Hello there.
[Slides elegantly into the tags]
Do you ever think about Emotion?
Of course you do. How could you not. But do you ever think about this exchange specifically:
Tumblr media
“You’re not Adrien!”
Because Adrien is sweet, and forgiving, and kind. In fact, kindness is his defining quality — Marinette herself made sure of it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’ll never tell another boy I love him before I know everything about him! Whether he’s kind or not, thoughtful, what he does outside of school and with who… I’ll know everything.”
But.
Do you ever think about Adrien’s development in S4 and especially S5?
Overtime, he has grown resentful of a system that exploits him relentlessly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of the people he gave countless chances to, only to be let down over and over again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of the web of lies and half-truths he constantly finds himself tangled into. A web that is only growing bigger, stickier, and trickier to escape.
Tumblr media
And the Senticousins. Do you ever think about them?
Tumblr media
Do you ever think about how they are each other’s reflection, identical and opposites all at once?
Tumblr media
“When you bring a living being into this world, you have a responsibility towards them. Your duty is to protect them, love them, help them discover the true meaning of their existence. To deprive them of that… is monstruous.”
Tumblr media
“To have a child is to help them blossom, to grow, to find themselves and to be free!”
Do you ever think about their opposite character arcs in S5 — one learning mercy and trust, the other developing a rage so strong it could destroy the world?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you ever think that if Felix can now have this exchange with his mum, and mean it:
Tumblr media
“They’re all monsters!”
“Not all of them.”
Then there’s nothing stopping Adrien from saying this:
Tumblr media
“Look closer, Marinette. They’re the monsters.”

Alastor X Reader Headcanons
❌️Romantic
✅️Platonic
Tumblr media
TW: Alastor's craziness
Description: Alastor having to deal with Child!Reader and what their relationship is like
Alastor is somehow the best with children while simultaneously being the fucking worst
Sure he can entertain them easily, knows all the right things to say and think of fun games to keep them occupied
He can make them good food to eat, supply them with the proper clothes and protection
He'll even play along with all your little antics, act as your partner in crime
Knows how to make you smile after something has upset you, giving small head pats and singing you a song
Lil song and dance number
"You're never fully dressed~ Without a smile~"
Let's you in on his super duper big plans but you can't tell anybody or else it'll ruin the surprise
But he has no idea what a child actually needs in order to thrive
His idea of games are often just tossing you somewhere dangerous or letting you play on a death trap while he lazily watches you
Often times he forgets to feed you and when you inevitably complain of being hungry he tries to feed you the nearest sucker around
Alastor kids do NOT eat ppl
Cannibal children do
Okay well ppl meat doesn't have enough nutrients for a child
Fine
Puts you in clothes that will embarrass you to tears with how old and dorky they are
"Well it was in style when I was a kid!"
And he more than likely will traumatize you with his idea of 'protection', as if his demon form wasn't terrifying to normal adults
To top it all off...Alastor can probably only handle you in short bursts then pawns you off on someone else
It's nothing personal
You're just needy and grabby and loud and you're prone to tears and-
Well, children are just that way by design
So it's nothing personal
But he does have a soft spot for you and spoils you a little more than he would the average child
Gives you anything you ask for no matter if it's bad for you or if someone else already told you no
"Alastor! Can I have a cookie?"
"Of course my dear~"
"Uh Al? Vaggie already told them no..."
"Two cookies then!"
Alastor finds qualities in you that could be nurtured and puts effort into helping you grow your gifts
If you get into trouble then he helps you skirt the rules of your punishment
And lands the both of you in a time out
"I can't believe you dragged me into your punishment!"
"Alastor, that was your idea!"
When you start trying to make deals with everyone around the hotel, he is so PROUD
Sniff "they grow up so fast"
Covers your ears whenever anybody curses around you but casually teaches you how to properly cook a finger
If you're dirty then he'll hold you away from him with his staff, sidestepping your grubby hands
"Oh dear~! Someone needs a bath~"
Leaves the hard work to everyone else but happily does all the funs parts of hanging out with a kid
You're probably his favorite kid in all of Hell tho

the thing about q!bad recreating the soulfire base basically block by block and planning to surprise the team with it is that it says a whole lot about him, where is was during purgatory, and where he is now.
q!bad spent months trying to burn bridges and push people away, he effectively placed himself in a distrusted position on the island, his children (the only reason that man breathes) vanished in the middle of the night, he was actively torturing himself and kidnapping people. he was a man on a mission, sure, but time and time again he reinforced to us the audience that he wasn't *happy* about what he had to do. his plan — whatever his plan is — is something he deems necessary enough to have been alright with ruining his own life. as he said to q!baghera: "i'm expendable".
suddenly there's hope in egg island, but egg island is actually a hellscape and he's trapped without his biggest support systems — q!bagi, q!baghera, q!foolish, and even to an extent q!forever were the people he had to take down, they couldn't be there for him anymore. and from his team? other than q!tina and q!aypierre, he wasn't close to anyone or was just... directly antagonistic towards them (mainly q!pac and q!tubbo).
and then the funniest thing happened — he found family in hell and in people he never truly expected to be comfortable around.
he grew to respect and care for q!tubbo, he grew much closer to q!tina, his relationship with q!aypierre was tested and strengthened, he found a connection with q!niki and by god, he protected q!pac — who'd once been terrified of him — with his life. even the people who didn't log on often, he grew to see as part of his pack in a way he (and i) didn't see coming.
when soulfire mains talk about them being the perfect example of found family, that's what we mean. slow, careful changes that grew into love and protection beyond belief — enough that when green gay ninjas were split, everyone was welcomed with a warm hug and a cup of tea, now part of the family undoubtedly and forever. just like that.
their family was hitting their stride when purgatory ended and q!bad tanked a nuke to his back to save his son, and now his bookshelves are all knocked over and his memory's slipping. he's dying, he knows he's dying, and he's holding on by a thread for dapper and pomme even if he's aware that he can't just "bear it" much longer. he's isolated again, hiding and lying about his condition, watching the world turn and knowing his clock is ticking... sometimes he knows nothing at all.
and in this moment of pain, and solemn realization of the end of this version of him?
he's spending his time rebuilding the last place that felt like home block by block, talking openly about how he feels nostalgic and misses their base, their god awful spawn, the memories they made. his time with his daughter has been spent down there.
i know we as a fandom have theorized that one of these days, his memory's gonna snap down there and he'll think he's back in purgatory and it'll be a mess. sure. but right now?
right now that rebuilt base means love, and friendship, and family, and safety. it's the last place things were okay, and he felt cared for in a way that frankly your children can't provide.
a group of ragtag mismatched people got put together in a poor man's hunger games and they saw this demon — bloodthirsty, destructive, full of cold calculated murderous intent and a need to win for his child and instead of being horrified, running away screaming from his fangs and his claws?
they loved him. they found the gentleness beneath the blood and guts. they called him their attack dog because he's so full of love and so protective, and would tear anyone to pieces to protect their family.
team soulfire saw q!bad in a way no one in the island had, and they loved him for it — even when he drove them up the walls and they had to hold the leash tight, they loved him.
and now he's remade their home.

atsumu, f.reader. angst.
words: 2K
tags: cheating, explicit mentions of sex, brief mention of an alcoholic dad.
notes: this one is a repost from my other blog. i edited a few things, but didn't change much. we're still in the cheaters era, but this time atsumu is the shitty boyfriend.
Tumblr media
Ever since you were a child, just old enough that you understood the world around you but not enough to know what to do about it, you had been terrified of being cheated on. The idea of entrusting your heart and soul to someone, doing everything to keep theirs safe, only for them to add yours to a collection you didn't know they had was something that kept you up at night, trembling in deep-rooted anguish.
You blamed your father, as many did when something went wrong in their lives. The man who was meant to protect you, love you and care for you. The man that made you realize, at your short 11 years, that love was nothing but fickle. You still remembered the exact moment when you had this revelation. The date or day of the week you couldn't recall, but it was evening, which meant that your father was drunk out of his mind and yelling around the house about whatever little thing had set him off that day. Like it tended to happen, his yelling was eventually directed towards your mother, wild and unsubstantiated accusations slicing and stabbing her like daggers.
And you remembered thinking, hidden behind a wall and listening to every word, six simple words that shook your view on love: It takes one to know one. A replica of something you had heard your teacher say that very same day, although in a different circumstance. The words came to mind unprompted, and suddenly everything made sense. Why else would he accuse your mother, who was devoted to your home and family, of cheating if it wasn't out of fear of her doing the same things he did? She rarely left the suffocating walls of your house, and when she did it was only ever with her children in tow.
What is a young girl to do with such a revelation?
From that moment and for the rest of your life, it was a weight you carried everywhere you went, to know your father was willing to do that to the mother of his children, to you and your siblings. How could you trust other men wouldn't be the same if the first man of your life had betrayed that trust before it got the chance to be built? If not even having a family could stand in the way of his adultery, why would other men be loyal to one woman? You'd rather die than be like your mother, trapped for years in a relationship with someone who didn't know what being faithful was, till death do you part. Or until the truth hit you, crushed you, with the force of a boulder when you least expected it.
You'd heard horror stories, cautionary tales, about people in years, decades long relationships that seemed perfect in every way. Relationships where they respected each other's privacy with great care, where they were so trusting they would've never thought to breach that trust. Until one day one of them had a moment of weakness, and decided to check what could be so private that needed to be kept hidden from them. They all went in half expecting to find nothing, telling themselves they were being paranoid, only to realize their oh so loving partner had been having an affair for years, sometimes for the entirety of their relationship.
You refused to end up like that.
Instead, you let guilt eat you up every time you had the chance to get your hands on your boyfriend's phone without him realizing it. Each and every time you would hurriedly go through every app, every photo, every call and text you could find. You would sigh relieved when you proved to yourself you had nothing to fear. Then, you would erase the trace and leave the device back in its place.
It was a necessary evil, you believed. Sure, invading his privacy was far from okay, but you had convinced yourself that, at the end of the day, it didn't really matter. What mattered was that you left the phone feeling reassured and at ease. What mattered was that he had nothing to hide. It was a way of telling yourself, "see, there's nothing going on. You're just overthinking." A way to calm your fears. And as long as he didn't find out, and you didn't find anything, everything would be fine. You kept telling yourself that, in the grand scheme of things, if you actually found something incriminating, hiding an affair beat snooping through a phone in the race of bad things. And with that you squashed the guilt of not trusting Atsumu until it was nothing but a whisper.
At some point, going through his phone became a habit, more done out of boredom than actual suspicion or insecurity. So when you stepped out of the shower and out of the bathroom, and Atsumu was still singing under the warm water—he always took extremely long showers—your first instinct was to grab his phone. You got comfortable, made sure the towel on your hair wouldn't fall, and unlocked his phone with your fingerprint.
Almost with apathy, you looked through his photos app, from the images sent to him and by him, to the hidden folder and trash. You snapped a photo of yourself and set it as his background in case he caught you with his phone in your hand, and moved to the next app. There was nothing in his messages, nothing in his calls, nothing on his Instagram app, or anywhere else. As usual, he wasn't hiding anything. You smiled to yourself and let yourself sigh as you got more comfortable in bed.
Before you could lock the phone, your finger hovered over the Google app and a wave of unease crashed into you. You’d never really thought of checking his Google tabs. Without a second to spare, you clicked on it. All air left your lungs as an instagram account, one you didn't recognize, greeted you. Your eyes took in everything all at once: the profile picture, so unmistakably him; the name and last name, so obviously false; the description that displayed his location, age and relationship status—”single.”
As if in a trance, you uncovered every bit of information you could get. The women he followed, the ones he messaged sometimes, the ones he constantly talked to, his reactions to their posts and stories. Absolutely everything. You needed to know it all, craved to find it all. If it was there, you would find it… and there was so much to find. So many women he gave his attention to. Most only went that far, flirty conversations and maybe some pictures exchanged. There were a few, however, that were the last nails in your coffin.
That weekend-long work retreat he told you about? It was actually a trip to Kyoto with another woman. Working overtime every now and then? Actually fucking a plethora of women. In cheap hotels, in their apartments, in god damn parties and events with his colleagues, the ones that knew you and treated you so kindly. His best buddy's birthday party that you weren't allowed to attend because it was men only? Two women. He hooked up with two women there, and then proceeded to talk to them about how hot it had been, how he couldn't wait to put his hands on them again, how each one was the best he ever had. It seemed they didn't know about each other either.
The absolute worst discovery came in the form of his coworker, a manager assistant. Ever so sweet at team events, always so eager to make you feel included. Always so eager to sneak behind your back to suck your boyfriend’s dick and get fucked in your bed. That is, apparently, when they even made it behind closed doors instead of just going at it on his back seat.
You found out you had almost caught them once. In their latest conversation, they made fun of how oblivious you were to the mess in the room, so obviously telling of what had been going on prior to your arrival. You remembered now that Atsumu’s clothes had been thrown around carelessly throughout the room, his shirt waiting outside the bedroom door. His body had felt sticky with sweat when you hugged him, a faint smell of lavender lingering on his skin, on your bedsheets. You hadn’t even noticed anything weird. She had been hiding under your bed as you sat and told your boyfriend about your day before undressing on your way to the bathroom. And while you showered he finished fucking her on the floor before leading her outside, cum leaking on her panties and clothes untidy.
You stared at the screen, unsure of what to do, how to proceed. You had never, not once, thought you'd find something in his phone. Never.
The sound of the shower cutting off took you out of your trance, and you hurried to close the tab, delete the apps history and connect the phone to his charger. By the time Atsumu walked in the room all dressed and ready for bed, you were combing and drying your hair.
It was hard to smile back at him. His grin no longer excited  the dormant butterflies in your stomach, now it stomped them and tore off their wings, cruel in its every move. How many women had he smiled to like that? It was hard to accept the kiss on your cheek. You trembled under his touch in what he mistook for delight, but was nothing but pure heartbreak. Had he kissed other women that way?
It was even harder to keep the tears at bay, to pretend you weren't falling down a spiral. Part of you thought you were doing a great job at hiding it. The other part thought Atsumu just didn't care. You didn't know which idea was worse.
"Babe, you done?" He mumbled from the bed as he scrolled through his phone. His eyes didn't even look up.
It took you a moment to unplug the hairdryer, too busy looking at the new smile splitting his lips. He was typing. What was he typing? Was he texting someone? Who was it? Were they flirting? Was he asking them the same things he asked you when he was pretending to want to know you better?
You opened your mouth to speak, a question tugging at your tongue. Instead you said a simple "yes." You turned off the light and dragged your feet to the table. Immediately, Atsumu deleted the tab he was on and locked his phone. He opened the blanket for you to jump in and welcomed you with warm arms and a kiss to the forehead. Tears threatened to leave your eyes.
The way your bodies curved into each other felt almost magical. As if that's how your bodies were meant to be, molded up against each other, basking in the shared warmth. His arms around you, legs tangled. Your head on his chest, his heartbeat against your ear. It was where you belonged.
It was also where all of those other women belonged. You weren't special or any different, just more of an idiot.
You found yourself smelling the sheets, looking for her scent and finding nothing but his biting cologne. It occurred to you that might be the reason why he always chose fragrances so strong, to drown out the perfume of his lovers.
With all the strength left in you, you stopped yourself from falling apart and buried yourself deeper in his arms. One last time, just one. You would allow yourself to enjoy your loving relationship for the last time. Once the sun rose and the skies cleared, you would pack your things and leave to never look back, but for the time being you would bask in his arms, delight yourself in the fact that you were in your shared apartment, your shared —and soiled— bed, wearing his clothes.
Tomorrow you could afford to lose it all, tonight you needed Atsumu to hold you tight just one last time.

im genuinely curious what ur take on a pregnancy scare with ds johnny would be cuz i personally can see him being all like "fuck yeahh i bred u haha ur mine fr now" but like he'd be an AWFUL father (imo) LMFAO
cranking this one out rq to answer your question, just gonna answer it instead of writing about it
dark star!johnny cage > pregnancy

while i don't own the concept of the order of darkness johnny, my specific rendition of dark star!johnny would not want to have children.
i need you guys to remember that this version of him is a manipulative, abusive, narcissistic POS!
he's young, he's spry, he's a party man, and he would be fully convinced that a child would be a waste of time.
protection during sex feels like a workload to him so he'd often hit it raw, yet still become a disaster when your pregnancy test turns up positive.
he'd make you take five, ten, fifteen more before he's convinced. he'd accuse you of baby trapping. screaming matches so loud you both get migraines.
being a celebrity, johnny would pay you under the table to take care of it. that's how he would word it, too. "just get it done, and not a single fucking word to the press." his reputation is more important than a potential family life.
now let's say hypothetically you end up having a child with him. johnny would try to be a decent parent in his own stupid way, but in the way that a Man would. he'd call it babysitting, pretend like he's doing you a favor and giving you a night off. johnny would sit down and talk to the kid as if he was an adult, speaking professionally and quirking a brow when the baby would simply coo in response. how the hell do you talk to a baby? he'd pick up extra jobs, extra outings just to be away from the crying for a night after a while.
he'd tickle their chin like they were a dog, crouching down and going eye level with them. the baby would stare back with large eyes, and a part of him tears apart inside knowing he wouldn't be able to provide the kid with the emotional support they'd need. he decides that quickly, absolutely, as if there's no way to change that outcome.
they have his nose, and your eyes, but a mixture of your lips and his. he couldn't deny that the baby was cute, but he'd rather admire the cuteness than manage it. johnny would try to show off his admiration by releasing adorable photoshoots of the baby in onesies or wicker baskets, but then you'd argue that you don't want your child's face plastered all over hollywood. you don't want your baby to grow up to be like their daddy.
johnny'd be the credit card of the family. he'd fund the clothes, toys, medical bills, insurance, food, but you'd be the one in the store. he'd just flick his card at you and tell you to take care of whatever seems to be wrong.
even still, when the press would ask about his child, he'd beam and grin and even let some crocodile tears flow about how happy he is to have a little boy/girl with his wonderful partner.
and you'd be stuck at home with eye bags and the same clothes you'd been wearing for days, feeding the child and wondering when he'll be home.

Can we have Andrew and Reader have a life after the events of the game (In the Bulletless Decay route)?
Reader would be an exchange student who would have gone to stay with the Graves family, but in the end she ended up being another 'victim' of the game's circumstances.
She would be a type of person who was indifferent to almost everything, cold-blooded, with somewhat sociopathic tendencies but with a kind heart.
Okay, let's do this, after Ashley's murder, Andrew and Reader finally got fake teeth and moved somewhere far away, but with all the recent traumas and along with the fear of being abandoned.
Andrew started to have possessive tendencies, a little clingy, toxic, manipulative towards our 'poor thing' Reader and that would result in them having children in the future, to keep her trapped in the coffin with him.
I assume you mean “Fake ID” but sure!
TW: Implied Trapped Pregnancy
Tumblr media
Decay!Andrew x Reader
Ashley wasn’t the only person to die that night
With her went Andy and LeyLey
And the Andrew you had fallen in love with
It felt like looking at the zombie of a loved one with him. Glimpses would be there, you’d see it when he smiles- when he reads poetry- when he clings to you as he’s haunted by his actions
But other than that….it’s like he’s a husk of his former self
Given all that’s happened with you two, it was only smart to move far, FAR out into the country
Aside from the visits into town to get groceries, you both rarely interacted with anyone
It was for the best in your opinion
Neither of you were functioning enough for society after what you’d been through
Indifferent is how you always felt after you two killed Ashley
If Andrew was a zombie, you were a ghost; mindlessly wandering the mortal realm without a semblance of a soul or consciousness
Though you were still there
You disliked the one day of the month you came here. Though the only inhabitants of this town were rednecked bumpkins whose only concern with you and your husband was that you attend church, they still made you uneasy. You were just waiting for the rug pull, the one person in a crowd to call you both out for everything.
In your mindless state of inspecting an apple, debating if you should grab a bundle, you felt a tug at your side. You perked up, turning to look at who needed your attention, only for your eyes to go down at the child standing beside you.
A little girl. Eyes wide and a bit puffy from the tears that had formed in the corners. As you silently stared at her, she looked like she was about to cry again.
“I-I’m sorry Miss…” she voice was squeaky and pathetic, she ran her hand over her nose as she sniffled, “I thought you were my mama..”
You felt a pang in your heart, which was a rare occurrence for you. Against your better judgment, you set the apple down and took the little girl’s hand.
“I’ll help you find her…”
The kind hearted exchange student that arrived at the Graves Family all those years ago wasn’t fully dead…she still lingered
And that scared Andrew
He was so scared for you, so worried something from you two’s past will come back to hurt you
You couldn’t leave him, no. You just couldn’t.
He’ll protect you
He’ll make you stay with him
Andrew held on to you tight as you slept soundly, your back pressed against close his chest. He kept track of your breathing, it grounded him when he was alone with his thoughts like this. You were his anchor, the only think keeping him from floating away.
Which is why he had to do this.
Andrew drove people away, if not they were taken from him. He drove Julia away, Ashley took away Nina, and then you both decided Ashley needed to be taken away.
Though the dangers were gone, there was the chance of a vengeful demon creeping out of hiding for getting rid of his ‘favorite tar souled mortal’. The chance people would find out and separate you both. The chance you would leave him eventually.
He couldn’t have that, he couldn’t bear it.
He lowered his head to your bare shoulder, planting a gentle kiss to it. His hands ran over your stomach.
“I love you Y/N…”

For ALL the yanderes you’ve created, those that are fathers, going to be fathers, or want to be fathers (intention to baby trap their wifey’s), how well of a father would each of them really be? Like on a scale of 1-10 (10 best, 5 average, 1 worst). And what’s their parenting style or just some tid bit info on their parental duties?
I don’t want to overwhelm you with this request, so hopefully this can be a simple headcanon list for just some of them like the sugar daddy, cowboy, politician, etc. of whorever else.
Thanks your stories make me so giddy to read and will you ever make ABCs for your OCs? (SFW/NSFW/mixture of both)
Yandere! Men and their Fatherly Capabilities
I've always wanted to do these types of questions! Scenarios are so fun to do and read so I hope I didn't mess up this one!
About ABCs, i'm probably going to do sometimes. It can be requested, although I don't know where to start with it. Kink ABCs, probably? I dunno, i've only read a handful of ABC drabbles. But it looks soooo fun.
Tumblr media
YAN! ARTIST: 7/10
Arlen would definitely be higher than average. His emotions are not that twisted yet (LMAO YET). He was loved by his parents, and his grandmother. He knew what a healthy relationship with a child looks like, so he strives to do the same.
Although, he would be clumsy sometimes, but he knows what to do and what to say.
"Honey? Oh no, don't eat the paint. *Chuckles* you weren't? Ah, sorry. But you want to learn how to paint? Alright. Come here. Let's start easy. Okay?"
YAN! DRAGON: 4/10
Vincent would be awkward. He's been for hundreds of years now, with no one to rely on, no family, no friends. Then suddenly, you came in. When you became his spouse, he was a little bit worried about your offspring. He doesn't know how to father at all. He hatched from his egg alone, so when your child got born, he's awkward, confused, and overly cautious. He's afraid to hurt the child after all.
He would probably shower the child with gifts, as compensation. Because you know, some parents, who cannot express affection in a physical and verbal way, would shower their child with gifts.
"Ah, child. Do you need something? No? Oh, hmm... Well, I found this necklace with a temperature controlled gem as a pendant. When you're cold, it will warm you up, if you're hot, it would cool you down. No need to thank me. It's my duty as your father, after all.
YAN! THEATER ACTOR: 3/10
Horrible father. Well, not horrible-horrible, but the fact that he wants your attention on him and him only is already a major setback. If he suddenly had a mini me running around and hogging your attention, let's just say Ignatius wouldn't take that lightly.
He will take a vasectomy just to avoid having an accident. So no accidental pregnancies at all.
"Ugh. No children for me. I can't have your attention on somebody who is not me."
YAN! BUTLER: 10/10
No doubt about Zero. He will definitely be a great father. He's the best butler out there. A chimera also, so he's stronger than humans, maybe even select monsters. He's caring, cunning, smart, and loving.
He's devoted and loyal, so expect your child with him to be the most beloved child out there.
"Pumpkin! How are you? Hungry? Haha, don't worry, I already prepared your snacks and drinks. Of course, it's in the garden, in your most favorite spot. Come, your mother is also there."
YAN! SUGAR DADDY 8.5/10
GRR BARK BARK BARK AWOOO *Ehem* wait what who said that? Well, anyways, as much as Rowan is the most caring sugar daddy out there, he's still a mafia boss. So him being one is putting you and your child's safety in danger. But other than that, with his loaded money and insane protection from his men, your child will be one heck of a protected baby out there.
Although, it would take more convincing for Rowan if your child wanted to be the next mafia boss.
"You want to be like me? Dream on, squirt. This lifestyle is dangerous. So if you want to become like me, I better see you prepared for everything. So, not now."
YAN! JOCK: 6/10
Damon would be at most, average. Well, above average by only a bit. Remember, he's not exactly the most emotionally capable man out there. His himbo persona is the only one making him afloat in the social world. He's probably gonna go and act like his parents. After all, he already has a himbo persona. What harm could it be if he would develop a loving father facade?
Maybe the more time he spends with you and your child, he will become actually affectionate. And he will be, don't worry.
"Heyya champ! Want to play basketball with daddy? What? No, I didn't trip you on purpose. HAHA! Alright, you caught me. You gave your momma so much trouble, so I had to discipline you a bit."
YAN! ASSASSIN: 2/10
NO! PROBABLY THE WORST FATHER OUT THERE! I feel bad, but technically speaking, he hasn't healed from his father's abuse. He's also already a violent man who would do anything to get out a reaction from you, and he won't stop until he did. So, imagining him with a child is a NO NO! He's that much of a bastard.
Once he healed though, then maybe? But definitely not current Azrael.
"A child? Angel, no. I do not want to have them. Period."
YAN! EX-BOYFRIEND: 4.5/10
Lee is emotionally unavailable for people other than you. Even his own parents. You're the only one whose able to bring out such intense emotions from deep inside him. But he won't be that much of a pain to deal with, it's just that he's probably gonna be one of those awkward dads that only talks to you one or two sentences a day, and only does his best in providing for his family.
Don't worry, he's not an ass to just neglect his child, just, barely emotionally there.
"Hey kid, here you go. Your allowance for the week."
YAN! COWBOY: 7/10
Knoxx is prideful, so he takes pride from his family also. He always dreamt of having his own child, teaching him the ways of the ranch, giving them their pony, and teaching them that once they set sights on a potential partner, they shouldn't let go.
Other than that, he's going to be a good dad. He will make his own father his role model, and rear the child to the best he can. Although not without a few bumps due to his personality.
"NO! Twilight! Stop! Don't scare the horse like that! Just easy petting, no sudden slaps-- TWILIGHT! NOW LOOK AT YOU, ALL DIRTY BECAUSE YOU STARTLED YOUR HORSE. What am I even going to say to your mother..."
YAN! EMO: 9/10
Ashton is surprisingly going to be an excellent father. He's in tune with his emotions, is not one to impose traditional views on his child. He will be very open minded about your child, and will be an actual strong pillar of support.
Along with you, your child with him will be a great kid, who's in touch of their emotions and is sensitive to feelings.
"It's okay to cry sweetie. If you want, you can embrace papa. There there... Just let it all out. You're big, strong, and amazing. Nobody should doubt that, even you."
YAN! WEREWOLF: 7.5/10
Lyall grew up with his family, which is like a lot of them. It's like a compound where several branches of generations live in the same lot, so he knew how to take care of kids and play with them, and make sure they grow to decent adults.
Unlike his family though, he will make sure to teach his child the ways of a werewolf in an early age, so that they will not be lost in the dark if they shifted for the first time.
"Shifting will hurt, I can't deny that. But hey, focus on your wolf's voice, let them guide and soothe you. I am also here, and also your mother. Together, we will guide you until you finished. That's my pup."
YAN! EX-HUSBAND: 7/10
Novel/OG Inigo will definitely be a 10/10 father, but for this version of Inigo, I only placed him a 7/10 due to him being an opportunistic asshat. In the novel, he genuinely wanted to marry Ykaidi for the children, but in this case, he wanted to marry you for you to come back in his arms, and is using the kids as a leverage to get you back.
Other than that, he's probably gonna be a great father. Allastor is one, so Inigo has a role model to look up to when it comes to amazing fathers.
"You two, what are you doing? Hmm? baking cupcakes for your mother? Well, isn't that amazing. Do you mind if I help? I can operate the electronics."
YAN! HOSPITAL CHAIRPERSON: 6/10
He's paranoid. So he's probably gonna be really strict with his child. Like, curfew time is 5pm kind of strict. He's not one to intrude in personal stuff though, so the only strictness he actually has is making sure his child is back home safe, and always at home, since home is the safest place to be.
Your child is probably gonna get sick of it though.
"What time is it? Yeah, 5:10 where were you? I was worried sick! School? I thought school ends at 4:00? You went out with your friends? I don't care about that but when I saw curfew is 5, it's 5!"
YAN! VILLAIN: 8.5/10
Eros is a lovable man. And unlike his current life, his modern past life was exposed to gentle parenting. He was an orphan, so he wants to give everything he can to his child. And in his current life, his father was absent, and his mother is a pedophile, so he definitely, definitely wants to break the cycle of being a bad parent.
He's the Duke after all, what can he not give his child?
"Happy birthday, my precious jewel! Wait, why are you mad at me? Oh? That? Well, gifting you a villa in the seaside is a good thing right-- ow! Ow! Okay! I shouldn't waste my money! Haha!"
YAN! POLITICIAN: 5.5/10
Like I said with Maximus, he's also a traditional man. He provides, you take care of the children and the house. He's also a politician, so he's busy as a bee making a name for himself, taking care of the city, and providing for his family. Although, he does make sure to spend his holidays with his family.
Your children will be popular as hell, seeing as they are the children of THE Maximus. So, goodluck to them if they are introverted.
"Children! Papa's home! I bought Christmas gifts from the cityhall. Your aunts and uncles wanted to give you tons of presents, so do go ham in opening them! Don't worry, papa will be here until January."
YAN! MAFIA BOSS: 5.5/10
He's the opposite of Rowan. He gets jealous easily. Like really easily. Same as Ignatius, if you have somebody that you put your affection into that was not him, it would leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Also, with him constantly filling up with wealth and expanding territory, it will be a horrible place to rear a child. Since he baby trapped you though, he has no choice but to provide for the kid. He's surprisingly decent, and his jealousy is more or less childish (Thank God).
SO, he just baby trapped you just for the sake of you being trapped. Hooray for the man who's NOT thinking of consequences.
"Boohoo, cry for your mom. I just stole your lollipop. What's that? You want this back? Well come and jump, tiny. Come on, jump-- OW! H-honey! OW! Okay i'll stop teasing tiny h-- OW! Okay I won't call them tiny!"
SO, ranking from greatest to DEFINITELY NOT
Butler > Emo > Sugar Daddy = Villain > Werewolf > Artist > Cowboy > Ex-husband > Hospital Chairperson > Jock > Politician > Mafia Boss > Ex-boyfriend > Dragon > Theater Actor > Assassin
There you have it! Our official ranking on who's the best daddies to the "I will not leave my child with them"

Vivienne Medrano started her writing career on a comic by the name Zoophobia. A comic that lacked any sense of story whatsoever. While she would argue with comments about the lack of purpose by saying the story was Slice of Life, it was a forewarning of her future to come.
The story started with a concept of overcoming prejudice, but was quickly washed over with a bombardment of a large ensamble cast at the very start before introducing a whole separate but attached world that spun off into Hazbin Hotel. At no point actually finding a reason to care about the original premise of a prejudicial school counselor overcoming those qualities to help those around them that were substantially different from them.
Rather, Medrano has perpetuated the misnomer that Slice of Life is the same as storyless. And that's the greatest misunderstanding of a genre that can be achieved. Slice of Life being deemed meaningless time wasting as you look into the dull happenings of someone else's benign problems is a childish perspective.
Slice of life is the cornerstone of coming of age narratives like Grave of the Fireflies. For young adults, a slice of life mature story about what it means to grow up, or inner child healing, or how to move on would be a niche that could shape a generation for the better. Especially in our Era of the internet where most of us have spent more time learning socialization online.
Where people are stripped of their humanity and nuance, and tone is read into lettering on the cold blue light of a screen in the dark. Unless this little pixelated square and string of text makes me feel important by either agreeing with me and thus making me feel worth through their "support" for my beliefs or flatter me and validating my existence before disagreeing with my points, they are the villain of the second.
And especially being a show released at the height of a world trapped in quarantine, where all our sense of community and humanity came through a screen, Helluva Boss seemed to want to be a dark comedy that tackled the topics of damaged inner-children, relationship and abandonment trauma, self worth and moving on from past mistakes, and the complicated minefield of grey morality.
This is not mere conjecture either. Medrano has an outspoken love for shows like Bojack Horseman but lacks the understanding of why this absurd vision of slice of life was so emotionally and mentally profound to an entire generation of young adults. Medrano herself has liked sycophantic tweets comparing Helluva Boss to Bojack Horseman and subtly props herself on these pedestals alongside her idols despite not deserving of the comparison.
Blitz is the show titular Boss of the series and is very obviously a concept inspired by Bojack directly. Both Bojack and Blitz are performing artists, but while Bojack was immensely successful, Blitz was not.
Bojack's history is that of two abusive parents who had no love to spare for him. Instead, his only worth came in the form of performing. It was the only time he felt any ounce of love from his cruel mother, Beatrice, who used him as a means to elevate herself socially while simultaneously feeling any form of worth through the validation of strangers. Bojack is aware his mother was not a great parent, but he has a damaged inner child still desperate to get her approval and affection. Even though he genuinely hates her, he has a lingering empty maw within himself that begs for her love. Bojack suffers from a fear of loss.
When Sarah Lynn drinks his alcohol, he throws the hair dressed under the train to save himself. Despite his honesty having a high chance of being seen as the accident it was and excuses being made for him, Bojack was too insecure to recognize his protection through his popularity. He grew up with a mother who was the definition of conditional, and any small or large mistake could be the catalyst that took everything he had worked and waited for away.
Bojack's sabotaging of Todd also showsbthis fear of loss more blatantly. However, it lacks the understanding as to why Bojack would want to keep Todd near while also chronically putting him down. This is where the lack of understanding best shows between what Medrano thinks is happening and reality.
Blitz begins his story much the same way as Bojack. Instead of a slave driving mother profiting off her son, it's Cash Buckzo, Blitz's father and owner of a circus, who slave drives his children to perform. Blitz loves performing but is not deemed talented enough to be valuable. He has an implied sick, unseen mother who is treated as his motivation for complying with his father.
Medrano doesn't seem to realize that an external motivation lacks the emotional depth needed to have an audience empathize with the character. This is a repeated issue in every character.
Blitz isn't seeking a parent's approval but is instead held hostage by the desire to help someone else, and to do that must be submissive to an authority who has no care for him.
Stolas isn't at war with himself over cheating on his wife due to the fact that he is a gay man in an arranged straight relationship but instead is a victim in his own life. He is told what to do and how to do it by every other person in his life and doesn't have an internal sense of responsibility that he is contending with. He has no needs vs. wants. Instead, his wants are universal. To be loved is a base desire, and Medrano puts no effort into expanding on what that means for her character. Instead, utilizing the natural inclination in her audience to pretend there is depth in Stolas' conflict.
Loona is similarly a victim. She and Stolas are not fighting their own emotions, but the bullies contrived in the plot for them to confront. Her fault isn't her own insecurity that she must overcome. Rather, it is the fault of every other character for not coddling her insecurities due to her having a sad history. Actively fighting against the notion that people should ultimately be responsible for themselves.
This gives the impression of someone who believes a sympathetic past must justify one's behavior in the present. It's a blatant misreading of the idea that everyone has their own storm to navigate. The idea behind that saying is that you should be kind despite what you are going through because it is easy to believe you win the bad day Olympics when you're in the middle of it, not because someone else may be going or has gone through something worse.
Wrapping around, the Todd and Bojack relationship is a clear parallel to the Moxxie and Blitz relationship. But while Medrano uses the line "I'm hard on you because you can do better" as to why Blitz is a chronic asshole to his "friend", the writers of Bojack are not at all interested in justifying abuse. The reason Bojack ruined Todd's chance to leave can be seen as sympathetic because he is afraid of being alone and the loss that comes with that. But he isn't cruel or rude to Todd to make him better, rather it is the systematic disintegration of Todd's sense of ability and self worth to keep him codependent to Bojck and less likely to leave. It is only when Todd is away from Bojack that he actually comes into his true potential. The support of those around him telling him how badly Bojack treats him and instilling confidence in Todd to try things once again ultimately results in him escaping Bojack. It is a slow process for Todd to leave. He doesn't just walk away like it feels in the episode. Rather, he has spent seasons slowly becoming more and more distant from Bojack with new relationships and hobbies, even as Bojack tries to brow beat and insult him into complacency.
Instead, Medrano thinks things just happen from large, grand gestures and emotional beats. That a sad past is a free ticket to being an awful person who is accountable to no one. Much like the villain of Bojack Horseman.

Hey! sorry to bother you but after your jjk break down i wanted to know what you think about Shoko and her role in the story. I'm just not sure where to put her narratively.
Tumblr media
This is going to be a brief answer, but I believe for her limited screen time she still has an important role in the story and it's the same role she plays in the S / S / S trio. Shoko is the adult, as evidenced here by how she's the only one who undercuts Geto's dramatic monologue to point out how childish he's acting. Unlike Gojo who can't get through to Geto whatsoever, Shoko underlines his problem in one sentence. Geto thinks that he's growing up by finding his purpose in deciding to become an extremist, but Shoko calls him out and says he's actually regressing as a person.
Jujutsu Kaisen is a story about children growing into adulthood, and there's a reason that Shoko is the only person in her class to actually reach adulthood. It's because unlike Gojo and Geto who were eternally trapped in their "springtime of youth" and failed to ever adjust to the trauma they experienced in that youth Shoko grew up.
A character who doesn't grow in a story is as good as dead. Gojo had a character arc, but looking back from beginning to end it almost seems like his death against Sukuna was inevitable because he never learned who he was outside of being the strongest, and he never moved past Geto's death in any real way and tried to make connections with other people.
It's something even Shoko of all people was able to see that Gojo wasn't. That for all of Gojo's claims of being alone, not only did he have Shoko by his side all along, but he also has an entire group of students who he was responsible for who were all relying on him. Gojo could have continued living for them instead of going out in a blaze of glory against Sukuna, but he wasn't able to see all the people in his life until it was too late. He kept on being blind to them because he was trapped in the mindset of his youth that he was too powerful to be understood by anyone and then never grew past that.
Shoko is one of the few teachers left alive at Jujutsu High and that's not a coincidence. Nanami's death is deliberately tragic because he was unable to protect people properly as a sorcerer the system was against him. Shoko's not a fighter on the front lines however, she's a doctor who exists sort of outside that system. Yaga was killed by Gakuganji as well. Haibara died an unfortunate victim in his youth. Geto defected because he was unable to grow up, and Gojo goes out dying against Sukuna in a battle to see who's strongest.
The only teachers who are alive are Kusakabe who's a minor character, Utahime who is the only other adult who shows concern for her students, and Mei Mei. I doubt Mei Mei is going to survive either considering she's the game master (this is just my theory but watch I'm correct).
Which leaves Shoko and Utahime who are both adults, and who also have a much more functional friendship that explicitly parallels Geto and Gojo's. There's a reason Gojo's death dream reverts him back to seventeen years old again, because in a way he didn't grow significantly since that time. Nanami, Gojo, Geto they were all unable to leave the regrets of their youth behind so the last we see them in the imaginary afterlife they are seventeen because that's the time they failed to move past.
Shoko grew up. She and Utahime are the only ones who were able to grow up, and because of that they ended up leaving a lot of their friends behind. I think Megumi and Shoko will parallel each other in the end of Gege decides to stick with his plan of three of the four dieand one lives. Megumi the child that needs to grow up, will be the only one of his friends to reach adulthood just like Shoko.
It will be bittersweet because Megumi won't have his friends with him, but unlike Gojo who was trapped in the past forever, life will go on for Megumi and he'll be able to live with all those losses.

PROPAGANDA:
Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss:
Listen to me closely. There is no other alliance on the whole Traffic series as based as them. They did EXACTLY what they set out to do. Did they Gaslight? Oh fuck yeah. Did they Gatekeep? You better believe it. Did they Girlboss??? By the good grace of god they did!!!!!!! They are simultaneously the blueprint for every trio of mean girls in a 2000s high school movie and the most genuinely devoted alliance on the whole server. They trust and respect and love each other in ways beyond mortal comprehension. Vote them please I'm begging you.
They were an absolute powerhouse! Also also, Cleo finding herself a group of people who were properly loyal to her after being betrayed for the healing arc. Scott telling them he was the boogieman and refusing to kill even if it meant going red. They're just so hhhhhh
cleo is gaslight (setting things on fire), scott is gatekeep (protecting the base), and pearl is girlboss (girlbossing).
Quite possibly the most ride or die alliance of Last Life. Consistently sharing lives, helping each other get boogey kills, refusing to hurt each other… they were just such a feel good team up for the entire series :] and then they kicked Pearl out in double life :]
Listen they are the EPITOME of ride or die. They love each other so much during that time. Do you hear me. Dear God they are the most precious
Best faction on Last Life. Set the template for pretty much everything Scott and Cleo do together, and set us up for 5AM Pearl.
Prince Trio:
Me when they're princes and children of gods (said gods all being siblings. Making them all cousins) They all need very big hugs. Sherbert's dad (God of Creation) is trapped in Purgatory, and they tried to get them out at the end of season 2 and it failed (because Sherbert got. A possible god following them around (metaphorically) and changing things they touch sometimes-) because instead of it bring back their dad it brought back a person they killed. (Also happens to share their mortal mother with Rae) Rae's godly mother (Goddess of the Mind) sucks and corrupted multiple of their friends. (One of which was Sherbert.) and he's also the vessel for said mother, and got some silly mind powers because of it. Athena is literally a child created for being the vessel of one of their parents, who is also the God of destruction, which by proxy makes him the vessel of destruction and that is an awesome title-

Bringing up some angst because I crave violence:
How would the SDV and SVE marriagables react to their kid/kids having the gift of magic, but then they learn that their children might get taken away by the ministry of magic to study under a mage in a different town?
Hello 👋 Glad to see you here again ☺️ I hope you don't mind if I only do SDV and SVE bachelors here 💕
SDV and SVE bachelors react to the news that the Ministry of Magic may take baby away from them and Farmer:
"Sam, our kid has magic." "That's awesome!" "Also, our kid can be taken away by wizards from the Ministry of Magic without our permission, to be put in the hands of a stranger for magic training..." ".... Now that's not awesome at all." Sam is completely confused and doesn't know what to do. Naturally, he doesn't want to give his own child to just anyone and to an unknown place. So he will consult with the Farmer on what to do. His first suggestion will be to make a lot of traps in house for uninvited guests, as in the "Home Alone" film. If their arrival is not avoided, the musician will not give up the baby without a fight!
"If they think they can just walk into our house and take our kids, they're very fucking wrong," Shane will not put up with the idea of some strangers coming in and dictating terms to him and his family. He will be willing to physically attack them in order to protect the people he holds dear, and will also become a little paranoid about the safety of Farmer and the little ones. Not under his watch, no way.
"What?! It's... That's... How dare they?! What right do some, pardon my profanity, imbecile have to come into our house and take our child?! Outrageous! Oh, I'm going to go over there and tell them what I think of them..... Well, where are they exactly?" Elliott may go so far as to go to Rasmodius' tower and ask him to connect him with this obscure Ministry so that the writer can vent his tirade on these upstarts. Alas, it is unlikely that a verbal altercation and bare fists will somehow cope with powerful magic, but Elliott is ready to fight to the last for his and Farmer's child.
Harvey could hardly keep calm, but Farmer sees the rage boiling inside their spouse, which is quite justified, for they too do not want to obey the stupid rules of the Ministry of Magic. Instead of aggression and emotion, the local doctor will use cold logic. In fact, the Ministry's actions can be seen as kidnapping, a violation of human rights. Farmer already famous person outside the Stardew Valley, and Harvey is not the last doctor, so if the case is made public, non-magical people will become a big problem for the magical organisation.
The news of the magical talent and the Ministry made Sebastian very worried. It's one thing to simply be offered a choice and quite another to be almost forcibly taken away from your family. Sebby wouldn't let that happen. Even though he doesn't know much about adventurers and the concept of magic yet, he believes that he and Farmer together can handle the trouble and protect their child from toxic people from some stupid Ministry.
Alex has a similar situation with Shane, except the athlete is now even more fixated on the child's safety. He knows Farmer will always be able to protect themself, but what about their baby? He's going to start being with his baby and Farmer almost 24/7. Farmer will have to calm down the worried young dad and together solve the problem, for Alex, who is guarding the crib for the fourth night without a proper sleep, already realizes himself how this stress is taking a heavy toll on his health.
Magnus knows how the system works in the magical world and realizes that sometimes the rules of the Ministry of Magic sometimes are... questionable, but he doesn't worry about this much. He is an official wizard and it makes no sense to give another wizard their gifted baby. If someone at the top does want to give the baby to another person, Magnus has enough connections (and Camilla as a bargaining chip), to give the Ministry hell on earth. But this is as a last resort, he hopes the Ministry will make the right choice.
Yoba... Victor had once read about the Ministry of Magic and the rather strange rules and code of wizards/witches/mages, but taking a child away from their family? That's not right. The poor man is utterly confused and doesn't know who to turn to for advice. All he can do is hope they can enlighten the Ministry members when they come to their farm. Or protect the child. He may not be as brave as his love, but a parent, when they feel threatened towards their child, is capable of many things in a rage.
"Don't worry, my love. No one will take our little one because the mage who will train them is standing right in front of you." Lance himself was given to his Dragonmaster for training, but it was his meaningful choice at the time, and his parents were okay with it too. And Lance realises that it didn't go as smoothly for other families. However, he, like Magnus, is officially a mage on par with his position as an adventurer, so it doesn't make sense to give the child to someone else. Lance will not give the baby to anyone, he will defend with words (maybe even sword and magic) his spouse and his child if need be.

how do these genshin characters handle little children?
itto, hu tao, kaveh, lyney, venti, xiao, neuvillette
Tumblr media
ITTO
in hanamizaka, a very famous word goes around the market— 'if you're ever unable to look after your children, hand them to itto!'.
although he has reprimanded many guys who tried making fun of him because of that, and so has shinobu, perhaps to a greater extent, it is no lie that when itto looks at a child, his eyes glimmer with adoration for the little one. it seems that babies really enjoy the cushion of his muscly arms and generally warm body and even warmer smile— the gentleman does not mind spending hours with babies in his arms, going from place to place in the market and making the baby happy with so many sights and sounds.
taking proper care of the baby is entirely another thing however, and the women know of his inability in the matter so when they hand him the child, they look at shinobu with a very obvious gaze that seems to say, 'i trust you,' and shinobu smiles back, her own version of, 'yes, you can.'
HU TAO
there is a very beautiful word known as idol in the english dictionary, and if you slowly move your finger down the meaning and towards the antonym, you'll find hu tao's photo in it.
thing is, she treats everyone the same. friend, elders, children— everyone expects nothing from this prankster and she likes keeping it that way because that's real! she simply can't take responsibility of others, however hard she may try. as such, it would be hard for her to bear the responsibility of being a guardian or even an elder figure for a child. she wouldn't understand why she has to be any more ideal to a child than she is to a friend, it just doesn't register in her mind. she can entertain a child for hours on end— but she can't take care of them or even keep them safe anyhow.
KAVEH
we're all aware how sympathetic and kind kaveh is, and it translates perfectly in the way he looks after children. he knows how to look after them and make them be at peace— he isn't an expert at this but years at the akademiya mean that he has definitely learn a tip or two about child psychology from there so he knows how to implement that too! it's nothing much, but children feel safe around him. he manages to portray an ideal figure to look up to and somebody children could want to talk to for hours on end. he is very patient with them and sets them right when they might wrong.
my opinion? he would make it to the top five genshin characters who can look after children in every meaning of the word, along with tighnari.
LYNEY
another figure children would really admire! i think that he's more superficial with that actually, not that he dislikes children or anything, but he just puts up a persona that children would fall in love with and removes that mask when he's out of their vincinity. he is a free spirit who dances on the wind, so children could be a bit time-consuming and tiring for him, although he wouldn't cut back in any form of care and concern for them, he'd rather not take the burden.
what i mean is his love does not come as naturally to him as it does to itto and kaveh, he just does it because he was assigned the responsibility. i don't think this has to be said, but children would find him very fun too. even if he wasn't a magician, he just has a very fluid and attractive way of talking and children would love listening to stories they've heard before once again from him just because he tells them in a fun way.
VENTI
much like lyney actually, just much more mature with children. where lyney could come to a dead end in certain things with children, venti can infinitely trap them in conversation and get them to do stuff that is good for them even if they don't want to do it.
i'd say his love for children would also be more natural. he could just find their optimism and love for everything as sweet and innocent and feel an inexplicable need to protect them anyhow and that would make him very patient in dealing with children. he could very well dislike the caretaking part but he'd quickly just accept it as a favour he did to the child's mother by taking care of her kid a bit longer than need be so that she can rest. very kind with children overall, though his affection is shown by making funny faces at the child until they laugh.
XIAO
very well, surprisingly? or not, actually. even though it seems that he is cold, aloof and shut off, he actually cares a lot and is very observant by nature, it's simply that he doesn't act where he sees that the person can deal with it themselves. he doesn't have a single selfish bone in his body— and the same applies to children too.
he may not know how to take care of them, but he would love to learn it from anyone who might teach him, all with a very straight face but a warm heart. he also wants to protect them because they can't fend for themselves, and he's excellent at caretaking because of that. very good attention to detail and that keeps the child safe in every aspect. i see him also making sure to check which foods can be eaten or not eaten together and keep that in mind before giving the child anything to eat. he would also take care of the tiny stuff, like not startling them awake, being hyper-sensitive to their cries, not touching them with cold hands, and just being very kind to them.
that, of course, does not mean that he does not keep a scarily straight face while doing all that, making the child fearful and loving of his guardian at the same time. children would definitely find him boring and dull, but xiao wouldn't mind it.
NEUVILLETTE
i think he would view children in a very positive and soft light in the sense that he really likes their way of looking at the world and could just want to hear them talk because the way they just say touching or overly random things either strike a chord to his heart or make him crack up, and he likes both these feelings. he would want to keep the child very safe and secure to make sure they don't face anything that could scar them for life. not that he makes them dependent, no the tough love factor is definitely present, but he makes sure he is always there when they're learning to swim in deep waters so that he can pull them out should they drown.
he would also know caretaking and babysitting pretty well. and if he wouldn't, he'd be eager to learn. he would make sure of the child's comfort and talk to them for hours on end without getting bored and teach them about many things too. he would be a very safe and ideal figure for children. (un)surprisingly enough, his expression softens in a way it never does when he looks at children and his eyes seem to glimmer a bit.

yandere!childe alphabet
warnings: unhealthy relationship/behavior, violence, some nsfw
Tumblr media
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
childe shows his affection through giving you mora or buying you gifts. he doesn’t care if you drain his wallet dry, as long as you return his feelings. that matters more than mora.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
the man is a psycho, who loves the thrill of battle, so expect a lot of blood shed. though, he finds it quite a hassle to clean up.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
oh, he will certainly mock you whenever you cry for help or attempt to escape. if you are being good, he will provide you with whatever you desire, but freedom isn’t an option.
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
he is touchy and intimate. if you show signs of discomfort, he will be understanding, but his patience runs out quick. if you still don’t give in to his advances, he will force himself onto you.
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
you are his weakness. you are his light in the dark, gloomy world. he can’t live without you, so he vows to protect you at all costs and tones it down with his punishments.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
he is amused with how much fight you have in you. he loves seeing your vulnerable side, but he also loves seeing that feisty side of you too.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
he enjoys watching you attempt to escape because it’s completely, utterly pointless. not in a million years will he allow that to happen.
Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
disobeying him will lead you to being on his bed, underneath him, screaming his name all night and day. sex isn’t just a form of punishment, it’s a daily routine. he loves sex as much as he loves battle.
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
he is a family man and dreams of a domestic life with you. settling down, getting married, having a house of your own, having multiple children. he will do anything to make that dream a reality.
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
he has an overinflated ego, so he doesn’t get jealous very easily. he knows other people cannot compete with him. he is the whole package. if he does get jealous, best believe the one who dares to pursue you and thinks they have a chance with you will be six feet under.
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
he is albeit softer with you than with other people. with other people, he is cold and ruthless.
Love Letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
first, he builds your trust, so your guard is down. second, you become friends. third, he confesses his love for you. fourth, he reveals his identity. fifth, he uses his title against you, so you have no choice but to accept his confession.
Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
not really, he still acts like an a-hole, but it depends on your behavior.
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
“what a naughty girl you are.”
the man is a freak. what do you think will happen to you? 👀
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
you are forever trapped with him, like a fly caught in a spider’s web. your friends and family will never see you again. ever.
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
he is pretty patient, but like i said before, his patience runs out quick. that is something to look out for.
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
if you die, then what is the point of living anymore? the world will go back to being dark and gloomy again, and he will go back to being lonely again. he might as well just join you.
if you somehow managed to escape, he will track you down the ends of the earth until you are back in his arms again.
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
if he was past ajax, yes. but childe, no. being in the fatui for so many years has fucked him up, so he barely feels an ounce of guilt.
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
he comes from a rich family. whatever he wants, he gets. that’s his motto.
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
“aw, why are you crying?”
degradation, manipulation, reverse psychology.
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
sometimes he is soft, sometimes he is sadistic.
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
he doesn’t get fooled easily, just like how you can’t escape easily. he can see right through you, hun. he isn’t stupid.
Wit’s End: Would they ever hurt their darling?
just be good is all i can say.
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
he will do anything for you. he will spoil you. you will never go wanting again. he will even kill for you. just say the word and he’ll do it.
Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
not long at all. he can’t wait for so long. he wants you– no, he needs you so badly.
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
if you are stubborn, he will break you mentally and emotionally until you finally comply. maybe physically if you continue to be stubborn.

It’s weird being in the office without her. She flew out to Colorado with Reid last night, the two of them stayed in a hotel (one with two queen beds this time) and she texted him this morning before she headed out for the case. He missed her. He missed picking her up this morning. He missed their coffee banter and how every morning without fail she got the same breakfast that always left his car smelling like a buttery croissant.
He smiles to himself as he thinks about her. He wonders how she’s doing, he can’t wait to call her tonight and catch up… hopefully, the interviews don’t take more than a day. He’d miss her too much if he didn’t get to see her tomorrow too. Maybe he could pick them up from the airport? No. She drove herself and Reid there, so maybe he’ll bring her a baked good and they can watch TV together? Either way, he wanted to see her as soon as she got home.
When they were approached by Colorado child protective services, they received a copy of the 911 call that sparked the investigation and a short summary of the alleged unsub. Libertarian cult leader, Benjamin Cyrus of the Fringe Religious group called the Separatarian Sect. was being accused of being inappropriate with the young teenage members. The age of the caller who made the 911 call is 15. This was a crime, no matter what the libertarians personally believed, under Colorado state law, he was breaking the law by having any kind of sexual interaction with a minor.
Sending Y/N and Spencer was a no-brainer. They couldn’t send JJ because she was pregnant, but they wanted a woman there to make the children feel safe. Spencer went because he’s memorized the entire bible and most historical quotes, he’d be able to deal with a libertarian cult leader the easiest. He had faith in—
“HOTCH!”
With his door open, he’s able to hear Morgan's scream even better, he’s immediately up and out of his seat, rushing towards the door when he notices everyone watching the TV.
“The TV, Y/L/N and Reid,” he points to the screen.
The report on screen is standing a few miles from the compound, showing footage from a raid and cutting back to his face as he speaks. “No one knows for sure how many people are inside. It is believed that at least three child service members are still trapped inside the compound.”
His heart drops into his stomach as if he just fell 30 feet in 10 seconds. His eyes widen, he steps towards the railing outside his office and grips the metal pole for dear life.
This can’t be happening.
She can’t get hurt.
He can’t lose her too.
Just then every single phone in the office starts to ring, he’s pulled back to reality and he catches his breath, “alright, that means we’re the lead with Hostage Rescue and Support. Let’s go!”
He runs to his office and grabs his go bag, he shoves his phone in the bag, makes sure his gun is still on his hip and his badge and wallet in the back pocket of his suit pants. He doesn’t bother bringing his suit jacket, he honestly doesn’t even remember to take it as he bounds down the stairs and runs to the elevator.
They all rush to the plane as quickly as possible, it’s always fueled and ready to go, so getting into the air takes less than 15 minutes. Once in the air, they open up their laptop and Penelope patches over a live feed of the Colorado news.
“It turned deadly when the Colorado state police officers tried to serve a warrant. Colorado attorney general, Jim Wells, says the reclusive cult has been the subject of a 6-month weapons investigation”
“6 months?” Morgan repeats. “We didn’t check?”
“Oh, we did,” JJ pipes up, visibly pissed. “I had ATF call Wells and he told ATF there were no pending state investigations. He lied.”
“Why?” Rossi asks, not understanding why he’d lie about that.
“Wells is challenging the governor in the upcoming election,” JJ explains. “He thought that ATF were going to poach his big election-launching weapons bust. Now, it’s clear he didn’t know there were FBI agent’s there, he just thought the best time to serve a state warrant was when the kids were safe inside the school being interviewed.”
“What do we know about the sect?” Rossi poses the question to the group.
Penelope, listening in on a video call the whole time, flips the screen from the news to her face. “Liberty Ranch was founded in 1980 by Libertarian Leo Kane. He created it as a self-sustaining commune.”
“Libertarians believe that everyone has the right to do what they want as long as they aren’t infringing not eh rights of others,” Derek points out.
“But libertarians aren’t religious,” Dave reminds them. “Clearly this sect abandoned libertarian principles.”
Aaron takes a deep breath, he’s still anxious, and his heart is racing but he has to get his head in the game. “Benjamin Cyrus, the current leader, introduced religion 8 years ago when Kane left.”
“Garcia, what do we got on Cyrus?” Derek asks her.
“Oh, we got bupkis,” she sounds disappointed. “It's like the guy never cast a shadow on the known universe… however his predecessor, Leo Kane, is doing a 17-year stretch at Deerfield Federal Prison… apparently libertarians do not like paying taxes.”
“17 years for tax evasion?” Derek laughs.
“Oh no, that would be 2 years for tax evasion and 15 years for going after four IRS agents with a Louisville Slugger…” Garcia pressed her lips together awkwardly, what a dumb crime to commit.
“Let’s have Kane brought to the scene,” Hotch instructs her to get the paperwork going. “He’s our best chance at finding out some idea of who we’re dealing with.”
“You got it,” she cheerfully agrees and turns off her camera.
They all settle into their plane seats then. It was a 3-and-a-half-hour flight, all he could do was prep negotiation teams and worry about Y/N. He worried for Reid's safety too, of course, Spencer was like a son to him… his heart just yearned for Y/N and after losing Kate, he can’t bare going through that kind of loss again and so soon.
He felt as though he was destined to only know what it was like to be left, not loved. He had such a tumultuous relationship with his ex-wife, being high school sweethearts also came with high school drama. He graduated a year before her, he was in college and she wanted to see other people. So they took their first break. He was doing law school and she was in teacher's college and they took a second break because his studying took up too much of his time and she felt as though she needed physical attention he couldn’t give her… then he went to Scotland Yard, back when he didn’t know if he wanted to work for Interpol or the FBI and once again distance caused them to go on break a 3rd time. He met Kate Joyner, they had a thing and when he returned to the States he asked Haley to marry him. He should’ve known that she would run once his attention shifted to things other than her. He thought maybe having a baby would change that about her. He thought maybe she loved him— loved their family enough to stay.
He was wrong.
Now he’s divorced, Kates dead and… and he thinks he might be falling in love with his subordinate.
He takes a moment to go to the bathroom on the jet just for a chance to get away from everyone. He leans against the sink and puts his hands over his face, shaking his head with disbelief. It all happened so fast. One minute they’re co-workers and he enjoys working with her and the next she was filling the void in his heart. Mind you, he knew her when he was married, he didn’t have the capacity to see her as anything other than a friend… now that’s all changed.
He took the ring off and his heart searched for warmth. For comfort. For morning coffees and laughter on the drive to work. For late-night chats and gossip about celebrities. For a hand to hold. For a body to cuddle into in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere. For someone to care for him. For Y/N.
He doesn’t know how he’s going to do this. How he’s going to stay calm and cool and collected while he knows she’s in there? He doesn’t know what he’ll do if she’s hurt. He isn’t sure how he’ll make judgements and do the negotiations knowing that every decision he makes could have consequences.
He heads back to his seat to see everyone else is also doing their best to stay calm. They all love Reid and Y/N, and each of them wants to bring their friends home in one piece… he’s not alone in being anxious and worrying for their safety. Maybe he can play it off, maybe they won’t guess he loves her in a way that differs from how they do.
Once they land they’re met with bureau issues SUVs and given an escort to the crime scene, all their sirens on, they speed down back county roads causing dust to fly behind them and rocks to flick up from under their wheels, hitting the car behind them.
When they arrive at the Hostage Negotiation and Support Command Centre, Aaron lets Morgan and JJ head in to set up and he pulls Dave aside. “They’ve left the choice of negotiators up to me.”
“I taught most of the hostage negotiation unit,” Dave reminds him. “You want a recommendation?”
“I’m making you lead negotiator.”
“Me?” Dave can’t believe him.
“why go to the students when I have the teacher,” he simplifies his decision.
“because the teacher is emotionally involved,” Dave spits back. “So is the agent in command.” He stares Aaron down, watching for any facial moment that would give way to just how much he cares for Y/N. Of course, he knew.
He gives in, looking down to the ground, he can’t explain how much this is hurting him. “I know I am. This is a unique situation. We have two agents who could affect the outcome on the inside.”
“True, but I can’t be objective. I know them too well!”
“This outcome depends as much on our ability to predict the moves of Y/N and Reid as much as it does Cyrus,” Aaron explains. “That’s why you’re the best man for the job.”
“Assuming that Spencer and Y/N—” he puts weight on her name to make Aaron know he caught that. The use of her first name and Spencer's last, it’s a hierarchy of needs. He knows Aaron subconsciously wants her safe just the tiniest bit more than Reid. “Are still in a condition to make moves.”
“I-I know how bad this is,” Aaron says, voice dropping down to a whispered tone. “That’s why I want you doing the talking. I need you doing the talking.”
“Alright,” Dave gives—.
“You’re obviously not in charge, I can see that!!!” A man's voice bellows through the air.
“I’m sorry sir, I’m under direct orders from the FBI,” one of the hostage negotiation team members explains.
“I’m the attorney General of this state, I demand to know why I wasn’t told the FBI was sending undercover agents into the Separatarian Ranch?”
It’s Wells. The man who got them stuck in the position, to begin with.
Aaron starts walking away from Dave, driven by anger, he walks right up to the man. “The only thing that you’re in a position to demand is a lawyer.”
“Who the hell are you?” The man asks as if he’s about to laugh at Aaron's voice of authority.
“I’m Aaron Hotchner, Unit Chief. I’m the guy who’s going to tell the Attorney General of the United States whether to charge you obstructing a federal investigation of negligent homicide,” Aaron spits back, getting more in this man's face.
“You can’t talk to me like that.”
Aaron takes another step in, towering over the man, “Get off my crime scene.”
And just like that, the man cowers, running away to his car and driving away.
Aaron turns to the other man, the one who was trying to answer Wells’ questions before. Aaron knew him from the bureau. “Hey Dan, you know Dave Rossi?”
“Sure do,” Dan smiles, reaching over to shake Dave's hand.
“We’ve been here before, haven’t we?” Dave jokes.
“Waco, Ruby Ridge, Freeman standoff,” Dan recounts. “Let's hope someone listens to you guys this time.”
“Oh, they did more than listen. They put us in charge,” Dave announces, hands on his hips, ready to go.
“So bring us up to speed?” Aaron asks.
“I've sent the state police packing. They started this mess and lost a man in the process. I hope that’s okay?”
“If you hadn’t we would’ve.”
“Good.”
“The county Sheriffs have had no run-ins with the sect, so we’re using them as support. We’ve had no contact with them so far. they’re got power. Solar. We can shoot out the panels if you think—
“No, no that’s an escalation,” Dave shoots that down.
“Okay, that means they have access to the news,” Dan reminds them.
“I’ll get JJ to talk to the press. Are your men ready to be briefed?” Aaron asks. Dan nods. “Let's go.”
Inside the trailer they’ve set up for secure meetings, Derek, Dave and Aaron start to give the preliminary profile and brief. There’s only a handful of men, which is best. Having too many cooks in the kitchen leads to chaos. 6-10 people, that’s much more manageable.
“We call this the Minimal Loss scenario,” Dave explains. “Every person we get out is a life saved. We won’t save them all. All of us have t be prepared to accept that situation.” He looks over at Hotch and then presses his lips together awkwardly.
Derek steps up to the whiteboard and picks up a marker, “cults are structured like pyramids.” He explains while drawing a triangle on the board. “You got the leader at the top, die-hard believers beneath… and the biggest group, the base. The followers.” He makes a point to circle that group and look at the other men. “Women and children are in this group. These are the people we can save.”
“The ‘trickle, flow, gush’ strategy is designed to get the base followers out,” Aaron explains. “First one or two, then three or four, then as many as we can, as fast as we can. And if at any point it starts to go bad. We go in.”
“The leaders are charismatic sociopaths who target the most susceptible to their seduction. They have the ability to see what each person needs and then they become that thing. We have to undermine their perception that we’re an invading army laying siege to their homes,” Dave explains.
“We’ll lose the fatigues,” Dan assures them. Losing the army look will make them much more approachable. “Ranchers clothes work for you? Like we did at the Freeman standoff?”
“Perfect. Anything we can do to demilitarize the situation,” Dave agrees. “But that’s about it… we have to make first contact and then we can act accordingly from there.”
“We have a phone set up for you guys outside by the lookouts,” Dave explains. “Nightfall is coming, they’ll be the most in need when it’s dark. We should call then.”
“Agreed,” Aaron nods.
--
Dave hits the speed dial button for the ranch, they wait for 5 or 6 rings and then they answer. “you killed my mommy and daddy, are you going to kill me too?” A little girl's voice answers, on speakerphone for everyone to hear.
“No one is going to kill you, honey,” Dave assures.
“This is Benjamin Cyrus, who am I talking to?” Comes down the line mere seconds later.
“David Rossi. I’m an FBI agent. We’ve sent the state police away, there’s just us and the local sheriff now. All we want to do is resolve this before anyone else gets hurt,” he explains.
“Then leave us alone.”
“I’m afraid we can’t do that, Benjamin, one of the police bled out on the way to the hospital,” he explains, wondering if they haven’t watched the news yet. “So let's just stop this before things get worse. Please, just put the guns down and come out.”
“we’re believers Dave,” Benjamin starts. “We believe that god says what he means and means what he says. His laws don’t depend on what state you live in.”
“I have no issue with your beliefs,” Dave reminds him.
“You don’t. But the state does,” Benjamin is clearly pissed off that any of this happened today.
That makes two of them.
“I can’t answer for other people,” Dave states.
“God will answer for everyone in the final battle that I’ve foreseen.”
Aaron sighs, leaning his head back and shaking it. He hates these religious types. Rossi makes eye contact with him as he keeps talking, “That’s why I’m here. To make sure that this is not that battle.”
“We shall see…”
Sounds more like a taunt.
“Now the three child services workers—
“one is dead,” Benjamin interjects.
Aaron's heart sinks down to his stomach further, he feels like he could be sick. They all have the same look on their faces.
“It wasn’t us,” Ben assures them. “It happened in the standoff, a stray bullet flying into our chapel clipped her.”
“We need a name, so I can alert the family,” Dave explains. Hoping to pry it out of him.
“Nancy Lund,” he says and everyone lets a wave of relief selfishly pass over themselves.
“Okay, now please, Benjamin, send out your wounded. I promise you they’ll be taken care of,” Dave asks. Trying to start the trickle.
“With enough supplies, we can tend to our own,” Benjamin explains. They’re not leaving any time soon.
“Okay, I need a few hours to put it together,” he explains. “I’ll bring them up myself at first light.”
Without a goodbye or a thank you, Cyrus hangs up.
They head back into the trailer after that, prepping med kits and retrofitting any electronics that get sent in with small microphones so they can spy on their every movement and plan. Aaron’s just excited for the chance to hear her voice again and know she’s okay.
“I’m going to go in and double-check that the kids, Y/L/N and Reid are okay,” Dave announces as he walks back into the trailer.
“Rossi, at least let me go with you?” Derek bags.
“No,” he shakes his head. “This is about building trust. I go alone.”
“I want the parabolic arc mics fixed on every window in that structure,” Dan announces to the rest of his crew.
“They won’t pick up much,” one of them pipes up. “They have blinds on all the windows, unless they’re shouting the glass won’t vibrate enough for us to get audio.”
“Well if they’re not shouting, these bugs will pick 'em up… at least until the batteries die,” Dan assures them, screwing the back onto an electronic thermometer. “How familiar are your agents with our playbook?”
“The BAU wrote the CIRG handbook,” Aaron reminds him. “They’ll know that we’re trying to get ears in there at all times.”
“Good, let’s hope they can get these people talking.”
“They will.”
At first light, Aaron sits at the listening station with a mug full of freshly brewed coffee and his headphones on, listening to everything as Rossi drives up to the compound.
He hears their introduction, muffled through the boxes of supplies. He hears Cyrus spout some more godly bullshit and claim he’s trying to protect the children. He’s not ready to let any of them go now, so Dave shakes his hand and heads out on his way. As soon as the door is closed, Cyrus says: “Prepare the wine.”
There’s a shuffling sound as everyone moves around the room, the elders no doubt do everything Cyrus says and the women and children stay seated. After a few minutes, he hears Cyrus again, muffled but there, saying something about being 1 day closer to god…
“Look at Jessica's body language,” Y/N’s voice can be heard as though she’s standing right beside the box of supplies. “The way she looks at him.”
“She literally worships him there’s no way she made that 911 call?” Spencer questions next.
Derek and Aaron look at each other, nodding with a small smile, they’re okay. Not safe, but okay.
“Look at how she comes between Cyrus and her daughter,” Y/N speaks again. “She’s inserting herself between them…”
Cyrus is getting everyone to drink just as Dave is running back into the trailer. “Reid and Y/L/N are okay.”
“what about Cyrus?” Derek asks.
“He's too calm? It's like he was waiting for this to happen?” Dave suggests. “And now that it has he feels vindicated.”
“Hey guys,” Dan calls their attention back to the headsets.
“We’ll be with him soon. We have drank the poison together,” Cyrus’ voice is heard.
They all turn to each other with horrified expressions. “What the fuck?” Aaron exclaims, “I thought you said he was calm?”
“He was! He wanted me to think nothing was going on, he’s a master manipulator! We have to take everything he says and does with a grain of salt,” Dave reminds him.
“We need to go in!” Derek shouts, gathering his things with Dan.
“If we go in there people are gonna die!” Dave shouts.
“People are already dying!” Aaron shouts back, headset pressed to his good ear, he’s still listening to Cyrus preach.
“What do we do?” Y/N whispers.
“Nothing,” Spencer assures her.
“We have to do something these people just took poison!” She snaps back at Reid.
“I don’t think they did?”
“Wait! Wait!” Aaron gathers them all back towards him. “Listen,” he switches the audio playback to the speakers.
“Cyrus just told them they did, I think he’s bluffing,” they hear Spencer’s whisper loud and clear.
“Why do you think that?” Y/N asks.
“Just after he told them they took the poison he waited for them to react and then he nodded to Cole who started to note down everyone who looked sad, look…. They're scanning the audience for the people who are fine with dying now and who are a bit skeptical. This is their way of narrowing down the true believers and those who he can send out to Rossi,” Spencer explains. “He’s smart enough to possibly know our strategies, he wants to send out a trickle of people and then do something during the gush…”
“Jim Jones pulled the same stunt,” Rossi reminds everyone, agreeing with Reid. “They did a test run just like this years before they did the real thing.”
“Dan, prepare your men to go in but not before I give you the go-ahead,” Aaron points back to him. “We need to wait just a few more minutes, if I hear Y/L/N or Reid say anything about people falling sick or passing out, we go in.”
“Got it!”
Aaron covers his hand over his mouth and hopes to god he doesn’t have to send men in there. They already lost one social service member in the crossfire, he can’t lose his agents too.
“Be still, there was no poison,” Cyrus speaks. “Instead a test of faith BECAUSE YOUR ADVERSARY THE DEVIL WALKETH ABOUT AS A ROARING LION!! Choosing who he may devour. Watch each other for signs of weakness. You are your brother's keeper.”
“Dan!” Aaron calls out to him, he comes popping his head back into the trailer. “Stand down, Cyrus said it was a rouse.”
JJ comes walking in behind him, “The former sect leader just arrived.”
“I got it,” Derek volunteers himself. “call me if there are updates.” He says as he leaves, holding his phone up to assure them he has it.
“Charles Mulgrew, convicted in Kentucky at the age of 18. Three counts of statutory rape,” Penelope says through the phone, recounting her findings to the whole team now… well, the free 4.
“So we need to talk to the warden,” Derek says with a sigh.
“Way ahead of you there, honey,” she assures him, making Derek crack a small smile. “Mr. Kentucky Warden said that once inside, Mulgrew found religion and became a model citizen.”
“Well it’s not that hard to behave when you’re in protective custody,” Derek reminds her.
“General populations a rough place for a child molester,” Hotch adds.
“No, no, no, I don’t think guys understand he was a Model Citizen. This guy volunteered at the prison hospital,— the aids ward, he was reading to prisoners dying of HIV… he was emulating saint,” Penelope explains father.
“Good stuff, mama,” Derek compliments her the way he always does.
“Damn straight now you get our friends back, baby,” she says before clicking off the call to do more digging.
“Well,” Dave stands a little straighter and sucks in a deep breath. “This makes things worse.”
“What? That he’s a model citizen?” Derek laughs.
“That he’s been to prison,” Dave looks at him, he’s completely serious. There’s no room for giggles now.
Derek closes his eyes for a moment and his shoulders drop, “right. He knows what happens to child molesters there…”
“If the current sexual allegations are true and he thinks we know it, he’s not coming out of there,” Hotch agrees.
“Then we have to make him think he’s not going back to prison,” Dave assures.
“JJ,” Aaron calls back into the main tent for her. “I need you to release a press statement saying that we have absolutely no evidence of sexual allegations.”
JJ comes marching back over to them, sweaty and exhausted, she rests her hands on her pregnant belly and shakes her head, “You need to see this, pop the laptop open. Click on the news tab and play the audio…”
They follow her instructions, gathering around the laptop they see the same news guy from yesterday, he’s set up a little camp for himself in the hills somewhere. He has a perfect view of the ranch and he’s keeping his voice low.
“Now well into its second day, the standoff at the Separatarian Sect Ranch is now been taken over by the FBI. There is much speculation in regard to hostages, but anonymous sources inside the state attorney general's office have told us there is an undercover FBI agent currently being held inside the ranch. Hostage negotiators say they are making headway with the sect's leadership and are hopeful for a positive outcome. There is still no word as to why an undercover FBI agent was sent in alone…”
“Are you fucking Kidding me?” Hotch stands, anger than ever before. “I’m going to I’m going to wring that fuckers neck. I’m going to make his life a living hell.”
“Hotch,” JJ can’t believe those words left his mouth.
“You two,” he points at Derek and Dave, “you get to the parabolic mics and listen in as best as you can. JJ I want you to circle back with Penelope and tell her she can dig into Wells' life as hard as she can and you can reach out to the press with dirt on him. He wants to win the election so bad he’s willing to get federal agents dead, then we’re going to air all his dirty laundry.”
“Got it,” JJ likes that idea and runs back into the tent to make her calls.
Dave and Derek run to the parabolic mic station, leaving Aaron to head back inside and listen to the other spy mics they sent in.
There’s a silent chatter in the church, the mics are picking up more now that they’re not trapped inside boxes and surrounded by supplies. There are a few different angles they get based on what supply was places where. They’re all synced up, playing at the same time and able to be pinpointed for spy-in on individual conversations.
Suddenly, they hear the sound of a struggle, “Get off me! I can walk without you pulling my fucking hair!” Y/N’s voice shouts back.
“FBI scum like you don't get to give orders,” one of Cyrus’ goons speaks back to her and then he hears a slap.
Y/N groans at the pain and Aaron covers his mouth. He’s never been this anxious in his whole life. He wants to run down there, break in and kick the shit out of anyone who laid a hand on her. And then it gets worse.
More mics pick up the sound of the struggle. They hear what Aaron supposes is her body being dragged as she struggles and then the sound of her smacking the concrete. It sounded hard. Like she hit her head.
“I thought I told you not to put me in this position!” Cyrus shouts. Slamming the door behind himself.
Of course, he wouldn’t do this in front of the members.
He slaps her again, the sound of her struggle makes Aaron want to throw up. He doesn’t know what to do with his hands. One second he’s covering his mouth then holding the headphones to his ears and the next he’s just holding them out for no reason. He listens in as she keeps getting hit. Punched, kicked, slapped… he really hopes that this is the extent of Cyrus’ abuse. If he had to hear anything else…. He would actually throw up all over everything.
“We’ve gotta go in,” Aaron says as he takes the headphones off. Derek and Rossi come running into the trailer then.
“We can’t go in,” Dave reminds him. “We’d be risking the lives of everyone in there.”
He knows Dave is right, Dan’s put the sound of her struggle on the speaker for everyone to hear and Aaron can’t escape it. The sound of her being hit again and again, moaning from the pain, she’s struggling to defend herself.
“Get up!” Cyrus says, hauling her up and then punching her in the face again. She slams into something this time, there’s the sound of a window or glass or something shattering and then her crying.
“Proverbs 20:30 tells us blows and wounds cleanse evil,” he spouts his bullshit at her. Then he growls, tossing her in another direction and she falls to the floor once more.
She cries, breathing in sounds like it hurts as she whines as she does so, “I can take it!”
“Oh, you can take it?” Cyrus just gets more pissed at that. He slaps her again and she cries more.
“I can take it!”
“Listen to what she’s saying…” Dave suggests.
“She’s antagonizing him!” Derek gets defensive, on Hotch’s side and wants to go in.
“She’s not talking to him, she’s telling us not to come in,” Aaron agrees with Dave, bowing his head, he hates that he’s right.
He can’t take this anymore. He gets up and leaves the room, Dave can listen to the rest. He has to step outside, away front he watchful eye of everyone there and around behind the trailer. He rests his back against it and sinks down to the floor, his face in his hands. He cries.
The weight of everything comes crashing down on him in that moment. He lost his wife. He hasn’t seen his son for more than a few hours in the last 6 months, his friend and colleague died in his arms in the middle of the street and he almost died too. The only good thing that’s happened in all of this is that he’s gotten closer to Y/N.
If anything happens to her he’s going to actually go insane. He may have joked about it before, when he was off work and had nothing to do… but now it feels real. He can’t lose her. He can’t go through the trauma of burying another friend. He can’t imagine losing another woman he loves. Cause he does love her. He loves her more than he should love a co-worker.
It all started when he got divorced. He never had eyes for any other woman but his wife, however, after the divorce… he found himself enjoying her company for reasons other than friendship. Sure, getting coffee together in the mornings was nice and he didn’t care for her choice of TV shows but hearing her talk and knowing her opinions on things felt special to him. He knew a side of her that no one else on the team knew.
And sleeping beside her didn’t help his crush either. She was so soft. She cuddled into him like she was always meant to be there. When he woke up that next morning, spooned into her, he could smell her hair and he had his hand on her stomach… under her shirt. As if in the night they got even closer than either one of them ever thought possible.
Derek comes out to find him just a few minutes later. Aaron’s managed to wipe his tears and pull himself together a bit, he accepts Derek's hand and gets pulled back up to his feet. “They took her to another room but there are blinds on the windows so we can’t hear anything.”
Aaron just nods. “I don’t know why she did that, why she put herself in danger like that.”
“He probably held a gun to one of them and got them to confess, he did that to get Kane out of the ranch, too,” Derek theorizes. “Maybe she confessed to get him off Reid? Reid’s only in there because he knows the bible so well, he can get on Cyrus’s good side and help us out. She knew that.”
“Still,” Aaron can’t really argue.
“I know you love her, man, but we’ve got a job to do,” Derek whispers. “I feel the same way about Spencer.”
Aaron’s a little shocked to hear that but then again, not? It makes sense. The teasing, the closeness, the room sharing… that time Spencer missed his flight to hang out with another man he knew as a teenager. There were signs there from both of them, he just never thought to read them until now.
Aaron stares into his eyes, the two men would do anything for their team already, knowing they both loved someone in the ranch, which made them even more eager to do this right. “So let’s get them out of there.”
Back inside the trailer, Rossi has the speakers on still, and Reids talking. “Nancy said she was a child abuse interview expert from Denver. In the four years I’ve worked with her, Nancy’s never lied to me before.”
“As far as you know,” Cyrus spoke, believing him. “Their law says that a 15-year-old girl is a child when just 50 years ago that same law said that a 14-year-old was an adult. Have children changed so much in 50 years?”
“I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve investigated abuse charges against small religious groups… most all of them turn out to be false,” Reid lies to him. Successfully.
“What do you think of that?”
“What does it matter what I think?”
“It matters to me,” Cyrus assures him.
“Why?”
“Because god wants to save you,” Cyrus spouts.
“I swear to god if Cyrus comes out of there alive I’m going to beat him to death with my bare hands,” Derek mumbles under his breath to Hotch.
“Get in line.”
“I mean, that’s why god sent you here, isn’t it?” Cyrus poses, making reid feel like he’s a part of them now.
“I think… on the next call you should test them,” Reid suggests. “Test the negotiator. Make him prove that he isn’t a liar.”
“How would you suggest do that?”
“Ask for the identity of the FBI agent—
“We already know her identity,” his goon responds for him.
“They don’t know that we know,” Cyrus agrees with Reid.
“but the FBI would never tell is that?” The goon responds again.
“They keep asking you to release people, say you’ll release a kid only if they tell you her identity and if they really care about the children they’ll have to tell you her identity,” Spencer tries harder to get Cyrus on his side.
“You’re trying to get us to release a child!” The man fights with Reid.
“It’s one kid,” Spencer talks to him like he’s an idiot. “If they don’t hold up on their end of the deal then you know they can’t be trusted.”
“He’s right,” Cyrus ultimately agrees.
“Reid has ‘em,” Rossi turns back to them, clearly proud of the kid.
“What is it, Christopher?” Cyrus asks his friend.
“Well… some of them have been talking about… leaving?” He poses the suggestion.
“Leaving?” Cyrus repeats.
“yeah…”
“Wake the baby. Let them see the orphan they’ve made.”
“Okay, everyone!!” Hotch calls out of the trailer, getting the other's attention. “We’re about to get a call, we should expect some members to be released shortly. Get ready for phase one.”
Everyone rushes around then. Preparing to make room for the followers, cars are called in to collect people and take them to a hotel for the night and a few ambulances show up in case anyone is in need of medical support.
But no call comes in.
They wait all night until the sun comes up. But nothing.
“They’re probably going to ask when we call them,” Rossi suggests. “I’ll give my morning call at 6.”
“Okay,” Hotch agrees. “Morgan, I want you to take the truck up to the ranch and collect the little girl, if anyone else is released, Dan will come up and help escort them over here.”
“Yes sir.”
Rossi calls in right at 6. They haven’t heard anything else over the mics or through the windows. Most of the members must’ve been asleep in the chapel overnight. Sleeping in pews or on the floor… they all must be exhausted and mostly ready to leave now that the condition of their stay has changed.
“Good morning, Ben, how are you today?” Rossi speaks to him cheerfully.
“We are prepared to release a child if you tell me the identity of the FBI agent promise no harm will come to them from this point forward,” Cyrus leads right into it.
A wave of relief washes over Aaron.
“I can’t give you that information,” Rossi eggs him on.
“I will send the child now.”
Aaron waves his hand to Dan who’s got eyes on the ranch, a little girl has started to walk out of the compound and is standing in the gravel driveway. Dan motions to Derek who’s already taking his gun off and handing it to Hotch who hands him a radio in return. He takes off to the truck then, one of the other men drives Derek up and they watch on the cameras as Derek calmly collects the little girl and gets her into the truck safely.
“I’m taking a big risk here Ben,” Dave tries to play it cool with him.
“Trust is earned,” Cyrus reminds him.
“Her name is Y/N Y/L/N,” Rossi says her full name. “She came in with two child service workers to talk to the girls.”
“There’s a good chance we can work this out, Dave” Cyrus assures him. “I’m gonna provide another sign of good faith.”
“You’re doing a good thing here,” Dave assures him. Hyping up his confidence, getting on his good side.
Cyrus hangs up after that and they rely back to the microphones. “Assemble everyone in the chapel. Get agent Prentiss back down here,” Cyrus orders Christopher.
“This is it,” Aaron assures Dave and Dan. “We’ve started the trickle, it’s about to flow. We need to be prepared for women in children to be released as well as some of their husbands who’ve lost faith in Cyrus.”
Just as they thought, 10 minutes after the order to gather everyone, Cyrus starts to explain why he has them all gathered there. He points out that some of them have lost their faith, that he no longer can support people who don’t support him and his god. And then he starts to name names.
“He looks pissed?” They hear Y/N whisper.
Of course, the two of them would stand where they could be heard the best by the others.
“It’s not as bad as it looks,” she assures Spencer.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispers to her.
“Look at who he’s releasing,” Y/N says again.
“It’s the ones who failed the loyalty test,” Spencer explains. “I’ll get word to the team. You wait for a sign from the outside that will tell us when the raid will come.”
The room goes quiet for a few moments and then they heard, “Take her back.”
Y/N was being sent back to whatever room they had her locked in, in the first place. They need to figure out where that would be… they need to be able to find her during the raid and get her out of there safely.
“Those of you standing, collect your belongings and meet in the main hall immediately,” Cyrus orders.
Not long after that, they start to see a bunch of people start to leave the chapel. Just then, Cyrus calls them. They send Dan and his guys out to collect the survivors and Hotch listens in on the phone call.
“We will surrender tomorrow at noon, we want the press there to make sure that we’re treated fairly,” Cyrus makes them a deal. “We’ll discuss the details tomorrow at our 7 am call… I’ll see you then Dave.”
“I look forward to it,” Dave agrees.
“Oh, and one more thing, could you send in some food in?” He requests.
“Sure, what would you like?” Dave pretends to be hospitable but by the look on his face, Aaron can tell he rather take a bite out of a leather shoe than keep this act up.
“Fried chicken, all the fixings.”
“You got it! I’ll have it brought right up to you.” Dave hangs up and shakes his head. “I hate this mother fucker.”
“I don’t understand, why did you let them go?” Another goon asks, more like, demands to know from Cyrus.
“They weren’t prepared to do what was needed of them,” Spencer butts in.
“Yeah, no offence but you’re not one of us so shut the fuck up,” he spits back at Spencer.
“Listen to him,” Cyrus sides with Reid. “Tell him, Spencer.”
“They failed the test,” Spencer explains. “They-they had a chance to prove their faith when Cyrus told them that they’d sacrificed themselves for god, but instead they showed they weren’t worthy…. That’s why he wants the media to bear witness to your true final act of sacrifice.”
“how do you know that?” The man asks.
“I’m always looking for signs of things to come.”
“Spencer’s asking us for what time to expect the raid,” Dave understands his meaning right away. “He’s telling us this is it! Time is running out! We’ve gotta go in!”
The food arrives around mid-day, and they have it delivered to the trailer first. They examine it all to make sure nothing's been tampered with by the restaurant and then they get it all boxed up and ready to go.
“We obviously can’t spike the food 'cause there are kids,” Aaron explains to Dan. “So we need to find another way to alert Spencer that there is a raid coming…”
Just then he picks up a red Sharpie marker and writes on the lid of the chicken box. “New management, open until 3 AM tonight!!” He underlines it a few times and then repeats it on the boxes for the corn and mashed potatoes and biscuits. Spencer has to see it somewhere.
Aaron and Derek are so positive that Spencer can find a way to prepare for the raid inside and figure out a way to get the women and children out of harm's way when Derek, Dave and Dan come crashing through the doors. He’s not going, he has to stay back with JJ and oversee the whole operation. He hates it. But it’s his job.
Derek and Dave go up to the ranch to deliver the food and just as there’s a commotion at the door and everyone is busy at the ranch, the parabolic mikes pick up Y/N’s voice.
“AARON!” Dan yells for him from outside, causing him to rush down to him.
“What?” He fears for the worst.
“it’s Y/N, she’s listening to the blinds with her high-heeled boot and we can hear her, listen,” he hands him the headphones.
“If you can hear me, I know you’re coming. I can try to get the women and children down to the tunnel but I need to know when you’re coming.”
She keeps repeating those two sentences over and over.
“come on,” Aaron gets up, grabs a riffle with a laser scope and they head to the hill closest to the ranch. Dan follows behind him with the transmitter, listening in on what Y/N’s saying still.
He points the gun right at the window and she sees the laser shine against the wall in the room she’s trapped in.
“I got you, what time are you coming in?”
He blinks the laser 3 times.
“3 am?”
He keeps the beam steady and nods the gun, up and down, as if he’s nodding yes.
“Got it. Reid is on the first floor somewhere with Cyrus, and please remember there are children here... someone's coming,” she’s quick to pull her foot away from the window and they lose signal with her.
Dan starts to retreat, leaving Hotch there with the gun and a hopeful feeling. “Hang in there, sweetheart.”
At 2:15 AM they start preparing for the raid. Swat is called in, they’ve got a supply of Humvees supplied by the army, weapons, ammunition, and tear gas. They’re ready to go. All without Aaron.
Aaron has his headset on and his radio with him, listening in on the Sect while also in contact with the team as they make their way closer to the ranch.
They know somethings up, that somethings coming… they should’ve cut the lights to the Humvees and gone in there blind.
Cyrus heads outside of the chapel, points his gun in the air and starts shooting the sky, gathering attention from the media just over the hill. He wants them to see how this all goes down.
Luckily, Cyrus just doesn’t know how much they know. When Derek met with the previous leader, Kane, he drew them a map of the whole facility. Secret tunnels, bunkers, you name it, they know where it is. So that’s where they go in.
On the radio he hears Dan give the go-ahead for phase one, the men storm the tunnel exit and surprise the guard down there with flash grenades and tear gas, subduing him. The men force their way inside, they drag the guard to the corner and cuff him up so he can’t cause any trouble and within seconds, Derek is on the radio.
“Y/N’s here, she got the women and children down to the tunnels,” Derek alerts him. “I’m sending them out to you, Dan.”
“Ten-4, I have a vehicle ready to transport them to safety,” Dan responds.
“They’ve wired explosives,” Derek alerts through the radio. “We need to move, now!”
Aaron throws on a bulletproof vest then and starts to run out of the tent, “where are you going!?” JJ calls after him.
“to help get them as far away from the blast as possible this is an all-hands-on-deck situation!” He yells back and keeps running.
He runs as fast as he can, following the dimly lit dirt road up to the chapel, he can see the women and children running out of the tunnels and towards the front of the building. “Over here! This way!” He calls to them, “Over here! You need to get away from the building!”
“Aaron!” Y/N shouts, as the last one to leave the tunnel, she ushers the women and children towards him and hobbles along as fast as she can.
She runs right into his arms, and they both make an audible “oof,” as their chests collide but he holds her close. “You’re okay?”
“I’m okay,” she assures him, pulling back, she turns to face the others, “Keep moving, follow the lights, head to that tent back there!”
They usher them up the road, keeping them at a safe distance from the building, he rests his hand on her back and when she turns to him again, he uses his other hand to cradle her face. He can’t really see in the dark, but he can tell she’s all beaten and bruised, “are you sure—
“I’m fine, we need to go back in there, they have Spencer,” she worries, almost in tears. “It’s bad Aaron, the whole building is rigged to go, they have TNT and gas everywhere, in every hallway way, doorway, support beam… it’s going to go up like a fucking tinderbox.”
“Dereks got it,” he assures her. “They’ll be okay.” She doesn’t look like she believes him, so he pulls her in closer again and cradles her head. “It’s going to be okay.”
They hear a few shots then, followed by the chapel door flying open, Derek and Spencer come running out of the building, and Dave comes running out of the tunnel exit with Dan just as the building goes up in flames.
“Jesse,” Y/N whispers, shocked.
They rush to the building, running up the few concrete steps toward where Derek and Spencer were knocked down by the blast. Aaron picks up Derek, Y/N picks up Spencer and as a team, they retreat away from the fire. At a safe distance, they all stop, turn to the blaze and realize they made it. All of them.
Y/N pulls Spencer into her arms, breaking out in a sob, she crumbles. Her knees give way and Spencer does his best to keep her upright, Aaron steps in and supports her, and Derek too. “We did it,” Spencer whispers, “we’re okay.”
“We’re okay,” she repeats, absolutely exhausted from everything she’s been through.
“We need a medic!” Aaron calls, “Someone, please, get a stretcher over here!”
“I’m fine, I’m okay,” she tries to push them away, standing on her own two feet again but she’s wobbly.
“No, you’re not,” Aaron argues with her. “You got beat up, I heard it all. You’re not okay, I don’t care how strong you think you are you’re—
She reaches out and covers his mouth, “Stop yelling at me, my head is killing me.”
“Sorry,” he apologizes, wrapping his arm under her to support her, he helps her down the stairs just as the ambulance is pulling up to the church.
It doesn’t take long for both Y/N and Reid to get checked out by the paramedics. Spencer has some general ringing in his ear from being so close to a blast, and Y/N has a concussion and severe abdominal bruising. They don’t suspect any internal bleeding, but they advise her to have someone watch her all night and to go to the hospital if she feels sick or light-headed.
Derek offers to drive himself, Reid, Rossi and Y/N back to the hotel, JJ and Hotch just have to finish up a few things and then they’ll join, but she turns down Derek's request. “I’m going to stay with Aaron and JJ,” she whispers, not really wanting to talk unless she has to. “You guys head out, it’s okay.”
“Are you sure?” Spencer gives her his puppy dog eyes.
She nods, giving him a sweet smile, “Yeah, I don’t think I can handle Derek's driving right now.”
“Fair enough,” Rossi pats her shoulder, heading off after Derek.
“Okay,” Spencer understands the real reason why she isn’t going, he looks at her and then at Aaron. He’s not dumb. Far from it, actually. Of course, he knows there’s something going on between them… Aaron just wonders what it is on her side.
“Spence,” she stops him, pulls him in for another hug and holds him there. She whispers something in his ear, something Aaron can’t hear, but by the look on Spencer’s face, it’s sweet. When she pulls back, she speaks louder. “You come get me if you need anything, I mean anything… okay?”
“I will, thank you,” he smiles before turning away and heading off to the SUV.
She comes to sit beside Aaron after that, he’s filing out some paperwork about the supplies they used and Dan’s signing off on everything, too. JJ’s wrapping up from things on the phone with the state, and firefighters are now on the scene putting out the blaze… it’s a commotion, but he doesn’t care about anything other than Y/N.
He reaches out for her hand, under the table, he holds it and looks at her. Asking if she’s okay with just his eyes.
She nods, “I’m tired.”
“I can do the rest of this,” Dan offers.
“Yeah?”
He nods, “Yeah, you guys go get some rest, you’ve done more than enough for us.”
“Okay,” Aaron doesn’t fight it, he simply lets go of her hand and starts to stand up, helping her up too. “Come on, let’s get you out of here… JJ?”
She’s still on the phone but peaks her head over, asking what’s up with her facial expression.
“We’re heading out, come on.”
She holds up her finger, asking for just a second, which is good. It gives him a chance to pack up his things and help Y/N into the passenger seat of their SUV. JJ comes rushing over not 2 minutes later, the phone still pressed to her ear, she gets in the back seat and all they hear is “Thank you so much, half our team should be there in a few minutes, we’re about 30 minutes out… thank you, again, bye.”
“Good to go?” Aaron asks.
“Yeah, and I got us all hotels for tonight Rossi is alone, Derek is with Reid and I will partner with Hotch tonight so Y/N can be alone and—
She cuts JJ off. “I don’t want to be alone,” she says in a low tone. It hurts to talk. “Not with my concussion.”
“Oh,” JJ didn’t expect that. “Um, I guess we can be together, Hotch can be alone?”
She shakes her head, “No, mama you go be alone for the night, I’m sure you’re exhausted. You’ve done so much these last two days, Hotch can babysit me, make sure I don’t die in my sleep.”
“Don’t even joke about that,” he looks over at her, completely serious. “You’re okay, the paramedics said it’s not too serious, you’re going to be fine.”
“I was kidding,” she gives him a sweet smile.
It doesn’t take long for them to get to the hotel, they check in, they’re handed their room keys and off they go. The double rooms are on the same floor, they’re just across the hall from Derek and Spencer, JJ’s a floor above them and Rossi is on the top floor. He really doesn’t care how much money he spends, he always wants the best rooms.
He carries both their bags upstairs. He had someone go to her other hotel, the one she and Reid were sharing when they arrived, and get her things. He sets them all down on one of the beds and she just stands there, sore and tired. She looks like she wants to cry again. She’s bruising slowly, everything’s getting worse and darker in colour the more time passes.
“Are you okay?”
She nods, “Yeah… I just hurt all over.”
“I don’t want this to come off as weird, or anything,” he prefaces. “But do you need or want help changing? Do you want to take a bath? I can help you get in or out— I won’t look, I promise. I just want you to feel better.”
She laughs lightly, but it hurts to do that. “I don’t think I need help… but thank you.”
“You took such great care of me last month, I just want to repay the favour,” he gives her a small smile.
She takes a step towards him and wraps her arms around his middle, resting her head on his chest. He carefully holds her back, his cheek resting against her head. “I’m so glad you’re okay.”
“You need a lot more than a bomb to get rid of me,” she teases. He said the same thing in the hospital in New York.
He smiles, dragging his cheek across her hair until his lips are pressed to her head. He kisses her gently, “Come on, let’s get you ready for bed.”
She sighs as she pulls back, “Would it be weird to share a bed tonight? I really don’t want to be alone.”
“Not weird at all,” he assures her.
“Good,” she smiles.
He brings her over to the one bed that their bags are on, they each zip open their own bag and start digging for their things. She takes out her pyjama shirt and her shorts, her little bag of toiletries and her phone charger and then she remembers she doesn’t have a phone anymore. “I can’t believe that fucker blew up all my stuff.”
“We’ll get you a new phone when we get back tomorrow,” Aaron assures her. “Penelope knows to call me if anyone calls work looking for you.”
“Okay, good… I’m going to change in the bathroom first, I’ll call you if I need help?”
“Okay,” he agrees.
He takes the chance to change in the room, he slips out of his khakis and dress shirt and quickly replaces them with a new pair of boxers and a fresh white shirt. It's what he slept in beside her before… that was the best sleep he’s had in years. Even beside his ex-wife he never slept that good.
He heads over to the empty queen bed that their shit isn’t on and folds back the covers for them. He fluffs the pillows and even sets a complimentary bottle of water on each of their night tables, that’s when he remembers he still has medicine in his bag. She emerges from the bathroom soon after, all changed with a soft smile on her face. “Tada?”
“You look nice,” he compliments her. “I uh, I still have some medicine— the T3s…”
“Ooo,” she thinks about it. “I was just going to tough it out but that sounds like a much better option.”
“I just don’t like the idea of you hurting all night long, you’re supposed to be resting,” he reminds her, handing her the pill bottle once she’s closer to him. “There’s water on your side.”
She takes two of them, sets her water down and starts to get into the bed, Aaron stands at her side, watching as she hisses. “Are you okay?”
“Mhm,” she hums. “Getting punched and kicked in the gut sucked, I’m surprised I don’t have internal bleeding.”
His heart breaks even more, “I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay,” she waves it off. “Come get in bed.”
Before he does that, he flicks on the lamp on his side of the bed and heads back over to the door to turn off the main light. When he finally slips into bed, she reaches over for his hand and pulls him over so he can spoon her. She just wants to be held. He gently places his hand on her stomach, he doesn’t want to hurt her at all. She lets out a deep sigh, relaxing into his arms and waiting for the pills to kick in.
“I’m really glad they put you in charge of everything,” she whispers. “The second Rossi showed up in the church I knew we were going to be leaving okay.”
“You should’ve heard Morgan scream for me when the situation popped onto the news in the bullpen,” he recounts, still astounded by it himself. “I was just thinking about you when he called for me and then all the phones started going off and I knew we’d be the ones doing the rescuing.”
“You were thinking about me?” She repeats. “What were you thinking about me for?”
“Oh…” he feels suddenly embarrassed. “Just that it was weird not having breakfast together and I was thinking if you didn't drive to the airport, I would’ve driven you home.”
“Awe,” she swoons, she places her hand over his and interlocks their fingers. “We can get lunch together tomorrow after we land… before you take me back to the airport to get my car.”
“Sounds like a plan,” he whispers. “But we’ll have to take it to go…”
“Why?”
“I don't want anyone to think I did that to you,” he explains, a sick feeling in his throat at the mere thought of someone thinking he could hurt her.
“Oh, oh yeah,” she forgot. “Sorry, I’m starting to feel the medicine… if I fall asleep on you, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, go to sleep if you have to,” he assures her. “I’ll be right here all night if you need me.”
“Thank you, Aar,” she mumbles out, already slipping into her slumber. “Love… you.”
His heart skips a beat, he wants to say it back but he doesn’t know how much of that is just the medicine and him taking care of her and how much of it she really, truly means. He doesn’t want to risk it, so he just snuggles in closer, kisses the back of her shoulder and attempts to fall asleep with her.

IkeVamp HCs: Their Pregnant S/O Fighting
How do they react to their s/o fighting with someone while pregnant?
Suitors: Napoleon, Arthur, Theo, Jean
Tumblr media
Napoleon
Being four months pregnant did not mean Y/N would let anyone disrespect her emperor in her presence.
Napoleon's wife had joined him and Isaac at their little school, chatting away with a few of the children, who gazed at her with wonder- for her general beauty, and her cute round belly.
It was a bit tough for either Napoleon or Isaac to get the kids to concentrate when they kept insisting on touching Y/N and unfortunately for Isaac, he was on the receiving end of "Where do babies come from?", to the amusement of Napoleon.
However, the pleasant atmosphere didn't last as, when school was out, Napoleon was dealing with the angry mother of one of his students. He remained civil and calm, but the incensed woman kept poking him in the chest and getting in his face.
This of course, sat about as well with the emperor's wife as one would expect. Next thing anyone was aware of, Y/N was by his side, shoving the woman away from him.
"Don't put your hands on my husband! Apologize to him!"
"How dare you, who do you think you are?!"
The angry mother stepped forward again, only to get shoved back again by the expectant woman.
"I think I'm the one who's going to put you in the hospital if you don't apologize and leave right now."
Livid, the mother shoved Y/N right back, causing her to fall backwards. Napoleon moved like lightning, catching her with ease. He sent a reproachful glare to the woman, who stood frozen, as if shocked by her own actions.
"Isaac, keep an eye on Y/N."
Y/N reluctantly stayed by Isaac's side while Napoleon dealt with the woman until she left. Later, he took her in his arms, sighing as he lifted her head to lock eyes.
"Don't do that again, nunuche. You can't just get into fights with people. Not in your condition."
He felt a chill up his spine when he thought of what could've happened if she had actually fallen and he wasn't there. He instinctively pulled her closer to him, her head between his neck and shoulder.
He was touched that she had stood up for him, but the last thing he wanted was for her and his baby to be getting into any fights at all.
Arthur
Sometimes, his former flings just...didn't quit, even when he was married with a child on the way.
One such brazen woman had approached Arthur while his wife, who was 4 months along, was with him.
The sheer audacity of it- unabashed flirting with a married man in front of his pregnant wife?
Honestly...
Arthur had no time to rebuff her advances before his scandalized wife moved in front of him and confronted the little viper right there.
"Are you really so desperate you're going to pretend I'm not here, or are you stupid?"
The argument only got more heated from there, finally reaching a tipping point when the spiteful woman made mocking comments about Y/N's body, and even further by implying that she trapped Arthur using the baby.
Neither Arthur or the shameless troublemaker saw the slap coming. Y/N threw the fastest slap ever thrown and the other woman found herself suddenly looking the other direction, her cheek stinging.
Y/N for her part, was slightly red faced and teary eyed and was ready with another slap when the woman righted herself. And another. And another.
Arthur was too stunned at first to react, but he jumped into action when the former fling, infuriated, raised her hand to retaliate.
He caught her wrist in a second, his other arm coiling around his wife as he tugged her back towards him, his hand on her stomach protectively.
"Enough! You don't touch her! Y/N, come with me, darling."
Not wanting her to spend anymore energy on this, he maneuvered his upset wife out of there and somewhere more safe.
His heart ached when confronted with her pretty face flushed and streaked with tears of anger and humiliation. He gently wiped them away.
"Come on now, luv, please don't cry. It's alright..."
He pulled her into his chest as he rubbed her belly, his own pulse starting to slow. His heart had almost given out when he had seen the woman about to hit Y/N.
"Darling, please don't put yourself at risk like that. I can't stand anything happening to you...either of you."
He rubs circles on her stomach as he kisses her cheek.
Theo
Theo is used to dealing with L' Academie by now, but he was not expecting that his hondje would ever have to do so in her state.
And yet, he found himself in said position when one of them came to do their usual shenanigans, but this time, Y/N was with him.
Theo felt more exasperated than nervous, until his wife, four months pregnant with twins, stormed up to the man in the middle of whatever nonsense he was spouting and faced him head on.
"Can't you do anything other than bother him? Go find something to do!"
"It is the duty of L'Academie and he is nothing but an upstart allowing riff raff into the art world!"
Indignant, and hormonal at that, Y/N decided to put the man, and the Academie, in his place once and for all.
"How dare you, you don't get to decide what's art and what's not, my husband is better than any elitist highbrows and you know it, that's why you keep harrassing him! But I won't let you anymore, leave. My. Husband. Alone."
She punctuated her words with a slap so fast across the man's face that it makes her stumble a bit as she holds onto her stomach for balance. Theo had never moved so quick in his life, the second the man's eyes flashed with rage, the younger Van Gogh pulled Y/N to him, his hand on her stomach, both to keep her at bay and to just reassure himself that she was out of harm's way.
Y/N covered his hand with hers, both to reassure him she was alright, but also to show her solidarity to him.
"Don't even think about it. You won't like what happens if you try to hurt her."
The dark look in Theo's sky blue eyes, sends the man retreating wisely on his part.
Y/N was indeed scolded for her recklessness later, even if he thought she was the sweetest for it. She still put herself and the babies in danger. He hadn't liked the look in the man's eyes in the slightest.
"Hondje, what you just did? Never again, understand?"
He tugged her close to him, holding her from behind, resting his head against hers as he ran a hand over her swollen stomach, speaking softer.
"I don't want you in that position again, let alone while you're carrying my pups, got it?"
He wouldn't have known what he would have done if that man had dared to hurt her. Just that it wouldn't have been good.
Jean
The fact anyone had the audacity to attack or threaten a visibly pregnant woman sent a wave of distaste through him.
A customer was being difficult to Y/N who had been seated in the front of the shop while Jean was at the back of the weapon's shop so that Y/N was away from the weapons, because he was very wary of the sharp objects near his 4 month pregnant wife.
She had got up and confronted him alone before Jean could deal with him, pushing the rude man away herself, to the surprise of both men present.
"Get ahold of yourself, this is a place of business, not a schoolyard!"
"Why, I never!"
"Never what, learned proper manners? You don't come into my husband's shop and kick up a fuss, not on my watch!"
The man, galled, took a step forward threateningly, and that was all it took for Jean to immediately move from the other side of the shop to pull Y/N behind him.
His visible eye twinkled with something dangerous at the prospect that he was about to threaten Y/N.
"I suggest you keep your distance from this woman, lest I be forced to make you."
Nobody threatened his wife and child.
After the customer left with intimidation from Jean, the soldier turned to his wife, placing his hand on her stomach, searching her for any signs of distress.
Y/N placed her hands over Jean's on her round belly with a small smile, assuring him she was fine but Jean shook his head.
"If there is a problem like that again, let me handle it. That was dangerous."
Brave as it was that she faced the man alone, he would prefer that she be safe, after all, who knows what he would have done to her, regardless of her delicate state.
His gloved fingers caress her belly as he remains diligently beside her the remainder of the day, just to make sure she remained unharmed and unbothered.

Reddit once again delivers a really nice write-up about lore.
The Man in the Wall is Weak to Love
"The opposite of love is not hate; it is indifference."
- Elie Wiesel
The Man in the Wall is defeated, unironically, by the power of love. His goons are called "The Indifference", which is neither love nor hate, but rather a lack of feeling altogether. Let me break down the theory.
Albrecht was afraid of telling Loid how much he loved him, but this was more a symptom of his rigid Orokin upbringing than him being aware of the Man's weakness. Loid also was bitter over never hearing Albrecht say "I love you" ("I could never say to him the words he so needed to hear"). When the Man uses Albrecht's vessel to attack the Lab, only an act of love, a gentle caress of the face, repels him. This caress is the very same one Albrecht performed to Loid before he left; this makes Loid remember and understand just how much Albrecht loved him.
The Grimoire's final page is a love letter from Albrecht to Loid, and it is poison to the Man. He tries to get the page from the Tenno so that the Grimoire can't be completed because he knows that it is the one thing right now that can hinder his efforts. During Netracell missions, destroying the Man's minibosses (like the Mocking Whisper) will trap them within the Grimoire. Tagfer says that the Grimoire is a "predator", which could mean many things:
Love is depicted as not exactly positive in many mediums. In the Green Lantern series, Love is represented by an animalistic dragon entity called "The Predator". The Greeks depicted Eros using a bow and arrow as his weapon because they felt that love was "violent, all-consuming, it strikes you suddenly and drives you mad". In fact "Eros", or romantic love, was seen as a sickness or madness that plays a major part in Greek stories (and we know Warframe loves Greek roots, looking at Duviri). The Void itself is also a madness; perhaps Love is the counter-madness?
Additionally, Tagfer is currently suffering the loss of his mate Minn, who he loved very much. Albrecht was perhaps starting to realize that love is the cure for the Man in the Wall, and sent in Minn as an experiment to see if Tagfer's love would protect her or have some kind of effect. It could also be that Minn was targeted specifically by the Void because Tagfer loved her so much.
Albrecht never told his daughter Euleria (a.k.a Mother) how much he loved her, and they both suffered for it. His lack of outwardly-expressed love made him very vulnerable to the Void, so much so that he swore off of Kuva entirely because he was afraid that the Man had replaced him completely without him knowing.
In Duviri, it is love that cures the Void madness. The Drifter expresses empathy and kindness to Thrax, and this calms him down enough to stabilize the time loop and allow them to escape. Thrax is the Drifter themselves; by forgiving themselves and accepting what happened and loving themselves anyway, they are able to dissolve the Void trap keeping them in Duviri.
The Lotus' love shields the Tenno from the Man's escape at the end of The New War, despite the Void being literal poison to her Sentient body, she survives. The Man and a form of Albrecht are plucking the petals off of a lotus flower at the end of Whispers in the Walls, implying that they are going to target the Lotus herself and remove her love-protection from the Tenno.
Teshin loves the Tenno like they are his own children, just like the Lotus, and it is this love that enables him to survive and continue to assist the Tenno across The War Within, The Sacrifice, and The Duviri Paradox.
In the Zariman Incident, the parents of the children are driven mad by the Void and turned against their own offspring. Who loves more than a parent loves their child? The Void/the Man is aware of how powerful love is, especially when used against him, and seeks to turn it against people at any given opportunity before they wisen up and start to weaponize it.
In conclusion, love is the opposing force to Void energy.
