HI i was the anon from the other day :^) ty for all the lore & worldbuilding it’s all so cool!! tho tbh it just made more questions in my mind akfnajfnsjf like how did zephyr and rali meet? what were their first impressions of each other? how did rail’s perception of zephyr (and zsquad in general?) differ from before and after officially meeting? sorry if this is a lot back to back >_< don’t feel pressured to answer all of em i’m just 👀 @ them. toxic alien yuri <3
hello!!!! sorry for late reply ive been all over the place. thank you for taking interest in my googoogagas
so fun fact, i've been really inspired by some music ive been listening to recently and i want to rewrite... everything... or at least the story "idea" yknow.... but the songs i've been listening to are Heat Abnormal by Iyowa and ÅMARA by sasakure.UK (mostly inspired by the visuals of this one) so all the ideas i wrote are all subject to change actually. <:')
but their first impressions/meeting stuff is kinda fuzzy in my head but after the big vanni blow up, zephyr is pissed off and brooding inside the building where they go into cryo and is encouraged to leave and go home by rali whos a complete stranger at this point in the story. the only reason rali convinces her is that because rali is a stranger zephyr completely masks any emotion shes having about the situation and pretends shes fine so she just is like "oh yeah im fine" (LYING) and goes home lol
later she finds out thats cadens sister and has weird mixed feelings about it
ANYWAYS again this is subject to change to be completely different so take this w a grain of salt. i have more ideas for a diff storyline that ill probably write some stuff for in a reblog of this later. i just woke up like an hour ago so im sorry if this is all weirdly written lololol

SWTOR: On "too easy"
I keep seeing posts elsewhere from "serious gamers" saying "waaah, they nerfed the game, IT'S TOO EASY NOW." I keep seeing posts from people who seem to think the only way to "save" SWTOR is to make it really difficult. And posts that cast judgment on those who prefer a more laid-back approach.
I can't stand that. Truly, one of the worst things about gaming is some of the playerbase.
I fully believe that where possible, content should have story/veteran/NiM modes available, the way KOTFE, KOTET and the non-story flashpoints do. If someone's idea of fun is to run every single thing with extreme difficulty, and that's what they get a charge from, let them at it...as long as it doesn't mean everyone else has to play that way too. That's where these discussions usually go off the rails, since these folks seem to think that everyone should play at an arbitrary high standard they deem acceptable.
A lot of different types of players love SWTOR. Some really do want NiM all the time. Others want to decorate strongholds or dress their characters. Some are all about story. Some love the group aspect and always want to play with guildies or friends; others steer clear of all interaction with other players. Some do a mix of all of the above. Some avoid certain activities at all costs.
I'm a solo story player. For me, extreme challenge isn't fun. It's usually enough to get me to quit. It's not fun for me to die over and over in a game or to struggle with complicated mechanics where one misstep means death. I hate things like the Onderon datacrons. I felt that Spirit of Vengeance was originally tuned way too high and had way too many mobs, even though I was fully able to finish it.
I've gone in and done some more difficult things like Dread Seeds and veteran flashpoints solo because I wanted to see the content and complete those missions. If the entire game was tuned like the last Dread Seeds mission or those veteran flashpoints, I'd likely leave in about two seconds. In the longterm, it's not pleasant for me. It's physically painful, it's boring and I don't find it relaxing or fun.
No one playstyle is "correct" or "normal." They all are. What's abnormal is when someone insists everyone has to play a certain way. What would I say to those gatekeepers whining about content being too easy?
The story content isn't getting people ready for endgame.
So?
You're assuming everyone wants to play endgame content. They don't. There's nothing Bioware could do, say or bribe me with that would get me into things like Ops, ranked PvP, PvP at all, PUGs or Master Mode flashpoints. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. I am here for the story. Period.
A training ground for endgame content exists in the form of flashpoints. The flashpoints in the game do get progressively tougher. If someone's truly interested in getting raid-worthy skills they're likely going to be doing solo flashpoints. And using groupfinder or joining a guild that works to help players progress. There are options, and those who are interested in raids will seek them out.
But the story is so easy. It's a faceroll. Games are about challenge.
Challenge means different things to different people.
Everyone has different abilities. You might roll through every flashpoint. The next player might die seven times just getting through the first tomb on Korriban. By the way, I'm "next player." I think my first toon may have kicked the bucket before even getting into Ajunta Pall's tomb. The word "easy" is very, very relative.
Also, for some of us, easier content is relaxing and fun. The same way some people like a leisurely bicycle ride along the bike path and others train for the Tour de France.
If challenge for you involves very difficult gameplay, it does exist. Go join a NiM guild for raids. Go play ranked PvP. Play another game. Why does everyone else need to play the way you play?
People aren't grouping. They should be forced to group.
Because you think they should? What gives you any right to dictate how other people play or who they play the game with? Are you the National Gaming Czar and nobody told us?
This "grouping should be compulsory!" belief is bullshit. People who want to group WILL group. That's always been the case. Hell, I remember being a kid and playing single player console games with friends. We'd take turns, cheer each other on, and yell out advice to the person playing. We found a way to play in a group because we wanted to.
Right now, the people in SWTOR there are guilds and healthy incentives to join them. Right now, the people in SWTOR who want to play with a friend or friends can do that. Even in things like class stories or KOTFE where it only progresses for one person, they can still come along and help. There are multiple opportunities in the game for players to meet each other. There are social media sites where they can do the same. There's group finder. There are people who look for groups on the fleet. There are PvP and GSF where they can play against others.
Bottom line? Anyone who wants to group has multiple ways to accomplish that at this very moment.
Those who aren't grouping likely do not want to group. They don't have to explain why. If you force them to group one of two things will probably happen: they will do it and hate every second of it and not want to be there, or they will stop playing. Which is more likely? Well, I'm sure we've all finished Oricon, Iokath and Macrobinoculars, right? Oh wait...
This is a game. It's not supposed to be like a job where you have coworkers you detest and still have to interact with them. It's not some life skill. It's. A. Game. Get over it if people don't want to play with you.   There should always be open world PvP. Sure, if you want a mass exodus from the game in about a day. The minute they make open world PvP non-optional or make PvP content compulsory is the day I stop playing. And I don't think I'm alone there. I feel like this comment usually comes from people who are frustrated that others don't accept their duel requests and that there isn't a huge pool of players for PVP matches. They can't get people to play with them voluntarily so they want to force it. And you should be able to tag a mob someone else is working on. I keep seeing this brought up as an ideal in other games. It seems to be a way to force people to group with you even if they've said no to an invite. You know what will happen with this? You'll have players hitting the mob once and getting credit/loot without any effort. Or you will have players following around other players to "share mobs" with them even when that other player wants to be left alone. I'm of the opinion that any type of group play should be consensual in all cases, not forced on players because they happen to be in open world.
*sigh* It's an MMO.
And? MMO doesn't mean "group all the time" or even some of the time. It means a lot of players are co-existing in a shared online world. It means the ability to group should exist - and it does.
People come into group content and don't know what to do.
#1: Everyone starts somewhere. We all know that you were so miraculously gifted that you came out of the womb knowing advanced mechanisms for every boss fight, but most of us didn't.
#2. If you want to play strictly with a team of veteran players, join a guild, make some friends in the game and have fun. That's a lot more realistic than expecting random players in a PUG or groupfinder to meet whatever your exacting specifications are.
#3. Blame the devs for forcing players into Groupfinder to complete Galactic Seasons and other objectives. There are plenty of people who wouldn't be there if that weren't the case.
People come into flashpoints and want to watch the cut scenes.
Hang on. Let me process this. In a story based game, players want to watch the cut scenes? For real? That's completely unreasonable! /sarcasm
In the latest flashpoints, they've more or less removed all the cut scenes. You have your wish granted. For the older flashpoints, there are still many that don't have solo/story mode. The only way people can see those cut scenes is in veteran or master. If you have an issue with this, start advocating to the devs to make solo story versions of those flashpoints.  I feel like the bottom line is that everyone has the right to ask for the type of gaming experience they want, but they don't have the right to insist everyone else should share that experience.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider {Katsuki Bakugou x Reader}
Word Count: 2.6k
Warnings: Cursing, Blood, Assault
Summary: Your grumpy (and ridiculously attractive) neighbor helps you rid of the spider in your new apartment. Things grow from there.
Notes: fem!Reader, ProHero!Bakugou, Bakugou hates feelings
Tumblr media
That’s it. You were moving out.
So what, that you just managed to unpack the last box in your new apartment? One look at that eight-legged... creature, and it was their apartment now. You weren’t trying to be dramatic, but spiders were the absolute bane of your existence.
This led to you shakily standing over the said arachnid, a large All Might mug trembling faintly in your hands.
“Oh shit, oh fuck-- FUCK!” You shrieked as the spider took a quick dart to its left. Nope. No way.
It had taken about an hour before the spider was successfully captive. Another hour to finally figure out what to do next.
And now there you were, pacing back and forth in front of your neighbor’s front door, mumbling failed greetings to yourself like a desperate prayer.
“Hi, I’m-- that’s not right. How about ‘I just moved in and--.’ God, I sound like an idiot.” Gathering all of your courage, you rapped three quick knocks on the front of the wood. The urge to bolt was suddenly very powerful.
“I swear to God, Shitty Hair, if you-- Oh.” The door was suddenly swung open to reveal the most gorgeous person you had ever seen in your whole life. With biceps the size of your head, the man completely dwarfed you in size. He almost took up the entire space of the door, his spikey blond locks brushing the top the frame. Vermillion eyes stared at you cautiously as you forgot everything you were about to say. “The fuck you want?”
As you made no move to answer, the Greek god of a man pulled his lips into a scowl.
“What are you, a fucking stalker or somethin’?”
That definitely brought you out of your reverence.
“W-What? No!”
A scoff left the man’s lips, and you suddenly wanted nothing more that to kick him straight in the jewels. However, you were on a mission. A mission to rid a tiny eight-eyed demon from your living room.
“There was a, uh...spider.” You slowly trailed off, waving weakly in the direction of your apartment across the hall.
 “A spider? Really?” The blond questioned condescendingly, rolling his stupidly-perfect crimson eyes.
A light flush brushed your cheeks in embarrassment as you stared down at your shoes. You were sure he was going to slam the door right in your face. But he didn’t.
The man brushed right past you, marching right though your open door-- making sure to loudly mumble as many complaints as he could. You stumbled after the tall blond, failing to keep up with his abnormally long strides.
You watched in silence as he crouched by the downturned mug, raising a single perfectly-sculpted brow. However, your silence was quickly turned into a squeak of horror when your neighbor dumped the spider into his bare-hand.
For a moment of absolute terror, you thought the stranger was going to throw it at you.
Wide-eyed, you watched as he pushed open the nearest window and placed the spider on the railing of your fire-escape. Having pushed the window back down, the man turned back to leave your apartment. As he walked past, he shoved the now (thankfully) empty mug to your chest.
“W-wait!”
He paused, sliding his crimson gaze to yours.
“M-My name is (Y/L/N)… (Y/L/N) (Y/N).”
You weren’t quite sure why you felt the need to give him your name. Maybe it was because he helped you when you were absolutely sure he wouldn’t. Or maybe how he decided to let the bug free instead of kill it. Maybe it was the amused huff he let out when he heard your terrified squeak. Perhaps it was all three. You didn’t know.
His striking red eyes suddenly raked your frame before a smirk settled confidently on his all-too-attractive lips.
“Bakugou Katsuki.”
~~~
“HOLD THE FUCKING DOOR!”
You let out a squeak at the sudden yell, sticking the toe of your nude-colored pumps between the sliding elevator doors. A muscled arm wedged itself between the doors, pulling them back open.
“You.” You breathed as none other than your extremely hot neighbor was revealed. The blond was clad in a loose black V-neck and sweatpants-- a large duffel bag thrown over his shoulder. His hair was slightly damp, as small beads of water dropped off the edge of his spikes every couple of seconds.
“Stalker.” He acknowledged with a grunt. The corner of Bakugou’s lips shot up at your protests.
The ride down to the lobby was relatively silent and slightly awkward. You kept switching your weight on both legs as you struggled to find something to say.
“The fuck you dressed so fancy for?” The explosive blond finally said. You couldn’t help but let out a breath of relief at the break in silence.
“I got a new job at All Might Bank!” You were pretty excited, as it was your first day. The bank itself was pretty fancy, and you were cheery that it was named after the old symbol of peace. All Might had been your favorite hero growing up but you grew out of your hero phase as you had gotten older. Nowadays you couldn’t tell one hero from the other.
You turned to Bakugou with a smile, content that he even cared about your life. It was quite a surprise when compared with the vibes he gave off.
“What about you?” You asked cheerily.
“... Agency.” He grunted.
“Oh! Are you a model or something?” You knew it! There was no way that a man as attractive as Bakugou Katsuki was not the cover of every magazine. He was, just not for the reasons you thought. You watched in confusion as the explosive blond emitted a loud snort.
“Or something...”
DING!
You were almost sad as the elevator dinged, signaling the end of the ride. Although it was short, and mostly awkward, you found yourself enjoying his company. You walked side by side until you reached the doors to outside, pausing slightly when he went to part.
“Thank you.”
Bakugou froze at your expressed gratitude, studying your figure with renewed interest.
“You know... for the spider?” You seemed to lose all cognitive brain function when he looked at you with those frustratingly gorgeous vermillion eyes. Bakugou scoffed and turned away, muttering a quiet response. Little did you know that he was trying to hide a light blush.
“Whatever...”
~~~
You were happy to say that these shared elevator rides became a daily ritual, to the point where Bakugou started to bring you his delicious leftovers for your lunch (he made the meals especially for you, but would die before he ever admitted that). Before you knew it, you were quite smitten with the blond.
You couldn’t help but replay this morning’s occurrence in your head as you filed checking account after checking account.
 “Good morning, Bakugou-kun!” You called as you exited your apartment. You didn’t even have to look anymore. Bakugou had a habit of waiting for you outside your door to give you his most current dish.
“Morning.” He grunted in response, hating the way his heart skipped a beat.
His eyes scanned over your form, (longer than considered friendly) as he checked your outfit. Bakugou always seemed to have some sort of fashion-ready advice on the tip of his tongue, and with you still thinking he was a model-- you were more that happy to comply. And also for the fact that he really did have a good eye for it.
“Undo the top two buttons… you look like a nerd.”
Your eyes quickly flashed to your white button-up, pulling at the two buttons with one hand.
“Better?”
Bakugou only grunted in approval. He was trying to act like he wasn’t on the verge of kissing the ever-lasting life out of you.
~~~
“Hey, Newbie! Get me a coffee, will ya?” You were quickly pulled out of your daydream by one of your (slightly arrogant) bosses.
“Of course, sir.” You answered as you hurried to the other side of the bank. You’ve been at your new job (and apartment) for about a month, and they still won’t let up on the whole “newbie” stuff.
You sighed as you waited by the coffee maker, situated right to the left of the big glass entrance. Oh, how you would have loved to pour that coffee right over your boss’ head. Too lost in your own head, you failed to notice the suspicious group of men heading straight for the vault until one of them grabbed your arm.
“What the fu--”
“EVERYBODY DOWN OR SHE DIES!”
Oh shit! Oh fuck! Your mind was reeling at a million miles per hour. The man had pulled you to where your back was to his front, and had a blade pressed against your throat. It seemed to come out of the inside of his wrist, being a relatively deadly quirk if handled correctly.
Everyone within the pristine building froze but quickly dropped to the floor after some warning shots from one of the robbers. Another suddenly morphed into some sort of beast and marched to the steel vault door.
You suddenly wished that you had a more physical quirk, cursing it for being so useless in this situation. Yeah, you knew basic self-defense, but it would be futile with three other villains in your midst.
Minutes felt like hours, and you could only hope that someone had alerted the police and nearby heroes. You winced as the blade dug into the delicate skin of your throat.
A sudden explosion burst through the skylight of the building, raining glass shards on the hostages. All at once, people were screaming, running, and blast after blast started ringing in your ears. You let out a sigh of relief.
The heroes were here.
Using the distraction, you quickly gripped the man’s arm tight below the base of the blade. You pulled it away from your neck ever so slightly, ducking your head to pull yourself through the gateway you had created. Keeping your hands locked at the base of the robber’s wrist, you twisted his arm and shoved up-- forcing it to pop from its socket.
A sudden bump to your shoulder from a running hostage caused you to slip up on your little self-defense sequence, allowing the man to break from your grip. He whipped around to face you, holding his dislocated arm. You panicked, so... you socked him in the face.
He let out an enraged cry, thick blood gushing from his nose. You were a bit surprised with how easy it was to land a hit on him. You thought that villains would have been more prepared before robbing a bank named after All Might.
Oh, well.
You punched him again in the nose for good measure, and he was out like a light. His hot red blood coated your knuckles, and you gagged in disgust. Ew. You wiped the back of your dominant hand on you button-up absentmindedly, before being shoved to the floor by your panicking boss. Wow. Your limbs felt like mush now that the adrenaline was wearing off, and you suddenly couldn’t find the strength to pick yourself off of the floor.
A final explosion went off, followed by the most desperate and wretched call you had ever heard in your entire life. And the call... sounded suspiciously like your name.
Your eyes shot up at the scream, searching frantically for the owner of that voice. You knew that voice, you only ever heard it in grunts and light-hearted mocking sentences, but you knew that voice.
“Katsuki.” You breathed, eyes suddenly locked on familiar crimson irises.
Relief flooded his features as he saw you, and was at your side in seconds-- dropping quickly to his knees.
“Oh my god.” Bakugou breathed, grabbing your head and cradling it tight to his chest and-- what the fuck was he wearing? Wait, there was no way... he was the explosion hero you saw on the news! Holy fuck!
“You scared the shit out of me! Do you know how terrified I was when I heard there was trouble at your work?! And you didn’t answer your goddamn phone? Jesus Christ, (Y/N).” Worried rambles fell rapidly out of Bakugou’s lips, seemingly void of any filter. You would have been ecstatic by his cute little worrying if your mind wasn’t reeling by the fact that your crush neighbor was one of the top ten heroes in Japan.
He suddenly grasped both sides of your face and pulled back so you were eye to eye.
“Are you hurt? I swear to God, if someone hurt you-- I’ll fucking kill them.” Bakugou’s eyes were frantically scanning your face, looking for any sign of injury.
“...Katsuki?” You mumbled softly, and he immediately froze. He felt his heart lurch in his throat as his name tumbled from your lips. You, on the other hand, were completely, and utterly lost. “You’re a pro-hero?”
“....What?” Bakugou questioned dumbly. “You could have been seriously hurt and that’s the first thing you think about?”
“What? I thought you were a model.” You whined, lightly smacking his chest.
At this, Bakugou let out a loud laugh, and you just watched in awe. You had never seen him laugh before. Even though half his face was smeared in black makeup and little injuries littered his skin-- it was the most beautiful thing you had ever seen in your life. He pulled back to look at you, but suddenly froze.
“You’re hurt! Why the fuck didn’t you tell me?!” Bakugou shouted, spotting bright red stains on the front of your blouse. You quickly grabbed his hand, hoping to soothe his panicking.
“Hey, hey!” You yelped, gaining his attention. “It’s not mine.”
You gestured over to the villain knocked out next to you.
“Holy shit.” Katsuki breathed, before turning his vermillion gaze back to yours. A quiet, amused huff escaped his lips. “So you’re afraid of a spider, but can knock out a villain?” He questioned teasingly.
A light blush covered your cheeks, causing you to force your eyes down. You suddenly noticed just how close you two were. You were situated about half way onto Bakugou’s lap, as one of his large hands softly held your waist. The other was still trapped between your own. This caused your blush to only darken.
“Hey, eyes up here.” Bakugou muttered, lifting his hand from your waist and to the base of your chin. You force your eyes back up to his, but couldn’t help but sneak a quick glance to his lips. However, Bakugou saw it, and that was all it took.
Bakugou crashed his lips onto yours, and you were quick to respond. You tangled your hands within his soft blond locks, allowing him to completely dominate the kiss. His hands held you tightly to his body, refusing to give even an inch of space between you two. He didn’t let go even as you pulled back for air, his lips chasing after yours.
Time seemed to stop while he was kissing you, and every one was distressed with the thought of losing you. It was soft and sweet, and then rough and desperate-- the sweet smell of caramel, of Bakugou, invading all of your senses.
You finally broke for air, breaths mingling shamelessly. Bakugou rested his forehead on yours, wanting nothing more than to never let you go.
“I’m so glad I found you, Stalker.”
Bonus:
A low whistle dragged out across bank, turning the couples’ gazes over to a certain hardening hero.
“SHITTY HAIR, I SWEAR TO--”
The End.
Notes:  This was my first imagine! I hope you guys liked it!
Just a Little Longer
MORE NSFW, MORE GENSHIN IMPACT! This time I wrote for the wonderful Kaeya, I just thought that this particular concept was perfect for him, and I hope it is to your liking as well!
Genshin Impact
Kaeya Alberich x Fem!Reader
Summary: When you finally find the Cavalry Captain and seek his advice on a peculiar situation, he has other things in mind that quickly turn rather troublesome for him.
Notes: SMUT!, Oral (m! receiving), swearing, 18+ ONLY, MINORS DO NOT INTERACT!
Tumblr media
With hurried footsteps, carrying papers in your hand you walked towards the Grand Master’s office after failing to find the Cavalry Captain in his own one, though it did not surprise you. Kaeya was never where you first expected him to be, never staying in one place. You were rather used to this, and a part of you didn’t expect to find him in Jean’s office, but once you opened the door and your eyes met his icy blue ones, you were relieved that your search had come to an end.
There he was, sitting in front of the large table, emerged in a book he had no doubt snatched from one of the many bookshelves in the office. The sound of the door opening caught his attention and he was quick to wear his usual charming smile as soon as his eyes set on you.
“Oh, it’s you (Name),” he spoke with his usual tone, not taking his eyes off you as you walked towards the table. “Is something the matter?” There was an obvious hint of mischievousness in his voice as if he had some ulterior motive. This, however, went unnoticed by you in the midst of looking through the papers. It was not uncommon for him to have that kind of tone after all.
“Have you seen these commissions?” You asked, walking next to him and placing the papers on the table, resting your other hand on the top rail of the wooden chair. You kept your gaze on the text, oblivious to the admiring eyes glued on you.
“There’s an obvious increase of hilichurls around the area, according to these,” You began, going over the papers one by one to summarize their contents. It was abnormal to have this many concerning reports about anything, let alone simple hilichurls. “I’ve ruled out the possibility that it might be just children messing with us again, there are so many of these and they’re all written with different handwriting.”
Your words went unheard by him, as he was far more interested in watching you as you leaned against the table. How close you were, how your lips moved as you talked, how your exposed neck was downright begging to be filled with kisses and marks produced by his lips. His smirk grew while you continued talking.
“I’ve already shown these to Jean, she thinks it’s for the best that the knights take care of them before they get too close to the city.” You sighed, recalling the Grand Master’s words.
“It’s just that there are so many of them. We might need every single- Kaeya, are you listening to me?”
In the middle of your speech, you had managed to lightly glance at the navy-haired knight, only to find him paying little attention to the subject at hand, only staring at you rather intensely. The answer to your question was clear from his gaze and smirk alone and when his hand settled on your waist, you knew where this was going.
“Hm? Oh, these?” For the first time he blessed the papers with a glance that didn’t last long as he quickly returned his eyes to you. “Can’t they wait? I’d much rather do something else right now.” Kaeya lightly squeezed his hand that rested on your waist, a teasing action that made you understand his motives. A sigh left your lips, though your face warmed up.
“Kaeya, these are urgent commissions, and like I said Jean wants every knight to-”
Without letting you finish your protests, Kaeya pulled you to his lap with surprising ease and immediately pressed his lips against yours. His grip on your waist was strong, belonging to a starving man that wanted nothing more than to explore every inch of your body. The way his mouth moved against yours made your stomach tingle and you instinctively placed your hands on his shoulders, quickly forgetting all about the papers that still remained on the wooden table.
Kaeya smirked against your lips, his hands moving along your sides in a way he knew he would make you melt. His small mission was a success as the combination of his hands on your waist and his tongue exploring your mouth caused a faint moan to slip from your lips. You tugged his silky locks with your fingers, pressing yourself against him in an effort to have him as close as possible while leaning into his burning touch.
His lips found their way to the sensitive skin of your neck and they settled on a familiar area that he had traced and sucked on many times before. He nibbled on the area, ran his tongue over it, and groped your covered breasts, earning him a set of soft sighs and whimpers. The heat between your legs only increased when you felt his clothed erection poke the flesh of your thighs.
A whisper carrying his name left your lips, which he was more than delighted about, enjoying the way your voice sang his name in pleasure. He moved to a fresh, untouched spot and continuing his effort to mark your (S/C) skin with his lovebites. You moved one of your hands down towards his crotch your fingers teasingly leaving light touches on his hardening cock. Kaeya let out a groan, your touch sending sparks throughout his being.
With a soft push from you, he pulled away from your neck, his eyes admiring the two marks covered in a thin layer of saliva his mouth left behind. His hands were still on you, which he then used to impatiently remove your shirt, leaving you in your bra. Wanting to see you fully exposed, he went to remove your undergarment as well, but you swatted his hand away, a playful smirk on your lips.
“Not yet. Just sit back and relax.”
Kaeya watched in awe as you lowered yourself to his crotch, his eyes glimmering in anticipation and his twitching cock begging for your attention. You were more than happy to fulfill his silent wishes he didn’t even need to state out loud.
Your hands went to unzip his pants, but the sudden sound of the door opening startled you and before you knew it, the Acting Grand Master herself was entering the room. With quick movements you slipped under the table, having been almost under it anyway, hoping and praying that Jean hadn’t noticed you.
“Kaeya! There you are.”
The cavalry captain, nervousness plastered across his face, quickly leaned against the table in hopes of concealing your presence further while trying to somehow ease the crimson shade dusting his cheeks. He cleared his throat, his heart hammering in his chest at the fear of Jean discovering what sinful acts you were about to perform.
“J-Jean! What brings you here?”
His voice was fairly normal, though it had a slight shake to it which you hoped the blonde didn’t hear.
“Actually, I was just going to ask you if (Name) had already told you about the unusual commissions.”
Kaeya swallowed a lump of nervousness as he realized that he didn’t have the slightest clue about what Jean was talking about. He was so focused on feasting your eyes on you that your explanation went over his head like a slime thrown by a hilichurl.
“Oh, (Name)? She left some time ago,” Kaeya replied, trying to appear as normal as possible and perhaps avoid having to explain the hilichurl or whatever situation as he knew he wouldn’t be able to.
As you listened to them in anxiety, your eyes traveled to his unattended crotch, his erection still very much apparent. You stared at it, your mind wandering and dirty thoughts filling it completely. You thought that since it was technically his fault that you were now uncomfortably crouching under a table, it was only fair that you’d use this opportunity to make things as difficult for him as humanely possible.
With a mischievous smirk, you placed a single hand on his thigh. He jumped slightly at that, his eyes immediately glancing at you, only to meet with your impish one.
“I see,” Jean said, pacing around the room, deep in thought. “Such a bizarre situation. Hilichurls have never been this close to Mondstadt. I already sent some knights to deal with a fraction of them, but it seems there are even more of them than we thought.”
Kaeya tried his best to remain calm but the feeling of both your hands running along his thighs didn’t make his efforts any easier. One of your hands found his crotch and his breath hitched as he felt you pressing your palm against his twitching cock and gently rubbing it.
Your eyes glued themselves on his expression that tried its hardest to remain neutral but was torn between wanting to let you pleasure him and trying to remain professional. A small part of him enjoyed the thrill, though.
Fortunately Jean hadn’t paid too much attention to her colleague’s expression, focusing more on trying to comprehend the current situation. Kaeya mentally thanked the Anemo Archon for that.
“What I’m wondering is why are they so active all of a sudden? Usually, they stay relatively still in small camps, but now they’ve been seen trying to make their way into the city.”
With painfully slow movements, you unzipped his pants, freeing his hardened cock. The red tip was dripping with precum, almost begging you to lick it off. Kaeya took a deep breath and was close to letting a moan out when he felt your hand gripping his shaft, giving it a few, slow pumps. He bit his lower lip and his breathing became heavier. His throbbing erection yearned for your touch, but his mind was chiding him for allowing you to risk getting caught.
“Could the Abyss Order have something to do with this? They always seem to be behind abnormal situations like this one…”
When Jean’s eyes turned back to him, Kaeya immediately attempted to steady his breathing and cover any signs of discomfort. Not that what you were doing was uncomfortable, on the contrary, the confrontation with Jean just made his stomach churn.
“Who knows..? Whatever the case may be, I’ll be sure to-”
His icy eyes widened when your tongue touched his tip, licking the precum away. Your hand stayed around the base, pumping him while you tauntingly wrapped your lips around his tip. Only his tip. This made Kaeya want to grab your head and push it down so the entirety of his length would be engulfed by your hot mouth but he mentally cursed at the situation for allowing you to get away with teasing of this caliber.
Kaeya shuddered and ran his hand through his hair, the feeling of you sucking on the tip of his throbbing cock sending sparks and shocks of pure bliss to every part of his body. His face got hot and he bit back a moan or two, faintly hissing under his breath.
“What was that?” Jean asked, slight concern in her eyes. “Is everything okay?”
Kaeya was almost too quick to answer which only made your smirk grow.
“Yes! Yes, everything is… fuck… E-everything is fine.”
He swallowed another moan, faint pants leaving his mouth as you slowly took his entire length into your mouth. Kaeya fought the urge to throw his head back and instead opted to dig his fingers into the palms of his hands, biting his lip with such force he wondered why he hadn’t drawn blood yet. Still, he somehow managed to keep talking.
“I… I’ll make sure to get rid of them as soon as possible.”
Your tongue glided along the veiny surface, your cheeks hollowed as you bobbed your head up and down. Kaeya took the tiniest risk and looked down at you and immediately regretted it as the sight was far beyond what he could have imagined. You stared right back at him, malicious sparkle in your (E/C) eyes that send shivers down his spine as if you having your pretty lips around his cock wasn’t enough already.
“That’s good to hear. Thank you Kaeya.”
Jean gave him a smile, somehow still oblivious of what was transpiring underneath the table she so often sat in front of.
Kaeya was on edge, your movements showed no signs of slowing down, if anything they became faster, hungrier and he was sure that it was only a matter of seconds before he would give in and accidentally let out a lewd moan or brutally buck his hips against your mouth that so skillfully pleasured him.
The feeling was beyond anything he had ever encountered, it made him wonder if it was due to the intense situation mixed with the anxiety of getting caught doing such dirty things. It was unbearable, but he loved it. Your mouth was perfect around him. Hot and wet, sliding along his length wonderfully, taking all of it so well.
“It’s still so strange though…” Jean placed a hand on her chin, eyes falling to the ground as she wondered. “What could be sucking them towards Mondstadt?”
The choice of words Jean let out almost made Kaeya choke on his saliva, and only made you more eager to make him cum. You moved your tongue against the underside of his cock, knowing how that particular action made him see stars. He pressed his eyes shut, unable to prevent the tiniest of moans from escaping his mouth. This only prompted you to keep going, wanting him to come undone from your mouth alone.
He was close, you could tell by the way his dick twitched in your mouth and how labored his breathing had become. It was adorable how he attempted to look unbothered despite being entirely at your mercy. A sadistic side of you loved this, bending him to your will, and the sight of him biting his lip while trying to mask his lewd sounds made your panties wet.
“Well, whatever the case, I’m sure we’ll be able to handle it.” Jean threw him a smile and began heading towards the door, much to Kaeya’s comfort as he was more than certain that he wouldn’t be able to hold his voice back should he reach his orgasm soon. And judging by your unrelenting pace and the fact that you effortlessly took all of him that was most definitely the case.
“Let’s hope the situation calms down, I’m glad I can count on you Kaeya.”
The only response Kaeya could give was a moan disguised as a hum of agreement. It seemed to be enough as Jean opened the door and gave him a final goodbye before finally leaving, giving you the privacy that was so dangerously challenged by the Acting Grand Master.
Now it was your turn to let out moans as you milked him with your mouth, head bobbing faster and your hands lightly caressing his balls in an effort to make him cum. This seemed to send him to a totally new state as Kaeya finally let his voice out, muttering swears under his breath as he watched you work your magic on his cock.
“F-fuck… (Name)...”
The way his voice came out with a set of sighs and whimpers only made you moan more and you grabbed his base once again, pumping him while your hungry mouth sucked him harder.
Kaeya felt the knot in his stomach come undone and with a heavy groan he came in your mouth and you did your best to swallow it all, not wanting any of the sinful fluids falling on the clean ground. His pants filled the room and he threw his head back, the anxiety from before washing away with his intense orgasm.
You released his cock with a few lingering touches that made him twitch before finally settling in his lap once more. You kissed him and he happily returned it, placing a hand on your cheek. When you pulled away, you noticed a strange glint in his eyes. It was almost disapproving but at the same time, playful.
“That one got real close, angel,” he breathed, to which you merely laughed.
“Maybe next time you should actually listen to me instead of thinking with your dick.” He mirrored your smirk and chuckled.
“You naughty girl. Teasing me like that.” His hands were on your waist again.
“You brought this on yourself.” You whispered and touched his nose with your finger before getting up and grabbing the papers with which you had originally come into the office.
“Let’s go take care of these, or would you rather actually get caught by Jean or someone else?” You glanced at him, noticing how he had zipped his pants back on and stood up. He chuckled.
“No, you’re right. We’ll have plenty of time to play later.”
You smiled in approval and turned towards the door, but stopped when you felt his hand on your shoulder, lips practically glued to your ear as he whispered:
“You better prepare yourself, angel.”
He placed a single strand of your (H/C) hair behind your ear before planting a kiss on the shell of it. The action sent shivers down your spine.
“Once we are done with this, it’s payback time.”
05.
there’s a scar you’re not telling
You almost thought you were running late. Well, you weren’t.
But you were late to miss the early train.
Fuck.
And the train was packed. Just fucking great.
With your backpack hung in front of you, you tried to balance within your personal space whilst avoiding bumping into others. Thing was, it was getting more and more cramped as it was rush hour.
Why the fuck did school have to be so damn far!?
Businessmen, students, workers slowly filled in and out the train, it was wall-to-wall of people, barely allowing you a breather. Still, it was fucking cramped.
Absentmindedly, you bunched your hair together, letting it drape over your left shoulder, fingers nimbly working on a braid through your (h/c) locks.
Just as you secured it with a tie, the train cart screeched, the sudden movement throwing you off balance, falling back. Thankfully, warm hands grabbed hold of your shoulders, steadying you.
Your eyes turned to the windows, wondering if there was an attack from villains, some people were muttering behind you, thinking the same thing. Overhead, the PA went off, apologizing for the turbulence then announcing the next stop coming up.
Everyone sighed in relief, realizing it was just a train momentum, people were now shuffling around at the announcement, some preparing to leave while many others struggled to remain in their current spots.
Looking over your shoulder, towards your captor, with a smile you offer your gratitude. “Whew, thanks- “then you met ash blond and carmine, smile faltering, lower eye twitching, but a gratitude was still in order. “Yeah, thanks.”
Bakugou Katsuki's response was a noncommittal hum, roughened hands slowly slipping off your shoulders. As the train came to a stop, there was a shuffling of people, you were just about to take a step back, allowing people to move, but remembered that he was behind you. Though you were steady on your feet, it was still rush hour and people tend to really rush into the train - not wanting to miss the train. One false move and you could find yourself squished against someone, or against the window, or be cornered by some pervert – all options made you shudder.
Damn it. This is why you take the early train!
“Here,” without waiting for you to argue, roughened hands gently brought you aside, your back against the wall, shoulder touching the railing, with him in front of you. Protectively.
The feel of his hands on you made you remember just how warm they were, how big they’ve become compared to before.
“Um,” you didn’t like the way his eyes bore into yours, especially when it felt like he was seeing through you. “thanks. Again.”
Okay, not counting the time you had to confirm it earlier, that was two times already. Two words of gratitude in one morning.
He just blinked, towering over you whilst the train filled. Just the mere fact that he was in front of you made you consider a lot of things. Now that you had a good look at him, you could see that in his UA uniform, he was dressed rather ruggedly with the top buttons undone, even his blazer’s not completely buttoned, and his pants were loose – Auntie Mitsuki must’ve given him hell for his appearance. It was a total contrast to Izuku, who dressed like a good schoolboy – granted, he’s always been one. He just didn't know how to work a tie.
Regardless, he looked every bit of a high schooler now. Physically speaking, he’s always been muscular in build and tall – because of his good genes. But in a matter of time, because of his UA education, he’ll probably build up more.
But wow, it’s only been a few months since high school started, he’s definitely gotten bigger. Izuku, as well, but Bakugou’s muscles were more prominent-
Shit, were you ogling him?
Geez, it’s too early for these thoughts. Leaning against the railing, eyes squeezing shut, tucking your chin in, you groaned angrily to yourself.
Thankfully, you had your bag in front of you, creating a respectable space between you both.
Also, you could just end up not talking right? That was a thing.
You barely know the guy anymore, after years of bullying under his command, years of distance – he was nothing but a stranger to you now.
It hurt, actually.
There was a time when you were so close, never apart.
Everything just had to change because he had a quirk, birthing this damn ego that propelled him further and further away from you. Izuku, too.
And though you had your own (longer than Izuku), you felt so behind.
Him and Izuku in their UA uniforms, you in your generic public-school uniform.
The two of them were going places you could never see yourself following.
“Hey,” he called, voice surprisingly soft, cutting you off your thoughts. “that mark on your neck,” due to the environment noises surrounding, he had to lean in so you could hear him properly. “how did that happen?”
Fuck. He was too damn close!
But at the mention of the mark, hands instinctively reached for it, just by the junction of your neck and shoulder, abnormally shaped like a heart. A tiny splotch, that was over years old.
“You wouldn’t remember.” It was barely a whisper, but it reached his ears, carmine eyes faltering.
“Try me.”
Lifting your head, (e/c) eyes meeting carmine, fixing him an almost pained look. He balled his hand into fists at that, gazes holding, unwavering - a thousand words could be spoken.
The train came to a steady halt, finally reaching your stop.
Not breaking eye contact, you told him, in one breath. “It was when you discovered your quirk in kindergarten.” Then the doors opened beside you.
Hurriedly, you exited, never looking back.
Absentmindedly, your hand reached for the mark. To others, it might look cute due to its shape, but to you, it was a reminder. One of the many, anyway.
(It burned when you touched it.)
Tumblr media
Middle school was a rough time, especially when you were the quirkless girl, an easy target, or a punching bag. Little did they know of your martial arts prowess and of your quirk, that even though you were restless in the morning, you learned to conserve just enough energy to fight, it just made you extra tired the next day though.
One day, you were cornered by a bunch of girls, all of which were fangirls of Bakugou, they saw you as a threat because of your relationship as childhood friends, forgetting that it was rather strained.
It was a four against one, which you easily won - because they chose to approach you near dusk, that was when your quirk picked up, but not without casualties.
“E-Eh, (Nickname)!? What happened to you?” Izuku frantically hovered over you when you met on the way to school.
Chuckling easily, you scratched at your bandaged cheek. “Ah, you know…assholes with quirks.”
His expression only worsened; eyes filling with tears. “(N-Nickname)…”
“IZUKU, PLEASE DON’T CRY!” you cried out, tossing your shoes into your shoe locker, lazily slipping on your indoor shoes. “Don’t worry, Izuku, I got them all.” You assure, adjusting your bag on your shoulders. “Besides, you’re forgetting that I’m a badass who knows martial arts!”
That quells him a little, worry still in his eyes. “T-That’s true. I’m just not sure how to feel that you have to resort to actually using them to defend yourself. I mean, I know you’re good at martial arts, because it’s in the family, and you’ve always been kind of strong and quick on your feet-“
“Izuku,” cutting him off, you worked on a cheeky grin. “I’m fine.”
Unconvinced, he fixes you a look, brows knitting together. “Just promise me you won’t get into fights again,”
Ah, he’s so cute when he’s being serious.
Scoffing, you swiped at your nose with your thumb. “No promises, so long as loose assholes with quirks continue to run amok and mess with me, I’ll show them exactly how I’ll mess them back and worse!”
That only made him uneasy, somehow a bit assured. “(N-Nickame)…”
When you both entered the room, your eyes easily caught on the girls from yesterday, each sporting some cuts and bruises from yesterday. The corner of your mouth lifted into a smirk, whistling breezily towards your seat.
“F-For now, (Nickname), are you feeling better? Do you want some aspirin? Do you need to head to the clinic?”
You shook your head, smiling at Izuku’s concern, he can really mother too much. “Like I said,” you said in a sing-song “I’ll be fine~ This’ll all heal soon enough, you’ll see.”
As soon as you said that, a pair of carmine eyes looked your way, focusing on each and every bandage and bruise on your skin.
Feeling someone looking your way, you turned your head. “Can I help you, Bakugou?” you drone lazily, leaning back against your seat to give him a bored look.
“A-Ah, K-Kacchan! G-Good morning- “
“Should’ve stayed at home to rest, idiot.” He tells you, eyes never leaving the bruises and bandages.
“Fuck off.” You replied, knowing the girls from yesterday were watching. Hopefully, that assured them that your relationship was pretty non-existent. Dead.
For the rest of the day, you were teetering on sleep and academic dedication with the former winning at each turn – a drawback of your quirk. Thankfully, you managed to snag some sleep during Japanese Literature and Science.
“Ah, (Nickname), you look like you’re getting better. But it would be wise not to sleep in class next time…” Izuku tells you, beratingly.
Yawning, arms stretched upwards, you fixed your best friend a dopey grin. “That’s alright, I can always depend on you for notes!”
“Really,” he sighs, announcing that you two should probably head off to lunch.
Tumblr media
Yawning, you made your way to the meat section, mumbling over and over the things you need to buy for dinner. Lately, because your grandfather’s been working with Eraser Head, he’s been quite antsy when it comes to food, and a bit demanding, too!
Tonight, he wanted steak. FUCKING. STEAK. IT WAS EXPENSIVE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! AND HE DIDN’T EVEN SPECIFY WHICH STEAK HE WANTED!
Grumbling under your breath, you were just about to reach for the Wagyu steak (on sale, lucky you) when another hand appeared, reaching for the same thing, making you halt.
“Ah-" looking up, you were met with familiar warm brown eyes. "Uncle Masaru!”
“Oh, (Name)-chan, it’s you!” Came his soothing calm voice, eyes brightening at the sight of you. “It’s been a while.”
“It has been, Uncle.” Your smile grew, turning to him fully before the cold wind gently whispered to your skin as if to remind you. “Ah, you can have it, by the way.”
“No, no, you were reaching for it first.”
“No, I insist!”
“Please, (Name)-chan, it’s the least I can do. Also, this at least gives me an excuse to make something else,” he replies sheepishly with a light chuckle.
You paused at that, processing the information shared. Bakugou must’ve wanted steak for dinner, but since Uncle Masaru gave up the meat, it was yours now. It was your win.
Pettily taking the win as yours, you happily took the steak and dumped it into your basket. “Thanks, Uncle Masaru!”
If he noticed the mischievous – almost devil-like expression on your face, he didn’t mention it. He just smiled, kindly, warmly, like how you remembered.
“How have you been?” he asks you.
Normally, the question would annoy you, because it was rather basic. But it’s not every day you run into sweet, mild, and good-natured Uncle Masaru.
“Eh, I’m doing very well, as you can see.”
“I’m so happy to hear that. You used to be the smallest thing, with scrapes and bruises on your pretty dresses. Whenever you and Izuku were over, it was either a riot or a party.” Okay, you had to laugh at that, but it was true. Uncle Masaru laughs with you. Having him remember those things were endearing, made you feel warm. And guilty.
“I know it might seem awkward, but Mitsuki and I would love to have you over for dinner sometime. If that’s okay with you? Of course, you can bring Izuku-kun.”
Glancing up, you met the man’s kind gaze, the one thing Bakugou never got from him – everything was from his mom, he only ever got Uncle Masaru’s spiky hair and height.
You didn’t want to say no, neither can you say yes, but you sure as heck didn’t want to disappoint Uncle Masaru.
“No promise, Uncle Masaru,” his expression fell, shoulders dropping. “but, I’ll see what I can do.”
He smiled weakly. “Then that’s more than enough for me. Just don’t be a stranger, (Name)-chan, okay?”
Smiling softly, you bowed at the older man and turned on your heel.
Cutting your losses with someone really hurts, especially when it involves certain people.
Cutting off from Bakugou meant you had cut off all contact with his parents, whom you loved so much since they took care of you for a time when your parents had passed – both taking turns to visit you when you were deep in depression. It hurt, but it was expected when you decide to cut someone from your life. Nobody is spared.
Tumblr media
This time it was seven-against-one.
After having their asses served to them, those bitches managed to talk some filthy high schoolers into beating a middle schooler. A quirkless middle schooler.
Rolling your shoulders, you enjoyed the burn of your wakened muscles. “Wow, you bitches really want to make yourselves look bad in front of an audience, huh?”
So far, they’ve all showed to have power quirks that could be readily usable for the future, should they decide to make use of it. Sadly, their prized quirks turned out to be nothing but a waste for these fuckers.
You easily toyed with them for the first few minutes, allowing a few hits in before retaliating with a force and speed that was twice theirs. You made sure that the punches and kicks, especially to those bitches, stung and hurt, they were your own brute strength honed from training and your quirk.
A sickening crunch rang in your ear after some high school student punched you in the cheek, you made sure to return the favor by capturing his next punch, taking your legs up to strangle him by the neck, catching him completely by surprise, using your weight to swing your body towards an approaching somebody before jumping off.
Watching the two high schoolers stumble to the ground, you lazily walked up to the rest, fingers caked with dirt, grime, and blood, knuckles aching, a dark bruise forming on your arm, (h/c) hair was a mess.
Spitting blood on the ground, you wiped the corner of your mouth with the back of your hand, grinning at your next opponent, eyes glinting dangerously, menacingly, excitedly.
The rest of them faltered at your expression but didn’t back down.
That was alright, that meant they weren’t complete pussies after all.
Also, you liked fighting.
You came from a family of fighters, the thrill of it made your blood sing, made your instincts come alive – it made you feel alive.
“Hey, I’m a little disappointed,” you call out, watching the group – beaten and bruised. “you lot say you’re strong, an added bonus is your oh-so-cool quirks, so beating a measly, quirkless middle schooler like me should be no problem,” working on your most sickening grin, you tilted your head. “right?”
“Fucking bitch!”
“Now you’re really asking for it!”
“We’ll beat you black and blue!”
Falling into a stance, adrenaline rushed through your veins (and mentally preparing for a tongue lashing from your grandfather), when an explosion went off.
Clouds of smoke and sand filling the air, gushing furiously against the wind, making you squint.
“OI! IS THIS SOME DIRTY TRICK!?” you yelled, voice fading into noise of wind, sand, and explosions.
More explosions went off, going out at random – big, small, small then big. There was screaming and panicking on their end. Maybe they’ve probably found themselves in some yakuza turf and are being under attack? Shit, you had to make a run for it while you had the chance!
The sudden change of scene wasn’t good for your senses, everything was completely mushy and too much to comprehend. You at least remember where you put your bag, running towards a certain direction, you stopped at the sight of one of the fuckers. Their eyes widened at the sight of you, you readied a fist, but the gust was making your eyes water.
Falling to your knees, you covered your mouth as you coughed – having inhaled too much smoke and dust in your lungs, he saw this as an opportunity to attack you. But something grabbed him by the shoulders, some punches and groans followed, then an explosion could be heard before footsteps approached you.
Too busy coughing your lungs out, you were ready for any pain thrown at you, especially when you were at your most vulnerable.
Instead, a garb lands on your head, shielding you, arms easily scooping you off the ground, something lands on your belly, then loud hurried footfalls were taking you away from the scene.
The more you coughed, the more it felt like your lungs were going to give out, too strained to heighten your senses.
Eventually, your cough died down, your hands rubbing at your chest from coughing too much, throat dried out.
Ah, I probably will run into those assholes again, since we weren’t able to finish the fight.
You must’ve passed out – or dozed off, you weren’t sure – because the next thing you knew, you were being lowered down gently on a soft and cool sofa.
“W-Where…?”
Tugging the garb off your head, (e/c) eyes flinched at the light, strained to make out the furniture around you, the familiar TV set, the fancy-looking wall panel, the familiar staircase, that unmistakable family portrait – one brunette, two explosive blondes-
Wait, you were at Bakugou’s place?
What the heck, you haven’t set foot here in forever! Why’d he bring you here?
Fully coming to, you turned to the blond “Why’d you bring me here!?” you had to ask, demanding.
The sudden movement stung at your fresh injuries, making you coil in your seat.
“Where else was I going to take you?” he replied immediately, coolly, loud enough for you to hear as he was taking two bottles of water from the refrigerator. “My place was closest, yours takes a while to get there, plus, you wouldn’t want to worry your family, right?”
You stared at him, distrustfully, then at the water offered to you, shocked to find that he remembered how much your family would worry over your injuries – big or small. He was always the one carrying you home, almost witnessing first-hand how much your mother would be near tears, your grandfather giving you a murderous-worried look, and your father just ash-faced and pale.
Taking the water from his hand, you nodded your thanks, pressing the cool item against your jaw, hissing in pain from the punch thrown earlier.
Carmine eyes narrowed at that, an emotion crossing over them.
“Don’t move,” he orders, walking off somewhere, you don’t care, eyes wandering around the area. It’s been a while since you were here, the last time was when it was his 10th birthday. After that, though, you and Izuku stopped receiving invitations.
Twisting the cap open, you took gentle sips, relishing in the cool water running down your throat.
The Bakugous were loaded – because Uncle Masaru worked in the fashion industry and Auntie Mitsuki worked in a cosmetics company. The two adored you, treating you like a daughter they never had – Uncle Masaru would gift you cute dresses (which Bakugou would make fun of you whenever you wore them) whenever he can, and Auntie Mitsuki was a hard-ass woman you looked up to.
But since discovering his quirk, Bakugou had become unbearable to be with, a shitty friend to both you and Izuku, ties had to be severed. However, that also meant not being able to see Uncle Masaru and Auntie Mitsuki, who were surely saddened by you and Izuku’s absence.
Suddenly, Bakugou was in front of you, his gakuran unbuttoned, exposing his shirt underneath, a first aid kit in hand. Eyes meeting, a silent conversation was being held, carmine clashing against (e/c). Fixing him a dull stare, he clicked the first aid kid open. With a roll of your eyes, you allowed him to clean your wounds.
Silence filled in, nothing you both seemed to mind. Surprisingly, for a guy with an explosive, volatile quirk and a shitty attitude, he was rather gentle. Not like you’ll ever tell him that, eyes looking around the house, remembering the times you were over with Izuku, anything to avoid staring at him in awe.
“Do they always come for you…” having finished cleaning most of your wounds, his voice came out quiet, but you heard it, a statement rather than a question.
Blinking, you were unsure if he deserved an answer. He thought that was the case and asked again, dipping iodine into the cotton, “Do they always-“
“I don’t see how this is any of your concern.”
Noticeably, his fingers stilled. Then, something smoked, it was the cotton ball, now reduced to ashes. A beat passed before he found himself working again, getting another cotton, now applying ointment to your bruises.
“Do you always need to fight them back?” There was a slight edge to his voice, controlled yet on the verge of breaking.
(E/c) hardened down on him, a seesaw of options playing in your head.
“Have to.” You reply breezily, watching him snap his head up to meet your gaze, unfazed by the anger in his carmine eyes. “You wouldn’t understand.”
“No shit.” He growled, hands beginning to shake. “What I do understand is the disciplinary action you’re gonna get once people find out you’ve been fighting fellow students, even if it were an act of self-defense! Y-You,” he slammed his fist into the glass table beside him, cracking it a little, his head hanging. “you could’ve just called the teachers, told them, too. About those bitches…”
“Again, I don’t see how this is- “
“YOU’LL BE FUCKING EXPELLED, (NAME)!” head still hung low, you could feel his hot breath and tufts of his hair against your skin, making you tingle a bit. It scared you to be this close to him, after all this time. Scared of how he was still protective of you.
Hating how you could hear the guilt in his voice because, in a way, he caused this, he allowed this, he was the reason. He was scared for you.
And he called you by your name.
The seesaw in your head continued, teetering, options weighing one after another.
“…why do you care?” One option up, the other falls. In the end, you just destroyed the seesaw. “Why waste your breath and time on an extra like me, quirkless too, if I might add, why waste your time?”
His head snapped up to yours, his expression was a shock to you. Why…why did he look so devastated, so crushed, so- “(Name)…”
Unable to stay any longer, never mind your still healing body, you stood. “I’m going now. Thanks for treating my injuries. I’ll..." you gulp, hard. "I'll try to avoid getting into fights.” Without waiting for a reply, you grabbed your bag, heading towards the door. “Bye.”
Tumblr media
The next day, extremely exhausted from the fighting, Izuku once again panicked at the sight of your bruised and beaten face. When you reached the classroom, you were more than ready to meet the gazes of those bitches – only to find out they had been suspended, as they were given serious warnings should they cause another fight with you.
Apparently, someone had reported their involvement in ganging up on a quirkless student. Plus, there was a video of them taunting you since first year.
Bakugou was in his seat, looking anywhere but your way. Returning the gesture, you quietly sat in your seat, listening to whatever Izuku had to say.
Since then, you swore never to get into fights anymore for the sake of Izuku, and because Bakugou practically begged you.
Tumblr media
“How’s school?” your grandfather asked, helping himself to some bok choy.
Shrugging easily, you cut a piece of steak, gesturing for his bowl to serve it to him. “Could be worse, but I’m doing fine.”
“Clarify, silly girl.”
“Mathematics continues to chew me in the ass,” you tell him, avoiding the hit thrown your way.
(Name) – 1, Shihan – 0.
“You’re failing already!?”
“Translation: it’s difficult, not I’m failing. Geez, old man, context!”
You barely dodged the chop aimed for your head, making you wince from the pressure.
(Name) – 1, Shihan – 1.
“That’s no way to talk to your elders, silly girl!” handing you an empty bowl, you nearly pawed it off his hands.
Angrily, you scooped him his heaping, a mound of hot rice returned to him. “Where do you think I take it from!?”
(Name) – 2, Shihan – 1.
“Enough arguing, more eating, foolish girl! We have training to do!”
(Name) – 2, Shihan – 2.
Narrowing your eyes at your grandfather, you wished lasers would come out just to fry off the last of his remaining hair out of petty spite.
Regardless, you loved your grandfather and appreciated these banters. He was rough on you, only because he wanted to teach you to be strong and to be able to hold off whatever was thrown your way so you can repay them back twice, thrice, or ten times more.
You were his pride and joy the moment you were born and swore to your parents that he’d guide and protect you so long as he was still kicking.
“I ran into Uncle Masaru today.”
“Oh! How is the man?”
“Same as always. Not a single grey hair in sight, despite living in a household full of rabid Pomeranians and hitting his forties.”
The Yoruichi patriarch stared down at you, unamused. “Please don’t tell me you told him that.”
Snickering, you deftly avoided his chops.
(Name) – 3, Shihan – 2.
“Gramps, please, like I’d be so willing to break Uncle Masaru’s heart.”
“You don’t have a problem doing that to me.”
“Simple: you’re literally and figuratively old,” you pointed with your chopsticks, waving them in the air as you enumerated more. “you’re Shihan of our dojo, and you have to raise me!”
(Name) – 4, Shihan – 3.
You failed to block the flick on your forehead after finishing your piece.
“Don’t wave your chopsticks in the air, fool, it’s rude.” Snickering at your whining, knowing it’ll leave a mark, he ate more steak. “And easy there with your words, silly girl, otherwise, I’ll repay your kindness in training!”
Recovering, you smirk, helping yourself to some steak. “Bring it! You know I love a good challenge!”
“Oho? My, someone’s cocky.”
“I wouldn’t be your granddaughter, either way.”
You two laughed at that, dinner coming to a finish as your grandfather happily ate the last of the steak. Eyeing the leftovers, you delighted at the thought of tomorrow’s lunch.
Just as you were to clean up, your grandfather asked a question: “By the way, how is the young Bakugou boy?”
(Name) – 4, Shihan – 4.
You stopped at that, hands freezing in the air, feeling your grandfather’s stare on you.
“Dunno.” Came your reply, hands found themselves resuming their work. “Don’t care.”
He watched in silence as you arranged the empty plates, bowls, and chopsticks. “Still not in speaking terms, eh?”
“Yep.”
Your grandfather didn’t have to ask to know that something changed between the three of you, especially with you and Bakugou. What you two had was not something so easy to forget, especially when both of you had been so close. Since then, his name had been taboo in the house.
“He goes to UA with Izuku, right?”
At the mention, you feel the tension seeping away slightly, mouth fixed in a straight line. “Yeah…”
“Are they in speaking terms?”
That made you scoff, fixing your grandfather a dubious look. “Civil, to say the least. Izuku’s not a brute, not like that other one.”
The animosity was clear in your tone as you talked about the other boy, like a bitter pill. Strong arms, decorated in scars and tattoos, crossed against his chest, displeased yellow eyes fixed on you.
“Has he tried talking to you?”
Shrugging with one shoulder, you turned to a lone rice on the table, flicking it without care. “He has, but they’re pretty half-assed.”
“What makes you say that?” to which, he received another shrug from you, mouth twisted into a twisted pout.
Consciously, you reached for your mark, rubbing at it with your fingers. “Some things are better left unsaid, the same way that some things buried should never be unearthed. It’s better off that way.”
His eyes never left your form, taking in your slouch, the look on your face, the sadness in your eyes. “Are you talking about yourself? Because that’s a rather selfish line of thinking, don’t you think?” Shifting, he slowly stood from the table, you watched him stand and met his gaze, offering you a sad look. “In a way, aren’t you being half-assed, yourself?”
beautiful stranger.
oikawa x reader
a short piece in which oikawa tooru approaches you on a idyllic evening. it’s a little awkward though, since you’re trying to die.
word count: 3.3k
tw: indirect and direct implications of suicide.
Tumblr media
your warm hands stay gripped onto the metal rails in front of you, applying enough force to watch your knuckles turn white. you find yourself doing it over and over until your fingers numb from the continued pressure. alone, you’re mulling over mundane affairs. you’d rather not be thinking about them but find this loop all too easy to fall into.
the shadow of the railing casts over a large canal, its water sifting freely, far beneath you. it laps over itself, slithers of fish break the transparent surface as they swim. some of their scales rise to kiss the sunlight in opaque relfections.
thin layers of petals scatter the ground beneath your feet that have slipped from overhead trees and continue to flutter down freely. glowers of dying sunlight seep through the shapes of them as they fall.
in this moment, autumn is alive.
it’s really lovely right now.
you’re here, all caught up in chasing that feeling of peace. safety in an open space. you have to cope with that fact that tranquility never comes easily for you.
there’s nothing that should be leaving you as deeply unsettled as you are. you’ve learnt to largely ignore feeling so overwhelmed, though it stirs and resurfaces times you wish it wouldn’t.
what’s bugging you is that you can’t quite get a grasp on your own life.
for starters, everything lacks coherent meaning. to you, there’s something constantly missing every single day. nothing purchasable, nothing attainable through hard-work and any level of perseverance. truly, it affects you so much so that even just standing here, feet glued to the very spot that is undeniably ‘lovely’, brings you nothing but unimaginable sadness.
earlier, you brushed it away as an off day but you know that’s not true. you’ve been feeling like this all the time.
it is, therefore, not at all abnormal to wonder: can a person have such thing as an off life?
you really don’t like to think about things like this too much. once you begin to muse over deep naysay you find yourself snowballing.
solutions are painfully unobtainable and it’s generally as productive as chasing pavements.
do i really enjoy being alone? or am i obsessed with the sensation loneliness brings?
“you know, if you stare long enough, you might end up wanting to jump in.”
at once, your vision snaps up, taken aback by the additional voice. you hadn’t realised that during your mindless lamenting, another person had quietly joined you by the evening canal-side.
fair skinned, dark eyed, chocolate curls brushed neatly over his features and cowlicks that bob against the light gusts of wind.
a boy offers you a smile, before shifting his feet towards the empty space to your left. you can’t seem to process him, staring at the empty spot he’d been in seconds earlier.
you’re not supposed to be here right now.
“i was totally kidding by the way.” he adds. “that was really dark, sorry.”
you’re silent in return, eyes casting back onto the running stream. the water is shallow and the fall long, so jumping in would certainly prove fatal. you know all of this too well. it’d disturb the fish who are just here to live, though, it’ll only be for a moment. they won’t know any better.
you don’t really know what to say. it’s troubling that he’s here and hearing it out loud disturbs you, like a direct call out. at no point were you prepared for any kind of conversation prior.
the two of you stand there in complete silence. it’s not particularly awkward, you just don’t know why he’s approached you so easily, talking to you like he’s known you well enough to make outlandish jokes.
asking directly for his intentions seems rude, so you’ll put up with it until he leaves.
“do you always come here?” the stranger pipes up once more, though his focus doesn’t leave the water. you breathe in deeply.
“sometimes.”
“oh, i see.”
his palms lay flat and he pushes gently off of the rails, only to fall back onto them with all his weight. he does it again, repeating the process over and over at a steady pace. you stay hunched over, keeping your distance. he doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest though, clearly absorbed in his surroundings.
“it’s like a set out of a movie, this place. seems like somewhere i’d ask my girlfriend to marry me.”
your tongue rolls around in your mouth.
yes. you think. his girlfriend would most likely be thrilled-over the top-squealing if he did. that’s entirely his business.
you really don’t care to hear of other people’s romantic endeavours.
is it out of jealousy? you don’t know. maybe.
this conversation is meaningless. you wish he’d go away sooner so you could have this time to yourself.
also, jealousy is an ugly word. you hate it.
he stops his movement with a exhale of air, tilting his head back to blink up at the warm sky. the last touches daylight mingle with the oncoming darkness, creating a deep tinge of orangey-yellow.
“when’s your birthday?”
‎a petal lands on the bridge of your hand, sticking to your skin.
“do you want my social security number?” you deject.
“what? no!”
“are you sure? really, i’ll give it to you.”
“no!”
“then why are you asking for my personal information?”
he falls silent for a moment, before mumbling out a small: “just wondering.”
a tinge of guilt creeps over you at his apologetic tone. you admit, your answers thus far must make you seem like a completely unapproachable asswipe. you’re not at all. you just aren’t all that sure how to make small talk with strangers when you’re trying to part with the world by dinner time.
it feels like an unexpected guest at your very lonesome party.
“it’s (insert birth month).” you fold.
he purses his lips, face contorting a little.
“i see.”
he doesn’t continue down that path after your response. the both of you return to a mutual silence, staring into the portrait scenery ahead. the stream fills the soundscape pleasantly. fallen leaves have gathered at the base of your shoes, brushing over the tip gently with the turn of the wind. you observe them quietly.
“can i ask you another question?”
he seems a tad more timid now.
he definitely thinks you’re the type to blow up and give him an earful about minding his own business, doesn’t he?
you’d never raise your voice. in general, but also because it’d break the comfort of the scenery the world has so generously given you.
“sure.”
“do you believe in soulmates?”
‎the question is a little random but not impossible to answer by any means.
“no.”
“what?”
“i said not really.”
“you said no.”
“that’s the same thing.”
“...fair enough.”
‎he exhales out, sounding a little disheartened by your curt response. perhaps to him, you were a tough nut to crack; an ambiguity for him to understand. were all people like that? you weren’t playing hard to get, in fact, you’d answered every single enquiry he has had to offer. his efforts are amusing, though.
you raise a brow at him.
“i’m sorry, was that the wrong answer?”
for a moment, he doesn’t reply, stuffing his hands into his pockets, gazing down at the head of his shoe. pivoting his ankle, he draws small circles with the tip of his foot into the ground, into the dead leaves.
“not at all.”
“your expression says otherwise.”
“um, it was just a bit bleak, i guess.”
you let your arms droop way over the railing, fingers wading through the autumn air. you’d never really taken the concepts of soulmates to heart. it was romantic bullshit put out by somebody looking for a fantasy to indulge in. out of seven billion people, there could hardly be a singular person made for you. people aren’t born for other people. if that were the case, it wouldn’t be a rose-tinted fantasy. it would be suffocating. where’s the freedom in love?
“most people always answer like you these days anyway.”
“oh, sorry.”
he looks up at you, tilting his head.
“no, don’t be.”
back to a default mute, left with nothing but the faint chitter of overhead swallows and the odd rumble of cars passing by.
“tooru.” he states, after a while.
“what?”
“tooru. my name is tooru.”
“oh, okay.”
“oikawa tooru.”
‎your fingertips have become flushed. maybe you’d pressed a little too hard on that cold surface earlier. now that all your blood has come rushing back, the tingling sensation feels foreign.
his name slips of the tongue rather easily, don’t you think?
“nice to meet you, oikawa tooru.”
“it is nice, isn’t it?”
for the first time, your gazes meet properly and you offer him a crooked smile.
“i suppose so.”
off the side of the canal, almost right under the bridge, a small cluster of ducks have gathered. adult ducks tend to be considerably larger than its offspring —as is factual with any animal— so it’s easy for you to tell that there’s only one parent there, along with three of its ducklings.
people like to come to the canal to feed the ducks bread, though you’d heard somewhere that it’s actually quite bad for them.
you wonder. do ducks care particularly if one of its ducklings die? will it do something with the body, cry out, hurt?
or is grief exceptionally human?
“i don’t actually have a girlfriend, by the way.”
he sifts out his phone, tapping the screen and sliding it open. you watch him turn it to its side, before leaning over to take a picture of the depths below. you just watch.
“oh, okay.”
he doesn’t elaborate, focused intently on his current task. your attention returns to the shape of the birds, bobbing up and down rhythmically.
there’s only so much you can say about the canal. yeah, it’s beautiful. you don’t have the right vocabulary to describe the way it makes you feel. honestly, it feels abysmal to even try. you’re convinced though, that you’re in love with the way the water moves. you’ve always appriciated it whenever you walk past, told yourself jokingly that you could die there if you had to.
funny, that.
beautiful things tend to hurt in an unbearably amplified manner.
“say, tooru?”
“yeah?”
“if i climbed over the railing right now, would you stop me?”
you’re both fixated on the paddling now. his phone is back in his pocket, elbows propped up. he hums, taking his time to think over your question.
“most likely.”
your fingers meet one another and the tingling spreads to your palms.
“i’m thinking of jumping, actually.”
“oh.”
“yeah.”
“my joke earlier...”
“yeah.”
his fingers drum rhythmically on the slender poles under the rail top.
“then i’d jump right in with you.”
the corners of his mouth tug slightly at your perplexity, supressing a chortle. he’s not laughing at you, though. it’s more a gesture of understanding. this tooru doesn’t know you at all, yet he gets it. he gets it all too well.
you get that he gets it.
tooru clears his throat. “bad day?”
“that’s an understatement.”
“well, you’re not a bad person for feeling the way you do.”
by now, the ducks have swam away, you can make out the general shape of them, melding into the distant, mute colours of the bankside. the sky look minutes away from being set alight. time has never been your friend, you see.
“i feel crazy for trying.” you’re rather blunt about it.
“fair enough.”
“…is that all?”
“well, do you want me to tell you that you’re not crazy?”
you lull into silence.
“i don’t know.”
with that, you shift to angle yourself so that he’s in your immediate peripheral, the thought of gawking at him seems ridiculous but you want to look at him. you find it hard to do it up front for some reason.
“i’m no suicide expert, but it’d probably be lonely doing something like that by yourself. wouldn’t it be comforting to know someone’s falling with you?”
your fingers run absently across the jagged surface of the rails, the old paint has been chipped away at, after all its years of protecting. in all it’s history, had anyone else hitched themselves over this very rail?
were they asking for the same answers as you?
god. that’s awful. you don’t want to think about that.
you catch each others’ eyes for a second but you resign quickly, focusing as hard as you can on the flecks of black on your thumb.
“that would be selfish of me.”
“not if i’m offering.”
you scramble to look anywhere else, abruptly turning. you’re facing away from the canal, stomach fluttering a little as you fall onto the rail’s length.
in all your time by yourself, you’d never been given an irrefutable reason to ‘be’. it’d always been a live-for-the-day type of experience. if a day is good, you’re utterly blissed out by it, totally in love with life. if it’s bad, you have little reason to go on. nothing particularly interests you enough to dedicate your days persuing it. fame seems tedious, looks are temporary, a six figure career sounds like emotional jail-time, or a slow, schedule-filled trek to death. whichever description sounds more sufferable.
you see, in essence, we all get off at the same bus stop. some journeys are simply shorter than others.
“you’re guilt-tripping me out of it.”
“i’m not!”
you’ve never stopped to ask yourself what it is you want.
death interests you, you suppose. though, you don’t see the reason to wait around and pretend to ignore it until one day it drags you kicking and screaming.
“oikawa tooru, don’t you have better things to be doing than offering to jump off bridges with strangers?”
that coy smile tugs at his lips once more. nothing you say seems to phase him. it’s like he knows you. he’s thinking: yeah, this isn’t anything out of the ordinary for them.
“should i? you look at that water like it’s someone you hate. or love. maybe both. i got curious.”
“curious?”
“yes. and quite frankly, you’ve left me curious. practically starving. you haven’t even told me your name.”
“my name doesn’t matter.”
“boo. that’s not true at all.”
his tongue pokes out, tugging at the corner of his eye. you shake your head, genuinely unable to hide your amusement, turning to him properly this time.
and really, it’s like the canal side and oikawa tooru were made from the same stardust. he blends right into the picture, as effortlessly pretty as the rest of it.
the strands of hair out of place, a little disheveled from the breeze. the scarf buried into his nose, glasses a little misty from the heat of his own breath but when they clear, you see his eyes all too well.
you’d like to tuck those strands into place, they’re bothering you just a little.
“(y/n).”
your brows furrow a little.
really, this could all very well be some sort of fantastical dream. as nice as it all is, it feels painfully unreal. boys don’t look like that on autumn evenings or offer to die with you.
that’s it.
tooru must be a figment of your imagination.
no. wrong. not a dream.
this is a corner of your mind you haven’t ventured into yet, psychologically, some kind of safety net. a sliced off piece of reality you’ve come to hide in because you’ve utterly lost your mind. he is nothing but a part of you that makes you feel at ease as you come to terms with your self-destruction.
god, that bothers you more. you are crazy.
your hand extends, reaches out all on its own.
you just want to know if he’s real.
oikawa tooru glances down for a moment, he’s probably wondering about you, what’s left you in such a state. though, he’s happy to slide his palm against yours, latching onto it. he shakes once, twice. a little more. tightens his hold a bit.
the weight of his fingers as they brush lightly against your palm is fantastical. he’s so warm. you can feel it spread through you from the pads of your fingers.
he’s very real.
tooru has rather pretty hands.
the contact makes you feel kind of delirious, a produce of being utterly touch-starved. just a simple touch. you’re embarrassed to say it but it takes everything inside of you not to start weeping or hold on frantically in case he does disappear, do something bizzare that’ll scare him away forever.
hey, tooru. are you made of honey?
“well, (y/n), i’m offering you my life right now.”
the sun has set foot on the horizon, plunging in ever so slightly. as a child, the thought of night scared you, feeling largely betrayed by the sun’s farewell. now, it’s a unique kind of comfort to see the moon. it’s as lonely as those who lay their eyes upon it.
“i don’t want it.”
his fingers slip downwards against the dips of your palm.
“you don’t?”
“no, i mean... i don’t want death. not right now..”
you don’t even want to think about it anymore. funny, how things like that work. you were so sure of it. today was the day. your dark rendezvous. weren’t you itching for it?
this bastard.
this man you’ve never met. he clasps onto your hand once and suddenly he stops your nauseating rollercoaster of thoughts and leaves you wondering if, actually, you’d like to see the canal-side again tomorrow, or in fifty years.
who are you really, oikawa tooru?
“no?”
“yeah.”
“then what do you want to do?”
“stay right here, i think.”
your fingers curl, maintaining your hold on him. you should be shy or awkward about this whole ordeal but so you’re desperate for that warmth to continue.
you both stand there, facing one another, hands extended. it’s a little robotic looking. you’re pretty stiff but very sure this is what feels right.
to you, existence is based solely on feeling your way through stages of life. that sickeningly sweet innocence of youth. childhood memories that to you, are dwindled husks of gold, valuable in some aspects but almost meaningless in others. to laugh or to cry allows an individual to create a deep-set connection to the environment around them. it is no longer passing scenery but a moment in your life you once lived through.
that’s beautiful, isn’t it?
unfortunately, emotion provides both a living fantasy and the potential for agony. life is not sweet, nor innocent. it is what you make of it.
it is what your mind is forced to make of it.
and as much as one wishes they were as coddled and loved as they were children, life beyond those years is lonely, difficult and more than you were ever capable of.
were you weak? perhaps.
but maybe people aren’t built for life. we’re all weak.
and realistically, if you are unable to clamber over one obstacle after another -established by those before you- you’re doomed to fall behind.
that will hurt. you will hurt unforgivably because self-worth is no longer a beautiful gift of internal discovery and love but another way to be measured and downsized externally. a practice that leads to hatred. a desire to die.
that’s really where it all began for you. a romantic, a poet at heart, living inside your own, kinder world. that is until reality knocked on your door, invited itself in, just to set the entire thing on fire and leave you as vulnerable as the day you were born.
you aren’t allowed to hide. it comes looking for you eventually.
your stance on life hasn’t changed, afterall, you’ve spent nights mourning over how much it can hurt to live. to fall asleep exhausted with yourself, only to wake up and do it all over again. what you do know, however, is that droning, lonely feeling isn’t there right now. that ongoing, battering ruckus inside your head has ceased. tooru, the strange magician, has left you thoughtless and a little dumb.
you like being this stupid. for once, there’s nothing intrusive prodding the inside of your head.
it’s frightfully quiet, actually. you don’t know what you’re feeling right now. how much time has passed since he’d made that awful joke?
his gaze is on your lingering contact, before lightly pulling you closer, twisting his wrist down so you’re holding hands. your gaze moves to the bankside. you feel comforted. maybe it isn’t death, maybe all you want is a hand to hold.
probably not. that is a stupid, sappy thought. you’re still fanatic about ending your life.
you were so close to doing it, without even really understanding what you were doing. the canal scenery is overpowering, numbing, if you will. without oikawa tooru, you may well have kissed those fishs’ fluorescent scales with your own two lips, as cold as ice with some unfortunate early-morning runner discovering you by twilight.
“we can do that.” he hesitates. “if i’m honest, i would have been pretty scared to jump.”
“yet you still offered?”
tooru hums merrily in confirmation.
“why?”
“because you’re cute.”
you can’t believe your own ears.
“what? seriously?”
“yeah. originally, i wanted your number but things took a small turn.”
you burst out in gutteral laughter, free hand back onto the railing for support. for a moment, you look at him, shaking your head in utter amazement.
“you’re a piece of work, tooru, you know?”
“yeah, i know.”
he smiles back at you. the shadows cast by the setting sun only make him all the more enigmatic.
now that you think about it, you can’t figure this guy out at all. it’s like staring at a wordless piece of paper and trying to find something legible.
“how do you know i won’t come back and repeat all of this tomorrow?”
tooru tilts his head ever so slightly, observing you. his eyes flutter down to your lips, speaking like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“because you told me your name.”
“what does that have to do with anything?”
“well, now that i know that, you’re no longer just a beautiful stranger.”
you understood now. he hadn’t just offered you his life, he’d offered you him. by living on, you’d accepted graciously. he knows that if you visit the canal side again, you’ll only remember this moment.
a bad moment that he, in all his glory, turned into a good one. the day you two first met.
oh, clever boy. he saved you.
though you must say, oikawa tooru, you’re very much mistaken.
you are the beautiful stranger.
a tear runs down your cheek, a little warmer than you could’ve expected.
one turns into two, slipping more and more. eventually, you’re standing over the canal, hand in hand with oikawa tooru, sobbing quietly as the water runs peacefully below the both of you.
warnings: mentions of death, not detailed description of death, break down.
Todoroki Shouto
Tumblr media
-He had heard on the news about a massive attack near a pre school which got him worried for the kids but then he saw you along side with your agency fighting off the villain and was sure everything would be fine.
-He knew that you would do anything to protect those kids and how powerful you were.
-Everything didn’t go smoothly though.
-He didn’t know what happened only that you were in the hospital along with another person who was injured during the attack.
-Once at the hospital he walked into your room only to find you fast asleep your chest steadily rising and falling.
-The bandages on your arms and neck were slitghtly stained, the sight broke his heart.
-After talking with your doctor, he stayed all night by your side holding your hand as you slept.
-When you woke up after a day you immediately asked to call your agency.
-He saw how your face dropped at the news you were given and he tried to coax you to tell him what was wrong.
-He couldn’t help you if he didn’t know what was going on.
- “A little girl was hit by the villain during the attack I-I wanted to know if she made it....”
-Just by looking at your expression he knew that the little girl was gone.
-He tried to tell you that it wasn’t your fault but you quickly changed the subject.
-You were always like that, bottling your feelings until you found the right time to let it out and he knew that you were doing just that right this moment.
-Once you got out of the hospital you were told to stay at home for a week in order to let your stitches heal.
-Your silence was abnormal but he knew better than to push you to talk to him, he didn’t want to fight you.
-Everything came to a breaking point a day before you were to return to the agency.
-He woke up in the middle of the night to an empty bed and ragged breaths coming from somewhere within the house.
-He dashed to the living room finding you crouched, with your hands digging into your hair.
- “Y/N, love, love look at me.”
-You were whimpering slightly when he settled in front of you, tears rolling down your cheeks.
- “I-I need to say it Shouto.”
- “Let it out love, let it out.”
-You took a ragged breath before looking him dead in the eye, your sobs becoming stronger with every word.
- “I-it should have been me. It should have been me. It should have been me. It should have been me.”
-You kept repeating the phrase over and over, cupping his face as more tears rolled down your face.
- “No no no no sweetheart-”
- “Yes you idiot, it was MY fault.”
-It took him two full hours to calm you down enough in order for you to tell him what had happened.
-The blast that hit the child was actually for you but you had managed to deflect it in time before it hit you.
-What you hadn’t taken into account was where that blast would land.
-It landed a few feet away from the child but she was hit by the debris and you dove in to save her resulting in the deep cuts all over your body.
-The thing was that you made it and the little girl didn’t.
- “It should have been me....”
Midoriya Izuku
Tumblr media
-He was with you when it happened.
-You work at the same agency and were sent to a rather secluded area to difuse a villain.
-It was an abonded warehouse that only the villain used.
-Things escalated when he refused to come quietly and began attacking.
-Everything was going fine until you saw the little boy near the entrance.
- “Get out of here!”
-You shouted at him but he didn’t budge, he was frozen in fear.
-The poor thing was staring wide eyed at the villain who was ruthlessly attacking Deku.
-You rushed over to the child and scooped him up, sprinting out of the warehouse.
-The villain noticed that and ran after you forgetting about Deku, putting his all into taking you out.
-If he was being honest he thought you were running away.
-He had no idea you were carrying his son in your arms.
-So he attacked.
-You didn’t have time to respond to the attack, only shielding the boy as you were slammed into the nearest wall.
-The wall came down with you and the only thing you remember hearing before you were knocked out by the falling debris was Deku’s voice calling out to you.
-You were certain you had shielded the child completely.
-That he wouldn’t have been hit by anything.
-That you had taken all the damage leaving the boy to walk out from under the collapsed wall with a few scratches and bruises.
-That was your goal and all be damned if you weren’t ready to give your life to protect the kid.
-But when you woke up in the hospital Deku’s face was painted with sadness and borderline pity.
-He was relieved that you were alive and that you had finally woken up after a week of not knowing if you were going to make it, but he knew that what he had to say would devestate you.
-You may have hit your head but you hadn’t forgotten about the boy.
- “How is he? The little boy. Is he alright?”
-He stared down at his hands at your question, tears springing to his eyes at the sound of hope in your voice,
- “Y/N....”
-It dawned at you then.
-He didn’t make it out.
-Immediately you started trying to stand, to get to Izuku, to beg him to tell you that it wasn’t true.
-But you know it was true and one whole week laying in a hospital bed had taken its toll on you.
-You came crashing down the moment you stopped supporting yourself in the bed railing.
-Izuku was at your side in a flash bringing you to his chest as you sobbed for the life you couldn’t save.
-With your next comment Izuku knew you would never be the same, that today you had lost part of yourself.
-Burried it along with the innocent child you couldn’t protect.
- “I wish it had been me....”
"Kiss me Kei!"
"What? Tch, no that's gross."
"But I'm the mommy!"
"So?"
"You're the daddy! You gotta!"
"I don't even wanna play this dumb game."
"It's not dumb! Pleeaaasseee Kei-chan! For me?"
"Fine, come here."
The slap of the ball hitting the gym floor startled me out of my daydream. My eyes snapped up quickly to the game before me. Did we score? It took me a minute to even register what was going on and who I was looking at. I looked to the referee on his stepladder, waiting for him to call the point.
The whistle blew. He raised his arm. Boys in black and orange jerseys shouted. I clapped and cheered.
It all felt so robotic. But then I looked at him. Then the world shifted into slow motion and began to flow more naturally.
He raised his arm to wipe the sweat off of his brow, the movement mesmerizing. Even the jerk of his body when a teammate patted him on the back seemed graceful. Elegant. He pushed his glasses up a bit and glared at the offender. He turned to say-
"Y/n?" Once again I was startled from my thoughts. My head snapped to the right side where Yachi was standing next to me. She had a concerned look on her face. I swallowed, my dry mouth only producing a lump in my throat. "You okay?"
"Yeah, yeah," I responded quickly and looked back to the game. "Just focusing is all." This time I fought not to look at the boy. I didn't want to look at him anyway. I didn't. I didn't.
Finding my eyes drifting back to him, I launched into conversation to pull my mind from him.
"How's the girls team going?"
I was on the girls volleyball team as a first year. I only made the team because I was the only libero and, being honest, I was the best at receiving. I was abnormally short, so I knew I couldn't pull off many other positions.
Well, maybe I could.
I watched as the short, orange haired boy flew across the court and landed an impossible to receive spike. I still wasn't used to that combo no matter how many games I watched. Then again, I only had reflexes, not the raw power that that boy had.
I sighed and tore my eyes from the game to look at Yachi. I slumped onto the railing a plopped my head in my hands. "We need more practice games, honestly. The way we're going we're not going to win our match."
"Don't say that Y/n!" Yachi cried.
I shrugged and looked back at the game. My eyes found blonde hair naturally. "Its true. The girls don't practice enough. I think getting our asses completely handed to us will turn the team around. I just feel bad for the third years who will suffer from it."
Yachi didn't have a response to that. She changed the subject quickly and we chatted until the game ended, the whole time I focused on the freakish number ten instead of the boy I knew deep down in my heart I really wanted to watch.
"Nice net drop, broccoli brain," I smirked and clapped my best friend on the shoulder.
His shoulders slumped and he sighed. "I didn't even mean to do it," he bereaved.
"Fucking who cares?" I snorted. "Got us a fat point and they never saw it coming. Just remember how it felt and do it again."
"Y/n," Yama whined and tried to shake me off.
"Y/n giving you crap again?" A rich voice came from behind me, sending shivers down my spine. "That's rich coming from Pipsqueak."
"Says Mr-cant-block-for-shit," I shot back, turning around so that I could stick my tongue out at him.
"I'd like to see you try to pick up a real serve, not that-"
"Hey, hey, cut it out!" Yama stepped in between us, putting a warning hand on us both. "We're all friends."
I glared at Tsukishima but backed down. I didn't want to upset Yamaguchi. I knew how much he hated it when we fought, seeing as it was his two best friends.
I had known Yama since elementary school, when I saved him from some bullies. One day when we were clearly out matched, Tsukishima saved us in his aloof, roundabout way. From then on we were inseparable.
That is until the second year of middle school when Tsukishima and I started fighting all the time. Despite that, we still hung out together. Who knows why he put up with my constant antagonism, but he always reciprocated and never complained.
We got on the bus soon after the game, headed to the school. I was on the girls bus, them on the boys. When we got back to the school we met up again.
When we came to the usual splitting point, Yama spoke up.
"So I'll walk Y/n home," Yama offered like always. I was about to accept when Tsukishima spoke up.
"Nah, I'll do it." Yama cocked an eyebrow. "It's out of your way, Yamaguchi. She lives closer to me."
We all knew this, but the point had never come up before.
"Okay," Yama said warily. "Are you sure you don't want me to come anyways?"
"Tch, we're fine, I don't need a babysitter." Tsukishima rolled his eyes.
"Okay," Yama shrugged. He took a few steps backwards before he said goodbye and started off in the opposite direction.
Tsukishima wordlessly took off in the direction of our houses, so I followed. I was wondering why he suddenly offered to walk me home, but he offered no clues as to why. He used to walk me home before we always fought, but after that he stopped. This was the first time he walked me home in years.
So we walked in complete silence.
When we reached my house, we stood there awkwardly for a moment, looking at it. I wasn't sure what to say, but before I could figure it out, he spoke.
"Why do you hate me?"
I was startled by both the question and the sudden shattering of silence. I turned to look at Tsukishima. He wasn't looking at me, just straight ahead. I tried to read his facial expression, but like always, it was stone cold.
"I don't?" I answered uneasily.
Tsukishima sighed. "Yes you do, you always act so pissy towards me. You even tense up when I'm near."
"I do not," I frowned. I tried to think if I have ever done anything like that, but I drew blank.
"Yes you do," Tsukishima sighed again, pinching the bridge of his nose and closing his eyes. "We..." He paused. He brought he other hand up and rubbed his eyes, pressing his two fingers into his eye sockets. After a moment he threw his hand down, clearly having made up his mind, and turned to look at me. I felt hot under his intent gaze, his eyes searching mine for an answer I was afraid I didn't have. "We used to be close when we were little. What changed."
It wasn't a question. It was more of a statement. It was like he meant to say something different.
So I said it for him.
"We changed."
He scoffed, his face twisting into his signature cynical look. "Bullshit."
"No, that's the answer. Maybe you're not asking the right question," I shot back, confidence fueled by his venom.
He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it soon after. His brows furrowed and his lips pressed together. It was more emotion than he was exhibiting earlier, and for some weird reason, it made something in me happy.
"Why are you so mad at me?" He finally asked, face relaxing a bit. He seemed genuinely curious as to the answer.
His sincerity almost made me explode with anger. How could he not know? He was the most insufferable person in the entire world, what wouldn't I be mad about.
But then again, that was wrong. He never mad me mad with his snide comments and dirty looks. It was all in play and it never really bothered me, ever since we were kids, and he knew that too. So I couldn't lie and say it was his personality because I loved his personality. It was something else. Something I was afraid of admitting.
I grit my teeth. What did it matter if I said it or not? It's not like he'd understand anyway.
Once I made up my mind I met his eyes.
"Because you will never give me what I want."
"And what is that?" His voice was soft, wispy, breathless. Afraid.
Your love.
I couldn't say it. Bile rose in my throat and tears prickled at my eyes. I opened my mouth but quickly shut it. I wouldn't say it. I was too afraid.  My eyes fell to the ground, and with them, all my confidence.
All at once my mind began to barrage me. He will never love you, he could never love someone like you. He-
He laughed.
He fucking laughed.
My mind was thrown to a complete and total standstill by the absurdity of it. I looked back up at him with watery eyes in confusion.
"I thought you were smarter than that," he grinned, one corner of his mouth charmingly quirked upwards. "Than to decide what I think."
"What?" I mumbled nearly incoherently.
"We both know if you ask I'll do anything for you, so quit your crying, Pipsqueak."
I opened my mouth, completely surprised by his confession. He'd do anything for me? That couldn't be right...
But the more I thought about it the more I realized it was true. He had always done everything for me. Whenever I needed him he was there. It was me that started the fighting, all because I let my mind tell me that he could never love me, that he never would.
I met his eyes once again, this time brimming with happiness.
"Kiss me, Kei."
"Fine," he dramatically sighed, hiding a small grin. "Come here."
And he did.
Sweat drips from your forehead as you swing the wooden practice cutlass on deck in the same repeated actions Jongho and Yunho have drilled into you.
Left parry, right jab. Overhead swing, side slash. Dodge. Repeat.
Practicing is numb, mindless work. Honestly, you really hate it sometimes, but right now you’re ever so grateful for it. You take the time to organise your mind, your thoughts.
What do you do now?
Jongho, Seonghwa and San now know of your identity as a woman, and what you have learnt ever since your awakening. San is going to tell Yeosang about what the fortune teller had told you yesterday, and you may finally get some answers.
But something lingers on the edges of your conscience.
The sea witch.
The one who Seonghwa warned bargains with the mythical, the bridge between the supernatural and the mortal. And from the looks on San and Seonghwa’s faces, she didn’t sound like a person you’d want to meet.
Underhand swipe, stab.
“I am unworthy of looking upon her face, the one who you have made a deal with, the sea witch!”
Sidestep, lunge.
A deal.
You hunch over on your knees, panting as you take a break for a moment. The sky is still a dark indigo, the stars splattered across the deep purple canvas fading ever so slowly in preparation for the sun to take over their role.
“-a being of immense power that lives on an island that only people in great desperation can find-”
What had you been so desperate for as to turn to the supernatural? What could possibly be worth making a deal with the sea witch?
What had you gained?
You grip your sword tight once more, hate for all the hardships and agony your past self has put you through welling up inside of you.
You had woken up with absolutely nothing. You were completely alone.
Jab, slash.
What exactly had you given up?
Duck, stab.
Why did the fortune teller ask who had made you?
Wetness falls down your cheeks, but you don’t know whether it’s sweat or tears. Something about the word terrifies you. Why made? Why not ‘gave birth’? The way the fortune teller had spoken of you as if you are a piece of craft, not a human…
Why did she call the sea witch your mistress?
You toss the sword to the ground, panting from the exertion and the wild thoughts running through your head.
Did you sacrifice your memories?
“Hey, stowaway!”
You jump at the cheerful greeting, desperately wiping tears from your eyes that you hadn’t known were there.
“Yunho-hyung.” You internally curse the way your voice sounds like you’ve just swallowed a bucket of tar as the tall battlemaster makes his way across to you, his footsteps echoing abnormally loudly on the empty deck.
His hands are tucked into his pockets and his cheeks are apple red from the cold night air. Still, his grin is just as bright as it always is, and he stops next to you.
“Why are you up so early, stowaway?”
“Couldn’t sleep.” You mumble back, shivering slightly. The sweat on your skin has started to evaporate, leaving a chill on your arms and neck. Yunho studies the cutlass on the ground, your puffy, bloodshot eyes and the downcast look on your face.
You open your mouth to explain, to come up with some stupid excuse, but Yunho merely smiles.
“Have you been in the crow’s nest before?”
“What?” You’re caught by surprise by this question, not something you’d have expected to leave his mouth. The lookout merely continues smiling at you, waiting for an answer patiently. “Well, no.”
“That’s good.” Yunho grins at you charmingly. When you frown at him, a little confused, he explains. “That means I’m gonna be the first one to bring you up there.”
Gesturing for you to leave your sword where it is, he takes you by the wrist, long fingers encircling yours completely, leading you to the foremast. Yunho then places your hands against the coarse, thick ropes of the rigging, gently closing your fingers around them.
“Are you scared of heights?”
“Not really.” You reply honestly, but you are a little worried that you might fall like the clumsy fool that you are. You crane your head back, looking upwards.
The crow’s nest is pretty high up.
“Are you afraid of heights, Yunho-hyung?” You ask. The lookout laughs, clearly amused at your silly question and motions for you to climb.
“I am a lookout, you know. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to catch you if you fall.”
You stare at him nervously, placing a foot on the rigging. “But I had three pastries yesterday. And another chicken drumlet. And some of that pie Seonghwa-hyung baked before I left. And-”
Yunho waves your protests off cheerfully. “No worries, just trust me!”
Just trust me.
Turning back to the rigging, you suck in a breath and begin to climb. You’ve never worked around the rigging and masts like you’ve seen Yunho and Wooyoung do so often, instead staying closer to the deck like San and Seonghwa. The two are in the rigging so often, spending more time among the ropes than on deck, laughing and chatting away.
For a moment, you feel like you’re intruding on their space.
The climb upwards is a little tricky as the rope twists and flexes beneath you, but you’re determined to make it all the way to the top by yourself. Straining with the effort, you finally drag yourself feebly over the lip of the crow’s nest and flop into it, sweat dripping from you every orifice.
“That was a good first try!” Yunho cheers as his mop of brown hair appears at the railing merely seconds after you’ve crawled in. You stare at him in disbelief from below.
“I thought you said you were going to catch me if I fell!”
Yunho cocks his head at you curiously as he perches on the railing precariously, an inch or so from a bad fall back to the main deck. “I was! I only started climbing after you reached the top.”
Your jaw smashes into the ground.
Yunho gives you an easy grin, patting your head in encouragement. Really, what is with all your crew members liking to pat you on the head? You’re about to ask him why when he looks away from you, admiring the horizon with a smile.
“So, why the long face?”
At his question, you jerk a little in shock. He seems to be a lot more observational than you have given him credit for.
“I am the lookout, after all.”
You gulp.
“And yes, you said that out loud.”
“Sorry!” You squeak, but Yunho doesn’t take any offence at your words. Instead, he merely grins at you with a cheeky, boyish smile.
“How about you tell me why you had such a long face as apology, then?”
You puff out your cheeks. You feel like Yunho has just tricked you into coming up here to make you spill the beans about all of your deepest, darkest secrets, but of course you can’t tell him that you’re worried about what the fortune teller has told you. As much as you trust the members of the ship, you don’t know how they’d react if you blurted to all of them that you could hear the sea monster’s voice and that you were starting to get afraid of what the fortune teller had woven as your future.
So you try to keep things as vague as possible.
“Nothing much.” You attempt to play it off light, fiddling with the crystal at the end of your necklace as you close your eyes and lean back against the mast, trying to appear as calm as possible. “I was just thinking about my memories, you know. If I had a mother.” A dry laugh leaves your mouth as you think about the possibility of the sea witch being your mother. “Maybe I could have had parents waiting for me wherever my home is. Siblings, even.”
Yunho is silent for a while. Then he suddenly speaks up.
“Do you know what these are?” He points to the two silver rings braided into his hair. They’ve always just been there, from the very first day you’d met him down at the harbor of Raguza, so you’ve simply assumed that it is some kind of habit of his. Honestly, you haven’t given it much thought, so you shake your head.
“These are rings of victory.” Yunho says, his voice suddenly soft as he fingers the silver bands. You stare at them a little more closely. “I got one for my first victory... And the second one for my hundredth.”
There’s something delicate in the air, invisible but completely tangible. You don’t dare to raise your voice over a whisper.
“What victories?”
“Victories in the arena.” Yunho says the word ‘arena’ with so much bitterness, sadness, anguish that for a moment, you can almost feel his raw emotions washing over you like a tidal wave. “Before I joined the crew of the Treasure… I was a gladiator.”
You’re stunned into silence for a moment.
Yunho has always been so happy, so cheerful, so happy-go-lucky, a literal ray of sunshine. You can’t believe that he could have endured such torment and pain in the past.
“I see.” Is all that leaves your mouth, but there’s so much more you want to say.
“I had a brother. His name was Gunho.” Yunho looks lost in the past, fixated on a dream, far, far away. “He was nicer, kinder, gentler. Always the better one of the two of us.”
You want to argue with that, but he continues before you can say anything.
“We were both sold into slavery by our parents. All we had was each other. I remember the first time he stepped into the arena, he was so scared to the point he kept shaking in his boots. I volunteered to go in his place. That’s how I got this.”
You watch with bated breath as Yunho pulls the collar of his shirt down to reveal a long, ugly scar at his shoulder, dangerously close to where his jugular is, as San has taught you. If the blade had been a couple of inches to the left, Yunho wouldn’t be here with you right now.
And that scares you, for some reason you don’t want think about.
You don’t know what to say. Why is Yunho sharing with you all this, something so close to his heart?
“I did everything I could to keep him safe. It was silly, now that I think about it. He was always a better fighter than me.” Yunho muses to himself in silent mirth, shaking his head as he shrugs the shirt back over his shoulder. “But I was the older brother. I was supposed to take care of him.”
You don’t like where the sound of this is going.
“But he’s gone now.” Yunho’s smile is brittle, as if it might break if you so much as touch it. His voice is nothing above a wavering whisper. “Dead and gone. And I wasn’t even by his side when it happened.”
“Why?” You find yourself asking, even before you can run it by your mind. “What happened?”
Yunho closes his eyes for a moment, clearly fighting to keep his emotions at bay as they play out across his face. Then he speaks, his throat tight.
“A patron admired me for my skill and bought my freedom, but not my brother’s.” Yunho’s words are soft, but clear as water and you hang on to every word. “I joined the Treasure to earn enough to buy my brother’s freedom… but by the time I returned to my hometown, Gunho was dead.”
His voice cracks ever so slightly even though the smile never leaves his face.
“Did you know? My brother died from the same illness as Jongho’s mother did.” Yunho adds on quietly, lost in thought. A heavy, crushing feeling sinks like a stone in your chest and you feel something prick at the corner of your eyes. You blink the feeling away in surprise.
The two of you sit in silence for a moment, and you feel Yunho’s pain as if it’s your own. If you ever had family, like he had, and you’d lost them… The feeling is familiar to you, as if you’ve felt it before.
But something is different.
No… you didn’t lose him…
You left him behind.
Something bubbles in the back of your mind and your eyes fly wide with horror, you jerk upright to stare at Yunho. You try desperately to chase the thought, but when you shut your eyes, all you see is the same thing you always do.
White beach, the waves washing over your legs as you sit in the sand. Rain touching your face, storms at your feet.
Then nothing.
“Anyway, what I intended for you to hear is that there’s always a dawn, even to the darkest nights.” Yunho says quietly, his words gentle. “Even though I thought I’d lost it all when I found out about my brother’s death, I realised I gained a new family. You might have lost your memories, but at least you have us with you. You’re our family. You are someone to us.”
You are someone to us.
His hand closes around yours. You turn to look at him, eyes wet with emotion. He doesn’t face you, instead pointing at the horizon.
“Look.”
The sun is beginning to rise.
The pair of you sit in comfortable silence as the sun slowly emerges from behind the sea. The darkness of the sky flees as the rosy light chases it away, streaks of pink and orange painting the sky.
You don’t know how long you sit there till someone calls for you from below.
“Yunho-ah! Stowaway!” To your surprise, it’s Yeosang, but there’s something off about him. From up on the crow’s nest, you can see him fidgeting nervously hopping from foot to foot as he looks up at the two of you. He looks like he’s literally brimming with happiness.
“What is it, Yeosang-ah?” Yunho shouts back, your hand falling from his.
There’s a massive grin on the navigator’s face, even as he tries to fight it back.
“Captain wants to see us!”
Steve has been acting strange all day, and for the life of him Tony can’t figure out why. It starts with sex when they first wake up, which isn’t all that weird. More tender than usual, slower and sweeter than most days, but nothing that makes him question anything right away. The only slightly abnormal part is that Steve skips his run entirely for it, but it’s happened before.
Breakfast is the first real sign that something is up, when Steve breaks out all of the stops to produce french toast dusted with powdered sugar and topped with sliced strawberries. It’s quite the step up from his everyday toast and eggs, and his grin when Tony compliments his cooking is brighter than the morning sun coming in through the wall of windows.
“You didn’t have to do all this,” Tony says, dragging a piece of french toast through a puddle of maple syrup.
Steve leans over, and the kiss he plants on Tony’s cheek is slightly sticky. “You deserve something nice today.”
Tony chews his bite slowly, processing that. Nice today, implying that today is different than other days. He checks the date on his phone as inconspicuously as possible.
There’s nothing significant that strikes him about May 10th. He has a couple weeks to go until his birthday, five more days until the anniversary of their first kiss. Another eight until the anniversary of their first real date. May 10th couldn’t be less special if it tried, really.
For now Tony shrugs it off, chalks it up to just another Steve thing. Like the way he wears socks to bed, but only in December, and drinks a different flavor of tea for every day of the week.
But then it continues throughout the morning. Steve asks him to go for a walk with him in Central Park, and he seems more affectionate than usual when they’re in public. With the Captain America mantle hanging heavy on his shoulders, Steve has typically always been more reserved around others. Their relationship has never been a secret, but Tony knows for a fact that there is exactly one paparazzi photo of them kissing in existence. There are quite a few more with hand holding, maybe the occasional shot of Steve’s arm slung around his shoulder, but never more than that.
Today, Steve kisses him on the pedestrian bridge as they lean against the railing, then again when Tony gets ice cream on his lips from the cones they buy from a street vendor.
“You’re in a very good mood today,” Tony observes on their walk back to the tower.
Steve smiles, “Why shouldn’t I be? It’s a good day.”
Tony nods in agreement, though he still isn’t sure what separates today from all the rest.
At some point it stops being strange and starts giving him anxiety. Weird turns into terror-inducing, because he has to be missing something, right? Boyfriends don’t just wake up one day and decide to be extra caring for no reason at all.
He thinks about asking, but what if he really has missed something important? He can picture the look on Steve’s face when he realizes that Tony has forgotten something that clearly matters to him. The way his eyes will widen slightly, brows turning down and shoulders slumping. Then his face will close off again, turning perfectly neutral to hide the hurt and disappointment. He’ll say it’s not a big deal, but Tony will know he’s lying.
So he stays quiet through the afternoon while he works in the lab on team upgrades and Steve sits on the couch and sketches. It’s easily the most normal part of the entire day, and Tony basks in the quiet comfort of just co-existing with the person he loves.
Steve goes upstairs after a few hours, kissing Tony’s cheek and patting the bots’ metal arms as he goes. He tells Tony to be on time for dinner, and his voice is more pointed than usual, which is why Tony heads up early to be able to shower off the grease from his hands and arms.
There’s a candle burning on the table when he walks into the dining room post-shower and a vase of flowers sitting a safe distance away from the flame. Tony freezes at the sight, but hopefully Steve doesn’t notice as he comes into the room with two plates.
He smiles softly as he sets them down and pulls out Tony’s chair for him. Tony reaches for the glass of red wine the second he sits down. He’ll need it for the night ahead of him.
The dish in front of him is some type of pasta in a creamy red sauce, and after the first bite he asks, “Did you make this pasta yourself?”
Steve nods, and even in the dim lighting Tony can see the way his ears have gone pink. “I had to practice a couple of times to get it right. Luckily Clint volunteered to taste test.”
Now Tony is downright desperate to know what he’s missing, but still unwilling to ask. So he hopes he can be vague enough in his conversation to get Steve to say it.
“I don’t know how I deserve all that work, but thank you.”
Steve’s response, while sweet enough to melt Tony’s heart, doesn’t help. “You’ve done a lot for me. It’s really the least I could do for you.”
He keeps failing all throughout dinner. Every time he vaguely talks about the significance of the day, Steve answers with something that would probably make sense if Tony was on the same page as him.
It’s in the kitchen after dinner that he finally breaks.
“I can do these,” Tony says, gesturing to the sink full of dishes. “Seeing as you cooked and all.”
Steve wraps his arms around him from behind, breath ghosting over Tony’s neck as he ducks down to kiss him there.
“Or,” Steve murmurs, “we could just leave them there for tomorrow.”
“What?” Tony asks. He twists around in Steve’s hold and presses his palm to Steve’s forehead. “I didn’t think it was possible for you to get sick anymore, but you’re clearly delirious.”
Steve laughs, “I’m not delirious, and I’m not sick either. I just want to make the most of our anniversary.”
Tony’s mind goes blank. That was the one thing he was sure he could eliminate from possibilities. He frowns, “It’s not our anniversary. Our anniversary is next week. May 15th.”
Steve’s face crinkles. “No, it’s today. May 10th.”
“On May 15th, you came down to my lab after that mission in New Jersey, and you yelled at me a whole bunch about being reckless - which you were wrong about, by the way - and then you kissed me and I asked you out.”
Steve looks at him like he’s grown a second head, and his arms drop from around Tony’s waist. “On May 10th, we came home from a mission, I rightfully told you that you were being reckless, I kissed you because you told me to make you shut up, and then I told you that I was in love with you. Nothing happened on May 15th.”
“No, no, I know it was May 15th because I thought it was ironic that we got together on the two year anniversary of when you called me an asshole for the first time, and I know what day that was because I marked it on your calendar as a joke, and then you called me an asshole for the second time.”
“It’s May 10th because we had our first date on May 13th. We went to that theater, because they were showing Friday the Thirteenth, and you said that I had to see it because everyone else has.”
“JARVIS, please tell Steve that he’s wrong.”
Steve scoffs, crossing his arms over his chest, “You’re about to be really upset when your own creation betrays you by telling you I’m right.”
JARVIS cuts off Tony’s snarky reply before it can finish forming. “According to my data, the event that you both have described occurred on May 7th of last year.”
Tony and Steve exchange a look, and it’s painfully silent until JARVIS speaks again, “I can provide the recording of this event if you would like.”
Tony waves his hand through the air to dismiss the suggestion. “No, that’s okay, J. We believe you.”
Steve rubs the back of his neck sheepishly, and his face turns pink. “So I guess we missed our anniversary.”
Tony dissolves into laughter, and Steve stays serious for all of three seconds before he’s joining in. He hooks his arms around Steve’s neck, getting on his tiptoes as he pulls Steve down to meet him in the middle. Steve’s hands cover his hips completely, warm on his skin even through his t-shirt.
“Happy one year and three days?” Tony offers.
It’s one year and two days longer than he ever thought they would make it. He expected Steve to change his mind after the first day, when Tony was such a nervous wreck that Steve had to be wondering how he ever got his reputation for a playboy in the first place. And when that didn’t happen, he expected Steve to grow tired of him. To come to the same realization that every other significant other has reached throughout the years - that he isn’t worth the effort.
But here they are 368 days later, and Steve still wants him. He would call it a miracle if he believed in that kind of thing, but the reality is that against all odds, they just work together. There’s no one else he would rather be with, and he knows that Steve feels the same.
Steve smiles, “Happy one year and three days.”
Tumblr media
Moving to Korea to be with your boyfriend was one of the easiest decisions you'd ever had to make in your life, there were no two ways about it. When Jin asked you to move in your obviously said yes, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity to move in with him. You'd been dating for two years seeing each other when he wasn't busy and whenever you went to Korea to see him so moving in seemed like the perfect solution to seeing one another whenever you wanted the only problem now was finding work. You'd gotten a couple of modelling jobs lined up but none of them were agency work, where you would have a strict contract. They were all one shoot and done and never called back again, Jin had complete faith you would get something soon but you were starting to give out hope, thinking if no one hired you soon you would give up your modelling days. It wasn't as though you wanted to, but you had been modelling for years and if no one wanted you then so be it, you had enough money alone to retire early and find something new to do.
"Hmm, baby, what do I do?" You asked your pet dog in a playful tone, as though you were talking to a baby, her little tail began to wag out of control and you sighed at her rubbing her head as you realised she wasn't going to be able to give you the advice you wanted.
"All you care about is food, come on." You slowly began to sit up in the bed and she jumped down from you, sprinting over to the door to get her breakfaster. You and Jin got the little dalmatian puppy a couple of weeks ago and you'd been inseparable since, she always took it upon herself to lay on your chest, in your neck or between your legs. As long as she was close to you she didn't care where she went. As you opened the door she shot down the stairs and straight to where her food was being kept, you knew how to play you and she knew how to get the food you were going to eat instead of the dog food that she was supposed to be eating.
"Jin said I have to stop feeding you what I eat." You said as you reached the fridge and pulled out fruit for your breakfast, she stared up at you with those giant puppy dog eyes that reminded you of Jungkook.
"That's not fair." You told her as you took the tubs of fruit to the sink getting ready to wash them,
"Delilah," You whined looking at her and then over to the front door, Jin wasn't home so he wouldn't know.
"If you tell your dad I'll cry," You joked taking the strawberries and ripe cherry tomatoes out and getting ready to wash and prep them for you and Delilah to eat for breakfast.
Tumblr media
"Hi, baby and who's this walking along with you?!" Jin cooed as he caught sight of you and Delilah walking onto the set, you'd called ahead to make sure you were okay to bring her along. She was only a puppy so you didn't want to leave her alone for the afternoon, as soon as you reached Jin his arms stretched out as if he was going to hug you but he bent down to greet the dog instead and you stared off at Namjoon who was laughing.
"This isn't funny. He treats her more like a girlfriend than me." You laughed draping the lead around Jin's neck and going to greet the other boys, they were all shooting an ad for an American Ice Cream company which meant a whole day of eating ice cream and having fun on set. You'd done a shoot similar to it before and it had been one of the best days ever for you and the other models on set.
"Do you miss it?" Namjoon asked as he caught you looking around the set, you nodded slowly and he sighed wrapping his arms around your shoulders and telling you the same thing Jin told you.
"The right thing will come along soon." What all of you failed to notice was a small woman watching you closely, the way you walked, talked and held yourself while you were with the boys. She was noting everything down on a small clipboard as well as taking photos of you and sending them to her boss. It wasn't completely abnormal for people to take photos of you since you were dating Jin it was just a little strange for it to be happening on a closed set.
"I should get going, Delilah and I have a puppy play date." You wiggled your eyebrows at Jin who was now standing by your side with the small puppy in his arms, rocking her around as though she was a baby.
"Wait- Excuse me!" You half-turned to see a woman in a black pencil skirt and white blouse clutching a clipboard and sporting a Bluetooth earpiece calling you.
"Hi! Can I speak with you for a moment?" Your heart began to race as you thought you were in trouble for bringing Delilah on set,
"I called, the man on the phone said Delilah was okay to come on set as long as I-"
"No, no. It's not about the dog, can I just speak with you?" Jin gave you a nod and a push to follow her and you left him with Delilah following the small woman around the studio floor and into a small office.
"Hi, sorry! It's a little more private in here, I'm Miss Bleue's assistant Jihoo of Blue Rooms." The whole world seemed to stop spinning for a moment as she revealed her name and who she was and who she worked for, it was one of the top modelling companies in Korea for foreign models. They worked with everybody giving them opportunities in Korea that you could only dream of.
"Miss Bleue sent me to talk to you about something, we realise that you're a model from your own country and you moved to Korea for Jin, correct?" You nodded along with her and she gestured for you to sit down on the small chair in front of you so you did so.
"Miss Bleue has seen you today and she wants me to offer you a contract to work with us, it'll just be a regular contract. Shooting different shoots whenever you can. Auditioning for adverts things that you're probably already used to doing." Your brain was still trying to process everything she was saying to you, Miss Bleue had seen you? She'd been there.
"Miss Bleue was here?" The assistant shook her head and showed you some photographs of you, it was you on set acting normally,
"We like to catch models out of the blue - hence the name," She laughed awkwardly before continuing her sentence.
"We like to see how you look naturally before we try and sign you onto anything and she loves you. She's offering a two-year contract with you without seeing you first hand which is rare but she'd love to have you work with her." Again, your brain was trying to catch up with how fast the small woman was talking but you nodded along.
"I'll have to talk to Jin first but I can't see why it wouldn't be a problem." You smiled at her and she slipped you a piece of paper,
"This is a list of shoots we have this month, she hopes you'll get back to her as soon as possible." You got up from the chair and walked out of the room after thanking her.
"Jin!" You screamed rushing over to him and running into his arms so hard you almost knocked him over,
"What?" He chuckled wrapping his arms around you and giving you a kiss on the lips, it was the happiest he'd seen you in months and he loved the way your face was lighting up.
"I just got offered a contract!" You explained everything Jihoo had said to you and he smiled at you running his hand over your cheek and smiling at you.
"See, what did I tell you?"
"The right thing will come along soon." You mocked him and laughed along with him. He promised to go home with you that night and look through everything that Jihoo would be sending you and you could think it through properly together.
Tumblr media
The first shoots had been amazing, you finally felt as though you were getting back onto your grind and back into your real world.
"Jin I'll be home by lunch, I love you too." You giggled down the phone to him as the black SUV you were sitting in pulled into an underground parking lot. You had a private shoot to do and it was a closed set which meant, no phones, no photographs except for the photographer and only authorised personnel were allowed onto the set.
"Hey Jihoo, where do you want me?" You asked as you rushed up to the small assistant you'd grown quite close to over the last couple of months, she smiled as she realised it was you.
"Just in changing room 5, we have a lot of people to work with today." She groaned not giving you any kind of explanation, you knew it was a group shoot but you still had no idea what the shoot was for. You just assumed it was another aeroplane shoot like you had done a couple of weeks ago, they were always kept secretive like this as well but when you walked into the dressing room you realised you were wrong. Severely wrong. Sitting there on a hanger was a red and black lingerie set, your name around the tag. You took it down from the railing and looked at it, it was pretty and you'd done lingerie shoots before no big deal but firstly, you hadn't checked with Jin if this was okay and they said it was a group shooting.
"Five minutes people!" A deep voice yelled through a megaphone from outside your door, you stared at the lingerie before exiting the room to find Jihoo who was stressing about something over the phone.
"Jihoo, can I talk to you?"
"Why aren't you dressed?!" She snapped but then apologised for it,
"I didn't think this was...Lingerie, I can't do this." You stuttered out, you'd always been a sucker for doing something to please everyone else but you couldn't do this. Your body was for Jin's eyes only, you hadn't done a lingerie shoot since dating him and you weren't about to do one now that would end up in front of all of his friends.
"You can't? Why?" She was calm now and staring at you as she realised what you were saying,
"I can't do this shoot, not group lingerie, not any lingerie." She sighed at you and looked over at the dressing room,
"I suppose we can do it without you, but we have no car for you."
"I'll call Jin." You told her going back to the changing room to grab the bag you'd come with and head out of the building searching for Jin's name as you did so, wanting to get out of there as quickly as possible and get home to your loving boyfriend.
Tumblr media
"You had no idea?!" He yelled throwing his hands up as you walked through the front door of your shared apartment. You hadn't told him what the shoot was until you were in the car and driving home, then it was a long awkward drive filled with him trying not to yell at you while he drove.
"I didn't! It was just sprung on me." You tried to tell him but he didn't believe you,
"You just showed up for a shoot without checking what it was! What are you? Stupid!?" You knew he was just mad at you for this but you shook your head at him,
"Jin it was an accident! I had no idea they were going to make me wear some lingerie set and ask me to roll around on a bed with men! Do you really think I'd do that to you?! It was just a little miscommunication!" You questioned and he just shrugged his shoulders too annoyed with everything around him to even think rationally anymore.
"As soon as I figured out what it was I was out of there. I called you, we left and now I'm here. Jin! What does it matter? I didn't do it?" He didn't mean to come across the way he was but he was just mad about the shoot and worried about you being there with other people, other people seeing what belonged to him and what was supposed to be for his eyes only.
"I'm sorry...I just-"
"I know." You whispered knowing what he was going to say before he even had the chance to say it, he sat on the arm of the sofa rubbing his temples and you walked over to him, standing between his legs. He looked up at you and wrapped his arms around your waist as he leant his head on your chest,
"I'm sorry for yelling," He mumbled against your clothes,
"I'm sorry for not checking the shoot." You mumbled as you bent down to kiss the top of his head,
"I promise I won't do anything like that, as soon as I saw it I freaked...I don't want anyone but you seeing me in something like that." He smirked up at you,
"What was it?" You smirked back down at him going into explicit detail about what the lingerie looked like and felt like while he tried to think of somewhere he could buy something similar for you.
on the fourth-floor balcony [draco malfoy]
Pairing; Draco x Reader
Genre; FLUFF, it’s literally just fluff
Word Count; 1.48k+
A/n: Another inspired fic from the moon, but this time it’s just a massive amount of sugary fluff so i hope you enjoy!! i’m officially done with school!! hope everyone’s doing okay and stay safe!!
Tumblr media
Your eyes wandered all around the view as you stared out into the glorious horizon of the night, from the fourth-floor balcony. Truthfully, you would’ve much preferred the view from the Astronomy Tower, however, tonight it seemed someone had barricaded the front entrance and the stairway, dwindling your mood until the idea sparked into your mind.
The fourth-floor balcony was famous for the group of Hogwarts couples that hang out daily, basking in the sunlight whenever they could… the thought alone made you gag, but you couldn’t deny that the view was spectacular.
The sky tonight seemed to be presented on a black canvas, swirls of purple and blue painted masterfully in precise, intricate strokes. The moon had even decided to come to the show, bright and full with its craters on display. The trees swayed gently as a breeze swept by, a shiver blissfully running down your spine, as you edged closer, your feet dangling off.
You peered over your legs and stared at the statues, along with the bushes neatly trimmed and placed, if you weren’t guaranteed to die you would’ve loved the feeling of jumping off. To know the rush before landing, but of course, it wouldn’t have been safely, so the thought was instantly diminished.
The world seemed to get lovelier, the higher you gazed from. Some day, you wanted to know what it would feel like to stand from the top of a mountain, the top of a massive building, staring at the world below. You’d probably never do it, for fear managed to stop you a few times when the thought came by. Still, it was an adventure that seemed to be fully engaging and promised much more.
You wished you could see it all. The world, everywhere.
“Bloody hell, don’t tell me you’re going to jump, are you? Or you know, fall!?” Someone screamed suddenly, startling you as you whipped your head towards their direction. Another gust came by as you stared at the figure in front of you, a smile on your face.
“Of course I wouldn’t jump, Draco. I always joked I wanted to go out with a bang, but not like that.” You reasoned, giving him the weirdest look as a laughed coursed through your body. “What’s a guy like you doing out so late? Don’t tell me you were going to bring some girl here, were you? Because unfortunately for you, I’m not going to leave.” You finished, making it Draco’s turn to let out a breathy laugh.
“Don’t worry, I came alone. I just wanted to enjoy the view, that’s all. I wouldn’t be here, but the Astronomy Towers--”
“Yeah, I know. I would’ve been there too.”
You’ve run into Draco a couple of times during your years together, there wasn’t any heavy tension between the two of you, though. It just seemed to be pleasantly carefree, whenever the two of you miraculously bumped into each other, it was just calming.
There was never a dull moment when the two of you spent time together. Laughter, jokes, a few stumbling encounters even, in the beginning, it was abnormal how easy it was to open up to one another; or how just being with the other helped, silently watching the stars.
It’d only happen a couple of times, but every time it happened it just lulled the both of you.
“Why don’t you sit?” You offered, patting to the spot next to you, grinning. Draco’s eyes widened as his face flushed pink, hands in front of him as he waved them frantically.
“I can’t possibly, I might… you know… fall,” Draco muttered, making you giggle uncontrollably as you remembered the times Draco had tripped over air as he greeted you.
“Stop it! It’s not funny! And don’t laugh, or else you’ll fall!”
“Oh how cute, Draco cares about me.” You noted, pointing at him as you winked. Seeing him about you retort, you quickly removed your gaze from him and glanced back at the sky, swaying your feet even more.
“It’s sweet, Draco. It shows you care,” Your smile grew wider, knowing that he was probably just gawking at you. “And I appreciate that you care, Draco. Because I do too.” You turned back to him, “Sorry if that sounds like a confession.”
Truth be told, you did like Draco. Deep-down you knew. That was the reason why it was so much easier to open up to him, to trust someone, and notice their qualities. Both good and bad. Yes, it hurt a bit. To know that he probably liked someone else, was interested in someone else, and that was fine, really. Right now, at this point in time, your feelings of wanting something more could be put aside, because more than anything you just needed him to be there.
“It… It’s fine,” Draco stuttered again, ruffling his hair as his eyes slowly wandered to you.
He watched as you smiled gently at him, your eyes dazzling, the reflection of all the galaxies in the universe twinkling breathtakingly. Your hair swaying along with the wind, face upward towards the sky once more.
Honestly, you took his breath away.
Everything you did seemed to be majestic. And it was so odd, to think about. Considering the fact that all of your conversations were in the dead of night, under the stars about the most randomest of topics. Most would think of his crush as absurd, but it was just there. He couldn’t take his mind off of you, he stumbled over his words constantly when he was near, and his feet.
His eyes were constantly locked onto your figure during class, observant when it came to the little quirks you had, surveying you in the Great Hall as well.
He’d only tear his eyes away when Blaise of Pansy had questioned him, wondering what exactly had gotten him to be so spaced out. To cause his attention to be so diverted onto one thing, consistently.
“I wouldn’t have minded if it was a confession, though…” he muttered to himself, causing your head to quickly spin.
“Sorry, what did you say?” you pressed quickly, seeing Draco’s face flush even brighter than before, scrambling over his words for an answer.
“I didn’t mean it-- I mean, I don’t think you heard correctly-- maybe, it’s--”
“Okay, Draco. Don’t pass out on me, your face is red. I was just wondering if you said something, is all.” You informed him softly, watching as his face slowly became less panicked, and his face toned-down a color or two. He brought himself closer to you, his feet scraping against the ground as if he was the heaviest object in the world at the moment.
He held onto the pillar tightly as he swiftly flew on leg over the rock railing, sharply inhaling as he did so. He planted his other foot firmly on the ground before his hands came up to support him by clenching the rails, staring at you.
“I’m not as insane as you to let myself completely hang off the verge, but enough to do partly while safe.”
“If you’re afraid of heights or dying you could always lean against the pillar beside me, you know,” you told him scooching closer to help him. “You didn’t have to sit down with me.”
“Oh shut up, would you? I did it, all right? Doesn’t that matter?” Draco defended himself, no longer holding on to the railing but fiercely staring into your eyes, his breath hitching as his mind registered how close you were to him.
“Of course it does, Draco. Thank you and as a token of my gratitude--”
Draco cut you off as he dove forward, his lips crashing onto yours, innocent and gentle. His head started spinning, his stomach doing flips as you melted. He firmly grabbed her and the rail, terrified that he’d fall off any second from feeling this light and weak. As they parted, his eyes glowed as he nervously laughed.
“Sorry, I--”
You pulled him back in, smiling as he immediately responded, this time taking the courage to firmly kiss you, cheekily nibbling your bottom lip in the process. Pulling away, you gave him the biggest, brightest smile he’s ever seen.
“Will you go out with me? I know it’s a bit late to ask but--” he laughed before you quickly pecked his forehead, stopping his ramble.
“Yes, Draco. I’d love to, now let’s get off the rail before we fall off.” He reacted in no time, already off and offering you a hand to help yourself. When he knew you were all right, his hands wrapped around you, slowly making their way down to rest around your waist as he brought you closer, laughing a bit.
Leaning down, he kissed your lips again as he rocked gently, you following his lead, under the moonlight, on the fourth-floored balcony.
30 Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics Describe their Most Disturbing Medical Stories
1. The Guessing Game
“I work as an ICU nurse. A mid-20s female came in with some serious cardiac abnormalities and then went into respiratory distress. Never had any medical history at all. We had to put her on the ventilator, but she was on just enough sedation to keep her lucid. She could nod/shake her head yes and no appropriately to questions.
One night, the patient in the room next to hers died, but the body was still in the room about to be taken to the morgue. The female patient’s door was closed with curtains drawn, so she couldn’t have seen what was going on next door. When I went in to check on her, she had a look of sheer panic on her face, trembling. I asked her a series of questions to see if she was cold/hot/in pain/etc. and she denied all. I asked her if she saw something—she started to aggressively nod her head YES. She wasn’t on any drugs that would make her hallucinate. I went on to get details on what this thing looked like. After playing 20 questions I got this: a man, pale white, left arm missing, heavy, bald, standing still, behind me. This was the man who had just died next door.
I spent the rest of the night consoling her.” – whites42
2. Life After Death
“When I was on an ER rotation during med school we got a call about a 23-year-old woman who was shot in the head, and who was already completely gone, but was reportedly five months pregnant so they were doing CPR until they got her to the hospital to see if the baby was viable. They got her to the ER and did an ultrasound and turned out the baby was full-term so they did a C-section in like under a minute and got the baby out.
I don’t think it’s so incredibly uncommon but it was pretty surreal to see a baby delivered from a dead person with their brain exposed and she was pretty close to the same age I was at the time.” – bluegraypurple
3. The Last Goodbye
“When I was a student, I got called in on a stroke patient. She had coded and they were doing CPR. They worked for 45 minutes, but she died. They cleaned her up, and called on the family to say goodbye, but by that time the family left. She had been both brain dead and without a pulse for more than 45 minutes. Blood had filled her brain, and she was completely grey and started to smell. Suddenly, she sat up, and called for her family. The nurses rushed to get monitors and equipment back on her. They started working on her again, she stabilized, said goodbye to her family, and promptly died a second time.” – simplesimon6262
4. Miracle Man
“When I was in trauma surgery in upstate by, got a notification about a man who was shot 3 times in the head. He comes in, literally one eye hanging out of the socket, blood everywhere, and he’s slumped forward. Apparently, he was shot in the temple, exited out his right eye socket, in the nose exited from the roof of the mouth, and In the cheek one with exit from the side of the head.
At this point, I’m thinking they just brought him in so we can pronounce him in the ER because he looked dead. I go to examine him and tilt his head back, and he says ‘Yoooo be gentle!’ I jump back and scream like a little boy, as did everyone in the room. Literally, the bullets missed his brain in every single shot.” – Noimnotonacid
5. Bleeding
“One of the aides I work with said she was doing postmortem care on a patient who had been on many, many anticoagulants before death. She said when they turned her on her side she started bleeding out of every orifice—eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. She said her and the nurse went home and had nightmares for a week.” – sparklingbluelight
6. The Haunted Hospital
“My town has two really old hospitals. One no longer functions overnight, and the stories are unsettling. No one cleans the old ER alone because all the lights and call bells go off. On other floors, there’s a kid with his ball, a lady in a white dress, etc. A coworker was cleaning an entire floor utterly solo (the norm) and bounced between rooms because the cleaning solution stays wet for a few minutes. Upon returning to a freshly wiped bed, hand prints were clearly visible.” – Sapphire_Starr
7. Eyeless
“I used to do home care for an elderly lady with learning disabilities and no eyes (they were removed due to a congenital condition). She was lovely but prone to wandering around her flat at night in total silence, which led to several horrifying situations where I left my room at 2 am only to encounter her standing silently in the hallway, turning her eyeless face towards me.” – NovelistResearcher
8. Lonely
“One call that will always haunt me was on an unresponsive female at around three in the morning. We get there and do some pointless CPR along with the fire department… She had been dead for a while; no shock-able rhythm, and clear rigor mortis. The most disturbing part was that the original caller was her 11-year-old daughter, who had just spent three days with her mother’s corpse and called 9-1-1 because she was ‘lonely’. It also didn’t help that the victim was completely naked when we arrived.” – CupofJoe776
9. Clear Waters
“I have quite a few stories, most of them are hilarious and then there are those you never want to think about. What fucked me up the most was when I saw how eyes change at the moment of death. Imagine you are looking at clear water but that clear water changes to foggy in an instant. In my 8 years here I’ve only seen this once, and I’ve personally seen well over 250 dead or dying people.” – ImCuden
10. Night Lights
“I work nights in a long-term care facility as a nurse’s assistant. I have two men under my care and both of them are unable to use their call lights. They have severe dementia and debilitating Parkinson’s disease but still, their lights are looped around their bed rail. One night their light came on and I went to answer it already confused and creeped out. I turned it off and left the room. Before I could get two doors up the light came back on. I went in there and both lights were unplugged from the wall and thrown under their beds. I fished them out, plugged them back in and left.
I’ve seen shadows standing over the dying and felt a tap on my shoulder while doing chest compression’s so I knew that lady had passed.” – beeoakly
11. Holding Hands
“I’ve had a couple of weird calls. One was a major MVA-head on many, many years ago when we played M.E. as well. We had 2 DOA (husband and spouse) that were killed instantly in a head-on collision. They had a 12-year-old daughter that was in between them and they actually took the impact, saving her life.
While en route, we noticed the husband’s arm had come loose so I went back to re-strap it. As I was doing that, the wife’s arm suddenly fell out as well, and her hand fell into her husband’s. My boss was watching in the rearview mirror and helped clear the way as I ran back into the front. It spooked both of us. Apparently, the couple (mid 30’s), had just found out he was cancer free after his last treatment.” – Anonymous
12. Last Meal
“I had an old lady come in by ambulance, near death. She was a DNR (do-not-resuscitate), so we weren’t going to do much for her. She didn’t have any family that we could find. The hospital was full, so we had to keep her in the ER for the night.
Again, she was near death. When you’ve seen enough people die, there’s no mistaking it, and she was almost there. Barely responsive; pale, cool, breaths were really irregular, heart rate was up and down, too. We just turned the lights down and kept an eye on her monitor, basically waiting for her to die.
About an hour later, she’s standing at the door of her room. She’d gotten up and put on all her clothes. We were all like, ‘WTF?’ One of the nurses went to check on her, and she said she was hungry. Not knowing really what to make of things, we got her a chair, a bedside table, and went to the cafeteria and got her a tray of food.
She sat there, ate all her food, talked with the staff a little. After about an hour, she told her nurse that she was tired and wanted to lie back down. We helped her back into bed, and within 30 minutes she was dead.” – Anonymous
13. “Don’t Let me go Back there”
“When my mom worked as an E.R. nurse a guy came in from a car accident and was losing blood. In the midst of resuscitation, the man jolts awake and screams ‘Don’t let me go back there! Please, please, please don’t let me go back!’ A few seconds later they lost him.” – JeremyHowell
14. The Rusty Old Saw
“This woman was clearly struggling mentally. She went into her basement and started sawing at her wrists horizontally with a rusty hacksaw, bleeds a good amount, and then starts walking around the house. She wasn’t dying quick enough, so she sat down in a chair in the middle of the living room, and started going at her wrists again, this time with a pair of scissors.
I was the second person inside the house. It looked like a massacre. We searched the house top to bottom, fully expecting to find multiple dead bodies in there. I’ve never seen so much blood in my life. Every single room had a trail of blood in it.
The woman was found on a chair in the living room. Rigor mortis had contorted her body into a really strange, unnatural pose, and her face was haunting. Literally the stuff of nightmares. Her wrists had huge chunks of skin/veins/muscle missing from them. Saying she slit her wrists is inaccurate. She ripped them to pieces.” – anoncop1
15. Visitors
“I work a stroke/telemetry floor on the bought shift. Most of our patients are elderly. Apparently, there are two things that patients see before they pass away. Some will say that two men are walking in their rooms and telling them to get ready to leave. The patient will call and tell us that these men are big and abrasive in their demeanor. They are either terrified or annoyed when they see the two men. The other thing they will see is a little boy who will go into their rooms and try to wake them up. The boy is usually loud and runs around their rooms. The patients will call and ask who’s letting children just run around late night. Several nights or even that same shift we’re coding or cleaning the patient for the funeral home to pick up.” – pokfynder
16. The Handsome Man in Black
“I used to work in a skilled nursing facility, usually assigned to the Alzheimer’s ward. One night I’m in the linen room stocking my cart, and I heard someone shuffle up behind me, then I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and there was no one else in the room. The door was still shut too.
Another lady started to complain that a man was coming into her room at night (again, Alzheimer’s so I didn’t think much of it) so to reassure her, I told her I’d check on her throughout the night. She complained of this man for every night for two more weeks when I asked her to describe him to me.
‘He’s real handsome, and wears a black suit. Oh. He’s right behind you now, honey.’
That freaked me the f*ck out. Of course, there was no one behind me. She died the next night in her sleep.” – Anonymous
17. The Blender
“We got a call for a male in his early 30s with ‘heavy groin trauma’ (exact words of the dispatcher). We roll up lights and sirens and the guy is waiting for us on the front step with a towel over his crotch. We barely come to a stop and the guy is already running towards the rig holding this towel. I asked him what was wrong and he moved the towel and this guy’s dick was just barely hanging on. Apparently, he had ‘lady problems’ so he decided to fornicate with the food mixer he had in his kitchen and accidentally turned it on.” – YayShinny
18. The Charred Skin
“Motorcycle driver, accident, third-degree burns, arrived DOA. Had to transfer him from ambulance gurney to ER bed. As we were moving him with a transfer sheet, the liquefied/cooked subcutaneous fat caused the charred skin on his back to separate and his body slipped onto the floor (despite several of us trying to ‘catch’ him).” – Doc-in-a-box
19. Dead Man Moaning
“Worked security through college at a local hospital. The only ‘creepy’ thing I remember is when a dead man moaned. One of my duties was to help wheel patients who had expired down to the in-house morgue. Once we were wheeling an older man from the ER down and halfway down the hallway he let out this low moan. I started to panic, thinking that he was coming back to life but the RN explained to me (newbie) that sometimes the air in the lungs doesn’t come out until sometime later or is delayed for a bit.” – ill_do_it-later
20. Otherworldly Screams
“I have had fellow coworkers swear that strange things have occurred in the ER. Two people that I work with were charting at the nurse’s station when they both heard a scream followed by incoherent words come from one of our open bays. There were three patients in the room and they denied screaming or hearing anything. I have also had fellow coworkers talk about hearing strange voices especially after really bad codes and one person states she felt someone grabbing her shoulder after the doc pronounced a trauma code. These are all respectable people and I do not think they would lie.” – Anonymous
21. Blank Stare
“We got a call to go out to a scene for an elderly woman with chest pains. I arrive at the house, front door is open. We knock, hear the old woman calling out from the back ‘I’m in the back room’ in a very monotone and calm voice. My partner and I go to the back of the house looking for this woman, and that’s when we smelled it. Nothing prepares you for the smell of rotting corpse. I’ve smelled it a dozen times, and it never gets any less disturbing. We radio for police and ALS backup as we move through the house.
We opened the door to the master bedroom, and there is our patient. She is approximately 80, and she is staring at the master bathroom with these cold, dead eyes. She never once looked at us as we approached her and began talking to her. I got to the bedside and got in front of her gaze, and she just looked right through me. I turned around to see what she could possibly be looking at, and there was the source of my smell.
A man, about the same age as my patient, is on the floor with very little left of his head still attached to his body. A shotgun lay on the floor next to him, and most of his head was strewn about the walls and bathroom counter. We loaded the woman up in the ambulance, and our police backup pulled up.
I don’t think that woman blinked once the entire time she was in our care.” – TheFilthiest
22. “Bill’s Here”
“I’m an RN and while I was a student I was caring for a lady who had an end-stage renal failure, had a DNAR (do not attempt resuscitation) and was shutting down. We were having a little chat when she stopped, looked over my shoulder and said ‘Bill’s here love, I’ve got to go,’ and swiftly stopped breathing. Read her old notes and Bill was her deceased husband.” – Jesspandapants
23. The Body on the Floor
“The call was for an older woman, lying in bed. When we get there, the smell is horrendous of a dead body. There are millions of flies everywhere and a little old lady in lying in the bed, alive. About five feet away, there is a body covered up by a sheet. The lady was a dementia patient, and her husband (the deceased) was the primary caregiver. Based on the number of flies and state of decomposition, the police estimated the guy had been dead for about three weeks. The woman must have been getting some food out of the refrigerator, but it was totally empty by the time we arrived.
The creepiest part happened on the way to the hospital with the woman, she said, ‘I hope that nice man on the floor is OK’.” – Tools4toys
24. The Fallen Cross
“I responded to a call where a janitor was dusting quite a large stone cross in the middle of a church. He had been up on a ladder cleaning, when he slipped off, and proceeded to try to hold onto the cross to keep from falling. Unfortunately, the weight of the 200-pound man was too much to support. The cross fell towards him, landing on his left arm, with a part of the horizontal stone of the cross, pushing his muscles and tendons out of his wrist like a squeezed toothpaste tube. Then the cross fell completely on him splattering his brain across the floor. Quite disturbing, and definitely the most horrific and gore filled call I had ever witnessed.” – UpboatOarKnotUpboat
25. The Headless Nurse
“I used to work in St Barts Hospital in London, which in parts is over 1,000 years old. One of the buildings had 2 floors (with massively high ceilings), and so the floors were taken out and rearranged to make into 5 floors. The nurses working night shift would often tell us of the ghost of a night nurse who wandered silently doing her ’rounds’ at night—but due to the new floors, only her head would be visible drifting down the ward.” – jenthejedi
26. Monsters
“I was still a nursing student at the time, but this was from when I had my psychiatric clinical placement in my 3rd year.
I was assigned to a young male patient with schizophrenia. He had been a voluntary admission because he heard voices telling him to hurt people around him, and he admitted himself because he was afraid of actually going through with it.
Anyway, I went into the room alone, as usual, and did the usual introduction and asking how he was doing. He was at a desk drawing creepy, hideous monsters—each monster had its own page, and there had to be at least half a dozen of these pages scattered around him. I asked him what they were. He answered that those were the monsters he saw. They were the monsters that whispered to him and told him to hurt people and do awful things. Guarded, I asked him, ‘Are they telling you to hurt me?’
He answered, ‘Yes.’
I didn’t stay very long in that room.” – duckface08
27. The Man in Black
“People turn batshit crazy and creepy as hell when they get really sick. There’s even a term called ICU psychosis…and trust me, it’s real. Anyway, the creepiest that takes the cake for me is this (am an ICU nurse, btw): Had a patient who was admitted for overdose. Very long history of mental health problems. She was thrashing around in bed, very combative, kicking people’s asses for days, totally incoherent.
Well, the night I had her, she started making decent sense, but still not oriented at all. She was extremely paranoid and kept talking about the man in black in the corner. I’d hear her talking to him and screaming, all night long. So I’d go in there and try to calm her down, but you could see the fear in her eyes. she was talking other nonsense about how she was in space and shit, and with certain patients, you try to redirect their ‘reality,’ but what I did didn’t help. She said ‘that man in black! Don’t you see him!’ and pointed to the corner. I said ‘there’s nobody here.’ I stepped in the corner she was pointing to and waved my hands around. While I’m waving my hands around in the air, she had the most horrifically terrified look on her face that actually scared the shit out of me, like I had just assaulted the man in black. I said ‘see, there’s nobody here’ and she said in a matter-of-factly that’s what you think.’ I promptly got the fu*k out of there.” – HeatherTakasaki
28. Eyes Wide Open
“I work in palliative. Most deaths I’ve seen have been more or less peaceful, though the ones that are not, stick with you. One guy was silently screaming through his last few hours of life. Another guy (who up until this point had been unresponsive) reached up and grabbed me when we attempted to lower his bed to turn him.
One time while doing post-mortem care I walked into the room and thought ‘that’s weird, how come nobody has closed his eyes yet?’ He had that movie-perfect dead look, with pale blue staring eyes and slack jaw and greyish, waxy skin. I closed his eyes and started the care, and when I looked again those eyes, still staring at me, were slowly opening, one slightly slower than the other. He groaned when we turned him to wash his back and his hand managed to clamp onto the bed rail and we had to pry it off. When we finally got him onto his back again, there was a foul-smelling, oily black, viscous liquid on the pillowcase. I cleaned his mouth again thinking it must have come from there, but his mouth and nose were clean. The best I could figure the stuff had come from his eye. I couldn’t wait to get that bag zipped up.” – draakons_pryde
29. Crawling up the Hallway
“I used to work as an STNA in a nursing home. Worked third shift throughout university. During the night we turned half the lights off so it was darker for the evening and didn’t get a lot of light in the residents’ rooms. We had one resident who was younger (70s) and was mostly in for mental reasons. She had long, dark hair and was very thin.
I was sitting at the nurse’s station at the top of the hall and heard a call light go off. I stood up, looked down the dark hall, and on all fours—straight out of The Ring—this resident was crawling up the hall toward me. The other STNA had forgotten to put the bed rail up and the resident was VERY good at climbing out of bed.
Needless to say, I needed some new britches and my heart was racing a mile a minute.” – blameitonthewookie
30. Heaven
“Had a young woman in full liver failure. She was orange in color and she was still conscious. She asked me what I thought it would be like to die. I told her I didn’t know but I hoped it wouldn’t be painful. She then asked me if I thought I would go to heaven. I told her that I believed I would. She asked me if I thought she would go to heaven, and I told her I wasn’t able to answer that question.
She then told me ‘I am going to heaven and I know it,’ and I asked her how she knew that and she told me something that I will never ever forget. She told me ‘I know I am because that man over there told me so.’ I asked what man and she said the man sitting on the end of the bench. I asked her what he looked like and she said ‘he looks just like the Jesus on the windows of my church.’
Well, to tell you I was pretty well affected by that statement. She then went on to say ‘And he says that you are going to go to heaven too.’
We then prayed and I will never forget that interaction between the two of us. About a week later she passed away. I hope she made it to heaven.” – Anonymous
It was strange to be in the presidential suite without Keanu, but definitely something you could get used to. You took your time in a long bath, using the deliciously scented bath products from the hotel that you were very familiar with, despite never using them yourself.
You stepped out once the water turned tepid, your skin feeling silky soft and smelling amazing as you wrapped your body on one of the fluffy white robes, a towel holding your hair on top of your head. You scanned the menu for room service, your stomach rumbling. It was late and your last meal had been lunch.
Picking up the phone, you paused in hesitation. Everyone in the reception desk knew you. They would recognize your voice at the same second. How were you gonna explain this? You set the phone down again, choosing instead to order your favorite burger and milkshake from the diner a couple of streets over. They frequently delivered to the hotel guests and employees so no one would bat an eye to see them there.
You grabbed your laptop and books, bringing it to the bed with you because you had an essay for your abnormal psychology class to deliver next week and you hadn’t had time to start. Between work and all the other courses, you had been feeling overwhelmed and stressed and every time you tried to sit down to write, it was like your brain would just shut down and refuse to form any coherent thought.
Tonight, it was the first time in a while you felt completely relaxed and as you pulled out your reference notes, the text flowed easily, the essay practically writing itself as you swayed to The Weeknd playing on your earbuds.
You finished the first draft in record time, saving it on your college folder with a smile. So, this was how studying felt like when you had plenty of time and no distractions? It was amazing and the idea of not only having an apartment of your own but not to worry about long work hours and crushing debt was starting to sound even more appealing.
Pulling up a few real-estate websites, you started to browse apartments you liked which were around St. Joseph’s College, but after another moment’s consideration, decided to look for places closer to Columbia University, where you were planning to attend for Law School.
At first, you searched for an apartment with two beds two baths just like you first envisioned, but the prices terrified you. Why was everything in New York so fucking expensive? You could never ask Keanu to spend so much on you, a woman he barely knew. Then again, what would be the right price under those circumstances?
With a sigh, you got up, putting your clothes back on and moving to the balcony to watch the Manhattan lights. What were you thinking by getting in such a weird, messed up situation? You could already foresee that every single step of this would be riddled with uncertainty and self-doubt and you already hated.
You were usually so sure about your own choices. You had been sure that you needed to move away for college and even though you hated leaving your mom and brother behind, you knew it would be the only way to ease the weight of responsibility on your mother. If you stayed, she would insist you dedicated exclusively to school and she would kill herself working two, three jobs to keep your family finances afloat.
From a distance, with only phone calls twice a week, it was easier to pretend you weren’t struggling. It was easier to pretend that you were having the life she always dreamt of for you. The life Keanu was offering you right now.
And when you accepted his proposal, you had been sure too. Thinking about your future and the fact that even though you barely knew him, Keanu made you feel like no other man or boy ever managed.
It wasn’t a coincidence that, even though you knew next to nothing about him, he had been your first. You knew he was the kind of man you wanted, and you didn’t regret your decision. You were just doubting if this was the right way to go about things.
A pair of strong arms wrapped around your waist, making you start and giggle, especially when he pressed his cold nose against your neck.
“I could hear you overthinking things as soon as I stepped inside the suite,” Keanu commented, tugging you closer to his body, surrounding you with his heat and you rested against his chest, relaxing in an instant. How was this possible? “If you changed your mind…”
“No,” you sighed, turning in his embrace, your arms coming around his neck, fingers combing through the soft hairs in his nape. “I just…”
“Unsure if it’s the right thing for you?” he asked, and you chuckled because you hated and loved how he could just read your mind.
“Maybe,” you replied as Keanu rested his forehead against yours, letting out his own sigh. “I mostly wondering why you’re doing this.” He pulled back long enough to give you a look, his eyebrow arched in question and you felt heat rising to your cheeks. “I mean, you’re a handsome guy. Smart, educated, very good at…”
“Sex?” he offered with a smirk and you chuckled.
“Well, yes, but that wasn’t really what I was gonna say.” Even if you were thinking it. “My point is, you literally could just ask me or any other woman out and they most likely say yes.”
“Truth is, I’m selfish,” Keanu said with a shrug, his hands trailing softly down your back, rough fingers under your shirt, making goosebumps rise on your skin. “I have very little free time and when I do and I want to spend it with someone, I want their undivided attention. Bills and unfulfilling jobs tend to take their focus away.”
“So, you’ve done this before?” you asked carefully because you’ve been dying to know.
“Does it matter?” he asked, pulling away from you and there was a tension in his shoulders that you hadn’t seen before.
“Yes,” you replied a little more firmly because you needed to know. You needed to know what kind of future could be waiting for you.
“Twice,” Keanu finally replied, stepping closer to the railing and lighting up a cigarette. “First time, she ended it. It wasn’t what she wanted in the long run. She’s married now. With a kid.”
“And the second time?” you prodded, trying to be gentle.
“She wanted more than I could give so I had to end things. For her own good and mine.”
You could tell there was more to it but decided to leave it alone, your curiosity sated for now. Instead, you fitted yourself between his body and the railing, making Keanu smile as he looked at you. His gaze held you with its intensity and you wanted to hide, but also to expose your entire self to him because it made you feel like the only person on Earth and it was such a strange but thrilling feeling.
“It never felt like this, though,” he whispered, leaning closer, filling your nose with the smell of smoke and expensive cologne. “I don’t think I’ve ever wanted someone the way I want you.”
“I want you too,” you assured, arms returning to his neck.
Your mouth found his and for a moment you got lost in the taste of him. Just the touch of his lips upon yours was enough to make your knees feel weak and arousal pool between your legs.
“You should eat first,” Keanu said with a soft smile. “Your burger is getting cold and your milkshake is melting.” You followed him back to the bedroom, surprised to see the takeout bag on top of a bedside table. “The delivery guy was at the reception desk when I got in, so I just brought it with me.”
“Thanks.” You grinned, your belly growling at the smell of the greasy food.
“Where are you going?” Keanu asked when you took a step to the sitting room.
“I’m not gonna eat in bed,” you replied with a snort. You knew how much of a pain in the ass it was to clean up those sheets from grease stains.
Instead, you brought everything to the small dining table in the sitting room, mouth watering as you unpacked your food. You were halfway into your burger when Keanu came in, your laptop in hands.
“Looking for apartments?” he asked, sitting next to you. “Let me see?”
“Sure. Third tab is my favorite so far,” you said licking the excess of ketchup from your fingers before you popped a fry in your mouth and tilted your head to see the screen too.
“It’s a shoebox,” Keanu complained with a displeased noise, moving to the next tab and then the following one and the one after that. “They’re all shoeboxes.”
“I don’t need much,” you shrugged and watched as he altered the search parameters, his brown eyes scanning the options, his forehead slightly creased in concentration. “Fry?”
“I already had dinner,” he said, clicking in one of the adds.
“Ok, but this is French fries,” you pointed out, waving it in front of his gaze. “The best in town.” He chuckled, before snatching it from your fingers with his lips.
“I like this,” he said and the first thing you noticed was the price that nearly made you choke on the mouthful of milkshake. “Don’t worry about prices,” Keanu assured with a smile. “Just tell me if you liked it.”
“Well, obviously,” you sighed, glancing back at the pictures and the wide window panels. “But seriously, Keanu, I’d good with a studio or…” You trailed off when you saw him pull out the real-estate agent information, take out his phone. “It’s almost eleven p.m. Keanu, you can’t just…”
He shushed you, a smirk on his face as he pressed the phone to his ear with one hand, the other traveling up your thigh, making you shiver.
“This is Keanu Reeves.”
His hand moving higher as he spoke to the woman on the other side. You tried to still his wandering fingers when they reached between your legs, but Keanu just gave you a wicked smile, his voice not wavering even the slightly as he started teasing you. You brought a hand to your mouth, trying to muffle your noises as you rocked against his fingers.
You got lost in the sensations, in his teasing and you didn’t even realize he ended his call. Not until Keanu pulled your hand away from your mouth, meeting your lips for a sweet kiss.
“We have an appointment tomorrow at noon. Can you make it?”
“Yeah,” you assured, moving to his lap. “Now, are you gonna fuck me again, sir?”
“Yes,” Keanu replied, smirking. This time when he stood up with you in his arms, you barely made a sound. “Until you can’t sit straight without feeling and remembering me.”
----
You tried your best to focus on what the professor was droning on about, but it was hard when every time you shifted in your chair, you could feel the throb in your center, not exactly painful, but definitely making sure you didn’t forget the pounding you got last night and you had to hide your satisfied grin behind a sip of your water so not to drag attention to yourself.
You never thought sex could be quite like that. Sure, Keanu was your first real experience, everything else just awkward fumbling, but even in your inexperience, you could tell that wasn’t just good. It was unbelievably amazing.
Feeling your phone vibrating in your pocket, you reached for it and the sight of Keanu’s name on the screen made your heart speed up. It was just a text message; sending you the address for the apartment complex you’d be visiting and asking if you wanted him to send a car for you. You had no idea why you were acting like this.
With a quick reply, you assured you’d be there and that you could take the subway before you tried to get your attention back to the lecture. This was one of the toughest classes in your course, you knew only 5 percent of the class would get grades higher than B and you planned to be in that percentage.
Once the class was finally over, you put your things away and checked the time to make sure you could pop in your dorm to drop your stuff and change before you met Keanu. You wanted to look nice and maybe a little more… mature? Maybe it was silly of you, but you wanted to make sure to cause a good impression and jeans and a ratty tee wasn’t the ideal way.
So, you exchanged them for one of your favorite sweater dresses, cream-colored and tied around your waist with a ribbon. You always felt the shape complimented your curves, as well as the tone, made the earthy hue of your skin pop up.
           “You look hot,” your roommate commented, making you grin. She was hardly your favorite person sometimes, but she did have an amazing taste. “Meeting the boyfriend?”
“Never said I had a boyfriend,” you pointed out as you put on your boots.
“The hickeys told the tale,” she smirked, nodding that the bruise peeking from under the hem of your dress and you blushed, tugging it down. “No shame. Maybe he can get that stick from up your ass.” She called out from over her shoulder as she moved away, taking your charger without asking once again.
“Soon,” you whispered to your mirror self, before picking up your bag and heading out, fidgeting the entire way to Morningside Heights, the neighborhood a distant cry from your own and you felt slightly out of place as you approached the elegant building.
Keanu was waiting for you at the foyer, once again in a suit, this time all black, his hair neatly combed and you couldn’t help the way your breath caught in your throat at the sight of him, especially with the way he smiled when he spotted you, his gaze traveling appreciatively down your body before he met your eyes again.
“Sorry I’m late,” you said, letting Keanu pull you closer, his arm wrapping around your waist.
“You’re just in time, sweetheart,” he replied, his eyes never leaving you. “We’re ready, Gwen.”
For the first time, you noticed the woman in a crisp pantsuit, her hair pinned back in a neat bun, a fake smile plastered in her face as she looked at you and at the way Keanu was holding you close, his large hand pressed against your hip, warm and possessive.
You matched her smile, daring her to say a word, knowing that she wouldn’t, not in front of Keanu anyway.
This was something you would have to get used to it. The judgmental looks whenever you were anywhere near Keanu. He seemed oblivious to it, but you could just feel eyes following the pair of you as Gwen led the way to the wall of elevators.
The first apartment she showed was one of the studios you had seen originally. Yes, it was small, but the wide windows let plenty of sunshine in; the modern concept kitchen was gorgeous, and the bathroom had plenty of space. You loved it.
“Shoebox,” Keanu whispered in your ear as Gwen droned on and on about the qualities of the place, making you giggle. “Can you show us the other one we talked about?”
“Absolutely,” the woman said, leading the way out, the elevator taking you three to a higher floor in the building.
This one was also amazing and considerably bigger. Two bedrooms, two baths, an open kitchen, the master bathroom was huge, with a tub that looked very inviting and a closet bigger than you knew what to do with.
“What you think?” Keanu asked, leaning against the doorframe, watching as you ran your fingers over the stone countertops.
“It’s amazing,” you told him with a grin, which he returned. “What do you think?”
You followed him as Keanu walked the apartment, analyzing every inch before, turning to look at Gwen.
“You have a penthouse?” The woman stilled for a second, stunned before she checked something on her phone and then looked back at Keanu.
“We do, but it’s already reserved,” she said, her tone apologetic.
“Show us anyway.” And who could resist when Keanu was flashing that charming smile, looking so suave and unflappable?
You watched as flustered Gwen raised a finger asking for a minute and scurried off, phone to her ear, probably talking to her superiors.
“What’s the point of checking an apartment someone else already getting ready to buy?” you asked, coming to stand next to him. The idea of it being the penthouse scared you a little and something told you Keanu knew.
“Just to sate my curiosity,” he said, fingers toying with the edge of your dress. “I like this look on you,” Keanu said, pulling you closer, his hands coming to your ass. “Easy access.”
You giggled and pushed his hands away moments before Gwen returned, her smile wide and you could almost see the dollar signs in her eyes as she led the way to the top floor, the elevator opening to a small hall that had only one door. She unlocked it and let you and Keanu step in first.
Your breath caught in your throat once again. This time due to the ceiling to floor window panels that showed the most gorgeous view of New York. There was a huge terrace and your heart leaped when you noticed you could see Columbia University from up there, closer than you could have hoped for. St. John’s cathedral too.
This apartment wasn’t much bigger than the other one you just visited and had all the same winning features. The biggest difference was the terrace and it was definitely something. You could see yourself having breakfast out there with Keanu when the weather was nice or cuddling at the lounge seat overlooking Manhattan and the Hudson River.
“You loved it, don’t you?” Keanu asked in a throaty chuckle, his arm surrounding you, his lips grazing your cheek, his beard tickling your skin.
“Ok, yes,” you admitted, turning your head to look at him. “But it’s too…” He silenced your words pressing a finger to your lips, his brown eyes shining bright as he looked at you.
“It’s just right. For both of us.” With a final kiss to your cheek, Keanu moved away, meeting Gwen in the living room.
You could protest of course. Insist on the smaller one but Keanu was right. This was perfect, the kind of place you had only dared to think about in dreams. The master bedroom was large enough that you could have a small home office in it and leave the second bedroom exclusively as a guest room. Your mom would die for that kitchen. It was everything you wanted, and Keanu was more than willing to buy it for you.
With much struggle, you turned your back to the view so you could watch Keanu and Gwen talking. There it was again, the flustered look confronted with his smooth ways and you almost felt bad for her. You had no idea what he was saying, but it was enough for the real estate agent to lift her finger once again and scurry off.
“Even if we love it,” you said returning to the living room, but pausing to admire the high windows. “Someone else is already about to buy it.”
“You’d be surprised what the right offer can do,” Keanu replied with a smirk. He shrugged off his blazer and set on the kitchen counter before he moved towards you, his gaze dark with desire.
“Keanu, we can’t…” you warned just as he crowded you against the window, his lips hot against your neck, his hands on your thighs, sneaking under the hem of your dress.
“Why not?”
“This isn’t our place.” Your voice turned a bit high-pitched as he nipped at your skin. “And she can come back at any moment.”
“She’s talking to her boss, who’s gonna talk to their bosses so they can find a compatible, but more affordable place to offer to the other interested part. That will take a while, so we have time.”
His hands moved to the front of your thighs, dipping in between before nudging them apart and you let him. Any resistance you had reduced to shambles when Keanu pressed a wet, sucking kiss to that sensitive point just bellow your ear that always made you soaked in seconds.
You rested your hands on the sun-warmed glass of the window, bending your body just enough so your ass was pressed against his growing erection, making Keanu smirk against your neck as he tugged your dress up, your panties down and dipped two of his fingers inside you and making you moan.
“Today you have to be quiet, sweetheart,” he said, and you could hear the noise of his buttons and belt being undone. “And I don’t have time to prep you like I usually do.”
“I can take it, sir,” you replied, voice shaking as he continued to move his fingers in and out at a fast pace, making pleasure shoot through you like lightning bolts, the surge of arousal and lust igniting your nerves.
“I know,” Keanu whispered against your cheek. “You’re already drenching my hand, your cunt desperate for my cock.”
You didn’t have time to reply nor to feel embarrassed, because he was replacing his fingers with his cock, burying into you till the hilt and muffling your cries by pushing two fingers into your mouth, his other hand positioning your hips so Keanu could better thrust into you.
His pace was punishing and soon you were pressed against the window, his hand coming up to play with your breasts as he fucked you, his grunts and curses tickling your ear, his smell surrounding you as he took you.
If there was any cognitive function left in you, you would be worried about getting caught; about someone from the nearby buildings seeing the two of you, but all you knew was the shattering pleasure spreading from your center to the rest of your body, coiling deep inside you and building like wildfire. You just knew your orgasm would be the kind that left you completely shattered and weak.
“Are you close, sweetheart?” Keanu asked, tone breathless as he ground into you, his thrusts short and angled just right. “I wanna feel you squeezing me tight when I cum inside you.”
You only nodded, bringing his hand from your breasts to your clit and Keanu started rubbing circles, his soft touch a contrast to the way he was taking you, but it worked, because in moments you were whimpering and shaking as the tension coil snapped and you came, gushing and throbbing around him.
“Fuck! I love how tight your cunt gets when you come,” he grunted, his thrusts gaining speed and losing coordination as he fucked with abandon, muffling his own groan with a bite to your shoulder.
His weight pressed you against the window, the glass smudged by your sweat as the two of you caught your breath and, in your case, also recovered the control for your lower limbs.
You were barely aware of Keanu fumbling behind you, slowly pulling his fingers from inside your mouth, wiping the spit the escaped from the corner of your lips and drying them on his pants before, pulling out his softening cock as the same time he brought a handkerchief between your legs, gathering most of the mess the two of you made.
At the sound of steps on the foyer, you hurried to fix your dress, hoping your hair wasn’t too much of a mess as the Gwen returned to the room, taking one look at the two of you and blushing bright red.
She knew. Of course, she knew. It was written on your faces. She could probably smell it in the air.
“The apartment is yours, Mr. Reeves.”
“Perfect,” he said, smiling wide, both hands inside his pockets. “I’ll have my people send all the required documents to your office.”
“Alright,” she nodded, a timid smile in her face. “Would you like some more time to… uh, look?”
You could feel your cheeks flaming as her gaze moved your direction. You quickly looked out the window, avoiding her eyes.
“Please,” Keanu replied with a smirk, and you felt his hand back on your hip. “I’d like the inspect the master bedroom a little more closely.”
“Just drop the keys at the lobby once you’re done,” she said, her eyes knowingly as she walked out of the loft.
Once the door closed, Keanu tugged you into his arms, his mouth seeking yours for a searing kiss.
“I hope you cleared your schedule because I’m planning on fucking you in each and every one of these rooms,” he said against your lips.
“I’m all yours,” you replied with a matching smirk, sucking on his bottom lip just to hear him grunt, his hands tightening over your hips.
“Don’t you forget it.”
don’t ever leave my side [Tendou Satori x Reader]
Helllooo! Can I request Tendou x reader where his s/o has low blood pressure and they just go like falling around cause they can't stand up and stay still and like, he tries to avoid them hitting the floor by grabbing them and try to avoid them hitting the corner of the door and ending up in the hospital for 3 days with a straight bloody line in their forehead, hm... I'm so embarrassed right now 😳 but can I request it? 😂
Requested by: anon
Yoooo don’t be embarrassed!! This is a really cute request uwuwu this actually reminds me of one of my friends lmao so it’s no problem really!
***
Having low blood pressure for a handful of years now, it was a common occurrence for you to fall around and end up with bruises and cuts all over you. It’s gotten really bad to the point that your teachers once contacted your parents to find out if anything was going on with you (or if you were engaging in suspicious activities). Your parents explained it well, and to your dismay, your adviser assigned you to be assisted with one student at all times.
She had intended to assign one student to accompany you to each class that you had to attend, but it turned out rather differently. Since he had been your friend ever since your younger years, neither parent or teacher complained. Besides, it had been Tendou who insisted to be your assistant, promising your parents that he’d do his best to look after you. After all, he was already used to you.
He was painfully aware at all times, and sometimes it came across to you as annoying nagging, but you knew that he was tremendously concerned. It was impressive, to be honest, because whenever you’d make certain faces, he was already at your side without anyone asking. It was always even before you’d realized that you were already dizzy.
His awareness was mainly due to the fact that he once saw you fall right in front of his eyes, and he wasn’t able to catch you before you could hit your head on the corner of the seat in front of you. Of course, he hated seeing you all bandaged up and stuck in a hospital bed for the following days. But what he most hated was the fact that he couldn’t even see the fact that you were starting to get dizzy and lightheaded, and that he continued to joke around with how ridiculous you looked instead of asking you what was wrong. How could he even be called a guess monster if he couldn’t even see his own best friend in danger?
Ever since, he’d begun to pick up your little antics. The way you’d close your eyes for an abnormally long moment, the way you’d hold onto the back of a chair to steady yourself, how you’d slowly get up from a seat so you wouldn’t jostle yourself too much, there were too many to mention. But he had a complete list of everything, and as time went by, he’d see it way quicker compared to before.
As a result, you and Tendou would be seated beside each other in almost all of your classes. You didn’t really mind. Less ruckus, less commotion caused by both of you, and you got to hang out more with your best friend. Which promptly turned into... boyfriend after you popped the question randomly while the both of you were quietly eating your lunch. He had almost choked, and he coughed out a quick “yes” while you doubled over in laughter.
It was ridiculous, how spontaneous your relationship over the years became, but it was one of the most exciting parts of it.
Sometimes, you’d feel like a burden to Tendou. Too worried that you’d manage to get hit by a stray volleyball if he took you to his practices, he would always rush you home before walking back to school. There were even instances of him carrying you on his back all the way. It would tire him out, so you told him that he didn’t need to do it, but he brushed it off, telling you that it was a good warm-up. Of course, he wouldn’t tell you that he liked the feeling of your chin nestled on his shoulder.
After weeks of nagging and asking him to take you to his practice, he finally agreed, but only if you’d stay at exactly one spot, in a seat up at the railings, along with one of your friends that you both trusted. At first, you rolled your eyes at how protective he was being, but you understood that he was only doing it for your safety. It was rather endearing, so you let him check on everything twice himself, so he could be at ease and that he wouldn’t have to worry over you during his practice.
You’d hate to be the one to ruin his game-- you’d heard a lot about Coach Washijo and how tough he was when it came to training the members. You’d always get used to seeing Tendou basically crawl into your bedroom after practice, whining about how rigorous their training was and how all he wanted to do for the rest of the day was to sleep beside you.
Respecting how hard he always had to work, you also took it upon yourself to make sure that everything went smoothly the day you were going to see for yourself. No need to ask him how practice went-- you would be there to watch every movement!
Tendou carefully assisted you up the railings, and he gave your friend one last rundown of what to do if this or that happened before you playfully pushed him away and towards the stairs, where Semi was waiting for him. “Don’t get too excited when you see just how awesome I am down there!” He called out one last time before he disappeared down the stairs along with his teammate.
“He’s so whipped for you,” Miyuki commented, slightly nudging you. You giggled in response.
“Yeah, he really is,” you agreed. It’s not like you weren’t just as whipped for him, if not more, with how caring he was always to you despite the mockery that came to practically anybody else.
“Hey, don’t forget our plan, okay?” You reminded her, and she nodded enthusiastically, giving you a thumbs up. “Of course! I bet he’d be so excited!”
You didn’t tell Tendou, but you had a plan to meet him down there once his practice was all finished up. It wasn’t much, but you thought it was perfect. It wouldn’t cause the biggest disturbance since everyone else would be starting to leave, and you would only be handing him his water and his towel after all.
Yeah, it wasn’t much, but to the both of you, it would mean a lot. Neither of you had been able to do anything without the other one, since he’d always insist to have you by his side at all times to ensure that nothing bad would happen to you. With that, surprises for one another was usually out of the question. But this time, you’d actually be able to do something for him without his help or knowledge.
The plan was flawless in your opinion. Miyuki would be able to assist you down the stairs and you’d meet him by the entrance just beside the door so that you’d have somewhere to lean on in case you got dizzy, and you’d be right there handing him his water and towel. You would finally be the one to hand him his stuff instead of the other way around!
“Don’t forget to stretch.” Coach Washijo called out just as he exited the gym, and all the other boys laid down and went upon their businesses. Some went ahead and immediately, some rushed for water, and you saw Tendou talking to that one dark-haired first year.
“Let’s go,” you gestured to your friend, and she helped you up, one hand on your arm and the other on your shoulder, just like Tendou taught her. The two of you took your time hobbling down the stairs, and once you stepped down the last step, she guided you towards the entrance, letting you lean against the wall next to the door. You gave her a reassuring nod, so she completely let go of you and let you walk on your own.
No one could’ve anticipated the next events.
You decided to take a peek inside before you entered, which was apparently a bad idea. Not knowing that there was someone on the other side of the door, a person had fully slid open the door.
It caused you to lose balance.
At first, you thought you were fine, really. You were able to stand up straight for a few moments. You even saw Tendou, who wore a shocked expression at the sight of his girlfriend being somewhere he didn’t leave her. That was, until you felt the dizziness hit you like a truck, and you fell.
Black rimmed the edges of your view, and the last thing you saw was Tendou frantically running at full speed with his arms stretched out in an attempt to catch you, but it was all in vain, since he was halfway across the gym. You weren’t exactly conscious at the time, but you knew that the look of horror on Tendou’s face was a look that was going to be etched into your mind for the rest of your life.
You were able to hear faint sounds of shouting during the whole time you were unconscious, but what was most comforting was Tendou’s voice. You couldn’t make out what he was saying, but it comforted you to no end to know that he was right by you the whole time.
Once you opened your eyes, you found a familiar red-head curled up against your bed. You could tell it was the same day. It was dark outside, but Tendou was still wearing his tracksuit from earlier. He was still sleeping, so you didn’t want to wake him up too quickly.
You started by wiggling your hand, which he held so close to his face you could feel his breath fanning against your palm. His nose scrunched, and he started to mutter threats. You could only assume that it was for his opponents for the upcoming match.
You chuckled softly, and you let go of his hand to run it through his hair. He leaned into your touch, and it was obvious that he was looking for the hand that he held earlier, before he looked up and cracked open his eyes.
“Hey,” you called out, and he smiled at you, trying to rub away the fact that he had been crying earlier
“Hey, you,” he grabbed your hand that was in his hair and pressed it to his lips. The two of you relished the silence of the hospital room, and none of you spoke for quite a while.
“Sorry.” You apologized, and all was understood. At this point, he had already crawled into your bed next to you, one arm around your shoulders holding you close to him, and another fussing with the gauze that was neatly placed over your forehead, completely covering your newly acquired cut that ran straight across one of your temples and onto the center of your head.
“Jeez, I know how obsessed you are with me, but at least promise me one thing,” he said, a wistful smirk upon his lips.
“Yeah?” You gladly buried yourself into his chest and waited for his request.
“Don’t ever leave my side again, got it?”
