I do indeed still write for The Witcher! It just isn't one that I receive a whole lot of requests for (I think I've only ever gotten the one other request?), so this was a nice treat to see pop in my inbox! Perhaps I'll post some minis for this fandom based on some private fic I have in my WIP folder?

Anyhow, I can absolutely get you some regressor!Geralt headcanons! I have a lot of thoughts about him and what I think regression would be like in this setting, so I tried to get some of my favorite concepts out to you. Originally this was intended to be a sort of exploration on Geralt perhaps regressing due to something that happens while out on a hunt, but I rather enjoy the idea that regression is a common phenomenon amongst witchers, so I went more with that angle instead. Common enough that he isn't lost or confused by what those initial small feelings might mean, and also common enough that it's something other witchers would pick up on or know to look for. While I enjoy toying with more fantastical origins of regression in such settings, I also find the idea that it's just something inherent in a group that often gets demonized by the common folk to be interesting—to have someone that is painted as being a heartless monster turn out to not only be capable of a childlike innocence but also prone to such a state is very fun thematically (for me at least).

Also also Eskel is one of my favorites so it was so much fun to include him! He's part of Geralt's little family, you know? It only makes sense to include him imo—and if you hadn't of asked for him specifically but just for Geralt, there would have been a high likelihood that he would still have appeared in these haha. (And like always, it is important to note that I play with a blend of book canon and game canon along with a sprinkle of my own shenanigans, so please keep that in mind! Timeline is a little wishy-washy as well due to things like the inclusion of the goat, but I just think baby Geralt would adore the goat so Lil' Bleater is eternal.)

You looked at the watch in your hand as you walked to the middle of the town square. Any second now. Any second the tiny pocket-sized clock would change and you’d be able to have the answer to your question, all the while, proving Yennefer wrong.

Yennefer had the watch made by a friend. She intended to put your silly theory about Jaskier and your fated future to bed. You had explained that every two years you and Jaskier seemed to find each other. In captivity. In the wilderness. In a tavern on the side of the road. It didn’t matter where. It just happened. She had given you the watch the day that you and Jaskier had parted. While you rode off with Yennefer and headed to meet Triss, Jaskier left with Geralt in the opposite direction.

You stopped as the clock face changed and the minutes that you had been obsessed with tracking changed to the words two years. You looked up and you found yourself toe to toe with Jaskier.

“(Y/N)! What are you doing all the way out here!” He said cheerfully.

“Oh. I’m not sure. I just ended up here. It was a lot of little coincidences really.” You muttered as he took your arm in his and led you to the tavern he was staying at.

“Well, you just missed Geralt. He said something about seeing Yennefer for a bet.” Jaskier explained as he gestured for you to take a seat at a table in a far corner. A few people recognised him, asking if he would perform but he put them off, promising tomorrow night he’d give them a show.

The two of you talked of your year apart and Jaskier started to smile. “You know. I realised that we always seem to…”

“Meet every two years. No matter how our travels are going. I told Yennefer. She doesn’t believe me.” You smiled as he nodded eagerly as the tavern owner gave him a jug of some sort of warm-smelling drink for Jaskier, on the house, should he promise to perform tomorrow as he had suggested he would.

“It’s strange. You know, Geralt and I cross paths now and then, Fate or some sort of Witcher… stuff who knows. But with you, it’s always two years exactly. For me, there is no one else that fate draws me to.” He smiled when you nodded and smiled.

“It was always you, through everything it was always you, Jaskier.” You explained quickly. A soft smile crept over Jaskier’s face and he looked as if he was about to say something when you frowned and looked past him. Across the tavern, you could see a larger hunched figure next to an elegant one with a purple cloak. “They’re betting on us!”

“What?” Jaskier looked over and spotted what you’d seen. He made a rude gesture at Geralt who laughed heartily causing his hood to fall down.

“Well, Yen. There you have it. Fate or a curse they were right. Every two years. You owe me three gold coins.” Geralt said above the chattering of the tavern. You chuckled and sipped at the drink Jaskier had poured you.

“I don’t think it’s a curse. It’s nice knowing that you’ll be showing up.” You said quietly. That made Jaskier break out into a wide smile as he leaned back in his chair.

Hi, Anon! My inbox has not seen any hc’s request for quite some time now, so yours is a blessing lmao. Besides writing small headcanons here and there, I haven’t worked on any Scoia’tael since last year - which is a crime, to be honest. In all honesty, I love seeing new ppl getting into the Scoia’tael, especially Issy bc he’s one of my faves (even tho I haven’t written much for him). So, without further ado, let’s get into these hc’s.

I have a strong belief that Isengrim is one of the best at singing praises of their loved ones amongst the Scoia’tael. He can surely make a simply compliment overflow with love towards someone he loves. Better than that, whatever comes out of his mouth is truth, he doesn’t believe in empty words and praises. Isengrim is as truthful as possible in his relationship and in general, he isn’t the type to “waste his breath” on some cheap lies. Whenever he compliments their loved one, it’s genuine and from the bottom of his heart. His iconic habit is to reverse their loved ones flirting with a reply that will make them swoon.

When it comes to physical things, one peculiar habit he has is enveloping their loved ones from behind, holding them in a close embrace while nuzzling their nape. This usually happens behind closed doors at the beginning of his relationships, he tends to be quite closeted when it comes to public affections - especially at the time when he was referred to as the Iron Wolf and the Colonel of Vrihedd Brigade. Between his public image and the affection, he tended to choose the prior.

Amongst the Scoia’tael his the closest to being the one to dance with their loved one (even though he prefers step dancing solo). Holding them close, his hands on their hips while rocking slowly around on the grass, their barren feet feeling every little grass blade is an experience he wouldn’t exchange for anything. He’s more of the type to do this rather than giving their loved one simply trinkets, he holds activities and experiences at a higher value than simply objects.

As mentioned above, Isengrim tends to set more value on quality time rather than objects that can be easily broken, lost or sold. From a simply supper together to cuddling under a starlit sky, he loves spending alone time with their loved ones, away from any commotion. One of his favourite activities is to read aloud, and if their loved one allowed him, he would happily discuss and read to them his current book that his reading (secretly I love the idea of him being a sort of bookworm).

One big step in any kind of romantic relationship of his is physical touch. Especially when it comes to the scars on his face because if you manage to touch them without Isengrim either yelling or running away from you, it’s a major giveaway of his love. So far there have been quite a few people in his life that managed to create that big bond with him, with Eldain being one and the latest to do it. When Isengrim gets a simple caress of his cheek, he easily melts into the touch with glassy eyes accompanying it. His public persona of the “big bad iron wolf” gets immediately swiped away with a simple stroke of a loving touch.

☁️: A soft headcanon

Eldain has a knack to use Isengrim’s name meanings as a nickname (the fact that it’s the witcher version of ‘Moon Moon’ has never gone outta my mind lmao). So it’s not uncommon to hear him say stuff like ‘Oh, there’s our Wolf Wolf!’.

When he was still part of the war, he tended to wake up earlier than he had to, simply to walk around the camp and check that everything has stayed the same when he went to sleep. Also, he took great care to check up on the elves that had been standing guard, whether it be to simply chat with them or make them take leave because of them almost falling asleep on duty.

On a side note, I believe him to be one of the ‘ most chill commanders’ amongst the Scoia’tael, though it doesn’t mean he didn’t care. What I mean is that Isengrim had that easy-going relationship with his subordinates, he wouldn't push them too much when he knew there wouldn’t be any good results. At the same time, whenever someone betrayed or made a major error - he would punish them accordingly. The fact his subordinates thought of him as the “chillest” didn’t necessarily mean that he wasn't able to act accordingly.

Even though Isengrim has the reputation of a feared commander for a guerrilla group, I feel like he would be good with kids. In all honesty, I imagine him having a secret sweet spot for kids. There’s also that kids are obsessed and fascinated with him, especially because of his scars. Though, being awkward at first, Isengrim seems to have a supernatural authority amongst kids, whether non-human or dh’oine.

Isengrim’s way of showing how important someone is to him is by doing small and usually insignificant things for them. From bringing a cup of tea to one of his “little brothers” commanders or patching up someone's favourite garment, he will gladly do it to show his appreciation for sticking up with him through the good and bad times.

Hi, love!

I'm in a wonky mood with my writing/Tumblr, so I'm asking a few pages the same question.

How did you get started? (My page is still a lot of my own stuff because I'm not super comfortable putting HCs up for just general terror. Despite the fact that I know the fandom is nice!)

Hiya darling! I chose (a) fandom(s) that I enjoyed, posted a couple "hey I'm writing for this, send in requests" posts with tags appropriate to what I wanted to do and voila - here I am today!

I started because fanfiction helps me focus on what I want my writing to be like! It warms up my creative muscles when wanting to expand upon my original projects. It explores the familiar instead of coming up with lore and such over time, and from that I can extract writing skills and characterisations and mould them into something exclusively mine :)

I put more under a Read More because I tend to ramble! It's pretty much my big thoughts™ as a fanfic writer, but don't feel pressured to read it ❤️

So this blog is still relatively new (just turned one year old aka baby). I had been using Tumblr for probably around five years without an actual account which is in itself quite embarrassing for me lol. Whenever I'd join a new fandom, I would binge the (fave character) x reader tag, and also occasionally check out writing prompts, OC ideas and rare OCxReader tags.

How did I start up though? It was early 2020 that I got into Critical Role, stared watching Campaign 2 and anticipating EXU1. What I noticed was that while the CRxReader side of the fandom was so well and lovingly written, at the time it was quiet. There weren't many blogs, and at one point it was rare for me to find a post I hadn't already come across. So I decided I wanted to contribute to the fandom and write what I would like to read!

I have been a creative writer pretty much all my life, in recent years being recognised for my plays, poetry, and short stories. I have mentioned this before, but I am writing a book in the form of anthologies because I love the short story genre and it is less intimidating than writing a novel from scratch (which I also intend to do in the future).

Writing original worlds and characters is so so rewarding simply because it is your own. You are, to put it bluntly, a divine being pulling threads and weaving them into something unique and yours. But the process can also be draining and annoying and sometimes you're itching to write something comfortable that (in my experience) requires less dedication or wordlbuilding thought.

From my point of view, fanfiction is a hobby. Just like how I do art and hike and cook and train and act, it is something I enjoy and get pleasure from whenever I have the time for it. It's an overused phrase, but practice makes perfect, and fanfic is a great way to both do some writing practice and indulge in your favourite characters.

I am in so many fandoms I couldn't begin to list them all off without boring you guys. Normally, my interest drifts in and out, in between and beyond them. I love Lord of the Rings, but don't see myself writing for it because it's too precious to my childhood. I adore Skyrim, but most of the main characters lack the complexity I want when being sappy and romantic. I adored watching Stranger Things, but I prefer writing about high fantasy instead of urban fantasy/scifi/horror. I love to replay Dragon Age annually, but I lose interest very quickly after indulging in it.

The Witcher is fantastic, and I love dipping in and out of the fandom, but for some reason Critical Role has suited me down to the ground without pause and has been what most of my produced content has been about. It's probably to do with my love for DnD, the broad range of archetypes, deep and personal exploration of characters, and the immense amount of content on offer at my fingertips. Either way, it's been two years and I haven't gotten bored of it yet.

To summarise everything: do what's comfortable for you! I originally wanted to help contribute to a relatively quiet and small fandom, and help my writing skills even when taking breaks from my book. Two birds, one stone.

I'd recommend separating your original stuff from your fanfiction, simply because when they begin to overlap it gets complicated and hard to understand what is truly your own and what are fan musings. I don't want my hard work and worldbuilding to be compared to the world or characters belonging to someone else. FanficWriter!Poet (me as @railroad-migraine) is different to Playwright/Novelist!Poet (me hoping to publish in the next few years).

This is one reason why I don't share my OCs with fandoms. I don't discuss who I imagine "I" would be in a fandom, how I'd look, who I'd interact with or date. Because my OCs may find a place in my own story and world, somewhere not influenced or owned by someone else. It is a personal thing for my eyes only and my creativity to develop later. I don't want to share them until they've found their place in my canon universe. I do love hearing about other people's OCs though, do not misinterpret what I mean. I just personally don't want my characters to associate with a fandom I might not be part of forever. Hence why I write Reader Inserts!

Write what makes you happy (as long as it's not harmful), not what others in the fandom want. Be brave, do not feel pressured, and take your time or step back when you want to. You are in control of your creativity, interests, hobbies and blog. Requesters are only that - requesting. You don't owe them anything.
