I think we should just bring back Wungo Wednesday and start a fandom collective anime rewatch
#Because otherwise I can feel I won't last much longer#Because like. The last two hyperfixations of mine ended the moment I started feeling like there wasn't any new content#And two days ago in one day I started a new manga a new book and rewatching a favourite show#Whereas I hadn't started anything new in the two years ever since I got into bsd. Which makes it NOT a good sign#But the bsd anime has now ended for one month and 25 days and that's the last time the plot actually moved forward.#And if I counted right. The manga took 4 chapters (that is chapters 110-111) to adapt 6 minutes#That means it's going to take another 12 months (18 minutes left to adapt. that's 12 more chapters) to catch up with the anime#Yeah I'm not. sticking around this long with nothing new to see I'm sorry#Best case scenario I take a one year hiatus but that doesn't make it sound likely that I'll be back#And I know it's fresh news as early as this morning that author said they were introducing a new character but like.#They also said they finished writing this arc like. One year and half ago if I remember correctly?#And we still have yet to see the end of i t so...#That is to say. I'll probably be starting an anime rewatch starting next Wednesday. I've been meaning to do it for a while anyway#I don't want to leave the fandom I like the one chapter a month format#On the positive news I still have a queue of original posts that spans over ten months#And I was meaning to start the reblogs queue too in these days. So there's that#random rambles

HANG OUT WITH THEM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i. part two: hang out with these characters (part one)
ii. gender neutral. reader | unedited version (lmk if I used any gendered terms!)
iii. cw: spoilers in manga (chrollo's part), mentions of death, massacre/slaughter, torture, trauma, and violence. stealing, fluff & semi-angst (?)
iv. characters: gon freecs, killua zoldyck, kurapika kurta, chrollo lucilfer, feitan portor.
Tumblr media
GON FREECS
You hang out with the boy a lot as the two of you develop a rapport with one another and grow closer. The two of you would often be perched on top of a tree branch as he casts his fishing line into the middle of a swamp. He would ask you questions about your past, how you lived in YorkNew City, and even about yourself constantly while he was fishing.
Talking to Gon is comforting, although he is extremely enthusiastic. You might find yourself baffled as to how he appears to be fulfilled while not harboring any unwelcome feelings or thoughts. But naturally, that wasn't the only thing. He would take you around the town's outskirts. And to pass the time if you were in his place, you two would play a variety of board games.
KILLUA ZOLDYCK
When Gon wasn't allowed to practice Nen for two months because of his injudicious decision of fighting Gido, you and Killua trained together without Nen because Killua don't want Gon to be left behind. Since neither of you was particularly talkative throughout your training session-unlike Gon, who frequently emits a lot of commotion when the three of you are together-it was really awkward and silent.
You're just reluctant to approach him because you two weren't really close. But even so, he would give you advice on how to grow more powerful and tell you about what you should concentrate on. As an outcome, the more you two trained together over the course of the two months, the closer you two grew.
The two of you are hardly alone together unless it involves training, combat, etc. The three of you traveled to Whale Island after leaving Heaven's Arena to meet Mito Freecs, Gon's aunt, and Abe, his great-grandmother. They were quite friendly to you, and his great-grandmother told you and Killua plenty of stories about Gon. Gon once left the two of you because his aunt asked him to go get some supplies she needed to prepare later.
You offered your assistance to Aunt Mito with the laundry. Killua was watching you as you washed the clothes since he isn't really sure how he can help you or do things like that. He would speak about his experiences and escapades as an experienced assassin, a member of the notorious Zoldyck family, and the future heir to the family to keep you entertained. However, it wasn't all that entertaining to hear about how he was actually tortured as a baby.
You also shared your stories with him when you were younger. Being from your typical family, you didn't find it particularly interesting. To your surprise, Killua laughed and thought you were humorous when you were younger because of both your foolishness and your intrepid nature. You attempted tossing him your left slippers, but he deftly sidestepped it. Indeed, the day was enjoyable.
KURAPIKA KURTA
(Prior to the massacre of the Kurta Clan)
He would come and see you in your leisure time and encourage you to read in the neighborhood library with him. You would undoubtedly concur that it is Kurapika after all. You two would sit side by side on the couch in the serene library, and before starting a new book, he would offer that you execute an exchange. For instance, he may recommend a book to you and vice versa.
The majority of the novels he read are far more serious than you may think. He always recommends history or biographies of philosophers who lived a century ago, as well as crime, mystery, and science fiction, works. Despite how much you like it, you feel a little ashamed about the works you're recommending to him since they seem so plain to him. [Unless you have the same taste w/ him]
Most of your hangouts are just solitude and calm, but you like that tranquility. Along with Pairo, the three of you are going to stay in the forest as you three would for an adventurous hangout. You would capture fish or other creatures that are suitable for human consumption.
(After the massacre of the Kurta Clan)
You feel much closer to your childhood friend now that you've seen him again. He lost his positive outlook since, as you are aware, criminals killed the members of his clan. If you were in his position, you wouldn't have any optimism at all. Therefore, you are always at his side to lessen his sense of isolation and provide him with emotional support. A conversation with him may be quite intense and passionate. He would often speak to you late at night about his unsaid emotions, his grief, his trauma, his enmity, and the survivor's guilt.
He's still a huge book nerd, so you two would borrow books from the local library and read them together while relaxing in the calm setting. You are just brought back to the past by it.
CHROLLO LUCILFER
(When you were still living in Meteor City)
Chrollo introduced you to Father Lisores, the owner of the church that you saw. (First chapter) And now, you're affiliated with him because you look like you're on the verge of death and he pities you. In exchange for your assistance with his charitable endeavors and your assistance each time there is a mass for children and other Meteor City residents, he provides you with a place to live, food, and other requirements.
Furthermore, you got to know some of Chrollo's friends. They all treated you well, but Chrollo is the one you get along with the best. Despite the difficulties of his life, he is bursting with positive energy. He frequently stops by the church and enjoys bringing you unusual items.
Most of your time together would be spent in the church's rear chamber, where he would show you other items and instruct you in speaking Gelman. (In the universe of Hunter x Hunter, probably English). His discoveries and his astute thinking never fail to captivate you. He frequently blushes when you praise him, but in all honesty, he kind of craves it since he wants to impress you.
Chrollo requested you, Sarasa, and Pakunoda to voice dub a Mighty Sweepin' Power Cleaners VHS tape into your mother tongue so that the kids in Meteor City could watch and understand the episode. It gave you an immense thrill to voice-dub the role that was given to you, and it warmed your heart to see the children moved and enthralled.
(Phantom Troupe / After the slaughter of Kurta Clan)
After Sarasa's death, Phantom Troupe was established with the intention of exacting retribution. You presently hold the fourth rank and are a member of the Phantom Troupe, a group of malevolent thieves. You two don't spend much time together since Chrollo is so busy keeping up his leadership role, looking for items that can be of great use to the group, or if he wants to steal a particular item. In fact, it only happens once in a blue moon.
But you can't blame him after all. Though when all of you are gathered up for a meeting, he would give you pieces of jewelry, books, and others that you love, which you presumably think that he stole, it feels nice that he's thinking about you.
While waiting for the remainder of the members to arrive, you would speak with them about significant topics and share what you had learned from your mission. His responses to you are brief since he is still engaged with the book he is reading. You feel sort of sad about it but chose to not complain.
FEITAN PORTOR
While the troupe was in York New, he would pay you many visits at the gaming shop where you work, and would practically gaze at you as if you were a ghost or something - well, he's waiting for you to end your shift. You can't concentrate on your work due to his scary glances, and he physically stares at everyone that walks into the shop.
You would advise him to cease doing that after your shift, but he would act unaware even though he understood what you meant. You two would saunter through the Saloma Mall, only glancing at the merchandise in the storefront windows, not bothering to go inside because you're saving up your money.
But there was a time when you spotted a bracelet that piqued your curiosity, but it was so pricey that your wage wasn't sufficient to pay for it. Feitan was aware of this but remained silent. After dropping you off at your flat, he goes to the shop where you spotted the bracelet you like and snatches it violently.
He handed you the bracelet the next day. Unaware that he had stolen it, you were perplexed by how he was able to purchase it. When you questioned about how he was able to afford it, he just said that they were confidential.
Feitan isn't a particularly chatty person, and neither are you, but whenever he comes to see you while you're at work, you strike up a conversation with him, and honestly, talking to him is much more comfortable than talking to other people because he's direct and doesn't sugarcoat his words, which is what you like best.
He just listens to your rambling while paying attention to what you're saying, but he obviously won't be overt about it. The two of you would play video games in your flat after your shift. Because he has a strong sense of competition, he usually defeats you. He constantly invited Phinks and Shalnark as well.

Tagged by @bagadew (Also tagging in @waermeflasche because you tagged me weeks ago and I didn't get back to you)
Last song I listened to: Soap by The Oh Hellos. I burn CDs and listen to them in my car. (The first few I tried to give themes and titles, and select the perfect song orders, but ended up kind of bad and the other was cursed and wouldn't play even though I remade it three times, so I just switched to throwing a ton of songs together on "Random Mixes" and enjoying.) I was listening to my very first random mix on the drive home from work and this one came up. It's a pretty snazzy song. I think Theseus and Hello, My Old Heart are my favourites from the band.
Last book I read: Can I do a couple? I just recently finished Play of Shadows by Sebastien de Castell. It's the first book of Court of Shadows, the sequel series to his Greatcoats series. Greatcoats is one of my favourite series, filled with swashbuckling action, clever humour, and an absolutely miserable protagonist, Falcio val Mond, who always manages to get back up and keep going anyway. I read everything de Castell writes, and after a string of books with severe pacing problems (check out The Malevolent Seven for a book that doesn't have a second act) and other problems (I have a hard time seeing any book topping Crucible of Chaos as the worst book I've read this year), he finally seems to be back. The book didn't pack quite the emotional punch of some of his other books, but it definitely made me want to jump up and cheer for the heroes at the end.
The other book I just finished is The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden. I liked her Winternight Trilogy (look it up and be prepared for some absolutely gorgeous covers, with prose to match), so I was excited to see something new from her. This book was about World War I, with some fantasy elements used for magic realism. (Portraying a soldier's struggle with addiction and PTSD through the lens of him losing his soul to the devil was a brilliant idea.) I most subsist on a steady diet of fantasy books, but this one had me hungering to read a few more historical books. I might have to pick up some books about the Halifax Explosion.
Last film I watched: I haven't watched much on my own for a while, but my friends do a movie night every Sunday. The last two times I tuned in, we watched Jesus Christ Superstar and Pokemon 3: Spell of the Unown. They were both fairly cute movies. I liked Judas's actor.
Last TV series I watched: I've been making my way through The Office for the first time. I'm on Season 3 and this happened to me, actually. There was some stuff I was like, "Wow, that was funny. I should tell my coworkers about it," but then I realized that I can't be the guy who tells his coworkers about this funny new show called The Office.
Last video game I played: If visual novels count, Umineko. I've been working my way through it slowly for about five and a half years and I'm finally closing in on the end. It's peak fiction and the greatest love story of the twentieth century. It's also funny I picked a game this insanely long for my first visual novel. Other than visual novels, I just finished Pokemon Legends: Arceus, after putting in 104 hours this year. Completing the Dex is my favourite part of any Pokemon game, so having it be more involved and include a big checklist made the game basically crack for me. I've also been casually playing some Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005) with my brother. Every time we play it, I'm always amazed by how good it is and how much content it has. I want to take command posts forever.
Last thing I googled: "Dandadan Aira". I just started the manga the other day and I like her best, so I wanted to double check her full name, I think? Other than that I'm mostly looking up when books are available at my local stores. I've been religiously checking when The Book that Broke the World will be available and I'm not even sure if I'm buying it.
Last thing I ate: A few snacks from my snack drawer. I also had a Quaker yogurt bar at work. I bought a big box of them last year, but I had to throw them out because of the Salmonella. (Chewed through a lot of them before that came out, though, including eating three on an airplane.)
Amount of sleep: Supposedly seven hours, since I went to bed right after finishing The Warm Hands of Ghosts last night. The only problem is that if I get to bed at a good time, I sleep fitfully, so I'm either sleeping poorly or sleeping well, but not getting anywhere near enough sleep.
Currently reading: I started Empire of Silence, the first book of The Sun Eater by Christopher Ruocchio, at work today. I've had the first three books sitting on my shelf for a year or two and I finally got around to starting it. (I'd resolved to do both this series and Kushiel's Legacy this year, after having both for so long, and I got that one done at the start.) I'm not very far in, but I enjoy the writing style a lot, even if a lot of the worldbuilding is obviously cribbed from Dune. (Whoa, look, mentats.) I've heard it picks up a lot in the second book, so I'm excited for what's in store for me.
Passing this on, I'll tag @somerunner @lyssq @soulsinshadow @lunawithsocks and @dancerladyaqua. (They also have currently watching and sweet, salty, or savoury as questions, which I didn't do.)

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐑𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆... the long wait that you had to endure, desprately hoping your husband was alright. he was simply an executioner, nothing more—nothing less. his job was important to him, you know that and respect it despite it being such a mentally taxing job. you always wonder what swims through his head in those moments. sure— most of them were 100% criminals, but sometimes they had families. the death penalty was something handed out by the people in power. they could simply choose if you were guilty or not, and you would be sent to have a sword sliced through your next. you always wonder what its like—listening to people's dying words. at least with his technique they'd die quickly, it wasn't terrible, right?
but he's only an executioner. he shouldn't be observating criminals on some mysterious island. one where men go missing for months—even years! only to return a deformed pile of flowers.
he's only an executioner, one with a wife at that, so why...why did he have to go? an anxious feeling in your stomach when he told you he was leaving. "it will be alright, love. i promise," his soothing voice managed to calm you down in that moment. your cheek resting against his calloused hand, rough from many years of training and wielding a sword. his thumb softly brushed against your cheek as he promised you he'd return. he'd keep his word, that was the type of man shion was. he promised it was only for supposed to be a short trip. but the longer you didn't hear the familar sound of your sliding door—the more worried you became.
it had been far too long for a "short operation." you worried it would be him being sent back with flowers sprouting from his body. because you need him. not in the traditional "a woman needs a man for a family," or "you need a husband to work." you need shion for your own mental wellbeing. he couldn't see you, no— his eyesight had been stolen long ago. and yet, he described you as if you were the sun. he spoke to you that nothing could rival your beautiful. his terrible jokes were the highlight of your day! and you'd laugh at them no matter how despicablely awkward or horrible it was. he'd help out with housework as best he could, he'd praise and kiss you, treating you as if you were glass. his presence would always brighten your day, he was the pillar upholding your emotional and mental wellbeing.
the days had turned too long, and you feared you'd never see his face again. the only thing keeping you sane was his promise, but even your friends had given up. "without bearing a son, such a shame" you'd hear as if you weren't a grieving widow. your father had even arranged for another husband for you. but you held hope, perhaps because you were grieving. you were stuck in the stage of denial.
and perhaps you were starting to hallucinate. the sound of the woode sliding could be a noise outside, or perhaps it was your father? there was a familiar grumble, but perhaps you were thinking too hard, manefesting his voice. perhaps you were— then the sound of your name rung in the air. setting down the book you had been re-reading, you turn around, facing the door to meet the voice with shock. your eyes took in the familar sight of spiky silver hair, a horizontal scar going through the mans eyes, and two scars on each of his eyes. although, a new one adorned his skin, a horizontal scar that stretched along the front of his neck. his normal asaemon uniform was disgarded, replaced with a black shinobi robe? one with matches pants, gaiters, gauntlets, sandals, and a white tasukito hold his sleeves. it was strange seeing him in such drastically different clothing, but regardless, your husband had come home.
"shion?" a smile graces his face at the sound of your soft voice. he whispers your name with a smile, a soft expression displayed upon his face. you turn fully and slowly get up, walking hesitantly towards him as if you thought you had really lost it— if this was just a dream, or a ghost standing in front of you. your hands gently cup his face, fingertips gently touching his scars that are committed to your memory. "oh," a sigh of relief leaves your lips as you touch him, tears swelling in your eyes.
you jump to wrap your arms around him, to kiss him before he flinches, stepping back— keeping you at an arms distance. a surprised and somewhat hurt expression is displayed on your face. although, before you get a word out his nervously waves his hands in front of him, apologizing for his sudden action. "ah— im afraid im a bit...dirty, at the moment. i will visit the bath house, but i— i needed to see you first."
"oh," you say with a slight chuckle. bending down you grab a small stack of clothing, his clothing. you'd keep his robes next to you if he needed to bathe when he returns, it seems you were right. you hand him the stack. "well, im glad i prepared your robes." he smiles at your actions. "thank you," he bows respectfully, taking the stack. he wishes he could touch you, hug and kiss you in thanks for waiting for him. however, he wouldn't want to subject you to the hellish grime that was present on the island. a traumatizing experience, but he's made it back to you— that's the important part.
you have to admit, seeing him leave so soon after he'd returned made you sad. of course it was only to the bath house, but he felt so far. you anxiously fiddled with the obi tied around your kimono, waiting for him to return anxiously. and as if he could hear your thoughts he turned to corner, stepping back into your shared bedroom.
the familar informal black half-coat draped on his shoulders made you smile. he pulled on his obi before he sat beside you on your futon. his hand gently cups your cheek, you leaning into his familiar warmth. "i should apologize for my incorrect words. it seems it took much longer than i thought," shion speaks softly and leans in to kiss under your eyes as if he could see tears were to spill from your eyes, "thank you for waiting."
"i'd wait as long as i need to," you immediately respond to him. you eyes roam his face and neck, wondering how he gained the scar on his throat—although you don't ask. but— oh how you terribly missed him. how you missed his warmth and the sound of his calming voice. you long for his touch, burying your face his hands. he knew you longed for him, after all, he was gone for an abnormal amount of time than either of you were used to. and he could read your mind. he could tell what you were thinking about as you staree at him. despite not being able to see your face, he could always tell what you were thinking, even more so now after the full experience of tan. you watched him lean in closer to you. his lips lightly press against yours. the warmth you've missed returns to you as you feel and accept it. as you feel him.
you feel his rough, calloused hands slide down to your neck. his thumb brushes against your jaw. shion pulls away from the kiss, and as if he could see you, he smiles softly— his eyelids closed per usual. "you are so breathtaking, my love." you smile, and playfully roll your eyes. "as if you could actually tell."
the frown the becomes displayed on his face was adorable. it was as if a child had been told something negative about their favorite toy. "i feel that you are. and if i could see you, i assure you i'd faint!" shion accentuates his words, trying to make you laugh with another one of his dry jokes. "really?" you question him almost sarcastically, playing along with his light-hearted tone. shion sighs, shaking his head as if he's in true disappointment. "if you do not believe it, perhaps i will have to show you?" he whispers with raised eyebrows, leaning in close to you. "and how—exactly will you do this?"
shion smiles, his hands slides further down onto his neck. you feel his pinkie slide under the fabric of your layered kimono. "in a way where i can fully see with my hands," he mumbles against your soft lips, his other hand working to undo the obi tied around your midsection. a grumble leaves his lips at the accessive layers covering your body, however it'd be worth it when he fully felt the warmth of you.
you move forward to press your lips against his, and almost immediately his lips part, accepting your tongue. it had been so long since either of you had felt eachother's tongues, eachother's body— since you'd felt eachother's souls through passionate love.
he releases a greatful sigh into your lips when he touches the fabric of your nagajuban, pushing it aside quickly to touch your skin. "i have a feeling you've missed me," you mumble, feeling shion smile into the kiss. "you've missed me too, haven't you?" you hum, unable to argue against his rebuttal. you feel him lean forward as you fall backwards, letting him set down on the futon. the cloth touches the bare skin of your back as the last of the fabric is removed from your body by the man above you.
shion feels your hands touch his neck, sliding down to his shoulders to push the robe off of him. "one moment, my love," he mumbles, giving you a quick peck before he sits up, taking off each peice of fabric.
a part of him feels bad, you'd prepared these clothes for him—only for him to strip himself of them minutes later. although, the thought is thrown from his mind at the feeling of your hand gliding down his chest. "someone's quite eager for a touch?" he grins, earning a playfull push to his shoulder. "of course." he chuckles, leaning back down to give you a series of soft and meaningful kisses, touching you lightly, tracing his fingertips along your skin—he knew exactly what he want doing. it'd seem he hadn't forgotten exactly how your body worked after his dreadful trip to "paradise."
a satisfied sigh leaves your lips at his touches. "i've missed you." your words fill his ears as his lips trail from yours to your neck. you hear him mumble some variation of 'as do i' but he's bit entrapped in the feeling your body. his lips follow the valley of your breasts down the fat of your stomach, his teeth grazing the pudge above your vagina. "so beautiful," he mumbles against your skin. he whispers praises as he presses his lips along your skin.
he smiles as his lips touch the fine hairs on your skin. his fingers lightly trace your hip dips, squeezing the fat of your thighs when he touches them. his lips are level with your clit, but he opts to kiss around your pussy— kissing your inner thighs and outer lips. at ever kiss and touch— it feels electrifying. your inner thighs jolt at evey touch, although you feel yourself melting from it. his touch feels the a warm flame hovering over your skin, spreading heat throughout your body, causing your insides to feel warm— specially between your thighs. and you are aware shion grins, he can't see your reaction but his sense of smell is keen, and he's used to your body's reactions.
when his lips finally press against your clit, you jolt. the area hasn't been touched in quite a while, you were no doubt sensitive. his slow and soft movements seemed to entice a stronger reaction from you. his lips hover of your waiting pussy. "may i?" he questions, lifting his head up to show he's focusing on your response. "y-yes. you may..." he smiles at the mumble you let out. in response he utters a 'thank you' before he slides his tongue in between your inner folds— licking a stripe between them, collecting your slick on his tongue. he licks his lips at the taste of you. opting for more, he continues the movements of his tongue—sliding the tip of his tongue inside of you. a small smile spreads across his face at the whines you let slip. he could tell you were embarrassed, you always were embarrassed with your sounds—however, he always managed to pull them out of you by the end of the night.
"shion," his name left your lips in a soft cry. one of his fingers tease your entrance— his lips wrapped around your clit, sucking softly. "yes?" he smiles carefully sliding his thick finger inside of you, a small squelch produced as he does. his finger lightly curls inside of you, earning a loud whimper.
"yes, my love?" shion questions, roughly licking a stripe up your clit. "is this to your satisfaction?" his voice remains soft as ot reaches your ears, not a hint of a condescending tone or anything like that. you force out a word, aware he can't see you nod. "y—es!" he chuckles lightly, his breath against you causing you to shudder. "alright," you hear him mumble before his lips go back to work. his finger slides in and out of you, curling when it's pushed to the hilt. you feel him purposefully missing the spot that could have you cumming in seconds. shion knows where it is, however, he doesn't press there— his fingers only torturously brush against it.
"a-ah! mm, shion.." your whines are all music to his ears, "ngh! o-oh, please!" depsite how against he is on the topic of you crying, he'll accept just this once. he'll stuff another of his fingers inside of you, purposefully curling and pressing harshly against the gooey ribbee spot inside of you. he'll suck harshly on your clit as he does, a smile on his face when your hips jolt. they lift off up the bed as your thighs shake, and the strangled moan you release makes it much better. he'll lick up your release, refusing to waste any as he slurps and drinks it all up. he'll lick his lips and smile— he'd sit up and carefully wipe your tears from your cheeks with an estimation. "are you alright? can i continue?"
you sniff, sucking in a breath. you feverishly nod, eager to continue to feel his touch— the pleasure he gives you. his unsoiled hand, ups your face. "i need words, pretty baby." you simply whine at how soft his voice is, whenever it comes to you he's as gentle as can be.
another sniffle leaves your body as you collect yourself, mustering up a word. "ye...yes." you manage to whisper, glossy eyes catching the way he softly smiles at you. "thank you," he whispers, his unsoiled hand sliding down down your face and to your arm. he gently grabs your hand, lifting to his lips as he sits up. "oh, how I've missed you..." his lips kiss each and every finger, his hand turning yours so can press a kiss to your palm. "your soft skin, your voice, your touch. i've missed you so much," he whisper softly to you, leaning down as your arm slides against his shoulder— you take the liberty to tug on the little hairs above his nape, smiling at his words.
"i've— ah... i've missed you too," you whisper back to him, allowing his lips touch yours, tasting yourself of his tongue. his body is pressed against yours as you feel something press against your sensitive entrance. as he slowly presses in, you moan loudly, legs trembling. you suddenly feel just how much you've longed to feel his body against yours as you cling to him. "perhaps we should finally make the family you've been longing for?"
you chuckle, nodding happily. "yes! please..." his hips connect to yours as he holds you tenderly. his lips kiss your neck as he lets you adjust. "may i move?" he whispers, smiling at your eager 'mhm!'
the feeling of his cock sliding out of you was magical. your eyes roll as you blink, trying to keep sane from only the drag of his cock. "ah!" you tell as he slams back into you. his cock stretching you in a way you haven't felt in such a long time. you felt as if you could feel every vein and curve of him, your hands secured on his back. his strokes are slow and sensual, providing you with the pleasure and love he feels— there being no shortage of his soft words in your ears. whiny 'i love you's leave your lips. his soft huffs and grunts fill the room, paired with your sweet whines. "oh, you feel amazing," he voice is soft and breathy. "i really should give you a child of mine to bare—"
eager 'mhm!'s leave your lips as your thighs shake, his thrusts getting a bit rougher. the more you felt him, the more you longed for a child. one identical to him if possibe. "oh! ugh..." the coil in your stomach started to tighten, the anticipating feeling spreading to your inner thighs. "ang—ngh! a-ah there! right there! don't stop!" you shout, unapologetically digging your nails into the skin of his back.
shion pants with a smile, keeping the same pace and force he has— he grits his teeth at the pain of your nails, but he cannot deny the loves the feeling.
if you could keep your eyes open, you could recognize how desirable he looked. his cheeks are red, the tips of his ears following suit. his jaw was clenched, and his lips were parted in desire. you wished you could see his eyes. wished you could've seen what would be in them. although, as your eyes cross and your head falls back, all thoughts leave your head. only him. only your husband and his cock inside of you. your thighs shake as the coil snaps, you cream on his cock. at the same time shion grunts, filling you to the brim with his cum.
he carefully rests his forehead against yours, the two of you panting in tandem. shion swallows, his jaw feathering. "one more time. one more time and i'll be sure we're getting a present in a few months." you chuckle along with him, slightly nodding.
"yes. more!"

My Favorite New Manga Reads of 2023
For the past few years on twitter, I've made threads of some of my favorite manga and light novel reads from the past year. This year, I decided I would move it over to two tumblr posts.
After the cut are some of my favorite titles that I picked up for the first time in 2023.
Talk to My Back, Yamada Murasaki
I like to pick up something a little more unusual at least once a year and so at the beginning of this year, I picked up this 1980s alt-manga title about the life of a Tokyo housewife played out in short vignettes. It's a frustrating read because of how real it feels and how much it feels like things haven't changed as much in the last 40 years as I'd like, but it's all the more fascinating for it. The essay at the end discussing Yamada Murasaki's work and placing it in context was a nice bonus too.
When a Cat Faces West, Yuki Urushibara
I love Yuki Urushibara's Mushishi (slow though I have been to actually finish it), so when Kodansha announced a license for Urushibara's much shorter series, I was there for it. It has a cool concept - there are areas of "flow" that will pop up out of nowhere and shift people and places out of time and space and one guy has tasked himself with helping people fix issues caused by it - but mostly it feels like Mushishi but set in the present day. I love a series that's just vibes all the way down.
Skip and Loafer, Misaki Takamatsu
I was absolutely smitten with the Skip and Loafer anime, so when it ended with what felt like a pretty definitive "we are not making a second season of this" final episode, I started the manga. A high school slice of life series lives by its characters and Mitsumi is the more adorable dork ever. The other characters are equally delightful, even when I don't necessarily like them, and I'm so eager to dive deeper into their lives.
Associate Professor Akira Takatsuki's Conjecture (light novel), Mikage Sawamura
This series feels a bit like what you'd get if you crossed The Case Files of Jeweler Richard and The Night Beyond the Tricornered Window: a college student with a supernatural ability to hear lies that alienates him from everyone meets a folklore professor with a mysterious past fascinated by mysteries, and together they investigate possibly-supernatural events. It's a bit silly, but the relationship between the leads is interesting and there's a lot of fun urban legends in the mix. There's also a manga adaptation that I haven't yet picked up, but maybe one day...
March Comes in Like a Lion, Chica Umino
I was curious about this one from the second Denpa announced the license just because of how much I'd heard about the series for years now, and it did not disappoint. I love a good story about a depressed and lonely teenage boy sublimating his feelings into an obsession with a uniquely Japanese pastime, especially when there's so many people around him wanting to help him stop being alone. Now I just wish that the release wasn't quite as slow as it has been, even if I know the many reasons why...though at least I still have the anime to rewatch while I wait.
Don't Call It Mystery, Yumi Tamura
After reading Basara and Wild Com, I was eager to get my hands on a newer series by Yumi Tamura, and the fact that it's a modern-day non-fantasy series made it all the more interesting. Totonou's incessant observations about the things going on around him are delightful, especially when they lead him straight into all kinds of dangers or even just leave everyone around him wishing he'd stop talking for about five seconds. I just want to pat him on the head and ask him to make me some curry.
After the Rain, Jun Mayuzuki
I got a card for the Japan Foundation's ebook library not too long ago, which has been great for picking up a lot of books that aren't available in my local library's collection, including this series. I had heard about it but was a bit hesitant because it's about a teenage girl who gets a crush on her much older boss...but hey, why not give it a try from the library? I'm glad I did because there was such a sweet relationship between them that ultimately helped them both out of the ruts they were in with their personal lives and dreams.
River's Edge, Kyoko Okazaki
I still can't decide if I actually enjoy Kyoko Okazaki's work or not, but I got a little closer to it with River's Edge. It's a harsh story about disaffected teenagers who find a dead body, but somehow it feels less depressing than the other works of hers I've read because they're teenagers and there's still the possibility that they can escape the lives that are dragging them down. I will say this - Okazaki's stories are never boring, whether I enjoy them or not.
Her, Tomoko Yamashita
I got a little overambitious this year and ordered the Italian release of a Tomoko Yamashita title I've been wanting to read for years. Can I read Italian? No. Did I think maybe I could figure it out kinda okay because I've studied French and Spanish? Yes. Did I end up reading everything through a translation app? Also yes. But this collection of interconnected stories about women and relationships was excellent despite the language barrier. I was thrilled to finally see the context for the kiss between a younger woman and an elderly woman that I so admired in Yamashita's 15th anniversary artbook, and its story was a touching exploration of what "normal" means. I would love to see this in English, but unfortunately I can't see it getting picked up.
Glitch, Shima Shinya
I was thrilled that Yen Press decided to pick up another title from Shima Shinya after Lost Lad London, and Glitch has been well worth my time. While it is a fantasy story about a town full of glitches in reality that I'm excited to see play out fully, what really caught my eye is the sheer amount of diversity in the characters - one of the leads is nonbinary, there are mixed race characters, there's a lesbian couple, etc. It's all part of the story but not in a didactic way, which I appreciate immensely. Shinya's art also makes me so happy, and I hope Yen continues to get more of their work.
Lilies and Voices Born Upon the Wind, Renmei
Speaking of diversity in characters, I enjoyed this series not only because it was a nice yuri with a motorcycle lesbian (always a bonus in my book, the motorcycle) but because it had some really thoughtful discussion of asexuality in multiple forms. I wish I could've gotten one of the printed copies that were available for purchase at one con, but alas.
Witch Hat Atelier Kitchen, Hiromi Sato & Kamome Shirahama
Did we really need a cooking series spinoff of Witch Hat Atelier? Probably not. Am I glad we got it in English anyway? Absolutely. This is basically an Olruggio/Qifrey slowburn domestic au fanfic and I adore it. And I love that they keep up the conceit about magical ingredients in each chapter's recipe, even though they are legit recipes you can actually make with the real ingredients recommended as substitutions. What Did You Eat Yesterday? but with witches, clearly an ideal combination.
Scribbles, Kaoru Mori
I am not actually a diehard fan of Kaoru Mori's work - I drifted away from A Bride's Story when I ran out of volumes at the library - but I do unabashedly adore her art. Scribbles is just perfect for me with its pages from her sketchbooks and her commentary about things like the ideal skirt tightness. I bought this in hardcover and all and will continue to get the other volumes in hardcover even though I almost always get Yen Press titles digitally because it's so much cheaper that way, that's how much I like it.
Innocent, Shin'ichi Sakamoto
I've had my eye on Shin'ichi Sakamoto's work for a while because I saw a bunch of panels from Innocent on here and fell in love with the art. What I did not expect was that the violently erotic story about a French executioner would actually get an English license. It's gorgeous and violent and weird and I am so here for it. Now, if I could just be sure that Dark Horse actually plans on releasing the whole thing...
Barbarities, Tsuta Suzuki
Much like with Innocent, I saw panels from Barbarities on here ages ago and wished I could read it without much hope, given the lack of other licenses for Tsuta Suzuki's bl since SuBLime's relicense of A Strange & Mystifying Story ages ago. But thankfully I am getting to read this nebulously historical drama with all of its social machinations and pretty men getting flustered by other flirtatious pretty men. And such nice clothes!
A Home Far Away, Teki Yatsuda
Kuma really gets some stellar licenses and A Home Far Away was especially good. Set in 1990s America, it reminded me of nothing so much as My Own Private Idaho crossed with Banana Fish and made me weep absolute buckets in the end. I don't think it's for everyone, but if you were ever an aficionado of depressing 90s queer cinema like I once was, this might be one for you.
À vos cotés [Tonari ni], Basso
I was shocked when the announcement for the French release of this title crossed my twitter timeline earlier this year - France has even less by Natsume Ono than the US does, but one of their publishers managed to get one of her actual bl titles published under her bl penname? So naturally, I had to get it. It's super sweet, about a young man who likes to take photos of horses at a racetrack who meets a much older man, and I swear reading it was just like reading her non-bl work only this time the two characters actually got to say their feelings out loud. This would be a perfect addition to several mainstream US publishers' bl lineup, and I would be the first in line to buy it if they did license it in English.
Dear, My God, Nemui Asada
More by Nemui Asada in English! I love Asada's work for its unique storylines and this one didn't disappoint, with a story about a priest having sex with a cult member to help save him and another story about a guy who ends up with a talking plant. It's a bit disappointing that it's only available on futekiya - when will we get some of these titles in print already?
Ikigami & Donor, Hiko Yamanaka
Hiko Yamanaka is another one whose work is always a bit outside the mold, and Ikigami & Donor is an interesting sci-fi bl about powerful "living gods" who have tremendous abilities but can't heal from injuries without blood, bodily fluids, or tissues from one specific donor. It's a fascinating concept and the way the relationship between one ikigami and his donor played out made for an interesting story. I hope to see more from Yamanaka one day.

To Be Here
Tumblr media Tumblr media
October. My beloved October. The kotatsu blanket is back on, the indoor plants don't need as much watering, the fallen leaves in the backyard need sweeping and the Summer clothes have been put away. Funny how many friends I've recently chatted with about the bliss that comes with October. It's a burst of orange ochre and apple red in my head. When the season turned, the sun who has since made herself scarce is a warm embrace whenever she pokes her head out. The wind and clouds are constant companions. The evening is perfect for mysterious reads under candlelight. What a splendid month.
As I am typing this, however, October is nearly done. Something this good always leaves too soon, doesn't it? I love the first taste of cold after the pesky Summer heat and September’s false promises of colder days. October is where it really gets going. But it's always nearly done before I feel like I can properly savor it. How melancholy!! But isn’t that how it always goes? Love is more deeply felt after only the crater it left is the one thing you’ve got to remember it by? Love defined by the lack, the absence, the loss? There will never be enough Octobers for me. I’m a creature of want in this way, yearning is an instinct for me. I watch the days go by and the thought that there won’t be another October until next year is like quicksand for my mind.
Tumblr media
That said I’ve spent the month working diligently and on the whole being rather productive in both work and personal matters. There’s this project I’ve started and making good progress on! Once completed I promised myself a trip where I can apply what I’ve learned and I’m so excited to reach that goal. I’ve also read a lot this month. I really surprised myself. I’ve read six books and the month isn’t over yet! I read two Agatha Christie books, all three of the Toshikazu Kawaguchi series (the fourth one is coming out next month!! And I’ll have to read the fifth one in Japanese because I don’t want to wait for the translation to come out!!!) I also read Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library as recommended by a friend and I'm so glad she brought it up! I've had a copy of it for ages but just never managed to pick it up due to associated memories (it was given to me by someone during a bad period in my life!!) I swear that book might've just saved my life. I also finished two manga volumes in Japanese this month. It's a series called Yotsuba&! which is just the most wholesome series. Maybe I'll talk about it someday on here. But that series is such a light in my life. I picked it up on one particularly tough day last week and it instantly revived hope in my heart that there's still good out there no matter what.
Tumblr media
Other things I've been up to: I've been running a lot these days and I'm actually surprising myself with how much I enjoy it. Earlier today (I'm typing this before bed) I went on a run while it was drizzling. I felt like a kid playing in the rain. I couldn't stop smiling!
Also, the podcast show I mentioned some entries ago!! Case 63!! It has a season 2!! Actually, I found out it's originally by a Chilean writer, so the version I listened to is an English adaptation. Anyway, I'm so happy there's more of it. Season 3 is the final season in Spanish so I expect the English adaptation of that will also be made (since they went so far as to continue with season 2). Fingers crossed! I'm so intrigued as to how it will end!!
As for TV, I started and finished watching HBO's Barry in like a week. I was absorbed!! All four seasons! Mind you, each episode is only 30 mins so it wasn't really that long. It's such a funny and dark show I love it so much. I've heard good things about it through the years but I never found the time to get into it. Plus I have this terrible illness of "I-Can't-Get-Into-Things-When-It's-Super-Mainstream-I-Need-To-Wait-Until-The-Hype-Dies-Down-itis" lol. No, seriously I just didn't feel like getting into a new show until this month apparently. But I'm so glad I watched it. The show is a goldmine, the best Hollywood/LA culture satire I've seen in ages. The way it highlights the gender gap in the workplace, how a writer must compromise on truth in order to sell something, even the way a woman needs to be a "perfect victim" in order for her story to be worth anything! It's so witty!! And the central question of can people truly change--I'll be thinking about this show for a long time. It's so good. Watch it if you can.
Early this month I also managed to sneak a quick trip to Croatia and Slovenia which was so relaxing and peaceful. Trips can be quite stressful for me especially when it's a big city full of tourists due to my OCD (I'm looking at you Paris, and literally all of Italy smh... jk jk) But this trip was restorative and gave me a genuine sense of discovery and wonder, which is what I aim to travel for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been listening to the new Mitski album and rethinking my home library's organisation system! I haven't decided yet but I mainly want my Classical Mythology books, both fiction and non-fiction in one area. Also wishing I bought two Caryatid statues in Athens last year instead of one! Would've been nice for her to have a buddy!!
Now, the title of this entry comes from a realisation I had this month--a very important one. As someone whose nature is to think and think and think, it's difficult to be in the present. I'm always in agony over the past, and anxious about the future. I can be quite dismissive of what's in front of me as a result. This is a chronic issue of mine. But while reading The Midnight Library, tucked in my reading chair, savoring the scent of a pumpkin pie candle, all the pieces of advice I've read both online and in person suddenly clicked.
When writing a first draft of a novel, it simply needs to exist.
When making art, it simply needs to be there.
When yearning to do something, I must attempt it
When wanting to exist, I simply am.
I just need to be here in the most literal sense. To be. Not in the past tense, not in the future tense. There's no need for qualifiers. There is no standard to fulfill. I know this is neither new nor revolutionary, but in the embrace of an October evening, digesting this advice and accepting it made me feel so brave.
It hit me like a sucker punch. I thought, I need to untangle my sense of self and my worth from anything external. I cannot keep on doing this to myself. Because the truth is if I don’t stop this constant self-flagellation, I have simply replaced my mother in adulthood. I will have been no different from her and her constant need to criticise me. This is something I've been actively trying to improve recently and I can feel myself getting better. I feel, somewhat ironically, that by being present, I'm regaining a sense of hope that I haven't felt since childhood. Like somehow my past is healed and my future is assured.
So despite how much I've gone on about loving October at the beginning of this entry, as much as I know I will miss it, I have to be where I am. That means accepting that all things end--good or bad. That means being in November when it comes. That means understanding that what I've lost, while dearly missed, is out of my grasp now. That means what will happen to me is tomorrow's business.
This entry's song I've repeated to death (which is a very good thing) this month. It's by an artist I really enjoy. I cannot wait for new material from her and this new single is a sign of really good things to come!
I leave you with a photo of a friend I made while out on a walk. What shall I name him?

Have a wunderbaaahhh rest of Octobaaaahhh! 🐑

What I'm Reading Wednesday...
On the Duck Prints Press reading server, it’s What I’m Reading Wednesday where we all share what we finished in the last week, what we are currently reading, and what we think of these books.
I figured hey, why not bring that to the rest of the world for myself. Because I love yelling about my current reads. And I’ve always got several things in motion at one time, between physical, audio, and ebooks, plus things I’m reading for specific reasons.
Here’s the summary from the last week in visual format (the actual discussion is behind the read-more):
Tumblr media
Fiction
I am currently reading Many Drops Make a Stream by Adrian Harley (from Duck Prints Press). There are so many things to love in this book. The world building packs so much into such a small space. The culture clash between human and shapeshifter is wonderful (and Harley’s shapeshifters truly have a culture all their own). I thought it was going to be a quick read because it’s short, but the language and depth of information have me going slower and savoring every word. That said, I’ve also reached the point where I want to take it in faster, so I find myself spending a little extra time every time I pick it up, just to get a few more pages!
Manga & Graphic Novels
I have one manga and one graphic novel in progress.
I’ve been reading The Complete Elfquest, volume 1 by Wendy & Richard Pini for a little over two weeks now. We have several of these volumes, and my intention is to read one chapter/issue a night, so I am able to savor them slowly, but also get through them. Reading this first volume is like coming home into a fandom from childhood. The first chunk of it was also collected in the original Warp Graphics compilations, and I can’t remember how often I read those back in high school. I’m reaching the parts now where I probably only read the individual issues once or twice, so it’s familiar, but not to the point where I’m like oh yes, I remember gazing at that panel for hours. I still love these elves, and this story, and I cannot wait to get home each day and be allowed to read a chapter. I’m looking forward to when I reach new-to-me material.
I watched the 24 episode anime The Apothecary Diaries and I wasn’t ready to let it go when it was over, so I started reading the manga by Natsu Hyuuga and Nekokurage. I finished volumes 5 & 6 this past week and am currently reading volume 7. I have the remaining already published volumes waiting for when I’m done with this. I adore Maomao and Jinshi, and am incredibly excited to get to the point where canon moves past what is in the anime. That said, getting to revisit events I already watched on TV and linger over what was said and the exact expressions has been soooo good. (And yes, I know the light novels also exist and will be rolling into those in ebook form after the manga; I might be a tad bit obsessed).
Audiobook
A while ago I thought “I should read some TJ Klune” so I checked the library list I had for audiobooks, and the first of his Extraordinaries trilogy was available in audio. I listened to it. I was addicted. I’m now on the third book—Heat Wave—and I find it very very hard to put it down. I can’t listen while working, only while commuting, walking, or doing chores—things that don’t require me to actually think so I can multi-task. But hey, it’s a GREAT way to get me to do my PT since it means fifteen minutes more of audiobook listening! Nick, the POV character, has ADHD and I flail a lot over pretty much everything he thinks and does. I love every character in this series. I love how Klune is using superheroes as an allegory for the queer experience and for racial issues, but at the same time, is actually addressing those issues explicitly. I both want to listen faster to find out what happens, and linger so it doesn’t end.
Ebook
I have been reading Wayfinder by CE Murphy, which is the second in a duology. This is a romance, yes, but it’s another fun culture clash book, this time between humanity and faerie, and I am so here for that. Murphy is an author I used to read a lot from, and I’m trying to work my way through her back catalog slowly because I’ve always enjoyed her style. Accessible and fun. This series is about a woman who has always been able to hear lies (a Truthseeker), and how her talent develops, and how she works with the faerie kingdoms to try to help them (despite some of them not wanting help, and the original situation not being the one she’s actually needed for).
Non-fiction
I have been working my way through three non-fiction books.
One is A Year of Zen by Bonnie Myotai Treace. I had been looking for a journaling prompt book, and decided to give this one a try. I made the difficult decision to write directly in the book itself, then the additional decision to let myself fail if needed. So if I don’t get to answer a prompt on a day, I just answer it the next day. One prompt per day. It’ll take me more than a year to go through it, but that’s okay. The idea is to have me think and write a short paragraph every day, and not feel guilty about messing up. It’s working surprisingly well. Learning to let myself fail has been a big part of my process this year, and hopefully I am learning to let go of some of the anxiety about things needing to be matched and rigid.
The one I am stalled on right now is The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris. It was recommended as a book that therapists like to use for themselves, not merely recommend to their patients, and it reminded me of the radical acceptance I’m supposed to be practicing (and apparently am, despite myself, according to my therapist after she listened to me). The problem is, it has exercises (doesn’t everything?) and I stalled out because I didn’t have time.
Time is a theme, y’know? And that’s what happened with the last non-fiction book. I’ve been working through The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, taking it as a self-guided 12 week course. I’m currently on week 5. However, I did a week of just doing morning notes before I really got started, then I took a week off when everything went haywire in my schedule because of the power outage. So it’s been about seven weeks so far. This week, as I worked on exercises, I found myself really digging in to my emotions about this book. And in the end, I decided that while I can see the value in some things, the book itself is giving me more anxiety about everything to do with my writing, while at the same time making it impossible for me to find time TO write (while following the advice it gives). So. I am no longer doing it as a course, with exercises, but I will finish reading it. And if an exercise appeals, I’ll do it. It’ll still take time, because I’ll probably still read one chapter each weekend, but I am already feeling WAY less stressed and I only made this decision last night.
So…
That’s it for me! What are you reading?

HOW MANY manga stories do you follow every day/week/month ????
Hey Anon ! Checking my calendar, this goes like this :
Weekly :
One Piece ; Boy's Abyss
Monthly :
Ao no Exorcist ; Gokurakugai (around the 3rd of each month)
Kuroshitsuji (the 18th of each month)
Witch Hat Atelier (around the 20th-24th of each month)
Majo to Yajuu (on hiatus for a little over a year, due to the mangaka being sick, but usually around the 22nd)
Vinland Saga (around the 25th of each month)
Release every two weeks or so :
Akatsuki no Yona ; Chainsawman ; Spy x Family
Unpredictable release :
Berserk continuation, by Mori
Tsui no Taimashi - Ender Geister (weekly release on Sunday, but fan translation and access to raws are unpredictable)
Kinou Nani Tabeta ; Hokuhokusei ni Kumo to Ike ; Otona ni Nattemo (I read when new volumes get released in English)
Choujin X (I catch up every now and then)
Currently discovering :
Recently, I started Sousou no Frieren and also tried Vanitas no Carte's first chapters (@grelleswife ;)), but new series ask me for a lot more focus than series I already know, so it always depends on how I'm faring with my irl work (typically, I know I need to really take more time to understand VnC, especially since I'm naturally biased about any stories with vampire characters).
Additional rereading (I'm always rereading one series or another) :
Still going through my One Piece first rereading (currently stuck in Wano since December).
Otherwise, in January I reread Pierre Bottero's entire multiverse (about a dozen French fantasy books, I'm on the last one called "Les âmes croisées") and for the last 15 days, I've been rereading Akatsuki no Yona (caught up yesterday to the latest released chapter).
Since yesterday, I also started rereading Dorohedoro because two friends showed recent interest in it and I wanted refresh my memory in order to discuss this with them.
My 2024 plans are also to continue my TG reread that I started two years ago (lmao) and to reread Kuroshitsuji to prepare for Ciel & Seb's investigation. Gosh and I also want to reread Golden Kamuy, Chihayafuru and Blade of the Immortal. T_T
Rereading is really something I do on a whim though, so it's not like I can really be sure of what I'll reread next. Usually, it's driven by recent and important plot twist and unraveling. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Have a good day, Anon. :)

Two weeks ago I went out with this dude I’ve known and have liked since middle school. The dialogue and everything in this piece is taken from what occurred that day. With me and him being hood rats, the dialogue is definitely something. Lmaoo this is pt 1.
Tumblr media
“Wanna go to target and walk around then go to the movies ?”
You look over at him with a small smile, while waiting for the light to turn green. He looks over at you and blinks a few times before answering.
“Yea……..Wait what’s at Target, (y/n) ? HmmMM ?”
“Nothing(?) it’s Target. We got a whole hour and some minutes left before the movie starts sooooo…”
He squints his eyes at you thinking that you’re trying to set him up. All you wanna do is just take the boy to Target, man.
The drive to Target definitely took most of the time because you told him you’d pick him up and him living on the East side of town would take at least a good fifteen to half an hour with traffic to get to his place.
With that one Target being on the North side, it most definitely did take a long minute to get there. With the weather being rainy, traffic was slow so yea, time was burnt just with the drive there.
“Put your jacket on. It’s drizzling and I don’t want you getting sick”
You look at your back seat, contemplating if to put it on or not.
“Nah. I’ll be fine. It’s not raining, raining”
As you two walk the parking into the store, he speaks up and gets closer to you.
“Switch sides with me. I don’t want you walking on the outside”
You look up at him with your lips pursed - trying not to cackle.
“Ohhh ?? A gentleman, I see”
“Girl, always. Now get on my side”
“I’m fine here though”
The mischievous smile on your face is seen by him. Causing him to sigh.
“Bro - just switch”
Giving him a hard time is your pass time. You’ve known him since middle school, so he knew very well that you could be hard headed.
You switch sides with him just for him to start walking two steps behind you. You didn’t mind but it did make you feel a bit weird because you have all these thoughts running through your head.
As you renter the building, you guide him straight to the men’s section. All he can do is follow and try to keep up with his fast you’re walking.
“Their shirts are nice. I got this one from here”
He looks down at the black Kakashi shirt you have on that you pairs with sweatpants and J’s.
“Shirt does go hard though. Ohhhh this yo section right here” he goes to the other side where the anime shirts are waiting for you to react at the shirts displayed.
“Mmmh. They don’t have good shit today”
Tumblr media
You two had been in Target for little too long now. All he can do is follow. Next thing he know you were in the book section.
He goes straight, grabbing a book saying how good it was while you went to where the mangas were. You look to see what volumes you had and trying to see if the store had the ones you wanted.
Since you stay going to that specific Target you have the volumes they have available so you just grab a Dragon Ball Super volume.
“You read ?” Kuroo looks at you with furrowed brows along with a questionable look.
“Yeaaaaa”
“(Y/n)” he pauses before grabbing the manga out your hand and skimming it.
“Since when do you read ??? I’ve never seen you read. See you cappin’”
“Motherfucker, how you gonna tell me what I do and don’t ! I’ve been reading” you whisper shout not wanting to be extra ghetto at Targét~
“…..okay okay. Nah cause I believe you. I can see your punk ass reading”. He continues to skim through the book before giving it back.
“See I would read but -……. Uh uh. I don’t have the patience”
You roll your eyes knowing he was trying to get smart. You look back to the shelf one more time expecting for a new volume of something to magically appear before he interrupts.
“Where’s the bathroom in here ?”
“The front. Go ahead. I’ll stay here. If you don’t find me here then go to the Lego section”
Just as said. You had moved to the Lego section. When he did find you he had a shirt in hand. He unfolds it and smiles at you
“Imma get it”
You turn your head to the side trying to figure out what the graphics are on it. He notices you’re having a hard time with the blurred picture.
“It’s Ali, girl”
“…..wait, unfold it again ……pfftt ohhhhh okay I see it”
He shakes his head while you giggle at how long it took you to make out the picture.
Y’all browse the Lego section talking about how cool it would be to build a set and how pretty the car Lego sets are.
You check the time - seeing it says 6:30, you ask him if he’s ready to go. Nodding his head “yes” you two start walking to the check out area.
Walking behind you, you look up at him when he gets your attention.
“You better grab something. Their AP is gonna think we stealing”
His anxiety of him thinking that people are thinking that you two are stealing, was honestly a relatable feeling.
“No cause tell me why, when I go into a store and I don’t find what I want, I still grab something so they don’t think I’m sus” you both smile agreeing that the last thing y’all need is for someone to thing you out here doing sketchy things and out of all places, Target.
“Still grab something” he looks at you all serious after just smiling.
“Kuroo, I got the manga. Calm down”
Once at the self check out he offers to pay for your things. You’re hesitant to let him do so because you felt some type of way when someone paid for you. At the end he forced it on you.
“Just pass the book. I’ll pay for it. I’m not taking “no” for an answer”

Hi, Pia....
So, I used to love shounen and shoujo manga equally, also (het) romance stories from various books. But ever since I found BL manga & danmei books, 3 years ago, my interest in shoujosei (especially het romance) decrese a lot, and what I search for is just the dynamic between mc (male) and male lead. I don't want to read mc (female) and male lead or mc (male) and female lead. Like I become fed up with m/f pairings. And what I want to read mostly are just mlm or wlw stories....
What do you think is happening to me? Is it really weird?
I don't think it's weird at all!
It's normal for people's tastes to change over time for a lot of different reasons. For example a lot of people love m/m because they're just less likely to find certain tropes there than they are in heterosexual romances.
And because of that, they feel more drawn to m/m because they can escape certain strictures of heteronormativity (even though aspects are present) that can allow relationships and characters to be presented differently!
Things like this can cause readers - regardless of their sexuality or gender - to gravitate towards certain genders or sexualities in romance and it's not necessarily a commentary on who they are, but on the tropes they love to read, and the tropes they want to avoid.
It's good to reflect or think about what you might be noticing as the differences between the things you love and the things you're gaining distance from. When I was younger I read a lot of Mills & Boon romance, back when there was a lot of dubcon in it. I literally didn't have other options at the time, the internet didn't really exist.
When I started getting other options I was realising for the first time that hundreds upon hundreds of new tropes, or new ways of writing old tropes and themes, existed, and I got to make more choices, more freely.
You might find it's the same! Especially if you're younger, or especially if you're just discovering these tropes and themes now.
There's so, so many reasons to be drawn to certain pairings, and sometimes sitting down and non-judgmentally reflecting on that can be really helpful. The non-judgmental part is important.
One day you might drift away from what you love now and love something else more instead! It's really really normal for many people to go through different phases not just in genre, but in all sorts of things! I have been obsessed with BL again for the last two years, but I spent like three years not reading it much at all, and reading a lot of nonfiction instead. Where our minds and our desires and our thoughts take us, often show that we're growing or changing as people, picking up a lot of different tales and narratives on the way.
Honestly that's cool, it's not weird at all

Travel Blog: Leipziger Buchmesse Friday
Timcampy's Adventures, meeting Friends & Religious Gold
Day two of the Bookfair. Today I was about to wear the new variant of the Runaway Outfit again, which I had made for the Polaris back last year AND the new Innocence I just made one week before the con.
Day two started very early for me ... I woke up at 3 in the morning and with a cat using me as trampoline and the overstimulation from the day before I was alerted by everything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But I wanted to cosplay still. And even work with Make up again. I am super unskilled with Make up for Cosplay because aside the curse I haven't used any since my teens and just started doing it in ... October. I have learned quite a bit since then like switching to a different type of make up that doesn't need 5 days to be scrubbed off, that's better for my already sensitive eyes.
I also snapped off one of the nails from the Innocence and learned I need ... assisstance when visiting the bathroom while wearing it. oof.
Tumblr media
I'm thankful I was not the driver for this day and just was able to chill for once after being stuck in traffic the evening before.
This time we actually started with taking different photos before the hall got too full, we even made a small video.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the fair itself the section for comics/manga had started as a part of the fantasy and children's section ages ago and 10 years ago it got its own hall and even was expanded last year to 1 1/2 halls. Hall 1 was mainly artists this time with a HUGE department for artists and several rows of an artists alley along with some merchants. The half of Hall 3 was different publishers like Crunchyroll, Tokyopop, Nintendo and bigger merchants or even other conventions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have to say my feeling of hunger was not existent that day but I felt my eyes were getting worse, I even had to put on my glasses for a while, hoping it would be better. Was truly motivated me was that the german DVD/Blu Ray Publisher of D.Gray-man still recognized me and asked me to return with the 1st Uniform to take Photos for promoting the series on their Instagram and I was just .. wow. Still can't believe they asked me.
Tumblr media
While we wandered the glass hall several times for finding my DGM Mutuals we decided to give the other sections a visit as Alu had a mission and as we walked through the religious section one vendor gave us a little bible book and ... "real gold" ... uhm.. Mister you know I'm running away from the church yes? :'D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that we went to one of the big book shops and of course I had to look up some cook books. My guilty pleasure. But this time I didn't end up buying a ton, I only got one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in the glass hall I was finally able to locate my DGM Mutuals and we made a pile of Tims as you can see. Haha. I'm so glad I am brave enough to talk to people again, it was an issue in the past that I just shyly crossed their ways and wished they would notice me, but nope, not this time. I also walked to other cosplayers and told them I love their costumes. Just to brighten up their day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A few more impressions from the location itself. If you look closely you can spot the D.Gray-man Nendos of Allen, Kanda and Lavi. Oh and I finally got a pocket watch again! Mainly for my past!Allen Cosplay if I will wear it again, the owl reminds me of the bookshop emblem we see in chapter 249.
Tumblr media
As we later sat down in the glass hall, we got myself a snack for photos and put aside our stuff and I didn't notice but a friend of a friend took Timcampy and played around with him. Until they complained that parts weren't made to their liking and that was the point I was close to snapping. I can tell my was over everything already with the little sleep I had, my eyes acting up, running around all day long already.
I tried to get lost while we went on another window shopping trip and actually bought a Ramen and an Udon bowl. Just to drop the bag 2 minutes after buying. Then I only had a Ramen bowl and a pile of shards. All went downhill then I didn't want to talk, I didn't want a hug, I sat down and tried not to have a panic-mental-breakdown-whatever. I even went out into the rain just to RUN to get the steam off. I went to my friend Julia who luckily involved me into small talk that calmed me down. But the day was ruined. I returned to my friends but some of theirs popped up and started a conversation, usually they are very lovely and I like them but I just couldn't listen to someone talking anymore. I left them to just walk around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was late already and it had started pouring, for now I decided just to stare at the rain running down the glass.
Tumblr media
My friends wanted to calm me down, hug me, but I declined. I didn't want to talk. We went back to Schu's place, I had dinner and went to bed, rolling myself into a blanket like a burrito.

2023年4月30日
This month was again very busy! Do I ever have not-busy months? Probably not! I still accomplished quite a bit, but I didn't do everything I had planned to do. One thing that I noticed though was that my reading skill and my listening skill have progressed because of incorporating reading and listening into my daily practice routine. I picked back up a manga I had started a year ago and found that it was easier to read this time. I also realized I am able to pick up more from news and other TV programmes now. The key is really just practicing consistently! It feels good to see tangible progress, and that motivates me even more.
My 2023 Goals Progress
I laid out some broad goals for my Japanese study in my 2023 Japanese Language Goals post, so again I will update my progress towards these goals.
1. Read one page a day of 日本の歴史366 (にほんのれきし366) everyday in 2023.
How is it going? Good! In March my reading fell behind due to work and illness, and I didn't exactly catch up in April, but I am trying to continue even though I missed quite a few days and have not yet been able to read them. The goal is reading everyday, and although I really wanted to stay in order and to stay on top of it, sometimes things happen! I'll keep reading a page a day and catch up where I can.
2. Finish 日本語総まとめ N3 (にほんごそうまとめ N3) workbooks.
How is it going? Good! I have been working one of the four workbooks (Vocabulary, Kanji, Grammar, Listening) into my schedule several nights a week (mostly weekend nights!). I have worked through Week 4 out of 6, so I am close to the end of these workbooks! I am also taking more time to review them, so I can do fewer pages at a time but I feel like I am getting more out of them. I read each day's lesson carefully before I tackle the questions, and then I pick up each workbook again throughout the week and just read through the questions again.
3. Review and learn the first 6 levels of the 常用漢字 (じょうようかんじ), specifically the 教育漢字 (きょういくかんじ) up to grade 6.
How is it going? Not great. I definitely did not pick back up specifically the 常用漢字 in April, so I will try it again in May! Tbh, I just forgot to focus on these during my kanji studies and was more focused on vocabulary words ^^;
4. Read at least one book every two months.
How is it going? Not great. I am very behind on the books that I wanted to complete by the first half of this year. I lost motivation in March or so and haven't been able to pick them back up. I was reading them slowly and mining for vocabulary/kanji, which takes a lot of time that I don't have. I have been reading other books sporadically (although I haven't finished any) and I have been reading manga and articles semi-regularly. I thought this goal would be easier than trying to read a book each month, but it's still a lot for me. It's ok to change your goals, and next month I'll try to reformulate this goal to make it work for me.
5. Improve my speaking and writing by finding a tutor.
How is it going? It could be better. April was busier than I thought! I hope to find a tutor in May, but I find it difficult to find someone who suits my needs (and my time constraints). I hope to have better news on this next month! Wish me luck!
6. Study Japanese for at least 10 minutes a day.
How is it going? Good! Variation in my study schedule is the key to keeping up a daily Japanese study goal. If I'm tired, manga or an article, or a quick flashcard session, are quick ways to practice. If I have extra time I squeeze in a workbook lesson. Finding lots of little ways to practice helps me to stay interested and to stay motivated.

April Study Log
April was another busy month, so let's see how I did!
Vocabulary - This month I spent a lot more time practicing vocabulary. Not only did I write down words and look up words I didn't know, I also tried to conscientiously incorporate new words into my daily conversation. This helped me to remember them as well as to figure out what situations I would use them in.
Listening - I spent a lot of time with podcasts (during my commute) and TV/movies (with my son!) so I got a lot of listening practice in. I did realize the other day that I find it easier to listen to even more fast-paced or advanced TV shows, etc. That was a nice realization!
Kanji - I slacked off on kanji and definitely did not focus on school-age kanji. I honestly just forgot, and didn't have much time to commit new kanji to memory. I'll try again next month!
Speaking - We had a lot of play dates and so I got in a lot of speaking practice. The more I speak the more comfortable I am and the more information I can convey. This is definitely something I'd like to work on with a tutor!
Grammar, Reading, & Writing - I would like to incorporate these more into my daily studies, but they have really dropped off my radar recently. I have been quite busy and very tired as a result, so I am not going to be too hard on myself.
Tumblr media
Going Forward in May
Continue working through N3 総まとめ workbooks as often as possible
Work more on 漢字 and specifically focus on the 教育漢字
Get an italki (or other?) tutor that suits my needs
Review and practice 3 grammar points per week
Next month I will really try to stick to the goals I have set and I hope to have a better report. But I still think that any progress is good progress, so let's keep working towards our goals! See you next month!
来月はもうちょっと目的に集中したいと思いますが、目的を超えなくても成功ができると思っています。そしてまだまだ勉強を進んで頑張りましょう!また来月!

yangyang - bookstore run-in
word count : 557
-
"i'll see you guys tomorrow," you said to your friends as they waved. you walked away and walked down a few blocks before reaching a local bookstore. you walked inside and immediately started looking around.
as you passed by the manga section, you pulled out the first book from a new series that had recently came out. you read the back of it before flipping through the first few pages.
"that series is pretty expensive."
you looked over and saw one of your classmates, yangyang, standing with his hands in his pockets. he walked over and adjusted his backpack that was slung over his shoulder.
"since when do you read manga?" he asked while grabbing a book on the shelf above you.
"you never asked," you replied and closed the book in your hands. you grabbed the second book in the series and held them in your arms.
"hand them to me," he said to you and held his hand out.
"huh? why?" you asked and pulled out another book from a different series.
"i'll pay for them, i have extra cash today," he randomly offered.
you shook your head, "no, thanks though. i'll buy them myself," you said. you flipped through a few pages of another book you found.
"so, you watch anime?" yangyang asked. you looked over at him and watched him put the book he picked up back on the bookshelf.
you nodded, "mhm, but i haven't been into anything lately. i've been watching gaming streams lately." you closed the book you opened and put it back on the shelf. you scanned the spines of the manga and saw a series that you watched in the past. "can you get that one for me?" you asked yangyang while pointing to the series.
"the first one?" he asked.
"the first two," you answered. he easily reached up and grabbed the two books. then, he handed them to you. "thanks."
"yea." yangyang grabbed another copy of the first book in the series that he had just handed to you and looked at it. "this looks cool," he commented.
"i watched the anime a long time ago, but the series is ongoing," you mentioned and bent down to look at the other books on the shelves closer to the ground. "have any recommendations for me? i read a lot,” you asked, looking back up at him.
he got down onto one knee and grabbed a book. "this is my favorite series," he said and handed you the book.
you looked at the back to read the synopsis and flipped through the first few pages, "the art is really nice." you commented.
"the anime is nice too. we could watch it sometime, if you want," yangyang offered.
you looked at him, "is that your way of asking me out?" you asked him.
"a binge-watching date would be fun," he said. "you free tomorrow night?" he asked.
you smiled and nodded, "all day after school."
"wait for me in the classroom, tomorrow," he said and stood up. he held his hand out to you, and you took it and stood up. you let go of him and held the stack of books in your arms. "okay, at least let me pay for two of the books," he requested.
but you started walking away, "nope."
"oh come on!"
"shh!"

Things I expected from MHA because of the fandom VS canon
I started actively watching MHA last october, after dropping it years ago because the first two minutes bored me.
But in october I caught a fever and had absolutely 0 energy, so all I could do was resting on the sofa and watching TV. I decided to give MHA another chance, it looked chill and lighthearted after all, and I actually enjoyed it.
In fact, I enjoyed it so much I finished the whole thing in no time, and dragged one of my best friends along. In December I rewatched it with him again and ordered all the manga (including Smash, Team-Up Missions and the characters books). Now I'm up to date with every chapter, have merchandise, cosplays, read hundreds of fanfics and written a couple myself, and plan to go to one of the biggest conventions here in Italy all because of it.
I can almost say it saved me at the time. It wasn't a nice period, and MHA helped me a lot to ease my mind, find comfort and understand things from my own childhood. It gave me something to be excited for (like the weekly updates and the new season), other people to talk to, a creativity boost and even a job.
BUT!
I arrived in the fandom quite late, and the biggest reveals and theories had been already made (no, I didn't expect Dabi to be Touya, so thank you fandom for spoiling this :'D I was so mad!).
So here's a list of every difference between fanon and canon that shocked me - in other words, what happened in the manga that I didn't expect because of fans' headcanons. I'll keep this updated for my own pleasure v.v
EraserMic family & Shinso: I sincerely thought that Aizawa and Hizashi would be living together with Shinso and Eri (blame this on denki.darling on TikTok), and that we'd be seeing Shinso more frequently.
Hawks and the LoV: I believed Hawks would be spending some time with the whole gang, including Shigaraki, but they never actually met! He didn't even stay at their hideout, he only knew the PLF mansion in Gunga!
Hawks and Dabi: This is a tough one, as they're my supreme OTP. As I remarked in another post, they only share 6 canon moments together. Six. It's nothing. I was really convinced there would be more scenes of them together, also to build up the divorce betrayal scene, but there weren't. I started shipping them because of the fandom, not the anime, and only later caught up with the manga, so I spent a couple of days feeling really stupid and sad and questioning myself on why would I ship them if they really barely talked to each other. We don't even know about their first encounter! But eventually I sobered up and started shipping them even harder. Also, I totally fell for the childhood friends thing. Another stab in my heart when I found out it was purely fanon.
Dabi's past: Reading plenty of fanfiction, I thought Enji phisically forced him to train his quirk and that was the reason why Touya burned up and became Dabi, so when I read Dabi's past in the manga I was very lost, to say the least. I couldn't get it. Endeavor surely wasn't a nice father, but he wanted to protect Touya from his own quirk. He didn't push him! Instead, he pleaded him to let it go and focus on other things. It was Touya who did that to himself, and now throwing a tantrum because his dad didn't pay attention to him anymore. I started to dislike the character, and man, was I wrong. I reevaluated his whole story after chapter 350 in April. Seeing Touya like that, seeing him being afraid, alone, heartbroken and still wanting to apologize and put everything behind him broke me. And then he comes home to a household that seems to have forgotten about him, to a father that still beats his children, and that was his last straw, the final confirmation that his life never had meaning. Only then I started reading character analysis and understanding the truth. That neglecting children is abuse. That feeding a child with dreams up to the point they become his whole world and purpose and then stripping him from them is abuse. I was so blind to this and to my own childhood, because something very similar happened to me. Since then, I began relating to Touya a lot more. Not justifying his actions but understanding his pain.
Deku's corruption: This is stupid, but I was almost convinced he actually would have joined the League to be with Toga XD

I used to have 658 Manga. I started collecting when I was very young, at a time and in a place where it was harder to find them online, let alone in german (back when I didn’t speak english). so what else was there to do but buy them? I also loved having the copies! But, it was expensive, already like 25 years ago. Prices have more than doubled. Not to mention, back then most had to be ordered on demand because it was a very, very niche thing even in bigger cities.
The point is, I had 658 manga, that is a lot of money and also some space they take up.
Had a special shelf made that took up an entire wall. I loved them. I moves out from home and into an apartment with a friend. I was in my early twenties and below us was a family with three girls. They weren’t quite poor but they also didn’t have much spending money for fun stuff. The oldest girl was 14, I think, and I was talking to her mum once outside when she came begging to get money for the new volume of some series (I can’t remember which one, it was an ongoing one that I knew of but didn’t read). She promised to clean the bathroom, vacuum the house, everything.
I remember saying, “oh, you like manga? So do i!”
The girl was so excited. I mean this stuff was more common overall these days but still more niche in a backwater place like the one I lived at that time. I was like the first person she met that didn’t just loosely watched the shows and was aware what manga were but was really into it, too. I told her if her mum was okay with it, she could come see my collection and pick any she would like to read.
Her mum was a little reluctant. The younger ones would maybe want to look at them too, she was worried they might get signs of usage and so on. I said as long as they don’t split the back, that’s fine. They aren’t collectibles. Like 6 different elementary schoolers went through the dragon ball ones back in the day. Yes, treat your books with care but at the same time, they are made to be read.
Girl was over the moon when she saw my collection. At first she would just ask to borrow new ones when she happened to see me come home from work but later she was less hesitant and came knocking on occasion.
We moved to a different place like two years later. My room would be a lot smaller. So, so many of the manga I have read once and left in the shelf ever since. I put the nostalgia one and the ones I liked a lot into boxes.
The ones I only ever read once into another. I told the girl later she could pick any she wanted and keep them. She could also keep the shelf because I knew hers was cramped and overflowing ( mine was big, actual wood and designed in depth and all to perfectly maximize the space for manga.) and I would no longer need such a big one, let alone have the space.
She was absolutely losing it. Shrieking and jumping and going, really, really? All over again.
I was so excited that she was so excited.
Her mum came to me and asked me at least 5 times if I was sure. Its so much money!
The truth is, second hand manga, even in top condition, don’t sell super well. I did sell some, but couldn’t and also didn’t want to keep the others in boxes until they did sell.
I said, “yeah, sure. I haven’t read them in years. What’s the point in keeping them like decorations in my shelf or in boxes? It just makes me happy that they can make someone else excited the way they excited me.”
(I randomly found her on Pinterest almost 10 years later, she is still super into anime and manga and still has the shelf)
I have a bit of a problem of letting things go because, what if I want to use it later? So I still had like 400 when I moved the second time. My cousin was over to pick something up and saw my collection. Mentioned her neighbor kid was really into it, too. (they didn’t have much money, bad family situation all around, she just moved to live with the grandparents). I sorted my manga out again, put them in a box, got into contact with the girls grandparents. Explained the situation and learned her 13. birthday was coming up. the weekend after her birthday, I showed up with a giant box, told her who I was and that she could have whatever she wanted from the box.
Just like the other girl, she was so, so happy. I loved it.
Could I have made some money back if I sold them? Sure. But it’s a hassle. And see, if I had met someone like me when I was their ages, that would have been such an amazing thing. I like to share the thing that made me happy.
Now, I bought the trigun and maximum manga. They don’t fit into my perfectly filled, current shelf anymore.
Tumblr media
The manga now have been there for years. I love them. Re read some of them. But there is still a bunch that is good but… not enough to have re read them in like the past 10 years.
So what do I do? Keep them? So I have physical copies still if I ever want to re visit them?
For a whole while the talk about getting physical copies of stuff has been going on, especially with what is going on with streaming. I get it, though there is more to it than just ‘unlike with streaming they cant take it away and you actually owe it’ (mostly its money and space but also the ability to check it out before having to invest too much).
The point is, trigun had me actually wanting to own physical copies of something again. And with the rooster teeth situation going on I am glad to know I have all available dvd and Blu-ray from rvb and rwby.
Then again, they sit on my shelf, just in case, looking pretty.
I decided to cut down again. Keep the best and the nostalgia one (I don’t think I will ever reread dragonball or even inu Yasha but that’s the nostalgia. Fma will stay. Durarara, d.n.angle… bunch of shorter series that are mindblowing like blood+ or another).
I don’t know any kids big on manga personally right now, so lets go to the library nearby (that also offers manga drawing courses) and see what they want.
Yes, owing physical copies is important. But if they stay on my shelf untouched for years on end, I think they serve a better purpose with someone what gets to actively enjoy them.
