I hope everyone reading this is doing well. Even if not, I hope you’re doing well right now. The world is/has always been a dangerous scary place and a global pandemic only heightens that. However, I think it’s important to be empathetic with others, spread love and a helping hand, and to connect with others right now more than ever. Tip extra (if you’re American) on delivery, share the information of those who need crowdfunding. Whatever ways you feel like you can help is worth it.

But more than ever, I hope that you’re able to find moments to breathe and relax. I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home, so I’ve been trying to build more time to let myself do nothing and not stress about getting shit done. It’s hard, especially for my hyperactive brain and imagination, but more than anything, shame and guilt start engulfing me telling me I’m not working hard enough and not worth much because of it. I always feel this need to prove my worth to others by working hard and making art or being productive. That’s been hard to balance. I have a pretty toxic relationship to my own self worth and I’m trying to unlearn some of that day by day.

I wanted to send love to others who might be experiencing some of the destructive or toxic thoughts that I’ve had when holed up in my apartment, unable to really travel around the city much. If you’re feeling doubt, shame, or fear about things going on or things that aren’t going on with you, remember that however you wish to spend your time these days is not only valid but it’s important. Whether you’ve been binging netflix shows, or trying to change your diet/work out more, or whether you’re eating only junk food, or you’re trying to stay mad productive and create a bunch of work, or you’re playing a bunch of Animal Crossing or other games, etc. No matter how you’re spending this time, remember that it’s important. If you feel unsatisfied with how you’ve been spending time, ask yourself if you’re enjoying what you’re doing or if it’s good for you or if it’s important to you. If you said no to these questions, then change what you’re doing. Find something that’s bringing purpose or value into your life. It’s all about balance.

So far, the things that bring purpose into my life right now is smoking weed and playing Second Life lol. Happy 420.

I’ve been spending less time on reflecting this past year and more fixated on the future. I’m very excited for 2019 and what it will bring. Amongst my goals for Second Life in 2019, I want to produce more photographs and begin to produce some videos too. Ideally, I’d like to organize my inventory. I’d like to spend less. I’d also like to feel more comfortable going at my own pace. It is a lot to be a human being, as well as a student, an artist, an employee, etc. But I also want to make work for Second Life at my own pace.

Spooky Season Never Ends!

This post has been long overdue, but I’ve been struggling with some personal difficulties as of lately and working through balancing school with personal work and it’s always a push and pull.

I dressed up as HIM from Powerpuff Girls for Halloween! Him has always been a character I’ve been particularly drawn to, for the ways he has been allowed to be devilishly mischievous, stunting, and evil. But evenmoreso, he was one of the first arguably trans and/or gender-non-conforming cartoon characters I had ever seen in my upbringing. My fixation on Him is partly a conversation about representation but also about queer awakenings for young LGBTQA+ people.

On another note, I want to say thank you to those who voted. I spent the other night crying in bed (happy tears), over the wildly amazing results of women of color being elected into congress, LGBTQA+ governors and senators making history. Barriers are being broken down. I can be confident to look towards future generations and believe that equal opportunity is amongst us. If you didn’t vote, please please please do vote next opportunity you get. Next chance you get to register, please do! Your voice is just as important as everyone else’s.

New Skin! And a bitch is back from an unannounced hiatus!

Hey y’all! I have the tendency to come and go from Second Life as I please, mostly due to me struggling with balancing SL with RL. I’m sure many other people can relate with me on this. However, I was beginning to start exploring a few different projects this past summer but unfortunately, my Mac died on me, and I lost all of those projects, which was really disheartening for me. It took me a bit to come up with money to buy a new computer but now I have one! And being back on Second Life has been really exciting and enjoyable. I’m slowly getting back into posting more actively before I try to tackle any larger projects at the moment, but if you’re interested in collaborating or working on something, definitely please send me a NC or IM or DM on tumblr/instagram/flickr!

Thank you.

New year, new avatar, new work. And I guess, maybe, a new me.

I haven’t been posting much because I’ve been kinda taking a break as I wind down from school, from work, and as I approach going into 2018 with questions of “what am I doing” and “what work do I want to make?” I haven’t fully figured out the answer to those questions. I’m still trying to undestand how my photographs will go forward. But that’s okay. I wanted to say thank you. To all who have followed and supported my work this past year of 2017 and to those who have especially aided me in feeling situated in Second Life. Thanks to Hotdog, thanks to Clem, thanks to Cassie, everyone really. Much love and above to all. I’ll put out some new work out soon. I’m going to Los Angeles irl in a few days for a week or so and being in a new city will help excite me to figure out new things!

The past few weeks have been incredibly hectic for me in real life. School ended, I had a gallery showing of some work, and I finally left one of my day jobs I’ve been meaning to leave since October. Now the storm has passed mildly and getting back into making work for Second Life has been a bit difficult but definitely enjoyable. I made this lookbook back late November and just haven’t had the time to post it. Now that I have more time on my hands, I’m hoping I’ll have more time to make more posts. Some changes might happen with some of my older posts. This Thanksgiving, I’m thinking about a Filipino folklore surrounding a ghoul/vampire called the Aswang. In doing this, I’ve had to think a lot about the colonization of my homeland in the Philippines and also the colonization of the Americas. There’s a lot of pain and difficulty with talking about these topics but extreme value with recognizing this pain and difficulty and attempting to remedy it with the way we talk about uniting and respecting each other. Part of trying to move forward is recognizing and understanding history. So this Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for my voice, for people who listen. I’m thankful for community, for family, for my ancestors. I’m thankful for the voices and people who persisted even though history tried to bury their fight. And I’m thankful to celebrate living.

It’s been a rough bit of few weeks lately as I’ve been trying to balance changes happening. Recently I’ve moved and started working more jobs so there’s a lot of chaos engulfing me in real life. With school starting in a few days, I’ve mostly been trying to find the time to focus on balancing and incorporating second life into my mix. But alas, here is my first lookbook post.
