Reylo AU Game | Fic Recs Round Up

Last month I did a fun game on Twitter where people would send me photos of Daisy and Adam and I’d give them an AU prompt. Since then, a few of them have become actual stories (which is so amazing and exciting!!) so I thought I’d compile them here and share them with all of you.

I’ll be posting the prompt and the link to the story it inspired. Thank you to all the amazingly talented writers who contributed their beautiful words!

She’s standing by a stop sign. Light smile, heavy accent. “Going north?” Ben nods. “Hop in.” Her eyes flash with something like victory.

He’s a serial killer who murders hitchhikers.

She’s a serial killer who murders the people who pick her up.

An unconventional love story.

Body of Work (E, WIP)

Rey has always been a fan of Ben Solo’s books. His words fill a void in her heart. When she hears about the job, she promptly applies.

Rey doesn’t understand why he would need a stenographer. Not until she meets him.

Ben Solo, bestselling author, is blind.

She gets the job.

He's a grumpy angel who yells a lot at the humans he protects. She's a cheery demon who prefers to befriends them. It should come as no surprise that Hell has twice as many souls as heaven.

Ben's boss isn't happy sends Ben down to earth to spy on Rey and see how she does it.

A Hell Of A Girl (M,WIP)

“MUST LOVE DOGS”

That’s what the ad on Craigslist said. It’s a great apartment and Rey has always liked pups, so she arranges a viewing with the owner (and possible future roomie).

Turns out he’s the dog (wolf?). Not always, just when he’s really tired or angry or happy.

Must Love Dogs (E, WIP)

Kira is not in the business of harboring fugitives aboard her ship, but for a doe-eyed prince disguised as a peasant, she makes an exception.

He says he’s running from an arranged marriage with a foreign princess. As it turns out, so is she.

She’s Princess Rey—his betrothed.

Compass (E, 3K)

“I need to borrow your kid.”

“You what?”

“And also you.”

Or the one where Rey lies and tells her coworkers she has a loving husband and a son. Now the annual picnic is coming up and she needs a fake picture-perfect family. Fortunately, her friend Ben fits all the requirements.

Love Is Strange (M, 12K)

She comes with Jannah and Poe. It’s July 4th and Ben is cooking. She shakes his hand, smiles, says “It’s nice to meet you, Ben.”

Later, he finds her holding a picture frame and looking confused. She eyes him with distrust when he walks in.

“Why am I in this photo with you?”

since we were eighteen (M, 2K)

They’re 17, about to be separated by an ocean. They make a pact: No matter what, on Rey’s 18th birthday, they will meet at Point Zéro, in Paris.

They never do.

Now, years later, completely by chance, they find each other right on that spot & decide to spend the day together.

I Know a Place (T, 5K)

People don’t touch Ben Solo. It ranges from a serious pinch to a full blown seizure, but every person who touches him gets hurt.

He’s a master at avoiding everyone.

Until her. She’s dancing on the street and smacks right into him... and nothing. She even smiles.

She’s immune.

Kiss me and tell me it’s not broken (M, 6K)

Hikers Ben & Rey meet on the trail when they’re both lost. Hours of walking lead them to a convent in the woods. The sisters are very friendly, but refuse to let them both stay unless they’re married.

In the Woods Somewhere (M, 6K)

Rey is a fashion designer a Burberry. Ben is an A-list superstar who always wears boring Tom Ford suits.

She's sick of it.

She sends him a custom made, perfectly tailored suit. Ben nearly loses his mind when he receives it. It's gorgeous, sure. But it smells divine.

Why Don’t We Go There (E, 6K)

Author Rey’s new children’s book features a grumpy bunny named Benji who after many trials and tribulations finds friendship and love. What nobody knows is that it’s inspired by Rey’s friend Ben and that it’s her attempt to get him to notice she’s been in love with him for ages.

This one comes with gorgeous illustrations!! (yes, I cried)

Turn The Page... Find My Heart (T, 2K)

Ben & Draco are legacy children of pureblood families, forced to become death eaters by fate and circumstance.

Everything changed when Rey & Hermione, Order of the Phoenix spies, infiltrate the Dark Lord's party to steal information and end up stealing their hearts.

I’ve come to burn your kingdom down (E, WIP)

NY Rangers defenseman Ben Solo has been suspended for two games over a nasty penalty. To get him and the team some good publicity, his agent Rose arranges a date with HBO show breakout star Rey Johnson.

The internet goes wild when she shows up at his next game wearing his jersey.

I’m Not Yours and You’re Not Mine (E, WIP)

Actress Rey is doing press for her latest movie. During a segment where Graham Norton reads thirst tweets, they show one of Rey’s own: “@/OfficialRey: Watching Galaxy Wars. I may not know how to drive, but I would love to ride Solo.”

(Ben) Solo happens to be the other guest.

Shanie’s Dream Fic: A Masterpost

The following is a Masterpost of all my various finished, started, and sketched out dream stories. They are listed here as the dreams originally were, not as the stories the dreams became. Listings are by Saga/Series, Story Title, and Month/Year of original dream. Also listed are the fandoms of the dreams and any specific warnings the fics might carry. For the record, this isn’t a post really for anyone on here. It’s mostly for my own records. I do have a copy on my cloud storage but I’m putting it here as well on the off chance anyone is curious. BTW: I’m putting this here so that I don’t have to list it every time. As far as the WWE dreams go. Absolutely NONE of them are Kayfabe compliant. That’s the problem with not watching the shows regularly. I don’t dream about the TV side of it often. The Zowens dream is close though. It’s sort of a hybrid. The rest? Well, all of them are some level of NKC, but some are not only non-kayfabe, they are straight up AU. BTW2: In every single one of these stories involving me I am some manner of queer. I’m pretty sure in all but maybe one or two. I’m either wlw, ace, or both. NOT ONE of the first person dreams contains romance between me and another character. The best you get is a single platonic fake-relationship story. (That one did have a smut scene in it but it isn’t romantic.)

A Revolution In This Century (Enter Me) (November 2019) The year is 2027. Climate Change has decimated the globe and revolution has reduced the Ruling Elite to food reserves. However, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and soon the new ruling poor become as ruthless as the 1% had been. Crystal Vision – A Dozen Birthdays (December 2019)

After showing kindness to an enchantress, I am given my hearts greatest desire – a place in Shane’s life. I am sent back in time to 2005 as a WWE Makeup tech and given 12 years in the life of my childhood heroes. But a lot happened in the WWE from 2005 to 2017 and not all of it good. After death, Xena finds herself on the Astral Plane. Promptly running into Joxer, they must find a way to survive the dangers of the afterlife. But don’t worry. Gabrielle has a plan. *Xenaverse Dream* (I’m not in this one)

The Foresight Curse (June 2020)

The problem with knowing the future is that you usually don’t have the ability to change it. So when Radar O’Reilly realizes Henry’s fate the day before it happens, he has to spend the next day trying to drown out the feelings of dread and sorrow, if only for the Colonel’s sake. Funny thing though, sometimes fate takes a left turn and you get a second chance to say goodbye. *M*A*S*H Universe Dream* (I’m not in this one) Vampires, Wraiths, and Shades, Oh My! (December 2019)

In the middle ages, I am orphaned at a very young age by vampires and taken in by Vampire Hunters (AU Shane and Stephanie). Now a teenager, I fight alongside them to protect the world from the dangers of the night. *McMahon Family Vampire AU Dream*

WHEW! I’m pretty sure that’s all of them! I have so dang many dreams it’s hard to keep track of them all! Anyway, out of all of these, only a handful are finished, ONE is published (Death of a Fangirl) and a ton of them aren’t far past the sketch stage. So, this is my list. Every story on here I at least have sketched out. I doubt I will ever even bother writing many of these, but the intent is present.

here's an au of an au because i have issues watched the genghis khan music video one too many times. lore dump + crops/bonus art below

Due to an unfortunate combination of chance factors, Razputin Aquato arrives at Whispering Rock one day late.

He finds the camp a ghost town. The campers are stumbling around, brainless; the counsellors, nowhere to be found. Ford doesn’t know what to make of this kid showing up out of nowhere – but he’s got promise, and with Sasha and Milla out of action, he’s their best hope. He gives Raz a crash course in what he needs to know, and sends him out across the lake.

Raz pulls through, against all odds. But he never gets the starstruck meeting with his heroes Sasha and Milla that he’d been hoping for; never gets to bond with Lili, or any of the other campers. It’s a harrowing and lonely experience for him, but one that ties a burning knot of resolve in his chest. If he works hard, he can be a Psychonaut just like he dreamed. He can save people.

When the alert comes through from Headquarters that Grand Head Zanotto has been captured, Sasha and Milla scramble the jet with Lili on board. They don’t bring Raz along – Ford’s account of his accomplishments is impressive, but without seeing him in action themselves, neither agent is convinced to bring him along on the mission. Sasha invites him to next year’s session of the camp – after all, he clearly has promise, and the Psychonauts are always interested in nurturing young minds.

Raz returns to camp next year with something to prove. He throws himself into his studies with a single-minded dedication, sparing little time to interact with any of the other campers. This time, he’ll show them. He’ll show them all.

Sasha, Milla and Lili are unable to locate Truman in the Rhombus of Ruin. It ultimately takes a week to locate the Grand Head, following an anonymous tip-off (later found to have been planted by Nick). It takes six months for the ruse to be uncovered. Ultimately, Nick is unsuccessful in finding any clues to Maligula’s whereabouts. Lucrecia will pass a few years later, surrounded by a family that has no idea who she really is. Ford never remembers the truth, and when Razputin is fourteen, he takes the secret to his grave.

Truman’s brain spends almost seven months in a box, under poor conditions with insufficient oxygen. When it’s finally returned to his body, he’s not the same man he used to be. He quietly steps down as Grand Head of the organisation, and spends years of his retirement in intensive therapy.

Lili is heartbroken. Her faith in the Psychonauts is shattered. She never returns to Whispering Rock again. Over the years, she becomes more and more withdrawn; isolated from her peers, estranged from her mother, and struggling with her relationship with a father who on bad days can’t even remember her name. The bitterness grows day by day, blooming within her chest.

She’s sixteen the first time she's forced to turn her powers against another person. Even in his current state, her father has enemies – old foes the Psychonauts can’t (or won’t) protect him from. There’s a raid on her house, late at night. It’s only by chance that she’s still awake. She breaks two of the assailants’ bodies, and when she twists her hand, the plants in her father's greenhouse writhe under her command and rip the third one to pieces. It’s the last time that house ever feels like a home to her. She cuts ties with the Psychonauts entirely, and never looks back; the next time they hear of her, it's under a completely different name.

Dogen Boole never returns to Whispering Rock either. He’s thoroughly traumatized by the events at camp, and his parents refuse to send him back the following year. With nobody to help him learn to control or harness his powers, his episodes steadily become worse as he gets older. Although reluctant, his family is eventually forced to reach out to the Psychonauts to help. Compton is still a nervous recluse, and nobody else in the organisation is quite sure how to handle Dogen’s powers. He spends his teenage years in and out of psychoisolation, and is subjected to more and more intense experimentation in the name of “treatment”. Nothing works. In the end, all he has to show for it are the scars.

His helmet is the only thing he can rely on to stop him mulching the cranium of anyone in a fifty-foot radius. There’s no place for him in “normal” society. Just like Lili, he’s driven to become a villain by a combination of circumstances, trauma, and a bitter feeling of hurt and betrayal towards the Psychonauts.

Raz enters the intern program at thirteen, and quickly graduates to the rank of Junior Agent. The Psychonauts he finds waiting for him is undergoing a marked transition from the organization it used to be. Upon Ford’s passing, the only member of the old guard still around is Otto. Hollis is a Grand Head forced to prioritize efficiency in order to keep the Psychonauts afloat after numerous losses and funding cuts.

Raz enters a passionate, determined boy, remarkably talented but who struggles to connect with his peers. When he gets his promotion at eighteen, he’s the most decorated junior agent the organization has ever seen. At twenty-six, he’s in the prime of his career, honed by years of training into an efficient, meticulous, ruthless Psychonaut.

He’s the perfect agent. As far as he’s concerned, that’s all he needs to be.

dogen's helmet seals up like a pillbug most of the time, to stop his powers from leaking out when he gets stressed. i couldn't find a way to work it into the art while still making clear that Hey It's Ya Boy, but i think it's a neat visual. the extra pic of lili was gonna be a mugshot - at first i was planning to composit her art into, like, a dossier/file, but i couldn't make it work in the end
