Tfw Sephiroth hates Rufus forever but has to live with the constant agonizing knowledge that he is basically Rufus' servant until he retires (unlikely) or deserts. And that once Rufus assumes the presidency Sephiroth is basically obligated to kill or die for him without question at any given moment. 🥲

I can't for the life of me find that one post of yours where you mention how Lazard's character was created because Sephiroth wouldn't take orders from Heidegger. But it makes me think: If Sephiroth wouldn't take orders from Heidegger, what's to say he'd accept being "owned" by Rufus, who he has reason to hate? Imagine Rufus taking a jab at Sephiroth about how he owns him just like he does to Cloud in Remake, except he sprinkles in a mention of Glenn too.

I genuinely think Sephiroth would snap. Maybe not Nibelheim-level, but enough to scare Rufus and make him have Hojo "control" Sephiroth, or drug the shit out of him to make sure he won't lash out again.....which might lead to something like Nibelheim happening sooner come to think.
