THE SUN AND THE MOON
Tumblr media
Pairing: Kate Bishop x Demigod!Reader
Summary: Kate makes a visit in your universe after weeks of not seeing eachother.
Word count: 2.5K
Pure fluff. Kate is such a dog mum. This is taking the sapphic long distance experience on a whole other level. Reader is a daughter of Apollo.
a/n: there might be a prequel of this on the workings. It's still an abstract idea but I already got something laid out.
————————————————————————
"Okay, I'll come and pick you up tomorrow morning at 10:00. And if I find you two doing cheeky stuff again you can say bye-bye to your personal multiversal taxi." America warned Kate as she was opening a portal right on the fire escape outside your bedroom window.
"Just to clarify, we were just making out." Kate points out. "We were half naked but only making out." She adds mumbling to herself. She took a step forward, finding herself in your universe. "Whatever. You own me so many pizza balls for this." America grumbles before closing the portal.
You were sitting at your desk, music was blasting through your headphones as you were finishing up an assignment on your computer.
Kate opened your window and jumped inside your room. She smiled as she saw you concentrated on your work. Her backpack slips out of her shoulder, hitting the hardwood floor. She sneaks behind you and takes your headphones off.
"Whatcha listening to?" She whispers in your ear. You jump on your seat and turn around.
"Oh my god!" You whisper shouted. "Kate? What are you doing here?" You stood up from your chair, a smile plastering on your shocked face. You weren't supposed to see her until next week, so this was certainly a very nice surprise.
"Hi, baby. 'Was just popping by. Wanted to see what my beautiful girl was up to." She shrugged as her hands found your waist, immediately connecting your lips in a sweet kiss. When you draw back you notice she has cuts and bruises all over her face and probably on her body too since her suit was all ripped and a bit bloody. You tilt your head. "Did you come here because you wanted to see me or because you want me to be your personal nurse again?"
"Both?" She raised her eyebrows and made her famous puppy eyes at you. You shake your head and chuckle. "Take off your suit." You step back, crossing your arms under your chest. "Eager, are we?" She teases as she peels off her archery suit, throwing it on the floor. Now she's left with a black tank top that accentuates her muscular form and some boxers that had purple hearts on them. Of course she was wearing something like that.
You roll your eyes. "Just stay still." Your hand reaches her jaw, where a fresh and deep cut was glaring at you.
You took a deep breath: a golden aura began to shine around your body. Kate felt your warmth streaming from your fingers to her jaw. In a matter of seconds the cut disappeared. "Who did you fight this time?" Your hand moved to her forehead. "Just some thugs that were trying to steal some kind of dangerous substance. It was a pretty cool fight, actually. I knocked out three guys with only one shot." She says proudly. You smile at her being all cocky of her actions. "That's amazing, love."
As your hands were moving all around her body, healing her from every single bruise and cut, she rambled on and on about her mission. You had to force her to stay still because she was moving around trying to demonstrate how she back flipped and knocked a guy out kicking him in the nuts with her left foot.
Once her skin was smooth again you removed your hands and returned to a normal non glowing human. "Thank you, princess." She smiled at you and gave you a quick peck on the lips. "You knows you're always so hot when you do that. Literally and figuratively."
You chuckled and sat down on the bed, reaching for a bottle of soda on your bedside table and drinking it to get your full strength back.
Kate crawled on the bed, laying on top of you. Her arms cradled around your hips and her chin rested on your midriff as she gazed up at you with her dazzling angel eyes.
"I missed you." She whispers and leans her head forward. She starts to leave a trail of butterfly kisses from your collarbone to your lips. You can't help but giggle at that sweet action.
"I missed you too, Katie." Now her face is right above yours. Your hands find the small of her back and caress her there, your touch is as soft as a feather while you draw heart shaped figures on her bare skin.
"Lucky misses you too." You could feel one of her calloused hands sliding up your back and reaching your neck. "He's always so excited whenever I say your name." She then lets go of you, and goes to retrieve her phone that was in her backpack. "I've got a few videos of that, actually." She crawled back next to you, opened her gallery and pressed play on a video of Lucky being all happy and stomping around as his tail was wagging like an helicopter. You chuckle at the adorable sight.
For the next few minutes Kate proceeds to show you every single video of Lucky she had. (even the ones that you had seen a million times already) "Wait! I almost forgot." She reached in her backpack, taking out a small folder. She opened it and inside there were dozens of pictures of her, Lucky, and a couple with her team too. "I printed some more pictures for you." You melted. Kate knew you couldn't have a phone (being a demigod was really shitty sometimes.), and every time she made sure to print a lot of pictures (and yes, some of them were spicy too). You, in the other hand, were more prone to writing. So while you had an album full of pictures, she had a folder with all your letters and poems.
You couldn't help but to lean forward and kiss her on the lips. "Thank you." You looked at the pictures for a few moments and then looked up. "I got something for you too." You stretched your arm to open the drawer of the bedside table and took a small notebook, handing it to her. "It's a small scrapbook I've been making for the past couple of weeks." There's all kinds of things: poems, flowers, pictures and small things that remind you of her.
The corners of Kate's mouth reached her ears. "You're amazing, princess." She took the scrap book in her hand, starting to open it and flip through the pages. You stopped her. "Nah uh." You put your hand over hers, shutting the scrapbook closed. "That's for later. When you're back home."
Kate rolls her eyes. "Fine." She carefully puts the scrapbook in her backpack. She crawls back to you, fully laying on you and burying her face in your neck. She starts giving you little kisses on the same spot. "Come with me." She says in between kisses. "Come back to my universe."
"Katie, you know I can't." You sigh. Being long distance was certainly not easy. Especially if you both live in different universes, and don't have any type of communication besides iris messages, that you discovered can work between universes, but those can last just for a couple of minutes. (One time you left the "call" go on for the whole night. You had to toss 15 drachmas to pay for it. The inflation has reached the mythical world too apparently.)
"Please." Her soft voice was humming against your skin. You wanted to. You wanted to be with her, be close to her, falling asleep in eachothers arms and waking up to Lucky jumping on the bed and licking your faces. But you had your family to take care of. You were the oldest of the family. Your mum worked all day long, leaving you to take care of your two little siblings. And also you had college. You had missed the whole first semester due to the whole "disappearing into another universe thing" and now you had to catch up.
"I promise that I will, just not now. I have so much going on right now. I can't just disappear again after being away for months." You made her look at you, cupping her cheeks. "You promise?"
"I promise." You whisper, a small smile tugging on your lips.
She leans in and kisses you. She wants time to stop. Tomorrow morning she'll have to go back and it's going to be another couple of weeks until she can see you again. So she doesn't dare to pull away from you. She wants to be in your arms forever.
Soon her tongue slides in your mouth, sinking into you. But it's not enough. Touching you isn't enough. Her hands move up and down your sides, squeezing your waist over your sweater. Or better, her sweater that you stole the last time you went to visit her. Her fingers graze your stomach and slides her cold hands under the soft fabric. Your skin perks up, a shiver running down your spine to Kate's electric and intoxicating touch.
"Katie..." You whisper when her lips detach for a millisecond. She just hums against your mouth, her hands sliding upwards. She knows you're not wearing a bra underneath.
"Darling..." You say again a bit louder but she continues. And right when her fingertips are about to reach your breasts, you stop her. She leans back from your face, her hands don't move, they're warm, now having stolen the heat of your body. She's looking at you with her mouth agape, she's slightly panting, her pupils are blown out and tendrils tickling your now rosy cheeks. "We can't do that right now."
She furrows her eyebrows and she's about to ask why when someone knocks on your bedroom door. "Y/N?" It's your mum. You totally forgot that on Sundays she only works in the morning. Shit. She tries to open the door. This is the only time you thank the gods for having a crappy and old apartment. The handle of the door is almost broken, so it's pretty hard to open it unless you know the right mechanism to not tear the knob out.
"Quick. Hide somewhere!" You tell Kate as she panics and jumps out of the bed. She looks around and then she hears a click. The handle slightly turns and the door opens. Kate crouches down and slides under your bed right before your mum walks in your room.
You quickly put all the pictures that were next to you on the bed under your pillow and smile innocently. "Hey, mum. What's up?"
"I've made tea, do you want some?" She asks.
"Uhm- no. Thank you. I'm fine." You fold your arms under your chest.
"Are you sure? You've been in here for the whole day. You need to take some breaks from those books." She points at your messy desk.
"Yeah, I know. I'm taking one right now. You know, laying in bed and- looking at the ceiling." Kate has to hold in a laugh for your lame response. "It's very relaxing. You should try it."
"Alright." She says reluctantly. She takes a step back when she notices Kate's backpack on the floor next to your bed. Fortunately her suit was on the other side so she couldn't see it. "What's that?" She points at the black backpack.
"Oh. That's uhm- Will's. He left it here yesterday." You lie. But it was pretty effective because Will actually came to visit you the previous day. He would never own a backpack like that but your mum buys the lie and nods. "Hm. Okay. Well, if you need anything I'll be in the living room. Your siblings want to see Cars again." She states and closes the door behind her.
"Okay. Cool, thanks. Have fun!" You hold your breath until you can't hear her footsteps anymore and pat the side of the bed. "Coast is clear." Kate rolls out from under the bed and lays on your bedroom floor, a smirk on her face. You sit criss cross on the edge of the bed and look down at her. "What?"
"You're right. It is relaxing watching at that nice and smooth ceiling." She mocks.
"Shut up." You dangle down one foot and lightly kick her on her hip. She fakes a hurt face and pouts. She stands up and now she's the one looking down at you. "So, I gather you haven't told her yet?" You shake your head. You did want to tell your mum about Kate. But you know she would freak out. She's... very protective, to say the least. The first time you heard of camp half-blood or the term 'demigod' was when you were 15. You didn't even suspect anything since monsters wouldn't attack as you weren't as powerful as some other demigods. So she took that as an opportunity to keep you safe next to her. But the time comes for everyone and one day, after a big fight with her, you sneaked out, walking all the way to camp. And it wasn't a nice little promenade at all with monsters attacking you left and right every single step.
You only reconciled after the whole thing about your dad getting transformed into a teenage boy. Now you were on pretty good terms again, but her protectiveness hasn't ceased that much.
"I want to. I really do but... She'll definitely ban me from going to see you." You look down. "If she even finds out that in those months I've been in another universe and not at camp she'll probably get into a coma." You scoffed.
"Yeah, but you're an adult now. You are way capable to make your own decisions." Kate sat down next to you and wrapped an arm around your shoulder.
"I know. But the past months we became so close, more close than we've ever been and I don't want to ruin that again." Your eyes are fixed on your lap. You stop the urge to take your fingers to your mouth and bite your nails. Kate sees you getting anxious and she places her hand that wasn't around you over your hands. She speaks with a calm and smooth voice. "Hey, get those bad thoughts out of your head. In the first place, you didn't ruin anything. And secondly, I'm okay with you taking your time. I won't push you to do anything you don't want to." She kisses your temple and then presses your forehead against it.
You lean into her touch and exhale deeply. Then you turn your head, your eyes fix on her collarbone, the sun necklace you gave her is shining on her toned skin. You had a matching one, but with a little moon charm instead of the sun ("That way, it's like we will never be apart." Kate said when she gave it to you.). Then your gaze travels along Kate's features until you meet two oceans rumbling in front of you. "I really love you."
She smiles. "I love you too, baby." She pauses and her sweet smile turns into a cheeky grin. "So no head?"
You chuckle and shake your head. "Can't risk having my whole family hearing your pretty sounds." You peck her nose, making her scrunch it in an absolutely adorable way. "Those are only for me I'm afraid. I can propose some cuddling with a little make out session if you'd like." You suggest.
"Okay. That's fair." She nods in agreement. "Let's get started then, we have so little time and I have to tell you so many things." She climbs on top of you and gently pushes you down the bed. You giggle and your lips press together.
You stayed up all night. Talking about random stuff, taking breaks to make out, and chat again trying to maintain your voices and giggles as quiet as possible.
And it's in these moments where you understand that whatever happens, you won't ever let go of eachother. Because despite the distance you need eachother. The sun and the moon will always need eachother.

Determination
Maybe it's our determination that makes us unique in the universe.
I'm not talking only about having grit, or resolve or even strength of will. I'm talking about the clarity of purpose that we can get sometimes. I mean more how humans can sometimes decide that they're going to do something and they put so much of themselves into completing that goal that it makes even other humans unconsciously take a step back.
The ability or will to throw it all away just to do that one thing. That's the determination that could be unique in the universe.
****
When Ellen hit the sand, the thud was loud enough that the people in the first row of the circle winced.
She lay there stunned under the hot twin suns while her opponent - a tall Gren male - stood there making that huffing squeak sound that stood in for their laughter. "Well then? This is the mighty human? Can't even take one round of The Challenge before she's defeated? He turned away from Ellen and faced the crowd. "Behold! a Human! The creators of the so-called 'wonder weapons' can't even take a hit." He huffed laughter again.
Or rather, he mean to laugh again. Instead, he hand his breath knocked out of him by Ellen's shoulder ramming into his side at full speed. The Gren towered over Ellen, but, coming from a lower gravity world, was much less dense than her. She actually outweighed him by a few kilograms. "Don't end the fight until the fight is over, Tam'itar." Ellen wiped her face and spit to the side. It was tinged with red.
Tam'itar got to his feet with a slight wobble, his reverse articulated legs struggling in the higher gravity. Before the fight began, Tam'itar had demanded that they fight under Ellen's native gravitational pull instead of the much lighter gravity of the Gren homeworld. Tam'itar was showing off. He was so sure that he could win that he was willing to give Ellen the advantage.
Ellen, her crew killed and her ship destroyed, had only one goal.
Survival.
This filled her with a clarity of purpose. The next step was easy.
Live.
Do everything, do anything you can to live.
Before Tam'itar was able to get back into his fighting stance, Ellen launched herself at him again. Using her weight and the higher gravity to her advantage, her shoulder was like a sledgehammer into his complicated hip sockets. She heard and felt a sickening crunch as the hip ball snapped off in the socket.
Screaming, Tam'itar fell to the sand, and did not give up.
Panting from the exertion, it was Ellen's turn to stand over her opponent, her head blocking one of the two suns. "Do you yield?"
Tam'itar reached back with his arms to try and push himself back up, but the moment he tried to put weight on his shattered hip, Ellen noticed the skin under his white fur lose coloring. Whimpering, he fell back to the sand.
Gently, she put her foot on the leg that was only tenuously connected to his shattered hip. Ever so slowly, she put more weight on it. "Do. You. Yield?" She asked again, pressing down on his leg.
He gasped. "Yes! Yes! I yield! Don't kill me, please!"
She immediately released her weight from his leg. Without a look back, she walked towards the exit of the arena. She stood at the locked door, oblivious to the shouts of the crowd behind her and waited.
The door opened and two more Gren ran into the arena carrying a stretcher, completely ignoring her and rushing over to tend to Tam'itar. As she stepped into the dark of the room, a voice called out. "Human Ellen, you won The Challenge."
She squinted in the dark, trying to make out the person who spoke to her. "How many more?"
"If you can defeat 5 more champions, you will win your freedom."
She turned her head and spit again. One of her teeth felt loose. "Bring them. I don't want to be stuck on this rock any longer than I have to be."

♡synopsis: Nishimura Riki. The Robot created by Yang Jungwon himself, a robot that is insanely human like, inside and out. No one could tell he was a robot. However, the Robot had possessed demonly powers, from Satan himself. So I guess you could see it's a half robot. Yang y/n, the younger sister of Jungwon finds herself stuck to this robot 24/7 no matter what she tried, he will always be by her because she's his muse, his world, his love, his obsession.
(PART 2)
✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧♡✧
Jungwon gasped seeing Riki carry inside the unconscious, somewhat bloodied body of his sister. "NI-KI BOT NO! HOW COULD YOU FUCKING KILL MY FUCKING SISTER?! HOW DO YOU CALL THIS LOVE?!!!" He exclaimed, mad as he searched for a weapon. "No no master Yang... she fainted. She saw me take the life of another human and fainted... nothing to worry about, I ran a body scan she was just stressed..." The robot male simply said as he softly laid her down.
Riki eyed her up and down, oh how peaceful she looked when sleeping. He cleaned himself up, taking a human shower. Even Jungwon was in utter shock seeing the robot act so human, not one bit effected by the water. Riki dried his hair as he glanced at Y/n. The girl still dressed in the bloodstained, sweaty clothes. Riki approached her unconscious figure. His hands making it's way to her shirt.
He slipped it off, Then her trousers, as he threw them in the laundry. "NI-KI bot. I need to run a test on- AH WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO MY SISTER... I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF A ROBOT IS ABLE TO MAKE A BABY, BBUT I KNOW MY SISTER CAN'T CARRY A CYBORG CREATURE INSIDE HER." Jungwon yelled as the robot ignored him, clean clothes at hand. "Do robots even have hormones?... hey I need to run a few tests on you so hurry up and don't hurt my sister." Jungwon warned.
The robot remained silent, carrying her to a very fancy, and wonderfully scented bath tub. "God fucksake what did I fucking create... who's the fucking mom- why does it have human parts-... did he steal someone's heart literally- what the fuck is fucking going on-" Jungwon mumbled to himself. Eventually, Y/n woke up. She was clean, dressed in one of her nightgowns and tucked into her bed comfortably. Maybe she was just having a nightmare?
The clothes in her laundry bag said otherwise. Y/n walked down the hallway and glanced into Jungwon's lab. Sitting there was Riki himself a few wires connected to him as Jungwon ran through a few things on a few computers. "It's fucking unbelievable... he's half Man half robot... practically- but that's impossible..." Jungwon mumbled as Y/n stood there, creeped out by the way Riki turned to her. "W-won... you're doing a really bad job as a brother... Either you're careless, irresponsible and shit at science, or you're so over protective to the point you wanted to make my future husband." Y/n said.
"Well... I don't know what you want me to do... if it was a robot completely- I can turn it off, dismantle it and melt it with acid or some shit..." Jungwon started as the robot turned it's head to Jungwon. "B-But- he's not just robot so I can't... a-also I think he's a great guy- he literally dressed you and didn't even hurt you or yknow... glaze your donut?" Jungwon added as y/n stared in shock, throwing her small teddy bear at him.
"OH MY GOD. BAD BROTHER BAD BAD BAD- FIRST YO U LET THAT MURDEROUS LAB RAT FREAK OF NATURE TOUCH ME AND YOU'RE LETTING HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS???" Y/n exclaims as Jungwon scratched his head. "Sis... I tried EVERYTHING. He's just impossible to get rid of trust me..." Jungwon added as Riki stared at him "HEY I'M TRYING TO SUPORT YOUR CASE HERE-" Jungwon yelled, raising his arms in defence.
"HIS CASE? HE IS MEANT TO BE JUST A HUMAN LOOKING LAPTOP." "OH MY GOD Y/N, NI-KI BOT LISTEN. I'M JUST TRYING TO CO EXSIST AND NOT GET MURDERRED. PLEASE." Jungwon finally yelled as y/n sighed. Riki got up when the wires were removed, his hand resting against the wall, his face leaning into hers. "So beautiful up close... Never seen something so beautiful, you can check my database for proof if u want." He simply said as Y/n rolled her eyes.
"You want to feel my kiss? boy you can't touch this." She simply said, her hand softly pushing his chest away. The robot found her cute, following her around everywhere, watching as she pours herself a glass of water, staring in the mirror, pouting and twirling her hair. Or even when she's just randomly working out, or making a snack. "Can you like stop staring?" she asked annoyed as he blinked. Riki then took a seat beside her. "Why don't you love me?" The robot asked as Y/n rolled her eyes. "NI-KI bot.... You're creepy, weird, a robot and in no world is it ever normal for a human to love a clunk of metal." She simply said.
"So you're saying, it isn't love because I can't shed blood for you?... It isn't love because when we kiss there won't be saliva?... Technology's improved darling... and My name is Riki do not call me NI-KI bot." He said, his voice going a whole octave deeper as he slit the skin on his arm, real blood dripping out the slit, the cut itself looking like a human's. "Now should we test with the kiss?" he asked his head tilted a little, as he stared intensely at her. "N-No NI-KI- I-I mean Riki.... you just stay here..." Y/n simply said as she ran off into her bedroom.
Y/n checked that he didn't follow her, and shut her room door. She made her way to her bedroom window, opening it as she looked down. The coast is clear. So she jumped, expecting to have a fairly painful landing that'll be less impactful by the bushes. However, her landing was a little softer. She found herself, staring directly into Riki's eyes as she was indeed in his arms. "Where we off to pretty baby?" The robot man asked, his eyes darkening as he carried her in.

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECIEVE!!! I giveth YET ANOTHER addition to this AU at your behest. Enjoy :)
Previous part here.
━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙ ━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙
When Optimus gave himself to the Well, he knew what he was doing was going to hurt his sparklings. There had been no other option, but once he rejoined the Allspark and integrated with it enough to have a voice, he made his opinions as clear as day. He was forced into a dormant state off and on, as was customary for those who returned to their maker. However, whenever he was roused from his rest, he was highly vocal about his desire to return to the living realm so that he might be with those he left behind. He spent vorns upon vorns bitterly attempting to speak to his fellow Primes to convince them to give him new life. Thankfully, as soon as the threat of the Fallen came into play, they were willing to let him return to life at the cost of him doing their bidding whenever they required it.
To Optimus it felt like an absolute scam, but who was he to reject? Primus would only let him live again if he agreed to give up his memory. His fellows were the only ones who could pull strings to let him return largely unscathed. So if he had to be their lapdog in exchange for the right to life, then he would do what he had to. Besides, in the worst case, he was not against throwing himself back into the Well to avoid being turned into a tool to be used. As such, Optimus's spark was taken from the Well along with the Matrix of leadership and he was given a new frame to inhabit before promptly being thrown to Earth to fight for his life.
Cybertronians and humans present at the battle site took countless videos and pictures as Optimus and the Fallen fought one another with vicious brutality. Even as the battle raged, recordings were being uploaded to Cybertron and consequently the datanet at rapid fire speed. So when Optimus finally hauled himself out of the crater formed from his battle with the Fallen, word was already spreading. The team were on Cybertron reminiscing, but those who were once bound to Optimus sensed that connection stirring. They largely shrugged it off a mere oddity, but the closer Optimus came to arriving on Cybertron, the stronger that pull became. Out of all the sparklings, it was Jack, or rather Sirius who seemed to understand what was happening first.
The eldest of the former humans broke into a mad sprint and fell on his face in his hurry to get to where his spark felt compelled to see to. Bumblebee and Smokescreen were next to pick up the flare from Optimus's end of the bond and promptly began booking it toward where they felt the call was coming from. Rafael, or rather Alnair was similarly quick to get moving and attached himself to his sister as she hurried to take to the skies. Miko, or Tari flew through the skies faster than she ever had before, quickly surpassing her ground bound brethren in her haste. Alnair, from within her cockpit, hurriedly ran scans, desperately reciprocating love and affection and trying to work through tears. None of the sparklings could believe it, not after so long. But they could not deny it, there was no denying the adoration and love that sung in their sparks.
Optimus hardly had a chance to land on the ground before Tari transformed, flinging her brother off in her haste to get to her Sire. She promptly threw herself into Optimus's arms, not doubting for even a moment that it was him. Optimus merely dropped to a knee so that she could reach him better, and he cupped her face, running his digits along her cheeks as he sang softly. Tari wept but leaned into the touch that had long become but a memory. Optimus was back, her Sire was there, touching her face and looking at her with all the love and care in the world. All of her sparkling vorns were spent lost, without guidance. There was always something missing in her life, and she filled that void with aggression and then the family she found with the Wreckers. Now though? She could feel everything coming back together, as if a piece of her spark was being put into its proper place. She clung to Optimus's plating as Alnair stepped forward hesitantly.
The minicon was no fool. He knew that the mech before him was his Sire. But he had been so young when Optimus died. He hardly remembered his Sire even though his spark pulsed in recognition. To him, seeing Optimus was almost like meeting a long dead historical figure. He knew the stories, he knew Optimus's reasoning and choices. Alnair worked in the archives after all. And yet here he was, standing and venting as if he hadn't been dead for vorns. Optimus extending a servo toward him was all that it took to break Alnair from his desperate logical reasoning. He stepped forward slowly, but as soon as he neared the Prime, Optimus drew him in for a hug alongside his sister. He could not stop himself from shedding a few silent tears as his spark cried out, old scars aching now that what was thought lost was returned to him.
Sirius arrived third and skidded to a stop wheezing from exertion. He did not cry, he did not wail. No, he watched Optimus hold his siblings close, and only once Optimus smiled down at him did Sirius step forward and join the hug wordlessly. There was no need for communication between them at the moment. Sirius knew his Sire and had enough of his memories from his youth to feel relief over confliction. Optimus's passing damaged him deeply, but he was old enough to move on and know what his Sire did was worth it. He was willing and able to fill the void as best as he was able. But now that Optimus was back, sheer relief flooded his processors as at last, he no longer needed to remain the firm foundation for his siblings.
Smokescreen was not nearly as composed as Sirius when he arrived. So much stress and having to practically raise his younger siblings alone had him bawling the moment he crashed into Optimus and fit into the rather snug hug. Bumblebee did not cry, but he did squeeze Optimus tightly when he squeezed his way into the hug circle. Optimus for his part sang lovingly for what could have been nanokliks or up to a groon. However when at last all of his sparklings released him, he remained on his knees so that they could refamiliarize themselves with him. In any other situation it would be seen as uncalled for or even intrusive. But as Sirius touched Optimus's servos and mapped them with his digits, not a spark spoke a word. Tari examined Optimus's jetpack, lifting the wings and doing her best to be gentle as memories of flying with her Sire returned to her. Alnair focused on Optimus's windshield, touching the glass and leaning against the Prime to feel his spark. Smokescreen and Bumblebee merely touched Optimus's shoulders, neither needing much more to reaffirm the most basic part of their bond to him.
It was such a small thing, but Optimus did not stop his song as the rest of the team arrived and watched in total shock and awe as the Prime's sparklings acted on instinct to inspect and confirm that he was who their sparks proclaimed him to be. Only once they all settled did he speak.
"You have all grown so much during my absence. I lament that I could not be here to watch you develop, but if you would allow me, I would like to be part of your lives once more."
There was not any hesitation in the sparklings' answers. The team were shaken by their Prime's sudden return and Cybertron was thrown into absolute uproar as Optimus Prime quickly made himself known. Not a single mech on Cybertron was able to do a thing as Optimus took up a position as Head Archivist in the newly established government and then proceeded to go spend time with his sparklings while blowing all of his starting leave. The planet hardly had time to process that he was in fact alive again before Optimus appeared on national TV praising Sirius for achieving his doctorate in neuroscience, remarking fondly on Tari's perfect combat record, and hailing Alnair for becoming his apprentice.
Behind the scenes Optimus made a deal with all of his sparklings, one where he would spend a stellar cycle with each to begin to make up for lost time. He began with Tari simply because she was the most frantic. All of that time was spent with Tari showing Optimus her life and all her work. She had him watch her training, observe her skills in flight, and read through her records just to see her success amongst the records. Throughout it all Optimus showered her in affection, giving her hugs and singing to her on instinct whenever he was pleased. Tari did not care at all that Optimus was reacting to her actions as if she were still a sparkling. She loved it all and had no qualms against bringing her courting partner to meet her Sire. She was too happy about the situation to know when Optimus took her partner aside, putting a servo on their shoulder and smiling a little too wide to be comfortable.
"Treat her well, or you too may learn of the peace found within the Allspark"
The poor bot was terrified and went to Tari shaking. Tari assumed that it was simple nervousness and laughed it off, but Optimus kept smiling and made a point of showing that Tari was his sparkling whenever he could. He was not upset with her courting partner, but to Optimus, Tari was a tiny sparkling last he checked. Letting her go off to do whatever with a bot he did not know was something he needed time to handle.
Bumblebee and Smokscreen were next on his visit list, and the entirety of their gathering was comprised of the two brothers lamenting raising the trio alone. Optimus listened dutifully, offering hugs, cuddles, field comfort, and whatever else was required. He treated them as if they were young, making them energon and letting them unwind after vorns of stress. It was a month filled with tears on Smokescreen's end and centuries worth of stress finally being released from Bee's shoulders. Whenever Optimus wasn't playing therapist, his eldest sparklings took him everywhere and anywhere, showing him Cybertron and doing their best to make a show of their efforts to ensure his vision became reality. It was humorous to the Prime to watch his two eldest bicker over meaningless things before promptly becoming dead serious over different topics in record time. No matter how old they were, Optimus saw them as the two younglings he took under his care.
Chaotic as they were, they did not argue when Optimus went to Sirius next. Sirius for his part was far less excitable than Tari. All he wanted from Optimus was the chance to talk and catch up. And so that was what they did. A whole stellar cycle went by with Sirius sitting with his Sire, drinking diluted and flavored energon while discussing everything and anything in the local garden. Optimus practically beamed as he listened to all Sirius had to say about his life and the happenings on Cybertron. More than once he reached out to hold his sparkling's servos as Sirius spoke. The Prime did grow momentarily bitter over hearing of Sirius's habit of going to June's grave, but he did not let it show. Sirius was his sparkling, and he showed nothing but joy as the eldest of the former humans showed Optimus all his medical tools with glee, bringing back memories of when Sirius was far younger.
If Optimus quietly pulled some strings to ensure Sirius worked at the clinic closest to the archives, not a spark said a word. Sirius was a doctor and Optimus couldn't have been prouder.
Alnair though... he was a different situation. The youngest of the trio did not know Optimus as his elder siblings did. He was too young when Optimus died to know much. And so his time with Optimus amounted to working together in the Archives. Optimus was once an apprentice to Alpha Trion, and so despite the initial awkwardness, Optimus taught Alnair all he knew. The minicon was dead set on trying to leave as soon as possible and get a new line of work, but as Optimus weaved his tales of pre-war Cybertron and dutifully worked to teach Alnair, the youngest of the former humans warmed up to his Sire quickly. By the end of the stellar cycle, Alnair was just as excitable as Tari and bound himself to Optimus as his assistant minicon. Optimus did not object to having his sparkling with him all the time. How could he when FINALLY one of his line saw fit to appreciate his previous occupation prior to the war.
Optimus may or may not have commissioned a few private archival tools for Alnair, but again, that was something none would confirm. Optimus wanted to pamper his sparklings. Not even the Matrix could stand in his way. He was finally home and the sparklings finally had their Sire back. Cybertron was restored, peace achieved, and the people flourishing. What more could Optimus want?
Well family drama was certainly new, and adapting to a brand new era certainly had its downsides, but it couldn't be that bad, right?
Right?

☆ Welcome home Neighbor~! ☆
----------
Human Reader x Welcome Home!
Tonight is the night to confront Home. Or are you too late?..
Chapter 10/?
Word Count: 3,200 out of 31,967
----------
Your blood felt like ice as you stared at Wally, you knew it was Home in front of you, but you couldn't help but still see Wally, someone you thought was your friend.
“Don't go quiet on me now Neighbor... I thought you wanted to have a conversation?..”
You knew you had to say something, so despite your throat feeling tight, and your eyes feeling dry. You spoke through the anxiety.
“...Wiping memories isn't right Home. It doesn't matter what it's for, people deserve to live normally..”
Wally sat back in his chair. The tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with a knife before he sighed and continued.
“You were unhappy before you came here.. Who do you think fixed that?”
You stared deep into Wallys' eyes, searching for any hint of him still remaining. But all you saw was Home.
“...What do you mean?..”
“Don't be daft. You can't even remember your So called friend's names, yet you never paid it any Mind, Did you?”
You felt like you were going to throw up, but you found quickly you couldn't move from the chair Home had set you in. Every time you slightly shifted your arms they reconnected with the chair, as if there were strings attached to your nerves holding you there.
Wally slowly rose from his seat across from you, walking over to where you were sitting slowly.
“In fact… You never even noticed you don't remember your Parent's faces… Am I correct?”
“What… Of course, I remember..!”
You felt angry. Despite your best efforts, however, you couldn't produce more than a scowl at Wally, the chair holding you in your sitting position as Wally neared.
“Then what do they look like? Go on,”
You found yourself frozen. You couldn't speak, your throat felt like it had a snake around it, squeezing every time you tried to think of your parents.
Wally seemed to find this amusing as he finally stood beside you, you craned your neck to look at him fearfully.
“That's what I thought. Now Neighbor, if you wouldn't mind..”
Wally leaned down to make eye contact with you, his hand connecting with your jaw as you were overwhelmed with the same feeling of burning skin that once took hold of your ankles.
“I would like for you to join our lovely Neighborhood.”
---------
Howdy continued to sweep outside of the Bugdega, looking out at the passing sunset as he leaned on his broom.
He felt like he was forgetting something… No, it felt more like he was forgetting about Someone.
As he moved inside his shop, he tried to think about everyone who had passed in and out of his shop throughout the day…
Poppy had passed through to gather more flour and blueberries, he can't seem to remember why, but he knew she was making something for someone. He even had a conversation about how this someone enjoyed her baking…
…Maybe she had baked for Wally?.. That had to have been it, maybe even for Sally... He knew how Sally had a major sweet tooth.
Still though, even that didn't seem to make much sense. If Sally normally had a request for Poppy she would come in herself and purchase the proper ingredients, which she had not done today.
…So who was he forgetting?
His thoughts were interrupted as he heard the chimes on his door ring faintly, he zoned back into reality and turned around to see Eddie with a rather large package outside of the Bugdega.
“...Sorry I took so long Howdy!..”
Eddie curled in on himself as he panted a little, his hands holding onto his knees as he caught his breath. Howdy couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the frazzled mailman before he continued.
“Phew’ As I was sayin’ I had to wait for the storm to pass through before I could deliver this to ya’!”
“Its no worries Eddie, thank ya’ kindly for coming out an’ delivering to me on such short notice!..”
Howdy was kinda shocked at how fast Eddie had brought his produce for the week, he just placed that order today. Eddie looked confused before he pushed himself up from his knees and stood up straight,
“Whaddya mean Howdy? Ya placed this order a few days ago?..”
Howdy was confused, moving one of his hands to scratch his head as he thought... He didn't remember ordering anything, all he remembers ordering recently was a product stock for the upcoming week..
He guess it didn't matter anyways, giving a shrug before shooting Eddie a friendly smile.
“Suppose it slipped my mind!.. No matter, thank ya’ either way Eddie!”
Eddie returned Howdys smile as he began to leave the Bugdega, leaving Howdy to figure out how to move the package inside his shop.
Before he could move it he had to figure out what it was, he didn't remember ordering anything, much less anything this big…
As he grabbed a boxcutter from behind the counter, his leg bumped into the small stool that sat nearby. Howdy absentmindedly wondered why that was there… It wasn't like he sat down much during the day…
…And why did looking at the counter make him feel sad? Like it was missing something resting on it,
As he shook his head he continued outside, he still had a package to open after all. He could move the stool later. As he walked outside to the large package, he first read the label..
It seemed that this was a bed frame and mattress, this only served to raise more questions in Howdys brain. Howdy had no need for a new mattress, much less one that was only a twin-sized one, with his many arms and legs he needed at least a queen-sized…
So why was there a mattress and bed frame at the door of his shop?..
Howdy found himself forgetting.  ---------------
Frank sat in his study for a few hours after Y/N had left, finding himself staring off into space at the clock he had on his wall.
He worried for them, he really did. He knew how terrifying it was to face Home and challenge them on their beliefs, he experienced it firsthand when he first moved in with Eddie.
…Unfortunately, that's also how he knows the most.
‘Curiosity killed the cat, and satisfaction never brought it back’
Frank thought as he stared absentmindedly at a framed picture of him and Eddie before Eddies first Reset.
He still remembers when Eddie returned that day after delivering a package to Wally, he saw the fear and panic written in his eyes and face.
Frank couldn't do anything as he watched Eddie collapse in front of him. He felt so helpless.
Frank sighed and wiped at the tears that had begun to fall down his face as he zoned out, shakily rising from his chair he walked to the living room, Eddie would be home soon and it was his turn to make dinner.
Frank reserved himself to the small task of making a quick dinner, they didn't have a need to eat but it was still nice for the both of them to have a common time to chat and discuss how their day went.
Like clockwork Eddie entered at approximately 8 PM. Despite Frank's clock being broken he knew Eddie started his day as early as 6 and ended at 8. Sometimes returning early if it's a slow day.
Eddie entered and collapsed onto Frank's couch, something he had grown used to over the years of sharing his space with the other man.
Frank didn't mind, he washed his hands before walking over to his husband with a fond smile as he leaned to take his hat from his head before placing a small kiss on his temple.
“...Rough day?..”
Frank spoke softly as he pulled a small blanket from the spot on top of the couch it once rested on, Eddie grumbled in response as he pushed his head further into the pillow he had collapsed onto.
Frank couldn't help but laugh,
“What was that love?..”
Eddie slowly pulled his head up from the pillow, his hair already beginning to come out of its usual stiff shape he styled it in every morning.
“..M’ day was alright’... Had a big package for Howdy, had to wait for th’rain to stop..”
Frank still had a fond smile as he gently lifted Eddie's head and sat down, laying Eddies head in his lap as he settled his hand on top of his head and in his hair. Gently undoing all of Eddie's hard work of styling it.
“..What did Howdy get?.. If you don't mind me asking of course,”
Frank knew how seriously Eddie took privacy in his work, but he couldn't help but wonder what Howdy had ordered for the week. And with Y/N living with him, he was sure it had to be some sort of gift.
Eddie took a moment to respond, blissed out by the feeling of Frank's fingers in his hair.
“I think it was some sort of bed… Dont know why he would be wantin’ a twin sized though, a big guy like him won't fit into it..”
Frank let a small laugh out of his nose as he looked down at Eddie fondly,
“Perhaps it's for Y/N, That's rather thoughtful of him,”
“...Whose Y/N..?”
Franks’ fingers halted all movement through Eddie's hair as he froze, he felt the familiar static take hold of his head as he quickly stood. Disrupting Eddie's peace and tumbling him out of Franks lap.
“Wh-..! Monarch’ where are you?!..”
Frank didn't have time to tell Eddie what was happening as he quickly took off toward his Office. If Eddie had already forgotten Y/N he would soon be next, he didn't dare to think about Howdy and what he must be going through.
He had to get everyone's memory back on track before they all forgot Y/N or worse.
His legs shook as he practically collapsed in front of the drawer connected to his desk as he quickly flung it open. Eddie standing in disheveled shock behind him.
It didn't take long before Frank's fingers gently grazed over the familiar feeling of the notepad.
Quickly pulling it out he skimmed over the pages, Y/Ns face becoming less and less familiar to him by the second.
He read through everything Y/N had written. With Eddie looking over his shoulder reading along as he did so, Frank was so focused on reading to notice Eddie falling to his knees beside Frank.
After a few moments, the static subsided and Frank composed himself enough to turn around and look at his husband, where he saw him collapsed and crying.
“Home made me forget again, I knew this would happen..”
Eddie spoke through choked sobs as Frank moved to console him. After Eddie lost his memory the first Reset, Frank was tasked with reminding him of everything, including their marriage.
Ever since Eddie had taken every precaution to keep him from forgetting again, it was no shock to Frank this would be his reaction to learning it almost happened again.
“...We need to go to Howdy. If we already Forgot imagine the rest of the Town..”
Eddie nodded solemnly, knowing they would have to remind everyone of Y/N, Frank absentmindedly glanced at the notes left by Y/N and couldn't help but smile at the small, child-like doodle they drew for Howdy.
With a final resolve, Frank pushed himself to stand, holding Eddie's hand and helping him up as he did so.
“I'll go tell Howdy. Could you tell the others?.. I imagine Howdy is going to take it the hardest.”
Eddie gave a nod and gave Frank a comforting kiss on the cheek, skimming over the notepad quickly before leaving and grabbing his hat on the way out.
Truth be told Frank didn't know how Howdy was going to react. He knew he and Y/N had a deep connection. Home must have really intertwined and tangled himself to get the whole Town to forget.
…Which also meant Home was more vulnerable, Frank knew he had to act quickly if he had any chance of loosening Homes grip on you.
It didn't take long for Frank to reach Howdys. He just wished he didn't have to pass Home as he did so, especially knowing you were more than likely inside.
…But there was always strength in numbers, so he would have to get more than just himself to protect you.
-----------------
Wasting no time he practically ran to Howdys, on the way he saw Eddie consoling Barnaby as he reminded them of you, Frank knew the feeling all too well. They were all afraid of resets and forgetting others.
Frank practically burst into Howdys shop. Taking no caution as he quickly ran to his office door and knocked, waiting for the bug to answer.
After a few minutes, Howdy did answer the door, wearing his pajamas. If Frank looked behind him he could see the faint shadow of a massive box squeezed to fit inside Howdys already small office.
“I'm sorry to intrude at such a late hour Howdy, But I need to Ask a very important question.”
Howdy looked confused and concerned as he stepped forward, his antennae flicking up in interest at what Frank could be questioning him about so late into the night.
“What's up Frank?.. I ‘avent seen you this riled up since… You know,”
Howdy had an uncomfortable grimace on his face as he hinted at Eddie's last reset, this was good Frank thought. It meant Howdy still remembered resets and wasn't fully gone himself just yet.
 “That actually leads into what I was Going to Ask you Howdy. Do you remember Y/N..?”
Frank took a deep breath as he grounded himself for Howdys response. No matter how many times he had to go through this, no matter how many people got reset.
It didn't stop the aching feeling he had in his chest whenever he saw people remembering again.
It's as if their world stops for a minute as their mind catches up with processing all the lost memories. Before the ripping pain of Homes strings detaching kicks in.
It's a fiery hot feeling that seems to wrack through their very essence of being. If the act of being Reset wasn't traumatizing enough, the feeling of remembering almost made it worse.
However, as he looked at Howdy while holding his breath, none of that happened. Howdy seemed to have no reaction until he dropped to his knees and his breath became frantic.
Frank almost instantly moved to console him as he saw the familiar shaking overtake Howdys body as his memories came flooding back. Howdy even began to sob a little, his sobs coming out choked as he held tightly onto Frank's shirt.
After a few moments, Howdy regained his ability to speak, shakily asking Frank,
“...What time is it?..”
Frank didn't have a watch, so the best he could do was a rough estimate.
“..About 8:30 PM.. Y/N went to Home about 6.”
Howdy took a deep breath before looking into Franks eyes, a look of hope spreading across his face briefly before disappearing as quickly as it came.
“So theres still time?.. Time to stop the reset?..”
“Theres always time.”
Frank stood and helped Howdy up as he did so,
“I already sent Eddie to gather the others. They should be remembering Y/N now. Home is vulnerable, we need to take action while we can.”
Howdy looked nervous as Frank moved to leave Howdys store, Howdy quickly grabbed a hair tie and his orange apron to tie above his pajamas. He tied up his hair as he followed Frank,
“...We need to take action while we all remember.”
“..Indeed we do.”
Frank didn't notice Howdy grabbing a small lighter before they exited his shop into the cover of night.  -----------------
Eddie had gathered the other Neighbors into Franks' home, Frank and Howdy being the last to arrive. Frank could hear the worried mutters before Sally spoke above the rest.
“It doesn't matter How we do it!.. We need to get Y/N out of there Right now!..”
“Sweetheart’ you're not taking into account what could happen to us if we try to do that!.. For all we know Home could very well be waitin’ for us to rush into action..!”
He could hear the mixed voices of Sally and Poppy arguing, something they often did when under high stress. Like a mother and child arguing.
The room seemed to go quiet as Howdy walked in, however. The whole town knew how close the two were, and they almost seemed ready to follow whatever he said.
“...We need to take action as quick as possible. I don't wanna do it neither’”
Howdy turned to look at Poppy who was once arguing with Sally,
“But we don't got much choice. If we wait any longer Y/N could very well not be themself anymore.”
Howdy had slight eye bags under his eyes from just how much he was crying. The fabric that was his skin seemed to take the tears and let them sink into it. Adding onto his disheveled appearance.
“Now, I can go in and confront Home myself. But I need ya’ll to promise me you'll grab Y/N.”
Howdy looked at the others with a serious expression. Barnaby was quick to speak up at Howdys statement, stepping forward through the crowd. His eyebrows furrowed.
“If ya think I'm gonna have any part in your suicide mission you got another thing comin’ Howdy.”
Barnaby practically growled as he stepped closer to the bug man. A stern and serious expression on his face.
  “Ill help ya confront Home, the others can grab Y/N, but I ain't lettin’ ya put yourself in that high of danger for the fleeting chance it'll save them.”
Howdy looked as if he was about to cry as Barnaby continued to speak. Clearly overtaken with emotions.
“...I just want them to be safe Barn’s… I don't know what I would do if they..-”
Barnaby pulled Howdy into a hug as Howdy was speaking, He knew what he was going to say, and didnt want to think of what would happen to you if they didnt make it on time.
Barnaby pulled away from the hug and turned to their neighbors behind them.
“So its settled. Me an Howdy will distract Home and get Y/N outta there..”
Eddie and Julie looked nervous as Barnaby and Howdy finalized the plan, Julie spoke after a minute.
“...What about Wally?..”
Barnaby had a sorrowful expression on his face as he turned to his friend, moving to put a hand on her shoulder.
“We’ll get him outta there too.. I promise.”
Julie sniffled and wiped at her tears before giving Barnaby a determined smile, the overall morale in the group seeming to increase at the thought of recovering Wally and Y/N by the end of this.
“Let's get ready gang, we got a long night ahead of us.”

I love your OCS! Can I request something where Matthew is sick, but it's not his shadow, is just some good ol' human tummy bug and he's all over the place not knowing what to do? With Seline as caretaker? - 🎃
Aww thank you for the request, nonnie! My first for the werwolf story, I'm so excited. Here you go.^^
Contains emeto and mentions of scat.
Stomach flu
Seline wasn’t sure how or when it happened that Matthew now accompanied her from classes back home, but somehow it had become routine before she even realized. Since the day he stumbled upon her and pretty much tore himself to pieces with his shadow to protect her from a random threat, he basically made it his mission to be around in the afternoon hours. How it fit his schedule, she had no idea. Somehow he was simply there - and she suspected he didn’t follow his classes nearly as reliably as he did hers.
So she didn’t wonder or say anything. She didn’t feel obligated to make herself especially available - it wasn’t as if she invited him over - but she didn’t protest his presence. But evenings suddenly became their evenings, with her sitting by the central dining table connected to the living room, working on her laptop and Matthew dozing on her couch or flipping through her Netflix account. When she was done studying or no inspiration came to her for new songs - self-made songs were the most effective for magic - she would sit a few meters away beside him and watch as well.
Seline only realized how much of a routine it had become when something disturbed it. Like today.
Matthew was restless. He was shifting on the couch like he was sitting on a bee hive and he had that angry scowl on his face she associated with difficult days with his shadow. Except he was cautious with his shadow around her - they didn’t have an incident inside her apartment. As if her defensive magic woven into the floor now worked more in his favour, clearing his mind. Which was a good thing, natural thing, since witches usually provided comfort and calmness to their wolves. But they weren’t a pack and she wasn’t his witch or he her wolf - here they were just two students, bounded by a secret they never talked about. Somehow it mattered very little here and she liked it that way.
Seline was biting her lip, looking up from her laptop occasionally. She wanted to ask him what was wrong but didn’t know how well he would take it. Maybe the best she could do was give his discomfort privacy, no matter what it was.
Suddenly Matthew stood up, expression drawn and uncomfortable, hand on his belly. Then he bolted to the bathroom. Seline watched him go, concerned.
She watched out for gagging noises, but none of that came. Maybe she was reading too much into this. Would he tell her if he was sick? Wolf and witch relationships aside, if her stomach bothered her, she would rather die of emberassment than admit it. It was an intimate, awkward thing, stomach issues, so she bet he would rather be left alone if something was wrong.
You can only offer what you would like yourself. She was aware she wouldn’t know what would help him. How can you spend evenings with a person each day and not know this?
The bathroom door opened abruptly, but the followed steps were shuffling and slow. Matthew dragged himself on the hallway to lean against the wall across from her. Her gaze flickered to him, trying to be inconspicuous.
Matthew was sweating buckets, dark red hair plastered to his face. He was usually pale, but now he was glistening, freckles standing out on his cheeks and nose, his arms wrapped around his stomach. He was swaying, bending forward a little.
“Seline.”
She turned towards him immediately. “Matt? Hey, what’s wrong?”
He gulped and ran a hand over his face. “Ugh. I-I don’t know? It’s just-” he looked away, flushing, “my stomach really fucking hurts.”
“Did you throw up?” she asked, eyebrows drawing together.
“No. But it feels like my guts fucking exploded,” he threw a sheepish look toward the bathroom. Seline noted he closed the door behind himself, which he usually wouldn’t bother with. “...and it didn’t help at all.”
“Oh.” Seline nodded, trying to figure out a sensitive, emphatic way to talk about this without embarrassing him or getting squicked out herself. “You know what? I have these herbal drops that help with indigestion? They are a miracle thing, I swear.”
She brushed past him towards the kitchen for her yellow bottled drops. Learned to use the herbal things from her mother and knew a really good doctor who made herbal drops from his own garden. Her whole family used it for years for all kinds of issues. It was always her go-to before any hard-on medication.
Counting 30 drops for herself and adding 20 more for Matthew’s weight into a bit of water, she swiftly returned with the glass.
Matthew slid down the wall on the floor, pulling his knees towards himself and hugged them close, face hidden in the crook of his arm.
Seline crouched down beside him, her heart swelling up at the sight. “Come on. Drink this. Maybe it will spare you from throwing up.”
He eyed her with glossy eyes. This close to him, the smell of sickness and sweat hit her senses, and she suppressed a grimace. Matthew took the glass of water and took a tentative sip. “Hmm. Is this a witchy concoction?”
“Just regular human medicine and traditional herbal knowledge,” she snorted at him. “If it worked for them a few hundred years ago, it will work for you now.”
Matthew nodded and emptied the glass. She took it from him before he could drop it on the floor, hunching over himself.
“You will feel better in a minute,” she promised, doubting words immediately. “Come on, up from the floor. Let’s lie you down on the couch.” She wrapped her hands around his arm, coaxing him to stand. He swayed unsteadily as he got up. Better get him sitting down now, or he might not get up on his own soon.
The redhead sprawled on the couch, but then moaned at the movement and curled up on his side instead, shivering. Seline noted how he hugged his stomach protectively and pulled his hoodie up, nuzzling his face into the couch’s decorative pillow. “I just don’t get it. What’s wrong with me?”
She sat down across from him on the edge of the couch. “You have been handling your shadow pretty well lately, right? Keeping it down so consistently. Ever managed that before?”
Matthew took a shuddering breath, his bleary eyes focusing on her. He squinted against the light of the living room lamp over him. “No?”
“Well, there you have it. Congratulations! You managed to keep your shadow down enough to catch a stomach flu. It’s been going around the campus, I hear.”
“Congratulations for sure,” Matthew grumbled, huddling further into himself, squeezing his eyes shut.
Seline didn’t really have a reason or good excuse to stay beside him, but she didn’t feel like leaving at all. Shutting off the light, she brought her laptop to her lap, sitting cross-legged beside Matthew. This way, she could keep an eye on him all the time.
The noises his stomach was making didn’t get any better, though. If anything, they grew worse with each passing minute, gurgling and whining. Matthew wasn’t asleep either, hiding his face in the pillows and rubbing his stomach angrily.
A burp sneaked past his lips. Matt’s eyes flew open and he coughed a small “Sorry.”
“It’s okay. Do whatever you need to,” she said. She couldn’t focus on her work at all, watching all the telltale signs of oncoming sickness.
Closing her laptop resolutely, she threw it on the nearby table and fetched a trashcan. Better be safe than sorry.
Matthew looked horrified at the trashcan, sitting upright to lean against the backrest. He scowled at her and then burped instead whatever he wanted to say, pushing a hand over his mouth.
“I’m-m not gonna throw up,” he declared, a fighting glint in his eyes. He was radiating heat. She could feel it even standing up. She cracked the window open and then sat beside him, pushing the trashcan nearer with her foot.
He glared at her and then belched. A shiver ran through him and he swallowed hard. His breaths came in short, panting huffs.
Then he pitched forward with a painful-sounding retch. Seline quickly grabbed the trashcan and brought it close, just in time for him to hunch over it. Another retch wracked his body and he lurched violently over the trashcan. Nothing came up. Only a few drops of saliva hang from his lips.
“Mattie. You are doing fine. Psshh. Just let it happen.” She pulled his hoodie down and dared to put a hand on his back, rubbing gently.
The movement coaxed up another burp. Matthew panted over the trashcan, eyes opening and shutting hard. He grimaced and spat into the bag, looking offended and angry to boot.
“I’m sorry.”
“Seriously, you don’t-”
“For real,” he interrupted, looking at her from the side. “I didn’t mean to come to your place to hurl. I never mean it and it somehow always happens and I’m really sorry. I can leave if you-”
“Oh, shut it,” she said with a small grin. “It’s okay. I’m not letting you leave like this. So stay put and get better.”
He smiled slightly in return, then grimaced. “Seline?”
“Yes?”
“I hate this.”
She laughed softly at that and leaned closer. Matthew took the trashcan from her hands and buried his head inside it. Putting both her hands on his back, she felt his whole spine shake with the next lurch that finally brought chunky liquid out. She winced as it splashed against the plastic.
A slight pause came. Matthew lifted his head hesitantly. His nose was running and there was vomit hanging from his lips and chin.
Seline patted his arm. “Be right back.” She hurried to get a paper roll from the kitchen before sliding behind Matthew. He had his feet planted on the floor, trashcan between his knees, head hanging low over it, looking helpless and lost. But he sighed at her touch.
She offered him one of the papers, but his grip on the trashcan didn’t loosen one bit. She gave up and wiped his chin herself, catching all the droplets and throwing the crumpled sheet into the trash. “There you go. You are alright.”
Matthew stayed silent, blinking hazily. Then his back arched and he was heaving again. She raised herself on her knees with his back in between and rubbed at the sweaty pullover.
When he pitched forward with a loud throaty gurgle, she sneaked a hand under his hoodie, over his stomach. Seline wasn’t sure what was allowed or not, but he didn’t protest her administrations, so she went with the feeling. His middle was bloated and tense under her hand, puffed out despite all the emptying his body been doing from both ends.
Matthew moaned against her and she could feel his stomach muscles clenching against her hand. She kneaded against the gurgly organ, which ushered a burp out and a handful of milky sickness. At least it was more watery now, coming easier.
Matthew gagged and heaved, a torrent of liquid rushing out. He was left coughing and catching his breath for a few more minutes, even when he came up empty. Then he let go of the trashcan and tipped back, unknowingly leaning against her chest. She squicked quietly and laughed. “Okay, okay, easy, big guy.”
Seline slid from behind him and helped him ease against the couch until he was lying down, propped up on two pillows. When she stood up to get rid of the stinking bag, she felt a tug on her sleeve.
“Where-...are you…?” Matthew blinked sleepily, dazed and confused. It wasn’t fair. Why did she suddenly feel so protective of him? His dark brown eyes looked like big chocolate cookies, lost in his ashen face.
Taking mercy on him, she twisted the bag shut and pushed it aside, sitting down next to his head. “Shhh. I’m not going anywhere.”
They sat in silence as Matthew took deep breaths, his chest rising and falling irregularly before evening out. His eyes slid shut and he reached out a hand towards her. Seline could do nothing but take it, holding it over his shoulder. Effectively trapped beside him.
Pretty sure he would never allow himself such a touch if he was fully coherent. But with the fever raging against him and with how dizzy and exhausted he was after the bounds of vomiting, she could see a completely different side to her gruff red-haired protector. Protector? She still thought his shadow was more of a hindrance to him, but he was getting better. This human weakness was proof.
She slipped her fingers over his forehead, pulling the sweaty strands from his face. Then she combed them through his hair.
Matt grumbled softly, sounding content.

Pairing: Rhinedottir x Gn!Reader
Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI, Dark Content, Rhinedottir uses She/Her Pronouns, Reader uses No Pronouns, Abusive Relationship, Abuse/Assault, Rhinedottir is a bitch (affectionate), Gender Neutral Reader, Human Experimentation, Manipulation, Less than 1k idk i wrote this in tumblr drafts lmao.
A/n: Okay, so I am writing a longer Rhine thing but for now I needed to get this out of my brain and into the wild. A quick forewarning, Rhine in this is very much made with my personal headcanons in mind so just please be aware of that. I know she hasn't made an official appearance but with how much we've heard about her in lore i cannot stop myself from being obsessed. Please, make sure you read all the warnings before reading. Thanks!
Tagging: @auphelia
Impatient. Chatty. Annoying. These are just some of the words Rhine would use to describe you. There were no buts, just Rhine and her disgust which permeated the walls of her lab. She looked over her notes again, and again, until she’d concluded that she was indeed dissatisfied with the work you both had done. Well, her work, but you were willing enough. Sadly as much as she loathed the idea of rethinking her strategy, she had no other choice.
In the meantime Rhine had no option but to map out what needed to be done and with what. As she thought it out in her mind, connecting dots that others would find irrelevant, her ears grew warm from the surrounding buzz of the room. The lack of sound often seemed the loudest at times to some. Although Rhine would disagree. The empty air was needed, a necessary measure. While others found comfort in idle chit chat she saw it nothing more than a distraction. Talking often got in the way of more important things, such as moments like this.
The silence was nice, forgiving even, but of course, you had to open that trap of yours. She nearly lost her composure listening to your mindless chatter sometimes. Of course her best test subject would be the most troublesome of them all. At times she wished she’d make a mistake—an impossible yet comforting thought—and “accidentally” end the experiment early. Never mind how utterly unlikely that would be. It’s that thought which was ripped from her upon hearing you ask another loud and idiotic question.
“What are you doing, Miss.Rhine?” Your voice is sweet with an ugly aftertaste.
She ignores you but her eye twitches.
Absolutely frustrating.
You press further, asking why she’s ignoring you, and it isn’t long before she’s letting out a growl.
She drops her clipboard and lunges a hand towards your face, forcing your gaze at hers. Her long, dirty nails dig into your cheeks causing them to hurt just enough to shut you up.
“I will cut out your tongue if you do not silence it.” She snapped.
Silence finally thickened the surrounding air, staining a reminder into your throat as you swallowed hard. Rhine was usually patient, something she had to force herself to be after many years with you, but you had a way of testing her limits. Your voice was just one of her many irritants. She scoffed and let go of your face roughly, recklessly throwing back your head till it hit the surface behind you. Finally, she could get back to the task at hand, she thought to herself.
Sadly, she made the mistake of glancing over at your teary eyed face. You averted your eyes the instant hers locked onto yours. You sniffled and flinched as she moved her hand to pinch her nose. God, you were so fucking insufferable. It was always something with you. Well, she very well couldn't continue her work if she didn't have a proper subject.
Reluctantly she stood up and scooped you up into her arms and sighed loudly. "Stop crying."
You began to cry harder and she groaned out loud. Rocking you in her arms she stood still aside from the very mechanical rocking movements. Rhine had better things to do than coddle you, she couldn't let herself get into the habit of spoiling you. No, that would be most troublesome. It was only a few moments before you were a puddle in her arms, quiet and reserved. She could finally get back to the job at hand. Just as she started reading over her notes, again, she caught herself scowling down at you.
She tightened her jaw, grinding down on her teeth. Had she gone soft? Weak in the knees for some nobody. The mere idea left a sour taste in her mouth. Had Rhine finally fallen from grace? No, such things she reassured herself. Besides, much work was to be done and she very well couldn't be bothered to dwell on useless worries such as that. For now she supposed it was alright, it was keeping you quiet, after all. I suppose. She was not motherly by any means, but she could at least pretend long enough to shut you up.

Question: if Miss Raven (your OC) was put under Malleus' sleep spell like everyone else, what would she be dreaming about?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Miss Raven would dream of the idyllic fairy tale world of a Disney animated film or musical production (including spontaneous song-and-dance sequences and dramatic soliloquies). Think like Enchanted!😂 She'd be the main character (freed of her curse, of course), able to spend her days singing in meadows, picking flowers, eating fresh bread (she shares with the local priest named Rollo), and sharing stories with the local townspeople. Oh, but what's this? An invitation to a grand ball has arrived for her! Miss Raven had better dress nicely for her big debut. Her friends are there to help--patient Silver with his animal friends (the mice can sew, and the birds make perfect bows!), compassionate Kalim with his endless smiles and budget, clever Ortho searching up the latest fashion trends to formulate the best look for her, and... Deuce who's there for moral support~ When the night of the ball comes, her Uncle Crowley can lead her in by the arm, warning her to have fun, but remember to be ready to go home by midnight or her father will worry. Her father, her creator, her mentor, the Storyteller--he's still alive in the dream, and she lives happily with him and her Uncle. Miss Raven makes the promise and skips off to enjoy herself, not knowing that she just may find not just fun, but also the prince of her dreams. (Who that is exactly, I'll leave that up to your imagination 🤡 Maybe it's an eel butler, maybe it's a huntsman maybe it's a lion)
(Malleus is off in some secluded corner of the ball, carefully observing her from a distance. Miss Raven was often the one weaving these stories--but now the roles have been reversed, with Malleus as the weaver and Raven as the character in the tale that has been woven. "Sweet dreams, young Crowley. Dream on, forever and ever.")
Basically, it's the kind of nice, peaceful life she expected she'd have when she first turned into a human.) The Miss Raven we know of now has become a little jaded and pessimistic from her life experiences like constantly being around the troublesome students of NRC. Despite this, she’s still a kid at heart and wants to believe in, and hope for, the best in others (though she tries desperately to cover these parts of herself up so she can appear as mature and strong to her peers). That's why her version of a “happy ending" reflects the more girlishly innocent, naive side to her, just like the stories she likes to write.
She's wished for her own happiness for so long, I think she'd easily fall into the trap and not realize it's all fake. As one wise and hopelessly optimistic Disney princess put it: "Everybody wants to live happily ever after." It would take some outside interference or dream world anomalies for her to realize that something is 'off' and snap out of it.
Bonus: I’ve been thinking about m!Raven lately (from an April Fools Day blog event), so I’ll talk a little about him too!
(Male) Raven’s idea of a happy ending is like an amalgamate of OG!Raven’s wishes and Vil’s desire to play the hero. Like the original Raven, m!Raven would be free of his curse in the dream. His ideal life has more adventure than OG!Raven’s 😂 and he gets to be a local pretty boy or something— indulge in his own markedly selfish desires whenever he wishes to.
Instead of being a pauper turned princess attending a ball, m!Raven wants to be the heroic prince the kingdom is throwing the ball to celebrate. He loves having the freedom to galavant and flirt among his subjects—but hey, who’s to say he won’t find a meaningful connection amongst all those in attendance? A partner to soothe the wild, wayward soul of the raven prince?

Oh man I looove this game so far, I played it the other day and was instantly hooked <33333 I hope your health continues to improve as that’s the most important thing <33333 I did have a question for upcoming chapters, is the MC’s ex possibly going to make an appearance? <<>> And if so, how would the RO’s react? <33333
Hey! Thank you for this ask and sorry it’s taken a long while to reply. The answer is that MCs ex isn’t going to show up. I think Cerri is all the ex we can handle, and there’s going to be enough drama in the dome, but I thought it would be fun to explore how the ROs would react if it did happen…
Rota: Rota would be challenging the ex to a duel within the first hour, absolutely no doubt. Or maybe an arm wrestle. She wouldn’t feel jealous in the usual (human) definition - but she would definitely want to ensure she was considered the  most powerful by her loved one. The dome would probably turn into a Valkyrie olympics. There would be spear throwing, body carrying, pegasus flying fun all day every day. Consider your ex exhausted and ready to get out of there. Fast.
Alex: His protection mode would crank up to the max. He knows all about difficult exes and would be keeping a constant eye on the situation to make sure MC wasn’t upset in any way. Expect lots of low level growling and protective body postures if there’s any sign of trouble. Always wanted a wolf boy by your side 24/7? You got it. Unless you don’t want it. Then he’ll back off, because he’s a protective but respectful wolf boy, although expect one bright blue eye on the situation at all times (from a distance).
Abe: Abe wouldn’t know how to react to an ex. His general lack of confidence in love would mean that he wouldn’t position himself in competition. Instead he’d quietly observe what was happening, all the while being civil and polite. He’d be sat in a corner with a book, every inch the quiet pacifist. But his eyes wouldn’t be taking in a single word. Instead they’d be watching the ex’s every move silently. His main priority would be MCs safety, and if he had any concerns about that then a very different side of Abe would appear. The ex would need to watch their back…
Eli: Eli doesn’t have a jealous bone in his body. He’s more likely to flirt with an ex than get into any kind of confrontation with them from a jealousy perspective. But… if MC’s ex did anything at all to hurt them then Eli would be quick to speak up and to put the ex in their place. MC would suddenly find themselves with an elf shaped companion by their sides at all time, ready to step in if needed and to stop anything else hurtful happening.
Aayush: Aayush would be jealous from the moment the ex stepped into the dome, to the moment they left. The jealousy wouldn’t show through aggressive behaviour, he’s far too classy for that. Instead he would be extra attentive of MC, making sure they had everything they needed at every moment of every day. You want the model of the perfect boyfriend? Good news, you’ve got it. His jealousy comes from a deep insecurity that he isn’t good enough. He can’t see the sunshine. Hell, he can’t even eat a meal with MC. If the ex can offer a life he can’t then it’s going to hurt, and he’ll be looking for some reassurance.
Catarina: Catarina has been burned by a partner’s ex in the past when she found out her partner was cheating on her with an ex. Although Catarina isn’t openly jealous and generally oozes calm and collected confidence, an ex arriving would push all of the wrong buttons and a different side of her would emerge. She’d need verbal and physical reassurance that MC was still into, and if that was absent she’d probably retreat into herself and put a barrier up. If it was clear there was no emotional connection with the ex it would be a different story. At that point Catarina would just be looking out for them potentially hurting MC, and would have a spell ready if they did.
Cerri: Hmm, imagine if Cerri caught feelings and then MCs ex appeared. I wonder how our tempestuous she-wolf would react? Spoilers - not well. Cue almost continual growling in their direction, a glare so cold it could freeze the bahamas, and confrontation at every possible moment. Cerri will protect the people she cares about to the death, and the ex would probably be safest walking straight back out of the dome again. Fast.

okay fuck it. fantasy shzrks (werewolf shizuku x vampire rui x dragon tsukasa) hcs because I can't get them off my mind.
I think that they would all live in this massive mansion that rui inherited from his parents. shiho and saki would be there too
it is incredibly easy to conceal vampirism for rui compared to the other two, especially because rui is so observant (and a little bit of a perfectionist...). contacts and sunscreen will do the trick and he can usually get away with telling someone he just has long canines. While he does get sluggish when he has to go out during the day (on account of. nocturnal) that doesn't really reveal much. most people just think he's just not a morning person.
While Shizuku does have a form that appears perfectly human, it takes a lot of energy for her to maintain that, so she prefers to stay in okamimi form (wolf ears & tail, slit pupils, larger canines, slightly longer hair and slight vocal changes). to hide this she'll usually just tuck her tail away in a long skirt/pants and wear a hat or headband. Also when she is in her wolf form while she does remain a shade of teal it looks enough like a pale gray for her to pass as a wolf or a large dog.
which, if i may paint you a picture: rui is out with shizuku and they are trying to pass as a human and a dog.
"aww cute dog what breed is she :)"
"uh uhhh uhhhhhh. gray" *running*
ANYWAY. for tsukasa trying to pass as human is a FUCKING NIGHTMARE, mainly because his wings and tail are MASSIVE. she can fold her wings against her back but it takes some careful precision and layering to hide it properly. what to do if no layers can be visible? duct tape. ❌ saran wrap. ❌ fabric padding beneath the clothes. ✅ usually his tail will get wrapped up in that too but sometimes on days he feels like wearing them he'll hide it in the frills of a fluffy long dress. usually long sleeves and pants will hide the scales but if that's not an option? sfx makeup is a specialty of both rui and shizuku's. (Each time they do that Tsukasa asks if they can make his arms look more muscular. They won't.)
All 3 of them are capable of animal transformation, shizuku a wolf as stated above, Rui a bat and Tsukasa a dragon.
shizuku is a wolf but she behaves like a large dog. Rui and Tsukasa are constantly getting snuggles from her. they will play with her like a dog. they will throw sticks in the forest and she will get lost trying to find them and she will howl for them and they'll effectively be playing marco polo til they find her and she gets SO clingy once she's gotten lost and scared <3
all that said, shizuku is really only comfortable being in her full wolf form around rui and tsukasa (and shiho). As such, full moon transformations tend to be hard on her. It's a forced transformation which makes it more painful and harder on her physically, and makes her more prone to violence. It scares her and she tends to be very confused and distressed during these transformations.
This is largely because she already faces so much backlash and disdain when she acts like herself as a human. And it still does affect her. As a seasoned idol, she knows that if she is something dangerous, something "ugly", it could spell disaster for her. This is why she takes care to make sure mmj doesn't know about her werewolf status, and much less any of her fans.
There are two people, though, that Shizuku can find solace around- Rui and Tsukasa, who don't react to her with disgust no matter what. (Obviously also shiho but 1. this is a shizuruikasa post and 2. shiho is also a wolf during shizukus transformations, so,,)
Rui and Tsukasa will do whatever they can to keep Shizuku safe during not just the night of the moon but the gibbous nights preceding and following it. Also, though, this often entails emotional support. which is effectively treating her like a massive puppy. i talked about this four paragraphs above I just didn't know how to connect the two
Shizuku gains less and less control over her ability to shift between forms as the full moon approaches (and as it begins to wane). During these nights she'll be much more tired, impulsive and irritable, and it becomes difficult for her to focus on things which is why at a certain point she'll stay home and her partners will take care of her like she's sick.
Rui will often opt to turn into a bat whenever he's stressed or anxious. which happens a lot because he's rui.
Rui can't feed off his partners due to them being different creatures- if he did he'd be turned, but he's already a vampire, and that would lead to some kind of fucked up chimera with a shit ton of complications, on the off chance it didn't just kill him. Vampires can feed off other vampires, so he'll often meet up with Mizuki to feed. Mizuki also has connections with Mafuyu who has connections with hospitals so he has a pretty solid supply.
While he doesn't need blood on the daily the way most other creatures diet's demand food (usually a substantial amount of blood about once a week will keep him fed fine), he will still sometimes go way longer than he should without it, which often makes him spiral. because there are occasions, though few and far between, where he can't get donated blood for one reason or another and he does have to attack humans. he hates doing this, but he needs the sustenance lest he get violent and aggressive.
Often this results in shizuku and tsukasa having to wrestle him into eating or helping him deal with the emotional ramifications of having to feed off a human.
While vampires need to consume blood, they are perfectly capable of eating anything else- it just lacks nutritional value for them (unless it contains blood somehow, but it's usually animal blood and therefore not quite as good). shizuku and tsukasa bring him candy whenever they can and rui collects the containers (something to do with your time when you're immortal).
circling back around to the "whenever rui has a bad day he turns into a bat", he will also often find places to hide in these instances. He is, however, a creature of habit. shizuku and/or tsukasa have come into his room, looked under his bed, found him hanging there in bat form and coaxed him out to talk through whatever happened more times than he would like to admit.
stew caca <3 he is capable of transforming into a moderately sized dragon. in both his forms he has wings so he can fly, but his dragon form is much more suited to such an activity, and he can fly higher and longer. he can also support more weight! sometimes shizuku and tsukasa get rides (saki is priority, though. sorry.)
While I did say above that Tsukasa does hide her draconic features from time to time, it is very difficult and often times she will just go out like that- this is a universe where fantastical creatures are known to exist, and Tsukasa has the privilege of being a type of creature that is largely respected.
Why is it, then, that he hides these features? sometimes he prefers to be seen past his hybrid status. as an esteemed actor and a creature that gets marveled at like a zoo animal, he doesn't...quite feel like he can form proper bonds with people. for a while she repressed that desire, but reuniting with Shizuku and meeting Rui rekindled it as they treated her with respect. As you can likely imagine, this means that Tsukasa is very comfortable around shizuku and rui for that reason- he feels like he's truly connected with them.
umm some miscellaneous abilities. tsukasa is capable of breathing fire in dragon form and manipulating it in hybrid form. He also has really good vision. think like a hawk. flying in the air needs to be able to see. rui is capable of echolocation as a bat and also has a less powerful sort of haemokinesis that serves mostly to allow him to intake as much blood as possible in a short time, although he doesn't like to use it. He is also quiet as fuck nobody can hear his footsteps. shizuku is ridiculously fast and also very resistant to the cold, like, supernaturally resistant to it. This isn't really a werewolf thing, but I think she should get to have some kind of hydro/cryokinetic abilities. because like. snow... wolves. maybe within a certain distance of her body she can make air moisture freeze into snow :3

Don't Scare Me Like That!
@flashfictionfridayofficial
Fandom: Doodle World (Roblox)
Words: 750
Tumblr media
Quincy panted, scanning his line of sight for any more Shadow Clan warriors. Every time he thought he was safe, another one leapt from the darkness, daggers swinging wildly. His clothes were starting to bear tears and cuts from when one of those daggers had gotten a bit too close and actually connected.
He was clutching a Doodle Capsule close to his chest, ready to hurl it at whatever he saw moving. He wasn't sure which Doodle of his the Capsule actually had inside, but he was in too much danger to give a damn.
"Horbeast, do you see any more of those guys?" he asked his loyal Doodle, standing faithfully at his back.
Horbeast responded with a growl in the negative, though the brilliant flash of magenta light from a few blocks away let Quincy know that the battle wasn't quite over yet.
Quincy ran towards the source of the Awakening, ducking through alleyways and jumping over fallen debris, Horbeast dropping onto all fours to give chase.
Rounding a corner, pink glittering smoke was tossed into his eyes with a gust of a Doodle's artificial wind. Quincy coughed uncontrollably, trying to squint past the smoke to analyze the situation. He was just barely able to make out the silhouette of an Awakened Partybug and that of its Tamer, a tall man with a long jacket to protect him from the cold.
Quincy tossed a cautionary glance behind him, but saw that the pink smoke had surrounded him, pressing in on all sides to disorient him. Every time he breathed in the slightest bit of the gas, it attacked his lungs and made him cough until he needed to gasp for air, which only made him cough again, trapping him in a vicious cycle.
He couldn't see a thing no matter where he looked. A Shadow Clan warrior could easily sneak up behind him and--
A firm immobilizing grab at Quincy's wrist. Adrenaline surged through his veins, spreading through his body in than a second, his pulse quickening and his lungs working harder to draw in air. He spun on his heel, turning around to throw a punch at his assailant and at least give himself a fighting chance.
His fist made contact with the crunch of breaking cartilage.
The voice that squeaked out in pain was familiar, feminine. They let go of his wrist and fell back onto the ground, and although Quincy couldn't see their face, regret quickly set in when he realized who he had just attacked.
"Suzie?"
"Ow ow ow ow OW OW OW--!" Suzie quietly yelped in pain to avoid drawing more attention to the two than had already been drawn.
"Holy Louis-- Suzie, I'm so sorry. I-I didn't realize you were there, and I--"
Quincy was interrupted by Horbeast dropping onto all fours and tossing him onto its back. It scooped up Suzie in one of its strong arms and ran forward out of the smoke, not stopping until it was absolutely sure its two humans were in a safe spot.
Horbeast carefully sat Suzie down, then allowed Quincy to slide off its back."Suzie! Suzie, are you okay?" Quincy said, rushing over to her side.
"I'm fine!" Suzie said, chipper as ever, "It's just a broken nose!"
Blood was leaking from one of her nostrils, flowing down her face. She wiped her mouth on her dirty jacket sleeve, staining it even more than it already was and making the blood smear across her upper lip.
There was a cut just barely underneath one of her eyes from the knife of a rogue assassin. Quincy got chills as he imagined what would've happened if that knife had struck just a few inches upward, though he hopes the shivering was just because of the cold.
"We need to get you to a doctor," Quincy said, partially to himself, "But Icyridge--"
"Lemme guess. Icyridge doesn't have doctors."
"I don't think so, no."
"It's fine. We can take care of it when this is all over."
Suzie pushed herself onto her feet, doing a 360-degree check for Shadow Clan members. After confirming they were alone, she leaned closer to Quincy.
"When this all over, okay?"
Suzie was holding out a closed hand for a fist bump. After a brief moment of hesitation, Quincy closed his own hand and met Suzie's, tapping his knuckles against hers.
Suzie smiled, opening her hand and poorly mimicking the sound of an explosion.
"Alright! Now let's go kick some Shadow Clan butt!"

If You Are The Last Man Standing
<Prev || Part 24 || Next>
~Years Later~
You: *wears a rosewood and silver wedding ring and works the wood shop connected to the Quileute community center*
Sam: *spots of grey hair, leads a tourist group* this is (Y/n), she is also a wildlife conservationist, our youngest tribal leader and she’s good with a wood saw.
You: *head nod towards Sam*
Sam: *leads the group away*
Leah: *walks in from office* I would’ve never thought Sam would lead tourist
You and Leah: *snickers*
You: it’s a good look on him, probably gives him a break from his sons
Leah: if anyone needs the break it’s Paul
You: I do not know how Rachel popped out three kids at the same time. At least Jared and Kim have one.
Leah: they’re trying again
You: I hope it’s a girl… the pack seems so much better without the Cullen’s here
Leah: everyone’s fine. Seth and the others work with Rosalie and Embry says all is well at the Makah tribe. Though Quil and Claire had a huge fight recently.
You: Yeah, he stayed at mine and Rosalie’s place last night. the girl is running him into the ground.
Leah: how is Rosalie?
You: she keeps herself busy. Running her auto-shop and being a nighttime nanny. The Cullens do a collective video call a week, it’s fun seeing those guys try to figure out how technology works. It must be weird for Bella and Edward having an ex lover pine for their daughter
Leah: yeah, but not our problem. Some higher power’s punishment for him, you know Jacob’s always going to love Bella even if he did imprint on Rensesmee.
You: *growls* don’t remind me. I can’t believe my idiot of a brother was about to hurt my wife!
Leah: okay *takes carving knife out of your hand*
You and Leah: *sits in silence*
You: who would’ve known we would be the last man standing
Leah: yeah about that… I. Well with your permission-
You: *sighs* you don’t need my permission to stop phasing Leah, I’m surprised you stayed this long
Leah: we’ll it was mainly for selfish reasons… We are suppose to be old crone buddies… and I know about your worries of seeing the pack, your family, grow older
You: *puts down your wolf carving and hugs her* you don’t have to worry about me. You deserve a life of your own and you know I’ll always be here. Plus this would be a good reason to pull the pack together!
~~~~~
You and Leah: *running Leah’s final patrol together and reaches the path towards Sam and Emily’s house*
The Pack: *stands in their ceremonial shifter capes*
Sue: *holds a ceremonial shifter cape for Leah*
Sam: *holds ceremonial beads*
Leah: ‘Thank you (Y/n)’
You: *nods*
Leah: *shifts back to human facing away from the boys*
Sue: *drapes the cape over her, in Quileute language* the ancestors, the elders, the pack and the spirits above thank you for your service in protecting the tribe
Sam: *puts beads on Leah, in Quileute language* These beads restore your cultural ties and spiritual beliefs, may the great wolf spirit forever guide and protect you.
The Pack: *wolf pack call chirps*
You: *howls and runs the patrol path to the end*
Rosalie: *walks up to you and brushes your fur with her fingers* this one is different isn’t it
You: *shifts back into her arms and cries*
~~~~~
You and Rosalie: *makes it back to Sam and Emily’s
Leah: *hands you an envelope and winks* you’ve done a lot for the tribe
You and Rosalie: *confused*
Paul: and for the pack
Embry: we wanted to make sure you could have anything you could have possibly wanted
Sam: Leah and Carlisle have been in contact
Jared: we were all in agreement
Quil: it’s a thank you gift
Seth: for you and Rosalie
You: *opens it, reads the letter from Carlisle and tears up*
Rosalie: *reads it from behind your shoulder and gasps* this will work?
Leah: you’d have to stop shifting for a bit. And your kid would hold the shifter gene. They’ll stop aging like Rensemee, they won’t be venomous and will have a human diet
Rosalie: *throws her arms around Leah* thank you! Thank you!
Paul: if there’s anyone to deserve this it’s you two. Plus we will spoil them to be like us so you won’t miss us too much
~~~~~
You: Alice, we don’t need a gender reveal!
Alice: I can’t hear you
You: Carlisle tell her we don’t need a gender reveal. Rosalie is a woman, I’m a woman. We only have X chromosomes! I don’t care that we have 24 pairs of chromosomes that doesn’t mean we carry the Y chromosome!
Rosalie: doll you need to calm down.
You: I will calm down when Alice is reined in. *whines* why aren’t you stopping her
Rosalie: sometimes you just let it happen.
Edward: *across the room* Rosalie thinks it’s cute seeing you waddle around after Alice
You: I do not waddle
Leah: you kind of do.
You: *glares*
Sue and Charlie: *enters*
Sue: *hugs you* congratulations
Alice: *skips over to you and hands you a photo*
You: *gasps*
Rosalie: *snaps at Alice* where did you get this!
You: Babe! You’re so cute as a baby!
Alice: I have my ways! I have more of these if you let me do a gender reveal
You: *cooes*
Rosalie: No, we don’t need a gender reveal *pulls you away*
You: but there’s more! You got to see my baby photos!
The Cullens and The Pack: *playing baby shower games*
Rosalie: *looks around for you and walks away from the group* doll?
You: *looks at the Guess who baby board, smiles and caresses your baby belly*
Rosalie: your smile says you’re happy but your eyes tell a different story *hugs you*
You: I love you, and I love the family we are building but
Rosalie: but we will always be like this, frozen.
You: yeah… how did you do it? Live knowing you’re the last to remember your family, your home?
Rosalie: spite… I also have my sister with me
You: *chuckles* sounds like you
Rosalie: someone doesn’t truly die until they are forgotten
You: it feels heavy
Rosalie: *lifts your belly*
You: I was speaking metaphorically but this helps too
Rosalie: *hums* yes but you won’t be carrying those memories on your own*
Billy has been transcribing everything going on with the pack since you guys shifted. I’ve kept a diary since I was old enough to write.
You: and I’m just knowing about it now? Baby we’ve been married 10 years, together for 11… Anything I should know about? Perhaps about a certain female shifter?
Rosalie: hush you. *slowly lets go of your belly*
You: *groans*
Rosalie: I’ll help you remember them. I promise. *leaves multiple kisses on your face*
Quinn: I found them!
Alone No Longer Ch. 8- Ties That Bind
Tumblr media
"Sabine. How may I be of assistance?"
Her smile stretched to reveal four sharpened canines.
"I'm so glad you asked. As I was just explaining to this gentleman-"
She turned slightly, inclining her head toward the guard.
"I am here to see my husband and I am not leaving this hallway until I do."
Walter's violet eyes widened behind his monocle. He stared at her in disbelief, but Sabine gave no indication that her demand was anything but serious.
"You know I cannot allow that. He's a war criminal. A political prisoner of the Hellsing organization."
Sabine pursed her lips. Her eyebrows drew together as she glanced at the cell door. Hans was in there. She knew it. She could feel him.
"Yes I know, but prisoners have a right to visitation."
The guard behind her snorted.
"That bastard doesn't have any legal rights. He's a bloody-"
Sabine whirled around to face the soldier. His mouth snapped shut at the sight of her glowing red eyes.
"Werewolf? And what do you see when you look at me, hmm? A monster?"
"Sabine."
She ignored Walter's warning and advanced on the guard. A low growl of frustration built behind her voice. She wasn't technically a prisoner of Hellsing, but she was close enough.
"Just because I am not human does not make me less of a person!"
"Sabine, calm down!"
The soldier slid his finger to the trigger of his rifle. Sabine spun away from him and closed her eyes, willing her temper back under control.
She felt as if the pain in her chest was driving her mad! She didn't know if it was the bond between them, or if her feelings for Hans were genuine, but the separation had become physically unbearable. What started as a dull throb of longing grew into an agonizing stab of loss. Something inside Sabine was withering… and dying.
If she perished from a broken heart, who would be left to care for Barrett?
Desperate tears threatened to fall as she took a deep breath through her nose and out of her mouth. It required every ounce of willpower not to throw herself at the cell door and claw at it like a rabid beast.
"Valtah, please. Open the door. My son is a month old and has yet to meet his father."
"Sir Hellsing would never approve-"
Sabine stomped her foot. The sound of her heel connecting with the concrete floor echoed down the sterile hallway.
"I do not care what Sir Hellsing would approve! He has refused to answer my questions and I am tired of waiting! Valtah, I am so tired."
Barrett stirred in her arms. She soothed him back to sleep as she turned to face Walter. Something dark passed over his features, but was gone in an instant. Sabine was left wondering if she had imagined the look.
"I have to see Hans. Unless you plan to shoot an unarmed woman and her baby, I am not moving from this spot until you open that door!"
"Fine. If you wish to see him so badly, then be my guest. You have ten minutes."
Sabine and the soldier both startled at Walter's sudden change of heart.
"Unlock the cell."
The guard stared at him.
"But, sir?"
His lips pressed into a thin line. He scowled at the soldier as he folded his hands behind his back.
Walter was just as tired of waiting.
"That's an order soldier. Unless you doubt my ability to keep a single prisoner under control?"
"No Sir."
The sullen guard removed the key ring from his belt and began to unlock the cell door. Sabine couldn't seem to catch her breath. Her fingers restlessly combed through her hair, tucking every strand back into place. Anxiously, she tugged at her garments. After one month of endless seclusion, she was finally going to be reunited with Hans!
The last image she had of him was on his knees, kneeling before Sir Hellsing in defeat. The last time they touched was his goodbye kiss in the woods.
The reinforced door swung open. Sabine rushed past the guard.
"Hans!"
The overwhelming presence of silver crawled across her skin. Every hair stood on end. Instinctively, she shielded Barrett's delicate body from the deadly metal.
The sight that greeted her inside the cell ripped a gasp from her lips before she could stifle the noise.
"Oh… Hans."
Reach For the Ground
TW: Severe Injury
She had it all figured out, didn't she? Lilligant was a grass-type. It couldn't do much to her newly evolved Luxray, Lucien. He was properly prepared, he knew Ice Fang thanks to the head of the Security Corps, and everything was poised to be perfect for her to take the Noble's rage down a notch.
The attacks came in waves, quite literal ones that diving over and away from meant her knees and arms were getting respective workouts and beatings. A ballet of an energy you couldn't even stop to think about, as the attacks were relentlessly effective. One in particular even sent the slow-moving, but almost paralytic energy through her stomach, knocking the wind out of her enough that she could barely breathe.
But no. She had it all figured out! The moment the Lilligant had exhausted herself, out came Lucien, roaring outwards with the adamant power he had held back until this exact moment. The fangs dug in, not enough to pierce her body, but enough to let the frost of his potently icy breath kick right in, half-freezing one of her arms. She cried, but the depth of her voice was unmistakably still enraged by the fury of whatever being had "blessed" her with this energy.
By the efforts of Lucien's attack, this let Rose get back to her feet, smirking as she began to throw the soothing balms meant to get the poor Noble down into a more manageable state! The cloth flew, the balms spread in a mist around the flowery Lilligant, and progress was beginning to become apparent as the young woman brushed off her chest and nodded. She had it all figured out!
Dash to the side to avoid the impact, throw a balm. Leap right underneath of Lilligant to miss the shockwave, toss a soothing salve. Skid off to the side and take a quick jog to the other end of the arena, aim, smirk, and get poised to throw.
Lilligant was right in front of Rose's face. A momentary peek of arrogance was followed by fear, leading to both of them reacting simultaneously. The Noble knew how to fight, but their attacks were almost all in their legs. A slam of their heel here, a sweep of their leg there. All with a grassy energy that hit deeper than normal.
The human was winded, but so was the Grass-type Pokémon. She thought she had it all fig--
A sweep of their leg. Rose was airborne for all of a single second as the Noble had kicked her own feet out from underneath of her. No grassy energy came about. The human landed with a grunt on her back, a balm flying from her hand straight upwards. It would've been the final one. And as her eyes went up to look at it, it came tumbling down. It was perfectly poised to hit Lilligant right in the head, and would've brought her out of her frenzy! All Rose had to do was wait!
And the moment it had landed, the burst of bright, golden energy erupted outwards in a blinding flash, the shimmering sound echoing outwards brilliantly.
Which masked the scream Rose had let out.
She didn't have to hear what happened. She felt it. The sound practically shot up her leg like the pain that immediately followed, as a deep snap and crack reverberated through her body from the slam of a heel. Lilligant had gotten one, final attack in right as the balm had connected, and something felt very wrong about it.
What followed was a blur. The pain was delirium-inducing for almost a full minute, but she could make out that she looked... relatively normal to an onlooker. Stressed, sweaty and a bit pale, yes, but fine. Just sitting upon the ground, her legs looking none the worse for wear. Adaman thanked her. He gently scolded Arezu, to which Calaba quietly returned a playful jab in return towards him to give the poor girl some slack. This was before opting to take the slow stroll down the steps to return to her own Noble. Mistakes happened, right? And Lilligant? She stepped away from Rose, bowing gracefully in response as she overlooked them, Arezu apologizing profusely to the poor girls both standing upright as well as currently lying there quietly. Silently.
The pain was... well, it was fading steadily and slowly, but enough to make thinking possible, oddly enough. Which gave her a moment of pause to let herself regulate her breathing. Adaman's keen eye spotted her oddly slow-to-dwindle stress, however. "You alright there, Rose? Come on, no need to dwell on what coulda happened, the present's right here. It's high time you realized that you just helped us tremendously!"
"Right! Heh... I can imagine you'd be a little weak-kneed after that battle, though, gosh..." Arezu brought a hand up to her own hair, patting it as if to soothe herself. "I know the feeling. I really do."
"I'll... I'll be fine. I think the fall I just had spooked me more than I thought. Almost got me like the Kleavor kerfuffle had." Rose waved a hand, only to have Lilligant plop a green, grassy tablet upon her lap as she leaned up, leading to the trio to laugh at the rather abrupt thankfulness the Noble was showing. "I'll catch up, though, if you have things to get to. I know you value your time, Adaman. Wink-wink."
"Hah! I knew I liked you. Alright, I think you're someone we can trust with Lilligant, now that she's back to her graceful self." A chirp came from the Pokémon as they looked over towards Rose gratefully, the warden and clan leader beginning to descend. And eventually, it was only herself and the Noble, now far more calm and looking at her quietly and curiously.
Rose... was starting to lose the bravado she had before. The pain hadn't subsided fully. It was dull. It was sitting in her left knee, lightly pulsing in discomfort. Gently, she began to tug up her pant leg, wincing from a much sharper pain shooting from the same spot she felt that... that crunch. And the sensation of it began to immediately mirror what she was looking at.
The Lilligant seemed to gasp in response, bounding off immediately afterwards due to what they both took notice of: Rose's knee was already swelling, and it wasn't doing so lightly. Within the mere minutes of talking, the swelling had been dulling the pain because of just how nasty of an injury it was.
"Oh god."
It was the only thing she let out of her lips as she stared down at it. Lilligant immediately came back, holding a set of leeks she knew had healing properties, and upon handing them to Rose, the human snapped one and began to press the oozing end right onto the knee's side where the swelling was the worst.
One leek helped. Two leeks helped more. Three... started doing nothing. The swelling was, within the small moment of healing allowed, reduced but still visible, and with a very careful lowering of her pant leg, she nodded. Okay. She just needed to get back! That's all she needed to do! Just get back to camp, get escorted to Jubilife with a limp at worst, and the Medical Corps could take a look! That's all she needed to do.
She stood up slowly, her weight focused on her right leg. She felt... alright. A tap of her left foot on the ground. No real pain... that was good! That was progress. A bit more weight... a bit of pain, but nothing major... She could deal with this. Carefully, she stepped forward with the left leg.
Pain.
Pain.
This scream was a good deal more audible, and the Lilligant squeaked outwards in alarm as Rose's knee visibly buckled sideways. It snapped back into place, but she was on the floor, groaning with enough pain shooting through her leg, it was hard to even stay conscious. She groaned outwards as the throbbing sensation came back with a vengeance, and the yell of raw agony she let out echoed throughout the arena.
She thought she had it all figured out.
@mikbutt has a blind date with...
Kian the Selkie
Kian resembles a leopard seal while wearing her sealskin, and outside of it is a very tall, muscular human woman with dark brown skin and short box braids. She has some scars and a (magical) prosthetic lower limb thanks to encounters with sharks out in the ocean. Although she puts on a show of toughness, Kian is a romantic at heart. You can see her eyes soften and a smile tug at her lips whenever she catches sight of you.
Kian loves to swim, and is always happy to accompany you to the beach or pool for some fun in the water. Once she trusts you enough, she will don her sealskin and swim alongside you in her seal form.
As an extrovert, Kian is always ready to go to a party or gathering and loves to socialize. However, she’s also quick to make sure that you’re taken care of—if you start to feel tired or overwhelmed, Kian is happy to whisk you away to someplace quiet for one-on-one time where you can recharge.
Kian is a happy carnivore and is always down for a fish or steak dinner. She’s also a Grill Dad™ who loves keeping everyone fed during a cookout, and will pile everyone’s plates high with their favorite foods.
Kian isn’t much of a crafter or maker herself, so your creations always amaze her. If you knit, crochet, draw, or otherwise create something for her, she’ll treasure it forever and take a million pictures to show her friends and family. She never throws away a gift.
Tumblr media
“Hey there,” a low, melodious voice says, and you turn around to see a tall Black woman smiling at you from one of the picnic tables that have been set up for the cookout. “Looking for a seat?”
“Kinda,” you admit, and the woman gestures to the empty place beside her. You sit down there.
The woman introduces herself as Kian. You tell her your name in return, and the self-appointed DJ (i.e. the person who was the fastest to connect to the bluetooth speaker) starts playing a summery collection of old rock hits. Children chase each other in the throes of some incomprehensible game a short distance from the picnic tables, and the air smells like barbecue. It’s a good smell. You feel safe, and under Kian’s gaze you also feel a flutter of attraction as the sunlight gleams on her muscular arms. It’s hard not to stare.
Kian looks away from you to critically examine her burger. “They cooked mine too much—look, there’s way too much char on this side. I should go over there and tell them.”
“Why don’t you?” you ask.
Kian looks back at you and grins. “Well, I’m enjoying your company right now. I don’t want anyone to steal my spot as your conversational partner, after all.”
You feel your face heat in a blush, and the butterflies in your stomach intensify.
“Care to dance?” Kian asks.
“I’m not sure I can,” you admit.
“That’s alright; I can’t either,” Kian says easily. “Let’s go make fools of ourselves, yeah?” Her smile widens as she offers her hand, and you eagerly accept.
One more time! I decided to go the Venus route with the last lost turtle sibling and lore is below the cut.
Utilizing what vague memories I have from 12+ years ago of the TMNT Power Rangers crossover, I drew inspiration that Venus is very easily connected to her mystical ninpo powers, and was even able to utilize them just after her mutation.
She is a sea turtle, and instead of getting the mutant hands/feet like her siblings, she kept her flippers and uses her ninpo as an extension to make arms and legs for herself.
Shortly after Draxum's lab blew up, she was washed away down the drains, thrown by the current until eventually making it out of the Hidden City and back to the surface world.
Around that same time, Grandpa Sho was back in New York and wandering the streets, hoping to find any signs of Yoshi, who had very publicly gone missing. Though with no clues in weeks, he was beginning to lose hope that Yoshi would ever be found, or if he was even still alive.
Tumblr media
Sho wandered the streets in the rain when he suddenly stumbled across a baby crying out for help and fishes her out of a drain only to realize she is not what he expected. This was not a baby but some sort of sentient turtle, and Sho decides that she is some kind of Hōnengame (or a “kame onna”), which is a yokai turtle-woman who comes to bring prophecies and predictions to humans.
Safe in his hands, she excitedly reveals her ninpo energy, and Sho recognizes the clan symbol of his ancestors, believing now that this a sign from the universe to make up for his shortcomings with Yoshi and try one last time to raise a protector for the Hamato clan.
He decides to train her in the ways of the Hamato ninpo, raising her as her sensei/ grandfather back in Japan, and even granting her the Tessen war-fan that once belonged to his own daughter, Atsuko.
Fittingly, he takes parts out of "Kame" and "Onna" and renames her "Kanna". Which also means "summer waves" in Japanese.
For years he tells her all the stories and histories of their family, including stories about Yoshi, Karai, and the Shredder. The two are a happy family, but inevitably, he passes away from old age when she is still pretty young, leaving her to continue training/ preparing for this journey without him.
So now she lives alone as a solo-ninja mystic-warrior in Japan and remains there, waiting for the Shredder or the Foot to finally reappear. She ends up being like a one-woman solo vigilante Batman/ Aquaman hero who lives in a lair mostly underwater but surfaces for various butt-kicking and ninja vigilante shenanigans.
“Venus” becomes her hero name as people are quick to focus on the whole mysterious crime fighting woman “with no arms” bit, and the name quickly sticks as an alter ego.
Eventually, she does find her long-lost family and learns that the Shredder was already defeated.
Being her life's purpose and sworn duty, she is thrown for a loop on what to do with her life now, but decides to try and figure that out together with her family.
(Also, I imagine she and Splinter have a very touching heart to heart talking about Grandpa Sho. 😭 )
As for special powers, I think other than her everyday use of limb manipulation, she has a very strong sense of connection to mind, body, and spirit... and thus gets prophecies and visions, and is good at reading energy levels.
Might even throw in some healing powers all "Dark Transfer/ Force Healing" ala Star Wars?
I had a thought that she can fight with the limb manipulation too, a lot like a Waterbender or Ming Hua from ATLA/LOK.
EDIT: I had a thought that she and Usagi butt heads a lot in Japan and are bitter rivals (since Venus is a vigilante and Usagi would be more an official longstanding family traditon-sort of samurai of the Hidden City there.)
