The Billionaire From London Ch. 1

Pairing: Jamie Campbell Bower x OC Maurisa Watson

Summary: It is the fall of 2022, Maurisa owns a cafe in downtown New York City. While on the job, she is greeted by a blonde, six foot man who has a British accent and who appears to be wanting something. What is it exactly that he wants?

Authors Note: Hi guys, my apologies for the delay in the fanfic, as you can see, this is more of chapter-based fanfic until I reach 10,000 words, so I decided on changing plans until I finish it. Not sure how many chapters, but hope you guys enjoy the first chapter! <3 - Shar?

The appealing orange, burgundy red leaves were descending from off of the old oak trees that were standing tall on either side of the bridge Maurisa would always walk on early in the morning in Downtown New York. The smell of Autumn singed her nostrils, the beautiful Canadian Geese that were drifting in the pond in Central Park had always never failed to catch her eye. Maurisa’s lanky arms rested across the white furnished bridge, she knew it was going to be a lovely start off to a Wednesday morning.

Slipping her phone out from her back pocket of her black ripped skinny jeans, she quickly checked her emails as Miss Watson was about to head off to work. While walking against the crunched up bright colored leaves crackling under her tennis shoes, it appeared to be as if somebody was following her. The suspense grew thick as Maurisa grew paranoid, the sound of people chattering around her while enjoying their coffee blocked out the problem that was possibly behind her. She had stopped in the middle of the walk path, she dared to look back, but no one was behind her. A good sigh of relief escalated through her, feeling someone in her presence that wasn’t actually there was a bit odd. She continued on her walk to the Cafe named Hallowed Grounds Tearoom that she called home.

Maurisa finally arrived, she unlocked the doors to the Cafe shop with her keys into the door. Pushing the doors wide open with opened arms, she flickered on the lights now entering the building. Walking casually over behind the counter where all the magic happened, she sat the keys down on the pearl white countertop that was attached to her black, thin string lanyard that was resting in her fist. She waited for a rush of customers to rush in her store because her cafe shop was in popular demand. Everyone loved going to her store, they even gave her excellent five star reviews on Google.

As the day passed by, Maurisa was getting ready to close the doors to her Cafe, thanking everyone for coming. She had met some new faces of the crowd, and new personalities that she thought were pretty unique. Suddenly, a 6’0 in height blonde man with piercing ocean blue eyes walked through the doors. Vintage cologne lingered in the store as he casually walked up to Maurisa with his calloused hands deep in his pockets of his black, leather coat, giving a daring smile to her.

‘’Hi, you do know I’m getting ready to close for the night?’’ She asked, eyebrows raised scrutinizing the man’s body language, how it was laid back and chill. He lended out his left hand to her, which appeared to have a small, detailed skull on his middle finger on that hand alone.

‘’I’m sorry, but it’s closing time for me and I really want to go home,’’ She stated, clutching the gold keys in her hand. The 6’0 British man wasn’t taking no for an answer. Finally, after an awkward silence abrupt, he spoke:

‘’Listen, I know you have no clue on who I am, but I want to introduce myself. My name is Jamie Campbell Bower, I might be the one who can change your life forever for the better.’’

Maurisa tucked a fiery orange strand of her hair behind her ear, she replied:

‘’My name is Maurisa Watson. Nice to meet you, Jamie. Look, I really have to get going, I’m sorry.’’

Jamie gently grabbed Maurisa’s arm, he looked her in the eyes,

‘’Believe me when I tell you this, Maurisa. We are complete strangers to each other, and I have just met you, don’t get me wrong. But it seems to be as if you have had some troubles in your life, I can see it just by looking at you. Since you’re in a rush to go home, I will give you my number.’’

He pulled out a white index business card from out of his richened black coat, handing it to her.

‘’Don’t forget to call or text me. It was nice meeting you, have a goodnight.’’

Just like that, Jamie Campbell Bower disappeared without a trace.

‘’It was nice meeting you too, Jamie Bower.’’

That very night, she headed home in her Nissan Versa jet black car, the white index business card that Jamie gave her was somewhere laying in the bottom of her Gucci purse. One hand on the steering wheel, and the other hand resting on her lap. She couldn’t stop thinking about the man she met earlier today in the Cafe, how he smelled good and also was so charming to her, he was perhaps probably going to be the one who would change her life forever, guarantee on that. What if he was the one who would take all of her troubles away from her life for good?

Maurisa got out of the car, locking her car and went up to her front porch. Unlocking the door to her home, she entered her house placing the gucci back down on the couch. Sighing, she dug in her purse to find the business card that Jamie gave her, finding luck within a minute to dial the number that was seen on the card, she placed the phone up close to her ear and waited for a response.

‘’Please leave your message for ***-***-***’’

Beep.

‘’Hi Jamie, this is Maurisa, the woman you met at the Cafe. I just thought I’d give you a call. Please call me back at ***-***-***, hope to hear from you soon, bye.’’

She laid flat down on the brown, leather couch. Flickering the TV on to watch Netflix, she became a little tired scroll after scroll to find a show or movie to watch. Letting out a yawn, she burrowed herself in the blankets sitting on the couch, and drifted off to sleep.

Waking up the next day, Maurisa’s phone had appeared to be on silent mode, buzzing. She groaned, eyes opening slowly to see who was calling. It was Jamie’s number. Swiping up for the answer button, she held the phone to her ear.

‘’Hello, Jamie?’’

‘’Hi, Maurisa, I saw you tried calling me last night. So sorry about that, love. I fell asleep. How are you doing this morning?’’ Jamie’s voice erupted on the other line of the call.

‘’How am I doing? Oh, just fine. Just woke up. Why I was trying to call at around 10pm last night was just because I wanted to ask you why do you think that you can change my life instantly?’’

A soft grumble came out of Jamie,

‘’Well, dear, I think I can change your life because that is what I do for a living, to change people’s lives for the better and not for the worse. You really came to my interest once I saw you, so you meeting me is going to be something you would always remember.’’

Uh huh.

She scratched the back of her neck, the hairs on her neck were standing up, feeling alarmed that a man like Jamie who may indicate a bit of interest in her was quite alarming. In Maurisa’s past relationships with guys, the first day that she had met them, they never really expressed their feelings how he did just now to her. Especially over the phone.

‘’I honestly have to say that I am flattered, Jamie. I have to be honest here, I never saw or heard a guy actually tell me something you just told me, especially when meeting me for the first time. Never in my ten years of dating did someone compliment me like you’ve done.’’ Maurisa chuckled, running her hand through her orange hair.

‘’I just didn’t want you to think that I was weird or trying to scare you off, y’know, a guy like me should stop and think before he actually gets too carried away,’’

He continued on,

‘’I want to actually invite you to a party that my friend Joseph is hosting, and wanted to see if you’d be interested in going? I will give you all the details on when and where it’s happening.’’

She stopped and thought briefly about it before answering the British man, Maurisa nodded to herself.

You should go, why not? She thought.

‘’Yeah, I'd love to go to your friend’s party with you. Just let me know when you get the details situated and we can go from there.’’

‘’Brilliant, I will definitely text you when I hear back from my friend Joseph, I will see you then, Maurisa.’’ He hung up.

Maurisa’s glossy lips tugged into a smile, this was going to be the first party she would attend in years. Despite all of the boyfriends she had, she had hope left in her to soon find love again. She hoisted herself up off of the couch, realizing that today and tomorrow she didn’t have to work at Hallowed Grounds Tearoom, also known as her Cafe she worked at 5 days in the week. Stretching her slim body, her phone buzzed, it was a text message from Jamie himself.

The text message read:

‘’Hi Maurisa, so I just heard back from Joseph. Here are the details: 6 p.m. on a Saturday, and it will be at 963 Thatcher Street New York City. Make sure you’re there on time. Looking forward to seeing you x - Jamie’’

Since it was still Friday morning, Miss Watson still had time to get ready for the party tomorrow night. Shoving her phone in one of the pockets of her pajama pants, she got dressed for the day and made herself some fresh Avocado Toast with a tall glass of water. Sitting herself down at the kitchen table, she ate pieces of her Avocado Toast, and lifted the glass of water to her lips before calling her best friend, Allie. Dialing her phone number, she had a plan in mind in telling Allie, her best friend of five years, about Jamie Bower.

‘’Hey Allie, you would never guess who’s party I am going to tomorrow night,’’ Maurisa said with determination in her voice.

‘’Hey best friend! And you? At a party? No freaking way you’re going to a party. You haven’t gone to one in I don’t know how many years!’’ Allie pointed out, shocked because of what she had told her.

‘’Long story short, but I met a guy named Jamie at my work and he seems pretty chill to put it bluntly. He asked me to go to a house party his friend Joseph is hosting, he doesn’t even seem like the creepy type you know what I mean?’’

Maurisa heard Allie’s shuttered laugh from the other line of the phone conversation, maybe full on sarcasm wasn’t the way to go, because you know how men are nowadays.

‘’I hope it goes all well for you, Maurisa. Please be careful tomorrow.’’ She replied.

Please be careful tomorrow, the words that unwinded in the back of Maurisa Watson’s mind like strings unattached.

She mouthed the words out to her best friend: ‘’Okay, I will.’’ and hung up.

Welcome to my blog guidelines!

Please, read it with caution...

🧸 My literary works are mainly about K-pop groups, paired with original characters (oc). But I don't plan on limiting my writing to them only. I'm looking forward to write about other artists, concepts, etc...

🧸 I write for the following groups: Ateez - BTS - EXO - GOT7 - Monsta X - NCT ( basically all units) - Seventeen - Stray Kids

And also others groups that I'm not part of the fandom, but I really like!

And about Girl Groups/female idols, I haven't written much about them, but I intend to: Blackpink, (G)Idle, Sunmi.

🧸At many of my works I tend to be as inclusive as I can, and for that, I try not to describe some characteristics of the original characters, and use neutral language, but still, it can happen to pass, or for me to write using the female pronouns.

🧸 I do accept requests, but it might take a while for me to post them, since creativity is a heartless batch, that runs away from me, all we need is a little patience!

001 BATIM 003 Summer - rnm (I don't often see you talk about her lol)

OOOOOOOOoooo Summer!

You are right I do not talk about her nearly enough, even though she’s somewhere in my top 5 favs (top 3 counting only characters from the show)! Also I’m kinda talking about comic book Summer and show Summer (s)

So, as I stated up top, love her but when I started watching the show I didn’t like her too much (she was okay but I thought she was going to be flat stereotypical teen girl)But that was beginning season 1 (which she was a side character) and then Season 2 came along and I said “Hell yeah, she cool” and I started really loving her as a character! Wasteland Summer was also cool to see and I was sad to see her frozen with not much more exploration on her character.

Hmmm as much as I ship and love to do so…I really don’t with Summer. The one universe in the comics where she’s a lesbian I totally support and I low key ship the crackship with the car. Other then that though I think she’s doing well on her own. I personally don’t ship her with Ethan since based on what’s seen not really compatible (of course when did I care compatibility-Eh I just don’t see enough substance for em). I’ve seen a few arts with her and Jessica which is cute but not really my taste either.

Now to non romantic relationship-

Well I feel like her and Rick get along well in the end, whether that’s good or bad I’m not sure, but I really enjoy her relationship with Beth? Like at first it sucked, it really really sucked. But I feel as though it got progressively better (especially the end episode where they’re shopping and doing daughter mom things). I hope to see the relationship in the next season and even her to grow a stronger bond with her dad as well (since that ones been shaky too. Honestly she doesn’t have stable relationships with anyone platonic and romantic which Is sad)

Unpopular opinion…

Hmm a lot of people show her as badass (which I love me some good ol fighten Sum Sum) But some people, when doing so, make her exactly like Rick. Now I’m not disagreeing she has some parallels to him (she definitely does especially showcased in season 3) but I think people need to remember she IS a different person. She CAN be a genius and strong and whatever but she will approach situations with her own twist! I also see (in fics mostly) them blow Summer off completely or make her stereotypical teen (doesn’t talk to anyone about anything ever, always grochy, and if does appear in said fic is just on her phone) which is an interpretation that I don’t care for.

Hmm, again explore more her relationship with her family (asside from Rick since I think that has been showcased in Season 2 and 3 a lot). Maybe even her teen/school life since she doesn’t blow off school as much as Morty does.

Fav friendship, hands down her and Morty. I feel like, at times, the top can work really well together (although not always- but that’s the complication with relations thier not always perfect). I also hope in future eps she makes some cool alien friends or something. I think that would be fun!

Crossover ship? Ehhhhh? Her and Wendy from Gravity Falls? I saw it once (or twice?) in fic/art and they seem pretty decent together. They would make a nice couple and also I think they’d also be pretty good friends! Yeah badass red heads unite!

BATIM!!!! Oooooooo boy! Also I’ll be doing lil more descriptions for the characters then RnM one since your less familiar with these characters 😊

Fav character, that is tricky. Staying strictly to canon game Wally (pure janitor boy) or Bertrum (local narssarsist finds someone who’s got an even bigger ego and now thier partners or AKA the octopus ride). I like Wally because throughout the whole game he’s got tapes and they’re always nice and cheerful which is a nice lil break (or poik(perk) as he’d say) from the horror and darkness. Also the whole probable he’s Perfect Boris just makes him better (I love Boris). And Bertrum; well for one he’s an annoying cool mini boss, I like that both him and Joey had big egos but he had one AND he seemed like a decent guy, cool design in general, and he’s got his motavations figured out Joey gipped him and now Joey’s gotta pay. As for everyone’s interpretation and also my personal hc? All of them! Even that bastard Joey!

No least fav’s. Some times I don’t like certain people’s interpretation of a character but I really like them all. If I had to pick one I’d say Allison since I felt in cannon she was a bit bland. But really in cannon we didn’t have much to go off of many of the characters.

Fav ships (in no particular order btw and one more then said but whatever)

Henry X Joey (like how can you not ship the protagonist and antagonist? Doesn’t every fandom do that? But honestly why else would you come back to mean bosses’ studio after 30 years if you two hadn’t dated or at least had a lil but more then a friendship. Also angst train woot woo).

Sammy X Suzie (ahhhh. I love em so much I just hsjaownjw. And it’s almost cannon and SO MUCH ANGST POSSIBLE HEHEHHE)

Tom X Alison (cannon but very cute).

Wally X Shawn (bring me the pure boys! Honestly this ship is kinda ‘random’ but also is a lil popular and has a toooonnnn if cute HC’s.).

Ink Sammy X Projectionist Norman (I love inky angsty boys!)

Lacie X female OC ( I love when she has a noice girlfriend)

Who do I find attractive: hmmm not really anyone (in game)Like Inky Sammy buff so I guess him.

Who I’d marry: ghanakjsjsks??? Idk! No one?

Best Friend: preink-Wally, no questions. Postink- Boris (so still Wally) because I’d just hide in the safe house and play cards.

Unpopular Opinion: Sammy, Henry, And Joey are all around same age and they grew up together. Idk if it’s unpopular but I’ve seen a lot of times Sammy is younger then the other two.

Cannon OTP: Samsie isn’t cannon? Maybe? it’s definitely alluded to but the only thing cannon cannon is Thomas X Allison so I guess by default them.

Non Cannon: Wally X Shawn please and thank you

Badass character: based on cannon,Bertrum? Like I said he’s a heck of boss fight. Maybe Henry cause he’s had to dealt with everyone’s crap. Projectionist because he literally fist fights the ink demon. Based on personal hc Lacie.

Epic Villian: Idk if he counts as epic but Sammy was an interesting villian. I feel like he should’ve been explored more (so does the rest of the fandom) but I feel like straight up trying to sacrifice

Pairing I’m not a fan of: I used to not like Sammy X Wally but now I think it’s kinda cute. Maybe Wally X Norman just HC they have a more father son bond but I’ve seen some stories where it’s not the case sooo, it really does depend on people’s personal story. I also don’t care for Alice X Bendy (but some content of them is cute and I still enjoy some of it).

Character I feel like they screwed up: Sammy they didn’t do to much with even though he had a lot of potential. Same with Allison and Thomas who were kinda just bland especially Allison.

Character I identify with: when hc I project a lot on Wally but i don’t identify with anyone imparticular.

Character I wish I could be: I’m going to take this as if I could be one of the toons (and not in game toons, since I’d be trapped and I’d rather not) Boris. Who wouldn’t want to be a wolf who just eats all day. Or Edgar (spider boy) because he’s so cute!

Summary: What makes someone human? It is what Data has always strived to learn and understand. With the arrival of a new instructor aboard the USS Enterprise, he just might find out. Rating: T (For now) Data x OC

Location: Alpha Quadrant, Terran 001

Stardate: 45070.5

Captain’s Personal Log: Since our last encounter with the Tamarians, I have enlisted the help of a new Instructor at our school here on the Enterprise. As previously indicated in my log, the Tamarians have a very interesting pattern of communication that utilizes references to obscure histories and Homeric epithets. The Instructor is highly skilled in the understanding of human mythological texts as well as linguistics. Her previous record aboard the USS Lancaster is exemplary. Her students apart from a few all passed their lingual and humanitarian tests with flying colors. I hope that she will integrate with the crew well – although, she seems to have a few peculiarities about her.

As it was the new year, the USS Starship Enterprise had docked at their United Federation of Planet’s Spacedock orbiting Earth. The Enterprise was scheduled for a few minor repairs and the changing of a few officers who had requested a transfer to various Starbases throughout the sector.

Lt. Commander Data had been given orders from Capt. Jean-Luc Picard to monitor the incoming passengers, ensigns, and cargo. He was busy scanning the luggage of one of the new teachers who was transferring to the Enterprise. Data’s auditory sensors picked up a conversation that was several feet away despite the din of movement around him. Two ensigns were having a heated discussion as they walked amongst the cargo.

“Have you met the new instructor of the humanities yet? I heard that on her last tour with a starship, she made all of her students bow to her when she came into a room. And that she only eats vegetables! Like real ones, not replicated ones!” The male ensign jibbed the female in her ribs playfully.

“No! I have heard the rumors that she is quite eccentric.” The female ensign laughed aloud, “I heard she wears…glasses? Is that the correct word for them?” Her voice dropped conspiratorially to a low whisper.

“I believe so. She wears them on her face. Much like Georgi La Forge has his visor. It’s so odd. Why wouldn’t she just get her eyes replaced rather than rely on such an antiquated…” The other replied as they passed into the corridor and the doors slipped shut behind them.

A sudden hand, large and warm clapped over his shoulder. “Eavesdropping is not becoming such a sophisticated android as yourself,” The laugh was jovial and familiar. “Commander Riker.” Data spoke, his eyebrows elevating to indicate the human emotion of surprise, “I was not dropping eaves of any kind, sir.”

“No, Data, it means…”

“Ah. The act of secretly listening to a conversation. Spying. Snooping. Prying. I understand, sir, but I was not trying to. I simply have higher auditory processing skills than humans.”

“There’s nothing simple about you, Mr. Data,” Riker chuckled to himself. “We have a welcome party for the newcomers to the Enterprise scheduled after their orientation this evening. It is meant as part of our new year celebration! You should come. There might be some attractive young ladies for you to meet.”

The commander winked in his usual debonair fashion and walked away with loping strides, presumably toward the bridge. “Captain’s orders are for you to return to the Bridge when you have completed the scanning of the new cargo.”

“Yes, Commander.” Data nodded even though the Commander was already out of the airlock and unavailable to see his assent. Returning to the task at hand, Data took quick account of the number of books – real books- located on the anti-grav sled’s boxes.

“Why might one collect so many books when all of these are available for download on any PADD ?” Data inwardly congratulated himself for once again asking himself a question aloud as any human would when presented with an interesting and unforeseen occurrence.

“One might simply prefer the feeling of pages betwixt one’s fingers rather than the cold compliance of a PADD.” A female voice spoke from behind him. He seemed to be experiencing rather many interruptions during such a mundane task – how unusual. Data pivoted automatically to face the owner of the voice.

He began to take account of the human woman’s appearance and compare that appearance to the files on record for the current and transferred personnel for the Enterprise. Her muted brown hair was wrapped in a loose bun atop her head with a shimmering silver ribbon which matched the metallic nature of the glasses that graced atop her slender nose whose rounded tip glowed red in the cold of the room. Her outfit was not one of a Starfleet officer, but that of an instructor – flowing pants and shoes with a hard, but scuffed heel. Ink stains dotted the inside of her right sleeve – intriguing.

“Instructor of the Humanities Viola C. Robinson.”

“Yes, that is correct, but I do not have the luxury of knowing who you are.” A small smile graced her face, as she adjusted her glasses higher on the bridge of her nose.

“Lieutenant Commander Data of the USS Enterprise, but Instructor Robinson, I would not deem knowledge of myself as a human luxury.”

A chuckle issued from her lips, Viola’s smile grew wider and she took steps forward to place herself beside him, an affectionate hand rested on the cargo. “Is that so, Lieutenant Commander Data?”

“Yes, I am an android, but unlike other machines, I am not tailored for human consumption, accessibility, and comfort. Rather, I am sentient and capable of making my own choices,” Data replied returning to his scan of the cargo seeing quickly that most were works of fiction as well as a Klingon text.

“An android, you say? You appear a man as any I have ever encountered.” She turned her eyes to him examining through the lenses of her spectacles.

Data tilted his head to the side and started to speak, but she waved her hand to stop him.

“Speaking of your previous query: My books are…as much alive as the characters in their pages and the trees they were printed on so long ago. I have made many efforts to keep them preserved. I think it is best my students not only read about the history and stories of our humanity but to feel it, smell it as their writer’s intended.” Data listen patiently, watching her eyes turn soft in thought.

“I believe I understand. You think that by allowing an experience to accompany the transfer of knowledge you can imprint the feelings the author meant to convey. I have observed that with humans the olfactory senses can provoke more memory responses. Your belief appears to have sound evidence, Instructor.” Their eyes met for a brief moment, Data took note that her temperature increased .005 degrees and her face seemed to experience encouraged blood flow.

“If I may say so, your temperature has risen slightly and you appear flushed. I might suggest you go to sick bay, Doctor Beverly Crusher could catch any ailment before…” Data was left with his mouth hanging open as she turned away seemingly to not heed his suggestions. She was halfway to the door before she turned, face redder than before. “If you leave your mouth open, you are likely to catch flies, Lieutenant Commander.”

And with that, she was gone.

“But -- There are no flies on the Enterprise.” He said to no one.
