Somehow Palpatine Returned
Ok I had a hilarious thought and I need to share it with all of you. I don’t normally venture into the Sequels, for all that I have been a FinnPoe and a FinnPoeRey shipper for years, or into anything close to canon,  but I want to share this with you.
Picture if you will the moment where Poe is telling the audience that ‘Somehow Palpatine has returned’. Ponder for a moment Obi Wan Kenobi, in the Force, at that moment. The look on his face.
We are going with, somehow, Palpatine managed to hide his real identity from the Force Ghosts so they did not know he was still alive.
We are also, from my own personal headcanon, going with the idea that Obi Wan severely dislikes (as close to hate as he is capable of) Palpatine and has for almost fifty years at this point.  Like 90% of the horrible things that happened in Obi Wan’s adult life can be traced back to Palpatine (both directly and indirectly).
At the moment that Poe reveals that Palpatine is back, in the Force Obi Wan starts swearing. He starts swearing in every language he knows. He starts mixing languages in his swears. He starts inventing new curses and new languages to be able to express his displeasure at the news.
Obi Wan Kenobi is about ready to materialize into the mortal plane for the sole purpose of ripping Palpatine’s arm off and beating him with it (in a way that violates all manner of physics and Force).
Slightly to the Left of Obi Wan, Anakin Skywalker is staring at his grandson in mild horror going ‘why are you…this’.
The Force starts manifesting people to calm Obi Wan Kenobi down (For fear that Obi Wan will break…everything). First Force Sensitives and Jedi he cared for, then Clones, then non force sensitives, even a few old enemies.
Note 1: Maul appears at one point and screams ‘Kenobi’ for a really long time, to the point that everyone else (other than Obi Wan) looks at him. He shrugs and goes ‘I just wanted to get your attention’ then goes to sit down next to Satine so they can both score Obi Wan’s curses while splitting a bottle of Force Wine.
Note 2: Maul and Satine have a weirdly cordial relationship for being a pacifist government official ex girlfriend of a Jedi and the Sith Warlord that murdered her in front of said Jedi, but they have found in the afterlife that they both get joy from the face Obi wan makes when they argue about something inane with him. Also they may be each scoring Obi Wan’s swears (with the occasional addition of Yoda, Dooku, Ventress, and Padme) but they are using different metrics so their scores are vastly different at all time (Maul is scoring on Creativity, Violence, and the number of organs violated; Satine is scoring on creativity, number of languages used, how poetic/rhythmic, and how well it translates into basic).
A battalion's worth of clones are arrayed around Obi Wan, taking notes. Quinlan Vos appears and vanishes in rapid succession as he helps to calm then egg Obi Wan on (at which point the Force yanks him away only to be convinced to put him back). Cody tries to calm Obi Wan down for precisely three minutes, then he realizes what has Obi Wan so steamed. At that point he goes ‘no this reaction is completely valid’ and starts discussing how one would make some of those curses a reality (as they do violate physics, the Force, and human structural integrity. Also Palpatine does not even have some of those organs) with Qui Gonn Jinn, who is deeply amused but happy to bond with his pseudo son in law.
Plo Koon wanders through and announces that he is adopting all of the new stormtroopers both dead and living (in the mortal plane Finn, Rose, and others suddenly get the feeling that they have been absconded with and have no idea why).
In one corner Anakin, still despairing over Kylo Ren/Ben Solo and his life choices, is having an ongoing yet supremely awkward family reunion with one or more of the following at any given point and time: his wife, whom he had a hand in killing; his daughters adoptive parents, whom he helped murder; his daughter’s husband, who he tortured, froze in carbonite, and sold to a bounty hunter; and his step brother and step sister in law that rose his son on a planet that Anakin hated, whom he only didn’t torture because he never remembered they existed; Assorted Jedi who he had been close to, whom he might of had a hand in murdering.
That one corner has so much passive aggressiveness that it is insane.  A lot of Anakin asking out loud why Kylo Ren is…like that with one or more of the previously listed people going ‘Maybe if his grandfather didn’t become a Sith, Ben wouldn’t have gotten the idea’. Which is both slightly unfair, as Anakin had been dead by the time Ben Solo was born, but also funny as anything.
Also no one in that corner was actually discussing their elephant in the room, which was Anakin turned out to be THE PROBLEM for two decades.
There is an ever growing parade of everyone Obi Wan has ever met being thrown at him by the Force because the Force effectively went: SHIT that is a lot of anger. Deflect.Deflect.

Adoption in Comics
Found family and adoption are big themes in comics. i see a lot of talk about found family, as i think that really hits home for a lot of the tumblr comics fandom and rightly so. So for this post im focusing on adoption, legal or otherwise. A guarding and ward relationship, which can be parent and child or looser terms.
Many of the most well known and beloved heroes were adopted or have adopted children of their own. It invites discussion of nature vs nurture, of dsymorphia, of choice. It can be a situation that's terrible, or it can be a salvation. It can be done for all the wrong reasons and lead to a disconnect of expectation vs reality. It can be full of love but still lead to missteps.
But before i go any further, a poll. Id like to get some background on the fandom here, so please consider reblogging.
Note for the poll: "Strangers" meaning someone who did not know your birth family prior to the adoption
I wish there were more poll options to also ask the adopted part of the fanbase if they are a different ethnicity from their adoptive family, as that usually has a huge impact on their experiences. For example, I'm Korean but my parents are white US Americans. I grew up in an area of some diversity but not a lot, in that all my closest friends were white and all of my extended family was white. And because of that, my ethnic heritage was something ive had to actively seek out and choose to make part of my identity. It also meant that i just plain did not look like my family or peers, and so stereotypes and assumptions (good and bad) have been put on me at times.
Economic status also plays a role. Im mostly pulling from past knowledge of adoption agencies, but it's not exactly inexpensive, and of course financial stability is one of the big things agencies look for. So it ends up being that a good chunk of adoptive parents are fairly well off, in the upper middle class range. And that in itself can be alienating. This wasnt my personal situation but I knew of others where it was.
I might need to make a series of posts about how all this pertains to comics. It could really be a Master's thesis topic. But for now I'd love to hear other people's thoughts on adoption in comics. What feelings do you have about it? Have you given it much thought? How do the socioeconomic statuses of the adoptive family inform the characters and their actions? Does race with respect to adopter/adoptee play a part in the dynamics of what's going on in the stories you read?
I of course have tons and tons of my own opinions on all this, but I genuinely would like to hear from others. This includes fans who arent adopted! Your readings and interpretations are valid on this subject too! Youre really the average reader, the main demographic. So it's interesting to hear opinions from that perspective as well. And if you are adopted and feel like sharing your thoughts on comics, please please do.
Oh! And one last thing, feel free to tag or list comics characters who are adopted or who have adopted someone. I'd be interested to see how many there really are!

So Barbara right?: Obviously much like Steph, much of Barbara's story happens independent of the batfam so there's nothing really to change. I'd say the only key difference is that she's moreso Jason's friend than anyone else's (you know cause it'd be fun).
It's finally Dick's time to shine: To celebrate Jason's official adoption, the Wayne's go to the new circus in town. The happy atmosphere of the night is quickly cut short by screams of terror as the flying Grayson couple falls to their deaths. Cass is the first to react, rushing over to the Grayson child and shielding him before he can see (or hear) them hit the ground. The other Wayne children are quick to follow, expertly dealing with the frightened crowd and leading them out of the tent in an orderly fashion. Bruce is the last one to take action, meeting up with Commission Gordon to detail what transpired. When all the dust has settled, the audience has left, the bodies have been taken away, and Dick Grayson is an orphan.
Naturally Bruce defaults on his trusty dusty tactic of simply becoming the boy's guardian but there's a snag this time, the state won't let him. They go on and on about how Dick is an emotional child and he needs a lot of one on one attention and he wouldn't get the proper support he needs in the manor and bla bla bla. Which would all be valid points, if the state didn't just turn around and put the poor kid in a boys home. Bruce is obviously pissed. Beyond pissed in fact. But until the courts rule in his favor, his hands are tied. You know whose hands aren't tied though? Damian's. Damian is a full scale legal adult who lives on his own and has the backing of his father (who just so happens to be one of the richest men on Earth). The state has no choice but to meekly hand the boy over.
Dick is a feral little monster. Constantly angry, constantly lashing out. He far surpasses early days Jason in sheer ferocity alone. But Damian is undeterred. He knows feral. He's seen feral. He WAS feral. This brat will not break him. Damian starts employing the methods his father used to help him deal with his emotions back in his "I just found out I'm the son of assassins and I'm so angsty" phase. Mainly the method of punching your feelings away. He gets Dick a punching bag and also trains him in every martial art/self defense method under the sun. When that proves to still not be enough, he does the next best thing, he takes Dick with him out on patrols. Dick finally starts working through all of his emotions surrounding his parents death, especially when he starts getting leads on who killed them. Eventually, he finally figures out who killed his parents and where they are and he's out for blood. He tries to sneak out but Damian is already waiting for him by the window. Dick prepares to get into a fight, only for his gear to be tossed at him with Damian already climbing out the window. He's stunned for a moment but he's also not about to look a gift horse in the mouth. So the two go to catch Tony Zucco together and the rest is history (Bruce nearly has a heart attack when he finds out Dick is Damian's sidekick. Why does no one in his family want to be normal!?).

People of tumblr may I present to you the
Fictional Cat Showdown
(it's orange because cats)
(inspired by oh so many other competitions like @bisexual-monarch-tournament, @aroaceswagcompetition, @weirdgirlshowdown, @transgenderswagcompetition, @the-best-fictional-turtle and so many more)
I have looked around and decided that tumblr has been having an abysmal lack of cats. So I come here to give you a chance to pin your favourite fictional cat blorbos against each other. Maybe they will fight to death. Maybe they will cuddle and fall asleep. Maybe they will adopt each other. The only way to find out is to make this an event of a lifetime!
The only cat I have granted automatic entry is Baron Humbert von Gikkingen from The Cat Returns specifically (although his first appearance in I don't remember what other movie is still valid) because I can and he's my crush. So, the rest of the bracket is up to you! Yes, you specifically! Get your fav cats out there!!
Read the guidelines below and submit your cats here!!!
[Edit: submissions closed, stay tuned for the brackets!!!]
Now, what constitutes a fictional cat?
Don't give me just regular hoomans with decorative cat ears! They need to have actual feline features to qualify! They can be furry/anthro, sure. Or just a regular cat! Or a robot! Or a canonical alternate universe cat version of a human character! Ideally they need to have more cat-like features than just ye olde cute cat ears given to them for the sake of a design choice. But if it's a human with functioning cat features... They do qualify (Catra is too obvious so let's take Leona from Twisted Wonderland as an example here). Also humans that can turn into cats or vice versa are eligible, BUT they should have spent a considerable amount of plot time in the narrative as a cat, not just this five minute episode once and never speak about it again (so, Cat!Sophie from Castle in the Air would qualify, because, you know, she spent most of the book as a cat AND gave birth to a kitten, and Howl doesn't count, because he only ever turned into a wet cat for three seconds to escape the Witch). And last but not least, it can be cat-shaped while not being a cat per se (e.g. Puppycat). Or something that is a very questionable yet still cat (like Khoshekh from WTNV who was called a cat despite having uh very few cat features judging by his description and a lot more creepy weird things)
Oh, and also it doesn't have to be a house cat. Any feline is good. You can give me lions if you want.
Anyway, just submit your cats and I'll figure it out from there!
The poll will be up for about a week, so till Saturday February 18. If this suddenly gets traction (which I hope it does!!! cats are great!!!) and gets plenty of suggestions I will be closing it earlier, so stay tuned and hurry up to submit ye cats! 😺

Fischl is her own person, damn it
But they way people talk about her often denies her the agency to define herself for herself. So I wrote down some thoughts about self-definition, identity, and why this kinda bothers me.
I really adore Fischl (she’s just like me, fr fr) and it kinda rubs me the wrong way when people refer to her birth name as her ‘real’ name. Like, it implies that names are immutable and that adopting an identity that suits you is merely a cosmetic choice. As far as the text of the game is concerned, she’s only ever referred to by her preferred name by friends while her birth name has only come up in relation to obviously very painful memories of her family. Her edgy chuuni /goofy kinny vibe hides a rather complex character. She refuses to become the person she’s been socially constructed to be and instead chooses to become someone she actually wants to be. The idea that her birth name is somehow ‘real’ strips away her entire thematic identity as well as her personal agency as an actor in the text by implicitly arguing that everything we know her as is nothing more than a costume hiding the ‘real’ person beneath.
Which, like, it clearly isn’t!
The summer event last year made it pretty clear that even in her heart of hearts, she understands herself as Fischl. She isn’t and she knows that she isn’t the literal Princess Fischl, but that doesn’t make her really ‘Amy’. Rather, it makes her Fischl, Mondstadt’s resident Adventurer’s Guild Investigator and local eccentric. It makes her the person her friends clearly care enough about to not only accept her identity at face value but also to embrace her quirks by playing along with them. There’s an implicit recognition there of how much it can hurt to have the reality of one’s self-constructed identity denied. The text of the game goes out of its way to repeatedly validate Fischl’s claim to being herself and goes so far as to literally blank out her birth name in character stories.
The Fischl we meet in game is the real Fischl. Not in the sense of numerical identity with the textually fictional character but rather in the sense that there exists a real person named Fischl with whom people interact with as such. She’s real insofar as the people care about her most understand and accept that there is a flesh and blood person with an eccentric personality and kind heart named Fischl.
Of course, I can’t really do anything to stop people from discussing/head-canoning/whatever about Fischl qua Amy. She’s yours to interpret as you wish, but just know that I - a stranger from the internet - am judging you from afar for hurting her feelings.

hi, i know i shouldn’t ask but do you think that ai turo would have been a good dad to arven and would turo try to fix relationship with his son if he was still around?
My ask box is always open, feel free to ask anything!
Gonna put a CW here for bad parenting, trauma and death
Coming to question number one, even if I find the idea of AI Turo taking care of Arven cute, I don't think it would bring any good to either of them for a few reasons. First of all, AI Turo is not the professor. For as much as he can resemble him, he'll never be the same being. I remember someone in my asks saying that "there can't be two of the same person" and I totally agree. Clones, robot replicas etc... the moment they are brought into existence, they start living their own experiences and this by itself means they are not the same as the individual they were based off. They take their own path, make their own choices, experiences and learnings - all things that shape people, making them unique.
Of course, AI Turo could be an adoptive father to Arven, but is this what he actually wants? Just because he was created as a copy of the professor, it doesn't mean that he should take his place. To be honest, I think taking the professor's place is exactly the last thing the AI wants. He has been dreaming of his own individuality and freedom all his life, and now that he has the chance to live his dreams I think he should go for it. Obviously, I'm not saying that leaving Arven was easy for him - he still has the professor's memories and knowledge, but he also understands that he can't make up for those years when Arven was lonely, presumably the most important years of a child development and growth.
And I think Arven knows this as well. He knows his father has missed that train, he just struggles to accept it. The feeling I have about his whole quest to find him is that he's still looking for a good reason behind his behaviour. A reason that, no matter how valid, would never satisfy him or bring back those years.
So, would AI Turo staying bring him any good? We don't know, but my personal opinion here is no. There are wounds that are way too deep to heal and will stay forever in the form of scars. My personal feeling is that, by the end of the story, Arven starts to cope with those scars for the first time, learning how to look at them without crying. In a way, he got his closure. It's bittersweet and certainly not the best a lost kid can hope for, but it's realistic, hence why I like the ending so much.
Coming to your second question, my answer here is maybe. I say maybe because the only interaction we have with the professor himself is through the PPP, and perhaps when we beat AI Turo (and the Professor Turo? dialogue box appears). I don't think we can exclude any option here, we know him way too little, but I have my own interpretation and I'm planning to write about it, sooner or later.

capullo
hmmmmm shooting loads into you bareback was definitely going to come back around to haunt him eventually
hopefully you're on the same wavelength as him: no babies
you get an appointment to terminate, he'll make one for a vasectomy right now right this minute
under no circumstances is he giving up fucking
but this was a close call, and he won't have that again
if you have some stupid baby to look after
then you won't be able to pay as much attention to him
and he should be the most important person in your life
arkham
sure. his robot children were enough for a while but he's past it
someone to carry on his legacy might be nice
an heir to his future empire, and his current...sewer domain
it's a redemption arc, a puzzle to be solved:
how do you raise the perfect child
because god knows he could have been so much more had his parents not been absolutely useless and cruel
he, however, will achieve it certainly
edward nigma, genius, super villain, best dad in the world
gotham
get ready for the most irritating 9 months of your life
because he will learn at least 100 new facts every day
as well as the ones he already knew
and will not stop telling you them, even when they make you a bit nervous or uncomfortable
but it's biological, so you should be prepared
and he'll be there to hold your hand and comfort you
as long as you promise not to let the kid be sporty
he wants a little mini-him to play video games with
and commit arson with too
twojar
ok this is weird but he feels strangely...accomplished? proud?
this is an achievement right? it's normal to feel this good?
a whole little person who will hopefully take after him
someone to scheme with
someone to appreciate his puzzles
a little re-headed minion to come home to that will idolise him
excellent, what a statement of his manhood
plus, there's something about domesticity that might make him seem more wholesome
or at least might trick his adversaries into thinking he's weakened, giving him the perfect opening to brutalise them
young justice
huh, ok he's not as stressed as he thought he might be
but now isn't the best time
he's glad though, because he didn't know there was a right time
so the idea of doing this in the future isn't off the table
but he's so young and so...not pathetic just...
he's not strong or accomplished enough yet in his own goals
maybe in the future when he can stand up to children
then he can consider having one in his own home
dano
uh oh he's crying!
because now he has the chance to give someone the childhood he didn't get to have
he can be a good dad, a super dad
and he'll always have a friend because kids can't leave
until they can walk...but his kid will like him right?
oh the insecurities are mounting, but he's still pleased
and he can get to work right away on planning everything
how are we feeling about puzzle themed names??
telltale
he is way past dad age
if you're not his s/o he'll gladly take on the role of supportive uncle
or grandparent more like
if you are his s/o then get ready to have a serious conversation
because that little monster is not being raised by him
and if you decide to put it up for adoption
god help the poor people who raise another riddler
it really took it out of his parents
unburied
"but i'm baby"
would absolutely throw a fit
he's far too busy with his scheming and riddling to be a dad
not to mention he's not necessarily the nurturing type
unless you want to raise another little psychopath
under any other circumstances cheating would annoy him
but please god let there be a chance this baby isn't his

I'll try not to dump too much, also I hope you are doing well!! You help so many people, I hope you know how much good you've done :)
Sorry if this is too much or if it isn't something you want to answer. No pressure. Also could you tag this with "nightingale anon"? Thanks for your time and any advice :)
I grew up in foster care and there was a lot of shit that happened ranging from neglect to murder attempts and a bunch of stuff, and my adoptive mother I'm pretty sure is schizophrenic? And may or may not run a cult (it's complicated).
I have a friend that I've been getting closer with because we became roommates and she opened up about stuff and I did too, but after living together (2 other roommates too) for a few months she finally told me she doesn't like if I mention anything about my past and that she finds my life disturbing and extremely uncomfortable.
This happened after a series of miscommunication where I thought she wanted me to elaborate and she just would stare at me?? And she said that staring apparently is concern?? She also greatly misunderstood me coming out as ace (she talks a ton about her sexuality. She has little filter) and ended up comparing me to Jeffrey Dahmer because of it -_-
We've come to an "agreement" where I just w6ont mention anything personal or my life but she still overshare a ton. I know my experiences are pretty extreme compared to a life without trauma, but it sucks to have confirmation that I just.. can't talk to anyone about anything in my life because it's too disturbing or sad. So many things talk about having a support network but I literally cannot have one because even a tiny bit of stuff is too much and if I think I'm close to someone and try to talk (asking if they're okay with it first) they end up distancing from me because of it.
Is it bad that it kinda hurts? Like I guess sometimes it sucks being reminded that I'll never have actual friends (not acquaintances) or family or anything that other people seem to have. I know I should just accept that because of who I am and my life circumstances I'll never have a support network of any kind or even long lasting friends, but sometimes I'm not very good at accepting that.
I know ""everyone deserves family"" but with my life my experiences are so vastly different that i struggle to relate with anyone and no one has ever related to me, or wants to.
I also can't afford a therapist or anything. My job is online and because I graduated early (all online) there's no easy way of making friends either. I feel like I squandered any chance at making friends growing up because I focused too much on surviving.
Hi anon,
This sounds complicated and I’m sad for you.
First of all, you’re absolutely allowed to feel hurt. And if I can just be blunt, your roommate is being shitty. While it’s valid to have boundaries, I’m not a fan of when people make things unequal to that extreme.
It’s complicated because people are allowed to have boundaries, but try and be mindful that these don’t end up leaving the relationship “unfair”.
My friend and I were talking about this the other day where she knew someone who had hard boundaries and always looked out for herself and wouldn’t inconvenience herself for anyone. Not romantic partners, best friends or anyone. Which is super valid and her choice but the problem is she expected everyone else to go above and beyond for her. I think at that point, things become unfair. And that’s a similar impression to what I get here.
I struggle with making friends. I always have. Both my last two relationships were people I met online. (On Tumblr actually). And my friend of 12 years I just met for the first time in person last week (I met her on FanFiction.net originally and she got me into tumblr). What I’m trying to say is that I’ve been able to have fulfilling friendships online and found it easier to find people with similar interests. Before I met my friend of 12 years, I still found our friendship fulfilling and something I loved about my life. I also have a couple other online friends that I enjoy having relationships with. We send dog pics, and offer support.
It’s not easy, and some people end up disappointing, but I do think it’s possible to make friends.
It is allowed to hurt. And you are allowed to grieve for what you don’t have. You’re allowed to feel these things. These feelings are so valid. And I’m definitely not trying to tell you what to do but I don’t think it’s hopeless.
Could you try finding a support group online? Or even just a space to talk about your interests to meet other like minded people?

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 ... 𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥 .
ace campbell the twenty seven year old is known as the spitfire within the group. they are known to be charming and enigmatic which makes sense when you think about how his parents have been threatening him with rehab but i guess we’ll find out for ourselves.
full name : ace campbell . label : the spitfire . age : twenty seven . dob : tba . status : single . sexuality : bisexual . positives : charming extroverted exciting confident . negatives : hedonistic enigmatic unapologetic . aesthetics : rockstar antics, heart pounding under the influence of tonight's drug of choice, dimples that feign innocence with hands that definitely did it, leaving a trail of destruction in your wake, thinking emojis are a valid method of communication, selfishness in pursuit of pleasure, a bottle of champagne for one, adopting ' disappointment ' as a personality trait to take away the sting, an unapologetic strut in your step, tanned skin used as a tattoo canvas, ring-clad fingers drumming the steering wheel of a sports car, the fear of love vs. the crave of chaos .
many people see ace's selfish attitude and automatically blame the parents , as though they chose to have a kid who would grow up to becomes a twenty seven year old teenager. his childhood in california was something of dreams. ace got everything he ever wanted - private school and summers in their gorgeous pool in their giant yard. the most idyllic upbringing that was, in ace's opinion, snatched away when he was ten and told that they'd be relocating to michigan .
it was a business move, with the parents following opportunities, but it was also for the family. they didn't want to have los angeles kids, seeing spoiled and selfish traits in ace as he started middle school. but when they moved to michigan, the kids still had everything they ever wanted with a giant ass house, and ace's natual charisma had him making a new batch of friends in record time .
all through high school, ace got sucked in to the partying lifestyle. he was always the happiest when surrounded by people, the flow of alcohol and the laughter of a good time. he doesn't do well alone. it's partially from being a twin and never really being alone, and also from wanting to drown out the noise with ... louder noise. he has never really spoken about it, but shit's dark in his head sometimes .
the move to michigan really opened up opportunities for his parents, meaning one or both of them would be away for stretches of time. cue the campbell residence becoming party central .
the transition from normal rich kid to renowned asshole was subtle and unintentional. ace is headstrong and out for a good time, and his reliance on quick doses of pleasure sometimes has him neglecting whoever he's getting his quick kicks with. sometimes he's aware of it, sometimes he isn't .
but his headstrong nature and knowing what he wants for himself translates to the way that he is with his friends. assholery that isn't a byproduct of his own pursuit of pleasure ? not acceptable. he'll be the first to stick up for his friends, in immediate defence of whoever he thinks is right. a part of it is just friendship loyalty, another part is that he doesn't want other peoples' disagreements to stop him from having a good time .
dumb af and he's definitely burned away a lot of his iq points but he's a wizz at math. he can do almost any sum in his head, went to college for maths and statistics and had planned to work in the finance department of his parents' company when graduating. which he did, but he doesn't do it full time. simply because he doesn't have to.
but it goes without saying, when aaron invited them all he was one of the first to rsvp. he wasn't about to miss out on a good ole time .
𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒
all of them any gender : ex-fiance, hook ups, people he pissed off, someone he's constantly fighting with, mutual terrible influences, someone that he secretly can't stand, someone that knows too much about him ( maybe he poured out his thoughts n feelings when drunk one night ), exes, first love .

The problem with discussing abortion is that the moment anyone says "it's a political matter" then we've lost the argument. Abortion is NOT political. It's a human right. Period. The moment you brand it as political, then suddenly it's up for debate. People can have opinions on it. Don't let people ever convince you that it's a political stance. Don't give them a single inch. It is a human right.
And I know people always give examples for WHY it's necessary, "birth control might have failed them", "it could be a child of incest or rape", "it might be dangerous for them to give birth", "they might have been using alcohol while pregnant, and are afraid how it might effect the babies health", and those are all VALID reasons! But you know what? It's none of your goddamned buisness why someone needs or WANTS it! Jesus Christ!
US Baby Formula supply is LOW. Parents (especially low income parents) have limited access to it RIGHT NOW AT THIS MOMENT! It has been contaminated by various bacteria, and has badly infected and even KILLED some babies! This country is failing to protect the babies it already DOES have, but you are telling me it's murder to not keep bringing in new ones?!?! People are terrified of climate change, food shortages, nuclear war, police brutality, racism, classism, economic instability, safe housing, THE FUCKING PLAGUE THAT'S STILL GOING ON, and now you want to take away our choice to bring a child into this mess?!?! When we might not be able to provide for them?!?! And no! Don't give me that "anti abortion, pro adoption" BS! We aren't your incubators! If someone wants to give up a baby for adoption, that's FINE! But once again, IT AINT NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUISNESS! ITS IS A HUMAN RIGHT TO HAVE ACCESS TO ABORTION!
So yeah! How dare you! How fucking DARE you hold us hostage in this country! How dare you put a rapist in our supreme court and take away abortion. How dare you put a predator like Trump into the office and take away abortion. How fucking dare you let boys and men assault and rape and abuse women and then balk at giving him consequences because it "might ruin his future". BITCH. NEWS FLASH. MY WHOLE FUCKING FUTURE IS ALREADY A DYSTOPIAN NIGHTMARE! How about we change the PRESENT instead of preserving it for some assholes future!!!!
So fuck yeah, I'm pissed as hell! Don't get scared, people! Don't get sad! Don't feel defeated! GET MAD! GET ANGRY! WE ARE HUMANS. WE ARE HERE. WE ARE PISSED. And to anyone who disagrees with me, in the words of a wise Twitter post, "DIE MAD ABOUT IT!"
Abortion is a human right. Abortion is a human right. Abortion is a human right. Abortion is a human right. Abortion is a human right. Abortion is a human right.

Hello! Hope you've been doing well. I have a question: what makes you love Lady Dimitrescu? Your fic is my favorite LD fic because of how mysterious and in character she is, its almost hard to believe you started it before the game came out. You nailed her and her daughters while still giving them your own unique twist. So I'm wondering, what attracts you to this character?
I've sat on this question in my inbox for weeks, anon. Weeks, because explaining why I love Lady Dimitrescu is the sort of thing I could sum up in a few words, or I could write a novel length dissertation on her and still go back later thinking, wait, I forgot to mention this. I think you've waited long enough for a response though, so, I'm going to just ramble for a little bit and see how it goes.
(Firstly, thank you for your kind words about my fic! Nothing gives me serotonin like hearing that after all this time it's your favourite, and sidenote, its still being written! Right now I have a couple of chapters done, but I'm waiting until I have at least 3-4 finished so I can avoid the pesky posting droughts I've had recently)
I can't talk about Lady Dimitrescu without stressing first and foremost, that everything about her is an anomaly for female characters in video games. When I first heard shouts of "9ft tall vampire gf" memes drifting on the wind in late January 2021 I had just finished work, and I was expecting to open my internet browser to see your run-of-the-mill video game woman, with the addition of press-on fangs and perhaps a pair of impressive shoujo legs to make up the height. She would surely be in her early twenties, thin and petite-framed, just like all Attractive Video Game Women are.
But then, she wasn't. I watched the trailer, and as she crouched through that doorway and straightened up - she wasn't any of those things. She was grimly, horrifically beautiful. Genuinely massive in stature, not just tall, but proportionately huge. Broadly framed, not thin, dressed elegantly in that ghostly ivory dress with that sweeping hat, and god, her face. Visibly in her 40s, all smile lines and crow's feet and imperfect, deathly pale skin and stained teeth. She was something as a horror fan I had been craving without knowing it — as I've already mentioned, female characters in video games are massively skewed towards young adulthood. With that in mind, I can't overstate the importance of seeing a woman over 40 with the honest and beautiful features of a woman over 40; her signs of ageing have not been smoothed out and wiped away like something to hide, nor has she been boxed into the old horror trope of mature and powerful women as hags. She simply exists — attractive and middle aged— in a sea of media that quietly implies through a lack of representation of older women that we hit some kind of beauty expiry date once we hit 35.
And as time went on, and we learned more about her beyond first impressions, I became more and more enamoured with her — as a lesbian, her coding brings me a wild amount of validation. Once you peel back the layers of blood and death and look at the way Lady Dimitrescu is living her life, it's hard for me as a woman and as a lesbian to not feel empowered by seeing a female character who has made the conscious choice to live her life centred on women. She's a single mother of three daughters, created and adopted with the help of another woman. Exclusively women are allowed to work in her living space in the castle, and even the name of the minor enemies in Castle Dimitrescu (Moroaicǎ) is the feminine form, suggesting to her, only women are worthy to receive the cadou — to become creatures of her own creation. The fact that she preys specifically upon women also satisfies a dark desire for scenarios involving sexual vulnerability for me and a lot of sapphic women — and she allows the exploration of those desires in a way that feels safe, taking place in this distant, imaginary environment in which men play no part, and therefore cannot exploit us. In our way, we've taken her status as an example of the Predatory Lesbian Vampire trope and reclaimed it for our own.
She's also an independent and successful businesswoman who is completely unapologetic about her immense stature in a world where women are pressured to take up as little space with our bodies as possible. I may not be a 9ft 6 vampire lady, but any body type represented that goes against the norm for women in games — especially when the character with that body is presented as beautiful and portrayed carrying an aura of power and confidence — is incredibly freeing and comforting for those of us with body image issues. I've met many women in the fanbase, myself included, who feel more confident about the parts of our bodies we've been made to feel undesirable for having, simply because Lady D has those features and is celebrated for them.
Another layer to my love for her is House Dimitrescu's female-centred horror. While the primary reason for all of it is to present female empowerment as a source of fear and conflict to Ethan, that in of itself becomes empowering. We see women for once with their hands on the fear factor dial in horror, historically a very male-dominated genre where men are often both the heroes and villains, and women (not always, but often enough) are the victims - the swooning damsels in distress.
Something else I'd like to mention — the sapphic fandom contribution. The way we took her and ran, creating our own stories and characterisations for her and her daughters months before the game released brought about the kind of creative, original content I haven't seen in any fandom before. It was genuinely magical to experience that level of passion around a character we knew very little about, but who spoke to us so powerfully that we simply had to make her our own. It went far beyond finding her attractive.
I could go on, but the above points and more now, a year and a half later, have culminated in her being my favourite character of all time.

Please look at the math of the Winner-Take-All system, and the issues that come from voting Third Party under this system.
The problem is the Spoiler Effect.
Tumblr media
The better that a Third Party candidate does, the more it hurts its own voters by guarenteeing a loss for the party they most agree with and a win for the party they disagree with. Republicans know how the system works and will donate money to which third party is doing the best to insure that they win by making the Democrats lose. People on the right are willing to stick with the Republican party no matter what. Case and point MAGAs.
I know that you don't want to vote Biden and your reasons for not voting for him are completely valid. But there are other ways to not vote for Biden and still insure that the Republicans don't take the white house.
Vote out Biden in the Democratic Primary and provide a new candidate of our choosing.

i think lily's "LGBTA" stuff is nonsence, honestly. no acronym is ever going to be wholly inclusive; that's why queer is being adopted more and more by people as a catch-all for the community. it's simply easier to say. it also speaks to a kind of pride i feel younger queer people have been sorely lacking in. not to mention how corporatized "LGBT pride" has become already. we desperately need a word that is seen as "undesirable" by corpos so they'll stay the fuck away.
not to mention the word "queer" has existed for decades prior to the adoption of LGBT. LGB (the T didn't come until later) only started being adopted in some communities in the 80's. the word "gay" was still being used as a catch all akin to queer in the 90's and early 2000's. the erasure of the word "queer" as a term that is acceptable to use for our community is a modern take had by people who know nothing about their history.
we already had the acronym debate back in the early 2010's right here on tumblr. QUILTBAG, MOGAI, and dozens of "better" acronyms were created because of how many people "LGBT" leaves out in its goal to be easy to use in conversation. this is by design. the "full" acronym (LGBTQQIP2SAA) is so clunky and god awful that queer people on tiktok started calling themselves the "alphabet mafia" after insults slung at them by queerphobic people.
but nobody wanted to look a few feet over to see a perfectly good word sitting and collecting dust, because "it's a slur" despite it having been successfully reclaimed decades before anybody engaging in this discourse was even a twinkle in their parents eyes.
TL;DR lily has no idea what she's talking about when it comes to queer discourse. it's also incredibly funny how often she excludes the "Q" in favor of the "A", while also being incredibly Aphobic herself.
i can't stress this enough: the goal of insisting on less inclusive labels like LGBT as the only "valid" alternative and put down queer is precisely to exclude people. this is why TERFs (real TERFs, not any trans woman that disagreed with LO or called her out) love to contribute to the "queer is a slur" discourse. this is why the post that LO saw was emblematic of all of her thoughts and feelings regarding queer came from a openly conservative person. the goal is the exclusion, not just a coincidence. if somehow they manage to take out of the queers out of the way they can continue on with the T and B, both letters attacked at more frequency that most people would believe and that to some don't deserve to be part of the acronym at all. just look at the hate group LBG that is ran by straight homophobic/transphobic people. just look who are the people with the signs "lesbian, not queer" at prides or TERFs events. the point is to convince us to fight among ourselves and separate us, to create a distance that will destroy us from the inside out. if you personally don't like to be called queer then that's just your choice, but by denying us our word and our community that's when you're conveniently playing into the hands of the people who want to divide us, who don't want to see us united.

The Slightly Incoherent Review Of UA Season 3
SPOLIERS FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON AHEAD
·       The fucking dance-off. Before we saw it, I had joked to my sister that they should do a dance battle, and I was in tears the entire time. It was such a good song choice, and the vibes were immaculate, so it was a shame that the entire thing was a fever dream.
·       Unstoppable Force (Umbrella Academy) meets Immovable Wall (Sparrow Academy). I think this explains how most of the Sparrows were taken out – the Umbrellas had been humbled by 5 disappearing and Ben dying, they knew that they couldn’t stay, whilst the Sparrows hadn’t had this, they were arrogant – like the Illuminati in Multiverse of Madness.
·       also, doesn’t help that the Umbrellas are basically feral by this point.
·       HOTEL OBSIDIAN was such a vibe, honestly. It was such a cool hotel. Although, I did think that the patrons that we kept getting close-ups on would be more important. Especially the guy who played Death in SpN – thought his role would be bigger
·       STANLEY!!!!!!!! He was so cute, and such a good foil for Diego. I know he wasn’t actually his son, but they were so cute together. I wish they had been more upset when he fucking died tho?? Like, they just stood there and then left??? TF??
·       HARLAN! TBH, I hadn’t really been expecting his character, which was stupid of me, but I liked what they had done with him and how they developed him, both as a super-powered person and as an autistic person. I’m not autistic myself, so I cant say much, but he was very interesting especially with how his power was utilised in comparison to Viktor’s.
·       On that note, Viktor’s coming out was handled so well. I know that some people might’ve been annoyed about how brushed over it was, but I’m of the opinion that if we normalise coming out in anyway, it doesn’t have to be a big deal.
·       LUTHER: Luther’s character has come such a long way since season 1. I liked him well enough in season 2, even though he wasn’t my favourite, but this season he was; funny and caring and had major proper himbo energy. He just loved his wife and his siblings so much and I honestly love that vibe for him
·       Luther/Sloane – I know that this relationship isn’t for everyone, but honestly, Luther needed to move on from Allison and this time they’re not actually siblings. Not even adopted technically, the issue with Allsion and Luther was the fact that they had grown up together as siblings, so Luther/Sloane was much healthier. They were cute as well, because Sloane really cared about Luther and the moon, and I know it was annoying in season 1 (even though he was partially correct about it having to do with the moon???) but the fact that he was alone up there for four years and none of his siblings cared?? Like, Sloane did??? And I think them getting married really quickly was in character for both of them, change my mind.
·       DIEGO: Diego wasn’t my favourite in season 2, I felt like they’d ruined his character from season 1 (maybe, it was the hair?? and JFK??) but he was so much better this season. He was a better sibling, father, boyfriend etc and he was trying so hard, the entire time and I really thought that they did his character justice this season
·       Diego/Lila – I knew they’d bring this back for this season, but I had been expecting some drama with Patch for some reason?? I wasn’t the biggest fan in season 2 because I thought that they’d enabled each other, but their relationship was much better this season. I think Lila makes Diego soft in comparison??? I don’t know how to explain it?? But yeah. If there’s a season 4, hope they make good parents, would probably let their kid drink a glass of wine sometimes or something.
·       Allison: Oh, Allison. Look I get it, you lost your child and then your husband, but honestly, it wasn’t surprising that Claire wasn’t there. But her toxic arc was kinda horrifying to witness?? Like I wanted to slap her at some points. Was she valid in the way she was feeling? Mostly. Did that give her the right to do most of the things she did? No. she sexually assaulted Luther (unacceptable, no matter what) and murdered Harlan (the only thing about this was the fact that I think Harlan let her do it willingly). But Harlan was practically Viktor’s child, he’d been living with him, helping Sissy raise him and it had only been a few days for him, so it was understandable why Viktor was unwilling to murder Harlan, so that sat uncomfortably with me. The fact that Allison didn’t think she’d done anything wrong was even more terrifying??? Like, Harlan’s death hadn’t really united the families, the wedding did, and she was awful to Viktor. TELLING YOUR BROTHER THAT YOU SHOULD’VE LEFT HIM IN THE BASEMENT IS TERRIBLE. It was a good thing that Viktor was emotionally stable this season, honestly.
·       Also, how does the Claire/Ray thing work? Did Alison still sleep with Patrick in this timeline? How is Ray alive? Is it because it was her ‘wish’ and the timeline just rewrote itself around them?
·       KLAUS: Babe, I miss season 1 Klaus, he was such a vibe. But he’s matured somehow, and I like him all the same (although season 2 was iffy, no matter how funny the cult was). I’m glad that they put Klaus and 5 together, because their dynamic is hilarious. And I love the power exploration this season, but I wish they did more with ghosts because that was kind of confusing??? I know they did it so that he could summon Luther, but I felt like their was a better way to utilise that??? Also, does his power work with alcohol now? Or was it just drugs that stopped them??
·       Klaus and Reginald: This was a rollercoaster that broke me in the end. I’m not a fan of characters forgiving abusive parental figures without a really good reason, but it was in character for Klaus (and the rest of the Umbrellas), so I understood. But the fact that Reginald killed him over and over and Klaus accepted it made me sad, even if it was necessary but the ULTIMATE BETRAYAL was the act at the end when he left Klaus to the apocalypse. That made me so upset and I wish Reggie died and I hope Klaus fucking wrecks him next season
·       FIVE: love this little guy. Very feral, although he did lose a few braincells, as in it took him way too long to realise something was wrong but I think we can cut him some slack, he just survived three apocalypses in a month. He deserves a break. He was the least changed character, so I don’t actually have much to say
·       BEN: Benny, Bennerino, oh boy. I love this dickhead so much. He’s basically Diego if Diego didn’t have Grace. Inferiority complex a mile wide, coupled with the fact that some douchebags from another timeline bonded with his father more than he did and kept comparing his to a different Ben, I get why he was mad. I did want him to take a chill-pill tho, lmao
·       VIKTOR: Viktor was so self-assured this season, I love it. He had some of the best character development and it really showed. Did he technically start three apocalypses? Yes. Do we blame him for it? No. Emotional trauma for the win, baby.
·       The Sparrows: Cool concept, subpar execution. I didn’t even no what Marcus’s power was, was it super-strength????? They were so hyped up that they definitely fell flat and only served as plot devices (even Sloane) other than Ben and it makes me sad, because they were so cool. They were what Reginald both wanted and feared. Powerful children? Check. Don’t respect or fear him anymore? Double check. That was a power move though, honestly.
·       THE PLOT: Uh, better than season 2 in my opinion. Dallas was boring for me, but this was an interesting apocalypse – because I’m 98% sure that it could’ve been solved with communication from all parties, but it wouldn’t be the Umbrella Academy otherwise. Oblivion definitely confused me, and I think it came in too fast once we got there??? You get me??? Like they fixed it pretty quickly once it happened and I thought that part was the least interesting plot point. IDK
·       Also Pogo as a tattoo artist was hilarious.
Sorry that this was long, what do you think about any of these opinions??

Pretty sure we've had this conversation before but re 'THATS THEIR DAD' Red was there right? That had to in some way hurt. Because to Red Black is the Sans in the exact same no win situation he was but he *won*. He has the close (the *functional*) relationship with his brother, he has happy life on surface, he has his kid. He has *The* Kid, *Red's* kid the kid Red threw everything away for, the kid that hates him because its was the only way to keep them from loving him so goddamn much. That he hurt so he wouldn't hurt them.
And fuck give it a few months and Black will probably have *Red's* brother too. And its *good* that the two of them have someone who can love them *right* instead of just hurting them in the name of it but it's gotta *hurt* to see what your life could've been if you were just a little bit *better*
if ONLY Red were there. That would be hilarious I mean uh. Very sad. Very sad for him. poor guy...
Luckily for Red, he is not there for this conversation. He and Just Sans are having a different conversation on their own, since Frisk asked for Red to not be there at first. Though the first time Red hears Frisk call Black "dad" he's going to go through a lot all at once. He just didn't think it was possible, or that the word held any real meaning for Frisk. Which, to be fair, it didn't. It came to mean something to them, because it's how Black described their relationship, and he's cultivated a bond with them that has the tenderness and support that they need. Red wasn't able to provide that. What he was able to provide he labeled as a sibling relationship, because it was what he provided/wanted to provide for Fell, so he figured he might as well call it the same thing. (and also because he's aware somewhere in his heart that being forced into a parenting role with fell fucked him up really badly, so while he ended up being as much a parent as a brother to frisk, he has complicated feelings about that.)
Black's desire to yoink Fell and dote on/adopt him forever is also going to be a point of contention between Red and Black, though it may not go exactly how you'd think. Fell doesn't particularly want to be yoinked. While he still has a deep hunger for the affection and validation he never got from Red, he's less prepared than Frisk was to accept it from a relative stranger, so that instant bond with Black doesn't develop. He's used to pushing through his own unmet needs and insisting on his loyalty to Red even when Red himself tells Fell to give up on him and live a better life with people who can be better for him. Black seems to Fell like an incarnation of Red's self-hate: he's stringent about his moral code, he fears the capacity for violence that has kept his family alive, and most importantly he's a judge to the core. Fell also sees Slim's normally well-hidden tendency towards brutal efficiency above all else, and correctly identifies it as a lingering insecurity that if his brother is forced to do too much of the dirty work, he'll be lost forever. So, despite Black's best efforts to save them both, Fell can identify him as being vulnerable to moral self-destruction.
He also correctly identifies part of Black's resentment for Red as being a judgement of the choices Red has made, and Fell is sick to death of Red's self-recrimination. As far as he's concerned, he took the burden of the judge from his brother to save him from this belief that, since he's done such an awful job as a brother, he can never be better. He's chosen to forgive Red. He's chosen to give him a second chance, and in his own way, Red has treated that choice as sacred. He's done absolutely nothing without Fell's consult since then, except in dreams where Fell wasn't available to ask, and made intense efforts to at least try to offer Fell comfort and support where it's needed. He still lacks the skills, but he and Fell are trying so hard to repair their relationship that Black's resentment feels presumptive at best. Black knows of one thing that Red did, one terrible mistake that he made, and refuses to see how he's learned and grown from it. He's seeing the absolute nutjob Sans who hurt his siblingchild, and not Red who's trying to make things right, even if he'll never be forgiven. Not even the person who tried to be what Frisk needed, and tried to send them somewhere better when he realized that he couldn't.
So, when it comes to Black and Red having conflict, Fell will normally refuse to engage while passively sticking to Red like glue. The harder Black tries to pry him away, the more firm he'll be that he wants nothing to do with Black's one-sided drama with Red. He would love to get to know Black as a person, and he's intensely afraid that Black and Slim have replaced him and Red for Frisk, but he's not going to achieve his dreams by sacrificing his family. He still wants to have Frisk and Red both in his life, and he won't compromise.
He's petrified that this conviction will cause him to lose Frisk even after all this, but Frisk gets it. They did live with Red and Fell first, so it's natural to them that Fell can't leave Red. They try to convince Black to cool it about Red so that Fell can at least come to family events without feeling defensive and unwelcome, and they also have mixed emotions about Black's Red-hate campaign. They're glad to have someone so firmly in their corner, but there's still a large part of them that needs to know Red is okay to feel safe. They talk to Slim about their feelings about Red a lot more than anybody else, because Slim is always willing to listen and won't hold it against anyone if Frisk has conflicting feelings that they need to talk out.
All this to say: Red may have already accepted that Black is just better than him in every way and everyone is just going to love him and abandon Red for being broken at the first opportunity, but he's surrounded by a lot more love and loyalty than he realizes. And if he ever needs somebody in his corner, Blue fucking hates Black for unrelated reasons (they are too similar), and the feeling is mutual.
