he basically yote himself onto the operating table as soon as he turned 18, haha. he was an absolute nightmare during the recovery, though. it was at the time when Lili took a few years out from the psychonauts to go to college, and he kept calling her like "hey do you think it's okay if i go for a run as long as i don't move my arms too much. i was thinking i could hold them behind me like naruto" "raz you had surgery four days ago"

actually, since you asked about general headcanons, more rambling about that time of their lives under the cut!:

i've talked a little before about how Raz and Lili had a pretty tumultuous relationship during their teens, haha. i think around 17/18, things start to simmer down between them. they're still really close, but stuff's not as volatile, and they come to the decision that they want to take a break for a while. no matter how good friends they are, it can be kind of stifling to still be dating the same person you were when you were ten, y'know?

and like i said, this was also when Lili took a break from the Psychonauts. for me, one of the central anxieties of her character is figuring out who she wants to be outside of the Zanotto family's legacy and the expectations of everyone else. we see in PN1 she has kind of a skeptical view of the Psychonauts as a whole - but at the same time, it's the only world she's ever known. she's been training at the Motherlobe since she was a baby. she's spent her whole life immersed in this world, and i think she has a lot of big questions to ask herself as she enters adulthood: who am I? who do I really want to be?

so she takes a break to go study! i haven't decided exactly what, but i think she does something like a major in biological sciences and a minor in pharmaceuticals. she has a great time, and taking that time out ends up being what she needs to realise that actually she does want to stick with the Psychonauts. she and Raz go on their first mission together, things just click, and the rest is history hahaha

something that still gets me even so much time after his passing is that maybe techno is gone but the love isn't. the fact that people still regularly post content on tumblr and still make videos on youtube and still talk about him with technodad and just say 'i miss technoblade' just really shows how beloved he was and is, and i think that's what makes it feel like even if he's gone he isn't gone. it felt like he left so suddenly but truthfully he said farewell and thanks. we remember him in our art and in our words and on his channel and it feels like he left but didnt leave. he exists in the love. he exists in the love he left behind

if you really want to start on the ground floor for breaking into something, I'd recommend my personal favorite approach which is picking the figure that's most interesting to you, reading through plutarch's biography on them (free! online! in english!) and then putting their name through a jstor search and reading whatever sounds fun.

Hmmm as for favorite poem, there's a few I throw out as my top poem with frequency, but here I've got to say The Bridge by C. Dale Young. I just adore its positivity and the way it isn't afraid to be in love with the small details of life. That's just a feeling I relate with so much in my life and the whole poem is SUCH a vibe. Think I called it my idea of the world's greatest love poem in an essay once (which is def A Claim which idk if I'd fully back up now but the vibes are there) because it isn't just a poem about being in love with someone, it's loving everything they do and everything around you and loving just the world as a whole and how you see it everyday. Giyuu is a prince of a kingdom called Frostsomething. He is the first in line to claim the throne and become King of Frostheim.

Kyojuro is a knight who patrols the tall wall around Frostheim and ends up looking after Prince Giyuu because no one else can keep track of him.

Originally, Giyuu was very cocky and flirtatious but that is very out of character for him so I'm changing that part of his lore.

Prince Giyuu is assigned the task of finding a woman to marry. There is one problem with that: he doesn't like women. He has no romantic or sexual attraction to any of the women he's talked to. Only few can handle his naturally quiet nature, and those tend to try to talk over him and talk for him.

Knight Kyojuro has been training almost his entire life to protect his kingdom and protect the family that has done so for him. His father is the Head Guard and leader of the Knight Training Camp, so the King is in good relations with the Rengoku family. Kyojuro lies when his comrades ask which royal woman is his eye candy. Prince Giyuu Tomioka is the man who caught his heart. It's unexplainable and otherworldly. Letting his hopes rise when he gets sworn in by Giyuu is unrealistic, delusional even. He would never have a chance with the prince.

And yet...

Kyojuro is the only knight that Giyuu doesn't try to sneak away from. It was no surprise when King Iguro Tomioka ordered Kyojuro to train more to become a personal guard for Giyuu. It's a decent surprise when Kyojuro is the first person outside of the palace that Giyuu seeks to talk to. Tsukako is even shocked by her younger brother.

Giyuu is surprised by his father's decision. Of course, it would be another year before Kyojuro would finish his training, but he would be allowed inside the palace without being questioned by the palace guards.

They're both pining over each other in their forbidden love. Their love is one meant to be destroyed, and discarded, but neither of them care about that. They want each other, but can you imagine the implications of that? Gay love wasn't widely accepted. Kyojuro is bound by code to keep a personal distance. Giyuu is bound by blood to rule, to wed a woman, and to have an heir.

I have this whole story planned out in my head but I don't know if it will hit actual writing words. I made like a little opening but i dont think itll be turned into a full fic. totally gonna post snippets because its a masterpiece but actual effort and written content? its my allergy

Shinjuro Rengoku is the head guard of all the guards of the kingdom and makes the decisions on how they're trained and stationed.

Kyojuro is transmasc in this universe, but only his father, mother, and brother know. He keeps it a secret from everyone else.

Kyojuro and Giyuu will flirt very much <3

Kyo graduated at the top of his class for guard training and his father is silently proud of him for it.

Tengen is the king of a nearby kingdom, he gets help ruling his kingdom from his three beautiful wives.

Tanjiro and and Nezuko and their family live in the Tomioka kingdom as servants. Very well respected and appreciated because they're nice :)

Muichiro is the prince training to be king of another kingdom since he's the only person left of his royal family

Sanemi is the married prince of his kingdom and Frostheim and Flowerdoom (Kanae and Shinobu's kingdom) are his kingdom's only allies.

Gyomei lives in Flowerdoom as the head guard but also as the coordinator for their naval forces

Ozma’s situation is far more horrifying and sympathetic than Salem’s. The gods proved that they could bring Ozma back to life in his own body, but instead he’s forced to be a body snatcher? That’s fucked up in so many ways. She may be able to die again and again, but I think it’s way worse to die knowing you’re dooming several people at once

May Marigold isn’t that great of trans rep. She’s so unmemorable and inconsequential to the plot that the only reason I remember her at all is because she’s The Trans One. Like, glad they made her trans, and the reveal was respectful and clear and not even plot-relevant!, but maybe make her a good character first?

If we’re going by the show’s queer golden rule of blushing = romantic feelings, then Ruby had a crush on Emerald in V3 and it should have been explored way more for angst purposes

and exactly! the angst in s2 is like- messy- but that’s good television! it gave us a top 5 millie preformance how can i even be mad

men in stranger things are weird sometimes cuz you have to overlook their CRIMES, (i’ll be like “omg jancy!” then i REMEMBER…) it’s weird when a character is randomly at their worst for a scene or a season just to meet the story’s requirements

jopper can scream at each other all sam and diane for nostalgia in s3 but when you look at it in a larger context it’s kinda dicey. like how weird of hop to doubt her when he already knows to trust her instincts.

and also it’s just like- nobody drags him enough for me! he’s so loved- male characters can do ANYTHING kinda- so i have to get him. out of principle. and i see that hopper (and like david harbour) is too important to kill off in the show and that him and el’s relationship isn’t all lows, not even in s2. i think i’m just bitter that 1. st tiktok treats el like she was SO unreasonable in that scene>:( (i need to stop going there it makes me want to rant on tumblr) and 2. how much time was devoted to bringing him back last season like my cali boys were so neglected. :( (after 2 failed prison escape attempts i was like (why i am still looking at this insanely bruised man) so-

but yeah i need to stop typing now cause i have a million thoughts in my head about hopper and the way that he is. and the way the show treats him. (how funny is it that even the viewers can have a complicated relationship with him. maybe i’m not giving the writers enough credit in that regard)

-I have a hard time even being really mad at Jonathan for the Incident cuz like, that was such a weird ooc moment that was clearly just so the plot would happen. Like he got possessed by the spirit of the writers to do that shit. And like I can't even be mad at the writers either because like, the plot they were servicing is really fucking good? I might be the only person in the world who thinks this but I think this show is phenomenally written esp from a plot structure perspective. Near perfectly even. Like this show single-handedly instilled a sense of how to do super satisfying setup and payoff, and how to have every scene push multiple things forward, and how everything seen on screen needs to be relevant to as much as possible. Its so tightly written that its like...yeah Jonathan had to do that shit. It allowed like 3 perfectly intersecting plotlines to play out. There was no other option. And like there probably was and maybe I'm coping or whatever but like...idk it's perfect to me :) But still we forgive but we never forget. And we only forgive after they display a marked change in behavior. And we still never forget <3 (side note: remember when El dumped him and Mike ((and Lucas)) went full andrew tate for a second? That's the one thing he's ((they've)) actually ever done wrong lmaooo ((tbf they were also 13 so like)))

-I think the biggest problem with the Russia plotline is just that it's not fun? Watching Hopper get tortured in a labor camp is not fun? I came here for 80s vibes, friendship and supernatural shit and it only delivers that whenever Joyce and Murray are onscreen (who are really fantastic together tho) and once the monster finally shows up way too late into the proceedings. There should have been inklings of monster throughout to add some intrigue and let us know that this was all going to have a point that tied into the plot of Stranger Things the 80s Monster Show. But alas.
