If you ever needed a sign that although my writing brain decided to put itself on a looong hiatus, the story and characters are constantly living in it rent free it’s probably that every time I download a new app to play with the BL gang are the first thing I try to create.
I thought maybe I’d start sharing some of the random creations on here. Just in case they’re pretty to look at (and so they exist somewhere outside of my phone).
So here are the OG BL gang made using Wonder. Not perfect, and I’m definitely still learning how to use AI (although it’s never going to replace art commissions for me!)

ngl i kinda wanna post my ocs here and yes i got this idea after finishing yet another interactive fiction game specifically buried love by @buriedlove. i'm a massive simp for alex tbh but i'm sure as hell gonna try aayush and maybe eli. anyways i have like two different ocs for buried love and my dumbass wants to make another one like girl what 😂. i also would love to post edits of my ocs here too but i unfortunately haven't tried editing anything in sooo long

Just a little birthday something for you. Hope you’re all surviving September - all is busy but good for me - looking forward to some quieter times and getting back to writing! ❤️
The Party
Alex clears his throat and looks around the dome, running his hand through his hair.
“Do you think we’ve got enough balloons?”
Zein snorts and kicks their foot at one of the balloons now bouncing around on the ground. “Alex, if we had any more balloons I think this place would start floating to the surface.”
Alex grins sheepishly. “Ok, I accept I might have gone overboard.”
Balloons are floating around in the air. Some rising to the top of the dome, but others hovering in mid air, or bouncing their way along the ground.
Rota eyes them suspiciously. “Why aren’t these strange orbs following the laws of gravity?”
“That would be one of those questions it’s better not to ask,” Eli playfully bats one of the balloons with his hand as he walks past everyone and makes a beeline to the bar.
“A more important question is what drinks am I going to mix tonight? I feel like trying something new. Something spicy?”
Aayush raises an eyebrow but says nothing, instead walking through the swirling mass of balloons, somehow managing to avoid touching a single one. He lays down on a sun lounger and closes his eyes.
“Aayush!” Fleur calls out, “aren’t you supposed to be on outfit duty? There’s no time for relaxing!”
Aayush smiles and waves his hand. A sea of balloons parts to show a clothing rack with beautiful outfits hanging off of it. Fleur squeals as she runs over and picks up a hanger that has a label with her name written on it. A dress that looks like it’s made from thousands of delicate lilac petals hangs from it. “It’s perfect! Aayush how did you find these…?”
Aayush smiles. “You don’t get to live through all of the ages without getting a certain sense of style. This will be the best dressed party this dome will ever see. Guaranteed.”
Abe appears carrying trays of food. He looks wholly uncomfortable as he looks around the dome. “Where am I putting these?” He looks to Fleur who has assumed the role of party coordinator.
Fleur points to some tables over to the side of the pool. “Over there next to Cerri. While you’re over there could you ask her to go and throw all of the inflatables into the pool? It’s going to look so cute.”
Abe swallows and looks like he’s been asked to fight a bear, but he nods obediently and walks over to Cerri who is glowering at everything happening around her.
“Uh Cerri,” he starts, his deep voice shaking ever so slightly. “Fleur asked if you could get the pool ready? Uh. Please.”
Cerri rolls her eyes but doesn’t protest and wanders over to Cat who is standing proudly surveying a menagerie of inflatable pool animals.
“Cerri! Hey! Help me get these in the water will you?”
Cerri grunts but picks up a giant flamingo and throws it through the air with ease, watching as it lands in the pool with a splash. Cat smiles. “Finally an outlet for all that tension, huh?”
Cerri responds by throwing an inflatable panda.
Cat laughs quietly and walks slowly over to Alex, placing an arm around his shoulder. “Wow, when you were put in charge of balloons you really went for it, huh?”
Rota interjects, “I believe there may be more orbs in here than there are stars in the sky.”
Alex starts to protest but instead closes his mouth and his eyes rest on a point in the distance. Everyone turns to see what he’s seen, their eyes all fixed on one thing that has just entered the party.

Hey! Thank you for this ask and sorry it’s taken a long while to reply. The answer is that MCs ex isn’t going to show up. I think Cerri is all the ex we can handle, and there’s going to be enough drama in the dome, but I thought it would be fun to explore how the ROs would react if it did happen…
Rota: Rota would be challenging the ex to a duel within the first hour, absolutely no doubt. Or maybe an arm wrestle. She wouldn’t feel jealous in the usual (human) definition - but she would definitely want to ensure she was considered the most powerful by her loved one. The dome would probably turn into a Valkyrie olympics. There would be spear throwing, body carrying, pegasus flying fun all day every day. Consider your ex exhausted and ready to get out of there. Fast.
Alex: His protection mode would crank up to the max. He knows all about difficult exes and would be keeping a constant eye on the situation to make sure MC wasn’t upset in any way. Expect lots of low level growling and protective body postures if there’s any sign of trouble. Always wanted a wolf boy by your side 24/7? You got it. Unless you don’t want it. Then he’ll back off, because he’s a protective but respectful wolf boy, although expect one bright blue eye on the situation at all times (from a distance).
Abe: Abe wouldn’t know how to react to an ex. His general lack of confidence in love would mean that he wouldn’t position himself in competition. Instead he’d quietly observe what was happening, all the while being civil and polite. He’d be sat in a corner with a book, every inch the quiet pacifist. But his eyes wouldn’t be taking in a single word. Instead they’d be watching the ex’s every move silently. His main priority would be MCs safety, and if he had any concerns about that then a very different side of Abe would appear. The ex would need to watch their back…
Eli: Eli doesn’t have a jealous bone in his body. He’s more likely to flirt with an ex than get into any kind of confrontation with them from a jealousy perspective. But… if MC’s ex did anything at all to hurt them then Eli would be quick to speak up and to put the ex in their place. MC would suddenly find themselves with an elf shaped companion by their sides at all time, ready to step in if needed and to stop anything else hurtful happening.
Aayush: Aayush would be jealous from the moment the ex stepped into the dome, to the moment they left. The jealousy wouldn’t show through aggressive behaviour, he’s far too classy for that. Instead he would be extra attentive of MC, making sure they had everything they needed at every moment of every day. You want the model of the perfect boyfriend? Good news, you’ve got it. His jealousy comes from a deep insecurity that he isn’t good enough. He can’t see the sunshine. Hell, he can’t even eat a meal with MC. If the ex can offer a life he can’t then it’s going to hurt, and he’ll be looking for some reassurance.
Catarina: Catarina has been burned by a partner’s ex in the past when she found out her partner was cheating on her with an ex. Although Catarina isn’t openly jealous and generally oozes calm and collected confidence, an ex arriving would push all of the wrong buttons and a different side of her would emerge. She’d need verbal and physical reassurance that MC was still into, and if that was absent she’d probably retreat into herself and put a barrier up. If it was clear there was no emotional connection with the ex it would be a different story. At that point Catarina would just be looking out for them potentially hurting MC, and would have a spell ready if they did.
Cerri: Hmm, imagine if Cerri caught feelings and then MCs ex appeared. I wonder how our tempestuous she-wolf would react? Spoilers - not well. Cue almost continual growling in their direction, a glare so cold it could freeze the bahamas, and confrontation at every possible moment. Cerri will protect the people she cares about to the death, and the ex would probably be safest walking straight back out of the dome again. Fast.

Who’s ready for our vamp CEO? He might be feeling a bit melancholy this Halloween…
Aayush’s Halloween party
Aayush stood in the corner of the grand ballroom that had been his penthouse apartment only hours earlier, watching his friends dance and laugh. He had spared no expense in throwing this Halloween party, the best in town. But despite the festivities, he couldn't shake the feeling of loneliness that had plagued him for centuries.
He’d always felt different from other vampires, and had longed for human connection . He’d tried to find solace in the company of others, but each attempt had added another fresh wound of loss.
As he watched his friends dance and laugh with each other, he felt a wave of sadness wash over him. Each person represented another wound, another chasm in his chest at some point in the future.
He tried to push his thoughts away. He’d thrown this party to celebrate Halloween and to be with his friends, and he didn't want to let his loneliness ruin it. This should be a perfect Halloween party. One to remember.
But it was no use. The feeling only grew stronger with each passing moment.
Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He slipped out of the ballroom and into the night. He wandered the empty streets, wondering if he would ever find someone who could truly understand him, someone who could love him for who he was.
He sat down on a bench and closed his eyes. He listened to the wind whistling through the trees. He felt a sense of peace wash over him. He realised that he was not truly alone. He was part of something much larger than himself, part of life.
He opened his eyes and stood up. He could find someone who would love him for who he was. No. He will find someone.
He wasn’t sure how or when but he knew when it happened it would be a love to last for eternity.

💐 BOUQUET - create a bouqet for them! what do those flowers mean? are any of the flowers their particular favourite?
Ok I’ve learned some new information about flower meanings from this ask, so thank you Anon! Here are some floral suggestions for the ROs…
Rota: Nasturtium which represents victory in battle for our Valkyrie and gladiolus which represents strength and integrity - two characteristics Rota brings to everything
Catarina: Her bouquet would be full of green witch goodness including lavender for healing, love, protection and peace but also for her romantic side it would include lilac roses representing longevity, eternity and happiness
Cerri: Just one flower sums up Cerri - King Protea - because it’s spiky as hell - and also because it represents courage, daring and transformation
Alex: His bouquet would include daisies because they represent loyal love, which is Alex to his core, and also cornflowers - in folklore men would wear them when they fell in love - if the colour faded too quickly it was a sign the love was unrequited. Tell me Alex wouldn’t be wearing his cornflower after meeting MC and checking it every day?
Eli: Eli’s bouquet would include magnolia because it represents a love of nature, and underneath all of his rebellion and partying his care for nature remains strong, and tulips as they represent true love, hope and royalty
Abe: I was imagining giving Abe a bouquet while researching his flowers, and the cuteness of how touched he’d be got me in my feels. His would include daffodils as they represent regard and unequalled love, which is what he has the potential to offer and forget me nots for fidelity and deep compassion - two of his strongest traits
Aayush: And lastly there could only be one flower for our classic vampire - the red rose. Classically elegant and representing true love and passion - nothing represents his more.

Birthday Stuff from the Dome - Aayush
Hi Buried Lovers,
I know things have been quiet around these parts. Just boring health stuff, but everything is good and I’m quietly (all be it slowly) working away at BL.
As time has apparently lost all meaning and it’s my birthday again (how? how is it another year?) here’s a little something for you all. Last year I talked about the ROs gifts for MC on their birthday. This year I’ll be posting a little piece of writing each day which covers the moment of MC giving the ROs a gift for their birthday, starting with Aayush. I hope you enjoy ❤️
Aayush smiles as he looks down into the box in his hands. He pulls out a small booklet, and on the front it says ‘Aayush’s Magical Mystery Tour’. As he reads the front cover he looks at you quizzically. “The Beatles?”
You encourage him to look inside the booklet. He reads your name, you still get an excited tingle every time he says it. “...cordially invites you to use this ticket to go on a mystery tour.” He looks at you, eyebrow raised. “Where exactly is this mystery tour taking me?”
You smile. “Home.”
He looks around the penthouse you now share. “Aren’t we home?”
You nod. “But there’s another home. One that is lost to you, but I know you think about it often.” Aayush looks at you, his features frozen, and for a moment you worry you’ve made a mistake. “India?” he asks.
You nod slowly. “I’ve been doing some research on your family tree. It led me to some interesting places. People. I… I’ve found some of your relatives.” Aayush drops the box and stares at you, frozen.
“Aayush?” you say after a silence that seems to have lasted an eternity, more certain than ever that this was a terrible idea. Eventually he speaks. “I’ve had more birthdays than I care to consider. So many gifts I could fill a thousand of these apartments. But none of them compare to this. Or to you.” He leans forward and gently kisses your forehead. “Thank you, my love.”
You look into the dark eyes that hold so much loss. You’re determined to make that up to him. What do you give the man that has everything? You give him back experiences. Connections. Life. For now you just respond with a whisper.
“Happy Birthday my love, and here’s to many more.”

Hi Anon,
It isn’t exactly shame that means Aayush hides his eating/ drinking, but more a sense of needing to shield MC from the realities of his life.
It’s something you’ll be able to talk to him about as your relationship grows and MC breaks down the carefully constructed wall he’s built around himself brick by brick.
If your relationship is strong enough he’ll stop shielding and start being more comfortable with sharing more of his life with you.

Hi. Just a little curious: how many (approximately) partners (like you know... THAT type of partners😅) did BL's had before?? And relationships? If it's not too spoilery ofc... 👀
Hey! Thank you for this ask. Here’s a little (spoiler free) summary of their relationship history. I’m not going to give their official ‘number’ because that may come up in the plot for some characters… but you can probably make a good guess.
Rota - Rota has never had an emotional relationship - or at least, a reciprocal one. It’s just not part of the culture she lives in. That’s not to say she hasn’t had a sexual relationship. She has plenty of experience there, but it’s never been anything more than physical. That’s why an MC who truly wants to get to know her in every possible way will see a side of Rota never seen before…
Aayush - Oh Aayush. Our vamp boy has been around for a while, ya know? So his number is high. Like… high. In the past he’s been driven by lust not love. With one exception. The one true relationship he’s had in all of his years since becoming a vampire. Since that ended he hasn’t been with anyone else…until now.
Alex - Alex has had 5 relationships…and not a single one night stand outside of those relationships. Dating isn’t easy with the pack watching your every move, plus Alex is a loyal boy and so emotional connection is important to him. His confidence in all things physical has been dented a bit by things he’s heard Ceri has said to other members of the pack, but as his relationship with MC deepens, his confidence will continue to grow.
Eli - Eli doesn’t count - he’s too much of a free spirit for that, but he’s definitely enjoyed a number of sexual relationships, wherever he may be in the world. He wouldn’t call any of his relationships serious…although at times his partners might have hoped otherwise. Eli’s conflict between his lack of any kind of monogamous relationship against his desire to find ‘the one’ he’ll share the fairytale story with is a big part of the inner turmoil MC will see on his route.
Abe - Abe has only had one long term relationship, and that ended in heartbreak for him. He’s had other partners since - but they’ve been purely physical. That might seem out of character for him, but physical relationships don’t scare him - it’s emotional connections and his partner really understanding who he is that terrifies him. I’m not going to go into detail (because…spoilers) but our quiet boy is uh… skilled… when it comes to the physical side of the relationship.
Lily - Lily has had one happy relationship, and more unhappy ones than any person could count. Being single isn’t a status that Lily embraces, and so bouncing from one toxic relationship to the next has been her pattern.
Catarina - Catarina has had three serious relationships and had her heart broken once by a cheat…and has been looking for the perfect ‘one’ ever since. She’s had a few friends with benefits relationships since but has kept her heart completely closed with them. Her search for the perfect 'one' brought her into the dome, but will she realise when she meets them?
Cerri - Cerri has had one partner in every sense of the word - Alex - and we all know how that turned out! She isn’t the most experienced in relationships, and scratch under that prickly surface and you’ll probably find a whole lot of insecurity about relationships…
Fleur - Fleur is experienced - she’s confident in herself and her body and has had a number of partners, although no one serious. Fleur came into BL looking for something more serious, but fully prepared to have lots of fun with whoever she felt like if that person wasn’t there. Then she met Zein, and the rest is history.
Zein - Zein has never been in a relationship of any kind. The life of a genie hasn’t allowed space for them to meet their own physical and emotional needs. Being with Fleur is Zein’s first experience and time will tell if the whole thing is too overwhelming for them.
