The Daily Tea #2
gunpowder green tea with jasmine
Tumblr media
The packaging got me on this one. The Tao of Tea's organic pearl gunpowder loose leaf green tea is beautiful. I think I will be getting this brand more often not only because of the quality of the tea itself but because of the packaging. A nice sturdy round tin sealed with a sticker that pops cleanly and easily when turned. Underneath the circular top is a beautiful metallic tin top with a small circular handle and their logo embossed on it.
Be careful! When I popped the lid off, I lost quite a bit of tea from the impact of me yanking the lid off.
Why didn't I get green tea with jasmine together? A couple reasons. I wanted a good green tea on its own. And I wanted to have some jasmine on hand for other blends in the future.
I brewed it carefully - knowing green tea is finicky to brew. Don't boil the water. But make sure it's hot. Don't let the leaves soak for too long. I used a tea strainer that sits on top so I knew I wouldn't brew it for too long.
Now on to the taste.
Because I added the jasmine, it smelled and tasted very floral right off the bat. I did add honey to this. A strong green tea flavor lingered underneath the jasmine, grounding it as the jasmine kept it bright. The honey kept the bitterness at bay when the jasmine flavor went away. As I got closer down to the bottom of the cup, it got more bitter and I just tasted more of the honey. I wonder how I can keep the jasmine flavor to last to the bottom of the cup. Hmmm... (any tips let me know). Perhaps a different strainer and equal parts green tea and jasmine...
Overall, I really liked both flavors. Green tea with jasmine is one of my favorite tea blends and this Tao of Tea is one of my new favorite tea brands. This was a good strong green tea to add to my collection - good for when I'm in the need of a light boost in energy and alertness and antioxidants.
All in all, a good purchase and a delightful cup of tea.

How to Use Herbs : Rosemary
Hwello there. We have talked about rosemary and its uses in a previous post. If you haven't read it, please click here: Rosemary
Now I shall provide some spells, tonics, recipes and etc on where you can utilize it. Let us begin :)
Tumblr media
Author's Note: From I noticed a part is usually a teaspoon. You can add more according to your needs, but I would always start with that measurement first.
Alchemist Formula for Binding:
One part benzoin gum (Saturn, binding)
One part patchouli (Saturn,binding)
One part Solomon's seal (Saturn, protective)
One part rosemary oil (Saturn, protective)
One part frankincense oil (Sun, success)
Mental Focus Magical Tea:
I part rosemary
1/2 part spearmint
1 cup of boiling water
Mix herbs in a small jar
To brew, pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 teaspoon of the herbal blend.
Steep for 5 - 7 minute. Strain and drink.
Spells:
Remembrance for Lost Love (Heartache Healer)
6 drops of rosemary oil
3 drops of peppermint oil
1 drop of lavender oil
White candle
Add the oil to the top of the candle, one at a time, in a clockwise direction around the wick.
LIght the candle and gaze into the flame
Visualize your fond memories of the person who left your life. As you do this say, "I thank you for the time we had together, I thank you for the love we shared, I thank you for being an important part of my life. We have parted, we move on, we remember. I wish you the best life has to offer and hope you have found happiness."
Allow the candle to burn out of its own and dispose of the remaining wax away from your home or bury it in the spot you and the past partner enjoyed together.
Broom Cleansing Spell
Use one or any combination of the following botanicals: broom, cedar, fennel, hyssop, rosemary, sage, vervain.
Arrange the botanicals and tie them to the bottom of a branch withraffia, visualizing, charging and knotting. (Any branch may be used, however an ash branch is considered particularly powerful.)
Sprinkle with salted water or any preferred purification formula.
Sweep the area.
Disassemble the broom outside, away from the cleansed space.
Bury the components in the ground or toss them into living waters, flowing away from you.
Ghost Keep Away Spell (Boundary Line Spell)
Place three peeled cloves of garlic in a bowl, together with one handful of sea salt and one handful of fresh rosemary leaves.
Grind and mash the ingredients together.
Sprinkle them to create a boundary, as needed.
Bad Habits Bath
Add the following to a tub filled with warm water:
Essential oil of clary sage
Essential oil of frankincense
Essential oil of lavender
Essential oil of lemongrass or May Chang
Essential oil of rosemary
Enter the bath and inhale the fragrance, and accompany with affirmations and positive visualizations.
Kitchen Witch Recipes:
Super-Quick Bonus Recipe for Gwion’s Red Onion Pickle Bliss
Fills one pint-sized jar
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes, plus 30 minutes to cool in the fridge
1 medium red onion
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup water
10 black peppercorns
2/3 cup white wine vinegar,
rice vinegar, or apple cider vinegar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 sprig rosemary
1 clove garlic, peeled and halved
Slice the onion very thinly and place it in your clean, dry jar. Set it aside.
Add the rest of the ingredients to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil until the sugar has fully dissolved. Stir carefully so you don’t break the rosemary. The sprig is in there to add flavour, and you’ll discard it before the next step.
Let the pickling mixture (the water, vinegar, and spices) cool down for about 10 minutes. Discard the sprig of rosemary and pour the remaining
ingredients into the jar of onions. Make sure all of the onions are submerged
in the picking liquid. If you have to, use a spoon to push the onions down in the jar. Seal the jar and put it in the fridge to cool. The onions are ready to eat once they are cool, about 30 minutes.
Serve them on avocado toast, burgers, salads, or just with a fork straight out of the jar. Remember to kiss your partner or partners before eating the onions out of the jar, unless they’re into pungent kisses.
Goat for a God: Roasted Goat Leg with Grape Molasses
Great for Deities: Dionysus, Pan and Thor
Serves : 6
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes
1 goat leg (about 3 pounds)
1/4 cup + 1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon cumin
2 teaspoons black pepper
4 tablespoons grape molasses
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon coriander
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
1 cup white wine + one glass for sipping and toasting while cooking (use mead if you're cooking this for Thor)
1 bay leaf
2 large carrots, chopped into
1" chunks
1 celery root, peeled and chopped into 1" cubes
Open the bottle of white wine or mead and take a hefty drink. (This is optional but deities do like when you drink with them but they can respect if you don't partake.)
Preheat the oven to 375° F.
Liberally season the goat leg with salt and pepper.
Rub the minced garlic all over the goat leg too. If it helps, poke a few holes in the goat leg so you can get the garlic right into the meat.
Place the rosemary sprigs and bay leaf in the bottom of a large roasting pan and put the goat leg right on top. Add the carrots and celery root around the edges. Pour the olive oil all over the goat and rub it around. Coat the carrots and celery root too.
Pour the white wine around the bottom of the roasting pan.
Loosely cover with kitchen foil and put the whole pan into the oven for 2 hours.
About an hour and forty-five minutes into the cooking process, it’s time to make the glaze.
Mix the grape molasses—which is a super-condensed syrup made of grape must—in a bowl with a tablespoon of olive oil, the coriander, and the cumin. You can substitute honey for the grape molasses if for Thor.
At the two-hour mark, pull the roasting pan out of the oven and paint the goat with the grape (or honey) and spice glaze.
Pop the goat and veggies, uncovered, back into the oven for another 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 145° F.
When you’re ready to serve this dish, scoop the veggies into a bowl (fornow) and put the goat leg on a platter. If you have access to one, get a cedar plank and serve the goat on it.
Medical Tonics and Infusions:
Infusion- An infusion is the simplest way to prepare the more delicate aerial parts of plants, especially leaves and flowers, for use as a medicine or as a revitalizing or relaxing drink. It is made in a similar way to tea, using either a single herb or a combination of herbs, and may be drunk hot or cold.
Pot Infusion
For a cup:
1 tsp (2–3 g) dried or 2 tsp (4–6 g) fresh herb (or mixture of herbs) to a cup of water
For a pot:
20 g dried herb or 30 g fresh herb (or a mixture of different herbs) to 2 cups (500 ml) of water
Warm the pot, then add the herb.
Pour in water that has just boiled, replace the lid, and infuse for 10 minutes.
Strain some of the infusion into a cup. A teaspoon of honey may be added if desired.
Storage:
Store in a covered jug in a refrigerator or cool place for up to 24 hours.
Tonic Making
Standard Quantity:
200 g dried or 300 g fresh herb chopped into small pieces to 1 quart (1 liter) alcohol—vodka of 35–40% alcohol is ideal, although rum hides the taste of bitter or unpalatable herbs
Standard Dosage:
Take 1 tsp (5 ml) 2 –3 times a day diluted in 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp (25 ml) of water or fruit juice.
Place the herb in a large, clean glass jar and pour on the alcohol, ensuring that the herb is covered. Close and label the jar.
Shake well for 1–2 minutes and store in a cool dark place for 10–14 days, shaking the jar every 1–2 days.
Set up the wine press, placing a muslin or nylon mesh bag securely inside. Pour in the mixture and collect the liquid in the jug.
Slowly close the wine press, extracting the remaining liquid from the herbs until no more drips appear. Discard the leftover herbs.
Pour the tincture into clean, dark glass bottles using a funnel. When full, stopper with a cork or screw top and label the bottles.
Storage:
Store in sterilized, dark glass bottles in a cool dark place for up to 2 years. An amber glass jar is the best option.
Sorry this post is so long @_@ But please enjoy and use wisely. Bye byes~

Lavender Tea Spell for a Good Night’s Sleep
My spells are pretty loose and rely much more on state of mind, imagination, and intention than specific steps, but here you go! @dinobandaid
Tumblr media
1. Brew a pot of lavender tea and let it steep. If you work with a god, this is a wonderful time to insert a small offering to them. My patron is a fae queen so I often sing without a tune in mind, just letting my voice wander through notes wherever it wants to go.
2. Once your tea is ready, pour yourself a cup. Sit cross legged before your altar (if you have one) while holding it and call the elements. Close your eyes and reach down with your energy, burrowing into the earth until you hit bedrock. Imagine yourself suspended within a great ocean, gently cradled by a current’s soft hand. Burst from the sea and into the sky on powerful wings, wind whipping at your shirt. Feel the fire in your heart each time it beats, the warmth in your hands, the wildness in your ability to live - in DARING to live.
3. Add your honey, stirring clockwise three times., stating your intention as you do so. I prefer to say these off the cuff rather than following a pre-written statement. If you would like an example, “let my sleep be dark and deep and full of pleasant dreams” has worked for me in the past.
4. Close your eyes and drink your tea, letting that feeling of reverence overtake you. Some tea spells take me 10 seconds to consume, some take 20 minutes. Your intuition will tell you how long to take and when the spell is over. Sleep spells usually take a bit more time.
5. Complete the rest of your nightly routine and go to bed.
Hope this helps!

Autumn Healing Brew
(Standard Disclaimer: I am not a physician. This is purely a suggestion and is not meant to circumvent, supersede, or replace modern medicine. Please consult your doctor before trying any new medication or treatment and take all proper mundane measures to care for your health. Avoid or replace any ingredients to which you are allergic.)
This is my favorite recipe for recovering from cold and flu. I made a batch of it this morning for some of my officemates who haven't been feeling well and I thought I would share in case anyone needs a pick-me-up.
You will need:
Black tea (I usually use Earl Grey for this recipe)
Honey (local is best if you can get it)
Ginger paste
A fresh orange
Cinnamon stick (if desired)
Brew the tea on the strong side and fill your favorite mug about 2/3 of the way. Add a pea-sized amount of ginger paste plus honey to taste and stir well. Slice the orange into wedges. Select a piece and prick the rind with a fork before adding it to the cup of tea. Macerate the orange a little to release the juice and pulp. If you want, you can also add a cinnamon stick for flavor.
Breathe in the steam while the tea is hot, then sip slowly once it's cooled to a drinkable temperature. It's best to drink it while it's hot. I find this really helps with cough and sore throat, plus it's tasty and comforting. Nothing like a good cuppa to put oneself right again.
Pro-Tip: If you want to make a decongestant version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper. Your nose will run like a faucet, but it helps.
Happy Witching! 🤧

Happiness Potion (honey milk tea) 🤎✨
What you need:
2 tsp honey
½ tsp cinnamon
½ cup boiling water
½ cup milk
What to do:
Mix the honey, cinnamon and water together in a mug until combined.
Froth the milk with a milk frothing tool or by whisking/shaking very violently (Optional)
Add the milk
Garnish with cinnamon
Optional:
The ratio of boiling water to milk should bring the drink down to the perfect temperature!
With milk, you can add peppermint to soothe the stomach, chamomile to soothe the throat and encourage sleep, ginger to soothe the throat, or cayenne pepper to clear the sinuses.
Without milk, you can add a bit of lemon to boost the immune system.
You can replace the water with a herbal tea of your choices such as lavender or chamomile.
You can replace the milk with almond milk or any milk of choice.
–––––––––––––
Here’s the explanation for this spell for fellow baby witches
Spells come in many forms, including drinkable ones! You can call them potions if you like. They involve using herbs/flavors/scents etc with specific correspondents to fulfil a specific intention.
Honey signifies happiness and positivity and expels negativity, depression and anxiety.
Cinnamon signifies spirituality, success, healing, protection, power, love, luck, strength and prosperity
Milk has correspondents too! Full cream milk signifies prosperity, nurturing, protection, success. Warm milk eases anxiety and anger. Here’s a list of correspondents for non-dairy milk types by @heximari
Citrine is a crystal that boosts joy and optimism, and clear quartz is used for protection and as an amplifier for other crystals.
Sigils are statements of intent drawn up into a little picture which you can write on your skin, on a paper, or in this case, stir into tea, to make a spell work better.

New Year Manifestation Tea Blend
Here is another tea blend, this time one you can drink at the beginning of the year to bring luck, prosperity, health, and love.
• Mint - prosperity, healing
• Rose - love, beauty/attractiveness
• Lavender - peace, a calm mindset
• Rosemary - to cleanse out stagnant energy & protect
• Cinnamon - success & prosperity, fast results
Add these two things in after your tea is ready!
• Lemon juice - purification, happiness
• Honey - sweetness, attract what you want to you
While this is more than I normally add to a tea blend (I typically stick with 2-3 herbs), when manifesting a good year, I've found this particular blend to be helpful. And hey, why not? It's a special occasion, create something that tastes fantastic!
Draw sigils into the tea before drinking it. Create your own, for adding your own power and essence into it. If you want to stir your intentions in, stirring clockwise is used to attract!
Hopefully this will serve as some inspiration for manifestation tea blends. Let me know what you end up making!

Lemon Peppermint Tea 🍋🌱
Tumblr media
This is a recipe for a cold infusion tea for mental clarity. 💕
As someone who struggles with extreme brain fog drinking this in the mornings helps me shake the fog for at least a little while.
Ingredients
🍋 Desired amount of cold water (can use sun water for energy)
🌱 2-3 or even 4 peppermint tea bags (I like mine stronger) (mental clarity)
🍋 Lemon juice to taste (energy)
🌱 Sugar (opt) (sweetness, self love)
Directions
🍋 Place sun water (or regular water) into whatever cup or glass you want.
🌱 Add in the tea bags, lemon juice, and sugar if you want
🍋 Cover with lid or tin foil or plastic wrap (whatever you have really) and place either in the sun for a few hours to infuse or in the fridge overnight to drink in the morning.
(You can place energizing and clarifying crystals around your cup or glass if in a safe space to do so)

⭐"-everything will definitely be alright!" tea ⭐
Tumblr media
disclaimer: these are personal associations, and all ingredients must be labeled as culinary/edible. i don't have specific measurements, if you like rose more then put more rose in it. if you like lavender more, then use more lavender, etc etc. measure with your heart and pay attention to what feels the most comforting.
⭐ what you need:
rose petals - love, self-love, comfort
lavender - calmness, gentleness
chamomile - healing
vanilla extract - passion, feelings of the heart
sweetener of your choice - sweetness, softening of anything harsh, friendship
a piece of cake on the side - familial love, close bonds, warmth, joy
⭐ what you need to do:
measure the floral ingredients with what your heart calls for.
mix said floral ingredients, and let them rest together (in a sealed container) for a full day and night.
during the next day, as the first stars begin to appear in the sky, remind yourself of how far you've come and what you've accomplished, as well as what you've healed and are healing from.
choose your favourite cup for your tea and take a moment to hold it, to appreciate it.
begin to brew the tea however you please. once it is done and hot, add your sweetener and vanilla. if you're like me and like to add milk to everything, do so (associations are the same as cake).
sit back in a comfy chair, play some nice music or hum a nice tune. say in your mind, "everything will definitely be alright." then, say it out loud or whisper it/mouth it.
take a bite of the cake, and repeat what you thought and said. say it as many times as you need to.
It's going to be okay.

Ass-Kicking Sick Tea
Being on day 5 of a real doozy of a sinus/throat bug, I figured I’d share an old “recipe”. It’s like a hot toddy, but without the booze or dehydrating factors. Base tea (Green is good for immunity, throat coat, or chamomile before bed). Use a big mug, and two tea bags. It should be strong. Honey, two big spoonfuls. Lemon juice, also two big spoonfuls. A sprinkle of turmeric, ginger, and…

Peace and Clarity Spell
What You’ll Need:
Lavender Incense for a silent calm
A white candle for purity
A cup of jasmine tea for inner peace
Brew yourself a cup of jasmine tea and light your candle and incense. Recite these words:
With the water from these leaves,
I ask for peace and clarity.
With each sip of this I take,
I ask for harmony that I can make.
After you recite this, take a long sip of tea, letting it flow through you. You may sit and drink your tea thoughtfully until the incense burns out. The candle can be blown out at any time after the prayer.
Blessings to all ✌️
