When you faint because of the heat

notes: new theme. i am speed. set during tamashina-mina and yasamina silk events. there's also no translation out yet at the point of writing this so I apologize if I accidentally fuck something up, i'm piecing this event story together from twitter threads and japanese-speaking mutuals exposing themselves to my annoying questions. varying lengths again because what is consistency?

contains: character x gn!reader, established relationship

Leona may have acted like he wasn't very keen on going home and bringing anyone from Night Raven College along, but he did care a lot about his homeland and he was feeling a little proud that he got to show it to you. He just wished he wasn't the loathed second prince while doing that. The others? It didn't matter to him if they enjoyed their trip. But you were his significant other and he wanted you to have a good time. So if he already had to go back to the Sunset Savannah? He might as well bring you along. He didn't want to admit it but you brightened up every moment at least enough for it to be tolerable for him. And even though he felt like the trip was going to be quite the hassle, he was looking forward to it at least a little bit in the aspect that he'd get to spend some time with you in his homeland. Maybe he'd even show you the palace. The others could wait outside.

You wandered the plaza with Leona and the others, sneaking your hand into his at one point. "Careful, y/n~", Leona teased and looked at you with his signature smirk, "the people of Sunset Savannah still don't know I have a significant other, we don't want anyone from the royal guard to tackle you for your affection now, do we? They might throw you in jail and then you'll never get to see me again." You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend. "If you weren't the prince, I'd dunk you in the fountain." "So violent, huh?", he said with an uncharacteristically dramatic sigh, "drowning in the fountain built to commemorate my beloved nephew would be a fitting end for me, huh?" You poked his side. "I'd be foolish to believe I could get rid of you by drowning you in a fountain", you joked and now Leona took your hand in his for a moment and squeezed it gently, still smirking at you.

"Could you people stop flirting for two seconds?", Vil looked at you both with a disappointed expression. "This is their version of flirting?", Lilia put a finger to his chin in confusion. "It is and I hate it", Vil replied dryly.

All of you noticed that it had become even hotter in the plaza and none of you were really dressed for the occasion. When Jack fainted, Leona was shocked and needed a moment to process what was happening. "Y/n, could you hand me the water you packed? Y/n...?", Leona turned around to see you unconscious in Vil's arms after he had caught you. "Oh for fucks sake", Leona held his head.

He made his way towards you. "Move, prickly queen", he hissed at Vil and picked you up from the ground bridal style. Vil stared at him like "tf did you just call me?"

"This really isn't the time to get jealous, you know?", Vil sighed and Leona carried you to the shade as the others helped bring Jack there. They could see Leona seemed a little distressed over you fainting though. He put you down on a bench and sat next to you, waiting for you to regain consciousness before he helped you drink some water.

"Ah shit, how are we supposed to win if y'all die on me like a starving gazelle with three broken legs?", Leona growled and rubbed the back of his head. Despite his annoyed expression, anyone who knew him well enough could tell he was worried about the two of you.

"Do you think you two can walk with us or should I call the corpse wagon?", Leona asked about your condition, ignoring Vil's sarcastic commentary of how charming he was yet again.

At the hotel he has you sitting sideways on his lap and resting against his chest. His tail is wrapped around your waist and he holds your cheek with one hand before pressing a kiss to your forehead. He looks up at Vil and Lilia smirking at him in a teasing way and Kalim letting out an "aw" sound.

"Fuck you starin' at?", Leona commented dryly. "I'm sorry", Kalim apologized and looked to the ground.

Jamil was glad you were coming along because not only would he get to show his homeland to you but you would always cheer him up and help him relax when he was feeling too stressed with his responsibilities. When he joined you in the evening after a long day of running after Kalim, you'd sometimes massage his shoulders or kiss the tension away. He'd need that today, he mused. He'd make sure to show you all of his favorite things about the Scalding Sands in return.

What he wasn't expecting was for you to faint from the heat. If anyone was an expert in keeping people safe and comfortable, it was Jamil. He had warned you about the harsh desert heat. Repeatedly. Yet it had still happened.

So now that you had fainted despite him making sure you're hydrated and otherwise protected from the sun, the only thing that was left for him to do was to make sure you'd get back on your feet as soon as possible.

It wouldn't be Jamil if he didn't bring a first-aid kit so he uses anything in there that could possibly help you.

He ignores Kalims worried commentary of the situation and makes sure you're provided with the best possible support.

Kalim orders food for you specifically so you get your energy back.

Jamil has an arm wrapped around you and makes sure you drink enough water. When the food arrives, you enjoy the exquisite meal. "Out of all things, you had to order a gourmet lunch that's more expensive than a street food vendor's entire shop?", Jamil stares at Kalim with his typical half-lidded expression, "you know a wet burger would have been much cheaper and been here earlier right?" You immediately stop eating, still having a bite in your mouth while staring at your boyfriend in shock upon the realization of what Kalim had ordered for you. "Just eat it now, Kalim is just like that", Jamil sighs, gesturing for you not to worry about the cost.

Jamil presses a kiss to your forehead and holds your hand as you continue your trip, urging you to take things slow for now. He stays by your side and keeps you safe. Once you're wearing the outfit Kalim's family had specifically prepared for his friends, Jamil at least doesn't worry anymore about you not being dressed appropriately for the desert climate. "You look beautiful", he squeezes your hand and presses a kiss to your lips, relieved you're safe and seem to be doing well.

Malleus is so hyped when he not only gets to go on a trip to the Scalding Sands without his retainers but gets to be with you on top of it all. It's like Halloween and Birthdays and International Gargoyle Day (something he may or may not have made up) in one.

If he's waiting for three hours in front of the dark mirror before the trip out of sheer excitement you can bet you're waiting with him. "They're not going to forget about us, we don't have to get up at 4am for this, Mal-", you protested as he dragged you out of bed to get ready for the trip.

He wants to share every moment with you. The trip has barely begun and he already feels like these are going to be memories he'd treasure forever.

When you faint because of the heat, he's super worried. He catches you and holds you in his arms with a panicked expression. So terrified he's losing you for a moment. "Viper, y/n is dying", he calls out with noticeable fear in his shaking voice. The people around you are raising an eyebrow and staring at your group. "They're not dying", Jamil corrects Malleus hastily and tries to signal to the concerned spectators that you were going to be fine, "they've just fainted from the heat. Let's get them somewhere in the shade and provide them with water."

Malleus nods and water droplets start forming from thin air everywhere around you. "Not with magic", Jamil gestures wildly and is happy to see the car Kalim called arrive, "we brought bottled water. No. more. magic." Jamil is so stressed out already, he's glad when you wake up again because that makes him avoid more fun surprises from their royal guest out of worry.

The thing is that Malleus getting into a relationship with anyone is not something to be taken lightly and could have a huge impact on the political landscape of Briar Valley so until you're sure you actually want to rule over his kingdom with Malleus, your relationship unfortunately has to stay a secret. Which means none of your classmates except for Lilia, Silver and Sebek are actually aware you two are an item.

"You're all seeing this right? This is not a mirage?", Cater whispers audibly with a shocked expression while in the limousine. The reason for his bafflement is Malleus gently holding you in his arms while you were resting and recovering from your heatstroke. Malleus holds Twisted Wonderland's equivalent of a Capri Sun, letting you drink from the straw while he had an arm wrapped around you. There was still worry in his voice and he would have loved to be alone with you right now to give you some affection in order to cheer you up.

He stays super close to you throughout the rest of your trip to make sure you'll be okay because you really did a number on his poor inexperienced heart.

He's simultaneously so relieved you're okay that he's even more affectionate than usual. He shares one of those melons with you and says it's so your love lasts forever. ❤️

Lilia was so excited to take you on this trip. The last time he visited the capital of Sunset Savannah, it hadn't been urbanized yet so he was looking forward to exploring the modern metropolis with you and being able to provide you with some stories and trivia about the past during the trip.

Lilia himself is pretty sensitive to the sun and he definitely warned you about the heat.

Nevertheless, you faint early on in the trip due to a heatstroke. Did I not pay enough attention to them?, Lilia asks himself as he carries you to the shade.

He thinks it's unlikely anything too bad is going to happen to you but he's still worried. He holds you in his arms the whole time until you wake up. He gently rubs your wrist with his thumb and kisses your forehead gently. You come to your senses not long after, your eyes flickering open and looking into the face of your lover who is giving you a soft smile. True love's kiss, Lilia mused and chuckles.

"We were quite worried about you, dear", he pats your head, hugs you and Kalim hands him the water bottle. Lilia helps you drink if your hand is shaking and you struggle to hold the bottle on your own.

He raised Silver and one overgrown dragon fae, he knows how to take care of someone, so you're in good hands unless he brings up his cooking. Then it's time to hit the bricks.

Lilia has an arm wrapped around you all the way back to the hotel, so you have some support if you're still low on energy or feeling a little dizzy.

He makes sure you get something to eat and drink enough water once you're back at the hotel.

He holds you for a while and kisses your lips gently. "Don't scare me like this again, okay?", he chuckles as you nuzzle his neck and hug him back.

He'd let the medics do a check-up and he'd be really happy if you're in the condition to continue exploring the capital with him and the others but if not he vows to take note of everything that might interest you and show it to you before you go back to Night Raven College.

Abigail woke up the next morning with a pit in her stomach, knowing the conversation that was an ahead of her. Reluctantly, she pulled back the covers on the bed and went into the kitchen for some breakfast. Although, the butterflies swarming in her belly didn’t give her much of an appetite.

Luke was at the island, eating a bowl of cereal. He glanced up at Abigail quickly before looking back down. “Morning,” he mumbled.

Abigail felt shifted on her feet uncomfortably. “Where’s Jack?” she asked.

“Out. Errands,” Luke said shortly. He stood from the stool and placed his empty bowl in the sink, not even looking at Abigail as he made his way back to his room.

She put a hand on his arm, stopping him. “Luke, stop. We need to talk.”

He barely looked over his shoulder. “You want to talk now?” he scoffed.

She took a deep breath to gain some courage. “We need to talk about New Year’s.”

Luke turned to fully face her, and she dropped his arm. “It’s been a week,” he said quietly.

“Yeah, about time, right?” Abigail smiled a little, hoping to lighten the mood.

Luke rolled his eyes. “I thought you didn’t care about that. It was a one time thing. Look, I don’t care if you hook up with Rudy, just don’t rub it in my face.”

Her eyebrows drew together, surprised by his attitude. “You’re being an asshole, Luke. I’m not fucking Rudy. We’re friends. Our relationship is professional.”

Luke gave a bitter laugh. “You went out in public with him and you got yourself seen. Real fucking professional, Abigail. Don’t act like you didn’t know what was going to happen.”

Abigail’s face felt hot. “Are you seriously upset about rumors on Twitter? Has it ever occurred to you that maybe I don’t want to date every guy I hang out around?”

Luke’s jaw tightened as his eyes flickered to the ceiling, as if he might regret what he was going to say. “Believe it or not, it actually has.”

Abigail’s face relaxed in realization. “Is that supposed to mean something?” she whispered.

“No, just like that kiss meant nothing to you.” Luke said harshly, turning on his heel and slamming the door to his bedroom.

Abigail pulled at her hair in frustration, hitting her fist against the wall. “I’m trying to fucking talk to you about it! Stop being a dick and listen to me!” she yelled.

“Go home, Abigail!” Luke shouted through the wall. “Go the fuck home.”

Abigail wiped desperately at the tears fighting to escape her eyes. Jesus Christ, she didn’t fucking get it. Luke had never yelled at her like that.

She didn’t know why he wouldn’t listen to her, and she didn’t understand why he wouldn’t believe that kissing him meant something to her. God, it meant everything.

Abigail wasn’t stupid. Luke had always been jealous to some degree, never like this, but always protective of Abigail and aware of who she hung around with. She knew what his jealousy of Rudy meant, and that’s why she knew he felt exactly the same way she did when they kissed.

She also figured him punching her favorite hockey player in the face had something to do with it.

The lock clicked and Jack walked through the door with grocery bags in hand. He spotted Abigail and immediately frowned when he noticed the tears falling down her face.

“What happened?” He put the bags on the counter and rushed over to where she stood.

“I’m going back to Boston. Let me know when your brother stops being such an asshole,” she said, brushing past Jack to head to her room and pack her things.

“Fuck it,” she muttered, grabbing the phone again and dialing Luke’s number. It rung until it went to voicemail. She sighed.

After the tone, she said, “Luke, I know you’re not busy right now. Please call me back. I get that you’re upset, but, for the record, it did mean a lot to me. You know that it’s hard for me to say, but I do love you. Talk to me, Moose.”

Abigail ended the voicemail and put her phone face down on the nightstand. She turned over in her bed, deciding that an early bedtime was better than dealing with her issues.

Harry’s song wasn’t easy on anyone; it wasn’t easy on you, on Joe, on Harry, and even on strangers who lived on different continents.

Coincidentally, it was as you and Joe were cuddled up, shy smiles on your faces as you watched a movie, did your phone suddenly start blaring with notifications.

Holding the phone that was starting to heat up, you were quick to answer an incoming call from Sarah.

“I’ll actually give him an earful, Y/N,” she had said as soon as you picked up, “How are you holding up? I can’t believe him. I just—I can’t.”

“Um, what’s-what’s going on? Are you okay?” You had asked your best friend, sitting upright.

Joe was quick to pause the movie, his hand moving to your back to soothingly graze it, watching you with concern.

“Have you-Fuck, have you not heard it?”

“Heard what?” You asked.

“Shit,” Sarah muttered under her breath, “Um, I–There’s a leak.”

“What le-Another one? What pictures?” You frantically asked.

“Not pictures,” she quickly assured, “It’s a song. He–Harry made a song about you recently and it–it’s out. Not out as in released, but it was leaked.”

You had stayed quiet, Joe watching you with worry, infused with confusion.

“How bad is it?”

Sarah had stayed quiet for a moment. A beat. And that was all you needed to know that it was bad.

“I’ll call you back,” you said, “Thank you, Sarah. And–It’s okay, don’t worry, alright?”

“I’m so fucking sorry, Y/N,” your best friend had said, “I wish–I just wish you could relax and take a break from all that and–” She cut herself off with a sigh, not really knowing what more to say other than to call out your ex-boyfriend.

“Don’t we all?” You had muttered with a small chuckle, though one that wasn’t entirely humorous nor gleeful.

“I’ll check on you later, okay? You better leave your phone on.”

“I will. Bye, Sar.”

Joe waited, looking at you in anticipation as you hung up and remained in position for a moment.

“Another leak?” He gently asked.

You nodded, “A song,” you let him know, “And–And apparently it’s bad.”

“Fucking hell,” he muttered under his breath and followed with a sigh, his other hand reaching to rub the bridge of his nose before inching closer to you, wrapping both arms around your waist, “Do you want to listen to it?”

“I don’t know,” you answered quietly, looking down at your lap before unlocking your phone and doing the one thing you shouldn’t have done.

You went on Twitter.

You were no stranger to the hate his fans sent you, especially since your photos had gotten leaked months ago, but it was the surge of hate that was sent to Joe’s way that had angry tears pooling your eyes.

And then right there and then, you saw the link.

He opened his arms, only enclosing them around you when you snuggled into his chest, tears of what you could only describe as anger were gliding down your cheeks, and then you pressed play.

“She'd take the world off my shoulders if it was ever hard to move,” Harry’s voice sounded through your phone through the acoustic music as you and Joe listened.

For what it was worth, Joe was understanding when Harry sang the bit of him not being able to move on from you to the point of seeing you in his current partner, and despite the aggravation he felt towards the situation, he still understood that Harry was just holding on to you and what you had.

But then Harry sang about Joe.

“Tell me he savors your glory. Does he laugh the way I did? Is this a part of your story? One that I had never lived. Maybe one day you'll feel lonely and in his eyes, you'll get a glimpse. Maybe you'll start slipping slowly and find me again.”

That was when Joe’s heart fell.

It wasn’t that the though had never crossed his mind. Joe knew you were too honest to be using his as rebound–he knew you were genuine, but he was human. The thought of you missing Harry and the possibility of life making way to yours and Harry’s paths to cross and align was one that had floated in Joe’s mind more often than he liked to admit.

So maybe it was hearing Harry voice his hopes, all of which were Joe’s fears, that had his palms clam up, and his face to completely fall.

It was like it was almost quiet after that verse despite Harry’s voice still sounding from your phone, but to your boyfriend, it was just silence of his surroundings and complete chaos in his mind.

When the song ended, you were quick to close its tab and lock your phone, taking notice of the rapid notifications you were receiving from all your social media platforms, including texts from friends and those you hadn’t spoken to in a while.

Joe was quiet and as were you, just you holding on to him as he, seemingly, mindlessly held you.

You wiped your cheeks, looking up at him. At your gaze, Joe leaned back a little so he could look back at you.

“I-” His eyebrows went up before he shook his head, “How do you feel?”

“Pissed,” you answered quietly, watching him nod wordlessly, “Annoyed.”

Joe nodded again, avoiding your eyes as he looked back at the telly.

You lied back on his chest, cocooning yourself into a ball with your knees close to your body as the both of you stayed quiet for a few moments.

It was as if the gears started working in your head before you pulled yourself away from your boyfriend, “You know he’s not–You know this isn’t true, right?”

“What?” He asked, “What’s not true?”

“I’m–When I look at you, I don’t see him,” you said, watching Joe look away. Your eyes widened slightly before you moved closer to him again, placing your hands on his cheeks to make him look at you, “If I weren’t ready to be with you, I would’ve told you,” you said, “What Harry and I had–What my last relationship was like, it isn’t–it’s not what I’m searching for with you. You were patient with me, you-no, fuck, you are patient with me. With his fans coming at you, with the shit we get, the comparison, all of that–all of that I wouldn’t have put you through if I weren’t serious about you and about what we have and–and God, if I can put an end to it all, I’d do it. In a heartbeat, I’d do it.”

“I trust you,” Joe said, “It’s when–Fuck, Y/N, it’s when he can’t keep his mouth fucking shut that I just–I don’t know, I think, alright?” He blurted with a shrug, “I freak out a little because I’m not stupid. I’m not–I’m not stupid, I know how much you loved him and I kno–Fuck, you were with the guy for like 3 years, weren’t you? And then he talks about you in interviews, and podcasts, and he’s just–he’s always so public with it, I don’t know. And now with this, I just–” he paused, “I freaked out,” he said quietly.

Thoughts on JJK Chapter 224 (Spoiler)

Sukuna's face is not only cut off but it also has an extra layer of shade over it. Gege uses this sort of paneling and coloring to show (supposed) superiority. The last time we saw this it was, again, with Sukuna during his fight with Yorozu. It's also not an accident that the first panel belongs to Sukuna.

Why does Sukuna still look like Megumi? Yorozu also asked the same question and the answer was something like "it's easier". Having an easier time fighting against Gojo is probably not part of that especially not with Gojo going all out with the intention of killing Sukuna and caring about Megumi later. In a sense, Megumi is already dead so regardless of what the good guys do, they can't make that situation worse.

Nice call back but also, how tf did that even work? Sukuna doesn't only take over the body when he's in control, he straight up changes it completely, so much even that he can rip out the heart and still live. Is he going to do something similar here as well?

And wow, but Gege brought Toji back again even if it's just a small panel. Gojo is probably going to talk to Megumi and he'll most likely bring up Toji. There is probably also a deeper meaning for why Gojo is dressed like Toji as well.

This panel is extremely funny when you look at it. Sukuna is in full swing and you can see sharp air currents where his fist went through and the extra lines along his arm and shoulder show that he's still in motion. Gojo on the other hand is drawn as if he were standing instead of being on the ground and there are no motion lines for him because he isn't moving at all. Only some fluffy clouds show us that some kind of unnatural motion happened here. Only in the third panel we see him moving again.

Apparently, this panel together with a later panel of Gojo are homages to two other manga from the same author. Yu yu hakusho and Hunter X Hunter. I nearly started both of them at some point. Sukuna's pose is from the older manga while Gojo's is from the current one and the character Sukuna is portraying is the stronger one of those two main characters.

At first I thought that they were flying through an elevator shaft but it's just a floor. The anime sequence of this will look amazing.

They look like buddies on the last page (much to the joy of the Gojo/Suku shippers) but this is just a deceitful way of Gege to start the actual fight. Gege's goal in writing is too achieve maximum entertainment and so we won't get another chapter with these hand to hand fight sequences but new ways in which they'll try to kill each other. Meaning: the 10 Shadows.

The end of the manga hasn't been announced yet, so Gojo vs Sukuna is not the beginning of the end. Crazy stuff is going to happen to conclude this fight and I can't say in which direction the manga is going to go after that.

COD things I think about just price being a dad towards his team makes me soft, also nik and price being married is so funny and also gives good angst prompts, and I always see this but graves trying to makes moves on soap and everyone stops him because they know he is a red flag (they are also jealous how graves make soap laugh so much he puts his hand on his chest) and prevents him for going further with soap.

I’ve been seeing so many Nik x Price fanarts on my twitter timeline and I’m living for it aye, that shit is just so good.

The one prompt I’ve got sticking out in my mind about Nik and Price is Nik coming back from his own little mission, tired as anything but excited to see his not-husband-husband (because ‘Nik, I’ll not say you’re my husband if you don’t give me a proper wedding day. I haven’t lived this long for nothing.’)

But he’s excited, smiling to himself as he thinks of the man, but the first thing he comes across is so wildly reminiscent of a husband coming home after work to his kids and partner in absolute chaos that he just freezes and stares for far too long.

There Soap and Gaz are, halfway up a flagpole and yelling down at Ghost who literally looks like he’s about to climb the damn thing, while Price stands to the side looking like a tired dad that can’t help but be endlessly amused and fond.

Nik walks over, still staring at the scene but taking a moment to pull Price into his side so he can kiss the side of his head before he’s asking what the fuck is going on.

Price snorts, waving a hand toward them uselessly as he speaks, “Oh y’know Soap. He was being a shit and dragged Garrick into it which ended up with Simon in the middle. They figured he’d have too much pride to climb a flagpole to get them but he’s seriously been considering it.”

Nic hums, smile cracking across his face when a startled scream and dread filled wail escape the two sergeants once Ghost actually starts climbing the damn thing.

“And you haven’t done anything because?” Price sighed again, head falling to the side so he could bury his face in Nik’s neck in an attempt to block out their madness.

“Was waiting for you to get back so you could give me some patience.” The pilot laughs a little louder this time, giving the man a longer lasting kiss for his troubles before sending him off.

“Do this now and I’ll make you some of that stew you enjoy so much.” Price is reluctant still, but he’s afraid of what will happen if he actually lets Ghost reach his sergeants while they’re still up that pole so he goes.

And if Nikolai’s promise of good food and his company makes him just a touch less harsher than he should’ve been then you won’t see any of the guys complaining about it.

Oh my god! The 141 glaring Graves down or purposely steering Soap away from him at every available chance? Oof, thats fun.

That mf would get so salty he’d purposely start getting bolder with his flirting attempts and make shittier jokes, because if his time with Soap is gonna get cut down he’s gonna make sure it’s still worth it.

Price desperately wants to just kick the American out on his ass and call it a day but he knows Soap’s got a bit of a soft spot for him, plus he’d actually face very real and very serious repercussions from his superiors if he did that with no reason… viable reason that is.

Gaz shamelessly interrupts and drags Soap away whenever he catches so much as a glimpse of Graves near them. He can barely stand him on a good day, let alone one where he’s constantly going after his best friend.

Ghost doesn’t do much more than stare him tf down in that silent, semi-creepy way he has. Graves gets wildly unsettled by it because he knows (in his little lizard brain) that if he were to go toe to toe with him, not only would he lose but he’d also disappear off the face of the Earth. And that’s the last thing he wants right now.

Soap of course doesn’t have a damn clue, is honestly just happy to be with his team as often as he has been lately. He also enjoys hanging out with Graves, he likes having someone he can just have casual, light conversations with where its nothing more than good laughs and friendly interactions.

an: YALL ITS BEEN A MIN! my bad!!! ive just been doing my thang and honestly fell out of love with this story for a sec. i had to rewatch some episodes of s4 to get myself back into it and here we are! this chapter is a bit of a filler, as next chapter is going to be Living Plus which should be a shitshow lmao. Even when the first season of Delirium came out and was trending on every platform, Stella was still flying mostly under the radar. Sure, she had her fans, but the hype around her was nothing like it was now.

Stella had given up on Twitter, as the reactions to her and Kendall were not so great. People either had no fucking idea who she was or were completely disappointed in her choice in men.

E! News even did a segment on her a few nights ago.

"Who is Kendall Roy's new girlfriend?" The peppy anchor said. "Well I've got you covered, folks!"

Some of Stella's scenes from Delirium flashed across the screen. They even had a blurry pap picture from the wedding to complete the package.

After the segment, her mother called her, almost in tears.

"Stelly, baby, what have you gotten yourself into?" She asked.

"Everything's fine, Mom, please don't worry."

"I don't want you involved with that family. Your dad hated ATN, remember? And that guy...how old is he?"

She cringed. "I know, I know."

"I thought you liked that boy from the movie?" Her mother mentioned.

"You mean Damien?" Damien was a costar who she went on two dates with over a year ago. she knew her mom wanted the best for her, but that had been over.

"He was such a nice boy. Why don't you call him?"

"He broke up with me, remember?"

"Oh." She thought for a moment. "What about--"

"I like Kendall, Mom."

"Really, babes?"

"Yeah..." Stella paused. "I mean, he's actually a really good guy."

"I'm sure he is, but doesn't he have kids? Doesn't he have an addiction problem? Are you really ready to deal with all that?"

"He's clean now, he told me."

"Isn't that what every addict says?"

"He barely has time to use, Mom, he's so busy."

"How does he make time for you, then?"

Stella thought for a moment. To be honest, she didn't know how to answer her mother's question. Things were hectic, to say the least, for the Roy's right now.

As she sat in her apartment, scrolling through Twitter and defending herself against her mother, Kendall was at his father's wake. He had invited her to go with him, but warned that all of his family and company would be there.

"It's gonna be a fucking fuckfest." He had told her.

Though meeting Shiv was definitely on her radar, Stella couldn't bring herself to go. It wasn't even really a wake, it was more like a business meeting in a dead man's penthouse. There wasn't a place for her there, and she didn't want one. Kendall didn't seem disappointed, as there were other things on his mind. Neither of them wanted to be questioned by his family when there were important decisions to be made.

"It's going to be tough, Mom, but I like him. It'll be okay."

It was later that night when Kendall appeared on Stella' doorstep again. They had been texting every day, but with Logan dying, Kendall and his siblings were busy. It almost felt like things were back to normal, if it weren't for the thousands of tweets about their relationship. She thought that Logan's death would have surpassed them in the news, but it only intensified the spotlight on her and Kendall.

Again, it was late at night when Kendall called her, saying he was at the front door. This time Stella was more prepared, as she was still up doing work. Still, she was eating cold pizza out of the box and wearing a big t-shirt and shorts when he called.

"You need to stop doing this." She teased, opening the door for him.

He was quiet as he stepped into the threshold of her tiny apartment. For once, he had nothing to say to her as he entered.

"What's up? How was the wake?" She ran her hands down his arms, genuinely concerned about his mood.

"It's--" He started. "It's me."

"What do you mean, baby?"

"It's me. I'm...I'm CEO. Me and Rome, we're gonna do it but it's me, mostly."

Stella's jaw dropped. Sure, she was used to having Kendall as COO of WayStar, but CEO? This was on a whole different level.

"You're what?"

"I'm the fucking CEO." He said, looking at her, his hazel eyes brimming with tears.

"You're the fucking CEO."

"Yeah."

Stella threw her arms around him. Though it was a bit of a shock, she knew that CEO was Kendall's dream. He worked his entire life to be in this position and he was finally getting to it. He returned the hug, picking her up.

"H-how did this even happen?"

"Dad wrote it down. Before he died. The board still has to decide, and the GoJo deal is still there, but for now, yeah, I'm it."

"Oh my God. That's insane."

"I know. Fuck."

"What have you done to celebrate?" She asked.

"Well, I just got out of the wake." He sat down on her couch. "I came right here."

Stella's heart soared. It made her incredibly happy that Kendall wanted to share this news with her first. She sat down next to him, trying to ignore the pizza crusts on the table next to them.

"Well what do you want to do?" She genuinely meant it, not in a sexual way.

"Honestly, I just really need to sleep. I, uh, have to be in the office tomorrow at eight."

"Oh, shit, okay."

"It's okay. I wanted to see you before the shit show starts tomorrow."

"Well, you're welcome to stay as long as you want, but I don't want to keep you."

"No, no." He pulled her into him. "You're stuck with me."

"In that case..." She kissed him softly. "Do you wanna smoke some weed?" Stella nodded towards the pipe on her endtable. There was a half-smoked bowl inside already.

Kendall smiled, "I think you read my mind, pretty girl."

She laughed, trying to reach the pipe while still in his grasp. Her hands reached the bowl and Kendall magically produced a lighter.

They sat across from each other on the couch, Stella handing the pipe to Kendall.

"You first, Mr. CEO." She giggled when a giant smile spread across his face.

He thanked her, taking the bowl and lighting it.

"Wait," Kendall said. "Won't this set off the alarm?"

"Oh, they're broken, don't worry." Stella laughed.

He nodded, lighting the pipe and inhaling.

After twenty minutes and a few too many puffs later, Stella was curled into Kendall's arms on her tiny couch.

"The wedding was nice, you know." She whispered into the cold morning air.

"I'm sure it was. Con planned the whole thing."

"It was beautiful. Even the loony cake."

Kendall chuckled. "I'm glad you stayed. It says a lot about you."

"I love family. And I love weddings."

"You want a big wedding, Stella girl?" He said, weed clouding their minds.

"Yeah." She said, eyes glazed over. "I want a huge ring too. You think you can do that, Ken?"

"Definitely." He smiled, secretly promising to himself that he would actually, one day, make that happen.

"Not a boat though. Kinda tacky."

"Anything you want, Stell."

"Think you can get both of our families to get along?"

"That, I'm not so sure about."

She was quiet for a second. As much as talking about weddings was fun, it just reminded her of her father. Who would walk her down the aisle? Who would she dance with at her first dance?

"What's on your mind?"

"Nothing, I--" She started, "I miss my Dad."

"Me too." Kendall said.

She immediately felt bad for even thinking about her own grief. Kendall's wound was still fresh while Stella had grieved over a year ago.

"What happened to him?"

"He, um, went to sleep one night and didn't wake up." Hot tears pricked at her eyes. "My mom woke up next to his body. It was like, the worst thing ever."

"I'm sorry."

"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be talking about it right now. You're like, grieving your own loss."

"My Dad was a piece of shit." Kendall laughed. "But he was still my Dad."

"I know baby." She looked up at him, both holding back tears. "I know."

He kissed her softly. All she could see in the dark room was his face.

"I think I love you." Kendall said, like it was the easiest thing in the world.

"What?" Stella sat up. She was not expecting to hear those words.

"Sorry, uh--" Kendall stuttered, and for once, he didn't really know what to say.

"You love me?"

"Yeah. I fucking do." They sat across from each other on the couch again, Stella frowning to herself.

She had no fucking idea what to say, but she knew one thing. "I love you too, Ken." Stella mirrored the goofy smile plastered on his face.

"I fucking love you, Stella girl." He kissed her face all over, pushing her down on the couch. "Let me make you mine."

She hummed as his lips traveled down her neck. "I'm yours, Kendall." Stella giggled as his cold hands reached under her shirt.

"As much as I'd like to fuck you, I really have to get some rest." He whispered, putting his head on her collarbone.

Stella nodded, knowing tomorrow was just first day as CEO and staying up late wasn't exactly the best idea. "Do you wanna stay?"

Kendall's face lit up. He nodded eagerly.

Stella was awoken the next morning by her dog growling and barking from the kitchen. He probably wanted to be taken out. She rubbed her eyes, realizing that there was barely any light coming from the curtains. It had to be four in the morning. She rolled over, expecting to find Kendall, but he was nowhere to be found.

"Ken?"

"In here!" His voice boomed from the kitchen.

Stella reluctantly got out of bed, walking to the kitchen and seeing possibly the funniest thing she had ever seen.

Kendall was sitting criss-cross on the counter, hiding away from her dog. Stella couldn't help but laugh. Her dog was less than 15 pounds and was all bark and no bite. Of course, Kendall didn't know that and probably had never been around dogs in his life.

"Ken, oh my God." She giggled, taking a picture of his scared state on top of the counter.

"He was barking at me!"

"He's a chihuahua, Kendall." Stella said as she scooped up the little dog.

"Last time I checked, chihuahuas were mean."

"Okay, true. But Kurt is a sweetie, right baby?" She kissed the dog on the forehead. "Don't be mean to mommy's friend."

"Friend?" Kendall pretended to be hurt.

"Sorry. Don't be mean to mommy's boyfriend."

Kendall got down from the counter where Stella noticed he had been trying to make coffee with her old ass coffee maker.

"Oh, God, you didn't try to make coffee, did you?"

Kendall looked at her sheepishly. "When did you get this fucking thing? 1998?"

"When I was two years old? No."

"Jesus, you're a baby." He smiled at her. The age-gap thing was kind of weird for her still, as she had never dated someone as old as Kendall.

"And you're fucking old." She said, rummaging around to make coffee for him. "This coffee isn't great, sorry."

"It's okay. I'll have Fikret get me some. He's on his way."

Stella frowned, not ready to let Kendall leave their little bubble yet. "I'm so excited for you, Mr. CEO." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "You're gonna kill it."

People jumping to call Taylor transphobic and jobless, and gleefully use any mistake they decide he makes to dismiss him or just be outright racist and mean. Even just the ones who only bring him up to «call him out» as they say is the last thing he deserves. He is the sweetest person, and just because he is able to act confident and not awkward at big gatherings people think he doesn’t have feelings or something? Horrible!

And then we have the people hating on Nick on behalf of Taylor for some f-ed up reason. Calling him ugly and inbread, trying to instigate other fandoms to hate on him by saying he supports pedophilia and is racist (tf?) and basically saying anyone who is a fan of Nick is an enemy of Taylor?? Someone even said they are going to make a hate account for Nick because they are tired of his fans? Make it make sense!

And then there is the ones who say Nick hates Taylor and always blame him if there are no pictures, or say they hate each other if they’ve somehow failed to perform their friendship in the exact way that pleases them.

I’m seeing accounts I thought were cool follow all these horrible people without a care in the world. How did this cute movie with these absolutely amazing actors get such a toxic fandom? Blocking doesn’t help as people keep making new accounts to spread hate. How do people exist in a space like that without losing all enjoyment??

As someone coming from a Chinese fandom which tends to be equally if not more messy than what I've experienced here so far, here are a few things I learned

There are going to be haters who ruin fun for anyone everywhere. There's no reason for people like them, but we can't control their existence, only how to react to them.

The things they call Taylor and Nick aren't true, so those insults are just words, as much as it's completely understandable that they hurt, they don't hold any actual value.

I mentioned this a couple of times before and I understand that this is entirely up to you, but X/Twitter isn't a good platform to be on if you want to avoid hater/fandom drama.

Ultimately you're here to have fun and enjoy content, and you curate your own fandom experience. It's up to you who to interact with, who to block, what and what not to believe in, what platform to use, what to say and do.

If it's too much, take a break. I took a break from my last fandom (the aforementioned Chinese fandom) because on Weibo, it was getting so toxic that I was feeling bad more than I was having fun, it and really started affecting my mood and actual productivity. Please prioritize your own well-being and mental health.

Remember and remind yourself of the parts of the movie, the boys and the fandom that made you fall in love in the first place. Try surrounding yourself with fandom friends who share your thoughts so when something happens, you're not alone and have a support system to fall back onto.
