I say now is the time I start updating my tumblr gallery again... I've been slacking...

More TYK design studies! Here, specifically, an evolution of Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing throughout their lives, to see what stages they got through to reach who they are during book canon.

I headcanon ZZS as this little smug genius and tried to keep this unimpressed, self-satisfied smirk throughout, with I hope a noticeable shift for the last two.

5 y.o., still living at the Zhou estate, with his family. He's a bit of a weak child (pulled from ZZS saying he didn't have nearly as good a constitution as ZCL does), but quite smart, already with a knack for spying on people.

10 y.o. has joined Siji manor, proud and smug and feeling superior for having been chosen by QHZ and being hella good at what he does.

15 y.o. is now freshly appointed sect leader, and I think it's going well enough, that he's quite feeling himself there.

20 y.o., has now been working for HLY for a bit more than a year, roughly.

25 y.o., right after the ending of Qi Ye, right after the war, right after he pretty much got his very personal bad ending. I feel like he's quite numb, can only survive through floating above everything and just focus on work and some distracting, meaningless things.

29 y.o., TYK canon after unmasking.

With WKX I wanted to represent, without being too on the nose, the progressive loss of humanity.

5 y.o., still living with his Jianghu heroes parents. Quite a happy and playful child, more interested in having fun than studying. Probably a natural at many things, however, such as learning his father's sword techniques (unlike the arts of healing lessons that he probably didn't pay much attention to)

10 y.o., has been in the valley for a few months already, surviving.

18 y.o., is a servant for whom is currently the Ghost Valley Master.

21 y.o., is now the GVM himself, has successfully lead a coup against his own master and then won what was basically a battle royale for the throne.

26 y.o., is now a seasoned GVM, has been in this position for much longer than average, is working on his plan.

30 y.o., TYK canon.

For reasons, it's quite important to me to have this overview and to consider in detail each of their progression since I think it participates heavily into how I understand them as people. The followings were already posted in my previous post with all the design, but since it's thematically coherent I will add the families and some details about them:

The Wen family, especially the parents, were Jianghu heroes in the best wuxia tradition. Wen Ruyu had to look a like Wen Kexing, and Gu Miaomiao be this pure, strong, energetic heroïne. As mentioned above, I like child WKX to be a very fun and energetic child himself-- he likes the colours his mother wears, likes to run around and look at beautiful things. I found that the two buns were a cute addition to his design. He's about 3 y.o. on this illustration. The Zhou family is meant to look plain and normal, as ZZS himself-- little parenthesis: although I do like to draw ZZS as handsome, I think he isn't much more than that; I think that it's fine to consider that he looks rather plain, especially next to people like WKX or, obviously, JBY or YBY. Since ZZS seems to have a fascination with heroes in the book, I like to imagine that he was naturally the least heroic of the brotherhood; both his brother and sister being a better match than himself (although ultimately they are all fairly normal people). I liked to have his mom be the originator of his height (I think he should totally be the tallest of the brotherhood, btw).

Käärijä Antwerp gig recap!!!

I HAVE THOUGHTS of course i do i dont shut the hell up ever you should know this about me by now

i arrived there at around 9 am bc of train delays but there were only 10 people there then and for the longest time it was just the 15 of us so 15 gang ily sm!!! i loved sitting and chatting with all of you you made those 10+ hours go by SO FAST ❤️❤️❤️

the tour bus arrived at around 12ish and we all stood around for a while until they finally came out

häärijä BEELINED to Ed, ignoring us completely, it was so funny

he was so sweet oh my god i love him 💛

while he distracted us Jere sneaked off the bus

as Jere walked back to the bus i saw him wave so i waved back and he came over to say hi!!! right in front of me!!! he was so sweet too 😭💚

STUDY IN LOKI ROMANCE

Part 3: 1893

Since we're only a few days away from the last episode, I decided to COUNT DOWN everything we´ve got so far ( that can be interpreted very easily as romantic ) and discuss what the actual fuck is going on with second season. Because even though I shipped lokius practically from S1E2, I absolutely did NOT expect this kind of development. (Not that I´m complaining)

Warning: This is gonna be LONG post, lots of screenshots, lots of SPOILERS, lot of "oh-my-god-they-so-cute" language, and little bit of meta.

I originally thought that this post would be everything at once, but since I have just too many screenshots this time around, I´ll have to split it. so every post will be one episode. Color coding means:

IIIIIIIIII = anything, that coud potentialy be just acting choice.

IIIIIIIIII = everything else (tzn.: whatever was written, and/or carefully prepared by filmmakers. )

side note: I already wrote, about how amazing it is, that Mobius is unable to fight but fights anyway and how beautifuly, and ridiculously brave he is HERE. But this is about Loki/Mobius interactions, so I´ll try my best not to talk about THAT. (Even when I´m really happy, that s2 continues with this formula and Mobius is still his completely defenseless while aggressively brave self. I love him, btw.)

I have several things to say here:

ever heard about when one person is "forced" to have fun for the first time, and to try new things by the other person, and he´s protesting and is all about work and serious matters, but secretly loves it and is visibly relaxed and happy? - Because I´m sure this is some bloody romantic comedy trope, that everyone have seen about hundred times!

"Oh look, you have a piece of food on the chin, let me just…"

I know I already said this somewhere, but, this is the moment, where in my language suddenly (completely randomly) switched from formal way of speaking to each other to intimate way of speaking to each other. (I´m Czech, btw, and I have no idea, what happened in that recording studio but it had to be interesting)

30) Victor/Ravonna - the most transparent mirror ever:

THIS scene? Are you kidding? Ravonna running towards Victor: "Mr Timley! are you okay? And Mobius running practicly at the same time towards Loki with: You allright?" and both helping their man up on their feet?! IN SYNC! this is too much.

WTF

31) THE BIKE THIS. this is the most GREENLY green point, I can think of. Someone had to have this vision. This idea. And put it in to screenplay. Someone had to find the bike. Someone was shooting this. Camera is moving around them. And they were all like GREAT idea, let´s have them riding tandem bike while chasing Ravonna and Timely, that makes complete sense! (even when we have Loki chasing Brad USING MAGIC one episode back) anyway... ever heard about "let´s do this crazy stupid thing - absolutely not - and then they do the thing" trope?

32) Loki going with Mobius, not even thinking about it anymore.

And to think, that I was expecting something like S01E03 (Lamentis episode)! Once again, I wasn´t prepared for amount of Lokius content I was actually served. What a surprise! 🤯

Let’s talk about 401K Contributions. They are frequently great! Your employer may say “We will match up to 3% of your 401K contributions.”

That means if you invest 1%, they will invest 1%. A total of 2% is invested.

If you invest 2%, they invest 2%. A total of 4% is invested.

If you invest 3%, they will invest 3%. A total of 6% is invested.

If you invest 4%, they will invest 3%. A total of 7% is invested.

They may offer higher or lower than 3%.

401Ks are sometimes given a bad rap because the fees are high and/or your investment options are limited -- maybe the companies being invested in are not in line with your politics, maybe they are in company stock, maybe they are in line with your employer’s politics... you get the picture.

It should be noted that 401K rollovers are possible -- i.e. you take the money from this account and put it into another 401K, which has better options for you and/or lower fees.

401Ks are a bit tricky in a few ways.

Firstly, they are taken pre-tax. If you make $100, and invest 3%, and your company matches this, you have $6 invested -- and the resulting $97 paycheck is taxed ($100 - your $3 contribution). So your immediate tax bill is lowered a bit, and there is more money invested.

For easy math, let’s say your tax bill is 25% and you make $100/check

$100 check - 25% = $75 take home with $0.00 invested.

$100 check - 3% ($3) invested, matched = $97 taxable - 25% = $72.75 take home and $6 invested.

So, yes, you are functionally taking home less ($75 vs $72.75 = $2.75 less take home)

But your $3 invested has the potential to grow

And your immediate return is 100% (your company matched your $3, a total of $6 now exists in an account under your name).

So now your fund has $6 to grow.

Which means a combination of 401K fund fees + market downturn has to drop +50% before your contribution is affected.

...which is a significantly bigger drop than the October 28-29, 1929 crash that kicked off the Great Depression which was 13% then a secondary 12%. If that happened to you, your $6 would look like:

Day 1: $6 - 13% = $5.22

Day 2: $5.22 - 12% = $4.59

Which is still $1.59 more than half of what you invested btw.

Let’s be very ungenerous and truncate +0.8% of the S&P 500 growth since it began, and calculate an 11% average return over 10 years. You invested $3 ONCE, you were matched $3 ONCE, your fund is now worth about $15.35. It doubled between years 7 and 8. If you hold it another 10 years (total 20), it is now worth about $43.58.

I want to stress I did easy math and rounded down to 11%, nearly a full percentage point

And that this was a single investment of $3 and a single match of $3.

This is an averaged figure because “hey sometimes the market crashes” (I remember vividly the aftermath of coping mechanisms I took to get through 2008)

This means you have to be careful and patient. It also means that company match? It helps protect your cheddar. If it helps, think of it as “the company match lost money before my invested cash kicked in.” See above 1929 market crash example.

The tax is taken when you withdraw the cash from the fund, typically in retirement as there are typically pre-retirement penalties. The entire scheme is designed to encourage you to save for retirement (cough and propel the economy at the same time cough)

And when you’re in retirement, you take out bits and pieces at a time, so there is still cash kicking around and growing.

Secondly, as I say above, 401Ks roll over.

If you find yourself in a fund that has a high fee (”high” defined by “you have googled other 401K plans and see better deals”) and/or you leave this job and/or your 401K plan is limited, you can shove it somewhere else.

Consult your plan to see if there are penalties (probably not) or fees (probably not) and/or how to do this. You may have to wait a certain amount of time to be “vested” -- a fancy way of saying “your account must be THIS OLD to move and/or be considered fully yours.”

If you had an old job that you left ages ago and forgot to roll over the 401K, it is still out there somewhere, google “find old 401Ks” and pursue the research. You’ll get it back.

"So my employer match is additional money?”

Yes.

“I want the money before I can retire to buy a house and/or cover medical bills!”

This is possible through various paths, but is tricky, and frequently expensive. Consult your money folks (the people who handle your 401K, this will be separate from your employer) on risks and rewards.

However, and I want to stress this, even with the penalties, because your employer matched something, there is a bigger potential pool of cash there.

“...my 401K is down like -X%... why am I pumping money into something losing money...”

It’s tricky and requires a lot of discipline, but unless you’re preparing for retirement in the next 5-10 years, being down means buying stock is cheaper.

Shares in your 401K that cost $100 before are now priced at $75. If you’re 20+ years from retirement, if they are worth more, you’ll get more money out.

Thems the hard knocks of the stock market.

It’s easy to panic when things are low but unless you are selling the stock soon, it’s not affecting you directly.

Fund set ups vary greatly, but a massively common feature is your fund is not buying stock directly. It is buying any number of stock bundles.

Your 401K is dipping your stock group(s) are dropping, as the individual stocks in the group are dipping, and someone on the other end of the chain is in charge of fixing that as best as possible.

Sometimes that means “wait” because this is a predictable period (a company spending a ton of money to upgrade, etc). Sometimes that means “rebalance” (”these companies aren’t going to recover, we gotta ditch them and figure something out.”

The suits in charge of the 401k fund(s) are in charge of figuring this out.

“So... you’re saying... I should just trust these suits?”

Oh, moonbeams, no.

This is a litany of information that is very entry level and is frequently not taught anywhere. Use as information to begin Step 1 of Many. The number, shape, and direction of your steps will vary based on your individual circumstances and mindset and resources. None of this is financial advice!

“I can’t afford to contribute that much and/or at all.”

I hope your circumstances improve soon.

“This is a weird thing for a ghost post office to talk about.”

Besides having a chuckle at a blog that was labeled “mature content” and had just random stuff posted (the inspiration for this post), there is actually a long history of the post office offering basic banking services and some are being piloted again / another article.

Given the USPS’s legal obligation to every citizen in this country, I am a huge fan of any reasonable service that it can similarly offer that both boosts viability to the office and accessibility to people.

Plus the whole “atty is a agent of lunar chaos thing” and i am the atty in this equation, so, y’know, on brand.

“I would like to learn more about the stock market etc.”

I don’t understand why / I hate that / basic savings accounts exist when high yield versions exist. But that bitterness at the financial industry at large is a secondary reason why this post is made.

The tertiary reason is I tremendously enjoy being your wacky, excessively colorfully dressed, gothy neighbor who you don’t quite know what they do for a living, but you do know they are living their best life. It’s a sitcom staple.

So we’re almost at chapter 30 already! And we know Jinx will probably go to or past 100 chapters, and the author said that the main plot hasn’t even started yet!!

(Jinx chapter 29+ spoilers)

There’s a lot of elements at play here:

- Kim Dan’s debt to Jaekyung. How long does he have to work for him to pay it back? Probably years.

- Kim Dan’s sick grandmother. Who will probably die at some point during the story. I don’t think it would make sense for her to miraculously get better and then Kim Dan can take her home? He doesn’t have a home.

- Kim Dan’s sexuality. It’s never stated that Kim Dan likes men! All we know is that he was SA’d at his last job, had to leave, and now is doing this with Jaekyung because of his debt. I want to know his preferences! Btw, was Kim Dan a virgin before? I forget.

- Jaekyung‘s entire backstory. Where is his family? How did he become a fighter? Why? Before Kim Dan, he was all alone in his huge apartment training 24/7 with random dudes/fwb coming over before his matches. Has he ever loved anything? How did he become so obsessed with winning and being the champion?

- Jaekyung‘s insomnia and general lack of rest. Will he work himself past exhaustion and collapse?

- Jaekyung‘s bad shoulder. Will he continue to fight through the pain with no issues?

- Jaekyung‘s jinx. Will there come a day when Dan refuses him before a match?

- This new guy, Heesung. Jaekyung‘s childhood friend? Ex-boyfriend? Distant cousin? New rival? Just some actor who has studied MMA fighting with him in the past for his acting roles?

- Potato. Okay, is something going to happen with Potato? Everyone except Kim Dan is kinda mean to him or at least doesn’t take him seriously. Will he and Kim Dan become friends? (I hope so).

So what is going to be the main plot?? I’m guessing it’s this new Heesung guy because otherwise idk what his purpose is. Love triangle with him and Dan?? ♡♡

Or maybe if he sees the situation Dan is in... either because he likes Dan or because he wants to get back at Jaekyung, maybe he’ll offer Dan another job and pay off his debt to Jaekyung. Seems like he’d have the connections and money.

And if Dan doesn’t owe Jaekyung anything anymore, he’ll surely leave, right?

Ok, new theory ~

Heesung either likes Dan, wants to take Dan away from Jaekyung, or for whatever reason, pays off Dan’s debt to Jaekyung. Meanwhile, drama between Dan and Jaekyung ensues ~ then, Heesung offers him another PT job. Dan, for obvious reasons, takes it and leaves Jaekyung. Although knowing Dan, he’ll feel a little bad about it.

Then, Jaekyung can’t find anyone to sleep with before a match, loses, basically hits rock bottom either because of the loss itself, or because he gets seriously injured, or both (I’m still kinda hoping for the whole amnesia thing to happen).

Because of this, he’s out until he can recover. Kim Dan learns of this and because he’s an angel, he goes back to him to help him get better because he feels responsible.

Sova headcannons with trans-masc reader part 2

I am so fucking mad that tumblr did not saved any of my work. I DO NOT REMEMBER ANYTHING I WROTE THIS LIKE 2 WEEKS AGO.

Ok time for improvise. In the math class.

If there is a chance to choose his partner for a mission, he will choose you if not anthing specificly needed. He likes your presence near him. It calms him down.

But if you get hurt, he will blame himself. He says he is sorry and its his fault that you got shot with his more fatal wounds while Sage heals both of you. You look him up and down with a brow raised as if you are judging him how he manages to think about you while he is in this situation.

Will make dad jokes just to piss you off.

Normaly he does not laughs at his jokes. Mostly at your reaction. But one time you did a dad joke to him during a mission and he let out a snort. The enemy bullet nearly hit his forehead.

Sage scold you both. Definitely.

Phoenix and Jett insisted to hear the joke and when you told them, even Sage let out a little giggle.

Will make your drink of choice when he goes to the kitchen to get his. Just a form of care.

He will let you make masks on his face if you insist. Even wearing a bunny bandana to keep his hair away. He does get pulled into the "girls night" in the HQ sometimes so he is used to that. (Sova, Omen and Phoenix are one of the girls. Well, i will definately wrote this to an HQ headcannons post.)

If he sees you talking with Chyper, he will get jelaous. Not like he will grab you by your arm and pull you away from him. Its more like he will side eye you both while you two have a conversation.

If Chyper gets tilted by him, after the coversation he will talk to Sova. "You know their 'secrets' right?" "I know them more than you could ever." (Insert the grumpy cat sova picture.)

He will chase you everywhere in the HQ if you steal his cape. This man runs like Usain Bolt with those legs and height of his but he will match your speed for afew minutes just to have fun. Then it is over like a jumpscare.

You can cling onto him like a sloth. He wont even budge. Looking down at you with a confused face as if "wtf are u doin?"

He is bad at video games so if you want to play with him, you'll need to teach him first. He tries his best but he still loses. Its like he does that on purpose at this point. He much prefers to cheer for you when you and Gekko have a tournament between.

He is willing to share his babushkas food with you. You are that important to him. And he will be proud if his babushka and you have a good realitionship. Even if its just from the screen.

He is the sweetest man alive. Biggest support for you and a relaible friend at most. We love him 🥰

Getaway Car

The song is about Taylor using an affair to get away from a bad relationship. Before Midnight's High Infidelity dated the events as prior to the 2016 Met Gala and before the 1989 TV Vault had lyrical similarities it was widely accepted as about the PR relationship with Tom Hiddleston. Poor Tom was rather surprised, considering they dated for a few weeks, it was after Taylor and Calvin split up and more than a year before Reputation came out. (BTW this is a 1971 Jaguar e-type, a classic British sports car, Harry the same car in red)

Getaway Car is written to the muse who Taylor had an affair with, someone who is surprised and she is sorry for hurting. For context, her relationship with Calvin and his behaviour can safely be called problematic (x, x, x, x, x, x and x). CH really 'Got out some popcorn / As soon as her rep starting going down, down, down'. Her mental state:

Getaway Car is a pithy and fun but honest about poor choices. Although a year later it's closer to 29 April, 2016, with more hindsight Taylor was warmer towards to the 'other man' in High Infidelity on Midnights:

Do you really want to know where I was April 29th? Do I really have to chart the constellations in his eyes? [and] Do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life?

Taylor also describes Reputation as a love story, many songs on which are about Harry, as are those on Lover which also express regret. I think the alleged affair would have been motivated from getting out of a situation which was not good for Taylor, however as we know from Harry's Debut it really hurt him. Lover and Folklore express a lot of regret, and I think they have both moved on.

And Taylor's longer, curly, darker coloured hair. To me, this looks like her hair in May and June 2017. Getaway Car was (at least in part) written and recorded in 2017. I think this adds to a song with more storytelling that diary writing, I think Taylor was quite affected by trying to get out of the relationship with Calvin, one she's sung about little and never warmly.

You can read Jack's comments about the video. It's interesting Jack commented on why it was being recorded, it seems Taylor did that a lot in the Rep era, and TBH it seems good practice to prevent any copyright claims, she also talks to the camera to note the lyric.

Live Performances

Getaway car was the first song in the Reputation Encore, it followed the Why She Disappeared poem. The tour visuals were reminiscent of I Knew You Were Trouble, the Reputation stage is an X and shot to showcase that here. The motel is called "Last time motel" which is reminiscent of The Last Time. It ends on Taylor getting into a black vintage convertible reminiscent of Blank Space.

It was an Era's surprise song 27 May 2023, Jack Antonoff joined Taylor on stage and added a nice sarcastic "oh yeah, we're both sorry." The last time Taylor was seen with MH was the 18th May, the break up was reported 5 June 2023.

Lyrics

'It was the best of times, the worst of crimes' is a reference to Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities. The cities being Paris and London. This quote is in a passage that describes Taylors 2016 quite well: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, [...] it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair” It reminds me of "This Summer is the Apocalypse".

'Worst of Crimes' is similar to Where do broken hearts go "All the rest of my crimes don't come close"

"Struck match and blew your mind" is similar to "Strike a match, then you blow it out" in Say don't go. and Right Where You Left Me: "Matches burn after the other"

The ties were black, the lies were white In shades of gray in candlelight I wanted to leave him, I needed a reason

"Ties were black, likes were white" appears to point to the Met Gala, and I do think that is the intention of the line (and relationship) Taylor also was at the Black-tie Vanity Fair Oscar Party in LA on 28 February 2016, the day Harry tweeted (in LA) an Elvis Stuck on You Lyric "You can shake an apple off an apple tree." Harry was not at the Vanity Fair party, however he also has leaks from this era that refer to picking his muse up and driving them home. I did something bad and Sweet Creature have more on that time.

The shades were grey is similar to 50 Shades of Grey, which Taylor wrote I don't wanna live forever for about Harry. Candles are also in New Years Day "Candle wax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor" and Hunger "Candles burnt down to the floor"

"X" marks the spot where we fell apart He poisoned the well, I was lyin' to myself I knew it from the first Old Fashioned, we were cursed We never had a shotgun shot in the dark (oh!)

'X Marks the Spot where we fell apart' is line from Hilary Duff Breathe in. Breathe Out which Taylor said she liked in an Tumblr post 25 June 2015 and used the melody of in Paper Rings and title in Labyrinth. It's a song and line that is sad about the relationship not working out with someone untruthful. In the 2015 timeline the timing of this post is a little interesting.

'Poisoning the well' is meaning Calvin ruined the chance of this affair by discrediting or ridiculing it, with the diss track Ole.

An Old Fashioned is whiskey, also in Gorgeous "Whiskey on Ice, Sunset and Vine, you’ve ruined my life by not being mine"

Never had a shotgun shot in the dark is similar to Say Don't Go: "I've known it from the very start / We're a shot in the darkest dark"

The line "think about the place where you first met me" is also often referred to in reference to Taylor meeting Tom Hiddleston at the Met, which again I think is with intention. Though there is not a particular reason to think someone at the Met Gala would do this.

It's also generally assumed Harry and Taylor met at the Kids Choice Awards in 2012, however neither has confirmed this, and it is simply the first time they were seen together by fans. As 2011 timeline outlines it seems Harry and Taylor were already connected then. These lyrics indicates their first meeting was brief (Holy Ground), she was not over Jake (Begin Again) and she was not looking for love (Suburban Legend):

Hi :) so I've seen ppl talk about the ID cards, and I wanted to share my findings about Meursault's

I managed to match the font and the size to the rest (it's arial. basic bitch)

and. This doesn't rlly surprise me, but his name alone is too short to fill the name section. In the book, it IS his last name, though we never learn his first name

So Meursault has a first name.

Also, he's most likely 25-29, because those were the numbers that fit the best in the age section, based off the assumption he wrote his age in letters (23, 36 and 40 too, but like, I don't think so. this man is not above 35)

(btw when brute forcing the age I used the - instead of the space between numbers, like twenty-six/vingt-six. it's no longer a needed grammatical rule in French, but that was pretty recently, and I think that Meursault is just the type of guy to stick to his ways)

With 230(!) votes, the results are in for round one of the Nice Jewish Character Showdown! Voting for round two is live here, and is open until 6 pm EST on Friday, October 28th. Check below the break for detailed results on the first round of voting!

The Pines twins scratched the Strilondes out of their save file, winning 88.3% of the vote (203) versus their 11.7% (17).

Tommy Pickles is being put down for his nap, losing the vote with 38.7% (89) against Ron Stoppable's 61.3% (141).

As much as I love Toby (and had him as the winner on my own bracket), his political know-how was no match for James Buchanan Barnes, raking in only a third of the votes (31.3%, 72 votes, versus 68.7% and 158).

The war of the SoCal NJBs who rocked our tv screens in the early 00's has been decided, with Seth Cohen losing the vote (19.6%, 45 votes) to Disney Channel's Gordo (80.4%, 185). The power of a bar mitzvah episode!

The first of several tight races, Gretchen Weiners has run over Cher Horowitz with a school bus (don't worry, she's fine), with a vote of 118 (51.3%) to 112 (48.7%).

Second of the neck and neck races, turns out Fran Fine is just what the doctor prescribed, beating Barbie 117 (50.9%) to 113 (49.1%). All those Christmas dresses really don't work in Babs' favor, huh?

Whatcha doin', Rachel Berry? Not winning the tournament, that's for sure! Isabella took Rachel out to the curb, with an impressive margin of 205 (89.1%) to 25 (10.9%). I'm sure Rachel will take it in stride, though -- after all, "you're all minorities, you're in the glee club" (Mr. Schue, s1e7)

In a somewhat surprising (and potentially upsetting) twist, the coded character beats the explicitly Jewish one in the battle of the Smart Bitches, knocking Christina Yang out early and keeping Miss Frizzle in the competition (175, 76.1% to 55, 23.9%). It's okay, Christina, there's space for you in the school bus. Field trip!

No surprises that our next matchup is as close as it is... with 119 votes (51.7%) to 111 (48.3%), the winner of the DC Patriarch matchup is Bruce Wayne himself, Batman. It's okay, Kal-El, I'm still thinking about the Hebrew School class when we discussed your story as a Moses allegory.

I'm convinced that Ben Grimm and Peter Parker go to the same synagogue, which makes his loss to the webslinger a bit easier to handle (29 votes to Spiderman's 201, 12.6% to 87.4%). BTW if y'all haven't read the comic where The Thing becomes canon Jewish, you're missing out.

Is anyone shocked that Spock won the Space Jews matchup? No? Me neither. As much as I love a good Futurama episode, nothing beats Nimoy. Zoidberg's going back in the dumpster he lives in behind the Planet Express building, bringing home 39 votes (17%) in comparison to Spock's whopping 191 (83%).

Yoinks, how'd the Scooby Gang manage to win this one? With a margin I by no means expected to be this definitive, the Mystery Machine pulls ahead of the ENTIRE cast of the X-Men with 154 votes (67%) to their 76 (33%).

In the war of the Magical Boys, the alchemy was not in Edward Elric's favor, getting only 39.1% of the vote (90) to Steven Universe's 60.9% (140).

The last of the neck and neck battles, turns out Sam Manson is going ghost, with 49.6% of the vote to Willow Rosenberg's 50.4% (114 to 116).

I guess my thesis had some public consensus backing, because about two thirds of y'all agree that werewolves are INCREDIBLY Jewish, 143 votes to 87 belonging to Frankenstein's Monster (62.2% and 37.8%). Stream 'Cry Wolf' on Spotify.

Carpal tunnel from drawing and writing so much. He has to wear wrist braces to help, along with pain medications.

They know sign language! They mostly learned it to talk to Alhaitham when he can't hear them (headphones), but now they just do it subconsciously. They talk with their hands a lot, so they end up signing while speaking without thinking.

She adopted those desert foxes from the Interdarshan Championship btw. Their names are Aida, Jalila, and Khalisa. They sleep in her bed and she makes food for them <3

He loves soup! Unfortunately, he doesn't make it for dinner often since Alhaitham hates soup. Sad.

They spend so long getting ready in the morning it's ridiculous. They get up like 2.5 hours earlier than Alhaitham. And Alhaitham gets up at 6:30, so. 4:00 am Kaveh wake up real.

She's got ADHD and always needs to be doing something with her hands. Alhaitham constantly buys silent fidget toys for her so she doesn't click her pen constantly.

All of the local stray animals come flocking as soon as they see Kaveh. He feeds and plays with them regularly, so they see him and are like omg! Food is here! And pets! Yay!!

They always see the best in people, no matter what. Their motto is "I'd rather trust a thousand bad people than miss the opportunity to befriend one good one."

She has schizophrenia. She often hears music playing when there is none, and will see and speak to people who aren't there. Alhaitham often has to tell her that she's talking to herself. She'll still talk to the hallucinations, she'll just keep in mind that they aren't real.

He and Faruzan are 100% gossip buddies. They share designs and tell each other rumors.

Okay Dori's difficult for me. I'm a white American, so I don't have any say on her design and character. I've seen Turkish people say that it's bad and that it's good, so...yeah.

Anyways, I gave her darker skin, mostly to match with Layla. I also covered her arms because I can't think of a single kid who would wear that top. I also just overall darkened her color palette so that it wouldn't clash with her new skin tone.

I don't have many thoughts on her at all tbh. She's pretty controversial so I try not to think about her too much.
