Popping back on Tumblr for a hot sec because no one irl that I know can appreciate this but...

MY PROF WORKS FOR MARVEL AS A CONSULTANT FOR ALL THEIR SCIENCE-Y SERUMS!!

She literally told us that she helped to develop what the super soldier serum would be if it actually existed and how it would impact a literal human being to make it more realistic. She also said she developed other things for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and other Marvel works??? But didn't go into detail about all that stuff. I am just LOSING my mind!!

She's going to San Diego Comic Con, Dragon Con, and a few other big cons this year (and goes to them a lot) as a Marvel affiliate scientist and speaks at panels on the works she's done for them

And she just causally dropped this in class and now I am losing my mind

Cause myopia and hypermetropia aren't infections, they're distortions in the shape of the eyeball, which causes the lens to either get thicker or thinner and changes the position inside our eyes where the image is formed.

So I've seen a lot of debates and questions on if Steve Rogers kid would have traits from the Super Soldier Serum or not, if his kid would be like Pre-Serum Steve Rogers, etc. Personally, I think that his kid would have traits from the Serum. Let me explain my reasoning behind that.

So, firstly, the Serum changed Steve's DNA, right? The Serum basically changed his DNA to enhance his strength, senses, etc. If it just changed his cells, then, in theory, once those cells died out, the new cells his body produced would be the same ones Pre-Serum Steve had, hence, the Serum had to change his DNA so that new cells produced would be Super Soldier ones.

Then, in The First Avenger, Peggy states, and I quote, "Any hope of reproducing the program is locked in your genetic code." Now, genetic code means DNA. She says, or at least indirectly implies, that the Serum altered Steve's DNA.

Steve's child could be born with asthma or something, but I feel like that would be only if the mother had. The Serum eradicated Steve's asthma, right? So his kid might not have all the traits from the Serum because most likely the mother would be a regular human being, not genetic modifications whatsoever.

Isaiah being abandonned and mistreated for the very same reason that Steve Roger got praised is something that truly make me emotional.

They both went against orders and infiltrated an enemy base to save all the prisoners, but in return, Steve was applauded and Isaiah was shushed. Once has years of glory and the other was treated as a lab rat.

I mean, Steve's life as Captain America was never easy, but he didn't live what Isaiah went through.

"They will never let a black man be captain America. And even if they do, no respectful black man would ever want to be Captain America." He's so fucking hurt, and he's so right to be hurt, and he's angry and it's so fair for him to be. Yeah I'm crying.

just thinking about the lil discussion zemo bucky and sam had about super soldiers and zemo was like “wanting to take the serum is rooted in supremacist beliefs, anyone who takes the serum inevitably is corrupted” and bucky was like “then how come steve rogers wasn’t then”

steve didn’t want to take the serum is the thing. that’s literally the whole point. he took it because he thought it would help in the fight against the nazis, because at the end of the day what he wanted to do was to stand up for the little guys. he didn’t take it because he wanted all that glory and power like red skull, he took it because he thought he could contribute more to society. dr erskine knew this about steve and that’s exactly fucking why he chose him.

another thing too is that sam also doesn’t want the serum. zemo asks sam, “if u were offered the serum, would u take it” and sam’s like “no.” tbh idk why. does it have to do with isaiah? with bucky? with karli? idk. would sam take the serum if the motive for taking it was an altruistic one (like helping save the universe)? idk.
