hi anon, i'm really sorry but i'm terrible at remembering the names/authors of stuff i've read. i didn't want to leave you hanging and make you think i was ignoring your ask though! i can tell you that fics like that absolutely do exist, but you might have better luck checking ao3 than tumblr.
if anyone has any good fic recommendations where yuu/reader/mc doesn't put up with the boys' crap any longer, please do leave them in the comments! i know others are interested as well! i'm terrible at tagging but i'll try to add the right ones so people can find this to add their piece.

based off of a bunch of vivid dreams apparently, which-- (goddamn. i wish i had dreams that vivid and could write stuff of of em. but like the moment i wake up i just forget nearly everything. i write it down but sometimes i just decide not to or dont include any details. i decided to go and read through it and guess what? there's this one entry, 'twst strangling'. wtf does that even mean im so confused. i wish i elaborated. like, was it floyd? IDK. am i even talking about twst as in twst wonderland??)
basically: (this is part 1)
On the battlefield, the Phantom General is struck by a unique magic spell meant to sever one’s life.
all of them at the moment are pre-NRC. (the farthest so far is like. bby silver appearance.) like briar valley, general lilia thing. no chapter 7 spoilers (in the notes they didnt wanna touch any of it until it released in ENG. but i havent gotten to it yet so if there are any spoilers, idk.)
kind of harsh-ish (later ones r nicer tho). i mean, it cant be smooth sailing with a war general and a skittish person isekai'd from another world basically forced in each others company. sorry, did i forget to mention that lmfao (no future twst knowledge tho)
GIVE IT A TRY. im genuinely so shocked that its flew completely under the radar. (i mean self-inserts tend to, but CMON)

AAAAA you're so right!!! This fits Jade so well!!! I love it very much, I like this line especially:

I think it fit very well with how conflicted Jade is with wanting to confess and dreaming of one thing, knowing that it's not reality.

Hii it's the anon who sent the ask Abt looking other places for fanfic so I found this longfic called Ocean Mist on Wattpad and there's specifically a chapter called "Ticklish", Yuu finds out Azul is ticklish in that one and it's sooo cute(tbh I just loved the whole fic so much flustered Azul <3)
Additionally, on AO3, you may or may not have found these already because they're not tagged but they're tkl fics
Tickle Attack (You notice the octatrio isn't feeling well, cheer-up tickles ensue)
Tsuisorando Shotsu (I'm not sure if I spelled the name right, but there are quite a few tkl fic chapters in there, I think it's best to just select "read entire work" and command-f "tickl" bc that's what I did to avoid anything potentially explicit) But just in case you don't want to come across anything like that, there's the chapter 'Our Lovable Octopus' which might have had one vague explicit implication but I don't think there was anything major and the tickling was wholly sfw
A Fine Line Between - I just liked this fic in general the M isn't for any sexual content, and there's a tkl scene (if you wanna skip to just that part, I'd recommend just clicking read entire work and command-f 'tickl')
Also, I'm not sure if you already know this (probably do, but just in case) there's some fics w/Azul that were made in 2023)
On Wattpad, NGL I just looked up 'twst tickl' and sifted through the stuff I got so sorry that I couldn't rec much stuff, also I saw this one that was a transcript of tkl audios but there was an explicit chapter in there meaning this was probably a kink for them so I clicked out)
Ffn's mostly AO3 cross posting so there isn't anything there you wouldn't find on AO3 (I'm saying this to myself because I was about to check only to realize that everything there's on AO3, sorry)
Tbh I mostly looked for every single fic I could find on AO3 and then ended up also finding sfw tkl scenes in the process (I also command F'd a bunch of longfics) so I can mostly just say specific scenes from certain fics sryyy

Treacherous + CaterVil
(plus one RookVil fic rec at the end)
The premise? Fake dating-ish. It’s been done but goddamn it’ll be done again. It’s just so good?? I’ll never get tired of fake dating and catching feelings. But maybe tweaking it a bit?
I think of an au, where Vil, who thinks Cater’s feelings are rooted in wanting to use him for clout, offers to fake date him, as a sweet high school relationship will also help Vil’s Ice Queen image. Cater refuses despite actually having feelings because he wants something real–more than that, he wants to be seen. Vil now is stuck because he needs to date someone and as good as an actor he is, while he’s sure he can play the part of a good boyfriend in public, he’s also aware any blowback from an inevitable breakup (cause again, fake relationship, fake feelings) could actually damage his relationship instead of helping him. And Cater was a good option because if they were both using each other, they would have gotten what they wanted from a relationship, they would have been on good terms at the end of it. But Cater refused, which in itself is mind blowing for Vil because it puts forth the thought that maybe Cater’s feelings are actually genuine?? But then he also doubts because our boy’s got some insecurities, and convinces himself that Cater refusing actually means that there were no feelings involved at all.
I’m conflicted with where I want to take this??? Two options.
Vil is now working to actually woo and court Cater/convince him to fake date him, catching feelings in the process, except now it's CATER who thinks Vil wants to use him. Which sucks because he has feelings for Vil. Happy ending of COURSE, where Vil and Cater both come clean. Vil asks Cater out a final time and says it doesn’t have to be public. Proves his feelings are real.
Vil who now has to date someone and act the part of a boyfriend that is not Vil’s true self (because his true self is what got him in this mess in the first place) commits to the bit. He’s not “Vil Schoenheit” he’s “Vil Schoenheit the Good Boyfriend” except he’s treating it as a role. He’s got a month before his publicist tells him he’s got to get a partner, so he once again goes to Cater. Not to ask him to be his fake boyfriend, but to “study” for the role he’s assigned himself. Cater is constantly asking him out on dates so he must have some idea of what it’s like to be a considerate boyfriend right? Cater agrees to teach him (his heart is hurting but hey this is practice for Vil’s fake partner not real partner right?) and they spend the month like so, with Vil falling for Cater more and more. Happy Ending of course.
But like. Either way the song?? Fits???

Like this could be Cater about Vil. This could be Vil as he’s falling in love with Cater. This just. UGH. All the feelings.

I can’t decide if its a choice getting swept away??? Both of them are being carried away by these events, with Vil falling into it, into these feelings and wanting for more than ever for it to be real.
This slope is treacherous

I, I, I like it
Cater constantly in the mindset that this could end at any time, hurt him any time, because it’s not real. Loving and hating the attention, wanting it but not like this. Knowing he is Icarus and Vil is the sun. Understanding why Icarus flew too close in the first place. Love.
Two headlights shine through the sleepless night
And I will get you, and get you alone
Your name has echoed through my mind
And I just think you should, think you should know
That nothing safe is worth the drive
And I would follow you, follow you home
I'll follow you, follow you home
NOTHING SAFE IS WORTH THE DRIVE. Taking chances even when you think you’ll get burned. Vil throwing away this whole fake-dating scheme because Cater is more important, and he’s decided he’s fine with being perceived as unapproachable to the public as long as Cater keeps looking at him.
And now as for RookVil???
Listen. The whole overblot, Neige, losing by ONE vote, ROOK’S vote thing. Loss of trust. Hurt. Pain. Choosing Rook anyways. (Read a fic that just. Blew me away and just. Cannot stop thinking of it. I’ll link it once ao3 is up again.)

Speaking of baby Tweels, I have a fic rec, if you’d like one. “The seven habits of highly unfortunate souls: a transmigrator’s guide to the coral sea” by mercen, in which the tweels are threels! It does admittedly start out pretty brutal(?), since the first major part has a lot of “survival of the fittest” as mc must not only adjust to their truly tiny fish body but also survive all the predators hunting them. Still, lots of intriguing worldbuilding and baby tweels of course! ~H Anon

H Anon, I'm about to go absolutely fucking feral, this is exactly the kind of realism I want to see happening in Worldbuilding!!!!! (Even if it's not my own.) The shit the Octa Trio implied or even directly stared to have happened to them, makes the Coral Sea not nearly as idealistic as its Disney counterpart, and I really wanted to see someone bring that forth!!! Thank you for this!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if you have any specific characters you'd like to read about, so I'll mention some of my favorite writers!!
alright so. first things first. if you haven't read I've become the villain's lover! yet I urge you to do so because it's so good. genuinely I think about it constantly. the manhwa tropes for each dorm leader fit so well and are delightfully cliche to read about, definetly one of my faves!! Liya is super sweet too and her writing deserves all the love!!
if you'd like some good soulmates au with Jade then check A human myth of red out! even if soulmates aus are not your cup of tea (as they aren't much of mine either) I still reccomend it, Aqua's writing is wonderful and all of the inner reflections and break of expectations accompany Jade's character so well!
DREW'S WRITING OMG. this Cater roommates au is AMAZING. GIVE IT A READ!!! Cater is soooo in character and it's so funny too! also, this fake dating with Jade fic. literally life changing. one of my faves ever ever ever. my mind lives there I'm always thinking about how good it is! got me kicking my feet and giggling!!!
idk how long you've been in the fandom, but I think you might have stumbled upon Laurie's writing before, all her scenarios are so nice to read, she's very creative! I personally really like this Reader turns into a siren (with Jade), as you call feel all the allure from reader and Jade's yearning!
KIMIKO IS SOOO FUNNY, seriously you'll be laughing out loud at your phone when reading her works! one of my all time faves of hers is this living with the housewardens as it's so domestic... I love domesticity... but fr give her masterlist a look, it's super worth it!!
I also really like Aurora's househusband series, since, as I said, domesticity is very apealling to me. take this Househusband Azul as an example and if you like it, do check out the event masterlist!
Moray's butler Jade is so nice too, I really like the dynamic as he is a bit of a butler type character!
Pando's writing is also super nice to read! I've really liked her recent Rook event prompt, even if you don't like Rook that much I garantee this will make you fall a bit for him, the imagery is just soooo good!
Mob's dorm leaders turn into cats series seems to be so cute too! I'll admit I still have to read it, but I'm sure it's very good (I promise I'll read it once I get enough time to do so!!)
Rui's Diasomnia freetime is so cute and funny, definetly a light hearted read to lift up your mood! their works make me smile a lot!
now. hear me out. it's time I go absolutely insane over them. if you haven't checked out their writing yet then WHAT ARE YOU DOING?? PLS PLS DO!!
MAL IS SO FUNNY, all her smau posts are wonderful, I really like the Kalim idol series! all the characters interactions are so funny fr she got me giggling at my phone with every update! the ignoring them series was the first of their works that I've read and it still has got a special place in my heart <3 how about your good dose of first years roommates? and if you're feeling up to some angst how about this Diasomnia royal au?
AMORA'S WRITING IS LOVELY, all of the imagery and metaphors are truly breathtaking, I never get tired of reading her works <33 it's a MUST to read this amazing Jamil fic, literally so canon, I love the dynamic between reader and Jamil soooo much! Amora's Jamil is god tier, you'll fall in love with her writing too! also, take this Jamil love languages, it'll warm up your heart <3
I don't even know where to start with Cherry's writing. the way she elaborates headcanons is very captivating and how she inserts little references for their disney movies is so endearing! I've been thinking a lot about this Silver fic lately, the whole atmosphere is so reminiscent of The Sleeping Beauty! honestly? here, just take her whole masterlist and have fun, you'll be there for hours, so enjoy to your hearts content <3
obviously there are many other writers and fics I could reccomend, but these are the first ones that come to mind! twst fandom has a lot of wonderful people that are willing to share their works with us and I'm very grateful for that! Pair of Dice / Octo-trio-centric TWST fic (Fic rec)
Azul's first contract he ever created was long since forgotten--until two pairs of golden eyes stared at him back from the dark. The gift he had given to Floyd and Jade years ago was voided, and they were left fumbling in the dark.

you know what? you know how in fandoms as you start reading fics you just start to compile headcanons from other fics?? this. (also apparently moray eels are partially blind? and that makes it so much better? like sad for them but that i could absolutely see this as canon)
also oh my god the contract in the shell like AWEE fhSDIFHUUIeh but also sadge because if the term that i assume was something like 'dont go against azul' wasn't there (because it didn't need to be but bby azul thought it shouldve had like other terms like a contract) then all would be well
i cant even imagine though like what wouldve happened if their contract was with the others though. i mean like instead of them nullifying it by doing a thing, it just suddenly is gone because the paper gets disintegrated. and they're just in the water with yuu and the others and it just suddenly turns dark. D:
sad there hasnt been a second part written but aghh (if i had to choose a favorite. after heartslabyul, octavinelle would probably be up there)
