I just want to note that John Oliver did a Last Week Tonight episode on public libraries this week, discussing mainly how libraries have become used as a wedge in our cultural war and mentioning how Gender Queer has been the most challenged book for three years in a row. It's available to watch on YouTube and is a good place to learn more about why your organization is so necessary! It also just has me curious about any sex ed books you may offer, since those are often some of the most challenged materials.

I know you don't really talk about Tim and Jason but I wondered why you said that Bruce likes Jason more then Tim when I always viewed it the other way around

Anon it's a such a coincidence for me to get this because this was something I actively debated over while creating the ranking.
In fact, originally I had written "4. Jason/Tim (tie?) 5. Tim/Jason (tie)" before I got rid of the slashes and ties.
This is the one part of the ranking that I'm most confused on/don't have an exact answer for. The rest are solid and those I'll be explaining in a different post soon but these two gave me a lot of confusion.
I think what it comes down to is in which shitty way that Bruce treats either of them expresses more love. And to me they're roughly the same in equally but different bad ways.
Bruce obviously loves Jason but he's also not remotely proud of him. His relationship with Jason is always "I love you BUT-" kinda relationship.

There's always an opposing side to every good thing Bruce says about him. He views Jason as a failure but he still loves him and yet can't help putting him down. After Bruce dies, he leaves a message for Jason -

Like Bruce full on treats him like absolute shit. How could you as a parent tell your son straight to his face that he's a failure and then say that it's your fault?? Somehow this is adding more insult than injury than to just blame him directly.
Bruce and Jason had good and bad times when he was Robin. There many times when Bruce was like "Good job, lab!" and other times when he struggled to deal with Jason. There was one case in particular that soured their relationship irrevocably. Things became really bad between them after that such that Bruce actively fights with himself not to lose his temper at Jason more than he used to.

Things get worse and worse, Batman benches him, Jason runs off to Ethiopia, and then you-know-what happens. In summary of their Robin-Batman relationship, Bruce thought he found a good partner in Jason, was happy for a while, but then started believing he made a mistake when Jason used the skills he taught him to go past the limits of what Bruce was acceptable with. The secret Bruce talks about is that one irreversible case I mentioned - Gloria/Felipe - where Jason killed a man. Or atleast Bruce suspects he killed a man.

When Jason came back as Red Hood, Batman felt so guilty for the fact that he made Jason robin because then Jason wouldn't have died but also believed that Jason was beyond saving. When Jason was at the hands of the society because of Black Mask who wanted revenge on him for what he did, Bruce almost let Jason die a second time - this time intentionally - before he changed his mind last minute and joined the fight to help him out.

It's this type of relationship I struggle with because Bruce very much loves him and even says so -

Tough love.
Maybe, but I guess how I would make out their relationship to be is: if Jason acts within Bruce's expectations, then Bruce loves him. If he doesn't then Bruce doesn't hold back hitting and punching. I don't think their relationship is tough love as much as it is conditional love. There are conditions to the way Jason must act in order for Bruce to love him and if he doesn't act that way then he stops caring about his son. He's happy if Jason comes to gatherings but doesn't particularly care if he doesn't. He leaves Jason alone if he follows his rules but actively goes after him if he doesn't. Both in his Robin days and now, Bruce doesn't tolerate Jason if he acts outside expectation but still loves him and although it's not the kind of love you would appreciate, it's also not the kind you can set aside and call it nothing. It's complicated. That's Jason and Bruce's relationship.
Tim on the other hand, he's very proud of. He thinks Tim is excellent, smart, dependable, and loves him very much.

But I feel like Bruce takes him for granted.
Bruce was both neglectful and very involved in Tim's life.
Bruce means a lot to Tim in the sense that he was a true father to him.

Tim's dad Jack gets really worried that Tim might consider Bruce more of a father than him. "Maybe - But I'm your father, Tim. Not him!"
The developing relationship between Bruce and Tim was based originally on need. Bruce needed someone who he could work with and Tim needed someone who could be there for him. As time evolved that need turned into liking which turned into love.
After Jason, Bruce needed someone who listened to him completely. Someone who never questioned him or doubted his orders and Tim was everything Bruce needed and he loved that.

Bruce invested a LOT of time into Tim's training and he also depends on him heavily but at the same time I feel like he constantly brushes off Tim's words and worries.

The classic "I trust you but I know better than you" x 10. And it's this thing that gives me doubts because I get this inexplicable sense of distance in their relationship. Bruce loves, trusts, and cares for him but I feel like there's something missing.
This being said, I realize that there's no clear explanation as to why I feel this way so I'll change the ranking back to "tie" for the two of them like I originally had. Because while Bruce loves Jason, he doesn't tolerate him and while Bruce loves Tim, he kinda disregards him in a way. And between these situations, I can't decide what represents more love or favoritism. I guess a part of me just felt really, REALLY bad for the way Bruce treated Jason. That post kinda shredded my heart so I gave him brownie points on the favoritism ranking list but in hindsight, after all this and writing it all out, I think Bruce loves Tim and Jason equally. It's entirely possible Bruce may actually love Tim more because unlike with Jason, I can't provide evidence of Bruce distancing himself from Tim in loving - only left with more of a sense. So in this case I agree with you, anon. It's very possible.

Don’t know if this has been asked before, but what's your take on a love confession? Who would go first? Is Raphael's obsession with Tav enough to actually make him say the words or would it remain with a version of his "own way"? Would Tav say them?
In my head, Tav is always the one to first confess, and Raphael never quite musters the strength to vocalize the words of “I love you”. He’s come close, but his pride prevents him from expressing such mortal, sappy sentiments. Thus, his love is forever expressed in His Own Way™ (being his actions and in the way he looks at her).
Sometimes she’ll ask him out of the blue when she’s tucked against him.
“Do you love me?”
And in these private moments, he’s always able to say, “Yes.”
Or, when she’s been particularly vexing, he replies with a serious sounding (but teasing), “Unfortunately.”

Okay, I thought about it for too long. So, here is a stream of consciousness answer based on canon, and I would love to hear what everyone else thinks-- AU or otherwise!
I don’t really like Haymitch and Effie as a romantic couple. I do think that they care more for each other than they outwardly show, but their dynamic is much more compelling as begrudging coworkers.
Maysilee or anyone we know from the Second Quarter Quell generation didn’t sit right either since we know he had a girlfriend at the time he was reaped. The whole thing is so tragic that I had to move on before I got too sad.
Hazelle (who is also QQ generation I guess) is such a strong and resilient character, and I can see her working well with Haymitch. The time she works as a housekeeper for Haymitch also coincides with the time that Haymitch must have been involved with some planning around the rebellion. I would love to read a fic where Hazelle picks up on something (a secret message, a phone call she accidentally picks up, anything 👀) and they bond over the secret they share.
Which would ultimately bring about the Gale question. Katniss always thinks of Haymitch as like her because he is from Seam but Gale seems to set Haymitch apart because he is a victor. It is intriguing to imagine how he must have felt like once his mom started working for Haymitch, and whether he would feel differently in the event of a romance.
So, Hazelle takes the win for me, mainly because I liked where the story could take them and the implications for other characters! Plus a Seam-Seam couple as an adult would be different from the romances we got to see in canon!*
*in canon so far because i am always holding on to the hope that SC will write another book & blow me away all over again

hi, please this is urgent. My gender is definitely fluid/flux or most likely fluix but the label genderfluid/flux/fluix doesn't fit me. I tried using bigender and trigender but I feel lie I need something more specific, please, I'm desperate.I mostly feel like I have two genders, one is male and the other is female and they always 'mix' (EX. feeling 65% and 35%, or 80% 45% and 55%) and 20% or evenIf i feel, for example, 35% and 65%, i will most likely dress with traditional male clothing (like jorts and shirts) and then add traditional female accessories and details, like lace high-thighs or ribbons here and there.I feel like the male part of me is more expressed and the female one, when it's higher than the male one, it's for sure masculine. In fact if I feel higher than 80% female I'll most likely present very butch, with traditional male outfits but tighter to show my body shape.I also really enjoy being male and feel a strong connection to male hood but in my own way and my dysphoria fluxates in intensity. That's why I ONLY use he/him even if feeling or presenting female.
Maybe I could be bigenderfluid/flux but I want some specific labels, at least, to define my genders and not just 'male' and 'female'. Or , if not this, a microlabel which describes what I feel or at least something close.
I feel like bigenderfluid/flux describes your gender pretty well, but at the end of the day, I'm just some stranger in the Internet who doesn't feel exactly what you feel. You can identify with whatever words you want and whatever ones make you the most comfortable. Sorry that I can't be more help

Hi! Based on the 1.6 update where Ras' new position is meditating on a rock above the water at the Luau; (i'm not sure if it's actually vanilla or a mod but i could've swore i saw him sittting on one 😭) Can I request Magnus getting pushed off the rock by his farmer spouse, who only had playful intent and couldn't resist the urge?
Oh, this is definitely vanilla SDV, since I just reached the Luau in Year 2 a week ago and was surprised that everyone had new dialogs and positions. And then Rasmodius is on a cliff and I can't go up and talk to him... Wizard, come down from the cliff, I need your unique dialogue! >:V

Magnus had visited Luau so many times, but this summer festival in Stardew Valley was noisy every year. Wasn't the sound of the sea breeze enough for the valley's inhabitants, and they had to put up these huge loudspeakers with loud music coming out of them? Which the old wizard hardly called music - tasteless and vulgar, if you ask him. At least the presence of his beloved spouse and the delicious food somehow brightened the day.
As usual, Magnus stood on the dock, away from all the commotion, and looked out over the Gem Sea, enjoying the sea air and the beautiful seascape while Farmer chatted with Leah and Elliott. This year, however, he didn't notice any merpeople nearby (apparently the horrible electronic music had scared them away), and Magnus' purple eyes stopped on a rock standing not far from the dock. "The Lonely Stone," as the locals called it. Hmm... So many years had passed, and the wizard had never paid attention to this small rock. And since nothing interesting was going to happen on the Luau this year, why not get a better look at the rock?
In Magnus's case, "better look" turned out to be teleporting right to the top of the rock. The people of Pelican Town were too far away and busy with their party to pay attention to Magnus anyway. And Willy, who was standing not far away... Well, the sea wolf's seen a lot more than that in his life.
The stony surface was not slippery, and even comfortable for the wizard to sit down and cross his legs, taking the lotus pose. It was a perfect place for meditation, with the view setting the mood for philosophical reflection and the sound of the waves drowning out the music and conversations of the people in the distance. Magnus closed his eyes, trying to concentrate on the melody of the ocean....
He didn't realize at once that he was in the salty sea water from head to toe. The world turned upside down, his back felt the wet hard sand, and he couldn't take a breath. But fortunately the bewilderment lasted a moment, and Rasmodius jumped up sharply out of the water, feeling his soaked hat become heavy with seaweed and water. As he came to his senses, laughter erupted from the dock. "Sorry, dear, I only meant to scare you with a little pop, not knock you off the rock." Farmer had a small blob of magic in their hands: that was apparently meant to "scare" Magnus.
Realizing the situation and that his spouse was the cause of his completely drenched robe and not so good mood, Magnus directed a sizzling glare at Farmer, which did not bode well for them. But instead of the expected indignation and well-deserved rude words to Farmer, Magnus only smiled. And that smile frightened the Farmer more than shouting. Before they could do anything about it, after snapping Magnus's fingers, they found themselves in the sea water as well. Now it was Magnus' turn to laugh heartily at his spouse, whose head had more seaweed than the wizard's (a free "wig").
Farmer from indignation began to splash water in the Magnus' direction and throw seaweed at him. The wizard, already with a more playful mood, began to do the same. This went on for a few minutes or so, until Willy called out to them. "Aye, the soup's ready," ignoring everything that had just happened, the sailor walked toward the huge cauldron.

Hi there you're really cool (shuichi is great). If you wouldn't mind writing v3 boys x reader that dyes their hair a lot (wild colors each time)
Example: one week the reader has one hair color than a couple weeks later oop a different color.
Little bonus: the reader forgets to dye their hair and their roots grow back their natural hair color

top 5 ISAT memories
There's quite a few ways to interpret this, but I'll go with "Top 5 events that grant capital M Memories," as that sounds the most fun. (Note that I haven't done Ghosts, Change God, and like half of the minor ones, so I don't know how those events go.)
Memory of a Journey. It's- it's the blinding ending. Blows everything else out of the water. Nothing else to add. 11/10.
Memory of Training. The whole quest is just amazing. There is so much character for Bonnie and Siffrin both here. The "And I'd do it again" part really messes with my emotions every single time I do the event. 10.5/10.
Memory of Memories. This event. This is where my opinion on the King, much like Siffrin's, shifted from "what a crabbing idiot" to "DIE. NOW." The cute events in this game are great, but boy if I don't enjoy the not-so-cute ones as well. 10/10
Memory of Touch. GBNDIADIIBSBHGHJSNBAGAIBHGIBHGAIBH. Just. AGH. I don't have words for this one. Just. Ow. 10/10
Memory of Sadnesses. Yet again, another event that made me really feel what Siffrin was going through. I went from incredibly annoyed at this sadness, to ecstatic about Siffrin finally dealing with it quickly, to worried at what was happening, to horrified. And the party member's reactions... agh. (They're scared of you.) 10/10

How do you make characters who aren't present still feel impactful and like real characters?
My favourite way to do this (and hopefully I’m doing it successfully, haha) is through anecdotes from other characters - because, to them, it might almost feel as though they’re still around
In my oldest attempt at writing The Heir and the Cure before it became Byoldervine, I used a memory of my nan when Connor was thinking of his sick mother; my grandad had been telling her frequently to let her know when she was ready to come out of the bathroom so he could help her back to her chair in the living room, but when she came out she put a finger to her lips and crept away so my grandad wouldn’t catch her standing up and doing other things. That’s one of my last memories of my nan before she died and it’s stuck with me all these years
From a writing perspective, this memory can tell you about her relationship with me and with my grandad, as well as the fact that she was independent, liked to do things her way, a bit playful and mischievous, etc. And at least for me, it has a bigger emotional impact knowing this is a real memory repurposed for a story. Taking real memories to use in your story is definitely something I recommend when making your characters feel alive and real
