I WILL CONTINUE TO THINK THIS AND HOW COMPETATIVE EVERYONE IS ESPECIALLY PROFESSOR MCGONAGALL, SNAPE AND DUMBLEDORE CAUSE HECK
So, hear me out…
Drama taught at Hogwarts. Teaching pure bloods, half bloods and muggle borns the art of theatre and instead of having to use massive theatrical lights, having spells for lighting cues, and being able to pull off major stunts. Not needing to spend hefts of money on lighting, hanging mics, microphones, head sets, spacing, and so on - cause you had magic, the great hall (which could be turned into a performance and rehearsal space - or even the room of requirement and having special performances), other departments for physical changes such as Caliban in The Tempest, flowers and plants for set design such as A Midsummer Nights Dream, and soooooo many other things. The only time magic isn’t used is when the actors actually act. They’re taught the art of theatre, learning lines, being someone else.
Teaching them about Shakespeare, Brekt, Stanislavsky, Arthur Miller, contemporary theatre, theatre for children, further play writes, musical theatre, absolute belters, show tunes, serious topics like Angels In America and the aids epidemic, letting them express their sexuality, themselves, explore other plays and find their forte.
Teachers getting so competitive when their house has a smashing opening night, or just being competitive in general, they want their house to be the best - to have the students be their best. It is a constant battle of showing their capability, a healthy obsession.
Students making their own versions of the founding of Hogwarts and working together to create a masterpiece, future actors, dancers, directors, producers and so many more being given the ability to do some ART, to show their potentional in the magical music/acting/dancing world. Even dancing classes, drama sessions, clubs, how to direct, produce, and so many more skills being taught. It being a mandatory subject up until they can choose to carry it on.
Cause lets be real, theatre at Hogwarts would be so brilliant, and magical. The only magic that isn’t used is the students talent.

What’s REALLY inside the Hufflepuff Common Room
A/N: A lovely anon has requested me to continue doing another of these common room posts. I’ve considered making this into a four part series, and since I’ve been feeling the Hufflepuff vibe recently, this is part 2 of what’s really inside the xx common room series ~
Tumblr media
I’d say that this is the house that has a the most versatile things going on in their common rooms
home vibes oh my gosh
the earthy, green tones are so comfortable to be around
not to mention that because of the plants that are situated inside the common room, it’s also the most environmental friendly, contrast to the other common rooms
Just like the other houses’ common rooms have multiple floors, there’s a secret staircase in the Hufflepuff common room that leads to the indoor garden downstairs: the students, under the guidance of Professor Sprout, can experiment with all kinds of plants, including fruits, and spices
secret garden vibes in real life
now let’s talk about location. like I’ve said before, because of it’s close proximity to the kitchens, the students have a GREAT advantage in sneaking in foods
Keep reading

How the different traits are expressed in each house
A Gryffindor is brave when they are unafraid to do the right thing, no matter the damages done to them. A Hufflepuff is brave when they extend kindness to everyone; even if it puts their own social standing at risk; even if the person they are reaching out to may not be ready for their love. A Slytherin is brave in their absolution to succeed in any of their pursuits; they will not back down, and this takes admirable strength. A Ravenclaw is brave when the question the conventional, and challenge all that has been previously regarded as the irrefutable truth. Nothing will stop them from pushing the boundaries of all that is known.
A Gryffindor is kind when they are the voice for the voiceless; when they will throw all their dazzling ferocity into ensuring that those on the bottom are not trampled on. A Hufflepuff is kind when they put others needs before their own; they do not feel right if someone is suffering while they are perfectly fine. Your wounds will become their own as they stand by your side and help you heal. A Slytherin is kind when they continually have your back; they will let no damage be done to you. They will find a way to help you succeed without getting hurt. A Ravenclaw is kind when they accept even the most outcast, and never make you feel as if you are not enough. You will always be enough to them.
A Gryffindor is cunning in their ability to find a way to get justice; they will go under the table if they are able to recognize that brute force will not get them any closer to what is right. A Hufflepuff is cunning when the find a way to make their work easier; they will not manipulate, but may find themselves being very persuasive in order to recruit help. A Slytherin is cunning in that they know what to say or do to get what they need. Whether or not they do this by decieving or simply trading favors, a Slytherin always seems to be aware of what needs to be done. A Ravenclaw is cunning in that they always see the greater picture; they can see how everything connects, and can see how to manipulate these conjoined dots to achieve their ingenuity.
A Gryffindor is intelligent in their unique way of absorbing new information if it pertains to their cause. Like Hermione learning to make the Polyjuice potion, Gryffindors will quickly learn a new skill if they need to, and find themselves enjoying it in the process. A Hufflepuff is intelligent in their ability to read people; they understand relationships and emotions and how intricate the workings of the human soul can be. They will seem to see right through you, and they can. Slytherins are intelligent in that they can learn all the facts and fast, and find a way to use these facts to achieve their ends. They store away information until they need it later, and it can be quite astonishing how much they really know. A Ravenclaw is intelligent in their love for learning; they want to understand and comprehend everything there is to know. With knowledge comes clarity, and their minds are desperate for it.

So,
I need help with a story I’m writing and want to know what you’d want to include or how you’d start it.... it’s going to be a little cross over of Harry Potter and Nordic fiction, where a girl who somehow went to school with the Mauraunders and comes back years later after being in Asgard. She has an old magic that is very rare and is known for protecting royals and she is very sought after so people can bottle it. She’s Harry’s godmother and yeah..... help?

Imagine having been taken with Bucky by Hydra and going through the programme with him, but you had managed to escape, stay hidden & recollect yourself. & after years of being free, only just getting by, you heard about the battle going on against Thanos, & somehow managed to get to Wakanda & surprise Steve and Bucky by fighting with them.

it makes me incredibly fucking sad that luke didn’t get to see his twin sister as a bride. like he couldn’t be part of one of the happiest moments of her life. and she couldn’t be there when he was 2 years clean and 10 years clean and just there for all the happy events.
i feel like hill house didn’t just give them a life full of nightmares and robbed them of their innocence, it also stole their youth from them, it stole all the things they could have shared with one another and then some.

cinderella marries the prince
and it’s… fine. The prince is great! They’re in love, he’s very sweet and passionate, writing her poems and songs, giving her anything she wants. The time she spends with her husband is great.
but cinderella is not royalty, her family was noble but she never spent time in those circles. She’s used to being busy, she’s used to cooking and cleaning and mending. There are hours, days, where she has nothing to do.
time passes. cinderella learns the fancy lady type of needlework. Learns to ride horses. Reads a lot.
as is normal for royalty at the time, they travel and are hosted by nobles or stay at castles owned by the king. But even that variety begins to become routine. The prince is distracted, there’s a lot of young women living and working on their route. Daughters of nobles. Younger and prettier with soft hands that have never done a day’s work.
cinderella needs something to spend her time on, and there’s a part of her thinking a couple-only trip might get her husband’s attention again, so she suggests making an old castle that’s fallen into disrepair their “project.” It was built in the time when castles were made to be defensible, so it’s quite sturdy, but it’s overgrown and secluded. The prince doesn’t know why his family stopped living there either. A hundred years ago it was their summer home.
so they go. And they work. And for a while it’s great! But when they leave for winter cinderella’s husband forgets her once again. cinderella resolves to make the best of her life and stop worrying about a man who has gotten what he wanted from her.
summer comes again and this time cinderella goes alone to the old castle (minus staff, of course, but cinderella manages to narrow it down to only repair workers and one maid). She can cook and clean and mend again, but this time it’s her own choice. She is happy.
this summer they make more progress on repairs. The workers say that most of it can be salvaged, except one tower that’s been completely overgrown with vines and briars. It will have to come down, eventually, but for now it can be safely ignored.
cinderella has more free time now. The old castle has a surprisingly untouched library, though time and moisture have damaged many of the books. Behind a collection of greek poetry cinderella finds an old diary. Very old, in fact, at least a hundred years. It’s rude to read a diary, of course, but whoever wrote this is long dead, and cinderella is bored, so…
from the description of activities the author looks to have been nobility. Maybe even a princess. She’s sensitive and sweet and smarter than she seems to realize. If circumstances had been different cinderella wishes they could have been friends…
after the summer ends cinderella returns to her husband. He’s spending a lot of time with a young musician and cinderella can’t even work up the energy to care. She does some research about the castle and the family she’s married into, finds out the name of the princess who wrote the diary.
aurora. Cursed and forgotten. She died young, they say, in a plague that also took out the castle staff and her own parents. Luckily they avoided a succession crisis, but not so lucky for the dead.
time passes. cinderella goes to the old castle again and again, even out of season. Soon enough all that remains to be done is the old tower, and the builders say they should tear it down and fill the gaps before it gets cold.
one night cinderella is restless. The princess from the diary had been fond of that tower, and cinderella is far more attached to a dead woman than she ought to be. She gets out of bed, reads by candlelight, and finally goes to walk the empty halls.
she finds herself going to the tower. Pushing past the vines that don’t seem so troublesome really. They almost part before her. The stairs are perfectly intact, the door at the top is already cracked open. As if she should have done this years ago, cinderella steps into aurora’s bedroom.
she’s as beautiful as the stories say. And sitting under her hands, crossed across her stomach as it rises and falls, is a book of greek poetry.
years later, people will tell the story of cinderella as a cautionary one. Don’t seek above your station. Don’t marry for prestige. After all, a girl who grew up as a servant once married the crown prince, and disappeared after only three years. She ran away, they say, she couldn’t handle the lifestyle.
two old women who run a bookshop together agree with the lesson. Marrying for the wrong reasons never ends well. It’s best to wait for someone you have things in common with, shared interests.
or, failing that, the more linguistic of the two says, wait a decade or ten for someone to fall in love with you from your diary.
her partner laughs and hits her with the socks she is mending.
