would really want Wangxian like thing with Xiaoge kissing Wu Xie's scars bc hell he needs it so much, I cry. You know what I mean. Thats in my opinion is the only way they can soothe the pain and cure their ptsd little by little. By loving each other, thats all. But with the list of all the problems right now its just.. idk how to deal with this honestly.

P.P.S. Zhu Yilong always talks about these 10 years in all of his interviews lmao. And in one as an obsessed books fan he also agreed that its better not bring this up, bc Wu Xie almost got mad during those xD

on one hand im scared of their fans so i will say for the sake of not being hunted down by the baby boos: im not seriously beefing with them i just think its funny especially since my partner loves them. and as someone on kätwt i am forced against my will to know about these twinks anyway i might as well fight em in a tesco car park. they live in the uk rn i can do that now.

on the other hand, the whole thing where theyre touring in about a month (so i get the vibe this is all very last minute ngl) and instead of having a fixed opener theyre opening 'applications' (through social media, so it'll just be a numbers game ultimately) for fans local to each show to open, completely unpaid, feels.... weird to me. like, if you aren't going to pay an opener, the least you can do is not take advantage of the parasocial relationship your fans have with you for free labour. they could contact artists in a professional capacity where there isnt a power imbalance that will make them less likely to say no. from what i can tell, a lot of the artists applying that have a decent amount of fan support are professional artists anyway. like they couldve just done that.

also, these lads are in their 20s. they know how twitter works. they know what social media is like. and quite frankly if they werent already aware of the reputation their fanbase has maybe the fact that some artists have already started attacking others wanting to open the same show as them will make them aware. im not saying the fact that this has pitted their fans against each other is jo's fault. but i do think at least using a private application form rather than using social media wouldve been a much smarter choice. like i said, this all feels very last minute to me. if it weren't perhaps they wouldve put more thought into this.

ALSO this is nothing against anyone applying. i know ppl who are applying and i wish them nothing but the best <3 i just think these twinks should pay up

all this, especially when this technically isnt the first time theyve used their fans for free labour. them moderating their official discord... i get a few fan moderators but i witnessed the rusty quill discord implode as a result of this sorta thing. its never a great idea, especially for a large public open server thats bound to get some nasty trolls.

im begging these leads to get a social media manage or pr guy or SOMETHING bc i dont get the vibe that this is intentional, just that they keep not thinking things through and quite frankly theres only so many more fuck ups before i start beefing with them for real
